The company says they care about customers but this is a LIE!!! I have a 6 months old built in refrigerator that does not work! Is is being 3 weeks and they still do not repair! In this case I would understand being a 6 months old refrigerator they should exchange it to show the respect with the customer, but not only they do not do that, they do not send repair. This is unbelievable!!! I even sent a email for the president of the company and he does not even replied. Hey @Marc_Bitzer this is not being polite or caring with someone that pays your salary! @kitchenAid #kitchenaid

KFIS27CXWH2 - We purchased this French door style/bottom freezer style from ABT Electronics in July 2011. Within two years we had leaking under freezer under our wooden floors. We called one serviceman who couldnt detect the issue. Called ABT and they were out approximately 12 times to finally resolve the issue by installing a heater unit in ice maker which happens to be located in the upper left side of the ceiling inside refrigerator. Never again will I purchase a unit with an ice maker in unit vs. freezer. Just after a year and parts warranty expiration - it began leaking again and thankfully I was home to avoid a real disaster and could turn off water. Yet another serviceman was out 2 days again who left stating he couldnt find anything wrong with ice maker. As of today water is not running into ice maker although we do have water in the dispenser on outside door of unit. Has anyone else had this model who has experienced the same issue? Every time I decide to replace the unit - I want to try one more time to remedy this problem.

My KitchenAid Refrigerator had buildup of ice in the fridge. It was behind the deli drawer so it wouldn’t close. Phoned Whirlpool to get them to fix the problem. A man came and fixed it or so he said. Three months later it did the same thing. I phoned Whirlpool again. They were coming on 24th Jan. Defrosted fridge again. On the 24th I got a phone call from Whirlpool. They asked me what part was replaced the last time they were here. She said she would have to find out so would call me back. She found the part and said they have to order it, so I would have to wait another week. I said it should still be under warranty. She would ask and call me back. At 2:15 she called back and said I would have to pay for the part and labor. I told them that I would get my own reliable repairman. I have since read the reviews and will NEVER deal with them again. They don’t care about customer service at all.

This is the third time in 4 years that we have to get a serviceman in to repair our KA wall oven (KEBS107SSS03). This product has a definite weak point. You cannot use the self-clean function because if you do, your oven quits working. Something burns out. I suspect that it may be a temp high limit switch - unable to get straight answers from Whirlpool who sell KA appliances. Our local dealer was unable or couldnt be bothered to help. Whirlpool said that this was the first time they heard of this problem!! What a bunch of malarkey. I spent $8,000.00 on a wall oven, fridge, gas countertop stove, dishwasher and microwave. This is the service we get. We have been without an oven since April 6, 2013. 9 weeks!!!

Had dishwasher KUDS30IXSS a little over a year and two small plastic parts on the upper glider both broke after just moderate use. Outside of warranty by a few months and Whirlpool (Kitchenaid) sent their own repairman who said the two parts were $48. Took 10 minutes to replace them and then charged $130 for labor and an additional $85 for the service call. I have never, ever had a service where they charge labor and service charge. Its one or the other (Also, $130 for 10 minutes of labor?). Complained and repairman said its company policy and should take it up with Whirlpool which we are. We recently had our Kitchenaid side by side built-in go out as well, luckily under warranty. Their products and service have gone steadily downhill year after year. We were loyal customers at one time but no longer. Check all the reviews out there on any appliances you are considering before you buy another Kitchenaid.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator with French doors and a bottom freeze
I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator with French doors and a bottom freezer compartment for about $2,600 in July of 2013. By mid-2016, we began to experience problems with the refrigerator. There was water leaking onto the floor after water had filled the tray at the bottom of the refrigerator and had frozen. A certified KitchenAid repair person replaced the defective part. The repair person was very familiar with the problem as the company had replaced quite a number of these. KitchenAid supplied the part free of charge because of the frequency of this problem. There was a service charge of $125.00 and a labor charge of $89.00, bringing the total to $214.00. Within two months, we had another problem, this one with the ice maker. The KitchenAid recommended company sent its technician out again. This time the bill totaled $335-$125 service, $129 labor, $75 new ice maker, and $6.37 tax. We had given the service provider the exact make, model, and description of the problem. Again, they were very familiar with the problem, but sent a technician out who did not have the part on the truck! He is scheduled to return after the weekend. Frankly, after reading others reviews on this site, I have to agree that I would not buy a KitchenAid product again. Why should anybody be shelling out over $500 for parts and labor on a three year old, high end, appliance? Our last KitchenAid refrigerator, which we left at our former residence, was 17 years old and had never required service of any kind. KitchenAid is apparently not interested in providing a quality product, though were paying for one and, according to the reviews on this site, KitchenAid is not interested in providing good customer service. Im frustrated with this refrigerator, which never produced ice as well as my old KitchenAid. Im frustrated with the certified KitchenAid repair company, and Im not willing to become frustrated by contacting customer service because all these reviews have all made it clear that it would be a waste of my time.

Our new side by side KitchenAide refrigerator has now 3 times only been able to cool to 55 degrees F. Apparently the technicians have problems finding the cause of coil freeze up on the dual evaporator units. These should be taken off the market until the engineers can figure out what is causing this. I cant believe I replaced on operating 15 year old refrigerator with this $2400 lemon!

Our $600 KitchenAid microwave failed after less than 2 years. I spoke with customer service about repair, and was told that replacement parts are not made for this item as its a countertop appliance. Was not marketed as such - was sold to me as an installed piece with a matching trim kit. I was told that I would just need to purchase another microwave given that Im out of warranty. Very disappointing to discover that a seldom-used microwave that retails for that much money cannot be counted upon to last for 2 years. Sadder still that KitchenAid is not willing to stand behind their product by at least offering a discount toward the purchase of a replacement product. Based upon this experience, I will not purchase another KitchenAid appliance.

