WE bought LG washer and dryer after building our new home. First time I buy LG and last time. Not only did it smell which I could deal with it by leaving the door open. In December of 2014 it started shaking so bad when spinning. The repair man came and charged me $120.00. The shaking continued and when I called him back he said we had to replace the whole tub, springs___the guts of the machine. Really! For $780 plus dollars. He said after a few years the springs go from round to oval shape and it is a kit, thus the price to replace the whole thing. I said no thank you. I will use it until I cannot stand the shaking and will buy a different brand. This time a top loader. The last one I had last me 17 years and it was a different brand. So I am going back to that brand. After doing some research, I told the repair man I would post this review to tell other women to beware.

Do yourself a favor and stay far away from LG products. I purchased an LG Dryer and have had nothing but problems with the lint catcher/ filter ruining my clothes. The lint catcher does not sit flush and it will shred clothing when clothing gets caught on it during the drying cycle. As the dryer spins, the clothing catches on the filter and continues to twist creating a clothing tornado that tears and shreds clothing with the continuous spinning of the dryer.I have contacted LG on this and despite having a warranty and in addition, an extended warranty, LG states that they dont cover this issue and that I have to pay out of my own pocket for their design defects??? LG also told me that this was the first they heard of such a problem with their dryers and that I was the first person to contact them?? This is clearly a design defect that LG IS Aware of and has been for years - yet they do nothing and do not fix the problem or stand by their customer by their replacing the defective part. This is planned obsolescence. LG is making billions of of customers like us yet they do not stand by their customers or deal with known product defects. Do yourself a favor and purchase another brand of dryer. I know I will be NOT be a repeat customer.

LG Compressor complaint bought 3 years ago (brand new). 05/15/2017 - When I started filing a claim thru LG protection plan. I spoke to a male representative and mentioned that he will send someone to check the fridge. We briefly explained to him whats going on. That the fridge is not cooling and since my husband is a technician himself, he knows whats going on to the fridge. My husband mentioned that the compressor is not working. The rep sent us a part for relay which when the (First attempt) technician came over to fix it. He said that they sent the wrong parts. He said and will report to LG that it was the compressor that is broken. We waited for the parts to be ordered. I called several times to follow up (month of May/June). The reps were telling me that the compressor is on its way and they have set up an appointment with the technician but the parts still hasnt arrive to the house. I even asked the representative if the technician will have the actual compressor because we havent received it. She said if we didnt have it then the technician would probably have it. When the same technician arrived to the house (Second attempt), he doesnt have the parts and we dont have it as well. He ended up leaving without fixing it and recommended to call LG again. I called and when I spoke to another representative, they said that it was on back order. How come they didnt explained it in the first place and sending the technician just to waste our time? I complaint to them and ended up talking to a supervisor who gave me a mini fridge that we picked up at a local Home Depot for the inconvenience because I told them that Im pregnant and taking insulin which I appreciate them for accommodating me.When I called and spoke to the technician. He mentioned that when its 40 days and still cant find the parts that probably we will be reimbursed. I called on the 40th day. That is June 26th. That same day the compressor came in the morning and my mother received it. However I was not home at the time so I asked him if he will schedule the service. The representative I spoke to said that he cant schedule it for some reason in his system and told me to call an 800-243-0000 number to schedule the service. When I called this number, they couldnt locate my claim nor cant find me on the file. The person I spoke to said that I have to call LG back to get this situated. Then they schedule me with Precision services who message since 06/28/2017 and said that they will schedule the service and we will get a call. Several text reminders received until on 06/29/2017 a text message came and said they are ready to schedule the service. Still theres no live person that I can talk to when they are coming. On 06/30/17; they message me again and wants me to explain briefly what the situation is. Instead of texting them I called them instead and was able to talk to someone who scheduled the service on 7/7/2017.Finally the tech came in the morning and my husband called me at work and said that the technician didnt fix it and just troubleshoot the problem about the compressor. He even said that why sent him there when they know that they have to send a LG manufacturing license technician who can fix the compressor. I got so furious and upset. I called them on 7/7/2017 and spoke to the supervisor, Angel who promised that someone within 4 hours will call me and schedule the service but no one called. I called this Morning and spoke to another supervisor named Chase who stated that theres a service provider that can do it and its near our location and will request it however, considering its the weekend that they might be closed. He said that I have to wait 1 business day. I told him I was told if they couldnt locate anyone to fix our fridge to just reimburse us. We have been waiting for so long. Its going to be almost 2 months without a fridge. Several calls has made and they didnt even call us back for the status. I have to constantly call them what happened to the back order parts, when finally we receive the parts, asking them when the technician will fix it. Now, they couldnt locate a license technician who can fix our LG fridge and still I have to wait. Theyre explaining that it has to be license LG manufacturing which I totally understand. If they know the problem, they should have located a technician long time back. I have this on file, the other technician informed them the problem since beginning of June. We are now in July and still no resolution. I will wait again on Monday for a phone call which is not for sure if they will find a technician and still by then he is still not sure what will be the resolution to the problem. They keep on promising and misleading the customer. What kind of LG protection is this, this should have been handled smoothly. When you have protection services, they should have a good contact technician that is license to fix with this kind of problem and not let the customer have false hope, give reason to wait and still be disappointed. Sorry doesnt cut the chase and were still inconvenience with this problem. Im pregnant and stressing me so much. I dont know what else I can do to resolve my issue and Im writing a complaint and hoping that someone from LG Company resolve this issue as soon as possible. I saw LG compressor complaints online and has 1840 which I dont know if they resolve it. They should at least pay attention to this issues.

I bought an LG door in a door refrigerator February 2015. Within a few months the compressor broke. I called LG and they refused to fix it. After numerous calls and getting the credit card company involved, who rescinded my payment, they replaced the compressor. One month later, the compressor broke again. Mind you this is happening in the middle of summer. First they couldnt get the part then they couldnt get a technician. After a couple of months and $500.00 worth of lost food (which was never paid for), they replaced the compressor. Now, suddenly, the ice maker is not working. They are refusing to pay for it and it will cost me $371.00 to replace. I called LG Customer Service and there were lies galore... Like, We will check on this and call you in an hour, we will call you at the end of business, we will call you in 48 hours... All not true. This refrigerator is poor quality at a high price. It should have been removed and replaced with the first compressor breakdown. Additionally, I also bought an LG Washing Machine. All worked well until the washboard bolts that hold this piece at the bottom of the machine gave way and during a very fast spin, spun out of control, hit the washer cover, which opened and out flew the piece. They did fix this after a lot of screaming and yelling. I would not trust their products. There are many others on the market that are manufactured with quality in mind.

I purchased a LG refrigerator 2 months ago and it already stopped working. Ice maker is not working, inside is at room temperature, all my food got wasted and when contacted LG support, the rep was soo rude and asked me to go to Best Buy (because I bought it from Best Buy) Even though its in warranty, nothing was done after being on the phone for hours until one rep said there will be a tech after 9 days. So I got a brand new fridge not working, wasted about $2800 on this fridge. LRFXS2503D. Tried emailing LG too, I wanted a replacement at this point because nothing is working in it as of now and I dont want repair on a brand new product.

I purchased Stove LRG30357ST and called about a problem with what seems to be stainless steel knob controls that melted off. Turns out, the knobs are plastic with some type of foil around them. They want 70 dollars each to replace and there are five knobs. We will buy a new stove before we pay 350 to replace knobs with cheaper knobs.Second problem has happened three times in the past two years and 11 months. Somehow, the knob gets turned in the on position either by accidentally knocking it or maybe the knob fully turning the burner into a safe position. We were thinking maybe our body was hitting it when using the above microwave or simply not turning off all the way. Normally, they make a clicking sound when its calling for gas and not lighting. We shook it off as a freak accident the first time. The second time really got our attention and we gave the kids a lesson on what was going on. The third time, we both were working and the kids microwaved some popcorn and must have bumped one of the burners. We have no idea how they could not have smelt the gas odor but it was so scary that we made another call to LG. We hope to here back since we have no choice but to get a safer stove.

I brought a LG refrigerator in 2018. It stopped cooling after 8 months. It took LG 5 months and 4 attempts to repair before they decide it could not be repaired. So they replace it with another new refrigerator in Dec, 2020. Now here we are 13 months later Feb. 13 2021. The replacement stop cooling. They schedule an appt for Feb. 23, 10 days out and they are going to have to try at least 3 times to repair it before they can replace it. DONT BUY LG REFRIGERATORS. THEY ARE JUNK. LG need to stop working on the technology and work on the quality of their products. What the need of a smart refrigerator that dont know how to keep cooling which is the main object of a refrigerator.

