CODE: 1-1 or F1E1
PROBLEM: Stuck relay on the electronic control board
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher for 5 minutes. If the code resumes when you restore power, check the wiring connected to the control board for damage and repair any broken wires. Measure the resistance through all components connected to the control board using the tech sheet as a guide. You can find the tech sheet behind the bottom front toe panel of the dishwasher.

CODE: 1-2 or F1E2
PROBLEM: Damaged or corrupted memory on control board. Incompatible software components inside microprocessor.,
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher for 5 minutes. If the code resumes when you restore power, replace the electronic control board.

CODE: 2-1 or F2E1
PROBLEM: Stuck button on the user interface control
FIX: Check all buttons on the user interface control for a response. If one or more of the buttons don't work, unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power and disconnect the user interface control wire harness. Reassemble the door with the user interface wire harness disconnected, but don't close the door. Plug in the dishwasher and wait at least 7 seconds for the electronic control board to power up completely. Then close the door.

CODE: 2-2 or F2E2
PROBLEM: User interface control can't communicate with electronic control board
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher. Check the wiring between the user interface control and the electronic control board. If the wires and connections are okay, replace the user interface control board. If the problem persists, replace the electronic control board.

CODE: 3-1 or F3E1
PROBLEM: Thermistor/OWI sensor failure (The thermistor is the water temperature sensor, the OWI sensor is the Optical Water Indicator that detects the amount of debris in the water.)
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power and then check the wiring between the electronic control board and the thermistor/OWI sensor. Repair or replace the wire harness if broken. If you find the wiring undamaged, replace the thermistor/OWI sensor.

CODE: 3-2 or F3E2
PROBLEM: Shorted thermistor/OWI sensor
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power and then check the wiring between the electronic control board and the thermistor/OWI sensor. Repair or replace the wire harness if broken. If you find the wiring undamaged, replace the thermistor/OWI sensor.

CODE: 3-3 or F3E3
PROBLEM: OWI failed to calibrate or the drain hose check valve failed, allowing dirty water to backflow into the dishwasher
FIX: Disconnect the dishwasher drain hose connection from the air gap or the garbage disposal if you have no air gap. Pour water through the drain hose to see if water backs up into the dishwasher tub. If so, replace the portion of the drain hose that connects to the drain pump because the check valve in that hose failed. If water doesn't back up into the dishwasher through the drain hose, reconnect the hose and run the Service Diagnostics Test according to the instructions in the tech sheet.

CODE: 4-4 or F4E4
PROBLEM: Communication error between the electronic control board and the circulation pump motor
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power. Check the circulation pump wire harness and reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wiring connections are okay, replace the circulation pump and motor assembly. If the problem continues, replace the electronic control board.

CODE: 5-1 or F5E1
PROBLEM: Door switch failure
FIX: This code appears if you don't close the door within 4 seconds of pressing the Start/Resume button, or if the door latch assembly is broken. When starting a cycle, close the door within 4 seconds after pressing Start/Resume. If you can't start the cycle and the code continues, then the door switch could be defective. Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power.

CODE: 5-2 or F5E2
PROBLEM: Control detects door not opening
FIX: The electronic control board expects to see the door open between cycles or the dishwasher won't start the next time you try to start a new cycle. If you didn't open the door between cycles, cancel the cycle. Open and shut the door, and then start a new cycle. If the cycle still won't start, then the door switch could be defective. Unplug the dishwasher, then plug it back in to simulate the door opening. If the cycle starts, replace the door latch assembly because the door switch isn't detecting the door opening.

CODE: 6-1 or F6E1
PROBLEM: Won't fill
FIX: Check for an item stuck under the overfill float and remove it. If the overfill float sticks in the "up" position the dishwasher won't fill. Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power and shut the water supply valve. Disconnect the water supply line from the water inlet valve and check the water inlet valve screen for clogs. Replace the water valve if you find the screen clogged because debris from the clog can get into the valve body, causing the valve to stick open and possibly flood your kitchen.

CODE: 6-2 or F6E2
PROBLEM: Water inlet valve failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power. Remove the bottom front access panel and toe panel. Check the wire harness connections on the water inlet valve. Reconnect any loose wires. Replace the wire harness if damaged. If the wire harness connections are okay, check the resistance of the water inlet valve using a multimeter.

CODE: 6-3 or F6E3
PROBLEM: Suds or air are in the water pump
FIX: Check for sudsy water. If you see excessive suds, try to drain the dishwasher by cancelling the cycle. The drain pump will run for 3 minutes. If the drain pump can't drain the sudsy water, drain the water by hand or use a wet/dry shop vacuum to remove the water. Check the detergent dispenser and replace if it's damaged. Use only dishwasher detergent in the dishwasher. Using regular dish soap in the dishwasher causes excessive suds. If you don't see excessive suds, check the water fill level in the tub because low water level causes air in the pump.

CODE: 6-4 or F6E4
PROBLEM: The float switch is open
FIX: Check the overfill float switch to see if it's stuck or if an item is stuck under it. Check if the inlet water fill valve is properly shutting off the water supply when the dishwasher is off.

CODE: 6-6 or F6E6
PROBLEM: Incoming water is too cold
FIX: Use an accurate thermometer to check the water temperature. If it's lower than 110 degrees F, check your water heater. water heater. If the water temperature is normal (110 to 120 degrees F), replace the thermistor/OWI or the electronic control board. Refer to the tech sheet for your dishwasher for a diagnostic test for the thermistor.

CODE: 7-1 or F7E1
PROBLEM: Heating element doesn't work
FIX: Shut off power to the dishwasher. Inspect the heating element and replace it if it's visibly damaged. If not, check the wiring to the heating element. If the wiring is intact, replace the heating element.

CODE: 9-1 or F9E1
PROBLEM: Electronic control board can't detect the position of the diverter disc
FIX: The diverter motor positions the disc that directs the water through the lower spray arm or the upper spray arm. The diverter motor also monitors the position of the diverter disc and sends position signals to the electronic control board. Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect power and check the wiring going to the diverter motor. Reconnect any loose wires or replace the wire harness if damaged.

CODE: 9-2 or F9E2
PROBLEM: Diverter motor is stuck on
FIX: The diverter relay on the electronic control board is defective. Unplug the dishwasher to disconnect electrical power and replace the electronic control board.

I have had Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) refrigerators for many years now. The older side by side was efficient but difficult to fit all frozen items in especially Pizza Boxes. So the newer Freezer I have is a Bottom Drawer Freezer, which may seem like a good Idea but is quite the puzzle to use efficiently. Most of the time, items are just stacked and get lost or hidden so you wind up taking more things out just to get to what you want. This type of freezer is not user friendly, but I guess is designed to allow better use of the Refrigerator portion of the unit. One last note, mine do not seal properly and frost built up around the drawer and now Whirlpool needs to replace it, the refrigerator is less than 1 year old and was $4,200.

Ice dispenser never sealed properly. Ice bin would freeze solid and local repair wasnt satisfactory. Finally, after the electric panel on the freezer door shorted out, we were told we needed an entire new door for over $1700. These doors are apparently made when ordered, so it took over 8 weeks to get the first door. It arrived crushed and unusable. Then the morons at KitchenAid made a second door, which also arrived damaged and unusable. Now we are waiting for third door to be delivered. DO NOT BUY ANY KITCHENAID MAJOR APPLIANCE! We had GE refrigerators for decades and never had a problem. KitchenAid goes out of its way to make crap and offend customers!

Purchases and installed 2/2015. Been using the top oven. Went to use the bottom one Christmas day, it kept blowing the fuse. Cant understand what is going on. I have read reviews of the oven shutting down when cleaning both but not using. If this is the case, why isnt there a recall on these ovens? Spending over 2600 on oven, you expect it to work and the problems getting solved but its not. Unfortunately Kitchenaid was closed but I plan on getting this problem solved or they can pick it up and dump it. Hum. American made. Theyre not being tested before selling them. Sorry I am not a big fan of Kitchenaid. At this time wish I had my Jenn-Air back. Old faithful never let me down. Merry Christmas Kitchenaid. Hope your ovens work today.

