After just 5 years my $2000 LG Refrigerator two drawer freezer died. LG customer service is a hair pulling joke. Repair service said they could replace the compressor but it would not last. So after 5 years my LG refrigerator will go to the landfill. I picture all these beautiful refrigerators lined up at the dump. DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR. Joined class action suit.

Purchased in Spring of 2015, and just before the year warranty went out, the ice maker quit working. After a week or two we got that fixed, and while waiting on that repair, my sons LG refrigerator stopped cooling and he was having major issues with getting it repaired b/c it was out of the year warranty (purchased Fall of 2014). Because he was having so many issues, we decided to buy the LG Extended Warranty, just in case, and it was over $500. So now were in for over $3000 for this refrigerator. FYI, my son junked his after several months b/c he could not find anyone who could/would work in it or even figure out what was wrong with it!!! THEN just this past month, July 18th we returned home from a weeks vacation and the refrigerator had stopped working, so we were up until late throwing out over $500 worth of food and cleaning a nasty refrigerator. My husband called them immediately and started the process of getting the repairs made using the LG Extended Warranty. It took him three calls to just get to the right people that might could help us, and they said it would be the end of the week before anyone could JUST look at it! Well, those folks never called the day before, as promised, so my husband starts calling again. Finally someone showed up on July 28th, but guess what? Its a sealed system and LG wouldnt let them work on it. My husband has spent hours on the phone going from person after person up the chain, and finally on August 2nd he got a supervisor that admitted that they had no one in the State of Louisiana that could even work on our refrigerator!!!We are waiting for a call by 2:00 today to see what they are going to do about the situation, to fix or replace... oh, and the LG Extended Warranty will only reimburse us for $250 of our food, not to mention weve had to eat out much more and buy a smaller refrigerator just to keep a few cold food items in! LG is a JOKE, both their refrigerators and their LG Extended Warranties!!! STEER CLEAR OF LG REFRIGERATORS!!! Ill let you know what happen when we hear back from LG.

Bought an LG French door model LFX25973ST/00 refrigerator from Sears. Right after its out of warranty we were getting water on the floor from the left-side door each time we opened the door. I replaced the door ice-maker parts (all of them) and the gaskets. I also balanced the doors again (only slightly out of balance). More water. Called LG and they told me to replace the gaskets and balance the door. Um, that didnt work. Try calling a repair service. I called a few appliance repair places and only one still works on LG products. He stated that LG sucks. He recommended replacing the gaskets which I already did. He said, you just have to live with it or get a new refrigerator. LG = Life is Good?? More like LG = Lame Grifters. Well, Im trying gaskets one more time before I take this out and use it for target practice.

Bought the side by side April 1, 2015 and compressor is broken as of June 23, 2018 when I noticed water pooling and my ice cream soft. Purchased at Best Buy and they give you an extra yr warranty. The repairmen don’t work on Sundays and Mondays so I have to wait 4 days before my appt. Originally they wanted to schedule me for July 2 which is 1 1/2 wks away. My refrigerator is mildly cool and the freezer has stopped freezing. I paid extra for LG unit which advertised their quiet linear compressor. I am very dissatisfied that the unit broke in 3 yrs. That is ridiculous. I will make sure that I purchase extra warranty for I see more breakdowns in the future. Wished I would have purchased a Whirlpool which is Consumer Reports recommendation. A few of my friends have Whirlpool and no problems.Updated on 06/26/2018: Had the repairman out. I thought it was the linear compressor but it turns out its in the closed system where the freon is connected to the metal coils. He thinks there is a leak. It is only 3 yrs old. This should not be. Another appt has to be set up and a specialist will come to find the leak and put freon in. If they cant fix it, then I get a new refrigerator. This is Best Buy warranty. Today they dont come with a 5 yr warranty. I will also plan on buying extended warranty. Things arent made like they used to when assembly people put it together. My old GE lasted 20 years. That was in the 70s. They purposely design them to break down after ** years.

I purchased a $1350.00 LG refrigerator. 3 years later it broke. The repairman came to fix it, told us it needed a part and he would order it for overnight shipping. Well, he lied. It has been five days now and he just told me it would be another few days before the part comes in. They blamed it on FedEx. I have lost hundreds of dollars of food, but does LG care? NO. At one point the repairman hung up on me. NEVER NEVER buy any LG product. Their service departments is rude and unreliable. Very upset and disappointed with everything about this company. My husband bought this stove for me on Feb 14th, I was thrilled! I love to bake and cook and even canning. I had the stove for less than a month and the large right burner died. I called to have it repaired. We kept using the stove, and before the repairman could get to us, the entire top died! You could push the buttons, they would come on but didnt heat up. The repairman came out, looked at the stove and said he had to order the parts. Two weeks later, he replaced the motherboard and everything was up and running just fine. Two months later, we had the same issue. The left burner goes this time. Again, the same repairman comes out, looks at the stove, he again orders the same parts. He replaces the motherboard again. On the 3rd repair, LG tells me the repair guy is the one who has to call it a lemon, the repair guy tells me its LG that has to call it a lemon. Okay, so he repaired it and I just let it go, WHICH I have NOT have done!Dec. 14, we call the repairman again, I am now on my 4th repair for the same thing! Now LG wants to see my receipt for the stove, and they are sending it to their Claims dept. to see if they can replace this stupid stove. I really hope they do NOT plan to send me another stove like this one! Last week, the repairman came out, of course they have to order the parts and I am just betting, my stove will NOT be repaired in time for me to cook the family Christmas dinner! It really sucks to spend all that money for a stove that only works part time! The repair guy said, he also see problems with stove that have fancy mother boards. If you buy this stove, make sure you have a backup plan! I am currently baking cookies on a small rack while sitting on coffee cups in a roaster pan and it SUCKS! Now, I guess I will have to cook Christmas dinner on a George foreman grill, a roaster pan, and an electric skillet or its fast food. Geez like a great dinner for Christmas, NOT!

