I purchased a DLGX3471V dryer and I have to say, I so regret tossing my perfectly good Kenmore for this piece of junk. It never fails but EVERY load I dry comes out with ripped and torn clothing from catching on the lint tray that no longer fits into the door slot. The plastic breaks apart and catches on the clothes (especially bra straps and tank tops) making them unusable. I have lost a ton of pants and shirts being mangled and ripped by the broken pieces of plastic on the lint tray. I have ordered and replaced the screen twice since it was purchased (3 screens in 4 years). Avoid LG products - hopefully whomever came up with this design no longer works for the company!

I agree with what everyone has to say about these new washing machines. I bought the LG 1101 washer 2 years ago. Chose this model as consumer reports gave it a raving review. After doing a couple loads I felt that the machine wasnt washing the clothes very well - white streaks on dark clothing, dry spots on clothes, not smelling clean at all so I would watch how much water would go into a load - not much! I pulled out a grey dress shirt after a full wash cycle & could see that it was completely dry in certain areas! I called LG & asked them if they were the right people to call or should I have called Sears (where I purchased it). Of course they said I made the right call as they would send a repairman out & because I had the machine for only 2 weeks. I should have called Sears because then I could have returned the machine!Anyways repairman said that the machine is doing what its suppose to do - senses load & puts water accordingly. I showed him a picture of the shirt & he said he understood. He has heard the complaint many times. He said to get around the not enough water issue was to open up washer so it thinks youre adding more clothes so then it will add more water. What a waste of time having this machine is! I have been doing this with every wash load but sometimes I forget because I dont have time to wait for it to start filling. I now put about a bucket full of water (about 10 litres) into the machine after putting the clothes in & then start up the machine. Pretty pathetic that I have to do this to a brand new machine. I absolutely hate my new LG washing machine. Wish I had never purchased it. Its really too bad as I was so excited about getting it as I had never owned a new washing machine before.

My kitchen has other LG appliances & we have been happy with all of them, it had great features & the price was right plus they delivered it and hauled the old one away. I like the accessibly of water filter, sturdy solid shelves, indoor ice maker, quiet and efficient, looks amazing in the kitchen. When we moved, the buyers paid extra to keep it. I would love a freezer at bottom rather than side by side, would have liked it to be a bit larger but our space wouldnt allow it, would have liked it to come with stainless hoses for the icemaker.

I purchased the refrigerator from HH Gregg and within a week or two, we were waking up to water on the floor and ice in the freezer on everything. Also the seal was frozen and the fridge was not keeping the food cold. LG sent out a repairman who was the first of many to tell us LG has a problem with their refrigerators and cant seem to fix it. They have so far replaced left hand refrigerator door 3 or 4 times, also fixed a few other things which did not last. They keep wanting to send out repair guys which means someone has to be here for a 6hr window for him to make it. My time is more valuable to me than that. Thank God HH Gregg is trying to do a buy back so I can get a unit that actually works right. Thank God for honest business that helps the customer.

On September 6th, my wife and I felt a Jarring motion in our home. It was almost like an earthquake. I went to investigate and found my LG washer had spun out of control and had put a 6 inch dent in our wall and had also hit the LG Dryer next to it and did considerable damage to it. Since the machine was about a year old we contacted LG. Within days they sent out a technician, who took pictures of the damage and forwarded them to LG. He also unplugged the machine and locked it so we could not use it. For the next month and a half we contact LG on what they would do. After about 10 phone calls with questions about what is the serial #, which the tech sent them the first day, to where did you buy it and do you have a receipt. Again all info they track as the manufacturer. They did refer us to a Mr. ** who did respond to emails, But it wasnt his department. We finally contacted the Presidents Office and that got a response now they are offering a free repair or a discount on a new unit. Nothing about the $300 worth of damage to our wall or the extensive damage to the dryer unit. The whole process seems to be designed to have you stay on hold until you give up and dealing with people with a poor understanding of English, to pointing you to the wrong people. We are 45 days later and now the President is involved. Hopefully we will get our repairs soon.

Updated 09/04/2020: Every single review here on this website, there is a response from LG promising to look into the problem, its been two weeks since I sent them my information that they asked for and have heard nothing. Since then Ive had my electric range repaired. On my credit card statement they charged me $135 just for the diagnostic and $150.50 for the replacement of a Rotary Switch. It took the repair technician 45 minutes to take my stove apart and test each component. He couldnt determine what was wrong with the stove at this point. Then he went to the visitor parking lot where his truck was parked and brought in the box of parts, why didnt he bring them in when he came in, (the clock is ticking at $65 for 15 minutes)? He opened the box and took out a rotary switch, thats the plug on the knob that turns your stove on and off. He replaced it and that was what the problem was, problem solved. The time that it took him replacing the very first part that he tested without taking the range apart was like two minutes. He should have done that to begin with. Summary: it took the Technician 50 minutes to take the whole stove apart and test everything without a diagnosis and less than 5 minutes to replace the first part that he tested without having to take the whole stove apart. I was charged an additional $150.50 for that on top of the $135 for the diagnostic fee. I disputed this charge with a supervisor after calling them and havent heard anything since 8/27/20 for their review of my complaint.Original review: I purchased the $1,100 electric range 2 years ago. I use it three, four times a month maximum and already after 2 years the front right burner doesnt work. I called customer service to inquire about it and they informed me the warranty had expired after a year. I said I was very disappointed after having a stove for only 2 years that already I need to have a burner replaced. I was told that the supervisor could review the matter and that I would hear back 3 to 5 days. I heard back after about eight days with a denial and that I have to pay for the repair. Im stunned that I paid $1,100 for the stove and already and it needs to be repaired???

I spent $2,000 on an LG refrigerator in October of 2016. It has not worked since April of 2018. I have made over 30 calls to LG. They have sent 4 technicians out to repair. Each technician has said it is unrepairable and sent necessary paperwork to LG for replacement. I have even submitted a report with the BBB and sent all necessary receipts for fridge and lost food like they requested for replacement and compensation for food lost. LG said they would call back within 5 days and take care of. NOTHING. I have now called 5 times in the last week and even if you get someone to answer - they ask the SAME THING give us your email address so we can send you link to a website to upload your proof of purchase. They NEVER send you an email!! Lies, lies, lies!!! They are crooks!! Their product is junk and their customer service is even worse!! Beware - NEVER buy an LG product!!

