I believe the adage is true, things just arent made the way they used to make them. Its 4 years old, the wheels pop out of the top track constantly and weve had some problems with leaking. Maintenance was out to fix a problem within 6 months of owning because the motherboard fried. It went almost a year without working through certain commands. For instance: if you wanted to use the normal or heavy wash cycles, forget it, the machine would only run the one hour cycle. Its just been a pain in the butt. However, it is quite quiet. Especially compared to our last dishwasher. Not as quiet as some, but it is sufficiently quieter than I had expected.

Have a two month old microwave that’s broken down twice. Two months old, called KitchenAid multiple times for service. After the last break down we contacted KitchenAid again. We wanted a replacement their defective product. But that is not their KitchenAid’s policy. Their policy’s is to send a repair person out and try to fix their mistakes. That’s until it’s out of their “1” year warranty. “DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY”. Forgot to mention, KitchenAid has a very rude customer service department. You can hear them snickering at you when you’re on the phone trying to get help. -- Don, a certified multi KitchenAid appliance buyer. Never again.

We bought our KUDS301XWH6 dishwasher in the spring of 2012, and we have had nothing but trouble. Two wheels on the top rack have broken off, and the control panel only works when it wants to. Even flipping the switch on the circuit breaker doesnt work most of the time. Like others, we bought this *more expensive* machine because we wanted to buy an American-made product, and because we grew up with KitchenAid dishwashers that lasted, problem-free, for decades. KitchenAid is coasting on the reputation earned many years ago, but their reputation will change as more people learn of their current line of shoddy, overpriced products. We will never buy a KitchenAid product again.

My family bought this range as it was one of the few gas stove downdraft ranges that could be installed in the middle of an island. It is pretty in our island but it is a TERRIBLE and I mean TERRIBLE range. The oven cooks uneven so dont even thinking about trying to bake anything. Over the holiday, the only way I could get by without burning the food was to place the thickest part of the leg of lamb towards the back. Not to mention that it probably takes about 30 minutes to even get the oven to 350 degree heat. It is ridiculous that something this expensive would perform so poorly. To top this off, the self cleaning function does not work.I decided to use regular oven cleaner and that was a big mistake. Now the inside of the oven is peeling. I contacted Kitchenaid to see if it was safe to cook and their representatives are basically robots and would not provide me with an answer or anyone else who could help, they just kept repeating we dont suggest harsh oven cleaning products. I think 450 degree heat is pretty harsh, so how can an oven cleaner be worst? HUGE disappointment overall and would not recommend or ever purchase a Kitchenaid product again.

It is an average refrigerator with ice bucket in the door. However, the ice in bucket always clumps. Also, it is difficult to keep dust and dirt off the grill underneath the refrigerator due to tight distance between grill and floor space. It is hard to regulate the temperature controls for the vegetable bins. After cleaning the dirt and fuzz from the grill at bottom of the refrigerator there was a noise.

I purchased a Kitchenaid dishwasher model KUDC031V on 2-15-10 for the price of $535.43. After owning this appliance for over a year and after much frustration, I feel compelled to voice my disappointment with this product. I personally have owned my last 3 Kitchenaid dishwashers and have always felt extremely happy with the product, however this is the worst appliance I have ever owned. I do not expectations from you. Just wanted to let you know how displeased I have been. This product does not clean dishes in the upper rack as well as on the bottom, it also is the noisiest I have ever heard. I will be replacing it with a Bosch, never again to deal with Kitchenaid.

Kitchen Aid used to be the best out there. Now they are worse than GE. Since buying my Kitchen Aid appliances in 2014 I have had nothing but problems with each piece. My compressor has gone out of my refrigerator twice, The dishwasher top racks just disintegrated, the microwave plate cracked within a week and now my oven wont work. When I go to preheat it, the message reads That function is not available. I am replacing every piece after the first of the year and I will never buy kitchen aid again. Company could care less and when you call to ask what could be wrong they want to get a credit card so you can be charged for their help. Very embarrassed I even have Kitchen Aid in my home. Not respectable, well built appliances anymore.

I bought a KitchenAid refrigerator on 5/30/11. The divider between the 2 crisper drawers has broken 3 times. It is now out of warranty but even if I had purchased an extended warranty, I was told that its purely cosmetic and would not be covered. I am unable to use my crisper drawers, but was told it is strictly a cosmetic issue! In 2011, I replaced my microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher with KitchenAid products. I will never purchase another KitchenAid product again. I would have even been willing to pay the difference in price to replace the refrigerator as obviously, this one is defective. But I could not get past Your problem is merely a cosmetic one.

We have a Kitchenaid KUDI01FLSS2 dishwasher. It came with the house we purchased six years ago - the unit was about 1 year old at the time. We have had constant problems: touch panel failed ($200), control board failed ($250), heater element failed which required a heater control board upgrade (design defect) ($250), chopper failed three times ($30 ea), door hinges failed, numerous plastic interior parts failed (all are overpriced), the door latch has a fundamental design problem (we have to use a clamp to keep the door from popping open in cycle). I am an engineer and was able to do all the repairs myself which saved hundreds of additional dollars. The dishwasher is a $1000 piece of junk. I would have scrapped in early on if I had only known!

We have the professional series KitchenAid package. The oven is incredible. Its also a convection oven also, which is like having a giant air fryer. Say bye bye to fryers forever. All food in convection cooking or normal cooking is always cooked perfectly. As a matter of fact if you have a recipe that you have to keep checking on with this oven that no longer exists. This cooks to the exact time specified. I would buy this oven or recommend this oven over and over again.

I purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator in 2013, stainless steel model #KFIS29BBMSOO. Ive had numerous problems with it, many service calls. The first was the hose in the freezer splitting, which took 5 service calls to figure out, costing me for each one. Finally they said it was a recall item and I should not have had to pay. It was difficult to get my money back from the service people, took months. Now there is ice building up behind the drawers in the refrigerator, blocking the vent. There is about 2 of ice built up so the drawers do not close completely. Everything in the drawers freezes. When I called repair people suggested by Whirlpool. As soon as they heard the model number they refused to come. I called Whirlpool again, they said they have never heard of any problems like this, however, when I read all of the reviews listed here there are a lot of problems with these refrigerators. The repair guys said KitchenAid is one of the worst brands now, made so poorly, but so expensive. They finally found me a repairman, he is about 5 hours away, I told them he is not close, they said he probably knows someone closer to me, however the call is from 8:00-5:00, I have to wait. This has been so frustrating. I purchased 7 appliances at the same time, I did a remodel on my kitchen. My dishwasher failed after one year, the motor actually fell on the floor, it slow leaked onto my wood floors doing $40,000. damage, cabinets had to be pulled out walls repaired, took 5 months. KitchenAid would do nothing. The motor was not installed right at the factory, they tried to blame it on the installers. Im fed up with KitchenAid, would never recommend it to anyone. I just cant believe they dont worry about their reputation.

