LG Dryer Model DLG3501W
Very expensive fridge, 6 months old, not working. Under one-year manufacturers warranty. LG says they are not going to honor the warranty because it was an open box item. Several calls later, they say will fix it once they get the proof of purchase. I email proof via the portal they email me. I get a confirmation. Nothing happens. I call back. Kim says that I have refused to send proof of purchase. We argue at length. Finally, she acknowledges that she has it and says she will have to refer me to the extended warranty person. I explain that it is NOT an extended warranty; it is the original warranty. She next tells me there are no authorized LG repair services near me so she cannot schedule an appointment. But I should call a company over an hour drive- and a toll bridge- away. She finally gives me the number of a closer place. I ask for some sort of authorization for the warranty. She tells me to just call them. The phone number is no good. I find the real number, call them, and they say LG has to authorize the repair. I call LG back and ask to speak to someone in the US. After stalling me for 10 minutes, she gives me a number to call. It is out of service.
I have had the LG Direct Drive smart drum for several months and on almost every wash cycle I have to rebalance the clothes inside. I am just trying to warn other consumers about the frustration I am going through. To be fair I have not contacted the company yet. We did call Sears and they said we would have to pay of a service call. So I am going to contact LG after I can get all my paperwork together - stay tuned.
The refrigerator itself works well. The temperature of the fridge is accurate. The freezer has plenty of room as does the fridge itself. All of the hardware holding the drawers have broken so that is difficult to use the drawers. That is the only disappointing part of owning this.
Purchased on July 2016. Stopped cooling on June 15th. Seems like after reading other reviews, mine is not so different. Compressor goes out and service call takes 2 1/2 weeks to fix. So LG built a bunch of refrigerators that last only three years. Wow, I have a Kitchen Aid that is still going after 19 years. Let’s see Canada or Korea. Would not buy ever again. Customer service horrible. Said they wanted feedback and haven’t heard a peep from them since.
After 4 1/2 years, after buying 4 matching stainless steel appliances for the new home, my refrigerator started making loud noises, like an airplane landing. We knew it was a problem, but didnt have a real sense of urgency because the fridge was still cooling; figured wed attend to it when we had time. Then it began cooling inconsistently. Then it finally crapped out. We called customer service and they had us contact the approved list of repair companies. I took the day off, had the repairman look at the fridge (and I do mean LOOK AT it, as he didnt have the parts on hand), and was told it was the compressor that failed and the work would cost over $1000! The part was covered under our 5 yr warranty, but the work was about the cost of a new fridge and wasnt covered. So, the $200-300 part is covered but the $1000 work to install isnt? Gee, thanks, LG!After looking at what a new comparable one would cost, we couldnt find one and came to the disappointing decision to just go with the repair. The repairman was very nice and said this isnt the first hes seen and doubts itll be the last. So VERY disappointed in LG for making such a flimsy, unreliable product! I was a big fan of LG previously - having had a TV, Blu-ray disc player, etc. - and had NO problems, so I thought that competency would apply to all their products. Very wrong and very disappointed.
I purchased both LG washer and dryer in February 2009. I have been having problems with stinky clothes and mildewed foul smelling towels. I have tried all of the recommendations provided by this so-called company (LG), however, nothing works. I cant leave the door open on the washer. I have small children. Running the washer on the sanitary cycle with only bleach or only vinegar or only ammonia doesnt solve the smelly problem. My 11-year old has asthma and everybody knows asthma and mold dont mix. I am very disappointed with you, LG. Shame on you!
I love my LG refrigerator. IT IS STAINLESS & a bit hard to keep shiny & clean. I love the performance & it is easy to clean. I would purchase another LG appliance.