June 7, 2017 I bought an LG washer from Lowes. November 4, 2017 the bottom of the washer came apart. I called for a service tech to come out to service this washer. November 9, 2017 service tech came out and repaired the washer. I did one load of laundry and even that one didnt finish. The bottom part came apart again. November 16, 2017 the service tech ordered a new part. For the last week Ive been calling LG every day to check on the status of this part. Theres no such thing as customer service. I have been told so many stories. All I know is that I have a six month old washer that does not work. And I get to go to laundromat and do laundry. For one month this washer has not worked.

No Stars. Dont buy LG or dont buy it from HH Gregg. They must buy wholesale merchandise that didnt pass manufacturing standards. I bought and replaced the same item in less than six years. They might work for as much as a year or little longer, hence their strong encouragement to buy additional warranties. Same model. Two refrigerators; Two failures; loss of two refrigerators/freezers full of food. First time: Told to wait a few hours for it to cool; then overnight for it to cool. It didnt. Had to wait a weekend before another (same model) was delivered. Four years later that one has stopped being cold.Only repairs offered were to replace the compressor if that had failed to work. All other costs were mine. Including $150 round trip for the lone LG certified technician in my area willing to work on my LG fridge to come from 50 miles away. THEN, diagnostic fees before problem is determined. IF it was the compressor those have a 10 year warranty. Repairmen say theyd have to order the $800 compressor then come out again ($150 travel) to install.Customer service is located in Manilla. They are only authorized to refer me to several repairmen but would only replace the actual compressor - nothing else, not even food loss. Im living on a small fixed income after retirement becoming disabled. Often spending time away in hospital each year. It has been months summer since Ive had use of the refrigerator. I live alone and have a tiny fridge in my bedroom for when I cant use the stairs. This has been a nuisance and a costly one at that. Be warned.

After 20 years with Kenmore we decided to buy a LG refrigerator. We paid $2200.00. It broke down after 11 months. Called Lowes to find out about the warranty repair. Was told to call LG. Called LG and was told to call a service company. Was given the number. Called the company and was told by them they have not did service for LG over 5 years and told LG to take them off the list. Called back to LG. Got the same number. Explained to them they do not service LG anymore. Was the told they cannot find anyone in our area. After two days of phone calls was given a number to someone called. He came out. Had never worked on LG before. Didnt know how he was getting paid. Call LG to help walk him through the repair. They told us it was a fan and will order it 4 days later. Still no word. Called LG. Was told the part will ship today. Refrigerator is still down. Will have to wait until next week to see if it gets repaired. I will never buy appliance or any big ticket item again from Lowes or LG or anything LG sells. Will stay with Kenmore or with a company that offers local service.

Bought an LG, top-load washer, 3 years ago, model # WT1101CW. There are only 3 of us in the household so the washer was used lightly. Last night it decided to commit suicide. The washer plate and the drive shaft assembly broke into pieces while washing a single shirt. I later found out, this was only half of my problem. The following day I spent 3 hours ping-ponging back and forth with LG customer service (which is in the Philippines... ie, broken English) and Encompass, their third-party parts department. Neither can answer any technical questions and will only ask for a part number.I finally received a phone number for technical questions, but upon calling had to provide a service ID number, which I dont have because I am not a certified technician. Now LG is telling me not to fix it myself, but to call a service technician. I called and they said they would send someone out within 7 days and they would look at it and order parts and that would take another 7-10 days. Once the parts arrive they will send a service technician out to fix it. So, I can use a laundromat for the next 2 to 3 weeks, and then pay a hefty repair bill, or I can just go buy another washing machine from a reputable company that actually provides customer service, and in English. Never again LG! Only 3 years and this LG washer will now be in a landfill. If everybody knew how poorly built these machines are and the non-existent customer that LG provides, LG would be out of business. I can only hope at this point.

We bought our top loading washer from Home Depot about 4 years ago. Thank goodness we invested in the extended warranty at the urging of the Home Depot salesman. I am sure he had heard many complaints about this brand. We had the washer less than a year and the drum broke. It took more than 11 days to get the washer fixed. I have 6 kids. Think of the laundry! Nightmare! The customer service could care less that having a broken washer was a huge inconvenience. Also, what does that say that MANY people were having issues with their machine and the wait list for service took 2 weeks?Fast forward 1 year and now we are dealing with a broken pump and the washer will not drain. We are on day 14 with a broken washer. The part has been ordered but LG did not rush it so we are literally at the mercy of freight shipping. We still have those 6 children. Laundry = Nightmare! Aside from the mechanical failures, the washer does not get our clothes as clean as our old, top loading washer that we had for 18 years. We often have dark brown mold splotched streaked across our clothes, sheets and towels. I bleach a lot and the musty mold is still an issue. I am continually cleaning the mold from the rubber seal. This is an awful appliance. Very disappointing! It is an expensive piece of junk. I do not recommend anyone purchase an LG washer unless you are a glutton for punishment.

I recently purchases a Model # LSE4611ST slide in glass top range. I was very happy with it in the beginning. This past summer I was canning, the process was done, I laid a cloth on the unused side of the range and put my jars on it from the canner. I went out for 20 minutes, came in and found the front burner on and the cloth burned to the stove top. What I discovered was that when you leaned forward into the stove, the controls on the front of the stove are extremely flexible and it takes nothing at all to turn on the burner. I had a similar experience this afternoon and apparently touched a dial with my body and it turn it on while I was cleaning another section of the glass top. I almost set my hand on it and realized in time that the burner was on. I still like the range, just do NOT like that the control knobs are so easily manipulated. Thank goodness we dont have children in the house, it would be dangerous. My experience with LG has not led to a resolution. My issue that the knobs on the front of the range were very susceptible to touch and that it was easy to turn the burners on without being aware of it. I had a fire on my stove that burned thru a mat and damaged my burner. When the repairman came out he told me that was the way it was, there was no way to make the knobs more resistant to light touch. That this was the way it was. It makes bothers me that something so easy to fix to prevent accidents is deemed not viable by the company.

Heard good things about it from sales, however once I bought it and actually used it, I realize that the cost of this item was much higher than others and I could have been happier with a less expensive model. But I like the side by side which was easier to get what I needed, like the choice of colors offered too. I chose black. Not too much more I liked, the shelves were arranged with adequate space for big items like milk and juice. The freezer space is too small in width and limited in space for large items, the ice dispenser should have choice on type of ice and ice maker freezes too fast. Hard to find filters for it, ice maker broke and couldnt get a replacement. Will not buy again.

