For 3 months and 7 different repair visits for a $199 microwave purchased at HHGregg, I have been dealing with the unprofessional, rude people at LG repair. Finally after the 7th visit, the wire in the microwave started on fire. After many phone calls, the matter has now gone to the resolutions department at LG repair, and I am still waiting for approval of a replacement microwave. This could have started my house on fire. This is the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I should not have had to wait 3 months for a new microwave when it was evident this microwave was a lemon.

When we purchased our house 3 1/2 years ago we purchased a new LG French Door refrigerator. We had checked the reviews and all were good. The fridge worked great for the first 3 years or so. About 4 months ago the ice maker stopped working. We did some troubleshooting of the issue but to no avail. It was no big deal at the time, we just started using ice trays. We should have known at the time that something was very wrong. So about 4 weeks ago the refrigerator died. We lost all of our food and had no back up at the time. The day it died I called LG customer service and they set me up with a company called A&E Factory Service. After a day A&E called me and said the soonest they could get a technician to my house was 2 weeks away!I complained enough to the point where I worked it down to a week (again no refrigerator).. A week of eating out goes by and the technician shows up for my service call. He troubleshoots the refrigerator and says the compressor is toast. He says he needs to order everything in since he doesnt keep anything on his truck. He schedules another appointment with me which is 3 WEEKS AWAY. So now Im looking at four weeks without a refrigerator. So after the 3 weeks the new technician shows up and replaces everything on the fridge (compressor, coil, and two other heater items?). 3 hours later he says, Were all set. give it a day or two and itll be all set. Well 2 days later its not all set. Still broken, still not cooling at all..I called LG again and demanded they send me a new refrigerator and was told that I needed to have a service technician back to the house to see if it really needs to be replaced or if they can fix the problem. IS THAT NOT WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE DURING THE FIRST TWO CALLS!!I have now been without a refrigerator for over 4 weeks. I have taken two days off from work, one for each visit, which has cost me a lot of income, and will now have to take at least an additional day off for a third visit. I have a family of five and we are continuing to either eat quick made meals or eating out which is costing a fortune. I am completely fed up at this point. Never will I purchase another LG product. Which is very unfortunate since I already have 2 LG tvs, 2 LG soundbars and an LG microwave.

I purchased an over the counter microwave, Model LMV1680WW. This was purchased less than seven months ago. First, the light on the bottom goes out then, the microwave just stops working. Now without a sales receipt, no warranty service. I know that they can tell when the unit was manufactured from the serial number but no receipt, no warranty. Ill never purchase another product from LG, no matter what it is. Its a shame, as I was going to upgrade to stainless after the new year.

A little more than two years old, this LG microwave (LMV1680ST) stopped working. The turntable does not rotate and magnetron does not heat. Everything else operates just fine. Door latch and switch appear to be solid and functioning properly, so it must be the electronics. I guess I will have to take it apart to look at switch, relay and circuit board.

LG is great brand. Love their unique features. Great company. I know the brand and I am familiar with the brand. It is always great whether it is a tv or a microwave. I love the brand so I thought it was a much better choice. I like how the refrigerator gives ice and it is great. Love the color and the spacing in the freezer. Love the white color on the inside. And it looks great on my wall. Love how it is built to last and hope it does. But I dont like how much space is taking and there should be more light. It could be much better color. It is not too heavy and love the electrical and it is okay. Could be way better.

Just removed our kitchen last year. We brought this microwave in Aug 2017. Only lasted 14 months. One day was heating a biscuit, it started popping smell like wires were burning. Now it doesnt heat. Was told $125.00 just to come out. If it took longer than 15 minute to repair it would be another $65.00 up to $175.00. We decided that buying another brand would be better for us. We will never again buy a LG product. Our other microwave is a GE Profile and is over 7 years old and never had any problems. I wish I would have done a better job checking out LG appliances.

On Jan. 18, 2019 we purchased the above referenced microwave. It never worked when we brought it home, and Best Buy stepped up and just let us trade the non-working one for one that did work. Now, less than 3 months later, the machine stopped working overnight--lights and turntable work, but no heat or cooking is generated. Working with LG customer service warranty department is a nightmare. The customer service staff is very difficult to understand, when you are transferred to another department, there are very long wait times to connect, and instead of having it repaired locally, LG wanted me to pack it up and mail it to them. I have had LG equipment in the past and been satisfied. However, after this fiasco I will never buy another from them. All this hassle on top of not having a working microwave. My hope is that they will just pay me the purchase cost and let me get on with my life with a different brand. The customer service department and website are not user friendly at all.