KITCHENAID MODEL# KUD123HBWHO, DATE OF MANUF: 1996, INSTALL DATE 1996. A good note for the earlier Whirlpool dishwashers. I had this one for 18 years & the steel tub developed a leak due to a small hole rusted through. It took 2 months, but Whirlpool has finally replaced my unit with a new one. The original warranty was for 25 years on the tub. This unit was 18 years old, without any other problems. I did have to pay the $95.00 diagnostic fee to have an independent appliance repair company to come & confirm the damage. This was an excellent example of customer service, in this instance.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS301XBL7 - The plastic rollers on the top and bottom are cheap and break a couple of years. We have replaced 3 out of 4 roller assemblies and anticipate the 4th to go soon. Also, the controls on the front are very touchy. If you lean against the counter and accidentally touch the dishwasher/control board, it will turn on or start cycling. This forces you to lock the panel, but that is not convenient. Dishwasher works well and have no problems with it.

Dishwasher model KUDS03CTWH2 - Have had this dishwasher for about 6 to 8 years. It never washed dishes clean from day 1. Had a repair man out twice while it was under warranty. His answer was it is energy efficient. In other words it saves energy but does not wash dishes. I now use Heavy Duty cycle along with Pro Scrub for one wash and first need to soak my dishes and silverware. Much of the silverware does not clean. It cost us $1200.00. I will definitely never buy Kitchen Aid again. We are not happy with our stove or refrigerator which were bought at same time.

I unplugged it and tried it again. This time the process started, but about a minute into the clean, it stopped and said feature not available. This is maddening. I loved the way this fridge keeps produce fresh. However, several months after the warranty expired the ice maker quit working. Service man (recommended by appliance store) replaced it but did not fix the problem. They then replaced the compressor, evaporator, and valves. Quit working again. Now they say that it is a sensor (or a board) and needs to be ordered but will take 1-2 weeks. Ive lost two full freezers loads full of frozen food because the freezer temperature wont go below 30 degrees. Repair man stated that this model has 6 boards that can go wrong and often do. Today, ice maker is not producing ice again! Have another call into serviceman. This is the most expensive ($3,700) and the most problematic refrigerator that Ive ever owned. Am looking for a new refrigerator and am sure that it will NOT be a Kitchenaid.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator just over 1 year ago and have been having issues with the ice maker since about month 10. I just dont understand how consumers are left holding the bad end of the stick with products that are sub-par when we purchase in good faith and even purchase extended warranties. I was asked when I called for service of the same issue for the second time in about a month, if I had called the manufacturer to inquire about the issue. I quickly responded that this is the very reason that I purchased a 3-year extended warranty and that I consider this to be her/the companys job to investigate and find out and not mine. I suggest before anyone purchases a major appliance to do a considerable amount of research to find out the good, the bad, and the ugly about the product. Otherwise, you will spend a lot of time being frustrated.

I am sick to my stomach... Just redid my entire kitchen in KitchenAid products thinking they were a good investment. The built-in wall oven is the WORST. I have used it once, for one batch of cookies - 350 degrees, bake time - 10 minutes. The first sign of trouble was how loud the oven was when cooking, seriously annoying. I figured I could get used to that, thinking it was just new technology at work. Was I ever wrong. The fan (and it is loud) has continued for an hour... As I write this, it is still as loud as can be. And we are talking only 10 minutes of cook time at 350 degrees! I am so bummed I cant stand it. I have never written a review for anything in my life, but because I know that I am going to have absolutely no recourse on this (I can hear it now... But there isnt anything wrong with the oven), Id like to prevent someone else from making the same mistake.

Less than two months after installation, the lettering on the burner control knobs is dissolving off, and smears off with the touch of a finger. I called Kitchen Aid for new knobs, and they said they would send new control knobs as a one time courtesy. They do not consider it under warranty, as they call it a cosmetic issue. While at my parents house they described a plastic odor from their Kitchen Aid Convection oven when the oven is used (all electric). I turned the power off inspected the connections on the outlet for the oven and also the connections to the oven itself. All are tight and no signs of heating up etc. I plugged everything back in and we turned it on, nothing at first but after about 3-5 minutes you could smell an odor from the upper portion of the unit. Again turned everything off, opened up the back panel and there it was, the oven control board had a larger connector which feeds power to the oven elements and it was melted to the board. I removed the board for replacement. A local company near us (Servall) had a heck of a time finding this part and the connector as well, the board is manufactured by Eletrolux but is in the Kitchen Aid. As of now, the cooktop just works but no displays since the oven control board also controls the displays. I am a master electrician with in-depth knowledge of controls, there has to be something wrong with the board from Electrolux which has been causing all the headaches for all these customers. I am not sure if the self cleaning function has been used but will recommend that it not be used unless someone is there and they want a possible fire. What a shame and shame on Kitchen Aid for not doing something for all these people who have paid in excess of $1000.00 for a heater. Buy another brand and let other know about it as well, Electrolux is a large company or brand that is well known in Europe for its quality, too bad Kitchen Aid botched this one up. Someone needs to step up to the plate make it right before someone gets hurt. You can fix a house but not a life.

