Manufacturer: LG
MODEL: LDNPH753D
MSRP: $1449.00 USD
LG Dishwasher Model LDNPH753D Error Codes
CODE: IE
PROBLEM: Not filling
FIX: Check that the water supply cut-off valve for the dishwasher is fully open. Check the water inlet supply hose for a kink. Unplug the dishwasher, shut off the water supply and disconnect the inlet supply hose from the inlet water valve. Check the filter screen on the inlet water valve for a clog-replace the valve if the filter screen is clogged.
CODE: OE
PROBLEM: Not draining
FIX: Check the sink drain or garbage disposal for a clog and clear any clogs you find. If the sink or garbage disposal drains okay, pull off the dishwasher drain hose from the sink or garbage disposal connection and check the end of the drain hose for a grease clog. Clear grease clogs from the drain hose. If the dishwasher uses an air gap, check the air gap for clogs and clear any clogs.
CODE: AE or E1
PROBLEM: Water leak detected
FIX: Abnormally high circulation pump speed caused by low water level in the tub can cause the AE or E1 error codes. Water that leaks into the base of the dishwasher cabinet and trips the flood switch can also cause the AE or EI code. Unplug the dishwasher and shut off the water supply. Check the dishwasher cabinet base for water. If water leaked into the base, find and repair the cause of the leak. Water could leak from the water fill line, water inlet guide, drain pump, drain hose, door seals or sump.
CODE: FE
PROBLEM: Water overflow detected
FIX: The drain pump automatically runs when the FE code is displayed. A leaking water inlet valve or a stuck relay on the electronic control board can allow water to fill the dishwasher constantly. To check for a leaky water inlet valve, unplug the dishwasher and see if the tub continues to fill with water. If it does, shut off the water supply and replace the water inlet valve because the valve is letting water to flow into the dishwasher constantly.
CODE: tE
PROBLEM: Thermistor (temperature sensor) failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and disconnect the wires from the thermistor on the heater. Measure the resistance through the thermistor using a multimeter. The meter should measure 11,320 ohms at 75 degrees (room temperature). Replace the heater assembly (which includes the thermistor) if the meter measures less than 1,000 ohms or more than 20,000 ohms.
CODE: LE
PROBLEM: Locked up circulation pump motor
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and check for an obstruction that's preventing the pump impeller from spinning. Remove any debris or foreign objects from the sump. If the pump impeller is clear, check the wiring connections on the pump and reconnect any loose wires. If the wiring connections are okay, unplug the wire harness from the motor and check the resistance through pins 1-2, pins 2-3 and pins 1-3 of the motor using a multimeter. The meter should measure between 8 and 20 ohms (resistance of the motor windings).
CODE: HE
PROBLEM: Heater failure
FIX: This code appears when water isn't heating or when the thermistor (temperature sensor) detects that water temperature is higher than 194 degrees. If water inside the dishwasher tub is extremely hot, measure water temperature using an accurate thermometer. If the thermometer measures water temperature near 190 degrees, then you'll likely need to replace the electronic control board because a stuck heater relay on the control board is causing the heating element to stay on constantly.
CODE: nE
PROBLEM: Diverter motor failure
FIX: Unplug the dishwasher and check the wire harness connections on the diverter motor and diverter position switch. Reconnect any loose wires. If the wiring connections are okay, unplug the diverter motor wires and check resistance through the motor using a multimeter. The meter should measure around 4,000 ohms of resistance. Replace the diverter motor if the meter measure infinite resistance.

LG Dishwasher Model LDNPH753D
As stated in many of the other complaints, I too purchased a LG front loader washer in Nov 2008. My washer wont drain and leaking. My warranty expired first of this month and I have no luck in getting it fixed. I wish I had known about this site before I purchased mine. If you read this dont purchase one.
I purchased an LG refrigerator June of 2015. Upon receiving the fridge just a week later the freezer stopped working. Had it repaired and was under warranty. Now July of 2017 the compressor stopped working. TWO major components on a two year old refrigerator is ridiculous! The customer service at LG is unbelievable. And not in a good way. I called 5 times and got someone different each time. NO ONE CARES there. I was given the runaround for a month now. You wouldnt believe what I went through... I will NEVER buy another LG product, nor will I recommend to anyone. Beware...this company doesnt care! I am now buying a new fridge...after the one that I bought from LG is definitely a lemon. Trust me my new one wont be an LG! Their products are cheaply made and quality is poor. Do not buy! Customers dont matter!
At Thanksgiving our LG refrigerator and freezer stopped working. We bought it new a few years ago and loved its design and size. It was a lot of money for us but we splurged. We called the company we bought it from and they told us to call LG service direct. We could not get any response when calling LG so just decided to get a tech to look at it. Took him a week to get back to us because of the holidays. He told us the sealed freon system was broken and the compressor was toast and he could not do the repair. He charged us for the visit and left. He said it would cost a lot of money to fix - So we tried to contact another service company to fix it. The only one we could find to work on our fridge is a couple of hours away and we have to take the refrigerator to them. It is very heavy and taking it down a flight of stairs is pretty scary and we really dont want to transport it. We called LG again trying to get a service tech to come out to our home to fix it but cant get through to anyone. At this point we are probably going to buy another brand as we have been without a fridge for weeks. If LG wants our business please answer your phones!
Our LG refrigerator has been going strong for over 10 years. Since our kitchen is small, we were limited in the size of refrigerator that we could purchase. LG fits in the kitchen perfectly and for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids, we are able to fit all of items that we need in it. One feature that we love to this day is its ability to produce cubed or crushed ice. It is roomy and easy to clean. Another feature is that fingerprints do not show on the front exterior, which is great when you have little kids.
I called LG service department to warranty my dishwasher pump motor for loud grind, knock noise and found my warranty void due to me diagnosing my own dishwasher (my factory warranty will only cover the part not labor). I offered to send the motor to LG confirm default in pump and I offered to pay a LG service tech to diagnose and confirm the problem with the pump motor and let LG refund me for the service call after confirmation of default, but turned down for both. My only option would have been to pay labor for diagnosis and repair to receive my warranty part for a 6-year-old dishwasher, but does not matter now. My warranty is voided because I diagnosed the problem myself and cant afford to pay to do what I can. Will Never Buy LG Again.
LG20770ST french door 19.7 30 refrigerator - Less than 2 years old, a flimsy 1.5 inch spring on left door flap broke. Fortunately bought 5-year ext. warr. at R.C. Willey. Submitted claim on Willey site on 7/21/14, but had to call after 1 week. Service co. had 3 parts on backorder from LG with no ETA. (3 parts for a tiny spring? I sent them pics with claim). After 2 wks called Willey ext warr dept. They are very nice and helpful. They contacted LG, found the part irreplaceable (DO NOT BUY THIS FRIDGE) and Willey is replacing the refrigerator with the same model. This is the only one I found that fits in my tiny area. I have to buy a new warranty ($129 for 5 years), but worth it as the replacement may have the same problem and I may find myself in the same situation a couple years from now. Another problem with this fridge is there is no sensor on the ice maker for when the freezer drawer is open, and if you have bad timing the ice maker releases the ice even though the drawer is pulled out. Results are you are digging the ice from below the drawer. Who designed this thing? Long story short, save yourself a lot of trouble and buy a different brand.
The knobs on the oven are not safe and are a fire hazard. All you have to do is lean against them a tad and the eyes will turn on. If you have children or animals you do not want this oven in your house. DO Not leave any items on the stove top because the knobs are so sensitive you will start a fire. They need to recall and fix this issue before a fire from this stove/oven causes deaths.
Very disappointed. We paid over $1,200.00 for our washing machine and it lasted us less than 5 years. The bearings are out and it would cost $800 to $850 to repair. Do not get LG products. We also got a refrigerator from LG that is slowly falling apart. When I called LG to express my disappointment, they acted very disinterested and pretty much said, “Thats the way it is.”
I like the freezer, fridge, multiple shelves, the shelves slide out to be cleaned and so do the drawers. There are four drawers including a cheese drawer specifically. I would put an ice maker in it. Also I would put a smart system into it to tell you when youve left the fridge open or tell you when its not working correctly and I would include freezer trays with purchase and water filter along with a digital thermostat. It has met expectations. I was very happy with value and price overall. This fridge is amazing and meets all my needs and or wants but if I had to choose one additional brand over LG itd be Samsung for sure.
Purchased Lg refrigerator in November 2015. March 2018 compressor went out. Lost contents of freezer and refrigerator. Cost of compressor covered but installation and parts needed to replace compressor not covered. Cost me 600$. Average life of refrigerator 14 years, Not LG, Reviews report that there has been a class action suit against LG for this problem.