We change our filters every 6 months. For days we have put microwave hot rags down the right side of the cube holder to soften the cube holder so that we are able to move the tray holder out. We had our home built 15 years ago and purchased GE appliances and decided in 2012 to upgrade to stainless steel. We purchased an LG microwave and a LG refrigerator.. Model LFX31925ST.... It was the biggest mistake we ever made. The first 6 months the microwave had to be repaired and now the refrigerator light is out in the water and ice dispenser area. In addition the ice maker no longer works. The Smart Diagnostics says the first time that we have opened the refrigerator frequently... There are no children in the house and we eat out. The second diagnostic report says we are not closing the door and air is escaping. We had the GE products and NEVER had a problem. The only issue was they were white. We are both retired law enforcement and have been asked by friends and relatives about the beautiful piece of junk in our kitchen. I have referred them to ANY brand but LG. We have an LG television and I am waiting to see what happens with it. We will get it repaired and probably put it in our rental property or donate it to the Goodwill. Your appliances ARE A PIECE OF JUNK. I am so angry because my husband wanted GE or Whirlpool... but no I chose LG. Believe me I hear about at least twice a day!!!! Extremely dissatisfied customer!

The thermistor of my 3 years and 9-month old LG LFC25770st stainless, french door, $1799 fridge overheated and died. LG no longer makes this defective part. So instead of a $150 to repair, I will need $1100 to replace. I only need to spend $1100 to replace since they are generously pro-rating my fridge at $700. Did I also mention my matching LG stainless microwave died after less than three years? All my non-LG appliances that I got at the same time are still working fine, and so is the $37 countertop microwave we have been using as a replacement for the last year. Stay away from LG products.

I like how its a touch screen. You just drag the bar with your finger. Its more effective than punching numbers. But, the microwave doesnt have a 5 seconds option so its hard to cook your food at your desired temperature. Also, its hard to keep it clean since so many girls uses it each day. I wish it was bigger so that more than one thing can be reheated since we eat a lot of leftovers or frozen meals.

I also had a LG refrigerator that only lasted 5 years. Terrible products. So I saw the Magnetron has a 10 year warranty so I called and they told me on the phone, it would cost me 125.00 right there for the service call and the technician would come out and replace the Magnetron and if it was over 30 min I would pay 35. Extra. When the guy came he looked at the microwave and said, It is the Magnetron and I ordered it but it did not come yet, and you owe me 35.00. I will be back in two weeks with the part.I am furious. I asked him what that 35.00 was for and why did he come out without the part and he said, I charge 160, so are suppose to pay me 35.00 no matter what. 1. Why did he come here without the part? 2. This is not what they told me on the phone. 3. I called them to complain and they said exactly the same thing to me and then when I asked for a manager, the CS person said, we have to review your call and you have to pay him for ordering the part, and then he said you have to pay him for extra time and then he said something else. When I pointed out all the various things he said, he said, We have to say these things. He refused to put me through to a manager. He said, We will call you tomorrow and review your call. Which is nuts since he said the exact same thing to me and the service guy said something different. Also the CS rep said, Well 70-80% of the time the service tech brings the Magnetron. So I pay extra time because I am in the 20%. Also NO ONE SAID I needed to pay another 35.00 when he came. They said, If he goes over 30 minutes. So, so wrong.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator Door-in-Door in December 2015. On September 14, 2014 I woke up to water all over my kitchen floor due to ice melted in freezer. First thing was to use troubleshooting guide. Did all resets suggested with no results. Called LG and went through all that again with them. Was told to reset and wait 24 hrs then check and call if not cooling. Needless to say this did not work. I lost a freezer and refrigerator full of food. All spoiled. Following Saturday a repairman came out and said that compressor was gone. They ordered a compressor on September 22, 2016. Today is Oct. 10, 2016 and I still have no resolution.I have made many calls both to LG and the place supposedly responsible for repair with no satisfaction. I have never encountered such poor customer service in my life. I just walked around my home and realized that I have 3 LG TVs, a Blu Ray, refrigerator, and microwave. Therefore it is obvious I have spent a lot of money on LG products. I now see that the company does not stand behind its products so I will not purchase any more of their merchandise. As I looked through the reviews I see that I am not alone. LG MUST NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CONSUMERS. So as customers we need to let them know that there is no excuse for such poor workmanship or service.

Very spacious with lots of labeled compartments make it easy to find things. Very contemporary design so it matches my kitchen decor. The freezer is located on the bottom which leaves more refrigerator room to store cold food and beverages. The water is filtered and ice can be cubes or crushed for drinks. Shelves are easy to remove and clean. The stainless steel is modern look and easy to keep clean. Overall I love the product. It matches my microwave perfectly. Designed very well. I dislike the temperature. Sometimes it gets too cold and freezes my refrigerator items and also there is an annoying sensor that beeps to let you know the door is open. It is a good and bad thing because it makes sure you remember to close the door so that food wont spoil but also its a bad thing when you are loading groceries and need the door open for a long time. I chose LG because it is a brand I trust and I know is high quality and durable to last me and get my moneys worth. I have other LG products so the purchase was inevitable and yes it has met my initial expectations.