I have purchased an LG washer dryer model FH4U1JBH2N for £839.00, and I have received the appliance with a manufacturer defect. The washer dryer does not have the right control panel (no Drying option available on screen). No other option was offered apart from keeping the washer dryer and sending a technician to fix the defect. Imagine you purchase a cabrio car after checking the photos, the store and reviews. But you receive a regular family car... the manufacturer states that they can only come to you and cut the car open to transform it into a cabrio. In other word, you purchase a new machine, and it comes with a defect, and the manufacturer are not dependable for not meeting the specifications. What sort of company is LG? Would you like to do business with a company that does not care of the consumer/customer? Feels like, that what they see are just numbers... making profit out of people who trust a brand. DO NOT PURCHASE AN LG PRODUCT unless you want to face poor customer care, poor after sales care, poor manners over the phone, poor quality of the product and most importantly 0 dependability. I had the washer-fake-dryer since the end of August 2016 and its useless as it does not do the job I purchased it for. The retailer does not want to recollect the product as they state it is LG which has to approve the recollection. LG states it is not their issue.

I purchased an LG French Door refrigerator with model # LFX28978 last May 2011. The freezer has had constant problems with frost, not closing properly, seal defect, etc. I have had numerous calls with LG. The last one, the lady who answered said and I quote You have to remove the second drawer, open the door twice every 27 times you open the freezer door, pull up and down on the door and to align the track and slam close twice. This is the most stupid thing I have ever heard in my life. This isnt going to work, there is some kind of design defect and LG should replace it.

Our less than a year old LG Refrigerator LG LFX25974ST we bought from Best Buy (along with an LG double oven and LG dishwasher...) was a beauty when we looked at it in the store. It fit well with our theme, loved the stainless steel, specs, etc. Less than a year now, we opened the freezer to find all of our frozen food warm/melted and fridge warm. Some food spoiled, some we saved by running to the local gas station for ice.Called LG Appliance support, they said there was nothing they could do but send a technician. This happened on a Friday morning that we discovered the problem. Earliest a technician could come out is on Monday. Ugh, but okay, (by the way, ice isnt cheap) well live until Monday out of coolers, though completely not ideal and we had to go out of town Saturday, so we hoped to God the food would stay cool over the weekend if we packed it good enough. It survived, mostly. A lot of things we just threw out because we couldnt tell how long it had been warm for and didnt want to get sick.So Monday arrives, and the local company they sent out does not have the capability to fix/replace the Linear Compressor that is shot. (Our 1 yr warranty expires in 30 days, but luckily the compressor has a 10 yr warranty, some relief.) Our fear now is what if something else goes wrong on the fridge or the other two appliances we spent over $4k on at Best Buy! Thats a lot of money! We would have been better off buying a $500 refrigerator with a classic design and compressor that would last 20 years without issues. They sure saw us coming. So now, LG Appliances calls me back to say what the local tech already said-- they couldnt fix it so they need to find someone else that may or may not be able to do the work. The earliest is Thursday -- that will be 7 days without a refrigerator I paid an awful lot of money for and food wasted. They of course dont pay for any lost food, youre on your own there, but thats easily another $150-$200 worth.Though I bought the set from Best Buy - I dont blame them because its not their warranty, its LG Appliances -- who never offered an apology - not once - on any of the calls to them. I was cordial with them, thinking they would show a little more empathy for their customer -- they were not sincere or showed any signs they cared about their customer. I am so disappointed in this purchase it isnt even funny and I will never buy ANYthing LG again -- not appliances, not electronics, NADA! They should be ashamed of themselves for selling expensive JUNK.

I like the ice machine and able to adjust the temperature to your liking, also how it is long-lasting and always keeps things cold. Also you never have to worry about food going bad because it keeps everything super cold. What would improve the refrigerator if it came in more colors and a wider variety of ice textures to fit everybodys personal needs and also wish it had a ice cream maker to make ice cream or ice pops or another cool thing would be a coffee maker button to make coffee of any kind you want. It has been my expectations, a 10 out of 10 and it was on sale and most importantly it was recommended to me by my friends. I have no regrets purchasing this item. I love it and I will have it for many many more years to come.

Brand new LG washer & dryer arrived in less than perfect operating condition. LG could not care less. This is a really arrogant uncaring horrible outfit to deal with. They tell you their rules as they go along. You are treated like dirt and end up spending good money to be bullied by this dysfunctional bloviating giant. DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS unless you want to buy headaches. Cannot get service from them. It is almost 2 months since we got these malfunctioning machines and the service outfit has been here once and accomplished zilch. Getting them back is an exercise in futility. LG IS AN OUTFIT TO AVOID. Home Depot, where we purchased this junk should also be avoided. No one home to help a dissatisfied customer no matter how right one may be. Im sure Ill end up in small claims court.

In October 2014 we purchased a very nice Stainless LG Dishwasher - Model: LDF7774ST. The first week we had it the motor went out. LG replaced the dishwasher. Back in January of 2015, the so called quiet Dishwasher started making a lot of noises and had to have the dishwasher serviced. Now, the LG dishwasher will not drain. We have cleaned out the filter and the drain and nothing works and now have to have it serviced yet again. Three times in six months on an $800 dishwasher? Will never purchase an LG dishwasher again.

The freezer compartment of the LG fridge (model #LRFXS2503S) we purchased in April of 2021 was not working properly. It was not making ice or keeping food frozen. The company contracted to repair the fridge came, and repaired it. The next day the entire unit quit working - no fridge - no freezer. I fought with the repair company, and they came out again the next day and repaired it again. Same thing - no fridge - no freezer. Unbelievable. The repair person told me he did not think it could be repaired - this was two weeks ago. I called LG, and they want the repair person to try to repair it AGAIN. LG also told me it was not their responsibility to replace the fridge - just repair it. Unbelievable - going on three weeks with no fridge over Christmas. AVOID buying any LG fridge. I bought model LFXS30726 for 2700 dollars 12 months and 2 weeks ago. Originally I was happy with it. It quit working last week. LG customer service said it was out of warranty and suggested a repair service not located anywhere in my state. I called a reputable local repair person who stated all their refrigerators are causing terrible repair needs and that the company will not assist them because they are not authorized repair service. As I said, there are NO authorized repair services in my state. I had to pay 300 dollars on my new expensive fridge and untold inconveniences only to call him back the next day because it stopped working again. Needed to replace the fan and then the computer board. This is such a piece of junk! Customer service is horrible. Their English needs much to be desired. My unit was slow to make ice and was not dumping so they had me put my phone to the sensor. She told me I needed to change it from crushed to cubed? Say... What? Anyway found it is a early sign of compressor failure. Their first question was Why didnt you get the extended warranty. I guess they have no faith in their product, normally I have no use for those warranties. It seems like, in my case, products are programmed to self-destruct after the warranty expires. I heard some stories but when I purchased it I was told this has a different compressor it and it is not prone to failure. Home Depot lied! The fridge was 18 months old and within 2 weeks of the new compressor I lost refrigerant and I had to call service, they came out right away and repaired it.Now a week later everything was soft in the freezer again, but they cannot come out until Tuesday. It is 40 degrees in my garage, not cold enough to use as a refrigerator. I lost about 300 dollars in food since Thanksgiving. My old fridge lasted 16 years before it died, and I think it was my fault because I put it in the garage, found out later that not every fridge can be put in a cold area. So what happened to quality control in the day and age? If I was on the board of LG I could not look myself in the mirror putting out a product with this kind of problems.

I love my LG washer. It’s self-adjustment for water levels based on load is a water saver. However, the ability to increase the water level manually if wanting a greater rinse still gives me control over my laundry. With its many available washing options, one doesn’t have to “think” each time a load Is added; if I’m washing towels, I just choose the “Towel” option and the machine does the rest. My spin cycle is extremely effective, making the drying time a minimal. Last, the size of the tub is large enough for a thin blanket. This is nice when needing to wash stored bed coverings prior to winter use. The only con I might have is getting the message “uneven load” and of acing to stop the machine and adjust the wet items. This usually happens if I have a mix load of unlike weights.

