LG Dishwasher Model LDFN4542B Error Codes

CODE: IE
PROBLEM: Not filling
FIX: Check that the water supply cut-off valve for the dishwasher is fully open. Check the water inlet supply hose for a kink. Unplug the dishwasher, shut off the water supply and disconnect the inlet supply hose from the inlet water valve. Check the filter screen on the inlet water valve for a clog-replace the valve if the filter screen is clogged.

CODE: OE
PROBLEM: Not draining
FIX: Check the sink drain or garbage disposal for a clog and clear any clogs you find. If the sink or garbage disposal drains okay, pull off the dishwasher drain hose from the sink or garbage disposal connection and check the end of the drain hose for a grease clog. Clear grease clogs from the drain hose. If the dishwasher uses an air gap, check the air gap for clogs and clear any clogs.

CODE: AE or E1
PROBLEM: Water leak detected
FIX: Abnormally high circulation pump speed caused by low water level in the tub can cause the AE or E1 error codes. Water that leaks into the base of the dishwasher cabinet and trips the flood switch can also cause the AE or EI code. Unplug the dishwasher and shut off the water supply. Check the dishwasher cabinet base for water. If water leaked into the base, find and repair the cause of the leak. Water could leak from the water fill line, water inlet guide, drain pump, drain hose, door seals or sump.

CODE: FE
PROBLEM: Water overflow detected
FIX: The drain pump automatically runs when the FE code is displayed. A leaking water inlet valve or a stuck relay on the electronic control board can allow water to fill the dishwasher constantly. To check for a leaky water inlet valve, unplug the dishwasher and see if the tub continues to fill with water. If it does, shut off the water supply and replace the water inlet valve because the valve is letting water to flow into the dishwasher constantly.

CODE: tE
PROBLEM: Thermistor (temperature sensor) failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and disconnect the wires from the thermistor on the heater. Measure the resistance through the thermistor using a multimeter. The meter should measure 11,320 ohms at 75 degrees (room temperature). Replace the heater assembly (which includes the thermistor) if the meter measures less than 1,000 ohms or more than 20,000 ohms.

CODE: LE
PROBLEM: Locked up circulation pump motor
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and check for an obstruction that's preventing the pump impeller from spinning. Remove any debris or foreign objects from the sump. If the pump impeller is clear, check the wiring connections on the pump and reconnect any loose wires. If the wiring connections are okay, unplug the wire harness from the motor and check the resistance through pins 1-2, pins 2-3 and pins 1-3 of the motor using a multimeter. The meter should measure between 8 and 20 ohms (resistance of the motor windings).

CODE: HE
PROBLEM: Heater failure
FIX: This code appears when water isn't heating or when the thermistor (temperature sensor) detects that water temperature is higher than 194 degrees. If water inside the dishwasher tub is extremely hot, measure water temperature using an accurate thermometer. If the thermometer measures water temperature near 190 degrees, then you'll likely need to replace the electronic control board because a stuck heater relay on the control board is causing the heating element to stay on constantly.

CODE: nE
PROBLEM: Diverter motor failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and check the wire harness connections on the diverter motor and diverter position switch. Reconnect any loose wires. If the wiring connections are okay, unplug the diverter motor wires and check resistance through the motor using a multimeter. The meter should measure around 4,000 ohms of resistance. Replace the diverter motor if the meter measure infinite resistance.

I bought a $2300.00 LG refrigerator the end of 08. Less than a year later Im having trouble with it. After 6 service calls to my house from 3 different companies, LG decided to replace the unit. Now, just at 2 years into the replacement and it stopped working. I called LG and received the worst customer service on the phone. The compressor was bad. They gave me 3 numbers to call for someone to check it out. One is not in business, one wont come and the third did not return. The compressor is under warranty but what good is that if no one will work on it? I was left with a fridge with bad food and the only option is to buy another fridge.

Many factors weighed in choosing which one to get purchased it because it was cheap and a good size. It can fit a lot for a small refrigerator, we have a tiny kitchen and that one fit. It keeps the food in the fridge nice and cold. I hate room temperature water and if I put water in, then its cold almost immediately. It is a nice texture and overall a good fridge. Sometimes it can get too cold though. Things almost get frozen, which can be nice but also nasty and leave residue. It also broke so we had to buy a new one.

Ive had this LG model LMV1683SW microwave under 2 years, and Im tearing it out of my kitchen and throwing it out. First, the turntable started making this awful rumble. LG said its crumbs in the track. The track was clean, but I cleaned it anyway. Still rumbled. Then sparks and small flames started shooting out of a vent hole near one of the shelf hooks. I removed the metal shelf thinking that was the issue, but it was not. It happened again, and this time I unplugged the unit, and Im removing it from my wall. LG says their initials stand for Lifes Good. Should be Looking Grievous.

LG Premium service - I called LG on my washer that was out of service warranty. The washer had flooded out of the front door seal. They transferred me to the department that dealt with out of warranty repairs. They dont mention you are not working with LG even though all correspondence has the LG logo on it. Silly me for thinking I was dealing with a reputable company. The one time service was simply wiping down the seal of the washer that eventually flooded the washroom a second time. I called and they returned with a new seal. Next day it flooded the room again. 2 days out of work and $300 for 2 more floods. I called and requested a refund for poorly executed services. Realizing my downtime out of work and paying for the service paid for a new washer. I received a reference number and was told I would receive a refund in 6 weeks or so. 2 months now, and 1 hour of calls, I was told that the case was reviewed and my services were delivered as contracted. No calls or notification that a ruling was made. 2 supervisors later today basically told me the same. Next call is to corporate. If you have been taken by Assurant, the number its 212-859-7000. Its not the $300 but the lack of customer service and QC by this company. DO NOT BUY A CONTRACT FROM THIS COMPANY!! I will never purchase an LG device or appliance if they associate with a company like this.

Since the first week I had LG, it made my clothes smell. Despite calling LG, and having a service company come out, the smell wont go away. I have a sick person with cancer, and they cannot lay on the sheets, because it makes them nauseous. I have to take the wash to my sons house. This is totally unacceptable. I have allergies, and the smell is giving me headaches. LG needs to take this machine back, because there is something gravely wrong. The reason is it does not empty all the water out, and sits in the machine. The water gets smelly, and goes into the clothes. To sit on the floor and empty the water after each wash, is unacceptable. Bleaching and numerous cleaning doesnt help, as long as it holds at least a gallon of water all the time. Please recall the LG front load model WM042HW/01. According to LG, this is normal, and are trying to say it is the soap/detergent that is the problem. This is not so. It is a water problem that always remains in the machine getting musty.

Its compact and yet open enough to see everything. I like the freezer on the bottom. It gives more room for refrigerator items. Easy to clean. Shelves are glass so you can spot things fast. The veggie bin is also see through a little tight to get in and out. I have a small kitchen so this LG fit nicely without giving up space.

Our fridge broke after 5 months. We had the repairman at our house 4 times over 6 weeks and fridge still was not fixed. Called LG customer service many times and explained that our fridge has not worked for 6 weeks and we have 2 toddlers and no one was able to help me. Many different customer service reps told me they would put it my request for a new fridge but it would be denied and they were unable to help me. After asking for a manager, I was put on hold for 45 min and then disconnected, this happened 3 times and no one called me back. We were also promised the max amount for food spoilage and after finally agreeing to give us money back for our fridge, LG told us we no longer qualified for the food reimbursement so we lost hundreds of dollars worth of food (over the course of fridge braking 4 times). This was the worst customer service I ever experienced in my life and for that reason, we will never buy an LG appliance again!

LG will do nothing about it and I have been on the phone with them for over 6 hours trying to get help. Please buy any other brand except Samsung. I think they are the same. I call the LG phone and they answer its Samsung. The refrigerator is in the garage right in front of the LG convection oven that they could not repair 2 years ago. Anybody who would like these 2 appliance can call me. We are going out to buy a new fridge this weekend and it will not be LG or Samsung.

