New refrigerator purchased on 5.22.2017. Barely 2 months old, but has been missing parts from day 1. A totally defective product not cooling, leaking water on new flooring, can’t get help from Sears or Kitchenaid. Battle weary over this whole process... Will never buy another appliance from Sears or Kitchenaid. 4 ** service calls from diff companies, no one can fix, cannot get it exchanged and keep getting bounced back to different departments! Beyond frustrated, so discouraged about ever buying from companies that I thought were reputable. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! Model # K71800939. I cannot begin to describe the stress this has caused! What happened to standing behind your product? I have literally spent hours on the phone dealing with this problem! I have gone back to Sears, no one wants to take care of this lemon!! ****** BUYER BEWARE **********

I bought KitchenAid oven on 8/2002 KEBC208KSSO. The control board was replaced in 8/2006, again in 2/2007. Again, the control board has failed and needs to be replaced! Is this a quality product? KitchenAid refuses to take responsibility for a crappy product.

We did a gut rehab kitchen remodel in 2012. Consumer Reports magazine point
We did a gut rehab kitchen remodel in 2012. Consumer Reports magazine pointed us to the best refrigerator and other appliances (virtually all KitchenAid). Everything (layout, space, ice maker and filtered water) was great with the refrigerator for 3 years. In late August, 2015 we started seeing water dripping from the freezer door onto the floor. Fortunately not hardwood flooring, but wooden cabinet enclosure got a bit wet and is damaged. Bottom line - after a couple of hopeful attempts assuming it might be the ice maker or the high humidity, the problem persisted and we called the dealer for repair. I asked the tech if hes seen this problem and he honestly answered Yes, a lot. He explained that the part to fix it would be free of charge, and that I would need to pay $164 for the service call. To the dealers credit, I was told on the phone that the minimum for a service call is $164. With this fresh info from the tech whos working on the refrigerator real time, things recalibrate.... If a manufacturer has a lot of the same problem happening, the product should be recalled and owners notified. From there, repairs should be gratis. While the tech was still at the house, I googled the problem and see many youtube videos and write ups about this problem which is a small black rubber check valve that gunks up and then backs up water into the freezer. The floor of the freezer becomes a mini skating rink, and when theres no room left for water down there, it leaks out the front of the freezer. I called the dealer while the tech was still at the house and plead my case. They did call back and agreed to pick up half of the service call. They tried KitchenAid and were unsuccessful. A couple days later, I called KitchenAids large appliance customer service and they stuck to their guns. The rep gave me the usual apology said theres nothing he could do. I asked for his supervisor. I waited a few minutes and finally spoke to a woman who listened, said sorry, and then when I asked for her manager, she refused to pass me up the line saying that she was as far as I was going to take this. $82 isnt the issue. Customer service or lack thereof, and a corporate decision to let the consumers be guinea pigs to figure this wet mess out for themselves is what frosts me. I wonder how long before I have a wet floor beneath the freezer again. Consumer Reports or not, Im done with KitchenAid, its products, and its affiliated companies.

I purchased all new KitchenAid stainless steel appliances in October 2009 from Bad Boy in Whitby. I also purchased the Gold extended warranty. I noticed about a week ago March 24, 2015 that the bottom of the fridge (model: KBRS22KVss1 and S/N KY3628480) has a crack right in the middle coming out from under the deli drawer. I called Bad Boy but of course the extended warranty expired in December 2014. I then checked the warranty in the KitchenAid manual but it expired the same time. I have never in all my 62 years seen or heard of a cracked liner yet in the manual it states it will pay for replacement or repair of the refrigerator/freezer cavity liner if the part cracks due to defective materials or workmanship. Just on the off chance I called KitchenAid....Due to the age of the refrigerator there is no warranty but they can send a serviceman for $89.00 for the first 15 mins. I talked to the parts department to get an idea of that cost and the liner is not a replaceable part but they do have a patch kit. He could not tell me how much that would be or what it consists of as its a service kit and hes not a serviceman. Beware appliances are made to last 5 years only.

I purchased, unfortunately, the complete upper end Kitchenaid appliance for our kitchen 5 years ago from Home Depot and with the extended warranty with Asurion. Within 2 years the dishwasher had many problems that required several repairs: new computer board, new pump, new door, new seals, new wash arms and more. The self clean for the oven never works at all and never fixed. The microwave often refuse to work at all and must unplug and wait 15 or more minutes to work and never fixed. The worse... the $3500 French door refrigerator freezer has died 4 times. Needs new defective wire system that the fix damaged interior parts that were never covered or fixed. Next the freezer fans died. Next the ice maker stopped making ice...still waiting for that fix. And now the water will not flow as well. And each time we must shut it down and lose lots of food. Asurion coverage is slow and limited and uses distant repair companies that break things and never follow through for many weeks. Do not buy their coverage. Home Depot never back these awful appliance either. And Kitchenaid simply does not care and says sorry its is not their problem. Worse appliance I ever had in over 50 years. Avoid at all costs.

KDRU783VSS-48 in dual fuel range - My 2 1/2 year old dual fuel convection range with steam assist (48 in) caught fire and was non-repairable. I was baking in the smaller oven when I heard a pop. Black smoke started pouring from the front of both ovens. Upon opening the smaller oven door, I saw flames up around the broil elements (I was NOT broiling at the time). My husband commented that it smelled like an electrical fire. We proceeded to cut off the power to the range. Smoke still poured out. We then heard the sound of gas burning off inside the oven (I was NOT using our gas stove top at the time). The stainless steel outside top and sides of the oven were burning hot to the touch. The control knobs were so hot they had become gummy/tacky to the touch. With no end in sight to the black smoke pouring out and the extreme heat OUTSIDE of the oven, we called the fire department. They cut the gas off to the house. The firemans hand-held temperature reading gun (Bullard Thermal Camera) measured over 250 degrees atop the range and along the back wall behind the range. Firemen said had we not been home, the back wall would have caught fire and this would have become a rescue call.KitchenAid sent a repair person to look at the oven. Deemed not safe enough to repair, the spark ignitor box inside was melted, wires crystallized, touch screen displays melted, wall plug charred and melted. After many lengthy calls and emailed pictures, we were given 2 options: get a replacement unit only by paying a participation fee of $2500 or get a prorated refunded due to age of unit (2 1/2 years old). We opted for the partial refund, as this unit is a FIRE HAZARD. To get a different brand, we still were out several thousand dollars, since we were not offered a full refund on a faultily designed range. Funny, because 8 WEEKS later when I finally had a different brand installed, the installer noticed my old unit had steam assist. He said he had replaced 3-4 other KitchenAid models that had burned up - all with steam assist. No one at KitchenAid could tell me anything. There has been no recall. BEWARE: This unit is poorly designed and is a fire hazard!