We purchased nine top-of-line KitchenAid built-in refrigerators for the premium units in a condo development. A circuit board failed on the first unit after 6 years. We replaced the circuit board (at significant expense) and the unit seemed to work fine... for awhile. Then, two more circuit boards failed in other units but this time circuit boards were not available, reportedly due to the tsunami in Japan. There was no support from KitchenAid or Standard TV & Appliance in Portland, OR - out of warranty they said. We finally found a company that rebuilt circuit boards (very expensive). One of those has since failed and we are awaiting another. Still no help from the dealer or KitchenAid. If you are buying a refrigerator, find another supplier and dealer.

I loved the way this fridge keeps produce fresh. However, several months after the warranty expired the ice maker quit working. Service man (recommended by appliance store) replaced it but did not fix the problem. They then replaced the compressor, evaporator, and valves. Quit working again. Now they say that it is a sensor (or a board) and needs to be ordered but will take 1-2 weeks. Ive lost two full freezers loads full of frozen food because the freezer temperature wont go below 30 degrees. Repair man stated that this model has 6 boards that can go wrong and often do. Today, ice maker is not producing ice again! Have another call into serviceman. This is the most expensive ($3,700) and the most problematic refrigerator that Ive ever owned. Am looking for a new refrigerator and am sure that it will NOT be a Kitchenaid.

Its a beautiful piece of junk! I bought Stainless steel model #KGRA806PSS on January 2006. The first service call was on January 2007; second on January 2008; third on April 2008. Of course, my fourth service call is now past the 5 year warranty. The igniter would click forever and then go out. Three times Ive had the electronic replaced. Oven would preheat, come to temperature then would lose heat and never reheat past 275. I didnt dare use the self-cleaning feature after reading the horror stories of glass shattering or doors locking or burning the electric board out. Anyways, we called KitchenAid and after being told that they never have had complaints about this range, we told them that they should try looking at the complaints registered online. Well, since this would be the fourth service call about the same problem, they would send a service technician out and if its the same problem, they would pro rate a new stove. The service technician just called and said that hes on the way out and did you know that there is a $135 service charge? No, I will not pay the service call, after all Kitchenaid called and set up the call and Im not paying another dime on this $1500 money pit!Buyer beware. KitchenAid is no longer a customer friendly company and they do not stand behind their product. If they resolve this, I will report back but as my husband is on the phone and it doesnt sound promising, you probably will not be hearing anything more on this piece of junk!

We purchased a KitchenAid French Door refrigerator for $3000. So far we have spent over $1000 in repairs. Now it needs a “seal system”! I have asked for a new refrigerator but I have been told that Kitchen Aid will not replace it “until” it is unrepairable! Do you believe they want me to keep putting more money in repairs! I’ll give it to the scrap yard before I sink any more money into this defective product! They did offer a replacement for $2000! Can you actually believe they would think I would buy another defective product! Every time a technician comes to “diagnosis” the problem they charge me $100! Funny thing - my neighbor has the exact same one and hers is doing the exact same thing. Apparently, these expensive appliances are pieces of junk! My wife and I purchased KitchenAid appliances for our home thinking that these would be quality products and something that would last with the least problems. Also, we have received good service from their company reps. As with various KitchenAid models, there seems to be issues with the self-clean mode on the ovens. The first time we tried to use the self-clean mode, it locked up after about an hour and would not release nor would our oven operate. We called for service and we chose only the 1-year warranty so ours was out of warranty. It became a costly repair of about $300.00 to replace a burned-out thermostat. After repair, about a month later, we tried to clean it again and the same occurred. This time, I researched on the Internet for the schematics and I replaced the same thermostat for $50.00 myself. The stove did work and freed up but we still cannot use the self-clean mode. What is the sense of paying for quality products and paying for features you cannot use? KitchenAid says there is nothing they will do as no recall has been issued. Can this also become a danger to use in our home? Needless to say, we also have problems with our ice maker on our KitchenAid refrigerator which is also out of warranty. The problem here is the ice cubes get hung up in the maker and stops making ice as it is hung up. Who wants to check this every day?

Ill try to keep my comment short. We built our house two years ago; and all new Kitchen Aid appliances were bought. I have no complaint with any of them (refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher) except for the range. I have had difficulties on occasion when the oven would not preheat. However, my biggest complaint is with the Aqualift self-cleaning feature. It doesnt work well at all. I dont want to scrape, scrub, reach into the oven to clean. Im getting too old for that. I truly would not recommend this type of range to anyone unless they want a workout cleaning the oven.

We built a new home in the Rio Grande Valley in 2005. Since we had previously remodeled our home in Irving, Texas using KitchenAid products which gave excellent service, we assumed we could rely on newer models to do the same. This was a mistake. We installed a stainless steel oven/microwave combination (Model No: KEHC309KSS 05, Serial No: XS060040 57). The microwave door springs continually break and the light bulb burns out regularly. The product requires a service call every year. It requires two men to change the microwave light bulb because the whole unit has to be pulled from the cabinet. One man must hold the unit while the second replaces the bulb. Even though the service people are told they must send two men, they seldom comply, requiring the scheduling of a second service call. If we did not continually purchase extended warranties, there would be no way to keep the product operable. After reading all of the posted complaints, we are now afraid to use the self-cleaning part of the actual oven. This was a poorly designed product which never should have been marketed in the first place. After a two page letter listing the number of service calls and the problems, we received a call from KitchenAid stating they had received the letter, had no record of any previous complaints and were relaying the information to their engineers. It sounded as though there would be no follow-up and no effort to resolve the complaint. Its amazing that a company can continue in business with so many complaints against it by relying on past reputation. We would never recommend a KitchenAid product again.