LG refrigerators are not the same anymore, quality is not good, drawers break easily, it has cracks inside, Ive already repaired it once, and it is only 4 years old. Quality is not good. I spent $250 in repairs, the screen showing the temperature does not show correct numbers anymore, and the technician told me that we cannot repair that unless we pay big money for it which doesnt make sense on top of the $250 we already paid.

I bought an LG double oven in February. As soon as I tried to preheat the oven, the oven filled my house up with gas. After many unsuccessful attempts to have LG have someone come out to fix the oven under its warranty, LG finally scheduled a company to come out to fix the oven. After the company attempted to fix the oven four times, the oven still leaks so much gas when I attempt to preheat the oven that I cant use it. Even though the service company has told LG that the oven is defective and they wont come attempt to repair it anymore, LG refuses to replace the oven or refund me for the cost of the oven. I have been without an oven for seven months and Im currently stuck with a $1,500 defective oven. Thanks LG!

If I could I would have NO STAR - We’ve had nothing but bad luck with our LG appliances- first of all our dishwasher -the control panel went haywire 5 months after we got it- well that happened 2 more times since. When we built our home we also bought an LG gas range, refrigerator and microwave. So last year we went to Alaska and when we came home in August the stove control panel also had gone haywire. You cannot properly read the numbers that tell you the temperature/time so when you set the temperature you have no idea what youre setting it to. Called LG and after hours on the phone with them to get it repaired they did NOTHING. Our cost to find out by the repairman (we paid for) that to fix it we would spend more than what a new oven would cost. It is barely over a year old and possibly failed prior to being a year old! 2 days ago we woke up to our LG French door refrigerator inside as warm as our room temperature and everything inside ruined. It is just barely 2 years old! Called LG for repairs- ended up having to get our own repair guy, and it has a bad compressor, won’t read codes, and needs a new control board. The repairman said it’s an extensive repair and could possibly fail again easily (read class action law suit on them). Called LG back and now we have to wait to hear from Service Power to see if anyone can fix it. They offered NOTHING for the loss of food but would send us up to $200 for a mini fridge- and he’d send us an email for doing so- still waiting for that. These appliances cost thousands of dollars! Buyer Beware!!! They are junk!

We have had our LG Front Loading washer for 1 year. For the past 6 months I have found stains/marks on my white clothing. Sometimes there are marks all over the pants and sometimes just a few marks. The stains are rust colored. NOTHING will take the stain out! I have tried every solution/tip out there to get them out. I have thrown away some of my favorite white clothing because of this and am now FED UP!!! We clean and sanitize our washer frequently and we leave the door open when not in use. WHAT is wrong with this washer!!?

I purchased a new LG Range 1/12/20 and about 60 days later I was cooking some fries in the oven. I turned it up to 400 and as I was walking away the inside glass shattered into a million pieces. After cleaning up the mess I contacted Best Buy who put me in touch with LG. My complaint is not necessarily against the range but the customer service at LG. After being on hold for 1 hour and 10 minutes I was finally able to give her the information needed to get a service representative to contact me for service. She said I would be hearing from them soon to get an appointment set up. After not hearing from them in over a week I started calling again just to be on hold for over an hour the run around again. If LG is out there please contact me. I would like to use my oven again.

We purchased our LG Direct Drive Front Load Washer almost two years ago. The last 6 months, we had a smell we could not find located in the area of our washer. Looked at the manual for trouble shooting. We did not know the washer needed to be drained. Weird, right!! We drain it often, but the smell never goes away. When draining lots of water comes out and it smells like a sewer! I hope this helps someone prior to purchasing one of these smelly washers. Also, washer is very noisy. I hope to save to purchase a better product.

Got set as gift from brother-in-law after wife helping during death of his wife. The washer has worked fine since 2008. The dryer we have had checked several times, always says vents needed cleaning. Now that I have read reviews of how having to do exactly what we have to do is dry 4-5 times, I am convinced no need to spend any money on this high dollar product. Will purchase a decent dryer... Used to be a washer dryer lasted 20-25 years. What a shame on LG! Never again.

We purchased an LG dryer from Lowe’s 11/18 for almost $1,000. It stopped heating after 3 days, so Lowe’s delivered a new one. This one worked for about 6 months. The diagnostic iPhone app didn’t work. The diagnostic app that communicates with a smartphone using a sound code didn’t work. We finally got a diagnostic error code by using a combination of buttons on the machine. It said the vent was blocked. So I removed the vent - there was no blockage. They say a repairman is coming next week, but we’ve decided it’s all too much trouble and so bought a new Maytag for $500 today. The LG is going to the dump.

We own a french door LG with Ice in the door. The box worked flawlessly for the first two years. Since then it has been nothing but a long effort to get the ice maker to work. There have been no less than 10 service calls trying to fix the ice maker. They replaced PC boards, ice makers, ice dispensers etc etc. The final fix was a motherboard, ice controller board and a new door. This repair lasted about 3 weeks and then the box quit making cold and we lost all the food. The service company that provided the repairs was competent enough, but the box is just a piece of junk. We had a terrible time just getting repair service for the last failure. According to our service contract we should have been given a new box after the third repair. I have called them time and again and cannot get them to move on replacing the box. I cannot tell you how utterly frustrating it has been to get this box repaired. We were given a loaner box from Home depot after the LG quit entirely. The box is not working and we still have the loaner from Home Depot. Hurrah, for Home Depot. My only words for anyone who buys an LG is you better have another fridge and you better buy a good service contract.. Forget about an ice maker, they just dont work.

Electric Range model number LDE3017SW. After only using my electric range a couple of times, I noticed steam and grease lines inside the door between the two glass panels. These lines and this film and grease have continued to cover the inside of the double paned window. My range always looks dirty as if I need clean the door windows, but the grease lines and steam lines are on the inside. I called to ask them to come to fix the seal or replace the door and they said they are unable to do so unless I pay someone to come take the door apart to clean it. I should not have to disassemble the door to clean it. The seal between the window panes are faulty or defective. I had my first Maytag range for the first 34 years without anything beyond normal wear and tear from use. This LG one cooks and bakes well, but has this issue which is hard to look at everyday. Also, the top is white and the burner glass top areas already have stain. This is not as big of an issue for me as the streaked windows in the door. LG has refused to send anyone out at their cost when this is a manufacturers defect.

The LG refrigerator belonged to one of my family members. Im assuming they got it because of its sleek design and functionality. It matched well with the other appliances in their kitchen as well. It worked extremely well and had great, convenient compartments. The display on the water/ice dispenser was attractive. I purchased a LG 6.3 cu. ft. slide-In ELECTRIC Range with ProBake Convection and EasyClean from Costco in 2018 for around $1300. I dont use the range a lot (maybe 8-10 times a month). During the warranty period, 2 burners were not heating properly and the oven was always between 50-75 degrees under where is was set. Under the warranty the 2 burners were replaced, but the technician was not able to figure out why the oven was not heating properly. We tried adjusting the temperate settings using the ovens setting feature with no real results. The month following the end extended warranty, I used the self-cleaning function on the oven which blew the thermal fuse. This was a $300 repair for parts and service call. Last night, the oven just quit working 10 minutes in to cooking a $170 prime rib roast for Christmas dinner after the temperature was turned up to 475 degrees. I might guess it is the thermal fuse again. Yes, the oven is now 4 years old, but it has never functioned properly since the day I purchased it, and it has gotten very little use. I would expect so much more from an $1800 appliance!

I was hesitant on purchasing another LG Range because 6 years ago I filed a lawsuit against them for advertising their specific electric range as a true convection with sabbath mode when in fact it was not. We won the lawsuit due to LG falsely advertising their product. This leads up to yesterday when I decided to give them a try again. Figuring they learned their lesson, I purchased their LRE3194BS. They (LG) claims on their website as well as on every website that sells this range (Best Buy is where I purchased) that it is in fact a True convection (3rd heating element behind the fan). After it was delivered yesterday I opened up the owners manual and it stating it is NOT a true convection. When I called LG customer service to find out exactly what was going on and to ask what the difference was with their True Convection & their new Pro Bake Convection, the representatives could not tell me the difference. They then connected me to the corporate USA office in Alabama where a representative answered the phone. I explained not only my concern but also brought up the lawsuit 6 yrs prior and she stated this unit was NOT true convection. I asked about their webpage and the info they provide to retailers and she simply stated she has no idea who is responsible for putting correct and valid info online. I said this is just like years ago and youre falsely advertising your ranges again. She then Hung Up on me. Hopefully another attorney will pick up a new case against them.

