After six years, our microwave stopped working. A service repairman said he could fix it for $375, something to do with the panel door message. I figured I could go without the microwave for a while. Then after cleaning the oven, the glass shattered in the microwave. Heat must have risen and too hot. The oven still works, but the glass is still getting into the oven and on the floor. Of course, this model is discontinued. Im looking at GE as a replacement. Too bad as everything else in our kitchen is KitchenAid. I would not recommend anyone doing their kitchen with this company.

Weve owned a number of small KitchenAid appliances over the years that have worked perfectly and held up well. As a result, we bought a KitchenAid dishwasher a few years ago. What a mistake! I will never buy another KitchenAid appliance. This dishwasher has been nothing but trouble since we bought it. Half the time we have to switch off the breaker to get the electronics to work. Recently, the piece that holds the top tray in broke spilling glass all over our kitchen floor. Do yourself a favor and avoid KitchenAid large appliances!

KitchenAid dishwasher Model#KUDE201Xs. I am very dissatisfied with this KitchenAid dishwasher. We have three service call within 1 year, last one is leaking badly. I am not recommend anyone to buy this product. Even all kitchen Aid appliances I had very bad experience, I spent around $12000 for my new house all kitchen aid appliances and almost all I have to call for service two or four times.

Our KitchenAid model KUDD01DSSS stainless steel dishwasher is a double draw
Our KitchenAid model KUDD01DSSS stainless steel dishwasher is a double drawer unit with plastic interior. It is very nice for my wife and I and small loads but probably not as useful for a family. It is a bit noisy and seems to run quite a long time. This is a 2006 model, so perhaps a newer model would be more efficient and address the noise issue. Overall, I have been satisfied with this dishwasher.

Owned this dishwasher (KDTO104SS) for 8 months. It replaced a Bosch. Gradual decline in performance for last month. Did the hard restart, worked for one cycle. Requested warranty service, waited one week for repairman, he ordered new part, waited another week for him to return. He then said another part had to be ordered, refused to overnight as he is only paid once for warranty service and only came once a week to this city. Then he indicated that the control unit was shorted as insects had gotten inside. We have professional pest control and have never seen those insects. They were, in fact, inside the controller. This must be a design flaw, as there isnt a place in the country where some insects do not reside. We have previously dishwasher for more than a decade with no problem. The manufacturer indicated there is no recourse. We bought this as it was made in this country and had good performance. The seller is working with us to get another appliance, but we will NEVER buy a KitchenAid again.

Refrigerator model KFIS29BBNS00 - We purchased this unit in 2012. Ever since we have add numerous repair calls. Not only the first year but since. They replaced left door and freezer pull out door rusted. Ice maker replaced, and mother board several times for the ice maker dispenser. Now we are under extended warranty and we need a compressor. They will be out next week to replace. We requested the first year for a replacement and they have spent more on parts. Since we purchased it then we paid for it. They will not replace unit. It is a lemon from day one. Always has made a noise. It was so loud at one point we had to close our bedroom door at night to sleep. Dont buy this appliance. It looks pretty but it doesnt work right and they keep repairing it. The warranty department said they do not have a record for the first year just since they took over.

Dishwasher model kuds30lxblo: After 1-1/2 years, the dishwasher did not complete a wash cycle. Occasionally, it would. I had it repaired and within 6 months, the same thing was happening again. Kitchen Aid will only cover parts but not a service call or labor. I refuse to pay for service on an appliance that should last at least 5 years.

We bought a brand new KitchenAid 29 cu. ft. French Door Architect Series II and it would not work right from day one. The ice maker is a joke and the freezer will not cool... Our ice cream was liquid by morning time. Luckily we didnt put everything in there after we thought something was off about the freezer. WHY in the WORLD would KitchenAid sell such a piece of junk to their customers. I bought this thinking it would be good quality, but all I have is headaches. I hope I can just return this and get something else...SOON!!! I would love to know if there is ever a lawsuit over this fridge because I would sue-thats how bad this fridge is.

I want to join in the conversation about NOT BUYING a KitchenAid refrigerator. Same problems as others. First water all over the floor from broken/backed up line. Now refrigerator completely stopped working. Service just left after stating that the main control board is fried. The servicer said he wouldnt even touch it until I spoke with KitchenAid because they no longer make the part and they will have to decide what will be done. Immediately called KitchenAid and was told they would have to file a claim and then decide what will be done. Its Tuesday. I have had no refrigeration since Friday and now I hear horror stories about the complete lack of response from manufacturer. Never Never Never buy a KitchenAid. I cant believe I did.

I purchased a KitchenAid microwave model# KMCS3022GSS and trim kit in May, 2018 as we were in the process of remodeling our kitchen and the cabinet maker needed the dimensions of the unit to build the cabinets. I knew that I was taking a warranty risk as it was going to take 8 months to get my cabinets but I expected KitchenAid products to be high quality. However, in less than 8 months of actual operation the microwave has died and from what I’m reading on this site it can’t be repaired so I’m out over $500. I’ve been a loyal Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer but it’s time to look for another supplier.

I had a break down with my 7000 dollar refrigerator. Called KitchenAid they gave me a number of the official repair people. They came, problem was a control board. He said he can’t order the part, it is no longer made. I did not believe him. I called KitchenAid to order. He was right. My fridge is 5 years old now I have a 7000 dollar boat anchor. KitchenAid will not stand behind their product but is willing to give a discount on a 9000 dollar refrigerator. Please don’t ever buy a Kitchen aid or any other Whirlpool product. The quality is not there anymore. They should be ashamed of themselves and soon if this keeps up their doors will close. Spread the word about KitchenAid.

I had a kitchen remodel done. I decided to replace my Samsung with a KitchenAid. I thought for once in my life I would like my appliances to match. The refrigerator works ok, BUT the noise is unbelievable! It rattles, pops and shakes. I am so sorry I purchased this! I have had service tech, told me that the vibration was from the motor and frame. Used a piece of tape to fix the problem. It didnt work. They sent another tech. He told me that it was the water reservoir. Order a new one and installed it. Noise is worse! When I called KitchenAid AGAIN, the service agent was rude and told me that if they sent another tech out there and the noise was not happening, I would be responsible for the charges. This noise is intermittent, happens maybe every hour or so. I am happy with the other appliances I purchased, but the overall experience with this refrigerator will end my relationship with KitchenAid for good.