We purchased an LG French door stainless refrigerator in September of 2016
We purchased an LG French door stainless refrigerator in September of 2016 (did not take delivery until mid October). On September 19, 2018 we woke up to a defrosting freezer and non-functioning refrigerator, in under two full years of use. LG customer service told me the part is covered under the sealed system warranty, but labor is not. They offered to cover labor “as a courtesy,” but they did not have a technician available. They gave me the phone number of an authorized repair center and an “APN” number, but when I called I was told they are not currently taking repairs for LG because they have a 3 WEEK backlog.I called LG back and they gave me the only 3 other authorized repair centers in the state of Colorado. Two don’t actually work on refrigerators and the third offered to come out in a week. Took the appointment but called LG back and was told I could call try to find someone to fix it sooner, but they would only cover labor through their providers. When I told them I can’t afford refrigerator repair on a product I bought in good faith that has failed in under two years, I was told “that’s not on LG.”I kept the appointment, sat home all day yesterday (9/25/18) waiting for my 1-3PM repair window, expecting a working fridge by dinner time. At 3:30 the provider arrived, looked at the fridge, said “yep, your compressor is shot. It’ll take 3 days to get the part, then we’ll get you on the schedule for repair. Just understand we’re very busy and seeing a ton of these, so we’re trying to get at least one repaired daily.” So I have no idea how long it’s going to take. My family of 7 is living out of a dorm sized (Whirlpool) fridge. I’m going to the store up to 3 times a day to get food I can make immediately and a half gallon of milk at a time for my 5 kids. We bought an entire kitchen suite of LG appliances at the same time and are now terrified they’re all going to fail and it won’t be “on LG.” As I’m sharing with friends, at least 3 have had the same issue, one within the month and her fridge was newer than mine.

Bought an LG, top-load washer, 3 years ago, model # WT1101CW. There are only 3 of us in the household so the washer was used lightly. Last night it decided to commit suicide. The washer plate and the drive shaft assembly broke into pieces while washing a single shirt. I later found out, this was only half of my problem. The following day I spent 3 hours ping-ponging back and forth with LG customer service (which is in the Philippines... ie, broken English) and Encompass, their third-party parts department. Neither can answer any technical questions and will only ask for a part number.I finally received a phone number for technical questions, but upon calling had to provide a service ID number, which I dont have because I am not a certified technician. Now LG is telling me not to fix it myself, but to call a service technician. I called and they said they would send someone out within 7 days and they would look at it and order parts and that would take another 7-10 days. Once the parts arrive they will send a service technician out to fix it. So, I can use a laundromat for the next 2 to 3 weeks, and then pay a hefty repair bill, or I can just go buy another washing machine from a reputable company that actually provides customer service, and in English. Never again LG! Only 3 years and this LG washer will now be in a landfill. If everybody knew how poorly built these machines are and the non-existent customer that LG provides, LG would be out of business. I can only hope at this point.

We purchased our refrigerator a little over three years ago. The compressor just went. We lost everything in both the fridge and the freezer. All the ice in the ice maker melted and leaked all over the floor. I called the LG number found the manual. I was on hold for over 30 minutes. The refrigerator “specialist” asked me find the model number and serial number. The place he told me to look was incorrect. He became impatient with me and told me he could only give me three minutes. Three minutes... I found the information (not where he told me to look) and he then gave me the names and numbers of two local appliance repair businesses. When I called one of the numbers I was asked for a PIN # from LG. Apparently the “specialist” was supposed to have given me one because the fridge parts are still under warranty. Now I had to find the receipt for when we purchased the refrigerator. This all happened two days before we were leaving for vacation. So obviously the refrigerator won’t be fixed until after we get back. I’m extremely disappointed with this LG product. I can’t imagine ever buying another LG product. I will certainly be warning friends and family.

Purchases an LG Refrigerator in June 2020. Refrigerator started making loud knocking noise. Reached out to Customer Service and they said they can come out on January 4th. Next day I wake up to an error code on the refrigerator and run a diagnosis through their app and tells me the fan motor needs attention, so I call back to see if I can get an earlier appointment. I am told they can cancel the first appointment and get me another appointment set up. So they do and now they are telling me they cant come out until January 5th. Service representative supervisor has zero cares and wouldnt even give me his name and cant understand him at all during the call. I asked to speak to another supervisor that I can understand and refused to transfer me. Then proceeded to ask to speak to his supervisor and he says he can have one call me back but cant promise if I will get a call back. Horrible customer service on their part and I am now hoping my fridge does not go out before they come out.

I bought a LG refrigerator 5 years ago, which stop cooling due to leak in sealed system. Warranty 7 years. They refused to repair or replace and offered 40% of initial amount paid and it took them 4 weeks to resolve this. So be prepared to spend a few thousand dollars again within 5 years. I bought an LG large capacity washer and dryer 6 years ago. I paid over $1600 for the pair at Home Depot. There are only 3 in my family so I dont have a lot of laundry like some larger families do. Just recently, my washer had a smell like something was on fire and making a banging noise. I called the LG repair service and a rep came out to take a look. He told me that the bearings were wearing out on the tub and to fix it, they would have to change the whole tub for about $450. Seriously! They just dont make products like they used to. I will never buy an LG product again.

Model number LFC23760ST. My wife and I purchased this refrigerator with French doors and bottom freezer at Best Buy at the recommendation of the sales person. It seemed to be a good refrigerator until we used the ice maker. The ice maker is designed very poorly. As the ice cubes begin to build up in the container the ice begins to fall out of the back and underneath the freezer drawer and causes the drawer to get stuck. This happens on a constant basis whenever the container gets close to being two thirds full. Another downfall of the refrigerator is the crisper shelf and Im sure that all the other glass shelves have similar problems. From what I am able to determine the shelves are made of tempered glass. This is the first time I have taken the shelf out to clean. I did not take the other shelves out to clean, just the crisper shelf as Ive always cleaned them in place. I first left the glass shelf sit for about 15 minutes while I cleaned out the inside of the refrigerator and other parts. I then began to wash the glass shelf with lukewarm soapy water, and then I rinsed it off and let it stand for about seven minutes. There was still some water on the glass so I decided to wipe it with a clean cotton hand tower. While drying the shelf the action from slowly and softly wiping the shelf of remaining water it made squeaking sound when a glass window is being wiped clean. Then all of the sudden the glass shelf exploded on the third or fourth squeak. I mean, the glass shelf literally exploded and shattered. It did not shatter in place as a person would assume. I had glass all over the sink, counter top, all the way onto the top of the range, onto the window sill and all over the floor in all directions with the glass shards being about five feet away. I even had shards hit me on my body, arms and face, but luckily none got in my eyes. As a handy man who cleans many apartment units and replaced appliances, Ive cleaned over a hundred of refrigerator glass shelves and never once had this ever happened. Guess I should have taken pictures and send it to LG. Now I have to replace it and its over $50 but Im going to call LG and see what they have to say. If you have ever seen an opera singer singing and breaking a glass, this was similar except on a larger scale.

We have the French door fridge from Sears but unfortunately its an LG which we have had for 2 1/2 years. At 6 mos old it leaked all over my brand new cupboards, they came and fixed it saying it was a part missing but sent it out anyway. Now the compressor is gone but have said there isnt a warranty because Sears didnt buy an extended warranty. How am I supposed to know that because Sears is closed. I explained that the fridge is only 2 1/2 years old and they just repeat the same thing over and over. It is a terrible product and the customer service is terrible. I lost a lot of food but again, they dont care. I will tell everyone I know to stay away from any LG product.

After 20 months my LG fridge with an inverter linear compressor failed. LG customer service is terrible, as I have to wait 7 days for a tech to look at the fridge to determine the failure.... it’s the compressor... No cooling in both freezer and fridge compartments, all fans are running. I’m one of many unsatisfied customers! Had I known the reliability of the inverter compressor was this low I would have purchased the fridge! I hope there are some lawyers out there with similar failure of their fridge and consider a class action law suit against LG Electronics. The inverter compress design is faulty and all customers should be given the choice of having it fixed (only to fail again in 18 months) or a total refund of our purchase. STAY AWAY FROM LG INVERTER COMPRESSORS OR LG!

