Buy Samsung Refrigerator RF260BEAESR
On 8/11/2010, I bought a Samsung 264 L capacity fridge from Electrical Discounters in Port Augusta. In about Aug 2012, my fridge broke down. No worries, Samsung took about 2 weeks to repair using a local technician. The local technician was very hesitant to take on any more Samsung warranty claims as he has had problems in the past. He was kind enough to replace the timer defroster at the back of the fridge. I lost over $300 worth of food. In the end of October, my fridge broke down again. I expressed my concern as it is a 2-year warranty coverage that expired on 8/11/12. Samsung acknowledged this (apparently noted this) because as far as I am aware, there is only one fridge technician in Port Augusta, hence my cause for concern. The problem - exactly the same as the first time it broke. Again, the timer was replaced after another 2 weeks without a working fridge. I was never contacted by Samsung. I have initiated the calls and contact on every occasion. You can imagine my frustration when on 26 December 2012, items in my fridge were growing mold and my ice cream in the freezer was almost liquid (semi-soft). I refused to believe so I waited a day before reporting it thinking maybe there had been a power outage that I did not know about overnight. I reported the fault on either 27th or 28th December to Samsung. Samsungs solution - you need a technician to look at it. It is exactly the same problem as the 1st and 2nd time. And now the technician refuses to play any further part in dealing with my fridge or Samsung. As far as I am aware, there are no other fridge technicians in Port Augusta. The closest would be Whyalla or Port Pirie. I struggle to imagine them making a single trip for my Samsung fridge only. I have since called Samsung 4 times inquiring as to my status as I have never received a phone call from them updating me on my status. I was informed that a technician would need to examine the fridge and now, after just getting off the phone with them, they advise that a technician will look at repairing the fridge. I have expressed my desire at having the fridge replaced but now that no technician in Port Augusta is willing to deal with Samsung, I am left at a loss. The replacement of a fridge leaves me inevitably frustrated as I am concerned I will be given another dodgy Samsung fridge with no one to repair it. I have made Samsung aware of these concerns to which they note but never contact or update and to be told that a technician is looking at repairing my fridge (which has broken down 3 times in the past 6 months) is upsetting.I have given Samsung ample opportunity to update me and liaise with me but as you can see, my frustrations are continually growing as I now do not want a Samsung fridge. I would like my money back as they are not offering me a suitable alternative. I was advised by email on Jan. 4 that a case manager has been assigned to me complaint but I have yet to hear further from them. Please help me. All I want is a working fridge that I can rely on.
Absolutely the worst appliances we have ever had! The refrigerator and the dishwasher were so bad that after THREE years we got rid of both and bought Whirlpool. Samsung would do NOTHING about either appliance and were RUDE! NEVER EVER buy Samsung!!!
I purchased a Samsung dishwasher, model DD81-01549A_EN a little over a year and a half ago. It is the worst purchase I have ever made. The dishes do not come clean unless you wash them prior to putting them in the dishwasher (kind of defeats the purpose). If you have cereal bowls, forget about finding a good way to load them. The bottom rack tines are at an odd angle and hold some plates too close together. The silverware must be rinsed and loaded working end up, and dont put 2 spoons in the same bin. I followed all of the manufacturer recommendations for loading and running the piece of crap. It is the worst dishwasher I have ever used. A total waste of money. I should have spent a little more for a different brand. Will never buy Samsung again. Customer service said sorry, you must be loading it wrong. Dont waste your money.
We have had our range two weeks. We are very careful when we cook, we do not place anything on the range other than a pot or pan we are cooking with. We do not slide pots and pans across the glass top. Regardless of being extra careful, there are already small scratches in the glass. I dont understand why this glass top is so delicate. We had a Kitchenaid glass top before this. Lasted years without mars on the glass. Very disappointed in the quality of the glass. Otherwise, we have no issues with the range...yet. It cooks and bakes as intended thus far.
DMT800RHS - Dont purchase this item if you have Granite countertops. They only make top mounting brackets. They do not make side mounting brackets. This leaves the dishwasher unstable which continues to cause other issues.. This seems to me to be a design flaw! After reading some of the other complaints, I also agree that there has always been a horrible smell in this dishwasher as well! Very, very unhappy customer!
Have had a problem with water puddling on the floor for some time now. Our Samsung french door w/ bottom freezer, water/ice in the door is a model #RF26VABPN. It is a 26 cu ft unit. At first it was a pretty nice unit. We started to notice small puddles of water every now and then on the floor. This we thought was just a maverick ice cube had escaped and slid under the fridge. It turns out that ice is building up inside the bottom plastic wall cover, thawing and make a small pond under the two bottom drawers. We contacted Samsung customer service but since it was out of warranty...no help. We are now going to relegate this fridge to the garage and buy a new unit and it will NOT BE A SAMSUNG! It is our opinion that their products are very low quality, poor/non-existent customer service, and just plain junk! Our advice to you is dont be mesmerized by the cool lighting, silver-tongued salesman, or the gadgets. These things are expensive so shop wisely.
Adding one more complaint to the 600 plus list of dissatisfied individuals reports seems pointless but I want to share my experience and my frustration to hopefully shake things up, tell the manufacturers that allowing these products to remain on the market, knowing that they are failing and then telling people who have spent anywhere from $500 to over $1000 that they are now stuck with a useless appliance because the 1-year warranty is up is unacceptable. If this doesnt eventually end up as a class action lawsuit which is my next step, heres hoping I can at least deter someone who is considering buying one of these piles of junk to look elsewhere. I am a first time homeowner and was very excited about all the updated appliances that were coming with my kitchen. During the home inspection, immediately a foul odor couldnt be missed when opening the dishwasher (DW80F600) but after letting it run a full cycle it subsided and we chalked it up to probably being caused by sitting water and the machine not having been run for awhile. BIG MISTAKE. First cycle I did with dishes, the tablet was half-dissolved, dishes were soaking wet, murky and dirtier than they were when they went in with an assaultive sour odor to follow when it actually stopped running about 4 hours later. After some troubleshooting with bleach, liquid dishwasher detergent, rinse aid and running hot water before starting the machine with no changes it was time to contact the home warranty company that came with the house. They happily sent out a technician costing me a $100 deductible. He diagnosed that the circuit board was the problem and that it was causing it to stay in rinse mode. Then when I told him about the odor his response was that most of the newer dishwashers have that smell. This did not sit well with me but figured, maybe with the new circuit board the smell and other issues would go away. Part arrived, he came and installed it. Problem NOT solved with no improvements. Called again, asked for a different company to be sent out (and by the way good luck trying to find technicians who work on Samsung products, definitely a huge red flag). This visit, he said that the problem is the entire pump and needs to be replaced. So this is where I am at now and pretty confident that this dishwasher is going to be an ongoing problem, needing repairs constantly with mediocre improvements until my warranty is up leaving me stuck with paying for all technical support and parts out of pocket. And just a quick side note: I did call Samsung about the odor and the condition that the dishes were coming out in. The response I got from the representative was nothing less than infuriating but went like this: she was quick to tell me that the warranty was up and that unfortunately there was nothing they could do. Regarding the odor, she simply said that this was the first shes heard of this problem. And to wrap it all up she proceeded to tell me the proper way to load a dishwasher, that it is helpful to pre-clean the dishes before loading and to leave the door cracked to assist with the drying. Thank you Samsung. This whole ordeal has struck a very bad chord with me and anyone interested or knowledgeable about making moves towards class action please contact me.
This the worst refrigerator I have ever owned and the customer service is no better. The ice maker keeps freezing up and customer service says thats unusual. Not so... read all these reviews. There needs to be a class action suit against them to either fix or replace. There doesnt seem to be a fix for it either just really poor design. What a piece of JUNK!
Have bought (FROM BEST BUY) the Samsung Family Hub Fridge 3 weeks ago. (SERIAL # 08EM43BH300343N. MODEL CODE: RF22K9581SR/AA) We tried to connected it to our iPhone (6) after downloading the apps. It didnt work. We called Samsung VIP Number & they promised that a technician will contact us... to no avail. We have been calling & calling again & after our 10th attempts, we were said that this product is new on the market & that Samsung Technician are studying the case. My question is the following, how can you introduce a new technology in the US market without prior testing it? Why do you want me to pay $4,000 for a technology that doesnt work? Your credibility is at stake as well as your after sales service. Your supervisor didnt even deign to call us back despite our several calls. If this the way you are treating your new customers? I have always bought LG product & I wanted to shift to Samsung! I do regret my choice & I miss deeply the courteous & most efficient after sales service of LG. In short if I have no echo back from you within a week time, I will return your fridge back to Best Buy.
Purchased Model #RF263BEAESG/AA not even a year ago and we will now have it repaired twice in just less than 2 months. It is the French door refrigerator black stainless steel and very nice looking. We purchased the entire kitchen package. First it stopped making ice and they had to come out and replace the ice maker. Now its leaking water from the TOP of the refrigerator on the ice maker side. Nice to come home and find water puddling on your hardwood floor and dripping down the entire side of your refrigerator. Never again, Samsung!!!! Never again!
Do not buy any Samsung products. We purchased this refrigerator with ice maker. BIG MISTAKE. Samsung knows their ice makers dont work. So even if they give you a new refrigerator (Samsung) it still will not work. We have had 4 service calls and the repair only lasts about a month. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING THAT IS A SAMSUNG PRODUCT EVER. WHATEVER THE PRODUCT IS. THEIR QUALITY CONTROL IS NOTHING.
Ive read the reviews on the Samsung refrigerators and Im a little shocked that they continue to sell a known defective appliance. I was brought to this site due to problems with freezing ice under the crisper and water in it. I cant believe that this company continued to sell faulty appliances with the full knowledge that they were no good.I believe I will look further into these problems with consumer affairs. To me, this was fraud. To sell something you know full well does not work properly, is nothing more than scamming the public. I will never own another Samsung product.
