We bought all new KitchenAid appliances for our renovated kitchen about three years ago. The refrigerator has gone out numerous times - we have to unplug it and plug it back in to make it come back on. Ice maker has stopped working at least 5 or 6 times. We’ve had a repairman out here at least four time who told us KitchenAid knows about the problems but doesn’t have a permanent fix. Our freezer quit working today for the third or fourth time. This is a crappy refrigerator. I’ll never buy KitchenAid products again.

I bought a kitchen full of kitchenaid appliances. Top of the line at a big cost. The refrigerator started periodically leaking water. So I called customer service and was told they know nothing about it and they could send a repairman to diagnose the problem. I told her that I need to do a little research before I make a decision. Within two minutes I found 100s of similar problems on google. It was a poorly designed discharge tube and there was a new redesigned one available. So I call back in a NOT SO NICE mood because I hate being taken for an idiot. They gave me some run around excuse but did agree to send me the replacement part. Now Im reading all the reviews and boy did I make a mistake buying this brand. How do they get away with this **. Why doesnt the government or some law firm file claim a class action suit against these thieves?

Installed this oven last month. Have used 4 times. First time for a Pyrex oven dish. Bottom oven set on 350 for baking brownies. Sitting in den and my husband and I hear a noise like metal racks falling. We go into kitchen and Pyrex baking dish has shattered inside oven. What a mess. I now read all the problems with Kitchen Aid ovens and Im scared of this oven. Loved the blue enamel interior, but now Im scared of this appliance. We will see. Thanksgiving on the horizon and a large meal to be cooked!

The valve that allows water to shut off in the dishwasher freezes open causing the water to flow out of the front of door and flood your floor. The first time I was standing there and thought the door may not have closed. About 4 months later I was not there and it flood the kitchen, into the hall and living room. Called Sears. They sent a repair guy. He saw the water did not turn off even when you opened the door of the dishwasher, he said these valves have a problem and sometimes it is intermittent. Sears tested the valve and of course it worked, so they said the water damage was not from that. So lesson learned take a video. So where else did the water come from? Spent $800 for a turn off valve for dishwasher under sink and plumber said no leaks. Need this valve because I do not trust this dishwasher, will be looking at Bosch.

Bought this refrigerator 6/13/12 after home power surge destroyed our other KitchenAid refrigerator Model KSC23C8EYY. We were very happy with the first one so decided to buy another, counter depth side by side. We had no problem the first year but shortly after the warranty expired, had an issue with hose connecting to freezer. After they realized it was a faulty part on the hose, they covered it. We have a wood floor in our kitchen so that also needed to be repaired. Thankfully, I decided to purchase the 5 year Extended Service Plan. We have used it three times, so far. We discovered water accumulating in bottom portion of the refrigerator and called service plan. In April, 2017, had the drain unclogged in fresh food side. Today I pulled out bottom drawer to find the same thing happening. It also had a lot of black mold on side of drawers and refrigerator. (I took lots of pictures). I set up appointment to have repair service come out to fix clog and also to check on why mold is appearing (probably related). Extended Service plan seems very responsive so I would recommend purchasing it.

Well with the refrigerator be less than 6 weeks old we have had two services calls. It sounds like a small plane getting ready for take-off, and I have ice build around the freezer door as well as in the fridge on the ice maker. We have been told a part in the ice maker needs to be added so I believe KitchenAid is well aware of the problem but has refused to recall the fridge. Sorry we spent $3000 for a new fridge KitchenAid will not replace for a new working fridge. I love the look and the size of the fridge but at this point that the best part of it.

I would suggest not buying this refrigerator -- this will be the 4th time I have had to put my food in coolers with ice. The repairman even replaced the motherboard. Presently it is warm again. 56 degrees. It should be at 32 degrees. SO IF YOU DONT MIND THE INCONVENIENCE GO AHEAD AND BUY THIS TRASH!! TOTALLY DISGUSTED WITH THIS PRODUCT. I will never buy from KitchenAid again as they know about the problem and cannot fix it properly. Repairman coming again in the morning.

I loved the way this fridge keeps produce fresh. However, several months after the warranty expired the ice maker quit working. Service man (recommended by appliance store) replaced it but did not fix the problem. They then replaced the compressor, evaporator, and valves. Quit working again. Now they say that it is a sensor (or a board) and needs to be ordered but will take 1-2 weeks. Ive lost two full freezers loads full of frozen food because the freezer temperature wont go below 30 degrees. Repair man stated that this model has 6 boards that can go wrong and often do. Today, ice maker is not producing ice again! Have another call into serviceman. This is the most expensive ($3,700) and the most problematic refrigerator that Ive ever owned. Am looking for a new refrigerator and am sure that it will NOT be a Kitchenaid.

Every time we use the self clean program, the oven locks up and blows the high limit. This is the third time that we have had a service tech out to repair this wall oven today. He said that he had to replace the blower fan. Its because the old one did not produce enough CFH to keep the oven jacket cool near where the limit is. So, today was another $350.00 added to what we already paid for service calls! I called the customer service number again to register my concerns. The fellow at the other end of the line said that there was nothing he or the company will or would do to rectify the problem or recall the oven, or even say I am sorry. So, I told him that I was going to put the bad mouth on the product and company every chance I get. So, here goes buyer beware: KitchenAid will not stand behind their products!

