I am now on week 6 and STILL l waiting for a LP to Propane converter that was suppose to be here before 3 weeks. The micro/Conv oven I ordered came in with dents in it AND it is now going on week 4 and I STILL do not have a micro/Conv oven. My kitchen is going on week 6 and due to VIKING I DO NOT HAVE MY KITCHEN COMPLETED!!! This is ridiculous!!! I WILL NEVER buy a VIKING product again. I am redoing a kitchen, I knew what I wanted and ordered EVERYTHING in plenty of time to have it completed BUT I DO NOT have my kitchen completed due to VIKING!!!I purchased all new Viking products from our local dealer Probst Refrigeration in Effingham, IL and here I am still without a kitchen. I am NOT happy at all. My fridge came in with the Viking tag on crooked and still has not been replaced. My fridge control panel came in warped and it also has not been replaced. My fridge has been in over 2 months. I am VERY UNSATISFIED with Viking and I have only used my fridge. I do not have an order number or receipt yet as I still do NOT have WORKING appliances.

We went to a local appliance store and looked at a number of different brands and models. I did some research online. Ultimately, after the salesperson had described the aspects of each, we settled on the Viking. Viking has that kind of a household cache to it. It seemed to have a good track record. My wife is an interior designer so she has helped clients choose their appliances, and the feedback she has gotten has been positive too. We like the looks of the range and the burner configuration was to our liking. However, I wish it had a timer or a clock on it. We had to buy an auxiliary timer. Our previous stove had one and it was quite convenient. We had gotten used to that over the years so that was a bit inconvenient. Also, the dials are black on black, which makes it a bit tough to read. You have to get down low. If there was some contrast to the dials to make it easier to read, that would be an improvement. And the blower that cools the unit down is a bit annoying. It comes on a lot and lasts for quite a while. We had to make a service call because the igniter was not catching and it was spewing gas into the kitchen. We had to call the Fire Department the first time it happened. It happened over the Christmas vacation so repairmen weren’t open, and the one appliance repairman who services our entire county was backed up for three weeks. We had to live with that problem for three weeks and that was very frustrating. We did finally get the technician in, and he took the range all apart, moved the igniter closer to the gas outlet, and we haven’t had a problem with it since.

I’ve known about Viking Ranges for a long time and I like the features of the Series 7. I bought my range from Bade Appliances where they had it on display. The quality of the range is very good and the convection bake is my favorite feature. I use it everyday to cook some chicken for my dog, and it’s very fast. The chicken comes out very flavorful and moist too.

We were looking for those high-end ranges and we looked at the model. We liked the self-closing feature the most and the other brand name didn’t have it, which was why we chose Viking. The quality of the range is not bad but it doesn’t have a lot of features. Compared to my old one, which is about $3,000, the Viking range doesn’t have a timer, a warm-up feature and a clock. We had an issue with it in the beginning but we asked for service and the guy fixed it for us, but I don’t know if it is a strong range. Also, once I roast or bake something, the grease spreads out and I have to clean the oven very hard every time. Mine is a 7 Series Viking Range and it doesn’t have self-cleaning, but my old one has that. Some repair people come with knowledge and some have different opinions. I did not buy the Viking refrigerator from the same dealer, so I did not register my refrigerator but they have a warranty for 10 years. The handle came off after less than a year of using the refrigerator and it did not come with any instruction to fix the handle but I figured out how to fix it. After I fixed it, we saw something wrong with the Viking Range. So, we asked the guy if they have a special tool for that or just a screw. He said no but I figured it out myself.

My son has a Viking range and I also saw it in other homes. I was pleased with it and I got one, too. I went to a company thats a distributor of Viking Ranges and their reps were very good and patient, so I ordered from them. Their salesman was not having to win me, but he kept in touch with me and was very good. The range was installed a couple of months ago and I love its sturdiness. I like its quality and burners, too. Its features are really simple. However, they set the igniter too far away and it wasnt adjusted properly from the factory. So, I had to call them to adjust that and my experience went smoothly. I would recommend Viking Ranges.

When we first took delivery of our Viking stove (double oven, 4 burners and grill) the larger of the two ovens didnt work and the computer motherboard had to be replaced. The company servicing it was great so the impact was minimal. Within the first few months, the black finish on the grease trough, although never used, started to peel, exposing the shiny metal underneath. Since it is so visible on top of the stove, I reached out to Brigade (the new name for Viking in Canada) for a replacement part, under warranty. After much waiting on hold, and back and forth emails, they agreed to send the replacement part.I waited five months only to find out that the order was never placed and a new company has taken over their parts distribution. They have informed me that since my warranty has now expired, they will SELL me the part at a discount. How nice! This stove, which looks beautiful, was meant to be a once in a lifetime purchase. Not only is it showing early signs that it wont stand up to normal use, the lack of customer service is disheartening! I wish I loved my stove but I dont and would not recommend a Viking/Brigade due to the poor customer service.

Bought a complete set of Viking products including an oven, dishwasher, ice maker and refrigerator. The refrigerator was damage when shipped and needs two handles and outside skins. Well after one year there have been no parts available and no response as to when the situation will resolve. Now the refrigerator has internal issues. I am beyond disappointed in my choice and would like to find a solution to my $8000 mistake and lack of any customer service. Stay away from Viking. They lack any customer service or care.

Weve seen Viking Range in model kitchens and we decided to purchase from them because of the reputation of the range and its looks. We got the range, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, range hood. We ordered them online from Elite Appliance three years ago. We had them shipped to us, and then the contractor installed them. The range and the hood are great. Thats what theyre known for. Its sturdy, cooks really well and really fast. Also, the microwave has been fine, but the hinges on the inner compartments of the fridge broke, but it was just okay and Im still happy with it. However, the dishwasher is probably the only thing that I wouldnt buy again. It had a hose issue, so we had it looked at once. Other than that, we really love the range. It has been awesome and I would definitely buy one of those again.

My wife and I liked the cabinetry that was in the house that we purchased except the refrigerator was a KitchenAid counter-depth. We wanted a new one but the cabinetry kinda limited us on the size because it has room for a 48-inch wide counter-depth refrigerator only. So, we went looking and KitchenAid Sub-Zero had a very solid name. Its made locally here in Chicago and it was a top consideration. However, their pricing wasn’t as favorable as the Viking which we felt had the same features and has as good a name as the Sub-Zero. So, we decided to go ahead with Viking because with them, we were able to save a little bit of additional money. Also, when we bought it, the original kitchen was done in white appliances and we decided we wanted to go with the stainless steel look to get a little more modern look. But it required a new built-in oven and a new refrigerator. And with the deal that was going on for the Viking, if you bought the oven and the refrigerator, you got a free dishwasher. So, that was another reason why the Viking brand stood out for us at the time.So far, its has a very solid refrigeration and it’s got a nice ventilation system that if there’s something that’s going bad, the whole refrigerator doesnt necessarily smell bad. It also has this great little spot on the bottom where you could put a pizza box which, with the depth of a refrigerator, is not an easy thing and it’s kinda out of the way. So, that’s a nice little feature. I like the style of the coolers as well and the fact that the drawers have an automatic soft close. So, Ive been pretty darn happy with our Viking refrigerator. We’d gone to Abt Electronics which is local here and he go-to place in Chicago. We ended up looking again online just to see what was available and found a place called the Appliance Connection. Theyre out in New York and they also sell very similar high-end appliances. And because of what the end process was gonna be, we ended up going with the Appliance Connection. It was over $1,000 that we were gonna be able to save by utilizing them as compared to using Abt. However, the delivery took over six weeks and when they delivered it, they sent two guys. But the refrigerator that we purchased weighs 500 pounds. It’s a heavy refrigerator and the two guys who delivered it said that they couldnt put in in our house. But we told them that we paid for it to go into our house. They ended up having to send another crew out three weeks later to finally get it into the house. It became a pretty big fiasco as far as we were concerned. Also, on the day that were supposed to come out, they said they were gonna be there then, apparently, their dispatch had given them a bad address or the one appointment took longer than it was supposed to, so they didn’t show on the day that they were supposed to come. All in all, I don’t think I’d ever buy from them again. But it was nothing that Viking had done. As a matter of fact, I went to Viking and complained about Appliance Connection being a reseller of their product and the next day, I was getting a manager’s call from the Appliance Connection to try and make things right. So, Viking did everything they could to try and make it as good as possible. Also, the refrigerator is in now as well as the oven. They are both great and Im very happy with them. Viking also has a great name in ranges and stoves and the double oven we got from them fit the spot. It works well and looks good. It’s very nice and phenomenal. The oven and the refrigerator are pretty close together and my wife didn’t want two different looks. She didnt want the handles to be off, for the color of the stainless steel to be slightly different, or even for the grain of the stainless steel to be slightly different. So, when you’ve decided that youre gonna go with that oven, it pushes you to go for the refrigerator as well.