Spent $3200+ on a KitchenAid Refrigerator model KRMF606ESS00 about a year ago. Weve had nothing but problems since we got it. The ice/water dispenser would stick open and wed end up with water and ice on the floor. The tech that came out to fix it said that theres a known delay between the ice/water paddle dispenser and the computer that tells the refrigerator to dispense the water. He did replace the unit because it was sticking as well as the delay. This helped. Would have been nice to know this before ordering the refrigerator. Shortly after that was fixed we noticed that our food was spoiling prematurely and the refrigerator seemed warm. I bought a thermometer and found out that the inside of the refrigerator was around 46-48 degrees when it was set to 33. This time the tech that came out said that the paddles werent opening to allow cold air into the refrigerator. Fine. Ordered a part that came in in a few days and installed it. The tech cleaned out pounds of ice that had built up in the back of the unit between the fridge and the freezer when he installed this part. Because of this, all seemed well for a week or 2 until the thermometer started climbing up again. However, this did not fix the problem. This time the tech that came out said it was a gas solenoid that needed to be ordered - something about the coolant not distributing properly between the freezer and fridge. He said it would be a few days to order the part. Five days later I call the repair people again and they said they had to order the part from the manufacturer and it would still be another week or 2. Um HELLO we have spoiled food here and it is the week before Christmas. Nothing we can do maam. We can overnight the part for $100. Call the manufacturer to see if they can do anything. Called the manufacturer WHIRLPOOL who proceeded tell me that theres nothing they could do - they got the order for the part - it IS IN STOCK but they havent shipped it yet. Well, can you overnight it? That is not our policy maam. What? Why not? Can I talk to your supervisor? No maam, that is not our policy. I can email my supervisor and they will get back to you in 24-48 hours. Are you kidding me?? You dont have a supervisor? That is not our policy maam. If he called me maam one more time I would have jumped through the phone. So basically, screw you, customer. Were not helping you and dont care if your food is spoiling. Oh, but were happy to take your $100+ per year to extend your warranty on this piece of crap. DONT BUY KITCHENAID IF YOU WANT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ARE THE WORST.

I tried to find the diagrams for KitchenAid Model KDTE204DSS1 to no avail, as they keep providing a different but supposedly similar model. The washer has a pump that whines and screams and now it will not pump. I did the usual, and cleaned the filters etc. Finally with a turkey baster, I emptied all of the water from washer. I then carefully removed the three prong brown wire from the pump. I twisted the pump and it came out in my hands. Once the pump is totally dissimilar to all pump on the dishwashers that Kitchen Aid lists. This does not make very happy. As I write this, should I find/buy a pump in the morning and put it in place and the machine again fails, I look at the circuit board and head to Sears to buy a Kenmore. Kitchen Aid needs to be in the garburator.

We purchased the dishwasher (plus five other appliances) as we understood they were a quality product. After 30 months of minimal use we woke up to a major leak from our dishwasher thankfully not reaching our finished basement. Call in appliance repairman of high quality and had the the whole pump system replaced. The repairman said it was very common replacement on KitchenAid and it was probably a manufacturing issue. Talked with customer service and was told under no circumstances would KitchenAid stand behind their product as we did not call customer service first for service. Without a paper trail they would do nothing. I hope this will help other consumers make a decision on what products they will choose.

Purchased KitchenAid dishwasher about two years ago thinking we were paying more to get a quality product. It has been instead inferior and troublesome. A long series of problems began from the start. Crooked footings that made it more challenging to install. Leaking door seal that needed to be replaced. Leaks from some undefined location that require we use and empty a drip pan. Plastic wheels breaking and not staying on track (dumping the full tray into the well) when sliding in full trays of dishes. Poor cleaning compared or prior cheapo washers. Flatware trays that wear out easily even while trying to be careful, and now to top it off, the unit has stopped rinsing the dishes entirely. What a huge waste of money!

This refrigerator is an expensive $9000 built in KBSN602ESS00. It is a replacement for another KitchenAid of the same size. I have had 4 service calls hoping for a tech that can stop the loud, disruptive shaking, rattling noises this unit makes. It is so loud it can easily be heard in the next room where I watch tv. I have spoken to Kitchenaid numerous more times hoping for a solution.Besides the loud ice maker filling with water, the obnoxiously disturbing loud noises from ice cubes dropping, the compressor humming loudly at two different speeds, this built-in makes a sound like metal being shaken and rattling. It can make this noise 6 times in 20 minutes. It does it in the middle of the night, during the morning, every time water is being added to the ice maker. Even if you push the ice maker arm into the off position, this refrigerator still makes the shaking, rattling noises. It wastes your time with tech appointments. Whats worse is Whirlpool apparently tells techs its a water line moving problem. Two techs have told me the noise is internal to the refrigerator. Each tech has called into Whirlpool for a solution, yet that expensive, disruptive unit is still sitting in my kitchen. It has also had temperature control issues. Thirty-four degrees is the coldest setting for this refrigerator. It does not always maintain this temperature on its shelves though. It also has the capacity to drop the freezer to -15 F. That wasted a good portion of my day. Waiting for techs, 4 times has wasted another 4-hour blocks I had to fit in to still be left with this disturbing refrigerator. The salesman quit working for the store I purchased it from about a month after the unit was installed. A second salesperson assured me she would contact Kitchenaid. I have heard nothing back.

Count me in the group of very angry KSSC42QTSOO refrigerator owners. My circuit board started to ting about one month ago. It was sent to CoreCentric 1 week ago, and Im hopeful to have a working refrigerator in another week or two. In my Google search of this problem, I came upon an interesting post (which I could not relocate today) that may be helpful to some. A realtor from Ariz posted her problem with the same circumstances; same circuit board part number (W10121049 and substitute board 10219462. She said her husband had experience with soldering and circuit boards and was able to repair their refrigerator with a $5 capacitor, purchased at Radio Shack. She said she had found out these boards had defective capacitors manufactured in South Korea. Sure enough, my repairman showed me the rounded top of the blown out capacitor on my circuit board... Dont scrap the fridge until you check all avenues. However, never buy a KitchenAid appliance again.

