I purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher model KUDC031V on 2-15-10 for the price of $535.43. After owning this appliance for over a year and after much frustration, I feel compelled to voice my disappointment with this product. I personally have owned my last 3 Kitchenaid dishwashers and have always felt extremely happy with the product, however this is the worst appliance I have ever owned. I do not expectations from you. Just wanted to let you know how displeased I have been. This product does not clean dishes in the upper rack as well as on the bottom, it also is the noisiest I have ever heard. I will be replacing it with a Bosch, never again to deal with Kitchenaid.

Wish I had never purchased KitchenAid appliance. Beware. We have a double confection oven, induction cook top, dishwasher, microwave and fridge...all of them are junk. Oven door was broken right out of the box. Took about 1 month to get a new one and it doesnt work like they advertise that is for SURE. Dishwasher blew the hoses, ruined my kitchen floor and ceiling in the basement. Service man came and said oh yes we know that is a faulty clamp, fixed it and put a huge scrape in my hardwood floor. Fridge blew the hose to the ice maker, again my hardwood floor and ceiling in the basement service guy came out. Oh yes we have a fix for that...it is a faulty piece. Microwave just stopped working, service guy had no idea and wanted us to uninstall it so he could take it with him (it is an over the range hood microwave and weighs about 200 lbs) but he managed to get it working.Induction cook top blew up, smoke and all 1 year to the day of installation (but it wasnt covered because the appliances got delivered before they were installed) had to have a huge argument with customer service that the warranty was 2 years on major components. They said it was not a major component even though the cost of the new board was $800.00. They finally agreed to cover it. Was without a stove for several weeks. Then the dishwasher went again. My hardwood and basement ceiling all water damaged again. This time the water blew the board in the dishwasher. Over 1 month to get the parts just got it fixed 2 weeks ago. Then last week the Microwave stopped working again...still waiting for service. This was my dream kitchen that has turned into a nightmare. Every time I need service I need to take a day off work. I have replaced my ceiling tiles 3 times in the basement, my kitchen floor is warped and gouged and you know what they told me? That is not our problem take it up with your house insurance!

I bought a KitchenAid dishwasher not quite a year ago. My stainless steel door is streaking and looks very very ugly. We have only used professional stainless steel cleaning products. It is unfixable. Being under warranty, I called the company. It is not covered because it is a cosmetic problem. We figured out the dishwasher is leaking and causing the problem. Still not covered. I am very disappointed. Never ever buy Whirlpool or KitchenAid again. I bought a Whirlpool fridge 5 years ago and they have been out 6 times to fix that.

After a spill over from a fruit pie I tried cleaning my oven for the first time. I followed the directions...wipe up the spilled water in the bottom of the oven and the very short cleaning cycle. The water was not even hot when the cycle finished and absolutely nothing happened. The convection oven does not work so its a very expensive stove that I could have purchased in the 60s. Shoddy product.

The microwave component simply stopped working. After calling an Appliance Co. we discovered this exact issue happened 3 years earlier. Cost for parts? $1350.00! KitchenAid refused to cover the parts but did offer a 10% discount if we chose to buy an entire new unit! Ridiculous! Poor service and poorer quality. Never again!

This is my second built-in KitchenAid Refrigerator. The first one lasted 13 years and the second one is 7 years old. We have had a company authorized repair service come out at least 7 items and they have replaced several parts in an attempt to get the ice and water to work. They have finally given up and said that the door needs to be replaced. However, KitchenAid no longer makes this door so it means we have to spend $10,000 to replace this lemon refrigerator.

I purchased KitchenAid Dishwasher 2 drawer style. Its very expensive. Salesman toted as top of the line. First, a plastic part dropped of the inside. Repair man said poor planning. Leaks started. Repair man said dishes must not be too tall. So I checked this with every fill. Leaks keep on. Next, repair man said dont open the drawer during the cycle. It is a flaw in the design. So I started dishes at night and empty next morning. Leaks continue. The bottom drawer is corroded and rust seeping down, floor always wet. I was concerned about mold. KitchenAid said they have no complaints yet I looked on the internet and I find all sorts of complaints.

This machine was at least $200 more than the other machines. We bought it from Best Buy. We wanted a top-of-the-line washer that was a minimal fuss. This machine already broke once, but was covered by warranty. Thats not the worst of it, however. IT WILL NOT CLEAN YOUR DISHES! French Door Bottom Freezer Refrigerator: The handles continue to scratch from just day to day normal use. Ferguson, where we purchased a full suite of KitchenAid appliances, said they have had this complaint from other purchasers as well, but KA is not putting out a notice or replacing the handles. And we purchased an extended warranty from KitchenAid, but they dont even have our name correct on the warranty information. I’m never buying this brand again.

The refrigerator was in the house that we bought. It looked very nice and we were excited to have it. It is only 5 years old. It started making a horrible noise constantly. The repairman found the problem, but couldnt just buy the part needed. We had to buy a kit that costs $269 and $34 to ship!!! I already spent $99 for the repairman to show up once. Now I will have to pay him $99 again, plus labor. Never buy a KitchenAid anything!!!