My husband ordered a Viking range for me as a surprise birthday present. The service people that we paid to do the installation were horrible and didnt know anything about it, and so we ended up having to do it ourselves. The range is good and I like the easy clean. None of my stuff seeps down in the burners when what I cook overflows. However, the range should have more of the easy slide racks because the ones that arent are too small for the oven. Also, when the oven is on and I would turn it to low, the flame on the two front ranges would go out. The two outer knobs would also turn with a resistance. So Viking is replacing the oven.My husband is waiting for someone to call him back for our inconvenience. Since were getting a new stove, we hope we can keep the easy glide rack as compensation for our difficulty because this oven is not cheap. I would recommend Viking with reservation. If they don’t take care of the issues I have right now and I have to keep calling, then I will get Better Business Bureau involved. I would really not like to because this is a very nice birthday present and I was very happy with it.

And I figured if I ever remodel, I’d look at them again, which I did. And I bought a whole Viking kitchen. I dealt with their distributor Elite Appliance, and they were really great. I got a great price and we bought the refrigerator, the 36-inch stove and I ended up getting the Viking dishwasher for free. So, that was a plus. The refrigerator has been installed and we’ve been using it for about three weeks now. I like it a lot. I like that it’s got a lot of lighting in it when I open it up. And the separate drawers for different temperature controls seems to work well. It’s counter-depth and it’s got a lot of room in it. I also like the lower drawer freezer and the sliding shelf. And now, I got an icemaker that works again, so I like that too.

We heard it’s a good stove, good company so we bought a Viking. I like the stove. The only problem is if I go close to the stove the knobs turn a little bit, and I don’t wanna lose gas. But this is the only one problem I got. The rest is good. I like the way the oven cooks. And every time I need customer service they come. They adjust stuff. Like the last time the extra piece in the back was too loose, and they tried to make it nice and strong. They put an extra screw. I got good service. I’ve been very pleased with them. I can’t have better service than what I have. The refrigerator has also been pretty nice. I got the microwave, the refrigerator and the stove.

We were remodeling our house and I needed a bigger refrigerator. Viking was one of the better ones on the market so we got their 48-inch refrigerator. We also ended up getting all Viking appliances (a range, a hood, and a stove) because I wanted to stay with the same brand for resale purposes. However, we’ve only bought the refrigerator in November and in February, the mechanism that defrosts the coils in the freezer went out, and trying to get that fixed was not pleasant. I called Viking on a couple occasions and they said they had three contractors for us but two of them didn’t service refrigerators down in South Florida. The third company sent a guy out and he said he’ll defrost it. I told him we’ve been defrosting it every other day for a month while waiting for him to come out. He said “Well, I got to try this anyway and if it doesn’t work then call us back.” He defrosted it and two days later, it was icing over again. So I called the company back and they said I needed to replace the mechanism that defrosts it. They have it back ordered and I had to wait another month for them to get the part. I spent two months with a $10,000 refrigerator and I had to take a heat gun every other day and defrost the coils in the freezer so I wouldnt lose everything in it.After the mechanism went out, my husband read on forums that our refrigerator’s issue is a common Viking problem. And the tech they sent out didn’t speak English, which is fine because I speak Spanish. I kept asking, “Well, what is actually the problem?” And he said, “Well, it just needs to be defrosted.” He wanted me to sign all these forms and I said, “Look, I am not paying for this because this should be under my extended warranty that I paid for.” He said I had to sign it and that’s the only time I got him to tell me what he thought was wrong with our fridge. When I had to call back, I told them not to send the same guy but they did. He had no social skills. He didn’t even introduce himself when he showed up and left without saying anything. I had to track him outside the driveway and ask if it was already fixed. He said, “Well, just watch it. If it frosts over again then you’re gonna have to call another service ticket on it.”Though the Viking dealers were nice and helpful, the service could be way better. The number that I was provided for servicing in my purchase packet was redirecting me to the store so I had to call them and try to find servicing for it. I sat on hold trying to get someone for almost an hour to answer the phone. If I’m gonna be on hold for a long time, they should send my call to a voicemail and call me back. Other than the mechanism going out in less than a year, everything else has worked beautifully. The refrigerator keeps my fruits and vegetables fresher way longer than the last refrigerator we had. I liked that I always have space in it, and I also love the other appliances that we bought. I wouldn’t recommend the refrigerator for the price, but the other appliances, I would.

Built a new home in 2011, my ex wanted an elaborate kitchen that would be functional and fun to entertain in. We purchased Viking refrigerator, freezer, 2 dishwashers, 12 gas burners and 4 ovens, because our impression was Viking was top of the line. Turns out the line begins at the rear. The dishwashers never worked properly and I discarded them after 2 years & numerous service calls. The burners took several trips and replacement of the castings to get them level. The ovens take forever to reach temperature and each one takes a different setting to maintain required temperatures. Both doors on the refrigerator and freezer have sagged and required adjustments. Currently, we have been waiting for a month for a part for the refrigerator, in order to get the temperature under 50 degrees. Called yesterday again and was told that the part was on order and coming from the factory. I asked if it was coming by Pony Express, hello Viking have you heard about FedEx yet? Good thing I kept the 15-year-old Whirlpool or we would be eating out of a cooler.

My husband and I are both good cooks and I wanted a Viking Range ever since
My husband and I are both good cooks and I wanted a Viking Range ever since they became available commercially. It was about the same price as its competitors but its the one I always dreamed of having. I wanted a six burner and the one I received from Viking is incredible. I love it. My old range was a Kitchenaid and with it, I couldnt run the burners on top and the oven at the same time. I would get a power failure and at that time, that was allegedly a good range. So I wanted something that was not going to crap out on me. We just had Thanksgiving and with the Viking Range, I had at least five burners going in the oven and everything was perfect. But when I purchased it from a retail store, it was a mess. I had complaints and they kept not wanting to put me through Viking. They kept telling me that Viking wouldnt do anything about it because the ovens got to have many things wrong with it. They also kept saying they could repair it and when we were down to the 6th thing that needed to be repaired, finally they sent the email with my complaints to Viking. Once Viking got involved, I had a new stove within two weeks. And because the range and the refrigerator are only separated by a small-ish cabinet, I also told them that when the refrigerator came in, it had a big bash on the side. Again, I had a new one in five days. So the people at Viking were incredibly responsive and based on my experience, we should watch out for the retail outfit that we get our Viking products from.

