I purchased my LG French Door Refrigerator in August of 2013. It worked great until earlier this week when it completely stopped cooling after only 2 1/2 years of use. I called LG and was sent to an overseas call center where someone reading from a script was quick to inform me that the 1 year warranty of my $2,000 appliance had expired. Not only did they not make any effort to help me, all they did was provide the names of two non-local companies who could service my appliance at my expense. I called the companies who would not travel to my home. I called LG back and they told me to find a repair person myself because they have no authorized repair people in my area. I did find a repair person to look at it and it was determined to be a sealed system failure which would be covered under my limited parts warranty. I called LG back and they have no one in my area that will work on a sealed system failure on their product. I have a completely useless product and no one to fix it. I paid $2000 for a refrigerator and I am storing my groceries in a cooler in my garage. I have never received such horrible customer service and I would strongly caution anyone considering an LG appliance to NOT do it! I will NEVER do business with this company again.

My husband and I purchased an LG appliance package from Best Buy (about $5k) when we bought our new house in May 2018. It included a refrigerator, stove, microwave and dishwasher. In March 2020 while self-isolating during the Coronavirus pandemic our refrigerator compressor went out, resulting in the loss of around $250 worth of food. This is bad enough, but it happened with a food shortage going on because of the Coronavirus panic-buying that is happening everywhere. We had to wait 3 days before we could get a repairman out to us. Thankfully he had a compressor; it was under warranty, and was successfully replaced. The fact that LG KNEW that they had faulty compressors in their refrigerators, and that neither Best Buy nor LG contacted us to notify us of this defect is really a problem. We are out the $150 that it cost for the repairman, as well as the cost of the food we lost. I will never buy another LG product since it appears that they dont care about the consumers, only about their bottom line. If youre thinking about buying an LG appliance, DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST and read reviews.

Model# LMX25964ST100, Serial# 008KRUC00694. I cannot get a repair technician or any replacement through manufacturer warranty. I bought it in 11-20-2010 and the freezer or ice make dont work but it runs constantly. So I have unplugged it after 6 days of straight running because I was afraid it would get too hot and catch on fire. Can someone tell me what I have to do to get it back since it has not been fixed and run so much? It is a Double-Door LG refrigerator and I have talked to LG customer service for a whole week and still cant get nothing done. I even contacted Home Depot where I bought it and an extended warranty, but they can do nothing because it is still under manufacturer warranty. Needless to say, I probably will never buy another LG product but I would like mine replaced or refunded for it!

A waste of money, LG top loader bought in 2011. Rust begin after a year use leaving rust spots on whites, clothes end up in knots after wash cycle, and constantly showing UE error for washer being unbalanced. Should have done my research or kept my cheap washer I had over 10 years. Trying to live in the modern world a lost of 2 grand and ending up with a piece of junk.

We have a 4 year old side by side LG refrigerator. Ever since last year the right side of the ice cube department completely freezes up and it makes it impossible to distribute cubes down tray. We change our filters every 6 months. For days we have put microwave hot rags down the right side of the cube holder to soften the cube holder so that we are able to move the tray holder out. This is very frustrating because we host a lot of parties and have to buy ice. The refrigerator is 41 degrees and the freezer is -2. Please help.

I bought an LG washer at Best Buy in 07. After less than 2 years, the gears went in the front load. I purchased an extended warranty through Best Buy and they had a service tech come out and diagnose it. They said it would be too much to fix so they replaced it. I was downgraded but I was just happy to have my washer back. That was September 09. I bought another extended warranty through Best Buy. Now, another 2 years later, it has stopped spinning and wont drain. I contacted Best Buy and they told me that my warranty expired in September 2011. They told me to contact the manufacturer. So I called LG and they said that they will not do anything. I then emailed LG to tell them that I was unhappy and I believe if you pay over a thousand dollars for a washer it should last for more than two years. They then emailed me back and told me again that there was nothing they could do about it and thanks for choosing LG and be blessed. That made me furious . The state of Maine has a 4-year implied warranty through the manufacturer. Dont buy anything LG . They dont stand behind their product.

I love my LG washer. It’s self-adjustment for water levels based on load is a water saver. However, the ability to increase the water level manually if wanting a greater rinse still gives me control over my laundry. With its many available washing options, one doesn’t have to “think” each time a load Is added; if I’m washing towels, I just choose the “Towel” option and the machine does the rest. My spin cycle is extremely effective, making the drying time a minimal. Last, the size of the tub is large enough for a thin blanket. This is nice when needing to wash stored bed coverings prior to winter use. The only con I might have is getting the message “uneven load” and of acing to stop the machine and adjust the wet items. This usually happens if I have a mix load of unlike weights.

The compressor went out on my refrigerator two weeks ago on a Sunday. It went out without warning and the resulting water that leaked from it has caused my floors to start warping. The repairman came on Wednesday, explained the problem, ordered the parts, which were received on July 5th. I immediately called to schedule an appointment only to be told that the earliest they could come out would be July 29th. So, as of right now, my only source of keeping food cold is two ice chests which I have to fill up every other day. My husband and I are both dealing with medical issues and this is just the icing on the cake. I am ready to blow my stack if I hear one more person say there is nothing they can do. Any help would be appreciated.

Purchased an LG gas range because it had 5 burners. Was pleased with it until I notice the inside of the knobs have plastic and keep cracking. The first time LG replaced them at no cost to me. Now they are cracked again. Called LG and they wont replace them again. Want me to purchase them at $63.66 ea. I have 5 knobs - thats $318.30 for the knobs. If I buy them, they are going to crack again because they are the same ones. These knobs are defective. LG should have replace them with a better constructed knob so this doesnt happen again. Now its hard to turn the burners on cause they slip. Thought they would have taking care of this problem but NO.

The ice maker/water dispenser has never worked properly. It was replaced during the warranty stage. Now theres a crack in it where the water fills up before going into the trays inside. Water is constantly leaking out the dispenser. The ice maker freezes up and to get it out to unclog it, you have to yank really hard since its frozen in place by the water that leaks out. The door is being ruined due to the constant water leak. Also, the plastic veggie/meat drawers are both cracked. Really thin edges on them. Just yesterday, the plastic cover on the edge of the shelf came off and wont stay on anymore.