We bought 5 LG appliances in April of 2010 and had them installed in August same year. So far we have had to have the wall oven repaired twice after only 3 years. After the first repair it broke down again within 7 months and we were told the warranty for the new part was only 6 months! Trying to get a second repair took over a month of angry phone calls just to try to get a LG certified repair shop to even book an appointment! When contacting customer service they will not let you speak with any sort of management/supervisory personnel and there is no way to receive an address for a letter of complaint. Our convection microwave also stopped working after less than 3 years and had to be replaced at the same time as the second oven repair. Should have been done with the first oven repair but could not get the part from LG in time and they were going to charge for another service call!Side by side double drawer bottom mount freezer refrigerator hasnt had the water dispenser work for a couple years. Their top of the line dishwasher has been having grinding sounds for over a year and this week is now on a continual run cycle no matter which cycle you request, just does not stop as well as having the loud grinding sound the whole time it runs whether 2 minutes or 20 hours! Just waiting for our induction cooktop to be the last of the appliances to quit, should be coming any time now! It astounds me that consumers can pay top dollar for products and get lower than average results with the products and customer service. Trying to speak to anyone within the customer service center is a lesson in how not to conduct business, and not being able to have a contact address or email or phone number for customer complaint is infuriating.

ELECTRONICS] who told me he could come that same afternoon [5/18] to look at the refrigerator. o J.O.A. comes at 3 pm EDT, runs diagnostic, confirms it was the compressor, charges me $50 and starts to leave. I ask him how long it will take the part to come in.o J.O.A. then tells me LG will order compressor and fix the refrigerator that he can’t do it. [Are you freaking kidding me?] • Called LG support back and talked to a new service rep who told me: o J.O.A. Electronics shouldn’t have charged me $50 as my refrigerator was still under warranty and he should order the part so he can come back and fix it. o She then supplies ME with their contact info and tells ME I need to:  Call them and tell them they have to return my check. [as they shouldn’t have charged me] Confirm that they can order the part and fix the refrigerator. [Isn’t this why she’s getting paid?] • So at this point my husband gets home from work and calls J.O.A: o who refuses to return or destroy our check, causing us to call our bank and issue a stop payment [$30].o who also tells Steve that his job was to do a diagnostic, not order the part or fix the refrigerator just do a diagnostic. [seriously, this is who my service ticket from LG went to? What happened to a certified tech or company…] • Called LG support back [for those counting, this is call three on 5/18], and talk to another service rep who: o Listens to my tale. o Puts me on hold to talk to management; and then gets back on the phone to tell me, she can:  schedule an appointment [**] with Jude an LG certified technician, for 5/26 between 8-12 EDT [because Monday, 5/25 was Memorial Day] NOTE: that’s a week without a refrigerator DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND AND AFTER DOING A MONTH’S WORTH OF FOOD SHOPPING.o After slightly losing my **, let’s be honest folks, for all of those of you who know me, patience is not my strongest strength, I tell her fine and graciously accept the appointment with Jude the Savior for over a week away. We make due for the next week without a refrigerator [shopping daily/borrowing refrigerator space from friends]. Again, you can’t make this ** up. • So, joyous day, 5/26 arrives: o Jude [the long awaited LG certified tech] calls to tell me he’s running late and will be at our house closer to 1:30/2:00. o In the meantime, our address update from my calls a week earlier take effect and our town is updated. [they had the correct street address but the wrong city]o I immediately get a call from Jude, the LG certified tech and savior, who I have waited a week to come fix my refrigerator, who tells me our town isn’t in his territory so he won’t be coming because it’s too far. He cancels my RNN ticket. [We live 15 minutes from the wrong town in the ticket.] • Pissed off [major understatement], I called LG support, tell the service rep I want to speak to a supervisor, get put through to another minion, tell my story, AGAIN, including the J.O.A. mess, tells me he can get us serviced the next day [you see there’s no way we can get same day service because of COVID-19 and such – really, there’s a pandemic in play, this is news to me], 5/27, new ticket issued [**]. [We wait with baited breath to find out who is going to be coming to fix our refrigerator.] o I get a text telling me a service ticket has been issued and I will be contacted once a service center has confirmed.o J.O.A. ELECTRONICS accepts my ticket is confirmed as our service company. [again, you can’t make this ** up] • We call back LG support, express our frustration and concerns about J.O.A. being assigned the ticket and again tell him the story about J.O.A. an the incident that happened back on May 18th. o While we’re on hold, the service rep calls J.O.A. himself. [props Arnell as it was more than Diane did for us on 5/18]  They assure him they can do the job and they will call us to set up an appt.o We wait. [NO CALL. NO APPT SET UP.]• The morning of 5/27, I literally get woken up by a text from LG that says they are still looking for a provider to come as quickly as possible. I will be notified when an appt is confirmed.• I send an email complaint to the office of the president because he wants to be connected to his customers (5/27), outlining our dilemma and the challenge we’ve had getting service for our refrigerator. [Again, it’s only 16 months old]• 5/27, call LG support (again), to be disconnected (again), but this time Service Representative calls me back. We now have a case ticket (vs a repair ticket [CNN vs an RNN]) which will take 3-5 days to be reviewed before hearing back from LG. [AT WHAT POINT IS LIFE GOOD WITH LG because I’ve missed the GOOD LIFE EXPERIENCE!]• 5/29, receive a standard letter from an executive advisor in response to my letter to the president thanking me for my letter, telling me that my case is in review and let her know if there was any immediate needs that she could help me with…SERIOUSLY, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? IMMEDIATE NEED. HOW ABOUT A REFRIGERATOR THAT WORKS!!!The worst part is we are out hundreds of dollars in food, the returned check fee, a couple of vacation days and I still do not have a working REFRIGERATOR. At this point, I just want my money back so I can buy a refrigerator that works and will work 10 years from now. Again, our compressor didn’t even make it 24 months. So if you’re in need of a refrigerator, do not buy the hype – LIFE IS NOT GOOD WITH LG. Buy a Samsung, GE, Kenmore, or another brand. Life is not Good.

I too made the mistake of buying LG appliances. My dishwasher motor has seized. Never felt the dishwasher worked correctly. 1/2 time soaking wet and 1/2 time dry. The utensil basket pieces broken out on the bottom. The machine is very loud. Takes a ridiculous long cycle of two hours to wash dishes. My wash machine is also now acting up and I am getting frequent error signs. If you want appliances to last longer than 4 years look elsewhere. Foreign call center with little to no customer service.

My wife had purchased an entire Kitchen of LG appliances about a year ago with the Black SS smudge-proof finish - NOT INEXPENSIVE! We just noticed that the finish in a few areas is peeling on the refrigerator only. NOTHING in the way of a chemical cleaner has ever been used on any of these appliances, only soap and water. All of the other LG appliances with the same finish (microwave, dishwasher, gas stove) are perfect. She is extremely upset that we have taken so much care and spent so much money only to have this major appliance look like heck. Let’s see how LG stands behind a (14 month old) $3,000.00 PEELING FINISH on their French Door refrigerator. Best Buy already said too bad, nothing we can do!!

It took almost a month to finally get LG to respond. First call they needed proof of purchase sent to them (strange, since they already knew my model and date of purchase while on the phone!!). They said once received, a manager would review to determine if they would extend the warranty, which would allow for the top to be replaced. No call back. Called again a week later--same story, but never a call back. Called again a week later, and demanded to get this resolved. After waiting for 40 minutes on hold, it was denied. I said that was not acceptable as this is common complaint about this washer, etc. I demanded to talk to a supervisor. After about another 20-25 minutes, a supervisor approved the warranty extension, and scheduled a service call to replace the top. A new top is being shipped in time for the service call. Hopefully the replacement top has been redesigned around the bleach cup!!To those of you who said they denied your claim, do not give up! Demand to talk to a higher up person! I also told them I would be going to Home Depot to complain and every time I was there I would drop a picture of the rusted washer into every LG washer on display!