We just completed installing a new kitchen, with all new appliances, cabinets, wiring, etc. as of December 2011. On February 4, 2012 while cooking a single potato, we looked at the KitchenAid microwave (Model KHMS2040WBL-1 Serial #TR 1 25 10840) only to discover that it was filled with flames. We pushed the stop button and the flames went out. The instructions screen continued to flash sensing, sensing until I unplugged the device from the outlet. Upon cleaning the microwave oven, we found that the potato was reduced to a small pile of glowing black carbon, the glass turntable was blackened and cracked, the plastic spindle upon which the turntable sits was about 50% burned away, and the paint under where the potato had been sitting was burned down to the raw metal.Reading the instruction booklet, I found that the device is supposed to sense when the food being cooked is giving off steam, and then shut itself off when no further steam is sensed. Obviously, this function failed.I called the KitchenAid customer service line (1800-422-1230) only to be transferred to the Safety Department at Whirlpool, the corporate owners of KitchenAid. After explaining my experience, the representative Timika ** offered to send a repair service to my house. A repair person from A&E came, agreed that there had been a fire and told us not to use the appliance again, because of consumer neglect. What the neglect is a mystery to me. In summary, Whirlpool has refused to cover the damage to the appliance even though it was manufactured in June 2011 and was still under the original warranty. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Consumer Protection Agency and the New York State Attorney Generals Office of Consumer Fraud.I am completely dissatisfied and angry with the Whirlpool response. They seem to want to avoid responsibility for (and resulting recall) a failure of the electronics board in this appliance. I have found the website ** which describes a class action suit over fires in KitchenAid dishwashers, also apparently due to failures in the electronics panel of those appliances.

I purchased model KDTE104ESS1 in the Spring of 2017. The motor failed after 2 years of light use. We were advised that it would be $550.00 to replace the motor. The Service Tech was surprised the motor failed so soon. After some research, I discovered that this was a known problem, so I reached out to KitchenAid to see what they could/would do (especially given the cost of the unit, its light usage, short lifespan and cost of repair). Their response was swift and simple-- they would do absolutely NOTHING! No discount for a new motor/repair, no coupon/rebate for a new KitchenAid dishwasher-- absolutely NOTHING. They are completely unwilling to stand by their product. Makes my decision easy - I will never again spend a penny on any KitchenAid product. RUN- Invest your purchasing dollars with a company willing to do the right thing and stand by its Products. I will be purchasing another dishwasher and IT WILL NOT BE KITCHENAID.

KitchenAid Dishwasher Model KUDS30FXSS. As a consumer I am loath to leave a bad reviews, but I have to say I am very disappointed in my dishwasher and in KitchenAid as a company. Within the first year a plastic valve sprang a leak and flooded my floor. A year and a half later the upper rack is broken, and the motor has failed. The failure of the valve and the rack I ascribe to bad design and/or use of substandard materials, but the motor problem is more complicated. The factory service technician wanted to assign blame to me, by suggesting that something hard left on the dishes of a piece of broken glass ruined the motor. I have been careful with this machine, and always rinsed dishes before putting them in. Before this I had an Asko Cylinda which got me in the habit of pre-rinsing. Over the 12 years I owned that dishwasher I had to call for service two or three times when small particles would get past the filters and obstruct the flow of water to the spray arms. The remedy was simply to remove the obstruction, however. It never required a new motor. The KitchenAid is supposed to have a soft waste disposal built in. One would think that would provide more protection, but, in fact, it not only failed to prevent a particle from getting in the system but there was nothing to keep it from destroying the motor once it got in. That suggests bad design to me. Secondarily, I have an issue with KitchenAid itself. At every turn the company pretends that customer satisfaction is primary. Their people are always polite, but they are just the velvet glove that hides the iron fist. But the bottom line, in my experience with the company, is that its strict and narrow policies mostly let them off the hook and out of responsibility when something goes wrong. Their service personnel express sympathy but tell you they are bound by policy. Of course, they are KitchenAids people, and KitchenAid makes the rules that make it difficult for the technicians to do right by the consumer. A company that values repeat business (I bought a KA refrigerator from the same designer series first) should barricade itself behind its rules only in the most flagrant cases of consumer negligence or abuse. I paid over $900 dollars for what I thought was a best-quality, USA-made product that would last and had an excellent company name behind it. I used it regularly and took good care of it. A year and a half later, the company will only fix half of whats now wrong with it, and informs me I am responsible for replacing the motor at a cost of $450. For that much money I could buy a Maytag (also made by Whirlpool) or I could triple that amount and get another Asko or a Bosch. Certainly, I will never trust KitchenAid again.

What a piece of junk! When did KitchenAid allow their products to become inferior to the point of totally frustrating the consumer. KitchenAid used to be a quality product. Ive only had this for 3 years - in the first year the plastic clips broke on the back of the thing and I had to contact a supervisor to get them in time for the holiday. Basically the top rack is worthless - totally and completely worthless. All the plastic pieces snap off and break - clips, rollers, etc. When you try to adjust them to get the rack to go back in so you can close the door the plastic things break. I ordered extra plastic clips when I got them the first time and those have broken. By the second year the bottom rack was falling apart and would not roll back in. The wheels are broken. Furthermore, the electronics is crap. I will use a setting and come back 3 or 4 hours later and it is still running - or trying to run. Half the time the dishes dont even get clean. Im so angry. Im a single parent and spent my tax refund check getting this and it works worse than the 10 year old thing that I had before this junk. At least the 10 year old dishwasher didnt have plastic pieces breaking. Stop making this crap in China and make it in the U.S. with quality parts and quit making it cheaply so that you can blame the Chinese for your own design flaws. Quit paying your CEO a fortune and making crap. Concentrate on making something that lasts. Since KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool I assume the same will be true of Whirlpools quality.