We purchased LG appliances in October 2008 - a beautiful side-by-side fridge, a 5-burner gas range, microwave/hood, and dishwasher to the tune of almost $5,000. We have had nothing but problems with the dishwasher since day 1. LG replaced it once, then replaced the heating coils and then stopped responding to our requests for help. I loved my range. That is until the knobs started falling off and we would smell gas. The range was not even a year old. LG sent someone out to look at it, who told me the burners turned on okay and there was nothing they could do. I contacted LG, explained that the gas would turn on from just brushing by the range and we would not know it until we smelled gas. They agreed to send replacement knobs. I noted that, in the subsequent model, the stems and knobs had been redesigned. I assume because this was a universal problem.I continued to complain about the safety; however, once I explained that there was no safety issue if the knobs were replaced, LG agreed to continue to send me new knobs whenever needed. Since that time, I have called about once a year for a new set. I contacted them today and after over an hour of arguing, was disconnected after being told the stove is out of warranty and they will no longer replace the knobs. I explained that I paid $1,500 for this range and the complaint/concerns were raised during the warranty period. I actually had to take pictures of the online chat with my cell phone after I was disconnected. At this point, I am contemplating a class action suit primarily due to the safety concerns related to having the gas on without the burner. I refuse to pay $350 for a new set of knobs every year. As an aside, I have noted that LG has stopped making ranges.

We recently purchased a new home and with it came an LG washer. After a service call to LG, followed by a maintenance call from a local repair company we are STILL completely dissatisfied with this washer. I have never in all my years of doing laundry (4 children) have ever had to sort clothes based on weight. Even with doing so, the load can take up to two hours to do. The spin cycle is awful and continues to repeat itself. It is quicker to dry a load of towels versus doing a load of wash with the LG. I have read many of the same complaints on this board. LG, you need to do something about this. I would never, ever recommend an LG product to anyone based on my experience with this one product. It is the absolute worst.

We have had an F3 error code issue for months, it threw the error for the first time 2 years to the month from date of manufacture. We have had the range for 26 months and the error for the last six months of that. After numerous calls with LG they would tell us to unplug the unit and at first that would clear the error only for it to return a few days to a week later, then when those calls resulted in the error never clearing they suggested that we have a tech out to fix it at our own expense since it was beyond warranty. After numerous visits from a LG referred appliance repair company, having LG first suggest we spend $200 on a part to replace the buttons, then when that didnt work asked to spend another $160 on the actual control panel part for the electronic system LG shipped a part for this stove which does not fit in the actual model we have. They apparently have discontinued the original part that is needed, at this point there is no part that fits our range which was manufactured 2 years ago in March 2018, we received the stove in June 2018 and have had issues with the F3 error button in a continuous shortage stage since about March 2020.This was not a cheap gas range. It cost ~$2,000 and to have spent $360 on parts + another $200 on labor at this point we are so frustrated. that is $560 that we could have put towards a stove that would not be a continuous pain the the side to have repaired, for an issue that should not be coming up so close to the manufacture date on an appliance of this cost only to find that they dont make the part we need any longer. I would not recommend purchasing a LG range to anyone I know.

Two years ago I purchased all new LG appliances for my kitchen. The microwave and oven work properly. However the dishwasher and refrigerator are pieces of junk. I upgraded my dishwasher to the Inverter Direct Drive. After trying different loading methods and different brands of D/W soap, the only way my dishes get truly cleaned, is if I use the power scrub setting. This setting runs for 2:45!!!My refrigerator LG model LFX31925ST/02 is even worse!! Every so often it makes loud vibrating sounds (which I have recorded), some banging which results in a chunk of ice that falls out of the bottom. The freezer is on the bottom and has 3 drawers. The top drawer does not maintain freezing temperatures, resulting in defrosted food that has to be thrown out. When I contacted LG Repair service (I paid for extra warranty) I was told that I am not covered for a repair visit, unless the refrigerator acts up in their presence. I advised them that I have photos and videos to prove its poor performance, however that is not sufficient! I called the retail store where I purchased it. After several calls, the store manager called me and apologized because LG would not even cooperate with him!

When I bought my washer, I was told I had to leave the door open to keep it from molding and smelling. I thought that was very odd, but it is correct. Purchases an LG Refrigerator in June 2020. Refrigerator started making loud knocking noise. Reached out to Customer Service and they said they can come out on January 4th. Next day I wake up to an error code on the refrigerator and run a diagnosis through their app and tells me the fan motor needs attention, so I call back to see if I can get an earlier appointment. I am told they can cancel the first appointment and get me another appointment set up. So they do and now they are telling me they cant come out until January 5th. Service representative supervisor has zero cares and wouldnt even give me his name and cant understand him at all during the call. I asked to speak to another supervisor that I can understand and refused to transfer me. Then proceeded to ask to speak to his supervisor and he says he can have one call me back but cant promise if I will get a call back. I will never buy another LG product again. I bought a top load washer 3 years ago. It was serviced once under warranty within the year. About 3 months out of warranty I get the UE message constantly. I thought it was no level, leveled it... OOH EE OOH EE UE... I thought it was too many clothes. OOH EEE OOOH EEEE. It is a big joke now between my wife and I although irritating. What good is a high-efficiency washer that uses 50 gallons of water (I am not sure of that amount but it fills the drum 3 times to balance) every time you do a load of laundry. I am sending this one to the junk pile soon. You shouldnt have to buy a new washer every 3 years. Actually this one should have been scrapped a year and a half ago. I think they have the initials backwards LG should be GL... Good Luck!

I researched ovens forever and finally settled on an LG. I was so excited. I used it twice - once for a frozen dinner and once for a turkey. All the moisture and grease went straight into the area between the glass. I tried the self-clean (both kinds) and water from the self-clean went between the glass as well. There was obviously a seal issue. I called LG and they said no - its cosmetic (didnt seem to make a difference it happened from cooking once). I kept going from service rep to service rep and speaking to people until they sent out a service technician. I asked him can you please fix the seal issue? I told him I didnt care if he fixed it or replaced the door, either way that would have been fine. He said no I am going to order you a new door, it should take 6 weeks. I asked do I need to do anything? He said no. I called to check on the status of my new door and they said OH...LG declined to send it... Not one person from LG or the repair place called me to tell me that, not a word from anyone, the repair place passed the buck and said they were supposed to let you know.So I called, spent more time on the phone trying to explain they need to either fix the seal as every bit of moisture gets in there or replace the door. They didnt care. They said its just cosmetic, your oven still works. I asked them so what you are saying is that all your ovens have this issue, mine is not an exception, and you stand behind the fact that even a brand-new oven is going to look like hell? No answer. I asked about the implied warranty of merchantability and she checked with Legal and said no, they dont have to do anything because its considered cosmetic. She then went on to say it says in the manual not to put a lot of water directly on the oven... I proceeded to tell her I did not, I only followed the self-clean instructions to the letter and the repairman could see that there is a gap and all moisture is getting in. Did not matter and furthermore did not have ONE word, not even an apology for not contacting me to let me know that they had denied the request. No one at LG calls back and follows up and they just keep saying this is cosmetic and they dont care because people keep buying the product. When I brought it up to them that their customer service was not good and they needed to at least speak to their customers and let them know instead of just letting them wait - no response. It is also my opinion the repair companies they send are just as bad since they basically lied to me--that repairman looked me straight in the eye and said your new door should be here in about 6 weeks. I am warning anyone who is shopping for an oven - do not get an LG - unless you dont care if it looks like hell even the very first or second time you use it. Now I am going to have to research and find a repair person to see if I can have the problem fixed on my dime when this was 100% not my fault and LGs defective product. In summary, on top of the fact there is a seal issue within the glass, the customer service is the worst I have seen of any business I have dealt with. The fact that they say its cosmetic even though its a brand new oven shows that once they have sold the item, they do not care if that item looks bad through no fault of the customer. I can understand if the oven gets scratched or has some sort of cosmetic issue over time, but for this to be an issue right out of the box and for them not even to attempt to fix it (not necessarily replace but fix) is truly beyond the worst customer service there can be. I have never written a consumer report before but I am so mad and do not want anyone else to have this happen to them. I will never buy LG again (or for that matter, Samsung as they are all part of the same company) and recommend when purchasing an appliance of any sort - go with another brand do not buy LG unless you are willing to pay for problems even if they are not your fault.