I purchased my LG side-by-side refrigerator from Best Buy in October 2016. Initially I was very pleased with the unit, no problems until late June 2018. The temperature dropped significantly and the freezer no longer kept food frozen. I was informed after placing a service call that the compressor ceased to work and other updates were needed to the refrigerator. One year later in July 2019 the freezer and refrigerator are again working insufficiently. I have lost a ridiculous amount of food in both the freezer and refrigerator. I am again using a cooler, buying ice frequently. I contacted the LG customer service department this past Sunday July 21, 2019 to inform staff of a malfunctioning refrigerator and to complain that this was the second incident in three years. I was given an appointment for July 25, 2019. My husband took the day off of work in order to receive the repairman. After no one showed, my husband contacted LG customer service department and was informed that the appointment had been canceled. We did not cancel the appointment. LG customer service informed us after some time that A& E Factory Service, their contractor, canceled the appointment and did not inform LG nor did they inform us of the cancellation. Eventually my husband was given an appointment for August 5th 2019, two-weeks from the originally scheduled appointment. He explained the challenges in retaining food, money lost, and that we have a five year old daughter who had clumpy milk that had to be discarded... the next available appointment was moved to August 1, 2019. I phoned yesterday, July 25, 2019 explained the above and inquired about the earliest available appointment. After being on the phone for twenty minutes I was informed that the earliest possible appointment is still August 1, 2019 however it is not confirmed, therefore I do not have a concrete appointment as of yet. I was told that someone will call us to confirm the actual August 1, 2019 appointment next week. I am very disappointed. I am very dissatisfied. I will not purchase another LG refrigerator again.Jacqueline **
Where do I start. I have the top loading, no agitator, wave force. It uses too much electricity figuring out load weight. It doesnt clean the clothes well. The bleach dispenser has ruined many towels. If I interrupt a cycle to add an item (during that time the machine allows you), it screws up the machine on how much water to add so it fills the tank completely full. Contacting the company is a joke. The repairman tells me everythings normal (hes probably in a hurry to go to the next complaint of LG washers. The feature I have allows me to put my phone up to it so LG can hear the beeps and tones for a diagnose - DOESNT WORK (hence the repairman). I extended my warranty to three years. Problem with that is when they tell you nothing is wrong, your warranty is useless. Im sorry for anyone who buys LG! I hope you see the negative reviews and run the other way.
Beware! I thought my new LG oven was self-cleaning. After all it says Easy Clean on the selection on the top of the range. Easy Clean is NOT easy. It involves: pre-scraping; using water with very low temperatures; and a LOT of elbow grease with non-stick scrubbers after the 20 minute process. I am SO disappointed in this aspect of what is otherwise a great oven and range. LG -- you need to fix this issue going forward!!! I am way too old to be down on my hands and knees scrubbing my oven. This is pathetic...and an all day process.
Like many of the other reviews I have issues with constant unbalanced load errors even when the washer is a 1/3 full. Have never successfully completed a bedding wash cycle. Takes 3.5 hours per load. Bought a LG glass top range previously and also had a bad experience. Should have known better than to buy an LG product again. My bad.
I love my new washing machine. I havent had it long. It is a super large capacity. Only problem I have, I am on the shorter side, so I have to stand on tip toe to get everything out of the bottom of the machine. It will hold 2 loads of clothes, easily. And, a large comforter.
My new large capacity LG washer model WM8000HVA does not spin out water ninety percent or more of the time regardless of the size or type of load. The machine was purchased on 07-08-14 and delivered at the end of August 2014. I started having problems with the machine not spinning out from the first use. I had three service visits and at the 3rd visit LG technicians suggested that the service tech replace the hall sensor and main computer. They subsequently decided to replace the machine with a new one and the same problem continued. I have had two service appointments on the replacement machine and on the second visit the LG technician replaced the main computer and the hall sensor on 06-10-15 but this did not resolve the problem. I had a medium load in the washer when the tech showed up and the machine would not spin out displaying a UE error code. After replacing the computer and sensor it still did not spin out displaying the same error code so the technician suggested that I take out more than half the clothes and then the machine spin out in three separate loads from what was originally a medium load. I inquired why this is and he informed that the machine was not really designed to wash loads above a certain size or weight. I then inquired why would one buy a large capacity washer that could not wash large loads including comforters and he said he understood. I later called LG Executive office and spoke to ** and informed her that this machine was defective and unsuitable for my needs. She initially said they would not allow a return but then later informed that she would research further and contact me by Friday 06-05. I have not heard back from her or anyone in her office to date.I would like to add that this machine was purchased to replace LG model WM2277H which is a 4.0 CU. FT. Washer which I had for over ten years and was able to wash larger loads in than the new machine with no problems and it still works. The new WM8000HVA is advertised as a 5.2 cu. ft. mega capacity washer. I would like to have LG reclaim this washer and issue a full refund because the service/repair options have been exhausted and the machine is not working as it should which indicate there is an un-repairable defect.
