I have been noticing my husbands shirts as well as my clothes continue to get what are spots of bleach and I do not use bleach on anything other than whites. This has been going on for quite some time and I noticed this morning another outfit is RUINED because of bleach spots. I decided to look up on the internet if this is a problem with this machine - AND IT IS! I am so disappointed I could cry. The clothes I have are donated to me. All my clothes are hand-me-downs - and my Whirlpool washing machine is ruining all my clothes and my husbands.

A few weeks after we bought it, the washer was already having issues spinning out, and the clothes would have to go through another rinse and spin cycle. A bout a year and a half in and I had to replace the pump because it stopped draining. Even carefully loading the machine, and at least two or three times a week it would not spin out. Two weeks ago it stopped agitating actually performing washing action and spinning out all together. Last night I replaced the actuator which controls the speed or lack thereof in the spin. Still nothing. Ive reset it multiple times, still nothing. At least the clothes are getting wet. At tax return time I am replacing this piece if garbage and I will never get another whirlpool, or Maytag washer again because from what I have been told by dealers and repair men; they are all garbage.

We bought a washer in Sept. 2014 and it was used for 4 months before we left and went south for the winter. When we came back in May, we started hearing a loud banging noise so we notified Whirlpool since we were still under warranty. They sent a repairman and he said he needed to take the washer in so he could repair it. They have sent the part out 3 times and they said it was chipped or cracked so another would need to be sent. This has been going on for 2 months that weve been without the washer and today we checked and supposedly another part should be coming. They tell us our warranty is only for parts and labor not replacement. Help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I purchased my stove in June 2020. I had no idea it was to be connected to the internet, but no big deal. Had I known of all the other quirks I would have thought twice. 1: A red light comes on to tell you a burner is on but not which one. 2: A red light appears when a burner is hot but it doesnt show which one. 3: Only 3 burners out of 5 can be used for cooking the other 2 are warming and melting ONLY. 4: The stove updates its software whenever it feels like it and shuts off the oven and burners. 5: Periodically I have the oven on and it just turns itself off!6: The touch controls for the oven are in a bad spot because if you accidentally touch them when the oven is on the oven will shut off.Not sure if it has any serious problems just the inconveniences listed.

My wife and I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set less than three years ago. And so far the dryer has been ok, but our washer has had to have a new motherboard and now it smells like its burning. Our last washer and dryer set was a hand down and was over 15 years old and never had any issues like our new ones do. Ill never buy another Whirlpool product again.

My oven was a lemon from day one. The light bulb would not light, the oven would not come on. Had the repairman in cause it was under warranty, he replaced the gas valve. A month later the same thing happened, the oven did not light. Have been putting up with this for a little over a year, it is finally off warranty. Same thing happens, you go to cook something and it will not light, then the oven door broke! We had to pay to have a new hinge installed. Whoever heard of a oven door breaking? I have had ovens 40 years old and they still work and the door doesnt break. Needless to say, my oven is still doing the same thing, lights sometimes and other times does not. Called Whirlpool several times, they are nasty and wont stand behind anything. Customer service says there is no lemon law for stoves. I will not ever buy another Whirlpool anything and that is not a threat but a PROMISE.

Brand new Whirlpool dishwasher from PC Richards. Model #WDT710PAYB2. Dont buy one of these! In the store, I was turned off by the panel being on top of the door and not visible when the door is closed. I dont understand why anyone would not want to see the cycles and operation but my husband insisted that was a good thing so I agreed to purchase. Well, its horrible! I pressed the panel buttons the first time I tried to use it, and the panel switch is erratic and all over the place. For example, if I press Normal, the Heavy cycle button light goes on. When I hit start, all the button lights shut off. I finally get all the lights to stay on and hit start (after about 10 tries) and when I shut the door, the start button blinks and beeps! The dishwasher does not start. After many attempts, I got it to run, miraculously, for about 10 minutes. It emptied the detergent dispenser and left everything inside wet and slimy. Nice. I cant believe Whirlpool would sell such an inferior product. I have always been a loyal Whirlpool customer, but after this experience, I think its time to switch appliance brands. Now I have to be inconvenienced without a dishwasher after spending over $500 and wait for a repairman. Thanks, Whirlpool!

I am completely dissatisfied with the competence and accountability that I have encountered while dealing with Whirlpool Canada. I ordered a Whirlpool Refrigerator in September of 2011. I opted to switch the door swing myself since it is a relatively simple task and of course they charge you extra if they do it for you. Once I had the door installed, the last step was to screw on the handle. The door was missing the threading which allowed the handle to be installed. I contacted Goehmans to set up a service call. They looked at the fridge only to tell me that they needed to order an entire door. A month and a half later I had not been contacted by anyone regarding the whereabouts of the replacement door.Long story short, over four months later and after hours of phone calls recounting the details of the events numerous times to numerous employees, all Whirlpool had to say over and over again was I understand, but unfortunately we do not provide any compensation.€ They said that the warranty only covered repairs and not product replacement, which would be fine if it ever broke but they delivered a fridge that was not built correctly in the first place. They took no responsibility for the lack of quality control. After speaking with the supervisor Josh, and insisting that we be compensated for the inconveniences and frustration, he finally agreed to extend the warranty by 3 months. I told him that they should offer a year extension since if they stood behind their product that it wouldnt even cost them a cent. He politely told me that he understood and what email address did I want the extended warranty information to go to and that he would offer only the 3 month warranty. When I received the email, I found out that I had yet another phone call to make in order to engage the extra 3 month warranty.I am extremely frustrated with the level of service and I feel as though they school their employees to be therapists that offer no solutions. They were all very willing to listen and offer a sympathetic ear, tell you that they understand but not to take action or offer a solution. They seemed to think that it was acceptable that I pay them full price for a fridge but not deliver the full appliance for a projected 6-8 months. In my book and to most consumers, this is not acceptable. When I pay full price for a product, I feel that a full product should be delivered to me in working order. Whirlpool got their money and the special order door seems to be at the low end of their priority list. How else can they justify a 6-8 month wait for part replacement?Somebody please sell Josh a car with no stereo system, make him pay for the option and see if he if he thinks waiting 6-8 months for it is acceptable. Oh yeah, and waste 6-10 hours of his personal time trying find out where the heck his stereo system is then tell him how much you understand. I guess I can stroke Whirlpool off as a brand of appliance for any future purchases.