I purchased a 30 KitchenAid gas range with 5 burners from a local independent appliance dealership that I am familiar with and that I trust. I paid more than 1,140 dollars for this range and was very excited to have it. However, it soon became apparent that the Aqualift Clean System fell short of what its marketed to be. In essence, it doesnt work to get the appliance clean as it is promoted to. Following the manufacturers instructions precisely, I have tried to clean this range six times over the 8 weeks or so that Ive had it and each time was a failure. The floor of the oven comes clean but thats about it. The walls, back, roof, and door do not come clean. The problem is complicated further by the fact that these ovens are made with a Teflon coating on the inside that will be damaged by typical commercial cleaners, so essentially you end up with a self-cleaning oven that cant be cleaned no matter how hard you scrub it. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY OVEN WITH THE AQUALIFT CLEAN SYSTEM. IT DOESNT WORK and the manufacturer is no help at all when you call customer service.

Bought this June of 2016. Looks great and worked great. Received the ultimate error code. PO flashed every 10 minutes or so. Fridge shuts down and restarts. Fridge and freezer parts stopped working correctly. Replaced the pantry Drawer UI PCB circuitry board and the harness attached as instructed by Whirlpool through an authorized repair facility. Six hours later, error code returns and there are no noticeable changes. Had the evaporator motor replaced at a follow-up date, as the original part was wrong that was shipped. This cooled the fridge and freezer correctly, but the PO error code returned.$800 later, tech support at Whirlpool has 2 or 3 more ideas as to what else it could be. The fridge is out of warranty and customer support can only offer me $75 to help for the $3,500 spent. My 14-year-old Conquest fridge by Whirlpool in the warm garage is working better and has only cost me $45 in parts since new for a new fan motor. The design problem is that there is a circuit board under the water dispenser, and no way to keep any leaking water from frying the circuit if that was ever a problem. Im hoping the next dart we throw hits the problem(s) and fixes the issue.

The KitchenAid dishwasher I purchased in November 2019 is pretty, and its the quietest one Ive ever had. When its running, its hardly noticeable. But...its simply not good at thoroughly cleaning every dish and utensil, especially for the price point (≈$900), to warrant spending the money on it. Add to this, it is horrible at drying the dishes/utensils. I would not purchase again. I bought a suite of KitchenAid appliances when I got it as part of an entire kitchen remodel. The double-oven, dual fuel range and above-range microwave with vent are fantastic, and the cabinet-depth refrigerator is decent. But whoever designs and then builds KitchenAids dishwashers needs to go back to the drawing board. Next purchase will be a Bosch. Stay away from this model from KitchenAid.

Kitchenaid dishwasher model kude201xwh6 - Oh how I wish that I had searched your website for reviews prior to purchase! My situation sounds much the same as other reviews. The top rack rollers are simply defective. We have replaced ours through service calls and self repair no less than 5 times in the past 4 years. Finally on the last repair the technician completely replaced the roller and rack arms because the factory had recalled the parts. Yet, I wasnt notified of this by the company. My dishwasher had to break down first before the problem was addressed. To me this smacks of covert activity and doesnt promote my loyalty to the company. Additionally our motherboard has been replaced twice... The first replacement was defective. And today Im doing dishes by hand as the control panel is unresponsive again. We purchased the extended warranty - thank goodness, but again using a warranty on what will now be the 8th time a service tech comes to our home is ridiculous!! Worse yet when we talked to the service department, they have only documented three service calls! Whats that about?? In hindsight, I remember there was paperwork to sign on some calls and not on others. So, I cant prove or verify the number of visits through a paper trail. I would suggest always documenting whenever you call regarding your appliance or have a technician enter your home. Writing the dates, times, and contact person on the appliance manual would be an excellent place to store that information. With each service call the response time is getting shorter. Of that I am very thankful, but shame on any company that would have even three warranty service calls on a product! Buying an appliance shouldnt be a gamble; it should be a wise investment. We were thinking that perhaps the dishwasher was just a lemon. An oddity that the company would gladly replace. It does happen that for an unknown reason one will just be bad. Unfortunately, as I read these reviews, I dont see much hope of the situation being rectified to our satisfaction. I will pursue a request for replacement and hope the company will honor my consumer request. It appears their dishwasher line leaves much to be desired. Other review sites indicate that the KitchenAid dishwasher is better passed over for a more reliable brand. It is unfortunate as the dishwasher meets my expectations when it is operational. However, I will report any satisfactory outcomes I encounter through my attempts at recourse.

The KitchenAid refrigerator we recently installed (1 week ago on 08/06/2020) model KBFN502ESS02 - a built-in model (at about $9,000.) does not hold -5 degrees F in the freezer. Some of the foods we use like that temperature. The documentation about the model in the User Manual says the set point for the freezer is -5 degrees F to 3 degrees F. We set -5 F into the system. We today 8/12/2020 had a service tech (factory authorized) check the freezer and he found that the average temp in the freezer from the diagnostic panel showed 0 degrees F over the last 10 hours. The factory rep he talked to said that was within specs. There are no specs in any document other than the set point can be as stated above. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID. Their products look good but don’t believe any documentation or specs.

Bought a KitchenAid dishwasher (Mod KUDS35FXWH8 Ser F24801339) and clips holding the top rack on its rails broke within months of purchase, causing top rack to partially or fully collapse very often. Been living with this for the past several years. Too much spent and too much hassle to replace, as Id have to break tile to replace the unit. Very disappointed. Done with KitchenAid, as if a fairly premium model uses cheap plastic that cant support a top dish rack with normal use, then I have to question the quality of the entire unit. My thinking is that if they do not have the right people, process and engineering sense to add .05 to the cost of key parts in a dishwasher that would allow it to endure at least an average life without breaking, then why should I trust that they would have skills and sense to make the rest of the unit last an average life. KitchenAid made an extra .05-.10 cents on my purchase and lost potentially hundreds or thousands of future customers as a result. Word of mouth, bad online reviews, Consumer Affairs notice... will lead to this. KitchenAid: time for a change.