We were very excited when we bought our top of the line LG washer and dryer frontload set 4 years ago. Just ran into problems with a code popping up and the washer quitting after about 10 minutes of use. The only option was to drain and spin once that happened. When it spinned it sounded like a jumbo jet preparing for takeoff. Anyway, we waited 7 days for a tech to come out because there is only one authorized dealer per city I believe. He had to order a part so we had to wait 14 days for it to arrive. He put it in and ran the machine on empty and all seemed well. I mentioned the jumbo jet noise and he said thats not a good sign. Of course it didnt do it while he was there. He said if this part isnt the problem then you need a new circuit board and the jumbo jet noise would be the barrings and if that is the case its best to cut your losses. After that we put a light load in and the same thing happened all over again. Complete waste of time and money. While all this was going on, the dryer also started to smell like burning diesel fuel inside when we ran it. We didnt bother to call back. We are done playing games. We are moving on to Maytag. Never buying anything from LG ever again. I hope the LG tv we bought a year ago isnt a lemon.

After the third visit, I requested a refund, and the company wanted an original receipt and was just horrible customer service, and I was told that process could take 14 days. I was told without a receipt I wouldnt get a refund for their defective item. I am glad I had a receipt, but the customer service was so horrible went it came down to the refund process. The LG microwave (MW MC7688) was purchased by me on 30.11.2008. On 21.08.2012, we went for AMC, which is from 21.08.2012 to 20.08.2013. Some of the parts were not functioning so we lodged the following complaints: RNA ** dated 19.01.2013, RNA ** dated 23.01.2013, and RNA ** dated 31.01.2013. The service technician visited and verified the oven. He confirmed that one part is to be replaced, but that part is not available as the company has stopped manufacturing that model. Subsequently, Mr. ** called on 09.02.2013, and confirmed that the model is out of stock, and that the company will pay back 15% of the purchase cost. Then we spoke to Mr. Manish ** on **. He conveyed point blank and asked us to do whatever we want, but we will get only 15% of the purchase price. The purchase price was Rs. 8,499/- and 15% comes to Rs.1,275/-; whereas, we have already paid Rs. 815/- for the AMC cost.Is it our problem that the company has stopped production? If that is the case, then why was AMC taken? We need the part to be replaced or a replacement of a new oven.

LG said it was a design flaw and fixed it. Fast forward. Luckily we had taken the extended warranty out for 5 years. In the 5 years we owned it before the warranty was up we had to have it repaired a total of 5 times with the last repair being the refrigerator totally stopped cooling. LG replaced the circuit board and said that should fix it. It didnt. They came back out and replaced the compressor. This fixed it but not totally. We were without a refrigerator for 1 full month. We had to turn the temperature lower than what it was actually cooling. I should have called them out again at that point but it was cooling. About a month after the warranty was out it stopped cooling to where it should be. Called repair again. They refused to work on it. Said they did everything they could do. Plus if it was the compressor again we would have to pay for labor. Also if it was the control panel, they only have refurbished parts because they dont make that anymore. We were concerned about it not being fixed after paying a bunch for labor so decided to have it taken to the dump after only 5 years and purchased a different brand that is made in the USA. We originally paid $2800 for this piece of crap!

I have only owned this LG for a couple years. I wish I had realized this before I made such a major purchase. Please note: My LG refrigerator Model LFX 25978ST/00 stopped working - first ice machine failed, then it broke and is not dispensing ice, then freezer and then finally entire fridge - lost all my food. Called an appliance repair and they charge you to look and then they take their sweet time to fix. Last time it took 1 month, this time 3 weeks before he can come and look. They are the worst service centers. Last year it was conclusion was the compressor was also failed. LG guarantees its compressor for 10 years, BUT, only deals with certain repair centers, so I was already out $200 and needed to call one of only two LG-affiliated centers in my area. One quoted me 500 for labor. Scheduling the repair could take up to 2-3 weeks. There needs to be a class action lawsuit against LG. I purchased a LG refrigerator and I am going to make it my life project to talk bad about service and this product. I am so shocked that this broke down two time in less than a year. Nobody wants to repair it. They all say LG is bad product in Fridge. I have kids and NO FRIDGE. I thought LG was one of the best, but NOW I AM do not think so. Repair people are not outstanding service providers and they dont do a great job as far as I can see. Model: LFX25976 ST/00, serial: 011KREL00716, compressor is the problem.

I purchased Stove LRG30357ST and called about a problem with what seems to be stainless steel knob controls that melted off. Turns out, the knobs are plastic with some type of foil around them. They want 70 dollars each to replace and there are five knobs. We will buy a new stove before we pay 350 to replace knobs with cheaper knobs.Second problem has happened three times in the past two years and 11 months. Somehow, the knob gets turned in the on position either by accidentally knocking it or maybe the knob fully turning the burner into a safe position. We were thinking maybe our body was hitting it when using the above microwave or simply not turning off all the way. Normally, they make a clicking sound when its calling for gas and not lighting. We shook it off as a freak accident the first time. The second time really got our attention and we gave the kids a lesson on what was going on. The third time, we both were working and the kids microwaved some popcorn and must have bumped one of the burners. We have no idea how they could not have smelt the gas odor but it was so scary that we made another call to LG. We hope to here back since we have no choice but to get a safer stove.