Do not ever buy a Samsung appliance. Their customer service is terrible and their dishwasher works about 50% of the time. We are a household of 4 who use the dishwasher (model # DW80F600UTS/AA) once a day and load it sparingly, correctly, and with little soap. We have had a service person here 4 times since we bought it 7 months ago with an added extended warranty and they say they cannot correct the problem which is that the soap dispenser fails to open sometimes and other times opens but does not dispense the soap and other times works fine. They put in a new pump but that did not solve it. We have contacted Best Buy where we bought it. They turn us over to the appliance service they contract with. The appliance service says they cant do anything more. They turn us over to Samsung who says run it with no dishes in it and if it fails to open and dispense soap call us. But, we say, the problem exists 50% of the time, not 100%. Since we are still under factory one year warranty before the extended warranty kicks in, Samsung will charge us if they come out and cant locate a problem. We have spent hours and hours and hours on this. Would any of them be content with an appliance that fails to perform half the time?! I would also say that I will not buy anything else from Best Buy because they do not stand behind what they sell as soon as you are out the door, extended warranty or not. $801 spent on something that doesnt work right and they wont fix or replace.
Bought July 2016. Now 3 1/2 years old. Called because freezer was not freezing while refrigerator still worked. Day before tech came found ice on inside wall of refrigerator. Tech said two problems. Ice on the wall is a little problem. Freezer is big problem. I would have to pay for the little problem and warranty would cover freezer. GREAT worth fixing. Freezer had a Freon leak. Suppose to be covered. After working on and discussing with manager he said they wont warranty it, there are many leaks in copper tubing and corrosion on compression. Said it was due to environmental reasons maybe humidity. Crazy we built our house 30 years ago and put in a Sears Kenmore refrigerator. It lasted 27 years without any repairs, replaced because of color. No leaks. No corrosion. Was still working. My house has copper tubing plumbing. I havent had a leak in 30 years. Other appliances replaced washing machine 1 time during the 30 years and I am on 3rd dishwasher (once to update color once because I tripped and fell on door bending the hinges). In fact I bought the dishwasher around same time as Samsung refrigerator and it is still going. Only the Samsung refrigerator rotted out in 3 years. Not one p problem two problems on this Samsung in 3 years. Search sealant leaks, Freon leaks. You will find it is not uncommon for relatively new Samsung refrigerators.
Samsung range ne59j7630ss. The hot surface indicator light on my Samsung range stays on all of the time, even after many hours of not using the range and its cool to touch. I just recently replaced a regulator myself costing $75 as the ON light indicator was not going off and second burner was not turning on. The unit is just 2 year old and each part is costly to be replaced. Dont buy the SAMSUNG Electric range at all.
I purchased my Samsung refrigerator in 2015 from Home Depot. I will never buy Samsung again nor an appliance from Home Depot. Approximately 6 months ago I noticed bubbling of the finish on the front with peeling. This includes the left door where the ice maker is located, the drawer and the freezer drawer. The surfaces are raised from the inside out which to me indicates rust. As I began my process to complain I began with Home Depot who informed me my extended warranty didnt cover cosmetic problems. From there directly to Samsung who has consistently refused to stand behind their product. Almost telling me it is my fault. Well what about quality of the product and consumer satisfaction? In the business we own, quality is our most important aspect. Without good quality and willingness to stand behind your products you are nothing. No more Samsung for this family. I found Samsung to be unprofessional in the way this was handled and have complained to the Office of the President without results. Stay away from Samsung.
This thing has leaked water for 2 years. Now there is ice coming through all of the air vents. The digital temperature control doesnt work. I called a repairman this morning and gave him the make and model. He calmly advised me to take it outside and throw it into the street. He said if I had a gun, I should shoot it. He couldnt in good conscience take my money in a vain attempt to repair what he called the biggest piece of crap refrigerator ever manufactured. I took his advice and bought a Frigidaire.
Did a kitchen renovation and bought a stainless steel 33 inch Samsung rf197 fridge. 3 months later it starts leaking water into the vegetable trays. The fridge freezes up. Everything inside is frozen and ruined. Ice builds up and stops the fan. After defrosting numerous times again ruined everything. Ice in fridge section again builds up and fridge shuts down again ruined everything. Compressor stops working for fridge section freezer keeps working. I am now on a first name basis with the repairman. Compressor stops 1 week before 5 year warranty up on compressor. Have to fight with samsung for repair. 18 months later the second compressor has gone. Enough is enough. Moved my beautiful samsung to the curb (no marks on stainless steel) and bought a different brand.
The Samsung is the worst appliance Ive ever purchased. The ice maker freezes up every two weeks and it is a known problem. I reported this problem and was told I would have to spend 485.00 to get it fixed. My fridge is now 2 1/2 years old. Samsung told me they would do nothing to fix the problem even though this a known problem. I would not buy any product from Samsung. Stay away for these products.
I purchased a Samsung rf267aers refrigerator 12/01/09. The issue with this unit is the following. We the owners of this unit all (have) the same problem. Lousy design of defrost system allows the defrosted water to freeze in the discharge tube so it overflows into the lower platform under the pull out shelf. When it freezes, it freezes the roller wheel on the bottom of the shelf in the layer of ice and it wont move until you defrost the fridge to the point it releases. There are YouTube videos of how to defrost the coils but Samsung has known about this forever and wont fix it.So every month I remove the bottom tray and remove the built up ice slab. Now I have called samsung several times. Samsungs directions defrost the refrigerator. But even that process DO NOT solve the problem. ONCE unit was turned on again the SAME problem returned. I once inquired to samsung tech people how much it would cost me to fix the problem $700-$800 with NO GUARANTEE. BUT THEY WOULD put the old parts back. Of course I would have to pay for the labor for the install and removal that was about $165-320. Samsung bad NEWS.
Samsung 17.5 cu refrigerator - Wish I had read earlier reviews before purchasing. Six months after installation, the refrigerator quit cooling. Numerous phone calls to Philippines and Dominican Republic and still waiting for resolution. Preferably a full refund so I can purchase a different manufacturer. Poor quality all the way around this company. Buyer beware!!
We bought this dishwasher February 1 of last year and it failed February 3rd of this year - two days after the warranty expired. I am absolutely furious in part because it barely lasted 1 year and that I just mailed my last payment. Samsung support was absolutely no help other than to contact a local repair person. The repair people graciously offered me a price of $150.00 to diagnose this POS plus parts. Japanese companies used to be committed to quality but obviously not when it comes to appliances. Id love to send this unit to their corporate headquarters with a letter telling them exactly how I feel about their product. We also purchased a refrigerator at the same time and as you can imagine, Im praying its made better than their dishwashers. I now have a beautiful piece of junk. Ill be looking for a different manufacturer and will NEVER buy anything Samsung again. This is my first and LAST purchase of their products. Ive been looking at their televisions but considering this purchase I will pass. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME!!!
After 13 months and 1 month after the warranty expired. I called Samsung Appliances and reported that I had a software glitch. After the unit finishes a cooking cycle the LED Panel clears itself out, wipes out the memory settings including the clock and takes 5 to 10 retries to reset it. I purchased this at Sears along with other Samsung products including a top of the line SS side by side Fridge etc. This microwave is a top of the line over the stove SS model #ME21F707MJT/AC manufactured date March 2016. Samsung position is too bad. Out of warranty you pay for our bad software design and motherboard. They will not confirm if this is an isolated or general issue with this machine. Stay away from Samsung. They dont care. From this day forward I will never purchase another Samsung Appliance including the Galaxy Phone. My S7 which is ready to be replaced, also my pending purchase of a 4K OHLED large panel TV will not include Samsung. Going back to SONY. They are a bunch of ** and Issac the telephone rep apologized for my problems but that is all he can do. Youre on your own. I strongly stay away from Samsung. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE CRAP THAT THEY ARE PUTTING ON THE MARKET AND DONT BACK THEIR PRODUCTS UP!
I purchased two Samsung ranges in 2012 for my small cafe. I just wanted them for baking. I know any commercial use would void the warranty, but I believed I would get several good years out of the ovens for a 1200 dollar range. One night that winter 2012/2013 I was sitting at the counter late at night doing bookkeeping. I was baking at about 400-425 degrees, when I heard a loud pop and saw one of the ranges on fire in the rear. I grabbed the fire extinguisher and started putting out the flames when I realized these being electric just pulling the plug would probably solve the problem… I did, and the fire went out (I did have an awful mess of chemicals to clean up). I researched the problem on the internet and found this to be a common problem with Samsung ranges. I was and still am mad. For a large corporation to put such junk for sale, I am incredulous. Ive let the thing sit for almost a year, and am going to finally call someone to give me an estimate to fix, so I can fix or junk. I tell everyone I come in contact with not to buy Samsung anything. The other range is still used never over 350 degrees.
If I knew then what I know now about the poor workmanship on this unit I would have not purchased a Samsung. Of all the refrigerators I have purchased over the years this one is the worst. Ice maker constantly freezing up, water leaks under the crispy drawer and freezes up to a point where we can’t open drawer. Need to remove drawer and chip away the ice to free the drawer temporary until the need to break away the ice again, about once every 3 to 4 weeks. Totally disappointed with my Samsung refrigerator and would not recommend any of my friends or family members to purchased one.