We built a new home and purchased all new appliances, including a very expensive KitchenAid dishwasher. The electronics burn out (and nearly cause a fire) after seven months. Kitchen Aid does not support its own product but relies on unreliable subcontractors. After already waiting for repairs for two weeks, now we are told the parts are not available. Frankly, I do not want a defective dishwasher to be defectively repaired. So far, KitchenAid will not honor our requests for a new dishwasher. This is poor product support and customer service. I purchased a Refrigerator/Freezer in 2012 for my cottage from a local dealer. Over the last year Ice has built up in the freezer floor and then there is water leakage. I would get rid of the ice build up and then no leakage for a short time and then it would start all over again. In the meantime the floor and side wall of the kitchen which housed the fridge became damaged. I called the dealer and they tried to give some things to do which did not work. Eventually we got the dealer out and they came with a new valve and installed a P trap drain tube. Apparently Whirlpool have known of this problem and never let any of their consumers know.As we are on an Island it cost us a lot of money to get a repairman out to replace this piece. I called Whirlpool and they did not want to discuss it and dissuade they could have sent me a replacement but would not pay for the cost of the work to replace the valve even though they knew for years that there was a problem with this part. I will never again get anything made by Whirlpool.

Even though we have a luxury KitchenAid model, the drawers dont fit, the ice maker freezes up regularly and the whole unit just feels cheap. Even our builder does not use KitchenAid anymore. I purchased a Kitchen Aid two-drawer dishwasher in 2009. This has been the biggest problem appliance I have ever purchased. I am glad I paid for the extended warranty because the techs have been out every 90 days maybe more and they know my address for the same problem that keeps happening. It is the Bizel that are located in the top and bottom drawers, that continue to break... AND when they do if the dishwasher is not monitored, it causes water to leak all over my hardwood floors that are ruining them. The warranty company informed me that if it is not a major component, they will not replace the unit. Obviously, this is a major component as if this component breaks you cannot run the dishwasher?? So, how can Kitchen Aid determine that this is not a major component. This was an expensive dishwasher and also you cannot fit any regular sized plates because they do not fit...so we have to eat off of appetizer plates. I will never buy a Kitchen Aid appliance ever again. Kitchen Aid needs to resolve this problem or I am taking this issue to attorneys that I work for. One really unhappy Kitchen Customer!

I own a KitchenAid gas range Mod. KGSS907SSS01. Its only eight yrs old and I’ve only had problems since I got it from self-cleaning (which I decided not use this future anymore) because I was just wasting my money every time I use I had the same black down and paid for repairs, oven that doesn’t heat up or is inconsistent to cheap top insert elements the brick easily (i.e. insert for large left burner) it just fell apart while cleaning... I would not recommend anyone to buy this model thinking you are getting top of line. PLEASE STAY AWAY!When I contact Whirlpool for help or tip on how to replace parts myself they rudely offer me to contact their tech repair person to come to my place and basically ** me financially with high prices to repair my unit that is all I’m left with. I feel I paid high price for this unit and I expect to get better response from Manufacture since they are aware of the issues with this range. I’ve come across many complaints about this model As I searched for solution on web. Again, stay away from KitchenAid/Whirlpool ranges.

I attempted to cook a baked potato in our KitchenAid over the range microwa
I attempted to cook a baked potato in our KitchenAid over the range microwave (KHMS2040WSS). Please note that using the sensor setting was nothing new to me, I have used the Baked Potato sensor setting many times before with good results. This last time though went horribly wrong, the potato wasnt baked when I returned, it was charred to a black ash. It wasnt even recognizable as a potato. The microwave safe dinner plate that it was on had cracked into pieces and started to adhere to the glass rotating dish. The rotating glass dish itself fractured right at the center and the plastic pivot almost entirely melted. The white interior was stained dark gray with smoke soot. I called Sears because the microwave is only 11 months old. Sears sent out an appliance specialist from A&E Service. The A&E technician performed a few tests and found the appliance was working properly and had not malfunctioned. The finding was that it was my fault as the consumer. My next call was to Whirlpool customer service at 1-800-253-1301. They were unable to help for two days because no report from A&E was available. Finally on day three, the office at 1-800-253-1301 called A&E and got the report. Then the Whirlpool representative stated they were not going to assist because it was found that the potato caught on fire not the microwave. I asked for a supervisor and was transferred to another office (I know it was another office because the toll free number changed to 1-866-640-7146). At any rate, after an hour long call which truly amounted to wheel spinning, the supervisor agreed to call A&E again to see if any other options were available. Much later that same day, he left a voice mail stating that Whirlpool would help with the cost of parts. Ugh, I am so upset! The microwave is virtually new and I didnt choose how long to cook the potato, it was supposed to sense this and cook it accordingly. I have had $99 microwaves perform for years without incident. Then you really think that you are doing yourself a favor by branding up to KitchenAid and paying the extra cash for nothing. Has anyone else had this experience where the sensor setting overcooking something to the point of charring, smoke, fire etc? Have you contacted Whirlpool and if so, with what result? I feel that they should at minimum fully restore the microwave for no cost. Optimally, I would like to have a new microwave or a full reimbursement.

I have never been treated more poorly by a company in the United States. I was sold a stove with a defective cooling mechanism and ever since it has caused me hell. KitchenAid outsources all of their repairs to Whirlpool who has DESTROYED my $1500 stove in order to fix the fan. They have forced me to stay home from work for over 2 weeks worth of time due to repairs caused by the previous repair damage that theyve caused. Every time they leave I find another rookie mistake that has caused additional damage. I am FED up with this company and will never buy from them again. They refused to provide me a new stove when asked. I have had it. Still waiting on someone to come back out and fix the last damage theyve caused.

Refrigerator Model KSC23C8EYY03 just a year old. Problem with ice forming behind bottom drawer in refrigerator section. Needs a new fan and thermistor. After waiting for parts and then put on the service schedule, the repairman came but had the wrong part. Now, again waiting for the part and to be put on the service schedule. Without a refrigerator for three weeks. Also, the fan is encased in styrofoam held together by tape. No wonder there is a problem. Also the reviews for the repair company sent by KitchenAid were not favorable. I found this out firsthand.Updated on 03/10/2016: In August I had ice built up behind the drawers in the bottom of the refrigerator. KitchenAid replaced the fan and thermistor. Seven months later, same problem. KitchenAid denied any problems with these parts.

During the cleaning, my oven glass exploded! Also, we have just spent $200 to have the microwave door repaired and this is the second time in five years! This time, it almost fell off. My sister has a KitchenAid and her microwave door did the same thing. Our repairman said he sees this all the time with KitchenAid. The oven glass flew everywhere in the oven. This is unacceptable. I so wish I had gone with another oven. This is ridiculous.