Updated on 04/16/2020: As follow up, after I posted a complaint about my microwave, LG posted a reply on ConsumerAffairs which implied that they would look into our complaint. Wrong! We received a call today 4-16-2020 from the next level supervisor who said you received bad information from our customer service rep but we still cannot honor our warranty. This was the second LG microwave we had purchased, and the second to fail. This last one after about 4 months. One of the last LG reps we spoke to said there was no problem with our reimbursement paperwork and the warranty reimbursement check would be sent right out. Wrong again! This last supervisor told us that his company gave us bad information on how to file a claim and too bad for us that they made the mistake and now we are out the cost for another LG microwave. Just beware, if you do have issues with your appliance that is under warranty, LG may not honor their warranty even after admitting they were at fault.Original Review: We purchased a LG microwave to replace the LG microwave that stopped working after 2 years. After 4 months the new LG stopped working. It was under LG warranty so we called and submitted the warranty reimbursement form. After not hearing back for over a week, we called and they advised us that they needed the serial number from the unit cut in half. We submitted both the form and the serial number. After not hearing back again we called and they told us to submit the cut serial number tag on the actual submission form, so we did that and send it back in. After not hearing for two to three weeks we called again and we were told we also needed the manufacturer tag cut in half and submitted on the form. At that point being over two months of dealing with LG, we had already disposed of the unit. We told the rep and he advised no problem they would be sending the reimbursement check to us.After another week and a half we called in again and we were told without the cut manufacturer tag on the form we would not be reimbursed. We explained that the last rep said there was no issue with this and explained the entire situation again. We called again to be disconnected and called again to be told there would be no reimbursement without the manufacturer tag. After much discussion we asked the rep to send our request to a supervisor. She said it would be another week before a supervisor could look at our request.Bottom line buy a better brand microwave unless you want to continue to replace them and have LG give you misinformation to file a claim under warranty. Had I known their service was this poor I would have never bought any LG appliances. Had we known we needed more information off the unit we would have gladly supplied that at the time but the representatives gave us bad information. There are too many good quality products on the market to settle for horrible service and low quality from LG.

Updated on 02/14/2021: I posted a review on 12/19/20, at which time my microwave had been dead for two months. LG responded by asking me to send details by private message. I did that on 12/20/20. They did not reply, respond, or take any action. LGs second repair attempt (on this, the third time the unit has failed) broke what few remaining features (fan, light, clock) still worked. Costco has been trying for the last two weeks to get LG to replace the unit. They are getting what I got: no response, untruths, failure to call back when they promised. LG customer service is non-existent. This Friday will be three months since it broke. They do not contend that I am at fault in any way. They just wont do anything.Original Review: We bought a microwave from Costco as part of a $4000 kitchen appliance package. It has died three times in the year and a half since purchase. This third time (November 19), the part needed to repair it no longer exists. Despite that, Im getting a complete runaround from LG customer service, repeatedly being promised call-backs that never happen, 20+ minute hold times, and hours wasted on the phone. At this point, I am promised a call by December 28. Ill believe it when it happens.

This microwave caught fire while steaming vegetables. We heard a snapping sound followed by the entire inside space bursting into flames. I was able to extinguish with no damage except to the microwave. Since the unit was only 10 months old and still under warranty I called LG. Their response was immediate and a technician (tech) was at our home the next day. Upon arrival and inspection he made a few comments: (1) Why did we clean up the damages inside the unit? (2) What happened? (3) I need to call home office to talk to inside Tech.He made the call as we stood there and a Tech on the phone asked him to send a video from his phone with instructions from the Tech on the phone. Once completed he hung up and said this unit is fried and needs to be replaced but two Techs from home office had to review. Ten minutes later they called back saying it was customer error due to GREASE FIRE and they would not repair or replace. My only choice was to escalate the claim to LG management which I did. After sending them store receipt I asked for the denial and reason in writing which they absolutely refused to give me. The next day they emailed me to say they set up a Return Authorization Review and I should hear from them within 2-3 business days. It is now five business days with no response!I went to the store where I purchased the LG microwave, gave them my notes and asked for help. Once reviewed by store and they seen what LG was putting me through they said they would replace the unit. Would you buy another LG product after reading about this runaround? I would not but I certainly will purchase again from Best Buy as they stood behind a product that the manufacturer, LG in this case, would not.

Bought a microwave in Canada in November to bring south for the winter as we are Canadian snowbirds. Arrived in Yuma, Az and about 2 weeks after arrival the microwave quit working. There is a manufacturing date of July 2015 stamped right on the microwave but all my paperwork for purchase is in Canada. I phoned LG and without the paperwork they will do nothing. I tried desperately to get some paper work from Canada but was unable to get. I therefore have to go buy another microwave to get me through the winter. I can get the micro repaired when I get back to Canada in April and produce the paperwork but then Ill have 2 microwaves which doesnt make much sense. I asked the LG person that I phoned how they could not just repair it when the manufacture date is stamped right on it. NO EXCEPTIONS he said. This to me is absolutely ridiculous. DANGEROUS MICROWAVE! Not even a year old and some interior paint chipped after approx. 6 mos. of this brand new LG Microwave. It caused sparking and smelled like something was burning. It more than likely could have caught fire if I didnt catch it right away by pressing Stop on the control panel. There was exposed metal inside around the door area where the paint chipped. I didnt return it cause I lost the receipt (I have bank info cause I paid with my Debit Card). I never purchase insurance cause I have been ripped off so much with that. I cant afford to buy another microwave so I put some appliance paint on the chipped area let it dry overnight. It did work, however a few months later it chipped and again MORE SPARKING in a different area. Repeated the process with the appliance paint and again it worked. Shouldnt have to worry about this. I dont walk away when using this microwave cause its DANGEROUS!I was also unhappy with this LG Microwave due to it being LOUD, HARD TO SEE CONTROL PANEL, COOKS VERY HOT (OVERCOOKS USING THE CONTROL PANELS TIMED COOKING & TEMP eg... Potatoes, Popcorn etc. I did read reviews prior to purchasing and some of the issues can be overcome, however not the FIRE HAZARD ISSUE! I was surprised to see 4-5 star reviews. I truly believe they are filtered cause I tried to place this review on LGs site and it was not posted? Consumers need to know Buyer Beware.