We have a 5 month old refrigerator that has not been cooling since 11/15/2016. A tech named Jerry came on 11/16/2016 and told us that he will need to call a supervisor for assistance moving the refrigerator in order to repair it but he will call us back that afternoon. (By the way, it’s on rollers. My husband and I were able it with no issue and I’m 7 months pregnant.)We did not hear back from Jerry until a week later on 11/21/2016 even after multiple voicemails. When we called customer service for assistance because we couldnt reach the tech we were told that there was nothing they could do until the following Monday. We went all weekend without a refrigerator and had to throw out ALL of our food. When a different tech finally showed up on Tuesday 11/22/2016 we were told it would be another week (after Thanksgiving) before repairs could be done. Now we have to wait until 11/28/2016 (please remember that the refrigerator stopped working on 11/15/2016).In the meantime I have no way of storing milk for my two-year old whos been eating fast food every day because we have no way of keeping food cold. I called and spoke with corporate supervisor LeeAnn who was extremely unhelpful and rude. She told me I’d just have to wait a week and didn’t offer any solutions or to help us a bit. From the second she came on the phone, she was argumentative and acted as if I was inconveniencing her. We’ve had to call all of our family and cancel Thanksgiving. I understand that it’s Thanksgiving week and that getting someone out to repair the refrigerator might be an issue; however, we actually called the issue in a week before Thanksgiving. If something had been done then we wouldn’t be in the predicament!
I too have had the exact same problems that Karen of Fort Wright posted on Oct. 22, 2012. I also bought my LG French door refrigerator 3 1/2 years ago from Sears. I was planning to purchase a Kenmore, but i would have to wait almost 2 weeks which I couldnt do. The salesman talked me into getting the LG model (August 2009). After 14 months of use, the fridge stopped working (October 2010)! I didnt purchase the extended warranty (never have found them worth paying for as I have never needed to use one). Needless to say, I contacted Sears for repair. The repairman diagnosed a blown fuse, which meant replacing the circuit board also. Repair was approximately $300.00 in all. The fridge has been working fine until yesterday, Dec. 21, 2012! Of course because it is only 5 days before Christmas, we were fully stocked up and expecting a houseful of company on the 25th! We had to empty everything out! Run all of this food out to the garage, wipe the fridge down so it doesnt smell and hope the authorized repairman can stop by sometime Christmas eve. He is only working a half day, but I will try to make it. Talk about pressure! This is just terrible, terrible timing. A terrible waste of money and a terrible product! Save your self the headache and do not purchase LG! Not only expensive to repair (with or without the warranty), but extremely frustrating!
We have had this range for approximately 7 years. Worked fine until today, which now that I have read the reviews - THE GOOD LORD IS WATCHING OVER US! My 12 yr. old son was helping me cook lunch and we were finished and we turned the large right front burner off and it said H5 but it was bright red and hot. The burner would not turn off so I had to run to the basement and flip the range circuit breaker off. I will never get another LG product and I will make sure everyone else knows that too!!!!! And who keeps a receipt for that long?!?!
Bought an LG washer (Model WT5001CW) 1/2/11 from Home Depot with the in-home extended warranty in effect 1/2/12-1/2/16. The panel under the bleach tray has started to completely erode and even showed signs early on. Received a total run around and was told rust is not covered under the warranty. I tried to explain that it was due to defective materials. This is a known issue by LG and they refuse to take responsibility. Home Depot refers me to Federal Warranty Service Corporation/Assurant for the extended warranty and they refer me to Home Depot. Never again will I purchase anything from LG.
I purchased an LG refrigerator (Model: LFD22860SW) in March of 2007. The light lens in the fridge part melted and light sockets brown one bulb melted in. Sears gave me an unacceptable three-week wait for the service. For $251.00, they can come out sooner. The local appliance store gets my new and repair business going forward. LG = Lost Groceries SEARS = Not so solid
My LG washer turned itself on when I was not at home. It filled up with water and because it was not in a cycle the door wasnt locked so the pressure from the water pushed the door open and the water continued to pour out. I came home to my house being flooded, water went through my vents and into my crawlspace. When the repairman came he witnessed the washer doing it all over again! I called LG, they told me to get 2 estimates, send them pictures, fill out documents and send them my old parts and I did. I thought they were going to help. I am now going into my 6th week of them leading me on to believe they are going to help me. They keep saying they have to do testing then they said they had to send the main control panel to Korea for further testing. I have over 30,000 in damages, my daughter is allergic to mold and not one person at LG gives a hoot! I am setting my LG washer & dryer at the end of my driveway (its 3 years old) I will never ever purchase anything with those initials on it again! Their customer service is as bad as their product! Oh it also leaks water from underneath during wash cycle too. The lady asked me at one point what cycle was your washer in when it leaked. I said AGAIN my washer was not in a CYCLE and it did not LEAK. It turned itself on, filled with water and sent out about 70 gallons of water. If you want to know what cycle my washer was in.... ask the washer! I had it on OFF!
LG is more reliable and durable than many other brands and offers me what I want. It has met my initial expectations but Im hoping for more in the future in all honesty. I like that there are premium capabilities that allow me to have different set ups and it makes me excited to be able to use the refrigerator everyday. I would want the refrigerator to be used well and have an ice machine that is quality. Some other brands may be a little bit more aesthetically attractive though in a sense.
I will never buy an LG washing machine again. They are the worst. Two different internal parts broke and LG would not cover it, plus they hung up on me three times. Total cost for both parts to fix was $310, installed by another company not affiliated with LG.
For the front loading washer needs to find a way to drain better so that it doesn’t smell and leave a bad aroma not only in the washer on the clothes which then makes the dryer smell but also the laundry room and area.
16th May 1st complaint that fridge was freezing and leaking and getting mould. Technician came and tried to fix it. 25th July 2nd complaint still doing it. Technician came and said he would find out how to fix it and order parts but it would take 6-8 weeks. Never heard from them again. 16th October 3rd complaint technician attended and told me that the fridge was unfixable. That it would need to be replaced. Waited 2 weeks. Heard nothing, contacted the “customer care line” they told me I had refused to allow it to be fixed. You tell me. What sane person refuses to have their fridge fixed?2/12 4th technician attended took photos, was here for 2 minutes and left. Every couple of days I have contacted the so called customer care team and they tell me that the technician hasn’t sent a report. The technician tells me he has and has sent it also to the state manager. Every two days I get told someone will call me back. NOBODY has ever called me back. Today it’s the 18/12/19 and I am putting Christmas food in to a fridge full of mould and just want to cry my eyes out.
I purchased a brand-new LG refrigerator on March 1, 2012 for approximately $3,000.00. On July 12, I arrived home to find the refrigerator making a very loud noise. I opened our freezer to find that all of its contents were completely defrosted and sitting in a pool of water. I contacted PC Richards where we purchased it from, and since we purchased an extended warranty with them, they sent someone to fix it for us a week later. Since all of our food had been defrosted, it had gone bad in the extreme heat. A few days before the incident, we had spent our paycheck on stocking the freezer with our meals for the next 2 weeks. We had spent about $150-200 on meats, fish, frozen fruit, frozen vegetables, ice pops, etc. We were now left with no food to eat and very little money. PC Richards informed us that the product was defective from the manufacturer because the freezer fan had failed. I contacted LG, asking to be reimbursed for the $150 (even though, it was more) in groceries that we had lost. I had purchased this machine in March. Never did I imagine in July that something would happen to it or that it would break without any of our doing at all. We spent $3000 on this machine. It is so unfair that we should lose all that money in groceries for no reason. It is unfair and bad business. LG was very rude and insisted there was nothing they could do for us. I dont see how that is possible, seeing as it was their machine. They are a multi-million dollar company, and they put a defective unit on the market. It is only right I be reimbursed for what I lost.
Used broiler one time. Noticed the knobs looked as if they were melting. Called customer service. I asked if there was a recall. They know, they said they were sending a set of new knobs at no charge. Called over a week later. They said it was denied. I did not receive a reject letter or call from LG. Filed a complaint with them on the phone. Receive a complaint number. Filed another complaint on line today and on this web site I agree there should be a recall for the stove knobs or a way of fixing the problem.
My LG 8.5 front loader machine is noisy. Bangs and rattles when spins at 1400. Revs. Clothes are tangled when washing. It was ok for two weeks then it started rattling. Would not recommend this washer.
This stainless steel dishwasher is only 2 1/2 years old and must be replaced. I have struggled with dirty glasses and dishes the entire time. The washer sweats after cycle finishes and leaves a gritty film and smell. The inside has developed a nasty clouded surface that must be wiped out with each use. The rinse aid helps only a little and I have also used vinegar and CLR to clean it out. Nothing works. A repairman ($75) said the arms were hopeless clogged and recommended buying a new washer. This one cost over $750!!!
I bought an LG Refrigerator in 5/2011. Three months out of warranty and I spent $533.00 today to fix 3 parts. Now fridges are supposed to last 10-12 years. There’s only one person in the house so it is not abused. I called and of course outsourcing. I spoke to the executive complaint department. If I didnt have the repairman fixing it, they would consider possibly helping out. Since my repairman was repairing the flawed parts, and the refrigerator was warm, how much longer should I wait for their technician to come out? Someone needs to start a class action lawsuit against LG since so many people have complaints about their product. The parts are cheap, they break. This wasnt a couple of dollars to just throw away but with the repair cost, should I have bought another refrigerator? What is going to go next?