Remodeled our kitchen back in 2007 and, without much research, purchased KitchenAid appliances. Always hearing the name meant upper end, quality products. The wake-up call should have been when I received a warranty extension notices in the mail after only two years. June 2011 both Deli/Crisper pans started freezing everything inside so I called Idlers, the dealer, and they sent out a technician. He told me, after checking with KitchenAid Tech Support, that the circuit boards needed to be replaced. Luckily the rest of the fridge worked cause it took eight visits and weeks to get the parts, and when they came the connectors didnt match up. Tech Support said they could not do anything else, the Idlers technician felt sad for us and actually cut off the connectors and spliced the wires one by one. Now the main circuit board is failing and I hate to think how much this will cost or how long this is going to take to repair. Did I mention this refrigerator cost $5,000 and does not come with outer panels? They have to be custom-made to match the cabinets.

We have a 6-year-old Kitchen Aid (subsidiary of Whirlpool) built-in refrigerator. It is now longer able to maintain the appropriate temperatures, and the problem has been diagnosed by the Kitchen Aid authorized repair service as a defective control board. Unfortunately, Kitchen Aid (and Whirlpool) made or obtained these control boards from a factory in Japan that was destroyed by the Tsunami (this was over two years ago). Rather than sourcing this part from somewhere else, Kitchen Aid has decided to tell its customers that they are on their own. The only possibility seems to be to remove the control board and ship it to a company (Core Centric) in Illinois to have it refurbished. If the part gets lost, or damaged, or is unable to be refurbished, you are just out of luck. I assume this is the same situation for other parts in Kitchen Aid and Whirlpool appliances, as I assume the factory in Japan made more than just one part. This is outrageous conduct on the part of Kitchen Aid - I thought there was a Federal requirement that parts be available for items manufactured and sold for at least 7 years. The tsunami was unfortunate, but surely two years is long enough for Kitchen Aid to have found a way to obtain repair parts for its appliances. This sounds like a great opportunity for a class action lawsuit against Kitchen Aid and Whirlpool. There must be lots of customers that have been harmed by their action, or inaction. In our case, we will end up spending hundreds of dollars sending the control board out to be refurbished, and probably going for an extended period without a refrigerator (cant work with no control board). If the control board cant be repaired (for whatever reason), we will have to purchase a replacement built-in refrigerator, and have our kitchen cabinets redone so the new refrigerator will fit - estimated cost of that would be $10,000 or more.

I have owned this refrigerator (Kitchen Air refrigerator model #KFCS22EVMS2) for almost 4 years and it continually has had problems (e.g., seals around doors deteriorating). Before this I owned a SubZero for over 10 years and never had any problems whatsoever. If there had been room in my current house I would own a SubZero again. So I purchased what I hoped would be a fine quality refrigerator (the KitchenAid) to discover it is badly built with poor quality components. The question is, are there appliances that truly are quality built that are within the financial capability of the majority of people?

Had the same thing happen with a potato that I sensor cooked this evening. I am so thankful that I was in the kitchen when it happened. The potato actually caught on fire and the flames were inside the microwave. I had to take the potato out of the oven and burned myself in the process. I dont dare use it now. If I had been in another room, who knows what would have happened? As far as Im concerned, its trashed! From what I have been reading here from you folks, it doesnt appear that KitchenAid is very helpful no matter what the problem. You pay top $ for what you think is a good product, lesson learned. Could have bought 10 one hundred dollar ones for what I paid for it.

In April, I unfortunately spent $9,000.00 on KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. Since then, I have had problems with the refrigerator. 3 service calls! Now it is Christmas Eve and the refrigerator is not cooling. I am having 22 people to dinner on Christmas. The repair man came and told me that it needs a new compressor. To make matters worse... it needs to be ordered. A 6 month old refrigerator should not need a new compressor! Obviously, it is a lemon. Called Customer Service. Apparently, KitchenAid has no customer service. I requested a new refrigerator because I do not want to keep fixing a defective product. What happens when the warranty runs out? Spoke to a CSR and her supervisor. Just kept reciting the script. Under my warranty... the compressor is a replaceable part so I can not get a new refrigerator. I know that the CEO Jeff Fettic wouldnt want the repaired defective refrigerator either! So then I asked KitchenAid to find a compressor and install it so I can host the XMAS dinner. I was told that is not possible. Best they could do was overnight it and since tomorrow is Christmas, the part would not be shipped until Thursday. KitchenAid is not only ruining my Christmas dinner but it sounds like I wont have a working refrigerator for a while. Not even sure if they really are having the part overnighted. Bottom line.... KitchenAid does not care about a customer once you buy their products. No effort on their part, no matter what the circumstances! I am up the creek regarding my Christmas Dinner and they dont give a damn. Additionally, KitchenAid doesnt want to replace the refrigerator because they will get more money for all the parts the defective unit will need in the future. Or maybe I will buy an extended warranty! Do not buy KitchenAid. It is now December 27th and I still do not have a working refrigerator!

Had to buy this refrigerator to fit into an existing built in space. The size fit perfectly. Only positive to our experience. DO NOT BUY this refrigerator for the following reasons: Installed in Jan 2016 and already had to replace icemaker, slides on bottom drawer dont work, seals on top french doors moldy, temperature not regulated in refrigerator, and freezer section froze up. Labor costs to repair is very high: quoted $340 to replace freezer drawer slides and around $100.00 each time someone comes out to check. Mold started accumulating on refrigerator seals. Noticed some small rust spots on the freezer door (exterior) that I could not remove. We do not overload either freezer or refrigerator and we vacuum out coils regularly. My next review will be on my Kitchenaid double ovens - very disappointed with these as well!!!

I purchased what I thought to be my last refrigerator in 2007, a KitchenAid KSSC48QMS03. I built my house and was able to maintain and solve any issues that arose and they were minor. 12.23.2014 my refrigerator stopped cooling. We trashed at least 500.00 worth of food and have been living out of an ice chest and an under counter refrigerator. I hired an independent repairman 12.26.2014. My cooling system was leaking but the control board was fine and the 12-year warranty was in effect. He referred me to Kitchen Aid factory service 12.29.2014 for 95.00. They told me it would be 1,200.00 out of my pocket to fix the WARRANTY coolant leak but they would not stand behind the repair. He also offered the tsunami tale. I went home and watched the evaporator fan run at full speed so my control board and refrigerator do not have the problems he outlined. I am now waiting for a call from Whirlpool to entice me to spend more on another of their wonderful products. This is criminal.

Just had my 6th service call in a year and a half to repair the ice maker. Because its now out of warranty every call is costing me $99.95 plus parts and labor. This is a $3000 refrigerator and works far worse than the $600 one in my garage. KitchenAid refuses to do anything to assist so I am pursuing lemon laws.