Bought the microwave from Walmart in 2019, used it without issue for about a year. Last night, I put something in to warm for 1 minute. (No metals etc of course.) And no sooner had the minute started I turned away, heard a huge grinding whoosh noise, turned back to see fire coming from the right side panel. It made the sound again, another burst of flame and I shut it off. I had the unit unplugged and set outside. I contacted LG with a pic of a clear burn mark on the right panel, explained what happened and they told me too bad, nothing they can do, try returning it to store. ALSO, they further accused me of exploding something in the microwave itself. This was the suggestion of a supervisor. I am appalled and surprised at how they handle this situation. I would seriously reconsider buying anything from them. This could have ended up so much worse than $150 down the drain.

I will never buy another LG product again. This microwave needed major repairs within 18 months of my purchase. The first repair happened when it was still under warranty but I had to pay for service and when the second repair was needed, the warranty had expired. I called LG to ask for a warranty extension with the argument that a relatively new appliance should not need major repairs twice. In fact, the microwave I had replaced with the LG was over 10 years old and had never needed a repair. I replaced it because it was old looking and I was remodeling my kitchen. LG would not extend the warranty and the repair with service would cost more than replacing it. I argued that they should replace my microwave but was denied. Again, I will never buy an LG appliance again.

Wife wanted new appliances so we went to Hopeless Depot and bought LG. What a mistake. Bought a french door refrigerator. Within 2 months the ice maker went out. LG came out and installed a new ice maker and all seemed fine until the other day it went out again. Now everything is out of warranty and the ice maker went out again. I called LG and they gave me the number to 3 repair companies and they all told me the same thing. 90 days on the ice maker, no warranty. Fridge is a year and 2 months old. I have the old KitchenAid refrigerator in the garage that works like a champ. 25 years old. So to add insult to injury the turntable motor on the microwave is going out. It is the same age. 14 months old. I wont even bother calling them - Ill just let everything fail. Do not buy LG - they suck. Their stuff does not last. Get KitchenAid.

I have all LG products. Fridge ice maker went out 3 times in a year then 4th time at 18 months. So no ice maker the last year or so. Now today I lost my microwave (lmhm2237st). Just stopped working at 18 months old. LG said pay for an extended warranty for like $360 when the microwave is only like $400. This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. My GE honestly last 16 years. My LG a little over a year. What a scam. I will never buy a LG again in my life.

Our microwave is 2 years old and has a “10 year “ warranty. It has just stopped working. First it would only turn on for a few seconds. Now it turns on and does not heat. The special Smart Sensor service was only available from 8 to 4 Mon to Friday. When I reached them they basically got me to plug and unplug the microwave and to heat a cup of water. Next, I was told that I would have to transport it to a service center and pay all labor costs. They cannot tell you the hourly rate. The service rep also noted that only some parts are covered. I said no thanks and that I would write this disappointing review. I do not recommend LG microwaves as my previous ones from other brands lasted more than a decade and this one 2 years.

LG microwave quit working 1 1/2 years after purchase! I also bought a refrigerator at the same time!! Called LG support and was given a number for a repair service. Called Tarheel Appliance and Repair and was quoted $70 for someone to come out plus the cost of repairing the microwave which was going to put the cost well over $100! Tarheel Appliance suggested that I call LG back to see if they would extended the warranty since the microwave was just out of warranty. I was told that the warranty would not be extended!! Purchased several major appliances at once from Best Buy. All LG products. The microwave did not work right out the box!!! LG refused to replace it but would send a repair person out. Took a week to get an appointment. Had to take a half a day off to be home during their appointment window. Repair guy didnt show up until 10:00 pm at my house. Replaced a part and left. Next day microwave still broke! Keep in mind it hasnt worked out of the box.I called LG and once again asked them to replace it and they refused and offered to send the same useless repair service out again. If I took off another half day. I now would have lost more money than the microwave cost! Keep in mind it has never worked!!! I filed a complaint with the BBB and they answered basically that I was not getting the unit replaced. I also filed a complaint with the State attorney generals office which I have not heard back from yet. I bought an “LG Microwave Smart Inverter Magnetron” at Lowe’s, the higher priced larger microwave. After a few short months it completely stopped working while I was using it to heat up food. Only use is frozen meals, or heat food / drink about once a day. The longest period of use is 8 minutes. I contacted LG and they asked for a receipt before they would refund. I sent the receipt via email as they requested. After 6 weeks, they called and said I would need to go buy another LG and THEN they would reimburse me after I sent them a proof of purchase. The problem with that is, I don’t want another LG because of the chance of breaking and going through all of this AGAIN! Also, what if I get stuck and I am then $600 down the drains. The customer service is in Hong Kong and I had a difficult time communicating. #NEVERLG!

