You HAVE to clean the dishes before running the dishwasher or they will not get clean. We bought repair or replace insurance: all that is good for is having parts replaced because they will not replace your entire unit... They spent one yr. putting new parts in this new dishwasher. The man sent makes me wonder if LG even knew this was going on! They were not much help.

We have been owners of LG appliances for over a decade. We bought them all washer, dryer fridge and dishwasher. We have had problems with several them for which we have received no appropriate support. First it was the washer or all the writing came off the front within 3 months. I was told there was nothing they could do. They couldnt send me new letters to reapply. Oh well too bad. We moved on. Then there was a dishwasher conveniently right after the one-year warranty we had a problem and had to pay $250 for service call for which the gentleman was here for a mere few minutes to fix the problem that most likely could have been fixed over the phone with direction, not costing us $250.Then just 14 months after this we end up getting a pinhole in the drain hose of our dishwasher which floods our sons basement bedroom. Causing numerous panels of our ceiling to be damaged and need replacement not to mention the wood floor below it that is lifting. All these are problems associated with a faulty dishwasher. When we call to report this problem we were told we had to buy a new hose mechanism and that would solve all of our problems. So sorry about the other damage to your home, not our responsibility. So we paid the almost $100 for a new hose, waited a week for it to be sent to us and we had it replaced. Then we come to find out; Oh so sorry your dishwasher must be reset by a specialist. Yep you got it. Another $250 will be necessary to get your dishwasher Ive only a few years back up and running. If the first rep had told us that then the hose would have been covered in the service call.So we are expected to spend $600 on a dishwasher that cost us 800 within a few years. Not acceptable. We ask to speak to a manager. After holding for almost a half an hour we get told a manager will call us back. We are third in line. That was last week. It is now Tuesday and we are still waiting for a return call. I will never again never purchased any LG products whatsoever. I will also share my opinion for these products openly and freely as I am doing with you. I have worked in a manufacturing environment for many decades. What I can tell you is no manufacturer is 100% perfect. But, what shows a great manufacturer is what they do after a problem is brought to their attention. It is apparent LG doesnt care after you spend your hard-earned money on a product of theirs. They will ignore you, push you away and not care whether you buy another Appliance or not because they are of the false impression that we will forget about this and spend our hard-earned money on another one of their faulty products. That will not be the case at least with us. So I warned you check in to the manufacturer and how they deal with customer service complaints before you spend your hard-earned money on anything of any manufacturer but especially LG.

LG direct drive washer - Luckily we didnt purchase this machine, it came with the home we purchased. Tried to use it but after many many problems from unbalanced loads constantly to the final straw which was water leaking into the machine after it was finished working. It would half fill overnight. Purchased two LG refrigerators both breaking down same way. Thought the first time was just defect; now after reading blogs and comments just poor manufacturing. On the first unit 1mth after buying, fresh food storage stopped keeping food cold and freezer stopped freezing. After 3 attempts to fix through LG, I refused a fourth try. They refused to exchange. Home Depot absorbed the loss and exchanged the refrigerator, which they didnt have to do. Now 2.5yrs later of course bought LG, like I said 1st time bad luck. Now again refrigerator not cooling, had to throw out food last night and again today and the freezer now not working, of course, warranty expired after first year, and they cant help me. Have 4 kids, can barely afford to buy food and make it last. Now Im throwing it away and cant get help. Why would a Refrigerator stop working only after 2 1/2 years? Poor manufacturing. After checking internet blogs and complaints, found out thousands of customers have had the same problems, have been reported it, and have gotten no help, have to pay out of pocket and have someone come in and diagnose the problem then order the part directly through LG. The company should be ashamed of its self for not resolving a problem like this when families buy their products because of past reputation of being reliable - $1200.00 paid and only lasted 2.5years. Now will cost me between $200.-300.00 for the repair. I will never recommend or purchase another LG product again. Thats why they only warranty their products for 1yr only. For a purchase this big and important storing food and knowing all families and people in general have the use for this item, they would have more integrity.

We were at ABC Warehouse and they had a good sale going. We needed a refrigerator and got one. We had our LG refrigerator for a couple of years but I cant believe they would build something that turns out to be unrepairable for something as simple as an ice maker. You gotta turn it in and cant repair it. It had something to do on the inside of the refrigerator that was causing the ice maker not to work, and you couldn’t get to it as it was sealed. I don’t have the LG refrigerator any longer. People came and got it and were waiting for a check. It has been a month and a half, then I called this morning and the check is going out on Monday. We paid 1,500 for it and were getting 1,200 back. Somebody has to deal with that program. They made a unit like that to where if it doesn’t work, they gotta replace it then send out a check for $1,200. That’s not too good of a way to run a business. If they keep something that works, we would have stuck it out if it was something as simple as replacing an ice maker. Excluding the ice maker, we loved the LG refrigerator. It was great.

Purchased a BRAND NEW Kenmore Elite 2014. Within 6 months, had a frozen drain which froze up the food in the refrigerator part. It was under warranty, so fixed without cost. I lost food though. In Jan 2019 the evaporator, compressor and dryer broke!! It would have cost close to 1,000.00 to fix, so I bought a service contract with Sears, monthly cost of 50.00 to cover all the new appliances I had purchased from Sears. It still cost 99.00 for the diagnostic. I lost food again!!! Now July 10, 2019 the evaporator broke again, not even 7 months old and again I LOST FOOD!!! LG you owe me for all the food I lost, in addition to lost time at work to be home so the repair people can FIX MY LESS THAN 5 YEAR OLD REFRIGERATOR.

I have all LG products. Fridge ice maker went out 3 times in a year then 4th time at 18 months. So no ice maker the last year or so. Now today I lost my microwave (lmhm2237st). Just stopped working at 18 months old. LG said pay for an extended warranty for like $360 when the microwave is only like $400. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. My GE honestly last 16 years. My LG a little over a year. What a scam. I will never buy a LG again in my life.

We were building a new house and were looking for appliance packages. We really liked the appliance package and LG refrigerator because it had this cute little window in the door. It was a good price as well, and we liked the refrigerators features. The little window in the door is my favorite. The refrigerator has French doors and I can open just that part, like a little window door, of the top door and keep stuff in there. We had some issues, though, with the water dispenser on the front of it. The repairman called it a continuous water feature. It wouldn’t shut off when you press your water on it. It kept going on with water or ice until you locked it. So we had to have it repaired probably within the first month we had the refrigerator. But since then, it has worked fine. I’m pretty happy with my LG refrigerator.

Got this LG top of the line unit October 2015. Within a month the water began filling through the detergent AND softener trays simultaneously. Did the digital wifi help thing dozens of times with my cellphone, they said nothing wrong, clean your inlet filters. What??? By December the tub failed to fill with enough water at all to wash anything, regardless which tray side was filling from. A load of Pure Colors came out literally with dry spots in the clothing! Add to that, the balancer within the direct drive unit was slipping badly, somewhat similar to a bad car clutch, and any size load on any cycle was being violently bashed against the inside frame. Sounded like my front door was being kicked in. So, to sum up, I have $878 worth of scrap in my house that will not fill properly, wash properly or spin properly. I still have 7 more months on the financial contract, and Im sick about it.LG finally hooked me up with an in house service guy --- he never replied to the 2 service calls that were set up --- and closed out both tickets saying customer reported solved. Really? By the way, the name of this place was Als TV and Model Railroad so that about sums up the quality of LG service!!! My lawyer is requesting certified copies of LGs warranty, the financial contract, and my phone and web interactions. I dont want to feel as if my only option is legal action, but I will if LG leaves me no other option.

We bought an LG top loading washing machine in July of 2014. Initially, everything seemed to be okay, but after the warranty expired, the machine started showing the ue code. We tried everything the owners manual suggested to no avail. I contacted the LG service center and was told that it would cost 224.94 for a one time repair. That would have been acceptable, except that LG wanted the payment upfront! Now, I dont know of any business that requires upfront payment, except for special orders. We ended up calling a local service company for service. We will see how that plays out. He is scheduled for about two weeks. I will never buy an LG appliance again.