I bought an LG French door refrigerator in June 2017. The compressor first died in April 2018 and it was replaced and now it has died again, April 2020 during the pandemic and nobody can come out to fix it. This is the worst fridge I have ever owned. Not even 3 years old and I have to replace it. Im disgusted. Do not buy an LG refrigerator.

I bought an LG refrigerator and it was a horrible purchase. I had to have it fixed and I had to pay for a repair guy to come out six times. The last man to come out told me that the previous technician that came out didnt know what he was doing, and he was terminated because he was caught lying to customers. I was also promised by LG a voucher for thousands of dollars worth of food I had to throw out because of all the times my refrigerator broke down. I sent in the receipt and I have a copy of the email but I never heard from them again. I never received the voucher for the food. I am a single mom of four kids and for me to lose thousands of dollars worth of food is completely disgusting. I would never buy an LG product ever again. It was a fail on their part to do what they were supposed to do and its taking everything inside of me not to go to the Better Business Bureau or to contact my lawyer regarding this.

We bought the LG appliance bundle of an oven/range, refrig, microwave and dishwasher and we also bought the front loading washer and dryer. This was one GIANT mistake and I regret buying from LG. Our ice maker was manufactured incorrectly and as a result we had 5 diff repairmen sent out with no solution. Our refrigerator should have been replaced but LG delayed the services and repairs putting us outside of the warranty date. Now our oven went out in less than 5 years and it has to be replaced. I went back through my LG file and remembered all of the problems with trying to get my rebates and that I had to spend more time trying to get it than it was worth. I have since learned that others have issues with their LG refrig and now I am learning about oven issues. Overall, I have learned to never buy LG. I was a believer but have since changed and advise others to avoid LG.

Had this product for under 5 years. Most appliances I expect to last 8 to 10 years. Anyways, first very minor complaint - all the letters for buttons completely wore off. I wasnt touching them really...they just wore off so now its hard to tell what buttons are what...there is nothing next to them. Im a mom of 3 super-active kids and laundry is done all the time in my house. One day I started to smell a burning smell. It worried me so I contacted a repairman. He said he has problems with dryers not WASHERS. So he tried to recreate it by running several loads...felt stupid - He never smelt it again, but gave me his card and said call if it happens again. So it did a day later. he came back out. Opened up the top and saw nothing near the mechanical piece at the end of the washer. Smelled nothing after several loads. He said, Well make your loads smaller and of the same weight, That way there is nothing off balance. He assured me that if there was a problem the circuit would break if it got too hot. Well I threw a load in and went upstairs talking to my son. I came down and there were smoke fumes everywhere spurting out from the drum of the washing machine. Had I not come down and stopped it -- my house would have burnt down. I unplugged the machine quickly, opened all doors on a frigid winter day, and brought a fan to get fumes out of our house. Every person even the repair man and the guy at Lowes when I was looking at new washers said he had NEVER heard of a washing machine catch on fire. But from what I have read online its a common occurrence for the drums of washing machines on HE washers to get out of balance and cause fires because they spin so fast...WHY ARE THEY NOT FIXING THIS PROBLEM!!! We could have been killed by this.

My LG 3650 washer lasted 40 months, with a 2 person household. Died, needs a $700 repair of the modular control panel at the back. I contacted LG to ask how this could happen, and they wrote back that they would pray for me (honest - we see youre dissatisfied... youre in our prayers). They offered no advice as to why the washer failed, or what to do other than an expensive service company 100 miles away. DONT buy these appliances. Ever.

Updated on 03/25/2021: After my review LG replied, that I can call LG and they gave me an authorization number. They said that LG will contact me within 7-10 business days or I can call them. I called them today, since nobody contacted me. I was told that my claim was rejected because there was not enough documentation from the technician and the technician did not state that the dishwasher is not reparable! I said that he did not say that. I was standing next to him when he called LG and was told that there was a recall on the dishwasher and he received TCC number which I also wrote down. (And I was told later by LG that they cannot find that number in their system) This is a technician from LG. This is not mine technician. I do not really know or care what paperwork they need to exchange. I am trying to have working dishwasher for 6 months now! I do not know why LG is not standing behind their product and cannot resolve this problem in 6 month. I have ordered this in June 2020. I do not care if the dishwasher is repaired, replaced, but I just need to have functional dishwasher.Original Review: In June 2020 I have ordered LG dishwasher from Home Depot for one of rental units I manage. Because of shortage of appliances it came 2 months later. This is one of many dishwashers I bought, but all others were Samsung. When tenant moved in this unit, they called me that there is a rubbery smell and smoke coming from the dishwasher after about 30 min of washing. I called LG, LG said the tenant has to call because they will take them through different steps. Tenant was told that they have to keep running it that it is normal that the dishwasher is new. But smell did not go away. Technician came in, but said that he cannot stay for the whole cycle and they should keep running it. Then I called LG and was told that they will call another technician and got another appointment. (4 months has passed already.) My tenant moved out because they could not use the dishwasher. Another technician came and spent a lot of time examining the dishwasher then he called LG and found out there was a recall on this dishwasher and gave me TCC number which LG gave him. I was told I will just call LG and give them the number and they will exchange the dishwasher. I called LG that I am calling because there was a recall on the dishwasher and gave them the TCC number. LG told me that they do not have the number in their system and they will call the repair company (which LG sent) and they will call me back. Nobody called me nor they called the repair company! I tried the next day and was told that the recall department will call me back... Again nobody called me. It has been 5 months since I have reported problem for the first time. Nobody can still wash dishes and my apartment is vacant since I cannot place new tenant in till I have dishwasher. LG is a nightmare to deal with. I do not understand how they can stay in business. I will never buy any LG product because of the customer service they provide. There is nobody who takes ownership and resolves an issue. My tenant was so upset they wrote to VP of LG. Tenant is in the process of building a home and they make sure none of their new appliances are LG.

LG microwave dead at 18 months!! I bought an LG kitchen suite. I decided to go with the pricier microwave which looked good and had cool features expecting at least 5 years of function. I bought Model#: LMHM2237ST. It just died one day, no clock, no lights, no power, nothing. Called LG, it is out of warranty period. LG sends me warranty extension offers so frequently for all the appliances but now I understand why. At this point I cannot recommend LG to anyone. Disappointed.

We purchased the LG front loading washing machine four years ago. It does vibrate but not like a Bronco. It does smell sometimes but we bleach out the machine once a month or so. It does not clean our clothes very well. I have to soak my shirts and pants in a water/ammonia solution before putting them in the washer to get a start on cleaning them properly. I guess if we use high-powered stink detergent, we would not notice a not quite clean smell of freshly laundered clothes, but we dont want artificial stink on our clothes. When my mother sells her house, Im going to trade our inadequate machine for her 15-year old Maytag top loader with the suds saver. We would warn anyone about purchasing this washer. I had no idea that so many people had those amounts of problems with this product. Wish wed read here first. It figures that LG is a Republican supporter, lots of big stink to cover up even bigger stink.

1st dishwasher faulty control panel. LG wanted us to wait for 3.5 months for part. I had to raise bloody hell before they agreed maybe this was a touch unreasonable. Luckily Lowes mgmt was outstanding and took machine back and gave us replacement. Installation number two completed to find door latch assembly faulty and after LG needing two different repair people to verify this machine too is a piece of crap the new door assembly part will not be available for 40 days from now and will not replace machine and expect us to wait for their repairs. Why oh why did I not read recent reviews of LG products. I have all LG appliances in my home that I have had for over 10 years. Now reviews say newer LG products a consumer is lucky to get 3 years. Calling all consumers... Vote with your $$, stop buying LG and lets put this company out of business.