I have very very bad experience with LG Refrigerators since from last 3 months compressor broke 2 times and gas pipe leak issue, once lost my food 3 times and made my wood flooring spoiled with the water leakage. They are not willing to replace my food loss or neither replace my fridge with new one. I keep calling customer care and they are denying both of my requests. I am thinking of approaching consumer court now. This is totally not acceptable for new refrigerator of 3 years old. Thanks.
Updated on 06/24/2021: A lot has happened behind the scenes since I made the first post. LG stepped in and offered to set the situation right, so I gave them the opportunity to do so. As you will read here, not only did they fail to make things right, they ended up making it worse. I warn you now, it is not a short read. March 30-Must have gotten someone’s attention. An unidentified person (this is a trend) PMed me via Consumer Affairs (CA) and offered to address the situation. They asked for some info, including billing address for the original purchase. I gave info and waited.April 2- Offer to repair machine at their expense is forwarded to me through CA by an unidentified person. I agree to offer. Sometime after this point, LG orders 2 replacement parts, a new main control board and a display board. I am not sure why the control board was ordered, as it was obvious the display board was the problem. The display board is the problem on every one of these machines.April 6-I get a notification by text from a random number (never identified) informing me that I recently scheduled service for my machine to be performed on April 8. Only problem is, I didn’t schedule service. Someone from LG (never identified) took it upon themselves to schedule this service without consulting me as to whether this was an acceptable time. The text number this was sent from could not receive return calls or texts, and no contact information was available to reach out about this scheduled appointment. After some digging around on the LG site, I figured out that the service was indeed scheduled, and also found out at this time that the above-mentioned parts had been ordered (one part was on backorder) and shipped to the billing address I originally gave on CA. Only problem with this is that the machine is not at the billing address, therefore both the parts and the service tech were heading to the wrong address. If someone had contacted me when the appointment was made, I could have given the correct address. If some useable contact information was made available to me, or if anyone in this process so far had identified themselves, I could have shared the situation with the incorrect address. But none of those things had happened. I share this latest update with the unidentified PM contact on CA.April 7- A box arrives from LG. I open it to find a new control board. Not the display (the part that is actually broken) but the other random part. Turns out that the display board is on national backorder. Not surprising since the OEM display boards have a 100% failure rate. With every single unit of this model needing this part replaced, demand is clearly high.April 8-Tech Visit #1. The service technician calls me to tell me he is 10 minutes away. I then tell him that he is 10 minutes away from the wrong address. He finally gets to the machine (I was able to be there), swaps out the mainboard, figures out mainboard is not the problem. I knew this already. So did the tech before even doing the job. Once he determined the main board was not the problem, he swapped the original board back into the machine and left, planning to return when the display board arrived. Since the mainboard did not appear bad, he returned the new mainboard to LG. This would prove to be a regretful decision.April 13- New display board arrives. I contact service tech and he schedules the next day to come install it. April 14-Tech shows up for Visit #2 (the fact I am giving numerical designations to tech visits should tell you something) and installs display board. I am not at the house this time, or much of the remaining catastrophe would likely have been avoided. According to my wife, he swapped out the board, hit the power button to see it power up, packed up his stuff and left. He did no function check or system diagnosis whatsoever, just looked for the lights to power up. He also went into the LG service system and reported the repair job complete. It was not, and the fact that he did report it as such would create problems down the road. After tech leaves, wife loads machine and tries to run it. After about a minute, it shut down and gave an error code indicating no water flow. I get home and check water supply to make sure that we didn’t have that turned off. I will also mention at this time that I have degrees in both electronic and mechanical engineering, and have been working as a design engineer and troubleshooting technician for electro-mechanical systems over 30 years. So I was able to deduce that we had sufficient water flow, but the electric water valve in the machine was not turning on. I contacted the tech, and he informed me he would come by the next day and check it out.April 15- Tech comes back for Visit #3. During this visit I learned the tech was a refrigeration expert, and had limited experience with dishwashers. He was competent, just not that experienced with LG dishwashers. He figures out that he had plugged something together incorrectly. I am not clear whether this mistake was made during Visit #1 and the incorrect connection was made at the mainboard, or during Visit #2 and the incorrect connection was made at the display board. I suspect it was #1 and the problem was at the mainboard because one of the connectors he attached incorrectly was to the main water valve, thus the valve did not work, as I had identified. Wherever the problem, he swapped the connectors around, ran a diagnostic, declared it good, and left again. When we powered up the machine I could hear the water valve now working, but after about a minute, the same error code and shutdown occurred.April 15 Part 2-The tech comes back that night for Visit #4 (told you we needed numbering). I am there, and we spend quite a bit of time checking out the machine. I teach him a few things about how the systems operate, and using some of my electronic testing equipment we figure out that the system is not seeing a signal from the water flow sensor. Hoping sensor might be bad, the tech ordered a replacement sensor.April 20-Tech got part, and stops by for Visit #5. Flow sensor not the problem. He spends over 2 hours of troubleshooting, including 2 calls to the service center for technical support. They go through everything, including checking the wiring harness. Nothing bad with wiring, but the mainboard is not supplying power to the sensor. It was never admitted to me, but I will bet a month’s pay that when he incorrectly connected the plugs in Visit #1 or #2, the sensor power supply on the mainboard was damaged. If he had not already sent back the new mainboard (remember I said this would be a regretful decision?) he could have swapped in the new board and likely fixed the problem. But he didn’t have the parts, and he was eventually told by the Service Center to stop attempting repair and RMA the machine.April 21- An unidentified person contacted me by text to inform me that the Alternate Resolution claim was started. But I should be prepared for it to be denied because the computer system says that all parts are functional. Remember the tech incorrectly reporting the machine repaired after Visit #2? An explanation by myself containing actual factual information and logic did nothing to change the response.April 23- I receive a phone call from LG asking about how I rated the service I had received in early April. Because the tech had reported he completed the repair, the gentleman calling me had no idea the job was botched, and he wanted to know how I rated my service experience on my freshly-repaired and perfectly-operating LG dishwasher. I don’t think he was very fond of my answers.May 1- Received voice mail from someone at LG telling me I was to be offered a bit over $500 for my permanently broken $1k machine. It further instructed me to contact Shakiah M about payout. May 5-When I talk to Shakiah, I’m told the actual number offered is even less. After several back and forth discussions on both text message and email, I agree to accept the offer, as long as there is no legally-binding contract included. I am assured there is not.Side note: It’s bad enough that almost no one from LG ever identifies themselves, but I am even more amazed by the amount of correspondence throughout this process done by text message on a cell phone. Is this what we call professional corporate behavior in 2021? Text messages? What are we, high-schoolers? May 28- Finally get a written offer. And that assurance there is no legally-binding component to the offer? Not true. I must waive off all rights to pursue further action if I accept this offer.Let’s recap: I started this process with a top-shelf machine with a single defective part. A $200 replacement part and 15 minutes of effort to install this part would have fixed my machine. But thanks to the mistake made by the service tech, I now have a junk machine. And what is the offer from LG after three months of hassle to fix all of this? Half what it will cost to replace it. Now I have a choice. LG is so in breach of contract here (not the warranty, BTW) that I will almost assuredly win in court. But small claims court is a hassle. I have tried to give LG the opportunity to make this right, and they continue to fail me, and will no longer even respond to me.30 day deadline to accept offer is June 27, three days from now. If LG really wants to make this right, then they need to do something better than half replacement cost for a machine THEY BROKE. If not, looks like I will see them in court. And I won’t be suing for just the cost of the machine. Punitive damages will be added on as well, and I have high confidence in my case and my ability to present it. I have been an expert witness in court proceedings several times, so court does not faze me. I don’t want the hassle of it, but I won’t be treated as a pushover either. This is LG’s mistake, LG needs to fix it with a reasonable offer.Original Review: We bought an LG LDP6797BD dishwasher in 2018, with the intentions of putting it in our house being remodeled. We used it in our rental home for about 8-10 months before removing it from service and putting it in storage. It never got installed in the house, so after sitting for 2 years, we pulled it out of storage and put it in another rental property where it has worked flawlessly for 5 months. Now after a total service life of 13-15 months, we walk in the kitchen one day to find it dead. Wont power up, wont light up, wont reset. Looking at a few videos, I picked up a line filter. Not the problem. In fact, once I had it apart to change the line filter, I could see the red LED lighting on the board. So clearly it has power. Then after some more research, I find the web full of similar complaints. The number of purchasers with failures occurring, conveniently almost immediately after the end of their one-year warranty, is simply staggering. The Amazon listing for this dishwasher has 100% 1-Star ratings. Let that sink in. 100% 1-star ratings, I have never seen that on ANYTHING in my life. And especially not on an item that costs $1000. This design clearly has a significant design flaw somewhere. The number of instances of identical failure occurring within a span of 12-16 months of service life is not a coincidence, and this statement is coming from a highly-experienced engineer with 3 decades of experience in design and manufacture of electro-mechanical systems. I know better than to believe that any manufacturer can take products to market and NEVER make a mistake in the design cycle. But what that manufacturer chooses to do about it when mistakes happen is what defines a company. This machine has a major design flaw, LG knows it, and apparently has chosen to do nothing about it. And I guess they have a right to not do anything about it. Well, I have a right to do something about it as well. If LG continues to leave customers like myself that spent quite a bit of money on a clearly defective product, then it will be the last of my money LG will ever see. And I will go out of my way, every chance I get, to encourage as many people as possible to also not ever spend THEIR money on an LG product. This is site number 2 for the day, I wonder how many more times I can tell this story before the weekend is over?If LG believes that not addressing this issue will save them money, I can assure you it will not. They will lose far more money from me alone than what it would cost them to make this right with me. Add to that lost revenue the amount of money they will lose with all the people I convince to not ever buy LG as well, and this will quickly become an expensive mistake many, many times over what it would take to fix it. If everyone else being screwed does the same, we can make a statement that LG simply will not be able to ignore. LG, the ball is in your court.