I requested assistance with my washing machine on the 15th of March. Nobody pitched, on Friday, I phoned again and was informed that one technician was on leave. She would send somebody on Monday. Nobody came. I phoned again on the 22nd of March. She said she will ask the technician to come on Friday. That Thursday afternoon, I received an SMS saying that they would be at my house. Unfortunately, I was in town to collect my daughter and asked them to be there 16:10. When I got home at 16:00, they left a note saying they were at my house and I was not there. The next morning, I received an email saying that they would be coming on that Friday. I requested them to please come at 13:00 when I am home from school. The lady replied that the technician will be there before 13:00. I told her again that I am teaching and Im not allowed to just leave. I will notify her if I leave earlier, which I did. Then Louis came and told me the rubber was perished, that he does not have it in stock but will order it. It should be here the next week. I kindly requested him to notify me on the day that he will be coming, in the morning, to say whether he would be coming in the morning or afternoon. He promised me that he would phone me an hour before he comes. Today, he sent me an SMS 30 minutes before he stopped at my house. I had no idea that he was planning on coming today, so I was in the gym at the point when he sent an SMS. I did not hear the SMS as there is loud music in the gym. I am totally dissatisfied that he cannot respect me as a paying customer and have the decency to ensure that I did receive the message and that he cannot respect my wish to know in advance which day he will be coming. We are on holiday and I might have been at the beach with the kids, then I would also not here an SMS. I feel it is unfair of him to expect of me to sit and wait at the house until he one day decides he is coming to fix my machine. Today is the 26th of March and my machine is still not fixed.

We bought our French door refrigerator around December of 2018 when we purchased our new house. We have loved our unit until one day both of the coils for the fridge and freezer part went out. I placed a repair order in August of 2020. LG outsourced the repair work to a local repair shop which was fine. Here it is 10/25/2020 and we are still without a refrigerator. I have contacted LG and the repair company numerous times and nothing is being done about it. LG has basically washed their hands of the whole situation and put it on the backs of the repair company. I got tired of waiting for the refrigerator to be repaired because we have a large family (family of 8); I called LG back once more and requested LG to replace or refund the money from the initial purchase. Since then we are going on 2 weeks and I have still yet to hear from LG as to what the decision is on replacing it or refunding the money. We was happy with the unit while it was working but since then it has been a complete nightmare and I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT AGAIN IN MY LIFE because of this incident. I hope my review helps clear the air up for anyone thinking about making a purchase of a LG product.

Bought top load washer & dryer. Very first load ripped almost new $85 shirt and washcloth half. Called LG and they sent repair person out to view shirt and washcloth. Told to return it to HH Gregg and get a new washer, did so and contacted LG to pay for shirt. After sending tons of pictures, many calls, they refused to pay since I no longer had the original machine (go figure??? Their LG repair person said to return it). Often have to rewash clothes, not enough water, loud, major wrinkles, etc. Then a recall for the machine comes and schedule appointment with LG for repair person to handle recall. They come out, update software to the machine??? and then tell me not to wash anything in the machine that sheds water (waterproof? like mattress covers, etc.). Hmmm. Then he tells me my dryer doesnt dry because there are sensors in the dryer that get coated with dryer sheet film and it confuses the dryer. Oh and the replaced machine ripped another shirt, even though you have to button shirts, pants, and turn inside out!!!! LG washers/dryers dont wash and dry like regular washers and dryers we have all been used to in the past. The new save water costs more water and electricity by having to rewash and dry so many times. LG COULDNT CARE LESS EITHER AFTER YOU HAVE BOUGHT IT! We will never buy LG again and if you can hang onto your regular washer, do so. Its better for the environment and your state of mind.

UPDATE- LG did send a repairperson on August 2nd and a new compressor was replaced. I was told this refrigerator has defective compressors. A&E repair sent the new compressor prior to the repair date so it would be here and I wouldnt have to wait for it to be ordered and wait even more time, which I was very grateful for. I am now waiting for LG to call me for compensation to a French Door refrigerator that was full of food that was lost due to this problem not to mention the inconvenience this has caused. Thank you LG for coming through. I wish you would have been as attentive to my 52 tv when that went not even 2 years old.

Purchased product for new home in early 2015. Two and a half years later, (before the fourth of July holiday), it died. Stopped cooling. Waited for several days, since repairman came to our area once a week. But that was just the service call. After close to $1,000.00 in labor, service call and tax, one week later the repairs were made. Refrigerator worked until lo and behold two years later almost to the day, the same issues occurred. JUNE 13, 2019 to be exact. This was a Wednesday and of course the day service is available in our area is Tuesday, we waited a week for the service call and a second week for repair. Compressor and several other parts replaced again. As the repairman was getting ready to leave, the fridge DIED. He stated he knew something was really wrong with our unit and claimed it unrepairable.Enter LG. No you need to replace the heat exchanger. It is now over two weeks since this repair and still no fix for refrigerator and it is Wednesday so you can bet no resolution until AT LEAST next Tuesday if at all. Mind you we are under warranty for parts and labor which we should have been two years ago also. We will never and will advertise to all the new builds on our community website to stay away from LG Refrigerators. Spent over 2 hours on the phone with LG service and no help whatsoever. So bottom line --- Dont go the LG route. Buy American.

We bought a home with a new LG side-by-side refrigerator already installed. We have been in the house for 4 years and have had a service call on the refrigerator freezer at least 5 times. 1. The fan motor went bad, so the compressor shut down, causing food to defrost. 2. Water would not flow from the dispenser or to the ice maker. One of the solenoids was bad. 3. The ice cube tray that makes the ice was warped, so the water would overflow into the ice bin and freeze all the ice together. Apparently, the heater for the tray causes the tray to warp over time.4. The hose in the back that supplies water to the icemaker developed a leak and soaked our floors. This was repaired and it re-occurred multiple times. This issue is so common with LG that there is a procedure on YouTube on how to replace and repair the hose. I have owned refrigerators for 20 years with no problems. I believe LG definitely has a quality problem, so buy at your own risk.

This dishwasher was bought April 2013 and since we got it, it has smelled. First like something burning then like garage and it still continues to this day. Service men tried to tell us that it was just new, then to use vinegar and open the door when finishing a load. It still smells and we are so sorry we bought the three LG products. Fridge, washer and dishwasher. On the cup I rubbed my thumb and you can see how easy the stain comes off. The bowl needed a little more effort, but it cant clean fresh chocolate pudding from a dish. The washer has a gap where it makes the cloths move that is too big and coins get caught and rips the cloths.

This is an 18-month-old LG refrigerator and is the second time it has suffered this failure. I have now been without a refrigerator for 9 days - over Christmas no less, and I am now told that it will be at least another week - with no confirmation on that - before I have the parts. I ordered parts from the LG supplier as given on the LG website - MCM electronics. They never shipped the part. Then when I spoke with them again they reluctantly said they would ship with another shipper claiming it was the shippers problem - but USPS, the original shipper says the parts were never available for pickup. One of the two parts did arrive and - my fault - it was not the correct part. I cannot track the second part as they never sent purchase confirmation e-mail and they are closed. Then I ordered the same parts via Sears - the website said they were in stock but Sears now confirms that the parts were indeed not in stock at LG and that it will be at least another week until they arrive, but they cannot confirm this. Parts are also not available at Repair Clinic.com. This appears to be an LG purposeful action to force you through an LG repairperson as the parts are not available from anyone - its an easy fix if I can ever get the parts. I need to file a complaint against LG and on Monday I will follow-up further with the State Attorney Generals Office and the Better Business Bureau. At this point - over my dead body will I call for an LG repairperson and I will never again purchase anything from LG.

2017 FH4U2VCN Front load washing machine - Quite the most unreliable machine I have purchased in 60 years. Constantly stops at the rinse/spin stage with uneven load flagged. After 6 months of this I had LG engineer call and make the usual excuses too much load, too little load, wrong type of mix. What a load of tosh. To placate me he replaced the motor and housing to what seems no improvement whatsoever. It is now 12 months old and unless it is fixed once and for all it will go back to Currys and legal action will follow. The machine fails to complete on average three out of every five washes. At this point Currys is not in the picture as servicing has to go through LGs totally abysmal website where they cant even manage to email you that your complaint has been received - just warning you only to sent report once! What the blazes is that about?