Updated on 02/16/2021: My Husband and I bought a new home 4 years ago and we decided on all new LG appliances, LG Black stainless steel. We bought a LG Refrigerator, LG Microwave, LG Dishwasher and a LG Built in Oven (Double Range). So this past year we noticed Grooves on the oven Door and in the past 6 months they have started to Peel and Rust. We have started to noticed Paint chips in our food. Well, LG agreed to send out a company to see the damage and then they had the Audacity to say that I caused the damage to my own Product. I have never cleaned the oven other than the self cleaning mode. I do not even use anything other than Norwex in my Home. Its their way of sweeping it under the Rug. BLAME THE CONSUMER.Im 62 yrs old and they BLAMED ME AND MY HUSBAND to my FACE. All they had to do was change out the Door, but, yet, they didnt, instead they insulted us to our face. Would you really support such a COMPANY???? I have never in my Life been so frustrated with a Purchase that was made in good Faith. Now every time we use the oven to cook for our Kids and Grandkids, am I poisoning our Family???? We cant just go get a new oven on our Retirement, is this Company, LG, worth Purchasing From, Id be very aware in case something goes wrong with your appliance. Is it worth be stuck with a defective product as we are and no-one is there to back up your $$$$ Purchase? Give it thought before you buy LG Appliances.Original Review: I dont understand how a companys defective workmanship is under a one-year warranty, it has nothing to do with its normal use. My oven has a Monster in it, clawing to get out, I have the enamel chipping off, deep grooves that are now rusting, the oven is 4yrs old and expensive and Im unable to use it for fear of being poisoned. Please has anyone else had this issue or know of a class action in regards to the defect? I just may be the 1st. On LGs website there are others whove had this issue also. Should I contact them???? Im at a loss here.... Any Help would be appreciated.

Unbalanced Flaw UE - LG Front Loader Extra Capacity - Paid way too much to get extra capacity - would love to have my basic front loader back! Extra capacity is worthless if you cant get the load to spin & finish because of the UE code. Ive had to throw away pillows I washed. No problem in my last machine, because this way overpriced LG wouldnt spin it - not alone, not with other items, not after being wrung out, hung to drip dry, not on low spin - NOTHING. The True Balancer is a joke - it is directly causing the problem. What good is an EXTRA CAPACITY washing machine, if you cant wash more than a normal load in it anyway? The time Ive wasted standing in front of this machine, hoping *this time* it would spin, rebalancing items by hand - makes me sick to think how much we paid for this piece of junk. Good luck with customer service - they said there is no recall even though there is post after post of the same UE complaint, and they *might* call me back once the customer service person logs my complaint. Never asked me for any contact info so Im not sure how that will happen...

WM2050CW - We purchased this machine in 2010 and it seemed the answer to all our prayers. It worked great, cleaned well and the clothes were almost dry when they were done - very little time in the dryer to get them done. The machine wasnt cheap but it would save energy and use less water and of course cut down on dryer time. Then this year problems arose and it was out of warranty. No problem, I thought, just call a repairman and all will be good. WRONG. Found out most will not work on the Korean made LGs. The parts are hard to get and expensive and the service from LG itself is horrible. This coming from the tech that we finally found to come out and work on it. Great we thought, get it fixed and back to washing. WRONG again. Pump was shot and the supports on the center drum were beginning to go. Okay how much to fix? We asked. $400 for the pump which could take up to two weeks to even get and up to a $1000 to replace the supports. OUCH!!!! Needless to say repairs were not done. Called several repair businesses to get a recommendation for a replacement. All came up with the same answer...... DONT buy another front loader. Reason: not built to last, parts are expensive, and some brands like LG nobody will work on. So we went back to the good old top loader and it is a Speed Queen and it has a 3 year warranty and according to all the repair people we talked to it is one of the most dependable out there. The best part it is made here in the good ole USA..... If you think front loaders are great look them up on youtube and see what happens when the supports go............ SCARY.

In June of 2014 I bought a new French door LG fridge ($2199) for our new home from Sears Canada. From the minute it was plugged in it squealed randomly and has a constant humming/vibrating noise that is well above just annoying. As a point of reference, we have an almost identical LG at the cottage and it is basically noise free. I have been quite patient about getting the noise corrected as it seems to function well except for how noisy it is. The authorized LG repair tech was there today for the second time and had the gall to tell me it seems not bad, I asked him to leave and go have another drink as the alcohol coming off him would serve a college fraternity well.Almost one year later I still have an annoying buzz coming from my new LG refrigerator and zero satisfaction in getting this remedied. At this point I fully expect LG to delay this until the one year warranty is up and say sorry, nothing we can do. Fortunately, I have lawyers in my family and this matter is far from over. As many others have said, THIS WILL BE MY LAST LG PRODUCT regardless of the ultimate outcome. There is no need in this day and age to put up with this level of customer service.

I bought my French door LG refrigerator in Jan 2018. Now - in March 2018 it is no longer cooling. I bought the extended warranty through Lowes. They sent a tech to assess the problem. Compressor needs replacing. After only 14 months of use! Yes the extended warranty (that I paid $269 for) covers the expense of fixing it - but the tech had to order the parts so am still without fridge until those parts come in and he can get back here to fix it. Am very disappointed in LG! Won’t buy this brand again. Am concerned to be thinking I may have to replace the compressor on a yearly basis.