Recently purchased a top of the line KitchenAid Induction Range... Beautifu
Recently purchased a top of the line KitchenAid Induction Range... Beautiful looking stove it is a $4500 range... Not a baseline model by all means kind of in the high mid-range market. Of course like everyone does made sure it noted self cleaning and for me it is especially important because I was in a really bad car accident and I am unable to use my left side only 50%. It is a button clear as they noted on the product Aqualift Self Clean. Watched the video on how to use the feature and how great it works and they use a simulation from a computer... Not a real time real oven video and it is pretty clear why because it does NOT WORK! Went back and read the instructions. Pour 16 ounces of water in the bottom of the stove, remove the racks and hit the self clean button and in 40 minutes you should be able to wipe the oven clean.Well folks to be blunt... You cant wipe **! It actually bakes the grease on the back, sides and glass of the oven more because the steam helps it spread and when you go to wipe it the cloth gets stuck as the grease is sticky and tacky. Bought the oven in May, didnt move into the home until July and tried cleaning it in Sept so literally 3 months. Wasnt really that dirty but Grandpa came over and put some meatballs on a tray and didnt cover them so there was some grease splatter. Well should have been a simple task for any real self cleaning oven but nope not one bit came off. In fact I tried cleaning the glass with the scrubby they provide etc and nothing. It is baked right on from the Aqualift.Did some research and guess what Whirlpool knows it doesnt work but continues to advertise as such! They are even in a class action law suite and when you read all the literature on the oven and the Aqualift capabilities and how great it is for the environment, no smell and simple wipe up technology wow you are sold but I guarantee you will be fooled. Even the techs that come into your home know that the product doesnt work.So to be clear when it is time to clean you add 16 ounces of water, take out the racks hit the button and in 40 mins voila. At the bottom of your stove you have 16 ounces of water that you need to now try to get out of the bottom of your stove, the grease splatter is not wipeable and now more than ever all over the back, sides, glass and bottom of your stove and absolutely will not budge without a harsh toxic chemical of some sort and some serious elbow grease and at least two hours of your time. (Dont forget about the water that is at least 40 mins to try and get all of that cleaned up and out of there.) BUT YOU VOID YOUR WARRANTY if you use any chemicals in this oven as you damage the finish that is supposed to be non stick but is not? You VOID THE WARRANTY if you use a scrubber other than the Whirlpool approved scrubber? They have a 100% customer satisfaction guarantee and folks... this means Jack because they do not stand by it. I am 100% not satisfied and have called to try to work something out with them along with the other 1000s of people who have been ripped off in this scam and let me tell you they 100% dont give a crap if you are satisfied or not... If they did they wouldnt sell the Aqualift product anymore as it has caused them a slight headache. Instead of taking accountability or doing what is right and having some integrity they dont honor their guarantees, do not stand by their products and as consumers we continue to buy and raise their shares and make the higher ups rich while they buy other brands of appliances and laugh at us who are buying their brands!Oh yeah by the way the induction works great... Boils water in 30 seconds and one night just before bed the stove top all on its own turned on and became very hot melting the components all under the glass top and creating heat and warping my brand new kitchen cabinets. Stove wasnt on and they said it is a rare malfunction. WOW!!! So yeah not only is the Aqualift Defective and a whole lot of false advertising and fake promises going on... Some of the stoves have the ability to cause a fire and burn you and your family to the ground. All this for $4399.00. If youre lucky you can get it on sale for $3500 like I did. :) What a joke!Dont think that Lowes or any other of the big box brand stores will help you either. Lol they only offer 30 day warranty on appliances. I bought $8000.00 in appliances from Lowes in addition to $3000 in yard appliances in the last 3 months and they still wouldnt even help... Again why would they sell these products? They dont even care if the products they have in their stores actually work. Not happy that consumers have no recourse on any of this and this isnt enforced... in any way to protect US the people. Protect yourself by NOT buying and boycotting and hitting them where it hurts which is their share price. Thanks everyone and good luck!

Almost four years ago, we bought KitchenAid appliances. From all of them, stove is not good. Stove looks very beautiful, but after two years, one burner was gone and we had to spent $150 and now the other burner is gone. So according to the price, the quality of the stove is not good at all. We purchased a Kitchen Aid gas stove-top in August 2010, for $1,323. Today, I noticed that the knob for the fan was cracked in two places, because it is made out of cheap junk plastic. We barely ever used that fan. We bought a Kitchen Aid stove, based on their reputation, which apparently they no longer deserve. I asked them to replace the obviously defective piece, but they just copied and pasted a bunch of warranty paragraphs. So instead of replacing the knob for me, they would rather have me write reviews of their product. So here it is!

42-inch side by side model KSSO42FMX bought in 2005 stopped working in December 2013. After 2 months of trying to get it fixed and trying to fix it myself, I decided to replace it with an even more expensive Sub-Zero model. It did not turn out to be a control board issue, which others have complained about. Likely a problem with the sealed system. KitchenAid/Whirlpool did not even respond to the owner of local store where I bought it or to the builder who installed it during our high-end remodel.