My wife was having issues getting the upper rack on the Kitchenaid Model KD
My wife was having issues getting the upper rack on the Kitchenaid Model KDFE304SS0 dishwasher back into place. Problem was traced to the right hand upper rack trucks bearing retainer failing, releasing multiple bits of plastic and several small stainless bearings into the interior of the dishwasher. Closer inspection indicates that the manufacturer chose to use a nylon (PA6?) carrier which is degraded by moisture and heat eventually causing the carrier to break down. Why they chose that material when so much of the other components are POM which would have held up is beyond me. This will be a problem for others for sure if they use the heated dry. An additional worry is that not all bearings could not be recovered so there may be additional issues due to small metal bits traveling through the rest of the system. The unit was purchased from Sears July 17, 2015 so entirely too soon for such a failure. Clearly a poor choice in materials.

Our KitchenAid oven/convection oven combo with Microwave Model # KEMS308SWH
Our KitchenAid oven/convection oven combo with Microwave Model # KEMS308SWH blew a fuse while on self-clean. Repairman said that KitchenAid ovens blow fuses all the time while on self-clean. He suggested that I not try to use that feature again because it will happen again and that Kitchen Aid tends to overheat. Repairs are expensive since the entire oven has to be removed from the wall and the back removed to access the fuse. We now realize that we have paid over $3000 for an oven with a feature we cannot use and, after reading other complaints, could even be dangerous. Kitchen Aid should do something about this immediately.

Ordered a KitchenAid refrigerator KRM706ESS01 just over a month ago. The refrigerator stopped working on Sunday the 20th and did not see a technician until the 23rd. The technician came to the house and told us we needed a part to repair which will not be delivered until the 31st and who knows when the technician will conveniently show up. Now we are out $1000 of Thanksgiving food for 18 people at my house and KitchenAid/Whirlpool offered $100 for the inconvenience, right!! I spent over 2 hours on hold waiting to talk to someone who could actually do something and when I finally was able to speak to someone they were of no help (Tim #**). Looks as though we will be out of a refrigerator for the foreseeable future. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again and will do everything in my power to spread the word of a terrible product/customer service.

I have a KitchenAid Double Oven Gas Range. I read up on the oven before purchase and my purchase was due to the high ratings it received. I love the double oven, but I am very disappointed with the stainless steel stove top range. I consider my self pretty careful with my appliances, but taking care of the stove top is ridiculous. It scratches easily and within weeks of use, brown stains have formed around the burners which will not come off. Of course, you cannot use abrasives and stainless steel cleaner does not work. This oven is only a few months old and I planned on having it for a long time especially with the price paid and being a KitchenAid appliance which is known to be a reputable name. I am at a loss, I am hoping KitchenAid will stand behind their name and do something to make this right.

Whirlpool owns KitchenAid. BUYER BEWARE!! The dishwasher does a good job but God help you if you ever need to use the warranty. Mine has a door leak. The repairman came out 5 times and replaced the tub twice, the door liner, the door, the hinges and the latching mechanism. There is still a 50/50 chance it will leak depending on how hard you slam the door and I do mean SLAM. They have taken up almost 15 hours of my time. The warranty says they will repair or replace the washer. THEY WILL NOT. You are dealing with dishonest people with no integrity. They are like an insurance company and they will do whatever they can to wear you down and not honor their obligations. Do yourself a favor. When looking at products, pass up the KitchenAid items.

Tried several times and the oven looks just as dirty after the cleaning cycles. I Cant even use chemical cleaners because I may damage the finish on the oven walls. We have an 18-month old KitchenAid refrigerator - high end model with the freezer on the bottom. It began to leak water that settled at the bottom of the freezer. After a time, it would freeze so much that it would eventually leak out onto the floor. We looked in the book - no help there. I found your forum and a problem just like ours (same model even). They said it turned out to be a grommet that was too small and that a new style had been developed. So we wrote to KitchenAid about this. They denied that there were any problems. After several conversations with them and a copy of one of your forum notes on this, they finally did agree to at least pay for the part. Well the appliance man came and fixed it. It was indeed the old style grommet. He said it happens all the time. We wrote to them again and asked them about paying the labor (part was about $12 and the labor is $100). No, they would not do this. Apparently, according to the repairman, this refrigerator is not the only one with this problem. This model is also sold by Maytag and some other - maybe Sears? Just slap a different name on them and they all have this problem. So buyer beware. Make sure that they check this out before you bring it home or you too will be paying the price to fix it. We really bought what we thought was a quality product (now that we are retired and didnt want to have to deal with repairs all the time). So much for that! KitchenAid support was of no help at all. If I had to do it over again, I would not buy another KitchenAid product!

We purchased this KitchenAid refrigerator 2 years ago. The quality is amazingly poor. The flange on both crisper drawers broke during the first year. KitchenAid was kind enough to send replacements. Unfortunately they are the same design/same materials. Next the housing that covers the water filter broke off during the first filter change. Now, at two years, we have the plugged defroster drain that seems ubiquitous with these refrigerators. We shut the refrigerator off for a day with a small space heater directed at the drain in an attempt to thaw the thing out. No luck. Water still leaks down into the bottom of the freezer and eventually drains onto the floor. Weve had more problems with this unit than with every other refrigerator weve owned over the past 40 years - combined. Such a disappointment. KitchenAid use to make a quality product. Now their Kitchen products need constant Aid.