We needed a range that fits so we looked around and we heard of Viking. I looked in the store and I liked the look of the range. It was 25 inches deep which was the right size for our already built kitchen. It also had the right functionality. We saw several competitors whose second oven was way too small but Viking also had two good sized ovens in a 48-inch range. Plus, we’ve been pleased with the gas cooktop. It seemed to be much more efficient than our previous gas cooktops. We used AJ Madison online and we went with them rather than locally for the speed of delivery. I want the range as soon as I could so my wife could start using the kitchen. They promised us delivery within 10 days. However, it still took 21 days. And then the problem was that they did not install at the same time of the delivery which was what I would asked them to do. So, we then had to have the range sitting on the metal screw unable to get it hooked up for nearly two weeks because they didnt install the legs properly on the range. It was potentially damaging the hardwood, and it was a truly terrible experience. The timing and the delivery experience was poor. Plus, we had to have someone come in and install the range instead. We were better off going with the local company after all. There were other problems when it was installed like, aesthetically, the dials on the front of the range were not level, so they were all over the place. Another thing was the part hooked to the range underneath the oven was bent and so we had to have a replacement ordered. The oven doors were not level and they sloped off it that those in the left don’t want to slide down to the left. The right won’t slide down to the right. Also, within the oven, there was lots of the kind of ceramic coating that had already chipped off. So, we are having a replacement in the interior of the oven as well. We got to the point where we were wiping sharp ceramic shards. It has been three weeks now since we had the Viking technician out to look at the range and I’ve had no communication when they are going to come and fix it. I contacted Viking two times trying to find someone who could help me install. It also took a week dealing with the Viking reps to get them to have a wise conversation. I found Viking to be very unresponsive. So I like the range itself and the quality would be very cool but it was awful for a $12,000 range. It has not been a great experience all way around.

Our Viking 48 two door refrigerator: After two years it stopped working; drawers, shelves, plastic trim, refrigerator side door interior panels cracking, and both door seals in desperate need of replacement. After reading so many complaints about Viking appliances we just decided to wait and get more familiar with this expensive brand. In the mean time we went to Lowes and got a Samsung as a spare. Not sure on how to proceed, the Viking refrigerator was turned off and unplugged for three years. After the three years, we called Viking; Viking replaced the compressor, but we had to pay for all the expensive labor and all the other expensive replacement parts including the ice maker and both door seals. The refrigerator interior door panel is expensive and not worth of replacement. The refrigerator started to leak right after it was serviced from the freezer every time the freezer defrosts. Our 48 Viking Freestanding Gas Range: The knobs on the front of the range get very hot when using the ovens. The lettering and markings on the range disappeared. Oven doors dont close correctly. After three years, we started to smell gas coming from both ovens when in use. The ovens would not heat up properly, had to replace all three oven igniters. The large oven door/hinges stuck and we could not get the door to open or close, had all door hinges replaced on both doors. As a contractor, I find it amazing that I keep seeing Viking Appliances in multimillion dollar homes. My best guess is that these Viking appliances are there for appearance purposes only. Viking Appliance is the worst brand. Viking appliances are only worth the metal that they are made of. DO NOT even look at a Viking Appliance. I encourage all owners of any Viking appliance to be truthful and help the next victim that maybe looking to buy the Viking brand.

My Viking dual fuel 4-burner range was a disaster from the start. It’s now in its 6th year and the igniters chirp nonstop for five or ten minutes after turning on a burner. The bulbs in the oven have burned out and are stuck. Two separate repairmen have not been able to remove them. The oven is small and cant even fit a large turkey. Purchased a 30 inch Viking gas range that was delivered Dec 9, 2015. The oven temperature was anywhere from 25 to 100 different from the dial reading--had to buy an oven thermometer to realize that it was the oven and not me. Service guy came out a month later and recalibrated it. Temperature was still 25 degrees different than the dial reading. Technician returned two weeks later and replaced the thermostat and internal computer. Still 25 degrees discrepancy from the dial reading. Viking rep told me that I just needed to get used to the oven. A $6000 range should not perform this way. I’ve had previous experience with Viking and I know its quality so I chose it over others. I like that the Viking refrigerator has more space but I had to return the original one that I purchased and get the same model. Its got an error code and it stopped cooling. It was still within the 14-day window that they gave me so I chose to replace it rather than repair. I had a great purchasing experience with the team at Pacific Sales. However, when the delivery was supposed to take place with the first refrigerator, there was a reschedule. And I was not notified promptly. So, I had to make arrangements and then cancel them. With the second delivery, with the replacement unit, the same thing happened. I know they subcontract the delivery and it wasn’t a very positive experience. I was just trying to work something out with the salesperson because this was a big hassle - from the delivery, to the unit breaking down, to all that. So, he tried to do the best, gave us a gift certificate for $50, but we were not very encouraged. One mistake is fine, but twice and then a bad refrigerator. But there are always bad apples. So, Im not judging the whole line because of one unit. It’s got a simple design and I still find it reliable.

We initially looked at different models and ended up getting a better deal with Viking. Everything we bought came in with the package, which was nice. The dealer tried to work with us to get the best deal. The conventional oven in the gas top works great as well as the broiler, but unfortunately, the convection part of the oven doesnt work so weve had to put in a service call for it. Its a little disappointing since its brand new and thats an issue. Additionally, since that supplier is out of state, we took a couple of days to find out who could supply the Viking range. I had to call them back and then they gave me the name of the supplier, then the supplier took a day or two just to have them call me back. Luckily it was close to the area that we were, but the rep was getting calls from people from New York and other states so not too many people service them. Overall my Viking range looks great and I had great interactions with the people, but theyre lacking in servicing.

We love the range! I had a Dacor range before but my Viking now is better. It is more expensive, but its a far superior range. I could have gotten a less expensive one but we went with them based on their reputation. Ive known about Viking Ranges and its a high-quality product. I got the basic one that had a self-cleaning. Then, I also bought a griddle, and I love it too.

We bought a house that needed to be updated and remodeled. We decided that the one thing we would splurge on was kitchen appliances. We purchased a range, hood, and dishwasher from Viking. From the moment we began the install, we were disappointed at every turn. For starters, the company sent the wrong metal bracket that attaches to the underside of the hood where the exhaust pipe attaches. It took them THREE MONTHS and three tries to send the right piece! The woman who answered the phone at Viking was useless and it took my husband days to of calling to get someone who could answer questions on the other end of the phone. When they sent the first replacement piece, we called the installer and had to pay him even though he couldnt finish the install because it was the wrong piece. When the right part finally arrived we had to take the hood down and start all over again. The customer support? As far as Im concerned it was nearly nonexistent. The oven itself doesnt seem to be regulated properly. On a 350 degree setting, baked goods bake too fast or burn. Im 62 and Ive baked all my life. Its not me, its the oven. And trying to slowly simmer on the stove-top? FORGET IT! Everything boils away. The dishwasher is another story. It was part of a package deal and now I know why they were practically giving it away. I have two college degrees and I cant make this thing operate properly. No matter what I press when I open it after a cycle everything is wet. The other night my husband started the cycle before we went to bed. When I woke up in the morning it was STILL RUNNING. I am so disillusioned with the products but even more so with the VIKING Company itself. I would never recommend this company to anyone. AT these prices one would expect consumer service to be stellar. Instead I felt as if they resented our calls. SHAME ON YOU VIKING. I was so happy when the appliances arrived. Now Im thinking of selling them.

We like the Viking range because of its style and how it fits with our cabinets. It was ultimately the better fit for what we were trying to get. I compared it to the Thermador and the Thermador had a smaller range for the same price. With the Viking, I can control the stove top of the gas burners, which is nice. It also fits into our kitchen wall. I use it every day and so far it has performed very well. However, weve had a couple of service issues with it. The first was the door did not close all the way. It was not aligned properly, so we couldnt get full closure. The other thing was the steel would pop when we turned the oven on. Weve already had service calls to come out for the range within the first 12 months. They were able to resolve the door issue, which apparently was a shipping thing. We still have the metal popping but we learned how to fix that. Also, customer service has been good. I had a lot of issues with the dealer, and by the time I got to Viking, the gentleman I spoke with was very compassionate and had a lot of empathy. He cheered me up and did everything he could to help in our situation.

