I bought a new house from a builder in October 2012 which was a new built house. He installed Kitchen Aid Microwave KBMS 1454 SSS-3 which was expensive. Me and my wife are the only 2 members in house and sometimes my niece come to visit us. We were out of the country for total of around 5 months in last 2 1/4 years. We were not using microwave a lot. It means that we did not use microwave for total of two years since we bought the house. The other day I was popping the popcorn and I could not. Microwave was running but it was not popping the popcorn. I searched about this problem online and tried basic things as per the recommendation on web but It was not working. For expensive microwave like this one, it should work for at least 4-5 years. I called the kitchen aid for my complaints and they offered me extended plan for around $300 for one year warranty. I hope company like kitchen aid should take responsibility of their defective unit and help the customers by fixing it without charging them lot of dollars.

My Microwave oven cost me more than 5000.00. After one year problem after problem. Never fixed. The service Provider Field Appliance is the only company they deal with which is another bad things. I called them to replace my entire unit, they refused it and they gave me coupon 40% off of their Website. Since the problem start I spend over 1500. 00 dollars to diagnose cost. This is really bad manufactured product. Its not worth for the money we pay. I prefer any other brand appliances to my house.

Heys guys anyone looking to buy KitchenAid think twice or maybe not think at all and move on to the next brand. I got the Kitchenaid fridge two years ago and this fridge has costed me more than 600 dollars now. My fridge stopped cooling and I called an guy to fix it. Then few weeks later it stopped cooling again so I called in another outside guy and he fixed it. Now it broke down again so this time I call the KitchenAid repair guy. He tells me that the computer has been messed up and it need to be replaced and ya its not covered under warranty. Its been not even 17 months and the computer has broke down. What a marketing hype it has created in market. I dont think you guys should make the same mistake.

I bought this KitchenAid dishwasher thinking maybe it would last more than 6 or 7 years like the other brands Ive had. This one actually needed a repair before it hit the 4 year mark! Needed a new computer - of course the part was under warranty (five year) but the service call and labor were not. Spent $155.00 to have the part replaced. I also had to replace the upper rack after approx. 1 1/2 years. Ive had cheaper brands that have lasted longer without repair so next time I know better - Ill stick to the lower end brands as there seems to be no difference in the quality anymore. Disappointed!!!

My brand new dishwasher leaked from the moment we got it. Kitchenaid took a long time to send not one, but two repair men out to check it out and we were told by BOTH that we should have the dishwasher replaced since the tub was damaged in addition to a marked front panel. Then it took them weeks to finally say they are replacing the parts and then they come to refurbish it and the tub they bring is damaged. I now have to wait an additional 12 business days to have them come back. This will make a total of 3 months without a dishwasher and I have a toddler. They are the worst customer service I have ever seen. I will never ever buy a product from them and I will never recommend them to anyone.

I purchased all new KitchenAid stainless steel appliances in October 2009 from Bad Boy in Whitby. I also purchased the Gold extended warranty. I noticed about a week ago March 24, 2015 that the bottom of the fridge (model: KBRS22KVss1 and S/N KY3628480) has a crack right in the middle coming out from under the deli drawer. I called Bad Boy but of course the extended warranty expired in December 2014. I then checked the warranty in the KitchenAid manual but it expired the same time. I have never in all my 62 years seen or heard of a cracked liner yet in the manual it states it will pay for replacement or repair of the refrigerator/freezer cavity liner if the part cracks due to defective materials or workmanship. Just on the off chance I called KitchenAid....Due to the age of the refrigerator there is no warranty but they can send a serviceman for $89.00 for the first 15 mins. I talked to the parts department to get an idea of that cost and the liner is not a replaceable part but they do have a patch kit. He could not tell me how much that would be or what it consists of as its a service kit and hes not a serviceman. Beware appliances are made to last 5 years only.

The oven bakes perfectly even though it takes a while for the oven to reach temperature. The top electric 5 units are wonderful. I love the 3 racks. One has a handle type opening in the front and extends all the way out. The electronic display is easy to read and convert to convection baking or broiling. I havent tried the steam bake option yet, perhaps today when I make cookies. Repair shop recommended not using the auto clean as it heats to 800 degrees. So hello baking soda.

We purchased our Kitchen Aid dishwasher for about $1000.00, when we renovated our kitchen. From day one, it was not a great appliance. It did not clean the dishes well, and it actually dried specs of food onto plates instead of washing them off. The little compartment that holds the soap started sticking closed within 6 months from purchase. After a couple of years, the door started squeaking very loudly when it was opened or closed, which was followed by the door balance strings snapping, breaking, and throwing the door to the dishwasher wide open. We had to get the balance kit replaced, which by the way currently looks different than the old kit, and actually does not do the same job. Its way tighter. Because the door flew open when the strings broke, it caused the hinges on the side to bend. Those had to be replaced as well. These parts were replaced by a kitchen aid service person. After the parts were replaced, our dishwasher would no longer lock. We were told by the service person that our model had a lot of issues an d the parts that are made now do not match up with the actual dishwasher. When I spoke with Kitchen Aid about this, they played dumb. They told me it was out of warranty and they no longer covered any repairs beyond this. My argument is that they are not even providing people with correct replacement parts to get the units to work correctly, so it seems like they are breaking the rules of warranty by not supplying customers with correct parts. Its very disappointing that they dont do a recall on an appliance that has so many known problems.

My KRFC704FPS Counter-Depth refrigerator has had issues since day one. I should have returned in within the 15 day window to Best Buy. It is super noisy and can be heard as far away as the 2nd floor of my home. The freezer temp wont go any higher than -7 degrees on a thermometer and that is with a setting of 5 degrees. I have a super accurate electronic thermometer in the freezer and it can get as low as -20 degrees. If I set it lower than 5 it can get colder. The refrigerator section has to stay at 39 degrees of food starts freezing. KA has been out 3 times for the issue and they wont help. The techs even brought their own thermometers and it states the same. Their only fix is to turn off the ice maker. I paid $4k for a refrigerator and they wont stand behind it. Also, the seal is tearing and water pools up and freezes in the bottom of the freezer. I have had it for 11 months. Every time the tech comes out he says there are issues, but KA wont do anything but say it is normal. I have all KA appliances too.

Have to bleach weekly. Now the microwave has broken for the 3rd time. Started with “close door” then no light, now absolutely no power. Blacked out. Absolutely disgusted with these appliances. I purchased an expensive refrigerator based on previous experience with KitchenAid. In 2003 I purchased a refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. No calls ever to the customer service for any problems. They lasted 14 years. Thats why I went with them again. BIG BIG MISTAKE. This refrigerator Model#KRMF706ESS has been a problem since I plugged it in. I have missed almost two weeks of work waiting for technicians. I have had many service calls for the same issue and Im still not sure if its resolved. The last technician came out last week and within days my refrigerator is broken again. We started seeing puddles on the floor. The ice was melting in the container. We emptied container and now it doesnt make ice. I called KitchenAid, nothing they can do, when is enough, enough with these people. There was nothing wrong with the money I gave them for the refrigerator. I purchased a new appliance and its been nothing but a pain. They have replaced the same part three times. It still wont fix the problem. I am beyond frustrated. If I could give negative stars I would. When I contact the customer service department its like I am bothering them and wasting their time. They are wasting mine. Customer Service is a thing of the past with their rude customer service people and they dont care now that they have my money. It wasnt working right from the start and it continues to be a problem. I have lost faith in my refrigerator. I dont know if I could go on holidays and leave this appliance on. I wonder if anyone else is having a problem with this refrigerator. The service guy said that they have had nothing but problems with this model. They didnt test it long enough. I guess whoever buys it is a guinea pig. I would never ever ever recommend anyone to buy KitchenAid again. This is the absolute worst service. Since Day 1 it hasnt worked properly. They tell me in order for it to be replaced it has to not be cooling. A technician has to report to them that it is unrepairable and then after he does that, they send it to their engineers and then they see if they can come up with a solution. They could care less how many days of work I miss. They are waiting for my warranty to expire so they can take me to the cleaners for the continued work I know will have to be done once it is out of warranty. Thats the day they are waiting for... class action... thats the day I am waiting for. I know its only $5000.00 but it has cost me more than that now with all the time off work. What happened to the days where companies actually cared about the customer??? I was told the first time I bought the KitchenAid back in 2003 was when it was KitchenAid KitchenAid, now it is KitchenAid Whirlpool and now it sucks!!!!