Range KESS907XSP02 - Turned on brand new $2,300 range, wow can you say loud? KitchenAid arranged for a service call, turns out that is how loud this model is and there is nothing they will do about it, no refund or exchanges allowed. I would say us as consumers were not informed of this obnoxious feature. We would not have special ordered this model if KitchenAid would have disclosed this flaw. We sit and cringe when cooking in our new kitchen. The loud sound is not our imagination, friends and family agree. I bet no one at KitchenAid has this model in their own home unless it was given to them for free. What a waste of money.

I purchased the KitchenAid dishwasher model KDTM704ESS0, for around $1400 in 2015. After three years of light use (there are only two of us) the wash motor seized up and needs to be replaced at a cost of $500-$600. I called KitchenAid and they told me the motor was no longer in warranty so they would do nothing. This is my fourth KitchenAid dishwasher in forty years. None of my other KitchenAid dishwashers have ever needed a repair of any sort. In fact, I have never even had a service call on any of my other KitchenAid dishwashers. The previous dishwashers were replaced due to kitchen remodeling or upgrading, not because they stopped working. I cannot believe that a main component of this expensive dishwasher would last only three years. I would think twice about buying a new KitchenAid. I know two other people who have had their KitchenAid dishwasher motors fail after only approximately three years. Sad that the KitchenAid quality isnt there anymore! Also sad that the company is OK with a customer spending $1400 and having the product last for only three years!

Purchased all new appliance for our renovated Kitchen in May of 2017. They were installed towards the end of June, and we started having issues with the refrigerator within months. This is Model KRFF305ESS00, French doors, with water dispenser inside on the left-hand side. Once you fill a glass with water, the water dispenser doesn’t shut off properly and continues to drip... not one or two drips... but constantly. I phoned and the first serviceman they sent out told me that there was nothing wrong with it, and that is just the way it is. I called back, they sent another service guy out who said “that’s not right, but I’m not really sure what’s going to fix it, but I will order a new water tank and tube and see if that does the trick. I will also order a new air damper because it seems to be grinding and it shouldn’t be”.Two weeks later he returned with the parts, installed them, and it worked better for about a month. Now it’s still dripping, and the noise it makes sounds like it’s going to take off. I just called with warranty department, and there is no more coverage. It will cost $139 plus tax just to have someone come out and then more money for whatever parts they want to try next, that likely won’t work. My husband says “take it to the dump, it’s a piece of $3,000 garbage”!!! We will be shopping for another refrigerator... and it won’t be KitchenAid. How do these people stay in business??? Oh... Cathy on the warranty line, sure was trained properly... All she could say was “I certainly understand how you feel, but there is nothing we can do about it”!!!

I am sorry I did not use this site before I purchased my KitchenAid refrigerator. Apparently, they do not stand by their shoddy product. I have had the same issues as most. The icemaker broke two years after purchase. Now after 6 years, the two circuit boards are broken and need to be replaced. The total cost for this could go up to $800. I had a service person look at it and replace the inverter board at a cost of $450. Two days later, the fridge got hot and service guy came back. He diagnosed that the main board needed to be replaced. KitchenAid does not even have this part anymore. Now I have to send out my part for repair and be without a fridge for more than a week. I am disgusted! Never again will I buy KitchenAid products.

I own 4 KitchenAid appliances, all 7 years old and all have needed repair. The microwave door spring broke, as well as the dishwasher door spring after the warranty. The refrigerator needed the entire electronic board and fan replacement, of course after the warranty. Lastly, the oven. But it was repaired while under warranty. We are 2 adults, no children and live in this home 6 months a year. I asked KitchenAid if there was a recall. The answer was no! So, I am not very happy about KitchenAid appliances and will not recommend or ever purchase Whirlpool products again. Not happy to say the least.

I’ve had the cooktop, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave for three years. THREE YEARS!!! The refrigerator stopped cooling. The next day the freezer stopped freezing. We waited five weeks for the one and only repair company in our area, Guinco, to come out. Was told that a part, which was no longer under warranty $507, had malfunctioned. Waited another four weeks for the part to come in. When the part arrived they put it on and then discovered the condenser, which thankfully is under warranty, $1,000+, was no good. So now we’re having to wait another six weeks for the new condenser. Practically four months. That is totally absurd. Why they feel only one company in my state is authorized to work on these substandard appliances, I don’t know. Luckily we have an older refrigerator in the garage. My husband went out and bought a portable ice maker, also. I read on the website that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool products can last between 15-17 years. If that’s the case for the “few” products that do not last longer than three years, it should be an automatic replacement. That would be excellent customer service. Do not buy this product. Run, do not pass. Go as far away from this cheap as heck product. The product “looks” fabulous but it’s all a delusion. Again, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS CRAP PRODUCT.

I purchased a side by side Kitchenaid (KRFC704FSS00) fridge in April 2017 and was so excited for this beautiful appliance! It was their newest model, with all the latest features and upgraded interior and had a hefty price tag. After a few months our ice machine was not working properly so we had to have a technician come out. They told us this machine does not produce large amounts of ice and makes it every 3 hours. With a family of six this is not cutting it, there is never any ice!!!Woke up this morning to find our Fridge had DIED!!! No power and all the food was spoiling. The board blew out after 16 months of purchasing. Absolutely ridiculous. And of course since it has been over 1 year since purchase, so it is no longer covered under warranty. $500 later to have the unit fixed. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I will never purchase a Kitchenaid/Whirlpool product again!

I had very similar experience on my 8-year old side-by-side KitchenAid built-in refrigerator (KSSC48QMS01). It started out with loud motor sound once in a while, then I noticed that the control panels numbers were flashing. Power Off/On from the panel, or on the physical switch did not make the flashing go away. This lasted for about a month before it produced chirping sound every 5 seconds. Four days after the chirping sound appeared, my food started to be not cool any more (The freezer side was still okay, and the foods in the drawers were not as warm as the ones on the shelves).Anyway, I ordered the Repair+1 plan from KitchenAid (actually it was Whirlpool), and they sent ASI to come the next day. The engineer from ASI was very good. In less than an hour, he replaced the control board, and I have cold food (and lots of ice from ice maker!) that night. All in all, I only lost two days use of the refrigerator, plus the cost of the plan (~ $400). A new refrigerator would have cost me more than $8,000, plus 3-4 weeks of time when I will have to wait for them to build it. I am very happy about the service I received from ASI (281-452-2121). The engineer arrived promptly, is competent and courteous, and the work was done professionally. He took my broken control board, so he can send it for repair and use it for the next customer.