I have no idea why Viking is rated so highly. I have a propane wall oven that takes 45 minutes to heat and will get cooler the longer it is on. I hope people read this review and decide not to purchase thousands of dollars worth of **!!!! Do not buy!!!! Oh yeah, I’ve tried to have it worked on and called Viking several times. Guess what! They don’t service my area! It was serviced when this POS was sold for $5000! Save your money and get something that works! I HATE my oven especially since today is Thanksgiving and it will not keep a steady temp! I have been trying to bake biscuits for over two hours! I wish I could put in better words how much this oven sucks and so does the customer service!

I didn’t get my Viking range until March and a couple of months later, my kitchen light was always on. I realized the door wasnt closing properly, and so I called the person I bought it from and they said that within the first year, I have to go through a a service person. The tech came and had it fixed but I had to wait six weeks. Also, one of the four burners and the middle burner were not working, and the tech must have ordered parts for that too because he came to fix those. Theyre all resolved now and I’m happy that it’s working. I love the cooking quality level of the burners. We’re personally having a struggle ‘cause I need to get the range installed with a hood to vent it properly because it sets off my fire alarm. The person who installed said that I cannot use the clean setting ‘cause it would be too hot. I cleaned it out by hand, and then the person who came to fix it said that its not true. Within 20 minutes of using the clean setting, it set off my fire alarm again, even with a cover. There’s something about using it that it can’t do that. So, it’s on my to-do list to look into buying a hood. Otherwise, I love my Viking range.

We chose Viking because we just built a house and we wanted all the appliances to be the same. And we’ve made contact with an appliance company and they had a package with the three - the oven, dishwasher and refrigerator. The quality of the appliances is terrible. It was absolutely horrendous and we would never recommend, per our experience, Viking appliances again. We had three, now we have two Viking appliances, which caused an astronomical amount, and every one of the three appliances had defects and issues. We are superiorly disappointed in the quality of the appliances for the amount that they cost. The hinges are broken on our range. They had to replace the fan on our oven. The latch on the dishwasher is broken. The door was damaged. They had to replace the door on our dishwasher. I don’t know if that happened in shipping or not, on the dishwasher. But all three of our appliances have had issues. Our refrigerator was so bad that they had to take it out and replace it with a different brand completely. Our Viking fridge had a stainless finish and it looked like dimples on a golf ball on all the doors. They replaced them three different times, and every single time that they replaced them, it was the same exact thing. It’s definitely a defect in manufacturing. What happens is that they spray the foam insulation in there, and when it dries, it adheres to all over on the stainless steel backing and it sucks it in and it makes it look dimpled like a golf ball. They came out and replaced the doors three different times. They got the Viking representative involved and they said, “We’re gonna send you brand new ones from the factory.” When they came and installed them, those ones looked worse than the ones before. The appliance company felt so bad that they said, “We’re going to replace your Viking Refrigerator with a GE Café.” And that refrigerator is absolutely beautiful.

I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven abo
I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven about 4 years ago. Since this was for a major renovation to our personal home, we decided on what was easily the most expensive appliances weve ever purchased. I liked that they are American Made, and figured that certainly Viking would stand behind their highest end products, and I wouldnt have to wait weeks for replacement parts from overseas (if I ever needed them). What a BAD DECISON! Since installing the Oven, weve had to pay for replacement of the main circuit board in the oven two times. Now for the Refrigerator: DDSB483DS6. This is the most expensive yet, WORST appliance I have ever purchased. (Im a builder, remodeler, and property manager- so believe me, Ive purchased many refrigerators in my career). The Ice Maker has been replaced twice. The chute where the ice drops from the ice maker to the door does not accept the shape of the ice, so it constantly gets stuck- and definitely DO NOT USE the crushed ice feature as it will freeze and clog this chute! The next hour or so the ice in the chute then melts and drips into the small holding tray which does not drain into the pan below the fridge, so it overflows and runs down the front of the fridge and onto the floor. Further, the pan below the fridge has continuously filled up to overflowing since day 1. To address this we had to create a calendar reminder to empty the pan every 3 days. If not, the water overflows onto the floor!Needless to say, my wood floor in front of the fridge is completely ruined. Over multiple service calls by the Viking Factory recommended repair company(s) to address this, weve purchased a recommended $500 heater element designed to evaporate the water from the pan, and multiple other expensive suggested repairs- all to no effect! It got to the point that I had a drain tube installed from the pan that leads the water outside the house! The latest unpleasant experience began in September 2015. The new Viking repair company (exclusive appliance Svce 770-888-9555- they are awesome!) representative came out, saw the issues and determined that there has been a defective gasket within the door. He explained that this is what has been causing the problems all along. We disconnected the water line to the fridge in order to stop the leaking (therefore, no filtered water or ice since September) while we waited for Viking to provide us with the replacement gasket. Furthermore, this representative made a few calls to Viking on our behalf to explain the cause and ultimate damage caused by this defective part. He took and submitted multiple pictures and written explanation of the damaged floor, and filed a claim on our behalf to have Viking pay to repair the damages. While we waited for the claim to process, the Gasket was finally delivered about 6 weeks later, only to discover that the replacement part was DEFECTIVE as well!! We were then told that the entire manufacturing run of these gaskets are defective, so the new expected delivery date for the new gasket will be 8 weeks later. Ironically, the same day we received this information, the Viking Claims Department contacted me to tell me that Viking had determined that the damage to my floor was not caused by the defective appliance!LONG STORY SHORT, Viking Appliances are the WORST I have ever owned, and even worse, Viking could not care less, and is apparently unwilling to stand behind their products at all. This is the first review I have ever written on a public forum, but if it helps even one person from suffering through this very expensive, horrible experience, then it was well worth my time.

Viking sent somebody to fix it, but they never fixed it. It was temporarily fixed. Now, it’s broken again. It’s only a couple months old. So we contacted the appliance store that we purchased it from and they also put another service ticket. However, it was not a good time and I didn’t want anybody in the house when they called. The refrigerator door fell on my wife out of nowhere when she opened it. But Viking they did an exceptional job in making sure that my wife was okay and that we received a new unit. We couldn’t be happier with their response. I assume it was because of the liability and the potential for an injury. They also probably wanted to prevent that from ever happening again. We have three little kids and God forbid it was one of them who opened those doors. It weighs 150 to 200 pounds fully loaded. Viking said it has apparently never happened before but that can happen with any product. Still, we’re happy with the product, its looks and its performance. We’ve owned the Viking refrigerator for some time now, along with the oven, the microwave and the dishwasher. We have the whole Viking outfit. We also had issues with our oven and our dishwasher and they were diligent on those as well. The fan motor had to be replaced for our oven and they replaced the pump of our dishwasher.

We were looking for a counter depth refrigerator, and the Viking refrigerator was one of the few ones that we liked. It works really well and we like its design. It gets the food really cold. I like the lighting there and the construction of it. However, the dealer we bought it from was horrible. I bought from the dealer Viking appliances including a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and a microwave. When they first brought the refrigerator over, they didn’t have a truck that has a ramp to take it off from the truck. What they ended up doing was they had to open up the fridge in the truck, had to lay it on its side, and slid it on the floor. They had three people struggling, carrying it into the house without its box. I was to the point of just livid. Fortunately, they didn’t scratch anything because I was standing there right next to them making sure nothing happened. I could have picked a better dealer despite them giving me free installation.I have a printout of the fridge so that we know where to put the electrical outlet as well as the water outlet. But in the case of the range, there wasn’t really a cutout. All we knew was that it has a 30-inch width so when it arrived, it couldn’t fit into the wall because the gas outlet in the wall was right in the middle. We remodeled the entire kitchen and nobody explained it to me when I was in the showroom that we could have reconfigured everything to make sure that the appliances actually fit there. Also in the dishwasher, there was a piece at the bottom that keeps falling off. Its kinda weird and I’m not sure what to do with it. However, the appliances were great, overall. I’m very satisfied with the Viking brand. It looks great. I have people come by and everybody’s awed by the overall look of it. It’s just beautiful.