In October 2014 we purchased a very nice Stainless LG Dishwasher - Model: LDF7774ST. The first week we had it the motor went out. LG replaced the dishwasher. Back in January of 2015, the so called quiet Dishwasher started making a lot of noises and had to have the dishwasher serviced. Now, the LG dishwasher will not drain. We have cleaned out the filter and the drain and nothing works and now have to have it serviced yet again. Three times in six months on an $800 dishwasher? Will never purchase an LG dishwasher again.
We got French Door refrigerator in 2010. Thanks got, we got extension warranty. Our ice maker was broken in a 1 year. They fix it after 8 weeks. Then this plastic ice maker start to smell terrible. Called LG customer service to ask what to do, how to get out of this sweat smell. They told that they do NOT care about smells. BTW, manager talk to me very bad. Now I do not use ice from LG. I buy ice from a store.
Even though it says dont rinse the dishes, just scrape them, this DW doesnt get the job done. Ive tried all kinds of soaps and rinses and I often have to hand scrape food off the plates and from inside glasses. I had a Sears Kenmore for its lifespan and they dont make anything like it. Disappointed, wont buy LG again.
If I could’ve given this zero stars I would’ve. I bought this LG (Life is Good) top loader washing machine and LG Dryer because my old dryer finally broke after 10 years of usage. My previous washing Machine worked fine but the wife wanted the new LG dryer to match a new LG washing machine. So we bought the set. After maybe 4-5 years I noticed some rust on the inside of the body of the washer. Well that rust spot got bigger and more rust spots began to pop up. After many failed attempts with LG customer service and their service technician in my area the end results were that they would not repair or replace the washer. It is considered a cosmetic issue. The rust has dropped into the washer with the clean clothes defeating the purpose of cleaning the clothes. It now has become a hassle pulling the so called clean clothes out of the washer without touching the sides or the top because it’s all rusty. I’ve sent LG pictures of the rust at their request with no response. During the time of purchase we also bought other LG appliances. I’ve had problems with their microwave, stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. My older appliances I had that were much less expensive outlasted the very expensive LG CRAP I bought. Don’t buy LG!!
I bought an LG Refrig/Freezer side by side unit in 2013. Within four months, the doors stopped sealing causing all food inside to spoil while I was out of town. Not covered by warranty, spent over $200 to have it repaired. Repair seal was no better which resulted in a second spoilage and waste of hundreds of dollars of food. Spent another $200 - all this within a year. I bought LG because they were supposedly good. I have learned the hard way. This is far from the truth. This morning my refrigerator was dead at the age of 31 months. After calling support number I was told to hire a technician. Instead I have emptied it out and am pushing it out to the curb where it belongs - in a trash dump. Bottom line is LG refrigerators are LEMONS. Do yourself a favor and NEVER EVER BUY ONE.
My wife and I ordered a french door fridge for our first home two months before we moved in. It arrived a week after moving in and on arrival nothing worked. We have contacted LG over 10 hours over the phone and still do not have a path forward. When we have the fridge plugged in, no lights come on, no compressor or evaporator run, complete silence. We told LG it was not cooling and they told us to wait 24-48 hours even after I explained no equipment was operating. We finally got a technician out and they said the communication board needs repair. LG is telling me they were told there was an ice block. The fridge has not worked since day one so not sure how an ice blockage was reported. Its been 2 weeks and we still do not have any solution. We bought an LG washer and dryer and LG does not care at all about its customers. I will not be buying an LG ever again due to their lack of customer care. Life is not good, LG.
Used broiler one time. Noticed the knobs looked as if they were melting. Called customer service. I asked if there was a recall. They know, they said they were sending a set of new knobs at no charge. Called over a week later. They said it was denied. I did not receive a reject letter or call from LG. Filed a complaint with them on the phone. Receive a complaint number. Filed another complaint on line today and on this web site I agree there should be a recall for the stove knobs or a way of fixing the problem.