I contacted KitchenAid customer support during January 2012. I had bought a KitchenAid Microwave KHHC2090SWH in February 2011. It had suddenly decided out of the blue to stop working. I had contacted a repair technician and they agreed to pay for his visit. It is now March 14, and after 4 visits, the technician has been unable to fix the problem. He has now removed it from my home and even though I have had to contend with the absence of a microwave for almost 2 months, left me nothing to use in the meantime and no promise that it will be fixed only the confirmation that the company will almost never replace a defective product.I am so sorry that I decided on a KitchenAid and I will certainly let everyone and sundry know about my problems with the KitchenAid Microwave. I am at a loss as to what to do next. It seems like I am just trying to fly against the wind.

I purchased a resale home with existing KitchenAid appliances (four years old). In the short time I lived in my new home, I have seen multiple issues that doesnt seem normal to me. During cooking and when self-cleaning the oven, all the sensors turn off automatically including the clock and will turn back on its own after about an hour. It almost seem like the stove is overloaded even with one burner on. It shut the fan and all of the buttons on--the touch screen also stopped functioning. On 12/30/2011, while making dinner, the oven light came on and I cant turn it off. When I pressed the turn off button, it beeps and wouldnt turn the light off. It has been three hours and the light is still on and this concerns me very much as this is a safety issue for my family. I unplugged the stove and plugged it back in but the light is still on.

I am very disappointed with Kitchenaid. Our dishwasher was purchased and installed 18 months ago. Our use of the dishwasher was very light, maybe using it 2-3 times per week. We were also very careful to remove excess food from the dishes before putting into the machine. After 18 months, the dishes were not getting clean. A repairman came to assess and found that the motor/pump needed replacement. The cost of the visit was 98.79. To repair the machine would be an additional 364.00 plus taxes. It is ridiculous that Kitchenaid is producing such poor quality appliances which are essentially disposable landfill objects and will not take responsibility. Their warranties (very limited) are only good for 1 year from purchase.

A week later replaces electric control board. Two months later evaporator frozen again. A week later repair man comes out, yes evaporator broken, must order parts. A couple weeks later repair man replaces circuit board. Seven months later evaporator freezes up again. A week later repair guy shows up, yes it is broken. Will need to order parts. It has now been almost three weeks and still waiting on parts. In between waiting for the repair guy or on parts, I have had to unload the refrigerator and manually defrost it every 1-2 weeks. KitchenAid had a very good reputation once upon a time. Apparently they are now getting their parts from the lowest bidder, most likely China. One other reviewer said KitchenAid refrigerators has over 3,000 parts backordered.

Extremely dissatisfied with the KitchenAid product, warranty and customer service. I contacted them Feb. 5th 2015 to inquire as to the procedure to resolve an issue with the door of my microwave not opening. After a considerable time of answering questions, I was told that my unit was no longer covered under warranty. I then expressed the following info to the KitchenAid representative and offered copies of documentation:1/31/2014: Ordered 1/31/2014: Deposit $5412.50 4/22/2014: $3252.91 final pay 5/15/2014: Appliances delivered 1/16/2015: Moved in 1/19/2015: Microwave installed by Vassar Electric 2/05/2015: Door would not openYour representative stated that it did not matter, KitchenAid’s warranty is based on date of purchase (1/31/2014), not date of deliver (May 15, 2014) or the date of installation (1/19/2015). We were told by C&D Appliance that we had a deadline to order or the price would go up. We explained to them that we would not need the appliances for several months as the house was under total remodel. They said no problem as they would store them until we were ready so all the appliances were ordered at the same time and stored at C&D Appliance warehouse. We get a call one day that they needed to deliver the appliances as they need more room in their warehouse so we stored them in our shop area. Little did we know at the time of purchase that the warranties started on the day we ordered them which was also the date of invoice. It cost me $660.33 to use the microwave for 21 days. I also have no warranty on the KitchenAid dishwasher, the Jenn-Air cook stove and the Jenn-Air refrigerator, all of which are product lines of the Whirlpool Corporation. Adding insult to injury, I filed a product review with KitchenAid that they REFUSED to post!

Im on a mission to let everyone know how much KitchenAid sucks. They obviously have no quality control on their production. They have no ethics about making a quality product. About 8 years ago, we upgraded our kitchen and bought all new KitchenAid appliances. Since then, every appliance has had issues. Microwave (KHMS155LSS), weve had to replace the face plates (all of them) at least once because the cheap plastic latches broke. Dishwasher (KUDS01FLSS), the spring holding the door has broken twice so that the door flies open and bruises any body parts in the way. Hand mixer (Classic Plus 5), less than 1 year after purchasing, one of the beaters separated (has been fine since we replaced it though). Stand mixer (KSM9O), the cover over the motor doesnt stay close and easily pulls open if you touch it. Oven/Stove (Superba Range), the final straw, I was baking potatoes tonight and the oven shut off and locked shut with my potatoes inside. I cannot open the door. I tried all the things I saw on the internet and its still locked with my potatoes inside. Im going to replace it with a non-KitchenAid appliance ASAP!

I spent $2,300 at Arts Appliances In North Haven, Ct, for a Slide-n electric range and microwave that were shipped direct from the factory. They were so called professionally installed. The time we used them the range emitted a loud pop and a flash which blew the breaker. The cause was a disconnected burner wire that shorted out on the chassis. Evidently the wire was never connected at the factory, an oversight that could have caused a house fire. We also quickly discovered that the lamp in the microwave above the range did not work.Arts sent us a couple of replacement bulbs. It took all my strength and care to remove the bulb which I discovered had been silicone sealed into the bulb socket. Its incredible that no one discovered these defects during the in assembly process or in Quality Control. Two major appliance shipped to the same consumer and both were defective. Adding insult to injury it took days to reach the factory claim center and days for a tech to arrive. The store owners insisted that I had to resolve the problem with the factory.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher Child Hazard Causes Damage To Cabinetry: I purchased
Kitchenaid Dishwasher Child Hazard Causes Damage To Cabinetry: I purchased new KitchenAid Proline KUDE40SPX3 to match our Wolf/Sub-Zero equipment. After several months, we noticed our cabinetry adjacent to the dishwasher was starting to warp and peel paint. We initially believed that the cabinetry was defective. Then one evening, our little 3-year-old screamed in horror from the kitchen. She had a burn on her face and said the dishwasher did it. We then noticed the steam coming from the side vent of the unit. The louvers are positioned so that the steam under pressure is directed downward. However, since the vent is adjacent to the kitchen cabinetry, the steam not only hits the cabinetry but is directed in front of the dishwasher. Most dishwashers have the vent at the top of front door lip, which directs the steam up and away from the front of the dishwasher. I notified KitchenAid Customer Service. Their first response was that the unit was 1 month out of warranty and they referred me back to Pacific Sales where I purchased an extended warranty. Pacific Sales extended warranty department stated that the defect was a manufacturer defect and not an electrical or mechanical defect and directed me back to KitchenAid. KitchenAid then agreed to send a service rep out and would cover any parts and/or labor to repair the defect, including any venting kit. They also said that the manual has a disclosure about the side venting; however, I pointed out there is no such disclosure and no special instructions with regards to steam being emitted out the side/front and being a potential hazard to children and surrounding cabinetry. KitchenAids factory repair rep came and observed the defect and notated such back to KitchenAid. Then, KitcheAaid took the position that it was not responsible since it was no longer within the 12-month warranty period.