Washing Machine Model WT1101CW - There are several issues, the top being that the washer does a poor job of cleaning clothes. Ive had to soak white shirts in bleach to get out normal dirt. Ive had to wash clothes twice and three times to get them to even smell clean. I had a 20 year old Maytag prior to the LG and Im ready to get rid of this one after only having it 3 months. A second issue is that it leaves a full tray of water in the dispenser after the cycle is completed. I have to dump out the water every time. I called for service and they will not come out for that issue - stating that they only respond to technical issues and thats not technical. What??? NEVER PURCHASE A LG PRODUCT! I purchased all new appliances for my kitchen. Less than 10 months ago. The seal cracked and the light stays on constant. The sensor is very annoying. Going off all hours of the night. I have called Lowe’s to get nothing but a runaround, called LG numerous times, one service man showed up and never returned. The next appliance repair man notified me and cancelled due to LG not paying service providers for their work. On top of when I call LG, I am placed on hold for over an hour every single phone call and never make any lead way. I actually filed a claim the beginning of November 2018 and just a few days ago they tried to say my warrant had expired. I am irate and feel with all the complaints I have read on here, the company should be shut down by consumer service. How ridiculous to take advantage of consumers. Also, their extended warranty is just like throwing money into a fire. So useless! I have never been so upset over a purchase of any appliance like I am today with LG. I will never purchase another LG product nor will I ever shop at Lowe’s again! Less than one year old and no one will stand good for this “Lemon” of a refrigerator. I hope these people that treat others so bad get what they deserve after leaving this earth. Some of us work hard, do the right thing, and get walked on by shysters like LG. Very, very sad! I teach children to make the right choices in life. How upsetting to have to deal with inconsiderate businesses like LG. I really feel for the people that work for them. I would be embarrassed to admit that I worked for a business like LG. If you can’t afford to stand good for your products, you should just quit building junk!!! It’s a big rip off! LG is JUNK! They will never get my business again. BEWARE of THEIR LEMON PRODUCTS!

Im wondering if anyone else has had this problem with an LG washer. Both the service tech and the LG customer support techs said theyve never heard of it. I just discovered a few days ago that the machine does not add any water during the rinse cycle!!! Who knows how long Ive been wearing clothes and using towels that havent been rinsed. The tech replaced both circuit boards but it still does not work. LG insists that because the tech said that it does add a small amount of water there is nothing wrong.I tried to explain that a cup of water at the very end of the rinse cycle, which does not ever agitate and immediately drains out is NOT how its supposed to work. The tech said he doesnt know how much water is supposed to flow into the machine for the rinse cycle, but as long as something goes in, it means its working fine. Seriously? Im done being angry... just going to throw it out, but Im wondering if anyone else has had the no rinse water problem and if you were able to get it fixed. Thanks.

DO NOT BUY LG refrigerator. DO NOT USE A & E Factory Service. Terrible experience that is still ongoing. I have waited over a month for repair. First appointment was canceled on me. Second appointment tech was a idiot and did not fix. Third appointment was canceled on me because one of three parts didn’t not arrive. I requested a different tech but on 4th appointment he shows up at my door. And he only used 1 of the 3 parts that was ordered. I am super frustrated and the dumb tech even laugh that he could’ve fixed it the first time he came. This is 24 hrs later... the refrigerator is still not cold!!!! He didn’t even fix it. I hate LG and I hate the A & E (Sears) service. LG knows they have a issue with their compressors.

We purchased an LG fridge in November. Soon we noticed water puddling on top of the freezer door (bottom freezer model). Then we noticed that the water was freezing on the outside of the ice maker bucket, and that the ice cubes were melting then freezing together. When we used a blowdryer to melt some of the ice so we could remove the ice bucket, the melted water ran out, not from the dispenser as we would expect, but from all the seams in the door. On February 9th, I sent in a repair request. The provider I was given (which took a couple of days to receive) was unprofessional and after giving my address, told me they had no availability in my area and to find someone else and hung up. On February 14th, I received two more service providers contact info. One of them never answered my repeated calls. The other one informed me that they only serviced a neighboring county. Around February 21, I received another service providers contact info, and a service appointment was set up for March 1, between 8 am and noon. I took the morning off work. When the technician had not arrived by 12:30, I called the service provider who said they would contact the technician and get back to me. I was called back in a few minutes and was told the technician was stuck in traffic and would be at my home by 1 pm. At 1:15, he had still not arrived and I called the service again. She said she would call him again and get back to me. This time when she called back, she said he did not answer his phone and she that she left him a voicemail. When he finally showed up, around 2:30, he said that he had been running a little behind. After looking at the ice maker, he told me this was a common problem with this model of fridge and we would need a whole new door, which might or might not fix the problem, and someone would be in touch with me within 24 hours to set up an installation date and time. Nine days later, I got the call and an appointment was scheduled for March 13th, again between 8 am and noon. Again, I took the morning off work. Again, the technician did not arrive till after 2 pm. He did install a new door, said we were all set and left. And now the ice maker does not work at all. So far, Ive missed two days work, dealt with 4 incompetent and unprofessional service providers authorized by LG. Ive read many reviews praising LG products, but frankly all the reviews for their customer service are very negative (wishing we had checked those out and not just the product reviews when we purchased the appliances in November).

