When the French door opens, it slams open; and in a short period of time, the hinges will come loose. The deli shelf was made so cheaply that the tabs controlling the temp broke off, and I was told it was cosmetic! A repairman came out and said this was the best he can do! This is a poorly made refrigerator, and judging from other peoples comments, my big error was in purchasing it!

Our KitchenAid gas range have the same problem that many other people have experienced. First, the off button stopped working and the panel had to be replaced. Then when I went to clean the oven, it quit during the cycle. The panel is dead and the door will not open. I will not buy a KitchenAid appliance again. Not happy!

As above, with normal use, first one, then a second and a third wheel has come off the top rack rendering the rack unable to be moved. We took it out and are using only the bottom rack. We are waiting for this to be fixed. It is unacceptable that the plastic pieces that hold the wheels in place have broken already, exactly 13 months after purchase. Our previous dishwasher lasted more than 15 years and the only reason we replaced it was because we updated our kitchen.

My Kitchen Aid double oven which is still under warranty was not heating up
My Kitchen Aid double oven which is still under warranty was not heating up properly and when it did heat many, many items came out burned. I checked the temperature with an oven thermometer and the temperature was way off when the beep sounded that the desired temperature had been reached. It took about 20 minutes longer to reach the correct temperature (35-40 minutes in all).It is loud both pre-heating, cooking and cooling. I sent my complaints to Kitchen Aid. A repairman came out and told me the beep really doesnt indicate the temperature had been reached. Must heat another 20 minutes at least and put bread in the oven and see which pieces come out burned to identify the hot spots. Dont want hot spots? Use the convection feature and bake at a lower temperature. It rattles and whirrs and makes a deep throbbing noise. Apparently this is all normal!Called Kitchen Aid, said nothing had changed. Talked with a rep, then her supervisor. She kept with the party line and repeated what the repairman had said but added, If you open the door, heat will escape. I hope she didnt say this with a straight face!! To top it off, this is only 1 authorized repairman in our area. Guess who?? NOT OKAY!!!!!

My 4 yr old Kitchenaid started pinging so we called service and after they came out briefly, were told that it was the electronic board that was defective. However, the board is no longer available so they could not repair it. End of story, absolutely no effort to resolve the issue. There are companies that make this board but they are not approved suppliers. This thing cost quite a bit so Im extremely disappointed that Im left with a defective refrigerator making the noise that drives me crazy.

We built a new home three years ago and installed all KitchenAid appliances. The refrigerator has been a lemon. KitchenAid has not been helpful in dealing with repairs. We have repaired the ice maker four times and finally it was replaced. Most recently the refrigeration system has developed a leak and is not cooling. We were informed that the retail cost of the repair is $3000. If we had not built in the refrigerator and purchased cabinet fronts for the doors we would have replaced this appliance.

It is an average refrigerator with ice bucket in the door. However, the ice in bucket always clumps. Also, it is difficult to keep dust and dirt off the grill underneath the refrigerator due to tight distance between grill and floor space. It is hard to regulate the temperature controls for the vegetable bins. After cleaning the dirt and fuzz from the grill at bottom of the refrigerator there was a noise.

Almost four years ago, we bought KitchenAid appliances. From all of them, stove is not good. Stove looks very beautiful, but after two years, one burner was gone and we had to spent $150 and now the other burner is gone. So according to the price, the quality of the stove is not good at all. Now again I called mechanic and he is asking $150 to repair my stove. Overall I would like to say that my other appliances are good, but stove is not.

I purchased 5 KitchenAid appliances 45 days ago during their big 25% off promotion. That was mistake one. I get a call yesterday 4 days before delivery telling me that my fridge is backordered until April. This is the biggest load of lies since Donald Trump on Twitter. Investigating deeper and talking with my sales agent at home depot it sounds like any counterdepth fridge with external ice water have been pulled and no longer is available for purchase. They have even pulled all these models from the KitchenAid website. Ridiculous. Calling customer service, the company line is that there is no recall and it is available for order. So I ask if its available why is it no longer on the website. Needless to say I need to cancel my entire KitchenAid purchase. Do not make the mistake of buying KitchenAid.

I am completely surprised that after spending $2500.00 on a refrigerator, that functions well and initially looked great, am now, after less than a year into owning this refrigerator, now has rust spots all over the refrigerator doors. These rust spots initially started as pin-head size but now are growing larger and more numerous. After I was able to get hold of customer service who finally routed me to the correct person (after quite a bit of time on hold), I shared with this person what my issues were. He explained to me that this happens and that there was nothing he could do about it. I continually pushed him on this issue explaining that it made no sense for a top/high end brand to have issues like this. He eventually conceded and said that he would ship all three doors and that I should schedule a time with my local KitchenAid service techs. He then said that if this occurred again that he would not be sending a new set of doors and that, this was it, no more. When the service tech showed up he explained that this always happens with this refrigerator and to be prepared for it to happen again. This is ridiculous. I would be fine if this was a one time thing, but to told by not only the local service technician but the KitchenAid customer service rep. as well, that this is something that, just happens is absurd. In addition to this, it took 90 days for the doors to arrive and after they did, it was found that they sent in two left doors! I have now been informed that I will have to wait 60 days for the right door. The local service rep that KitchenAid directed me to, did a poor job of installing the doors that I did receive, they were not aligned, the gasket was stuffed into the door so that there was heat exchange from the outside causing an improper seal so that moisture began to collect along the seams. ALSO, the door that they did send had a torn (or cut) gasket. Again, this is ridiculous that such a high end brand would affiliate with poor field techs, and send damaged product. Im beside myself and at a loss.Id say, if you are thinking of purchasing this product, STEER CLEAR. Due to my experience with KitchenAids customer service and the my experience with this particular product, I will NOT be purchasing any product from KitchenAid, and will do my best to dissuade others from doing the same. Let me add that I am using the manufactures suggested cleaning product. The KitchenAid rep initially tried to suggest that the rust spots were due to me and improper care and cleaning.