I called customer service at LG. A woman helped me with the issue. She repeated what I told her in her own words. There were no problems understanding each other. She told me a technician would be calling me to set up an appointment. About one hour later a man from some company called me and wanted to know what the problem is. The young woman had told me she would explain to the technician. Anyway I explained it all again. He said This is the problem and started to repeat what I said EXCEPT he wasnt saying what I had the said. I tried three more times to explain the problem. He got angry (actually he wasnt happy when he called), he got me upset as I tried four times to explain the problem. I suggested we make an appointment… he said NO. I dont come out until I understand the problem. He said I will look at the manual and call you back. He did that… Lo and behold he STILL DID NOT UNDERSTAND. I then called LG back. The man (sounded like he was in India) said You have an appointment on the 8th of May. I told I knew nothing about an appointment. He said May I call the person that called you. I said Fine. Have not heard back. A few days ago my older son was at my house. He said Mom, be careful. I was turning on one of the front burners. He must have noticed the large flame. I never told either of my sons about the fact that my clothes have been singed when turning on the front burners. Just let something happen in my kitchen because of the stove and you know who will be sued big time...

Like the other review, if you set your oven to bake at 350, and watch a professional thermometer inside the oven, you will see the oven climb to around 475 and stay there for a few minutes while the panel says the temp inside oven is only 345. If you then set the oven down to bake at 345 in hopes of still being able to cook something before your house burns down, the oven will inform you that it is actually only 340 degrees in the oven, and continue blazing away until it is satisfied. It will eventually beep to let you know it is ready. At that point, ensuring there is no flammable material within 10 ft, you will need to open the door and leave it open for about a minute to let it cool down. Once the oven has cooled down, you are now ready to cook, and the oven works flawlessly. I agree that the gas knobs are easily turned on when you brush against it, but thats just the way it is and I can live with it. Gas burners work flawlessly and I love cooking on it. Just wish I knew how to turn off the incinerator preheat setting.

Failed compressor on a 4 year old Kenmore Elite French door refrigerator. It was manufactured by LG and sold by Sears Canada. Of course I purchased the extended warranty which is now null and void after having been underwritten by now defunct Sears Canada. LG Canada basically told me to go ** myself. I am Horrified that I spent 4000$ on an LG refrigerator and LG won’t step up to make this right given the known issue of compressor failure. The repair bill is estimated to be 1000$, which I cannot afford. I’ve had to purchase an inexpensive used fridge and move a basically lightly used top of the line refrigerator to storage in hopes that LG may step up and do what is right. It is untenable that consumers are being exploited in this way and treated with such a lack of care or concern. I am thoroughly disappointed and will be pursuing every avenue to see my money returned. So far, LG has proven they are driven by profit - they are knowingly selling defective appliances to consumers. I recommend that folks avoid LG manufactured products and spend their money on appliances that are manufactured by reputable companies that will stand behind their product. Compressors should last 10-20 years. 4 years??! They are defective and LG needs to own their mistakes.

LG 5070CW washer - wash cycle temps are way low compared to info LG provided - Cold is suppose to be 66 degrees, ours runs 50 - Hot is suppose to be 120 degrees, ours runs 75. Called LG and they said it was because it was a top fill washer, and that I needed to use some of the specialized cycles to get hotter temps - basically makes half of the cycle choices not usable. The manual doesnt mention anything about this issue. LG supervisor said they are looking into some typos in the manual to help with this issue. I spent $800+ on this washer and feel that we were duped. LG doesnt seem to care at all about the errors in their manual.

My wife and I purchased our LG refrigerator in Dec 2018, and it ran great for 90 Days. In March 2019 I had noticed that the freezer had started to warm up and ice started to melt. I called Lowe’s and they had told me that since it was still under manufacturer warranty, that I had to deal with LG. So first off I called and set up a service call. Their service window is from 8:00 am to Noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm... Ugh... so my wife took the first day off, and the service tech did not show up until 2:30pm, whole day of wages lost. The techy comes in my house and proceeds to tell my wife that I need to remove a set of cabinets or cut vent holes in the one above the fridge, because according to him the fridge gets too hot and causes the compressor to fail. Crazy huh, so according to the owner’s manual, it states 1 on each side, 2 top and 3-4 on the back for proper ventilation, which I have. I designed my kitchen with this fridge in mind, so anyway I get home from work and the service guy is informing me that he does not have the right tools to diagnose my fridge. He said I need to set up another service call and he would get the right tools ordered, and he left. I have to say I was not happy about it. I argued with Lowe’s for the next 2 weeks trying to get a replacement, and Lowe’s could not do anything because of the warranty, so I call LG again and they will not replace it without a proper diagnosis. So it took another 2 weeks and multiple phone calls not only to Lowe’s but to LG as well to get this fridge diagnosed, come to find out the compressor went out after 90 days, didnt cost me anything but 2 day’s worth of wages and 400 dollar’s worth of food.

It has multiple times turned the gas on with no flame. The knob must have been bumped. The last time the gas had run so long that we had to open windows and doors for hours in the winter to get rid of the smell. Im afraid that my family is going to die from carbon monoxide poisoning! How can this not be recalled by the government must less LG themselves. Are they waiting for someone to die in a fire or from poisoning??? I just finished sorting socks and underwear that I washed today. Once again
I just finished sorting socks and underwear that I washed today. Once again I am so angry that I purchased a LG top load washer. It has been a disappointment since the beginning. Today I found a pair of underwear that were ripped and tore and a sock that too was ripped and tore. Both had marks of rust on them also. This along with the fact that in order to get whites clean and jeans and work clothes I have to set the washer on SOAK, and push the button twice for extra rinse and a load of clothes usually takes anywhere from 2hrs - 2hr:20min. In the past I had taken jeans out of the washer after a normal wash cycle to hang on the line and there was still dry dirt in the creases. The main reason for purchasing this machine was because of its large capacity. Well that did me no good at all.I had a tech come out to check the machine after complaining to the manufacturer, and he quizzed me on the type of laundry detergent etc etc to find out I was doing everything right. I also was told to weigh my loads and not to wash more than 10-13 pounds at a time, Oh my goodness. Yet that did not help either. I do not recommend this machine. Worst washing machine I ever Owned!!!

LG Washing machine model #wm4270hwa. Purchased this unit from Best Buy on 2-19-15. Ran flawlessly for 8 months, then it started to sound like a jet engine. Called LG on 1-5-16 and after transmitting tones to a tech over the phone he informed me that I needed to run the tub clean cycle. Ran the tub clean and no help. Called back and was informed that the unit was out of warranty. Spoke to two separate supervisors to no avail. LG will not help, Best Buy will not help. I called a local appliance repair, $180.00 to walk in. Repairman took a look and told me it was a catastrophic failure. Bearings, tub, stator, tub seals etc. were bad. So here I am, stuck with a thousand dollar washing machine that will cost as much if not more than I paid to repair. Will never buy anything from LG, also, I will tell my story to everyone! I purchased a WT5070CW a year ago. This has to be the worst washing machine I have EVER owned. Every load gets off balance. When it gets unbalanced the machine stops. When you adjust the clothes and restart it will get off balance again. It has taken me a full day to wash one load of clothes. Today it took three hours to do one load. If you have a small load (a couple of towels) it takes six or seven tries to get the load done. I dont think it is possible to keep this machine balanced. I paid a lot more for this machine than I planned on spending and am VERY disappointed. I have found several other complaints about the same machine and the same problem. I think this model should be recalled.

I purchased an LG French-door refrigerator in November, 2010, from Home Depot for $1198. Earlier this week I came home to puddles of water in my kitchen as the refrigerator compressor died resulting in my losing about a couple hundred dollars-worth of food. I called LG customer service, gave my model number and was told by their representative that the compressor was under warranty and I would only have to pay for labor. I was then provided with the numbers of two LG approved repair services. I had one service come out today and charge me $95 to confirm it is the compressor that no longer works, and let me know that labor cost to repair would be $650. That is pretty high so I called LG customer service again because my friend had the same thing happen to her LG refrigerator 3 weeks ago (what a coincidence) and it cost her $250 in labor, a big difference from $450. Turns out LG can send out one of their repair technicians who can do the repair for a total of $375. I do not know why this wasnt offered from the beginning and why I was directed to an independent repair service that costs almost double, but that is a sub-issue. What was truly upsetting was that it was at this time that the customer service representative told me that my refrigerator is actually not under warranty and that I would have to pay for parts and labor. If I had been told this from the beginning then I would have not have had the repair person come out and waste $95. I would have just gone directly to buying a new refrigerator, which is what I am left to do now because the cost of labor and parts will be near $1,000. So in sum, I spent nearly $1,200 on an LG refrigerator to last me less than 8 years and, to add insult to injury, I then spent an additional $95 for a repair call on the bad information provided by the LG customer service center. I asked LG if they would reimburse me for this and they refused. What makes the whole situation even worse is that I see that there was a class action lawsuit over the LG compressor failures, so this is a known issue to LG. Obviously LG is not standing behind its products and its customer service is sub-par. I will not be purchasing LG items ever again and this includes not only appliances but also mobile devices, televisions, audio and computers. I wanted to share this by sharing this experience so others can avoid similar losses.