We needed a new refrigerator to replace one weve had for a number of years.
We needed a new refrigerator to replace one weve had for a number of years. It was just fine but getting old. I was very attracted by the fabulous design of the new model of the LG. It had the features that I was looking for and I was very happy to find it. But we got a lemon from them. Weve bought two from Home Depot because we live in Hawaii and out in the country a bit. Were also far from major stores, so we buy quite a bulk then go once a month or so to the store. Out where we live, everybody has at least two refrigerators. The design features of the products are wonderful but right after the holidays, the second one that we got from LG that my husband and I mostly use overflowed in the kitchen. Also, it would cool then it wouldnt. My husband had some ice cream bars in the freezer part and they were melting. Hes an engineer and he had been always able to figure out anything and take care of it. But in this case, it wouldnt hold because its electronic and you have to have the part. So we called LG and they had nobody out here to repair it. Theyd have to go to Honolulu, back and forth, and we got very frustrated with that because the refrigerator would start then it would stop continuously. So, we finally called the local repairman who is known all over the area here and the first words out of his mouth were that they dont touch LG. I asked why and he said it was because they get no support. So, back we were to the LG number available to us, which is out in the Philippines. Thank heavens it was in the Philippines and not India, because the Philippines serviced us very well as they could at their point and tried to help us. They suggested this and that and were very courteous. But we fiddled with this and that and nothing worked out of the things that they were recommending. Finally, they started referring me to the home office in Alabama and I got shunted around from one extension to another. Then in March, they were telling me that they got somebody here on the island that could help us. So the person came out and said that he had to order this and that part from Honolulu. That went on for a week then he came back and did nothing. The parts didnt come and they gave me one excuse after another. In the meantime, the refrigerator is completely dead as well as the icemaker. LGs reps didnt appear again and we had more calls back and forth. After that, another person came out and said that he was gonna order something. But he ended up in an auto accident and I got the report that he was injured and that they had to get somebody else. We went back and forth again for this on May and we were into the fifth month at the time. The darn thing cost me $3,000 and I was getting frustrated. Then I was hooked up again via the Philippines, routed again back to Alabama, and then I was telling them again what was happening and what they gotta do. Then this secretary who was out in the front shielding the calls in the office told me again that I had to talk to customer service for that. So, I slammed the phone down and called the attorney. Bottom line, we got no satisfaction and they were not fully prepared to handle and accommodate the product out where they are selling it. The right and the left hand arent getting together sufficiently. I was beside myself because I was caught in the middle. I was listening to my husband who was fit to be tied and mad and an engineer who expects things to be processed properly and wanted the details taken care of. He was all over my back to get some results and I was trying to get results from LG but getting nowhere. We were in town on Tuesday and we decided to swing in to Lowes and see what they have because we were gonna buy a refrigerator to replace that one. I talked to the Sears island repairman who now deals with all different brands, except LG, and asked him what he would recommend and what brands he repairs. I was ready to have only a very economic and simple model for this second backup refrigerator. Im also hoping the LG that I have in the kitchen doesnt poop out on me after all the extra loading from everything we lost in the other refrigerator. So, I found a basic model from Lowes that they will attach an ice maker to, which is the number one thing for my husband. And they’ll have it delivered then the Sears man will service it. It was easily and simple, and cost about 1/3 of the price of the LG. I will never buy an LG again.

When you dial the control to hot or very hot on the washing machine the net result is warm water or cold water. The washer instead of delivering hot water, mixes cold water with the hot water and you get warm or cold water in any cycle. It takes 3 cycles of 1:10 minutes to dry a normal load of clothes. I have to add vinegar to a load of sweats, to help with the smell. That is on top of a fabric softener. Our LG refrigerator wasnt 3 years old and the compressor went. It was covered under a 10 year warranty through LG. 2 days after it broke a LG repairman came out and said it would be a 6 week wait for a compressor. That was unacceptable. Tried calling LG customer service a few times. And kept getting the runaround. We bought it at Best Buy. LG was telling us that Best Buy was responsible even though its on paper that the compressor is LGs responsibility. They did not want to give me what I paid for and deserved. We bought a fridge, a microwave, a dishwasher, a stove and all of the appliances have had some electronic problem or another and have to had to be worked on. The dishwashers electronic panel was replaced but now it does not dry. The stoves electronic brain was replaced, but it does not heat properly. The fridge has had to have its seals replaced. The microwave had to have its brain replaced but they put it in wrong and they crossed the wires while installing it and had to fix that again. We are unhappy with LG appliances and would not buy or recommend an LG product again, as they do not seem to be working properly and we did not get the support we needed to help fix these problems when they first started almost one year to the date of us purchasing them.

My mother who lives in LA got a high tech LG fridge about 4 years ago which 2 months ago its compressor stopped operating and from that time she has made 6 different appointments with LG customers service to fix it! Every time they go and have look at the fridge and they say well, its the compressor and we dont have it with us!!! Thats all they do. Then my mom has to call them again and book another appointment which usually takes 2 weeks for them to appear, and the same story goes on! Its such a shame that the summer is going to finish and my mom couldnt use her fridge for 2 months. I wonder if LGs customer service has any ideas about living without a fridge in the summer time at all??? Its while my mom paid about $4000 for an useless huge box to sit in her kitchen! Thats not acceptable, frustrating and were not only gonna stop buying LG products, but also well get a lawyer to fix this problem ASAP!!!!

Ive had range for 18 months. When I auto cleaned the oven for the first time (dont use that often) three months ago, the F3 button started flashing about 2 hours into it but it continued to finish cycle. So then the phone calls finally staying home from work for a service repair who takes an hour to assess the range and then he needs to order the part and have it sent and then then set up another appt. but it worked. So I cleaned the lower oven 6 weeks later and the control panel shorts out again. Service is coming so well do the same thing all over again. Why have a self-cleaning oven when every time you use it, the control panel burns itself out? Is it faulty insulation?

I have bought a LG Microwave from Home Depot in Nov 2018. It stops heating in Nov 2020. Called LG customer service 800-243-0000 about bad Magnetron which is covered for 10 years. They refused to ship me a part and only ship it to a technician. I told them I have serviced and repaired my appliance and I am DIY and installed the microwave. they still wont ship me the part. Also they do not cover repair service. So I am now forced to pay out of pocket for this repair. Never buy LG microwave again. Bad product from Korea! LG Electronics NeoChef 2.0 cu. ft. I liked the finger proof texture. The body of the fridge had the silver style. Really looks good in my kitchen next to my other similar style appliances. The refrigerator section holds a lot more than the refrigerator that it replaced. But I disliked the drawer on the bottom. It seemed not to hold much and everything just ended up being piled on top of each other. It just wasnt as convenient as I thought it would be for my size family. So I started looking on reviews about other brands. LG has always had a good reputation on other products of that brand I own. Ive had some good luck with their brand but all in all I think I will be looking into other companies next time I need a refrigerator.

We own a lot of LG products so when we were in the market for a new stove, we went straight to the LG section. Well my burner on my range wont turn off. I called LG and they told me my model was on recall and they were aware of the problem. The tech came out and said he had to order the part. Then after spending way too much time on hold (One guy didnt even put me on hold, he put me on mute for 20 minutes!!!), they told me my range was not on the recall list!!! So I would be responsible for the parts and labor!! I then spoke to the supervisor who basically told me there was nothing she could do. So what am I supposed to do with this defected stove... leave the burner on and burn down my house? Not only that the number they gave me for the tech was no longer in service, I had to Google the company myself and provided LG with the correct number... For that alone they should fix my stove! So I will be contacting the better business bureau ...Heres the real kicker, Im hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my house!!! LG stands for Lousy Grinches! They stole my Thanksgiving. Maybe Santa will bring me a real stove... by Maytag.

I purchased the stove (LG Free Standing Stove) in November 2009. The electronics went out in October of 2010 and were replaced. In October of 2011, the electronics went out again. We contacted our LG repair person and waited for the new circuit board to come in. This is June and the board finally arrived (we have used the stove top only as the oven goes off as does the stove top, but easier to see). The new board was installed and now the stove does not work. The repair person replaced the old board and now the stove does not work. What recourse do I have at this point?