Two years ago we were renovating our kitchen and took out an old dishwasher that we had been using for 15 years. Still worked great but was very loud. We were looking for something quiet and it was a toss up between the KitchenAid and a Bosch. Sales guy steered us toward a high end KitchenAid, top of the line model, over $2000. What a piece of garbage. Within a couple of months we had control panel problems, then I noticed a huge stain on the cabinetry and called repair. Pulled the dishwasher out and it was leaking around all the screws that hold the racks in on the outside. Completely destroyed the cabinetry and that had to be replaced at our cost. Since then it’s been broke down three more times with electrical problems. It’s cost me at least half the value of the dishwasher and needs more repairs. I think I’m just going to pull it out and get a Bosch. What was I thinking... a BMW or a Pinto. Don’t buy a KitchenAid, they are garbage.

Frustrated and disappointed with KitchenAid regarding refrigerator model number KSC23C8EYY03 bought new in October 2014. Purchased refrigerator in October 2014 for residential use. In May 2016, owners observed ice accumulation behind the crisper drawers of the refrigerator. Items in fridge were not being cooled to appropriate temperature and freezer cold but not adequately freezing contents. Not under warranty at that time, owners called a local service company to review situation and a part was replaced.Owner then purchases a warranty, which was enacted in September 2016 when the same issue presented itself. Since then KitchenAid warranty has been called - February 2017, July 2017, October 2017, February 2018 and now April 26, 2018 - all for the same issue. The refrigerator is essentially inoperable during each service request every 2-5 months, resulting in food spoilage and loss of money. Owners are aware of the Lemon Law, however, there is no recognition on KitchenAid Warranty’s part on customer frustration regarding the investment of money into a product that has simply proven 6 times over that it does not work. It wasn’t until speaking with a KitchenAid Warranty supervisor today (April 2018) that owner was informed about the option of filing a food loss claim (again, after dealing with KitchenAid Warranty 5 times since September 2016). We again are having the refrigerator serviced, with the expectation that any repair would prove fruitless, a part will be replaced that won’t get us closer to a Lemon Law review, and resulting in a temporary fix that would need to again be serviced in 3 months time. The service repair technician who has serviced the unit all 6 times is equally frustrated that the solutions given to them by KitchenAid Warranty does not fully resolve the situation.

We purchased a KitchenAid because of the reputation and as you can see, we are extremely unhappy with this appliance. Today, I called again as this is the fourth time the refrigerator is not working properly and again, I was told that you do not offer exchanges on appliances even though I have had 4 service calls for the same problem; 2 in the first year of purchase and 2 in the second. I purchased my KitchenAid Architect Series appliances in June of 2013, from Harrys Discounts Appliance. Unfortunately, dealing with this issue is the biggest headache I ever had. On delivery, the stove looked like it was dropped from the top of a building. The driver said, Please keep it and we will give you a great discount. I informed the driver to return the range and deliver a stove to me with no damage. We examined all the other appliances and they appeared to be undamaged. At the time, my house was under construction and we were not able to have the appliances installed until the contractor put up walls and re-built the kitchen. Upon installation, we didnt realize the Microwave was damaged. Once installed, the light, exhaust fan, timer and clock all were working, so we would assume that the microwave was functioning. However the microwave does not power on. I called KitchenAid for service. At first, they refused to take the call because it was over 30 days. I then called again, and they sent Dan Marc Appliance Repair Company to service the microwave. As per the repairman, parts needed to be ordered. When they returned, a new door was installed and the technician heated a bottle for 10 seconds and it did work. That was the first and last time the microwave functioned properly. After the one time use, I was cleaning the inside of the microwave and I cut my finger on separated metal. I called KitchenAid again; I was told to unplug the unit and they would send service repair, once again. When the repair technician came, he took pictures of the microwave and called KitchenAid. When I followed up I was told that they were going to send A& E Appliance Repair. On the day of service, A&E called and said unless we pay for the service call, they will not be able to repair the Microwave, which I refused to pay.I called KitchenAid again and based on the pictures and information that the repair tech took, I was told that it was determined the microwave could not be repaired and that it would be replaced. They also stated I would receive a follow-up call in 5 days, and no one contacted me. I called again only to be told that it was more than 30 days and it was damaged and would not be replaced.Let move on to the Refrigerator. This required repair service to address this issue four times with over a dozen customer service calls. The refrigerator has an ice buildup issue in the freezer and water lies on the freezer drawer. Due to this, we were not able to open the freezer door at all. I then called KitchenAid and they sent a service repair technician for this issue. After the repair was supposedly complete, I opened the refrigerator to find water & ice cycles hanging from the top of the refrigerator. After one of the repairs, I called to tell them about the water in the Refrigerator. Customer Service transferred me to a special department that was handling this issue. I was informed that KitchenAid has been aware of the problem and parts need to be designed to correct the problem. Apparently, KitchenAid is aware about this issue even before these appliances were sold. Meaning, Kitchen Aid knowingly sells faulty products to consumers. So when the parts were ready for installation I would receive a call. I was told to keep a towel handy to wipe up the water. This is absolutely unacceptable. For one of Kitchen Aids newest line of appliances I shouldnt have to keep a towel handy for anything, especially brand new products. The refrigerator has had repair visits on August 12, 26, September 16, 30, October 12. I called again for service on October 15, 2013 and I have not heard from the repair company. Unfortunately, I am still having the same problem. As for the stove, the grates on the range top are turning gray, the burns, caps & top are not able to come clean. Once again KitchenAid will not do anything because the product is more than 30 days old. The appliances I threw away that were 20 years old functioned better and were more reliable than these new Kitchen Aid appliances.I am incredibly frustrated at this entire process and have been dealing this issue for over two and half months. For a brand new line of appliances from what supposedly is a trustworthy company I have spent countless hours on the phone with customer service and days waiting for repair technicians to fix my appliances. Yet, nothing is functioning properly.I have spent over $4000 of my hard-earned money and waited over 25 years to re-do my kitchen and all I truly want is appliances that are reliable and function correctly. I am hoping that someone can help me; all I want is what I pay for working appliances. Please dont hesitate to contact me if you need any additional information. Thanking you in advance.