DRN #**. I have an offer for refund of the defective refrigerator but they dont answer my calls, my txts and my emails. This claim started Feb 5 2021 when my refrigerator stopped working for the second time in less than two years. 3 companies certified it could not be repaired, one of them came 6 times in the middle of a pandemia (and broke a tile in my kitchen with their equipment). 2 months without refrigerator buying ice for a cooler with small children in the house and me being diabetic without being able to follow my diet. Around 100 hours in the phone taken from my work time. I have spoken to at least 30 people from LGE.... I sent sticker with serial number, proof of purchase, address, email.... Not even one call back from LGE and always expecting an email back before 72 hours. Multiple DRNs that got cancelled without even being notified. What kind of customer support is this?

My LG refrigerator was purchased less than 5 years ago and it’s now non-operational. On 6/29/2013, everything was fine. About 12 noon, and returning from our weekly grocery shopping, we discovered that the lighting in the refrigerator was no longer working. We then noticed moisture all around the top of the doors and upon further checking, discovered the refrigerator was no longer working. It is over 80 humid degrees outside and a Saturday. It is our belief that the circuit board needs to be replaced. There were no signs whatsoever that something might be going wrong. It is my understanding that LG refrigerators should only be worked on by an LG trained repair person. We are not very happy.

I bought this LG dishwasher 1 year ago and this is the WORST, WORST machine ever I have and so has my husband called the company. We were told to change soaps to Cascade liquid. We have tried pods, powders and other brands. My dishes still come out dirty, Glasses with grime and I use Jetdry also. WE have changed the dial to the highest number, tried everything we were asked to do. Why would someone spend the money on a dishwasher to have to WASH the dishes BEFORE you put them in the dishwasher? There is always soap residue in the machine after each use. I was willing to agree on LG sending out a repair specialist of LG to look and/or repair but now I just want it removed from my home. I will NEVER EVER buy a LG appliance again. I will stand by the other brand.

Initially the LG double oven and 5 burner stove top looked amazing. It did just what we wanted it to do during the holidays. The super boiler burner is great. The double oven did everything we needed for the holiday dinners. The only problem is the burners turn on (Gas) with the least amount of pressure on the knobs. Other reviews have express the same danger and LG does not have a fix according to other reviews. I went to my local hardware store and bought springs that I cut to length and placed them behind the knobs to provide the need for more pressure to activate the ignition. Its a matter of time before clothing or other items get caught on fire. Especially with the Super Boiler burner.

I would give this product 0 stars if that were an option. I purchased this appliance 4 years ago and while it looks great, it has been nothing but trouble. We first had an issue about 2 years after purchase - it stopped cooling in the freezer. We lost quite a bit of food but the repair was covered by the warranty. Now 2 years later, the same thing has happened except now it is both the freezer and refrigerator that will not cool. I have lost hundreds of dollars in food and have to take time off from work to wait for the repairman. And to top it off, LG customer service is terrible. I spent nearly an hour on the phone scheduling an appointment, only to have them reschedule for a day later. I am furious. Purchase our LG dryer a few months ago-It has a sensor that won’t let dryer dry at any setting, VERY POOR DESIGN- the lint trap is the main reason for the sensor stopping the dryer from drying—DONT PURCHASE ANY LG DRYER.