KitchenAid Refrigerator Model #KSSC42QVS00; part #10219462 - Total frustration! They should be more accommodating to us and all who have filed complained on this site. We purchased our $8,000 refrigerator from Slyman Brothers in St. Louis in 2009. A couple of months ago it started making a hissing sound and finally quit working about 3 weeks ago. We call a certified KitchenAid service agent, very helpful, but found no help via KitchenAid or Whirlpool. He was advised to order a board that we received a few days later. The service technician returned only to find out it did not fix the problem. He was then advised by KitchenAid that it needed another part - part #W10219462. After some investigating, we were told by KitchenAid that that part was no longer available. I checked further and found a generic part that Sears claimed would work. That part was delivered, wrong part once again. We again called Sears and they ordered another part, which we received today, and it too was the wrong part. We were told by the Sears part department that they could not obtain that part. It was no longer made. This is a real problem. Here we are, left with this beautiful refrigerator that doesnt work because they no longer make the replacement part. I am not stopping here!

The same model - a KitchenAid counter depth 29 inch depth refrigerator was put in our new kitchen by a reputable contractor, in addition to a new KitchenAid dishwasher, stove and in counter microwave. The refrigerator lasted exactly 22 months at which time the freezer stopped working. We called a service repair man and he noted that it was a very serious problem - the entire cooling unit of the refrigerator needed to be replaced and would cost $1500-1600 to repair. He advised we buy a new refrigerator. We are in the process of doing so, as the repair man said the refrigerator portion of it may last 2 days or 2 weeks. This is totally unacceptable. Purchased a higher end Kitchen Aid dishwasher model KUDE60FVSS3 in 2010. End of 2016 dishwasher was having issues with it not draining at the end of the cycle. Had a local repairman out twice. He replaced the drain pump and repositioned the drain line - didnt fix the issue. Contacted Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer service and set up an appointment with a factory authorized technician. Factory certified tech couldnt figure out what was wrong (test was not producing an error code). He suggested replacing the main board and drain valve sensor - ($400+). He couldnt guarantee that this would fix the problem since he couldnt get an error code. I understand that appliances break down, and I was prepared to have this one repaired, but when the fix is a trial and error throw money at it approach, this deems a product as disposable, since its cheaper to buy something new.Although the dishwasher is 6 years old, I estimate that it has run less than 1500 cycles (running it every 3-4 days over the 6 years). Also, in the 6 years Ive had to replace the cutlery baskets twice - cheap plastic garbage. I sent a complaint letter to Whirlpool executives and their response, although quick, was one basically one of Were not prepared to do much. KitchenAid use to have the reputation for quality and reliability. Now they have cheapened the design to where the higher end models are no different than a cheaper $300 disposable machine. There was nothing wrong with the quality of money I paid for this dishwasher, but certainly Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid quality and reliability leaves a lot to be desired. Will never buy another Whirlpool product, nor will I recommend.

We purchased this very expensive fridge in May 2010 and the appliance store
We purchased this very expensive fridge in May 2010 and the appliance store gave us a 5 yr warranty which we used on 5 different occasions. Long story shortened greatly... 2 yrs in we had water leaking on the floor which was warping the newly done wood! Ahh! We couldnt figure out what was going on b/c it both seemed to be running/leaking as well as there was water freezing up in the back of the freezer, until it created a frozen pool in the bottom and started to leak out the front. So I turned off the water supply (stinks to have this huge fancy fridge and NO ice or cold water!) But that didnt seem to stop the prob. First they said it required the duck bill to help w/ draining the water inside the fridge which wasnt covered under the warranty- even though KA had HUNDREDS of calls on this issue at that point in 2012. Then later we found that we were experiencing 2 separate problems. We needed a faulty valve which was covered and the repair company was nice and thorough in fixing the duck bill for free. The valve we were told might have been b/c the water was freezing inside the ice cube maker in the fridge (our ice is not indoor but in bottom freezer on left side). He showed me how the water was frozen inside the hard plastic tubing. NOTE that we DID defrost it and that sorry to say didnt help. ALSO BE AWARE that for us these issues seemed to coincide via coincidence or not.. We are unsure... But seemed to occur when either someone left the freezer opened for a prolonged time.. OR we went out of town for over a week and the freezer remained unopened. Unfortunately, we have never gotten an answer on that one.. BUT we just came back from a 1 month trip overseas and bam! The prob was back! Grrrr.. Anyway... So that repair of the duck bill and double valve seemed to work for 3 yrs.. b/c now we are in 2015 and experiencing very similar issues again. I called our old repair guys again and they told me that KA has changed out the duck bill for a new piece called the goose neck/P-trap drain tube. We just ran out of the warranty of course last month.. So to fix this would be $110 labor, $80 service fee + part $25. I found this website that shows how to put it in yourself. I dont even cut my own grass or nail something in the wall myself.. BUT this looks so easy I will do it myself! See link to Repair Clinic! Not sure it will show up here but google it! Has a video. Im going to give it a try. ** Also check out the threads on this forum **. ALSO lastly.. Sorry.. Wanted to let you know that one of the other calls we have had to make on this which was NOT at difficult to figure out but would have been pretty costly had we not had the warranty was the condenser went out 4 yr after we bought it 2014. The thing just started not to cool anymore! But the guys figured it out pretty quickly and got the new part in straight away. OHH And lastly... Really it is.. Haha. The stainless doors are the WORST of ALL of our stainless appliances to clean. and EVEN are getting tiny rust spots which is crazy as our fridge isnt anywhere near the sink/stove. Anyway... SO FOR CLEANING them.. I have tried several different products and the one that has by far done the best at cleaning and keeping spots away is Weiman Stainless Steel Cleaner & Polish. I agree w/ ALL that has been said re: this machine.. Looks great.. But a total lemon! I will NEVER spend $2300 on a fridge again. I figured it was my once in a lifetime. Im grown up and get the kitchen I want & have it last a long time.. Im a teacher... So the cash is not flowing like the water on my floor. But I will never buy something like this again. Sadly too much $$, hassle, and time.