Three years after purchase my Samsung side by side completely quit. I contacted Samsung they told me I needed to purchase their protection plus extended warranty which I did. I have had nothing but hassles dealing with Assurant. There is no one in my city that will work on the unit. I have to bring someone from another city and pay travel time. I have done this three times now. I have been without a working unit since November 2014. Samsung built a lemon and they could care less about my hardship. I have spent over $800 in service fees and it still is not working. I will never buy another Samsung product again nor will I ever do business with Assurant insurance company again. I recommend you dont either!!!
I also have purchased a Samsung fridge. NEVER again. I have had nothing but trouble with it. Even with the extended warranty it is a piece of JUNK. After service call, too many to count, it still dont cool and has to be unplugged and set for at least 48 hours on almost a regular basis. If you call this a good product I beg to differ. I had saved for a LONG time to be able to purchase this fridge and it not only was a waste of my time, but my money. I would NEVER recommend this product nor purchase another. Samsung need to step up and make things right for those of us that have had nothing but problems with this product!!! Shame... SHAME on Samsung!!!
During a heat wave mid January 2014 Victoria Australia this appliance decided to switch itself off. LED lighting on front panel showed no indication of this but the huge puddle on the floor sure did. All of the food in both refrigerator and freezer had to be thrown out. Repair people called, also call to Samsung who told me to try resetting the fridge, long story short. I followed their instructions to the letter, even cancelling the repairman.. What about all my food? Sent me forms, I sent back with photos of some of food on my tiled floor. On repeated phone calls was asked for receipts of food that was spoiled. Well slap me dead, please! Who keeps receipts on food, esp when frozen things could be 3 plus months ago.I was offered $100.00 compensation. I said that was not good enough. Do you know how expensive meat is? Anyway contacted consumer affairs here in Australia. They could do nothing except of advise to contact another govt organization and lodge a claim with them, VCAT, not to mention there is a cost involved with that. Three months on, no contact, no cheque and this last time I or my family will buy anything associated with Samsung.
My Samsung French door refrigerator Rf267AERS started making fan noise and frost build up exactly one year after I purchased. So, it won’t be covered under warranty. I called the customer service, who were glad to forward me the service company phone number and made sure I realized I will have to pay the bills. I wish I have read these complaints before spending over $2,000 for a high end refrigerator that will need services right after the one year warranty period.
I wish I had read reviews before purchasing the dishwasher. I had purchased the refrigerator and was somewhat satisfied so I purchased the dishwasher so that the appliances would match. Both are stainless steel (so they say but magnets stick to the front of the dishwasher so you know its not stainless.) The front of the dishwasher has rusted but in addition to that (this was actually the icing on the cake) the dishwasher has not worked more than it has worked. Always stopping, giving blinking lights, had to replace the level sensor twice, clean out the line numerous time and it really doesnt clean well. The refrigerator while not rusting doesnt drain and a thick sheet of ice gets under the drawer. We have to take the drawer out and soak up the water and ice. Nothing but issues. I hate both appliances and will NEVER purchase another Samsung appliance again. I wont even take it for free. Thank you.
2 1/2 years ago we bought all new appliances and unfortunately they are all junk! In 1 year and a day the microwave quit working. The circuit board quit working. Had to have that fixed. The day after Xmas our dryer quit heating! Another repair bill! We were without a dryer for 3 weeks! Today our icemaker quit! It does not make ice nor can we get the icebox off! Now we will have another repair bill for 2-year-old appliances! I am in for getting a class action lawsuit against Samsung!!!
I am not one to write product reviews but am so disappointed with my Samsung refrigerator. We bought our French Door Samsung refrigerator 2 years ago from Home Depot when we built our home. I loved it!!! Then about 3 months ago the refrigerator showed problems with cooling and the lowest temp we could maintain was 44 degrees and often cooled at 46. We had a Samsung certified tech come out and work on the refrigerator and he found coolant leaking. After a call to Samsung, Samsung told the tech the refrigerator could not be fixed. Now we are waiting Samsungs final decision as to what will be done. With Thanksgiving next week looks like I will be out buying a new refrigerator and it will NOT NOT NOT be a Samsung.
We purchased a Samsung French door refrigerator and are not happy with it. One day, when it was quite new the freezer just stopped working and everything defrosted. Then we had a problem where the water dispenser would not shut off and we had a flood until I could get to the water shut off valve. Now the problem is water dripping from the ice maker. I researched this problem and it is a known problem with Samsung French door refrigerators. Wish I had known before I bought it!!! Supposedly has to do with the auger case. Will never buy another Samsung product.
We love the flex with 4 French doors. We are always short on refrigerator space. We have a little freezer outside for our larger items. The size of our kitchen space determines what size refrigerator we are able to buy.
I am following up on my last post on this appliance. I was promised a callback yesterday in regards to my freezer not working in my 7-month-old Samsung (4-door). I called today and was told by Alicia at Samsungs executive customer relations line that they will not honor my request for reimbursement for the food I lost. She said because the freezer started freezing again, there is nothing wrong with it and it doesnt need a service call. She said that if they sent someone to service it, they would have reimbursed me for the food. I told her to send someone as appliances are not self-healing and there has to be a problem for this to happen in the first place and I am afraid to put anything else in the freezer. She told me I must have pushed a button, such as the child lock button for this to have happened. I have never touched this panel. It is exactly as it was when it was installed. I also wonder why if the child lock button had been pushed, would all the food thaw out? She said they could do nothing for me. No service call, no reimbursement.
Despite the bad reviews for the Samsung slide in stove, I was smitten by the good design. Moreover, online specifications (since changed by Samsung, but I still have the original) offered a broad range of heights to fit a higher counter top than average. For the last 10 months since its purchase, I kept the stove top like-new, wiping carefully with baking soda if necessary, after every use. With no apparent reason, the stove cracked in the middle and NOT EVEN when in use. It happened literally overnight. A straight crack, it was deemed a heat crack (isnt this a stove?) and the warranty covered its replacement. Still, there should be NO excuse for any product to be so shoddy. I have read about multiple cases of other cracks, some considered the consumers fault, but I doubt it. This and other appliances with absurdly short planned obsolecence should be regulated and the consumers should be better protected.
I bought a new Samsung 33 in. W 17.5 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator at Home Depot and within the first year it started leaking. As it was still under warranty I called to have someone look at it. Unbeknownst to me, Samsung does not service my area, despite living only a few miles from the Home Depot where I bought it. Surprisingly, Samsung offered me a refund in lieu of service. While I would have preferred service on the fridge, I saw that this a common problem and there is a class action lawsuit against Samsung for this fridge. As well, I didn’t want a fridge with a defunct warranty. So, I accepted their offer for a refund and had them come pick up my fridge, buying a new one out of pocket to replace it.Six weeks and 50 phone calls later I am yet to see any refund, only a trail of multiple ticket numbers and crossed wires. This process has truly been the most inefficient, contradicting, and burdensome experience I have had with a company in my thirty plus years. Each person has told me something different and no comprehensive steps have been given. At one point recently, I was told that I was going to get an exchange. Well, I already bought a new fridge to replace the one they took and who would want a fridge with all these issues, that can’t be warrantied, plus that’s not what I had been told the entire time. So now I am out $1000 buying a replacement fridge and have no signs of being reimbursed. Many people are struggling with bills and for one of the largest corporations in the world to take advantage of their consumers in this way is truly sickening to me. I can’t imagine what a struggling family would do in this situation, having to spend hours on the phone, and hundreds of dollars out of pocket, not knowing if this corporation just completely screwed them over. While I wait to see if I get a refund or if it’s theft, I can only advise other consumers to stay far away from any Samsung appliance purchase. I advise any retailers to reconsider selling their products, or at the least, warn your consumers that Samsung doesn’t service many major metropolitan areas – even if it’s right by the store it came from. Lastly, I would like to tell Samsung that you can do a lot better. I am sure you try to break a lot people through this process, hoping they will just give up, as most of us don’t have time during our day to call up a 1-800 number and explain to a new person what the situation is, every couple of days, for weeks on end. I am beyond disappointed with this process and I will never purchase nor recommend any of your products or services.
In November of 2015 we purchased a Samsung refrigerator French door BLK SS unit model number RF263BEAESG. In June of 2017 we started having trouble with the ice maker not working, and frosting up. On June 30th 2017 I contacted Samsung and they put a online service request ticket in for me. They told me I would be notified within 3 business days of when someone could come and repair the refrigerator. On July 10th I received another email from Samsung support and it said that my ticket had been cancelled the email read as follows your repair for service ticket has been cancelled. If you need service please contact us and it gave the phone number 1 800 Samsung. Thank you for your cooperation. Since then I tried to find someone in the local area that could come out and look at and or repair the unit. After several phone calls I was able to find someone that works on Samsung appliances. On July 18th a service tech came to my house and told me I had three issues the ice maker was going bad the fan in the freezer was going bad and at this point it was making a horrendous noise and then the fan in the refrigerator in the back that whole unit needed to be replaced. The total cost for these repairs are going to be about $800. At this point I have a really tough decision to make do I dump an additional $800 into this refrigerator and hope that it lasts, or do I bite the bullet and buy another refrigerator from a different manufacturer. I have responded to the emails from Samsung support I have gotten no further response from them. I do intend to let them know what is wrong with the refrigerator and what it is going to cost to repair it. While I understand it is out of warranty, it is not even 2 years old yet and should not be having these major issues.I will never buy another Samsung Appliance and I would never recommend to anyone that I know to buy one whether they are family friend or Foe. This has been such a disappointing experience for me. I can only hope that some attorney somewhere reads all of these complaints and puts together a class action lawsuit against Samsung. Someone needs to hold them accountable for making a product of such poor quality. People buy for the Samsung name because their Electronics have always been number one in the market. Their total lack of customer support has me wondering if I should even keep my Samsung smartphone. I find it hard to support a company that will not support its customers.