Unfortunately, I am only 2 months late and both Costco and LG washed their hands from any manufacturing defect. The water filter that needs to be changed every 6-month does not work anymore even with LG brand filters LT1000 or LT1000P/PC/PCS (ADQ747935). I bought a new LG filter head (AKN729490003) and even it does not work. Calling Costco and LG has no help because only 2 months more than 2-year warranty. I tried a professional appliance for help, even they could not help. I am sure it is manufacturing defect and there is no recall. This means I have to trash this LG refrigerator just in 2-year. I bought a new LG top load washer in March 2013. In a months time, the washer started constantly getting an error message UE. After taking 2-4 hrs to wash a load, because of this error, I called LG. A repairman was sent to my house within 2 days. He said that the computer panel had to be replaced, that this had been a problem with many of these washing machines. He came out about 10 days later, and he replaced the computer piece. It worked for a few months, and the same thing started happening. It is now September, and I had to go out and buy a brand new washing machine. The guy that sold us the new machine, told us that these computer chips burn whenever there is a power surge (we had several lightning storms recently). He showed us how the panel lights up and will eventually burn out. He also said, that it was a good thing it did not start a fire! Needless to say, I will never buy an LG product again! I spent almost a thousand dollars on a machine that I had a total of 6 months.

Updated on 09/18/2019: Update to my prior post of July 2019. It is now September 18, 2019 and my refrigerator is still not fixed. The most recent cooling issue started in June 2019 and it is still not fixed by LG. I call every week and every week Im told that they are sending my issue to the Escalation Dept who will call me in 2-3 business days. No one ever calls back. Finally someone acted like they were going to replace it. After I uploaded receipt provided by Lowes. The new person who answered the phone said no replacement until a service person says it cannot be repaired. So, I said I dont care whether you replace it or fix it, I just need it to work because it is now 50+ degrees inside the refrigerator. Of course, this new person is referring my case to the Escalation Dept and Ill be calling again next week to try to get my refrigerator fixed. I doubt it will ever be fixed but Ill call every week until someone shows up to try to fix it... DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!!!Original Review: NEVER BUY ANY LG APPLIANCE! The LG refrigerator I bought (which cost over $3,000.00) had an error message about cooling by the fan within 24 hours of the refrigerator being delivered. It took about 6 months and at least 4 visits from a repairman (after many, many phone calls to try to get a repairmen sent) before the issue was fixed. Then, 4 months later, I have the same error message with the same fan issue. It has now been over a month since the issue started again and it is still not fixed. I could write 10 pages about the horrible customer service at LG and the slow and horrible service companies they LG has assigned to fix the issue. I will certainly never buy another LG appliance and I recommend that no one else ever buy an LG appliance. Any manufacturer has got to have a better product and a better customer service function and better service companies that they engage to act on their behalf.

I purchased the above appliance from Sears about 4-5 years ago (need to find the receipt to be accurate) and it has been a nightmare. I have used many boxes of the cleaning product made by Tide to deodorize and contacted a serviceman (at my additional expense) who instructed me to use bleach (only to discover the bleach dispenser is not dependable), remove the entire dispensing tray after each day of laundry, dry the door seal and inside of machine, and leave the door ajar when not in use...... I continue to have a problem with a sickening smell emanating from my clean laundry. I am quite convinced that this washing machine does not clean my laundry...... Whites are grey to beige! Very often, I find wads of soap in towels which I believe is due to an inadequate amount of water. An answer to this aggravating and unhealthy problem would be wonderful. Thank you.

A consumable, like a detergent or lint paper? To get to this bulb I have to unhinge the door, unscrew the cover inside the dryer and then replace. I thought consumables are something you use all the time, not have to open a screw and unhinge stuff to get to. So essentially they expect bulbs (and I wonder what else? belts? heating element? motor?) to keep failing in their dryer and they get away by saying its a consumable. LG has the WORST customer service ever and NEVER believe their warranty. BTW it took me 8 tries to get someone to Review the case thats 2 hours of effort to get someone to review an active warranty. Would you ever want to spend $1800 and be told the warranty is useless?

I have an LG front loader, real nice. Easy to use, don’t like the idea can’t clean the area where you place the soap and softener. It should be easy to remove to prevent mold etc. The model we have even though you can place a large quilt inside it is still wet after the first spin. You have to do a drain and spin in order to get the excess water out. Maybe it would work better if it was a top loader without the agitator inside.

I have been loading home dishwashers for over sixty years and my LGF7774 is the worst, and I must say, nearly impossible to load effectively. Because it doesn’t seem to be designed for actual dishes, it takes longer to load, as I have to move things around constantly to get them where they will actually get clean. The top rack areas for glasses seems to be slanted wrong and are the wrong width. As a result the glasses often fall over and break as I’m closing the tray. The bottom rack is even more frustrating. Those prongs that flop down to accommodate (what?), pans perhaps, may have seemed like a good idea to some engineer, but in use they plop down whether you want them to or not. The bottom of the lower rack could also use some redesigning. I have many square dishes and have to be over-cautious about seeing that the corners don’t extend downward where they will interfere with the spray arm.The dishes washed appear to be clean, but don’t smell clean. I’m asking the world of manufacturers, “If the user has to rewash things, or wash them before using a machine, how much water and electricity is that saving? And if I cover the food-left-on smell with a scented rinse does that make the dishes cleaner?” In fairness I must add that I just discovered that it has an extra rinse cycle and am at the moment trying that one out.

The LG side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser is only three years old, but major rust has developed on the door beneath the ice and water dispenser insert. The control panel has had to be replaced once. The ice bucket freezes up regularly and so the ice dispenser wont work (it has been replaced twice) and the ice cover has broken and been replaced. The extended warranty from Sears wont cover the rusting problem and LG refuses to do anything saying that the rust is considered cosmetic. We bought this unit because of its large capacity. However, with multiple repairs under the warranty and the rust, we regret the decision.

I purchased an LG refrigerator from Costco... Its a piece of junk and failed after 1 1/2 years. Costcos web page claims if you buy a major appliance from them it will have a two year warranty. However, neither LG or Costco and their claimed concierge service are truthful. Its just not the case. I have been trying to get this resolved for two weeks. My family has no refrigerator... thus no cold food. It was planned for the rest of my family to come for Christmas. Now that is not going to happen as I have no way to preserve food and prepare it. Costco and LG have ruined the Christmas for my family. Never buy an LG appliance as they do not support it. Dont believe Costco...their two year plan and concierge service is a joke. I literally have been on hold with both of these companies for at a minimum of six hours and gotten nowhere. This is the worst product support I have ever had in my life...and I am no spring chicken.

I bought a new LG WT7900 Washer (their top-of-the-line top-load machine) in May 2020 (3 months ago). The direct-drive motor now makes a very loud grinding noise (even though the motor has a 10-yr warranty). Ive since learned that this is a common issue thats been going on for nearly a year. I called the LG 800# found in the Owners Manual. They scheduled a repair appointment with their third-party repair service (A&E Factory Service, which also goes by the name Sears Appliance Repair... really????). I took the first-available a.m. appointment, thinking thatd increase my chances of them actually showing up.My Service appointment was scheduled for 7am-11am today (Aug 8, 2020). You guessed it... NO ONE showed up, or even bothered to contact me (other than a confirmation text I got yesterday). So I called their 800#, and was on hold an HOUR before getting a live person (guessing lots of people are having similar experiences since their phone lines are so busy??). When I finally get someone, he says he needs to put me on hold while he investigates the issue. But after being on hold another 10 minutes, the line disconnected. So now I have a brand new LG Washing Machine that doesnt work, and LG is taking no responsibility to fix it or replace it.