Ive had this LG model LMV1683SW microwave under 2 years, and Im tearing it out of my kitchen and throwing it out. First, the turntable started making this awful rumble. LG said its crumbs in the track. The track was clean, but I cleaned it anyway. Still rumbled. Then sparks and small flames started shooting out of a vent hole near one of the shelf hooks. I removed the metal shelf thinking that was the issue, but it was not. It happened again, and this time I unplugged the unit, and Im removing it from my wall. LG will get sued when someone dies from a knob being turned on accidentally. I’m surprised it hasn’t already happened. It happens all the time. Especially when friends/family are over. How could LG think was a good design? Was there no testing? Were they 3 feet tall? Also the burner disc discolor and never clean up. The super burner stains on the silver and you can’t get it clean. LG Counter Microwave 1260SW/1260SB - After three years of use, not daily, there was burning smell coming out of the side vent and a grinding sound inside. I contacted LG and they said it sounded like the magnetron. LG said it sounded like the magnetron, which was covered under a 10-year warranty and then referred a local repair shop. We took it in. They charged us $50 for a diagnostic test and $46.02 for labor for the magnetron. Two days later, we brought it home and the situation was worse than when we took it in. Back to the repair shop we went and the shop called saying it was the fan motor. Well, they wanted another $50 for labor and parts. After refusing to pay any more labor costs, they fixed it. The only parts were for a stirrer motor and stirrer support and another $26. We got it home, plugged it in, and turned it on. Inside lit up like a neon light and it started sparking. Light was so bright and sparks so bad, my husband and I thought it was going to blow up. Back to the shop it went. They put a container of water inside, no sparks or excessive lighting happened, so they deemed it fixed. I refuse to use it. We paid almost as much in repair bills as we did in purchasing it. As much as I loved the horseshoe design inside the microwave, this was just too much hassle, expensive and time consuming to repair. I had also contacted two other small appliance places to see if we were being ripped off. Both told me they refuse to work on LG small appliances. They either couldnt get the parts or it took a week or more to get them in, inconveniencing their customers. No more LG appliances for us.

Had to make appt. Replacing compressor, main PC and therm. $1,100.00. I paid $1,500.00 for fridge. Thursday after approximately 4 hours with service repairman it is finally fixed. Today the fridge is WARM Inside. ITS BROKEN ALREADY. ALL I WANTED WAS A NEW FRIDGE. ITS DAY 35 TOMORROW!!!! PEOPLE should get to see all of the review replies I have done with LG. I just wanted an in store credit....Updated on 05/02/2019: April 30 posted complaint with lack of service on my refrigerator. April 30 LG quickly responded asking for my telephone number. May 1 I responded. THEN nobody phones. This is now day 18 and no fridge. Please give me an in store credit and perhaps a FREE 4 year extended warranty to make things right. I offered a repairman’s name to you but no you didnt have a contract with him. Yet you did not have any licensed tech for a compressor.Original Review: We are now at day 14 without a fridge. LG doesnt care. Days went by before they said they didnt have e a licensed tech for compressor. More days went by before given an approval number for in store credit then, I was told Assurance Solution Insurance co would take file now. They then decide there is a repair man to diagnose it. Fridge stinks and still waiting to hear what is to be done. Totally UNACCEPTABLE. Should have been looked after within 2 to 3 days. Its a fridge not a microwave.

Put food in microwave, pressed the EZ ON BUTTON which will heat food for 30 seconds. The microwave started for about 1 second and then immediately just died. After about a minute it powered on was asking for the clock setting. It acted like it does when the power goes out. This microwave did this one time yesterday also. I entered and set the clock time and then input 1 minute time and, almost as soon as I pressed the start button, the microwave died again only this time it did not revive. It appears to be completely dead and is only about 16 months old (purchased October 2014). This is the first LG appliance I have ever owned and likely will be the last. I paid good money for this appliance and wish I hadnt thrown out the old one. It was rusted some inside but had been working for almost 20 years!! I guess that judging by the other microwave reviews, I shouldnt be surprised that my first-ever LG product wasnt any good. We purchased a new house in May, which included a new LG microwave that was purchased/installed in April when the kitchen was remodeled. Last week, the microwave just completely stopped working, and when I called LG, none of the troubleshooting solutions worked. Their response was that they needed a receipt to look at it and repair it. However, the previous owner did not have the receipt. I told them that I knew for a fact that it was purchased in April. Regardless of that, its manufactured date was May 2011, so shouldnt they be ashamed that their product only lasted 1.5 years from its manufactured date? Instead, I now have to contact the people we bought our house from and ask them to call the store they purchased the unit from and find the receipt - wasting everyones time. Products break, I get that. But its the fact that it broke within 1.5 years of its manufactured date and that customer service was awful. I will never buy an LG appliance again, and Ill pass the word along to my friends.