We purchased our first French door Samsung refrigerator in 2011 not only because Samsung was a household name and I figured would make appliances that would outlast their warranty period but I also purchased the Samsung because aesthetically they stood out in comparison to other brands. Well I was completely WRONG about the quality and durability of Samsung appliances. Our first refrigerator was still under warranty and had to be replaced in 2015 because they no longer made the parts needed to repair the 4 year old refrigerator. This four year old refrigerator would make a loud humming noise as a result of a faulty fan motor. We made a second poor decision to purchase another Samsung refrigerator thinking they would have improved upon the issues they had with their appliances, but again we were WRONG. The issues were worse, see list of faults below that started in 2016 one year after purchase:1. Massive water leak behind the water dispenser that requires placing a large towel to catch the water to prevent potential slips and/or falls from the water from pooling on the floor. 2. The ice maker only makes a cup full of ice per day even when pressing the Power freeze button. 3. The refrigerator intermittently makes a loud humming noise.See list of actions taken to address the issues our 1 year old refrigerator is having: 1. Defrosted the ice maker by keeping doors open and using a hair dryer in order to speed up the process. 2. Sealed the crack between housing of the ice maker and the refrigerator with waterproof silicone. 3. Purchase 2- 10 lb bags of ice from Buckeyes twice a week. 4. Keep refrigerator door open for extended periods of time in order to stop the humming noise (yes we had food in it at the time) and speed up the defrost process. Even after initiating our own interventions, we continue to have problems with our Samsung refrigerator making a loud intermittent humming noise, making ice, leaking large amounts of water behind the water dispenser. The reason Im taking the time out of my busy day to share with you these issues is because Im disappointed in this product and to prevent you from making the poor decision of purchasing a Samsung refrigerator. Its not worth the money. There is absolutely no reason why anyone should spend thousands of dollars on anything that is proven not to last over 5 years. When I was growing up, my mother kept the same refrigerator from the time I was 10 years old until I graduated college. Of course repairs were required but as stated earlier, this is my second Samsung refrigerator in the span of 4 years.Yes we have a warranty but this refrigerator began to have problems a year after purchase, my expectations of Samsung setting a higher standard when it comes to quality appliances has not been met. We have had to spend time troubleshooting issues on a refrigerator that cant go the 5 year distance and take time from work to have it repaired. BUY SMART BY NOT BUYING A SAMSUNG FRENCH DOOR STAINLESS STEEL REFRIGERATOR.
Just reviewing to save people heartache and time. Do not buy Samsung refrigerators. Amazing that they get away with manufacturing junk, basically. And they charge a lot for it. We’ve had our Samsung model RF28HMEDBSR/AA for 4 years. The ice makers freezes up constantly. The fans freeze. I’m forever using a hairdryer to fix the problem. Insane. The fans get full of ice and make a loud disruptive noise. Get the hairdryer again! Will probably cut out losses and buy a new refrigerator. This Samsung isn’t worth the headaches. Do not buy Samsung. My sister bought a similar model and has similar problems.
My dishwasher, another model Samsung (they all seem to have similar issues), worked great first 6-8 months. Then would shut off and need to be restarted every few loads. Then every load, eventually several times for each load. Dishes were not clean, but covered in tiny particles of crud. Started to smell, with black gunk around front seals. Had to remove spray arms and filter to clean them out which appeared to resolve the multiple starts issue, but even after cleaning the seals, not the dirty wet dog smell. Began pre-washing everything before loading, to the point that a dishwasher was somewhat redundant. Dishes came out dirtier than they went in, requiring rewashing. Handle grips on front of racks began degrading and uprights on racks started breaking off. Within three months the multiple starts per load started again, and quickly reached the point of not running at all. Dismantled again, also cleaning out float on side of machine under metal panel. Took off handle grips which were leaving a sticky residue on anything (including hands) that touched them. Crud stuck under there too. Job took over an hour. A repairman may have done it faster, but the only $ I will resentfully sink into this clunker now is the dump fee.Its not yet two years old, does not clean dishes, is falling apart, and smells disgusting. It needs about an hours work outside the cabinet every few months to clean out minor amounts of well rotted compost that it is incapable of disgorging on its own. And it still smells like a dirty wet dog. I think these machines might be a health hazard in addition to being utterly useless. Will never buy a Samsung appliance again. They should stick to phones.
To Tim Baxter or anyone else that cares about Samsungs reputation and how their terrible customer service and falsely advertised products, dont settle well with the consumer. I am at my wits end with your company and its appalling customer service! For 4 months now Ive tried to get your company to take ownership for a refrigerator it sold us, that claimed to offer a Flex Zone with 4 temp settings, all the way down to -1 Celsius. Tim, we both went to High-school at took basic science classes, but the techs and people in your Office of the President all seem to have either not taken the class or failed it. My wife and I have had food spoiling in that drawer for months, because it will NOT freeze as it should given that 0 degrees Celsius is freezing, therefore anything colder that zero is at least capable of freezing. Well nothing freezes in that drawer. Ive had 3 service people come out, who all are being told the same thing from Samsung that I am being told, which is that the refrigerator works as it should. Tim, please explain to me how its working as it should when food does not freeze in a drawer that offers a -1 degree Celsius setting. Your office of the president, at 888-480-5675 and Loshanda at extension **, has ignored 7 messages I have left for her with the receptionist, and two voicemails. She literally has decided to blow me off. The last time she called me, before Thanksgiving, she told me that Mr. ** its not supposed to freeze, since -1 degrees Celsius is also 29 degrees Fahrenheit, therefore its 29 degrees above freezing... I was without a reply for a few minutes. How do you politely tell a person that they dont know that Celsius and Fahrenheit both measure temperatures, and that -1 Celsius and 29 Fahrenheit are the same below freezing temperature. After Loshandas obvious failure to care to call me back anymore, because she believes its working fine, I called and asked for a supervisor in your Office of the President. Ive been told twice there is no such thing, that I just have to leave a message for Loshanda to call me back. I’ve done that once a week for 7 weeks. I’m exhausted and utterly disgusted with the horrible service from your company. I dont know which is worse, that your techs believe -1 degrees Celsius is not supposed to freeze the food, or that your Office of the Preside could care less at this point, after my wife and I have lost hundreds of dollars in food that has gone bad, Ive wasted hours with techs coming out telling me the same thing, and more hours on the phone talking to your general Samsung support line that offers no help but to suggest I have yet another tech come out, who will waste all our time again. Tim, my wife and I own thousands of dollars in merchandise from you all, from phones, to BluRay players, to TVs etc. Is this how I should be treated? I want Loshanda at least reprimanded or at best fired, and I want and deeply hope for your help in resolving this matter. Your refrigerator does not do as it was sold to do, its that simple. And I need this fixed. Please Tim. Ive left voicemails for others in your Office of the President, they too have ignored me.
My oven from Samsung is top notch. It’s a gas stove, have not had any problems out of it. The eyes lights on a dime. And the self cleaning oven is the best. The timer on it works Perfect. I will recommend Samsung product to anyone.
I purchased the gas stove because it was Samsung & I knew of their reputation. The stove was in no way what I thought it would be. My food cooks uneven. Temperatures not consistent. Burners have uneven flames. Top of stove no matter how many times you wipe it looks dirty & easily scratches. This was purchased along with five other Samsung appliances. What a mistake. Does not live up to their reputation. If I had to repurchase these 6 appliances they would definitely not be Samsung. Be smart. Do your homework. Do not buy Samsung. Only their TVs or phones.
I purchased the Samsung refrigerator from Sears 1/5/2012. It was a very costly purchase - $2500.00. Shortly after I had it, the ice maker didnt freeze/chill well. That issue was addressed. Then the ice maker didnt give an adequate supply of ice. Apparently, the computer screen/mechanics that controls that was replaced by Samsung. The repairman stated it would need replacing again because the set was all wrong. The ice is not making ice again. It was replaced April 27, 2013.The make-up of the dispensing controls appears to be set up for failure from the beginning. The ice and water are sort of piggybacked to each other and something within this or the computerized screen will not allow them both to work. I have contacted Samsung and they have not attempted to reach out to me to resolve this problem with their product.
We purchased this dishwasher (Samsung DMR77 Stainless Dishwasher) about 2 years ago, paid $800 for it. It has never cleaned right from the beginning. After a couple of months, the stainless front door panel started pitting. I contacted the company and they tried to make it my fault. Now, the motor is making this high pitched noise that is very irritating. I suspect the motor bearings are shot. I replaced a 10-year-old Maytag machine that was still working fine. My wife wanted to remodel the kitchen and go with stainless, so we bought a Samsung stainless refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave. This dishwasher is a piece of junk and I am going to toss it and buy a Whirlpool for about 40 percent less than I paid for this junk. I will never buy a Samsung product again.
3 year old Samsung French door style fridge which I paid $2300 in 2013. The door ice maker has had issues from day one. Freezes up on a weekly basis and drips. The fridge just started leaking water into area under crisper and found it to be a well documented issue on the internet of freezing behind the wall panel. It is a design flaw that Samsung refuses to accept ownership of. Samsung support was unhelpful and simply said if problem resumes to seek service. Really? PLEASE RESEARCH SAMSUNG ISSUES BEFORE BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS. This problem accompanied with other Samsung appliance failures assures me that if you buy their stuff you are on your own.
My fridge did the same thing as been reported about these type refrigerators, the back panel freezes in fridge side and stops cooling fridge. After multiple times pulling back panel off and defrosting with a hair dryer, I did all my research online in forums and here was what I did to solve problem. I found out it was a fairly inexpensive defroster type electrical thing that clipped onto the defrost line behind the panel where the fridge side cooled, so I replaced it. When the fridge goes into defrost mode is when the pooling water problem happens, because the drain hole is frozen but if you take a piece of clothes hangar and wrap one end around the defrost line and allow the other end to drop into drain hole, it will heat up and keep drain hole from freezing. It has been working for about 4 years now without any problem, except only produces crushed ice.