I’m writing this review so that hopefully other consumers won’t make the same mistake I made by buying this LG refrigerator. I bought this refrigerator on 5/6/13 at Famous Tate in Brandon, Fl, and paid $2545 for it—my very first “modern”, expensive fridge. This is Model # LF X 319455T/02 (stainless steel French Door). I’ve had nothing but trouble with it since the beginning, and after reading all these reviews, I can see that I am clearly not the only one.The food has gone bad periodically over the last 5 years, resulting in my having to throw stuff out quite often. I confess that I actually ate food that I probably shouldn’t have, and for someone with an autoimmune condition who MUST have fresh fruits and vegetables to survive, this is completely unacceptable. There had been water accumulating in the refrigerator for a long time, and a few months ago there was water all over the left hand side of the bottom shelf as well as all over the floor. I immediately called LG to discuss the problem, and rather than pay them in advance for one of their techs to come here, I paid a technician from Mr. Appliance to come here. He may not have been an authorized LG technician, but he was highly trained and extremely knowledgeable about these LG french door refrigerators. By the way, most repair technicians in my area refuse to even work on LG appliances. That should tell you something!!The guy (Ron) who came to my house determined that the automatic ice maker was causing the problem, and he literally showed me how this one defective part always malfunctions in these models. He further explained that eventually the compressor will probably go out. The replacement part has a heater built into it that supposedly will prevent this problem from occurring, but between parts and labor, it would cost me over $500. That day he enlightened me about a lot of things, and after doing extensive research, I found out that everything he told me that day was true. For instance, I found out that LG has known about this manufacturer’s defect for years, and yet continues to manufacture new models with the same defective part. Sounds very shady and evil to me. Nevertheless, I was going to agree to the repair whether Ron did it or LG (for a slight discount), but then decided against investing more money into this piece of crap.Instead, I bought new water and fresh air filters, and tried to remember to empty the ice container periodically. I should mention that I have NEVER personally used the water dispenser or the ice maker, but I thought it would be nice to have it for any guests who occasionally come over. That being said, for the last few months, the fridge seemed to work ok—not great, but ok. Then the last few weeks there was more water accumulating inside food containers. I just wiped them out, threw more rotten food out, and just put up with it. There’s also a strange discoloration on the touchscreen panel as well as a stainless steel finish looking like it’s peeling off. Clearly very cheaply made. It’s interesting that they charge a premium price for a cheaply made product. Don’t get me started on the faulty design which has its own set of problems. So, on Monday night (7/30/18) or technically Tuesday 12:30 am (8/31/18), the fridge started making an extremely loud noise. There was water everywhere and everything in the freezer had defrosted. I immediately called LG (they do answer the phone 24/7), and was instructed to turn off the breaker to the fridge. I did that, and at least that stopped the noise. I also dumped out the ice container in order to prevent matters getting worse. The representative told me that according to the schedule, a service tech. most likely would be able to come out Friday and for me to call back at 8:00 am to confirm. Obviously I’d have to pay $125 in advance plus pay the service tech for any additional labor. I explained to her that I now have to clean up the huge mess, try to salvage what food I can, and that I’m very ill, 80 lbs and need to be properly nourished to stay alive.I asked her how I’m expected to live without a refrigerator for 4-5 days and probably much longer after ordering parts and having the tech come back to complete the repair. She had absolutely no response for me. I did call back later that morning, paid $125, and scheduled the tech. to come to my house on Friday. Meanwhile I drove to the convenience store in the middle of the night, bought 4 bags of ice and went home to start the cleanup process. I worked all night long using the wet vac, taking everything out of the fridge and freezer, throwing lots of stuff away, and putting whatever food I thought worth saving into coolers with ice. I thoroughly dried the inside of the fridge and freezer, and then proceeded to clean and sterilize. Needless to say, I never slept having worked tirelessly throughout the night. Needless to say I was utterly exhausted.Due to the dire emergency I was in, I sent messages to 7 people on Craigslist and Next Door desperate to get a fridge delivered to me ASAP. The LG repair tech (Sonny) called me later that day and instructed me to turn the fridge back on, and said that he could come here on Saturday-not Friday. Fortunately, that horrible noise never came back on, so that at least was a relief. He proceeded to explain to me that from what I told him, it sounds like a very complex problem, and that his labor would be very intensive, and it could cost me over $1,000 between parts and labor regardless of the compressor being covered under the 10 year warranty. He honestly didn’t think it was worth fixing, and suggested I buy another fridge. We’ve talked several times in the last few days, and he has reiterated that I need to purchase another fridge ASAP. He clearly didn’t want to come here and told me to call LG and cancel the appt.I’ve also been on the phone with LG multiple times in the last 4 days for hours complaining about the situation to no avail. LG representatives in the Philippines are very nice, but there’s a huge communication problem, and it’s beyond frustrating trying to get my point across. I kept getting put on hold, transferred to various individuals, and no one seemed to understand a word I said. All of this massive stress compounded by 4 days of virtually no sleep has comprised my health even more. This entire ordeal has been an absolute nightmare, and I’m outraged that someone can very casually say “Oh well, just go buy another fridge” after I spent over $2500 on what I thought (confirmed by the sales guy) would be a state of the art refrigerator that would last for years. Boy did that turn out to be wrong. I agree with what the rest of you said about LG.I will NEVER buy another LG appliance, and advise everyone else to avoid this brand like the plague. Not surprisingly, I’ve found my brand new LG front loader to be quite frustrating. What a joke “LG Life’s Good”. Life is anything but good when you have an LG appliance. More like a nightmare. I deserve to be compensated for all the food I’ve lost and continue to lose as well as the toll this has taken on my health. Not to mention countless hours on the phone with LG and the hours it has taken me to write this complaint. The abhorrent way in which LG manufactures their products and provides service is nothing short of unconscionable, and I really hope we can all get appropriately compensated for what we’ve had to endure.

I purchased a £1000.00 fridge freezer and have it warranted for 5 years, 2 with LG and 3 years with Curry’s. Fridge and freezer not working after 1 year 9 month. Took 8 days to come out and told me compressor was broke, so new one would take 8 day. After having to take a second day off work nobody turned up or called up to fit the new compressor. Phoned engineer who said I should have been called as compressor was broke so would need to order another. Gave me appointment for further 6 days to wait and I couldn’t get shift off so changed it to the Fri instead of the Wed. Appointment booked in.Few days after engineer should have visited a unnecessary part arrived at our home which would not fix freezer as engineer stated it was a compressor needed. Phone company LG use to fix freezer to find out why this part had arrived. Mentioned my appointment on the fri due and was told there was no such appointment. Even if they come out on fri I have had no fridge or freezer for exactly a month. Terrible customer service and will never buy another LG product ever again.

I have the same problem with my washer that was purchased from Home Depot November 2011. We really need to urge LG to fix or replace these faulty machines instead of doing the measly recall fix which does not seem to fix the problem. I just signed the petition LG Electronics: Replace or completely fix a recalled washer on Change.org. Its important that we pass the word and get as many people to sign as we can to get LG involved. Will you sign it too? Thanks!

Unless you are willing to put 2 sheets in with your delicates, and that sometimes doesnt work, it is impossible to wash a small load. It takes hours to complete a wash load due to the off balance signal. You actually have to babysit the washer. I often take the wash out still heavily wet to hang on a line. Would never buy this product again.

We have had many instances prior to using the pliers where house has filled up with gas... I have called LG several times but they want $85 each and what we read is they continue to crack and not work. $85 x 5 is a lot of money. For the last 2 years I have not been able to use my dishwasher. The reason is when it goes through a cycle it comes out smelling. I have had 5 repair man out here and they say there is nothing they can do - its the dishwasher itself. I paid over $1000 for this piece of junk. The only solution that they gave me was to go to a hardware store and get an item that you put into the dishwasher and its supposed to clean it. Needless to say I still cant use my dishwasher. When I bought all my appliances stainless steel this was supposed to be the best. I live on Social Security and its going to be hard for me to go out and buy a new one. It will not be an LG. I was literally washed the dishes before I would use the dishwasher. Now when I wash my dishes by hand at least I know theyre clean. I am very upset with this product. I have never complained to consumers but in this case I have to. Beware and if you do decide to get an LG make sure you have a very long extended warranty.