We purchased our Kitchen Aid dishwasher for about $1000.00, when we renovated our kitchen. From day one, it was not a great appliance. It did not clean the dishes well, and it actually dried specs of food onto plates instead of washing them off. The little compartment that holds the soap started sticking closed within 6 months from purchase. After a couple of years, the door started squeaking very loudly when it was opened or closed, which was followed by the door balance strings snapping, breaking, and throwing the door to the dishwasher wide open. We had to get the balance kit replaced, which by the way currently looks different than the old kit, and actually does not do the same job. Its way tighter. Because the door flew open when the strings broke, it caused the hinges on the side to bend. Those had to be replaced as well. These parts were replaced by a kitchen aid service person. After the parts were replaced, our dishwasher would no longer lock. We were told by the service person that our model had a lot of issues an d the parts that are made now do not match up with the actual dishwasher. When I spoke with Kitchen Aid about this, they played dumb. They told me it was out of warranty and they no longer covered any repairs beyond this. My argument is that they are not even providing people with correct replacement parts to get the units to work correctly, so it seems like they are breaking the rules of warranty by not supplying customers with correct parts. Its very disappointing that they dont do a recall on an appliance that has so many known problems.

We bought all new appliances for our lake house from the same company we had bought appliances for our primary home (and NO it was not from a big box store but a legitimate appliance company). In 2013 we purchased KitchenAid refrigerator, dishwasher, double oven, range, microwave. The first season we had issues with the freezer draw icing shut and condensationing. Called the company. They came out and made some adjustments. Everything seemed ok. In 2014 we noticed the ice would work periodically, but then just started working. The range and microwave have never kept the correct clock time. Then late summer about a month prior to shutting the house down for the season. The freezer just stopped working. Then wishing 14 days the refrigerator stopped working. Being the end of the season, we emptied the appliance. I have called the company that we had purchased the appliances from (which had went bankrupt and was purchased by another vendor). I have yet to receive a call from the vendor. Know Im stuck on an island and trying to find an appliance company to hopefully repair my 3-year-old refrigerator. Unless the appliance can be repaired reasonably soon and at a fair cost I would never purchase or recommend KitchenAid appliances again.

In September of 2016 we purchased a very expensive KitchenAid fridge, almost $3,000. It was supposed to be the top of the line. Thank goodness we bought the extended warranty, because as I write this I am waiting for the repairman to come out for the FOURTH time. This will be the third time that ice has built up along the inside of the back wall, and to fix it requires the unit to be shut off, drawers and shelves removed, and the ice to melt away so he can open up the back and do his thing. The ice build up impacts the fan, creating a loud noise, and inhibits the ability of the unit to make ice. The other service call was for a malfunctioning deli tray control. Prior to this unit, for 14 years I had a Bosch unit in my other home which worked flawlessly. I would never buy another KitchenAid fridge again.

I purchased this stove because it had a very large oven and I bake. Two weeks after installation I realized when I leaned up to get something from the cabinet above the stove I turned on burners, sometimes just enough for a gas leak and sometimes enough to burn my arm. First problem with design. A month later at Thanksgiving the turkey was in the oven and my grandson touched a knob with his arm and actually burned it. Thats how hot the knob. I see were due to a vent directly below them. Second design flaw.Later that afternoon. We realized the turkey wasnt getting done. Oven turned off by itself. Luckily I have a second oven. Very nice competent repairman (outsourced) checked the temperature of the knobs and they came in two degrees under government top number. He replaced an oven valve. This valve was replaced three times before the oven would function without failing. I took these safety and oven problems up with KitchenAid only to be told they were within government standards and be glad I bought a warrant for the oven. Cold, disrespectful and dismissive people. My wife and I bought a Kitchen made dishwasher model # KDS301XBL at Lowes store in Clermont, FL on August 23, 2011. It cost over $700.00. After about a year, we started to have problems with the control panel lights: going dim, not lighting up, etc., then the ceiling lights in our kitchen started to blink and the circuit breaker clicked off... We then called a repair service who replaced the control panel. Within 3 weeks, the panel started to leak water down the front of the new control panel unit. We called the service tech again and he said that the first tech should have replaced the vent and deflector because that is why the water was getting into the control panel causing it to short circuit. $130.00 spent on the first visit and $130.00 on the second visit all for a dishwasher that was not near 3 years old. This D/W has a control panel problem and should have been recalled. There is a class action Lawsuit in the USA and one in Canada also. Avoid this D/W at all costs ....

My parents bought this French door refrigerator Model # KRFC704FPS00 3 months ago (July 2017) from Sears in Cerritos. They paid a lot of money for this fridge. We called Sears first but because there’s no extended warranty, they don’t wanna schedule a service. Assistant Manager tried to help but that went down the drain. At first, it was making little to no ice then ice build up on the bottom drawer then few days after it was making this loud sound and not cooling anymore.I called, emailed, left messages through their website. No response. Posted on their FB wall. Responded so fast. Technicians scheduled, came and told my mom to go to Sears. Called Sears told me to contact Kitchenaid. Get the drift. Scheduled for repairs then days came near the technician reschedules. This is unscrupulous, delaying tactic that this company is doing. My mom’s health is at stake because she is taking insulin. My husband called it in; gave them the model number and all other information.Today I have to take a half day off of work. The usual response, well come between 1-5 PM routine; around 3 PM a repairman called to say he would be coming by to look at the stove, and put in an order for any needed parts. What the **? I purchased a second Kitchenaid microwave KMCS1016GSSo after my first one lasted about 11 years. My custom cabinets were built to fit this microwave and trim kit. I purchased the extended warranty coverage although this model received poor ratings. But it fit perfectly into my cabinets. I specifically asked 2 years ago when purchasing the second unit if anything goes out on microwave would I receive a replacement. I was told “yes, we’ll replace the microwave since we don’t repair countertop models.”About 2 weeks ago the lcd display digits started to burn out. I checked online and found this same model is still being produced. I called Whirlpool who’s the parent company to discuss my options since I had 2 more years on extended warranty. After escalation to 3 levels of supervisors I was told they would only send me the depreciated amount of the microwave. The terms state replace or give cash settlement. But I was told at this time they are not replacing the microwaves. This is very upsetting and breach of what I was told when I purchased the extended warranty because this model fits my cabinet and trim kit.