When we purchased the WT5101HW Washing machine we did so because my Maytag Neptune machine (Which contributed to Maytag going bankrupt) had to be replaced. I had thought LG would be a great experience, I was wrong. Initially the machine worked well and was efficient as expected, however that did not last. My wife noted that the clothes would smell musty and the machine took a long time to finish. We cleaned the machine monthly and left the lid up when not in use and put up with the lackluster performance. Last year things became decidedly worse when frequent UE errors began to appear and the machine would fill with water to almost the top. When I contacted LG an appointment was set for a technician to repair the machine. The first visit was a software update. No effect. The 2nd visit the Stator Assembly and Rotor Assembly were replaced. No effect. The third visit the Housing Assembly, Clutch Coupling, Stator Assembly, Rotor Assembly and Pulsator Assembly were replaced. Issues persists. The fourth visit the PCB Assembly, Display was replaced at which point the service rep indicated that just about everything replaceable was replaced. The machine appeared to work ok for a short while, however still using excess quantities of water and sounding like a helicopter landing when in spin cycle. The UE errors persist. We lived with this a while and then my wife mentioned our water bill has about tripled ever since the repairs. On contacting LG again I was told they would be happy to send at our cost a service technician and that the machine was now too far out of warranty for any other recourse. The original issue was never resolved and persists.I can no longer in good conscience recommend any LG Washing Machine. I have multiple short videos on my phone of the machine filling with water in attempt to balance and with the UE flashing in the background. There is no True balance as advertised and if high efficiency means using more water and being prone to developing black mold then the machine is highly efficient, just not in cleaning, conserving water or energy.

I bought this microwave oven (Model LMV1813ST) August of 2013. Its warranty ran out a year later or August 2014. Within months, the front door of this unit came apart. The outer glass fell down and the whole door disintegrated. I called LG customer service and they initially said they would assist me with its repair then they pretty much blew me away. They gave me the name of an authorized repair shop that quoted me a repair bill far more than the unit is worth in the market new. I asked LG to reconsider and provide me with a number for upper management. They asked me for photos of the unit and its defective door then they pretty much have ignored me. They did not do anything and would not give me a number to corporate or management where I could have address the issue further. I must mention that like other consumers I bought two other appliances at the same time. All have had problems but fortunately for me it happen prior to the end of the warranty period. I believe it is fair to say that these LG products are cheaply made and not meant to last very long. LG tries to sell you over and over again an extended warranty for its products and it appears to be part of this corporate greed to gain profits on known defective products. I have looked at this microwave oven and its construction is not made to withstand the heat from the stove below for very long. The whole plastic door becomes unglued from the moisture and the heat naturally emanating from the stove while cooking is underway. The microwave is not made to withstand normal use for very long. It must be an obvious known fact to any industrial or appliance design engineer that the unit will not last. I do not believe LG should be allowed to be in the market to sell defective products at the expense of the consumer’s safety and pocket book. I would like a government agency to look into the LG quality control (if there is any) and sue this company for malfeasance and intentional sale of defective goods for consumer’s households. I would like to see a class action suit against LG. Do not buy an LG product. I will tell all I know my experience with LG appliances and other goods. I have bought other LG devices, which also have broken down within days of purchase. I can prove and attest to what I am writing here.

The machine was bought from best buy, around July 2013, everything was working fine until 11/18/2013 when it started to leak from the bottom of the machine, there was no error code, it just kept filling up with water and leaking out, at the bottom. It continued to leak even after turning the machine off it was a mess it I hope it hasnt ruined my floor, called LG they thought it might be the sensors coated with detergent scum. So suggested I run vinegar through machine…We did, it did not solve the problem. We called best buy who sent out a repair person within the hour. He discovered after removing the back panel that the little clear hose that is connected to the tub and connects to a small drain tip that is connected to in the back of the machine had be pulled loose. The hose did not have a lot of give, so when the basket rotated it pulled it off. He gave it a little more slack, and it seems to be holding but we will see what happens… All in all, the machine has been working beautifully. I do not use any detergent on my clothes and they always come out clean and smelling clean. So when they say you need very little detergent I can see why. We also bought the matching dryer which is also fantastic…I called LG and let them know what Best buy found so they could notate, and make some changes. I will keep you updated on any other glitches.

We have only had this LG French door refrigerator since February and we have run into the same problem with the fan freezing twice this year. To make matters worse, we went through both LG and HHgregg - it was a hassle from hell. Going between two services for repair is long and painful. The tech guy came and had it working for 4 hours. We have tried everything. We are not happy with this product, but it seems like they want us to wait until theres a third problem that occurs. Right now it has, so now we wait. Bottom line: They need to give us a new fridge!

Bought an LG refrigerator in 11/2017 with the linear inverter compressor. It quit working in 6/2021. Even though the compressor is covered with a 10 year warranty, I fear that it will be replaced with another faulty defective compressor. We have an LG technician coming soon and I will provide an update on the repair status. I give the refrigerator one star because a failed compressor in just 3.5 years is a bad sign coupled with a class action lawsuit against LG for producing a defective refrigerator.

I bought a LG Electric Range, Model # LSE4611ST in Feb. 2020. I have just used the self-clean option and it did not clean the oven completely. I used an oven cleaner and now I have white blotches all over the oven. I have never owned an oven that could not handle oven cleaners. I would like to know how to fix this issue in my $1600 range. Very upset this happened to my fairly new range!

We noticed LG refrigerator was stopped cooling and freezing on October 10th. We were told the option would be to repair or refund the cost of the LG refrigerator when we initially spoke with customer service on 10/10/2021, but a service technician would have to come and evaluate refrigerator first. On Oct 25th, a LG refrigerator repair was completed. We were offered a $200 spoiled food compensation which we have not received to date. On Nov 12th, the LG refrigerator stopped cooling and freezing: keep on mind it was repaired 2 1/2 weeks earlier. So, I called LG and requested a refund of the cost to replace it with a new refrigerator. Obviously the refrigerator and/or LG part is defective. The LG rep told me LG would not authorize a refund until another repair was done per LG PROCESS. I asked to speak with a LG supervisor who offered me a 15% rebate towards purchase of another LG refrigerator.I told the LG rep that was absolutely unacceptable, and asked to speak with whoever would authorize a full refund. The LG rep said that her department does not authorize refunds, and could not proceed with my request per LG process. The only option i was given is to set up a second repair appointment on Nov 18th with same service company A&E. I was then told by the LG rep that after the second service appointment, if LG refrigerator is still not working, then they would be able to proceed with a refund request. I again asked for a second spoiled food compensation, and was told this was only offered once a year. Therefore, we would not be compensated for second set of spoiled food. I went ahead and set up second service appointment on Nov 18th, while I figure out our next step. I spoke with A&E to try to get a sooner appointment, and queried whether they were using a new or refurbished part for my repair. I was told the part is ordered directly from LG to complete the service repair. So again, the defect is in the LG parts.

It will be saved and used in or on something else. Keeps food fresh so that I always have something I can eat or fix for my family and if thirsty they can also find something to drink and it will taste good. But maybe keep my cat and or dog food to keep fresh also and keep things to drink and consume when it is wanted.