Tried several times and the oven looks just as dirty after the cleaning cycles. I Cant even use chemical cleaners because I may damage the finish on the oven walls. KFIS29BBMS - Refrigerator was purchased and installed in a brand new home/kitchen in Nov. 2013. In Feb. 2015 (after 15 months of normal use) the in-door ice maker stopped working. Troubleshooting did not fix the problem and we decided we could live without ice. In Apr. 2015 (after 17 months of normal use), food in the top drawer of the freezer was not fully frozen. This is a bigger problem. When looking online for solution suggestions, its become apparent that these failures are not unique to us; This model is a lemon. As visually appealing as this refrigerator is, do not waste your money. I am waiting (hoping) for the class action lawsuit mailer to arrive...

I have had my KitchenAid dishwasher for 3 years but have only had it working properly for 3 months. I had to replace the top basket parts TWICE, and the control panel is defective. I have 5 kids, work full time and have no time to beg and plead over warranties and complaint records. We have had nothing but problems, and KitchenAid Customer Service will not waive the service fee and parts cost to have it fixed. I have been calling and discussing this issue with them for over a year, and they wont help me resolve the issue. I was always under the impression that this company made durable products and stood by them, and it seems to be a BIG disappointment. It is now nothing but a fixture in our kitchen and hasnt been used since the summer of 2012. KitchenAid is NOT a company of customer service and product integrity. Buy at your own risk. I will not ever buy another product from them and refuse to give them any positive word of mouth. What a shame.

In 2012, I purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator, model KFCS22EVBL. Weve had nothing but problems with this product. First, the freezer leaked water onto my beautiful hardwood floor. The refrigerator was repaired but it ruined my hardwood floor. My research indicates that this is a known design defect. I wrote a complaint letter to a Whirlpool executive, who referred me to their quality assurance expert. What a joke! I was left extremely frustrated and angry. Neither Whirlpool nor its QA representative understand the concept of customer satisfaction. Second, the refrigerator is extremely noisy. We have an open floor plan and sometimes we have to speak over noise from the refrigerator to hear conversations. Lastly, cleaning the coils is a nightmare. The user instructions state There is no need for routine condenser cleaning in normal home operating environments. I dont have pets; however, due to dust buildup, I need to vacuum the coils at least 2-3 times a year. Additionally, dust tends to collect behind the front coil and there is no way for the average consumer to reach the area behind the coils. Yet, Whirlpools instruction states Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush to clean the grille, the open areas behind the grille and the front surface area on the condenser. Gee, I wish I can figure out how to get behind the front coil. (The attached image shows unreachable dust behind the coil). I suspect the refrigerator was purposely designed this way to shorten the lifetime of the refrigerator. Whirlpool has underestimated this consumer. I will no longer purchase another Whirlpool product, especially since Im also having problems with my KitchenAid double oven. Im now looking for another refrigerator.

In April, I unfortunately spent $9,000.00 on KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. Since then, I have had problems with the refrigerator. 3 service calls! Now it is Christmas Eve and the refrigerator is not cooling. I am having 22 people to dinner on Christmas. The repair man came and told me that it needs a new compressor. To make matters worse... it needs to be ordered. A 6 month old refrigerator should not need a new compressor! Obviously, it is a lemon. Called Customer Service. Apparently, KitchenAid has no customer service. I requested a new refrigerator because I do not want to keep fixing a defective product. What happens when the warranty runs out? Spoke to a CSR and her supervisor. Just kept reciting the script. Under my warranty... the compressor is a replaceable part so I can not get a new refrigerator. I know that the CEO Jeff Fettic wouldnt want the repaired defective refrigerator either! So then I asked KitchenAid to find a compressor and install it so I can host the XMAS dinner. I was told that is not possible. Best they could do was overnight it and since tomorrow is Christmas, the part would not be shipped until Thursday. KitchenAid is not only ruining my Christmas dinner but it sounds like I wont have a working refrigerator for a while. Not even sure if they really are having the part overnighted. Bottom line.... KitchenAid does not care about a customer once you buy their products. No effort on their part, no matter what the circumstances! I am up the creek regarding my Christmas Dinner and they dont give a damn. Additionally, KitchenAid doesnt want to replace the refrigerator because they will get more money for all the parts the defective unit will need in the future. Or maybe I will buy an extended warranty! Do not buy KitchenAid. It is now December 27th and I still do not have a working refrigerator!

Upper rack was over designed with too many moving features causing inherent weaknesses in plastic components. One year after use started the first plastic tabs started breaking. Without buying a whole new rack there was only one option. Had to figure out stainless steel bolts and nuts to replace broken tabs. Tedious but do-able. I believe most people (probably 95%) do not adjust the racks anyway because they are complicated to adjust. Why build things that break? Just keep it simple! Otherwise this dishwasher works great. It is very quiet and washes well. Clean look. If they would make the upper rack as simple as the bottom rack it would be bullet proof. But no, the Kitchenaid engineers and marketing people had to complicate it by putting in breakable features most people do not use. Thanks for messing up an otherwise great product. Now figuring out my fourth set of bolts to keep the upper rack in place and gliding like it should.

Wow, did you get the exact same guy I got? Maybe from the Orlando area? Because I got the same lame crap, and I am a former KitchenAid rep. Back when they were built by Hobart till the last year they were purchased by Whirlpool. I warned them that I might just know a little bit about dishwashers, and the guy comes in with a thermometer in his hand. I played dumb, and let him not worry about the 160 degree water going in, which then meant that my water must be too hard, using the wrong soap, and my dog is too big. I let him leave, and then after a thorough internal exam, found the wash arm hub split, causing the arms to hit the manifold in the back (super scrubber thing). All in all a pretty crappy machine. They sent me a wash arm and support, which I replaced. Solved the redeposit problem, but not the horrible soap film. That turns out to be a short fill cycle in the main wash. Sorry sir, but you are three months out of warranty. Even though they knew this unit was causing washability problems from the get-go. Wow. Way different from the company I worked for for 8 years.