WRF989SDAF 29 Cu. Ft.. Weve had nothing but problems from this refrigerator. Water filter stopped working after 3 months. At one year, the left corner froze over and created a big bulge and repairman said it was a recall for a part and he had to completely dismantle the left side of the refrigerator. At one year 3 months, the ice maker started leaking water and all the ice melted and ruined our hardwood floors while we were on vacation. At one year 6 months, the freezer stopped working and we had to throw out hundreds of dollars in food. Along with the freezer stopping, the ice maker stopped as well and the water dispenser starting leaking again. What a nightmare this refrigerator has been!

I purchased a washer and dryer set, the Cabrio Platinum Series WTW8500BRO, about 3 years ago. I had a UL code come up a year ago and the machine was serviced and all was back to normal. Then only 9 months later it started acting up again. This time it sounds like an airplane taking off and there is a black spatter leaking from underneath, also the lid lock stopped engaging. I started to look up the error code for the lid lock and while reviewing that issue it was an easy fix, however, the noise and black spatter issue led me to tons of horrible reviews about this product. It is a bearing/tub/shaft issue that is going to cost me $500 to fix. First off I did not pay cash for this set, I rented it for 3 years and paid twice what it€s worth, around $4,000. Stupid on my part but I couldn€t afford it the other way. Weekly payments were easier. Now I am scared to fix this product because of all the reviews I€ve seen from other consumers. I haven€t had the other issues like dirty clothes, not enough water, high cycle times because they all start with a high number but after it configured the load the time shrinks, but this major issue about the bearings, they say I have to replace the entire tub assembly which is half the cost of the unit. So stupid and I cannot believe Whirlpool is getting away with this crap. Please please please inform me about any lawsuits. I will gladly participate in that. They should be held accountable for such a worthless piece of junk. Like I said I am now afraid to fix this machine because from what I€m reading, more than likely it will only last a short time.

I was doing a routine refrigerator cleaning and the glass I was cleaning absolutely shattered all over my kitchen. Shards of glass are everywhere including my disposal. I called Whirlpool and talked to a customer service rep. Of course, this is not under warranty. So I asked to speak with a supervisor. All I could get from her is Sorry, youre disappointed. We can replace that part for $87.71. It has taken me over two hours to clean up all the glass. I wouldnt be upset if I had mishandled the glass, but it broke when I was drying it with a towel! I€m wondering if anyone elses glass shattered in the same fashion.

Bought the washer from HH Gregg for over $560 12/2012. Turned on power 4/2014 and just heard clicking noises then nothing. Had to get technician. Paid for $75 service charge and waiting for cost of labor and part for the lid lock/latch assembly. I see a lot of complaints with this new machine. I bought a new one BECAUSE I did not want any problems with repairs. Whirlpool is ripping off the consumer passing out this piece of discombobulated metal, wires and electronics. An appliance like this should last AT LEAST 7 years without a problem. I wish there was a class action lawsuit and will be waiting to the day it surely comes.

We purchased our washer approximately six months ago. It is an energy-efficient top loader without a central agitator. If I wanted a washer just for lingerie then I would be satisfied. But I need a washer that will clean farm clothes. My husband works hard and his clothes show it. This washer does not clean them. I even tried putting very few items in at a time. They still arent clean. I have to take my heavily soiled laundry to the laundromat. My other main complaint is the baffling feature of a lock mode. I spend countless minutes standing by my washer waiting for it to unlock so I can toss in an extra item or add fabric softener, etc. When we removed the latch, the washer didnt work at all. Replaced the item at a cost of $40. Infuriating!

We bought the Whirlpool Cabrio forcibly when our 20-year-old top load whirlpool finally gave out. The Cabrio sucks. It does not get anything clean, it ruins clothes due to low water which creates friction, clothes are left wrinkly, smelly, pilled with lint, stinky and unclean. Ive had it for a year and Ive given every cycle a chance. It simply does not do what it is supposed to.The HE washers are supposed to reduce water, but having to rewash everything several times with load times up to two hours not only increases the amount of water used but increases the amount of energy used. Our electric bill has gone up $30-55 a month on average. This doesnt even account for the fact that Im spending nearly 16 hours a week doing laundry for a household of five. Thats nearly triple the time I used to spend on laundry. From having to pretreat even the most minor stains to spending hours trying to get the wrinkles out, and having to remove pills of lint, to the fact that one wash cycle does not get the odors out nor the dirt out therefore multiple cycles are required. I honestly think I might spend less time if I hand wash everything, I certainly would get them clean and deodorized. UNFORTUNATELY Government regulations force the consumers to buy HE washers so our choices for clean deodorized clothes are non existent. If I had to do it again I would buy a used non-HE washer knowing it would run another 10 years and actually get my clothes clean.