The refrigerator is side by side, 27 cubic foot capacity and without the water and ice in the door feature. It has been a good refrigerator but not a great one. The price was what I was willing to pay and it got ok reviews from Consumer Reports. I would have liked the capacity to have been greater. If anything I would have expected that it would have been better made. I bought the refrigerator because it was on sale at Home Depot and they offered free delivery and installation. If another highly rated refrigerator had been on sale near the same price, then I would have bought it.
We have now replaced both the main board and control board on our LG front load washer all within 8 months. The cost now equals what we paid for the washer. We are not happy! The service repairman informed me that we needed to put a surge protector on the machine. He used to work for the manufacturer! Where in the manual is that mentioned? For only $5.00, we could have saved well over $1,000 for replacement and service. Why is this not told to the consumer when the machine was purchased? Has anyone else experienced this? Were you told to plug in a surge protector?
I purchased my LG French Door Refrigerator in August of 2013. It worked great until earlier this week when it completely stopped cooling after only 2 1/2 years of use. I called LG and was sent to an overseas call center where someone reading from a script was quick to inform me that the 1 year warranty of my $2,000 appliance had expired. Not only did they not make any effort to help me, all they did was provide the names of two non-local companies who could service my appliance at my expense. I called the companies who would not travel to my home. I called LG back and they told me to find a repair person myself because they have no authorized repair people in my area. I did find a repair person to look at it and it was determined to be a sealed system failure which would be covered under my limited parts warranty. I called LG back and they have no one in my area that will work on a sealed system failure on their product. I have a completely useless product and no one to fix it. I paid $2000 for a refrigerator and I am storing my groceries in a cooler in my garage. I have never received such horrible customer service and I would strongly caution anyone considering an LG appliance to NOT do it! I will NEVER do business with this company again.
In my last LG fridge it had the see through door that lit up when you tapped it and I actually really like that feature. It saves power to not have to open the door to gaze into the fridge when unsure of what to eat. The only thing I disliked about it was how slow the water came out of the door. I dont know if this was a filter design problem or what but I tried everything to rectify the problem and nothing worked. I chose to buy the fridge because its a brand I trust and the price was reasonable. Overall I would say that it did meet my expectations.
Well this is the third time a service person has been out. When I called about the UE the first time I was told it was out of balance. I assured the person that it was doing this even with only 3 pieces of clothing in the machine and that the machine was balanced and checked with a level. So they send someone out to look at it and say it needs a computer part. Great parts ordered and problem solved. Wrong!!! Needless to say not very long after we end up having an issue that the UE goes on then the machine starts to go back to 20 minutes when there was only 5 minutes left. It does this 6 times and 2 hours later still messing with it, I call for service again. Well, again we need another part. Now a few months later, which brings us to this month July 2016 we have UE and the washer is now turning its lights on like it is going to start up without having any laundry in it and nobody being in the room. If it does successfully get a load done it will not turn the lights off. Service out again and another order for more parts. Gee, you would think LG would want to keep up good business practices and recall the washers. If a business backs its mistakes, it makes you want to purchase their brand again but if they dont then you run far away and tell anyone that will listen. My electric is sky high to begin with because it is Toledo Edison and now with the washer issues it is even worse. Nobody should have to wait 2 hours on a quick wash. I personally will not buy LG anymore and will make sure to tell people when I see them in stores shopping for washers to find another brand.
I had cracked the glass top on my previous LG range as a glass bottle fell out of the cabinet over the range. We went shopping for a similar range and I thought the model I was purchasing was self clean. We were in a family crisis at the time so I didnt do my normal research. I know the sales associate realized I wanted self clean so I really didnt pay enough attention. It was a while before we really used the range as we were out of town with the family situation. I have watched the videos regarding easy clean and LG claims small spots, light soil are easily cleaned after the easy clean cycle. I have run the easy clean three times today to clean light soil and it doesnt clean up with plenty of elbow grease. Ugh. I should also mention my husband has had to take the glass out of the door twice to clean soil or grease. We are retired so its not that we are always cooking.
My washer is less than a year old. Already had to replace 4 parts, one is the motor and electronic board and couple other parts! Due to a UE code it was throwing for being unbalance. The other thing it was doing is turning off on its own and not coming back on unless we unplugged it and then turned it back on then it would work! This happened a couple times. I am happy I have a 4 yr warranty!
I bought an LG large capacity washer and dryer 6 years ago. I paid over $1600 for the pair at Home Depot. There are only 3 in my family so I dont have a lot of laundry like some larger families do. Just recently, my washer had a smell like something was on fire and making a banging noise. I called the LG repair service and a rep came out to take a look. He told me that the bearings were wearing out on the tub and to fix it, they would have to change the whole tub for about $450. Seriously! They just dont make products like they used to. I will never buy an LG product again.
Dishwasher consistently had been flushing and would not work. Weve had the repair guy out a couple of times but he acts like hed rather be somewhere else. We asked for a different guy since he hasnt been able to resolve our problem 3 times. There is no other guy. Now it is flashing. The dishwasher has worked on and off for about a year. Were just getting a new one - NOT LG.
I have purchased several LG kitchen appliances. The overall quality is good, lots of convenience features and pleasant appearance. When they are working they are great. However if you ever need LG repair service have patience. They are the worst for scheduling your service and even worst still to actually get a technician to your appliance. This means that you are without the use of your appliance for up to 90 days or longer. Also the appliances are expensive and the warranty is only 1 year, which is standard and really burns me. When you spend nearly $2000 for an electric stove and the manufacturer only puts a 1 year warranty on it, that says something about how it was made and the level of confidence the manufacturer has in their product. I prefer American made products but sadly there aren’t many major appliances that are American made anymore.
DRN #**. I have an offer for refund of the defective refrigerator but they dont answer my calls, my txts and my emails. This claim started Feb 5 2021 when my refrigerator stopped working for the second time in less than two years. 3 companies certified it could not be repaired, one of them came 6 times in the middle of a pandemia (and broke a tile in my kitchen with their equipment). 2 months without refrigerator buying ice for a cooler with small children in the house and me being diabetic without being able to follow my diet. Around 100 hours in the phone taken from my work time. I have spoken to at least 30 people from LGE.... I sent sticker with serial number, proof of purchase, address, email.... Not even one call back from LGE and always expecting an email back before 72 hours. Multiple DRNs that got cancelled without even being notified. What kind of customer support is this?
This design of this dishwasher is a nightmare. Ive actually read the manual on how to load this dishwasher thinking maybe I was doing something wrong. There is nowhere in the dishwasher where plates stand up. The tines are awkwardly placed, and continually fall down, so maybe a few bowls can go in, but they land flat on their back, pointing up when tines collapse (not exactly conducive to cleaning). Its as though the bottom rack is made to handle a couple of large pots and maybe two or three bowls. The top rack is also strangely designed and again has very little capacity to handle many dishes or glasses. When the bottom rack has dishes in it and I open it, the weight on the door causes the whole machine to start falling out of the wall. Ive probably owned ten dishwashers and can honestly state that I cant even rate this as working. Im literally having it replaced and throwing it away if I cant get Home Depot to take it back... Its less than a month old but I just cannot stand it. Ill pay twice for installation but it will be worth it because otherwise Ill be washing everything by hand. I also bought LG refrigerator and micro... nothing special about them, but I guess I should be grateful they work.
Purchased a LG 1.5 ft.³ smart inverter microwave oven in August 2019. Three weeks later the unit quit heating. I called LG customer support and was eventually told the magnetron was defective. I was told I could send the microwave back to LG and they would replace me with a brand new one. Not wanting to wait, I decided to return the microwave to Home Depot where it was purchased and was given a full refund. Because Home Depot‘s return policy includes a 90 day exchange or refund, I decided to purchase a different brand. The moral to this story is don’t wait on LG to refund, replace, or repair your appliance if it is newer than three months. Take it back to the store you bought it from instead. Far less stressful.