Salesman assured me that this was a wonderful stove, etc., etc. so I was suckered into buying it. Soon after the purchase, I used the oven... and SURPRISE - the stainless-looking knobs heated so much that I couldnt touch them! Customer service told me that this is normal and even professional chefs have to use oven mitts on certain stoves. (Can you believe that!?) After several calls, I finally got a rep. who sent me black knobs that are made of more heat resistant material. (I wasnt charged for them, so that tells you that they wanted to keep me quiet). That should have clued me in on this product. After approx. 2 months, one of the circuits went out and had to be replaced. My biggest complaint now is the dirty inner glass of the oven door. I called customer service and was told that since the appliance is more than a year old, and out of warranty, they will have to charge me a service call for their technician to clean it. The woman told me that this is common for this particular range!! (Again, can you believe it!??) I told her that this is a design flaw and there should be a complete seal to prevent this. She disagreed, saying its been like this for over 17 years!! NEVER BUY A KITCHENAID! Read reviews and take them seriously... I wish I had!

Kitchenaid Model KDFE104DSS0 - I have before me FOUR repair records on a machine less than one year old. I bought it in January, and by June, the motor had burnt out. In October, yet again, another new motor needed. It still didnt work, did not even get the dishes wet. The company repairman from Platinum Factory Service came back again, ten days later, and replaced a board and wire assembly. Still didnt work; same problem as the one he came over twice now to fix, and both times left me with a machine that didnt work. Lowes, where I bought it, sent over their own repairman. It needed a new motor! After six weeks with a machine I couldnt use, it was finally fixed. Its been working okay now for almost two months.

I have owned this refrigerator (Kitchen Air refrigerator model #KFCS22EVMS2) for almost 4 years and it continually has had problems (e.g., seals around doors deteriorating). Before this I owned a SubZero for over 10 years and never had any problems whatsoever. If there had been room in my current house I would own a SubZero again. So I purchased what I hoped would be a fine quality refrigerator (the KitchenAid) to discover it is badly built with poor quality components. Never ever buy KitchenAid appliance, service is garbage, product is garbage
Never ever buy KitchenAid appliance, service is garbage, product is garbage, warranty is garbage (warranty with Whirlpool company). I spend lot of money for KitchenAid appliance but after 1 year my KitchenAid appliances broke down, every single month. I called to Whirlpool for warranty. They sent a technician twice after I called 40 times, when the technician arrived, I knew more about appliances then he did, I dont know how they got hired. After 2 months passed and they couldnt find whats the issue, they said they will replace the fridge; a month passed and attempted to delivery a new fridge. When the delivery people arrived they said they cant deliver the fridge to the apartment because the fridge was too big (keep in mind they were the delivery guys). So they left and said to reschedule. We rescheduled, and a month later another delivery attempt was made by different delivery ppl but they gave the same answer which was to reschedule because the fridge is too big and that they need a technician on hand to remove the fridge doors so it can go in the apartment. So now we had to reschedule for the 3rd time... 4 weeks later we receive a call from the KitchenAid delivery department and said that if we would like the delivery done on a Saturday, I said that I was busy on Saturday and that if we have waited 4 months for this. Lets wait another 2 days and deliver the fridge on Monday, the representative said that Saturday is the only day for the delivery and that the delivery company wont be working with KitchenAid anymore. They have internal issues. So now we are trying to reschedule for the 4 times and 5 months have passed since this headache has started... A job that any other company would have fixed in 1 week is taking KitchenAid so far 5 months. I am calling the customer service every day trying to get the fridge resolved. But Im being pushed around from customer service to product and exchange department to delivery department to other departments. The KitchenAid Warranty Department should be investigated and see why are they taking people’s money and making them feel assure that once the appliances are broken, they will fix it; but instead they are a fraud.

For the second time, I have replace the glass turntable, plastic arms, and centerpiece from my Microwave. I use it to defrost bagels, and warm up food, typically no more than 2-3 minutes. I JUST replaced the glass again and after reheating chicken for Easter, I noticed the fan was still blowing and the oven very hot inside. If I open the door it stopped, when I close it the fan starts back up. I left the door open thinking it was a cool down fan, but my boyfriend closed it when we went to bed. When I woke up this morning to defrost my bagel, the glass was crack and turntable parts melted. This has to be the WORST microwave on the market. It works great when it is on, but I have had it. In Nov. 2017 we installed KitchenAid double ovens, model KODE500EBS02. The ovens look very nice, but they are not for bakers. They take 10 to 15 minutes to preheat, they do not brown bake goods on the bottom, and they take longer to bake an item. The baked item is never done by the suggested time on a recipe. We purchased this dishwasher in December 2013. We immediately noticed that the dishes on the top rack and in the utensil tray were coming out dirty, in some cases dirtier than when they went in. In particular, the coffee cups had a baked on residue of detritus that meant we needed to wash them by hand after soaking for a while. We contacted the vendor, Corbeil Electric, who referred us to Whirlpool to get the dishwasher repaired. We had a repair done in January 2014, which did not fix the problem although it was better. We had another repair done in about March, and we waited for a new piece for more than a month. The problem recurred in the summer, and we had it repaired again (same piece replaced) in September. 1 week later, the same problem is still happening. If someone had mentioned in the reviews that the dishwasher did not get the dishes clean, we would not have purchased it. The service from Whirlpool is appallingly bad, with wait times up to 30 minutes to get through to the service line and they apologize profusely each time but say they cannot do anything about our dud dishwasher. The dishwasher is very quiet, but the dishes are dirty when they come out.