My kitchen was filled with 2 LG appliances; a microwave, and a refrigerator
My kitchen was filled with 2 LG appliances; a microwave, and a refrigerator. I’ve had LG products in previous homes as well and although I’ve had to fix them from time to time they have been generally good products. So when it came time to purchase a dishwasher and a range oven I wanted to have a matching set so I went with the LG dishwasher and range oven.My refrigerator is 6 years old now and was not cooling down properly. I called your customer service line to see what could be done and they gave me the name and number of a local technician. I called and set up an appointment with Duncan Home Services. They diagnosed the problem as a faulty compressor. Although it was an inconvenience, I was pleased to remember there was a 10 year warranty on the linear compressors that were in my model of refrigerator (LFX28968ST/01). I called customer service on April 22nd of 2019 to see about getting the compressor replaced. 44 days later and 7 hours, 21 minutes and 42 seconds on the phone with customer support… I still do not have the correct replacement for my faulty compressor.I was given a case number of **. I will detail my dissatisfaction with your call support team later but here is a summation of the issue. In response to my request for a warranty replacement of the compressor, the Tech was sent a compressor with the model number of TCA35533604. This part was identified as a “backup replacement”. The Tech had installed one of these in another refrigerator they worked on just like mine and they knew it didn’t work. Therefore they would not install it and charge me the labor. They determined the correct part was TCA35893202. When they called to order that part they were told it is on backorder until early July.I don’t know if you’ve ever gone without a refrigerator for 2 months but when one is used to it being there, it is ridiculously inconvenient. The summation of what I determined from your customer support team was that I had 3 options that are policies that they say are set by you. 1: Wait another month for the part to come in. 2: I was offered 20% off a new LG refrigerator. 3: If I could produce the receipt then I could be given a new refrigerator. My problems with the above proposals are as follows: 1: I’ve already waited a month and cannot wait another month for a part that may or may not come in. I will be forced to purchase a new refrigerator from one of your competitors. 2: An equivalent replacement refrigerator will be another $2000 minimum. 20% of that is $400. I don’t have $1600 available to buy from a company that is doing a horrible job honoring their Warranty. As I said, I’d prefer to buy from someone else. 3: I know that the refrigerator was purchased at Lowes, I know that it was on or near Black Friday of 2013 but I do not have the original receipt from 6 years ago.I proposed 2 solutions to the problem, but the customer service supervisor said that she didn’t have authority to do either of the 2 options and only you did. I proposed the following: 1: Since the Tech determined that the compressor that LG sent was incorrect they would not Warranty their work. Since I have to pay labor for the installation as that is past the warranty period of 5 years, that is a problem. LG could warranty the work of their tech so I am not on the hook for when the part doesn’t work.2: The correct part (TCA35893202) is available through local appliance parts outlets and retails for around $279. LG could provide a voucher to the tech to purchase the part locally. This would be the quickest and most cost effective solution for all parties in my opinion. So if you could authorize my Option 2 promptly that would be fantastic. I am merely asking for a timely and correct replacement for a warrantied part. Now I spoke with at least 6 different supervisors. They are the 2nd tier of customer support. I have no issue with the first tier of support. They were all professional and as helpful as they could be and got me to the 2nd tier fairly quickly on seven of my ten calls. The 2nd tier of individuals however were the opposite. All I was given were first names so that is all I can provide. They were; Daniel, Brea, Jessie, Jem, Jessica, and Tyesha.Daniel: Daniel informed me that he would send an email to the parts guy Cyrus about the availability of TCA35893202 and he would call me back. That was early May and I never heard from him. Brea: She was generally pleasant but couldn’t help me any. She told me the tech would have to call the parts department to see if the correct compressor was available. (The tech did call and was told that the correct compressor was on backorder.) Jessie: Jessie appeared to be helpful and told me that he/she was going to send an email to Cyrus as well to see if the part was truly back-ordered. If it was, he/she could issue a replacement refrigerator (Which surprised me and I did not ask for.) He/she said I would get a phone call later… I did not, again. Jem: I’m not sure if I have the name right but she basically hung up on me and sent me back to the 1st tier people. They put me back through to the supervisors and I got Jessica. Jessica: I wasn’t particularly pleasant with Jessica as I was beyond frustration at this point. She responded by being extremely unhelpful and refused to walk through the notes of the previous 7 or 8 calls I had made. I told her what Jessie had said earlier about the replacement but she told me there was no Jessie in her office. She ended up telling me that TCA35893202 was NOT back-ordered and it was available but the tech had to order it. (The tech did call again to order it and was told that the part was still back-ordered.) I feel that I was blatantly lied to.Jessie: Imagine my surprise when I in fact got Jessie again despite Jessica telling me there was no Jessie. This time Jessie offered me the 20% off a replacement refrigerator. I told her that was not satisfactory, nor was the waiting until July for the part and that I could not produce a 6 year old receipt. She put me on hold… for a really long time until… Tyesha picked up the line and I got to re-explain everything to her. Tyesha: She just continually reiterated my 3 unsatisfactory options and told me there was nothing she could do and my only recourse was to write you a letter. So here I am. Should this situation not be remedied by my Option 2 listed above or a better idea you come up with yourself I will never be purchasing any LG product again. I will also never recommend an LG product to any family or friends. Although they are not particularly effective against your bottom line, these are my only options for recourse and I will pursue them endlessly. Thank you. Mark **

LG Washing Machine model WT1101C - After 2 years of normal use this machine failed. It was sold as heavy duty. Under normal use the drive shaft broke off inside unit. Called customer service and was advised to call service tech in our area, he never returned call. Under the LGs useless warranty they stated we would have to pay for service call. Filed complaint with BBB and went no where. Also, supplied pics of receipt and broken part. They offered a possible courtesy visit from tech and would not supply replacement part or refund. Guess they will go out of business if they had to honor their warranty for all the POSs they are unloading on the consumers. No customer service or ethics to this company. No stars for this company. The LG refrigerator I purchased in October 2017 failed to freeze or cool on August 8, 2020. I called Appliance Service Center USA, waited online for 20 min and asked for service. They offered ASAP, I said yes, they said the soonest would be August 18! ASCUSA said I could buy a countertop refrigerator or rent one and they would decide if they would pay for it! The tech arrived and looked at the unit for 5 min. and said the compressor failed. He said he does not know why he was sent because he didnt work on that repair. He asked for a new service date and said they would call me. New service date would be August 24! The unit was repaired with a new compressor but who knows how long this one will last. Two things here, dont purchase an LG refrigerator and if you make that mistake, plan on no repair service for weeks. Who needs a working refrigerator anyway!! What a disaster....

I purchased an LG Washing machine with the pedestal back in April of 2010 for $1,309.95 from P.C. Richards. After 3-years and 4-months, my machine stopped spinning and had a loud squeaking noise. I paid about $400.00 in repairs at that time for a power cord and the computer control panel which completely burnt out. After the P.C. Richards Repair Man left, I washed exactly 2-loads of clothes before the washer stopped spinning and I had to call the Repair man back from P.C. Richards to find out what the problem was. Well after the 4th visit from P.C. Richards Repair Men, I was told that a Ball Barren was missing and it would be a very expensive job to do. With that being said, I went for a second opinion and was told that was indeed the problem which would cost me $500.00 to repair. You know when people purchase expensive appliances like washers and dryers from Manufacturers like LG, they expect the product to last at least 10 to 15 years. I am deeply disgusted and appalled. What can I do to seek punitive damages? I am a working mother of 3 and am at a hardship to make ends meet and cannot afford a new washer right now which I was told by the repairman I should purchase a new machine. In TEARS, can someone help me please?

My first unit came with a manufacturing defect where the housing unit inside the fridge housing. The styrofoam kept coming apart and wouldnt stay put. LG and Lowes recommended that I just exchange it for a new product. Besides that one manufacturing defect, the unit worked fine; it was quiet and efficient. Now, after a week the second and replacement unit was delivered. Oh boy, LG has some major issues they need to fix. First, the unit comes without one shelf on the freezer side. This was remedied by them saying they would send one out to us. Second, this fridge is much louder than the first unit we received. It makes a constant humming noise, which is quiet and we wouldnt have thought much of it, but we had experiences with our first defective unit to compare it to. Heres the kicker though. Occasionally, the fridge will start rattling. Its not too abhorrent, but when we open the fridge, the shelves will make a vibrating noise that gets amplified. I contacted LG support again to ask how to remedy this because we werent sure if it was a leveling issue or something else. The agent that I was connected to just tells me to unplug it and plug it back in, and adds that if it isnt resolved we would need service for a fridge that we had just received. To top it all off, the serial number matches a fridge that was made in April 2020. How terrible does your quality control procedure have to be for this to happen? Im 0/2 in receiving a brand new perfect product. I went with LG because people said they improved (partially because of my Korean bias), but man stay away. Currently debating if I should ask Lowes to replace the unit or if I should go with a completely different refrigerator. Terrible. Just terrible.

I dont write reviews but this company is terrible even the authorized repairman will tell you to find a different brand. I bought the bottom freezer fridge five years ago. When I purchased my LG Washer I was so excited! I researched washers and chose this particular company because I read reviews that discussed the quality & quantity capabilities of this particular brand. I spent more than I had planned on this purchase because I wanted a quality washer. I loved this washer, it was the one thing in the house that I told my family I truly enjoyed using. I recommended it to my friends who were looking to purchase a new washer... It was the best appliance I had EVER owned...THEN IT HAPPENED! The intake valve on the washer messed up and needed repair. That was okay, everything has to have maintenance. So I called MULTIPLE appliance repair shops (11 to be exact), and was told time after time, Maam we dont work on LG appliances, it is impossible to get parts for them. So I called Lowes (where I had purchased the appliance), they no longer take care of parts but instead give you the number of the place to order parts for the products they sale. My husband called the number, ordered the part (which he paid for so it could be shipped to our door)... He was told the part would arrive in 7-10 days. We watch a video on how to install the part and wait for it to arrive... That was in OCTOBER!!! Todays date is December 27!!!After two weeks we called and was told it was on back order but should arrive in another two weeks. Second call was told it was still on back order may be two more weeks. Today when we called we were told the part can be found NOWHERE IN THE USA. He said they were trying to get one from Korea, and would try to let us know something in the next 24 hours about how many more weeks it would be... Listen, I am generally a calm patient person, I grew up in a house with 14 people, I understand waiting your turn. However, I also own a company and I know that your product is only as good as your customer service & support! It doesnt matter how great the product is... If you cannot repair it when it is broken... IT IS JUNK!I will NEVER buy a LG Product again... NEVER! I am trying to save someone else from the same heartache of walking past a brilliant, expensive product on your way out the door to the laundry mat. If you are part of the LG team please learn from this review... You have a great product, but unless you improve your customer service, and parts availability... You will not last long. I will most likely have to purchase another washer, and move forward from this mess. IT WILL NOT BE AN LG APPLIANCE.