I purchased my Samsung refrigerator (Side By Side # RS267TDRS) in July 2012. It has been serviced 7 times since then for the same issue. The refrigerator continues to have ice build up and fails about every 6 to 8 months. I purchased at Sears and got the service contract. What a mistake. Samsung refused to back up anything. I own multiple Samsung appliances ranging from the Refrigerator to TVs to DVRs. They have lost me as a customer. I would never buy another of their products. I have called their Customer Service and get the same lame excuse: You are out of warranty. Well I wouldnt be out of warranty if it hadnt been fixed by Sears under the service contract the first time. I have spent over $700.00 on a $1600.00 refrigerator in the first for years of ownership. What a sad, pathetic company.
Purchased this lovely Samsung Range model NE58F9710WS in March 2017. I absolutely loved it. Great for just two of us using the top part and then using the whole thing when family were visiting. Today we had the oven on and there was a loud bang and the glass on the top had cracked and shattered. I am shocked after paying $1,965.58 on a stove to only last almost 8 months is shocking and its a very scary experience. Has anyone else ever had this happen to them for this model number?
Purchased new French door Samsung fridge (RF18FENBWW). About 4 months later I noticed water under the veg drawers. Thinking I had spilled it, I just cleaned it up. Then a few months later, same thing. Called Samsung and they told me to defrost it, raise front up - did that. Then about 2 weeks after 1 yr warranty expired, I need to clean up water at least twice weekly or it runs onto floor. Samsung will do nothing. I have to defrost for a few days at least monthly. Never, never ever buy a Samsung refrigerator. Really feel bad for these people that bought the whole appliance suite.
Fire hazard - burners turn on too easily and I have had many fires looking for someone who has started a class action suit. I have melted utensils and ruined pans and anything else that I put on range.
The first Samsung was bought in Nov 14, 2014. The motherboard went out April 19, 2015. A repairman was sent out 5 days later by Lowes and he says Its the motherboard and it would have to be ordered. 2 weeks later we are still without a refrigerator. Numerous calls back and forth between Samsung and Lowes customer support where I was told by ** at Samsung that she could send a repairman out but this would be at my expense. She also tells me my one year manufacturers warranty was non existent because the date that the refrigerator was made is the date the warranty starts. So my 5 month old fridge was out of warranty. Again 2 weeks without a refrigerator and numerous calls later Lowes comes through for me and exchanges my dead Samsung for another Samsung. This one had a much shorter life expectancy and expired 51 days after delivery. Lowes again came through for me with another exchange... a Whirlpool. I have sent a letter to Samsung and described in great detail the problems that I encountered with the first refrigerator and have yet to hear from them. Had I known the 2nd one was also going to lay down so quick, I would have saved myself a stamp.
I guess I will see how serious Samsung is about customer service tomorrow. My about 2 year old dishwasher has some plastic supports for the upper rack that are breaking down. In looking over customer complaints about the same model I guess it’s a real common problem. Some of the customers are saying that the brackets need to be replaced 2 OR 3 TIMES A YEAR, REALLY. How could this be, cant SAMSUNG come up with a QUALITY part that will last? HOPING I HEAR FROM SAMSUNG TOMORROW. I DONT understand why this model number cannot be flagged and the part just shipped without another 15 to 20 min on the phone. Sure hope they dont try to charge me for their poor choice in material and design. And I hope the part they do have to replace it with is not the same as the one that is breaking down. VERY UNHAPPY.
Purchased a Samsung French Door refrigerator from Lowes in 2012. The ice maker stopped working and since we had an extended warranty for two additional years, they sent out a technician. The technician removed the old ice maker and ordered a new one. When the new one came in, the technician shoved, pushed, and tried to force the replacement in place and after 30 minutes, decided it was not the right one so he was to order yet another one. The compressor died the next day and the technician stated that it was an issue that we had to deal with Lowe’s for. Of course, we really had to deal with Samsung. We jumped though all the hurdles and did not get full replacement value so we ordered an LG instead.
We purchased a Samsung refrigerator (Model # RF323TEDBSR) less than two years ago and have had three repairs. The latest annoyance was the loud cycling sounds that came from the unit and stopped temporarily when you opened the door. The tech said it is the fan icing up in the back of the unit and replaced. Here we are about 8 months later and it starts up again. Not impressed with Samsung appliances and will never purchase one again.
My Samsung SMH9187ST microwave stopped working in less than three years. Now out of warranty, Samsung was of NO help. It is not worth repairing given a minimum $150 labor fee for a unit that cost just over $200. I regret having purchased a Samsung refrigerator/freezer. Im keeping my fingers crossed on that one. Bottom line, avoid Samsung microwaves like the plague.
I called the customer service line to request a new handle for my microwave. They called back and I requested that they send me an email with the companys name that I can contact. Its been 2.5 weeks and I have received the email. My sister in law has an oven from them and she had horrible customer service trying to get it fixed. After a month it still isnt fixed.
I have the Samsung Elite gas 6.3 cubic feet flex Duo Range. The functionality of this range is top-notch, Bakes like a dream.. My only complaint and its a huge one because of the price point of this Appliance is the shoddy finish. The enamel cooktop started peeling within 6 months and the black stainless isnt really stainless. Its a cheap black/paint coating that has been flaking off after about 3 months. It is a really beautiful stove, but very aware of the lack of durability if you are buying it for aesthetic reasons. It is pretty pricey to have repair service for finish repair.
We bought the Samsung double oven glass top electric range in January 2016 for a bargain basement price of $1719, plus tax. Because they discontinued basic black we had to get the black stainless. In November, while wiping the upper oven door with a damp cloth some of the black stainless finish peeled off. I called Samsung Customer Service, if you want to call it that. They asked me to send a picture of the damage. They got back to me and called it consumer wear. I said, no its a defective finish. We went back and forth and finally, on December 5th they called me back and said its cosmetic and not covered. I said, the finish failed, and am I supposed to look at this for the next 8 years. They said I can get it fixed myself. In addition, the oven racks are so flimsy that when I had a 15 pound turkey in the oven the rack collapsed. Fortunately the other rack was right below and I was able to fix it. You have to remember to keep the pan in the center of the rack. Dealing with Samsung is worse than dealing with the VA. I will never buy another Samsung appliance. After reading the other reviews, Im really looking forward to some of the other problems I can have.
I have a Samsung Range that broke down after only 2 months. I set the self clean for 3 hours. After 2 hours, the touch screen died, and the oven door has been locked ever since. I called Samsung for repair service that evening and was told I would be contacted the following morning for a service call either that afternoon or the following day. Neither happened, so I called Samsung back and got the royal run-around of scripted answers. This time I was told the repair person would contact me within 24 business hours to set up a repair time, and that the repair people are very busy. Well that is because Samsung sells inferior products! I asked for a supervisor, and was put on hold for 20 minutes, no answer, so I finally hung up. I went on the website and entered my reference number, only to find out that I am supposedly scheduled for repair on 11/12. That is 9 days after I called for repair! No one has contacted me to confirm this yet. I emailed the service person to request a sooner day, but I do not expect to hear back from them, nor do I expect them to even show up really. If I could throw this range away I would, but it is so new and I cannot afford to replace it. I will NEVER even consider buying anything Samsung during my lifetime again. They do not care about their products or the consumers who buy them. BEWARE!
Samsung’s idea of customer service is “3 – 5 business days and someone will call you”. At this point we have been without a functioning refrigerator (I consider a refrigerator to be a basic need in this day and age) for 14 days! The specifics are below: A service tech was sent to ‘fix’ the problem one week after we first reported the problems to Samsung. The fix/part replacement (2 different parts were tried) did not correct the problem. The Tech talked with Samsung’s technical support from our home and said, My office will call you on Monday (9 days after the report to Samsung). On Wednesday (11 days after the report to Samsung) the same tech is back with a 3rd different part. Still not the answer. At this point, it is determined that we need a whole new refrigerator (current unit is only 6 months old). The Tech entered a ticket into the system AND once again it is 3 – 5 days before someone will call us. Not, 3 – 5 days and you will have a new refrigerator – NO, 3 – 5 days and someone will talk with you about what can be done. Now it has been exactly 14 days since our Samsung refrigerator has worked. Still we have not received a call from anyone from Samsung regarding the solution to our problem. This was my first Samsung refrigerator; it will be my last.
Dishwasher doesnt clean dishes. Also had fridge. Over $2000 freezer froze so bad it wouldnt open anymore. Finally recd voucher for new fridge. Bought a Frigidaire. Works great. Refund after buying fridge: $900. They need to stick to electronics.