After an hour of oven smoking, refusing to open and oven message of too hot, flames were seen through the door, like a smoldering fireplace. I ended up calling 911 for oven fire. After trying to open the door and let smoke out, the appliance cooled down apparently while firemen were in the kitchen so that the flames dissipated and door would open. KitchenAid model KUDE70FXSS Dishwasher - Bought this unit in 2011. Out of the box, the control panel never worked right. I would frequently have to reset by unplugging and re-plugging the machine to get it to work. 3 years in, the control panel died and was replaced by the appliance store under an extended warranty. The top rack wheels have broken off twice and been replaced. Bottom rack wheels have broken off once and been replaced. Top rack after 6 years is peeling and rusted. Dishes will not clean completely unless you wash them first (kind of defeats the purpose of having a dishwasher) and the prowash cycle takes forever to run. All this time my wife has said, “We paid a lot for it and we will make it work.” FINALLY last week, a rubber spatula fell on the heating element and burned badly... stunk up the whole house. After days of fighting trying to get the burnt smell out unsuccessfully, I got my wife to agree to get rid of it and buy a new dishwasher.... It is NOT a KitchenAid. All that is left now is to get rid of the stove and refrigerator (yeah the stove/oven dont work much better).

While wiping out the interior of the upper oven to my KitchenAid Electric Double Oven Range, after completing a 2.5 hour self-cleaning process and the cool down period, I noticed an area of the blue interior coating (enamel?) began chipping away. The oven is less than one year old and under warranty. A service person inspected the oven, stated this part is not removable for replacement or repair. The service person telephoned in the concern and was informed of a patch/repair paint kit and said it will be shipped to me. However, it was suggested I contact KitchenAid directly if I found this solution to be unsatisfactory. After the departure of the service person, I inspected the chipped area further. Cracking was noticed on both sides of the chipped area that extends out an inch to an inch and a half on each side causing concern that the issue will continue.KitchenAid customer service was contacted and this manufacturing defect was reported. The KitchenAid customer service representative stated that KitchenAid is not able to provide any help or assistance with this issue since these material and workmanship defects are excluded from warranty coverage after 30 days from the date of purchase.

I have also purchased a refrigerator. The ice maker is awful...Its too small and doesnt make ice fast enough. The other product from KitchenAid I purchased is a front load washer and dryer. The washer needs to be cleaned all the time. I was not told that. The dryers lint catcher, for a large capacity dryer, is so small, its ridiculous. None of these things were mentioned to me. I would have never purchased these appliance if I knew! Very upset buyer.

We purchased a KitchenAid side-by-side in April 2004 for our new home. The fridge never was very cool and we ended up calling for service in Jan 2005. The service tech told us to clean the compressor and it should work. The fridge was barely cold, but the service tech told us the fridge was fine. In May of this year (2012), the fridge stopped cooling completely. We lost hundreds of dollars of food. It took a week for the service tech to come out. He told us to defrost the freezer as there was ice inside it. We turned the fridge off for 24 hours as per his instruction. That didnt fix the problem. I called the tech back and he told us it must need new parts. We thought he ordered the parts but 2 weeks later, I followed up with KA customer care and were told that the service tech had closed our file and had noted in the file that we had decided to purchase a new unit. We had decided no such thing. I asked for the parts to be ordered and were told they were on backorder. Another 2 weeks went by with no word from KA or the service tech. Meanwhile, its the heat of summer, I have young children and no refrigerator. I called KitchenAid back and were told that one part was still on backorder and they had no idea when the part would be available. They offered no solution to the fact that our family had no working fridge. I asked them for the name and part number and tracked the part myself and ordered it. It took another week for the service tech to come out. I had to take another vacation day and waited for over 4 hours for him. KitchenAid techs only work 9-5, Monday to Friday. The service tech replaced 2 parts and said the 3rd wasnt needed. That was on July 6th. On Friday, July 23rd, the fridge and freezer completely stopped working and was actually hot. I called the service tech twice with no response. Today, July 30th, I called KitchenAid customer care and asked for the tech to come out tomorrow (July 31st) early in the morning as I cannot afford to take another vacation day. I was told that their techs only work 9-5, they will not make any provisions to accommodate working families and the rude, arrogant customer care supervisor told me that I needed to make the necessary arrangements to be available when the service technician turns up.We have been without a working refrigeration since May 2012. Its now the end of July. Weve wasted hundreds of dollars in spoiled food and KitchenAid has no care or regards for our situation. Furthermore, no one at KitchenAid appears able to resolve our issues. For a company whose slogan is For the way its made, I feel like they are falsely advertising their products because they are poorly made. I will never ever buy a KitchenAid product again and will do my best to inform anyone who asks me of my dreadful experiences with KitchenAid Canada.

Bought the Kitchen Aid French Door Counter Depth (Model KBFS20EVMS9) from Lowes in Feb. 2012, and the 4 year extended warranty. It just started leaking on the floor, had the drain tube replaced. Leaking stopped but freezer is STILL forming ice inside. And I have no water feature or ice cube maker so I dont understand what the deal is. Maybe just a shoddy product? Another service call is scheduled. I get a feeling this isnt the last of it. I may end up hiring two strong guys to haul it down to Benton Harbor Michigan and dump on their front doorstep.