Im 59 years old and have been cooking forever and I always prefer a gas range. Part of the reason I chose a Viking was its design. We had a GE before that had some problems with its electronic components, and I was sick of replacing that card. And it happened two times and so I wanted something a little bit more simple. Im very satisfied with my Viking range. Its convection works great and it did everything it was supposed to do. I also liked the design of the inside oven of the Viking range and how easily the wire shelves slid out. It felt very stable and nice. Then theres the simmer feature where I can really bring the temp down low. It is awesome because not all ranges go quite low enough. I like the control that I have on that. I also like its sleekness. It doesnt have a whole bunch of electronic stuff because I dont need all that stuff on my range. I just want to cook with it.However, when it was delivered, there was damage done to that bottom kickplate. Everybody tried hard to order it from Viking and get it here. Finally, the salesman where we had bought it out said, You know what? Ive got a range here. Weve got it on order. How about if I bring this down to you or send this down to you. You guys put it on. And when you get the replacement thing, you guys bring it up to us? So thats what we did. It was not the perfect fix but I appreciated the salesman going bazillion miles over. It was just such a conundrum for anybody to figure out how to do it. It wasnt the delivery people that caused the problem. It was done in packaging from Viking and that was aggravating.

We bought the Viking Series 7 48” Dual fuel range with the ViChrome gridd
We bought the Viking Series 7 48” Dual fuel range with the ViChrome griddle for our remodel. The range looks really good, unfortunately we need one that works as well. Let me start with what works well. The burners are very nice, delivering consistent heat. The stove top is easy to clean with few nooks and crannies. Now for the things that don’t work well. The ViChrome griddle looks good but a horrible surface to cook on. The only thing that doesn’t stick like superglue to the surface is pancakes, as long as we use ghee. Any other fat or oil does not work at all. The surface is very difficult to clean. The griddle itself has a problem that there is a high temperature difference between front and back. The back will burn things while the front will undercook. Only about a 6” piece of the griddle cooks at the set temp. I had the workings of the griddle changed out by Viking service but it did not change a thing. We gave up using it as it’s not worth the trouble.By far the biggest disappointments are the two electric ovens. There is also a large temp difference between front and back of the ovens, upwards of 10 degrees. This too was addressed by Viking service but no change. The only way to get even cooking is to manually rotate the dish. The convection fan sounds like a jet engine and makes this very large range shake. Viking service replaced the fan in the larger oven but it shakes now more than ever. We gave up using the convection ovens as the noise and shaking are just too much to stomach particularly given the $15,000 price tag. Finally, each oven has a heating element at the top which shuts off when oven reaches temperature, unfortunately it will kick on during cooking when oven is at temp and proceed to burn whatever it is we are cooking. I lost count of how many dishes have been ruined by this. We have to watch the heating element constantly to insure the dishes don’t burn. The range looks great, but what a huge disappointment. I am a second generation Viking customer, growing up with the older models that built the great Viking name. There will not be a third generation Viking customer in my family. There are better products out there a 1/4th the price.

The dealer told me about all the more expensive French stoves which were nice but I can’t afford that much money. I got the Viking range and it’s of excellent quality. It’s an improvement to the 1959 GE maroon wall oven that I had.The stovetop is great and I love it. The burners give you a lot of gas and you can trim down real low and that’s nice for simmering. We just bought everything and we are getting everything hooked up and functional. It took longer on our cupboards than we thought so that sets us back but it’s a wonderful product and I love it. It’s been a great experience and I would recommend Viking.

I was in a time crunch so I had to make a split-second decision, and I heard that Viking had pretty good reviews. This was the first range I got as a six-burner gas range and it was horrible. Whenever we would turn on the oven, it would make a loud banging noise like a gunshot in my house. The repairman came out and drilled holes in the bottom of my new unit. He said that would fix it because of the expansion of the heat heating up the metal. He did that and left, and afterwards it was worse than before. This was a $7,000 unit that was recommended by one of the Viking people. We went back and forth with Viking and they sent out a new one. The new one came after a couple of weeks of arguing, and the top was all scratched. The black part of the iron grates was peeling off. I opened the door and the door was bent. There was a quarter-inch gap you could see on the installation inside. I finally had them take it back again and I tried getting my money back. They didn’t reimburse me the whole thing for some reason, so I lost $800 on the deal. I went with a whole new different range. I would not recommend them and I would never purchase another Viking product.

I wanted all my appliances to match. So I went and got the Viking refrigerator. My stove is really good but I see the refrigerator and I dont see the same quality. Im not very satisfied for the price I paid. The refrigerator has some issues. I have spoken to customer service and the year was going by and I thought I need to call them again. The refrigerator freezes food in the refrigerator area. But even at the bottom of the refrigerator, Im starting to see some sort of accumulation. The maintenance people are not very familiarized because the rep told me that down where Im from, there are not many people that own Viking. But the lady that does also had the same issues of food freezing. The handles are very wobbly. I constantly have to tighten them up. It doesnt have a feature in the ice machine where it stops after it feels that it has made enough ice. For such an expensive and quality brand, those features would have been looked into. They had to also repair, just within purchase, the deli meat door because it was off. It was crooked. Right away, they sent the deli door. But the guy hasnt even called me. He was supposed to check into that whole freezing of the food in the refrigerator. But Ive been lenient because I said it was a holiday.

Viking should be sued. Its beyond me that this company that sells garbage to consumers for top dollar is still in operation. I guess if you never plan on actually using your appliances, then all is good and they look great. But if you would like an appliance that actually works and you intend to cook for family or friends, well then youre out of luck. You just flushed a chunk of money down the toilet! In 2009, we purchased all Viking appliances for our new custom built home. This included a refrigerator, separate stand alone freezer, 6-burner/griddle cooktop, double oven with warming drawer and microwave. This was quite an investment. However, since we cook and entertain so much, we felt it was well worth the cost for so-called top of the line appliances. Its truly unbelievable that every one of our Viking appliances has fallen apart, broken down and needed repair - which is not cheap by the way. Here are just a few of the problems: knobs falling off the cooktop, griddle on cooktop does not heat to proper temp, lock on oven for self-cleaning wont lock, microwave fuses blowing out (the inside is all GE), every drawer in refrigerator is cracked, freezer drawers cracked and racks dont slide out properly. I could good on, but I really just want to make sure that consumers do not invest their hard earned money on Viking appliance. Viking appliances are for show only, not for quality or function!

The ice machine in our Viking Refrigerator doesnt work. Ive had a service technician out because its still under warranty but they cant get the parts. They cant even confirm when theyre going to fix it. I’ve known Viking products for years. In fact, all of our appliances are Viking. We got the lower end model of refrigerator. Im not an expert on refrigeration, but I dont think that its up to par with other units at its price range. Their upper end models may be totally different but the ice maker design of this unit is not good and it needs to be changed. We cant pull the drawer out because the bearings had gone bad. So, the ice making location or the way it works is not good. Now, I cant even get parts for it but the parts are backlogged. They said its going to take over a month to six weeks to get them. They need to keep these parts in inventory. I can understand if theyre not readily available that day but I hope we could get them within a week. Six weeks is ridiculous. They cant even confirm when theyre going to get the parts, and theyre saying hopefully by Thanksgiving which is not good.

We liked the look of Viking and their reputation as well so we went with them. Were not so thrilled with the double wall oven but the refrigerator is awesome. The quality is excellent and this is probably the best refrigerator weve ever owned. Its so easy to navigate in there. You can see and reach everything. But the ice maker could be improved. The bin that the ice goes into should be raised in the back so that the ice falls to the front. Im always winding up with ice all over the floor and on the inside of the freezer because it builds up then theres no way to open the freezer without the ice falling over like a deck of cards. Other than that, weve had a fairly good experience so far.

We bought the package of Viking appliances - fridge, wall oven, and stove from Trail Appliance in Calgary in 2009. We are living outside of any major city so servicing these products has been tough. The products are constantly falling apart and expensive to repair. The fridge shelves and drawers have cracked numerous times and are now taped with duct tape as the replacements are too expensive to keep replacing! The stove elements are no longer working so in process of finding repairs. Not hopeful. Very disappointed with the product line.