I had the identical problem to someone else on here. We bought the LG French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot and the little hinge on the top of the door broke off and the door was constantly staying open. We just lived with it because we had previously had a problem with a new LG washing machine and nobody in the area would service it! I was told by a serviceman that LG didnt pay them for warranty work and although I dont know if that is true or not. I do know that I couldnt find a serviceman to fix the washing machine, which we eventually disposed of, even though it was less than a year old. Anyway, we moved from that house and happily left the beautiful LG refrigerator with the broken door hinge and lo and behold, the new house that we bought, had the same refrigerator and shortly after moving, the hinge on one door broke on that one too. LG definitely seems to have a quality problem with their appliances and I wouldnt buy one again.

This is the second microwave of this model. The first one worked fine for a year - until a few days after the warranty ran out. It was cheaper to buy a new one than to have it repaired, so we bought a new one because it matched the rest of our LG appliances. This one lasted less than 3 months. Home Depot requires 3 repair attempts before they wil take it back (even though we have the extended service plan on this one), so we got in touch with LG again. The same repair man came out and took it apart and put it back together again, saying he couldnt find what the problem was. It worked after that - for 1 day. When I called the repair company again, the tech said he would contact LG for us and get it taken care of. He did contact them, but we have only heard from them once to request more paperwork. Still waiting for the follow-up call a week later to get a refund. I will never buy another LG microwave. Very disappointed in their customer service.

I purchased an $1800 refrigerator in the Spring of 2020 and it stopped working 9 months later. It is 9 weeks since I first reported the problem to LG. Two technicians sent to my home and authorized by them can not fix the broken compressor. LG is refusing to replace or refund and keep directing me back to customer service where we start all over again with overseas representatives reading a script and not seeming to grasp the situation. In trying to figure out how to reach a human who could move forward with a promised replacement, I discovered tons of other disgruntled customers dealing with the same frustrating experience: non-working products still under warranty that LG is either incapable of repairing or unwilling to replace or refund. Not worth the risk—buy another brand.

I have attempted to leave an informative useful & detailed review about the quality (or lack thereof) on LG review sites however as the review was unfavourable for LG I have had the review rejected multiple times citing does not meet our criteria. Basically I was being silenced. I have an LG refrigerator that is faulty & is still under warranty. I have tried every which way for LG to honour that warranty & they in return have have tried every which way dishonor it. Very stressful & disappointing to say the least.

We purchased a high end ($2,249.99) LG side-by-side refrigerator last summer. Almost exactly 13 months after delivery (the warranty is 12 months), the ice maker ceased functioning. We called LG Customer Service and were told they would try to get warranty coverage and get back to us within 3 days. Four days later, no call, I called back and got the same runaround - they would call back in 3 days. Four days after that, I called again and they said they would call back when they decided what to do. Meantime we are still without an ice maker on an almost new refrigerator we paid dearly for and no one wants to fix it.

Purchased an LG side by side model #LFXC24726S several years ago (2015?). The compressor went out and after reading the angry reviews on this site, I feared the worst. I called up LG, and after about 10 minutes they had scheduled a repairman to fix the fridge in two days. LG overnighted the replacement part and paid for the repair. The fridge is now humming along and everyone is happy. Thank you LG for the excellent service!

This machine rarely gets my clothes clean. It does not seem to have enough water to really clean. The worst part is the mold and mildew on the rubber seal and drum that is impossible to clean. I do use the tub clean, vinegar, and bleach but still have brown slime covering my clothes and bedding. I think it has made my husband and I sick from the mold and mildew that we cannot get to and clean. We are told to leave the door open so it can dry! Why would a machine be made that you have to leave the door open (which we do) and have to constantly clean. It still does not help. I would not recommend the LG front loader.

I purchased an 4.5 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity Top Load Washer Featuring Powerful Stain Care Technology Model: WT4870CW in March 2014, in addition to the companion dryer. I purchased this product as reviews had been good, and the price was right. It has been the worst machine I have ever owned. In spite of trying various settings, and contacting the manufacturer, clothes just dont get clean, and even today, linens that I took out had more stains on them than when they went in. The clothes dont agitate, and even if you use a setting that adds more water, the clothes just dont move around. They come out in the same position as when you loaded the machine. Forget using a water-saving setting - the clothes are barely damp. The machine will go off balance if there is anything, even one item, that is of a different weight. It resets itself endlessly. I miss my old Maytag and cant wait for a reason to get rid of the LG Washer. The drier is also a problem, but I guess I can live with wrinkled clothes more than I can with dirty ones. Dont buy an LG.

I purchased a LG electric range Model No. LRE30453ST on 11/25/2011 for $885.90 from Home Depot. Unfortunately I hardly used the oven to realize I was sold a defective range. The electronic control pad does not work for any of the oven options because the start sensor is defective. I called both Home Depot (Store 2901 - 228-867-9925) and LG (1-800-243-0000) customer service departments. I was told by LG they only have a one year warranty on their products and Home Depot told me that they only have a two year warranty period. All I know is that I have basically a new appliance that took me 1 years to pay off and it is now nothing more than a decoration taking up space in my kitchen. Shame on LG Electronics and Home Depot for selling defective appliances. I make just a little over minimum wage and have no way to purchase a new range. This makes me so mad. I have had ranges that lasted over 20 years and now my range just sits there doing nothing!

Electronic board has been replaced but LG refused to permit the first repairman to replace other parts that he thought were defective. I have wasted 1000 dollars on a machine that wont spin. I wish I had my 15 year old Whirlpool back. I bought the machine from Home Depot and they refuse to do anything until the original year warranty is out. First, I like the fridge. Its attractive and when it works, it works great. However, the sealed refrigerant system, isnt. The week after the 1 year warranty ended, it stopped getting cold. Fine. Repair guy comes and refills refrigerant (didnt both checking for leaks or question how a sealed system lost its refrigerant). As expected, a few months later it dies again. He comes back and refills it, AND finds a leak which he repairs and replaces the compressor. Fast forward another year. Fridge dies again, and the saga with LG Customer support begins. I call. Explain the situation. The nice gentleman takes my info, says hes going to request a warranty extension to cover it. Then I wait. And wait. And wait.I call back two weeks later to inquire as to whats going on. Evidently he had misfiled it, so they had to start over. New guy takes the same info, insists Ill have to pay for repairs, but (after I demanded) said hed put in a request, but that I should get a call back 72 hours later. I give it a week and call back. Person I talk to says its still not decided and should get a call back Thursday (that was a Monday). Another week... I call the following Monday. Its now been over a month since I first called. Im told that my request for warranty coverage was denied, and after I asked, he tells me that it was decided last Thursday. At this point, I become unhinged and unload on the poor call center guy (I feel bad about this part) about how disrespectful it is that they cant be bothered to inform me of the status at ANY point along the way, nor follow up like they say theyre going to, and demanded to know what they were going to do about making this right. He gets his supervisor to override the decision and Im getting coverage finally. Great. They send the work order to a repair place in Los Angeles (Im up near Santa Barbara) and tell me that theyll be there the next day between 8-12. Next day, no show. Maybe I misheard him so I wait another day. No show. So I call back to ask whats going on.Evidently, the appointment was declined. So nice of them to let me know before I took time off work to wait for the guy. Fine... When can I get another one? to which they provide me with a phone number for the repair place (Repair place has 1 star on Yelp with 30 reviews btw, so you know Im expecting greatness... #sarcasm).I call repair place for the appointment, and they tell me the code they have from LG to cover the repair is no good, and Ill need to show the original purchase receipt. I understand having to show the receipt, except that LG knows from our history with them that Im the original owner. Ok fine, Ill dig that out, but what about the authorization code? They dont seem to be able to explain who is supposed to get that squared away. On the plus side, the repair guy did show up for the second appointment and determined that the compressor was shot. Now we have to wait AGAIN for LG to decide whether to replace it or the entire unit. For comparisons sake, heres how this SHOULD have gone down: 1. I call them. Tell them the history (which they already have) and explain the current situation. 2. They apologize profusely for the trouble, and the several fridges full of food Ive lost, and promise to get someone out ASAP. 3. Within 2 days, a repair guy shows up, determines its a similar/related problem. 4. LG offers to replace the entire fridge since this one is a lemon.