I purchase a KitchenAid Built-in Microwave Model KMBS104ESS02 in 2017. In January of 2020 it wasnt heating and of course our warranty was no longer valid. My husband has worked on microwaves before. He tested the Magnetron, Diode and High Voltage Capacitor and purchased all three new and installed in March of 2020. It worked for approximately 1 1/2 months and went again. He purchased the same parts again on May 20, 2020 costing another $263.27 totalling $526.54 to repair. This lasted through June. He called KitchenAid and was told that it is probably the motherboard and too expensive to replace just get rid of it. So we paid approximately $1,000.00 for the microwave new and spent $526.54 on repairing totalling $1,526.54 and was told to get rid of it. Great customer service response. My husband was so upset he threw it out and purchased a new Frigidaire for 1/3 the cost of the Kitchenaid. How sad is that. I am attaching one of the receipts from May 20,2020 cannot find other receipt. My husband pick up parts from Appliance Parts in Old Bridge NJ in March.

This KitchenAid refrigerator requires constant repairs... several times a year. It is only two years old... All of the parts in the refrigerator have been replaced now... it worked for a few months and now its broken again and we have been waiting for weeks for parts. Using the refrigerator as an icebox. Changing ice bags twice a day. I am done with this thing.

How can 40 minutes of steam clean an oven, especially when the inside is warm to the touch after this time! There has got to be some sort of oven cleaner that will work on this self clean oven. Also ceramic top very hard to clean. HATE HATE HATE THIS OVEN!!!

I bought the refrigerator in Sept. 2013. Within 7 days the Ice Maker didnt work. They replaced it right away. Since it was winter I didnt use the ice in the door. The water worked fine. I called in April to have it repaired. After 7 repair appointments, they replaced the ice maker again, the Door was replaced and the flipper door. After all these issues and I had to yell and scream to get them to replace it. I was just told they would call me on Monday to replace it. Since my kitchen cabinets were installed just before the refrigerator I hope it fits.

I purchased this french door refrigerator with a water dispenser inside the refrigerator 6 months ago. The first problem was the gasket around the freezer was not sealing so there was ice buildup in the freezer. The next problem was the door hinge was not installed correctly so the refrigerator doors were not sealing. Now there is water dripping between the 2 doors. Whirlpool purchased KitchenAid & I have heard the KitchenAid quality has since decreased. I believe the product should work. 3 problems with a brand new refrigerator tells me something else will most likely break. Im disgusted that Whirlpool wont just replace this defective refrigerator. If I wanted to take a chance on the refrigerator breaking, I would have bought used.

I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator in April 2012 for $$$. So you know I had a Kenmore for 22 years that this KitchenAid was replacing and I actually sold the Kenmore for $50 because it still worked perfectly. I figured KitchenAid was a top of the line appliance. Ice maker went out within 13 months and after several calls I got them to cover parts and labor to fix it, but thats not the complaint here. Fast forward to 2016. In May 2016 the whole unit shut down and after several calls into CS found out it was my sealed system that went out and it was covered. It took a while to get my money back though. The day before Christmas 2016 my refrigerator went out. Long story short, I called the authorized KA service provider to come back out and they told me it would $450 to repair (again, 3rd major repair in 4 1/2 years while the 2nd major repair in 2016). After receiving the estimate I called KitchenAid CS to talk to them about this but their systems were down and couldnt help me and told me to call back the next day. Not thinking because I had a house full of kids on Christmas break from college I figured I would call back once I got back to work this week. Once I got a hold of someone from KA she told me KA would cover the parts only which I was ok with. She told me she would call the authorized repair company and get it worked out. I told her I already had it repaired because I had gone a week without a refrigerator anyway. KitchenAid wont reimburse a customer, just an authorized repair company. What a piece of ** company. Every time I contact KA they tell me the same thing. Appliances are meant to last forever and they never promised me that. I have another 20 year old GE refrigerator in my garage thats worked perfectly that whole time and I spent like $500 on it. This was my first and MY LAST KitchenAid/Whirlpool purchase.

Last year I remodeled my kitchen & all new KitchenAid appliances were installed - to the tune of over $16,000. The 36 single wall oven alone cost over $3000. After I used the clean function (for the first time) - the oven wouldnt heat. They sent out a repairman who fixed it. A few months later, I used the clean function again (for the 2nd time) - same thing happened. And now, 1 month after the warranty expired, its happened again. Same problem all three times & yet after a long call to them today, KitchenAid refused to do anything! In a year, I probably used that oven less than a dozen times. Needless to say, I wont be recommending them to anyone. And btw, the repair service they sent obviously didnt know what they were doing, because as I now know, the problem was never solved.

KitchenAid Aqualift model KGRS306BSS - This is by FAR the worst oven I have
KitchenAid Aqualift model KGRS306BSS - This is by FAR the worst oven I have ever had the misfortune of purchasing. Where to begin...? The glass door has condensation build up between the outer and inner panes. The oven heat vents through the FRONT of the oven door right below the gas burner knobs which makes them hot and difficult to use when both oven and burners are in use. The gas cooktop itself has so many indentations that cleaning spills/residue is a multi-towel project by itself not to mention the materials used to make the cooktop hold on to residue like Ive never seen. Theres another oven heat vent at the rear of the cooktop below the control panel for the oven which can heat up the key pad above it. When the oven is in use for prolonged baking (think turkey), the rear right burner gets hot when not in use. If I could shout it from the rooftops I would tell the world not to buy this oven and to forget about KitchenAid all together as an appliance brand.

My three-year-old twin-door freezer is giving me many headaches and nobody seems to know what is going on or how to fix it. The problem is that about every two weeks, it freezes a cold air passage between the freezer and the refrigerator, blocking it with solid ice, causing it to make a stronger noise than normal and finally going into over temperature alarm since the refrigerator keeps going up in temperature. We have had the visit of two factory-trained technicians to try to remedy this problem but to no avail. Any clues???