I bought my french door bottom mount refrigerator in 2013. I have started having issues with the freezer and ice maker. The technician who came to check the fridge told me that this is a very common problem with KitchenAid. We have to pay $390.00 for labor and if the parts are not covered in extended warranty pay for that too. Our extended warranty ran out in 2018. We were also told that the dye leaks and it will have to be replaced every 4 or 6 months. I am annoyed at the expense this fridge is going to cost us. I called the appliance pros for KitchenAid and they did not help in any way. They are very rude and nobody knows anything there. They went on telling me, “We dont know how things work in Canada.” Well why then are you selling appliances in Canada. They know how to give customers a runaround and beat about the bush. I would not recommend this fridge to anybody. Please buy a fridge by a company which stands behind its product.

I got this new KitchenAid stove 1500 and was so happy with the way it looks, but... What a horrible product this company made! First, I had to exchange this stove, because of the computer problems it had (exchanged it two times). Unfortunately it was over 30 days so I could not return it. Second, it takes over 30 minutes to preheat the oven! Third, after a month of using it two light bulbs went off!! At the same time!!!Last, but not least their service team checked and stated that the temperature in the oven is right, but to roast or bake it takes twice as long! Not to mention that the glass top is made from some horrible material and it is very difficult to clean! And one area of glass is already chipped off!! I bought it in June 2016 four month ago! Dont buy Kitchenaid products!!!

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator/dishwasher and stove Sept 2010 at Lowes. There was nothing wrong with my appliances. They all worked at the time I was redoing my kitchen and but wanted all new appliances. I chose KitchenAid because I thought they were one of the top of the line products. Wow was I so wrong. I have had problems with my refrigerator, started about a year after having it. I would empty my ice bucket and could not get the door to close properly. Had them out here 3 times never got it resolved. So now I just slam it as hard as I can and it closes nice. Well now it is leaking underneath on my hardwood floors so whats that mean? My hardwood floors is now ruined. I made my first phone call on Wednesday Aug 17 2016 and spoke to a supervisor Ben to tell me to buy the warranty and he will have someone out here on Monday.Well thats not acceptable now he gets someone to come out on Friday 8-12 so my husband waits and no one shows up. I am at work and I am fortunate that I am able to make phone calls. I literally was on the phone for two hours trying to get this resolved to get nowhere except Im sorry. I appreciate the Im sorry but what are you doing about it? Nothing. They blame the service that is supposed to come out and the service blames it on KitchenAid. I tell KitchenAid I will never buy another KitchenAid product again and all they say is, Im sorry you feel this way. Really, dont you want to keep your customers? Bottom line - dont buy KitchenAid. They dont stand behind their products.

Regarding Model: KUDC10FXSS7. Despite our pre-rinsing all dishes well, using the Heavy Duty cycle, and never having any trouble with the other 3 brands of dishwashers we have had, the KitchenAid dishwasher just does not clean the dishes. The unit is less than two years old and has never worked well. Additionally, the cycle time for the dishwasher is at least twice as long as the other brands we have used in the past. My wife and I are very disappointed that we have wasted our money on a product that does not work.

Assurance is extended warranty company? Started sending AAA appliance out, theyve replaced everything inside at least once, some twice. Still doesnt make ice and leaks. Right after the installation of my KitchenAid dishwasher, when I started it, I got flood in the kitchen. The cause was a defective part. It took 2 weeks before the machine was fixed because they had to order the part. I didnt buy any additional insurance thinking that a good dishwasher should last at least 3-5 years. The machine broke again right after the yearly guarantee expired. I had it repaired by a local company for 75$ because the price of the KitchenAid service department was too high (almost triple).

At first, I would notice that every once in a while, it wouldnt get the dishes completely clean, and then it got to be more and more. Everything on this dishwasher has been a nightmare since the first day. Like everything else we have purchased at Lowes, its pure junk. The racks have fallen apart, and the technician literally replaced every working part...and said lady you basically have a brand new dishwasher now. I had to replace every working part. Well its a year later and all of those new working parts are now no longer working. It is as if the thing is not hooked up to electricity. I will NEVER EVER buy another KitchenAid piece of junk no matter what it is. The reason I bought this in the first place was because I have a 30 year old KitchenAid mixer that runs like new. Regarding our 42 side by side built-in fridge. After some years it starting making some serious loud noises. Finally the fridge gave out. Repairman said he thought the motherboard had gone. OK, fair enough... just order another motherboard, right? My repairman could not find a motherboard in Canada or in the USA. It had to be order through Kitchenaid... but no problem, right?? The company is American, right??? Not so fast. The initial timeline was 4 weeks (which is bad enough) but in the end IT WAS 4 MONTHS!!! During this time I called Kitchenaid more than once to find out where my motherboard was. They could not, or would not give me a straight answer as to any timeline to expect it. My thinking was that it was somewhere in China being created. Thank God we had another fridge in the garage but I have learned my lesson. NEVER, NEVER never will I purchase another Whirlpool product ever again!!! You would think when you pay $10,000 for a fridge a better repair experience would follow. Clearly Whirlpool doesnt give a crap. STEER CLEAR, PEOPLE!!!

We purchased KitchenAid fridge, Model # KFIS29PBMS00 from Lowes in May of 2015. We began having problems within 2 weeks of it being installed in our home. We had to have it serviced 7 times to finally get it repaired. It was finally repaired by the end of June. Subsequently, I had to keep throwing away food, taking off of work, etc. Now, 9 months later, it is working infrequently now. It started making a noise, like a lower sound like a leaf blower. Then, it started losing temperature. Main purpose of my writing a review... dont be fooled by KitchenAid supposedly being one of the top the line fridges/freezers at Lowes. At our old home, the fridge was there when we moved in and was still working perfectly when we left 10 1/2 years later. It was a GE.Result: I will never buy another Kitchen Aid or Whirlpool product. Although some of their products may be acceptable, the company has cost my family money through the loss of food and work and inconvenience for 9 months for a fridge that cost almost $2000! They should replace it because apparently it is a sub-standard product.