We bought all brand new top of line LG appliances...refrigerator alone well over 2,000.00 in Fall 2017. Loved the new appliances but in Fall 2019 a compressor went out in the refrigerator. Yes, LG covered the replacement and repair but what they don’t want to tell you is the refrigerator will never run quiet again. We have had to call the tech back three times to come look at it because it runs so loud. We bought the product because it was super quiet and our kitchen is close to our family room and bedroom. It will wake you up at night. It runs with vibrating noises, humming, etc and LG’s fix is sending an email with acceptable refrigerator noises. What a joke.I told them if it would have ran like this when I originally purchased it would have been taken back in the first 30 days. The tech comes and states it’s a little louder than normal but not a single thing is being done. The tech calling LG while he was here was a joke too...all they could say to do is take off some clips to see if vibrating stopped...guess what?!?! It didn’t and it is still loud as ever. I will never buy another LG product and would never recommend.

LG Microwave Mod# LMC0975ST/01. This microwave came with a very user friendly owners manual, that I like. Unlike my other microwaves this one has a hexagon rotating ring with six wheels for the glass tray to sit on. Plus the glass tray has glass bump outs on the bottom that fit into a bump out shaft on the microwave bottom. No more dislocated dishes falling or sliding off. This microwave has performed better than I expected and I have enjoyed using it from day one. It has all the usual programs like, Smart diagnosis, Auto cook, Auto reheat, Popcorn, Defrost, Power level, Cook time, Stop/clear, Start/enter, interrupted cooking. There is a beautiful sleek smoke glass full front panel that will match any decor. I found the tip section on what to use, or not to use, when it comes to microwave-safe cookware very useful. There is also a Child Lock safety feature, and the sound signals are very audible on this microwave. There is a clock, Kitchen timer and a easy to use, slide touch timer. Dont forget to read the maintenance section. I found it very helpful. Limited warranty for Canada or the USA, is provided at the back and there is also a 1-800 number plus their website.

We have called the LG company several times but they keep repeating the same thing, Adjust the temperature. But we have adjusted the temperature several times but it does not help. We are seeing that others are complaining about a faulty compressor. I bought a top loading LG washer from Home Depot in March 2016. By October 2016 it was smelling like mold & mildew. I did everything I was suppose to: use washer cleaner in it and run cleaner cycle once a month, it continued to get worse. I contacted LG Customer Service & Tech Support in December 2016, they scheduled a repairman to come out. He put cleaner in it & ran a cycle, and confirmed the smell. I called a week later, complained again. They sent repairmen out 5 times over the next 3 months who each did the same thing and confirmed the washer stinks, at this it reeks, and each time they said it was unrepairable. But, LG would not deem it unrepairable over the phone on Tech Support with the repairman and this is the only way you can get a new washer. Two different repair services were coming out at this point and both refused LG request after multiple visits to my house. So 3.5 months later I had wasted 5 work days waiting on repairmen time windows of 5 to 6 hours to come to my house, pour cleaner in my washer (which I am a very competent, college-educated person who can pour cleaner in a washer and press a button) & then have both repair companies tell me they will no longer waste their time coming to my house. I also has a plumber come out and inspect my lines and hookups ($114.00) cost to me and tell me the smell was definitely coming from washer. Now, LG says nothing else they can do!! I was sold a lemon, had it less than six months, and started having issues. LG is the worse company I have ever dealt with. They make you jump through hoops like a circus dog and beat you down hoping you will just give up. This company needs to be held accountable for their non-actions. Please do not buy LG products!

I purchased this range in April, 2017 when the contractor that was installing flooring damaged my Whirlpool range that I had and dearly loved. In speaking to the salesperson she spoke very highly of LG products and talked me into purchasing a model with the convection oven (LRE3061BD). In August, 2017 the fan in the oven started making a screeching noise. Since then the fan has quit completely. I called LG and they sent a new fan, motor and electric board. I have had 5 different appts for the repair company to come out and fix the oven; however, no one has ever shown up. Each time when I call customer service I get the same answer, We will have to locate a service company and they will give you a call in 48 to 72 hours to set up an appt to repair. I have taken off work 2 of these 5 times and no one showed up. When I called the service company they stated that LG told them I had cancelled the appointment. I will never purchase another LG product because they dont stand behind the product and their customer service is horrible. I work in a very culturally diversified company and I can understand dialect and accents very well; however, it is very difficult to understand the customer service representatives and they are very rude. They will not listen and talk over you. I have spoke to a Jeannie, Rodney and Donald and all of them have the same answer... I will have a service rep call you within 48 to 72 hours. Knobs on stove disintegrate & become nonfunctional & break. This is my 3rd replacement of knobs, & I will need a 4th replacement soon. The first 2 were covered by extended warranty. The knobs when bumped, can easily, cause gas to escape. The can happen with the lightest bump, & is generally unnoticed, by individual, until the strong gas smell is evident! My communications over the years has been extremely frustrating, & unacceptable. I was told that knobs are ornamental by one employee. Another claimed it was my misuse because I left the oven door open. Once someone told me I would get replace the knobs free within a week. They never came! I finally bought new ones for about $275. The plastic overlay on what appears to be a metal knob is beginning to crackle. That means the cylinder that holds the knob on is soon to break. I bought the latest replacement knobs less than 6 months ago. It seems to me there is a sufficient case for a class action suit against LG.

Doing a load of wash was an excruciating experience with our new top loading LG washer. Kept stopping, flashing uE or UE signals, requiring a load redistribution which many times did not work requiring more load redistribution! It took hours to do a load of wash, could not leave the house, not knowing how long it would take to complete the cycle. Every so often a load would run right through raising expectations that this washer was finally doing what it was supposed to be doing only to realize that dysfunction was the norm. We were told we were not distributing the load evenly?! Does it now take a rocket scientist to load a washing machine, obviously with this one it does. We were told maybe we didnt have enough clothes in, just add more! Like clean ones? I thought this was eco friendly? We finally had a repairman (kid) in. He was very nice, and ordered a new computer board saying sometimes the washer didnt learn right. OK, so I now have a learning disabled washer, but hey it was getting remedial learning! Good... right. In the meantime I was advised to use the low spin option. About 2 weeks later the new computer board is installed, but was still advised to use the low spin option, really, whats that about, wasnt it just fixed? But anyway, delighted that I now had an A+ washing machine, OK maybe a B+, I loaded it up, still using the low spin option as advised, even after the brain implant, and guess what? The load went right through! Success, shes a genius! Alas, the success must have shorted out the new brain. Its now back to playing the same old games, and me, never knowing when a load will go through as it should. And guess what?? the low spin option is no longer an option! Skips right over that. Maybe she did learn something.

Bought an LG washer from Home Depot in Alamogordo, NM about 4 yrs ago. From the very first few uses we would occasionally notice small holes appearing in clothes and towels etc. Followed manual carefully about what cycle to spin clothes on, also followed cleaning procedure rigorously as my daughters LG developed the dreaded mold. I was assured that would not happen if I left the door open and cleaned the seal and ran tub clean cycle frequently. I did all that and still developed the mildew/mold stench that permeates our towels mostly. The small holes I finally figured out was caused by the spin cycle (even on low) forcing the thinner weight fabric through the drain holes in tub and catching the fabric on the unpolished back side of rough punched drain holes. I actually physically pulled a t-shirt off the side of the tub slowly and saw with my own eyes the fabrics pulling out of the holes leaving small tears in the shape of the drain hole pattern. Many clothing items were ruined before I started washing everything, even towels in laundry bags. I use cotton pillow covers to dont stink and wash towels in. The main computer panel started to go out immediately after the one year warranty was up. The washer now sits, but at least my clothes dont stink and I have no holes in my new clothes. Laundromats are not that bad after all. The crap that is being pawned off on the consumers is deplorable.