Updated on 08/12/2019: I posted a review of LG refrigerator here a while ago. I described how shortly after the warranty ended, it needed a circuit board replaced and every shelf cracked. LG responded to me claiming this was unusual and they wanted to take care of it. They asked me for more and more information, model, serial number, date of purchase, photos, etc. This went on for several weeks. Finally they responded that the warranty was over and they owed me nothing. But they already knew this since my review already mentioned that. So the only reason they responded must be to give others the impression that they stood behind the products when they actually didnt. It was rubbing salt into a wound. I thought readers should know. And LG, dont bother responding. I wont fall for it again.Original Review: I think all refrigerators today are junk and this one is no exception. Shortly after the warranty expired, it needed over $200 in repairs (circuit board). It has a top freezer and bottom fridge. When you put your hand over the space between them, you feel the cold air escaping. Most of the poorly constructed shelves have cracked but I have been told this is standard on any brand of fridge. The shelves cost almost as much as a new fridge.

We purchased our LG French door refrigerator in September 2007. We thought it was a wise purchase but after 6 1/2 years we have found out its not. The refrigerator part of the unit was getting warm so we called for service, we only had to wait 2 days for the service man to arrive, okay not bad. I guess they are busy, and after reading the reviews here I guess they are. Anyway the service man told me it looks like the control board is bad and it would cost $300.00 to fix it. He recommended that we kick the fridge to the curb and buy a new one, he told me that the compressor would only last between 7-9 years and since we are so close to that time it would not pay to repair it. I really appreciate his honesty but I dont think I will buy another LG refrigerator, I dont think that spending $200.00 a year is worth it on a LG.

I turned the unit off. I was scared the unit was going to catch my house on fire. I called LG to have them service it. I already had the date and time and company they were sending. Then the customer service guy informed me the warranty had already expired 6 days ago. Really! This company could not honor it - after buying a refrigerator and stove from them. I am really disappointed with them. Let’s see if I buy another product from LG or even recommend them to my family are friends.

Local guy came out but out of warranty. Also they are closing or store so they couldnt service. Sears guy told me it was the compressor and that LG AND SAMSUNG both knew had bad compressors but they would sell them anyway. It is now four weeks later and service tech due out next week. After reading reviews I do not hold out much hope. I will never every buy LG again. Every LG appliance Ive purchased has been crap. Just replaced a 3 year old washing machine too.

LG Sensor Dry - The plastic frame on the lint screen never fit right, clothes get caught on it and spin around each other and stretch out of shape. I had to hang dry any tank tops and anything with spaghetti straps. I just dried a load of clothes and 3/4 of the load came out in one large twisted heap -- 3 pairs of dress pants, 6 shirts, two pairs of sweat pants which were worn once and one nightgown is totally stretched, ripped and ruined. If you are considering buying LG dont!!! We also own the partner front loading washing machine and it is ruining our water pipes. Weve lived in this house for 20 years and never had to get pressure relief valves before to stop the hammering in the pipes caused by this washing machine. Life may be great for this company, but they should change the name of this company to LS -- life sucks!!

I purchased my LG refrigerator Lfx31925sw/00 in 2012, paid 2700 bucks for it from Best Buy. After about six months I started to have problems with it. I called LG and they did some repairs on it. It worked for a little while. They had to come back out to do more repairs. This went on several times until the warranty ran out so I had to purchase a second warranty and finally LG sent another company out to work on it. They had several tries at it. Now that warranty is up and still not fixed I try to call customer service. They put me on hold over one hour, they never answered the phone. And to top it off this refrigerator is involved in a class action suit which hasnt helped me. Here it is 2017. This Refrigerator is a Korean company. Must be North Korea. I bought an LG washing machine model WFT6500 at Courts (Mauritius) Ltd. in November 2009. Serial No. is 908.JWWZ00529. Never once washed clean and so wearily I almost never made use of it during the warranty period, thinking that it must be a machine with very low power and it is normal to wash dirty. However, after the warranty period, I contacted the seller who wanted to send someone to check but for a fee. I refused because they did not think it was a technical problem. And so I blamed myself and nursed my woes stupidly until last month when I realized that the problem comes from the rinse cycle which is not functioning properly. It only spins the clothes but does not throw the water away nor does it do another rinse. The rinse cycle lasts only a few minutes with no additional water coming in or going out until the spin cycle that finally for the first time during the wash and rinse cycle drains the water away, leaving residues of dust in the clothes.I contacted the dealer once more, insisted that it is a defect that has been there since the first wash but they want to repair for a fee. I find this unfair because the machine has never been up to expectations and in spite of being in my possession for four years, I must have used it a dozen times only and not at all for two years at a stretch during that period because of being away from home. I guess it could be a defective machine that has been sold to our Mauritian distributor with or without their knowledge.

It doesnt just stop working, no, it starts dumping water when the ice tray is still full of ice and I find a big puddle of water on the kitchen floor, an inch of ice in the dump spout, the ice bin is one solid block of ice. This is the chunkiest, clunkingest, noisiest refrigerator I have ever seen. I have to pull the thing out from the wall and turn the water off to change the water filter. This is the worst engineered piece of junk I have ever purchased and I will never buy another LG product of any kind. My refrigerator went out 7 weeks ago. I called LG. They gave me a number to call to do the repairs. The compressor was out and LG covered it but we had to pay $500 in labor. LG sent the wrong compressor not realizing till the wrong one was installed. Called them. They sent a second wrong compressor. Call them. Was told it was dcd and is unfixable. I said my fridge is only 6 years old. They said I had to have my bill of sale. I can not find it. They told me they would figure out some other way to help and would call me in 3-5 business days. They did not call me so I called them. It was like starting all over again telling me to call the same people to come and look at it to service. After explaining several times he was short with me and rude and told me they will not help me without the receipt. What do they think? I walked out of Lowes carrying a refrigerator and stole it. I will never buy a LG product again.

After being ignored for several days, we sent the receipt and pictures of their product that was falling apart. I called and they said they are unable to provide us with a replacement door. Really? Is this is how they take care of their customers? They dont even provide you with options! We were not asking for a new microwave since it is out of the one year warranty. LG customer service is terrible. Obviously, we are not the only ones complaining about the door issue. I see other customers’ frustrations as well. Way to go LG. They should change their motto; instead of “life is good”, it should be “life is no good” (because we do not take care of our customers). The whole microwave function isnt working. Now, we are forced to buy a new microwave oven!