I have had KitchenAid dishwasher for a few years. I have not been, and am not happy with this product. We have had trouble with it almost constantly. The control panel has been replaced more than once, we have had to replace several parts on it, and the general service I have had from it is not satisfactory. Now the heating element is not working. We paid a lot for this appliance thinking we would get excellent service because of the KitchenAid reputation. This unit has been pulled out and apart and repaired more than I think is acceptable. When this unit gets replaced, I am thinking I will be going to another brand. It is aggravating to open this unit and find it has not drained, the dishes are not dry, or some other problem has become obvious. Perhaps a lot of people like this dishwasher, but I for one do not.

My counter depth KitchenAid refrigerator cant be repaired just 2 years after I bought it new. The power supply board I need is no longer available and Whirlpool couldnt care less. They claim there is a 12-year warranty but the electronic part I need is only warranted for 1 year. Therefore why bother having a 12-year warranty if the part you need cant be purchased. Therefore the effective warranty is only ONE YEAR. This is a $7,000 paperweight now. No one should purchase anything made by this company.

We bought our house in 2004 and immediately started anew with appliances, granite etc., in our kitchen. I chose KitchenAid because I owned it years ago and had great success. We bought the most expensive dishwasher, microwave, slide-in stove and trash compactor available, thinking it would last. As you know, this stuff isnt inexpensive. We purchased the convection slide-in stove (KESC308LSS0), which died on Thanksgiving Day amid turkey cooking. A halogen microwave, which died six months ago and had to be replaced with a convection microwave that sounded like a bucket of bolts until repair, arrived under warranty one month later. The dishwasher has plastic tabs in it on the slider for the rack that break and fall into the motor. We repaired this ourselves twice with new motors and rack sliders, which now have been redesigned without the plastic tabs. We needed a part for the stove but it is discontinued, so we will have to live without it. Thankfully it is just cosmetic. We await a new control board for the oven as we speak and if we are lucky, it will work; if not, we will have to pay someone to fix it. My point is 8-year shelf life? Discontinued parts? I will never buy KitchenAid again. If we had had to pay someone to fix all this stuff, it would have been very expensive. I am really disappointed.

I used to use environmentally friendly dishwasher soap but had to go to a heavy strength brand now. We bought a stainless steel, built-in KitchenAid dishwasher about two years ago when we were renovating our kitchen. It has been a huge disappointment ever since. It doesnt actually clean the dishes, no matter what setting we have it on. It leaves bits of food and random stuff on everything. It smells like rotten eggs when it runs. Plus, it runs for hours and hours - why? It does not effectively dry the dishes. We have had it serviced at least three times with no real improvement. Really, at this point, it is just a glorified dishrack and we end up washing almost everything by hand. Cost over $500 and is worse than the $200 dishwasher we had before. Dont buy, unless you just secretly want a fancy, stylish dishrack.

Built a new home and moved in last year. Just pay the year mark our new KitchenAid refrigerator went out. We are now on week 5 and nobody knows when the parts will be in. We have been without a refrigerator for 5 weeks, KitchenAid and their diamond factory service could care less about how long we wait. Go with anyone else’s fridge, stay away unless you don’t need a refrigerator then go with KitchenAid. You won’t be disappointed.

Bought a new side by side with ice maker from Sears in Feb 2012. By July noticed my floor was swollen and wet. Called the tech out. It had a crack in the water valve so it had a slow leak for months. The tech said he never sees these crack. Told me to call Whirlpool. Did, they told me to call Sedgewick which handles the insurance claims. Then Sedgewick told me they couldnt do anything because I didnt have the broke part. How is the average consumer suppose to know to keep it? The tech took it with him. How nice for them. Sedgewick told me to call Whirlpool back. Did, no answer. Had to leave message. Did that twice. Then I went to Sears, said they would look into it. Havent heard a peep. Needless to say have to turn it into my insurance for the 6000.00 damage to the floor you can see, doesnt include the sub floor that might be damaged or the mold that might be under there. This has been a ongoing thing for over a year. Never again will I buy anything Whirlpool or Sears. Customer service is awful. Now 2 of the knobs on the stove I bought at the same time will not turn. No quality built into these products!!

Purchased NEW Kitchen Aid Model JUDS301XBl1 Serial number F11526666 and had Lowes install unit, wanted to buy the best from what we thought, never worked right, we are still hand washing our dishes and although Kitchen Aid did supply parts to service depot and try to repair it was never repaired and is sitting unusable, I went to Lowes and to discuss, they dont care and Kitchen Aid does not care. I also made a bad review not nasty about Lowes and kitchen Aid not standing behind product (my old unit was working when I took it out, My wife wanted the best) and when I posted on Lowes web-site they removed due that it was negative...... So what good are reviews if you cannot speak the truth?

We purchased a KUDE40 dishwasher in January of 2011 complete with stainless steel interior. The top rack glides keep popping open, letting the rack fall off. To make matters worse, the plastic wheels fell off the top adjustable rack due to the breaking of the plastic pieces that hold the wheels in place. Of course, this happened right after the year warranty was up. Luckily, I saved the service call and ordered the part online for $25 each and replaced the parts myself. Based on what I have read on other places on the internet, this is a problem for everyone and KitchenAid will do nothing about it. I will not buy another KitchenAid dishwasher and plan to tell as many people as I can not to buy one either.KitchenAid needs to listen to the public and fix this issue free of charge. If it happens to you, order the part online and carefully disassemble about 4 parts to replace the plastic piece with the wheels. A small screw driver to pop off the plastic parts was all that was needed and we used the other side as a guide to what goes where were putting it back together. Total time: about 15 minutes to replace one side. The part is the same for the right and left sides. Save yourself the service call!

I’ve had the cooktop, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave for three years. THREE YEARS!!! The refrigerator stopped cooling. The next day the freezer stopped freezing. We waited five weeks for the one and only repair company in our area, Guinco, to come out. Was told that a part, which was no longer under warranty $507, had malfunctioned. Waited another four weeks for the part to come in. When the part arrived they put it on and then discovered the condenser, which thankfully is under warranty, $1,000+, was no good. So now we’re having to wait another six weeks for the new condenser. Practically four months. That is totally absurd. Why they feel only one company in my state is authorized to work on these substandard appliances, I don’t know. Luckily we have an older refrigerator in the garage. My husband went out and bought a portable ice maker, also. I read on the website that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool products can last between 15-17 years. If that’s the case for the “few” products that do not last longer than three years, it should be an automatic replacement. That would be excellent customer service. Do not buy this product. Run, do not pass. Go as far away from this cheap as heck product. The product “looks” fabulous but it’s all a delusion. Again, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS CRAP PRODUCT.