The warranty is only for a year so now after spending over $5,000 less than two years ago, we have to pay to get it fixed. There are three expensive control boards in the appliance (each $200+). As of today, all three have failed and been replaced over the last 12 months. KitchenAid doesnt seem to know that heat is the arch enemy of electronics and that when you put electronics in a high temperature appliance, you need to take special care to protect them. I too have the issue of an extremely foul odor coming from my dishwasher since day one (Ive had it less than a year). I have had 3 service calls per Sears. They have all told me the usual, clean with certain products, run a cycle with vinegar and baking soda, it must be my garbage disposal etc... nothing worked. I finally called KitchenAid directly. They sent one of their service people out to inspect the machine today. He explained that the machine was built without a vent fan. I was not aware that dishwashers had vent fans, but I am also not an appliance mechanic. He said that I need to leave the door open and run a cycle of vinegar through after each use. So, I need to use double the water and double the electricity to get one load of dishes done. Not to mention, trip over the open door each time I walk into my kitchen. My questions is... if there is no proper ventilation then I have to assume that mold and bacteria will ultimately become a problem (if not already). Why has no one from KitchenAid thought about this? Ultimately, this is a potential health hazard. All this time I think my dishes are clean when in fact I am just washing them within a dishwasher full of nasty things that can potentially make my family sick. Im glad I dont have infants anymore. Can you imagine sterilizing baby bottles in this piece of crap?! I am still working with KitchenAid to resolve the problem. We will see how this goes. I can say for sure that Sears has been awful, no help whatsoever. Customer service very very rude. I will NEVER purchase another appliance from Sears, and after reading all the horrible reviews, I will never buy another KitchenAid. I am also having issues with the top rack. I have to hold it in while I load the bottom rack. Very inconvenient.Updated 5/30/2016: Just an update to my previous (5/24/2016) post. As I feared, KitchenAid customer service has been no more helpful than Sears customer service. I was told that theres nothing that can be done about the foul smell in my dishwasher. I have been committed to having a piece of crap dishwasher. In the meantime, I am writing letters to the CEO of Whirlpool as well as all the board and committee members. Perhaps if others do the same, one of our letters will end up in the hands of someone who cares. If you do a Google search of CEO of Whirlpool, the leadership page for Whirlpool will come up. On this page are the names of Whirlpool administration; including Jeff Fettig CEO. The address: Whirlpool Headquarters 2000 N M-63 Benton MI 49022-2692.

We purchased KitchenAid KUDS30IVWH3 a year and a half ago from Lowe’s. All new dishwashers have a new connector that hooks the water supply to dishwasher. It simply screws onto a plastic piece. Over time this connector simply came loose. It flooded our kitchen and laundry room which has been three months of restoration - new floors, rebuilt cabinets, etc. And it cost many thousands of dollars for the insurance company. It has been a serious problem. The plumber said these new connectors are not safe and he gets nervous every time he installs one. He said they cannot be refit with a different connector. I am the second person he has had with major flooding in the home due to the new connectors. He said the European dishwashers still have the old brass connectors.

You have been fair warned. If you still buy a KitchenAid refrigerator after reading this then you have no right to complain. Total piece of junk - completely failed after less than 2 years. We lost several hundred dollars of food. Apt Appliances offered to do nothing but charge a $165 service call with a $400 labor minimum. This is after I bought ALL my appliances from them for a new house build. I called KitchenAid and they too denied warranty until I really started complaining and only then did they remember that there is some 2-4 year warranty covering many major parts and I could just purchase a warranty plan for $300 odd dollars to cover labor. They have zero pride in their product. I know the days of 30 year old appliances are gone, but 2 years - really???? Furthermore, their customer service people were aloof and rude. The best I can hope for is a class action law suit. Hopefully some law firm does a search that that term and stumbles upon these posts and takes action against them. This is what I get for buying made in America? Hopefully Honda will start making appliances!!!! In closing, may Satan curse KitchenAid.

Unfortunately, I am joining a long list of customers who purchased the Kitchen Aid Superba microwave oven/oven built-in combination. After less than 5 years, the bottom oven door locks, without warning or just cause. KitchenAid is aware of this manufacturer defect, but chooses to ignore it, and refuse to resolve this issue. Turning off the circuit breaker should reset the computer, but dont count on it. The other solution you may be given is to turn on the self clean feature, cancel it after 2-3 minutes, and hopefully it will unlock. I am appalled that managers like Kia (ID 8592), has no concern for customers. Kia basically stated that after one year, warranties expire, it becomes the customers problem. The licensed technicians are stumped to fix the problem, but wont tell you until they collect a service call fee. What is even more outrageous is the model and serial number are inside the oven, but when the door is locked, you cannot not see the number. It is a no-brainer to relocate the model and serial number, so it is accessible when the oven locks up, because it will. The bottomline is, a class action lawsuit needs to be filed, and a national recall needs to go into effect. Please send me an email if you want to be included in this lawsuit. Send facts with your complete information to **. This is an obvious manufacturer defect which is a hazard. The oven light will not turn off, and the oven door locks for no apparent reason. I am writing to the president Mark Bitzer and the CEO Jeff Fettig about the issues that should be a concern to them. Others experiencing this problem should write to them at ** Benson, MI 49022.