I have a Whirlpool refrigerator model number wrx735sdhz and its been a lemon since I bought it. The ice machine totally backs up and the Chute overflows and Im always scooping ice out. Had another technician out today. He saw my frozen sour cream download Frozen pickles and everything else Frozen. Then because I had to have the ice maker replaced in March and it did nothing for the unit he reports back to A Plus Appliance that theres nothing to be done and he says his diagnostic tests come back that it is fine. Im going to post a very negative review about them. Lowes told me that if he would have reported differently they would have given me a voucher and refunded my money. So have another Appliance repairman come in tomorrow.I bought the extended warranty and so far its gotten me nowhere. As many times as Ive had to unclog it and throw away food I could have had technicians out here hundreds of times for this defective refrigerator. Plus on the two service calls I had they said that there has been numerous complaints about this model and the ice maker and freezing over. I have thrown thousands of dollars of food away over the last 2 years. Lowes extended warranty has got me nowhere.

Whirlpool Quiet Partner II Model # DU1055XTUS1 - We bought the dishwasher in Aug 2010 and after the 2nd yr, it started to occasionally shut off by itself in early cycle. After 3 yrs, it now shuts off repeatedly... needs to be restarted at least 15 times. It use to shut down early in the cycle. Now it shuts off whenever. I should have read the reviews on this dishwasher before buying but it was on sale for such a good price. I guess I got what I paid for. Just keep in mind that Whirlpool dishwasher seem to last only 3 years. I guess thats also why their warranty for electrical parts is one of the worst compared to other brands.

We purchased a top of the line (we thought) Whirlpool stainless dishwasher 15 months ago from HHGregg. All was fine until 2 weeks ago - it produced a burning smell and was making a funny noise. We had it looked out. The motor is burning out. I called Whirlpool and explained the issue. There is nothing they can do. It is over 12 months. Really? They cant stand behind their product? I understand if it was a small part or such but an entire motor burning out in just over a year? I know that not all products can be perfect, some times mistakes slip through the line. I guess it was silly of me to expect a company in todays age to stand behind their name and product. Obviously, with this company, it is buyer beware.

The Gold Series Whirlpool dishwasher has some cool features for changing the configuration of the shelves, etc. After that its all downhill. Poor washing, worse drying. In the past 6 months Ive tried: less dishes, redistribute them differently every use, lower/raise upper shelf, use liquid detergent, powder packets, drying agent... nada. Absolutely NO remnant of food can be on the dishes. Of course I rinse everything well prior to loading washer; this one wants them CLEANED. I dont give a flying fig how loud a machine is as long as its doing its job. This one quietly does very little. AND the genius who designed that horrid cutlery basket needs a new job.The basket slides onto the inside of the door, making it difficult to reach into; it can sit on the outside of the lower tray but it falls off at the slightest disturbance. The baskets are narrow with hinged lids; the lids have small and medium slits so items are placed individually. If your cutlery is the right size! Ours is a little wide in the handle, they dont fit and must be placed into the opened, narrow baskets and butt up against each other. We are only 2 folks, I cook one meal a day and run the washer TWICE because bowls and pots take up the entire space, so I either wash the remainder by hand or keep the sink full of dirty pots and dishes. LOVELY. Bring back the old washer!!!

We purchased the pair a year ago and its been nothing but headaches. First of all, half the clothes dont even get wet. They say its high efficiency but I dont think theres any efficiency when it doesnt even wash them. Second, when it actually does wash them, it leaves detergent all over the clothes. Imagine your black dress pants with white bleach like streaks all over them. We called because we were under warranty and a repair man came out. Totally useless. He said because its high efficiency, its supposed to do that. Not clean my clothes?? Why would I have purchased a WASHING machine that doesnt clean clothes?? Is there some other use for it Im unaware of?? He told us to try using deep water setting and extra rinse. So now we can wash 3 pair of socks at a time instead of one. Yippee.Do NOT BUY THIS CABRIO WASHER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Youd be better off with a plastic bucket from the dollar store. If you get it as a gift, the person who bought it for you may secretly hate you. I wish wed had the benefit of these reviews. Now were out $1500. Will NEVER, EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. Not only does it not work, they refuse to recall it or refund it. Off to the laundromat to WASH my clothes.

I purchased a matching set Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer and dryer in 2007. Bought from Conns for $2,100. After 3 months of ownership, the circuit board had to be replaced on the washer. Three months later the heating element was replaced on the dryer. Just recently I spent $350.00 to replace 4 drum suspensions. The washer literally shook my home. 3 weeks later, the circuit board needs replacement (code F1). Estimate to repair - $325.00. The dryer is not working properly. Im having to run the clothing thru 2 cycles. Back to the washer. It shreds my towels. Ive read where other consumers have had this same problem. These are expensive towels. So, only 7 yrs. into ownership and I am replacing this junk with the old school washer/dryer. Unlike the Cabrio washer, I will have a washer with an agitator that will actually clean my clothing. Whirlpool manufactures trash and the Cabrio duo was the worse purchase I have ever made. Do not purchase Whirlpool and definitely do not purchase Cabrio.

I bought my first Cabrio set in 2008 to replace Maytags that lasted forever but looked their age on the outside. No problem with cleaning and drying, just wanted something new. What a mistake! I looked in Consumer Report Guide to pick and found the Cabrio set. Had problems after the first 4 months - UL uneven load codes flashing up, and had to replace suspensions and bearings, boards, etc. Unfortunately within that 4 months I bought another Cabrio set to put in my vacation home. Started with the same issues and really hard to get a service technician to come out because of where we were located. Customer service with Whirlpool sucks as well as Sears service. It is AMAZING to me that Whirlpool will NOT stand behind this product. I am writing this as I see an F1 code flashing on my washer here at my second home. I have a load of towels in it and house guests arriving in the morning! I will be trashing this washer and dryer and finding something old school and reliable. I want no bells and whistles, just clean and dry clothes. Whirlpool, you should be ashamed.