Ultimately, everything with Viking went well. It was kinda frustrating there for a little while. It was tough to figure out who I should be dealing with because they do their service calls through another company. It was confusing to know how I should be kinda contacting. I bought my range from an appliance dealer where in the book that came with it, it said, “You have a two-year warranty from date of purchase.” And so, it was within the two years. I submitted to have it serviced and they said it wasn’t valid because it was more than five years after the manufacturing date. I had to really fight multiple people on that. So, it was kind of a pain. But they said, “You know what? We squared it away. We figured it out.” And they honored it and then they came and eventually serviced it and its working great now.The issue was the fan that removes the heat away from the oven was faulty. So, it wouldn’t get rid of all the necessary heat and it would get too hot in that area, and the safety mechanism would shut off the oven. It couldn’t be above a certain temperature for more than like 30 minutes or it would shut itself off because the heat wasn’t being taken away efficiently enough. The oven itself is great. Even the fact that it broke, I understand things happen like that. It was just a pain dealing with their customer service. It was really frustrating. And one of the reasons I bought it was for that warranty, and then when I thought they weren’t gonna honor it, I was not happy. But I love my Viking. Its accurate, it does everything I need, and it looks great. Everything about it is great. So, I really like the oven.

I have a double electric built-in oven approximately 11 months old. The temperature has never worked properly, and in August, I had a technician come out to regulate the temperature. In the process, we realized the convection feature did not work properly in the top oven (and later also in the bottom oven). After two trips to regulate the temperature, the technician also ordered a new fan for the convection portion. Shortly after that, we told him to order a bottom fan as well, as that was not properly working either. He called and told me the fan would take three weeks to arrive from the factory. I asked if it was in China, and he said no, he got parts faster from China than he did from Viking in the Midwest!!I had bought the oven from Albert Lee Appliance in Bellevue, WA. I called their service department initially to complain about the temperature, and they put me in touch with the local technician, who is excellent! I never had any follow-up call from Albert Lee to see if I was being taken care of. As time progressed, and the parts had not arrived, I again called Albert Lee service, and later the salesman I bought the oven from to ask for their help. The salesman referred me to to his service department, and they said they would look into it. After three weeks, and another call to the service department, I have never heard from Albert Lee.I finally called Viking, and after three re-routings of my call, was connected to the rep in Southern California, who told me to call the Northwest rep. He returned my call the next day, and promised to get the parts overnight so my oven would work. After a week and a half, and no parts forthcoming, he called and said he would replace the oven with a new one. He did mention receiving an email notification about bad convention fans in wall-mounted ovens (which I knew from three weeks prior from the technician!). At any rate, I am now awaiting a new oven (no delivery date yet). I would NOT recommend Viking to anyone based on my experience with their sloppy, untimely repair issues. I do have a Viking cooktop, and am happy with it, but hold my breath if something goes wrong with it after this experience. Also, I would not recommend Albert Lee Appliance to anyone, for their lack of customer care, and general lack of any follow-through on customer complaints. They sell and forget, it seems, so I will buy there no more.

Since that time, the Control Board has been replaced TWICE BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. It has gone bad AGAIN and it is going to cost over $1000 to repair. This refrigerator was serviced within a year after purchasing it. The doors started becoming uneven. Two repair men had to remove the door and replace the pin. They do not have factory pins so the door is still slightly uneven and makes a weird sound when its opened. Fast forward to today and the freezer is warm, my food is thawed. I have had nothing but issues with my dishwasher that doesnt dry my dishes, 6 burner range, microwave needed a part. The self cleaning oven doesnt do a good job and the grease is still on the door window. I never imagined that spending top dollar for appliances would be such a headache and so costly. Please, if youre in the market for new appliances, DO NOT buy Viking!

I’ve seen Vikings advertisements in home building magazines and I went with them because of the expected quality. The stove and the microwave-convection oven were delivered dead on arrival, and it’s now six weeks so Viking’s trying to figure out if they’re gonna replace them or not. They’ve had three technicians out and I have not heard back in two weeks despite repeated follow-up attempts. The interactions are fine, but all the parts unfortunately are on backorder and are parts that they don’t stock. And there’s no definitive timeline for when the parts will be in stock. Every time I call the call center, they say I’m supposed to expect a call from a director or BT level that can make that decision. And they keep passing along the message, but I do not get a call back. I spent a ton of money on these appliances and it’s very unfortunate that the service and quality aren’t there based on my experience so far.

We like the look of the Viking professional series, but there are some reliability issues. We’ve had two service calls in just over a year which made me a little concerned. The first service call happened when the unit didn’t have a fan, so it was overheating, and the thermostat kept cutting off and shutting down the stove oven. Then the second time was when the control panel that drove the gas valve for the main oven and the igniter for the broiler both acted up. We were unable to use the main oven for about three weeks. They had to get some parts, then came back, and fixed the issues.

My friend had a Viking range and I liked it. I like the look and feel of them, the professional grade and quality. Those have been questionable, however. The stovetop works fine but the oven never worked right and it took me a long time to finally get a service tech out. He came last week and ordered the parts, so I’m waiting for them. I bought the oven stove brand new online for $5,000, yet it hasn’t been working for a month and a half now. I heard and I saw consumer feedback bashing the maintenance support but despite that, I bought it because it was something I wanted. I figured it is high quality and it won’t need that much work, but it has turned into that already, so theres a little buyer’s remorse. I buy something high-end like that and I expect good service, and I havent seen that so its disappointing. I’ve since gone to Wolf and I checked it out, and their product support is over the top. If I had to do it all over again, I’d probably go with Wolf.

And it’ll take days to get the oven unlocked with food stuck in it. Ovens will just die because they won’t heat properly. We have the electric oven with the gas burners. And so, we’ve had failure to heat multiple times as well, with defective relays, defective elements. It’s also very hard to get a serviceperson to come. And when they come, they dont fix it. Back in November, we bought a refrigerator and a stove. I got a GE profile then and it didnt work. The part was back ordered so they brought out another one and it had the exact same problem. So I went to look for more stoves but then I didnt like all the electronic crap. Every time I leaned up against the front of the stove, it would go crazy because of all the electronics. All I wanted was an old fashioned stove that bakes but looked updated. I looked at other stoves and I didnt like them. When went online and read about Viking in Consumer Reports, it was the only oven that people said worked. I hated to spend the next $2,300 that I didnt have, but I didnt want an oven that I couldnt use. So I got a Viking.I thought my Viking Range was gonna be spectacular. But then its not and Im a little disappointed. When their guys delivered it, the bottom panel just above the legs wasnt secured. I pushed on the upper corner thinking I could just push it in and that didnt work. So, the delivery guy came and he had to screw it in. He then told me that I had dented it with my finger pushing on the corner. I told him I didnt think so but he made me sign off on something that said that was so. After he left, I saw that there were dents on the other side in the same place I hadnt touched. I dont know where those dents came from, but I didnt do either one of them. So I called and had to ask for a new bottom panel. Their reps said that in the first week, they replace anything. Since then, Ive been liking the range pretty well. However, it doesnt bake as well as I thought it would, it being that expensive of an oven. I had previously traded my GE in because I had so many problems with it. I thought that because my new oven was a Viking, it was gonna be better than it is. Its hard to see through the dark window and even when you have the light on in the oven. Its hard to see whats going on. It seems to take longer to cook than I thought it would. Furthermore, I dont notice a lot of differences between the convection oven feature and just the bake feature. I dont know if I like the grill either as I thought it was gonna be thicker. Sometimes, when I put a heavy pot on it, it seems like its not real sturdy and I dont know how itll hold up over time. The grills are not as heavy as those on some of the other ones which is something I like because it was awkward to pull those heavier things off. Also, Im not too wild about my Viking being up on legs but then Im getting used to it. Still, I like the stove really well. I like that you can simmer on it. However, when its pre-heating, it buzzes sometimes and it sounds like something in the back is vibrating. When that happens, I can hear the fan which is kind of loud but then it goes on only for a few seconds every once in a while. I also like the black background and the black liner underneath the burners as it is fairly easy to keep clean. I like the controls too. This is in contrast to the stainless steel on the GE profile as I couldnt keep that clean. I also like the look and the slide in. But then, Im gonna have to get my gas outlet and have a plumber put it at a different point that is lower to the ground. My range sticks away from the wall so doing that would allow it to sit up against the wall. Though maybe Viking is still working out the bugs with their range as they havent been making these for very long, I thought from their reputation that my Viking was gonna be a little different. Still, Im pretty happy overall.