Our Gas Range/Oven is a little over two years old. It has a self cleaning feature, that you would think I should be able to use. The first few times it worked fine, no issues. I used the self cleaning feature in November of 2017 and received an error message, but didnt really tell me the problem, after it was done the oven door locked and I could not get it to open, even after I tried to cancel and reset. I had to call a repair person, since KitchenAid wanted no part of it, since it was no longer under warranty, how convenient. $180.00 dollars later it was repaired, I needed a new part, since the technician said that with the self cleaning feature it tripped something in the electrical system, and he also added that it will probably happen again. So I have this self cleaning and I cant use it. Unbelievable.Anyway, I did use it again, and no issues, but last night I set to self clean for one hour and guess what, it happened again. My door is locked and the inside oven light is on, and I cant turn it off. I reached out again to KitchenAid, and they were very sorry and would refer this to their support team, but no recalls on my appliance are on file, therefore, they cant do anything for me. Unbelievable, now Im waiting for the repair person again to fix the issue again, and Im the one paying for it. NEVER EVER again will I buy a KitchenAid product. KitchenAid 21.9 cu ft Refigerator - KBFS22EWMS. Two year old 22 ft french door fridge with bottom freezer is falling apart. Poor build quality, poor service. For over two months, the freezer portion has be experiencing a build up of ice. We defrosted (manually) and build up began again. Waited for over a month for service man to visit. Upon inspection, service noted two things: 1) thermal defrost coil was faulty and 2) fridge door seal needed to be replaced. Our fridge does not experience abnormal usage, two adults and two university students. Why does a door seal deteriorate after two years unless...... its poor quality or defective... but no warranty?? (I have a 20 year old back of fridge in the basement, no problems other than its almond in colour). Why does a coil not work other than its defective or poor quality..... No warranty??? (I have a 25 year old deep freeze that still works). In addition to the defective manufacture and poor quality of this fridge, neither KitchenAid / Whirlpool or the service company can identify the part (i.e part number) to order, replace and fix the fridge. How do you build a product and not know the parts that go into it? Poor or lack of quality control! In the last two years I purchased a fridge, dual fuel range and dishwasher; all were KitchenAid. All were billed as being the best Kitchenaid had. I have had major repairs now on all three appliances! I bought and paid extra for KitchenAid, their quality was in theory better than most, NOT in my experience. In our home KitchenAid stands for KitchenDisabled or Kitchen in need of first aid. Poor build quality and poorer product knowledge and documentation. Run do not walk away from Kitchenaid/Whirlpool. They have a 1 year warranty on parts; is this because they know that within 14 months you will need to be replaced and thereby earn extra revenue from their parts sale? Interesting strategy and sales plan, poor customer service and reputation. Built NOT to last.

I had a new kitchen put into my 80-year-old house by a reputable, long-established DC firm. The kitchen itself is a delight, and I couldnt be more pleased. Because of the somewhat unusual footprint of the space, we were limited in our refrigerator options. I chose a stainless-steel Fisher-Paykel fridge and I love it; I had my own GE Profile range reinstalled. That left the dishwasher and the microwave. Kitchen Guild (the company that installed my kitchen) said I could get a deal by buying at least two KitchenAid appliances. I had never owned a KitchenAid product, but I thought they had a good reputation. What a mistake! The dishwasher started having problems with the LED display before the end of the first year. Finally, it froze completely, and I have not used it in over two years (the kitchen was installed 6 years ago). The built-in microwave with vent fan also began having problems almost immediately. First, the grid on the top fell off and broke; I called and they sent me a new one. Then, the handle fell off and they would not do anything about it! I super-glued it back on. Then, the replacement grid fell off; I super-glued that back on. Tonight I was preparing dinner and put some veggies in the microwave to heat up. The oven started making very loud, strange noises and then I smelled a strange, electrical smell. Obviously, there is something seriously wrong with the oven, and I cannot use it again. I now think I was offered a good package rate on these appliances because they were clearly lemons! I have never had such a negative consumer experience in my life! And I thought this was supposed to be a premium brand! Has anyone else had a similar experience with KitchenAid products? I paid a pretty penny for them and this is an outrage.

I remodeled the kitchen in 2007. Refrigerator, freezer, 2-drawer dishwasher and combo micro and oven all broke down in Nov. of 2012. I called service for all appliances to be fixed. Freezer was fixed w/ new motor (service man stated KitchenAid knew of the problem for many years w/ no recall). After 3 months and 2 servicemen from different companies, oven is still not fixed. The parts KitchenAid suggested to these servicemen did not work. KitchenAid again knew of a problem with both ovens and did not recall. After many months without any ovens, I called KitchenAid. I asked for suggestions. All I got from the customer service rep was silence .... and then a sorry. He told me that he could not help in anyway. I spent $3200 on these ovens that only worked for 5 years and I cannot get parts to fix them. I will never purchase a KitchenAid appliance again.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission at 1-800-638-2772 (a government agency) was very helpful in taking my complaint about product safety regarding our exploding oven. If enough of us file complaints about our KitchenAid double ovens, they will take action from the government end to rectify the problems.I also went to Sears where we purchased the KitchenAid double oven a month before and they kindly and quickly replaced the oven with a different brand. I have the Kitchenaid electric double oven range model YKFED500ESS2. Its just my spouse and I here and we rarely use the oven at all, let alone the top oven. I wanted to use it one day, and noticed that all of the paint/enamel in the recessed corner of the rectangular indent at the bottom of the oven, was chipping off and cracks forming along the entire edge. The enamel chips were about 1/16 inch thick, and coming off in chunks and strips. My oven is about 16 months old, but I think this problem started before I noticed it. Of course, you can now assume that this oven is just off its warranty. I called Kitchenaid to complain and see if they would cover this DEFECT. They said nope... Its off warranty and just cosmetic. I ask you... If you bought a brand new car and the paint fell off it less than a year and a half later... Would you be happy? Needless to say, I am NOT happy and I will NEVER buy a Kitchenaid product of any kind again. They obviously make poor quality products and you are SOL when their stuff falls apart right after the warranty is over. I also have had issues with the fridge I bought at the same time... But thats another story.

Ok, so for the 2nd time in less than 3 years, the wheel clips on the top wash basket broke, which in turn makes the basket fall down and the washer inoperable. For the price I paid for this dishwasher I will tell you that I was a little more than miffed. The last time it happened, I called my home insurance company out because I did not have the time to deal with the washer (that cost me $70). This time I went online to see about ordering parts. I found this site (and after reading through numerous comments) I have to say that I am extremely disappointed in KitchenAid, especially when I see so many people experiencing the same problem as me. This is obviously a design flaw that needs fixing. So, why did I give them a rating of three? Because upon calling the company to lodge a complaint, I talked with a VERY nice, young lady who worked with me to figure out exactly which part I needed. No stalling, no dodging, she took care of business, put my parts on order and all with no charge to me. Her professionalism is the reason why I gave this a 3 star rating. I have found from experience that when a company has a problem with a product, if you call them (and stay courteous) 9 out of 10 times they will do what it takes to make it right. The lady I talked to was named ** and I am hoping that her supervisor sees this email. Again, thank you ** for your help and professionalism. Semper Fidelis.Updated on June 13, 2015: To be fair to KitchenAid, I am following up from a post I made on June 6th. My parts for the top rack wheel assembly arrived and I just finished installing them. I am happy to see that they have modified the wheel assembly actually using a metal plate this time and it looks like more solid connections for the wheels. I will give them a four star for now as I wait to see how well this modification holds up. Thank you KitchenAid for getting the parts to me in a timely manner. Semper Fi **.