Worst experience I have had as a consumer - ever. I ordered an LG microwave 1/3/18 through a third-party, AJ Madison. It was delayed weeks (not LGs fault), when I finally received it and plugged it in it had a code of death - F11. It never worked, not even ONE SECOND. That was middle of March. Its now May 3, 2018. I have sent in repeated receipts, responded to their letters, requests for more information, taken pictures, cut up serial numbers, signed declarations that I did in fact buy the microwave. Gotten the third party involved and had them try on my behalf to no avail! They now want me to send them a receipt having bought a second one of these before theyll send me my money back for the January 3, 2018 purchase! Im on hold again with LG, 26 minutes into it and the customer service wants to explain the process to me - youve got to be kidding me. I purchased a whole house full of LG appliances in October of 2011 (Washer, Dryer, Dishwasher, Stove, Microwave/hood, and refrigerator). I have had many issues with the washer. The washer worked fine initially and gradually started having issues from unbalanced loads to not spinning enough and leaving the clothes soaked requiring extra spin cycles. I purchased this particular model for the load capacity. You would think it would be able to handle what it was made for. In August of 2013 LG sent out a recall for unbalanced load issue. An Authorized repair company came out and did the software update. Frankly the full of clothes and water with the lid locked from no power. They replaced the board (reluctantly) and we were operational until April of 2014 when the board blew again. Our first course of action was to call the authorized repair company back, but they would not talk to us over the phone and wanted to come out and charge us for a service call to service the machine as well as labor to replace the part, if in fact they felt they should warranty it. LG also no help at this point, the machine was out of warranty and not their problem. Since we knew what the problem was and were not fond of repair company anyway, we ordered the part ourselves online and put it in. This one lasted all the way to almost the end of September 2014, again blowing with the machine full of clothes. I have now purchased a new machine (not LG) and will be sending LG copies of all the paperwork, from original purchase all the way to current purchase. I doubt they will do anything for me, the machine is clearly a piece of junk sitting in my garage. Unfortunately, this is not the only one of their appliances I have had issues with. The microwave has had just about every part in it replaced in the span of a couple months, some of the parts multiple times. This was also a big hassle to get repaired. The LG tech fixed it the first 2 times and then it got pushed to yet another authorized repair company, for multiple visits changing out a part at a time. It would have been cheaper for them to just give me a new one. LG is now banned from my house. I will never purchase another one of their products, no matter what it is. I also recommend to everyone I know, to stay away from the Large Garbage. So far they have not stood by their products. I did not purchase an extended warranty, but I have never had issues like this with any appliance I have ever purchased and they have lasted well over 3 years. Not to mention these dealers want to charge at least 1/2 of the purchase price for these extended warranties, which is ridiculous.

I asked them about write ups online about this model number that indicated a design flaw that causes this issue. They declined to answer. If I were in Australia we would have had a two year warranty, but not in the US. They provided a list of places I could call for service but none of them provided it in our area. And lastly on our chat they did say it was a good thing I kept our 20 year old back up that still works great (not an LG). They dont even offer any type of trade in for something that is 18 months old to try to entice us to purchase another LG replacement. So I am sorry that I had to provide even one star as a rating. HH Gregg will not offer any incentive but they did hook us up with a repair center that will cost us $99 to come out as a minimum.

I bought an LG 2.0 Microwave from Home Deposit. After only 3 months it started making horrible noises each time the glass turntable rotated. I called LG customer service. I was told to submit my invoice by PDF and would receive a refund check. That info was received. Two weeks later a different LG customer service employee wanted me to sign a waiver before they could issue a check. They also wanted photos of the metal serial number even though they were verbally given to them the first time. BTW: They don’t repair microwaves, but supposedly and eventually cut you a check for another LG microwave upon proof of purchase. Of course they never explained that initially as their rules change with every contact. I told the CS rep. after the fourth call to me (forget about trying to contact them) that I use a microwave every day and can’t wait weeks or months for them to reimburse me.Besides, why would I want to buy the same LG microwave again. I got another brand of microwave the day after the defective one. This is exactly where they want you. You are skeptical of LG microwaves, you bought another brand, so basically you will never be reimbursed for their defective product. This type of deception should result in a class action lawsuit. I believe that stealing $130 is a felony. They didn’t assign any order number to this case, but I have all their correspondence and screenshots of their acceptance of my submitted receipt.

There is burn marks on the whitish pad screwed to the side.. It made a horrible noise which made me look..only a few seconds, butter did not even melt.. I called my husband to come look… I reset it and pushed start..of course it not do it to show him… this happened last week to me also… What do I do now.. We have all LG appliances, I thought the microwave would be better than this…not 2 years old yet and used sparingly… Please advise…

This frig was bought Dec. 2006 for $1349. Several years ago, upon opening frig the plastic cover over the light bulbs had melted and fallen down. Terrible smell and it had turned light bulb black. Last night noticed that butter from butter compartment was as if it had been in microwave. Melted in my hand. The light bulb left on was across from butter compartment.Just realized that there has been a problem with lights not turning off when door closed. Also several years ago one vegetable drawer broke off and had to reorder part. Now also 2nd shelf is totally falling apart. Plastic is brittle. It is only 2 people in this household and this frig has not been abused in any way. I hope there is some compensation for this as I am just really irritated. From my reading LG knew about this problem in 2005 and 2006 and continued to sell this unit.