We have known Viking for many years. The Viking Range was high-end quality and we wanted a commercial type of stove. We bought it from a dealer who was very nice and helpful to us. So far, the range is wonderful. The oven cooks very quickly and it’s different from any other ovens I’ve ever had. I like the convection in it. I also like the fact that we have the grate on top where we could grill. Although we bought that separately from the stove, you could grill things on it and make pancakes on the other side. The oven is sturdy and easy to clean. But Im not too happy about the shelves. They dont come out very easily and they stick out a bit. You cant get a round pizza pan in there. Also, the fascia came bent twice. It came right off the box that way. So the second time, we just had the installer push it back up. But all in all, our experience with Viking has been pretty satisfying. The oven works very well as far as cooking food.

I have had a Viking stove for about 30 years. When I went into a store, I saw that there were Viking displays and the refrigerator really looked very nice. I needed the built-in one because I was taking out the bad old built-in. The Viking refrigerator had all the features I wanted and had good quality parts and interior too. The ice machine is in the freezer. And I like the ice to be in the tray where I could scoop it out. I got a side-by-side that looks good in my kitchen. I like the same feel and that it was constructed with a simple design. I also like the clean stainless steel doors and the way its very vertical and tall. I hope that it would last a very long time. If it does, then Id be happy. My experience with the dealer was pretty good but they dont use the best people to do the installation. Their people are not really specialized for Viking. I have had a Series 3 gas range for less than 2 years & have had nothing but problems with the oven. When I first got it, it sounded like it was sucking air. The temp is always 25-50 degrees lower than the temp dial indicated. I ran the self-clean cycle twice & both times the door wouldnt unlock after the oven cooled down. I have had parts replaced multiple times. Most recently the main control panel was replaced so I figured all would work fine but it is worse than before. Now the oven lights, the fan comes on, the light to indicate the clean cycle is finished comes on (I wasnt running a clean cycle), the fan turns off & the oven shuts off so now I have no functioning oven at all. When I called for service it would take at least 10 days for the tech to come out... Guess they only have 1 service guy. Finally heard from Viking who said they will replace my range but the replacement range is a downgrade (does not have the self-clean feature). That is not acceptable so theyll give me store credit. The dealer has nothing available in black, w/ self-clean option in the same price range as the Viking. So if I get a different brand & dont use all of the store credit, I forfeit the unused amount. That is not acceptable. The dealer has an I dont care attitude.I have told both the dealer & Viking that at this point I will only be happy with a refund. Talked to Lindy at Viking on 10/24 & had no response w/in 24 hours so called again on 10/26. Got the impression she had done nothing about my request. She told me shed call me on 10/27 in the morning but I have had no call back. I called Viking & was told a VP has to review and they will get back to me hopefully within the hour or tomorrow morning. It is unfortunate that I have to write this on a brand such as VIKING since I have had nothing but troubles on the 48 range and the big side by side refrigerator. Over the years we had several problems including the refrigerator door that fell off and almost hurt my wife had it not been for the kitchen island that stopped the fall on her. Thankfully Viking replaced the door but it shouldnt have happened. Now the range, right from the beginning we had issues with the right sided burners and grill not working, the oven that always made a hissing sound every so often when in use which we didnt know was a faulty burner and fire spreader plate. On 4 occasions we had the Fire department coming to our house because of Carbon-monoxide leak from the oven that triggered the alarm which, thankfully, is hooked to the Fire Dept. The latest being this Thanksgiving Day while the oven was in use. When discussing this with Viking customer service, the answer we got was that upper management couldnt help and suggested a repair service company. The service company stated that this is not an isolated issue but common with VIKING. The parts alone is quoted at over $1200.00 plus labor. If anyone is thinking of buying a VIKING product - think twice before you spend the tens of thousands for this poor quality brand like we did several years ago. Shame on you VIKING.

When we bought the house, it was a new construction. Apple Homes has been building since the Truman administration and we went with the quality and reputation of the builder. Ive had a number of different houses and appliances like Wolf, Thermador, Sub-Zero and LG. The appliances I was really satisfied with was Wolf but Ive always wanted Viking. Then this house had Viking and one of the considerations when we bought it was having the appliances we liked. We had used the Viking range for almost a year and then it freaked everybody out during a dinner party, because as my girlfriend opened it up, the door literally came off in her hand and when she let down, it hit the floor pretty hard. The range is a Professional and it has a heavy door. It was lucky it didnt land on her foot as the door couldve broken it. There was only one service tech in this area and that’s who came out and put the door on. He also said that when it was installed, it may not have had the door adjusted right because it was bent and it fell out. From what Apple Homes told me, the installer was Viking-approved because they got it from whoever could sell Viking. Yet they did it incorrectly so its like damned if you do and youre damned if you dont.Plus, weve had problems with the Viking refrigerator too. The ice machine goes everywhere when we use it and it doesnt click off. Its just poor design. I even thought it was a Professional but the service person told us it was actually another manufacturer that did that particular model for Viking. It wasnt really a Viking. Thats very misleading and I wasnt aware of that. The service cost us $100 because when the service person came out, they said he couldnt find our warranty online and we couldnt find copies either. We had sent all the registration and we dated it from when we first moved in. So we got it again from the builder and refilled it out. However, the service guy did say that Viking might reimburse the $100 service call fee. This happened just right after our first year and Im not sure but I think appliances got more than a one-year warranty. I hope so, for something that expensive. Hopefully it wont have any other issues because we like the way it cooks. We loved the stove and we wouldve recommended it until the door fell off. When that happened, we hated it.