However, this is the end of February and once again everything is freezing in the fridge compartment. I raised the temp to 40 degrees and it is still too cold to touch the food. We bought our home in May 2011 with a one-year old KitchenAid oven. Last week, I used the self cleaning cycle for the first time. The oven door locked and the digital display was dead. So, I called KitchenAids troubleshooting number--no help and no acknowledgement that this is a known issue! I had to wait five business days, pay $55 and stay home for four hours today waiting for the repair guy via our insurance to come. He replaced the dead thermostat and told me its a known issue and not to use the self cleaning. Now, after reading this list, I see that more problems may still follow! The interior bottom of the stove is now completely damaged from previous owners. It was covered with an oven tray so we did not see it but I now suspect that this was also due to a fault in the stove/heating. We have two KitchenAid ovens!

The oven glass shattered on its own one day when I was sitting in the kitchen having my coffee; the gas leaks every time I turn on the top oven; the knobs constantly break and have to be replaced every two years. Sometimes I really think this range is possessed! Possessed or not, this range is a hazard that I need to get rid of very quickly. If you are considering purchasing one of these ranges, think again. Fridge purchased May 2015. Lid for cheese drawer kept falling off whenever opened and puddle kept forming on floor below bottom freezer. New cheese drawer lid ordered, still didnt fit properly so technician had to shim the sides and now there is a gap on either side where debris could collect and cant be cleaned out. Door on bottom freezer deemed to be warped causing it not to seal properly, thus huge frost accumulation on inside of freezer and bouts of thawing causes puddles on floor in front. Waited 2 months for a new freezer door, arrived and when technician went to install found it also was warped. Now have to wait another 2 months for a second try. Whole unit is substandard. I asked for a replacement fridge. Of course, they refuse but they are happy to keep making repairs. I am not happy to have to make myself available for repeated visits by technician for a problem that remains unfixed.

I called Kitchen Aid and pleaded with them to send me a new one. My concern is, if the compressor is bad, what else is wrong with the refrigerator? They refused to send me a new one. We decided to purchase a Kitchen Aid dishwasher (KUDC10FXSS) to replace our Whirlpool dishwasher in the spring of this year. We have had nothing but problems with it. I noticed that it was running through rinse aid very quickly and then completely shut down. We were told that it needed a new control board, which was then replaced. It took three weeks to get this part in because it was on back order. Less than a week later, the rinse aid began pouring out from the dispenser, so once again a repairman came out and told us that we must have a bad dispenser so that was replaced next. Even with the new dispenser, I am now having to add rinse aid every two weeks and have a terrible film on my glasses and dishes. I called the business where we bought it and they sent out the same repair guy, who told me that he doesnt know why its going through rinse aid so quickly and that he would research it for me. Well, its been three weeks and no word from him or the business which he works for. We asked to replace this dishwasher because we think its a lemon and we were told that unless we have three separate incidents with it, Kitchen Aid will not replace it. We are very frustrated and will not buy any Kitchen Aid products in the future!

Purchased Kitchen Aid dishwasher model KDTM404KPS from Home Depot in Nov2020. The 1st dishwasher had a problem day 1. It was extremely loud. Like a jet plane crashing. Metal grinding weird burning smell. I called Home Depot & told them it wasn’t working. I refused repair & demanded a replacement. I then had to spend 10hrs dealing with Home Depot & Whirlpool customer service before they would agree to replace the unit. The 2nd unit had to be returned because it arrived with massive damage to the door. Huge dent. The 3rd unit was finally installed in Dec2020. However, it still makes a lot of noise. Nowhere near their 44dba rating they claim. It’s the loudest dishwasher I have ever owned. Also, the dishes come out with a white haze. They come out dirtier than when you put them in. I’m going to call customer service again. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned.

Its a beautiful piece of junk! I bought Stainless steel model #KGRA806PSS on January 2006. The first service call was on January 2007; second on January 2008; third on April 2008. Of course, my fourth service call is now past the 5 year warranty. The igniter would click forever and then go out. Three times Ive had the electronic replaced. Oven would preheat, come to temperature then would lose heat and never reheat past 275. I didnt dare use the self-cleaning feature after reading the horror stories of glass shattering or doors locking or burning the electric board out. Anyways, we called KitchenAid and after being told that they never have had complaints about this range, we told them that they should try looking at the complaints registered online. Well, since this would be the fourth service call about the same problem, they would send a service technician out and if its the same problem, they would pro rate a new stove. The service technician just called and said that hes on the way out and did you know that there is a $135 service charge? No, I will not pay the service call, after all Kitchenaid called and set up the call and Im not paying another dime on this $1500 money pit!Buyer beware. KitchenAid is no longer a customer friendly company and they do not stand behind their product. If they resolve this, I will report back but as my husband is on the phone and it doesnt sound promising, you probably will not be hearing anything more on this piece of junk!

Purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher July, 2011 from ABT model# KUDS30IXBL (manufactured 2010). Beginning January, 2015 it would occasionally drain and shut down, mid wash cycle. I thought I had done something wrong. But it continued and finally did it every time it was used. The dishwasher is only used twice a week. On 4/18/2015 ABT serviced replacing the Electronic Control Panel (under warranty). Service call labor cost $164.00. On 4/8/16 while the dishwasher was in use, loud sounds like fireworks (identified as electrical arcing) came from the dishwasher and clouds of black smoke came from the top of the door, with strong burning plastic choking fumes. We turned the circuit breaker off, to prevent any further risk of damage to the kitchen or house.Called ABT for service and found out since the Electrical Control Panel had already been replaced once there would be a charge of $186.09 for a replacement of the Panel plus $164.00 for the service call/labor cost, plus charges for any other parts needed. We then called a local service company, that we know and trust. Their service call charge is $60.00 and they took the front door off and there was the burnt control panel and the wire harness. The service tech was astonished at the damage. His quote of $450.00 which included replacement of the wire harness and electronic control panel (which we were told the only electronic control panels available were refurbished).Im writing this so others can be aware of the fire hazard this dishwasher is. Very scary! If you have this model you may be better off getting rid of it. Fortunately, we never run our appliance while we are out of the house or while we are sleeping, but there may oQ2thers that do. I never had an appliance do this before and I have had a 4 houses over 47 years.