Our LG fridge LFX28978ST /04 stopped cooling. We lost everything we purchased in groceries to last us a while during this pandemic. It is a compressor issue from their linear compressor. We called LG and they verified it is a compressor issue but had to pay out of pocket cost for technician to come out and the repair cost while they supply the part. The technician came out and in under 20 mins, said it was a compressor. The cost for that 20 mins, $85. The service cost for the technician to perform the work, $890. The cost for the compressor from LG is less than $260. At that cost I would rather buy a new fridge. I called and complained to LG. They gave me 3 other technicians BUT I will have to pay new labor costs. They said I could explain to them that it was already diagnosed, which all the technicians said this is false and they will have to perform their own diagnosis.1 of them did not answer, the other said he has not touched LG fridge in over 7 years and does not want to. I called LG because I was not getting anywhere and they advised that I can call any local technician and they will approve the technician to perform the service. I have called about 6 local places and ALL OF THEM will not touch LG refrigerator. All of them said one thing or the other about LG refrigerators. I am getting nowhere with LG and it is a very frustrating time right now for me and my family to get the run around and nothing in the fridge. LG will not even reimburse me the cost of my groceries until the technician performs a $890 repair that they only have to fork out $260... Beware, if you buy LG fridge, prepare for the runaround and NO technician wanting to service this and if they do, the cost will be ridiculous. This is totally unacceptable and I can see why there is a class action suit against this company. I will be posting on all social media how LG handles its customers on an item they know is flawed. Hopefully I can deter others from buying LG refrigerator. I wished I searched this site before buying an LG refrigerator. I am getting no help whatsoever from LG... NONE... They will have you doing all the leg work and calling for nothing...

We have had an F3 error code issue for months, it threw the error for the first time 2 years to the month from date of manufacture. We have had the range for 26 months and the error for the last six months of that. After numerous calls with LG they would tell us to unplug the unit and at first that would clear the error only for it to return a few days to a week later, then when those calls resulted in the error never clearing they suggested that we have a tech out to fix it at our own expense since it was beyond warranty. After numerous visits from a LG referred appliance repair company, having LG first suggest we spend $200 on a part to replace the buttons, then when that didnt work asked to spend another $160 on the actual control panel part for the electronic system LG shipped a part for this stove which does not fit in the actual model we have. They apparently have discontinued the original part that is needed, at this point there is no part that fits our range which was manufactured 2 years ago in March 2018, we received the stove in June 2018 and have had issues with the F3 error button in a continuous shortage stage since about March 2020.This was not a cheap gas range. It cost ~$2,000 and to have spent $360 on parts + another $200 on labor at this point we are so frustrated. that is $560 that we could have put towards a stove that would not be a continuous pain the the side to have repaired, for an issue that should not be coming up so close to the manufacture date on an appliance of this cost only to find that they dont make the part we need any longer. I would not recommend purchasing a LG range to anyone I know.

I think LG refrigerator owners who are experiencing repeated compressor problems should file a Class Action Lawsuit against LG for a full original purchase price refund and subsequent repair and warranty plan costs incurred for inferior product design and manufacture. Our LG French Door Refrigerator Model LMXX30776S/01 is also experiencing compressor failures. Purchased in February, 2015, the original compressor was replaced in September, 2016. Now, August, 2017 that compressor is also failing. Temperatures continue dropping in the refrigerator, freezer, and mid drawer sections even though I continue lowering the temperature set points. The ice maker is also producing small cubes at a very slow pace, and they begin melting and forming refrigerator icebergs. My wife purchased the Warrantech Extended Warranty through hhgregg. Recently Wil, the LG repair tech from Fredericksburg, VA, was at my home to service the unit. He measured temperatures, low and high side line pressures, and voltage. He cleaned some dust from the back of the refrigerator and left. He said he could not stay and further monitor the unit because it went into the defrost cycle. He told me to call him after a day or two to let him know if I was still having problems. I called and left a message on his phone. I have not received a return phone call. The temperatures continue to drop. Refrigerator performance continues to deteriorate, and $3,000.00+ has been wasted on a extremely poor product.

We purchased a model WM3270CW Front Loader washer from Best Buy on 06/25/18
We purchased a model WM3270CW Front Loader washer from Best Buy on 06/25/18. This machine was only used very carefully in our home. After washing a small load of pillow cases and face cloths I removed them and dried them in the dryer. About two hours later, on 8/30/19, we were sitting in another room of our condo and heard a loud crash. I walked around trying to find the location of the noise. It had come from the washer. The glass on the door had imploded into the machine tub. The door was ajar for air circulation so some of the shards also were on the floor of the laundry room. About an hour later there was another loud sound. This time the outer edges of the part of the door that had landed into the tub exploded off. After various calls to LG and lots of conversations to try to get rid of me, I was told that they were referring this problem to their safety department. They kept promising return calls within 24 to 48 hours but they never came. I finally was given a case number and was connected to their Escalation Team Department. This last conversation resulted in a visit from a technician from A&E Factory services on Sept. 10. He informed us that there is no record at LG of a door ever imploding. He said that LG believes we hit the door or caused the problem ourselves. We did not hit the door. No one in our home hit the door and there is no way that we caused the problem. We did not cause the glass to implode! We are fortunate that there was no one in the room to be injured by the flying glass when the door imploded. I believe this machine needs to be recalled. There is a serious safety issue here that LG is not willing to recognize. Thank you for reading this. As you can see I am very upset. LG is really just trying to get rid of me and my complaint. They said this has never happened before. Now my online research has proved that this has happened to other people with LG machines. I am concerned about even using this model LG if it is ever repaired. We had a previous LG Front Loader for 8 years and had to replace it because of leaking and mold. I still have the dryer and bought this one so it would look almost the same as the dryer. We were told that the mold issue has been taken care of with the way to keep the door ajar. It is much newer and is obviously not as well built even though the other one had several bad issues such as mold and leaking. I would never buy another LG appliance. The company does not want to know that there is a fault with this current washer. Someone could have been seriously injured.

Our new (under 2 year old side by side fridge/freezer) stopped cooling. I tried doing the smart diagnostic app and it said it was working fine. I tried to make sure doors were sealing fine, they were. I called LG. They said it might of done an auto defrost. I was told to unplug it and it would reset it that temp would return to normal in 12 hours. We woke up the next day to a flooded floor. All food in freezer was defrosted. Refrigerator was at 65*. I did the smart diagnosis again. It said it was fine. Called LG and sent them the diagnosis and they said to unplug and wait 6 hours. I lost all food and temp Kept dropping. I was told to put food in coolers. Most was trashed. I was told they could send a repair person in 2 weeks!!! I did the best I could with food in coolers but lost it all. LG was not helpful.A repair person came out earlier than quoted and it seemed to be working (known compressor failure) yet now temp is plummeting again. At this point I just want a full refund to buy a new non LG fridge. I’m hoping temp increases, yet I just emptied ice so hopefully if it fails it won’t ruin my new floor. I just bought food to replace the food lost. I have no other fridge at my home. 4 days and it’s not working again. Reading all these reviews makes me sad that this brand is allowed to sell these products and hold hard working families like mine hostage.

LG washer drum wont turn. Called number in the user guide. Customer service gave me a number to call for repair. Turns out they are too far to service me. Logged in to LG website and called number for washing machines. It was a Sears number that services LG. I advised the washer was 3 years old and out of warranty, but the drum motor was warrantied for 10 years. She said they could not honor the warranty since I did not buy it at Sears. She said I should go back to the store where I bought it, but the store cant do anything past warranty. Talk about a complete run around. I had cracked the glass top on my previous LG range as a glass bottle fell out of the cabinet over the range. We went shopping for a similar range and I thought the model I was purchasing was self clean. We were in a family crisis at the time so I didnt do my normal research. I know the sales associate realized I wanted self clean so I really didnt pay enough attention. It was a while before we really used the range as we were out of town with the family situation. I have watched the videos regarding easy clean and LG claims small spots, light soil are easily cleaned after the easy clean cycle. I have run the easy clean three times today to clean light soil and it doesnt clean up with plenty of elbow grease. Ugh. I should also mention my husband has had to take the glass out of the door twice to clean soil or grease. We are retired so its not that we are always cooking.