I bought this range during a kitchen remodel some months ago. While it is a good-looking range, it is dangerously easy to turn the knobs on without noticing. If you lean against the knobs, Id even say brush up against them, they turn on with no flame, and you end up with gas escaping until somebody smells it. My spouse has no sense of smell, so its usually me that notices. Id say this happens weekly at least. (You also have to be very careful not to lean on the control panel on the top of the stove, as that will turn on the ovens.) Overall, as I said, a nice looking range but this is a design flaw that so far KitchenAid have refused to acknowledge. When I contacted them about it, they told me I could buy bushings to prevent this happening - so why do they sell bushings if they dont think its a problem? Very disappointed.

We purchased this fridge 7 years ago and it is built into our kitchen -- thus not easy to replace with an alternative. It stopped working one week before Christmas. An engineer said that it was the main circuit board that was faulty, We called KitchenAid (Whirlpool) and were told that it could not be repaired and they could not assist in replacing it. They claimed that the company who supplied these boards to them had been destroyed in the Japanese Tsunami and it was not possible to replace them. They actually said to us, You are on your own. How can any responsible manufacturer say such a thing!? Clearly they have no concept of who keeps them in business. They offered 25% off a new fridge (to replace would be $10,000) but would not put this in writing or tell us how we could access the discount. It was impossible to reason with them. In despair we turned to the internet and found 355 similar complaints (all negative) about the same fridge. However, we also found a guy in Florida who said he could repair the board for $120. We had nothing to lose so we sent it to him. He was brilliant, texted when it arrived, texted that he had tested and confirmed it was repairable, texted when he had repaired it, and then texted again to say it was on its way back. Brilliant, all within 24 hours! We fitted it on its return and hey presto, the fridge worked and has continued to do so. So why cant Whirlpool be as caring and offer this service, indeed even work with this gentleman? You can go onto eBay and find the board you need for sale at $1800 (supply & demand!) plus you may also find other similar people who offer to repair the board for around $120. We now have our fridge working again (and have not had to buy a new one and refit the kitchen). However we will NEVER buy a Whirlpool/KitchenAid product again. (They trade under more brand names than just these, so look carefully). Indeed having had a whole spate of other kitchen appliances also break down for various reasons, we have determined to NEVER buy a US-made brand again if we can avoid it. (Marvel are another one to avoid in our view). The only branded kitchen appliances we have that has never broken down is made by Miele and LG. Our kitchen engineer said that this Miele and other German brands (and Korean) are the models they are called out for least. On telling this tale to friends, 3 of them all said that they had the exact same problem with their Kitchen Aid refrigerator at about the same time. One had felt obliged to replace with the same product but 2 others said, Never again with KitchenAid, and purchased other manufacturers. It makes you wonder how any company can stay in business with this level of low quality products and poor customer service. I suppose if you have bought up most of the competition (at least in North America), you can feel that you control the market and thus dont need to care. Complacency is the beginning of most disasters!

Rebuilt was only option without warranty & 2 weeks of waiting & if faulty, continue to return until they make it right. Receiving harassing phone calls (2 times) from first service man with demand of $275.00 at almost midnight. Out $400.00 & refrigerator does not work. Cant go without insulin as diabetic. We have had ongoing problems with our dishwasher model KDFE104DSSI, which we purchased as part of a total kitchen set of appliances for install in the fall of 2015. Since the first year of purchase, we have had four (4) electronic keypad replacements, as well as, other problem parts. Each time the technician assures us that this is the only working part and with the *new* keypad, the problem will be solved. Well, the problem has not been solved and we are left to wonder why they will not just replace the dishwasher with something that does not stop working every 4-6 months. We are always asked if we purchased the warranty and we have not as this is a continuing problem and we should not have to pay them to fix something that has not worked properly since the first year of purchase. Nor should we have to pay to have a technician to come replace a part (which generally requires a month to order and return visit to install) over and over again. Dishwashers that cost half of this monster are more reliable and clean better as even when this thing is working we have to pre-wash our dishes! We are extremely disappointed in this dishwasher and our KitchenAid (Whirlpool) experience.

On 2/20/06, I purchased a KitchenAid Dual Fuel Range, model #KGRA806. Its sad to say that it has been one of the worst appliances I have ever bought. I have had the range repaired twice (the thermal disc among other things). Last week, it died again and rather than throw good money, we decided to replace the range. I thought I was buying a high end quality appliance, but sad to say the quality control on the Kitchen Aid appliances has really hit a new low. In the interim my KitchenAid stand mixer has broken again. Considering the cost of repair, I probably will replace that also! I thought I was buying the Cadillac of appliance with KitchenAid but found out differently!

Just purchased this dishwasher (KTA 44 dBA) mainly because it matched the refrigerator KRFF707ESS I wanted and am pleased with. However the top tier drawer of dishwasher is pretty much useless. I thought it was for stacking flatware but the prongs are so short, the flatware falls over. Wish I had bought a Miele which is more expensive but definitely superior. So now Im not using the upper tier for flatware. Alternative is this enormous basket which takes up so much space. No one would ever have need for that much basket space... takes up the whole depth of bottom drawer, which by the way, slide out on their own volition often. Dont stay closed unless you forcefully push it into place. Not thrilled with this dishwasher. It is quiet and it does clean. Thats it. Spend the money and get a Miele.

When my microwave was serviced by Prather Services, in Lexington,KY, it was discovered by the technician, that there were cigarette ashes inside the top of the microwave. Also, there was a nut driver found inside the microwave (I have photos). The microwave was operating well, except the door needed new springs. Prather Services took my microwave back to their shop for several months, then returned it, and it did not work at all. They indicated that it worked great in the shop, but now it didnt. They then have tried to make me pay for it. I ask about the unsanitary health issue with ashes in my microwave, and they said they contacted Kitchen Aid. They indicated that Kitchen Aid was going to do nothing about it. I have been without a microwave for more than a year. The Model of the microwave is KBMC140HSS03,serial #XR1601613. I have emailed Kitchen Aid direct, and they have refused to contact me about this unhealthy issue. Prather Services technician was very alarmed that our family had been using this appliance for preparing food, for at least three years, with the cigarette ashes inside that came from the factory.