Our KitchenAid Refrigerator was delivered in April 2012 along with 3 other KitchenAid appliances as part of a renovation. In August 2015 the fridge stopped cooling both the fridge and freezer to the proper temperatures. We are now 1 year later having had 7 visits by the authorized repair company and 3 calls to the KitchenAid expert tech line. It still doesnt work and they refuse to declare it non-repairable. Worst appliance experience of my life.

KitchenAid Range Model # YKESA907PB00I bought a KitchenAid electric range in 2006, black in color. First time using it, the paint scraped off the top of the control panel from a pan, exposing the aluminum beneath the pan. I replaced the control panel face plate with a stainless steel on so that this wouldnt become an issue again. A few months later, the off button stopped working on the control panel. Yesterday, I opened the oven door and an error code came up telling me that I need to replace the control panel. This will be the third control panel on this piece of ** in 5 years. How pathetic is that! Appliances are supposed to last 20-30 years, not 5, especially after paying $1800 for it. I now know that the KitchenAid name is nothing but marketing hype. I will never again purchase a KitchenAid appliance and strongly urge others to do the same.

We bought a KitchenAid dishwasher 2 1/2 years ago and the motor just stopped working. The repair guy was even surprised. After calling KitchenAid, they would not help with anything... not one penny. The woman I spoke to was so apologetic and felt my aggravation. But, thats no consolation. I would never purchase another KitchenAid product, again.

I own a KitchenAid dishwasher model # KUDI01ILBL6. We purchased it on Feb. 1, 2005. I had some trouble with it recently and took it apart. Not all the lights on the touch pad would light up and most of the time it would not start. I opened it up. Then I disconnected the ribbon coming from the touch pad that goes to the circuit board and cleaned it with Deoxit (contact cleaner). Put it back together and all worked fine for a while. Today I ran it and nothing would light up, plus theres water standing in the bottom of the tub. Yes there is power to the unit and the fuse on the circuit board is good. It will not do anything at all.

Ive had a KitchenAid dishwasher for 5 years. In March, it stopped running. And after some debate, I finally got KitchenAid to pay for parts (the control panel) which were covered under warranty. One week later, the control panel failed. And again, KitchenAid replaced the control panel. Today, the control panel failed again. When I called KitchenAid, they refused to replace the faulty part. Apparently, the warranty expired 2 days ago. Even though the part or parts have been faulty, they refused to replace them. At this point, I am better off buying a new unit, because the same thing will probably happen again. Oh, Ive been paying for all the labor charges each time it breaks. Plus, the KitchenAid microwave just broke too.

I have a KitchenAid Superba double wall oven (#KEBC208KSS) needing a new electronic panel. It no longer cleans and the oven light doesnt always turn off. I have been told it needs a new panel (again). This is my second KitchenAid Superba oven. I replaced the last oven because the panel had to be replaced three times but only twice under warranty. Then we moved and the house we bought had the same ovens. The cost of these panels installed is now nearly $500 with only a 90-day warranty! I also have a hard time believing KitchenAid continues to make a faulty product and sells it for nearly $3,000. Ive ordered new ovens of different brand. Its tough to believe they cant find a way to fix the issues with their electronic panels.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher was purchased about two and a half years ago. The model is KUDS301XSS1 for over $1000 from HH Gregg Appliances. One and a half years into its use, it had a repair for $215 for a $30 fuse. The rest was labor because nothing on the dish washer would operate. The compartments that hold the knives, forks and spoons in place are held up on the sides of the utensil tray by bread twiggies to keep them from constantly falling into the respective sections. If anyone is experiencing this problem, the twiggies have been working now for over a year. The bottom panel which is plastic is held to the metal frame with cheap plastic that breaks. It is now held on by, you guessed it, another bread twiggie. Last week, the roller on the upper rack broke off of the cheap plastic spindle that holds it to more plastic parts on the rack. Now it is engineered by an ingenious screw washer fed by a strong plastic tie through a small washer fed through the opening of the roller and twisted onto the plastic frame on the upper rack. This works as long as one doesnt force the rack open. One should note that the end stops on the rack are made up of more cheap plastic parts that are quite fragile and will probably break in time. The dishwasher does clean dishes and is silent, but the cheapness of all these parts leaves me with one opinion - KitchenAid and Whirlpool do not care about making a good appliance. The KitchenAid was a replacement for two previous Whirlpools that gave decent service. I sold appliances in the past and know that KitchenAid made by Hobart was quite a top of the line dishwasher. My advice now - not worth the purchase price, not worth buying so let buyer beware. Because of this atrocious record, the rest of the new appliances in our kitchen went to Frigidaire. I have read many other complaints from others on the internet about this fuse that keeps going out. My repairman left the instructions for replacement so I can do it myself.

We purchased this dishwasher in December 2013. We immediately noticed that the dishes on the top rack and in the utensil tray were coming out dirty, in some cases dirtier than when they went in. In particular, the coffee cups had a baked on residue of detritus that meant we needed to wash them by hand after soaking for a while. We contacted the vendor, Corbeil Electric, who referred us to Whirlpool to get the dishwasher repaired. We had a repair done in January 2014, which did not fix the problem although it was better. We had another repair done in about March, and we waited for a new piece for more than a month. The problem recurred in the summer, and we had it repaired again (same piece replaced) in September. 1 week later, the same problem is still happening. If someone had mentioned in the reviews that the dishwasher did not get the dishes clean, we would not have purchased it. The service from Whirlpool is appallingly bad, with wait times up to 30 minutes to get through to the service line and they apologize profusely each time but say they cannot do anything about our dud dishwasher. The dishwasher is very quiet, but the dishes are dirty when they come out.

KitchenAid refrigerator is making loud sounds, so I call service man. Could not get control board to fix. Wanted to charge for time and fan, so took appliance apart in pieces. Called Whirlpool. Told needed extended warranty for $400 for service. Next day service told me no part as not made. Rebuilt was only option without warranty & 2 weeks of waiting & if faulty, continue to return until they make it right. Receiving harassing phone calls (2 times) from first service man with demand of $275.00 at almost midnight. Out $400.00 & refrigerator does not work. Cant go without insulin as diabetic. Told have to keep warranty for years if needs service. Class Action lawsuit is necessary. (Refrigerator is about $9,000.)