The fridge started leaking at the top. I paid $115 from a repairman to be told this is a known defect for this fridge (air leak at the top). So KitchenAid should offer free repair for anyone who this affects. They are now made differently, so why should I be stuck with a lemon? I am so mad right now, repairing it is out of the question as I was quote $650. Also if this is a known defect, why didnt KitchenAid alert us? I could have saved $115 by not having a repairman out to our house. The solution for this is to turn the water off to our fridge and not having a water or ice maker, which is half the reason we bought the fridge. Stay away from this entire brand. We are also dealing with a Kitchenaid microwave that the whole door has fallen apart, literally, cracking and chipping away and I spent $225 for a new door that should arrive any day.

I loved the way this fridge keeps produce fresh. However, several months after the warranty expired the ice maker quit working. Service man (recommended by appliance store) replaced it but did not fix the problem. They then replaced the compressor, evaporator, and valves. Quit working again. Now they say that it is a sensor (or a board) and needs to be ordered but will take 1-2 weeks. Ive lost two full freezers loads full of frozen food because the freezer temperature wont go below 30 degrees. Repair man stated that this model has 6 boards that can go wrong and often do. Today, ice maker is not producing ice again! Have another call into serviceman. This is the most expensive ($3,700) and the most problematic refrigerator that Ive ever owned. The fill valve did not shut off and the Kitchen Aid dishwasher (KUDS30IXBL) overflowed and flooded. I believe the problem is a design error. Probably a weak return spring that causes the valve to chatter when it tries to close. I could hear the water hammer in the pipes. The unit was locked in that hammer mode even when I pulled the power plug. I had to turn off the water supply to stop the cycle.I called for repair and tech came right out and replaced the fill valve. The unit worked well for about a week but problem returned yesterday. I turned down the supply line flow to see if that worked. I restricted the flow too much and unit did not fill properly. I turned the flow back up some and am monitoring. This is quick, easy, and short. I purchased a new KitchenAid side by side
This is quick, easy, and short. I purchased a new KitchenAid side by side in March of 2011. One month later, it stopped cooling. As a service tech, I had already tested and found that the start relay and overload were bad because the compressor was about to take a dump. I called for service which took about a week to arrange. When the service tech arrived, he replaced the relay and overload without testing the compressor. I asked him if that was common practice which I knew wasnt. He replied that it was a common problem and it wasnt necessary to test the compressor and everything should be fine. Little did he know about my abilities. Knowing KitchenAids reputation, I was fully prepared on how to deal with the situation and didnt want or need to have to go through what so many others had to do. Also knowing that the compressor only had a limited life of maybe a week before it quit completely, I first purchased a used old refrigerator for $50.00 to get me by just in case. In about 8 days, the problem with the original fridge returned now even worse. Then, I went to the same store I bought the original KitchenAid. I purchased the same unit on my credit card for over $2,600. Foreseeing what was impending doom for the original fridge, I moved it out of site and had the new one delivered. The next day, I canceled the credit card transaction for the new fridge and called the store to advise them to come and get the fridge. What they didnt know is I exchanged the old fridge with the new one and even switched the ID tags that have the serial number. The next day, the store came to get the fridge not knowing they got the old one broken back in exchange. Ironically, no one had a clue nor did they even check. So, I ended up with a working new refrigerator. And I didnt have to deal with poor service not only from the store, KitchenAid reps, or a service provider that doesnt have a clue on how to repair these products. In the end, I not only now have a good working and new refrigerator, but the old one I bought as a stand by for $50 was cleaned up and completely checked out, then sold for $150.00.

We purchased our KitchenAid about 8 months ago after owning our Sears side by side for over 20 years. Immediately upon starting the ice maker we noticed that when the ice bin got full, it would not stop trying to fill the cube maker...because it was leaking into the fridge on the left side of the refrigerator. This model is the French Door on bottom, ice, water and measured fill on door. The repairman came and said I needed a gasket which he glued on to the door around the ice bin. This was in the winter and I really did not need the ice maker on so I shut it off. Here it is summer and I have turned it back on.....and it is leaking. I once again have to empty the ice bin twice a day so that it will not leak. PC Richard will continue to repair as long as my warranty is in effect.. What concerns me is that theyre putting band aids on faulty design and I have a problem with that. Anyone out there have any ideas??????? ?

I have had my KitchenAid appliance for less than 3 mos when I started to have problems with the french door model making funny loud noises when making ice. It took 3 service calls before they could resolve the problem. Now after a year, it is doing it again. During a Thanksgiving meal, it refused to heat up to the desired temperature needed. Again, another call to service man, time off from work to wait. The problem was covered under warranty. It took the service department two times to get the problem fixed. This should not be happening to a new appliance, unless it is terrible workmanship from the factory. KDRU783VSS-48 in dual fuel range - My 2 1/2 year old dual fuel convection range with steam assist (48 in) caught fire and was non-repairable. I was baking in the smaller oven when I heard a pop. Black smoke started pouring from the front of both ovens. Upon opening the smaller oven door, I saw flames up around the broil elements (I was NOT broiling at the time). My husband commented that it smelled like an electrical fire. We proceeded to cut off the power to the range. Smoke still poured out. We then heard the sound of gas burning off inside the oven (I was NOT using our gas stove top at the time). The stainless steel outside top and sides of the oven were burning hot to the touch. The control knobs were so hot they had become gummy/tacky to the touch. With no end in sight to the black smoke pouring out and the extreme heat OUTSIDE of the oven, we called the fire department. They cut the gas off to the house. The firemans hand-held temperature reading gun (Bullard Thermal Camera) measured over 250 degrees atop the range and along the back wall behind the range. Firemen said had we not been home, the back wall would have caught fire and this would have become a rescue call.KitchenAid sent a repair person to look at the oven. Deemed not safe enough to repair, the spark ignitor box inside was melted, wires crystallized, touch screen displays melted, wall plug charred and melted. After many lengthy calls and emailed pictures, we were given 2 options: get a replacement unit only by paying a participation fee of $2500 or get a prorated refunded due to age of unit (2 1/2 years old). We opted for the partial refund, as this unit is a FIRE HAZARD. To get a different brand, we still were out several thousand dollars, since we were not offered a full refund on a faultily designed range. Funny, because 8 WEEKS later when I finally had a different brand installed, the installer noticed my old unit had steam assist. He said he had replaced 3-4 other KitchenAid models that had burned up - all with steam assist. No one at KitchenAid could tell me anything. There has been no recall. BEWARE: This unit is poorly designed and is a fire hazard!