This is the worst washing machine ever invented! The 23-year-old Kenmore I replaced was still running and better than this. If the drum hadnt developed rust spots, I would have kept it. If you want a science project that grows mold, this is your machine. I wiped out the gasket with Clorox wipes, leave the door open when not in use and it still grows mold. My towels smell like someone urinated on them. I have had service out here and nothing is fixed. I was sold tablets to wash the drum with; did not fix the problem. This was the biggest waste of money I ever spent. I want my old Kenmore back. There is no quality any more, the dishwasher I bought from Sears is of poor quality too. LG WT1101CW Washing Machine. Dont Buy LG. Warranty Not Honored. I purchased an LG top loading washing machine a year and a half ago after my twenty-year-old Maytag machine made of steel with a solid lid that finally needed to be replaced. Within months of buying this machine, the plastic around the hinges of the lid began to crack and started to crumble at the hinges. The plastic is not holding up to the opening and closing of the lid on my unit. I had the lid and hinges replaced four times for the same problem. Once the plastic around the hinges starts to crack and disintegrate, the lid cannot close, and you cannot use the machine at all. Customer service assured me after the fourth repair for the same problem that the unit would be replaced as defective. The plastic on the new lid after 5 months is starting to crack again, so I called and found out that my case was directed to the Defective Return Team and they rejected the claim. They told me it has been over a year since the purchase and it is now out of warranty. I have been repairing this brand new machine within a few months of purchasing it. Home Depot says its out of their hands, its up to LG but LG has not adhered to their own policy that after three visits to repair the same problem, it is considered unrepairable and is considered to be a defective machine and will be replaced. They will now send a technician out for a fifth time for the same repair. Its not fixing the problem! The lid keeps cracking around the hinges on both sides. Poor quality, poor workmanship, cheap materials and they will not replace the machine, and now that it is out of warranty, they may not replace the lid when it cracks again and I will have a machine I cannot use that I paid almost $700 for. After experiencing this, I will never buy another LG product again.

Electric Range model number LDE3017SW. After only using my electric range a couple of times, I noticed steam and grease lines inside the door between the two glass panels. These lines and this film and grease have continued to cover the inside of the double paned window. My range always looks dirty as if I need clean the door windows, but the grease lines and steam lines are on the inside. I called to ask them to come to fix the seal or replace the door and they said they are unable to do so unless I pay someone to come take the door apart to clean it. I should not have to disassemble the door to clean it. The seal between the window panes are faulty or defective. I had my first Maytag range for the first 34 years without anything beyond normal wear and tear from use. This LG one cooks and bakes well, but has this issue which is hard to look at everyday. Also, the top is white and the burner glass top areas already have stain. This is not as big of an issue for me as the streaked windows in the door. LG has refused to send anyone out at their cost when this is a manufacturers defect.

We purchased new LG front load top of the line largest capacity washing machine (and Dryer) through Best Buy less than 1 month ago. The first time we used it with a large load of clothes it shook so bad it was bumping against the wall. We called for service and two very young men came as a team, looked at it for two minutes and said it was installed too close to the wall and that was why it was vibrating so bad. They moved it 3 away from wall and left without testing it.Next day, another load of clothes and no change, it sounds like a machine gun and a thrashing machine all in one. Another call to LG and they scheduled the LG expert to come out. He takes the washer apart and discovers one of the shock absorbers is missing the connecting pin and was never hooked up. He orders the part and returns a week later to make the repair. While he was here we complained about the second problem with this washing machine which is the water valves that open and close to allow hot and cold water to fill the washer do so in such an abrupt manner that our plumbing pipes bang all the way up to the second floor. His answers is we need to call a plumber to have our pipes fixed. Now we had two other washing machines in this exact location connected to the exact same pipes and never once heard our pipes bang. He also said we could google some third party suppliers of some sort of aftermarket connector that helps with this sort of problem. We should buy them at our expense. Ok we spent $1,200 for this top of the line washing machine and need to buy after market parts to make it work. Round 3 - we called to speak to the LG rep again and explain that the washing machine is still banging our pipes and when it goes into spin mode it shakes, uncontrollably and makes noises that sound like it is coming apart. They are sending another expert Monday. I will not be satisfied until they remove this piece of junk from our home and give us a full refund. I do not know what happened to this companys quality control. We previously owned top of the line LG washing machine and dryer that lasted for 10 years without a service call. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY THIS WASHING MACHINE. Pictures attached for make and model.

We called and reported it to the company and made an appointment for someone to come and look at it. No one showed up for the day we set the appointment in which my wife stayed home the entire day waiting on.We called that evening or the next day and was told it would be the next week before someone came out because the part wasn’t in. The question at that time was what part was ordered because no one had been out yet to see what was wrong with it. Someone did show up the next week and changed the compressor out. Since then the refrigerator makes a loud noise when the compressor kicks on. We have called back about the noise and someone came back and looked at it and thought he fixed it. It still makes the loud noise and we have called again but no one has come out to look at it again.

Im a professional mechanic and electronics tech. I just had to replace a relay and two corroded microswitches due to poor design of the icemaker hatch. Weak return springs prevent a tight seal when not in use, allowing moisture from ice melt to drip down past the hatch and, as evidenced by mineral scale, into the chamber containing the relay board, front panel control board, and the in-door ice and water lever microswitches (!). Observed heavy corrosion on electronic parts and fasteners inside, as well as around the front seal where it meets the metallic enclosure. The front seal, intended to prevent moisture intrusion from the exterior of the unit, instead prevents moisture introduced by the ice chute from escaping the chamber. This oversight exposes control boards and electronic parts and connectors to sustained high-humidity environment (!). Control boards inside are not potted (no resin/silicone/thermoplastic encapsulation) and there are no rubber seals on electrical connectors contained within. ICs, pads, and components on the front panel control board show corrosion and, in my opinion, are not long for the world. Ive added a desiccant pack inside the chamber and a bead of silicone sealant under the defective icemaker hatch behind the front bezel to mitigate the design oversight and hopefully extend the life of my investment. Rust at the bottom of the front control panel may be an indicator of the problem described above on your unit.Additionally, the linear compressor used in this fridge is currently the focus of a class action lawsuit (which I am not party to). LG asserted that these units can have up to a 20 year lifespan (avg of 14 years) but have had a significant portion of units fail starting around the 3-year mark. My compressor is still functioning for now but Ive purchased a 3rd party wireless temperature monitoring panel with sensors for both compartments to mitigate the risk of foodborne illness associated with a failing compressor. This appliance is at best, a very poor investment. At worst, it is a hazard to my wife and children. Moisture intrusion behind the front panel presents a reliability problem, a mold hazard, and a fire hazard due to the line voltage connections within. The poor design choices make it clear that the engineers involved with the project had some serious deficiencies in failure mode analysis, fail-safe design, and keeping with good engineering principals. Ive experienced similar design oversights involving moisture control with other LG products Ive owned and maintained (LG window unit AC, LG Waveforce washer and dryer) and will never purchase another LG appliance. Longevity is important to me, but does not seem to be a priority for LG. My wife thinks it looks pretty in our kitchen, so theres that I suppose. Hopefully the compressor fails and I can get this stylish lemon out of here soon..