This company should be avoided at all costs. Purchased 2 Whirlpool dishwashers in 2018 and in less than 2 year the top dish rack glide rail front wheel broke off causing the rack to drop down and render the dishwasher unusable. Warranty was one year and I went online only to notice that the OEM factory replacement part(s) are now made out of stainless steel (or aluminum). I also noted that the parts were made prior to 2015 (date on the video and other vendor sites) Which is a good 2 years prior to my purchasing of this product. This means that they obviously knew there was an issue but continued to produce and sell them with known faulty parts well after they realized at least 2 plus years when you consider that they would have had to re-tool, redesign and send to production prior to the product release date.So it looks like they have continued to sell the product knowing fully well they were defective and did so just to sell replacement parts or to use up existing parts inventory. Either way this means this company has no scruples and does not stand behind their product. Another stain on the reputation of products made in China! Shame on you Whirlpool!

We purchased a Cabrio top loading washer WTW6400SW2 and 2 Cabrio Dryers WGD6200SW1 (one for our cabin) in 2007. Since day one the washer tied clothes in knots, never cleaned the clothes properly, and went out of balance several times each load. We purchased from Best Buy who did their best to service the dryer (black, rusted vents replaced inside dryer). But as for the washing machine, we were told there was nothing they could do. The repairmen stated Whirlpool was aware of this issue and doing nothing. When I called Whirlpool, they said no repairs were logged for the washer. No, of course not. The repairmen said there was nothing they could do! This went on and on until our machines went out of warranty. Now Whirlpool happily tells us with glee in their voice that its out of warranty and there is nothing they can do. They know there is nothing they can do. The design is faulty! The line needs to be pulled out of manufacturing! Whirlpool did say they would log a customer complaint on the design. Right. Im sure they dont have any of those yet. Whirlpool is defrauding the consumer with products they know are defective. Please people, do not purchase any Whirlpool products. Put them out of business where they belong.

I purchased their washer, dryer, refrigerator, freezer, oven, and dishwasher. All were brand new when my home was built in 2006. Whirpool is the absolute worst home appliance company in both customer service and product. I would save my money and purchase any product other than a Whirlpool or Maytag. All of my appliances are a little over 5 years old and all have had multiple problems. Corporate takes the attitude of oh well, pay for the multiple repairs or buy new after 5 years or less. Ive never heard of disposable appliances, but Whirlpool has a full line of them! I would rate them less than 1 and just plain **!

I purchased this Whirlpool, model YGY397LXUQ04, electric range in midsummer 2011 and used it very infrequently for approximately 5 months as we were away for 6 months during the winter. On approximately June 15, 2012, we found that the keypad would only register 350 deg. F for the oven if we pushed the bake button two times and the oven temperature would go up to 550 deg; F if we pushed the 7 button 3 times. In discussion with the service manager from Whirlpool, he advised that the stove was out of warranty and they would supply parts at no cost but we would have to pay the labor costs which in my estimation would cost over $200. After searching the internet for similar problems, it was evident that this problem was not uncommon. I am concerned about the quality of this product and if it can possibly be a fire hazard. I would not recommend this product as the quality, possible safety issues and reliability are a significant concern.

I purchased a new Whirlpool refrigerator, side by side in August 2013. The ice maker made ice but the size of the ice was much smaller than usual, however we lived with it. Soon it only made about a handful of ice a day, which defeats the purpose of an ice maker. So we called the store we bought it from and they sent a repairman. The problem was not solved until about the 4th visit from the repairman. I was told there was no problem with our ice maker from the first 3 repairmen. In the meantime the refrigerator side started pooling water in the bottom under the bin... Had to call again for that problem (they fixed). Now the door is showing rust under the handles. I have contacted Whirlpool and they have told me thats too bad, but they dont have to do anything because read the fine print, it is not their problem and thank you for being a Whirlpool customer. I am very disappointed in this supposedly good company... Is this corporate America? Never again will I buy Whirlpool.

This is unacceptable. We just want to know what to do to fix this problem. There is only one person who uses the ice maker, and no one uses the water in the door.

I bought a new washer and dryer 2 years ago, it was built by Whirlpool under the Kenmore name plate. In the first two weeks we had them come and service it as it was very loud in spin mode. The serviceman said they were all like that. Now, two years later, it is so loud you cannot even carry on a conversation while in the spin mode. Called for service again. After two minutes he says, You better buy a new washer, this one will cost over $800 to fix. Never will buy another Whirlpool appliance or Kenmore again. Buyer beware!

The first thing I noticed after purchasing this stove was that the glass top did not clean properly. I used the product given to me by Sears and tried several others but still could not take marks off of the glass top. I never really used the oven that much until retired and started baking often. The self clean does not work at all unless by self clean they mean that you yourself cleans -- I should say scrub it down. I previously had a regular self clean and it truly self cleaned. All I did was take wet paper towel and wipe out. Yet when I asked the Sears saleswoman about how it cleans I was told that it was terrific -- I would not have any problems! What a laugh!