Bought Kitchen Aid mod-kuds35fxssi dishwasher. The control board failed 10 months after bought along with the top rack wheels and the jet spot dispenser leaked. Good thing I bought it from a local appliance store. They are authorized repair for what they sell, very good to deal with. Fixed the 3 issues .100 days later the control board failed again its only covered 90days after a repair so we called Kitchen Aid. They wouldnt do anything so we bought service plan. Meantime the top rack wheels broke. 90 days after bought service plan, we got control board repaired. The rack not covered we paid for rack repair. Now about 16 months after buying the dishwasher 4th set of rack wheels broke. We called Kitchen Aid, argued for some help. A free replacement part only was offered, we accepted. I installed it. Now the bottom wheel on right of the bottom rack falls off. Not what you expect from a Kitchen Aid dishwasher.

Control lights failure when buttons are pushed - This has happened repeatedly, and is expensive to have out-of-warranty repairs made. Also KitchenAid/Whirlpool uses third party service technicians, which in my case proved to be incompetent and actually broke other parts of my dishwasher. Kitchen Aid refuses to stand by their recommended third party service organization (whom they have since fired) and allows them to sell the customer (me) an extended warranty which both the since-fired service organization (A&E Factory Service) and KitchenAid refuse to honor.

We purchased all KitchenAid appliances for our new house two and a half years ago. I thought by spending twice as much on American made products I would be all set for quite some time. The stove started by making HORRIBLE noise. When I would call kitchen aid they said it was normal. My husband was able to fix it. The fan was hitting on something. Then the refrigerator stopped cooling and making ice. We had a service call and were told it was totally iced up. We had to defrost the refrigerator for 4 days, and keep putting towels to sop up the water coming out of the bottom. Now 3 months later the same thing has happened, no ice and not cooling. Also the dishwasher stopped closing, the rack had pieces that had broken. We spent about $75 in parts. Never had these problems with Samsung. I cant believe after spending over $6,000 on 3 appliances that they lasted 2 years. DONT BUY KITCHENAID.

We decided to invest in a good dishwasher that we could rely on. We spent over $1300 on model #KUDE48FXBL2. It never really worked quite right. There would be periods when the keypad would not work. After roughly one year of use, it has died. The repair service quickly determined that it needed a new keypad and some sort of electrical part in the door. KitchenAid does not have the parts and does not know when they will be available. I am hand washing all of my dishes while a $1300 dishwasher sits in my kitchen with an out of order sign on it. There is no end in sight and we get no answers. We are trying to decide if we throw it out (and the $1300 we spent) or wait to see when it can be repaired (and how much it will cost). We spent a lot of money on a dishwasher that only gave us about one year of use. We will not buy an appliance from KitchenAid or any of their affiliated companies again.

Since our purchase of the KitchenAid, model KSSC42QVS04, 42-inch built-in refrigerator, the ice bucket and dispenser freezes up and/or leaks. We called KitchenAid AND the retailers service departments. They came out and played with it for a while. The service tech basically said it was a design flaw and nothing could be done! KitchenAid and the retailer, Pacific Sales, owned by Best Buy, refused to do anything!! Weve purchased a $9000 lemon. Please never buy KitchenAid or shop at Pacific Sales... Youll be sorry!!! I will be filing a lawsuit against KitchenAid and Pacific Sales.

I purchased a full set of Kitchenaid appliances 2 years ago. My purchase included a refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and microwave. Close to $10,000 worth of appliances. My experience with the refrigerator and Kitchenaids support had been a nightmare. (For clarification, Im middle aged, this is the 5th home I have owned and remodeled in my lifetime, and I consider myself reasonably intelligent with reasonable expectations.) I have had issues with the refrigerator within the first month of installation. - The water dispenser was and is incredibly loud. You can hear it on the other side of house. The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a fault in the design and nothing could be done - The ice maker would randomly defrost and leak all over the floor: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a fault in the design and nothing could be done. If the left door was left slightly ajar, the alarm would not go off: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was the design, and that one particular door is impacted and there was nothing wrong with the unit. - The lights on the inside of the unit would randomly not work, but then work 1 hour to 2 days later: The authorized Kitchenaid repair person told me that it was a head-scratcher, But because it was functioning when he looked at it, nothing to be done.I decided to purchase an extended warranty because I was already nervous about the longevity of the unit. During that extended warranty time, the previously mentioned items continued. Three weeks after the warranty expired, the unit basically died. It would randomly defrost the entire freezer and only come back on by flipping the breaker several times. The interior lights would not work about 30% of the time and the water dispenser would randomly stop working. When the freezer would start to thaw, so would the ice in the icemaker... and leak all over the floor. I had a different repair person come out. I was not going to have the same useless waste of time company come out if it was going to be out of my pocket. They replaced the entire motor. It worked for two days, and started the process again. They then replaced one of the primary computer boards. $1100 later, it worked for 3 weeks and then started thawing, defrosting, lights off, etc again. The thing is either possessed or a total lemon.