This time it was a manufacturing defect which, according to the repairman, was well known but we had received no notice. Again, according to the repairman, there had been six updates to the control panel during that year but again, no notice from KitchenAid. Now, two months later, it has failed again. This time it is some sort of internal water leak which was undetected until it ruined about half my kitchen cabinets, the lower adjacent wall and several feet of living room wood floor. Fortunately I have both home insurance which will cover most of the house damage and an extended warranty on the refrigerator which will cover that repair but I am still out a substantial deductible which I intend to be reimbursed by KitchenAid. Further, under no circumstances would I recommend a KitchenAid appliance to anyone. This particular model is a POS and further, KitchenAid does not apparently care what happens to the appliance once it leaves their factory.

We purchased a KitchenAid (R) 5-Burner Gas Freestanding Double Oven Range 4
We purchased a KitchenAid (R) 5-Burner Gas Freestanding Double Oven Range 4 years ago. Almost from the beginning, we have had problems, particularly with the controls. We have had to replace one, or possibly two (cant remember) of the handles, three times, all at our cost. They simply were stuck and would not turn. However, what is more of concern is that the controls will turn to the on position simply if I brush up against one of them. Oftentimes I will hear the click, click, click that alerts me that the controls have turned on but have not ignited. However, frequently, there is no click; I am just alerted to the fact the stovetop has turned on when I begin to smell gas. This seems to me to be a major safety issue. I have talked to the company, to no avail. They tell me its out of warranty and I would have had to address this issue within the first year. As these things go, I cannot remember when we first experienced the problem. I suspect I probably thought it was just a fluke at first and did not think much about it. But, regardless, I would think KitchenAid would want to assure that no one experiences a major gas leak due to their faulty equipment.

My experience with KitchenAid was the worst ever. 3 months after I bought the dishwasher it broke down and I have been dealing with KitchenAid ever since and nothing has been done. You spend at least an hour to actually get someone on the phone and then they don’t help you. I had someone come to fix the dishwasher 3 months after I bought dishwasher and they blamed on the plumbing. I had 2 different plumber coming. They tell me nothing is wrong with the plumbing. I spent almost 1,000 on a dishwasher that I use for 3 months and KitchenAid don’t give a damn about fixing or replaced so now I’m taking a loss of a $1,000 and have to go buy another dishwasher. Our plan was to replaced all our appliances KitchenAid. Thank God we didn’t do it, because I really don’t ever want to deal with them again.

When my wife and I decided to do a complete kitchen renovation some six yea
When my wife and I decided to do a complete kitchen renovation some six years ago, we chose to install all major Kitchen Aid appliances based in large measure on their corporate slogan For the way its made. Since then, one of the two hinges securing the top of the deli drawer compartment in the fridge (KBFS20ETSS) had broken off. Because of the high price we were quoted for what is simply a cheap molded piece of plastic, we chose to forgo that replacement. Next, the ice cube maker became jammed requiring a service call that cost us $64.20 to repair. Then, several months ago, we saw that the soap dispenser door on the dishwasher (KUDT03FTSS) was apparently opening after the wash cycle was completed leaving the detergent packs that we use lying unopened at the bottom the washer. The result of course, was dirty, unwashed dishes. When a local repair service that I called in advised me (at a service call cost of $80.25) that the problem was likely due to a module failure, I was directed to a Kitchen Aid-authorized service facility, Alliance Appliance of Brick NJ. Between their initial diagnostic service call and subsequent repair, I was billed $405.10.Less than a month later, the same problem occurred once again, and again Alliance was called in. This time, we were told that a new dispenser assembly was needed and would be ordered by them. Having not heard from Alliance in weeks, I phoned them this morning for a parts status update. I was told that the part had never been ordered pending my authorization to pay yet another $60. I was never advised of this charge and apparently would have never been notified of the status had I not called. Frustrated and angry, I declined to pay any additional charge. This history of problems was sent to KitchenAids correspondence team on 10/17/14. On 10/28 I received a voicemail message from the company in response to my letter. The following day I called the number that was left thinking that it would be a direct line to the person that had left the message. Instead, the 800 number that I was given was a general one that had me waste yet time sifting through the usual menu of prompts and questions before I was able to finally connect to a live person who voiced her concern for my problems but refused to do anything about them other than to contact the factory authorized repair service I had used to relate my dissatisfaction. In total, service on the $5,000.+ we paid for our Kitchen Aid products has thus far come to just shy of $550. Not factoring in the time spent on the phone and waiting for scheduled appointments to show up. I think youd agree that having to spend this amount of time and money on Kitchen Aid appliance repairs makes a mockery of the companys slogan.

2 months ago, purchased new counter-depth KitchenAid from Sears. It never reached safe temp, and was 68 degrees after first week. Woke to spoiled food, and alarm beeping. Fast forward two months, and this refrigerator has turned our summer into numerous calls to Whirlpool (where you wait 45 min on hold before reaching anyone), 4 service appointments, (where you must be present at home waiting, for a 5 hour window), parts replacement, (must wait at least a week for parts), followed by still nonfunctioning refrigerator, then, start process over, again!!! We have had 3 service calls in the 2 month, now waiting for a fourth, each with major parts repair, only to still have 68 degrees, NON-FUNCTIONING, $3,000 refrigerator!!! Spare yourselves, if you can by staying clear of KitchenAid/Whirlpool. Tell your friends and family!!! I wouldnt wish this experience on ANYONE!!! They refuse to exchange or refund. Only continue to attempt to repair... UGH!!!

I purchased the KitchenAid Gas/Convection Range with AquaLift Self-Cleaning
I purchased the KitchenAid Gas/Convection Range with AquaLift Self-Cleaning Technology. To put it simply - it does not work. It requires you to pour 1 3/4 filtered water on to the bottom of the range after you remove all racks. Click clean button and poof, in 40 minutes your oven is clean...NOT! I am not a cook. I purchased this oven almost 2 years ago. Ive used it less than 10 times. Mostly for holiday dinners. It just is not that dirty. Tried the self-cleaning feature twice. No difference. It just does not work. I am currently also questioning whether the oven is really working well at all. It takes forever to preheat and lately, more time than usual to cook food. I called customer service as I purchased an extended warranty. They wont come out until I troubleshoot all issues. Their recommendation was to unplug the oven and wait 30 minutes before plugging it back in - to reset the oven. Try cooking something and see if that solves the problem. Havent done that yet at the time of this review, however, I think this is an oven I would avoid purchasing. I know Im going to have to end up scrubbing the inside myself and be forced to use the recommended cleaners and tools or risk forfeiting the warranty. It is a great looking oven. It was recommended to me when I was looking to purchase all new kitchen appliances after a total kitchen reno. I just have a bad feeling about this appliance. Cant imagine what others with families and those that use this oven often are going through regarding the ability to clean it. This AquaLift, low-heat technology DOES NOT WORK.

Whirlpool/KitchenAid is a terrible company that makes terrible products. Our built-in refrigerator was one month out of warranty when the evaporator stopped working properly. Cool, no problem, well just order a new one and get it fixed. That was last October 2016. Flash forward to March 2017, they sent the incorrect part 3 times. Now they say they dont make the part anymore. Their solution?? Buy a new $8000 fridge from them... Oh, but well give you a small discount. What a joke. PLEASE, please do not support or buy anything from KitchenAid. They will turn their back on you when their terrible products inevitably break.