My LG refrigerator has shown weird behaviors and lately ER CO on display and shortly stopped making ice. The biggest problem is that the LG service team have no idea of how to fix it and now after 6.5 months of 5 visits and over 12 hrs of phone calls, they have GIVEN UP asking me to buy another fridge. Here are the clear problems with LG tech - a) Tech is under skilled - Over the 5 visits, the technicians came up with different diagnosis. b) No follow ups - There were no follow-ups (I repeat no follow-up) from LG on the next steps after the tech shared the diagnosis info. c) No handover within their teams - Every time when I called their customer care, I spoke to a new person and I had to repeat the whole story again and was provided with new (and may times repeated) steps to follow. d) Tier 2 drops the ball - Very good on the phone, but once off the phone, no easy way to catch. e) Only escalations work - I took to the social media, only when I got their attention and someone senior started looking into the problem and whole history of correspondence.f) No outcome - But in spite of engagement from seniors, the problem remained unresolved and finally they gave up asking me to buy a new fridge.I lost 3 working days to attend the technician visit and over 12 hrs of office time on phone. Total $ equivalent of this time loss is over $5000. Highly recommend avoiding LG appliances.
Bought a LG freezer on bottom fridge on top 3 years ago. Last Thursday it stopped working. Lost all my food. Called repair guy. Said it was compressor. LG offered to warranty complete repair, but one week later, 6 hrs on the phone and still dont have a repair appointment.
The LG is great. There is plenty of room for large trays or platters. Unlike most refrigerators today the design lets you utilize maximum interior space. Freezer is also very large. The only thing missing is sliding shelves. Well worth the price.
My washer quit before completing its cycle. When I opened it to unload my laundry, it was still full of water. I closed the door and pressed the rinse/spin button. But it stopped again before completion, and the same thing again. This time I couldnt even open the door. Nothing seemed to work. Finally, after pushing buttons, it went completely through the rinse/spin cycle. I dont want to call La Mesa Appliance who is a factory approved service for LG, because I called them some months ago when the softener cup held water after the washer had completed its cycle. The repairman said this was normal, but it hadnt done this before, so I dont believe that. Meanwhile, I pull the drawer out and empty it after each wash. Im unsure whom to call for repairs.
My refrigerator is only four years old, and the motherboard went out on it. I spoke to numerous appliance repair companies, and they told me they will not deal with LG because of their bad customer service, and the part will take up to eight weeks to receive. I found a company that would order it, and Im still waiting for the part which was ordered on September 17. I would not buy any LG product because of this. I have been without a refrigerator for almost two months.
I purchased a full set of LG kitchen appliances and after 18 months they all have problems! Bottom line, terrible waste of money! Both ice makers I the fridge are broken, door switch on the dishwasher is broken, oven doesnt preheat to the correct temp.. Over $5k in complete garbage. Please avoid LG.
My husband and I bought an LG LSXS22423S side by side refrigerator and after less than 2.5 years, the refrigerator quit cooling. I called the consumer line and they did a phone diagnostic test (which was useless) and came back and said, You have had the doors opened too much today. Of course I have, the unit shut down its cooling and everything was defrosted and water was running out the bottom. I am so disappointed in this and was warned by a salesman that LG would not last. I will have to pay $300.00 to $400.00 to have a repairman come and fix it.
My family member purchased this brand new refrigerator and in six months the ice machine was not working. We called LG for service and their diagnostic testing resolution was to not open the refrigerator door too often. We responded that opening the doors should not cause the ice machine to malfunction. We reset it; and eight months later the compressor goes. This thing is a lemon. What saved us from further expenses is the fact we had purchased the extended warranty. We did lose food and LG reimbursed us up to $300.00 for the loss. There is no way that a $4000.00 fridge should be breaking down this fast. We have had models costing far less (hundreds) that has lasted 15-20 years: the repair man stated these smart models will only be lasting 6-8 years. Ours hasnt lasted six months to just over a year. My advise, keep it simple, and avoid LG products. There was a local news story that LG contracts out the parts production to many different smaller companies all over the world, so they cant be blamed for their lemons. One must sue the parts company.
LG ventless dryer purchased in 2012 for about $900 at Home Depot. It dies two weeks after warranty expires. Trip charge $72, replace control board $250, labor $100. Total $422 repairs. Do not buy LG products.
7/17/2017 purchased a Sears Elite Stainless Steel side-by-side Grab and Go refrigerator model 51863. The product had the Sears brand but found it was made by LG for Sears. 8/8/2019 freezer and refrigerator sides were warm and melting. A Sears and a none Sears serviceman (2) came and diagnosed the problem to be the linear compressor which was made by LG had gone out. This was a new beautiful looking refrigerator just over over 2 years old. Paid $1751 for it and it would cost $1000.00 to repair. Wrote Sears Vice President of Customer Experience. Received a phone call from their Executive Complaint Department and spoke with a Debra (or Deborah) who after lengthy conversations told me that since I did not have an extended warranty, there was nothing they could do.I was livid. Researched and found hundreds of customers who has had this problem and also found there is a class action law suit pending awaiting to see if the courts would approve it. After the poor treatment from Sears, and after having read that some replaced compressors went out again, I opted to buy a none LG brand refrigerator. Spent total of $3000.00 here.3/9/2017 purchased an LG 65 smart TV from Sams Club. Model: 65UH615A for $1000.00. I have 4 other TVs, none of which are LG brands. The oldest TV is over 12 years old and I watch it the most and have had no problems with it or any of the others. 4/25/2020 the LG model went out. Yes, the TV that I have had just over 3 years! I get a black screen. Researched online and it appears the motherboard is shot. Have a call in to a repair person. WHAT is UP with these LG products? How disappointing is this. I really thought that LG was a good brand but my experience dictates otherwise. 2018 purchased an LG Stylo 4 from Sprint and am now having problem with this phone when I log it up. This phone is just over 2 years old. I am so very disappointed in the LG BRAND and will make no more purchases by LG. I also will not refer this product due to my bad experiences.
Have had washing machine for only 3 years and have rust completely around the bleach dispenser. Contacted LG and they said it was due to spilling solvents on the machine. Its a bleach dispenser! Gave me no satisfaction, basically said it was my fault. Have never had a machine rust before.
I dont understand why LG would think we are so stupid that we would leave the refrigerator door opened! It beeps and keeps beeping when I am trying to clean it or look for something. This doesnt make any sense to me, and I find it very annoying that LG would think consumers are this stupid.
I purchased the LG LFX31925SW/04 in May of 2013. Within a very short period of time the compressor went and it stopped cooling. The part was replaced and covered by warranty. The ice maker had problems freezing up from the very get-go. I just learned to take a spoon and open the compartment in the door to break it up. The door must not keep it cool enough to remain frozen. There are only two of us who live in this house so its not being opened and closed frequently. At about year 2 1/2 the area under directly the ice make maker started rusting and became very unsightly. My husband tried to fix it and of course you can not get a professional finish at home. I called the warranty dept. of LG and they informed me it was not covered under warranty because its considered cosmetic! I would not agree, given that the poor design it what is causing this issue. The metal obviously on the front of the fridge is not rust resistant. It now looks like it came from the local thrift shop. We live in an air-conditioned home with low humidity. UGH! The refrigerator door on the right side is now not closing and it must be another design flaw because it is mentioned repeatedly online as an issue. The cost of the French door refrigerator was $2400. And that was 5 years ago. I bought the microwave and the dishwasher at the same time. They have functioned ok, but I would never buy LG again given my experience with the product and the customer service!
We have both a front load washer and dryer (Model WM0642H). Ive been reading the letters being sent for over an hour. I wish I had known about this site before I purchased any LG anything! The pump went out on our washer last fall. At that time, it was under the extended warranty. The tech came out and diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. In the meantime, we were going to the laundromat, at a cost of about $60 each time. I called the repair company after a week. They were still waiting for approval from the pump/repair - another $60 trip to the laundromat. I called after another week - still waiting, another $60 out the door. Finally, I called HHGregg for help. They contacted LG and finally got the ball rolling. Now, about 6-7 months later, the pump is gone again. How much money and how many trips to the laundromat will it take this time? My husband says he will just fix it himself this time, but you can get no help from LG. They will not give a customer the schematic. After reading all these letters, and from our experiences, we will never give another dollar to LG. Their products are not cheap dollar wise, but certainly are cheaply made. We are looking at refrigerators and were considering an LG. That will not happen! I cant believe I fell for the hype. LG appliances are rated among the best. Makes you wonder just how they got those ratings. It does not appear they were from actual customers!
Our direct drive, load self-balancing, year and a half old machine has been exhibiting all the unbalanced load problems frequently mentioned in reviews that I found after my wife told me that she keeps getting EU code indicating an unbalanced load which she redistributes by hand, followed by standing over the machine and holding it as steady as possible in order to finish the loads. When I tried to change the spin speed to low, the machine spun as fast as ever. After reading the other reviewers experience with LGs customer relations I intend to go out tomorrow and buy a non-LG washing machine and try to support any class action lawsuits that are inevitable (I hope). Maybe after their exploding cell phone problems are over, they will take care of their appliance customers. As one of the other reviewers mentioned, it seems as if LG didnt do their due diligence when it comes to product testing prior to bringing to market.