My husband and I purchased a custom home in November of 2010. We wanted high end appliances in our new kitchen and have about $25K in KitchenAid products in our kitchen. The largest expense was our built-in refrigerator (model number KSSC42KVS). We paid $8,000.00 for this supposed high end refrigerator. 2 and a half years later, it sits completely dead in my kitchen. The past 3 months have been a nightmare. First, the ice maker assembly had to be replaced at a cost of about $400.00. The cheap plastic arm that closes the ice chute stopped working and allowed warm air to move into the freezer, then the compressor kicked in overtime trying to cool the compartment. 3 days after the ice maker was replaced, the refrigerator side stopped holding its temperature. The compressor would kick on, the freezer would drop to -10 and the fridge temp would go up to 56-60 degrees. The repairman was out again. This time he replaced the damper door assembly which allows the air to move from the freezer side into the the fridge side. Cost me $700.00. Again, everything was OK for about the 3 days and then the same problem happened again. The repairman was out again and this time replaced the thermistors. Again 3-4 days works properly, then compressor kicks on, freezer down to -10 and fridge up to 56. All this time my technician is conferring with Whirlpool technical support and following their recommendations. Now Whirlpool says the main circuit board is bad. It cannot be repaired because all of the inventory was wiped out by the tsunami in 2010. I will have to wait 2-3 weeks while my board is shipped out to a 3rd party vendor to be rebuilt. Now I am out another $600 as we had to buy a cheap fridge to put in our garage because my $8,000.00 is unusable. The board comes in, the repairman puts it in and within an hour after him leaving, the whole fridge just shuts off. The rebuilt board is bad. The repairman is back with a new board.. The fridge works fine for 3 days and then on June 27th, the same problem is back. I let it run for a couple of days and by the 29th, now the freezer isnt holding temp either. Both fridge and freezer are at 60 degrees. I called the repairman again and he tells me that Whirlpool is saying that they are out of ideas. My 2-year-old, $8,000.00 refrigerator has some electrical problem and it cannot be repaired. I will have to buy a new one. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? If I would have known what terrible quality KitchenAid is, I would have spent another $1,000.00 back in 2010 and bought a Sub Zero. Please do not be fooled into thinking that KitchenAid is high end and high quality!

Everything on this dishwasher has been a nightmare since the first day. Like everything else we have purchased at Lowes, its pure junk. The racks have fallen apart, and the technician literally replaced every working part...and said lady you basically have a brand new dishwasher now. I had to replace every working part. Well its a year later and all of those new working parts are now no longer working. It is as if the thing is not hooked up to electricity. I will NEVER EVER buy another KitchenAid piece of junk no matter what it is. The reason I bought this in the first place was because I have a 30 year old KitchenAid mixer that runs like new. Regardless of this... I am done with KitchenAid. If only we could rate these fewer than one star!

In the last four weeks, it had broken 4 times. The refrigerator does not keep food cool and the freezer does not work. I have replaced my food all four times. The warranty will not cover the food. Freezer is ridiculously small and v-shaped. Fridge parts started deteriorating a few years after purchase—after warranty had run. Deli drawer lid broke, door stripping ripped and continues to do so, mold grows in the stripping in the refrigerator, the doors don’t close well/easily, especially left door, water drips from doors, the water filter is difficult to change. I do not recommend this refrigerator at all. Looking forward to it breaking down completely so I can buy a new one!

The 3 year old refrigerator leaked water on the floor constantly. The ice maker worked sporadically and now the unit has stopped cooling. Called repairman who replaced a fan motor. Unit cooled for about a week then stopped cooling again. Called the repairman again who came and replaced the same part claiming the part was defective. Again, the unit stopped cooling after 3 days. Called Sears Appliance Repair who diagnosed the control board as having to be replaced. We ordered the control board which took a week to arrive. The Sears repairman then said he could not service the unit because Sears did not want to be responsible for future repairs that may be required. Apparently problems with this unit is well known. We are still without a working refrigerator. Going on 3 weeks now. I am giving up trying to fix it and purchasing a new unit.

We have been in our brand new house for six weeks now with our upgraded KitchenAid appliances and have used the dishwasher less than 10 times. Last week lights started blinking, called KitchenAid and they had me press some buttons, unplug for a while and then referred me to a local authorized service center. Repair person came out, did exactly what I did, wrote some notes and told me he would have to have KitchenAid authorize the order of a control board. Really????? I waited a week for the technician to do exactly the same thing KitchenAid had me do? Now it will be another week before the part comes in? Hugely disappointed in this product. I had my previous dishwasher (GE Profile) in my other house -- also brand new -- for 14 years with NO problems whatsoever. Very disillusioned with KitchenAid right now.

We bought the Kitchenaid combination microwave/convection oven in 2017. Our problem with the unit is a faulty door latch, that apparently is a manufacturing flaw which Kitchenaid is not addressing. Sometimes as we attempt to use the microwave, we get a message that says open/close door. This is an indication that the latch portion that is in the unit (not the door) recedes back into the unit. We have had a repair man come twice to fix the problem, with a standard $89 fee that Kitchenaid does not recognize as covered under warranty. The second time he came, he told us he gets many calls for this problem, and showed us how to fix it ourselves to avoid the service call. It is a 30 minute nuisance to get into the panel for a temporary fix. We are disappointed that Kitchenaid would sell a product that is destined to malfunction repeatedly. We are hopeful they will stand behind their good reputation and fix this manufacturers error.

We have a kitchen aid refrigerator, and from the first year on have been having issues with the ice maker. It has been one thing after another, and each plumber/appliance repair person that has tackled the issues have said its the worst design they have encountered in appliances. It came to a head last week when water came pouring into the reservoir, and running all over the kitchen tile. Thankfully we were home, and able to turn off the water source, otherwise it would have been a disaster! We are done with it, would give zero stars if that was an option.