Kitchenaid Refrigerator KFCS22EVM68 and dishwasher KDTE404DSS0 - We purchased higher end KitchenAid appliances 14 months ago when we remodeled our kitchen. At 12 months, the refrigerator started leaking - we had a cracked drain pan. Then a couple months later the ice maker failed. The warranty had just run out and KitchenAid was good enough to repair that under warranty. Yesterday, 14 months old $975.00 dishwasher would not quit running. We called, were told to turn off / check circuit breaker. We did. That didnt fix it. Now, will not honor warranty (2 months past) and are sending a repairman to fix. There are just two of us and we only run the dishwasher every couple of days. Very disappointing!

A few days after my dishwasher was installed my contractor noticed that vent [left side facing dishwasher KUDS35FXSS] was wetting inside door of my new cabinet. I contacted Kitchen-Aid. They said I had to contact where I bought it. I called the appliance store & told salesman (Dominic) whats happening. He said hed look into it. After a few days I went to store & asked him what was going on. He said his K-A tech said its probably a bad intake vent. Dominic told me to call the number he gave me to get a serviceman out & just keep the door of my cabinet open when I use DW until tech comes and fixes it. I went home & contacted the service dept. Tech came out. Tech said he felt moist heat coming out from side vent by cabinet. Tech called K-A Tech who told him venting system must be bad for that vent is supposed to takes in air. Tech said he had to order a new vent system & he would be back to install it. Two days before tech came back I opened door of DW & a screw fell on the floor. When tech came to put in new vent system I asked him about screw & he didnt seem surprised. He said it probably came from the insulation. Is that normal? He put new vent system in & left. I put on the dishwasher & about an hour later opened my cabinet & felt the inside of it. It was wet. I called tech again. He came out for the third time. He contacted a Kitchen-Aid Tech who told him to do a diagnostic check. Result is he has to put in a new Control board and dispenser. Now the front light indicator doesnt work. The dishwasher was installed a month and a 1/2 ago and I can only use it with cabinet door open because it is warping my new cabinet and somethings wrong with the dispensers. When youre looking for a dishwasher nothing in the details tells you where vents are. Who would put the vents of a built in dishwasher on side when there is wood cabinets on each side. Now Im stuck with a dishwasher that when used is destroying my cabinet and doesnt take the jet-dry and I have no idea what cycle because light doesnt work. I didnt pay to have a dishwasher re-built I paid for a new working dishwasher. What upsets me also is the appliance store that I purchased it from acts like its not their problem, its the companys. H & H Appliance center is the one who sold it to me, not K-A. I bought a new dishwasher not one that has to be re-built. Please help I dont know what to do. I dont want others to go through something like this. I bought 3 other appliances from him ($4500.00 total) same day I bought dishwasher. I guess I was foolish to think hed make things right. I feel H & H Appliance Center, 909 Rt.130 North, East Windsor,NJ 08520 should hold some of the responsibility. Shouldnt you be able to go back to the person you bought from and expect them to make good? Please help me. This will never end until the warranty is up and they dont have to do anything.

I purchased $12,000 in appliances a year ago during a remodel of my existing kitchen. Since day one, the commercial gas stove has been a problem. I had more than five repairs and every time, it would start something new to go wrong. One afternoon, I thought I smelled smoke and when I turned around, the entire electronic portion of the stove was on fire. After extinguishing the fire, I called the distributor and was told Whirlpool will replace the stove immediately and we will cover the expense of the installation. That was seven weeks ago, no stove, so phone call from Whirlpool, no reciprocation for my patience. Yesterday, I was told that it is probably back-ordered. ** Whirlpool, my house could have burned down if I had not been there and yet seven weeks later, I am still waiting? Never again will I buy another Whirlpool product and especially KitchenAid. Im still without a stove in a $50K remodeling job. I have called an attorney so dont bother with a phone call.

My top-of-the-line KitchenAid gas stove has had an electronic control panel
My top-of-the-line KitchenAid gas stove has had an electronic control panel failure twice now. The first time it’s just the oven that would not light and one of the panels (there are evidently 3) was faulty and was replaced under warranty. The second time the electronic control panel short-circuited and turned on the convection fan, which got red hot. Sparks and smoke were coming from under the burners, which is where the panels are located. I was not using the stove at all, but thankfully I was home! I was able to throw the circuit breaker in the basement. When the stove stopped glowing red, I pulled it out from the wall and unplugged it. The repairman that first came is no longer available. I have not been able to find anyone that has a card for both electric and gas. Customer service expressed regret that they could not help me find a repairman, but said to let them know should I find one. What? I will not repair this stove. I consider it an extremely dangerous appliance and do not want it in my house. I feel that Whirlpool should do everything they can to correct the situation for other consumers. Ive found other mention of the same failure with this model.

In May of 2017 my husband and I moved in to our newly built home. We purchased KitchenAid appliances. A dishwasher, a refrigerator and a stove. Shortly after they arrived I noticed that there were dents in the freezer door. They came to replace it. Then we noticed rust forming on the outside of the refrigerator. We had someone come and check it out. He told me to polish it more. That didnt change it in anyway. He came back out and said they will replace the doors. They ordered new ones. In the interim the new freezer door was getting rust on it. Then the compressor and the thermostat went out. They came to fix that problem. Now we are getting new doors and then they need to replace the freezer door. Now after all of this, the dishwasher is rusting. Our KitchenAid appliances have only been in our house for 4 and half months. I called the company, I called the place where we purchased them to replace them to no avail. We need help. We spent our hard earned money on a faulty product.

I am sick to my stomach... Just redid my entire kitchen in KitchenAid products thinking they were a good investment. The built-in wall oven is the WORST. I have used it once, for one batch of cookies - 350 degrees, bake time - 10 minutes. The first sign of trouble was how loud the oven was when cooking, seriously annoying. I figured I could get used to that, thinking it was just new technology at work. Was I ever wrong. The fan (and it is loud) has continued for an hour... As I write this, it is still as loud as can be. And we are talking only 10 minutes of cook time at 350 degrees! I am so bummed I cant stand it. I have never written a review for anything in my life, but because I know that I am going to have absolutely no recourse on this (I can hear it now... But there isnt anything wrong with the oven), Id like to prevent someone else from making the same mistake.

I wish I had read reviews here before we bought our stove! We have a 2003 KitchenAid (KGSC308LSSO) -- $1400 and change. It has fussy controls and hard to clean; Ive never liked the thing. The self-cleaner stopped working years ago; weve just lived without it. Then last week the stove was preheating to 350F, and the inner glass window spontaneously broke. My husband called it in; gave them the model number and all other information.Today I have to take a half day off of work. The usual response, well come between 1-5 PM routine; around 3 PM a repairman called to say he would be coming by to look at the stove, and put in an order for any needed parts. What the **? We need a window. Its going to cost me half a day of work, plus the cost of a service call, or two calls, to have some guy who sounded pretty incompetent on the phone tell me that we need a new window? We spent a bunch of money on KitchenAid appliances (refrigerator, stovetop, dishwasher, and double range) when we remodeled our kitchen and, if I could, I would like to go back in time a slap myself in the face for making this decision. KitchenAid appliances are GARBAGE. One side of our fridges french door pops opens then the other side closes. This is a nightmare when you have kids because it basically ensures that your fridge is open ALL OF THE TIME.The dishwasher doesnt work very well. We previously had a Bosche brand dishwasher and I SO wish we stayed brand loyal because that brand was terrific. The KitchenAid dishwasher doesnt completely clean our dishes, it does more of an 80% cleaning making us have to rewash some items after they been through the KitchenAid process. The nobs on the stovetop have broken twice now...I think you get the idea. We bought KA because we thought we were buying a premium brand and nothing could have been further from the truth. We will NEVER buy anything from this brand again and if my ship ever comes in I will happily throw this crap away and buy new appliances immediately.