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator Model: KSC24C8EY in March 2013. 13 months later the ice maker started to generate less and less ice. I called KitchenAid for support but they told me the warranty expired so I waited to see what would happen. In June 2015 my kitchen floor flooded with water from the refrigerator, forcing me to call KitchenAid again. They told me they could send someone to fix the problem but asked me to pay $319.00 first. Instead I called and hired a local technician for $75.00 who found out that one of the hoses connected to the ice maker was cracked and leaking. After he replaced the broken hose the ice maker began to function normally and the leaking problem stopped. I am upset that this new refrigerator gave me so many problems, from the leaking hose that consistently flooded the floor to the non-functioning ice maker. After only using it for two years I am very depressed and dissatisfied with the service provided by the machine and KitchenAid.

On August 13, 2012 we purchased a French door refrigerator made by Kitchen Aid. 10 months later we were seeing water running down the inside door from the ice maker. I called the company and they sent out technician to fix it who didnt seem like he knew what he was doing. He made several phone calls to ask questions about the repair. After he left my refrigerator was working properly so I was satisfied. Meanwhile, my neighbors were looking to get a new refrigerator and loved the look of mine so they purchased the same model. Months later my neighbor called me complaining of water leaking from her ice maker. They had to have it repaired but then a couple months later she told me their freezer stopped working and they lost hundreds of dollars of food. She called Kitchen Aid to come repair it for a second time. My husband and I went on vacation and we returned home to find our freezer stopped working while we were gone and lost all of our food. When I called Kitchen Aid they informed me I was two months past my warranty and since I didnt buy an extended warranty (which I didnt think I would need to on a fridge that cost almost $3000.00) there was nothing they could do. It could be repaired but at my cost. After a very heated discussion and much screaming on my end about their inferior product I got them to agree to fix it at their cost. I am sitting here now while a repairman is here and he is running dye through the lines to find the problem. He has informed me that it will be at least a couple of weeks until this is fixed. Meanwhile I have no working freezer and have a family to feed. I called Kitchen Aid again to see if they could do something and the womans response was there was nothing they could do and she actually suggested that I leave food in a friends freezer! I googled complaints against Kitchen Aid and was shocked to say the least. It seems they are known for these problems and customer service is not their strong suit. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid appliance again and will tell everyone who will listen about my experience.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher after our Maytag Dishwasher died after 5 years. I was leery about buying another Whirlpool product but the reviews were good and it was bigger than the comparable Bosch dishwasher. The dishwasher does NOT clean the dishes. We have had 2 techs out (1 from the store, 1 from Whirlpool), taken 2 days off, bought 4 different types of detergent, tried each suggestion that was made (use powder, use pods, run hot water, dont run hot water, dont rinse the dishes before putting them in...) and NOTHING works. I have called Whirlpool and the reps are civil but not sympathetic and keep repeating suggestions that have already been tried. I will never purchase a Whirlpool product again. BUYER BEWARE!

I bought this French door refrigerator and it is beautiful! However, it is 2 years old and I have had to get it repaired three times due to compressor failure. Apparently this model has two compressors and it is causing a lot of issues. Being without a refrigerator for three plus days to defrost and then get serviced (my warranty ran out after 1 year) is a tremendous pain. I’ve always had Whirlpool but went a step up to KitchenAid and I am sorry I did.

I purchased a KitchenAid Model KUDS301XBLO from Best Buy 2 years ago this month. The first week I had to call KitchenAid concerning the fact that the dishwasher did not get my dishes clean. Stuck on food on dishes and silverware and cloudy glassware. They sent a repairman out and he said there was nothing wrong, it must be my water or the temperature setting on the hot water heater. He checked and said the temp was correct and he couldnt find anything wrong. The next week I called KitchenAid again and reported the same problem. Another repair service was sent and he could not find anything wrong either (other than the dishes were dirty). They both suggested a multitude of things to try, i.e.,Use of different product (used Cascade), adding Lemi Shine, make sure to use Jet-dry, etc, etc, all of which I was using anyway. The first guy said pre-wash the dishes before placing them in dishwasher. The 2nd guy said never pre-wash the dishes, always leave food on them because with the new machines this acted as a washing agent to get the dishes clean... Lordy, that blew my mind. I tried that and had to take all the dishes out of the dishwasher when it was complete and wash them by hand. The 2nd guy also informed me I should have never gotten rid of my 20-year-old GE, that it was a superior product (it worked fine, just was very noisy). I emailed a complaint to KitchenAid and several weeks after the complaint I had a call while I was not at home, from some lady who left a message. I tried to call her back and got her voicemail and left a message for her to return the call. Never heard from her. The 2nd repairman gave me a bill for services and I refused to pay it, so thats when I emailed the company. As far as I am concerned, I will never purchase another KitchenAid product.

We have owned this refrigerator for 7 years, and it started to leak. Wood floor and all the other issues included. Since we had extended warranty, we contacted the company. Although it did take longer than I hoped to have them come out, but thank goodness we think the problem is fixed, thanks to a great serviceman from A&E. He was an older repairman, and I give credit to that. He seemed very experienced and it was fixed within one and a half hour. After I read all the reviews before he came I was very discouraged, but he explained what the problem was and it sure makes sense. When he came, he removed the panel, defrosted all the ice and blew air through the drainage hose. Once the drainage hose was cleaned out, we found in the drain pan a plug of vegetables (frozen kale) He explained that this must have fallen on the bottom of the freezer, ended up in the drainage hose and plugged it up.Once it was all cleaned up, we have not had a problem. So what is of great importance in the future is that a person does not let pieces of vegetables fall into the bottom of the freezer. Because it might get stuck again into the drainage hose. I hope I have saved other owners from this misery and maybe prevent you from the same problem we had.

I have a refrigerator/bottom freezer. 3 years old and the control board goes out. The authorized dealer has a very bad reputation of causing more issues than actually fixing anything so I went with a reputable repair company... since I didn’t go with the sub-standard company the company wouldn’t stand behind the product even though the company I went with is trained in repairing KitchenAid. From what I understand to be an authorized dealer is up for grabs. The highest bidder gets the authorization. Has nothing to do with their credentials. My entire kitchen is KitchenAid... not any more! This repair should have been covered.

We did a complete kitchen remodel and purchased the KitchenAid French Door refrigerator. It was installed in March 2018. First repair call was in October 2018. The ice machine stopped working. We contacted the company, a repairman came out and had to order a new part for the fridge (which took another 2 weeks for the order to ship and installation). Less than one month later, the ice machine broke again and the LED light on the shelf started blinking like a strobe light. Repairman called again, new parts had to be ordered again and another 2 week wait for the parts to come in and be installed. I wish I had never purchased this product. All of the other new appliances in our kitchen are GE Cafe. Buyers remorse; I wish I had bought the GE refrigerator instead of this poorly built KitchenAid “wanna be”.