I wish I could describe my experience, but there are no words for the dishonestly, incompetence, run-around, LYING, lack of responsibility, unprofessional, and just plain unethical, horrific conduct this company has shown me in spades and spades and spades. I purchased a very expensive LG Space Saver, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer about 16 months ago. Surprise - surprise, the compressor went out. The labor was not under warranty, but the part apparently was. Well, that would require even a semblance of customer service or honestly or even a mild attempt to care about a customer or fix a product. What I got was a vague reference to maybe having someone CALL ME in 2-3 weeks to MAYBE get out there and maybe fix the compressor. First, I was put through a bunch of dumb tests and waiting -- because yeah, a refrigerator SQUEALING, thawing out, and dripping ice down the door could be caused by leaving the door open for 5 minutes. NOT. And I didnt. Still, it took me a while -- playing LGs games -- to realize that nobody has any responsibility or integrity. That they lie as quickly and effortlessly as some folks breathe, and that every single person you talk to will give you a different answer or solution -- absolute no one will mean what they say or follow through. And they could care less how much of your time, effort, or money they cost you (I lost $800 worth of food; spent over 7 hours on the phone, talking to over 12 different people, many not even in the USA, being promised things that never happened -- only to be shuffled to someone else; being referred to their own repair companies THAT DID NOT EXIST! (Literally, I called all three of the companies myself because I couldnt wait 2-3 weeks for maybe. One, the guy was out for the next month or so because of surgery -- yeah, glad I didnt wait 2-3 weeks on him; one, they said they stopped working with LG years ago and wished theyd quit telling people otherwise; and the last one - phone disconnected). Yet, I could not get anyone at LG to understand why I wasnt willing to wait 2-3 weeks for someone at one of these 3 companies to call me!!!In the send you to ten different people, all of who will lie to you game (oh, and prepare to sit on hold for 30 minutes or more at a time, just to be rerouted to someone and start all over... again... and again...), I was told they had a repairman in the area and were sending him to my house now. Please hold. Please hold. Please hold. only to waste another hour and be told I needed to wait on one of the three companies. This went on for 3-4 days!!! Meanwhile, I tried to call an independent repairman -- my family actually needs to eat -- and what I heard from professional after professional after professional was a NIGHTMARE. No one would work with LG. LG does not pay their claims. LG compressors break all the time. Dealing with LG is a virtual nightmare. Etc! I finally found a company with a certified LG repairman (He used to WORK FOR LG) who said he would work on the warrantied part and seek payment for it from LG. (LG had already given me a useless approval # which I could use with one of those three companies. Are we really back to calling the unicorns and Santa Claus again -- newsflash, idiots! They dont exist!) Anyhow, after another day of dealing with a bunch of representatives not in the USA, I got a hold of someone who walked me through a ton of steps in order to send a pre-approved service authorization to the company I FOUND -- it would be in the companys email box in 24-48 hours. Guess what? Surprise - surprise. There was no email authorization; they never sent anything; they never called me back; and I guess they just lied at the time.So I finally paid to have the private company come out and check the refrigerator -- bad compressor. Of course, read the reviews -- everyone is saying this, so LG must know it! Well the company tried to get a hold of LG to schedule a date to fix the compressor -- they had my approval # and told LG I had been given authorization to use them and the authorization was supposed to be in their email box a week ago (oh, and they made me call the company and get a bunch of information, including this email address for this authorization email that never existed. Maybe they do this ** for fun??? Anyhow, the company Id hired could never get hold of anyone at LG -- no surprise there -- so finally went through their world-class (world being literal - class being a JOKE) customer service, only to be told that there would be no authorization because *I* the customer had an appointment scheduled for next week with one of those three original companies. ARE - YOU - KIDDING - ME!?! No one ever called me or scheduled any appointment, and as we all know -- those 3 companies were bogus to begin with. What the ** kind of operation is LG running. This is beyond PATHETIC. Its fraudulent. Moronic. Inexcusable. Sad thing is: I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANY LG PRODUCT AGAIN, no matter how large or small, and Ive already told everyone I know to AVOID THE REFRIGERATORS LIKE THE PLAGUE. Good going, LG.RUN - DONT WALK - AWAY FROM ANY LG REFRIGERATOR/FREEZER. Or at least call half a dozen appliance repair companies and ask what they have to say about this product -- youll get a surprising earful. LG has no customer service, and they couldnt give two ** if their customers ever get anything fixed, let alone in a timely fashion. If you have 20 - 30 - 40 hours to be given the runaround, to sit on hold, to be lied to and shuffled, to speak to folks all over the world who will each tell you a new and ever-more inventive lie, then by all means, buy this refrigerator. But if you think any part of it will ever break, then youre on your own. LG should be ASHAMED. And I hope theres a class-action lawsuit at some point because they need to be exposed.

We called LG service on Sunday to repair our 6 year old french door refrigerator. With the holiday, they said that they couldnt get someone here until Tuesday, so we made an appointment for Tuesday between 8 & noon. When no one showed up we called again and they said that they were having problems and couldnt get someone here until Wednesday pm. When we asked for a refund of our $300 charge on our credit card they said we had to go through some complicated BS and it would probably take 3 days for the credit to process! Will NEVER buy another LG appliance again!

Cons : you still need to pre-wash vessels, remove all leftovers, and then put in the dishwashers; steelware does not feel so clean at times; I am scared to put in plastic due to heating.

I have had nothing but problems with our LG Waveforce top load washing machine. Since day one, it has been unbalanced in almost every single load. It doesnt matter if its a small load, normal size or large load. It is always unbalanced. Because of this issue, the machine tries to fix itself, which ends up using 2-3 times the amount of water just trying to get it balanced. So, when you buy this unit thinking you will save money of your water bill and that its energy efficient, think again. The 45-minute load ends up taking 2 hours and 3 times the water. Another issue I have had is the pulsator. It just pops off the bottom of the drum in the spin cycle. We have had to fix it multiple times and now is unfixable. We will either need to replace the whole inner part or buy a new washer. I have called LG multiple times with no help at all whatsoever. I wish I could go back to my old Kenmore washing machine that lasted 15 years with no problems at all.

Have had an LG French Door refrigerator for close to 5 years and it is already breaking down. Have taken great care of it, replacing all filters when needed, keeping it cleaned, just went in back of it and cleaned out any particles or dog hair and yet it just wont stay cold. In addition, it mysteriously stops making ice many times. Despite everything seemingly working. All of these issues have started 1 month after a maintenance guy from LG came by to service it. Making it seem all the more of a bad buy. Look at a different brand!

We have tracked the knobs for 5 months since the first two incidences and today after last night, I am junking this new oven and buying a safer one-too dangerous to give away. NO it wont be an LG. Back in 2012, I purchased $8000 worth of LG appliances for my kitchen and laundry. Long story short I have replaced the dishwasher, it could not be repaired. In September of this year, the microwave exhaust had a mind of its own. It would come on and off by itself. To use the it I would plug it in and unplug it. The part to repair it was more than half the price of a new one. In September I purchased the model LMH2235ST. A short time later the exhaust fan stopped working. I called customer service more than a dozen times. They gave me a case number and said they will call when to set up a date to come and repair. After many calls to them they kept saying they would expedite it. I have heard that several times more. I have asked them to send another to my home with a return label, but they said they could not do that. I called customer service just now December first, now I dont even get to speak to anyone, the recording says to go online. So thank you LG for nothing!!