Updated on 07/02/2021: This is review number 3. LG replaced parts twice then went off. Warranty says not their problem. Even told tech to glue part onto inside of washer. Extended warranty through Lowes. Says not their problem with either. Despite their warranty saying it will be restored to or a operating condition if it has failed due to defects in material. Gee thought I got paid $900 for a washing machine not a towel shredder. Could have done that on my own. Tech told me LG knows there is a problem but doesnt know how to fix it. My take is lg doesnt want to spend any money to redesign the piece so clothes are not getting caught in between the little plastic knob at the bottom of the tub. No need for LG to respond since they are not going to do anything about it anyways. Updated on 06/30/2021: Which consumer affairs would fix it so I can write a second note. So here goes. Its going to be a toss up somebody going to pay. Might I contemplate about taking all my towels that this washing machine tore up. And send part to or all to LG and drop part or all at Lowes. LG spent hours on phone with them after making an appointment and no ones showing up or calling. Called again more hours. Called Lowes. They scheduled an appointment. (With the same company that LG sent out the tech that I have been texting me tells me they are closed on that day the appointment.)Original Review: Complained to LG about washer tearing up to towels. Sent tech out who called company and explained problem. He was told put glue on the center piece. Two weeks later tech came out replaced center piece. Scared of covid I didnt call back for a while. The other piece messed up and continued to mess up and the tech put water proof tape inside. The piece continues to mess my towels up. No towels left. So upset about $1000 washer took for granted that the other problems have to wash some clothes twice. Only cycle to work is bedding cycle that will not tear towels up. It appears the turbo cycle throws the clothes against the middle. The plastic piece in the middle grabs a hold to towels and shreds them so the middle has had shredded threads wrapped around it. LG needs to stick to making phones. Was excited to hear about all the new fangle things the washer could do. Now just wish it would quit pretending to be a washer. Wish I had kept my old washer that was on its last legs. Now my worst fear is coming true. My dry is having to pick up all the hair and dirt the washer is getting.
I am disappointed that the fridge stopped cooling in about 3 years. Repair process/experience is even worse. Took LG and contractor three times to come and fix and fix again and again. Food reimbursement never showed up over a month since request sent in as early as 4/1/19. Had to call on 5/20/19 and got another case number and told me I should have received an email in 48 hours. Now it is over 72 hours. Horrible experience! No more LG products for my family.
I bought an LG Fridge Model LSC 24971ST in October 2012. It stopped working June 2017. I made many phone calls to Customer Care (or No Care) Centre on Telephone 1-888-542-2623 continuously for five weeks but nothing was done. Finally LG got back to me and told me whatever the problem is, they will have it fixed for a flat rate of $229. I paid them $229, hoping that the problem will be solved now. Few days later an LG worker came to check the fridge, only to tell me that the fridge cannot be fixed. I would have to buy another $4000 fridge from LG. It was hard for me to believe this fridge cannot be fixed, so I called somebody else to have the fridge checked, which is when I found out that the compressor has stopped working and just needs to be replaced.LG was trying to CHEAT me and make me buy another fridge from them. They wouldnt even return the $229 flat rate that I paid them to have the fridge fixed. After arguing with them for weeks, they finally agreed that they will have the compressor replaced at the FLAT RATE of $229 but the part is NOT available for the time being. If such a BIG company like LG fails to find its own part, why I must suffer...? Weeks passed and they could not even find their own part. Bottom line is, LG COMPANY TRIES TO CHEAT YOU. The fridge could easily be fixed by replacing the compressor (which was still under warranty), but LG wanted to CHEAT me into just buying another $4000 fridge from them. They gave me a very hard to time; for months I kept arguing with them. Never buying an LG product ever again!
Many service calls since August, you have to wait all day onset time. No one shows up, several repairs, several visits and calls because service said not under warranty and LG said was reschedule and last 3 visits same thing, won’t order parts, said have to pay for it. Now had second fire with stovetop coming on with no one home and house full of smoke because something was on stove. Now want replaced and something done about smoke damage.
I believed that LG is one of the best company in the Indian market so I bought LG Washing Machine but before complete 3 years, I got a serious problem with my LG Washing Machine and LG technical engineer said to replace PCB of the machine. He also said that I have to pay for this PCB and I have to pay approx amount is Rs. 4500/-. This is totally not acceptable by me. After all these I have a doubt that my LG Washing Machine is original or duplicate. Is your dealer sold duplicate or not? As per my knowledge washing machine does not have any major problem till 7 to 8 years. It is very serious matter for LG also that LG demands such amount. Can LG give revert for my below queries: -Is my decision to buy LG product is right? -Are you thinking that within such a short time PCB problem is acceptable? -Are you thinking that LG is still a good brand for Washing Machine ?I request you to repair my LG Washing Machine without any charges and prove that LG is best in after sale services. Hope your best support and quick action.