Kitchen Aid range KESK901SSS08 - The cooling fan which runs when the oven is turned on is EXTREMELY loud and has a loud whistling sound which resonates throughout our entire home. Kitchen Aid has said there is nothing wrong with the fan motor and therefore will not honor a return or replacement of this unit. This unit was delivered August 5, 2014 and was not in use until a few weeks later when the oven was first used. We are STUCK with an expensive range which we cannot use!

I’ve had the cooktop, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, and microwave for three years. THREE YEARS!!! The refrigerator stopped cooling. The next day the freezer stopped freezing. We waited five weeks for the one and only repair company in our area, Guinco, to come out. Was told that a part, which was no longer under warranty $507, had malfunctioned. Waited another four weeks for the part to come in. When the part arrived they put it on and then discovered the condenser, which thankfully is under warranty, $1,000+, was no good. So now we’re having to wait another six weeks for the new condenser. Practically four months. That is totally absurd. Why they feel only one company in my state is authorized to work on these substandard appliances, I don’t know. Luckily we have an older refrigerator in the garage. My husband went out and bought a portable ice maker, also. I read on the website that Kitchenaid/Whirlpool products can last between 15-17 years. If that’s the case for the “few” products that do not last longer than three years, it should be an automatic replacement. That would be excellent customer service. Do not buy this product. Run, do not pass. Go as far away from this cheap as heck product. The product “looks” fabulous but it’s all a delusion. Again, RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN FROM THIS CRAP PRODUCT.

The design of the microwave section of the oven has the door opening down. You cannot remove it. Unless you are 6 feet tall and or an orangutan reaching the back of the microwave to clean the area that gets the dirtiest is next to impossible when you are a normal size person. In addition, periodically it decides that when you’re microwaving something, it just it doesn’t want to and it shuts off.

We bought a KA frig in 2005. We should have learned from that experience. Week 1 everything in frig and freezer was freezing. Service came out 3 times. Finally they removed whole freezer side door (the brains of the unit) and brought a whole new door. Wouldnt replace whole thing just the door. While putting on new door they scratched and scuffed up unit. Yr later ice maker broke. Had to have new ice maker. We have continued to have trouble with it and it is messy. Ice gets hung in shoot, come home water on the floor. Finally stopped using it and went back to ice trays. We paid 2200 for this unit. We redid kitchen in Jan 2011. New slide in range above stove vent a hood vented thru the roof and microwave and new dishwasher. We dont cook a lot. We use the dishwasher maybe 3 times a week. It would not complete cycles but not consistent on which one then the panel lights started staying on, then off. Then it stopped working. After reading reviews we started the breaker thing. Now nothing. It wont be 4 yrs old until Jan 28, 2014 and remember used MAYBE 3 times a week. :( The writing on my knobs on the stovetop rubbed off the first time I cleaned them. The oven temperature has never been right. We have tried to adjust it but no luck. The oven does not cook evenly either. The vent a hood does not draw good. We paid a lot of money for these appliances. I previously was a Jenn Air fan... Loved loved loved Jenn Air. The ONLY reason we went KitchenAid was because the dealer in my town which we have always purchased from stopped selling Jenn Air. If we didnt purchase from them they dont work on it. So after they assured us how good KitchenAid was (even tho we had problems immediately with our fridge supposedly a freak occurrence) we went with the KitchenAid. BIG HUGE mistake. NOW the dealer we bought from so they would work on it for us has gone out of business after 60 yrs. They retired. :( Now I had to call 800 number to find someone. I have been waiting a week and a half and still no call for my appt date. We will never purchase KitchenAid again. Bad product and very costly. :(

This top of the line KitchenAid refrigerator has not worked properly since Day 1. One problem after another. Whirlpool Corporation is a disgusting company to deal with. Told they will repair, but never allow a return. Every time we had a service technician come out, they would say something different from the previous technician. Whirlpool said they needed to pull the whole ceiling out, including wiring, to stick in a small foam pad to correct a problem issue with this model rather than replace this Lemon. They knew all the problems this French door model had but refused to fix them properly. Both refrigerator and freezer made me lose expensive medication and groceries more than once. They would not reimburse.

My mother-in-law, like many people of her generation, swore by the quality
My mother-in-law, like many people of her generation, swore by the quality of KitchenAid dishwashers. We have always bought them until now. Reading the complaints on the internet it is apparent that these dishwashers were once of high quality, but that this is no longer so. We bought one a little over a year ago to replace a 20 year old trouble free model (without doing any research). As predicted by the complaints on the internet, the top shelf failed within a year. We have had several service calls for other reasons and today we decided to simply pull out the KitchenAid, throw it away, and install a Miele (without great hopes). So, why has KitchenAid become so bad. The first thing to note is that Whirlpool now owns Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana and many other brands due to a purchase in 2008. They are all one company and, in a published peer-reviewed study (you can find it at the National Bureau of Economic Research website), it has been established that prices for dishwashers made by this mega-company increased and the number of models declined. In other words, Whirlpool has virtually no domestic competitors. Your only choice is foreign or domestic. Get used to it. The practical effect is that prices for dishwashers of the same quality have actually increased more than the above study indicates. It is a sad comment on an old American brand.