Background: Purchased $6500 of appliances in November of 2010. Refrigerator, Oven/Cooktop combo, Dishwasher, and cabinet mounted Microwave. The only one weve not had issues with is the Microwave. Lets work in the order they are listed: 1> Refrigerator, YEAR 2 >> Freezer door would not properly close. 2 service calls later issue fixed. YEAR 5 >> Out of Warranty. Defroster drain line plugged with ice leaving the interior of the freezer coated in ice and the automatic defroster in operable. Went online, researched the issue and cleared the blockage after two hours of work. Year 6 >> Louder than usual noise when compressor running. Called my Appliance Technician, of thirty Years. Diagnosis issue as one or more bad springs in the compressor, allowing compressor rotor to contact the compressor housing. Contacted KitchenAid, explained the issue. Set up an appointment for the AM, two days later. Next day received phone call from the assigned Appliance Repair service saying they had an appointment scheduled for the PM next day. I explained I was told the appointment was for AM. They said no. They made it for the PM. Okay, right hand doesnt know what the left hands doing. Was also informed there would be a $109.00 service fee for coming out to diagnose the problem. Told them what my Technician had diagnosed. Said they would have to look at it. I asked how much the repair would be if it was compressor. They told me it would be a flat fee and wouldnt be able to quote me an estimate until THEY diagnosed the problem. I asked if the service call fee would be applied to the cost of the labor. They said no, it would be in addition to the labor. Called KitchenAid again. Asked if the parts could be sent to my Appliance Repair Technician? They said no, they could only be sent to a certified Appliance repair shop. KitchenAids definition of a certified shop is one that has a contract with them. Anyway. No other options, called Payless Appliance back and kept the appointment. Technician arrives, listens for the noise, He said the compressor was running and the only noise he could hear was coming from flap/door that allowed Freezer air into the Refrigerator to keep the Refrigerator at the correct temperature. I told him that the noise he was hearing was not the same rattling I would hear when the compressor was running. He said the compressor was running and that was the only noise coming from the unit. During the diagnosis process the Technician opens the Freezer drawer and says its not adjusted properly, and thats most likely whats causing the ice build up in the freezer. He adjusted the drawer. $109.00 later, Freezer drawer is more difficult to open and close and the noise is still there. I inquired if there would be another service call fee when the noise returned. He said, yes, there probably would be since the only thing he could hear was that door/flap noise.Dishwasher: Year 4 > Out Of Warranty. Control Panel starts flashing codes. Called my usual Appliance Tech. He diagnosed the issue as a defective heating coil. Ordered the part and called me when it arrived and was able install it the same. When I ask for a bill, He quoted me the cost and told me to use the Dishwasher for few days to make sure that took care of the issue.Oven: Year 1 >> Under Warranty. Cooking dinner, and the oven starting flashing an over heat error message. Attempted to the oven off, but no controls worked. Checked the trouble shooting section of the owners manual and still nothing worked. Not sure if the oven was still on, I shut off the power at the circuit breaker, waited an hour and turned the power back on. Unknown what the issue was but it has not happened again. Bottom line: $6500.00 worth of Appliances and only one of four has been without issues. Will never purchase another KitchenAid, Whirlpool or any other Appliance made by that group.

We bought all new KitchenAid appliances for our renovated kitchen about three years ago. The refrigerator has gone out numerous times - we have to unplug it and plug it back in to make it come back on. Ice maker has stopped working at least 5 or 6 times. We’ve had a repairman out here at least four time who told us KitchenAid knows about the problems but doesn’t have a permanent fix. Our freezer quit working today for the third or fourth time. This is a crappy refrigerator. I’ll never buy KitchenAid products again.

I bought the Kitchenaid 5 door refrigerator (French Door) in May 2016. The ice maker went out a couple months after I got it and it was replaced and then 2 more times it was replaced in less than 6 months. I decided that maybe the water filter was the problem and didnt replace it. Took it out and didnt have any more problems with the ice maker. Now only 3..5 years later it started having more problems but not with the Ice Maker. It completely stopped cooling and everything in the freezer thawed out and had to be thrown away including things in the refrigerated area. I researched and they no one will provide an extended service on it because they dont cover french door refrigerators. Now I know why they require too much service and dont work well. I called a repairman and will have to wait a few days for them to come out. Lo and behold I was woke up this morning to the sound of ice cubes dropping into the bucket. It has started cooling again. I am still having someone come out but am wary of this refrigerator and dont trust it. I spent over 3 thousand for it 3 years ago and never again will have a french door refrigerator or a Kitchenaid one.

KitchenAid Model #KUDS30IVBT, 4 cycles, 6 options Architect SeriesII. I researched to find a dishwasher with a few upscale options at a reasonable price ($700). I also wanted the silverware rack separate & not built in to the dishwasher itself. This gives me heavy duty, normal, light/China & rinse only options. I also have a Pro scrub for those dirty pots & pans, a Sani-rinse, a high temp scrub, heat dry, and a 4 hr delay.

Wow, did you get the exact same guy I got? Maybe from the Orlando area? Because I got the same lame crap, and I am a former KitchenAid rep. Back when they were built by Hobart till the last year they were purchased by Whirlpool. I warned them that I might just know a little bit about dishwashers, and the guy comes in with a thermometer in his hand. I played dumb, and let him not worry about the 160 degree water going in, which then meant that my water must be too hard, using the wrong soap, and my dog is too big. I let him leave, and then after a thorough internal exam, found the wash arm hub split, causing the arms to hit the manifold in the back (super scrubber thing). All in all a pretty crappy machine. They sent me a wash arm and support, which I replaced. Solved the redeposit problem, but not the horrible soap film. That turns out to be a short fill cycle in the main wash. Sorry sir, but you are three months out of warranty. Even though they knew this unit was causing washability problems from the get-go. Wow. Way different from the company I worked for for 8 years.

Kitchenaid refrigerator model ksrg25fvms - I bought this appliance in 2009
Kitchenaid refrigerator model ksrg25fvms - I bought this appliance in 2009 for $1,765. When I received it, I immediately started having problems. In the first 90 days, there were problems with the freezer. When the repairman came to fix it, he didnt do anything. He just said to unplug the fridge and it will fix itself. We continued having problems with it, and recently there is an accumulation of water in the fridge under the bottom compartments. We called to get it fixed, and KitchenAid said that we would have to buy a one year extended warranty to fix it. We did. The repairman came and said that a small pea was blocking the pipe, and that’s why there was water. That is not accurate and he charged $349 just to give this stupid diagnosis. We are extremely unsatisfied and would advise people not to buy KitchenAid fridges; it was quite expensive and defective. It has been giving problems since the beginning, and customer service is of no help. Instead of making people buy expensive warranties, they should just make products that are built to last and that are highly functional.

Called my service guy, he comes out, checks it out and states it has a freon leak. This involves the sealed system, a repair he does not do. Whirlpool was called and this issue was discussed. An authorized service provider from Whirlpool was sent out and yes it is a sealed system leak but he does not do sealed system repairs. I pay him his diagnostic fee. Called Whirlpool again and another provider is sent out to ascertain that yes it is a sealed system problem and guess what I get to pay another diagnostic fee. Whirlpool stated they sent out the first provider because they are on the List. Somehow this appears to be my problem that they sent out a company that doesnt do the repair that was clearly the issue per my appliance guy. I called to see if Whirlpool would cover one of these fees but nope. I wasted one hour and five minutes on the phone and got zero satisfaction. I also want to add that this repair parts and labor are covered under warranty so it seems doubly ridiculous that I have to pay two service fees. There will never be another Whirlpool, KitchenAid appliance in this house again.

I have never complained publicly before but for the protection of other consumers, I must share what happened to me yesterday with my KitchenAid stove and oven that I purchased 7 years ago for $1,245.00 (model number KGRA806PBT). It is supposed to be the top of the line product with convection oven. First of all, I agree with many people who have written here. I tried the self-cleaning oven one time when I first purchased it and it overheated and the thermal protector failed. The part was covered but not the service call ($100.00). I have never used the self-cleaning feature since. Also, for the past year, the oven has not always worked. As it heats up, I will often get an error sign on the panel. So, I just have not done much baking. Yesterday, I was not even using the stove or oven, and I heard a hissing noise in the kitchen and then a popping sound and then fire! The printed circuit board started a fire in the oven which immediately filled the entire kitchen with black smoke and flames. If I had not been home, I would have lost my house! But I happened to have been home! My husband was also home, although he was supposed to be at work. Thankfully he had a fire extinguisher in the barn so before much damage was done, he had the fire out. Of course Elders Appliance in Grandville, MI, where we bought the stove and oven, (and all our other KitchenAid appliances) said they have never had any complaints! Ya, right! Please do not ever buy a KitchenAid product. Terrible!