We bought the LG Steam set back in May 2009. With a big family, it was such a blessing to get a large capacity elite washer and dryer! We used our tax money for this expensive set with the premise the company pledges: that we would quickly reap the savings of this energy and water efficient washer. Well 4 1/2 years later we have a broken washer with a bearing assembly that needs replaced. The washer kept filling up all on its own and leak, then it wouldnt drain and then getting stuck in the midst of a cycle. We would have to drain the tub and ring our clothes out by hand (we have 7 people in our family). Then it finally quit spinning altogether. It has been a mess to say the least. Total cost to fix it? Repairman said in the $800 range. That is ridiculous for a machine that is less than 5 years old and was so expensive to begin with. And it sounds like this is a manufacturing problem as I read so many others who have this exact same thing happen. Can we say class action law suit? Sign me up.

Fix for mildew smell in LG washer: Use a half cup or so of plain old cheap vinegar in every load. It takes the smell away. Add it with the detergent you use. We use 2 or 3 cups in heavy loads of towels. Our old top loader, my mothers front loader, and our new LG all needed it. Nothing we ever did took the smell away. For us it was a combination of the water in our town and our washers. Just try it. Your clothes will not smell like vinegar. We hated that smell and this fixed it. Anytime we forget to add it, we get the smell again. A gallon of cheap vinegar costs 2, maybe 3 bucks at the most? Seriously, try it on a few loads of towels and youll be happy.

We have had 4 service calls with replacement of the seal, the door, and tightening the hinges. It still leaks and the foreign speaking folks in customer service just create another service ticket with a new company so they keep stringing us along inconveniencing the homeowner with an all day stay at home, wait for the repairman day so when they leave, I still have a washer that leaks. This is my first LG product and will be my last. I hope everyone starts to wake up and find another company to purchase from because LG by far is the most despicable company to have to deal with. This is the worst washing machine ever invented! The 23-year-old Kenmore I replaced was still running and better than this. If the drum hadnt developed rust spots, I would have kept it. If you want a science project that grows mold, this is your machine. I wiped out the gasket with Clorox wipes, leave the door open when not in use and it still grows mold. My towels smell like someone urinated on them. I have had service out here and nothing is fixed. I was sold tablets to wash the drum with; did not fix the problem. This was the biggest waste of money I ever spent. I want my old Kenmore back. There is no quality any more, the dishwasher I bought from Sears is of poor quality too. I like so many others, purchased my French Door LG refrigerator on 11/13/2015. Almost four weeks ago I walked into the kitchen and discovered a puddle of water on the floor. Called a local repair service and they came over and said it was the board. They ordered a new one, which took two weeks to get. Installed it and guess what, that wasnt the problem. Its the compressor! I has to call a certified LG repair service and they have ordered the new part, said it will take 7-10 days to get. So hopefully by the end of next week it will arrive. In the meantime after reading all of these complaints I have called NBC News Better Get Bacquero and am also filing a complaint with the District Attorney in NYS. I suggest that everyone who has these issues (there seem to be over 1900 of us) do the same thing. By the way, if you check out the complaints re: the Kenmore refrigerators also made by LG there are a total of over 4000 complaints. Something needs to be done!!

I waited 40 years to have a nice kitchen, and I was taken in by the good looks -- and yes, I admit, the blue oven -- on the LG. What a mistake! We bought the 5 burner gas range, dishwasher and the microwave with the expanding vent. The dishwasher was a lemon out of the box -- Lowes just picked it up and left a new one. The microwave vent kept popping out, no way to secure it. We had to take the same product as a replacement because the bracket was drilled in the new tile wall. Waited TEN WEEKS for the replacement. I can faintly smell gas from this range; a snarky local repairman insists its my imagination. I entered a second complaint when the oven started to fluctuate wildly - set it at 350, it soars to 475 and then drops to 300. I love to bake and gave up on my holiday baking because this was so bad. The repairmen - from a second place - gave me a little lecture about reading the handbook and not using an independent oven thermometer. I havent cleaned the oven since these issues started -- Im afraid it will start a fire. I wasnt happy that LG never followed up on my complaints, either. I want to replace my refrigerator next -- you can bet it wont be an LG product. I am bitterly disappointed in this stove. I feel like Im stuck with it unless I just toss it to the curb. I could never sell it to anyone. Im calling again tomorrow and telling them I want it replaced, repaired or refunded -- I dont expect any satisfaction at all. I wish I had found this page before I bought LG products.

We bought a brand new refrigerator from LG in 2013. No issues for 5 years.
We bought a brand new refrigerator from LG in 2013. No issues for 5 years. Around October 2018, the refrigerator stopped working and the refrigerator leaked water and damaged our floors. We called LG for repair and they said that the compressor is under warranty and we will need to only pay labor, which was around 350. So on October 31, 2018 the compressor was repaired and full service was done my a LG technician. The refrigerator again stopped working on Feb 23, 2019 with a compressor issue. LG gives a 90 day warranty on repairs. So I contacted LG and requested if they can waive any fees related to this repair as I was just 20 days over the 90 day warranty. I got a rude response from LG after multiple attempts to follow up. They essentially said: RULES ARE IMPORTANT THAN CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I was shocked. It was bad enough that a replacement compressor broke and on top of this I had to face this from them. Anyways I got a licensed LG technician to come out and take a look at it.The scheduling of tech visit is another story. 2 different people called me from LG, one saying the tech will arrive on Friday evening and the other saying Saturday morning. The tech himself called and he said Friday evening. I didn’t know who to believe. Finally the guy showed up on a Friday. He looked at fridge, said it’s a bad compressor and said there is a lot of dust, so he cannot repair the fridge. Now am I supposed to open the back of the fridge and clean the compressor? Apparently that’s what this tech expected. He said clean it and then call me. I will not touch it unless someone cleans it.Please note that the same fridge was repaired by another LG tech some 100 days back. After this experience I said I had enough. I just got a used GE fridge. Some 12 days after, LG called to inquire the status. I told them I took their product to a dump, they said OK and were happy that they did not have to fix it. They didn’t even think once to apologize for this or give any compensation for the 2 times I lost weeks of grocery in a full refrigerator. LG sucks !! If you buy LG, life’s gone!!!