Ive had a KitchenAid dishwasher for 5 years. In March, it stopped running. And after some debate, I finally got KitchenAid to pay for parts (the control panel) which were covered under warranty. One week later, the control panel failed. And again, KitchenAid replaced the control panel. Today, the control panel failed again. When I called KitchenAid, they refused to replace the faulty part. Apparently, the warranty expired 2 days ago. Even though the part or parts have been faulty, they refused to replace them. At this point, I am better off buying a new unit, because the same thing will probably happen again. Oh, Ive been paying for all the labor charges each time it breaks. Plus, the KitchenAid microwave just broke too.

It’s a $250 part, ok. Frig is 10 years old, I’m ok with that. WELL THEY DONT MAKE PART any longer and there is no work around! KitchenAid customer service’s best response was to send me to a discount supplier of new refrigerators. I’m beyond frustrated. I purchased a resale home with existing KitchenAid appliances (four years old). In the short time I lived in my new home, I have seen multiple issues that doesnt seem normal to me. During cooking and when self-cleaning the oven, all the sensors turn off automatically including the clock and will turn back on its own after about an hour. It almost seem like the stove is overloaded even with one burner on. It shut the fan and all of the buttons on--the touch screen also stopped functioning. On 12/30/2011, while making dinner, the oven light came on and I cant turn it off. When I pressed the turn off button, it beeps and wouldnt turn the light off. It has been three hours and the light is still on and this concerns me very much as this is a safety issue for my family. I unplugged the stove and plugged it back in but the light is still on.

Dont burn down your house, I survived 9/11 today. The under counter dishwasher (KUDPO1ILBS0) KitchenAid had a few seal problems 5 years ago. Last night, I heard a loud noise in the kitchen at 1:30AM (Sept. 11, 2012) while the whole family was sleeping. I got up and waited 1-2 minutes to compose myself and then noticed light rubber burning smell in my bedroom. I walked down the stair to the kitchen and felt stronger smell of electrical wire burning. I turned the light on and noticed that the dishwasher passing out steam after complete cycle and also white smoke from the front panel where buttons are situated. I tried to open the dishwasher while placing hand on the electronic panel as usual, when I heard sparks and more intense smoke. I ran to the basement and turned the switch from the main electrical panel and noticed smoke diminishing, but smelled very intense. When steam and smoke stopped and I felt safe, I took the dishes out which were clean and well dry as usual. The whole family was down by this time due to the commotion and ready to call 911 and exit to pre-plan spot. I noticed that it was only front panel smoke and now no sign of fire or smoke. I asked everyone to go back to bed and watched TV until 3:00AM on guard. I later went to bed and in the morning, the family decided to replace our 10-year old dishwasher.

Superba Selectra Oven Glass explosion - While we were at the bedroom, my daughter heard a noise coming from the kitchen. It was like a loud crack. Then, we muted the TV and we heard a second loud noise and went to see. The glass from the oven was scattered all over the floor and even reached the living room and adjacent rooms. We all were saying we are lucky nobody was at the kitchen at the moment it happened, but now I think there are many similar cases and want to do something. This event happened yesterday night, 10-19-12. Today, we will contact KitchenAid about it but as we read from the other complaints, it looks like Kitchen Aid is not going to cooperate. Upper rack was over designed with too many moving features causing inherent weaknesses in plastic components. One year after use started the first plastic tabs started breaking. Without buying a whole new rack there was only one option. Had to figure out stainless steel bolts and nuts to replace broken tabs. Tedious but do-able. I believe most people (probably 95%) do not adjust the racks anyway because they are complicated to adjust. Why build things that break? Just keep it simple! Otherwise this dishwasher works great. It is very quiet and washes well. Clean look. If they would make the upper rack as simple as the bottom rack it would be bullet proof. But no, the Kitchenaid engineers and marketing people had to complicate it by putting in breakable features most people do not use. Thanks for messing up an otherwise great product. Now figuring out my fourth set of bolts to keep the upper rack in place and gliding like it should.

We purchased a KitchenAid two drawer dishwasher in November 2011. Soon after install and a couple wash cycles, the machine began to make loud (heard throughout our entire home) noises during both the wash and dry cycles. Our dealer was contacted and our first repair completed. Now after three repairs with no success and multiple calls to KitchenAid, we are left with an obscenely loud machine that basically just houses dishes. The machine does not clean nor dry and makes such awful noises that we are left to hand wash our dishes. And when we absolutely must run the machine, we do so when we are leaving the home so we do not have to hear the noise. After yet another call to customer service today, I was told that our replacement request was denied and yet another service call would have to be scheduled. The quality of this machine and your customer service are unacceptable. If I could return all my KitchenAid appliances and never have to deal with your company again, I would.

We recently remodeled our kitchen and because our old appliances were KitchenAid and we were happy with them we decided to go with the brand again. Such a mistake. Within a few months the finishes on the fridge and the dishwasher are discolored, spotty, and there is rust showing through on the fridge door in multiple places. The handle on the freezer door wont stay tight. The self cleaning oven is a joke. These are overpriced, poor quality appliances. We bought an extended warranty which is no help for these issues. In spite of the fact that I was calm and factual with the resolution specialist was sarcastic and condescending. Trying to get panel replaced again. Quality Control needs to look at hundreds of complaints on the internet. Still have great stress from Hurricane Sandy - KitchenAid is causing more stress. Very unhappy - spoke with my contractor about dropping KitchenAid from their product line. What happens when the warranties expire? Will I have to pay for these future quality failures? Would not recommend your products.

I wish you could give negative stars for their crappy product. We purchased a kitchenaid built-in refrigerator. After only 2 months of operation the refrigerator quit cooling. Both freezer and refrigerator stopped working. We lost all our freezer food and we were forced to rent another refrigerator while waiting for an appointment to have the refrigerator repaired. The refrigerator is still under the warranty period. We have had the assigned repair company come out three times. They have replaced the control module voltage inverter. The refrigerator is still not working and now the repair person has stated he is not sure and will start replacing more parts. KitchenAid has stated that they will NOT do anything but allow this technician to replace part by part. This is a $10K refrigerator and they have little regard to helping resolve the issue. Stay away from KitchenAid.

Kitchen aid dishwasher (which per consumer reports was and still is supposed to be one of the better dishwashers) purchased in Jan 2011. To date have had 4 service calls on this appliance. Dispenser door for powdered soap does not open so soap is dispensed through open door. Part very expensive to replace. Last week heard loud noise like explosion. Door blew open while dishwasher was running. Fortunately we have a very nice and honest repair person who bent the latch in hopes of keeping the machine going until we redo our kitchen in a few months. Now run dishwasher with a chair in front and towels on the bottom in case this happens again. We will never purchase another kitchen aid product again.