I purchased Whirlpool top loading washing machine model # WTW57ESVW less than 2 years ago. It stopped working yesterday. I had a trusted professional repairman evaluate it today. The motor needs to be replaced after less than 2 years?! The customer service reps basically said sorry. I should have purchased the extended warranty. Is it not reasonable to trust that a Whirlpool washing machine motor should last more than 2 years.I am very unhappy and very angry that Whirlpool will not stand behind their product. The last customer service rep I spoke to suggested she could send one of their repairmen and replace the motor at a cost to me of $299.00. So, after less than 2 years, I am offered an amount to pay of about half the cost I paid less than 2 years ago for the brand new washing machine. My home is full of Whirlpool appliances. I have been a good and loyal customer for over 30 years. I am very angry and upset with Whirlpool. Please explain to me why it is not reasonable for me to trust and believe that a Whirlpool top loading machine that is well cared for and not abused in any fashion should last longer than 2 years? Is this being a loyal Whirlpool customer gets you, I should have purchased the extended warranty€? We are talking about a motor here, not a fabric or bleach dispenser that breaks. Although, those parts should not break either, there is a big difference from something like that and a motor. Please contact me as soon as possible at either number listed above. Thank you.

I recently purchased a top of the line self-cleaning Whirlpool/KitchenAid range. Or so I thought. I used the self-cleaning feature for the first time only to find out it literally does not do anything. Whirlpool quickly answered my Saturday morning phone call and were very professional. When I told them the Aqualift did not work, they asked if I purchased the Aqualift kit. No, what does it contain? Two sponges and a scraper. Basically I was told I would have to clean the oven manually. That would be fine except I have osteoarthritis and cannot clean it manually. Shame on Whirlpool and KitchenAid and Consumer Reports for not doing their due diligence and not testing important features accurately, over a greater period of time with real day-to-day scenarios with people who actually know what they are doing.

We purchased a Whirlpool Gas Water Heater (Model No. N40T61-343) from Lowes in the Summer of 2013. 2.5 years later, the water heater goes out as of 01/19/2016. Therefore, I contacted the telephone number on the side of the water heater in order to restart the water heater. We followed the instructions by pushing in the pilot button, as well the ignition button. To no avail, the water heater did not restart. I called customer service on Thursday (01/21/2016) to speak with a representative. She said that we needed another Thermopile and a Gas Valve replacement. So, who is going to put it on? It would cost as much as getting a whole new water heater. Therefore, we are going to Menards to purchase the Richmond Gas Water Heater. We had a Richmond once before; and it lasted from 1999 or 2000, until 2013.After reading all the reviews about this brand water heater (Whirlpool), no wonder people are complaining. Ladies and gentlemen, do yourselves a favor and not buy a Whirlpool Water Heater. The only thing that Whirlpool is good for is only their name. Their Water Heaters in particular are worthless pieces of junk. NEVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL GAS WATER HEATER AGAIN!!!

Whirlpool Gold Freestanding Accu bake Duo FIRE HAZZARD - We bought our hous
Whirlpool Gold Freestanding Accu bake Duo FIRE HAZZARD - We bought our house August 2013 and we were SO happy to see the stainless steel appliances and we thought Whirlpool was a good brand that our grandparents stood behind for years (they obviously havent bought from them in 50+ years... times must have changed for the worse). Anyway, I got all moved in and was fixing supper and noticed how REALLY dark and greasy the oven was. I could barely see inside because the coating of grime was so thick that it dimmed the light by being so thick over the glass bulb cover. I immediately thought Wow... the past homeowners were nasty and lazy because they have this nice self-cleaning oven and dont even bother to clean it. I noticed it smelled slightly like it had a gas leak somewhere when it was preheating but it cooked the supper okay that night.Because it was hotter than a jungle in NC in the summer heat of August, I decided to wait until winter to use the self-clean... thought it would warm the house as it got rid of the gunk, right? I kept using the dark coated oven about a total of 25 times and always noticed the faint gas smell at first when it would preheat. I thought maybe it was SO dirty that the oven seal wasnt working right and since it was now November, I figured I should just run the self clean cycle and maybe it would make it run properly as it was REALLY dirty and the igniter or something may actually be clogged. I figured it would probably stink a little at first when it started the cleaning cycle because of the excess build up but it needed cleaning so bad that I cleaned it... The smoke alarms started to go off, we just disconnected them for peace and quiet... Our throats and eyes were burning and it smelled more like plastic burning... FOR HOURS it was horrible! The walls and the Terracotta tile floor were flaming hot!!! The next morning the house actually smelled like it had caught on fire and it stayed that way for weeks! The oven was very clean inside after the cleaning BUT the oven is now totally useless! It will not stay lit. I have never been able to use it again as it will not come up to temperature... just clicks over and over and hisses trying to light. I tried again today and it started LOUDLY hissing like a big open gas pipe was on in there and I got scared and cut it off. THANK GOD it went off!I have been reading similar complaints about Whirlpool Gold ovens for a couple hours now and I am truly scared to use this oven now. After reading the comments of the hundreds of dollars it will take to get it to bake again and how most people STILL had the same reoccurring issues and NO help from Whirlpool... Well I decided to share my experience in hopes that if anyone else is reading this... and I am sorry to say... Well... you are not imagining the problem either. We never read these blogs like this BEFORE we buy or use our appliances, only AFTER something scares the crap out of you and you look for a recall. If I could afford to sue Whirlpool for a replacement then I would. I wish everyone could afford to sue Whirlpool for their unresolved issues that have cost them unnecessary expenses due to the customer loyalty we have had for Whirlpool as we used to be taught You get what you pay for and Do not go with an off brand because those companies go out of business when you need them to repair or service stuff. Am I the only one that was taught this? Times are very hard now and the economy is getting worse and now we have to be screwed by big companies like Whirlpool getting rich off of hardworking people and they do not care enough o help pay for the poor workmanship issues they are making. Shame on you, Whirlpool. I am taking the rest of the day to read reviews on a replacement stove so I can get this ticking time-bomb out of my new home. I too have read enough about the same oven that others have had worse memories than I did. I will not waste anymore of our hard-earned money on Whirlpool ovens. You have to decide what is good for you....