My husband and I bought an LG LSXS22423S side by side refrigerator and after less than 2.5 years, the refrigerator quit cooling. I called the consumer line and they did a phone diagnostic test (which was useless) and came back and said, You have had the doors opened too much today. Of course I have, the unit shut down its cooling and everything was defrosted and water was running out the bottom. I am so disappointed in this and was warned by a salesman that LG would not last. I will have to pay $300.00 to $400.00 to have a repairman come and fix it.

4 of 5 of my LG PRODUCTS have had problems. My LG side by side refrigerator with ice maker and freezer on the bottom caught fire on Christmas EVE one year while we were sleeping. After much negotiating it was finally replaced. The replacements ice maker failed and the doors broke twice. My LG top load washer rusted out... it took a year to get it fixed. Meanwhile it had a couple of recalls on the panel and tub. My LG dishwasher stopped working altogether... I replaced it. The second doesnt clean my dishes well. AT THIS POINT I HAVE NO FAITH IN THE PRODUCTS OR SERVICE DEPARTMENT. LG simply does not want to deal with their faulty products and its customer service dep representatives are difficult to understand.

I called the LG Washer Recall Hotline first thing Monday morning. I was told that I would get a call in three to five business days to schedule an appointment. Thats a long time to wait just to get the appointment. So I called Best Buy since I bought an extended warranty of 5 yrs (glad of that!). They are not allowed to service recall problems. So, today being day four of the five-day wait, I thought Id call the service provider they assigned me to. No answer, but I left a message. I thought what the heck, maybe I should call LG back. Guess what? They made an error, the man said. They never gave the repair facility a phone # to reach me at. Gee, I would think someone would look at the repair order and figure that out! So, here I sit with laundry piling up because I have an inoperable machine. The drum came off! Im just lucky nothing was ruined inside of it when this happened. Im so shocked by this ineptitude. I once had a GE refrigerator go out. I called the company and told them it was maybe four years old. They had two people out to replace the motor the same day. What a difference from LG! Oh, and my LG is three years and four months old. I hear Speed Queen is the best, but I never see it sold anywhere! I would caution everyone to avoid LG!

I called a reputable local repair person who stated all their refrigerators are causing terrible repair needs and that the company will not assist them because they are not authorized repair service. As I said, there are NO authorized repair services in my state. I had to pay 300 dollars on my new expensive fridge and untold inconveniences only to call him back the next day because it stopped working again. Needed to replace the fan and then the computer board. This is such a piece of junk! Purchased a matching LG washer and dryer (Front load washer model WM3670HVA) including pedestal bases for both from JCPenney in July of 2017. All was well until; Dec. 7 when we heard a loud banging noise coming from our laundry room. The washing machine drum was hitting the back and front of the washer so violently that I thought it would break the door. I immediately shut down the washer and rebalance the load. The same thing happened when I restarted the washer. Every time the machine went into the spin cycle the drum would hit the front and back of the machine with such force that we thought it would crack the door. The load in question was towels and wash cloths. After we removed the towels we tried it with a lighter load, tee shirts and underwear, same thing happened again on the spin cycle.I called LG and reported the problem that day. They stated they would have their service vendor call me. Never received a call. Four days later I call again and get the same answer. Still no call. Called JCPenney to report the problem and they tried calling LG with no luck. The appliance manager told me that LG service actually hung up on her. Today is 12/18 and I placed my third or fourth phone call to LG. Guess what, I get the same answer stay by the phone someone will call. I ask to speak to a supervisor and she repeats what each of the service reps said, Youll get a call from the center tomorrow. Twelve days and I have a broken down washing machine and still no call from LG warranty service. Never again will I buy an LG product if this is the way they handle their warranties. What are my options???Updated on 03/17/2018: Today is March 17, 2018 and LG warranty service still has not repaired the washer described below. My advice to any consumer thinking of buying a LG appliance is DONT. If you dont believe this review simply read all the other reviews that have been submitted and you will be educated to the fact that when needed, LG Service and their warranties may not be there for you. In my opinion they are the worse of the worst. I am 76 years old and the process of seeking warranty support from LG has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Yesterday I spoke to LG for about the 15th time and they outright lied to me again saying they finally had a repair service to look at the washer. I immediately call the repair service and they tell me that they did not accept the work order and LG does this to them all the time. Shame on LG when they wont help consumers get what they are entitled to. Tells you something about their product and their Corporate attitudes. Ill keep fighting with LG but future consumers should heed the warning BUYER BEWARE.

I like my LG refrigerator model because the three freezer drawers are below the refrigerator. The freezer compartments do get smaller the lower the draw is because of the internal machinery of the refrigerator but that is easily overlooked. Upon examining more closely, the problem is a imperfection in the metal which gives such an appearance. Extremely annoying. I purchased an LG refrigerator. After about 1 1/2 year, the fuse blows. Now you would expect to just replace the fuse, but no. The design of the fridge is that you have to replace the entire circuit board costing hundreds. I dont know why, but I decided to do a little research. I went to YouTube and found a video of how to replace a fuse bypass circuit avoiding a big cost. My fiance and myself did this. Total cost is around $25.00 (gotcha LG) and we have no experience. If you can follow directions, turn the power off to the fridge, of course, and use your own judgement. I would do so again. Why do we think they fix it to where you cant pay to have a fuse replaced (which I have never heard of going out on a refrigerator that fast anyway)? So that maybe a company can makes lots of money by replacing the entire boards instead of just a $1 or $2 fuse. Just want everyone to know and to the person who did the YouTube video, thank you so much! And to LG, no thanks. I will not buy another LG product (lifes good). Life would be better without defective appliances.