My mother-in-law, like many people of her generation, swore by the quality
My mother-in-law, like many people of her generation, swore by the quality of KitchenAid dishwashers. We have always bought them until now. Reading the complaints on the internet it is apparent that these dishwashers were once of high quality, but that this is no longer so. We bought one a little over a year ago to replace a 20 year old trouble free model (without doing any research). As predicted by the complaints on the internet, the top shelf failed within a year. We have had several service calls for other reasons and today we decided to simply pull out the KitchenAid, throw it away, and install a Miele (without great hopes). So, why has KitchenAid become so bad. The first thing to note is that Whirlpool now owns Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana and many other brands due to a purchase in 2008. They are all one company and, in a published peer-reviewed study (you can find it at the National Bureau of Economic Research website), it has been established that prices for dishwashers made by this mega-company increased and the number of models declined. In other words, Whirlpool has virtually no domestic competitors. Your only choice is foreign or domestic. Get used to it. The practical effect is that prices for dishwashers of the same quality have actually increased more than the above study indicates. It is a sad comment on an old American brand.

We have a new dishwasher when we bought a new house, all appliance are KitchenAid... Dishwasher broke after 6 months, the technician fix it, broke again after 13 months/one year guarantee. It is a real piece of crap and now we have an odor of electric burning in the house. They said on the appliance built in America, oh my God. Dont spend money on KitchenAid. A lot of publicity but the quality is not there. I cant believe how all furniture are very bad quality. Washing machine, dryer, fridge, dishwashers. Better to go with LG, way better or Bosch... If you want something they will work at least 6-10 years.

I have a 6-year-old Stoves dual fuel range cooker. Sure, its out of warranty, but now it only functions as a hob! The thermostat on the main oven failed last year. Stoves cant fix it because the company that made it has gone out of business (no thought of doing anything about it). Now the interior glass shielding on the secondary oven decided to shatter last night. I cant expect anything to last, but in these times, I expect that something would be fixable. I will never buy anything by Stoves again. It was an expensive item around $1500, so not exactly bottom of the range! But it definitely is bottom of all ranges!

Of course, he tried to sell me a $300+ extended warranty, in case anything else goes wrong. This unit was installed with our kitchen remodel when we also bought KitchenAid cabinet-depth refrigerator, dual fuel range, microwave and dishwasher, $7500 in what we thought were premium appliances. In December we purchased a complete appliance package from KitchenAid. When delivered the first problems were damaged interior of the dishwasher, fan on the microwave was hitting on something. KitchenAid sent out a service company to fix that problem. Next the interior of the oven start to fall apart. There were crack all along the bottom and pieces of the blue enamel started to break off. KitchenAid sent out another tech. And the stove top started having bubbles show up around the heating elements. KitchenAid sent out another tech. The tech said that the stove was bad and had to be replaced. KitchenAid fought us on the cooktop saying it was cosmetic and would not change it out. We told them no way. Brand new appliances should not be doing that after only a month. They only agreed to replace the glass top. The tech told us that they are experiencing a lot of problems with this new line of appliances. The new oven microwave unit came in yesterday and the microwave doesnt work properly. The tech said that he has to open up a brand new appliance can take it apart to fix it. KitchenAid has been absolutely unhelpful. My next step is to call up an attorney! We have brand new appliances that are breaking down after a few week and the same day. I have no confidence in KitchenAid.

It takes longer to run a cycle and has lower pressure than my previous Inglis model. Items on the top shelf sometimes are not thoroughly cleaned. Saniclean and pro scrub need to be activated to get a thorough cleaning. Normal wash is not adequate. Deep tub, and it has 3 racks, so lots of room to place items. Wish the third rack had an impeller to clean items in it. Stainless steel front with controls on the top of the door hidden. Very nice packaging. Take extended warranty, run the cleaner through once every couple of months to get rid of the scum build up. Clean the internal filter every couple of months also. The Steam venting port damages your wooden cabinets next to the dishwasher. I had to put a plastic liner on the inside of the cabinet (facing the dishwasher) to stop the moisture from damaging the cabinet.

The door closed properly when he examined it. Second, water evaporation on the top of inside wall of the refrigerator. This was repaired at no cost. Third, the loud noise of compressor runs constantly. Repairman said it was probably air in the waterline. Fourth, finally the loud noise of the compressor is driving me nuts. I have the Kitchenaid electric double oven range model YKFED500ESS2. Its just my spouse and I here and we rarely use the oven at all, let alone the top oven. I wanted to use it one day, and noticed that all of the paint/enamel in the recessed corner of the rectangular indent at the bottom of the oven, was chipping off and cracks forming along the entire edge. The enamel chips were about 1/16 inch thick, and coming off in chunks and strips. My oven is about 16 months old, but I think this problem started before I noticed it. Of course, you can now assume that this oven is just off its warranty. I called Kitchenaid to complain and see if they would cover this DEFECT. They said nope... Its off warranty and just cosmetic. I ask you... If you bought a brand new car and the paint fell off it less than a year and a half later... Would you be happy? Needless to say, I am NOT happy and I will NEVER buy a Kitchenaid product of any kind again. They obviously make poor quality products and you are SOL when their stuff falls apart right after the warranty is over. I also have had issues with the fridge I bought at the same time... I moved into a house with a KitchenAid 42 built-in side-by-side refrigerator. In Sept. 2013, the ice maker stopped working. A reputable repair company told me the cause was one circuit board. They determined the board was no longer made by KitchenAid, and if a third party board repair company couldnt fix it, the fridge couldnt be fixed. A complete fridge replacement would be about $7,000! The good news: I then uncovered an extended warranty bought by the prior owner. The fridge was purchased Jan 2009, and extended warranty ending Jan 2014. Mercifully, the warranty company transferred the warranty to me, with 3 months left before expiring. The prior owner bought the fridge and warranty from a high touch, full price appliance store. Turned out the people who do the warranty companys repair are the people at this appliance store who told the same story as the earlier repair company. They sent the offending board to a board repair company and meanwhile supplied a loaner fridge as without that circuit board not only did ice maker not work, the entire fridge didnt work. Board repair company returned it a few weeks later, saying it was unrepairable. Now the warranty company had to replace the refrigerator, so they are actually the big losers, not me.Everyone involved tells me its not unusual for a 4-year-old $7,000 refrigerator to fail and be unrepairable after 4.75 years, regardless of the brand, apparently because appliance manufacturers havent placed importance on reliability of electronics. The problem is not specific to KitchenAid. In selecting the replacement fridge, I discovered that parent company Whirlpool owns, among others, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Maytag and Amana. In the store, these brands are obviously the same fridge with minor differences in door and shelf decor. My conclusions after all this: 1) There should be some law requiring Whirlpool (and its several brands) to make it possible to buy parts, including electronics, for at least 10 years, for a $7,000 fridge. Today, Whirlpool stops making some board replacements 4.75 years after manufacturing the unit. Meantime, theres some opportunity here for entrepreneurs who can figure out how to acquire and stock working boards for whatever Whirlpool and its brands are manufacturing now. 2) $7,000 Built-ins are a particular ripoff: for about $2,000 one can buy an almost-as-large free standing counter-depth fridge. A few years from now, it would be lot less painful to lose $2,000 compared to spending $7,000 on a replacement. 3) Ive never bought extended warranties in the past, but an extended warranty saved me. For expensive kitchen appliances with significant electronics, I now buy extended warranties.4) Full-price full-service family-owned appliance stores (where they exist) offer more value than I ever appreciated. They held my hand through the whole process, I always had a working fridge, and they helped get an excellent settlement from the warranty company that they recommended when the fridge was purchased.