On March 28, 2015 our LG front load machine was run on the tub clean cycle. It overfilled with water and the door seal failed. Water poured out of the machine and it just kept on filling. Water damaged several rooms in our home. We handled the emergency by shutting off the water supply. Hooking up shop vacs to the drain hose to empty the water in the machine. Shop vacs were filled many times over to clean up the floors and empty the machine. Commercial Dehumidifiers, floor dryers and fans were brought in to try and save the wood and tile floors, cabinetry and personal things. Water bubbled out of the wood floors in our new home.We contacted our retailer, Grand Appliance in Madison Wisconsin and they said they will file a claim with LG, but that LG doesnt typically cover both replacing the defective machine and repairing the damages caused. I will report back when we have something in writing from LG, but we are not happy that they havent responded yet and even more unhappy that the retailer cannot assure us the manufacturer will make this right.
Bought a French door May 2017 from Costco, compressor failure happened after 2 years. After surviving without a fridge for 2 weeks as a family of 5, with 3 young growing boys, the compressor was finally replaced. It was explained that LG built these fridges knowing the compressors were not compatible and that they would fail. That compressor repair last 3 months... I have spoiled food 2 times thanks to this LG nightmare. We finally replaced this fridge after the 2nd failure as we need a dependable fridge. I have submitted for food spoilage reimbursement multiple times but LG is refusing to reimburse me due to the purchase receipt copy provided from Costco doesn’t have the ‘Costco logo’ on it. WTHECK?! We’re now a whirlpool, I will never do business with LG again. Worst experience of my life and I will be pursuing any lawsuit for these defective refrigerators.
We purchased a new dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and over the stove microwave oven in 2009 when we renovated our kitchen. We have since had the refrigerator repaired and replaced the dishwasher (with a Kenmore Elite) altogether because the door was leaking and ruined our hardwood floor. We fixed the microwave push button panel once and our stove has never functioned properly. The flames do not come out of the stove top in an even pattern. Now our push button panel on the microwave has quit working again (less than two months after it was replaced for malfunctioning before). These were all bought from Home Depot, brand new. I would not say anything bad about LG with a problem occurring in only one appliance in that period of time, but all four appliances having problems? I will never purchase LG again. I can assure you I will tell everyone I know not to purchase this brand of anything since four different appliances have proved faulty/non-functioning.
I will NEVER purchase a LG product. My sister purchased a brand new refrigerator and it stopped working properly after 2 weeks. Around week two she started getting an error code on the freezer control panel and the door alarm started ringing even when the fridge and freezer were closed. She contacted LG and they promised to send out a technician. The first technician came out could not fix the issue and said the door had to be replaced. She waited another two weeks for the door to arrive. The tech came back out to replace the door. Within 2 hours of the technician leaving, the error code returned. She contacted LG once again and a tech was sent out. He said another part needed to be ordered, a month went by before the part arrived. After receiving the part she had to call LG once again and was promised the tech would return. That never happened. She has scheduled two appointments since then and the technician has failed to show. This has been dragging on for three months and the issue still is not resolved. The customer service reps in the warranty departments have poor dispositions and the bottom line is she spent over $1500 for a refrigerator that stopped working properly after 2 weeks. I dont understand why LG has not fixed or replaced the refrigerator. Why is it so hard to get something to simply do what you paid for it to do? LG why have you not resolved the issue? Buyers beware, because this surely could be you.
We have had our LG 2301HR Direct Drive Front Loading washer going on two years. First of all, when the washer starts its water loading process, the valves close so forcefully and quickly that the water pipes throughout the house clang, bang and shake. You can not only hear them but you can feel them. To make matters worse, the closing of the valves are frequent and many throughout a wash cycle. This is a major design flaw.Secondly, I am replacing today the cold water inlet tri-valve system due to a water leak that developed in one of the valves (most likely due to the water loading process). I believe this will fix the water leak but unfortunately it will not affect the rapid shutoff process that created it. Hence, the part is only 35 bucks but that is with me doing the work and finding the problem. Too soon to be having problems with repair or replacement and I feel this solution to be only palliative.Third, yes I, too, have the same problems with all clothing having a moldy, musky odor. This has been since day one. We have tried and are still trying ways mentioned by the other reviewers with little to no resolution. The clothes do not smell clean because of the mold problem and it is obvious some soil is remaining in the clothing. Overall, the initial price tag of the washer made it a big decision for our family. It, too, was a replacement for our older top loader that worked just fine.We were sold on the idea that it was much more energy efficient and would pay for itself in time with the energy and water savings. LG is making inferior washing machines at the cost of our ignorance or belief that we are buying a better product. They are deemed defective presented by the problematic facts as testified by the reviewers/owners. The health issue alone (mold and mildew) should be enough for the Federal Health Dept to intervene. What about the BBB (Better Business Bureau)? Someone getting paid off?! What happened to our rights as consumers? Our forefathers are turning over in their graves. My seasonal allergies have become year-round chronic and come to think of it...it has been for the last two years. Go figure.
Two years ago I purchased all new LG appliances for my kitchen. The microwave and oven work properly. However the dishwasher and refrigerator are pieces of junk. I upgraded my dishwasher to the Inverter Direct Drive. After trying different loading methods and different brands of D/W soap, the only way my dishes get truly cleaned, is if I use the power scrub setting. This setting runs for 2:45!!!My refrigerator LG model LFX31925ST/02 is even worse!! Every so often it makes loud vibrating sounds (which I have recorded), some banging which results in a chunk of ice that falls out of the bottom. The freezer is on the bottom and has 3 drawers. The top drawer does not maintain freezing temperatures, resulting in defrosted food that has to be thrown out. When I contacted LG Repair service (I paid for extra warranty) I was told that I am not covered for a repair visit, unless the refrigerator acts up in their presence. I advised them that I have photos and videos to prove its poor performance, however that is not sufficient! I called the retail store where I purchased it. After several calls, the store manager called me and apologized because LG would not even cooperate with him!
My refrigerator was not giving cooling before 2.5 months (Apr-2019). I registered complaint with **. Since two months below steps has been taken and still not resolved - in process. (I cannot use refrigerator in summer). Engineer came and suggested circuit issue. Again he suggested circuit is ok, but compressor need to change. We replaced compressor and paid nearly 7000 Rs. After checking for 24 hours at LG service station, delivered to me and within THREE days not giving cooling in down part (ice cooling part is ok). Now since 20 days service center (Shahibaug, Ahmedabad) person is telling me the specific part (heater/sensor) need to order. To order that part, I need to register a new complaint. I have registered it and provided **. Still waiting for the solution. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME TO REPAIR MY REFRIGERATOR ASAP. THANK YOU.
I purchased this expensive front loading washer/dryer set from Sears 3 years ago. I bought the extended warranty! And within 6 months, the washer (which smelled terribly moldy inside) would not drain. I read the manual, opened the little door at the bottom left, pulled out the hose and drained the machine. It took a long time! It happened several more times over the years. I would call for service under warranty and the repairman would do the same thing I did, but never really FIXED the problem, which SHOULD NOT HAPPEN over and over. Is there a recall of this machine or permanent fix of this problem? Has anyone else had this happen? I’ve had it with LG products!! What to do?
4 year old LG refrigerator keeps breaking. Already had a service repair but now past warranty & same problem reoccurs. Wastes food & LG giving us run around. DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!
Bought a TV in August 2020. After 3 repair attempts over 6 months, LG finally agreed to refund my money. With much effort, I packed up the TV and sent it back months ago and still havent seen my refund. Had three repair attempts on my refrigerator and its finally fixed (I guess). But were still out $750 for lost food. Now, my 27 month old dishwasher has a control problem and rusted out rack. Both controls and rack have a 5 year warranty but I have to call some appliance-fix-it place to get them to look at it. I bet I get no repair, no parts no-nothing and a lot of wasted time for this. I have $15,000 worth of LG equipment in this house and they arent the least bit interested in helping me. I wont buy another piece of equipment from them again.
I bought a new microwave to last us (pensioners) a couple of years. The bottom where the rollers for the glass plate run, rusted through in two and a half years and just today, it started a pyrotechnic display behind the mica cover inside the oven, actually creating fireworks in there. I am so angry about this poor quality oven. I feel like making a video in which I would demolish it with a heavy hammer or chainsaw and splashing it all over the Internet. My previous Litton lasted 12 years. This is really a hopeless product. I will never ever buy an LG product again.