And when I purchased the stove, I got a free dishwasher. Headquarters had to call a lot and I had to have people here all the time. They were really concerned. When you open the fridge, the drawer to pull out, which is cold and you can keep cheese and meats in it, I cut my fingers and they were concerned and had headquarters call. And then, the repair people -- everything was free -- coming out all the time from Fort Myers. The guy called it metal burrs that havent been sanded down. That was quite a worry. They called me from Mississippi. Its very rare and it just wasnt finished. And depending where you place your fingers, you could cut them on metal to open that inside drawer. So, that was a bad experience. Also, the freezer didnt shut properly and the tech had come out several times. It was the most finite adjustment on something. But I could have lost a couple of hundred bucks worth of food because the alarm kept going off. And he came and fixed it, and an hour and a half later, the alarm went off again. He thought he fixed it. So, it was really challenging for the Morale in Fort Myers to contract repair people with Viking here in this area. That was maddening. And then, the dishwasher, an extra button for quietness fell right off on the floor, and it was a glue problem. The Morale had to come again. Its free for me under warranty. It just was disconcerting and all the appliances were brand-new. I heard him talk to headquarters and he said, Yes its a glue issue. And he said, No, I cant reuse it. Its covered in labrador fur and cat hair, which as soon as it started to hang out and the labrador would walk against it and it hung down from the bottom. It didnt seem to make much difference in the quietness. Its an incredibly quiet dishwasher anyway. But they had to order a new one, so that took a while, and they had to come back and put that in. That was a surprise, all that happened right away. But everything got fixed and Ive been very pleased since. Its a super quiet dishwasher and I like the red light that shines on the floor that shows when its on.And then, all the new fridges, all brands, the alarm for the freezer and different ways to adjust the temperature of that meat drawer and the freezer. And then, I like the microwave. Its so nice and simple. There were higher-end ones with the convection fan in the microwave, and I got simplest because I picked over the stove with the vent pan under the microwave. The way my kitchen was designed, it seemed the best route rather than a hood. The stove is unbelievable. This induction stove is the best thing in the planet. I heard good things about them and everybody I know whos renovating was getting new appliances, and new stoves are getting induction, and were just in shock about it was the fastest weve ever seen to boil water or cook. So safe, the way the magnetic field isnt hot. The oven is incredibly fast too. Its interesting. You dont have to preheat at all. The fix-it guy is a surprise too. He was fabulous, a longtime veteran and knows all his Vikings, and he was stunned. He was so puzzled about the freezer not closing. He thought of it truly as a challenge, a puzzle he had to solve. Because when he thought he fixed it, just 90 minutes later, it broke again. So truly, puzzled, and worked on the phone a long time with Viking in Mississippi and tried to solve it. It was the most infinitesimal thing, some tiny adjustment of a gear in the bottom drawer of the freeze. One tiny little gear off compared to the other side and it meant it couldnt close completely, and then it couldnt stay cold. That was his first time ever had to have that. Also, the button that fell off, he was also puzzled. We couldnt figure out where it fell off from. Just one day, I was just looking, and Id hardly had the dishwasher, and there it was hanging down the bottom, then it came completely off, and I called him up. When he came, You sure that came from this? He figured out where it was, couldnt save the old one or the new one, and it took a while to come. But ever since, things have been okay.

Viking has a good reputation and their range was the most professional-looking compared to their competitors products. My experience with the Viking dealer team was good. So far, the quality of the range that I received has been great and I like the way it looks.

We completely renovated our kitchen with new cabinets, marble counters, and all Viking Pro stainless steel built in appliances with the sole exception being the Bosch dishwasher. In the 10 years since we purchased the appliances, we have had repeated problems, year after year, with the double ovens (VED0127SS), microwave (VMOR205SS), nat. gas cooktop (VGSU1626BSS), cooktop downdraft (VIPR161SS), and refrigerator (VCSB423DSS). We paid $19,115 for what we thought were the top of the line appliances. Their service providers do not help much, and their customer service is terrible and useless. In hindsight, we should have kept our GE Profile appliances that came with the original home purchase and had no problems. Viking claims to have very satisfied customers but I have not encountered one. I will go out of my way to not recommend Viking appliances to all including my enemies.

I knew what I wanted when I went to the store and I told the staff I was looking for a particular Viking range. The only thing was that they had to distinguish between a dual fuel and a non-dual fuel range. The Viking range is a great product and I like its gas top feature.

When our Viking range was first brought in, the range had a panel that wasnt squared. It had been assembled off-kilter so people had to come out and take care of that. Then getting the range set up was a little bit challenging as well. We put the full range in the island so we needed to get a downdraft. But the Viking dealer didnt seem to be quite as knowledgeable to be able to tell our builder what exactly was gonna be needed to install the downdraft. They gave us the specifications but it didnt really include anything as far as the downdraft being vented down underneath the floor. When you have a cooktop, the downdraft goes in the cabinet underneath. So our case was a little different too and that was partly why they were unfamiliar with doing it that way. This range also basically came with a free dishwasher but it doesnt dry. It also has had a strange odor from day one. Then for the warranty, I went online and put the information for the range. But for the dishwasher, there was a registration-type card. I mailed it but it came back to me because the address was wrong. It made me ask whether that was why they were getting rid of the dishwashers. But other than those, everything has been great so far. I like the overall look and style of the burner. The range also has a light that comes on when you open the door. Then there is a little button that you can push for the light to come on when the door is shut. But the light doesnt come on and it has never worked. The supplier from whom we purchased the oven has given me a number to call though. That aside, the quality is good. We also got the griddle that you can put off and on the top of any of the burners and its a great feature. I love that thing. It’s a non-stick one rather than purchasing the range that has the griddle built into it.

The first problem I had with my range is the oven taking forever to preheat. Then an incessant clicking began on the burners. I was lucky enough to purchase a repair contract for $65.00 for a year. They fixed the oven preheating problem and also fixed the clicking problem, but now it has began again. It is so annoying. My burners do work, but I want to scream sometimes when I am trying to use all of the burners.

Delivered 12/17/2017. It is now March 7, 2018. The sliding racks (2 of them) one was not sliding out (bent). The repair came and took picture. Said he had to get approval. 2/24/2018 repair came to rip it out and bent the grates on the sides and bent them. On a better note the stove is great.

My wife researched Viking Ranges online since we’ve seen them before at different houses. She was happy with the price and the package that she got. We got a white range with a big scratch on it and it took six months to get a new kit panel. My experiences with Viking are not very good. But the range is great except for the scratch. The people who sold us the appliances dealt with the Viking dealership and they’re absolutely terrible. I would get a call on a Monday and she would tell me I’m going to hear from Viking and they would tell me what theyre going to do. But we never got a call. And at the end of the week, I’d call them and tell them we didn’t get a call this week. And they would say we didnt get a callback because she was busy or it was the Fourth of July or the Memorial Day or a Flag Day. We weren’t happy when we received it. It also took a long time to get anything. They need to send somebody else who knows what they’re doing besides analyzing what the repairman did! I’m not impressed at all. It’s been an unbelievably poor experience.

I had a girlfriend who had a Viking range from years ago and it worked really well for her with no problems. That was encouraging for me. Although Viking started having a lot of issues, it sounded in various sites that I was reading that they had been taken care of so I decided I would go with the company. The sales rep showed us a lot of variety of different brands of stoves. When it came to us looking at the Viking range, he didnt pressure us and he told us to take our time. He just showed us the various features of it. We were pleased and we went back a second time. We were still satisfied with the way he was handling everything. Were really were enjoying our range. Were happy with the intensity of the heat and how it responds. Its such a solid range and its very efficient. It looks good and it feels good to work with it. Also, we got our range at a reduced price as it was on sale. That helped. For what we paid for it and given the quality, it was money well-spent. I looked at other models of stoves and this one seemed superior for the difference in cost.

My only two choices was Viking or Wolf and for the price, Viking gave me what I wanted. The dealer that I bought it from were on the ball. They got it for me earlier than I thought I was gonna get it. One of the cast-iron grates was cracked and they got it replaced through Viking within a week. I like everything about the range. It fulfills my expectations and does what its supposed to do. It looks great and Im very happy with it. The fact that we just took off all the top panels to wash them is a miracle in itself. It lights when I want it to. It keeps the temperature where I want it in the oven.

We installed all Viking appliances when we built our home. Thinking we had made a great decision on a high end appliance line. It has been very frustrating dealing with these appliances. The dishwasher stopped working and it was more to have it fixed than to purchase a new one. The double ovens have been running 75 degrees high after a year. After many expensive service calls they still are not fixed. The double sided refrigerator has been replaced once and the current refrigerator freezes food that is in certain areas of the refrigerator as well as we cannot regulate the temperature in the freezer, causes food to thaw. We have had many expensive service calls with no success in resolving this very frustrating problem. Viking appliances are beautiful but there is obviously a serious problem with their products.

The company is nasty and unconcerned whenever there is a problem... My side by side has been nothing but problems. The ice machine has been replace several times... and today the ice maker stopped working. The filter is changed every 6 months so its not that. The product is just beyond horrible. We purchased the large flat top grill... problems with that 2 times. Double ovens... havent had trouble yet, and warmer hasnt had any trouble. The dishwasher isnt even as good as my old Whirlpool... Over 20k in appliances and not even as good as standard crap on the market. Should have gone with Wolf like I originally wanted. The salesman talked me out of Wolf and Subzero for Viking! My opinion... DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