I purchased, unfortunately, the complete upper end Kitchenaid appliance for our kitchen 5 years ago from Home Depot and with the extended warranty with Asurion. Within 2 years the dishwasher had many problems that required several repairs: new computer board, new pump, new door, new seals, new wash arms and more. The self clean for the oven never works at all and never fixed. The microwave often refuse to work at all and must unplug and wait 15 or more minutes to work and never fixed. The worse... the $3500 French door refrigerator freezer has died 4 times. Needs new defective wire system that the fix damaged interior parts that were never covered or fixed. Next the freezer fans died. Next the ice maker stopped making ice...still waiting for that fix. And now the water will not flow as well. And each time we must shut it down and lose lots of food. Asurion coverage is slow and limited and uses distant repair companies that break things and never follow through for many weeks. Do not buy their coverage. Home Depot never back these awful appliance either. And Kitchenaid simply does not care and says sorry its is not their problem. Worse appliance I ever had in over 50 years. Avoid at all costs.

The Kitchenaid French Door refrigerator (KFIS25XVMS8) has an ice dispenser that is poorly designed. When you remove your glass from the dispenser, the dispenser continues to eject ice, all over the hardwood floor. This has occurred since the refrigerator was purchased six months ago. The repairman sent by Kitchenaid said that this was normal operation and could not be fixed. Kitchenaids customer service said the same thing. This is a terrible design and makes the ice dispenser unusable. The refrigerator is otherwise OK.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher model # KDUC031VWH on 1/8/11. Two days after the warranty expired, the unit started making a strange buzzing noise during the wash cycle. When I emailed KitchenAid about service to the unit under a good faith extension of the warranty, a customer service agent responded and informed me that my only recourse since the warranty was two days out of service was to purchase an extended warranty (over $250) or pay for a service call. You would think that a company took more pride in their product and would honor a request for warranty service for that extra two days. We will never buy a KitchenAid product again and I told the Customer servce rep this same thing. Her response was, Oh Well!

We have had KitchenAid dishwashers for 20 years. I got this dishwasher three years ago after six months, it wasn’t cleaning the dishes. The repairman came out and told me that I was using the wrong detergent. I switched to Cascade. The fact that you need to buy a special detergent to go with these dishwashers seemed pretty peculiar, but I did it. Since then I’ve had a repairman out three times because it leaks, wasn’t cleaning the dishes, water wasn’t emptying, and now all of the wheels have dissolved and fallen off the dishwasher on the bottom rack. They have melted onto the drying bar. I am grateful they didn’t start a fire. The repairman came out and told me that I was using the detergent Cascade and that dissolves the plastic on the dishwasher wheels.... WHAT???? I finally called kitchenaid and she told me that have never heard of this ever happening and that my warranty was out. I told them that not have if any wheels on my bottom rack was inexcusable and I demanded they send me wheels. Finally they said they would. That was 7 days ago. They said they would send them but if I couldn’t put them on I’d have to hire someone, they would not pay for that. I am very disappointed in kitchen aid, and will never, ever buy another.

The KitchenAid refrigerator we recently installed (1 week ago on 08/06/2020) model KBFN502ESS02 - a built-in model (at about $9,000.) does not hold -5 degrees F in the freezer. Some of the foods we use like that temperature. The documentation about the model in the User Manual says the set point for the freezer is -5 degrees F to 3 degrees F. We set -5 F into the system. We today 8/12/2020 had a service tech (factory authorized) check the freezer and he found that the average temp in the freezer from the diagnostic panel showed 0 degrees F over the last 10 hours. The factory rep he talked to said that was within specs. There are no specs in any document other than the set point can be as stated above. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID. Their products look good but don’t believe any documentation or specs.

Purchased four KitchenAid appliances three years ago for a complete kitchen remodel. Very disappointed. The exhaust fan on the microwave is extremely noisy. The handles on my fridge are always needing to be retightened. Happily the dishwasher is perfect. But my biggest complaint, if you slightly bump the knobs on the gas range (KSGB900ESS0) it lets out gas. You wont even know this until you start smelling it. So even cleaning it you have to be very aware to look at the knobs and make sure they are in the off position. This is a major safety issue. If I cant find a recall, Ill probably just throw it away and buy another brand. I bought all KitchenAid from its reputation/reviews but would not recommend to anyone...

Our KitchenAid dishwasher W10321621D has to be located just below the busiest food prep/washing counter. After starting, it appears if theres the slightest bump against the washer, it will shut off - all lights go out. It wont even hold the point where it needs to resume. We have to put in more soap and restart the process. Sometimes we dont realize what has happened until the next day. A younger family member will open the dishwasher. Ill start unloading and then realize the contents are still not clean, figured out what happened, and then try to figure out what has to go back in! Very aggravating. It could have something to do with the exposed touchpad on the front, even though we have been so cognizant not to touch while running. We now have to put a chair in front of the dishwasher every time it runs to make sure no one goes within 2 feet of it. Hard to work around.

I learned Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer service definition: The customer is responsible for serving KitchenAid/Whirlpool. I purchased a YKDSS907SS04 less than a year ago. The burners do not work correctly, heating unevenly and either taking too long to cook or burning food. I contacted Customer service, who gave the call to their local authorized service center. They called me back telling me they are not licensed to work on dual fuel ranges and would send the call back to Whirlpool/KitchenAid. Then the nightmare began. I received a call from Whirlpools re-scheduling department telling me to find a local repair shop and send them the bill. I refused. It is not my job to do their job. I followed up with a fax, received a call from their Executive Office - a woman named Carrie **. I could not take the call at the time. I called her back several times over the period of a week and only received a prompt return call after I threatened to contact my attorney. The story did not change - since Whirlpool cannot provide customer service, it is my job as their customer to provide service to them by finding a repair shop in the local Yellow Pages. Nothing changed. The story the same - different name. When I suggested to Ms. ** that Whirlpool should not sell their products in a market where they cannot service them, she told with a screaming tone of voice, that Whirlpool did not sell me the unit directly - but wholesaled it to Sears. Oh well. Forgive my poorly informed status. I initiated the service call reluctantly since I am uncomfortable about the fact that this is not a KitchenAid service provider. However, I will probably get much better service from them - since KitchenAid expect me - their customer - to service them. Carrie ** constantly interrupted me, screamed, and informed me that she would note my file that I refused to find a local provider, which would delay the warranty repair process and be noted in any legal action. BTW does a delayed return phone call qualify? Ms. **s voice mail states that she returns calls within 48 business hours. Well, she only works 8 hour days - I forgot - meaning it takes 6 days to receive a call.

I used to use environmentally friendly dishwasher soap but had to go to a heavy strength brand now. My wife and I built a new house and moved in 8/2003. We purchased all KitchenAid appliances. We had to replace the ice maker twice on our 2003 refrigerator. The 2003 range top stove control panel does not work properly. The 2003 microwave completely stopped working at the end of 2011. The front door cracked in 2008 since it hits a screw at the underside. I purchased 3 new KitchenAid appliances after having my Sears brand for many years 20 plus and not having one issue with them in that time period. I have had my KitchenAid appliance for less than 3 mos when I started to have problems with the french door model making funny loud noises when making ice. It took 3 service calls before they could resolve the problem. Now after a year, it is doing it again. Called the service dept and they are less than helpful to help remedy the problem, which is a defect from the start. My KitchenAid double oven after 6 months needed repair. During a Thanksgiving meal, it refused to heat up to the desired temperature needed. Again, another call to service man, time off from work to wait. The problem was covered under warranty. It took the service department two times to get the problem fixed. This should not be happening to a new appliance, unless it is terrible workmanship from the factory. Now, after a year and a half, my KitchenAid dishwasher is having leakage problems. It has not paid to spent the money they ask for these appliances and get such faulty appliances. NEVER AGAIN KITCHENAID!