I purchased a L.G. refrigerator model # LFXS29766S approximately 5 years ago. 2.5 years after purchase it completely failed and stopped working. We waited approximately 3 weeks for it to be prepared and life went on. Now 2 years later the same problem has occurred and my family is once again without a refrigerator. This time however dealing with the customer service department had been horrible. I have now been without a working refrigerator for 3 weeks and have not heard from L.G. once. I have spent several hours on hold on many days just trying to get some help. Completely disappointed with the products life span. You cant sell a product for nearly 3,000 dollars and have it not work. Based on the current situation I find it difficult to believe that I will EVER purchase a L.G. product again. Currently Ive been placed on infinite hold because I asked to speak with a supervisor. Thanks Shawn/Sean # ** for your amazing lack of help and waste of time.

Its a terrible design flaw. Rust is on the hinges where no chlorine or detergent goes. I have pictures... Paint will not help. The entire under part of the area above the bin but connected to the place where you put detergent or bleach is completely rusted out and the metal is so bad. I can stick my finger through it. They sent me an email... that the rust in your washing machine bleach dispenser is a result of the detergent or other additives being spilled that have not been wiped clean. Chlorine bleach is corrosive and will erode the finish if not cleaned immediately. If any spills should happen make sure to wipe it up immediately and the area cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth. Touch-up paint maybe use to cover the area, if not service may be necessary. How could LG design a washing machine that uses bleach and detergent knowing full well that it might get on areas besides the stainless bin and get under this area and all around the entire top of the machine and rust out. That is what happened.

Went to Lowes where I bought my LG refrigerator to buy a replacement filter and they said everybody was out of the water filter I needed. Sick of this, they told me the same story last year. They ended up giving me one of their filters from a demo on their floor after I insisted they do so. Im telling everybody NOT to buy LG cause of this problem. Model No. LFX31925ST/06 is the LG Refrigerator I have. This really sucks. If I had know this fact about LG not being able to replace filters for their refrigerator in a timely manner I would have never bought one. Like I said, Im spreading the news that LG cant replace your water filters.

I bought a LG refrigerator (model no. LFXS30766S) on December 2015. After two years of service the compressor went bad. I was able to get LG to replace the compressor, since it was still under its 10 year warranty although the repair cost me about $250 on labor cost. Now on February 2020 the second compressor when also bad. It is my conclusion that LGs linear inverter compressors are complete garbage and LG shall issue a recall and replace them or issue refunds to all customers with this problem.

My experience with LG has not been great considering that it took a month to get my French-door refrigerator fixed this summer. I got this unit because I liked the design. Its compressor went out and I called the warranty company Asurion and they kept telling me that it had to be LG alone to fix it. It took two weeks to finally get somebody to get here. The first person who came out was here for four and a half hours and he did things incorrectly. The first compressor that they put in ended up being broken itself too. So then, they had to order a whole another compressor and dryer again. Then, even though it was delivered to my house within five days, it was two weeks before I got the second technician to come and fix what the first tech did. So, not very happy at all. The techs were friendly and courteous, though. Also, whenever I called LG a couple of weeks ago when the unit was acting up, they got on it very quickly and was able to call a different company to come and work on it. So, I was happy with that. Still, since the repair the refrigerator has been off and on. I have to keep hitting my breaker and resetting my refrigerator from time to time. The panel board will lock up for no reason at all. We dont know why it does that. Also, the ice maker will stop working for a couple of days at a time and it makes noises. Then it will fix itself and go back to working. I wont buy another one.

Bought this LG electric dryer model DLEX5101W from Best Buy in Sept. 2010. Still have my receipt which I paid 822.36 with tax. Called an appliance repair service that works on LG appliances on 12-10-15 because Dryers drum has a thumping sound and dryer shuts off after about 30 min of drying with a burning smell. And will not restart until the next day. Thought it was all due to the thumping. And the lint vent needing cleaned. Found out the drum had a crack in it because of a faulty weld. And the burning smell is coming from the electrical board in the controls. I was told it was out of warranty so I have to buy a new dryer. I will never ever buy an LG brand again.

They sell the LG product where my wife works and we purchased a refrigerator from there. But when it was delivered, it was damaged by the people that delivered it. I was trying to get it repaired and it was a complete nightmare dealing with LG. They w were absolutely horrible and pathetic. I’ve been dealing with an issue since March and it just got completed last week. That’s how long I’ve been dealing with this. Also, those people don’t even know what the part numbers are for their own product. They tell you they’re gonna call you back, but they never do. If I don’t initiate a phone call, I never hear from them. Then they tell you they’re gonna follow up, but they never follow up. Aside from that, I paid for a part to come to me and when it came, it was the wrong part. They’re liars over there and they tell you what you wanna hear. But once you hang up with them, they’re done with you. The only good thing about LG was the service tech that they sent out here last Thursday and everything’s working fine since he’s been out. Still, I’m never buying another LG product and Id never recommend it.

That cover was replaced then I noticed the washer doing the same thing. And the new top put on dryer was losing all its lettering. I was told baking process, caused all the lettering to go away. The rusting of the unit is another subject not yet been told. I have a old Maytag 15 years old all lettering on it. I have never owned or seen anything worse than the LG. If they are so proud of the name it will wipe off also. If I built this washer and dryer I would not want my name on it and I guess they didnt either. A month or so after the 1 year warranty expired, the handle on the crisper broke in my hand. After calling customer service and describing my issue, I was told to go buy the replacement and that was that. Last year I spent over $10K in LG products and getting that response totally blew my mind. I spoke with a customer service rep who was totally polite and helpful but couldnt resolve my problem. Do NOT buy any NEW Washing machine with a Load Sensor! It senses the weight
Do NOT buy any NEW Washing machine with a Load Sensor! It senses the weight of the load and determines what amount of water to add to wash the clothes. Since the Government has to be involved with every aspect of our lives to save energy & conserve water, this device is crap! There is never enough water to wash the clothes and the clothes do NOT come clean. This mandate has sent us back to the early 1900s way of doing laundry with an old wash tub, scrub board & old soap that actually cleans the clothes!!! I cant afford to buy new clothes every month & refuse to wear dirty clothes! Only way around it.... Luckily I have a wash sink next to my washer. As I put clothes into the tub, I run the faucet hose over to the washer & wet the clothes as I put them in the washer. This creates a heavy load & as the sensor weighs the load, it is heavier and adds the right amount of water to wash the clothes!!! I have a glass lid so I can stand there & watch the water level. Unbelievable that the Government tells the Manufacturers how to build a washer with devices we dont need or want!!! Doing laundry for over 45 years, I am bright enough to know a small, medium or large load and able to determine my own water level for the appropriate washing cycle. If you dont have a wash sink, you will have to wash your clothes TWICE! So much for saving water. What morons we have running the United States of America!!