When I had my brand new Superba Microwave Convection Oven installed, it did not work. The light came on and the timer counted down as if the oven was on but the microwave never turned on. The manufacturer would not replace it and I was furious. The warranty only covers repairs. It never worked from day 1. After three visits by repairmen over 7 weeks, the broken part, the appliance manager was installed and it worked temporarily. Then a few weeks later, the same thing happened. My builder was disgusted and took the oven out and gave me a brand new model (Whirlpool/KitchenAid wouldn’t). It was the same model but a brand new unit. After a few months, I had a similar problem and the repairman came out. And guess what, it’s the appliance manager again. I do not want this model back in my house. After 2 years my KitchenAid Dishwasher model #KUDC10IXBL2 needed a new circuit board replacement. We had an extended service contract - great you would think, but not so. After replacement, we had water leaking from the dishwasher. Now my hardwood floors are lifting and I have bowls under the door to catch leaking water. This is after numerous repairs of the gasket. KitchenAid does not take responsibility for damage done to your personal property. KitchenAid also contracts with a repair company called A&E. A&E gives you a time frame for repair between 8 am and 5 pm, so to say the least we have lost out on vacation time as we need to take a day off for repair. Each time the repair guy comes additional damage is done - most times they forget to have ordered the necessary parts, so need to reschedule to come back out. This last time I phone KitchenAid who told me the service guy could deem the appliance a lemon, however the service guy told us they would not allow him to do this. A&E has put into repairs on this dishwasher over $800 and we paid $535 for the item. Last week A&E came out again, it ran well before they left. The next day I went to run the dishwasher and bolts popped off and the unit gushed water. Seriously! My recommendation would be research your product well, not purchase a service contract through KitchenAID and ask if the service repair company contracted with is A&E. Bad experience and the poorest customer service ever!

I purchased a dishwasher in May 2011 for about $900.00 and within 2 months, the electrical panel broke and I could not open the dishwasher. At that time, I should have insisted they replace the dishwasher because it is an absolute piece of junk. Two and a half years later, the plastic pieces that hold the upper basket have broken for the third time. I called KitchenAid and spoke to a manager. They offered to pay for the parts but I would have to pay for the service call and labor. I told them forget it since the pieces can only cost pennies. What government agency forces manufacturers to recall faulty items? Obviously from the amount of complaints online and the numerous complaints to which the service company responds to, this is an ongoing problem that KitchenAid has failed to address. I will NEVER purchase a KitchenAid or Whirlpool product again. I advise anyone that is looking for an appliance to avoid this brand!!!!

The problems started right after the 1-yr warranty expired. So first the top rack came off, the roller plastic part broke. Although the racks are supposed to be a 2-yr warranty item, only the rack itself, not the mounting parts are and therefore the roller part was not covered. Next, the Control Cycle lights for the 1-hour Energy saver wash cycle stayed on, dim when not chosen and bright if chosen. I called Customer Support and was not given any help except an offer to hire a technician starting at $180 to see what is wrong. I went online to see what was available, tried a few recommendations but nothing helped turn the light completely. Next came the detergent door latch not working. I ordered the part for $110 and it came with no installation instructions. I called customer service and nothing was available to help us install the replacement part. I managed to replace it and that works now, but now again, at only 1 yr and 7 months, the dishwasher now has additional lights that will not shut off completely and none of the wash cycles work. So I am without a dishwasher and just horrified to call them again. I wish we never got our KitchenAid Dishwasher.

I called KitchenAid and contacted the repair guy. He came and said he needed to get parts. Week passed. Meanwhile, our contractor had come and fitted the refrigerator with the custom panels to match our new cabinets. Then the repair guy came with 1 of 2 possible bad parts, opened the box and part was broken. I found out from him that the other part - the main circuit board - was made by some factory in Japan that was wiped out by the tsunami. KitchenAid has no replacement parts for this board. If it is bad, it has to be pulled and sent back to KitchenAid to be repaired. However, repair guy said, We should replace the control panel board first and see if that does the trick.I called again to KitchenAid and had the part shipped to our home to expedite the repair - another week passed before we could get the repair guy back (we live in the country) and he opened the box (part number of the box was right) and said the part that was sent to us was for a stove. That was today. We have now been over a month with nothing but a mini-refrigerator - KitchenAid has been unresponsive and uninterested in helping us. We have now contacted both the place we bought this turkey from and have agreed to wait until Monday for the sales person to contact KitchenAid and see if he can get a replacement (which we are pretty much boxed into, as we have a big investment in the custom cabinet arrangement).Im SO disappointed and frustrated.