We recently went through 4 months of renovations. What a nightmare and the contractor is not coming back to do the final touchups. We had our kitchen completely gutted and when it came to appliances we purchased and LG range and fridge. Both are working just fine. It takes a bit of getting used to when going from appliances from the 70s and 80s to new. We have had no problems with the fridge but then we have only been using it for a couple of months. The stove works fine. I thought getting a new stove would mean that I would wait a shorter time for a pot of water to boil but no. We are having a problem with the smell of gas every time we use the range. Whether it be the oven or burners, we smell gas. There is conflicting information on the internet as to whether this is normal. We shouldnt be able to smell gas in other rooms other than the kitchen but we do when we use the range. The other issue which is major is the knobs for turning on the burners. This is a complete safety hazard and how this design passed any safety inspections before selling to the public is beyond me. I have singed my long hair twice, once reaching into a cupboard near the stove and another cleaning by the stove just because I barely leaned against the range. The knobs turn by barely brushing up against them and instantly the burner is on before you can get out of the way. If my children were still small I would not keep this stove. It is a accident just waiting to happen. I find this design terribly irresponsible for a company to have and this range should be recalled. I also find the venting of the oven across the cook top not the best design also. When I use the oven and the burners at the same time too much heat is being created and at one time our range hood fan went off on its own and didnt shut off until the heat had dissipated. At the same time the oven vent causes the pots on the stove to heat up even more than from being on the burners and the handles can not be handled unless using a pot holder. It bakes well. We find we use the convection more because on bake food isnt crisping up as much as we would like. I guess thats the difference between electric heat and gas. Companies need to stand by their products better. Our old fridge of 25 years is still going on strong and has been relegated to the car port as an overflow fridge. I am certain that these new appliances of today would never last that long. If the new LG fridge goes we might have to bring the old one back inside. Oh and our 2 year old Samsung T.V. just completely died. What quality!!!

We purchased all new LG appliances for our newly built house. Initially we were very happy with our purchases until our LG Fridge suddenly quit. We had a repair technician come and was told it was the compressor. Unfortunately for us he replaced the compressor but still was unable to fix it. He was advised by LG to remove the new compressor and that we would have to unfortunately purchase a new fridge, but that once the paperwork was sent in LG would be issuing us a rebate for our fridge that was unable to be fixed since it had a 10 year compressor warranty. The original claim was sent in April 2018 and I am yet to see the rebate cheque I was promised, even signed and filled out the paperwork for. I have contacted their customer service over a dozen times now and have not received any better answers than someone will look into it and will contact me in the next 7-10 business days. Which I am yet to be contacted! I am now out the cost of the original fridge, the repair bill for the not fixable fridge and the new fridge I had to purchase to replace the original as well as countless hours on the phone trying to get to the end of this! This has now been going on for 17 months with no better answers or solutions. Needless to say I will never purchase another LG product or recommend LG to anyone! Buyer BEWARE!

We purchased our fridge on May 2015. Costed us about $2300. Since then we’ve had to have it repaired 6 times! I guess that pretty much sums up our experience with LG refrigerators. Fortunately, we had the extended warranty with Home Depot which saved us a bunch out of pocket expenses. My family is surely staying away from LG’s fridges.

We purchased an LG refrigerator with bottom double freezer and french doors
We purchased an LG refrigerator with bottom double freezer and french doors in 2011. Four years in - we had trouble with the food thawing in the freezer and ice maker stopped working. A repairman through LG came out and did a repair and fixed it. As soon as the warranty was up (Jan 2016) it happened again. We were given a choice - pay $294.50 for a 1x visit and 60 days coverage of the same issue or $444.05 for 1 year warranty for any problem.Since we figured this was a big problem, we went with the $444. The repairman came again and flushed the system - started working again. 5 months later the same thing happened - he replaced the compressor. Still under warranty. Warranty expired in July 2017 - Oct 2017 the same thing happened. LG will not do anything about it because its not under warranty even though its the same problem from the beginning. Now Im faced with a non working refrigerator and a decision of paying a huge amount to get it fixed or moving on from a 6 year old refrigerator. Never will buy LG again.

Read a review by Kathleen from Pa on her bad experience with a leaking dishwasher. We had the same experience. Repair staff made 2-3 trips to our home, replacing several items inside the door. The 3rd repairman finally determined that the dishwasher was not properly leveled. After he leveled the dishwasher, we no longer had the leak problem. Hope this helps some of the frustrated LG dishwasher owners with the same problem.

Forced to replace my (good looking) 2 year old LG refrigerator (LFXS30726*/LFXC24726*) due to it not functioning, cost to repair, lack of parts availability and difficulty in finding a repair person who, when found, suggested to get a new but totally different brand. SHAME ON YOU manufacturer of LG refrigerators for putting out such an inferior product. It is only my belief in karma that allows me to forget you now and move on!!!

My 2-door side by side refrigerator is only 4 years old. The inside back has hairline cracks all over it from top to bottom. The plastic handles and door shelves are all broken and duct taped. I called and text them and all they say is how I can purchase new ones. That will never happen. I will never purchase LG again. Its not like my husband and myself ever abused it and we are the only 2 people that have ever touched it.

I like that its energy-efficient, easy to clean, quiet, and overall dependable unlike leading competitors. Fit well in the kitchen, not too tall. I liked the water filter and dispenser inside the refrigerator and the spacious shelving that was easy to clean - made of clear plastic not barred plastic. It was top door freezer and bottom door fridge and did not have enough room. Nor enough room for leftovers or storage which is much needed in families larger than 3.

We bought the above LG washer new at Best Buy on 3/16/14 along with an extended warranty. It wasnt delivered until 3/29/14. We ran it for ~2 weeks when on 4/13/14 it began spraying water all over our floor from the bottom right of the machine. I immediately called Best Buy about a return. Their policy is only 15 days. They count that 15 days from the date of purchase, not delivery. (Let that be a warning). So we only had the washer in our house and running for a few days before the return period ended. They would not honor a return and told us we had to go through LG. From there it got much, much worse. Have some patience to read the rest of this and you will get the true feel for LGs Customer Service. Pray you never have a problem. You can see in the attached transcripts that the repairman that came out basically saw a non-fixable problem and tried to the LG to condemn the unit. LG wouldnt do it as they saw it as repairable. Our repairman said all other companies he deals with would take the repairmans recommendation and replace the unit. He warned us that LG is different and that they would fight tooth and nail to not have to exchange the unit. Afterwards, I contacted LG customer service on the phone and was placed on infinite hold two times. I finally resorted to the chat room option. Read the transcript to get their idea of customer service. We had been without a washer for 2 weeks at that point and LG did absolutely nothing to help. No replacement, no loaner, no stipend towards a Laundromat, coupon, or even an apology. What we got was we have 30 days to fix it per our warranty and it sounds inconvenient for you. There was zero attempt at trying to appease us as customers. The 2nd round of parts came in, and sure enough as our repairman said, they didnt solve the problem. It was now 4/29 and we are livid to still be without a working washer after spending over $800. He provided them copies of our receipts and LG stated they would start processing an RA (return authorization review). We were told we would hear from LG in a day or so. A few days went by, I tried calling LG again. No response. Emailed. No response. Finally, managed to get hold of a Customer service manager. They told me they had 3 days to process an RA. I told her it had now been over a week. She didnt know what to say. She also stated they didnt have copies of our receipts. They did, but I resent them again. Now go to the next email string.Today, my wife called again. LG said they didnt process anything because they didnt have the receipts. I had to provide them a THIRD TIME. We were then told it will take 3 working days or more to process the return through Best Buy and about another week to 10 working days before they will arrange for a replacement unit. That does not count time for delivery. They still dont care and wont help in any way. So we are looking at being without a washer for about 1-1/2 months or more. We are still scrambling to get laundry done. I will be looking to get the photos taken by our repairman showing the gap in the machine and post them once received.Consequences? My wife has been traveling 20 miles each way to her mothers house ~2-3 times per week to do laundry. A few times she has gone to a local neighbors house. I have had to leave work early and take personal time to travel 30 miles (45 minutes) on 3 occasions so far to deal with the service calls. Hours spent on the phone and the Internet trying to reach resolution. Inconvenience. Frustration. Strained relationships with relatives. A mess on our floor that I had to clean up. About 1-1/2 months without a washer after spending $800 on what was sold to me as a supposed functional unit.

I have 4-year old front load LG washing machine. The door is either wide open or it is locked shut. I hate having to keep the door wide open and if you leave it shut, it stinks! I FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION - a new product called FRONT LOAD FRESH cost ME ONLY $12.95. Front Load Fresh is a bracket I purchased on Etsy through Simple Life products; it partially holds open any front load washing machine door. Finally my laundry room looks nice and my washing machine no longer stinks. By the way they also have top load Fresh - a bracket to hold open top load washing machines for $12.95 on Etsy.