We bought this dishwasher a KitchenAid KDTM404ESSO s/n f52302835 last year July 2nd because of the reviews. It was a higher end dishwasher and had great write ups. The dishwasher leaves residue on everything. We called our sales company Home Appliance in Brunswick, Ohio and they told us it is probably clogged. I checked it, it was clear. Called back and they said you are using too much detergent. I asked for a contact number for a rep for KitchenAid and only got the factory phone number. In March or April the motor quit working. We called and they came out and confirmed it and ordered the motor for a warranty replacement. I told the service man about how it doesnt clean anything completely and he said you cant use Cascade. Cascade is what they recommend in the papers that come with the unit. He recommended some other brand which we bought and it still didnt clean the film off all the dishes. He came back out and explained that we were stacking the dishes in the dishwasher wrong and that the bottom rows had to be facing each other and took the top silverware tray out for us (you cant fit 12 dishes in with this in, the wash arms hit it). We did a load with him there and they came out cloudy. He said, Oh, you have to do sani rinse with your wash cause the new dishwashers dont use any water. I said, Thats great but then we would be up to almost two and a half hours to do a load. His reply was that is the way the new dishwashers are, meaning live with it. I would understand a lower end dishwasher doing all this stuff, but this was a $1200 plus installation dishwasher. We do not want this unit anymore at all. We made a mistake thinking it would be as good as our KitchenAid mixers and it isnt on the same planet.

We purchased a French Door KitchenAid Refrigerator model #KFCS22EVMS8, that is just over two years old. It recently started leaking water from the freezer drawer onto the floor on a regular basis. As we have hardwood floors, this is a concern. We called KitchenAid and they ordered a service call, and since our refrigerator was no longer under warranty, we were responsible for the service fee. However, they covered the parts as a one-time goodwill gesture. Well, I discovered from online research that this model has a defective part that has totally been redesigned. The service agent at KitchenAid knew exactly which part to order without really asking me for many details. Even though this defect is totally theirs, they refuse to cover the labor when the problem is no fault of the consumer or due to age of the appliance. It will happen if your refrigerator has been assembled with this defective part, and unless you purchase the extended warranty, the consumer is responsible for the repair. Bad Business!

From the very start it only cleans the dishes if you put them in clean. Salesmen said I could put dirty dishes in. Not unless you want them coming out dirty. Everything has to be thoroughly rinsed before they go in, the regular cycles takes hours to run. So disappointed. I had my first KitchenAid for 15 years and it was quick and cleaned like it should. Repair man said everyone is complaining about the same thing. He had to fix the runners on the upper shelf because they were plastic and cracked. I would replace this in a second if I could afford to throw out the expensive piece of trash that it is. Picture are right after cycle ran, I turned dishes over to show insides for pictures submitted.

I called KitchenAid and purchase extended warranty (my fridge is only 1 year and 2 months old). The warranty is for a year from factory. KitchenAid uses an third party to come diagnose the problem, and they dont even take the time to troubleshoot and fix it. I will never again buy a KitchenAid product. Their business is horrible and they dont give a ** about the consumer. This is unbelievable and Im going on three weeks without my refrigerator being fixed. Every time I call, its a different story. BUYER BEWARE...DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID. I have read the comments made by many people regarding the refrigerators but I have another issue with KitchenAid/Whirlpool. The Plate on the bottom of my electric oven states that the Country of Origin is Canada..I provided the appliance pamphlet and layout information to my service repairman and he noted that that pamphlet said that only US-made models have a fuse so after his inspection determined that the reason the oven was not working was because of the Circuit Board and subsequently ordered. When the part was received and put in, the oven still did not work. The repairman did another detailed inspection and found a fuse and it was blown. The pamphlet specifically states that only US models have a fuse. I will take this matter further to determine what agency regulates mislabeling of Country of Origin. With all the deception detailed by the many complaints by homeowners, there must be a reason why KitchenAid/Whirlpool mislabels the electric ovens and I suspect mislabeling may give some sort of money advantage. In addition, as most of the complaints state, KitchenAid customer service is horrible and when I furnished them with supporting documentation, they would not even try to justify why the Country of Origin was misrepresented or direct me to anyone that could address the problem. The age-old adage, keep on stalling and the complainant will probably give up and go away. If not for the mislabeling, the repair cost me $600 instead of $2 to replace the fuse.

We purchased our top of the line Kitchenaid Gas Range/Oven in 2019. When we use the locking mechanism to lock the electronic panel on the top, it seems to work properly on the oven but it does not lock the range. As a result there have now been many times we brush by the knob for the gas range and it will begin leaking the gas without the ignite. This has happened numerous times even when my cat walks by, or we brush by the stove, unloading groceries. The knob turns slightly and the gas begins to leak. At one time we had the whole room fill up with gas bc we did not know it was on (we believe our cat must have brushed by) and the 12X24 room was filled with gas. I am working with the warranty team but this is a big safety concern for my family of 4 plus 2 pets.