I purchased my Kitchenaid Refrigerator on 8/15/2018 plus a Service Agreement with Safeware. The model number is KRFF507HBL. Within six months the freezer LED light extinguished. Within the another six months the LED lights extinguished in the refrigerator. I guess this is a common occurrence with this product. In the owners there is a sentence that states LED Lighting do not need to be replaced. Thats is obviously a lie. This has been very costly to repair and of course Safeware the Service Agreement plan will not cover lights. I will never purchase Kitchenaid product or buy a Service Agreement especially with a third party company. I am so disappointed but I stuck with product that is garbage and not living up to its good name.

KSC23C8EYY Stainless Side by Side Fridge - I got sold this $2,000 plus (I am embarrassed I paid this much for junk) fridge for our brand new home. We were told KitchenAid is a great American-made brand and far easier to fix than any foreign product. Well, here is how I will sum up my opinion of our side-by-side KitchenAid fridge. It’s garbage. On the second day after delivery, here is what happened. It stopped cooling; we had to put everything in a cooler. The door alarm and lights are on even though both doors are closed. The doors are crooked. Water and ice will not dispense. It will not make any ice. A call is in to the place we purchased it from to see what we can do. We are hoping we can exchange it for the cheap foreign-made fridge we originally wanted. We will never buy KitchenAid again. Ill try to remember to do an update to advise on outcome.

After a spill over from a fruit pie I tried cleaning my oven for the first time. I followed the directions...wipe up the spilled water in the bottom of the oven and the very short cleaning cycle. The water was not even hot when the cycle finished and absolutely nothing happened. The convection oven does not work so its a very expensive stove that I could have purchased in the 60s. Shoddy product.

Two years ago I bought what I thought was a beautiful new refrigerator (Model KFFS20EYMS01). It was a lot of money for a teacher. However I was excited to replace my 20 year old Whirlpool. What a dumb mistake. I thought Id done my research but apparently not. Six months after the warranty had worn out the machine began to over chill and making a racket of noise. After jumping through hoops and many many angry phone calls to KitchenAid and their repair contractors they agreed to pay for the repair. But it didnt fix the problem. This went on for two months. It was a nightmare. Now a year later, again the machine is building up ice. Do not buy a KitchenAid. I will never again.

Kitchen Aid or its parent company had zero replacements of glass or whole doors. Zippo...anywhere. I had to repurchase a new stove so I ad an oven to use! Literally, thousands of dollars wasted. I have a Kitchen Aid refrigerator and it is poorly manufactured as well. I had to replace the stove/oven and purchased a GE. I would strongly urge others to not buy this brand. Ever.

I used to love KitchenAid. I had a suite (dishwasher, refrigerator and range/oven) from them for 10 years in my old home and had no issues. Naturally, when I went to purchase appliances for my kitchen remodel in my new home, I bought KitchenAid again. A year after they were installed, the fan in the oven started to rattle and I began to notice surface rust on the appliances. Ive always used stainless steel cleaner, and I never had this issue with my old appliances. The rust will not even come off with the cleaner. KitchenAid sent out a service technician who fixed the fan and looked at the rust. He said the rust was a problem with all of the stainless steel appliances when they get any water on them. Seriously? A dishwasher, refrigerator and oven? When do they not get water on them? When I contacted KitchenAid, they told me it was a cosmetic issue and therefore not covered. They did call their service technician who said he only saw a small amount of surface rust on the stove and did not look at the other appliances. He also told them it was an environmental issue. (Totally different from the story he told me.). KitchenAid also said it was a cosmetic issue and there was nothing they could do about it as I had used the wrong brand of stainless steel cleaner and the environment was too moist. My home is 30 miles from the ocean in a desert climate, and my previous home (where I did not have problems) was much closer to the ocean, so how it that environmental? KitchenAid offered to send out a second technician out at my expense. I will never buy another KitchenAid product again.

We remodeled our house and purchased a KitchenAid microwave oven wall unit Model number KEMS308SSS05. We have owned this unit 2 years and 2 months. The microwave always had a loud sound when running and did not heat. Well we had the microwave serviced within months of purchase while under the manufacturers warranty, it started heating better. Recently the turntable stopped working. We had 5 service calls before it was fixed. The motor had to be replaced along with several electronic boards. Now the oven will not heat to set temp and does not hold its heat. The repair company is coming to fix next week. I will never buy a KitchenAid appliance again. This was my 1st experience with KitchenAid. We also have a high end Kitchen dishwasher which we had to replace plastic parts for the upper drawer. Very Poor Quality. Now I know why KitchenAid does not have a customer service line you can call.