Bought a new floor model LG refrigerator from a local big box store. Got it home. Wouldnt cool. Called LG and after 3 different companies, being stood up by LG factory tech 3 times and 5 actual service calls to the house and 2 1/2 months later still have a nice looking not cooling refrigerator. Waiting on parts to be changed out for the 2nd time. Refuse to replace.

Our dishwasher needed a new motor when it was 3 years old and cost us $300 in parts and labor. The fridge gives poor water pressure, scant ice because the flap that should close automatically doesnt. The range stopped working last week after we used the self cleaning mode. We replaced the control board for $ 150 and the repair man came today because all that the new board did was get the clock to work again. We now need a power board for $170 parts and labor. These appliances are not and have never been abused. There is no excuse for all these repairs. LG is garbage. Never, never again will we consider anything made by this company.

For the second time in 6 months, a drawstring from two different pairs of shorts was trapped in the door hinge while the dryer was running causing several pieces of clothing to get caught on the string and twist into a tight knot. Both times I found the dryer stopped and the door open. OK. But try to get the drawstring out of the hinge! I worked for 15 minutes both times. LG NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. There is nothing in their literature that says you may not put items with drawstrings in the dryer. I had a beautiful 1993 Maytag for 27 years and this NEVER happened.

It started when I called a washing machine professional to repair the washing machine as it has stopped mid cycle. It will not drain or spin. It will fill up and then that is it. The tradesman came to the home and pulled a hair band from the filter and that was it. The washing machine is began to work fine. Now 7 months later, the problem is happening again. Filling, then sitting in a load of water. My husband has drained the washing machine manually and checked for any further blockages and this all appears to be clear. It will not drain so that I can take the load of washing out? I am so frustrated.

I own a LG Electric Front load washer dryer. The biggest disappointment is the Dryer Drum. I have already replaced it once. And now it is cracked again, and it is $200 just for the part. The stainless steel used is almost paper thin and always cracks near the welded seam. This is a DEFECT! I am looking for a regular steel drum in my next one, (they never cracked on me) and find it hard to even look at LG products other than matching the washer better.

Absolute worst customer service ever. $3000 Refrigerator stopped working one month after going out of warranty, so basically at the 13 month period. Had to purchase a repair plan for $350 to get it fixed. Repair person has been here three times and it is still not working over one month later. I have been living out of coolers for a month now. Now they are telling me they have to get authorization to order a new part, which if that goes through wont arrive for another week. This is ridiculous that we should have to go through this for this long. I replaced all the appliances in my kitchen last year with new LG and this is what I get. I have an old freezer in my garage that has lasted for 20 years without issue. Should have stuck with it.

I bought a 4 door LG refrigerator. Its a French door on top with 2 freeze drawers in the bottom. I paid about $50 more to get a counter depth which is fantastic for the space in my modular home with an air vent in front of the space. This model has plenty of space in the refrigerator compartment. It looks like changing the water filter will be easy and convenient. It does have a drawer at the bottom which is nice but it would have been a better design if it would slide out when only one door is open on the refrigerator. You have to have both doors open to utilize the space. The same with the right side drawer that holds produce. You cant get it open all the way before the left edge hits the center strip of the left side French door. I have only had it a month so will have to do another review after 5 years. This LG is a replacement for a 4 1/2 year Samsung that had constant problems with the ice maker freezing up.. I Will never buy Samsung products again. Their Customer Service is atrocious.

Purchased this LG Refrigerator Model LFX25974 on July 3, 2013 from Home Depot and was delivered on July 16. 7 weeks later, the freezer and refrigerator stopped cooling. I contacted LG and after 2 customer service reps, they had me run the self diagnostics on it... which showed I depleted my ice too quickly.... Seriously? The ice was water! LG arranged to have an authorized repairman to come out. The appointment was confirmed with the ApplianceMan in Westerville, Ohio for Thursday, August 29th between 1-5p. NEVER SHOWED!!!! When I contacted them Fri. am, was told they lost my appt. After they arrived Friday afternoon, was told I needed new compressor and evaporator and parts ordered. 1-2 weeks before they come in and then need to schedule another appt to fix.... According to the other reviews, this seems to be the trend with LG. I will never purchase another LG appliance

It’s tempting to say buying this product was the worst mistake I’ve ever made, but that, of course, would be an exaggeration. However, this washer is terrible!!! Just like the rest of you, uneven load is the norm, LG basically doesn’t give a crap, and we paid pretty good money for this hunk. Our water bill - hahaha - efficient??? Absolutely the opposite because it takes like 6 runs to get through a load. My husband has tried to throw the washer through the window, straining his back and causing medical problems. Plus we have to go to marriage counseling now because this piece of “machinery” has caused so much stress. Dirty clothes are mounting regularly, our clothes are never fully clean... I wouldn’t be surprised if I get fired from my job for not smelling good! All joking aside, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I wish we had an old school washer.

My drum cracked like a lot of others did along the front seam. I ignored it for awhile until the noise got too loud. I took the drum out. If you do this, keep track of the sequence that the parts came off and what screws go where. Its not that hard to do. I cut a thin piece of sheet metal to cover the crack and along the outer rim of the drum, drilled 5/32 holes and pop riveted in place. I ground down the pop rivets so they wouldnt catch on the clothes. The dryer is back in service and the total cost for the repair was $2.75. But have no doubt about it, LG products are nothing but cheap overpriced junk. Do not buy!

Called LG - this is the only technician they have. LG called and I have to wait. I am at their mercy. Service Technician showed, called complete and product serviced and working. Not the case. This is regarding open ticket which has been going on since December. Dryer is still under warranty, it was purchased in August. It does not dry correctly, get flow sense and D80 error message. Per LG request, we serviced our exhaust system and checked all the ventilation and house flaps, duck ductwork etc. Twice. Proof can be provided. All is fine on the house side. Error messages happens even with dryer is not connected to the house, which rules out the house. Its a new construction as well. Triangle Appliances has been working on the dryer since then and replaced everything LG has asked them to. Still not working. As of yesterday, Triangle Appliances deemed it unrepairable per their expertise and written proof of that will be provided. LG refuses to replace it and says there is nothing else they can/want to do regarding repairs. LG is under warranty obligation and refusing service. Please forward this to the right department, for resolution or we will be taking legal action. Also, let me add that the only LG technician available in the area (Durham, NC) was incompetent, not professional, rude to my wife and showed up without parts (he did check they were on back order) and blamed us for it. This is why we ended up working with Triangle Appliances, LG approved, and they have been great.