I chose this fridge because it got good ratings with Consumer Reports. They must not read these reviews! Our experience was similar to others here. The fridge worked great for 18 months and then the freezer quit. First local authorized agent was not up to the task and walked away after wasting three weeks of our time. Second agent, an hour distant, did get the compressor replaced (bravo!), but by then we had been down for 38 days. It took many phone calls. Although the young people who answer at LG were friendly and tried to help, it was frustrating to hear the life is good recording with each call as the days kept passing. LG did cover the repair cost.It has now been five months and so far everything is fine. But I wonder if this compressor, which Im told is the same model as the defective one, is likely to fail in another year or so. And will they cover the cost again? And will it take a month again? Another concern is the cost to the environment of these new high efficiency appliances which apparently have a much shorter service life than the old models.
I purchased a new LG four door refrigerator in August 2013 and purchased the extended warranty. In July 2015 it was not cooling and I lost all the food inside. The LG repair person came in a couple of days and determined it could not be fixed and recommended a replacement. It however took a month to resolve this because of LGs delays and I was a month without a fridge. In the summer very frustrating. It is now resolved and I have a new fridge (not an LG). I would not recommend LG for anyone.
We bought the LG Steam Washer and the Steam Dryer, with pedestals in December of 2008 from Best Buy for more than $2,600. Were a retired couple, doing a maximum of 3 loads (not large) a week. 5 years later, the washer makes a horrendous noise on the spin cycle @ medium speed or higher. Some of the dryer cycles dont run as long as theyre supposed to (and the clothes are still damp). I called LG and they gave me the name of a certified LG repairman in our area, who told us that we needed a new rod and bearings for a total of more than $600. He said we were lucky it lasted this long!!! I called LG back to seek some other recourse, and a customer service person who could barely speak English said there was nothing they could do for me. I sure wish Id read the comments on this website BEFORE purchasing an LG. I will never buy another LG product.
Everything about this stove is fine except for the front burner grids. Some fancy designer who has never cooked on a stove in his life decided that it would LOOK GOOD if the front burner grates curved in to match the shape of the griddle. It leaves a big gap on the outer corner of the stove and I ran into the frying pan handle and the pan and all of its hot bacon grease contents went flying across my kitchen. I thought I was being more careful when I hit the handle of a pot of hot stew and it went flying across the kitchen. You must keep your children out of the kitchen when using these front burners. THIS IS A HUGE HAZARD! DO NOT BUY AN LG STOVE WITH GRIDDLE IN THE MIDDLE.
We purchased a LG front load washer about ten years ago and it has performed flawlessly. I did a good bit of research before buying this washing machine. I wanted a direct drive and not a belt driven machine so as to not have to worry about a belt wearing out. As far as the musky smell a lot of people complain about with front load machines, all you need to do is leave the door open a few inches so the moisture can evaporate and we have never had a problem. Our LG machine cleans our clothes very nicely and with the high speed spin our clothes come out with very little moisture in them.
I love the ice dispenser of the LG refrigerator. Very easy and use frequently. Freezer has lots of space and lots of refrigerator space and you can push back a shelf halfway inside to fit tall items.
Choked by LG Side-By-Side (Model # LSXS26326S). I could have died. This product was defective and plastic from the ice maker got in my water. I was choked and my throat scratched by a piece of plastic that broke loose from the ice maker top cover. I do not recommend this product. There was a design change (i.e. material change) that was done in 2018 to the top cover. LG offered me $500 for my pain, suffering, and inconvenience, which was a slap in my face. I was finally provided a refund for the defective unit, but they did not provide any interest for the 2 months that it took them to give me a check. When they sent a company to pick up the defective unit almost $5,000 worth of damage was done to my home (i.e. new refrigerator was scratched, molding/trim damage, custom pre-hung door damaged and threshold broken), which has not been paid. LG said it is not their responsibility, but yet they sent the company to my home. I really appreciate Amazons customer service, because they treat their customers like they would treat themselves.
I purchased an LG top loader model WT5070CW on August 31st, 2012. From day one, it did not work correctly. Water would not fill properly and kept getting an IE code. I spoke with LG customer service, and they gave me a local repair center. They came out and said it was either the control board or a bad valve. He said he would order both parts and just replace both parts. I was notified today that the valve is on back order until Nov 29th! Unacceptable! This washer is only 2 months old, and now they are telling me I cannot get my part for another month? I told them I want a replacement or the part in the next day. They said sorry. I will never ever, ever buy an LG product again! My clothes do not get clean and the washer was defective since day one! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and want to get the word out to people to never buy an LG product. They do not stand behind their product!
LDS4821ST Dishwasher - I was shocked to learn the time it takes to run this dishwasher: power scrub: 108-176 minutes; normal: 90-139 minutes; quick: 78 minutes; rinse only: 15 minutes. This is definitely not an energy saver.
The good part about LG is that they do try to present a customer service initiative to folks who post on social media. Sadly, it is a hollow effort. As anyone can read on this site, the response is either a really poor AI or worse, a person who types the same thing. Buying a $2,000+ refrigerator that makes excessive noise is unarguably a significant issue. LG claims this noise is normal, and I dispute that. Compressor noise that can be heard in other rooms is not normal. While LG did send a technician out to assess this issue, that was inconclusive, and the best LG can offer is to send another one out. But if the noise - the worst Ive experienced with any refrigerator for decades - is considered normal, why bother. When buying an LG refrigerator, be sure to buy the retailers extended warranty that allows a return after 3 (or whatever) attempts to repair.
Ive done everything that I could think of to get this dishwasher to clean my dishes. Ive tried every type of soap, vinegar, rinse aid, pretty much washing the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher and they come out dirtier than I put them in. This dishwasher hasnt worked correctly since I purchased it. I never had a lick of trouble with my Kenmore. Im so disgusted and wont purchase another LG.
I liked the design most of all appearance-wise, but also that there was an option for the ice to be dispensed on it. It was also pretty decent size. Overall I was very satisfied with all of this for the most part and since our old fridge was very small it made life a bit easier. I would improve a tad more space though, and more shelving available for use or drawers. I feel I would have liked it even more if there had been more space or Storage available for the items needing to be in the fridge since we do buy large amounts of groceries at a time. We have a bigger family so we have to get large amounts when we go grocery shopping and our old fridge would just never cut it per se.
Purchased LG fridge couple years ago from Home Depot on clearance. Nice, big, spacious. The ice maker has a silly ice plus button to make more ice. First, the ice compartment is small so the ice plus button is really needed to be on all the time. Second, ice plus button turns off automatically. So if you use a lot ice dont buy one that has an ice plus button. LG should have an ice maker that does not need an ice plus button. Thirdly, the so called water filters you have to purchase from home depot are not oem filters. The OEM filters are high priced and need to be changed every three months to get the water to dispense like it did when it was new. I will not purchase another LG ice & water dispenser on a fridge. For future reference buy simple less headaches.
I read the consumer reviews for LG Refrigerators and based on the feedback I read, I went with them. I have the refrigerator for a year now and Im satisfied with it.
Purchased an LG side-by-side refrigerator with door-in-door option (M/N LSXS26366D, S/N 709MRFP09283). The first problem is that the software function occasionally (about every nine months or so) turns off the compressor with no alarming what-so-ever. You have to watch for water on the floor and freezer items starting to thaw. You have to remove power for 15 seconds and then turn it back on to get the system operating again. Nothing in the manual about it. I had to find that out looking at on-line complaints. The final problem is the compressor died 2 years and 10 months into operation (purchased Oct 2017, now Aug 2020). No alarm for that either. Looked the same as the controller failure, but this time resetting several times didnt work. Tragically, you cannot get the door-in-door option anywhere else. Maybe with some luck I can find a repair person that can remove the LG installed Linear Compressor with something more reliable. If the controller is what died (rest of the unit works, just no cold air), then I purchased a very expensive dump decoration.
Purchased a new LG French Door Refrigerator, over $3,500.00 with water and ice dispenser on the door. Refrigerator is only a few years old and I am working on my second service call. Cooling stopped working, freezer stopping working, ice cubes stored in the door melted and ran through the door and all over my floor. My freezer drawer was completely full and all frozen food unthawed, what a mess! All contents of the main refrigerator had to be thrown out. Services calls, replacing parts and replacing the lost food turns into an expensive venture. Extremely disappointed that manufacturers are unable to produce quality appliances in todays world. I am certain Quality Control does not exist at LG. They know how to assess a price tag and take the consumers money!
Women want a dependable, easy to use, easy to clean stove. My LG stove is the absolute best! I drink a lot of tea and my tea kettle heats up nicely and the HS light is very convenient so you know not where to touch. And the oven is a dream! Cooks nicely and absolutely love the timer to let you know when your food is done. This is a hands down number one in my book!
Should have researched better. This dishwasher sucks! Very low dish capacity. Thought we were getting a deal on it. Only thing we got a deal on was price. It was cheap, but not worth the money. Its loud and frankly, does not do a very good joy drying the dishes either.
Not worth a damn on the inside! Three failures after warranty. Ice Maker which I replaced. Board failure which a small appliance company replaced. Now the compressor is no longer pumping. And guess what, its only a year and a half old. Last failure date - 6/29/17 just before the fourth of July weekend. So now we have to scramble to get some refrigeration. We spend $500.00 on a basic GE to get us buy until I decide what to do with the piece of crap LG that looms in our computer room like some piece of artwork! What I feel like doing is putting a rope around it dragging it down to Lowes to leave it at their front door. NEVER AGAIN!