I had started the dishwasher and had gone to bed last night. I came downstairs ten minutes later to get a bottle of water. There was smoke throughout my downstairs levels. Our Whirlpool Gold Dishwashers control had dark, noxious smoke emitting from it. I tried to turn it off but it was too hot to touch. I went to the breaker box and shut it off there, turned on fans, and went back to bed. This morning, it turned the electricity back on. It started smoking again. I tried to cancel the cycle but it wouldnt cancel. I opened the door to stop the cycle and it continued spraying water and still wouldnt shut down. I had to shut it off at the breaker again. Next problem is my refrigerator, washer and dryer are all on the same breaker. UGH! This is the second Whirlpool I have had. The first one had a rusted tub that leaked into our basement. In June 2003, I purchased a Whirlpool Gold Conquest Side-by-Side satina finish refrigerator (Model Number: GAS6SHAXLL03; Serial Number: SP1452552). The ice-maker has always had freezing up issues which I never complained to the company about. It has made weird noises (nothing major) but was already out of warranty. I paid $1,600-1,700 for it. I did not have the money to pay for repairs and I am sure that the repairman would have never found the problem. Two days ago, there was an electrical smell in the house. After an hour or two, it started getting stronger and stronger so my husband looked at the fridge. There was smoke pouring at the back of it so he pulled it away from the wall and we unplugged it. Surprisingly, the plug was not hot. Had I not been home, it could have caught fire, burned the house down and killed my dog! I am furious about this. When I called, Whirlpool says, That model is not under a recall. Would you like me to transfer you to service for repair? Really? Those big corporations dont care! There needs to be a recall on this because I have seen this same problem many times on blogs and forums. Well, guess what, I used to be a Whirlpool fan, not anymore! Now, I went and purchased a new refrigerator, and the brand name is Samsung! I recently bought a Samsung front loading washer and dryer and they are great. It looks like the Whirlpool dishwasher in my kitchen will be next! I bet Samsung makes a nice dishwasher.

Cabrio WTW8200YWO - We purchased this washer five years ago. About a year ago it started getting noisier and noisier on spin cycle. Now it sounds like a jumbo jet taking off. A Google search quickly revealed this is a ubiquitous problem with these washers. As we are in our 70s and dont have kids at home, we are very light users of the washer. First, I would suggest that no one buy this washer. Second, I suggest that Whirlpool should recall these washers. I called Whirlpool and it turns out they clearly know about this issue. The good news is they will offer you a discount on repairs or even on a new machine. The bad news is it will still cost you several hundred dollars to fix their design defect. I suggest that you avoid purchasing Whirlpool products both because of their defective design and because of Whirlpools unwillingness to take responsibility for these problems.

I would not recommend this product at all, nor would I recommend the Whirlpool Company. This washer was over $1200.00. Within two weeks of purchase, I had to call a service repair company as I was immediately having issues with the washer not draining. Being a front loader, this machine required using the appropriate HE detergent. I followed the instructions, used the appropriate products and had nothing but continuous problems. It is a (lemon), and very frustrating, as it does not seem repairable. No serviceman could give an appropriate reason as to why the washer would not drain, nor could they figure out why. It didnt matter the size of the laundry load or the type of items...towels, jeans, or silky delicates...the washer failed at turning from the wash cycle to the drain cycle. It also leaked because of the lack of draining, and began building up a mold film and odor even though I consistently wiped it dry and left the door opened when not in use. I received no assistance from Whirlpool and was given the runaround and told I must be doing something incorrectly.

My Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator is just 4 years old. When they delivered it, they noticed damage on the bottom which required them to bring me a new refrigerator. The new one had issues with the ice maker that required multiple service calls to fix. The refrigerator door always seemed a bit misaligned as it was a bit lower than the freezer door, but it closed, so I never complained. I was just tired of all the issues! During the last six months, the door started to remain ajar instead of closing completely so that we had to always be sure to apply sufficient pressure to close it tightly. I considered calling in a repair, but it was still closing so I thought I might be overly critical. As it got worse, I realized the door was defective, but one day, it just fell off completely without warning as though the hinges were made of butter! After multiple service calls, a tech reattached the door, but I could see that it would not hold and sure enough, it is starting to remain ajar again. I have contacted the warranty company who is now saying the service tech claimed we were hanging on the door. This repair company the warranty company uses has an F rating with the BBB. Now, Im being told it may take a couple weeks to get another repair company to give them an opinion, but the issue is clear, the door was defective and it looks like they found a way to avoid having to make good on the warranty!

Not cooling properly on wpf560smywc2 French door - Milk only last 3 days. Temp wont stay consistent. 4 times out and say normal. Ice is forming on fan in freezer and back wall causing no flow in refrigerator but freezer cooling. Only 3 months old. Lowes Service Advantage (Extended Warranty) nor Whirlpool will replace or do anything about it. Was told 3 times out and replacement then today they sent me email with their policy or 3 times out with a repair (Parts must be changed) wait 30 days then another repair etc. then on 4th repair will replace. Lied to buy sales and called liar by repair guy when he told Whirlpool nothing wrong. I just wanted a new one cause I didnt like features. Lowes has a return policy which has in fine print only 30 days for refrigerator so they wont help. Was told I have to do a food loss claim and they would email form. Still hasnt happen. Lied to and get a replacement or repair and cant afford another.