I owned LGs LFX23965ST for about 18 months. For the last 6 months, the ice machine has not worked. It started diminishing in ice production and then just quit completely. I have tried resetting the default temps, unplugging for several minutes and replugging, changing the filter, and verifying the water supply line, but nothing helps. Water dispenses normally, but the ice maker is a complete flop. Then I read about how another customer was thrilled at LG sending a tech to his place to replace the motherboard that operates the ice maker (amongst other things Id imagine) because this problem is one that LG has known about for some time. Yet to me, they simply replied that there was nothing I could do and that I needed to schedule an appointment. So lets see. Should I continue using my 50 cent ice tray in the freezer or call in their $150/hr tech? Hmm. If this had happened to a car maker, theyd recall it and make good on repairs. LG? Never again will I buy this companys appliances.

I bought an LG fridge (LSC27914ST/00) at Sears. Just after the warranty expired (one year after purchase), the ice-maker started dumping the ice tray to the box and then pouring the water straight to the box and then to the kitchens floor. Of course, the water situation repeats until somebody realizes and turns the ice-maker off. For the first two or three months, just putting back on position the tray was enough for a couple of weeks of good performance. Now, it is enough only for a couple of ice-making cycles. My husband and I bought our LG refrigerator about 14 months ago. We were not offered an extended warranty and did not think to purchase one in the midst of the chaos of purchasing our first new home. Setting that aside, I recently contacted LG with a problem and they refused to help us saying I needed to pay a service company to come out for something I feel they should take responsibility for. The issue being that a screw had come loose behind the ice maker and completely unaware, had dropped into our ice causing it to go into my husbands smoothie. While in the NutriBullet I heard a noise, assuming it was the ice, like it always does, then when it continued I went to stop the machine, it was too late, because just then the screw burst out the side causing a terrible mess everywhere. Now I need to replace the cup and chopped up blade to our NutriBullet. LG wants to take no responsibility whatsoever. I personally feel they should at least send me a replacement screw and possibly help pay for the replacements. My opinion is this was a defect and should be covered, being it was barely out of the warranty period. I am just glad that no one swallowed that screw causing physical damage. My advice... Be sure to get an extended warranty, if its not offered, ask for one! Products just arent built like they used to be! (It was quite baffling trying to figure out where a white screw came from... Until I traced it back to the ice machine, and there it was, an empty hole behind the ice container.) Now to find a replacement screw for it, I cant afford to pay for a service call for a little screw. Amazing how something so tiny can make such a big mess! :/

If I could give warning signs or negative stars I would! Bought my first machine about a year ago. I havent had a working washing machine since. The machine didnt work from day one. My husband called the company and got the run around for 3 weeks. I contacted Home depot and they got an LG authorized repairman to look at it. Needed a water pump (so they say). Mind you it has only been used twice. They also warned me of the special low-sudsing soap needed (another excuse). Home depot replaced it. However, the second one was just as bad as the first and had the exact same problems. As far as the soap, I ran it with no soap and had the same issues. My last two machines lasted about 10 years each with one service visit between them and they used any kind of soap! They werent top of the line expensive machines either. Im ready to eat the purchase and chuck this piece of junk. The company should give free service to everyone who bought their junk products for 3 years or be sued for selling substandard lemons. No way were they unaware that their product was junk. Two machines in a month and neither work. I will never, never buy an LG product ever again.

We purchased the LG French door, bottom freezer about 5 years ago. We spent the extra money because we thought that LG was one of the best at the time. This model has only the water-in-the-door; icemaker in bottom drawer. The salesperson showed us why THIS bottom drawer was better than others with the same idea: the gear-type rollers were more substantial and the slides were larger. The rationale was that it would be more durable. In the past year, the freezer drawer is becoming harder and harder to pull out and/or push in. I have taken the bin out and found grease/graphite on the bottom of the unit and along the left rail. Water from the icemaker also tends to build up as it sometimes drips onto the left rail, making the rolling very difficult. After wiping it out, it seems to be fine for a few hours...then its hard again. We have had it with LG appliances. We had an LG dishwasher that nobody would work on. The LG washer/dryer that we have, are doing OK for now, but the bellows in the bottom of the washer where the water is pumped has cracked twice in 5 years, allowing water to run get on the floor. I should have had a pan put under the washer, but this indicates either bad engineering or bad design.

Purchasing LG products is a piece of cake but the quality is awful. My dishwasher already had to have the board replaced within the first year. The compressor of the refrigerator went out completely. We lost our refrigerator and a freezer full of food. And trying to get customer service by phone to help me was ridiculous. The only reason it got fixed as quickly as it did was because I had to complain on LGs Facebook page to get anyone to respond to me. The manager that I spoke with on the phone whenever I called to get the refrigerator repaired was an employee of LG. He was rude and disrespectful. We loved our LG French door refrigerator with water dispenser. However, like many reviews here, it stopped cooling after only 20 months. After two weeks of reporting and checking on the repair request, we still don’t have an appointment to repair and a customer service supervisor hung up on us even when I politely suggested that No, I couldn’t wait an additional 24-48 hours for an appointment. When I contacted three area appliance repair services they said they won’t fix LGs unless we pay their labor costs and apply for reimbursement for parts from LG. LG does not reimburse their labor so they stopped working on them. Then, this would cancel the warranty agreement with LG and we wouldn’t get any money back.