I purchased a full set of Kitchenaid appliances 2 years ago. My purchase included a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and microwave. Close to $10,000 worth of appliances. My experience with the refrigerator and Kitchenaids support had been a nightmare. (For clarification, Im middle aged, this is the 5th home I have owned and remodeled in my lifetime, and I consider myself reasonably intelligent with reasonable expectations.) I have had issues with the refrigerator within the first month of installation. - The water dispenser was and is incredibly loud. You can hear it on the other side of house. The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a fault in the design and nothing could be done - The ice maker would randomly defrost and leak all over the floor: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a fault in the design and nothing could be done. If the left door was left slightly ajar, the alarm would not go off: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was the design, and that one particular door is impacted and there was nothing wrong with the unit. - The lights on the inside of the unit would randomly not work, but then work 1 hour to 2 days later: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a head-scratcher, But because it was functioning when he looked at it, nothing to be done.I decided to purchase an extended warranty because I was already nervous about the longevity of the unit. During that extended warranty time, the previously mentioned items continued. Three weeks after the warranty expired, the unit basically died. It would randomly defrost the entire freezer and only come back on by flipping the breaker several times. The interior lights would not work about 30% of the time and the water dispenser would randomly stop working. When the freezer would start to thaw, so would the ice in the icemaker... and leak all over the floor. I had a different repair person come out. I was not going to have the same useless waste of time company come out if it was going to be out of my pocket. They replaced the entire motor. It worked for two days, and started the process again. They then replaced one of the primary computer boards. $1100 later, it worked for 3 weeks and then started thawing, defrosting, lights off, etc again. The thing is either possessed or a total lemon.

Purchased a Kitchen aid dishwasher on 01/21/21 to replace a Kitchen Aid dishwasher that did not last 3 years. Was not what I wanted but beggars cant be choosers. Model number KDFM404KPSO, the first issue was that it smelled like an oil refinery when operating, and still does. Called the manufacturer, and was told oh that is the material they used to help with heat retention. It should dissipate in 6 months or so. Believe me that this smell was/ is nauseating. Second issue was the noise level. It was touted as one of the quietest on the market, believe me it is not. It was making noises that the service rep sent to check it out could not explain. Now scheduled for a complete rebuild after less than 2 months.Third issue. It does not get some of the dishes dry especially on the top racks, and yes we use a drying agent. Both kitchen aid dishwashers have proven unreliable, but at least while the old one worked it did not stink up my kitchen, and you could not tell it was running when standing over it. Will NEVER buy another product made by this manufacturer, and they make several different brands.

Our KitchenAid dishwasher was purchased & installed about two and a half years ago (Dec 11). The model is KUDS35FXSS4 for over $1000 from HH Gregg Appliances. We also purchased the extended warranty which is thru Federal Warranty Service Corp. We are having the same, repeating top rake wheels failure (3 times so far - every 9 to 12 months) that many others are experiencing. 1st time was under warranty bought from them... Of course the ext warranty does NOT cover wheels and rollers so downtime, parts, labor, aggravation, etc is on us. Thought KitchenAid was a reputable brand like Maytag 20+ years ago (before they went out of business for poor quality and reliability).Wrote KitchenAid a letter explaining and complaining about our recurring issue over a month ago and have heard nothing. Like many others on this site wed thought there would have been a recall or a part redesign to address this design failure but we see no change in parts when we reorder, over and over again. Funny, the parts supplier acknowledged they are sending out a lot of this specific part to address this specific problem. Anyone know how to initiate a class action lawsuit? Based on all the responses read on this site looks like we certainly have the beginnings of one. With so many out of work lawyers right now it could be a way for some of them to get started. It goes without saying (but we are saying it anyway) we are forever done with any future KitchenAid appliances.

After a few months of use, the side of the maple cabinet next to the dishwasher began to turn black and we noticed it getting hot when the dishwasher was being used. We uninstalled the dishwasher and noticed the panel was delaminating opposite the vent on the dishwasher. We called for service and they looked at the problem. And after they called KitchenAid, they said there was nothing wrong with the dishwasher and the vent could not leak steam because it was only open when the water was filling to vent the pressure and because of the weight of the small plastic door, it could not let steam out. I purchased a KitchenAid stove in 2006. In 2008, the electrical panel needed to be replaced. The electrical panel again has once again failed me, and the company says Im on my own because the warranty for electric has expired and it’s not a quality issue. First off, this is an ongoing problem with the electrical panel which is an obvious quality issue. Also, there is a slight bend on the front of the stove which causes water to seep in and destroy the panel over time. KitchenAid customer service could care less and left me hanging out to dry. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again and I highly advice anyone interested in this product to stay as far away as possible. My new KitchenAid double wall oven exploded 1 1/2 hour into the self-clean cycle. Shattered glass flew out the oven, spraying all over my kitchen and out into other rooms of the house. I couldnt get near it to shut it off, because glass shards kept recirculating in the convection oven out the vent. So I ran out to shut off the circuit breaker. I spent 2 hours cleaning up the mess. I vacuumed out, but the glass in both ovens that is stuck in gaskets surrounding doors spills out of hinges every time I open the door. I want a new oven, because I dont want glass shards in my food; and what is going to happen when I run the cycle on the bottom oven? It is a miracle no one got hurt, except for the cut on my daughters foot from a small piece I missed. I am scared to death, and I havent had an oven to cook with for my family since it happened in May. I have already spoken to my lawyer.

I called Kitchen Aid, 800-422-1230. I was told the staining is normal. It is considered cosmetic and not covered under warranty. The doors are also cosmetic, even though I would need a repair man to disassemble the doors in order to clean them. I would not purchase this high-end item again, EVER. Although it cooks wonderfully, I want it to look clean. I am going to pull out the oven and purchase a different unit because having a double wall oven that cannot be cleaned is out of the picture in my house, as I am sure it is in yours.

Refrigerator model KRSC700HPS just over 1 year old. Has been icing up inside the freezer and refrigerator causing air blockage so temp of refrigeration at 60 degrees. Told by repair service that they first need to replace thermostat and fan units. Then if ice repeats have to replace the control unit. All parts on backorder so have to do without the refrigerator for who knows how long. Repairman said even a replaced control unit may not fix the problem. Over $2,300 loss. Just learned that there is a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool regarding this problem with defective Control Units causing ice build-up in many of their different branded refrigerators.

Most unbelievable experience I have ever had in my life with an appliance (KFGG500EWH2), the other KitchenAid products have been fine? I bought this oven before Thanksgiving on 11-15-17. My wife just noticed now on December 25, 2017 that the top of the oven door and around the controls the white paint is turning Brown?!? I havent hardly used the oven but a half dozen times, a couple of pizzas and the turkey on Thanksgiving. We noticed on day one the stove top was more than just hot to the touch on Thanksgiving...more like untouchable!!! I will check the temperature now to see how hot it is getting. My guess is if it isnt a design defect, there may be some insulation missing in the door and or around the front of the stove top... Im not taking it apart to see why... This is more than disappointing. I will contact the manufacturer and the distributor ABT tomorrow to see what they will do. I have never seen anything like this before, this is the 3rd oven I have owned in my life, and never had this issue. I will post the receipt tomorrow if it lets me append this.

Do I have to give even one star? I would rather have neon or negative stars
Do I have to give even one star? I would rather have neon or negative stars. I purchased the full range of KitchenAid equipment (microwave, dishwasher KUDS02VR and gas range, architect II). Fortunately for us, we also purchased the extended warranty even though I thought with top end equipment we probably would not need it.The microwave has had multiple call outs over the 4 years of owning the piece: F2 errors, cooling fans that dont just turn on but partially start then stop then start for a second then stop and start for 10 minutes or so at a time. Its driving me nuts! The dishwasher has trouble cleaning anything. It leaves dishes dirty and the glasses have developed white film on them. Dishwasher has gotten clogged and according to the technician because we have the audacity to use it . We now use dishwasher magic every month.Range oven: First of all, the door lock keeps locking with an error when you use the oven above 400F and you cannot open the oven door until it has cooled down and you reboot the system by removing power, this you have to do multiple time before the door complies. We replaced locking mechanism, now it seems to work at last. Secondly, every time you use the clean oven function, the electronics go on the frizz. Now, we are without an oven again for a week while we get a technician to come again to look and hopefully fix the electronic issue.Through all this (including digital movies of the issues, pictures etc., sent to KitchenAid), the general response has been that all equipment works as designed. Works as designed! They should fire the designers and send the specs to some elementary school kids who could do a better job!I, for one, hate KitchenAid and will never buy another product from them again and will tell as many people as I can how lousy their products are.