August 15, 2011 - We purchased a new Whirlpool Water Heater Model N50T61-40
August 15, 2011 - We purchased a new Whirlpool Water Heater Model N50T61-403 for $398 from Lowes. We used their recommended installer (that was our first mistake!). He made the following installation mistakes: 1. He connected the hot water to the cold water & the cold water to the hot water. 2. He installed DRYER venting instead of HVAC venting. 3. He used flammable tape on the venting instead of screws. 4. He had incompatible metals touching near the gas line which can create an electrical charge & thus, a sparking situation. 5. He left us with a gas leak. 6. He did not install the screen that is supposed to surround the base of the water heater.7. He failed to strap down the expansion tank. These failures were discovered by an HVAC person who was in our basement to give an estimate on a replacement of the furnace & AC coil at the same time this genius was installing our water heater. The installer overheard the comments & literally... he disappeared & we never saw him again! We told all of this to Lowes & they were not phased in the least -- indeed, they didnt even seem surprised! They sent out a few other guys from the same company to correct the errors. So, it finally was installed & passed the county inspection & we had hot water again... for a little while. Within a few months the water heater pilot light would not stay lit. I was having to relight it once a week or so. After much arm twisting, we were finally able to get Whirlpool to send out a new pilot light assembly and pay for the installation. It was installed July 25, 2012. And.... it worked for 8 months. After returning from a trip on April 30, 2013, we went to take showers & the water was cold. The same problem was happening again... The pilot light had gone out while we were out of town & it will not stay lit & I have to relight it every 2-3 days.We talked to an assistant manager at the Lowes store where it was purchased. He talked to Whirlpool & Whirlpool said they would pay for the parts but not the service call which would be $149. I also learned today from the same manager that Whirlpool will not replace the product until they have replaced the same parts three times. Hmmmm.... Lets do some basic math here. $149 x 3 = $447! Thats MORE than the water heater cost! We believe that the water heater has been defective from day one & we also contend that their replacement part for the pilot light assembly is also defective (by design??). A pilot light assembly should last longer than 8 months! We are getting ready to build a new home within the next year. We will get to choose our supplier & the manufacturer of the appliances that will be in our home. Needless to say, Lowes will not be on the list. They keep saying, Our hands are tied. (Not buying it!) And Whirlpool will definitely be off of our list as their customer service is the worst Ive ever seen & their product quality is sub par. The other thing I experienced with Lowes was that when I tried to leave a review on their site for this specific product... twice... both reviews were rejected. The reviews presented the facts as Ive stated here, but because they showed Lowes & Whirlpool in a negative light, they were not posted on lowes.com. So, consumer beware -- their reviews are heavily screened so that the negative reviews rarely get posted. The consumer should be aware that the reviews on Lowes website are heavily screened & therefore do not equally represent consumers who have had a negative experience. This is an integrity issue.

Ice maker has stopped making ice on several occasions. Also when you try to get ice out of the door dispenser, it will continues to release ice but will not go down the chute and when you open refrigerator door it spills out all over the place. Getting ice other than from the door is no easy task. I have taken to putting a bowl under the ice dispenser. Interior of refrigerator is not user friendly for positioning items. Bought in a hurry back in 2017 and have regretted it ever since.

In October of 2014 we purchased our beautiful Whirlpool WRF990slam00 refrigerator from Lowes. We were super happy to have this big beautiful piece of equipment in our kitchen. From the start it ran a little loud but we were assured that this was normal. It seemed to function pretty well until 3 days after the one year warranty ran out. First thing, opened fridge door to a waterfall. Ice machine apparently was no longer working and 2 days later the fridge and freezer both stopped working and blowing warm air.Everything in the fridge and freezer had to be thrown out. I started making calls on November 2nd to see if Whirlpool would stand behind their $2,000 product and make good on repairs. It is now December 17th and we are still without a fridge. Not sure right now what is happening and I am afraid to call as I am sick to death of the whole thing. All I want is a fridge that works! Not too much to ask after spending $2,000. I am saving you the gory details as it would take me 10 pages but I have made SEVERAL calls. I hope to have Whirlpool step up and do the right thing but, I am not going to hold my breath.

Purchased this Dishwasher on Feb. 28, 2015. In June 2016 about a 2 by 3 inch section of the enamel face on the door rusted and fell off above the air vent. After three hours of hold time between Lowes (with the extended warranty) and Whirlpool (their warranty department) it was determined that this was not covered by either warranty as it was beyond the date of the 1-year mfg warranty and was not covered by the extended warranty (it was only a cosmetic issue). As these calls took place over a matter of 2 days, it was interesting that between day 1 and day 2, Whirlpool had issued a statement that no rust repairs would be covered under any warranty repair - regardless, unless it affects the functionality of the dishwasher. In other words, they KNOW this is an issue with this model and are doing nothing to fix the problem. I must say that the folks at Lowes were most helpful; cannot say the same for the folks at Whirlpool. I do not think I will trust their products again.

I purchased a Duet Front Loading Washer (model WFW9750) in May 2010. In September 2011, the noise level had become intolerable. I called a local service company. They advised me that the main bearing was bad. It would cost more to repair than what it was worth. I contacted Whirlpool. They could not do anything unless the machine was inspected by one of their authorized service companies, which they scheduled. Two weeks later, A&E Factory Service arrived and confirmed that the bearing is bad and the cost to repair will be $1,542.06. Whirlpool customer service transferred me all over the country to tell me that the machine was out of warranty and there was nothing they could do.