I purchased new KA 5 burner gas range, French Door Refrigerator and Dishwas
I purchased new KA 5 burner gas range, French Door Refrigerator and Dishwasher in 2013. All stainless steel appliances. Did this purchased as I owned Whirlpool or Kitchen Aid appliances all my life. (Yes, Im over 60). The new appliances are just scrap. It took 4 refrigerators to get one that either wasnt damaged or the compressor was not froze up upon delivery. 4th one, door didnt close right upon delivery. We will take it back and get you a different one. NO! Im not waiting another 10 days for a new one. Youll fix this one. 5 days later they arrived with part. Good thing its under warranty guy says. They dont make a hinge. You replace the entire door for $500. Im thinking exactly what did I purchase here. Then I went to self-clean the oven. It had 2 spots where some cheese dripped off a pizza. Clean it off with damp cloth. Wiped it down with dry towel. Started clean cycle. When it was completed, the oven finish was either pitted or gone. I called KA. Response was, if you put foil on oven floor, that will happen. First off, I dont use foil on oven floor. Second, if I did, I wouldnt need to self clean the oven! DUH! They told me to call a servicer in the area. He says yep, some of them do that, the new floor panel is $67+. (I dont remember how many cents). So I called KA again. So I need to pay for this? Yes sir. But its only 2 months old. Its not covered sir. Listen, Im over 60 yrs old. I have owned Whirlpool/ KA forever. Never saw an oven do this. If it is that unreliable of a coating, just what chemical is it putting into our food? What happened to good quality porcelain? I dont know sir. I wrote Whirlpool an email. Explained this whole thing to them. Never did get a reply.I guess when a corporation does sales of $20 billion a year, you dont care about your customers or the product you turn out. At this point they are selling scrap on a reputation they used to have. Problem is, selling scrap products on a great reputation, catches up. With all the companies produced under the Whirlpool name, you need to research, and go to another separate, independent company from Whirlpool. I will never buy KA again, or Whirlpool. Their customer service just is bad. Nothing like it used to be.

Just had the service man leave the house after determining that my 5-year-old built-in KitchenAid fridge was not working because of a malfunction in a now obsolete computer board. Only option is to wait weeks for a refurbished board which may or may not work and for how long, no one knows. Not very much choice as this fridge had custom panels made to match the kitchen cabinetry and the panels will not fit any other fridge. After reading the reviews on this site I see that this is a very common problem. I have always purchased KitchenAid - thought they were reliable and reasonably priced - no more. Clearly KitchenAid is a brand name which stands for nothing in the way of reliability and durability.

In 2012, I purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator, model KFCS22EVBL. Weve had nothing but problems with this product. First, the freezer leaked water onto my beautiful hardwood floor. The refrigerator was repaired but it ruined my hardwood floor. My research indicates that this is a known design defect. I wrote a complaint letter to a Whirlpool executive, who referred me to their quality assurance expert. What a joke! I was left extremely frustrated and angry. Neither Whirlpool nor its QA representative understand the concept of customer satisfaction. Second, the refrigerator is extremely noisy. We have an open floor plan and sometimes we have to speak over noise from the refrigerator to hear conversations. Lastly, cleaning the coils is a nightmare. The user instructions state There is no need for routine condenser cleaning in normal home operating environments. I dont have pets; however, due to dust buildup, I need to vacuum the coils at least 2-3 times a year. Additionally, dust tends to collect behind the front coil and there is no way for the average consumer to reach the area behind the coils. Yet, Whirlpools instruction states Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush to clean the grille, the open areas behind the grille and the front surface area on the condenser. Gee, I wish I can figure out how to get behind the front coil. (The attached image shows unreachable dust behind the coil). I suspect the refrigerator was purposely designed this way to shorten the lifetime of the refrigerator. Whirlpool has underestimated this consumer. I will no longer purchase another Whirlpool product, especially since Im also having problems with my KitchenAid double oven. Im now looking for another refrigerator.

We did a complete kitchen remodel Jan 2012 and chose a KitchenAid double oven. Model #KGRS505XSS02. It’s been a super disappointing experience all the way around. The rubber feet broke on the stovetop grates. Kitchenaid and Lowe’s both said that’s not under warranty and they don’t sell the feet alone so we would need to replace the entire grate for much higher costs. It scratches the stovetop! Next the top oven igniter broke. It was repaired under extended warranty I purchased, not by Kitchenaid. Knobs broke next, would not turn. Again fixed under my extended warranty. Next bottom oven igniter broke but now not under warranty. Next top oven igniter broke again! We called Kitchenaid very angry but they offered no resolution. Now top oven igniter has broken for the 3rd time!! What’s up with Kitchenaid? We got a lemon for sure!

My 2-year-old refrigerator started flooding from the bottom freezer. When I called KitchenAid, I was told I had to pay for the service call and they would pay for the replacement part. Since I had been chopping ice sheets from the bottom of the fridge for weeks to prevent flooding, I agreed. When the repairman arrived with the replacement part, he knew the exact problem since the part which took the excess moisture in the fridge to the evaporation tray clogs - he explained it was too narrow. I was offered a part with a much wider diameter, although he explained it would work best with the old part out and no replacement. When I phoned KitchenAid back to receive compensation for the $91 service call - the problem is in the design. I was told no, and that I owned the fridge and KA had no responsibility (After all, they had given me a free replacement part). My ice maker broke after 1 year. The fridge periodically freezes my produce and the meat/cheese compartment cover broke after a year. This was a very expensive fridge.