In Oct. of 2014 we went to P.C. Richards to buy kitchen appliances. The salesman we had told us how great Samsung is. He went on to say that he has the exact appliances and his wife loves them. It was the biggest mistake of our life. Lesson we learned not to buy what the salesman suggest you buy. Okay here is what happen. We bought a French door Refrigerator which the ice maker stopped working but I went on YouTube to fix it and it worked. The seal on the door keeps getting ripped from opening and closing. My stove keeps burning my food and pans and I have it on the lowest setting. I cannot leave my stove running if I go out. My oven took a long time to cook. They came out twice to fix it. The heat element wasn’t working right so they changed it. When the man fixed the element he leaned on the oven door which then bent it. My microwave oven turned itself on and the light came on. We went out and when we get home the microwave oven which is also a conventional oven was reading 350 degrees. No one turned it on because no one was home. Three days after the warranty expired the microwave died. Now my dishwasher which is the only item left under warranty is not washing my dishes properly and my dishes are wet when it’s done. I always bought cheap appliances and they lasted a very long time. We feel since we bought more expensive appliances they would last longer.Samsung is a very lousy company. I called Samsung about their products and they said I would have to pay for the tech to come out and fix the products. They didn’t want to know anything or take responsibility for their products. For $8,600.00 the product should have lasted longer than our cheap ones. We also bought a 65” Samsung TV. We had to have that fixed. If it was just us having these problems is one thing but the company knows the problems they have with their products but they turn their head and ignore the problem and keep selling faulty products. There are many complaints about their products. All the complaints all have the same problems. Why doesn’t the government do something about this company. We are on Social Security and can’t go out and buy new appliances let alone losing what we paid for the Samsung appliances $8,600.00 plus the warranties. I hope someone starts a class action suit against Samsung for selling defective items and not making good for them. One other thing I forgot to say, when we got our stove and my husband opened the box. The glass on the stove was busted into pieces and the part on top was all bent. We should have stopped there and sent all the appliances back.
SE error on panel. Samsung (Allison) said there is no recall and will not do anything about it. After reading all the complaints. People stay away from their microwave/appliances. Cosmetically they look tempting but their quality is terrible/horrible. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I will spend my life with another brand such as GE which I have had for 15 years +.
These are NOT good refrigerators. Have owned a French door Samsung for about 8 years now... Bought it at Lowes for a big price. Had trouble with the drain freezing up and leaking water all over the place, which luckily I was able to fix myself after much research. Now the circuit board is malfunctioning... Beeps constantly, and freezes your stuff in the fridge section... I have tried everything but calling a repairman... Pure unadulterated crap for the price paid. Im gonna toss it and call myself very lucky to be rid of it. Get yourself a GE or Whirlpool is my advice... Anything but this!
Purchases entire kitchen suite of Samsung appliances! Dishwasher horrible order, replaced with another brand. Slide in electric range Have to keep knobs in drawer. They turn on if youre near stove. Have to keep oven locked so it stays off. Refrigerator Ice is constantly frozen in ice machine. Never buy this brand!!!
I purchased a Samsung side by side with ice maker less than two years ago. It went out on Oct 28. We have had a technician out twice. The second time he ordered parts which have been here for over a week. It is now Nov 20 and now they tell me they can’t have anyone come out until Dec 9. I have called numerous times to see if they could send someone out before Dec 9. The last time the technician was here over two weeks ago, he told us not to put much food in the fridge because it will just refreeze and go out. It is such a hassle and expense to go to the store every couple of days. We have lost hundreds of dollars of food that has not been replaced.
I came home from work, and there is a number 1 and an E flashing. I got out the manual which says to unplug for 10 minutes. I did it and plugged back in; same thing. I called the 1-800-samsung and was told Sorry, your 1-year warranty was up on the end of November. I had purchased the fridge, their stove, dishwasher, and microwave all from Sears in Chesterfield, MO. I spent a lot of money. The French-door fridge with bottom-mount freezer was the most expensive piece. I wish I would have looked at the complaints on their products before purchasing. The customer service said only that We are so sorry. over and over but that they will send a repair at their convenience and I will have to pay. it is out of warranty, they added. I said Samsung must know their product will surely fail after the first year is out. Again, I was told I am so sorry. Would you like to schedule a repairman? Please, if anyone is even remotely considering a product of Samsung, rethink it. The beautiful stainless steel dents so easily and will only last shortly after your warranty is up. Dont be fooled. The customer service lady said we have a better warranty on our TV. Too bad it isnt my TV. Dont buy Samsung!
Like many, I am the unfortunate owner of a Samsung microwave (model SMH9187ST) which is now not even 2 years old. It gives nothing but an SE code now, and since the warranty has expired, it will cost more to fix than replace. It was repaired once when under warranty but I should have known this lemon was going to break again. Before the SE code errors, it also had the baked potato function begin to work by itself. I have sent many complaints to Samsung and they finally said, We will file a repair claim, only to be told by the repair person it was out of my pocket charges. They refuse to stand by their product and I am out of luck. This is so very frustrating!
I purchased a Samsung Dishwasher (DW80F800UWS) in January 2014. Within the 1st month it had stopped working and a technician contracted by Samsung determined it was unrepairable. I received the same model as a replacement- still within 1st month of purchase. The dishwasher had worked fine until week of October 7th, when I contacted Best Buy and Samsung. Working with Samsung, it is now December 21st, 3 replacement parts, 3 separate appliance repair companies, countless hours spent on the phone with Samsung, with the appliance companies, waiting at home and the dishwasher is still not working. I have remained calm and polite but cannot seem to get anyone higher than a receptionist to take action and stand by their product. Samsung needs to rethink their phone message that they stand by customer service/satisfaction since this isnt true. In fact this is an outrage. The icing on the cake is that in the most recent phone call from another customer service rep, I described my frustration over the minor inconvenience of not having a working appliance that I paid for in full. I suggested that at the very least, Samsung extend their 1 year warranty since I am quickly coming up on the end of theirs and I doubt it will be fixed. I was told that would never happen nor would a replacement be possible. REALLY???? I am disgusted by Samsungs lack of genuine response. I have worked for large companies who stand by genuinely customer satisfaction and take pride in resolving matters. In fact, the successful companies I have worked at and continue to work at would actually have a senior member make contact and rectify the situation. I am waiting. Hope you enjoy your next holiday loading dishes into your dishwasher, I will be washing by hand- AGAIN!!!!
We purchased a Samsung Refrigerator RS261MDRS Almost 14 months ago. The first one was replaced within a month. The replacement had 4 repairs on it since with the same complaint, which was a very loud knocking noise in the freezer. The explanation was the fan hits the ice build up, which is not supposed to happen. The entire freezer has been rebuilt and the ice is building up again. Which I am sure will result in the same complaint. Mind you, the last repair was done in NOV. Now the module on the front with all the buttons, dont work. Samsung has done nothing but aggravate the customer. They have lousy Customer Service! We were even promised a replacement and they changed their mind and sent out service instead, where he did the same thing all the others did. I am disgusted with them as a company. They stole our money by selling us something they do not stand by!
I purchased of course the expensive model DMR Samsung dishwasher. Within months, this thing was not working properly so of course my husband tried to fix it himself by cleaning it out really good, thinking the kids had just got food stuck at the bottom or something. No, not at all. This dishwasher just didnt work. Well, I call Lowes well to my surprise since I had purchased the item 07/2008 but the item was not picked up from the store until 11/2008. Since my purchase date was July, my one year warranty was already up by the time I called. I refused to call Samsung and have them come out because when I did inquire I was told it would be 65 bucks just to come out and tell me whats wrong with it. So now 3 years late, still no new dishwasher. I just have a piece of stationary sitting in my house being decoration to go with the rest of my kitchen. Thanks Samsung for such a good product and taking my 900 dollars.
Purchased the Samsung french door refrigerator RF263BEAEWW/AA at Home Depot, I also purchased for $150 through Asurion with their extended 3 year warranty on 11/2/14. Beginning on 7/29/16 the ice maker began freezing up thus it would not make ice. I called Home Depot’s Claim number to begin the first of many claims through Asurion. They sent out Ben F. Login & Sons for the repair on 7/29/17. They replaced I think the Auger, they did not leave me any invoice. Then on 12/26/16 the ice maker stopped making ice again. On 12/28/16 A Plus Appliance was sent out and they replaced the ice maker motor and Auger. The Ice Maker stopped making ice again on 1/30/17, so MD Appliance came out on 2/2/17, to repair it by using caulking around the ice maker and proceeded to defrost the ice build-up with a blow dryer then left. Then the Ice Maker stopped making ice again on 4/1/17, so Residential Tech Services Inc. came out on 4/3/17 to verify this fact as per Asurions Lemon Law policy. Which states clearly the fact: After Three (3) service repairs have been completed on and individual product for the same breakdown or component and that product requires a fourth (4) repair for the same breakdown or component, as determined by us, we will replace it at our discretion. Residential Tech did not conduct any repair. Then I called the manager on 4/3/17 of Asurion because I read about all the complaints on these defective Samsung Refrigerators only to be told that this ice maker had to break down 4 times with the same exact problem before they would consider replacement as per their Lemon Law Policy. I argued that I have had 4 repairs done. This Manager claims that the Decembers repair had a defective part thus this repair was combined with Januarys repair not counting towards the so-called 4th time as per their Lemon Law Policy! Then I proceeded to make yet another appointment on 4/14/17, and Tekniton came out to replace the Ice Maker and Auger Motor. He found that on the back of this refrigerator was full of water and leaking inside to the bottom inside the deli drawer and icing up. I then had to schedule yet another repair which took place 4/24/17. Tekniton came out again to replace the Stelian replaced ice maker and auger motor, also repaired water leak, defrost sensor and assy cover evap-ref; Aw1-12 angle-shelf. This tech. found the ice maker was starting to freeze up again but it is still making ice.I called the Insurance company Asurion and spoke with the service manager who told me that on the 4th time, and it must be the same issue that they would send out yet another tech to verify that is indeed the same issue as before and they would consider a refund, replace etc. He lied and told me that each part is under warranty for 60-days. Meaning if this issue happens again within that 60-day time frame it doesnt count towards the 4th time. This is not stated in their policy. He claimed that the December repair had a defective part so that was not counted towards the 4th time. Im still stuck with this defective refrigerator and each tech that has come out have all said the same thing. The ice makers are a manufacturing defect and cant be repaired. This refrigerator due to its constant leaking is a potential fire hazard! If I end up having food spoilage or a fire because of this I will sue! Never Ever buy any appliance through Home Depot as they use Asurion as their extended warranty company and they are liars and horrible to deal with. Despite the fact that you should never ever buy anything Samsung Appliances as they are all nicely designed but have known defects and they continue to sell those defective appliances to the public! I have a horrible feeling that Home Depot or Asurion will make me be stuck with this crappy refrigerator after I spent $2,300 on it!