I have only had my LG refrigerator for 5 years and now my freezer has gone out and every repair person says it is the compressor as this is a very common thing with these fridges. Is this not a recalled product? Are you not standing by your product and its parts and are ok with this being a standard? Very disappointed in the fact that your company is not standing by its product and replacing these parts that are consistently failing after only a few years and still not fixed! You are still selling subpar refrigerators! This should be reported to the better business bureau and the Attorney general! Shame on LG!!!! Bought my fridge in June of 2014, the freezer stopped working in July or August of 2014. We have had repairmen visit almost weekly for 3 months. Now both the fridge and freezer dont work and I have paid LG service $225 out of pocket to waste my time. When I call, customer service representatives scold me because my fridge is out of warranty and they often disconnect me. The technician told me that a specialist has to deem the fridge not repairable and when I call to ask for a specialist, customer service tells me that all technicians are specialists. They are great at giving the runaround. Customer Service told me I should consider hiring a 3rd party vendor for repair service (and pay them too). I was provided 2 vendor phone numbers. Thats LGs way of saying we stole your money, stop bothering us. LG only sends repair confirmations if you schedule an appointment online. They hide records of follow up visits and there are no records of repair visits scheduled by phone. This makes it difficult to seek recourse through the small claims process which is the intent of withholding documentation.

They told me to do weekly maintenance and keep the door open. I have NEVER heard of such a thing and believe that a customer MUST be told about this prior to purchasing the machine. I did as LG told me because as a working mother, it was easier to just do it than to call and complain again. I was so angry after I spoke with them and listened to the uh huh, uh huh bad attitude. Last week my 7-year old son, walking from his bedroom into mine, walked into the door in the middle of the night (my son cut his leg). I am furious! My LG Fridge Model # LFX28977ST caught on fire. We purchased it 8+ years ago and stopped using the ice maker and water dispenser 3 years ago. It stopped working 3 times and we had it repaired twice but by the third time we turned the ice maker off and shut off the water valve. 3 nights ago it make a noise and my kitchen filled with smoke. We opened the door and found the ice maker black and melted from the fire. All my food was contaminated. I was on the phone with LG to find out it’s not under warranty, no recall is on this model and was offer a technician to come and see if it’s repairable if I pay $125 upfront. I said, No thanks. They opened a ticket with their safety department and said someone will contact me in 24 to 48 hours. It’s been 2 days. No one called. We had no idea what a nightmare we would be having after purchasing our LG
We had no idea what a nightmare we would be having after purchasing our LG Top Loading Washing Machine. The very first problem was a significant leak that was repaired in a timely manner. After that, I had a problem getting the soap out of my clothes and called the toll free number. I was told to use only 3 tablespoons of HE detergent, I was only using 1 tablespoon and still could not get the soap out of our clothes. I was taking our towels outdoors and hanging them from our clothesline and hosing them off until they were freer of suds. Finally, I called a repairman and was informed to use only 1 to 1/2 teaspoon of soap, but I still have to use a lot of water to get our laundry somewhat soap free. Our water usage has gone up over a 1,000 gallons a month.Things went along for a while, until I started noticing small shards of a foreign material stuck in our towels or in our pockets. I was baffled as to where these little hard pieces were coming from, and about that time, the washer was starting to make a strange noise during the spin cycle. I called the repairman again and we discovered that the drum was rubbing against the fiberglass liner. Those small shards in our laundry were coming from the washer tearing itself apart.I agreed that this particular washer was to be replaced. I wanted my money back minus the months of usage, but was told that was not an option. Finally, in the later part of November 2011, 6 months after our initial purchase, we received a replacement machine from LG. All was fine for a while, until the bleach dispenser stopped emptying completely. So, I called the repairman again and we received a new dispenser. Well, that one did not work any better and another repairman determined that there was a problem with the control panel and the washer drum needed to be replaced, because it was not in balance. It has been less than one year since we made our original washing machine purchase and it has been one problem after another. The fact that this type of machine does not properly rinse laundry and requires a lot of extra water to do so, is irritating. I always have to stay alert because the machine goes out of balance a lot and I have to leave the wet laundry and try to get the machine going again. In my opinion, this machine is poorly designed and will never work properly. Life is not good at LG, and well never purchase another one of their products.

After the first six to ten months of use, I struggled to figure out what I was doing wrong. Very often, the clothing would actually come out smelling worse than when they went in. Lint and dirt particles were left inside the tub, on my clothing and in the laundry basket. This issue increased in degree as the months went by. The LG design places an odd drain tube and plastic filter at the front bottom which requires cleaning periodically. But actually, it is a reservoir for dirty water and also, the filter rarely had much lint or pet hair on it.I am a senior citizen and I never imagined such a design would even exist. The dirt, lint and pet hair rarely reach the filter and just build up in the washer. I have had to remove the plug, replace it with a clamp and open the drain onto the floor after every load. The instructions want you to get on the floor and find a bowl low enough for gravity to fill it, but not spill it when theres more water than will fit in a typical bowl. The washer needs special cleaning very often and the whole process is utterly ridiculous. I have spoken with customer service and my issue was moved up to the manager, but the company has shown no interest in customer satisfaction at all. Having a Kenmore front loader previous to this is like changing from the best to the worst imaginable.

I bought this LG dishwasher 1 year ago and this is the WORST, WORST machine ever I have and so has my husband called the company. We were told to change soaps to Cascade liquid. We have tried pods, powders and other brands. My dishes still come out dirty, Glasses with grime and I use Jetdry also. WE have changed the dial to the highest number, tried everything we were asked to do. Why would someone spend the money on a dishwasher to have to WASH the dishes BEFORE you put them in the dishwasher? There is always soap residue in the machine after each use. I was willing to agree on LG sending out a repair specialist of LG to look and/or repair but now I just want it removed from my home. I will NEVER EVER buy a LG appliance again. My husband and I bought this dishwasher last May 2015 NEW with the fridge and stove. This dishwasher is probably the worst dishwasher ever!! Its the model with the 3rd rack, sounds convenient right? Wrong!!! It sucks, yes I can put knives and silverware on the top row but it leaves very little space for your glasses. So any glass taller than 6 inches does not fit!! Which means they have to take up space on the bottom rack or Im forced to hand wash! Now the bottom row... The lines that are suppose to hold the dishes do not stay standing up. The silverware basket is in three sections that is suppose to lock to together, it falls apart if you just put a fork in it. The large bottom rolling basket is constantly coming off the tracks! It takes 2 1/2 hours to run a normal load and an hour to run a quick load. The quick load does do a good job and usually have to rewash items. I hate this dishwasher and the only place it belongs is in the trash dump! WARNING DO NOT BUY IT!!!

After the first year of ownership, what I thought was an investment of a lifetime, has evolved into the mistake of a lifetime. This washing machine (LG WT1201C) is depositing some kind of a black substance all over my entire wash. When rubbing this deposit while wet it dissolves into some kind of oily residue. I had three different service technicians from three different companies all of which said I needed to clean the machine more. Really??? One technician went as far as to say it had something to do with the drain line. I have used every product imaginable to clean the tub to include bleach, vinegar, tub clean from Affresh, and Tide, none of which has resolved the problem. I have even removed the drain hose from the machine, and washed it out (which should not have to be done). The slime inside the hose is not the same substance which is being deposited on my clothes. I had a very expensive set of sheets ruined on the first experience, not to mention having to drive across town to wash my clothes. The problem seemed to have subsided for a while, but now it is back with a vengeance. I called LG to set up a service call and spoke with Cyrus on 6-6-16 who informed me I would have to call back and schedule an appointment with Sears and was given the phone number of 800-905-9505. Cyrus stated these people were trained to work on LG products. I called the number provided on June 11th speaking with Donald and set the appointment for Monday June 20th and was given the repair ticket # **. On June 20th the technician didnt bother to show up or call, after I had taken the day off from work for this repair. I called LG in regards to this matter and spoke with Tori ID#**, who informed me they (Sears Center) had treated her just as poorly when questioning why the technician had not shown up or called. To make matters worse the Scheduling Department took it upon themselves to schedule an appointment for the next day, Tuesday. Again I placed a call to the Service Center to cancel this service call as I had not made the appointment and would not be available due to my work schedule. I explained, to the male on the phone, not to schedule any appointments as I would call back when I had time available. The following day I received another automated call to inform me a technician would be arriving on Thursday. Again I had to place a call to cancel this appointment. To escalate this matter even more on 6-27-16 I called the Sears Service Center, and was informed they could not schedule a service call for Saturday, as this was a warranty call and they do not do warranty work on Saturday, just non-warranty work, and I was informed, by Sears I would have to call LG back as my repair order had been cancelled, which I did, and spoke with Heather, who informed me they have no control over when Sears schedules their technician. On 6-29-16 I started the calling game all over again placing a call to 800-905-9505, and the female answering the phone said she could not schedule any appointments for any Saturday. I then asked to speak with the supervisor and spoke with Robert for the second time. When he started to say they didnt have any Saturdays available I advised him I had already spoken to him and knew he was not telling the truth. All of a sudden magic happened. I was given the date of July 9th with a service # of **. When asking Robert where this call center was he stated it was Columbia.