We purchased in 2008 all of our kitchen in KitchenAid appliances. The biggest problem is with our microwave. We have replaced the grill cover twice. We replaced this product last in May of 2013. We also put in a new control panel because the panel would not work. That’s when I replaced the cover. Today is June 14, and they put my new panel in. When the technician handed me the grill cover, one of the clips had broken again. I called customer service, and they told me they could not help me because the warranty had expired. I told her this was the second grill I had purchased. They are $113 plus change, and I will have to buy another one.I told her I would like to talk to the President to tell how much trouble this product is, and that they need to fix it. I know $100 dollars to some people is nothing, but to me it’s a lot, especially if you purchase this all the time. My wife wanted KitchenAid because they were supposed to be the best. I have owned a KitchenAid Gas Range/Convection Oven KGSA906PSS for several years. I attempted to use the self-clean feature for the first time ever yesterday. I wished I had searched for KitchenAid complaints on this website first. Apparently, I am one of many who has burned up the oven control panel by merely using a feature of the oven. How is this possible that there is no recall or product support from KitchenAid for such a common problem and obvious product defect? I called KitchenAid and as you can guess from their low ratings on this and other sites. They were zero help and I got the impression they could care less if any of us ever buy a KitchenAid product again. They should be happy to know that I in fact would never buy another KitchenAid product or recommend that anyone else ever does. The repair (punishment) cost is estimated at $600. This is a repair for attempting to use the oven clean feature one time. One of the features we looked for on an oven although for some reason (thankfully) we didnt use. This represents a full 45 percent of the ovens purchase price and yet KitchenAid has no assistance or comment. Good Job, KitchenAid. Kitchen Aid is not being honest with the consumers, and should be held accountable. It has been two weeks, and I am still attempting to find someone qualified who can do the repair. I was upset at first but thought, well, its just the basement, it wont affect us too much while repairs are being done. I called the insurance company and they sent out Water Mitigation Crew right away. They started to clean up in the basement and drying the floor joist. They then tested the kitchen floor and found that the water had seeped under the backer-board and they had to tear up half of our (less than 6 months old) kitchen floor/tile to dry it out properly. It had also worked its way into the living room area and cupped up some of my hardwood floor. So upon calling KitchenAid, they said they would send a certified tech out. He came out to see what went wrong and found the pump had came off at one of the factory clamp (crimp style). The tech called tech support, they said put a hose clamp on it. The tech did not feel comfortable with doing that, to be honest with you, neither does my wife and I since there are multiple crimp style clamps on the unit. The tech did not do the repair and recommended replacement. KitchenAid said they need a second opinion and that either way, they would not replace the unit and they need to install a hose clamp on it. Keep in mind, this appointment is now over 2 weeks away and my insurance company is not authorizing any repairs to my home until the defective dishwasher is replaced or repaired. Im just outside of Atlanta city limits and the best they can do is 2 weeks for service? I didnt mention the day this happened was the first day we brought home our newborn (really doesnt matter) but it adds to the stress level, and half of our kitchen is torn apart. Im not even going to get into how poor the customer service was over the phone with KitchenAid other than the fact nobody in that company can make a decision and you speak to someone different every time and they pass you around and you have to re-explain the situation. We are not sure what to do. We may remove the dishwasher and buy a different one (not comfortable with existing) so we can move forward with getting our home fixed. With what we paid for the deductible and what our insurance has authorized for the basement and new kitchen floor, we are at almost $11,000. The Water Mitigation Company is coming back out to check out the hardwood floors again and may have to replace that. We were not expecting an unscheduled remodel of our kitchen and possibly our living room floor. One of my biggest problems Im having is, when I ask customer support if a repair is done, what kind of peace of mind do we get knowing this wont happen again via house damaged/flooded, the answer I keep getting is, as long as its within 30 days, we will come out for no charge and fix the dishwasher. It seems to me they couldnt care less our home is damaged. I would imagine now that I have a water damage claim with insurance, I will have to disclose this when we try to sell the home some day. My insurance could go up. We are so upset/angry/dissatisfied. Words cannot describe. I have asked more than once to speak to someone above a supervisor in the company and I was told that person doesnt talk to customers. I want my house fixed back to the way it was and I really dont feel I should be responsible for the deductible and I dont think its fair to my insurance company either. Im very frustrated and dont know what to do.

Purchased KitchenAid dishwasher new in 2012. In just 3 years it has broke several times. First 4 times it was the upper rack wheel assembly. Plastic wheel retainer clip broke ($22 each piece online-easy to install). Using the broken racks I made a new and improved replacement wheel retainer. I drilled a hole through the piece and added a stainless steel screw and washer. Now when it breaks again next week, I will have a permanent fix for it. Most recently the touchpad control panel also has to be replaced on the unit. I called customer service and they said I had to have a licensed tech diagnose it. Luckily the touchpad is covered under the 2nd to 5th year warranty but I have to pay for labor ($100). I bought this brand for its reliability and as a loyal customer, I will definitely look elsewhere the next time it breaks. I shouldnt have to pay repair service for something under warranty. They are obviously making there money on replacement parts. Please do not buy this dishwasher. They do not care about quality and you will pay for it over time.

Ruining employee and catering meals etc. Best Buy would not accept a return or replace the units and deferred to the manufacturer for a solution. KitchenAid has been less than helpful. Service techs cannot solve the problem and the company wont stand behind their products.