KitchenAid stove - KESA907PSS (ARCHITECTSERIES). Almost burned my house down last night - 10-05-2016. Well one of the knobs got stuck on this stove and had a mind of its own sometimes. I worked on and off. Then last night I was cooking on one stove top and baking at the same time all of a sudden the panel got piping hot and started to smoke. Could not touch the panel and I smelled fire and then I lost power to the stove. I read reviews about this particular model and two people said that it caught on fire and they caught it in time. I threw it away and I will never buy this brand again. I paid 1500 dollars for this slide in glass top stove. I dont know why KitchenAid is not standing behind their products. Why dont they admit there is a problem with the stove and recall it. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID.

I will never buy a KitchenAid appliance again. Our warranty just ran out and the fridge stopped working. We call certified repair and were told that the Tsunami had destroyed their plant and they no longer had the parts in order to repair the fridge. They told me they could rebuild the board but no guarantee would be given for the part and it would take anywhere from 2-3 months to rebuild. The fridge was 5 years and two months old. This is the worst customer service I have ever been given and the most rude responses by the executive offices. I will never - repeat never buy another appliance by KitchenAid or Whirlpool again. Purchased a $7000 Kitchen Aid refrigerator 6 years ago (KSSO48FTX02) at the suggestion of the salesman at JC Perreault in Montreal. Thankfully our $25,000 purchase of appliances did not include any other Kitchen Aid products as my recent problem has been nothing short of a customer service nightmare. Our refrigerator, which other than a constant noise problem, had been relatively reliable. Last month, a constant beeping sound and on/off of a motor was observed. In addition the control panel lights were constantly flashing whenever the door was opened. For 3 days - getting through the 800 number was impossible - so I was forced to call an outside tech. Upon hearing of the problem he informed me that there was a 90% chance the motherboard was fried. I told him to come over anyhow and in 5 minutes of pressing buttons he confirmed it - AND that the replacement part was DISCONTINUED by Kitchen Aid because of the Tsunami in Japan 5 years ago! The only fix would be a black market repair and it would cost me $2000, and it might not even work! When I finally got through to customer service at KA, they confirmed that the part was no longer being made and they suggested I check out Ebay or Amazon for replacements! The nightmare continues as I try to decide whether or not to cut my losses and buy a new fridge - and remodel my kitchen in the process since this one was built-in. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE ANY PRODUCT MADE BY KITCHEN AID, or Whirlpool or Jenn-air.

In mid February I wrote a complaint about all the problems I had with my # kfis29 French door fridge. I contacted whirlpool who makes the unit and told them that when I call kitchen aid they wouldn`t do nothing for me! After a week the place that sold the unit to me who had nothing to do with the problem also called whirlpool and told them the story. Guess what? He told me to come in and pick out a new fridge of equal value and that whirlpool corp. was giving me a full refund. So the store rep, told me that he had very little problems with GE and that if he did GE backed him 100% so I bought a GE French door, super quiet and they also threw in a 5-year extended warranty! PS DON`T GIVE UP! KEEP CALLING UNTIL THEY SATISFY YOU. WE PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THESE AND JUST WANT WHAT WE PAY FOR! THE STORE I USED WAS RICHMOND APPLIANCE, STATEN ISLAND NEW YORK! We went with the KitchenAid suite of appliances because we liked the reviews we read about the dual fuel double oven range (KDRS505X). I like my oven a lot....except the cooking surface scratches so easily! How am I ever going to clean around the burners when it seems the surface scratches when barely touched. Our microwave hood (KHMS2040) had turned out to be a terrible choice. The vent fan is horribly loud. Service came out to look at it about 3 weeks ago and determined we needed a new motor. (That wont come for another 3 weeks). This past weekend, the fan AND microwave suddenly turned on by itself. The microwave light came on and the turntable started turning. And it was louder than ever. We couldnt turn it off by pushing the cancel button or the fan button. Finally had to unplug it. Now we are afraid to leave it plugged in. What if it turned on by itself and we werent home? Scary.

My built-in side-by-side stopped cooling almost a MONTH ago. I did call a highly rated Yelp repair company but they were honest and said that since it was still under limited warranty I should work directly with KitchenAid. Let me keep it short... Its ugly. KitchenAid is deliberately slowing down service and forcing me to work with someone who has terrible Yelp ratings. In fact I have spent $1,000 with this company and even though he claims to be able to diagnose the issues - KitchenAid tech backs him up - as of today my unit is having the same exact issue. We have replaced a heating coil that required 6 hours of labor (KitchenAid confirmed) and a compressor.I called another service company who indicated it is a simple problem that can be fixed easily. When I called KitchenAid and explained this, the customer service guy actually fought with me...refused to speak to me any further unless I gave him the phone number and name of the other company. They were so concerned that one of their authorized repair companies was questioned that they tried to intimidate me into thinking I was going to lose support. Bottom line - I asked for a supervisor and she was understanding. I begged her to send different service company but she refused. As I write this, my $12,000 refrigerator/freezer is not working, despite KitchenAid forcing me to spend $1,000 with their service person. It also still sounds like the engine from a small commercial plane, even though prior to that it was so silent. And no refrigeration still. And guess what? My service repair person will not call me back. KitchenAid is clearly trying to stall until warranty runs out. I will never buy another one of their products. To top it off, it is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

Kitchenaid Gas free standing range. I always thought Kitchenaid was a dependable brand. I believe this range cost us $1700. I liked that it had convection oven and that the grates on top covered the entire top so no matter what size pan or griddle you used it did not wobble. This range turned out to be the worst range I have ever owned! The repair man knew us by name including our dogs! The other terrible thing about it is we had to order this range and had to pay in advance of receiving it. Purchased at Westar in Tucson Arizona. The range did not come in for 5!!! Months.AND to make matters worse our warranty started from the day we ordered it! Kitchenaid policy! I went on facebook and wished I had done that before the purchase because there were literally hundreds and hundreds of complaints. When I suggested we all get together and start a class action law suit Kitchenaid blocked me from posting on their wall. I will NEVER buy a Kitchenaid again. My advice would be stay away from Kitchenaid. They are not what they used to be. You pay alot of money for nothing!I now research completely before I buy any appliances. I take my time, I ask around. Sometimes the less expensive brands are 100% better. It took so long to get this range that after my complaining weekly (because every week they said it would be in that week) they finally gave me a GE use in the meantime since I had NO range. The GE they loaned me was a $700 range but after finally getting the Kitchenaid I realized the GE ran circles around the KA.