I have in the last 3 years have had the refrigerator replaced 2 times. The last was replaced in April and then has once again gone out on me. A refrigerator full of brand new COSTCO groceries completely spoiled. Over $300 of groceries and I was offered $75. To top off the inconvenience of having spoiled food with 3 children they can not fix it for another 5 days. So we are over a week now without a refrigerator and a trash full of groceries. Beyond frustrating!!! Only wishing we could just have our money returned to us or yet replace it with another refrigerator that is not the same or like the same model we have been given.

I replaced the defective control board W10219463 on my 10 year old Kitchen-Aid 42 built-in refrigerator KSSC42QMS01 with a new Service Kit W10818296 which included a new control panel which has 8 wired connectors coming out of a new metal box. To install just remove the connectors from the old control box and trash the metal enclosure and circuit board. Install the new control box and plug the new connectors into the old ones that came from the old circuit board. Each of the 8 connectors from the new control board and the 8 connectors that were removed from the old board are matching, just plug in the connectors as they fit no need to label first. The new control board has 2 circuit boards instead of one and it looks like the relays and capacitors which fail on the old boards are larger and more robust. I bought the service kit from Sears which took 3 days, and paid $350.00 which included a 2 year warranty. We purchased a KUDE40 dishwasher in January of 2011 complete with stainless steel interior. The top rack glides keep popping open, letting the rack fall off. To make matters worse, the plastic wheels fell off the top adjustable rack due to the breaking of the plastic pieces that hold the wheels in place. Of course, this happened right after the year warranty was up. Luckily, I saved the service call and ordered the part online for $25 each and replaced the parts myself. Based on what I have read on other places on the internet, this is a problem for everyone and KitchenAid will do nothing about it. I will not buy another KitchenAid dishwasher and plan to tell as many people as I can not to buy one either.KitchenAid needs to listen to the public and fix this issue free of charge. If it happens to you, order the part online and carefully disassemble about 4 parts to replace the plastic piece with the wheels. A small screw driver to pop off the plastic parts was all that was needed and we used the other side as a guide to what goes where were putting it back together. Total time: about 15 minutes to replace one side. The part is the same for the right and left sides. Save yourself the service call!

After looking at various makes and models of ovens online, we purchased/ordered our KitchenAid wall oven (KEBS107) back in August 2012, waiting for over 2 months for the actual delivery of the new oven. Over the next year and a half, we had occasional issues with the oven not heating properly - sometimes it would pre-heat quickly - sometimes it would seem to take a very long time to reach the desired temperature - especially if I was needing to change the temperature during use. After 16 months of use, the thermal fuse had to be replaced. Apparently the oven door has to be closed at ALL times, especially when broiling. Now, after two years of use, the oven is acting up once again and not heating properly. I purchased an oven thermometer to verify this. KitchenAid is going to cover this 2nd repair, even though I was told that my ESP was not currently in effect (which is another frustrating story that I wont go into). I am thinking at this point that there is a major design flaw with this appliance. Having any sort of electronic/module located just over the opening of an appliance that can get very hot was probably not a good idea. If I cant open the door of a hot oven to check on or remove the contents inside, what good is it????? This oven has been nothing but frustrating pretty much since we bought it!

We are using a small backup fridge.Distributor has been calling frequently to KitchenAid rep/service to resolve. KitchenAid has not responded for 13 days since filed complaint. Since installed during building process, not simple to return. Have had other KitchenAid appliances in the past that we were very satisfied, but this is completely unacceptable. We purchased our KitchenAid Dishwasher KUDE40FXSS1 5 years ago. Although it washes the dishes well, to date we have replaced an upper basket wheel mechanism 6 times and now ALL of the wheels on the lower basket have broken due to being brittle from the high temperatures required to clean the dishes. We are so disappointed in the CHEAP plastic used inside the dishwasher! The last time we replaced one of the upper mechanisms, the part came with some metal pieces. Brilliant! Why didnt they think of this is the beginning? So far, it is working well! We are now in the process of replacing the lower wheel mechanisms - all four of them. Until those parts arrive, we have to delicately pull out and push in the lower basket or the wheels fall off. Thank goodness we can replace the parts ourselves. I feel sorry for the people who have to get a repairman in. The cost to us has been substantial, I cant imagine what it might cost to pay someone to fix it! We bought a 29 cu. ft. French Door stainless refrigerator model KFIV29PCMS in 2013. We had repairmen out three years in a row. Each time required several visits. The air tower, ice maker evaporator fan, two fresh food evaporators, valves, a compressor, and a UIn were all replaced. We were out of a refrigerator for 18 days one time and over a week this last time. On one visit they sent a repairman out only to say that he couldnt fix it as it is a closed system. Every time its something different. We have had frost on the top left shelves with water leaking into them, water coming out of the ice dispenser, ice building up on the freezer drawers, water on the floor, and it just quit working. Although we had insurance, it only paid $300 for spoiled food. We have lost more than that. It is always so inconvenient to schedule time for them to come, then reschedule when the part finally comes in. I have complained to Good Deals where we bought it. I dont think they should sell appliances with so many problems. I complained to KitchenAid but all they did was take my complaint. Needless to say I have complained to the repair place,Gulf Appliance. My old Sears refrigerator lasted 26 years without even a service call, and it was a fifth of the cost. I cant believe a company cannot do a better job making an appliance. Did they even test them before putting them on the market? Apparently not. I will never buy another KA fridge again. Our microwave, stove, and oven are all ok but I wonder if they too will go out soon.

My dishwasher was purchased in November 2012. After having the repairman out several times to fix top rack and a few other things, now am unable to use top rack as the arm is no longer rotating and dishes are not clean in top rack and am only able now to wash dishes in bottom rack. The dealers repairman said he could nothing wrong the last time and charged me $50 even though it is still under warranty from dealer. I am so disappointed in this dishwasher to the point of tears and frustrated no one can tell me the problem. Am following all the guidelines, turned up water temp, use cleaner once a month, rinse aid, etc.

DONT BUY!! This range DOES NOT CLEAN!! The technology of AquaLift Self Clean is falsely advertised. Do not use oven cleaners. No commercial oven cleaner or oven liner protective coating of any kind should be used in or around any part of the oven. Quote from manual. Dictionary: self-clean (of oven, filter, etc) - having a mechanism to clean itself. They have a customer service number dedicated to the AquaLift Self Clean system. This model, #KGRS202BSS, vents out thru center of oven door, venting out the front top of door positioned immediately below the range top handles causing handles to heat to VERY HOT! The oven tempered glass is cleaned by removing the whole door, disassembling - then cleaning both panels inside of glass & outside! HAZARD. A scratch to tempered glass can compromise it. NO one tells you that; do they!! How does this help improve to free up your schedule? What surface does one place the door on to clean it? HAZARD is cumbersome, possible breakage and injury while handling. Black stove top is NOT porcelain & stains permanently... as do the burner caps and burner flame tops. The top non-fingerprint stainless by panel scratches incredibly easy. It takes a long time to heat to desired temperature. UPSIDE: Range is attractive looking if thats all you require out of a range.Beware, KitchenAid is not customer complaint friendly to resolving issues - read reviews, they just keep sending out repairmen! They will chase you around the Cuckoo Clock! Once out of warranty, they will not talk at all! Check out the BBB complaints too! From www.whirlpoolcorp.com: We are the number one major appliance manufacturer in the world, with approximately 20 billion in annual sales. We provide purposeful technology that helps free up your schedule for what really matters. We feel that our products positively impact your life right now. Mission: Create Demand and Earn Trust. We are NOT feeling this right now!! They manufacture just about every brand, hmm.. monopoly springs to our minds. They are a global company. The sad part, this type of technology is fast becoming the future of all ranges! Why not! Whirlpool owns just about every brand so what they do becomes the design of all our product choices.