Upon baking a heavenly apple pie for desert, (we live in the Okanagan Valley of BC) the well stuffed pie spilled over during baking. After the range cooled off, we set the self clean oven on. The next day, we proceeded to wipe the residue with a damp cloth and we noticed that the oven base was badly pitted. We reported this damage to the manufacturer (1-800-807-6777) and it went on deaf ears. Our range is only four months old. Burnt sugar will pit all porcelain surfaces, we were told. That is not so!! We have never experienced damage to our porcelain ovens from other manufacturers. Our VIP SUPERIOR PROTECTION PLAN also will not cover this situation. We would not recommend Kitchen Aid Ranges. We would appreciate a settlement.

After a thunderstorm and lightning storm our power went off. When the power came back on we had no control board lights - none. Oven not working. Called repair man - waited 2 days for new power board and replaced it. Same thing - no control board. Now he says he needs to change the control panel boards because he gets no power out from the power board he changed out that supplies power to the control panel on top. Well about $200 for a board he changed and they want another $400 for the control panel if we decide to order it. Those prices are w/out labor costs. Min $85 just for call out. Even if I replace this part that is no guarantee that the oven will work again. I could spend as much money as it cost me originally to buy it. It was not cheap for the Kitchen-Aide Superb gas range when I bought it. I can remember when people would replace ovens/ranges just because they wanted a newer bigger one. Not that anything was wrong with the one they had, they just wanted to replace something that had already given over 25 years of service and was given to someone else just starting out in life. Where is the quality of workmanship that used to be in the things that we build and buy? It seems like today the young people have been brainwashed into thinking that when something breaks it is to be thrown away and replaced. I guess the manufacturers have succeeded in instilling a real throw away society in our youth. It dont work, throw it away because it will cost you more to fix it than its worth. Rule of thumb should be if something is going to cost you about 50% of what it originally cost to buy it --- then throw it away. They dont make anything like they use to.

I always bought KitchenAid for my appliances. I considered myself a good customer but right now Im completely dissatisfied and angry because on what is happening with my Range Oven/Microwave (Model KEMC308KSS01 - Serial XR5013510). I bought it on Nov. 2004. I had the Service Saver Agreement until 2005. On Jan 2005, the microwave glass door exploded for the first time. We replaced the glass with their service rep, Allstate Factory Service, for $400. On Nov 2005, the same glass exploded again, another $400 to replace it. We replaced the glass with their rep from Appliance Expert Appliance Repair. For the Third time on March 05 2012, the glass exploded again. The microwave glass door always exploded when was not in operation. We already spent $800 replacing the microwave glass door for a microwave that should work fine at the first place. We never experienced such a bad performance by any KitchenAid products before. I have to assume that the Range Oven/Microwave that I bought has a defect from manufacture, faulty and represent a safety hazard. Maybe they should have issue a recall of this model. But to tell you the truth, we feel scared about this product. We know it will cause an explosion or a fire or glass will start flying in the air, etc. We expecting to obtain a replacement since the unit never work properly and represent a safety hazard.

We spent 300 to fix that then the unit started to leak. Now the whole thing will go to the dump to join all the other appliances built to last 2-5 years. I own a Kitchenaid dishwasher model # KUDS301XSS9. We bought it from Sears less than 3 years ago with the service warranty package. Ive had to have a service guy out 3 TIMES IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS to fix 3 separate issues. The lower racks wheels have been falling off and melting, causing damage obviously. They, Kitchenaid, wont send me replacement wheels unless I pay $30 a piece for a pennyworth of plastic. They make their products so poorly that its basically guaranteed to fall apart in no time flat so youll be bound to pay their grossly inflated prices for replacement parts. Do yourself a favor and buy parts elsewhere online for a fraction of the cost. This company is such a joke and refuses to stand behind their products. Lost us and my family as customers for life.

Our $600 KitchenAid microwave failed after less than 2 years. I spoke with customer service about repair, and was told that replacement parts are not made for this item as its a countertop appliance. Was not marketed as such - was sold to me as an installed piece with a matching trim kit. I was told that I would just need to purchase another microwave given that Im out of warranty. Very disappointing to discover that a seldom-used microwave that retails for that much money cannot be counted upon to last for 2 years. Sadder still that KitchenAid is not willing to stand behind their product by at least offering a discount toward the purchase of a replacement product. We have a 42 KitchenAid refrigerator and have had the Tech out 3 times for repair. We were told by the technician that the fan motor had shorted out and caused the main control board and another fan to go out. So 748.00 dollars later, we still have no refrigerator working and this is after the Tech removed the board and the fans and said the board is not being made and so it has to be sent out and rebuilt...should be 2 weeks. They would ship the product to us and then we call them and set up another appointment. When the 3 items came couple of weeks later, the one fan that was a heavy metal blade is now being replaced with a thin...black plastic one. Note: when Tech opened the box, the fan was broken…one blade completely broken off and 2 other blades were cracked…Now mind you, a kid’s plastic toy can be thrown, dropped, kick and abused by the kids and not break, but this fan got all this damage just being shipped to us and this is supposed to run and operate my 9000.00 refrigerator?? The Tech said, “Well they changed to plastic because it is lighter. Are you kidding me? Lighter? Are we going to carry this refrigerator around? No, it’s cheaper...and also a piece of junk...not even a heavy plastic. If it cant survive shipping, I have to wonder how it will run my refrigerator. Now the Tech puts all the parts in and tells us that will be 748.00+ and also we can buy a warranty to protect us from other repairs for 210.00…Did it and he left. 3 hours later, I decided to check it to see if I could start putting my foods in and if it was cold enough...Not working...flashing lights on the panel...from 60 to 30 and no ice maker working either. I called them back ASAP...they said we will make another appointment for you...Are you kidding? Send back the Tech. After much discussion with the service people, they came back 4 days later...Tech says board is no good...has to be sent back to where it was re-built and he (Tech) spends most of the time on the phone with someone...telling him what to do (I guess). He states he has been with the company for 31 years but both times he is on the phone with someone most of the time. So now we are supposed to get the board back in a couple of weeks...and then call them again to have it installed. Meanwhile, they have received 748.00 plus 210.00 for the service warranty and I have nothing...no refrigerator for over a month. This is unreal…like the product does not have enough problems...they change out the metal parts for these thin piece of crap plastic and control boards being shipped out to the customer without being tested to see if they were rebuilt right before they send it out to be installed. So I lose all our food and pay for a rental fridge while this mess is still going on...Service and Quality...RIGHT...I dont think these Techs know what they are doing or why would they need to spend most of the time on the phone with whomever it is they are having walk them through this service...