KitchenAid double wall ovens/ WALL OVEN- ELE BI 30 - My LOWER oven (the one not used except on holidays) went out on me on CHRISTMAS as Im cooking a prime rib (at 500 degrees). The ovens have only been installed for a year! Got an error message asking for probe temperature. Wasnt using the probe although I do have the ability to use it. Checked the manual and found I did everything right. I then ended up with an under cooked prime rib for 13 guests. Thanks for that! Then I tried to clean the damned thing since it hadnt cleaned well after Thanksgiving (I usually try to do this when we are in bed because the fumes are so awful). Guess I know why it didnt clean! This time after waiting till everyone left, I opened the windows (glad its a warm December) and the oven wouldnt clean. Got an ERROR message this time of E3F3. Heck if I know what it means. They were able to schedule a service appointment quickly but if they have to order parts, then I have to have another service appointment. All I know is, Ive got an oven that doesnt work during the holidays (Im cooking for NY Day too). I called the extended warranty number and sat on hold for 42 minutes. THIS AFTER HAVING SPENT NEARLY 2 MONTHS TRYING TO GET MY BUILT IN KITCHEN AID DISHWASHER FIXED THAT HAS ONLY BEEN IN USE FOR 6 MONTHS! It needed an entire new drum. Nice since it already damaged my NEW cabinets and NEW floor in my NEW kitchen. No offer to fix the damage they caused even though they finally fixed the dishwasher. I bought this refrigerator in 2013 to replace a Superba Kitchenaid which I was very happy with. I loved the configuration of drawers, the french doors, the freezer with two shelves. It seemed very well thought-out design wise. I still love all these things. However, the most important thing a refrigerator and freezer can do is: keep refrigerator foods cold and keep frozen foods frozen. It also needs to be moderately quiet. One year ago we experienced problems with the ice maker and freezer. Unit began making a very very loud noise also. Over $500 later and a very unsatisfactory experience with A and E - will never use them again. There were multiple services calls which resulted in fees which they were supposed to reverse because of their error and they never did. A very frustrating experience. The unit stopped making ice again a few months ago and began to buzz very loudly. We experimented with various things: keeping the top shelf of the fridge empty, moving things around in the freezer. We began making ice in ice trays and transferring the ice to the dispenser. It would make ice intermittently. Then we began to notice foods werent frozen in the freezer. And the noise became Louder and louder and LOUDER. To the point I had to wear earplugs to bed. We are now working with a local company to see if their fixes work.Time will tell. I can hardly believe how many people Ive talked to have a similar story. It seems that refrigerators generally are junky. Something we all need. Yet they last 4 years? Our parents refrigerators lasted decades... If anyone has a recommendation of a refrigerator that could last 10 years let me know - Im pretty sure we will need to replace this 4 year old expensive model soon.

Repairman usually cant come for 10 days and then sometimes a part must be ordered and another visit made. In between time, we have no dishwasher. In 2013 I purchased a KitchenAid package of appliances for my house. Since last year I have had the repair people out on 5 different occasions and I am still having issues. The model number is KFIS29PBMS02. Initially I was having issues with the ice maker and freezer and the PO code which means powers failure. I was told to have an electrician check the outlet which I did and it was fine. They then said it was a circuit board but didn’t know which one and they recommend replacing both which we did. No sooner did they leave and the code popped up again. They said it must have been a bad board and replaced another board. After they left it acted up again. Tech came out and said it was a bad deli board which is the last thing the company wants to replace due to the cost. I told them ice machine is still not working right. He said I may need a new machine. I couldn’t afford one at this point after taking numerous days off from work to meet the repairman. Fridge had also frozen up and the guy defrosted with his heat gun and said KitchenAid knows that the condensers are bad because they are aluminum and they have been replacing them. Fridge froze up again, ice maker makes ice randomly say a tray a week if lucky. I put bought ice in the dispenser and it melts. They are coming to replace the condenser this week after making arrangements for someone to stay at my house to wait for the repairman.Talked to different repairman today before he came and told him the problem and he said it may not be the condenser which is under warranty still (5 years). Frustrated as hell and think there is class action status here. Customer service at Kitchenaid sucks. They do not care and basically told me I didn’t put enough money out to qualify as a lemon.

Frustrated and disappointed with KitchenAid regarding refrigerator model number KSC23C8EYY03 bought new in October 2014. Purchased refrigerator in October 2014 for residential use. In May 2016, owners observed ice accumulation behind the crisper drawers of the refrigerator. Items in fridge were not being cooled to appropriate temperature and freezer cold but not adequately freezing contents. Not under warranty at that time, owners called a local service company to review situation and a part was replaced.Owner then purchases a warranty, which was enacted in September 2016 when the same issue presented itself. Since then KitchenAid warranty has been called - February 2017, July 2017, October 2017, February 2018 and now April 26, 2018 - all for the same issue. The refrigerator is essentially inoperable during each service request every 2-5 months, resulting in food spoilage and loss of money. Owners are aware of the Lemon Law, however, there is no recognition on KitchenAid Warranty’s part on customer frustration regarding the investment of money into a product that has simply proven 6 times over that it does not work. It wasn’t until speaking with a KitchenAid Warranty supervisor today (April 2018) that owner was informed about the option of filing a food loss claim (again, after dealing with KitchenAid Warranty 5 times since September 2016). We again are having the refrigerator serviced, with the expectation that any repair would prove fruitless, a part will be replaced that won’t get us closer to a Lemon Law review, and resulting in a temporary fix that would need to again be serviced in 3 months time. The service repair technician who has serviced the unit all 6 times is equally frustrated that the solutions given to them by KitchenAid Warranty does not fully resolve the situation.

KitchenAid outsources all of their repairs to Whirlpool who has DESTROYED my $1500 stove in order to fix the fan. They have forced me to stay home from work for over 2 weeks worth of time due to repairs caused by the previous repair damage that theyve caused. Every time they leave I find another rookie mistake that has caused additional damage. I am FED up with this company and will never buy from them again. They refused to provide me a new stove when asked. I have had it. Still waiting on someone to come back out and fix the last damage theyve caused.

I am sorry I did not use this site before I purchased my KitchenAid refrigerator. Apparently, they do not stand by their shoddy product. I have had the same issues as most. The icemaker broke two years after purchase. Now after 6 years, the two circuit boards are broken and need to be replaced. The total cost for this could go up to $800. I had a service person look at it and replace the inverter board at a cost of $450. Two days later, the fridge got hot and service guy came back. He diagnosed that the main board needed to be replaced. KitchenAid does not even have this part anymore. Now I have to send out my part for repair and be without a fridge for more than a week. I purchased my KitchenAid French door fridge (Model # KFCS22EVWH2) new in Jan. of 2012. It is now September 2012 and I have a river flowing out of the bottom of my fridge. I have hardwood floors and the water is destroying them. I called Customer Service and a repairman came today. He explained that he reports this problem every day to KitchenAid. Apparently there is a small hole at the back of the freezer that allows condensation to drip into a pan under the freezer. When that hole becomes plugged, the water does not drain and creates an ice dam. When my kitchen heats up from weather or cooking, the ice melts and flows out of the freezer onto my floor. The only way to fix it is to unplug the fridge, let it defrost for 2 days and then plug it back in. Well, that does not fly with me. My husband and I are handicapped and we cannot go through this process every six months to save our floor. This is ridiculous. I called the company back and was told that this is new to them (right!) and they are sending another repair person in tomorrow. I dont know how this will turn out but I do know that I am not very happy right now. Can I trust the person tomorrow to tell me the truth? If he does get it to work, will the problem return after the warranty is up? Who fixes my floor? In all fairness to KitchenAid, I will post the results of tomorrows visit and a follow-up in a few months. I am in hopes that they will take care of this for me without a problem. I purchased a dishwasher and stove at the same time (also KitchenAid) so I hope that this is isolated and not an across-the-board disaster.

I have a kitchenaid side-by-side refrigerator with an ice maker and water dispenser on the door. This was not a cheap appliance at $2500.00. The ice maker has only worked on and off for a month out of the 11 months I have had this appliance. After four visits for repair and two door replacements at a cost of $1700.00 a door x 2 $3400.00 for door replacement alone not including a water valve replacement and labor for four trips, my ice maker still does not work. I asked a supervisor for a refund for my defective product. Was told they had to go through repair process. It would have been more cost effective to refund my money!! Still no resolution! No one wants to help! Totally frustrated, WILL NEVER BUY THIS BRAND AGAIN!!!!