We bought an LG washer and dryer in March of 2014 from Lowes. Fortunate for us, we bought the extended warranty. In that time until now both machines have been serviced by at least 5 different visits. The washer is the main culprit. It will not complete an entire wash cycle without errors or not washing them at all. The technicians who come and repair them stated these machines are the worst to repair. They really could not find a certain problem but continue to throw parts at them. The dryer would not heat or dry clothes but seems to be doing better for now. The washer decided to give us a new code last night when it it began to quit yet again, OE. Reading online this is an error with pump malfunction, kinked drain tube or filter. Now after checking tube and drain, neither is clogged, but now the washer will not drain and has foul smelling water in it. At this point we are done with these machines. We are going to look for a new washer today, preferably with manual controls. We will keep the dryer until it breaks again, which is likely. These machines being a little over two years old should not be breaking down so often. I will not buy another, ever again, and warning others to do the same. The warranty is almost up and rather having to sit around all day on the appointment day waiting for a technician arrive, we will just take the loss and get another washer. Serial numbers 312PNYU60066 washer, 307KWFN7A275 dryer.

I purchased an 4.5 cu. ft. Ultra Large Capacity Top Load Washer Featuring Powerful Stain Care Technology Model: WT4870CW in March 2014, in addition to the companion dryer. I purchased this product as reviews had been good, and the price was right. It has been the worst machine I have ever owned. In spite of trying various settings, and contacting the manufacturer, clothes just dont get clean, and even today, linens that I took out had more stains on them than when they went in. The clothes dont agitate, and even if you use a setting that adds more water, the clothes just dont move around. They come out in the same position as when you loaded the machine. Forget using a water-saving setting - the clothes are barely damp. The machine will go off balance if there is anything, even one item, that is of a different weight. It resets itself endlessly. I miss my old Maytag and cant wait for a reason to get rid of the LG Washer. The drier is also a problem, but I guess I can live with wrinkled clothes more than I can with dirty ones. Dont buy an LG.

With normal household usage, our LG washing machine began to crack and break on some of the plastic surrounds. Also the hinge on the lid broke. I was asked to provide photos which I did. I made inquiries of several washing machine repairers and the consensus is that a lot of washing machines with plastic hinges do break. I feel LG has some responsibility in the poor quality goods. LG replied to my email for assistance: Hi there, I have spoken to management, they have advised there is no warranty cover for this damage. Should not a warranty cover any poor quality materials used?

For more than a week, the LG customer service representatives have repeatedly made mistakes in a simple request form for an authorization to ship a compressor that was under warranty. As a result, a wedding party is arriving and there will not be a working refrigerator. From failing to get my name and address, to failing to get the address of the service technician correctly (they got that wrong twice), and, finally, when they finally did send out the authorization form it was incorrect, it had the wrong technicians name and address. I called yet again, this was after a full week had gone by, to alert them yet again. They said they had fixed it, emailed a second authorization letter, which did arrive. But it also had the wrong technicians name and address. So I had to call yet again. This time they told me Oooops, this time we had the technicians number wrong. So they again assured me they would have it fixed promptly and resend it. Several hours have gone by, and we still do not have the authorization letter. During this ordeal, two LG customer service representatives promised to call me back to be sure the problems were resolved. Neither did. A third has just asked if she can call me back again. I declined. I am currently on hold waiting to find out the status of our authorization letter. It baffles me that a corporate entity could have any kind of international credibility with a customer service system which is so profoundly incompetent.

We purchased a Kenmore Model 79551833412 side by side refrigerator that was manufactured for Sears by LG. This units compressor failed after 17 months. I came to learn there was a class action lawsuit filed against LG for this same issue which unfortunately was dismissed. Because my mother in law is 88 years old and the estimated cost of repair was nearly the cost of a new refrigerator we chose to purchase her a new refrigerator rather than wait for it to be repaired. Sears says their warranty is only one year but the Sears rep said that the manufacturer provides a longer warranty on the compressor but labor would not be included. I contacted LG to see if they would do anything for us. They said that our recourse was with Sears so they wont stand behind their product. Stay away from LG refrigerators.

I purchased a double oven in 2018 & within six months the numbers on all the knobs were coming off. Mind you, I paid over $1300 for this range. I requested replacement parts through filing a complaint with the BBB, because LG wanted me to buy the knobs, because the warranty had expired after emailing & talking with them on several occasions. First, they set the wrong color knobs, the second time they only sent two knobs, with one being damaged & the wrong style and the third time, all the knobs they sent were different & they only sent four. This is the worst company Ive ever had to deal with & the worst & cheapest made appliance Ive ever bought. Ive never had an oven where the numbers have came off the knobs. They are ripping off the consumers by producing these defective knobs & then trying to make you buy more & when you file a complaint, they give you the runaround & send you the wrong knobs, so they dont have to replace them for free. I have been going through this process for two months & still do not have the correct knobs on my oven. I spent over $5000 buying all new kitchen appliances and this is how they treat their customers. Its not like my appliances werent registered on their site, so they had the correct model & serial number. Buyers BEWARE when buying LG products. You will get the run around when trying to get the right parts & cheap production.

200 characters isnt enough to explain, LG wont offer up they know about the issue and that they extended all warranties on the linear compressor to 5 years. My refrigerator was purchased on Nov. 1, 2017. https://lgcommunity.us.com/discussion/3871/important-lg-refrigerator-warranty-information-announcement-please-read. Opened case with LG support, LG happily said that my refrigerator is under warranty when my LG account for registering my appliances clearly says it is out of warranty. You have to call the number in the link that I added to get the warranty work. Talking with the agent, who was pleasant to speak with, also came back and said that LG will also offer to pick up the cost of the Labor on this call as a complimentary service. Really? It is stated in the warranty that Labor is covered! So much for the fake gesture, is Life Good? Anyway, back to my story. Now that I finally got to the bottom of all this, we have a service ticket generated and the agent is working to confirm a service technician in my area to take the service call, stating we will have someone within 24 hrs. Ok, well we all know by now, 3 days after the refrigerator has stopped cooling and at 61 degrees, all of our food is no longer safe to eat. It is now exactly 24hrs from placing my service call with LG and still no confirmed service technician on the case, when-o-when will my refrigerator cool again? And Ill just leave all discussion about the pandemic going on right now, ugh...As I continue to do more research about this topic, how many of you are aware of the class action suit against LG for this exact issue? ** I guess it pays to do your research. After the cost of a technician to tell me the compressor isnt functioning properly and a hum hum nudge nudge on the shoulder saying check this out, I discovered all this and am now expecting my refrigerator to be fixed for free. Once it is fixed I have to ask one more question. Is the new compressor covered by a 5 year warranty from the day it was installed, it should be! After all, we all know that this compressor will also fail within the next 36 months, give or take. This is the second generation linear compressor and LG has yet to fix its know issues, I am not aware of a 3rd generation compressor coming out any time soon. If you continue to research you will find that LG has already gone through a class action suit for this same issue on compressors prior to these. I hope this was some what helpful to anyone reading this and doing their own research into an LG refrigerator. Anyone looking for a French Door Refrigerator? I have one for sale!

Let’s see. So my French door fridge (model # LFC25770SB) is only 2 years old. Weve had it since May 2010. It was bought brand new from Home Depot for our new home. It has worked fine until 11/14/2012. I came home from work and the entire bottom cavity (freezer) was thawed out and everything completely ruined (my Thanksgiving meal, since we went shopping a few days prior)! The freezer isn’t keeping anything cold, so therefore neither is the fridge! The fridge was 47 degrees when I got home! I called LG on their emergency line the night it happened and was told that the food that I lost would be covered in part. Not the case! They refused to cover anything. I have to wait up to 3 weeks for a new part, which I have to pay out of pocket for, and the labor that is included in fixing this part! Needless to say, a 2-year-old fridge was obviously a piece of **! I lost over $500 in groceries, not to mention the insulin that I had in the fridge because I’m a diabetic! LG lost this customer! And I doubt they will care to do anything! All they say is they are sorry! Must not really be sorry, because I should have gotten a reimbursement for some of the product lost because of their ** appliance that broke after, seriously, only 2 years! Do something LG!