The stove started by making HORRIBLE noise. When I would call kitchen aid they said it was normal. My husband was able to fix it. The fan was hitting on something. Then the refrigerator stopped cooling and making ice. We had a service call and were told it was totally iced up. We had to defrost the refrigerator for 4 days, and keep putting towels to sop up the water coming out of the bottom. Now 3 months later the same thing has happened, no ice and not cooling. Also the dishwasher stopped closing, the rack had pieces that had broken. We spent about $75 in parts. Never had these problems with Samsung. The manufacturer would not replace it and I was furious. The warranty only covers repairs. It never worked from day 1. After three visits by repairmen over 7 weeks, the broken part, the appliance manager was installed and it worked temporarily. Then a few weeks later, the same thing happened. My builder was disgusted and took the oven out and gave me a brand new model (Whirlpool/KitchenAid wouldn’t). It was the same model but a brand new unit. After a few months, I had a similar problem and the repairman came out. And guess what, it’s the appliance manager again. I do not want this model back in my house. Do I have to give even one star? I would rather have neon or negative stars. I purchased the full range of KitchenAid equipment (microwave, dishwasher KUDS02VR and gas range, architect II). Fortunately for us, we also purchased the extended warranty even though I thought with top end equipment we probably would not need it.The microwave has had multiple call outs over the 4 years of owning the piece: F2 errors, cooling fans that dont just turn on but partially start then stop then start for a second then stop and start for 10 minutes or so at a time. Its driving me nuts! The dishwasher has trouble cleaning anything. It leaves dishes dirty and the glasses have developed white film on them. Dishwasher has gotten clogged and according to the technician because we have the audacity to use it . We now use dishwasher magic every month.Range oven: First of all, the door lock keeps locking with an error when you use the oven above 400F and you cannot open the oven door until it has cooled down and you reboot the system by removing power, this you have to do multiple time before the door complies. We replaced locking mechanism, now it seems to work at last. Secondly, every time you use the clean oven function, the electronics go on the frizz. Now, we are without an oven again for a week while we get a technician to come again to look and hopefully fix the electronic issue.Through all this (including digital movies of the issues, pictures etc., sent to KitchenAid), the general response has been that all equipment works as designed. Works as designed! They should fire the designers and send the specs to some elementary school kids who could do a better job!I, for one, hate KitchenAid and will never buy another product from them again and will tell as many people as I can how lousy their products are.

Out of self defense we have had to learn to do our own maintenance, which is difficult for senior citizens. Even at that, to date, we have spent 4 times on parts and maintenance, than the machine originally cost. Ive written to the CEO of Whirlpool several times, even sending letters by return receipt requested. The machine is now 7 years old and has been a nightmare for 7 years. We are finally going to dump it. We are NOT replacing it with KItchenAid, Whirlpool or Kenmore (all made by the same manufacturer.) We are not surprised to see, by reading these reviews, that KitchenAid is still putting out trash. What a pity, our previous KitchenAid dishwasher lasted 20 years and was replaced for cosmetic reasons. Something BAD has happened to this company. Shame on Consumer Reports for continuing to rate them highly, but then Consumer Reports does not have to keep them running.

I had an issue with the icemaker (not making ice). I called KitchenAid and technician came out. He stated he needed to order a part. We left for the weekend, came back and because the technician did not restart the refrigerator, we lost everything in the refrigerator and freezer. That was 3 months ago and icemaker is still not fixed.

We purchased the KA model KFIS29BBMS02 in December 2013. We noticed it was rather noisy but we were told that refrigerators make some noise. We have already had technicians out 4 times. They have replaced the evaporator fan motor on July 25 for a flapping noise. That noise is still present. We have a high pitched whirring noise that happens a few times each day. We have found out the mostly constant humming noise is the compressor, as it is always running. We have been told at todays appointment that the compressor needs to be replaced since it is apparently leaking Freon and will hopefully keep working until the repairman can get the part - which is on back order because so many have needed to be replaced!!!! We have also had to replace the touch pad control panel as it popped out of the front of the fridge! After 9 months, we are still unsatisfied with the refrigerator and the KitchenAid brand. So disappointed.

In April, I unfortunately spent $9,000.00 on KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. Since then, I have had problems with the refrigerator. 3 service calls! Now it is Christmas Eve and the refrigerator is not cooling. I am having 22 people to dinner on Christmas. The repair man came and told me that it needs a new compressor. To make matters worse... it needs to be ordered. A 6 month old refrigerator should not need a new compressor! Obviously, it is a lemon. Called Customer Service. Apparently, KitchenAid has no customer service. I requested a new refrigerator because I do not want to keep fixing a defective product. What happens when the warranty runs out? Spoke to a CSR and her supervisor. Just kept reciting the script. Under my warranty... the compressor is a replaceable part so I can not get a new refrigerator. I know that the CEO Jeff Fettic wouldnt want the repaired defective refrigerator either! So then I asked KitchenAid to find a compressor and install it so I can host the XMAS dinner. I was told that is not possible. Best they could do was overnight it and since tomorrow is Christmas, the part would not be shipped until Thursday. KitchenAid is not only ruining my Christmas dinner but it sounds like I wont have a working refrigerator for a while. Not even sure if they really are having the part overnighted. Bottom line.... KitchenAid does not care about a customer once you buy their products. No effort on their part, no matter what the circumstances! I am up the creek regarding my Christmas Dinner and they dont give a damn. Additionally, KitchenAid doesnt want to replace the refrigerator because they will get more money for all the parts the defective unit will need in the future. Or maybe I will buy an extended warranty! Do not buy KitchenAid. It is now December 27th and I still do not have a working refrigerator!