My 1st review 10/2020 was not acknowledged... My issues with LG was with my dryer shortly after I purchased my combo from Sears in 2004. Over the last year or so our washing machine has been leaking more and more. The mysterious thing is that it’s intermittently. Well, it finally decided to go all the way crazy & water was spewing from the bottom of the washing machine from somewhere. By the time we noticed it our washing area and hallway was completely flooded upstairs and water was leaking all through our house downstairs. It was horrible! I’m now stuck with a washer we don’t want anymore out of fear of flooding & knowledge the manufacturing company will be no help. For the past hour I have been reading about unsatisfied customers with the same problems with the linear compressor. Since 2011, we also have lost numerous total food items, ice maker freezing up and plugging the chute, water dripping from the dispensers and the control panel peeling as well as the load and vibrating compressor noise. I eventually removed the little tray in the dispenser so I could monitor excess water leakage to immediately clean up. Also with the control panel peeling with possible water seepage, now some of the functions on the control panel no longer work. Two other family member also purchased this same model at the same time not knowing all these eventful problems. We all have experience the same problems. Removing all the food contents and unplugging the refrigerator 2-3 times a year seems ridiculous and also trying to remove the frozen water buildup that plugs up the ice dispenser is a pain.I see the same over and over form response from LG which tells customers to contact them, but I have not read if any of these hundreds (maybe thousands) have had any resolution. I know there was a Class Action Suit and Settlement Clark v. LG Electronics USA, Inc. Case No:3:13-cv-0485-JMJMA for models sold before January 2014. Why hasnt LG been made responsible to rectify this compressor problem. I too will never buy nor recommend an LG Refrigerator to anyone.

Gas knobs on my LG 30 freestanding gas convection range (model number LRG3097ST) have malfunctioned twice; each time, theyre causing gas leaks. When my husband called, we got 4 replacement knobs with the identical issue. The issue is the plastic inserts - they break and they continue to break. This is a known issue! In my humble opinion, there should have been a recall issued a while ago on this; and you dont have to be a NASA rocket scientist to figure that out. I looked at the complaints the customers have made against the LG line, and its been going strong since 2009. I am not sure what the Consumer Protection Board is waiting on. But Im hoping to at least use this venue to get the message out. The rest of the oven works wonderfully, but the gas leak from those knobs should be addressed, and if not by LG, at least by our own Consumer Protection Board.

Mind you it’s been the same tech all 4 times and they want me to schedule him again, which takes 10 days wait every time. Please read the reviews and see how bad they are. I’m disgusted with this company.Updated on 08/29/2019: I am now one month without a fridge. Took them 5 calls and 2 weeks to get back. They finally sent a tech who vacuumed out my fridge and left. I called 5 more times and finally got them to come back 2 weeks later to put in a new compressor. Fridge is now screaming loud and has gone up 10 degrees. They want to send a technician a third time and I hung up. The tech said he has replaced 74 lg compressors....that’s from the technician. If you call their number it says, “Are you having a cooling problem….” Stay far away from this brand. We are a large family and living out of coolers in August with no answer in sight.Original Review: I bought a LG fridge 2 years ago. My refrigerator quit cooling so I called customer service. They told me they extended the warranty to five years and I would receive a call within 3-5 business days. I never received a call within the time frame. I called twice during that time to check and and I always got the same response that it would be escalated. On the sixth day they told me it was scheduled out two weeks. I explained that we are a family of five and that’s crazy. Then I received a text confirmation telling me that it was actually 3 weeks out before someone would come out, but they would escalate and nothing else they could do. Runaway from LG fridges. It’s the middle of summer and we had to throw everything away and living out of a cooler. They could care less.... Customer service is worse than the actual refrigerator.... You’ve now been warned. They are aware of the issue due to when you call the automated message says is your LG fridge not cooling? Junk!!

Bought an LG French door fridge for $2,500 18 months ago and first the ice maker stopped working at exactly a week past 12 months, so out of warranty. Paid extra just to have that ice maker, what a waste, so this morning we find ice cream melted and steaks thawed in the freezer. Oh great, the freezer is broke at 18 months. Call LG and they say they will pay for the parts to fix the freezer but we have to pay for labor, guess how much? They say starts at $500 and that is if it is what they think is the problem. I dont think so. I would rather take that money and buy a different brand that will last. Oh and I just bought an LG microwave last month, I figure this time next year I will be buy another microwave. Talk about disposable appliances. Did an internet search about LG products and it doesnt look good.

We purchased an LG range and it was delivered on Dec. 14th. When I tried to convection/bake something at 225 degrees, it automatically went to 300 degrees. I tried putting a lower temperature in and the same thing happened, jumped right to 300 degrees. I called customer service and they told me that it needed to be serviced and set up a technician to come out on the following Tuesday. When the technicians came out (who were very unprofessional and unskilled), They replaced the main electronics panel. The oven still did the same thing. They called technical support at LG and the technician did not know why it did not fix the problem. He went to LGs test kitchen and found that all ovens of this model only convect at 300 degrees or higher. After speaking to a manager, LG informed me that there is nothing they can do and couldnt tell me if they have any oven brands that convection/bake below 300 degrees. The manager actually hung up on me and did not transfer me to anyone who could give me this information. My question is..... has anyone had this problem with LG ovens. Do other brands convection/bake below 300 degrees? We had a Hamilton beach countertop convection oven that would cook at lower temperatures. Is this just a feature on full size ranges?