The top loading LG Smart Drive was purchased when we moved to a new home. We have had nothing but problems ever since. It becomes unbalanced frequently. When it becomes unbalanced, it adds more water in an attempt to swish the clothes to regain balance. Waste!!! This washer is unbalanced more than it is in balance. Sometimes it takes 2 days to wash a load of clothes. Ridiculous. In addition, I am never able to wash a small load - EVER. A small load in this machine is like a free ticket straight to unbalanced status. On top of this fun, my clothes are frequently knotted and twisted so badly that I have to untangle and untie my clothes prior to putting them in the dryer. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM LG AGAIN! EVER!!!

We bought a home that had a completely remodeled kitchen with a brand new LG LRFD25850ST refrigerator (French door style, with freezer below). It is a beautiful LOOKING appliance. The ice maker works. Thats the only nice thing I can say about it. When you open the doors, in just a few seconds it starts beeping the open door alarm. This is not a defect. It is designed that way. The problem is that the time before the alarm goes off is not settable, and it comes on so soon that you cannot possibly put groceries away before if relentlessly goes off. In fact, its darn hard to even get things OUT of the fridge without it going off.Everything plastic on the inside of this fridge is made of a cheap, brittle grade of plastic. The produce bin doors and wide lower drawer have all cracked and broken multiple times in multiple places. The front support plastic edge on the lower shelf cracked in several places and started to sag. Some PVC plastic pipe cement and my own supplies of plastic to reinforce it have kept it in shape, but most people will not be able to make repairs like this and they will end up with the cover doors drawers all broken and coming apart. One day it just started accumulating a big thick sheet of ice in the bottom of the freezer. After months of just chipping it out of there in big chunks before it started to melt at the front edge and run water all over the floor (which it did multiple times), we went away for a week, so we took out all the food and shut the thing off. After 5 days of being off and completely dethawing, it stopped creating that ice sheet. I assume the defrost draining tube was blocked somewhere.Temperature distribution throughout the fridge is very unpredictable. Sometimes the ice cream is soft, sometimes hard as a rock, sometimes the milk is too warm while other things in the fridge annoyingly freeze hard as a rock, or vice versa. The light bulb compartment cracks and deforms. The cover is very hard to get off, and the bulbs are very hard to unscrew. I dont know how a simple thing like a light socket can be made poorly, but these are. And cover has melted and deformed from the bulb heat (and we are not using incorrect lamps. They are 15w small appliance bulbs).

My LG dryer is leaking gas from somewhere and I had the gas company come out to isolate that the issue isnt with the gas line or connection. He confirmed something is wrong with the dryer, marked it a fire hazard, and unplugged it. Furthermore, we had our dryer duct cleaned to remove the possibility that it was a blocked vent. The gas issue still exists. Was on the phone with LG for at least over an hour trying to come to some resolution. The hallmark response from them was unfortunately you are outside the 1 year warranty. The issue Im having has nothing to do with warranty and is a SAFETY and potential recall issue which they obviously didnt want to address, stating that enough people need to call in and report this issue before we issue a recall. What makes the issue so dangerous is that GAS is leaking somewhere and LG is unwilling to even send someone out as a courtesy to check. Whats worse is that there could be MANY customers out there with this problem who dont even know it or think its a big deal (we thought it was normal until we had the Gas company check it a few months later on my wifes intuition). If enough gas leaks and something ignites it, that could mean a blow-out of the dryer or worse yet potential injury via explosion or fire. Its obvious LG cares very little about the safety of their customers, especially when they keep implying these kinds of things are warranty related issues. This is major neglect IMHO. If there are ever any incidents in future related to LG and gas leaks, this shouldnt come as a surprise to anyone and it certainly wont for me. This is the last time Ill be getting a set of LG appliances... thats for sure. Ive only had this set for five years too.

My husband and I purchased an LG Refrigerator, model number LFC23760ST. It was delivered on 6/17/2009. About 1 month later, we experienced getting shocked while reaching for food items while holding on to the door. We called LG, and they told us to call an authorized repair agency and gave us 2 names. We called both of those companies and neither would come to look at our appliance. They said that LG doesnt pay them. We called LG. They told my husband that it must be a problem with the house and not the refrigerator. My husband talked to them on many more occasions, and they said that they would send someone, but no one ever came. Now, the refrigerator completely went out. On October 12th 2011, we called LG. They gave us the same name (1 now) of an authorized repair agency. We called them and they do not come to our area. So, apparently, we never have had any warranty on this product. We did get Sears appliance repair to come out. It turns out to be a blown fuse that is soldered to a control panel. So, $369.00 later and another week without a refrigerator (to order the part), did the short causing us to be shocked cause the fuse to go out? When the repair gets made, will we still get shocked? Why is LG not more concerned about my well-being and that of husbands, and should there be death or serious injury before they will show care at all? Or maybe, the only time they will care is if they are sued and it hurts their pocket book? It has hurt mine both in repairs and loss of groceries. I dont know if anything can be done about this situation but I will never purchase another LG product, and I will tell as many people who will listen not to do so as well. Always remember, if you have a warranty repair on an LG product, no one will come!

Top of the line did not last 3 years. It stopped getting cold. We know that happens but the customer service is the worst I have ever seen. I have been on the phone for 2 days now at least 5 hours and they first scheduled a repair with MODERN APPLIANCE SERVICE who said they would be here between 8 and 12 pm on Wed and at 11 pm on Wed they called us to inform us it would be 7 days before they could have someone here. We called LG back again and again and now they will call us back when their scheduling dept finds someone to look at it. Our son has diabetes and has to keep his insulin cold and thats not happening and LG could care less. We are buying ice to keep it cold. No one has called us back and we have talked to with 3 managers so far and no one has called us back and we have no service date yet. Wonder how long this will go on? I am getting ready to call them again and spend today on the phone begging for help after spending $4000 on a Refrigerator. Update. We took their phone survey after their 10th call and said we were not happy with the results of the call and they had the ** to call us right back tell me they did not appreciate the review or deserved the low score on the review I gave them. Now we still have a $4000 refrigerator that is not working, cant get anyone to fix it for any amount of money and they have time to call me and tell me they did not like my review. I am speechless. It seems they are not going to help us and I am not sure they will call back now. I think I am going to have to place these reviews every hour until I get some attention. So be it.

LG Oven Model LRE 30755ST - Tried to bake some brownies at 350 and the oven overheated out of control to the point that the brownies burned, the pan was ruined and smoke detectors went off. Must have been several hundred degrees above 350. Technician felt that the heating elements got stuck on, vs. cycling on and off. I felt that an oven heating up out of control should have been considered a safety issue vs. just another repair out of warranty.

I am using a 5.5 kg front loading LG washing machine which stopped draining the water out of it. When I registered a complain on 2nd June, they send one stupid technician Mr ** who showed us the water drainage and took away Rs 590 as a service charge of LG which is quite high. Later when we realized that the problem is not solved, we tried calling the customer care so many times in last 6 days but they just note down your complain and tell you that someone will visit again. Finally they gave me a contact of local Hyderabad service center Mr ** (Mr **) number who is another bluff master. LG are highly irresponsible people. I will never recommend LG washing machine to anyone for their third class service.

I bought an LG side-by-side refrigerator in Aug. 2009. It has been a problem since it was delivered. The first one was replaced and a new model was brought out. This one has been a nightmare since. The ice maker freezes up and does not work; you only get shaved ice. It has leaked to the point that it has bubbled the paint and rusted around the bottom of the exterior part of the ice maker. I have contacted the extended warranty company Assurance, which I purchased. They have been out for four different occasions and replaced the ice maker. They said there was nothing they could do about the rusted and peeled paint.I contacted LG and they said it was something I intentionally did to the refrigerator otherwise, it would not have done it. I was told by NFM that the extended warranty would cover all defects. Under the LEMON law, after 3 times and it would be replaced. Aug 23, 2011, I contacted Assurance and the representative gave a claim number and said it would be replaced; transferred me to an underwriter and he informed me in no circumstances did I have an extended warranty that had a Lemon Law Clause in it. It would have had to be added separately. I told him I never heard of that. He explained that he would not exchange this product for that reason and I would have to contact Nebraska Furniture Mart, which I did and still waiting to hear from them. LG makes the worse products and hopefully, the government will step in and take away their right to sell this crap in the USA. I have also told them the freezer has problems also; freezes up too much or not enough, and the refrigerator part stays cold or freezes everything.