The oven (model # KGRK806PSS01) was put in self clean mode. I came back to the kitchen later and found it had powered off; the oven glass was shattered and hot pieces were falling on the floor. After letting it cool down, I unplugged it. I later plugged it back in; still, it had no power and the self clean oven door latch will not unlock. Oven is completely useless now. The glass and parts alone to fix it are over $450 plus a service call & labor would put it closer to $600. I bought this at Sears about 5 years ago and they referred me to KitchenAid. KitchenAid finally offered to fix it for $370; however the glass is on back-order for 3 months. I see many similar complaints online and judging by the long back order on the glass, Im sure there are a lot of other people in my boat. I reluctantly ended up taking KitchenAids offer and I will not buy KitchenAid again.

Model #KRFF707ESS01 Seriel#K63621163 - In March of 2017 we remodeled our kitchen. We purchased KitchenAid appliances due to the new industrial type of handles. As soon as we hooked up the fridge the water/ice dispenser was not working. When you would press the ice water would come out. We placed a call to warranty, they came out and could not find the part - about 3 weeks later they show up and replace the front panel with an older style front panel as the part on my fridge was too new. Then around a month later, the fridge starts making a horrible noise, we call. A company by the name of GGSL Appliance Repair (in Orange County California) comes out, the guy was very rude and you could tell he did not want to be there. He tells us we need to order our own part. He stated if he ordered the part it would take up to three weeks to get it in. We do as asked and order the part, it arrived the next day. Once the part arrived we could get a hold of no one to install the part. They were ignoring all of our calls. (In the meantime KitchenAid is aware of this. We kept calling them as well.) Finally the part is put in place. Then within a couple weeks the fridge will not hold temperature, the fridge is sitting at 60 degrees. Anyone who knows anything about food handling knows that bacteria grows if a fridge runs anything over 39-40. I have to throw away tons of food and meat including my condiments. I call KitchenAid complain my $3000 brand new fridge has broken THREE times now and they tell me someone will come out the next day. The company they then hired called and said, No. I am sorry we cannot come until Monday (even though my fridge is at 60 degrees). That day I call KitchenAid/Whirlpool and get an email to a clevland_resources@whirlpool.com. I email him as well as show him all my notes and receipt for the purchase of the part that should have been covered under warranty that was on 09/06/17 and he has not responded. The fridge repair people were at my house today and still not fridge (have to order the part). I asked how long they said they do not know because they need approval from warranty to order the part. My fridge is obviously a lemon at 3K and they dont care to do anything about it. I am beyond frustrated and want to warn others about the products and services they offer. I would have never bought this product had I known the outcome. Poor products, poor customer service.

There are many issues with KitchenAid dishwashers manufactures with the past three years and KitchenAid DOES NOT stand behind their products. My mother had the motor leak on hers after three years of light usage. I’ve had to wash dishes by hand due to its inability of dispersing water after 2.5 years of normal use. KitchenAid only offers to replace parts but wants the consumer to pay for labor, as well as house calls to fix a very faulty product. My adjustable top rack also broke at 2 years. This is a shame when people pay close to a grand expecting a quality product that should be reliable for longer than 2-3 years. I just spent $165 for yet another service call to replace the latch on my KitchenAid range that was purchased in July 2006 from Builders Source in Albuquerque, NM. This makes a total of almost $500 spent on repairs to a range for which we paid $1,346. This was the third call and the second latch for the oven door. The technician noted that the door hinges, replaced in November 2011, need replacing also. The oven door would not shut; it is losing heat and it couldnt maintain temperature and could not extinguish the light. Then, it would not open. All of these are safety and performance issues. There is no response to emails and calls to KitchenAids customer service.” Builders Source offered a discount if I want to buy a new range, but I dont want to shop for major appliances every 5 years. I dont want KitchenAids unsafe, over-priced, and unreliable junk in my house either. In addition to the range, the handle fell off my KitchenAid microwave, the compressor failed on the refrigerator, and the latch, springs, and door failed on the dishwasher. There was a time when an appliance’s longevity and dependability relied on being well-made, and buyers weren’t saddled with purchasing extended warranties. Until retailers like Builders Source insist that manufacturers stand behind serviceable appliances, consumers will be deluded and disappointed with shoddy merchandise and choosing between which brands will provide the least trouble and expense. I expect that KitchenAid will continue manufacturing unsafe, overrated products and unresponsive, uncaring service until their once-respected reputation and the retailers that push these shoddy products disappear.

There was a pile of white powder inside the ice maker and on the sides of the interior. I cleaned it thoroughly removing all white power and thought the problem was solved. Once you fill a glass with water, the water dispenser doesn’t shut off properly and continues to drip... not one or two drips... but constantly. I phoned and the first serviceman they sent out told me that there was nothing wrong with it, and that is just the way it is. I called back, they sent another service guy out who said “that’s not right, but I’m not really sure what’s going to fix it, but I will order a new water tank and tube and see if that does the trick. I will also order a new air damper because it seems to be grinding and it shouldn’t be”.Two weeks later he returned with the parts, installed them, and it worked better for about a month. Now it’s still dripping, and the noise it makes sounds like it’s going to take off. I just called with warranty department, and there is no more coverage. It will cost $139 plus tax just to have someone come out and then more money for whatever parts they want to try next, that likely won’t work. My husband says “take it to the dump, it’s a piece of $3,000 garbage”!!! We will be shopping for another refrigerator... and it won’t be KitchenAid. How do these people stay in business??? Oh... Cathy on the warranty line, sure was trained properly... All she could say was “I certainly understand how you feel, but there is nothing we can do about it”!!!

As a retired chef I have preference for gas cooktop but electric oven. I built a new home with floorplan that did not offer separate cooktop and wall oven so I was very pleased when I found a Kitchenaid dual fuel product offering gas cooktop and electric oven combination. I had past experience with KitchenAid and thought I was purchasing a quality product.Although the cooktop and oven function well, the so-called AquaLift self-cleaning feature is useless! I do not let my oven become heavily soiled but found my first use of this feature did nothing to clean the oven. Even worse, instructions indicate even if I was willing to use an oven cleaning product and elbow grease I am warned this will damage the oven surface. It appears there are currently class action suits on this topic. Wish I had known this before purchasing this expensive product.