The temperature still goes from 325 degrees to 386 degrees after preheating two cycles. The bottom door hinges have been replaced twice with no change. Door still does not close properly resulting in bottom element not coming on. Whirlpool says this is all acceptable. Our problems with this dishwasher have been multiple over the 2 years and 5 months we have owned it. The electronic control board went bad almost immediately. This was fixed under warranty almost immediately. A few months later water leaked out of the machine and damaged our floors. We received a letter from KitchenAid owning up to the problem, with our model listed among the problem machines. When I called Customer Service to schedule repair I was told the serial number did not match up and that nothing could be done for us. The latest disaster is the warping, popping and breaking of almost all the plastic parts in the upper basket. Again, KitchenAid refuses to stand behind its miserably made product: I am told that I am out of warranty and that the Extended Service plan I purchased does not cover plastic parts. I will never again purchase a KitchenAid large appliance. I will not deal with a company that refuses to stand behind its product.

I want to start by saying that the only KitchenAid appliance I have in my kitchen is a fridge. Model #KBLS19KTMS1 S/N K21016987. If you are in the market for a fridge, dont buy this one. I purchased it from a company called Trail Appliances. It made a loud noise from day one. They attempted to fix it, it started again, too loud to sleep. They came again and when they left it started again. I asked them to take it away. I did not want a KitchenAid. They would not do that. They did an in-apartment surgery on it that took two hours and replaced the generator. The noise stopped. It is still loud but not screeching loud. But now the bottom drawer freezer just turns off. It has ruined food a number of times. Ice cream...forget it. Ice cubes, meat..defrosts to the point where it either has to be thrown out or cooked immediately.I hate this appliance. I tell everyone I know not to buy KitchenAid. I have a Miele dishwasher, an LG gas convection stove and a Breville convection counter oven. They all work. KitchenAid sucks. It is a total disappointment and was from day one. Today it ruined another load in the freezer. I will be getting rid of this appliance because it continues to cost me money. Dont let it cost you too.

Ok, here we go! I am writing this review in the midst of having to repair an only 2-year old KitchenAid KRFF507ESS01 refrigerator. I wish I had seen these consumer report reviews prior to purchase!! Please take my review seriously so that I can prevent someone else from making the same mistake!! The major issues started about 3 months ago!! First, we noticed a noise (maybe fan) coming from back of fridge... louder at some times than others. I also didn’t realize at time that water leaking from ice dispenser when in use had preceded the noise! I just previously ‘chalked’ that issue up because it didn’t occur all the time! After about a couple of weeks of the noise getting louder and softer, it went away! The bigger issue a couple of weeks later became that the fridge was not cooling properly... Supposed to be 37* in fridge. And at this point the ice maker was not working well; making a handful of ice cubes that were not fully formed! My husband and I ran through the manuals extensive list of troubleshooting advice but could not find the issue! We cleaned the front vent from dust thinking this may be the cause... This seemed to resolved issue or so we thought!! 2 days later the fridge and ice maker were malfunctioning again with same issues except the noise!! I also purchased a thermometer for fridge and freezer to see what internal temps were... 50* in fridge and 30* in freezer! I purchased these because there is no other way that fridge indicates internal temps??? Only set temperature is accessible from LCD panel!I called a repairman who walked in and immediately knowing the (common) issue from a bottom freezer fridge, pulled out the deli drawer which revealed ice formed completely covering condenser cover. He proceeded to tell me these are the worst refrigerators (bottom freezer) and also that they are not built to last more than a year before needing repairs! He said he recommends anybody purchasing one to get the extended warranty because the manufacturer warranty is EXTREMELY limited beyond 1 year as stated in manual. He then ordered a fan, wire and harness and cover (I imagine because he may break existing cover removing it). Boom! $169. For service call. He wasn’t sure what parts will cost yet because his iPad was not working and had to place order on phone through his employer. He then gave me instruction to empty fridge and freezer and leave doors open to defrost ice for 2 days! Thanks KitchenAid once again!! I had to throw out over $500 worth of food from fridge and freezer!! He then said that it will get down to proper temps and that I could use again but that buildup of ice will start again but hopefully be resolved with replacement parts. Hopefully doesn’t sound promising!!Unfortunately, I didn’t purchase an extended warranty but that isn’t the point I’m trying to make! The fact of the matter is that KitchenAid builds a crappy fridge!! Unfortunately, I purchased matching dishwasher and wall oven/microwave combo at same time so now I’m just waiting for issues with these (As a side note, the handle on freezer drawer loosens all the time for which I have to tighten with allen wrench every few days!)!! Well that’s my story as I wait for replacement parts and looking forward to that bill! Sincerely FRUSTRATED KitchenAid customer!

We bought a KitchenAid dishwasher from Western Appliance in 2010. Paid $754.00 for it. Three years later, it died. I didnt pay up for extended warranty and was later told that just a service call would start at $120.00 for a technician to show up at my door step. Wow. This dishwasher started having problems with the lower rack rollers. They fell off and got melted in the drying element, $80.00 to replace. Then later, the upper rack had a problem with the attachments for it.A few months later, it popped the 20-amp breaker at fuse panel. I reset the panel and it worked for another week. The last straw was it just died. All it would do would have a blinking clean light on the interface panel. We used this appliance once a day for a family of 4. One would think that it would last longer than 3 years. To sum it up, looks nice but what a **. DO NOT BUY A KITCHENAID PRODUCT. YOU WILL REGRET IT IN THE LONG RUN. After reading the reviews about the factory and their customer service, I will never purchase another one as long as I an alive. Appliances like these should last longer.

Remodeled kitchen and purchased 4 kitchen aid appliances - thinking they were of great quality and would last. Had nothing but problems since purchased shortly after purchased. Had problem with microwave door problems with fridge - ice maker. Problem with oven when self-clean - shuts down and cant open door. Had fixed 2x -this is the 3rd time! Dishwasher fixed more than once - refused to get fixed again and pay over $300 - can buy a new one.I currently have an ice maker, dishwasher and oven that does not work. Raising 4 children, I am VERY dissatisfied with Orvilles where I purchased the appliances and ESPECIALLY KitchenAid - that doesnt back up the products they manufacture with defects. I will NEVER purchase anything KitchenAid EVER again or shop at Orvilles. I have paid so many service charges and part bills. I refuse to give them any more money!

My 1-year-old electric steam oven (KEBU107SSS03) blew the inner glass on self-clean mode. This was the first time I ever used the self-clean mode. I followed the instructions in the manual on self-clean in detail. The mode was set to regular and time given was 3 hrs 30 min. After 1 hr., I heard a loud explosion. The inner glass was shattered. I now await what KitchenAid will do.