Bought a new side by side with ice maker from Sears in Feb 2012. By July noticed my floor was swollen and wet. Called the tech out. It had a crack in the water valve so it had a slow leak for months. The tech said he never sees these crack. Told me to call Whirlpool. Did, they told me to call Sedgewick which handles the insurance claims. Then Sedgewick told me they couldnt do anything because I didnt have the broke part. How is the average consumer suppose to know to keep it? The tech took it with him. How nice for them. Sedgewick told me to call Whirlpool back. Did, no answer. Had to leave message. Did that twice. Then I went to Sears, said they would look into it. Havent heard a peep. Needless to say have to turn it into my insurance for the 6000.00 damage to the floor you can see, doesnt include the sub floor that might be damaged or the mold that might be under there. This has been a ongoing thing for over a year. Never again will I buy anything Whirlpool or Sears. Customer service is awful. Now 2 of the knobs on the stove I bought at the same time will not turn. No quality built into these products!!

Asked him why we were not contacted for a recall and he said they only recall for bigger issues like electrical issues. Called Kitchen Aid. They were more concerned with the date of purchase than the DEFECT!!! Told them I had an extended warranty and they said they didnt know why the repair person would say those things... Told me to put a claim for damages to broken dishes through whomever I bought the extended warranty... Should have been a RECALL KITCHEN AID!!!! They sent me a claim form for damages... On January 22, 2014, we were sold a used, returned, older model and/or LEMON KitchenAid Dishwasher without our knowledge by Pacific Sales Kitchen and Home in Oceanside, California. We are requesting that KitchenAid stand behind its products and repair or replace our nonworking dishwasher for no charge to the buyer. We purchased a floor model for $931.54 including $100 installation and were informed by Pacific Sales Kitchen and Home that this dishwasher was brand new and in perfect working condition. This dishwasher was installed in a two person household and has been used less than 50 times since the purchase date. The correct detergent and rinse aid have always been used and the filters have always been kept clean. This dishwasher has never cleaned the dishes properly and stopped working all together on September 9, 2014. We contacted Pacific Sales Kitchen and Home to request a service repair and they instructed us to contact KitchenAid directly. It was then we were informed by your company that the dishwasher we purchased was actually four years old and had gone through two previous owners. We contacted Pacific Sales Kitchen and Home and they said this was not true and that they would handle the service repair themselves at no charge to the buyer. We told them that we did not believe them and that we wanted a brand new replacement dishwasher immediately. They would not comply and only offered to make the necessary repairs. So, with great hesitation, we agreed and they replaced the broken main board, which allowed the dishwasher to function, but still not up to par. Then in November of 2015, the dishwasher stopped working altogether once again. The dishes actually run through the entire cycle now, but they are dirtier than when they went in. The water appears to be lukewarm only during the wash cycle and the rinse dispenser does not function properly. It has read full for over a year now without adding any additional rinse aid. Furthermore, the soap dispenser appears to not always open during the wash cycle as well.We spent $931.54 on a KitchenAid Dishwasher less than two years ago and as of today, we do NOT have a working dishwasher. Again, we are requesting that KitchenAid stand behind its products and repair or replace our nonworking dishwasher for no charge to the buyer or we will be forced to take further action at this point. Thank you.

KitchenAid Dishwasher Model #KUDS40CVSS4 - After owning this dishwasher for 22 months the therma fuse has been replaced four times. Should I have it replaced for a fifth time or purchase a new dishwasher? On 5/27/2011, I purchased my KitchenAid dishwasher from Sears. On 5/31/2011, my dishwasher was not functioning. I called KitchenAid who scheduled a service call with Quaker City Service (215-355-4400). A service man replaced the therma fuse in the unit. On 10/12/2011, my dishwasher was not functioning. I called Quaker City Service and they replaced the therma fuse. On 9/19/2012, my dishwasher is not functioning. I called Quaker City Service. They indicated it was the therma fuse and would like to replace the circuit board as well. The repairman indicated the dishwasher could be a fire hazard. On 10/25/2012, the dishwasher was fixed with this special part. On 3/21/2013, the dishwasher overheated during the drying cycle and is no longer working.

I purchase a KitchenAid Built-in Microwave Model KMBS104ESS02 in 2017. In January of 2020 it wasnt heating and of course our warranty was no longer valid. My husband has worked on microwaves before. He tested the Magnetron, Diode and High Voltage Capacitor and purchased all three new and installed in March of 2020. It worked for approximately 1 1/2 months and went again. He purchased the same parts again on May 20, 2020 costing another $263.27 totalling $526.54 to repair. This lasted through June. He called KitchenAid and was told that it is probably the motherboard and too expensive to replace just get rid of it. So we paid approximately $1,000.00 for the microwave new and spent $526.54 on repairing totalling $1,526.54 and was told to get rid of it. Great customer service response. My husband was so upset he threw it out and purchased a new Frigidaire for 1/3 the cost of the Kitchenaid. How sad is that. I am attaching one of the receipts from May 20,2020 cannot find other receipt. My husband pick up parts from Appliance Parts in Old Bridge NJ in March.

We have had a top-of-the-line KitchenAid dishwasher for over 5 years. This washer gets light use as we eat out a lot and only seasonal residents. The first problem was the failure of the door to stay closed. A repairman came out and we discovered that they use heavy string to attach the door and it broke with a $200 repair. About 6 months later, my wife was pulling out the dish rack and a plastic piece in the track came out. About 2 weeks later, the other sides plastic piece came out and now the entire rack falls down if you pull the rack out too far. Another $210 to fix. None of this should have happened if they used quality dependable parts.

The oven shuts off in the middle of cooking, then will turn itself back on,
The oven shuts off in the middle of cooking, then will turn itself back on, anywhere from 30-60 minutes later. My husband and I moved into our just built, brand new home with brand new appliances, in November 2006. We have a Kitchen Aid Gas Range Architect II series (model KGRS807SBL00). The first Christmas meal, in December 2006 was just shy of a disaster. The fan in the oven kept making a horrible sound, and then the oven shut off in the middle of convection cooking the prime rib roast. Luckily, the neighbors let us use their stove to finish the roast. Our entire family and guests didnt eat, until almost 9PM that night. The oven, of course, turned itself back on within an hour or so. A service call the next day showed nothing was wrong with the oven, and the issue couldnt be replicated. Next year, no noise from the fan, but during the Thanksgiving dinner, the oven shut off again unexpectedly, in the middle of a regular baking cycle, and of course, with no warning, turned itself back on 30 minutes later. This year, same thing happened, and again, a $30-$40 service call to a licensed Kitchen Aid technician shows nothing. The diagnosis cant be made, because the issue cant be replicated. The oven is barely 5 years old, and of course, is outside of the warranties, and frankly doesnt get much use. Its just me and my husband cooking. Were often not even home, and Ive used the self-cleaning cycle twice in the 5 years weve had it. This oven doesnt take a beating in terms of use, and certainly seems to be a faulty product. The only similarity to the occurrences when the oven shuts off appears to be that several burners are going while the oven has been on for a while. Its like the system overloads, which sounds like a computer or electrical sensor issue. Ive spoken with several customer service agents, and and ultimately, my calls to Kitchen Aid are a waste of time. They continue to recommend more service calls, which cost money every time, with no resolution and a stove Im stuck with, which wont work consistently. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid/Whirlpool oven again, and will tell everyone who will listen what a crappy product they produce, and how they wont stand by them.