Updated on 08/10/2019: UPDATE 08/09/2019 update: For those of you keeping score this is repair attempt number five. We still do not have a working LG refrigerator. We purchased our LG refrigerator in August of 2017 for $3000, stop working on June 22, 2019. THIS UNIT IS NOT REPAIRABLE! This company can care less that we do not have a working refrigerator! This has put so much hardship on me and my family.POSTED 08/01/2019: I purchased an expensive (getting more costly but the day) LG refrigerator in August of 2017 that stopped working June 22. After four visits from the repair company (hired by LG because it is still under warranty) to fix, we DO NOT have a working LG refrigerator. The repair person flushed the tubing for hours on two occasions, and every replaceable part is now new. But the LG refrigerator still isnt cold. And I dont qualify for the lemon law? From just yesterday afternoon I am out another $100 worth of groceries that I bought 24 hours after the repair, to-date we have lo over $500 of food from spoiling. My daughters health has started to decline from eating canned microwave food. We have been very patient (see the timeline below). Now I am contacting a lawyer to understand my rights regarding the Lemon law. Find out about compensation for the decline in my daughters health due to the circumstances that LG has put us in. Lost wages (20 hours to-date) for having to take time off from work so a maintenance specialist can spend 3-4 hours trying to fix. At this point, I am convinced that there isnt a part in the world that can be replaced to make my LG refrigerator cold and working again. On Feb.3, 2012, the microwave stopped heating. A complaint was lodged with complaint no. **. A mechanic came on the 4th night and told me some parts were burnt and will be replaced on Monday, Feb. 5, 2012, but he did not turn up. Contacting him, he said parts were not available. I have 5-year warranty. This is the first time it happened. Model no. MH4048GWADRQEIL, serial 013EMKUOO6301. Date of purchase, 26/4/11. AMC end date, 24/4/17 - 5 years. Now what should I do? Extra 5 years warranty was purchased and here I am helpless. Should anybody believe that parts are not available on such a huge company running throughout the country? Request to repair immediately. Thanks.

I purchased an LG french door refrigerator Model lfx28968st in January 2014
I purchased an LG french door refrigerator Model lfx28968st in January 2014. I paid close to $3,000 for it, so I was surprised when it stopped cooling less than a year later. I immediately called LG who referred me to a local company that does their warranty work. It turned that the company had been out of business for years and that no one in our area actually does their warranty work. When I called LG again they seemed surprised and told me that I would have to find a local company that would work with them to get my refrigerator repaired. After calling around town, I discovered that Sears was the only company who would attempt to repair my basically new refrigerator. I made the first appointment I could get (several weeks later) to have my refrigerator diagnosed because Sears would have to get parts ordered and approved through LG before any repair could be made so they could get reimbursed for their labor. In the meantime, we decided to rent a refrigerator to keep our food from spoiling as this was obviously going to be a long process. The repairman told me that it could be several things, one of which was the main computer panel. After finally getting the part in and installed, he told me to give it a few days to see if that did the trick. Several days later it was still not cooling. I had to go through the waiting process again. By the time Sears got it fixed for me, I had been without my nice refrigerator for many months and I had been paying rental on the other refrigerator. About a year and a half later, right after Thanksgiving 2016, my refrigerator once again stopped cooling. Also, my LG microwave purchased at the same time quit working. It turns out that neither one would never work again. This time we just purchased another used smaller refrigerator and called LG. They gave me the same information about the repair company that was out of business. I called Sears once again. Every time a repairman came out to my house they would tell me stories about how LG refrigerators are not any good and that they are constantly being called about repairs for them. I had not bought the extended warranty on my refrigerator, so this time I was told that I would have to pay for the labor, but LG would cover the cost of the parts until the original warranty ran out. I was told that LG would try to repair it, but that if it were deemed unrepairable that they would replace it. For almost the entire next year Sears would come out, diagnose my refrigerator, call LG who would suggest what was wrong and order parts. I would wait for the parts to come in and set another appointment for repair. During that period, Sears came out about five times to diagnose and five times to repair. They replaced the Evaporator A, Dryer, Dryer Assembly, Dryer UV (Restricted), Heater Exchange, Pipe Assembly... Finally, in November of 2017, Sears decided my refrigerator was unrepairable and gave up. They gave me back all of the labor that I had paid, minus the trip charge to come to my house. It turns out that because it had taken so long to try to repair my refrigerator that LG was not going to honor any kind of warranty. For the last year I have the nicest looking boat anchor in the middle of my kitchen floor that I dont know what to do with. Complaining to LG doesnt help. They just pass me around until I give up. Complaining to Sears doesnt help either. They just put me through to the warranty department, which does me no good anymore. I believe that LG should be banned from our country. I will never buy another of their products again.