Thinking Id go all out and buy my last and final refrigerator, I bought the fancy and expensive, and newest KitchenAid. Within four years I have spent over $600 on repairs (nothing covered by warranty). The first week of the Pandemic it again stopped working. I have thrown away over the last four years, THREE complete freezer contents with this refrigerator. The ice maker is positioned above the mother board, and drains onto it, and the repairman who finally came from the Factory said it was a major design flaw. This FIFTH repair was to cost nearly $1600 - and he said he didnt know if that would be all that was wrong. I have called and written my dealer and the parent company. I thankfully have an old KitchenAid in the back hallway, so have an inconvenient, but cold, refrigerator. Youd think when after only 4 years of wear by two people, and repairs requiring half the cost of the refrigerator, that KitchenAid would be more responsive to a long-time customer. I am so disgusted by this experience.

In November of 2010, we had just finished our $18,000 kitchen renovation. Our $2500.00 side-by-side with freezer drawer on the bottom is a beautiful stainless steel. Was delivered and installed by Lowes. That is when the fun began. After about 2 weeks, we noticed that the food in the freezer was soft to the touch but cold. We gathered the children and told them of the importance of making sure the drawer was closed all the way. After several days and several lessons in proper door closing procedure, I noticed that there was never any ice when I wanted a cold drink. I soon came to realize after the food in the top part of the new $2500.00 beauty became room temperature that there might be a problem beyond my children and proper door closing procedure. Then the real adventure began. I called the customer service number in my trusty manual and spoke to one of the clear speaking people in charge of handling such situations. I was told that they would send a repairman to look at the refrigerator and the appointment was scheduled. When asked what to do about all the food in my stainless steel showpiece, I was told that they are not responsible for food loss in this type of situation. Maybe one of your neighbors could store your food for the time being. Yes, maybe I could have a neighbor store food for my family of 5 until I could get my metal closet repaired (midnight trips to get a snack are now more exciting). I then had the pleasure of meeting a repairman who was more than happy to look at my wonderful now skunky-smelling top-of-the-line food storage device. Mr. Repairman started poking and tapping and doing repairman type things. I will need to go through this section by section to try to eliminate possible causes to the problem, Mr. Repairman told me. When I asked what kind of time frame we were looking at, I was told, Minimum of 4 hours to dismantle, however many hours to do the repair once diagnosed and another 4 hours to re-assemble. Great, I said, My new state-of-the-art cold food making contraption will be spread out all over some repair shop for who knows how long?Oh no, said Mr. Repairman, We do it right here in your home. You what?????? You are going to take apart my appliance here, diagnose the problem, order the part, come back when the part comes in, repair it and then re-assemble it ????? Yes. How long are we talking about ???? 7 to 10 days if the parts come in. After a quick dial, I was back on with customer service telling them what I had just been told. Let me call the repair company, please hold. After a brief hold of about 20 to 30 min. I was told to have Mr. Repairman contact his office. When Mr. Repairman was done with his call, he printed out a slip from his little portable printer and told me that his office and KitchenAid determined that the repair was going to cost too much and that the unit should be replaced as totaled. Wow, what a relief. I was now put in contact with a customer service rep to arrange for my nice new right out of the box stainless steel replacement. Within 2 weeks, will have the new one delivered. What? 2 weeks? What am I to do for 2 weeks without a refrigerator? You can rent one until your new one comes, I was told. Anyway after my waiting period and lots of take-out, my new ice box arrives and is installed to numerous cheers from the kiddies. We thanked Mr. Deliveryman who left and we went on with our lives... until about 2 and a half months later. Honey, did you leave the freezer door open? Everything is soft. And there is no ice. Ring, ring. Hello, customer service. How may I help you? After an even more entertaining episode and even more trips from Mr. Repairman who used the term deja vu, it seems like I have been here before (long term memory is not an issue here). Mr. Repairman said that this was common and that a part needed to be replaced. He didnt have the part but it will be ordered. How long are we talking about? 7 to 10 days. Well eventually Mr. Repairman came back and replaced this little rubber part that lets condensation drip onto a pan so that it can evaporate. Problem solved... NOPE!!!!!! Several more visits from Mr. Repairman and several times telling him that yes, he had been here before KitchenAid decided that this unit also was too much to repair and authorized a replacement. And yes, it was going to be another 2 weeks. At this point I said, Hold on. Why would I want this thing replaced a third time? Can I get a different model? No, that is not an option. 2 weeks later, my brand new stainless steel right out of the box replacement replacement food keeper cold thingamagig makes its grand entrance. Mr. Deliveryman who also say it feels like he has been here before installs and again leaves. Wow what a journey. All this just to keep food from going bad even though twice it did. And after all this, I am still sane. I liked the refrigerator when I saw it in the store. It looked beautiful. Now all is going well and we still have our KitchenAid and it looks like everything is finally going to be... Oh wait I forgot to tell you that I just got off the phone with customer service because unit number three is doing the exact same thing. If anyone is interested in a stainless steel boat anchor, please let me know because I have one made by the good people at KitchenAid.

Purchases and installed 2/2015. Been using the top oven. Went to use the bottom one Christmas day, it kept blowing the fuse. Cant understand what is going on. I have read reviews of the oven shutting down when cleaning both but not using. If this is the case, why isnt there a recall on these ovens? Spending over 2600 on oven, you expect it to work and the problems getting solved but its not. Unfortunately Kitchenaid was closed but I plan on getting this problem solved or they can pick it up and dump it. Hum. American made. Theyre not being tested before selling them. Sorry I am not a big fan of Kitchenaid. At this time wish I had my Jenn-Air back. Old faithful never let me down. Merry Christmas Kitchenaid. Hope your ovens work today.

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator in August 2010 for $1,500. From the beginning, it was freezing items on my top back shelf and shooting ice cubes all over my freezer. At this time, I am facing a $350 bill to fix the problem that has escalated to freezing everything in my refrigerator. I have called KitchenAid many times on this to be told I should have bought the extended warranty on my $1,500, 2 1/2 year product from a company that I trusted. In addition to this, I have been getting rust on the door for years now. I am very disappointed and will never recommend KitchenAid!

Now we are looking forward to getting a Sears repairman out to our house, which is in the country, and will cost us at least a few hundred dollars, again. We are not really very happy with KitchenAid. We bought all KitchenAid when we built. What a mistake. I really thought KitchenAid was a good brand. I have KitchenAid Refrigerator KFIV29PCMS/01 Serial K33102532 (Less than 2 years old). The unit wasnt cooling so we decided to call any service company to get it fixed. They found that there was a leak on the refrigerator evaporator. We tried to order the part but there was no record of the part number on the system, so we decided to call customer service and they told us that that part was not serviceable so we ask them to talk to a supervisor for an advice because we dont want to dump a refrigerator that was barely new. Finally they had someone from the service depart. calling and telling us that of course the unit can be service but it has to be service by them, because they warranty the sealed system for several years and that was part of the sealed system. They got all my info. Never heard from then. I tried to call back many times to find out for a solution. They make you wait... Then I tried the call me back option and yes they call you back and then they make you wait... and then they redirect your call and then they make you wait... and they redirect your call again. Conclusion Im stucked with a new broken refrigerator. They wont let you solved the problem not even if you pay for it and they dont freaking care. Really sad for such a big corporation.