I have put the following letter in the mail to Whirlpool, owner of KitchenAid, because my experience over the last year has been so extremely frustrating. The letter summarizes my experiences. Please review the following timeline of events: On 10/28/2011, my husband and I purchased KitchenAid Dishwasher model #KUDS30IXSS from D&K Appliances in Newtown Square, PA. The dishwasher was installed by D&K on 11/3/2011 and by 3/5/2012, the dishwasher has no power. Then by 3/6/2012, D&K Appliances repaired it by replacing a fuse. On 5/21/2012, the dishwasher had no power. Then on 5/23/2012, D&K Appliances repaired it by replacing the fuse again. On 6/26/2012, the dishwasher had no power. The following day, 6/27/2012, D&K Appliances repaired it by replacing the fuse again and refers us to A&E Factory Service because they can’t figure out why the fuse keeps blowing. On 7/9/2012, A&E Factory Service looked at the dishwasher and tightened the connection to the fuse. They told us that we must run the hot water before we use our dishwasher. Since the dishwasher has a 4-hour delay start feature, this seems ridiculous. On Saturday, 12/15/2012, the dishwasher had no power. On Monday, 12/17/2012, we called Whirlpool Customer Service to request a replacement dishwasher. We had an extremely aggravating conversation with two customer service reps who insisted that the dishwasher needed to be looked at again by a third company, Micro Ovens of Delaware. Your rep set up a repair visit for 12/19/2011, between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.On Wednesday, 12/19/2012, I placed a call to Micro Ovens to see if I can get a more exact time that they will be arriving. They informed me that they do not come to my area and that Whirlpool should not have set it up. I then called Whirlpool Customer Service again. Your rep was very kind and apologetic and handled the call very well. However, despite her best efforts, she could find no one to repair my dishwasher before Christmas, 12/27/2012 was the first available. Between 12/15/2012-12/27/2012, I had no working dishwasher. On 12/27/2012, Ace Appliance Service of Delaware Valley spoke to your tech line while they are here. They were informed that there is a “Fuse Kit” that needed to be ordered. This will take about a week to come in. Ace replaced the fuse to get my dishwasher working in the meantime. On 1/3/2013, the dishwasher had no power. I called Ace Appliance to see if the “Fuse Kit” has come in. They advised me that the wrong thing arrived yesterday. They will order the right thing. I asked for the right thing to be overnighted. They advised me that I would have to pay for that because Whirlpool would not. They will not set up a new date for the install of this kit until it comes in, which most likely will be Monday. Throughout this process, I have been appalled at how many times someone has referred to the rules set up by Whirlpool as the reason for not doing what should be done to make this situation right. I need a replacement dishwasher. Any advice you can give as to how you can make this happen would be greatly appreciated.

This top of the line KitchenAid refrigerator has not worked properly since Day 1. One problem after another. Whirlpool Corporation is a disgusting company to deal with. Told they will repair, but never allow a return. Every time we had a service technician come out, they would say something different from the previous technician. Whirlpool said they needed to pull the whole ceiling out, including wiring, to stick in a small foam pad to correct a problem issue with this model rather than replace this Lemon. They knew all the problems this French door model had but refused to fix them properly. Both refrigerator and freezer made me lose expensive medication and groceries more than once. They would not reimburse.

After six years, our microwave stopped working. A service repairman said he could fix it for $375, something to do with the panel door message. I figured I could go without the microwave for a while. Then after cleaning the oven, the glass shattered in the microwave. Heat must have risen and too hot. The oven still works, but the glass is still getting into the oven and on the floor. Of course, this model is discontinued. Im looking at GE as a replacement. Too bad as everything else in our kitchen is KitchenAid. I would not recommend anyone doing their kitchen with this company.

We purchased a Kitchen Aid gas stove-top in August 2010, for $1,323. Today, I noticed that the knob for the fan was cracked in two places, because it is made out of cheap junk plastic. We barely ever used that fan. We bought a Kitchen Aid stove, based on their reputation, which apparently they no longer deserve. I asked them to replace the obviously defective piece, but they just copied and pasted a bunch of warranty paragraphs. So instead of replacing the knob for me, they would rather have me write reviews of their product. So here it is!

We upgraded to get the nicer KitchenAid dishwasher. Weve had it for five years and it is working terribly for the last several months - for a while I was fully washing the dishes to put them in the dishwasher, only to have them come out dirtier. My husband has been able to fix it but then a few weeks later it will start doing a bad job again. This has happened probably five times now. I want it replaced SOOOOO badly. Apparently dishwashers are supposed to last on average 10 years - so our upgrade has done half the time. Will not be buying KitchenAid again...

Called Kitchen Aid to advise that my stainless steel Kitchen Aid refrigerator began developing rust marks 2 years after purchase despite using stainless steel cleaning product recommended. Advised that cosmetics such as rust or discoloration after 30 days from date of purchase are not something they will address. Advised that they do not sell warranty for rust or discoloration. My Kitchen Aid stainless steel range which was purchased at the same time also has a spot where it is discolored. I expect this is only the beginning. The stainless steel used is manufacturing Kitchen Aid is obviously VERY poor quality. When I asked both the customer rep and the manager if Kitchen Aid considered it okay that their products should begin rusting after 2 years, they stated that they were only saying that after 30 days cosmetic issues like rust and other discoloration is not something they can help with. Nor is it something that they will warrant. If you are looking for your appliances to look good in your kitchen for more than a couple of years, I do not recommend Kitchen Aid.

I have a KitchenAid Double Oven Gas Range. I read up on the oven before purchase and my purchase was due to the high ratings it received. I love the double oven, but I am very disappointed with the stainless steel stove top range. I consider my self pretty careful with my appliances, but taking care of the stove top is ridiculous. It scratches easily and within weeks of use, brown stains have formed around the burners which will not come off. Of course, you cannot use abrasives and stainless steel cleaner does not work. This oven is only a few months old and I planned on having it for a long time especially with the price paid and being a KitchenAid appliance which is known to be a reputable name. I am at a loss, I am hoping KitchenAid will stand behind their name and do something to make this right.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator. I could never get the ice maker out. Later found out it was stuck shut. At about 11 months I notices residue on the bottom of my glass after my drink sat. The volume of the powdery substance was quite substantial and noticeable. I really worked on the ice maker and forced it open. There was a pile of white powder inside the ice maker and on the sides of the interior. I cleaned it thoroughly removing all white power and thought the problem was solved. They just forgot to clean it before shipping it. After cleaning it the water/ice was clear. Within 3 months I noticed the white powder was back in my drinks. I cant believe how much of this powder I must have ingested. I called KitchenAid. Sorry you are out of warranty. I suggested they come out and get a sample of this white powder and identify it as harmless or toxic, if not for me then other who may have not noticed it. Sorry your out of warranty. Can I send you a sample of this powder and you can tell me what it is and if it is normal to be in my drinks. No. CAUTION!! LOOK in the bottom of your glass after the ice has melted. Dont let your children drink this substance. Write me if you have had similar experience.