Have this machine x five years. Every year I have to do some type of repair. It has a 10 year warranty but nothing is ever covered by the warranty. This is the biggest fraud in the appliance business. I called LG to repair my machine that is neither washing nor drying, they sent a technician the cost was $300 down payment, never heard from them again. I called again the price was $411, which will cover one year repair minus $100 for coming out... This they insisted must be paid via credit card before they can come. They sent a tech out that was almost 4 weeks ago, no one has returned. I called only to get the runaround. No one will take responsibility. I cannot get any answer, cant get my money back and my machine is still not fixed. Company number (!) is High End Appliance $300. We bought a LG TrueBalance washer/dryer set 4 years ago and have several issues with the washer. The first was when the motherboard went out in the middle of a cycle, locking clothes and standing water inside. After almost 3 weeks of waiting, the board was replaced and our stinky clothes were free. Now 2 years later every single load has issues spinning. It will spin for a minute or two and then flash UE. I rearrange and it does the same thing 2 minutes later. After a few weeks of this I shut it off and let the dryer do more of the work with a complete load of wet clothes. I strongly dont recommend this set to anyone unless do not have anything better to do but sit in the laundry room and watch the washer. Horrible set for the price!!!

We purchased the LG gas range through Costco in October of 2017. Purchase through Costco extends the one year warranty to 2 years and using the Costco CitiCard for the purchase extends the warranty for two more years. We began having problems with the range in 2018. When we would turn the oven on we thought there was a smell of propane - this gradually became worse and worse. We noticed it a great deal when attempting to use the Easy Clean function - the burner would not light and the oven would not function during that process. Then we began to notice a problem every time we turned the oven on. We had the propane company come out and check the tank and flow regulator and everything checked out okay. We contacted LG and after some back and forth and delays the sent a local repair company out in November of 2018. The repair person checked the oven and felt there was a problem with the oven getting the proper amount of air to light. LG support told the repairman they would send an oven valve. That repair was not done until the middle of January 2019. I was told initially by LG to absolutely not use the oven until it was repaired. That meant we went through Thanksgiving and Christmas without being able to use the oven. In between all of this, the owner of the propane company came out and checked the gas flow to the oven since LG was saying they felt the problem could be the propane flow. The propane company did a water column test on the propane from the pipe to the stove and it was perfect. We began using the oven again and gradually problems began once again until one morning when my husband turned the oven on and the house filled with gas. We rushed around opening all of the windows and turning on fans even though it was a cold morning. This time I not only contacted LG but also contacted Costco concierge. Once again the repair person came out and inspected. He said when the oven is on there is a really bad metallic burning smell and it wasnt lighting properly. He once again had to wait for LG to send repair parts which he replaced as instructed. After completing the repairs the oven was still not lighting properly and was shooting gas. He made several attempts to get it working. The only way the gas would light was if he put his head into the oven and blew into the convection opening. Yikes! This oven is so not safe! I was very concerned that he might be injured by doing such a thing. Now we are once again in a holding pattern waiting for LG and Costco Concierge to come up with a satisfactory solution. I am fed up with the situation. Not only are we having these problems but this is not a very good range overall. When baking or cooking anything in the oven it is necessary to keep turning the food every few minutes or the back side of the food will be overly browned or burned. The other problem with the oven is there is no shield on the top of the door and if one isnt careful while the oven is open it is very easy to be burned on the leg by the hot metal edge. I havent had a problem with the knobs on the top being bumped and turned on but when I am cleaning the stove top I usually remove those knobs so that I can clean that surface too. The burner parts are pretty junky metal but fortunately, they are removable and with some work, it is possible to get them looking okay. I am noticing some rusted areas on the burner caps which seem to be crummy cast iron but I just scrub it off. On the whole, the range is a lot of work to keep up. We wont even go into the Easy Clean (its a dud) and the regular oven cleaning function is not so great either. Since we now have no idea how much longer this will go on we have purchased a countertop oven to use. We had borrowed one from a neighbor but since this has gone on for far too long we are appreciative of their kindness but dont want to continue borrowing. I feel that LG is just stalling us as long as they possibly can and only hope I can count on Costco to insist they make this right.

We bought a home that had a completely remodeled kitchen with a brand new LG LRFD25850ST refrigerator (French door style, with freezer below). It is a beautiful LOOKING appliance. The ice maker works. Thats the only nice thing I can say about it. When you open the doors, in just a few seconds it starts beeping the open door alarm. This is not a defect. It is designed that way. The problem is that the time before the alarm goes off is not settable, and it comes on so soon that you cannot possibly put groceries away before if relentlessly goes off. In fact, its darn hard to even get things OUT of the fridge without it going off.Everything plastic on the inside of this fridge is made of a cheap, brittle grade of plastic. The produce bin doors and wide lower drawer have all cracked and broken multiple times in multiple places. The front support plastic edge on the lower shelf cracked in several places and started to sag. Some PVC plastic pipe cement and my own supplies of plastic to reinforce it have kept it in shape, but most people will not be able to make repairs like this and they will end up with the cover doors drawers all broken and coming apart. One day it just started accumulating a big thick sheet of ice in the bottom of the freezer. After months of just chipping it out of there in big chunks before it started to melt at the front edge and run water all over the floor (which it did multiple times), we went away for a week, so we took out all the food and shut the thing off. After 5 days of being off and completely dethawing, it stopped creating that ice sheet. I assume the defrost draining tube was blocked somewhere.Temperature distribution throughout the fridge is very unpredictable. Sometimes the ice cream is soft, sometimes hard as a rock, sometimes the milk is too warm while other things in the fridge annoyingly freeze hard as a rock, or vice versa. The light bulb compartment cracks and deforms. The cover is very hard to get off, and the bulbs are very hard to unscrew. I dont know how a simple thing like a light socket can be made poorly, but these are. And cover has melted and deformed from the bulb heat (and we are not using incorrect lamps. They are 15w small appliance bulbs).