We purchased KitchenAid fridge, Model # KFIS29PBMS00 from Lowes in May of 2015. We began having problems within 2 weeks of it being installed in our home. We had to have it serviced 7 times to finally get it repaired. It was finally repaired by the end of June. Subsequently, I had to keep throwing away food, taking off of work, etc. Now, 9 months later, it is working infrequently now. It started making a noise, like a lower sound like a leaf blower. Then, it started losing temperature. Main purpose of my writing a review... dont be fooled by KitchenAid supposedly being one of the top the line fridges/freezers at Lowes. At our old home, the fridge was there when we moved in and was still working perfectly when we left 10 1/2 years later. It was a GE.Result: I will never buy another Kitchen Aid or Whirlpool product. Although some of their products may be acceptable, the company has cost my family money through the loss of food and work and inconvenience for 9 months for a fridge that cost almost $2000! They should replace it because apparently it is a sub-standard product.

Bought a high end KitchenAid dishwasher at a cost of almost 1600.00. The very first time I used it, it leaked large amounts of water onto my new hardwood floor. It arrived with a dent in the front panel. KitchenAid refuses to replace the dishwasher even though it is within their 1-year warranty period. They want to send a new tub then have the repair technician disassemble this one and rebuild it from the old and new parts. And, because we didnt install it within 30 days of purchase (because our kitchen reno took longer than expected), their cosmetic warranty has expired and they wont replace the door without a charge to me. The dent in the door seems to indicate damage to the unit before I ever received it. The leak of this brand new dishwasher is in no way my fault yet they refuse to replace the unit. If I had known this was their policy, I would have NEVER purchased a KitchenAid. I have a Samsung refrigerator. The delivery people scratched the outside cabinet - Samsung replaced the entire refrigerator with a new one. It appears that when it comes to KitchenAid, buying American is not the prudent thing to do.

As a retired chef I have preference for gas cooktop but electric oven. I built a new home with floorplan that did not offer separate cooktop and wall oven so I was very pleased when I found a Kitchenaid dual fuel product offering gas cooktop and electric oven combination. I had past experience with KitchenAid and thought I was purchasing a quality product.Although the cooktop and oven function well, the so-called AquaLift self-cleaning feature is useless! I do not let my oven become heavily soiled but found my first use of this feature did nothing to clean the oven. Even worse, instructions indicate even if I was willing to use an oven cleaning product and elbow grease I am warned this will damage the oven surface. It appears there are currently class action suits on this topic. Wish I had known this before purchasing this expensive product.

I purchased a KitchenAid 42 Built-In refrigerator through Western Appliances (located at 1976, W San Carlos Street, San Jose, CA 95128). Within 1 year the right door would pop open after closing. I called Western Appliance first and they said they can’t do anything and I should call KitchenAid directly. I called kitchen-aid and they sent service technician, but it didnt fix the problem. In last 1 year they have sent service technicians almost 6 times and the problem still persists. After paying $8389.31 I am using a duct tape to keep the door closed, otherwise the food will go bad.I would like to get either my money back or product exchanged for a good one. Customer service said that they have sent my compliant to Pex department, but they didn’t give me any assurance on when it would be replaced. For last 1 year I am tired of calling them, getting a service scheduled and then staying home from work for the service technician to come home. They have changed hinges, they have even changed the door, but the door still pops open within seconds after closing. Here are more details on the fridge. Like many other reviewers, we purchased high end KitchenAid appliances base on reputation. The steaming sensor was the only thing that ever impressed me. The fan never did much except make a lot of noise and the unit seemed underpowered compared to every other 1200 watt unit Ive owned. At just over 2 years old (and just after the warranty expired) we started getting error messages directing us to open/close the door. That resolved nothing. I unplugged it and fiddled with different buttons and controls, got it to limp along for a few months. Then the appliance went black. The local appliance technician says its a design flaw. The heat from the cooktop overheats the electronics that are in the door directly above burners. Most microwaves have controls in a side panel. $900 wasted.

After setting it for the 4 hour cleaning about two hours into the process, I heard a large bang and then saw chunks of glass all over my kitchen! Luckily no one was in the room at the time. My main concern was how to shut the unit down. Do I call Kitchen Aid or the Fire Department?Their customer service line was of no use. The first call was disconnected. The second call told me to trip the circuit breaker. Good call. But needed the exact serial number but I couldnt provide that because of the safety issue. When I am able to open the door I will see if there is a recall or safety issue. Glass is everywhere. Im so glad no one was in the kitchen at the time it blew!

Do I have to give even one star? I would rather have neon or negative stars
Do I have to give even one star? I would rather have neon or negative stars. I purchased the full range of KitchenAid equipment (microwave, dishwasher KUDS02VR and gas range, architect II). Fortunately for us, we also purchased the extended warranty even though I thought with top end equipment we probably would not need it.The microwave has had multiple call outs over the 4 years of owning the piece: F2 errors, cooling fans that dont just turn on but partially start then stop then start for a second then stop and start for 10 minutes or so at a time. Its driving me nuts! The dishwasher has trouble cleaning anything. It leaves dishes dirty and the glasses have developed white film on them. Dishwasher has gotten clogged and according to the technician because we have the audacity to use it . We now use dishwasher magic every month.Range oven: First of all, the door lock keeps locking with an error when you use the oven above 400F and you cannot open the oven door until it has cooled down and you reboot the system by removing power, this you have to do multiple time before the door complies. We replaced locking mechanism, now it seems to work at last. Secondly, every time you use the clean oven function, the electronics go on the frizz. Now, we are without an oven again for a week while we get a technician to come again to look and hopefully fix the electronic issue.Through all this (including digital movies of the issues, pictures etc., sent to KitchenAid), the general response has been that all equipment works as designed. Works as designed! They should fire the designers and send the specs to some elementary school kids who could do a better job!I, for one, hate KitchenAid and will never buy another product from them again and will tell as many people as I can how lousy their products are.