My refrigerator will be 3 years old in September. It stopped working two months after my warranty ended, in November Thanksgiving Day. I was so thankful that I had snow on my deck to keep everything cold. I had several family members in my house and watching my husband defrost a frost-free frig? This was a nightmare. Then a few weeks later, my husband company refrigerators did the same thing: freeze up and stop working. He defrosted theirs as well.I know that lots of consumers have had the same issue with any of the bottom freezer refrigerator doing the same thing. I think we, consumers, should make these company recall these lemons. Why should we have to pay more and buy more our parents had their appliances last for years. He had done this approximately 3 times since my warranty ended in September of last year. The problem is the food goes bad, the freezer ices up, causing the refrigerator to ice up and stop the air flow.I contacted the company and this is what they told me: I had to pay $295.12 to get the repair completed. It was the DEF control board. I guess others have the compressor go out and that cost over $600 to fix. Why is it our fault as a consumer buying their products promised and concern for 1 year, not 10 years. It is no wonder why America is broke? My question to the Whirlpool was, how on earth can this be the consumers fault? Here is their reply:According to the model and serial number provided, we do not indicate that there are any known recalls with this particular model. A recall requires that a product poses a threat to a persons life or health. Since this is not the case in this instance, we do not have a recall. Once a product warranty has expired, any costs for maintenance, service, or component replacements are then within the owners time frame of responsibility. Taking this into consideration, I regret to inform you that due to the age of the product, we will be unable to assist with the cost of the repair. If you have purchased an extended warranty, we would recommend contacting your extended warranty provider directly to discuss the options they provide.Oh, they sent me a postcard asking if the repair service I received was good... Yes, the company who came out did a fantastic job. I think I may have to call them back; it is acting up again. I have 90 day warranty....

We bought a gas Whirlpool Stove from Lowes. We noticed it was not heating like our last stove and thought maybe because it was new. No the stove does not heat properly at all. I cooked a pork loin for 40 minutes at 350 and it was still raw in the middle. I have had to cook everything on 375 which makes the door handles and knobs very hot. I called Lowes and they patched me into Whirlpool after a 45 minute wait. The rep from Whirlpool said, you can look at the manual and figure out how to calibrate it. No I cant. I have a warranty that is what it is suppose to cover. Then I was on hold for another 20 minutes. Really no one should tell you to read a manual to fix a gas stove. I will not buy another Whirlpool item. Poor customer service and that make you feel you are bothering them.

Just purchased a new Whirlpool Counter Depth, French Door, Freezer on bottom, Refrigerator from Lowes. Delivered Sept 1, missing the flap that makes the seal between the two doors. Shelves can be seen inside the fridge with doors closed. Exposed wires on the side of the door in a port with no cover. The fridge is unusable. Cold air flows out between the doors, temperature will not go lower than 45º. Moisture build up on the top and dripping down through the fridge. Frost build up on the back. Refrigerator runs continually. Had to shut it down. Called Whirlpool Sept 2. They will not replace the defective product. I must wait for a repair. The promise was within 24 hours for a technician to call. Called them Sept 2. Local family operated appliance repair company did not receive the request until Sept 4. They do not have the part nor does the parts supply company they deal with. Its on back order. Whirlpool has the part but long weekend and it will not be here until Sept 8 at the earliest. Whirlpool has advised Lowes that the issue is dealt with. I will see the technician on Sunday (Sept 6). Small family Business does not operate on Sunday or holiday, Monday, and have advised Whirlpool of this multiple times. Whirlpool doesnt care. I paid $2700 and do not have a working refrigerator. I will never purchase another Whirlpool Appliance.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer and dryer from HH Gregg and have had continuous issues with the washer. We have had the lid springs replaced two times since we purchased it and they are out again. I called our service company to ask why we have to continue to replace the springs very 6 months and they said it was a problem Whirlpool was having with this unit. I called Whirlpool and after being on the phone for 45 minutes, they told me there was not a recall, but I could buy the parts directly from them for 1/2 price. This amounts to about $20. The repair cost me about $200 every 6 months because it is a difficult installation. Whirlpool is a terrible company to deal with when you have a problem and they do not stand behind their products. Whirlpool gold series gas oven with Aqua Lift. Very unhappy with this oven. Cons: Aqua Lift technology doesnt work AT ALL (manual cleaning required); stove top hard to clean; 2 front gas burners are super burners which is fine for boiling water, but too hot for regular cooking. Would be better to have one super burner in the middle or back but two up front is way too hot for regular cooking, even on lowest setting; oven cuts out while cooking -- unexplainable how this happens but you really have to watch the oven while cooking to make sure its still on. Pros: large oven so you can cook ginormous turkeys or prime ribs.

Purchased washer and dryer in 2013. After several months I noticed small holes in my clothing. I called for service since my machines were still under warranty. There was nothing the repair service could do except make suggestions on water amount and settings. Which I tried with no improvement. I also contacted Whirlpool and was told I could call for service for several weeks since it was still under warranty. I asked why call for service when I was told it could not be fixed. I did have it serviced again and told it was a problem with the design. Numerous items of clothing were ruined which I showed the technician. He gave me a phone number to contact Whirlpool. They in turn said there was nothing they could do for me. I usually place items in laundry bags for delicate fabrics but for obvious reasons not all items fit in a bag. I have never had such terrible service nor experienced an appliance that operates so poorly. I am surprised there are not more complaints with this problem. I bought it to wash heavy loads of jeans and it takes me all day to wash 1 load because it is always out of balance. No matter what setting I put it on I have to keep rearranging the load. Without putting up with that, the load takes 87 minutes on bulky wash. That is far too long and then you add all the time I spend rearranging it to get it to work. We bought this dishwasher only 18 months ago and its not worth the money we paid. We have had cheaper models that cleaned way better and didnt need as much maintenance as this one. We already had to spend another $410.00 in having the motor replaced in it!! When calling Whirlpool it only has a 1-year warranty and to have a technician come out just to look at it is $150.00. It is so hard to see in the part where you put the jet dry it doesnt tell you when its full or empty and no matter what it always leaves the dishes wet after.