I am a single mom who worked hard to purchase the gas range of my dreams. But ever since I bought this range it has been one nightmare after another. The oven glass shattered on its own one day when I was sitting in the kitchen having my coffee; the gas leaks every time I turn on the top oven; the knobs constantly break and have to be replaced every two years. Sometimes I really think this range is possessed! Possessed or not, this range is a hazard that I need to get rid of very quickly. If you are considering purchasing one of these ranges, think again. By far the worst decision my life.

Bought a KitchenAid Dishwasher 15 months ago. Almost $900. Wife wanted it to match our KA fridge. I thought, for that kind of $$, the KA DW would clean better and last longer than my moms $300 Kenmore. But the KA has never cleaned well, even with top-line Cascade products. This week, it would start but not complete a cycle. Nothing in the manual about this. Called customer service. Took them 20 minutes to tell me they have no troubleshooting advice for this problem. My only option was to pay for a service call and the machine is just 3 months out of warranty! I told the lady that I would be writing many uncomplimentary reviews. Im convinced that KitchenAid is not worth the extra money. It is NOT a better product.

I came to this site to see what others are saying about KitchenAid... it just made me angrier but justified my feelings! I, too, purchased ALL KitchenAid appliances for my renovated kitchen. HUGE MISTAKE! The appliances are less than 2 years old. My refrigerator has been broken for literally 3 months today, after MANY calls to KitchenAid and then Whirlpool - their parent company - I have a repair company coming to replace the CONDENSER! A huge job that takes 5 hours.. that is what I was told. The first time they came, they misdiagnosed so I had to make another appointment. The second trip they told me I needed a part. I make the appointment and have to take the day off of work (they wont do warranty work on Saturdays-- they actually said that) so Im waiting for the 12-3 window of arrival. At 11:45 THAT day I get a call its the wrong part... KitchenAid and Whirlpool has been NO help! I cant even talk about the stove and oven!! It just shuts off in the middle of cooking!!!! But yet the gas keeps blasting! So while I think something is in the oven cooking, waiting for timer... it shut off! I am afraid to even use this oven!! Again, no help, no assistance from KitchenAid. The Rep tells me to reset my breaker when this happens... I have no choice BUT to do that but this is not normal! My stove should not just shut off! And the dishwasher??? Please... more of the same! I will never again buy any KitchenAid or Whirlpool product or any product under the Whirlpool company! Nothing but issues since the day they were installed!I heard great things about GE but I wanted KitchenAid... my HUGE mistake. If only I had the finances to get all new appliances!!

I bought the Kitchenaid 5 door refrigerator (French Door) in May 2016. The ice maker went out a couple months after I got it and it was replaced and then 2 more times it was replaced in less than 6 months. I decided that maybe the water filter was the problem and didnt replace it. Took it out and didnt have any more problems with the ice maker. Now only 3..5 years later it started having more problems but not with the Ice Maker. It completely stopped cooling and everything in the freezer thawed out and had to be thrown away including things in the refrigerated area. I researched and they no one will provide an extended service on it because they dont cover french door refrigerators. Now I know why they require too much service and dont work well. I called a repairman and will have to wait a few days for them to come out. Lo and behold I was woke up this morning to the sound of ice cubes dropping into the bucket. It has started cooling again. We purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator (model KFIS29PBMS) with a 5 year extended warranty. We started having trouble with the unit after 1 year, in that the freezer compartment was making a lot of noise. About a year later, it started again. the problem was the freezer was not keeping ice cream hard. They diagnosed the problem to be the automatic defrost cycle not working properly. Ice would build up around the fan causing the loud noise. This time, the service technician replaced the control panel and another panel in the rear of the unit. The noise subsided, but two problems continue to exist. The unit periodically beeps (every five to ten minutes) and the refrigerator freezer compartment continues to not freeze ice cream.I called for extended service and was told they would NOT come out to fix the problem because it was already repaired. After an hour with their extended service rep, they agreed to find another service company but said I may have to pay for the repair. I have had KitchenAid products in all three of my homes in the past. The quality of their products has changed - unfortunately for the worse. When they refuse to stand by their extended service contract, then its time to find another company. After reading several reviews on this refrigerator, I found that I am not the only one who has had this problem. Do yourself a favor, when you look at a KitchenAid product in a store, just walk on by. Save yourself a lot of aggravation!!!

My 2-year-old refrigerator started flooding from the bottom freezer. When I called KitchenAid, I was told I had to pay for the service call and they would pay for the replacement part. Since I had been chopping ice sheets from the bottom of the fridge for weeks to prevent flooding, I agreed. When the repairman arrived with the replacement part, he knew the exact problem since the part which took the excess moisture in the fridge to the evaporation tray clogs - he explained it was too narrow. I was offered a part with a much wider diameter, although he explained it would work best with the old part out and no replacement. When I phoned KitchenAid back to receive compensation for the $91 service call - the problem is in the design. I was told no, and that I owned the fridge and KA had no responsibility (After all, they had given me a free replacement part). My ice maker broke after 1 year. The fridge periodically freezes my produce and the meat/cheese compartment cover broke after a year. This was a very expensive fridge.

The 2nd unit had to be returned because it arrived with massive damage to the door. Huge dent. The 3rd unit was finally installed in Dec2020. However, it still makes a lot of noise. Nowhere near their 44dba rating they claim. It’s the loudest dishwasher I have ever owned. Also, the dishes come out with a white haze. They come out dirtier than when you put them in. I’m going to call customer service again. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned.

W10476359A - This is the WORST dishwasher we have EVER owned!! Initially many of the dishes had food residue after the cycle so in addition to the usual rinsing we began wiping many of the dishes. However we continue to have some food residue on dishes and cutlery and need to re-wash them. We have purchased other dishwashers in the past that were less expensive but clearly better quality. This dishwasher was included in our new townhouse and although it looks sleek and is relatively quiet, its true purpose which is to clean dishes is atrociously substandard. I will NEVER buy another KitchenAid dishwasher!!

KITCHENAID MODEL# KUD123HBWHO, DATE OF MANUF: 1996, INSTALL DATE 1996. A good note for the earlier Whirlpool dishwashers. I had this one for 18 years & the steel tub developed a leak due to a small hole rusted through. It took 2 months, but Whirlpool has finally replaced my unit with a new one. The original warranty was for 25 years on the tub. This unit was 18 years old, without any other problems. I did have to pay the $95.00 diagnostic fee to have an independent appliance repair company to come & confirm the damage. This was an excellent example of customer service, in this instance.

I love this stove and oven, but follow the recommendations. Use the conventional settings to heat the oven, then switch to convection or it takes ages to heat up. The steam clean doesnt work as well as I thought it would, but it does work.