I have a Samsung model rf197acrs refrigerator that has now been repaired five times over 7 months due to freezing fan and coils. It is under extended warranty and Samsung customer service is unwilling to do anything. A and E are the repair company and have not been able to rectify the problem. I understand there was class action suit for a similar problem.
About 6 months after purchasing and installing our OTR Samsung microwave, the popcorn setting began to burn up the bags of popcorn so we quit using that setting. Then roughly 8 months later (and after the warranty ran out) our microwave started to turn itself off and give an SE error message. After doing this for three or four times, the front panel just went out and never came back on regardless of our attempts to revive it.I went online and began to research the problem and it is very obvious that this is an inherent problem with Samsung OTR microwaves despite their previous top rating. And most of the reports state that the replacement costs are prohibitive and the replacement parts also malfunction. Now we are stuck with a $350.00 piece of junk and it is not even 1 1/2 years since the purchase! Planned obsolescence? I bought this microwave because it was highly rated and because it matched my other Samsung kitchen appliances. Oh well, I cant get my money back and it doesnt make any sense to repair it - so it goes to the landfill. Ridiculous! I wont buy another one, but I do wish that everyone knew about the issues with these microwaves prior to even considering this brand of microwave oven, especially because this is an ongoing problem and Samsung is well aware of it.
Our Samsung dishwasher started leaking one week ago (3 years old). Not under warranty. It was very hard to get a Samsung approved repairman. He comes in and after 10 mins. and 95 dollars tell me I need a new part but the good news is that there is a service bulletin on this part. I NEED TO CALL SAMSUNG AND ORDER THE PART. Samsung, he assures me, will pay for the part. It is a scam. When I called Samsung, they had never heard of a service bulletin, might not have heard of Samsung, not sure. They kept reading from their cue cards: Your dishwasher is not under warranty anymore. They were rude and very unhelpful. I have FOUR Samsung appliances in my kitchen, did not even treat me as a valued customer. When I offered to send them the service bulletin on the part, they did not even answer. DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG APPLIANCE! By the way, the microwaves heating sensor stopped working after one year. Their products are lousy and their service is even worse.
We bought a Samsung range NE595R1ABSR in July 2012 when we were renovating our kitchen. We also bought a Samsung refrigerator and above stove microwave. We arent happy with any of these appliances, but the range is a safety hazard. The first incident happened when we had several guests for dinner. My husband and I were cooking and suddenly I felt an electrical shock and heard a loud noise and the electricity for the whole house went out. The Samsung tech didnt find anything wrong. I was scared to use the stove after that, but started using it again. A few months later I was just warming up something on low heat and when I touched the control knob it gave me a jolt, made a popping noise and the stove shut down completely. My husband had to reset the breaker, but I wont use that burner again or touch that knob. Samsung now says it isnt covered under its manufacturing warranty, but I have an extended warranty with the store of purchase. Although, I think Samsung should be responsible because they knew about it within a few months after I purchased it and they did nothing except tell me it was perfectly safe and nothing was wrong with it. I really dont feel safe with this stove and want my husband to put it in the garage. It also has a problem regulating the heat. I can never adjust it properly to cook food evenly. The burners just ignore the temp control and heat will go up and down erratically. The oven is the worst one Ive ever used. I used to love to cook, but now I really hate it.
I will not buy Samsung again. My microwave screen went bad in one year. Many people had same problem. Now my refridge is having a well known problem Samsung response is, Fix it yourself. These are very common known issues. A friend of mine has an 1800 washer dryer combo. Samsung gave him notice it could catch fire. They sent him a 200$ credit for trade on a new one. No more Samsung.
Bought fridge July 1, 2015. Bought extended plan. 9/13/2016 started making motor noise. Repair came 9/21/16, said it was motor. Part has not come in as of 10/31/16. On 10/28/16 freezer stopped working. Lost freezer contents. On 10/30/16, freezer motor and started running again & got cold. Still a loud running noise. Repair cant come out until 11/2/16. But they still have no part. I am very unhappy. I will NEVER purchase another Samsung appliance again. Am letting all my friends know to stay away from them too! Over a month to fix a year old fridge. Unacceptable.
The freezer side of my side by side refrigerator/freezer started making a really weird electronic vibration-like noise. I finally emptied my ice maker and the shelving and saw that the ventilation vents in the back of the freezer were frozen shut. I imagine that the interior of the fan area was also frozen, so I had to empty the freezer and unplug the refrigerator and let the freezer side thaw to room temp so that the vents would thaw and allow the fan blades to turn without obstruction. I did not have the energy saver mode on. The ice in the ice makers was snow and the snow had drifted outside the container box and down the back of the ice maker as well. I lost a whole day thawing the freezer and cleaning up melting ice. I am hoping that the thaw process will mean that there is no permanent damage to my 1.5 yr old unit, but a new unit like this should not be causing me issues like this. I had my old fridge for 25 years with no issues like this one.
We bought all new Samsung appliances for our new home due to their cheap price for the collection. First warning sign. Not impressed with the dishwasher. Severely pissed with the refrigerator. The French door design of having the ice maker in the fridge section is poorly designed. Though, we had great results from similar concept but that was a Kenmore Elite at our previous home. The ice maker is not as bad as others after a year or two, but we have only had it for 6 months before problems erupted. Ice builds in the ice maker on all the components not allowing for cubes to be made for passage into the ice tray. 9 months into ownership and we are making our own ice. Read other stories and you will find the same issue. Spend the extra couple hundred dollars to get working appliances - you can thank me later.
When opening the freezer, the handle popped off. Upon inspection, the bracket holding the handle shattering in a number of pieces. The bracket on the other side of the freezer is cracked but did not break. Yes, the French Door Refrigerator is 3+ years old, however the plastic should be able to stand up to many years of year. P.S. The Ice Maker fan has made a noise since the day the warranty expired.
About 5 years ago I purchased a Samsung RF217ACRS wide french door refrigerator. This unit has been nothing but trouble since about 1 day after the warranty ended. In the past 2.5 years I have spent about as much money on repairs as on the original purchase. The control panel continues to freeze up, ice blocks the drain, the panel has been replaced twice, several other parts have been replaced yet nothing appears to solve the problem of water all over the bottom of the unit. The vegetable bins always have water in the bottom. Each repair person that has been to the house has reiterated that they intensely dislike working on Samsung however their appliances keep them in business. I will never purchase a Samsung appliance again.
This model of microwave SHM9187 has a ribbon cable on the right hand side where the control assembly fits on the frame that picks up a signal from the frame that causes erroneous signals to be sent along one of the wires. It overloads the CPU and the result is a SE code and the machine shuts down. You need to put electrical tape over the entire surface of that ribbon cable that touches the frame in order to sufficiently insulate the cable. The repair is simple. Undo the two screws on top of the machine above the door. Pop the vent assembly to the left about an inch. Wiggle it off. Open the microwave door. Next there is one screw on the control assembly (right side of machine) at the top edge. Take it out. Pop the assembly from the bottom and push up about a half inch. Lift top of assembly away and rotate out. The ribbon cable in on the right hand side. You should unplug the microwave. When you reverse assemble everything and plug in the microwave, you are back to normal operation. Do the clock set and be happy.
We purchased our Samsung Model RS261M Side by Side Refrigerator in May of 2010. By August of 2013, it quit, after leaving the smell of burnt electrical components. We purchased it from Sears, so we called Sears to repair it. The Sears repair person stated that the main circuit board failed, which would be a minimum of $400 to replace, and that likely it would need other sensors or motors. He stated that the Samsung 26 CF refrigerator is infamous for poor quality and reliability. He stated that the compressors go out often and that many times Freon leaks out of the system, in areas behind the cabinet that makes it impossible to repair. He recommended against the repair and advised us to purchase a Kenmore brand. I called Samsung Customer Service. They said that they would call me back in two days to talk to me. Very poorly made product. Refrigerators are known as durable goods that are designed to last 10 years or more. This Samsung lasted 3 years 3 months and 19 days, one third of the industry standard.
In 2014 we bought a Samsung dishwasher at Lowes. We had always bought Bosch but the deal being offered by Lowes/Samsung was too hard to pass up, I wish we had. I wont bother with the model number because after reading the reviews here it is obvious it doesnt matter, they all have problems. I am pretty good at fixing things myself and our dishwasher is still running, but I have better things to do in my retirement than fix a dishwasher! If you go to Youtube you will find many videos showing you how to fix your Samsung. My advice is DO NOT BUY a Samsung dishwasher! If you own one, make sure you put a cup of vinegar in AFTER the wash cycle starts, (this is particularly important if you are on a well and not public water). If you do it before you start the dishwasher, it will pump the vinegar down the drain upon startup. Also after each wash, clean the door gasket at the bottom of door where it attaches to the dishwasher. Black gunk/mold builds up there, pretty disgusting. Based on reading other reviews, if you are out of warranty and cant do your own repair, take your loss, and put your hard earned money into purchasing another dishwasher.