I purchased a KitchenAid side-by-side Refrigerator #KSCS25INSS00 for almost $3000.00 from Sears in 2004 with 5-year service contract. In 2009, I called KitchenAid Repair because of cracks in cavity liner since it was under factory warranty. Serviced by A&E Factory Service, who strongly let it be known that the service charge must be paid regardless to analysis, Serviceman Raymond #** said the repair to the cracks in my refrigerator were cosmetic and would not affect the cooling of the unit. Service was under warranty but the repairman advised against cosmetic repair because it would show as a patched-over look, will not look good and again, would not make a difference in the cooling. I found out this was not so. I began to notice over time that milk, juices, and other foods seemed to be slowly spoiling more than usual. In July 2011, refrigerator was not cooling. I called Sears for service and was put under extreme pressure to purchase smart agreement prior to appointment or pay service charge prior to serviceman sent to my home. I took smart agreement, serviceman #** arrived with computer and wand type device and said that he really didnt know what the problem was but it was probably maybe a leak and seemed to be a sealed system internal problem. He steadily called in to confer with others and after about 2.5 hours, he said he would try to find the leak and the decision about the unit would be up to Kitchenaid. I advised that I had a Kitchenaid warrant on the seal system problem. He advised to give the refrigerated part 12 hours (freezer 24 hours) to adjust and call Sears of any problems and then left. The unit seemed to operate for a day. Ice formed in the freezer but melted down the front of unit. I called Sears immediately that day and could not get an appointment until the next week! Serviceman #** came and was in my home no more than 5 minutes and placed a sticker deemed unit not economical to repair/scrap and said Sears would offer a $500 discount on another unit! I complained that it was not economical for Sears to repair but it was economical for me to spend more money! I reminded him that Kitchenaid warranted that problem and was advised to call them. I called Kitchenaid and was on phone for more that 2.5 hours getting the runaround especially with Customer Experience Team. I spoke with several people about them honoring the warranty on the sealed system repair and was told they would send a serviceman out to check out the unit. Serviceman from A&E turned out to be the same first serviceman from Sears and he refused to return although he was representing Kitchenaid. He said he was not allowed to call Kitchenaid and that I would have to do that myself. I was back on the phone with Kitchenaid Customer Experience for another 3 hours and was being preached by Tammy or Pammy about Tech Teams from Sears and Kitchenaid not reporting my problem. But she said Kitchenaid would stand by their warranty. She finally said she would have a Kitchenaid supervisor contact me and I gave her the best number to contact me which was not followed. The supervisor Denna called a few days later and left a message on my home number, not the preferred number that I have given. Dennas message was that she didnt know what Kitchenaid could do for me and advised that it would be best to take Sears $500 offer but I could call her to discuss it. I left several messages and she never answered or returned my calls to her **. One last attempt with Kitchenaid Customer Experience, I spoke with an assistant Joetta, at the same number, but another extension **. After a lengthy conversation, reminding her that I had a Kitchenaid warranty on this repair, she seemed to agreed to help with the problem and said she would send a team that could help with the situation. She took all the necessary information and promised to get back to me. That was two weeks ago. Nothing. It is apparent that Kitchenaid does not stand by their warranties and do not care about the customers.

I have in the last 3 years have had the refrigerator replaced 2 times. The last was replaced in April and then has once again gone out on me. A refrigerator full of brand new COSTCO groceries completely spoiled. Over $300 of groceries and I was offered $75. To top off the inconvenience of having spoiled food with 3 children they can not fix it for another 5 days. So we are over a week now without a refrigerator and a trash full of groceries. We bought this KitchenAid stainless steel 5-Door French door refrigerator at Best Buy in Nov 2016. After a couple of days of installation, we noticed the freezer frosting, so we went back to Best Buy and requested a replacement. The replacement same model refrigerator was delivered in Dec. In Jan 2017, the same frosting problem occurred. We called Best Buy asking to get it replaced again but told us to call KitchenAid because the purchase date was already over 1 month. Called KitchenAid and asked them if we can just get the refrigerator replaced or get a refund and told them that Ive read a lot of reviews about this refrigerator with freezer frosting and that KitchenAid should have known about this problem already. But KitchenAid customer service lack knowledge. All they know is schedule repairs. From here started the repair process. Theyve sent this repair people several times (6x) already coming up with different ways to fix the problem but the freezer frosting still persist. This last fix that KitchenAid tech support told the repair people is to replace the door and it will take 4-6 wks to get the part. It is very inconvenient. All Im asking KitchenAid is give us a refund since it is new so we can get a good working refrigerator. But all they can do is schedule a repair.

Called KitchenAid/Whirlpool early last week and lo and behold, THEY had the part that was on backorder so I have no idea where the service company is getting their parts from. Parts were sent to the service company 2 day shipping so they SHOULD have received it last Friday (12/18)... At the latest.I called KitchenAid/Whirlpool again on the Tuesday (12/22) since I had not received a scheduling call from the service company. Interestingly enough, the servicing company received the backordered part on SATURDAY (12/19) but had since FAILED to call for a service appointment. Now mind you, this is going into a SECOND MAJOR HOLIDAY without appliances. The service company finally called 30-45 minutes AFTER my call to the manufacturer. I am now scheduled for a repair on January 15 because I refused to take another day off from work (11/30) to accommodate them. I had taken the day off on 12/16 as well. Both appliances 10 months old (actually the refrigerator was 9 months old (delivery date of 2/22)) before failing and 60+ days before repair? Through two MAJOR holidays???

Purchased dishwasher 2 years ago. Very cheaply built. Have had to replace wheels on the rack on numerous occasions along with some other plastic parts. It is no longer working properly. Often have to run it 3 or 4 times before the dishes are clean. Dishes have always been well rinsed before going in. Terrible product from day one. I’ve had KitchenAid appliances for 20 years and will not buy another KitchenAid product. Very disappointed.

I purchased a KitchenAid double oven, microwave and dishwasher between March and April this year. On May 24th, the day school was out for the summer the microwave stopped heating. I called customer service and they said that a replacement would be delivered soon. Called again on 6/5 as nothing had come as promised and was told I was just approved for replacement and that I would get it in another 5 to 7 days. Called today 6/13 and was told the microwave is on backorder and they are not sure when I will get it. No effort to resolve the situation. Other than, I will talk to the expedite board and get back to you in 24 hours. It is ridiculous to go without a microwave that you paid over $600 for and it lasted less than 60 days. I saw that the retailer I purchased the unit from has some in stock and asked the customer service rep to get one from them and get it installed this week. Rep had to get approval for it. Looks like I will get to go yet another week without a microwave. The way it has been going, I will have to call them again to get nowhere. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID!!

We have a KitchenAid Range Hood Microwave model KHMS155LSS-2. It starts and stops on its own. Now, an F2 code is popping up and then PAN. I called Whirpool safety at 800-331-7456. It is a known issue and they are sending the part and someone to fix it free of charge even though I bought the microwave in September 2005. Way to go KitchenAid and Whirlpool!

KSSO Built In Refrigerator - Today I received the word that the computer P/N W10219462 was manufactured in Japan and the tsunami destroyed the factory. The inventory of this computer part is zero. My $8,000 refrigerator just became scrap metal. It is less than 6 yrs. old. If there is a U.S. regulation that parts be maintained for 10 years, why are these not available from another sub-contractor? I am assuming they were defective to begin with or the computer assembly sub-contractor was so shortsighted they neglected to back up the specs. I am waiting to hear from the Whirlpool committee as to their solution or their offer. There is also a problem with a custom cabinet door to be considered. Merry Christmas! 12/15/14