You can brush up against it and you wont even know until later on when you smell the horrible scent of gas. I was cleaning my stove earlier this morning and came back inside the house and I knew right away that the smell was gas and sure enough the knob was ever so lightly turned to the left and emitting gas fumes. When I re-did my kitchen I went with all Kitchen-Aid Appliances based on reputation. I included the Kitchen-Aid 25.8 CF French Door, 5-drawer refrigerator. I purchased all of this in 10/1/16. I am now on my second repair. About 2 years ago the fridge part stopped working and a technician had to replace a coil. Today my freezer stopped working. It is very disheartening to know how much was spent on the this product just to have it break down every two years. I called Kitchen-Aid directly who stated they can send out a service guy out of warranty. That is also, in my opinion, bad customer service. This is a higher end product that they are not willing to work with me on. I will rely on my home warranty for this repair but be mindful if you are thinking of buying this refrigerator.

In 2010 my wife had her dream kitchen installed, which included all Kitchenaid Stainless Steel appliances. All top of the line. (Sadly, my wife died a year and a half later of cancer) It is now just me, and an occasional child home from college, so these appliances are getting very light use. The freezer on the bottom refrigerator started to fill with ice at the bottom, which destroyed the Cherry floor underneath. This was due to a clogged duck valve, which is a two dollar part. The repairman said that they all do it, and a replacement part that was modified was installed. The damage to the floor is estimated to be over a thousand dollars. The dishwasher has gone through two thermal fuses, and now wont cycle. Im waiting for the repairman as I write this. I will never recommend any Kitchenaid appliance to anyone, and my three kids who are all in the process of going out on their own will not either. My call to Kitchenaid for the refrigerator problem was not only unhelpful, but I ended up at a call center in who knows where. So, avoid this brand. I am so disgusted with the dishwasher that I am ready to have it replaced.

I was cooking at the KitchenAid Architect II Slide In range on November 20, 2012, and had the oven set to turn on automatically. Just after it reached the temperature, I heard a hissing noise followed by a really bad smell. I moved back across the room. Then there were many loud bangs and pops, followed by large flames behind the range and black smoke. I quickly turned off the oven and cook top, and then the last explosion blew out all the lights on the range and the fire went out. We purchased the range 4-1/2 years ago and took the extended warranty through the appliance dealer - Queen City (QC). The model is the KESS908SPS, and we paid $1600. We purchased 5 kitchen appliances at that time. This is the second time we have had a wiring problem with the range. The last time, the stove stopped working, and they said the plug was not installed correctly to the stove. They fixed the plug. This time, QC sent out a repairman who is giving them an estimate of $500 to repair. Again, he says the plug was not installed correctly to the stove. We do not believe it to be repairable and are afraid of the range. I spent the night vomiting and ended up in the ER the next day from dehydration. I called Whirlpool to see what that smell came from to see what I had ingested. They gave me a case file number, but seemed more interested in whether or not we had the tip-over safety feature installed. QC is offering to give us the $500 toward a new range, but no offers to replace it even with the extended warranty. Were through with Whirlpool.

After humorous service calls from different techs they have me a refund and I purchased my 2nd same model rectify believing I had just got a lemon. Well to my surprise it began after about a year later with the same problems! My Kitchen Aid Dishwasher Model KUDS3o1XSS4 Bought for $753.14 is three years old. It was working fine until the wheel to the top rack broke in October. I called the warranty department as I have a warranty bought for $127.37 just to discover that the warranty would not cover this kind of part even though I cant use the machine without it.I ordered the part through Marcon company for about $46 including shipping. I was told the part is in backorder (it is being manufactured). They had no idea when it will be there and I am in line because many customers have ordered that part. It took me hours on the phone with many customer service people - some were careless and some were sympathetic. Finally I got the part after more than a month after talking and begging the supervisor to help. Three weeks after the the other wheel broke today. I placed the order for another $44 dollars. This machine is a piece of junk. I am totally disappointed with Kitchen Aid. I had one before and lasted me nine years without real problems. Based on that experience I bought Kitchen aid again. But not any more. The parts are made of cheap plastic that will break all the time. Not sturdy enough to hold cups and glasses, the service is bad, the warranty does not cover any of the interior parts not the racks or the wheels or knobs or grates or shelves. They call them non functional parts, though without the wheel you cant use the top rack as it will fall.I tried to call the manufacturer to complain but I was waiting on the phone forever and no one answered the phone. I cannot afford losing time on top of losing money.

Currently have a KitchenAid gas stovetop, approximately six years old. Very pleased especially with the center burner which is more powerful. The treated stainless steel is extremely easy to clean. I do like the design and the fact that it is self lighting and will re-light if the flame goes out. KitchenAid double wall oven is much older and has been extremely reliable, it’s used quite often and very much like the convection feature and the construction.

My KitchenAid Superba Ovens thermal fuse has burned up for the 3rd time after the self-clean cycle. Every time I have called KitchenAid, they tell me they are not aware of a problem. Well **, there are more complaints than I have time to read. Even the repairman knows what the problem is before he even looks at it, he has fixed so many! I will be cleaning my expensive oven with Easy Off. Never buy a KitchenAid or Whirlpool product!

We are extremely careful when we use these ovens. Regardless, we have replaced the door hinges six times in the past two years and the blower fan once. If I clean the oven, the doors lock and remain locked when completely cool. This has happened numerous times, also. This is a high end appliance that is junk!