In Nov. 2017 we installed KitchenAid double ovens, model KODE500EBS02. The ovens look very nice, but they are not for bakers. They take 10 to 15 minutes to preheat, they do not brown bake goods on the bottom, and they take longer to bake an item. The baked item is never done by the suggested time on a recipe. The ovens also bake hotter in the back. These were very expensive, so I am stuck with them, however, I would not recommend them to anyone else.

I had contacted a repair technician and they agreed to pay for his visit. It is now March 14, and after 4 visits, the technician has been unable to fix the problem. He has now removed it from my home and even though I have had to contend with the absence of a microwave for almost 2 months, left me nothing to use in the meantime and no promise that it will be fixed only the confirmation that the company will almost never replace a defective product.I am so sorry that I decided on a KitchenAid and I will certainly let everyone and sundry know about my problems with the KitchenAid Microwave. I am at a loss as to what to do next. It seems like I am just trying to fly against the wind.

KitchenAid Aqualift model KGRS306BSS - This is by FAR the worst oven I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing. Where to begin...? The glass door has condensation build up between the outer and inner panes. The oven heat vents through the FRONT of the oven door right below the gas burner knobs which makes them hot and difficult to use when both oven and burners are in use. The gas cooktop itself has so many indentations that cleaning spills/residue is a multi-towel project by itself not to mention the materials used to make the cooktop hold on to residue like Ive never seen. Theres another oven heat vent at the rear of the cooktop below the control panel for the oven which can heat up the key pad above it. When the oven is in use for prolonged baking (think turkey), the rear right burner gets hot when not in use. If I could shout it from the rooftops I would tell the world not to buy this oven and to forget about KitchenAid all together as an appliance brand.

We purchased a complete line of Kitchenaid appliances back in January 2018. Our Frigidaire refrigerator (purchased in 2004) needed replacing (after 14 years!) and thought it was best to replace our other dependable appliances due to age. Within 1 month a repair person had to come and replace the freezer door due to a crack in delivery. The repair person urged that I buy an extended warranty on my appliances due to their lack of reliability and quality. I wish we had listened (but I believe a company should build and back up their products...Im old school). Now our oven starts when it chooses to. Works one minute. Hour later nothing. Our neighbor has had the same experience with her 3 year old Whirlpool oven (parent company). She was told it (after numerous attempts to repair) that she needed a new circuit board at the cost of $495. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT PURCHASE KITCHENAID OR WHIRLPOOL appliances unless YOU believe an extended warranty covers their lack of quality.

Three weeks later while doing a baked potato in it on sense position, it caught on fire melting the plastic inside. They came out and stated it wasnt repairable so now they would only give a replacement value of the $484.49, so I had to add money to it just to get another microwave. Only this time I bought a GE. I am very disappointed and frustrated with KitchenAid customer service. We purchased a $2,300 KitchenAid refrigerator on 6/21/13 and after 10 months of use, it started leaking and making really loud noises. Our freezer does not work. Our ice dispenser does not work. The water tastes bad. Water leaking on the floor has warped our wood floors and we have had to discard meat, ice cream and other frozen food. When we contacted KitchenAid about our defective refrigerator, we were told to make an appointment with Dan Marc.Dan Marc came out for the first time in May, 2014. I took off from work and waited for the repair technician. When he inspected the refrigerator, he said that it was the ice maker compartment. He advised that the ice maker wasnt sealing and warm air was getting in, but that KitchenAid had fixed the sealing issue. He advised that he would order the replacement parts and that it would take care of the problem.A week later, Dan Marc finally rescheduled for 6/9/14. My husband took the day off from work and at 7:30 a.m., Dan Marc cancelled the appointment. I contacted KitchenAid to advise of the customer care offered by Dan Marc, as we were unhappy with them cancelling on the morning of the appointment and the fact that I have an unusable refrigerator. I was advised by KitchenAid that we would have to wait on Dan Marc.On 6/10/14, a different repair technician came to the house and installed 3 replacement parts. He installed 2 replacement parts on the ice maker and 1 on the deli drawer. I took the day off from work and the repair technician took about 2 hours. He again said that the problem was fixed and that the replacement parts would take care of everything. He advised that there was a problem with the original parts, as they did not seal properly. Because it did not seal, warm air got into the ice maker, causing the leakage and host of issues. He advised that KitchenAid was aware of the problem and had taken care of the problem in the replacement parts. On 6/10/14 and 6/11/14, the refrigerator continued to leak water all over, and the freezer and ice dispenser continued to not work. I again contacted KitchenAid and was told that Dan Marc would have to come back out again to my house. As frustrated as I was, I again contacted Dan Marc and made an appointment for the next day. On 6/12/14, Dan Marc sent a specialist to my house. I again had to take off from work and waited for the technician. The technician told me that it is the compressor. He advised that he would have to flush out the system and install a new compressor and evaporator. He said that the job would take a minimum of 4 to 5 hours. He also advised that there would be no guarantee that it would work properly with a new compressor and evaporator, as oil and gases were sucked in. He also said that these refrigerators should last about 10 years and not 10 months. On 6/19/14, a specialist from Dan Marc came to my house and replaced the compressor and evaporator. I had to take the day off from work and he was there for 5 hours. So, the problems continue - Water leaks everywhere in the fridge. Water leaks from ice dispenser. Freezer does not freeze properly. We again contacted KitchenAid and now they are sending Morris County Appliance to my house. On 7/8/14, Morris County Appliance came to my house. They said that there is a seal system issue and that compressor overheats. They do not believe fridge can be fixed. On 7/10/14, KitchenAid is forcing us to allow Morris County Appliance to replace more parts. We are clearly frustrated and need a solution from KitchenAid. We do not want a defective refrigerator, as we clearly paid for a brand new, $2,300 refrigerator. We now have a refrigerator with replacement parts and cannot continue to add replacement parts to a clearly defective refrigerator. KitchenAid was clearly aware that the seals on the ice maker compartment were bad, as the replacement parts were modified and have different seals. Knowing that there was an issue with their product, KitchenAid sold me a defective refrigerator and is not willing to stand behind its product. The refrigerator has clearly failed to meet expectations and it is unacceptable for me to have to keep a defective product. The refrigerator has repeatedly failed to meet the standards of quality and performance. I have not been able to use my freezer, have any ice made or drink any water for almost a month and KitchenAid wants to add another Band Aid, by adding more replacement parts. It is unacceptable for me to keep taking off from work and to wait at home for countless hours, when the refrigerator was clearly defective when I purchased it. In addition, the water leaking from the refrigerator has warped our wood floors and Ive had to discard bags of food. I am clearly stuck with a lemon and KitchenAid refuses to replace their refrigerator.