NEVER BUY A KITCHENAID REFRIGERATOR!! EVER!! My refrigerator has not worked since my install in July, 2019. Multiple service calls with no resolution. When I call I am put on hold for an average time of 30 to 45 minutes. Today on a 53 minute wait, when I connected they transferred me to the dept. responsible for my exchange and now it says a 75 minute hold. Customer service people have been nice and pleasant, but the company as a whole has a real issue and are understaffed. In addition, when I call to discuss the issue they just want to sell an extended warranty. I paid over $3,800 for the refrigerator, so expectation would be that it would work and be a good product. IT IS NOT!

Kitchen Aid Range Model KSEG700ESS3. Our oven was purchased in late Sept 2019 and 7 weeks later, electric panel is fried. The smell and burning had progressed each time we used the oven. We are lucky this did not catch fire. The service person is saying that the part may have been discontinued. Wondering how Whirlpool corporation is going to rectify this as they do not replace appliances, just fix them under warranty.

We have a Kitchenaid KUDI01FLSS2 dishwasher. It came with the house we purchased six years ago - the unit was about 1 year old at the time. We have had constant problems: touch panel failed ($200), control board failed ($250), heater element failed which required a heater control board upgrade (design defect) ($250), chopper failed three times ($30 ea), door hinges failed, numerous plastic interior parts failed (all are overpriced), the door latch has a fundamental design problem (we have to use a clamp to keep the door from popping open in cycle). I am an engineer and was able to do all the repairs myself which saved hundreds of additional dollars. The dishwasher is a $1000 piece of junk. I would have scrapped in early on if I had only known!

I purchased my second KitchenAid in 2005 since we were renovating our kitchen and wanted the counter depth model. I already had a KitchenAid that I was happy with, though it was only 2 years old. Within 18 months, the ice maker stopped working in the new one. We didnt replace it right away and we just used the ice from our other one, which was now in our basement as a second refrigerator. We finally had a new ice maker installed in July 2009 at a cost of $200, parts plus labor. Again, 18 months later (with a 1 year warranty), the ice maker stopped working. We went 2 more years without fixing it but finally did on February 27, 2013 at a cost of $242 when we needed it for a large family gathering. It broke again last week, June 20, 2014. 1 year and not even 4 months from the install date. It was suggested by the repair company that there may be a recall and I should call KitchenAid myself. After speaking to a customer service rep and then her supervisor, I was told they only warranty it for a year. Period. I explained that there was obviously a defect in my refrigerator, but that didnt seem to matter. They would have a service person come out for the usual fee. Meanwhile, my 11 year old other KitchenAid has started freezing food - but guess what? At least the ice maker works!! So unless you want to buy two of them to work as they should, I would buy another brand.

The spring on the detergent dispenser door of my KitchenAid dishwasher (Model KUDT03FTSS0) has broken. Replacement entails popping off the dispenser door, placing an inexpensive ($2 to $4) replacement spring on the spindle, and popping the door back into place. KitchenAid refuses to supply the spring -- my only repair choice is to replace the entire dispenser for $90.00.

Horrible French door fridge model KBFS20EVMS. We have had many problems since we bought this less than six years ago. The refrigerator portion is set on 44 and still freezes the food. The icemaker stopped working. The fridge leaks. Ive had that cosmetic rust issue on the exterior. The seals are shot and I cleaned mold/mildew from the rubber seals. Avoid KitchenAid products.

I bought my french door bottom mount refrigerator in 2013. I have started having issues with the freezer and ice maker. The technician who came to check the fridge told me that this is a very common problem with KitchenAid. We have to pay $390.00 for labor and if the parts are not covered in extended warranty pay for that too. Our extended warranty ran out in 2018. We were also told that the dye leaks and it will have to be replaced every 4 or 6 months. I am annoyed at the expense this fridge is going to cost us. I called the appliance pros for KitchenAid and they did not help in any way. They are very rude and nobody knows anything there. They went on telling me, “We dont know how things work in Canada.” Well why then are you selling appliances in Canada. They know how to give customers a runaround and beat about the bush. I would not recommend this fridge to anybody. Please buy a fridge by a company which stands behind its product.

We purchased a new five door KitchenAid refrigerator 16 months ago for over $3500. It stopped working two months ago. We found the local warranty service firm and they have been out here 5 times. They have replaced the compressor twice, and a specific valve once but have not been able to restore function to the unit. They came twice to take readings for KitchenAids tech department. Weve been 8 weeks without a refrigerator. The service people said they have done everything but the unit should be replaced. So far KitchenAid has not authorized a replacement. Sad state of affairs. I certainly wont buy another KitchenAid appliance.

We’ve had many KitchenAid products and all have pretty reliable. Purchased top of the line model dishwasher 2 years and 4 months ago. The control board just went out. The part is covered by warranty but NOT THE LABOR. That is $249, about 1/5 of the original price. For the purchase price and the company’s profit margin, I wish companies would quite these boards from China because they are junk.

Last night our KitchenAid oven locked at the end of an hour long chicken bake at 350 degrees. I turned the bake knob off immediately. Within 15 minutes, the inside of the oven was on fire. Firemen arrived and by then, the glass front was broken and they put out the flames. Luckily, it was contained within the oven but of course, time for a new range now. Approx 10 years of use was fine for many years but this computer problem of locking and the very hot self cleaning feature just coming on by itself is ridiculously unsafe! Who knew a product could be so poorly designed that it would do this, start a fire by self locking and then heating up to serious temperatures!

My compressor overheated. Dangerously hot. I do not want the same part. There is no way to know how much damage was done! Not to mention fire hazard. I was told by KitchenAid it is my responsibility to unplug. I guess if you really want a KitchenAid fridge no sleeping or going out of town. I was told this did not meet their standard for safety hazard yet they could not give the standards that do! The ice maker has gone out. The water flow takes 5 minutes to fill the glass. The best was that I did not need to worry about fire, because the refrigerator walls would contain it! Keep in mind the bottom portion is cardboard!!! My last call the guy hung up on me!!! If you are thinking about KitchenAid dont. If you just got one run dont walk it right back in the store!!!

Dishwasher is 2 years old and has had 11 wheels replaced on the top rack. Utensils always go through the holes in the utensil holder, often many while its running, and they get stuck and you cant even move the rack to try and get them out. Almost have to climb into the dishwasher to reach the ones at the back, which is of course after spending almost an hour trying to get all the other dishes out of the bottom rack with the top rack in the way. And forget about actually filling it, neither rack can hold any weight. The top one cant handle 5 glasses from dinner and 2-3 bowls without bending. Its not like anyone would expect a dishwasher to be able to handle the weight of I dont know... DISHES!!! If it was up to me I would leave it at the store front entrance. They can deal with this piece of **.

Since posting the initial review, I was contacted by a KitchenAid engineer who scans online reviews about their dishwashers. Im happy to say that the dishwasher has now been repaired at no cost to me. Hopefully the replacement rails and adjusters will last longer than the original ones did. Im very pleased that KitchenAid stepped up to make this right. Ive been a loyal customer of KitchenAid and will continue to be in the future. But this is only a great dishwasher if it stands the test of time and thats yet to be seen.

I contacted KitchenAid customer support during January 2012. I had bought a KitchenAid Microwave KHHC2090SWH in February 2011. It had suddenly decided out of the blue to stop working. I had contacted a repair technician and they agreed to pay for his visit. It is now March 14, and after 4 visits, the technician has been unable to fix the problem. He has now removed it from my home and even though I have had to contend with the absence of a microwave for almost 2 months, left me nothing to use in the meantime and no promise that it will be fixed only the confirmation that the company will almost never replace a defective product.I am so sorry that I decided on a KitchenAid and I will certainly let everyone and sundry know about my problems with the KitchenAid Microwave. I am at a loss as to what to do next. It seems like I am just trying to fly against the wind.