We purchased an LG bottom freezer refrigerator on Nov. 17, 2014, model # LFD22786. In June 2017 we noticed the foods in the freezer had become soft and the fridge unit itself was not as cold as before. We called LG and they sent an LG repairman the next day. He deemed the unit unrepairable due to Freon leakage. Because we had already lost about $50 in perishables and some frozen foods we could not wait for the claim to be processed (approx. 5 business days) and decided to purchase a new one (another LG in fact!) while waiting for LG to determine a prorated refund for the now busted fridge. As we dont live in a very big house we simply could not keep the old one and have the new one and asked that they haul away the old one when dropping off the new one. We thought we were doing the right thing especially knowing the pictures were taken by the repairman of the damaged unit, the back of the fridge and also the tag that is on the inside of the fridge. We called LG 3 times since then and each time have been advised that our claim would not be honoured because we did not remove this tag from the inside of the refrigerator. We had told LG each time that we were not told to remove the tag and because they had a picture from the LG repairman we felt that this should have been proof enough but no. We did not follow their procedure. Well, if we had known we would be have but we could not do without refrigeration for another day. What annoys me the most is that LG will not even meet us half way for reimbursement. I was assured by 2 LG representatives that the only reason they would not refund us is because no tag. I fail to understand this logic when it was their repairman who deemed the unit junk. We are technically out $1600, more or less. Up until now I had faith in LG but with them not even considering the refund of any sort is just beyond me. I am a very unhappy consumer. The place that we purchased this new LG fridge from (Lowes) has offered to take it back, refund us the full amount what we paid for it and allow us to purchase another brand from their store. How wonderful is that??!! Lowes knows that a happy customer is a repeat customer. Unfortunately LG does not. Life is not good.

I have had to replace my ice maker on my refrigerator to the tune of $200 that appears to be rusting on the stainless steel (that has not been treated improperly in any way) and now I am replacing the board on the back of my stove to the tune of $360. I thought and was led to believe I was buying American Sears Kenmore, not a junk new word for Korean junk. This $2,000 was a sale price reduced from $3,600. Imagine how they do this junk, that’s how. Oh well, buyers beware. Read the inside and every tag on every item. I paid Lexus price for Kia quality.

My LG refrigerator broke down over a week ago after just 18 months. I paid over $3,500 for it. I have been trying to have my case reviewed by LG for over a week now but they keep rejecting my proof of purchase even though on top of the original receipt and invoice, the Home Depot store where I purchased it from, issued an official proof of purchase letter. I spent over $7,200 on all LG appliances and I am not happy with any of them. The display on the stove broke down in the first week I had it. The washer keeps stalling when I run certain programs. The dryer routinely stops with an error message that the duct is blocked (which is bogus, we checked it on many occasions and there is no obstruction) and the dishwasher does not completely dry the dishes even in extra dry mode. I have never before written a negative review but this company does not deserve to be in business. They do not stand by their product and use the annoying and false slogan Life is Good. Good for them maybe. Not for the customer. Their customer service is a nightmare. All calls are answered by representatives who serve as a layer of protection so you cannot actually get through to anyone who is a decision maker. If you are considering a purchase of an appliance, please stay away from the LG brand!!! Worst ever. I owned a Samsung fridge before and it worked like a dream and was nicely designed. I kick myself in the rear end for not sticking with my gut when I made the decision to purchase the LG junk brand.

LG will not stand behind their product. I purchased this $1,595.81 refrigerator with an extended warranty 5 years ago. In all fairness the warranty expired 4 months ago but I found out from the repair man that this was a bad model that is no longer made by LG. There is a leak in the Sealed System which is built into the chassis. LG designed a poor product. I asked for some type (any type) of a credit toward a new refrigerator. Ive never had a refrigerator (with repairs) that lasted less than 20 years. A product that last 5 years is unacceptable. Especially if was due to poor design on LGs part. I currently also have an LG Microwave, Dishwasher. Bottom line is due to poor service they have lost a customer for life.

I like that its energy-efficient, easy to clean, quiet, and overall dependable unlike leading competitors. Fit well in the kitchen, not too tall. I liked the water filter and dispenser inside the refrigerator and the spacious shelving that was easy to clean - made of clear plastic not barred plastic. It was top door freezer and bottom door fridge and did not have enough room. Nor enough room for leftovers or storage which is much needed in families larger than 3.

Weve replaced all the shelves and drawers and they are again broken. Cheap plastic parts and very expensive. Stainless skin is very thin and dents easily. I will never buy another LG appliance.

After considerable review, we (in hindsight, unfortunately) purchased a Suite of LG products last year (2019), the FRENCH DOOR LFXC22526S being the refrigerator leg of it. From the day we literally plugged it in, it has been, and continues to be, a disappointment. For a company with a footprint of LG, were appalled at both their lack of engineering and Customer Support. Our issue became noticeable day 1 when the appliance was not cooling properly. The first indicator was the milk, (which was stored on the refrigerator door rack to accommodate a gallon size, was WARM. My wife proceeded to purchase a thermostat to monitor the temperatures within the cavity of the unit. For the limited cubic space it has, the temperatures varied considerably. We proceeded to contact Customer Service, and for a unit right out of the box, we immediately encountered additional challenges. 1- Our first contact was with a Customer Service Representative in the Philippines who spoke Very broken (if any) English. (Follow up calls were just a bad.) For such global company you would expect them to have better matched resources to offer its customers. 2- To have a Technician visit the situation, they would potentially charge a $50 Service Call. (Again, the unit is not even a week old. That policy took some arm wrestling, but it led to being waived.) 3- Fast forward, a Technician did arrive at the house to physically and wirelessly confirm the settings. NO PROBLEM. At this juncture, my wife was getting a bit perturbed and stated a temperature measuring 40 degrees is not only a problem, its a health hazard. The Technicians solution was to recommend we rearrange the contents where items as mustard, pickles, salad dressings, butter.... should only be on the door racks. Items as milk, even though the door has a rack to accommodate a gallon container, should go on a shelf. (Its noteworthy to mention; weve stored milk on the refrigerator door for the last 40 years with no temperature problems!) When we proceeded to challenge that rationale, his final cure all was the straw that broke the camels back... we just havent adapted to it yet. Those remedies are very shallow for a unit that costs ~$2,000 with supposedly state of the art engineering. We cant fathom how a major entity as LG can be so deficient in some basic engineering features compounded further by their shallow offerings for customer satisfaction. We did not proceed with the Extended Warranty they offered primarily due to its cost. Layered on top of that, the manner they addressed the above circumstance further discouraged us as I have strong reason to believe we would likely get the same run with any service calls. That, and reading other reviews, causes me to proceed ahead with fingers crossed on both hands. For their sake, I hope LG reviews these posted complaints as they are legitimate issues they should take some ownership of. I (and others) will have serious second thoughts about purchasing ANY of their products with an LG name plate.

Surprise, I too have a loud thumping dryer drum & visible crack in the drum seal. I called LG. Initially, the representative said, Oh, this is a known problem and there is a recall. Called back with the serial # and surprise, the known recall now requires a receipt, which I dont have 7 or so years later, and LG insists its required to make the recall fix. Is that legal? Do recalls require a receipt. This is the second LG product that has gone bad on me at my expense and NO more. LG is not a good life and I would not opt for their products ever again because as other commenters below stated, their customer service is bad. I plan to call the MA consumer products division tomorrow to confirm if a receipt is necessary for a recall, assuming there is a recall on the product as the first CS agent told me this morning. LGs products are NOT worth the hassle they put their customer through....