We want to thank Chris from B.C. who posted detailed instructions for repairing the electronic control board for Kitchen Aid refrigerators. Our 5 y.o. premium cabinet depth Kitchen Aid model #KBFC42FTS02 had the same problem that Chris described (constant alarm chirping, flashing lights on control panel), but our fridge was still cold. The Kitchen Aid affiliated repair service (contracted by KitchenAid/Whirlpool) told us that the electronic control board needed to be replaced. However, they claimed that the factory which manufactured the parts in Japan had been destroyed by the tsunami and no more parts were being made. Further, I called the KitchenAid parts service line on their webpage and that person (also a contracted service, not a KitchenAid/Whirlpool employee) told us that the date listed for availability of the part was 2020 (which he said meant that they had no plans to supply the part in the future)! The repair service offered to take the part out (then we would have no working fridge) and send it out for repair, which could take up to 30 days - not a viable solution from our point of view. At the repairmans suggestion, we attempted to find a new or refurbished part online and were not successful. Obviously, lots of other folks are having the same problem with their KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. Before Christmas, reluctantly we schedule a repair visit to have the part removed and sent for repair. The repair service never showed, despite their assurances that a repairman was delayed but was on his way! After that, we were reluctant to trust them with the brains of our expensive refrigerator. After Christmas, we found Chris blog of 12/28/13, with his description of the parts we would need to repair the control board ourselves and detailed instructions. We were able to make the repairs and our refrigerator is now working. Our cost was under $20. Thanks, Chris - this was a welcome holiday gift! We cant believe how callous KitchenAid/Whirlpool have been in abandoning their customers. We will never buy another product from their company.

My Husband and I bought this stove 2 years ago for our rental unit, we never had any complaints from our tenants. But in January we moved in to the property and since then my mind has not been at peace. I have for little girls and we have had episodes were they pass by the stove and happen to bump into the stove and it will turn on the gas. I myself have leaned over the stove to get something and it will turn on, the sad part is we wont notice until we smell the gas. I tried buying some knob covers online but they did not fit due to an extra ring on each knob. So I called KitchenAid and explained the situation. I was expecting a solution, instead they sent some service guys who were very honest and said they couldnt do anything about it and that the company probably had no solution for this either. They recommended searching online for a piece that could cover all the knobs! Really? So if my house happens to blow up in the middle of the night its okay, or if my 3 year old turns on the stove and gets burnt then what? They need to recall these stoves or fix the knobs to be safer and harder to turn on.

I purchased 3 new KitchenAid appliances after having my Sears brand for many years 20 plus and not having one issue with them in that time period. I have had my KitchenAid appliance for less than 3 mos when I started to have problems with the french door model making funny loud noises when making ice. It took 3 service calls before they could resolve the problem. Now after a year, it is doing it again. During a Thanksgiving meal, it refused to heat up to the desired temperature needed. Again, another call to service man, time off from work to wait. The problem was covered under warranty. It took the service department two times to get the problem fixed. This should not be happening to a new appliance, unless it is terrible workmanship from the factory. Now, after a year and a half, my KitchenAid dishwasher is having leakage problems. It has not paid to spent the money they ask for these appliances and get such faulty appliances. I purchased a KitchenAid stove in 2006. In 2008, the electrical panel needed to be replaced. The electrical panel again has once again failed me, and the company says Im on my own because the warranty for electric has expired and it’s not a quality issue. First off, this is an ongoing problem with the electrical panel which is an obvious quality issue. Also, there is a slight bend on the front of the stove which causes water to seep in and destroy the panel over time. KitchenAid customer service could care less and left me hanging out to dry. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again and I highly advice anyone interested in this product to stay as far away as possible. We bought this Convection Oven/Microwave at the same time as our oven, KEBS107SS, and cooktop, KFGS 206VSS. After buying it at Sears and coming home and reading the reviews here, I was ready to cancel the purchase. Decided instead to purchase the 5 year extended warranty. Buying warranties is something we dont do. However, we were spending so much on these 3 appliances and after reading the complaints on the oven and microwave, we did purchase the 5 year warranty on the oven and the microwave. Less than 18 months later, the microwave went out. The service guy has been out twice with a 3rd trip scheduled. I have been without my microwave for 13 days and it will be another 10 waiting for the parts. The worst part was being without it while needing to cook for 25 during Christmas, which is not something Id expect to do with a microwave weve had less than 18 months. Next time we buy appliances, I will read reviews before we purchase and I will not purchase from KitchenAid. KitchenAid doesnt care about their consumers who buy their products. (That is a story Ill need to write on our cooktop that we didnt purchase the warranty on.) There are other appliances out there with better reviews. The KitchenAid appliances look nice, but the quality is not there. Our last microwave that was over the oven was not even broken when we replaced it and it was 15 years old without ever having a service call. It was GE and was the microwave that came with the house. It wasnt even an upgraded appliance! I dont write reviews, but I learned so much from reading these, and now that we are having problems with a relatively new appliance, I decided to write this for others.