If you look at my original review of 10/3/19 and the companys final reply of 10/8/19 it appeared that LG intended to do nothing more than leave us holding the bag as it were. However, without further contacting us at all, LG contacted a nearby service center and sent a new door to them and arranged for our door to be replaced AT LGS EXPENSE. The service man said the old door was going to the dump, so I guess LG didnt need to trust but verify that it was a warranty issue after all. They finally decided to do the right thing. All of our appliances and most of our TVs are LG products. They will all be replaced with another brand when the time comes. The Linear Compressor in the french door refrigerators are known defects. Good news is that a class action lawsuit was filed against LG. I had mine diagnosed by a local repairman. He says he sees at least (2) of them every week and sometimes several more. Unfortunately, he was not an LG contractor so he could not get the compressor directly. I would have to contact LG and get authorization letter he can use to order the part and I would have to pay him for labor on installation. I didnt want to have to deal with LG (customer service sucks!!). I called their helpline and explained that I needed someone to replace the compressor that was covered under parts warranty. They said I would have to pay another diagnostic fee. The the tech could schedule the repair. A 2500 refrigerator that lasted (5) years and now I am paying to have it fixed. The Kenmore in my garage is over 20 years old and I have never had an issue with it. Fool me once, shame on you - fool me twice, shame on me. I will not buy an LG appliance again. I have a 2 year old white French door refrigerator on which much of the plastic has yellowed: ice maker surround and trim on doors and drawers. As others have reported, we now have expensive ugly refrigerators and LG refuses to correct the problem, calling it cosmetic. I wonder how many LG execs would happily live with this cosmetic problem. Good plastic does not yellow; vinyl fences look great for many years despite constant exposure to sunlight when they are made of UV-resistant vinyl. LG just made a serious error in plastic selection and does not care enough about their customers to fix it or rebate our cost. So I am reminded every day why I will never buy another LG product and will tell everyone I can to stay away from LG.

DO NOT BUY AN LG COUNTER TOP REFRIGERATOR FREEZER AT ANY PRICE!!! On Nov 3, 2013, I purchased an LG refrigerator-freezer model #LFC21776ST, Serial # 308TRJL49636. An extended warranty was also purchased to service this unit from New Leaf Service Pro, located at 909 Lake Carolyn Pkwy Suite# 900, Irving, TX 75039.On February 2, 2015, I reported to the warranty company, New Leaf Service Pro, that the freezer was not working, and that the automatic ice machine was not functioning. On February 6, 2015, a technician was sent out. He wrote up the issue that he adjusted the temperature controls. On May 15, the same issue was filed with the warranty co. This time, the technician said the ice bucket was not sitting correctly and that was why the ice was not forming. The very next day, I contacted New Leaf and told them that the freezer was still not working and the ice was not freezing. They told me to unplug the unit and replug it, and also to flip the circuit breaker. Again, on August 1, 2015, the same issue was occurring and I contacted New Leaf and asked for a new company to come out. They refused and said they could not change the service company in the middle of the issue (thus stating that it was the same issue all along). On Aug 6, 2015, once again New Leaf sent out a technician who said the computer board needed to be changed. After waiting 2 weeks for the part to be delivered, a 4th repair call was made on August 22, 2015, a fifth service visit was made and the computer was changed. THE UNIT STILL DID NOT FREEZE!After 5 failed attempts to repair this lemon LG refrigerator-freezer, the service company refused to replace the unit and finally sent out a new service technician for a second opinion, for a 6th attempt to repair this lemon. By this time, I had been without reliable or functioning freezer service since February 2015. I had to discard hundreds of dollars of food. This time, the repair company said it was the compressor that had to be replaced. Even though the compressor was covered by LG for 10 years under the manufacturers limited warranty, they refused to deal with this compressor failing because I had the extended warranty. The extended warranty company said they would not repair it unless I signed a damage waiver for them to enter my home (meaning that if they scratched my flooring or damaged a wall, they would not be responsible). I finally ended up removing the unit from the warranty company, and I am now on my own. I still do not have a functioning freezer since February 2015. Do NOT buy an LG unit and do NOT cover it with an extended warranty from New Leaf Service Pro.

Multiple calls to LG, and was promised that after 3 visits and 3 parts replaced it was deemed a lemon and would be exchanged for new range. Never happened. 10 months and 8 tech visits later, and I still dont qualify for exchange/replacement. Executive services is useless. Adrienne (the supervisor of all supervisors) asked for receipt and invoice to be faxed for the resolution team. Faxed immediately after conversation and one week later was told I STILL dont qualify for exchange or refund. When I asked her what does qualify she said, as an LG customer you are on a need-to-know basis. She refused to tell me! I have not encountered ONE LG person who has been helpful or even nice. Also had a very strong smell when turned on. March 2015 unit shut down completely. No electronics again, but this time the oven kept heating. Guessing temperature was over 500 degrees. Had to unplug at wall to cut power supply. Feeling very vulnerable to starting a fire. Spent approximately 2-3 hours on phone with LG customer service in the Philippines. Was cut off twice. Uploaded required invoice as requested. Phoned again 2 days later. Sent invoice again. Still waiting on response from advanced team as to what (if anything) they will do for me. Returned to store for help, but they offer no help unless you have purchased their extra insurance. This situation is appalling to me. Do not buy LG. What a waste of money and time.

LG GL-M522 GNSL-2015. I bought in May 2015 this fridge as I required a bigger one. But it is bigger just in terms of model specifications. In fact its designing is so poor that it does not fulfill my only requirement of more space to use. I am happy that I didnt sell my old small LG322 l fridge otherwise I couldnt put even a small size watermelon or a normal size jug in the fridge. At the time of purchase even its door sensor was also defective. When technician came, he told me you should take AMC of this fridge as its maintenance is too costly. Its PCB only costs Rs8500, service charges 680/-. I am very scared if I have to repair my fridge, what will I do.

We have a LG4801CW top loader washing machine that has had a slow leak we just discovered, as there was never water visible on the side or front of washer to indicate leaking. However, overtime water has been leaking out of the back of the tub as far as a plumber can tell going behind the washer and under our trim and tiles/sub floor. After a year and a half of having the washer we noticed two of our tiles had cracked by the washer. When my husband pulled up the tiles, we found mold and water in the sub floor around the washer and more cracked tiles hiding behind the washer. We have contacted LG and they wanted to charge us to come fix THEIR FAULTY PRODUCT that was 1.5 years old because it was no longer under warranty. Pretty sad when they dont stand by a product that is 1.5 years old. They were supposedly reviewing our case and would get back to us in 3-5 days, yet have not and we have called them several times and it has been a lot longer than 5 business days. I feel like we are getting the runaround and Im sick of having a torn up house. Because of the damage to our flooring and since we have an open floor plan this has resulted in ~10,000k in flooring we have to tear up because we cant just replace one section. They no longer make our tile and we are out of extras. The plumber that came out said dont buy LG products as the design is too new and are very frequently faulty.

Our fridge has the freezer on the bottom. It saves my back not to have to bend down to look in the fridge! We also like that it’s small and compact and doesn’t take up much space. The three shelves in the main body of the fridge serve us very well. And the shelves in the door are varying sizes and are all removable for cleaning!