Fridge stopped cooling in early May. Its only 2.5 years old. After six repair appointments 3 of which were to tell us they could not do it that day, and had to order parts and a four hour repair appointment it broke again a week later. Called LG. Called repair service A & E through Lowes. Still have no fridge and more parts on order including another compressor. LG refuses to acknowledge the first four hour repair in May because it was set up with the same repair company but through LOWES my extended warranty. I called and offered to walk away for the near cost of replacing it. They refused so I am taking them to Small Claims Court. LG is garbage.

I purchased 3 Kitchen Appliances from RCWilley las Vegas Nv. on 07/02/2020 because of the rebate offered by a LG Appliance rebate (Bundle Savings) if we purchased 3 or more of their qualifying products and that is what we did. We bought an Oven, Dishwasher and Refrigerator. The Sales Associate gave us the form and Serial Number of the qualifying products to fill in and mail into LG USA Inc. located in Memphis Tn. 38101. Several months went by and I called their #1-877-333-9203 and they confirmed my rebate was in process. NO REBATE to Date. 11/11/2020. I would not trust this companys promise of getting a rebate. If it sounds to good to be true it usually is not true. Totally DISAPPOINTED WITH LG.

LG has one of the best refrigerators that I have ever used and was easy to maintain and clean which is an underrated feature. It was recommended and the sale made it unbeatable. It did everything I needed it to for the price. It was a good reliable refrigerator for the apartment that it was in. Well kept and easy to store and organize food and beverages. The shelving was well done and easy to use, allowed for no clutter while storing a vast amount of food and drinks. The features I liked the most are simply how it was laid out on the inside, perfect amount of shelving and organization abilities. It had quite the capabilities and was just as good as all of the LG products that I had previously used or owned so no disappointment.

One week out of warranty period, the fan in the freezer iced up, leading to a call to one of the very few repairmen in the area. Cost: $300. Ms. **, said she’d talk to her supervisor about a one-week warranty extension and never called back after three follow-up calls. Other repairmen told me that the parts and schematics for the fridge are not available to any servicemen, not a LG tech. There are very few techs in my area and many other areas as well. Poor service, poor reliability, and dreary repair network available. It’s a problem appliance.

Weve had our LG Double Oven for 8 months now and just discovered that the bottoms of the three (out of five) central knobs are melting from the heat... of the oven (must be). We bought the oven (model number LDG30368ST) at Home Depot. We called and got thru to the Customer Care Rep for HD in Atlanta, and she put us on to an LG rep. He told us they would send replacement knobs. We said they shouldnt send more plastic as they would undoubtedly melt as well. The knobs they sent were plastic as well. We got back onto HD and the local store Expediter helped us. He called LG and got back to us and... they dont HAVE any other knobs... only plastic made to look like stainless steel. Weve since discovered that there have been other people having the same problem who also complained and who also got the same results (or no reply at all). Now it appears our options are to continue getting replacement knobs until the warranty is gone and then paying for them, or stop using the upper oven. LG doesnt care, we bought it, were stuck with it. Poor design, insufficient testing. Well think long and hard before ever buying LG again.

We purchased our refrigerator a little over three years ago. The compressor just went. We lost everything in both the fridge and the freezer. All the ice in the ice maker melted and leaked all over the floor. I called the LG number found the manual. I was on hold for over 30 minutes. The refrigerator “specialist” asked me find the model number and serial number. The place he told me to look was incorrect. He became impatient with me and told me he could only give me three minutes. Three minutes... I found the information (not where he told me to look) and he then gave me the names and numbers of two local appliance repair businesses. When I called one of the numbers I was asked for a PIN # from LG. Apparently the “specialist” was supposed to have given me one because the fridge parts are still under warranty. Now I had to find the receipt for when we purchased the refrigerator. This all happened two days before we were leaving for vacation. So obviously the refrigerator won’t be fixed until after we get back. I’m extremely disappointed with this LG product. I can’t imagine ever buying another LG product. I will certainly be warning friends and family.

Hello to all. YET ANOTHER customer affected by this garbage LG is allowed to sell in the USA. I purchased in 2011 so Im out of warranty but the parts are still covered. Well it took 5 weeks to get a part sent. LG authorized tech came in with a $1,000 bill and a little Google search proves they are bad parts. Leaking freon leaking water that generated a sheet of ice under freezer trays amongst a kitchen floor destroyed by 1 product. Terrible quality products.

Bought an LG refrigerator in November, 2015. (We replaced a GE refrigerator that was 9 years old which worked fine, except that the fan was noisy.) In September, 2018, the LG refrigerator quit working. We discovered water on the floor and found that the ice had melted. All the food was spoiled. Upon contacting LG, we were initially provided a list of companies to contact to get the refrigerator repaired, and all companies were located in Georgia (we are located in Wisconsin). I then contacted a couple local service companies, and both told me that it was the compressor and would cost $1500 to replace (LG does not cover cost of repair after one year) and would take approximately 10 days to get the part and then install. We had no backup refrigerator and neither the vendor we purchased it from nor LG offered a loaner during the lengthy wait. Therefore we had no choice but to buy a new refrigerator. After 3 months of dealing with LG customer service, we were sent a check for $175 to cover spoiled food. I will never purchase another LG product. They take no responsibility for defective products - and from the reviews I’ve now read, there are many defective products bearing the LG brand name.

We recently purchased an LG Gas Range. It became apparent early on that there was a serious and significant manufacturing defect with the knobs which could pose a major safety threat to you and your family and home. Basically, if you even lightly brush up against the knobs, they may turn easily in the on position and either ignite a flame unexpectedly or emit gas also unexpectedly. We have had several near misses of people catching on fire and a few gas emissions which last over 30 minutes. I thought once I contacted LG they would immediately take action -- WRONG -- I am absolutely stunned at their response. They told me that they couldnt do anything about it and that I should buy child safety locks for the knobs. My previous gas stove was in the same location for 17 years and NEVER had this problem. We plan to take legal action since several other consumer have experienced the same problem. Shame on LG. They should be put out of business!

I purchased a French door/double freezer drawer refrigerator in 2011 from Home Depot. I renovated my kitchen in white appliances and cabinets. The control panel/water dispenser, as well as the tops of the drawers and doors have turned a very noticeable yellow. They are made of plastic and no longer match the white of the refrigerator. My house is air conditioned with an automatic dehumidifier. Not that it should matter but I cannot think of any reason this should happen except the parts were made from an inferior plastic. Its made my new expensive refrigerator look old and has ruined my all white kitchen. The ice dispenser is always clogged and difficult to get ice from. My main problem is the look of my refrigerator in my kitchen. I called LG customer service and of course they said its not covered under warranty and there was nothing they would do.

This is the WORST washing machine ever. Not only does it not clean the clothes but the balance issues are enough to drive you crazy. If Im not standing over the machine it can take hours for a load to complete as its constantly off balance. Never again would I purchase anything from this company. Their customer service doesnt exist when they cant admit theyve produced a flawed product and do something about it.