We have been told it may be another week but at this point we have no confidence in the company or the retailer. We have had to purchase a dorm refrigerator in order to keep several medications cold. KitchenAid refuses to replace the refrigerator but they did offer us a $100 gift card, good for another KitchenAid purchase. We understand that any appliance can fail, even those that are rated as very reliable, but we do believe a company should back up their products. Again, kitchen aid will not help. I have never had an oven where the interior lining rusted out. Other than this problem, I like the unit.

KitchenAid 30 free standing gas range with double oven bought. Beautiful to look at BUT! Have had less than a month and many problems. First gas leaks (they were repaired). My one time to use: baked an apple pie in bottom oven. Preheated to 450, baked pie for 15, then reduced to 350 for 45 minutes. During this time the vent blew so hard on top right burners, it got the top range very hot and impossible to use right burners (vent blew the flames... dangerous). Also top right side got extremely hot... not operating correctly at all. Now dealing with Whirlpool Corp Safety Dept to get them to take this range back... scares me to even think about using it... NOT using it... it is a lemon!!! They say must process/have evaluation by technician and then 3 to 4 weeks to process. BS!!! The order # is the no. with Whirlpool Corp Safety Dept. 553 Benson Road, Benson Harbor, Michigan 49022.

So I will start out by saying that I did not read the negative reviews before purchase. This was not my first oven purchase and should have done more homework. The all the positives were so POSITIVE! So, that being said, my oven is about 6 weeks old. Yesterday for the first time, I tried out the self-cleaning feature. It ran well for a few hours then completely went out. Nothing. I tried everything with the power and fuses but nothing. I have been trying to get someone to help me but I cant reach anyone. Sears repair wont touch it. I will call again on Monday to KitchenAid again. But seeing all of these poor reviews it is making me very nervous. I will have to say that this is a piece of junk. The glass on the inside is stained and gross. I will update this complaint again after KitchenAid gets back to me. But this is crazy. If consumer affairs knew about this problem with the fan and cleaning cycle, why is are they allowed to sell this crap? Class action, I want in. Should have never purchased a KitchenAid.

Weve repaired the plastic opening handle on our KitchenAid-Whirlpool dishwasher twice in 5 years. A $49 plastic part. It has cost us >$500 to repair this poorly designed opening system twice in a decade. We have used KitchenAid dishwashers for 4 decades. Never again. Warn your friends, KitchenAid-Whirlpool dishwashers are designed now to wear out quickly. They substitute plastic for metal parts. Engineered obsolescence.

Kitchenaid Oven Model # KEBC177K5503: This was the second time it quit work
Kitchenaid Oven Model # KEBC177K5503: This was the second time it quit working after using the self-clean feature. We paid to have it fixed the first time but called KitchenAid the second time. After seeing all the other complaints, we thought they would at least send out a DIY kit to replace thermo piece that keeps the oven from working. They would only charge me for a service call and then any necessary parts. Their reasoning is that they wont fix something that hasnt been recalled but who has the authority to recall the defective ovens? KitchenAid! I will never, ever purchase any KitchenAid product again! And I will spread the word every chance I get. When I see how many complaints there are out there for this product and KitchenAid is laughing all the way to the bank, it makes me angry.

The dishwasher functioned marginally for about a year and then got worse. Theoretically, it works, so it cannot be fixed. It runs through the cycle normally, but the dishes do not come out clean. They have grease films, coffee stains, fingerprints, and spots. All of this must be removed by hand washing. Not much point in having a dishwasher. I have tried the longest cycle and additives of all sorts, but nothing helps.

I have a KitchenAid build in refrigerator that is 9 years old, the board needs replacement. I called Whirlpool (owns Kitchenaid) and after their service provider came in they diagnosed that the board needs to be replaced. Here is where the problem starts and the reason of of my 2 star review. They informed me that the part if not available, that they have no idea when it will be available, and that they can not provide a date or any other resolution. Basically what they told me is your 9 year old $8,000 product can stop working and we do not care if we produce the parts to service it anyone. Please do not buy any product from a company that cannot produce the parts to fix it after only 9 years. I know the time seems like a long life, but 9 years life for a $8K product is not a reasonable expectation. Last the customer service is very poor, representative refused to escalate, or provide any other resolution. They really do expect that I have to accept a no working refrigerator while I am waiting for some magical date to resolve the issue on a part that they do not produce anymore. I do not recommend the product. Companies should stand behind what they produce and provide the parts to service it (not for free I am happy to pay).

I purchased 5 KitchenAid appliances 45 days ago during their big 25% off promotion. That was mistake one. I get a call yesterday 4 days before delivery telling me that my fridge is backordered until April. This is the biggest load of lies since Donald Trump on Twitter. Investigating deeper and talking with my sales agent at home depot it sounds like any counterdepth fridge with external ice water have been pulled and no longer is available for purchase. They have even pulled all these models from the KitchenAid website. Ridiculous. Calling customer service, the company line is that there is no recall and it is available for order. So I ask if its available why is it no longer on the website. Needless to say I need to cancel my entire KitchenAid purchase. Do not make the mistake of buying KitchenAid.

I bought a Kitchenaid microwave/convection oven 3 years ago. Kept saying handle is not closed. Then stopped working altogether. What really made me mad is that when you call customer service, you cant get anyone. I have been disconnected while waiting for a representative. Not sure why they have a positive reputation.

The repairman came and opened the back of the oven and realized that there was a fuse (?) that hadnt been pushed in during the assembly and then thought this would be the resolution but the self clean feature scrolled across still saying, feature not available. So next the repairman felt that there must be a computer issue with the stove so he ordered a new panel after speaking to the engineers at Kitchenaid and the next time he came he installed the new one and again the self cleaning feature wasnt available. The repairman had spent at least two hours of time at my place on the two visits he made and I was stressed with what my bill was going to be. He left my house not knowing what to do next and told me he was going to speak with Kitchenaid on my behalf as something was extremely wrong with how this stove was working or should I say not working. I got a telephone call later that afternoon from the repairman who told me that the engineers at Kitchenaid had found what they thought was the problem. Apparently if the power to the stove is interrupted as in unplugging the stove (which was done each time the repairman did anything to the stove) or a power outage, the stove goes through electronic checks to prevent damage and will not self clean for 10 minutes after the power has resumed and will say the feature isnt available. This is not written in any manual, and apparently it was found by the engineers in a small written place in their information. This was a new problem they hadnt ever encountered because obviously no one has come in from a power outage and started cleaning their stove within 10 minutes of the power coming back on.In the end, it looks like the fuse that hadnt been plugged in was probably the culprit and the repairman didnt know to wait for 10 minutes after repluging in the stove to test the feature. Kitchenaid paid the entire repairman bill...my stove is working perfectly now. I can imagine that in the future that the repairmen will be informed off this 10 minute wait period, or that it will be written in the manuals...what a headache to resolve a simple issue but Im happy now with my stove and with Kitchenaid.