I purchased a top loader washer in August 2012. I washed a couple loads of clothes and after drying them, they stink still. I decided to read the manual to see if I was doing something wrong. No, I sure was not. I tried the extra rinse cycle, etc. Still stinky clothes. I called Conns; they say I have to pay a 20% restocking fee. What! Thats crazy. The machine does not work good so thats a manufacture defect, not a customer issue. Anyway, they decided to send someone to look at it. The guy said, It sounds like youre doing everything right. Nothing wrong. I said, If clothes still stink, something is wrong. He said its the government because theyre trying to save the earth by using less water. Wow, so our clothes have to stink because we have a limit on water to use. This is real crazy to me. What is this world coming to take our money and dont care what we get in return? Pretty soon, we wont be a free country anymore. The government will be running everything.

I spent a lot of money on the MOST expensive LG refrigerator, stove with two ovens, dishwasher and microwave. The refrigerator model: LFXS30726S/00 is the French doors on top and the pull out lower freezer with 2 drawers on bottom. I have had these for three years. I have 5 kids. We live in a nice, well kept home. Nobody trashes our things and yet these expensive appliances have failed us many times.Refrigerator started collecting ice in the very back behind the panel (2 months into owning it). The compressor is bad after 3 years of owning. The part is covered but I have to pay $400 towards the labor and the parts not covered. I just lost 100s of dollars of groceries (just went to Costco and stocked up two days ago). The repairman says that he replaces this exact part over and over. LG knows that the compressor is bad and they won’t fix it. LG has foreigners who can barely speak English take your calls and they play dumb. The dishwasher is all scratched up and dented from little bumps that never dented my GE Profile appliances (granted they were not stainless). The upper and lower oven are a great concept but the upper oven burns the bottom of almost everything. The glass panel on the lower oven door had what looks like dark grease running in between the glass panels and you can’t clean it.The microwave has been pretty good but it came shipped with a broken part. The refrigerator water filters are super expensive for what? THEY ALWAYS LOOK DIRTY. ALL PRINTS SHOW UP. Every little thing shows up on the stainless. Sears told me that they had upgraded the stainless on this product and the handprints don’t show like it used to... BULL CRAP. They look dirty from the time you get them until eternity. You can wash them every single day and they still look streaky and just plain embarrassing. And to top it off, we have no refrigerator for 6 people until Feb 28th providing that the part comes in on time. He says that the compressors go out on almost every one of these refrigerators and they are perpetually on back order. LG, you should be ashamed of yourselves. This stinks. I cannot afford to take 6 people out to eat every day. I trusted your name and fell for the looks of the product. Super disappointed with this purchase!!!

My three year old washer is being consumed with rust. We are not careless and try hard to never splatter the chlorine. At the rate of corrosion there is no way the frame can last long enough to cover the 10 year warranty. Thinking this was surely a defect considering the $899 price tag, I called LG Customer Service. They are not located in the U.S.A. They then told me there is no warranty on the washer housing and began schooling me on being careful when adding the Clorox because it is very corrosive. Really? One would think the LG engineers would realize that when designing the washer. Now we have mechanical issues and are in need of other repairs. NOTE. LG is not American made. Definitely not worth the money and I do not recommend buying one.

We purchased this front load washer September 11, 2018. Weve been trying to get our washer fixed since Feb 1st 2019. LG tech came to our house, identified parts that were required. Said he would order them for overnight delivery and be back on Monday to install. Parts didnt arrive and we had to call repeatedly. He called finally to say the parts were on back order. Nothing happened so we began contacting LG customer service. We were told parts were ordered incorrectly then were told they were on back order and there was no delivery date. After numerous calls to LG customer service the parts showed up with overnight delivery. Same Tech shows up, installs parts (major parts like stator and main control board). Washer still doesnt work. Weve talked to 2 supervisors and cant get a tech back to his. Then the fun began! We have only been able to wash 2 towels at a time for months. LG Tech blamed us wash loads are too small. Youre causing this problem. Always wash 6 towels at a time. Of course it still didnt work. Then they offered a $50.00 voucher to go to the laundromat??? Weve taken several days off work and LG solution is a voucher to the laundromat. Next time the LG tech came to our house. He said I was obviously using too much soap. He recommended tub clean cycle at least 4 times and using vinegar in two of those cycles. LG tech promised to return on Monday. Of course that didnt happen. LG customer service told us this is our fault and we have neglected taking care of our machine. Bottom line they will not honor the warranty. LG front load washer in my opinion are bad but LG customer service is horrible.

I found this site while researching LG FL washers. I have had an LG WM2010CW washer for years now. I went through the mold issue and solved it with common sense. Im not disparaging anyone here with mold issues but these suggestions fixed my issue which was minor in comparison.Clean out the filter at the bottom of the machine; then run a clean cycle with a cup of vinegar. Pour it into the dispenser for detergent, not the bleach dispenser. When the cycle is done, re-clean the filter and wipe out interior with vinegar. Get out the goop manually. Remove the dispenser drawer and wipe out the entire compartment with vinegar. Allow to air dry overnight leaving out the drawer. Replace the drawer and run a rinse to remove the vinegar. Quit using fabric softener or dryer sheets and switch to an unscented powder detergent. You need to be able to smell the machine. Use 2 tbsp. per load for moderate water, 1 if your water is soft. Adjust up or down as needed from there. Fill the softener compartment with white vinegar. Run an extra rinse on every load to work on the buildup. If you are using scented detergent and its still strong-smelling after the cycle, it isnt rinsing out. To monitor rinsing, add a gallon of water through dispenser drawer during rinse cycle, or more if needed, to see water. If detergent isnt rinsing out, either the oil or dirt is in your clothes. Do this for a month or so as every load of clothes will be reintroducing mold to your machine. Fabric softener is made from animal fat and will get rancid and breed mold. It also leaves fatty, greasy residue on your clothes that detergent must cut through. Detergents are alkaline so the mold in your washer needs that environment. The vinegar is a mild acid. Once your washer is back to normal and you have detergent dosage worked out, use a max of a tbsp. of softener or mix softener (50/50) with vinegar. The clean cycle on your washer is for maintenance. It isnt designed to eradicate a major problem. It took awhile for the machine to get in such bad shape and it will take time to fix it.