Our LG fridge is about 5 years old and it has died. I can understand that things can go wrong but the customer service at LG is terrible. They are extremely rude! We have had to take two days off work and it still isnt fixed. We were told the freon leaked out and the company had to address this problem. We spoke to several people at customer service and they were nasty. We have been without a fridge for two weeks and there is no end in sight. We are starting from scratch and have to be home between 10-2 tomorrow for a second service person to come out. They arent going to fix it! Just look at it! So we will likely have to take a third day off work if we are lucky enough to get anyone out to actually fix it. My husband was just recently diagnosed with cancer. The tumor is causing lots of pain. Updated on 09/03/2019: Please read and adhere to my review. I have had a technician out now 4 times. They finally decided to replace the compressor. When they did and left, they installed a faulty compressor that made my fridge actually heat up to 85 degrees. I called them and they came out last Friday and said yes, second compressor was bad. So I called today to ask where we go now, their response...We need to send out a technician to verify that the compressor is bad. I said, You came last Friday. LG said, Well he didn’t call us to report it so we need to send him out again and call us when he’s in front of the fridge. Mind you it’s been the same tech all 4 times and they want me to schedule him again, which takes 10 days wait every time. Please read the reviews and see how bad they are. I’m disgusted with this company.Updated on 08/29/2019: I am now one month without a fridge. Took them 5 calls and 2 weeks to get back. They finally sent a tech who vacuumed out my fridge and left. I called 5 more times and finally got them to come back 2 weeks later to put in a new compressor. Fridge is now screaming loud and has gone up 10 degrees. They want to send a technician a third time and I hung up. The tech said he has replaced 74 lg compressors....that’s from the technician. If you call their number it says, “Are you having a cooling problem….” Stay far away from this brand. We are a large family and living out of coolers in August with no answer in sight.Original Review: I bought a LG fridge 2 years ago. My refrigerator quit cooling so I called customer service. They told me they extended the warranty to five years and I would receive a call within 3-5 business days. I never received a call within the time frame. I called twice during that time to check and and I always got the same response that it would be escalated. On the sixth day they told me it was scheduled out two weeks. I explained that we are a family of five and that’s crazy. Then I received a text confirmation telling me that it was actually 3 weeks out before someone would come out, but they would escalate and nothing else they could do. Runaway from LG fridges. It’s the middle of summer and we had to throw everything away and living out of a cooler. They could care less.... Customer service is worse than the actual refrigerator.... You’ve now been warned. They are aware of the issue due to when you call the automated message says is your LG fridge not cooling? Junk!!

Bought this expensive $2500 LG fridge from Costco June 2018, we were remodeling our kitchen. After 6 months the ice maker defrosted and started leaking and unable to dispense ice. The repairman changed the ice dispenser motor and seemed to work ok. Then after another 3 months or so, the freezer and refrigerator stopped working, defrosting all of our food. We lived on ice coolers and no cooking. When the repairman came, he unplugged the ref, and it started working again. After another month, same thing happened, defrosted all of our food again, lived on ice coolers for 4 days till repairman came and says it might be the control board acting up? He will order the part but we have to wait another 3 days or so. We are waiting for the part he ordered Thursday and will come Wednesday, long wait for a very frustrating expensive ref? I recommend “Don’t buy this fridge!“ Not worth the headaches. I live in Vegas. Very hot here, no fridge life is not easy! Very frustrating, unhappy with poor customer service. We have now had the fridge 11 months and the freezer ices up and the fridge part doesnt cool. The display on the door indicates Er dH , without the manual I have no idea what this means. We live in Panama a long way from towns. We called in a local tech to repair or diagnose. However he spoke no English whatsoever and we know very little Spanish. He defrosted the freezer with a hair dryer charged $45. The freezer continues to ice up and the fridge side gets warm with subsequent food spoilage. Contacting LG is a waste of time as they are not interested in servicing Panama. Ive found out from researching that the defrost timer is stuck or malfunctioning. I have no idea where this item is located or how to get at it without a servicing manual. We purchased an LG inverter direct drive washing machine four years ago, there seems to be some sort of ash looking material on our clothing after the first year. Today the agitator bolts snapped in half and the large circular agitator in the bottom of the washing machine came off. I pulled out the agitator since it was broken and underneath was a ton of ash looking junk and gunk. Horrible product. Do not purchase. Very unhappy. I have to buy a different washing machine today because this one broke and it is horrible.

I am extremely happy with my LG microwave. I have not had any problems since I bought it 4 years ago and when the day comes that it no longer works, I will be sure to purchase another LG microwave. I have also recommended this microwave to family and friends.

No stars - I would never by an LG product again. My wife has cancer and it took them 4 months to get one part - once it came in 5 repair men called it unfixable. This was a 2009 high end fridge that has us running to the garage in sub zero temps to use a 20 year old Kenmore. Worst experience ever.

Model LSC27910 side by side refrigerator-freezer is the worst refrigerator I had in my life and Im 67. The fan motor was out 2 days after warranty. The ice-maker jams and gets ice all over floor. The water doesnt stop when you pull away glass most of the time. Horrible machine in every day use.

Very pleased with refrigerator repair process. It went very smoothly and our freezer is working fine now. I do think that when you pay 2K to 4K for a fridge, it should last longer than 2 yrs. The issue I have is trying to get customer service to compensate us for food loss (which they informed us we were entitled to). I have talked numerous times to customer service and still NO CALLBACK WHEN PROMISED! PLEASE DON’T MAKE PROMISES YOU KNOW YOU’RE NOT GOING TO KEEP!!

I bought this LG Gas Slide In Stove Model LSG4511ST from Home Depot online
I bought this LG Gas Slide In Stove Model LSG4511ST from Home Depot online on Feb 17, 2018. Within a few weeks of barely using it all five burners on the stainless steel stove top were corroding with rust. We just spent a ton of money remodeling our kitchen and were excited to get our first and new Slide in Gas Stove. Well the nightmare began. We contacted Home Depot and they referred us to LG. Home Depot wouldn’t speak to us. We paid $1300 for the stove. After many calls, chats and emails to LG customer service and their executive office they replaced the entire SS stove top and all five burners after SIX months of hell with them. They didn’t show up, excuses, no response to emails, no call backs - HORRIBLE company. Then within a short time after they replaced parts it started corroding AGAIN around ALL FIVE burners. The calls, chats, emails to LG started again and this time they don’t respond at all. I tried Home Depot also and they will not take any responsibility. Nothing! I am sitting here with a defective ugly stove in the middle of our brand new kitchen. I am now forced to sue them. I filed a complain the US Bureau of Consumer Goods a month ago, was assigned a complaint number and “investigator” name and email and they don’t respond either. I have tons of documentation of this nightmare and photos. The icing on the cake is I wrote a review for the stove on www.homedepot.com and they “rejected” it. They didn’t want the public to know the truth about a product they sell!

My experience was pleasant and effortless. It had an ice-making machine in the door and kept my food cold correctly. My food was never too warm. It worked and kept my food cold, its pretty simple. I would include more space, especially for bigger freezer storage. If it had room for bigger items that would be an improvement as well. It was included with the house we lived at. It met our initial expectations. Since I got it for free my expectations were pretty low. Its a refrigerator, if it keeps my food cold and works properly, Im happy.

We bought a new LG Washing Machine from Lowes in March 2015. We have already had problems with the machine. Now we are getting the message E6 which means we have a clutch problem. We have had to wait a week for the service call. Very disappointed with Lowes and LG.Updated on 08/14/2015: It seems as if we are nothing to Lowes or LG. The repairman showed up Tuesday and now has to order parts. These parts are a clutch and PC board. Lowes and LG has no idea when the repair company will receive the parts. We have now been without a washing machine for over 2 weeks. I will not buy another LG product nor do business at Lowes unless it is an emergency. Thank God we do have a 5 year warranty on the washer and dryer.

The refrigerator was ordered at Home Depot. I was contacted by LG directly that the product was on backorder and that they would not meet the delivery time frame. Two weeks later they called again to state that the specific refrigerator that I ordered was not available and discontinued. The offered a different refrigerator that did not meet the size specifications that were most important to me. When I stated the three specs that were mandatory to me - they basically said - This is what we can offer and thats it. They did not offer any other options. POOR customer service and even though they upgraded with one option that I did NOT want (wi-fi) the size is smaller, the product is disappointing. The refrigerator will either freeze produce or it turns to rubber. It does not maintain the quality of refrigerated products. I will not order another LG product as a result. The filter also only lasts 4 months - before having to be replaced. Freezer items get frostburn and ruins the quality of the product.