Thirteen days after the manufacturers warranty expired, this microwave quit working mid cycle. This happened in the evening, but I was still able to get a customer service rep on the phone. They suggested that I call back during the day and ask for a manager and that since it was so close to the warranty that they would most likely pay for a repair. Not the case. In fact its the complete opposite. The morning service rep would not even send me over to a manager but insisted on telling me that small purchases dont matter to them. If it were a refrigerator or TV, they would consider it, but not a counter top microwave. So if youre looking to spend money and have a microwave break in a year’s time, this piece is for you! I will never buy anything LG again solely based on this experience with their customer service, quality of product, etc.

We bought this microwave a week ago and will be taking it back to Menards tomorrow (and will be writing a review about them if they dont give us our $ back!). It worked fine until tonight. The only complaint we had was that it didnt have a timer on it but we could deal with that. Now, however, it is junk. We had the light on below the microwave and when I turned it off, I turned the vent on to see how many settings it had. I turned it back off and noticed the light inside the microwave was now on and the turntable was going. It wouldnt stop. It was finally discovered that if we pushed stop, then energy saver, it would stop and the light would go off but nothing would make it work. Anytime we tried to put a time in the display, it would just read door and do nothing except spin and have the light on. Its off the wall and back in the box. Menards, here we come!!

Our two month old LG Microwave Oven Model LCS1112ST bit the dust yesterday and I immediately contacted LG Customer Support. After jumping through all the hoops sending them a receipt, proof of damage, etc., I was expecting my $ back since it had a one year warranty. I received an e-mail saying in order to process my claim, I had to buy another LG microwave before they would consider any refund. Completely unsatisfied with this nonsense, I called and spoke to a gentleman that passed me on to supposedly the supervisor. She said that we were to send a letter explaining why we bought a GE microwave instead of an LG microwave along with additional documentation. Why would I buy another LG product? LG does not stand behind their warranty! DO NOT buy any LG product! They simply want your $ and they do not care about customer satisfaction!!!

UPDATED ON 1/20/2021: We contacted LG about the problem that we experienced but to no avail. Even though their instruction booklet told us how to cook bacon (which we followed) the microwave caught fire. Apparently there was a problem with the unit. After going back and forth with them about this problem they finally e-mailed us a letter stating they would reimburse us the amount of money we spent for the microwave. The only thing that was required was that we purchase a new LG microwave, which we did. We had to send them copies of the purchase receipts from both microwaves and the labels off the old one, which we did in order to get the refund. We were then instructed to dispose of the old microwave. Unfortunately they did not hold up to their promise. After many calls on our part with promises of them getting back to us, with what appears no intentions of doing so. Now they are telling us that we were the cause of the problem, and will not refund our money even though they sent us the letter telling us otherwise.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Purchased a LG microwave about 5 months ago. While cooking food according to their instructions in their manual the microwave started on fire. Either the manuals instructions were wrong or the microwave malfunctioned. LG was called and a service person was sent out. We were informed by their service department that the service person they sent out would determine whether the microwave would be repaired or replaced. According to the service person we had been misinformed in that he does not make that decision, and that is left for someone else. We were told that he would turn in his report and we would be contacted. An engineer contacted us and said that the microwave did not malfunction and because there was a fire in it LG is not responsible. Why is it that we followed all the directions but yet they dont want to acknowledge that there is something wrong with the microwave? No pictures are available as damage was on the inside top of microwave.

I purchased an LG microwave for nearly $250.00 and its been replaced twice
I purchased an LG microwave for nearly $250.00 and its been replaced twice by Home Depot, making this the third unit to electrically fail with smoke coming from its internals after only a 45 second operating cycle. LG was contacted and initially stated that I would be responsible for taking the faulty unit to their authorized repair center in Chino Hills, Ca. - about 15 or 20 miles from my home - and pay for the repair.I informed them that I had taken the liberty of visiting this website and discovered that there appears to be some sort of electrical defect in their microwave considering the number of failures, the description of the failures and the short period of time between its purchase and the apparent electrical collapse of their product. In my experience, an item with a record this poor should be on some sort of safety recall list before it causes an injury or fire, but Ive not been advised of any such recall by either of the two customer service personnel I contacted during the course of our conversations on August 21, 2015.After being placed on hold for an eternity, and refusing to be blown off with what I can only describe as double speak, I informed the initial customer service person and the subsequent one that here in California there are regulations in place to protect consumers against abuses by big corporations with a bait and switch approach to consumer sales. According to this customer service contact, LG boasts their Magnetron has a 10 year warranty but to capitalize on this claim, the consumer must first pay for the labor involved which usually is a large portion of the initial cost of the unit!I have opened a claim or case # of ** with the assisting personnel who now report that there will be either a refund/credit or replacement within 6-8 weeks but they could not elaborate on which. In the interim, Im left without a microwave for the duration. If LG does the right thing, Ill report it, if not Ill provide that information as well.