We purchased our Samsung Induction range in Jan 2015. Within a couple of weeks we got an error message which made no sense but nothing on the range worked. As this was under the one year warranty I called Samsung. After several days and several calls I was informed there were no Samsung certified repair people within a three-hour radius. I called Calgary and was told by a Samsung certified repairman they get calls from all over the province but will not leave the city. I returned to Sears where I purchased the range. They were willing to replace the range but asked if I would allow them to arrange their service people to come out, which they did. No stove for three weeks as the entire electrical panel had to be replaced. Fortunately at this time I purchased five year extended warranty through Sears. We now have issues with the oven. For no reason, mid cycle/baking the oven puts out an error message (silent) and the range does not work. On one occasion it just stopped working without an error message. Thank goodness I dont have to try to get a repairman... Sears will send out their technician. I have read complaints about cleaning the glass top. I clean with soap and water. Dry it then spray with Weimar cooktop cleaner. It does a great job and my cooktop is still looking good. If you have an induction range and you find a stainless steel pan doesnt work, you likely have one of two problem. Some stainless steel pans have additional metals in them which will cause them not to work and the other is a warped bottom. I deeply regret buying this range and given Samsung phones catching fire and the clothes washer lids blowing off... I will never buy any Samsung products.
I have to defrost this refrigerator every month. Had it serviced twice now, its not cooling at all and wait for it...its getting warmer on the inside. This some bull!!
After six months from date of purchase, the fan would go on by itself. I wasnt using the microwave or the stove and would be in another room. Called for service and the technician said it was a circuit breaker fuse. He told me once he fixed it, it would never happen again. Well, its been a year now and it is happening again. Also when the light under the microwave is on, it will go off and on as the microwave door is opened and closed. The only way I feel this junk is safe is to unplug it when Im not using it. Is there a lawsuit going on I need to know about?
First Samsung doesnt deserve 1 star, and Pacific sales where I bought this isnt much better. I bought the top end Samsung appliances because I was told these were great and the service would be much better than the service reputation they have on other appliances. Well I guess better than bad is still bad. Had the micro/oven installed in Feb of 2018 and its been a nightmare ever since. More than a dozen e-mails and same # of phone calls, three times they tried to replace the door, first time repairman brought the wrong item, the second time the store called me to pick up the new door and it was the wrong door, this last time two service men came out and again the wrong door was delivered. Dont bother calling the service center. They are totally useless. My contractor cracked my Samsung cooktop and we tried working with the service department for over 5 months to get a replacement part of new unit to be covered by my contractor (not under the warranty), again it was a total joke, dont have the parts so My contractor replaced it with another brand. I would die and go to hell before I bought another Samsung appliance. Please learn from my mistake and buy any brand but Samsung.
We bought a house without a fridge and went looking. I loved the French doors and the basic layout of the fridge. Looked up the reviews on it and saw all the complaints about the ice maker. Thought that maybe the issue had been fixed. It hadn’t. Barely had it a year and had to get the ice maker replaced. Could only find 1 company that would even work on them. Took him a month trying to get the thing working again. Now here I am again 8 months later and it’s broke again. It has all the updates on it, less than a year old ice maker on it and when talking to the repairman he said that it’s a Samsung. It’s what they do. Tried contacting Samsung when it first went out and they told me that they were aware of the problem but it was past their warranty. They got their money so don’t care much if it works after they aren’t responsible for it. Do yourself a favor and keep looking.
I have purchased a Samsung refrigerator and freezer (twin type). It started creating problems and was not working properly, just after installing. The problems were: 1) The hand hold could not be fixed on the door of the refrigerator; 2) The water freezing unit does not operate properly. So, I called Sum Service Company, which is the representative of Samsung in Iran, but no one was responsible for the problems! Once again, I had called the Sum service more than 50 times. After one month, Sum Service Company replaced our refrigerator with a new one. But the new one has the same problem - the water freezing unit still does not operate. I tried asking other consumers and I learned that the water freezing unit basically has this problem. Although Samsung has a worldwide reputation, I regret buying this type of Samsung refrigerator. In the last two months, this issue affected me both mentally and financially. I request you to advise the Sum Service Company about my problem as soon as possible. If you need to contact me, my email address is **.
Purchased: August 2015. Samsung side by side with dual cooling, ice maker, high end. Best Buy is promoting these with a vengeance. Within two months of purchase, I called because compressor was making hard rattling noise. Yeah, they do that, said the technician. Called a second time about 6 weeks later because noise did not improve, only got worse. Yeah, they are loud arent they, said the technician, but it is cooling, right? Fast forward to October, 2016. This refrigerator can be described as: 1) Ready to launch, 2) A Mack Truck idling in my kitchen, 3) a flat head V-8 without oil - Granted, these are hyperbole, but the point is, this is a refrigerator guys, not a power tool. Not only exceptionally loud but the thing runs constantly. I know all new refrigerators are low watt, run a long time efficient just like my prior 18 year old Kenmore, but just about every morning after it has been sitting there with the door closed for 7 hours, it is cranking away, seemingly at its loudest. So I called Best Buy because I bought the 5 year warranty. No problem, we will send someone out right away. Guy shows up, Yeah, terribly noisy, well put in for a new compressor. Wow, that is great! Then there was this huge mess up between the Best Buy/Geek Squad hand-off to the people that were going to actually do the work. Two weeks later, technician shows up 10 days late. Thats the noise they make nowadays, yep. If your refrigerator was behind a cabinet, you would not hear all that noise, besides, todays units run at a higher speed. What a bunch of silly excuses. The guy left saying, It is what it is. I say, Samsung has a problem. The noise is not to be tolerated. At this point I am going to see if I can trade this thing out for something else. Noise=loss of energy. I would love to put an amp meter on this for a period of time and see what energy levels this thing is really consuming. After this review, I am going to upload a video of this rickety mess on YouTube, write a bunch of friend and see if it will go viral. Back in August of 2015, all I wanted was a refrigerator that does not dominate my space, it is that bad, it is very annoying, unnecessarily so. Other than that, it is a nice unit and everything else works just fine. In fact, sometimes, but not always, it does run quietly. It is capable of running quietly, they just have a problem with it being noisy most of the time.
We bought our Samsung refrigerator in 2011, and it will be our last as well as any other Samsung product. Door handle broke in the first week, then the ice maker (twice) and I have to dump an inch of water out from under & inside the veggie bins every other week. So far I have spent as much on repairs as I did to purchase. We strongly recommend a do not buy.
OTR Samsung Microwave model SMH9207ST - I purchased first microwave in 2012 at Lowes and within the first year the plastic latch on the door handle broke off and the door would not close. Fortunately I was able to replace it at the store with same model. So now after a little over 2 years the panel in bottom right side that has the buttons for light and vent started sticking. After spraying with WD40 they started working again. But last night that ended when all of the buttons just pushed completely in behind the panel. So now it looks bad and I cant turn the vent off or use the light buttons. Like many others, I spent more on this model ($450) because of its stylish looks and because I thought I was getting a quality product... not so!
Samsung refrigerator model #RF263BEAEWW. It has now been 3 1/2 years since I have owned this refrigerator and the door continues to rust. I placed a call to Samsung one year ago and was told that it is merely cosmetic and therefore isnt covered. I believe it is some sort of manufacturing defect! Its a shame to spend $1,800 on a refrigerator that is rusting. I have had to baby the machine and make sure it never gets wet around the ice maker and etc. to keep it from really getting bad. By the way, my refrigerator is white and not stainless like some of the others that are rusting. I also own a Samsung front load washer and within the first year of owning it, I had to have it serviced twice. They finally had to replace a pretty expensive part. Never again Samsung!! Dont waste your money people!!!
My elderly parents bought this refrigerator and after thirteen months began having issues. They would send someone out but it would be 2 weeks. I told them of their health issues, my dad is a heart patient and diabetic and we really needed something pretty quick. I was also told from customer service you should always have a back up refrigerator. I asked, Who could afford two refrigerators, and where would you put two? The tone got worse and then I was just pretty much angered with his non-caring attitude. Not to mention that only very few technicians are certified to do a service call. I called Sears and they generously offered 3 days sooner. Very honest and tried to offer other options to try such as unplugging the unit for 2 days in case it had froze up, before spending money my parents did not have on their fixed income. We were never told to try anything from Samsung, to maybe save the expense to a sick, elderly couple. I was told that the minimum amount would be around $685.00 for the visit. Needless to say, we took his advice to unplug the unit for 2 days then restart. At least Sears tried to offer an alternative for us. Have lost food/beverages twice, still no refrigerator/ice maker, etc. Enough air flowing to not be eligible for warranty for a big part such as compressor, etc. Will probably be replaced ASAP b/c that is more than half the price it cost to begin with. After two weeks, they are living from a dorm size refrigerator and a Yeti cooler for ice. With their customer service, me along with my parents are done with Samsung. Sad to say on reviews on this particular type, they are messing up at about the 13-month mark. There is no excuse for a nice, new refrigerator to tear up with barely over a year of use. Never again! Very frustrated, not to mention the anguish my parents are going through. When you buy something that expensive, you expect it to last a while. I have had my Kenmore side-by-side for almost 20 years so we have learned a lesson. But the main lesson is all about the attitude you give the person on the other end of that phone. Try to be a little sympathetic to an elderly persons situation Samsung! Going to try to find another one after their check comes the first of the month. Another several days.
Bought A Samsung Refrigerator 4-1/2 years ago. Bacteria, smell, banging noise, temperature went to 64 degrees. I called Samsung. Warranty only covers compressor and seals. Cost would be $500. I urge consumers not to buy Samsung appliances. I have a wash machine that was recalled and my Microwave and oven are also in bad shape and they are also under 5 years old. Currently Buying a GE fridge! NEVER AGAIN SAMSUNG APPLIANCES!! Look at ratings before you purchase!!!
Worst stove range, and worse part is that Samsung wont do anything, the grills are made out of cheap materials and Samsung knows but they try and make you believe that you dont know how to clean them, plus the grease bakes on the grill and wont clean.