We have owned the KERS306BSS range since March of 2013. On balance, we like the design of the range and its features (except the AquaLift cleaning feature which, like others have reported, does not clean well). During this time, we have had five instances of a repetitive problem of the range unexpectedly turning itself completely off. This has happened both while using the range and while it is not in use. KitchenAid FAQ advises customers to turn the power off, wait a minute, and turn the power back on in an effort to reboot the system. After doing this, however, only one of the features (oven or surface units) starts working again. The range has been serviced after each of these instances and works correctly for another few weeks, or maybe a month, and the problem repeats.KitchenAid initially would not refund our money and only offered a replacement unit. When we did not receive delivery confirmation, we attempted to follow up. We were told delivery had been delayed to February. Then, we were told replacement units were not available and given instructions on how to fax in an application for a refund. We told we would receive a confirmation. We did not. We will post our additional progress at resolving this complaint.Overall, our experience with KitchenAid Customer Service personnel has been very poor. Each time you call you get a different person who has a hard time locating your previous calls. The first time we called the Product Exchange Group we were assigned a contact person who said we should call her for any questions. Unfortunately, we could never reach her again and other customer personnel did not seem to know her.

Purchased KitchenAid Architect Series II, 5 burner gas freestanding stove with double ovens. Within 5 weeks, the paint started bubbling, cracking and flakes were falling off, this was on the panel where the burner knobs are located. Called and repairman came out and looked at it and called in for instructions on what to do. We were told by him, numerous phone calls to kitchen aide and supervisor, Sorry, the stove is only covered for 30 days for cosmetic problems. Ok, I say, your paint is defective or application was not right. I cannot believe you would not fix this problem, when it is obviously defective. I have had appliances for many, many years and never had paint bubble and come off as this has, especially a brand new appliance. The stove looks horrible, the whole control panel is now gray steel and your company will not fix an obvious problem with your product. I will never and tell others not to buy KitchenAid because you do not stand behind your products that obviously has a problem. I can buy a new control panel for $100 and replace it, but after spending the amount of money that I did for your product, that is another slap in the face.

Kitchenaid KRFF507ESS01 Refrigerator. Cost approximately $2300. We decided to upgrade kitchen appliances 3 years ago. Replaced our 2001 refrigerator (never a problem & still running perfect in our garage). Warranty expired after 2 years.Since then: 1. Coils inside form ice and then refrigerator won’t cool. Has happened 3 times. Must empty entire refrigerator & freezer and thaw. Takes more than a day because ice build up so bad. (Sent men to the moon in 1969 - can’t these KitchenAid engineers design an auto defrost like most other companies!)2. Water valve in back (plastic & cost $45) leaked in middle of night. Flooded basement below kitchen and warped/ruined wood floor in kitchen.KitchenAid is welcome to contact me and if they don’t - I will NEVER buy another KitchenAid product.

The electric oven boards need to be replaced for the second time! After using the self-cleaning feature, the oven went out. The door remains locked and none of the push pad buttons work. The hot temperature fried the board, this is my second board in 2 years.

I bought a KitchenAid dishwasher (Model: KUDS30IXBL) and within a couple of months, I noticed that the side air vent was damaging the wood cabinet and the drawer next to it. I called KitchenAid customer service and was told that there was nothing they could do about it because, according to them, the dishwasher was functioning properly. I called the store where I purchased it from and they sent out a couple of installers who looked at the damage and said,I knew this was going to happen when I saw the side air vent design. They took a couple of pictures of the damage and said that they would let their boss know. I have been waiting for two weeks and no word yet from them.

I purchase a KitchenAid refrigerator (20.0 cu ft counter-depth) from Sears 12/20/14 ($1979.99). I purchased a 5-year warranty package from KitchenAid too. Six months later I found a big puddle of water on the kitchen floor coming from the freezer compartment. I called KitchenAid and when the woman asked me what was going on in the freezer (I told her frost was forming in the ice compartment); she told me that it was warranted under the first year and gave me a number of a company (Calif. Appliance Tech) to call. They came out on July 8, 2015 and told me the problem was the gasket on the left side hadnt been properly sealed and was letting air in. They left and a few days later someone from CAT called to tell me the part was ordered and it should arrive in 6 weeks. It never arrived. When I spoke to John on 9/18, he insinuated that I can still use the freezer which is not so. He told the part (freezer) has to be manufactured and I have to be patient as there is a long back order! In the meantime, CAT closed the case and it had to be re-opened when I called back on October 16th.What does this say about the crappy product? The freezer is completely frozen shut so I cannot open the door and have to make numerous trips to the market as I cant use the freezer. I went back to Sears in Santa Monica and told their customers in the appliance area not to purchase any product with KitchenAid in the name. I was very vocal to the shoppers about the horrible experience with them (Whirlpool owns them). I then spoke to John at Sears who took me to their computer and looked up the part KitchenAid told me had to be manufactured and the part is readily available.I am so angry with KitchenAid. They are liars! John at Sears told me the part with gasket could be purchased thru them but it will terminate my warranty and would cost me up to $1,000 to replace. I paid an additional $266 for the 5-year warranty. I am ready to throw in the bucket, call Goodwill to haul it away and purchase a product that doesnt have KitchenAid or Whirlpool in its name. John told me that had I purchased the Sears warranty this wouldnt have happened. How can KitchenAid get away with not providing the warranty they tell us we have? My last call was to Josh on 10/16/15 and was again told the part would arrive in 6-8 weeks.

I waited many years to finally get my KitchenAid appliances. I purchased them at Sears and I even bought the Premium service agreement. For unknown reasons, my refrigerator doors began to rust (I have pictures and would be happy to send them). There is no apparent leak or reason for this rust. When I contacted my service agreement, of course, they told me doors arent covered. I was told the only thing I can do is buy new doors. I would gladly do that if the damage was the result of neglect on my part. The refrigerator was purchased 11-02-99. I realize it is 13 years old but my last refrigerator was 25 years old when I gave it away (still running perfect and no damage - Kenmore). Since I have not received satisfaction about repairs, I have decided to keep my refrigerator as is. I make it a point to show it to everyone that comes to my home and telling them about how KitchenAid stands behind their product lines. Rest assured I will never purchase another KitchenAid anything. As much as it is embarrassing to have this in my kitchen, I feel spreading the word is more important.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher two years ago. I have a KitchenAid refrigerator that is 25 years old. The dishwasher KDFE1040BLO has been worked on 4 times. They have replaced the water valve and the motor. Just yesterday, it dumped water all over the floor and the heated dry is not working. Thank goodness I took out an extended warranty. I know that KitchenAid is a good brand, but I am very disappointed in my dishwasher. It hasnt worked 3 out of the last 6 months.

I purchased a Refrigerator/Freezer in 2012 for my cottage from a local dealer. Over the last year Ice has built up in the freezer floor and then there is water leakage. I would get rid of the ice build up and then no leakage for a short time and then it would start all over again. In the meantime the floor and side wall of the kitchen which housed the fridge became damaged. I called the dealer and they tried to give some things to do which did not work. Eventually we got the dealer out and they came with a new valve and installed a P trap drain tube. Apparently Whirlpool have known of this problem and never let any of their consumers know.As we are on an Island it cost us a lot of money to get a repairman out to replace this piece. I called Whirlpool and they did not want to discuss it and dissuade they could have sent me a replacement but would not pay for the cost of the work to replace the valve even though they knew for years that there was a problem with this part. I will never again get anything made by Whirlpool.