Two years ago, I purchased a 24 KitchenAid electric wall oven (Superba) which never worked properly from the beginning. I thought I didnt read the recipe correctly! What a piece of junk! When did KitchenAid allow their products to become inferior to the point of totally frustrating the consumer. KitchenAid used to be a quality product. Ive only had this for 3 years - in the first year the plastic clips broke on the back of the thing and I had to contact a supervisor to get them in time for the holiday. Basically the top rack is worthless - totally and completely worthless. All the plastic pieces snap off and break - clips, rollers, etc. When you try to adjust them to get the rack to go back in so you can close the door the plastic things break. I ordered extra plastic clips when I got them the first time and those have broken. By the second year the bottom rack was falling apart and would not roll back in. The wheels are broken. Furthermore, the electronics is crap. I will use a setting and come back 3 or 4 hours later and it is still running - or trying to run. Half the time the dishes dont even get clean. Im so angry. Im a single parent and spent my tax refund check getting this and it works worse than the 10 year old thing that I had before this junk. At least the 10 year old dishwasher didnt have plastic pieces breaking. Stop making this crap in China and make it in the U.S. with quality parts and quit making it cheaply so that you can blame the Chinese for your own design flaws. Quit paying your CEO a fortune and making crap. Concentrate on making something that lasts. Since KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool I assume the same will be true of Whirlpools quality.

I purchased this dishwasher in October 2011 which was a Kitchen Aid model KUDC10IXWH4. This was installed in a basement kitchen which is only used at New Years and Easter and is run for a total of 10 loads per year. The control panel failed within the first five loads and we needed factory service. When the service tech arrived I was informed that we had to pay the labor and service call. This failure was in early 2102 after the unit was run for the New Year holiday. We were told by the tech that we should consider the extended warranty because these units constantly fail. The unit starts by itself. The thermal fuse fails about every 6th load at a replacement cost of $138 per trip. Kitchen Aid is absolutely useless in this process and deny any responsibility in this matter. As this unit has just been run enough to empty the sample bottle of Jet Dry and had for service calls I would tell anyone never to buy another Kitchen Aid appliance as we will not ever again. Their customer service is horrible!

They said they only accept claims of such when reported in 24-48 hours. I had moved to a brand new house; upon appliance delivery we went back to Markham and finally after all furniture was here, with small kids, we planned to stay, so I saw the crack then. After 3-4 days, I called cracks on the wall. They said no worries, that its cosmetic, and no heat or air is going out. Wow! A big expensive brand says that - its sad. We have had this range for 6 years. If you check the service calls, 3 have been for the oven not reaching maximum temperature. Each service call is close to or more than $200.00. The temperature works for a while and then returns to 259 degrees. Never been fixed properly. Now we have an error F2E1, service call $125.00. The repairman said we have an error F2E1 and we would have to order a new keyboard. Really $125.00 to tell us what we already knew. Now, to make matters worse he said this part, estimated cost $500.00, may not correct the problem and further work/parts would be needed and he wouldnt know until he tried the new part. The most frustrating part is he said the keyboard part could not be returned if further work was necessary thus increasing the price and that couldnt be determined until he started the work! So, we have decided to buy a new gas range and a new fridge and obviously neither one will be a KitchenAid.

I purchased 30 KitchenAid gas convection oven which was delivered on January 3, 2013. On 1/14/13, service was required to replace igniter (oven shut off during baking). On 1/23/13, service was again required to replace burner (oven shut off during baking). On 3/13/2013, service was required to replace control panel (oven wouldnt shut off). On 3/25/13, repair again required (control panel again. Oven wouldnt shut off). On 3/28/13, control board needed to be replaced. On April 4, 2013, I had to order UI and harness connector. On 4/8/13, I replaced ribbon from UI to main control. Unit now is shutting off but is still beeping randomly in convection bake. Orvilles Appliance in Amherst uses DC Appliance to do their repairs. DC Appliance has been wonderful, trying to repair it. I went to Whirlpool product review on 4/8/13. On 4/23/13, DC Appliance arrived again to repair range. They turned off during baking again. Another control board was installed. When service technician was finished, the range started beeping again but it was too late in the day to speak to Whirlpool tech support. DC Appliance called Whirlpool tech support on 4/24/2013 and was told we would be contacted by Whirlpool on Monday, April 29th, to arrange replacing our range. Monday came and went. So Tuesday, April 30th, we called DC Appliance, who called Whirlpool. The story changed. Suddenly, they had no record of the conversation with DC Appliance about replacing the range. Today, May 1st, DC Appliance called us to say they had the names of the two individuals they spoke with regarding the replacement. We were told to wait until Friday to hear from Whirlpool. DC Appliance said they cannot give us the names of the tech whom they spoke to or the person above that tech who made the decision to replace it. We paid $1,447 plus tax for this range. On top of that, we paid an additional $139 for a 5-year extended warranty. We are getting the runaround. We have been patient. Whirlpool and Orvilles had been nothing but nasty. Please help.

Brackets keep breaking on the glass rack. Very unhappy with this. Currently can’t run dishwasher and only a year old. Other than that this has been a great dishwasher that we use every single day. I love the options. Not happy about broken brackets repeatedly.

After one year evaporator freezes up. Whirlpool sends out repair man who says evaporator not working, must order parts. A week later replaces thermostat. A week or two later evaporator frozen again. A week later replaces electric control board. Two months later evaporator frozen again. A week later repair man comes out, yes evaporator broken, must order parts. A couple weeks later repair man replaces circuit board. Seven months later evaporator freezes up again. A week later repair guy shows up, yes it is broken. Will need to order parts. It has now been almost three weeks and still waiting on parts. In between waiting for the repair guy or on parts, I have had to unload the refrigerator and manually defrost it every 1-2 weeks. KitchenAid had a very good reputation once upon a time. Apparently they are now getting their parts from the lowest bidder, most likely China. One other reviewer said KitchenAid refrigerators has over 3,000 parts backordered.

Stove - YKERS303BSSO: The coating on the control panel is peeling and the lettering is part of this coating, this is going to affect the readability of the knobs in future if we cannot get this resolved. Since we bought this stove in June 2014 should be a warranty on this type of thing happening? We always use only mild dish soap and a soft cloth to clean it. Sent an email to http://www.whirlpoolappliances.ca twice, second time included photos was told both times, that they recommend calling into their Customer Service Department at 1-800-807-6777 to have this issue resolved. Theyll probably tell us to change the control panel, which will probably cost 1/3 of what a brand new stove would cost. Also, the oven inside window has water/steam stains, how do we get them clean?