The shelves fall off. I replaced it with new but it still has a problem. The water leaks onto floor from bottom freezer (has ruined my floor and cupboards). The water spout doesnt work. I shut off water to the fridge but it still leaks.
About five years ago, I purchased a new LG with a freezer on the bottom and two refrigerator doors on top of the freezer. The ice maker is located in the upper left door (as you face the unit) in the refrigerator. So far, the ice maker has been replaced 5 times, and has never worked correctly. It will not provide sufficient ice output for a family of four. If guests are expected, I must buy ice at the store to supplement the output of the ice maker. The ice maker contained in this refrigerator is a poorly designed and constructed worthless piece of junk.
Model Number LDCS24223 stopped working after 4 months! This refrigerator worked well for 4 months. Then the top refrigerator portion stopped cooling. It took over 2 weeks for LG warranty repair service to determine we needed a new fan motor and a new compressor, then another 2 weeks for these parts to be installed. A month without a refrigerator was difficult. The repair person who came was courteous. He said this model is known to have this problem. If you buy this model, I recommend you buy the extended warranty.
Bought LG fridge December 20, 2013... ice maker broke 2015. Now the fridge went Friday, December 13, 2019. Was told by lg customer service to take everything out fridge, defrost for 8 hours, wait 24 to 48 hours so fridge can get cold. Never happened. Did it again second day. Same thing. Not working, error code keeps coming on. They send tech. Charge us $125. Have to get fridge serviced. Another $324... Asked if they can expedite the shipping of motor fan whatever it’s called. Tech Ariel looked at my husband and I like we had two heads. He never tried to contact LG about expediting the part. We told tech we have to think about it. Maybe we should just buy another fridge. Tech was ok and left... like he didn’t care that we living out of two coolers. He Just said ok and left.We called LG about expediting the part again. They were like, We will see. We’ve been out of a fridge since Friday December 13, 2019, it’s Thursday December 19, 2019, LG calls us to tell us we might not get our shipment in till Saturday and maybe get our fridge fix Saturday. All our food has spoiled. No milk. The Christmas ham we bought spoiled as well as all the other good we had in fridge. About $300 in food we bought for Christmas Eve dinner. Let’s put it this way. LG doesn’t give a ** About their customers.
LG came through by covering the repair of the faulty linear compressor and PC board. Although its only been 1 day since the repair, the fridge is cooling again. Were still out the lost food and in the interim had to buy a small fridge to salvage some items and for our basics while we waited.
LG model LFX31925ST - Came home to a loud noise coming from my 5-month old LG refrigerator, all the freezer food is thawed and the ice was melting in the door. I used the live online chat. I asked “Is there a fire danger, what should I do?” The response is, “Call the smart diagnosis department.” She gives me the number to call. The smart diagnosis department could not help. A day later LG called and gave us a phone number to set up in home repair. That company said it is difficult to communicate with LG and get parts or payment from LG. That person declined to take our repair request. We waited to hear from LG. Nothing. I submitted a second request by filling out an online repair request. Nothing. I sent an email request and got a quick email reply, “Sorry for your difficulty,” then something that made no sense and finally You be contacted.” Hmm, shouldnt that be “You WILL be contacted”? I now understand LG is aware of a common control panel problem. I think that this is my problem. I also believe I am going to get stuck with a lemon. Do not buy this product.
LG dishwasher is pretty easy to understand the settings. I have had it for over two years. Its stainless steel inside and outside. I feel the stainless steel interior is easy to clean and maintain. It has an energy saving feature which I often use. It also gives you a signal when the rinse aid is low.
I bought an electric double oven, convection on bottom, glass top. Model is LDE 4415,4413 or 4411. Anyway, I like to cook. This oven is horrible. It takes 30 minutes to boil water!! I have never had such a horrible oven to cook on. Burners are impossible to heat up, when they eventually heat up its impossible to turn them down. You cant control the temperature. Another thing I think is really odd is the oven light. My model has an 2 ovens with the convection oven on the bottom. It seems odd to me that when the oven light is on it is on in both ovens, not a big deal, just seems light a cheap design. Do not buy this product, unless you dont like to cook.
Another 3 years to the day just shut down, stopped cooling!! We had the extended warranty. 5 days to get a repairman...was told it was compressor. They would submit for a claim. Work was denied by warranty, too expensive. So they tried to get a local repairman and he said he does not work on LG refrigerators. They are not fixable, SOOO we are out 3,600 for a 3-year-old fridge. Oh warranty wanted money upfront to order part from Korea that would take weeks!!! No LG, never again!!!
Our LG refrigerator is only 18 months old and has broken down three times. The first time, LG repaired within the first year. Second time occurred three weeks ago. The warranty company contracted a local appliance repair company to come out. They came out and diagnosed the issue, then said they needed to order a new compressor and should take three to five days. On day three, I call the company to find out status of compressor. They indicate it had not yet arrived. I call every day after that for another week and could not get anyone to answer the phone. My wife and I are both professionals and do not have time to deal with a fridge company. On day eleven or so, I file a complaint on Better Business Bureau website. Less than twenty minutes later, I get a call. Company comes out to install the new compressor a day later. Repair guy says it is fixed and leaves. Later that day, I again noticed the fridge was not working. Fridge is still broken!!! Now another lost work day and more time on the phone and internet wasting my time dealing with a terrible LG Product! There has to be legal recourse with so many complaints. I bet the majority of us have the same model. LG needs to be held accountable for selling a $2500 piece of junk!
I bought an LG French door refrigerator November of 2014. Just before the end of the 1 year warranty the refrigerator started making noises. I didnt get around to calling LG until the beginning of December 2015. LG refused to help me unless I purchased an extended warranty for $250. I later called an appliance repairman and was told the noise was my compressor going out. After a year of service?! Are you kidding me?! I proceeded to call LG back to get the compressor replaced (which has a 10 year warranty), they once again wouldnt help me unless I purchased the extended warranty for $250. Really? You spend $3000 on a refrigerator and call for a repair under the warranty, after a year and half (at this point) and you have to spend more money to repair your piece of $3000 junk?! DO NOT BUY ANY LG PRODUCTS. THEIR WARRANTIES ARE JUNK. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT THERE TO HELP YOU!
I have owned a appliances for 38 years and I wished I had NEVER purchased LG! I had my doubts when I did purchase ALL LG appliances and I should have listen to my instincts! These are not low end LG products. The ice maker on the Refrigerator freezes up and quits making ice and I was only 1 month out of my full year warranty. They did not offer to fix it and I sure didnt allow them to come out to service our refrigerator because I didnt want to give them another dime. Well, now my top end washer is not spinning all the water out of the clothes and guess what... I am 5 months out of my full warranty. I called and they did the smart diagnoses and recommend they send out a repair person because they are not sure why it is happening. Do you think they would consider a service call for free??? Nope... This is the first time in 50+ years I have ever written a review. DONT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!
We purchased an LG refrigerator a little over 3 months ago from Home Depot. We have had so much noise coming from it!! We have leveled it and checked that the floor is level. Called customer service and was told if they found it to be normal noises we would have to pay for the service call! It will run quietly for maybe a day then will start humming loudly, everything in the doors vibrate, and makes really weird noises!! Called customer service and was told I need to manually defrost! I should not need to manually defrost a $1700 refrigerator after only 3 months! Home Depot wont do anything because it is under manufacturers warranty for the first year.
This is the WORST experience I have ever had with a major appliance. I should have known when LG started sending yearly checks to make up for under estimating the electric usage of this model. I have replaced gaskets around the doors twice. However, my MAJOR complaint is the tubing that runs to the ice maker. I have had repairs/tubing replacement no less than 6 times in five years. Almost every six months the tubing (5/16 tubing - which is virtually impossible to find) springs a pinpoint leak and water is all over my kitchen floor. Every time I have a repairman, it costs me at least another $100. My latest was again this morning!! This refrigerator is not worth the dynamite I would use to blow it up!
We bought our French door refrigerator around December of 2018 when we purchased our new house. We have loved our unit until one day both of the coils for the fridge and freezer part went out. I placed a repair order in August of 2020. LG outsourced the repair work to a local repair shop which was fine. Here it is 10/25/2020 and we are still without a refrigerator. I have contacted LG and the repair company numerous times and nothing is being done about it. LG has basically washed their hands of the whole situation and put it on the backs of the repair company. I got tired of waiting for the refrigerator to be repaired because we have a large family (family of 8); I called LG back once more and requested LG to replace or refund the money from the initial purchase. Since then we are going on 2 weeks and I have still yet to hear from LG as to what the decision is on replacing it or refunding the money. We was happy with the unit while it was working but since then it has been a complete nightmare and I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT AGAIN IN MY LIFE because of this incident. I hope my review helps clear the air up for anyone thinking about making a purchase of a LG product.