We bought the LG LMXS30776S refrigerator in early 2017 and it was working okay (it did make louder than expected noises most of its short life) until December 15, 2019 when we woke up one morning to a trail of water on the floor and all of our food ruined. We paid for someone to come out to tell us that it was a dead compressor and to contact LG for a replacement part.An LG tech came out and replaced the compressor, and while the freezer worked, the fridge portion remained at room temperature. He came back the next day to fix it again, but the fridge did not get below 42 degrees. An LG contracted appliance repair company then came out and determined that new parts (fridge evaporator and another compressor) were required. They returned a week later and replaced the compressor again along with the fridge evaporator, but after they left nothing worked at all.The LG tech came out again and got fridge half-working again (still does not go below 42), but the freezer is still not functioning. LG tech now says we can get a new fridge due to multiple visits, but the LG customer service says their tech needs to say it is not repairable and why and the tech is not willing to make that call for us. We have now initiated the replacement request process three times (each time takes 3-5 days) the first two times weve waited a week only to find out they messed up the paperwork and had to start again. Weve been without a fully functioning fridge/freezer for over 6 weeks. Weve wasted hundreds of dollars on food that got spoiled. The LG refrigerator is an utter disappointment, as is their customer service.

I purchase the LG High-Efficiency washer and Electric dryer in 2011. For the past several years the bleach dispenser has become increasingly rusted, and now it is to the point where the clothes washed when the bleach dispenser is used are coming out with rust stains. I thought it might help if I left the washer top open after each wash to allow it to dry out, but this has not helped, and the top is becoming so rusted it will soon be unusable. The dryer no longer completes a full cycle on most of the settings - it will begin and then shut down within a few minutes. The LFX25973D/00 FRENCH DOOR refrigerator obviously has problems with its linear compressor. Almost every person who bought one of these, has the problem that it stops cooling after 2 years. I have read this over and over and over and over. If you replace the compressor-it breaks again in 2 years. It is ridiculous that I read reviews saying this is a great product when a class action lawsuit was opened up over this defect? Why can’t LG in S Korea manufacture a replacement compressor that isnt defective so everyone with this product can just put the new compressor in and everything is good? Instead 10’s of 1000’s of these are being left at city dumps. WHAT A WASTE. :-( It is very indicative of what type of company LG is when they do absolutely nothing about it and keep selling the product anyway. I will never ever buy an LG product ever again and I will tell every person I can to do the same.

Contacted LG service, tech came out found nothing. Took pictures of the finished wash with soap stains sent them to LG, another tech arrived and tried to solve the problem. No luck. Called again. Still no satisfaction. Finally after fourth tech I had a tech make a suggestion that seems to work. LG engineers in their infinite wisdom of trying to make a washing machine that is water efficient failed. The machine senses how much water based upon the weight of the items in the tub which basically doesnt wash squat. So by having the machine first wet the clothes and restarting the cycle the load is now heavier and the machine increases the amount of water in the tub to accommodate the heavier load. Now you have enough water to actually wash clothes! Seems a stupid way to get a machine to work, but it appears to solve the problem. Basically LG engineers need to learn how to actually test their product before sucking the consumer into buying junk!

Our direct drive, load self-balancing, year and a half old machine has been exhibiting all the unbalanced load problems frequently mentioned in reviews that I found after my wife told me that she keeps getting EU code indicating an unbalanced load which she redistributes by hand, followed by standing over the machine and holding it as steady as possible in order to finish the loads. When I tried to change the spin speed to low, the machine spun as fast as ever. After reading the other reviewers experience with LGs customer relations I intend to go out tomorrow and buy a non-LG washing machine and try to support any class action lawsuits that are inevitable (I hope). Maybe after their exploding cell phone problems are over, they will take care of their appliance customers. As one of the other reviewers mentioned, it seems as if LG didnt do their due diligence when it comes to product testing prior to bringing to market.

We have had an F3 error code issue for months, it threw the error for the first time 2 years to the month from date of manufacture. We have had the range for 26 months and the error for the last six months of that. After numerous calls with LG they would tell us to unplug the unit and at first that would clear the error only for it to return a few days to a week later, then when those calls resulted in the error never clearing they suggested that we have a tech out to fix it at our own expense since it was beyond warranty. After numerous visits from a LG referred appliance repair company, having LG first suggest we spend $200 on a part to replace the buttons, then when that didnt work asked to spend another $160 on the actual control panel part for the electronic system LG shipped a part for this stove which does not fit in the actual model we have. They apparently have discontinued the original part that is needed, at this point there is no part that fits our range which was manufactured 2 years ago in March 2018, we received the stove in June 2018 and have had issues with the F3 error button in a continuous shortage stage since about March 2020.This was not a cheap gas range. It cost ~$2,000 and to have spent $360 on parts + another $200 on labor at this point we are so frustrated. that is $560 that we could have put towards a stove that would not be a continuous pain the the side to have repaired, for an issue that should not be coming up so close to the manufacture date on an appliance of this cost only to find that they dont make the part we need any longer. I would not recommend purchasing a LG range to anyone I know.