Im not typically a person who takes the time to write reviews, but felt it
Im not typically a person who takes the time to write reviews, but felt it was necessary to at least call out the so many wrongs with this product and the service that follows... IN CASE IT HAPPENS TO YOU. I read the reviews and saw some of the complaints about frost build up and thought, eh it wont happen to me... WRONG. Not only was I wrong, but during COVID-19, sending a tech inside your home to fix a problem with a fridge that is LGs poor quality performance is frustrating enough, BUT having that same problem occur again 24 hours later - NOT ACCEPTABLE. LGs only recommendation is to send a tech out again. HOME DEPOT is not held blameless in this either. Instead of standing by their customer and offering an exchange/refund, they explain that its an LG problem, not Home Depot. AWFUL. A day after the frost build up still hadnt been fixed, a grinding noise began, the plastic that divides the two doors broke off, and the error message showed up and wouldnt reset. To this day I have an error message on my fridge, a loud grinding noise and a frost build up freezer that doesnt work. My food goes bad earlier and earlier each week. LG said all they can do is send a tech out. I have a son with an autoimmune disease. I refuse to have more techs come to the house during this pandemic. LG has zero understanding of peoples rights and needs during this time. The answer is lets send a technician out on a work day to work on the same exact problem that they never fixed in the first place!! This is just a snippet of the issues, not to mention, their customer service EXECUTIVE lead member hanging up on me after I waited over an hour due to call volume. RUDE! Nightmare purchase, poor quality fridge that breaks down a month after you buy it... The worst customer service for both Home Depot and LG.

3 yrs ago we purchased a LG top loading washing machine. I called customer service after my machines electronic board went out (that has a recall on it). The machine also was locked with water and clothes in it. Customer service gave me a service rep to call and I did. Also was told I had to pay out of pocket for the tech to come out but with the situation of clothes and water locked inside it I have no other option but the number I was given. They do not service my area. I called back to LG, got told someone would contact me. That has been over 1 month ago.

During the summer of 2010, my wife and I made a decision to remodel the kit
During the summer of 2010, my wife and I made a decision to remodel the kitchen after having extension plumbing work done to our home. As part of that, we wanted new appliance and bought the LG refrigerator because it was the size we need to fill the space. A couple of years after we purchased it, it stopped cooling. I called LG and a customer service person told me to unplug it for at least six hours and plug it back in. I did and that seemed to fix the problem. It also had some type of water leak with the ice maker that would allow a large sheet of ice to build up to the point in the bottom the door would no longer close. I was able to remove it without much difficulty, but this happened continuously until the water line to the unit froze and burst and I turned off the line completely. In August of 2015, our refrigerator quit cooling and we contacted the company to see if it was still under warranty and we were told the compressor and sealed system was covered for seven years. This is a parts only warranty. They gave me the name of four repair companies and I contacted the one closest to me. The first tech looked at it and said they would have to send someone else out. I paid him for the call $75 and he left. The next tech came a few days later and quoted me a price of $275 to replace the compressor and the evaporator, but told me LG refrigerators had a history of leaking in the tubing in the walls and if that was in fact the problem, it could not be fixed. He told me to contact LG and begin the process of getting the parts. This began a two month struggle of phone calls back and forth between myself, LG and the repairman. No matter who I called, they said I needed to talk to the other one. The repairman eventually stopped taking my calls and after weeks of trying to get help, an LG customer service representative told me he informed the company he would no longer work on their products, a lie on someones part because he fixed my boss refrigerator a few weeks after that. They told me to contact another person on the list, so I went to the next closest person to my town, who refused to touch it because someone else had already looked at it. It was October 27 before LG was able to get A&E to get a repairman out. They told me I would not have to pay for the call because of the inconvenience it had created. He replaced the dryer in the back and the next day, I was once again able to put food back into it.Around December 14, my wife noticed the refrigerator was again not cooling. I contacted LG and they contact A&E, who couldnt get anyone out until January 12. The repairman didnt show up on the 12th and when I called, they didnt have the appointment in the system. They rescheduled for the next week. When the repair technician arrived, he called his supervisor to say it looked like the wrong type of dryer (dye dryers help them diagnose where leaks may be) had been put on the unit. They suggested he hook a freon tank to the unit and heat it with a welding torch and listen for the leak. He didnt hear anything and suggested replacing the compressor and evaporator. He was told not to do anything to the unit because they wanted another technician to come out and look at the unit to try and find the leak. (The company never noted any of this in their system and the tech says he doesnt remember the call.) He apologized to me and told me he felt the leak was in the walls of the refrigerator and couldnt be fixed. A few days later, two techs arrived at the house and my frustration level had reached a boiling point. He asked me what had happened with the previous visit, I told him and he called his supervisor. That was when we found out no notes were taken on the previous call. He then suggested replacing the compressor and evaporator and I took my frustration out on him.He was the tech who came in October and defended the fact he put in the right evaporator. He said if there was no visible sign of a leak during the last visit, then the leak was in the walls of the unit and could not be fixed. He advised me to call LG and felt they needed to honor their warranty, which I did. The customer service representative said they couldnt do anything until the tech filed his report. She never gave me any impression the problem might not fall under their warranty. I left the tech a message and he talked to a supervisor who said they would come out and replace the compressor and evaporator, but it would be the last visit made to my home on this issue. He told me to call LG and get the compressor and evaporator shipped to my home. I did and they promptly connected me to A&E to set up the service call. (I never received the replacement parts.)When the tech arrived a few days later, he called a supervisor and they told him to hook up the sealed system and check gauge readings. There was talk about a blockage in the lines. After several minutes, the tech disconnected the gauges, the call ended and he told me if the line was blocked it was in the walls of the unit and was not repairable. At this point, I contacted LG and was connected to the executive services office in Huntsville, Alabama. I spoke with a woman there who was pleasant at first, but then informed me the lines in the wall are not part of the sealed system. I told her there was no way to repair them because they were literally sealed in the wall. She then proceeded to tell me it was my fault for not reading the warranty information on the unit completely. I have owned LG Cell phones and other electronic products and was always pleased with how they worked. As a home appliance company, they are terrible. I paid more than two-weeks pay to buy this refrigerator. My last refrigerator I paid $350 for and it lasted nearly 15 years. If LG is the only company to make refrigerators in the future, I will search antique stores and look for an old fashioned ice chest and become friends with the ice man before I put another one of their products in my home.

It took weeks of phone calls and Emails but LG finally agreed to repair our refrigerator at no cost to us. I do thank them for finally doing this. We did have to purchase a used refrigerator to see us through and did lose well over $200 in food. But it was repaired yesterday (02/17/2021). I thank Consumer Affairs for their part in bringing this to a satisfactory conclusion.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator two years with dismal results. The ice maker on the French doors broke, even though I only actually used it for 8 months. I applied to the company for assistance. I complied with all their requests for information, but they never got back to me. Finally after several weeks and many calls, they said they would not help because I purchased a floor model. There are two lessons here - The LG refrigerators are poor performers and the companys warranty is worthless.

Bought LG over the stove microwave on 11/10/20 at Home Depot in Homer Glen, IL. Model LMV2031. Serial 007TAMABC5. Its been running fine, really no problems until last week. When I turn the light on the glass covering the light gets so hot I cant touch. It also make the glass turn table inside the microwave so hot I needed a pot holder to take it out. The whole inside was hot. Im afraid to use it because it might catch on fire. What can be done about this? **

My 2-yr old LG fridge broke, LG authorized A&E to for the repair. I called A&E, took me 3 days to make an appointment. It was 2nd week of June, the appointment was 1st week of July. The repairman told me parts need to be replaced, they re-scheduled me for July 29. July 29 came and I got a phone call at 8 am telling me that the technician couldnt make it and told me to call A&E to reschedule. The earliest is August 24. I took a day off just to be home for the technician, and now this is my situation.

It was on sale and I had the extra money at the time and I have to take advantage of the sale at the time so I went ahead and bought it. Sleek general design and finish to give me the feeling of middle class home and in that case reminds me to do a little better so I can get the smart fridge again. It even suggested things for me and was just all around wonderful. I really do miss having the ultimate control not just a fridge.

Just bought the LG LDT9965BD Dishwasher. It does not dry the dishes properly. I didnt realize that the dishwasher has what they call a hybrid drying system. The dishwasher does not have a heating element, instead, it relies on the heat that is retained by the dishes. They recommend hotter water which is NOT a good idea if you have children. Also, rinse aid is REQUIRED to enhance the drying performance. They should really inform customers about this. Also, the inside of the door stays wet all the time unless you dry it after you wash your dishes.