The glass on my KitchenAid lower wall oven shattered (it was not on at the time). When I called KitchenAid they gave me the name of their local approved repair vendor. I ordered the part and paid the high price for a replacement. When the repair technician came to replace the defective part HE COULD NOT DO SO! The replacement part had not been manufactured properly. It was defective. The subject part was the outside glass pane attached to the stainless front panel. The glass was not centered and there was a 1/8 gap on one side and the other side was attached so that the part was twice as thick as it should have been. The thickness prevented the attachment screws from connecting. Obviously, Whirlpool is not familiar with the concept of quality control. The technician took the defective part back to their shop and ordered a new replacement. That part has the same defect! I am told that the vendor has tried several other suppliers and have not been able to find a non-defective replacement part.I never had trouble with replacement parts when Hobart owned KitchenAid! The Whirlpool organization negotiated the lowest price possible with their replacement parts vendor--probably in China--who gives Whirlpool their moneys worth and KitchenAid owners now suffer with the result. IT HAS BEEN SIX WEEKS and there is not a properly manufactured replacement part in sight!!!! This oven is almost twelve years old but for the price KitchenAid charges it should last one hell of a lot longer than that! Model: KEBC208KSSO, SN: XM4400465. Sadly, the approved Whirlpool vendor who is suppose to be repairing my oven door has not bothered to call me back since the first week this fiasco began.

Tonight at 5:45 pm the inside glass of my KitchenAid Superba built-in electric convection single oven exploded with such force that the glass shot across my entire kitchen and into my dining room. I had the oven on and was baking fish at the time. Luckily, my baby had just moved from her usual place on the mat in the kitchen or else she would have been utterly disfigured and seriously injured by the explosion of glass. I immediately phoned KitchenAid and they said they could send a technician on Thursday, January 5, 2012. The technician has just phoned to say he would just replace the glass and that this happens 100s of time a week and there is no guarantee that it wont happen again. When I asked for some certainty that the oven would be safe, he said he wasnt the designer and it wasnt his role to tell me that the oven would be safe in the future, then he said he refused to do business with me and put down the phone. I am appalled. We escaped lithely this time, but there is no way I am prepared to let it happen again. I think everyone should know how unsafe these ovens are. KitchenAid needs to withdraw these ovens from sale and, for me, they need to return my money so I can go in search of a different oven. I will once again be phoning KitchenAid to find out what they will do about the situation. I phoned Trail Appliance Edmonton South but they said their technician will phone tomorrow. They, however, did not seem to realize how serious the situation is. Does a child or someone has to be seriously hurt before something happens to have this oven removed from sales?

We have a KitchenAid Double Wall Oven purchased at Sears in 2001. Just now, fully out of the ten year warranty. Its model no. YKEBSDB3 and serial no. YK210XXXX.This unit has been nothing but trouble since we got it and we are at the point of replacing it. In Canada, this unit sells for over $3500.00. I never even thought to check consumer reports before we bought because I knew (ha!) that KitchenAid appliances were the top of the line, had an excellent reputation, and felt so lucky that I could financially buy such an excellent set of ovens for the first time in my life. Boy was I ever wrong.I wont go through the litany of issues we have had but they are similar to the rest of the complaints and issues stated previously. We had a Warranty with Sears which has now run out. I have to say the serviceman who does the warranty work for Sears was wonderful and I have no issues with him but, he also disclosed problems with several similar ovens. One easy fix: we have had issues with the door hinges/springs deteriorating and the doors not fully closing, hence the oven not warming. A quick fix is to buy two approximately 1 diameter rare earth magnets and place them on the sides of the door about 3 down from the top so as not to affect the electronic panel. They will keep your door tightly closed.I too, would join in any class action suit against KitchenAid/Whirlpool and will continue to badmouth the company at every opportunity until they had the decency to admit publicly that there are problems with these ovens and offer to repair them free of charge. Thanks for the platform to speak up.

We remodeled our kitchen 9 years ago. We put in all KitchenAid appliances. Dishwasher, microwave, gas range and fridge. I have never been more disappointed with a company in my life. This week after numerous service calls we replaced the dishwasher with a Maytag. Your dishwasher did not clean dishes from day one. We suffered for 9 years. The paint and I stress PAINT on the stainless steel microwave wore off the handle after a year. The range has needed the control panel replaced 4 times. The off button fails every 2 years. The ice maker has been replaced 4 times. The last time the tech told us we had the freezer set too cold. Can you imagine? A freezer, too cold? There were many other service issues that I will not mention because I consider them normal wear and tear. These totaled about $1000 over 9 years, which I think is acceptable. The cost for the unacceptable repairs is in excess of $3500.