LG rocks! My first front loader - it took me awhile to manage the wet clothes at the end of the cycle! Otherwise, front loaders are the WAY to go!!! I replaced my Maytag Neptune with an LG and am looking forward to replacing the Maytag dryer as well. I am happy to pay more for a problem-free product. The LG washer has been a dream! I bought it after my Neptune ran amok and held my wet clothes hostage for hours, even after unplugging it! Quality construction is worth every penny! I love my LG! It has Direct Drive Inverter (10 year warranty!!!) and the steam option. It has an optional platform for both the washer and dryer, which I highly recommend (if you value your buck). The washer is extremely user friendly, even for those of us who are technologically challenged. But, if you ever do need to troubleshoot a problem, the washer can talk directly to LG via your smartphone. :)
Bought an LG top load washing machine. True Balance is a joke. This has been the worst washer I have ever purchased. I made the mistake of not returning it immediately. Because it was very different than your typical agitator machine I didnt realize how bad it was until I began getting the constant UE code. My water and electricity bills have increased because of the constant filling and running in an attempt to balance the load. Bought it from Home Depot. LG has no service people in my area. Can you believe it - they sell the darn machines in my area but no service. I cannot believe this machine hasnt been recalled. My next step is to march down to Home Depot and see if they will make it right because LG and their foreign customer service people dont care. I will never purchase anything made by them again.
Open till recently I was very happy with my LG refrigerator. Unit has always been great. Do you want to half years after me owning your own at the compressor went bad. I was very happy to hear that LG would replace it free of charge however I was not thrilled that it took so long to get a service appointment. I was almost a week without a refrigerator. Repair technicians came in. That’s where the real trouble started. The first time they said they didn’t have the right parts and it didn’t work so they left the refrigerator off for a number of days again while they were could get the right stuff to Complete the job. About a day after my refrigerator which finally running I called the repair company directly and told them that the unit was making load noise and vibrating. All my drinks were moving around on shelf but nonetheless I was happy to have a refrigerator again. Now it’s been 4 weeks with multiple phone calls to the repair company with no response to come out and rectify the issue. So now I turn back to LG to complain and to finally try to get someone out to fix this thing. An exceedingly long and painful process.
LG Refrigerator Model#LFX31925ST - Purchased July 2012. First year, this refrigerator was nothing but a joy, no problems. Second year expected to have to change filters, but not the hell I have gone through. A week before my 60th Birthday, heard noise but couldnt locate where it was coming from, moved refrigerator found nothing going on. Day of Birthday Dinner panel goes in rf and ff mode, so Knowing I purchased the extra Service agreement, I called to see if someone could come repair this problem. 24 hrs later part shows up and 7 days later repairman shows up.
LG Tromm WM0642HW - I purchased my washing machine and dryer in June 2007. Today I was told the washing machine was not repairable. This washing machine has been a total disappointment. My clothes never smelled clean. The machine stunk always. There were times I had to wash the clothes twice to get them clean. The wash cycle was at least an hour long. I am really not sure how that conserves energy. I expected the quality of this machine to be top notch. For me it was not. If I knew I was going to have to buy a new machine in a little over 7 years, I certainly would not have paid for the top of the line machine like I thought I was getting.
Our Model LFD25860TT has a manufacturing flaw where original foil bonded to insulating foam, between coil and freezer-area, flakes off and clogs evaporator drain. It then builds-up overflow water/ice in base and leaking onto floor. (Check online issues.) Had repairman out once, but finally mitigated myself by cleaning-out the flakes and substituting heavy Reynolds foil facing.
I bought my LG refrigerator in July 2016 and the compressor went out in September 2017. It took LG over a month to send out a repair person because nobody will work on LG refrigerators in my area due to LG not paying repair people for service calls. Now it is May 2020 and my compressor has gone out again. I contacted LG and have not received a call back. I contacted a repair person and they will not replace this again because they said LG has not fixed the problem with compressors and it will just go out again.
Worst and Cheating Service from LG. Issue Started from Deepavali. I had complained regarding TV service before 40 to 50 days but still, the status is the same.My TV Model No. LG-LED/42LA6620 got a problem as the TV was not turning ON, regarding this I had complained and an executive told that they will come and diagnose the issue. After couple of days, he came and saw that there is a problem in it and told he will return in a couple of days and went. But later he did not return at all. He did not even receive our calls and we were in search of help, but nothing happened. Later I called to customer care and you people told that it will be done on chargeable basis. Even visiting charges should be beared by the customer. I agreed for that and requested for the executive at my place. And you people struggled a lot to arrange a person to my place but you people failed to do that. But we are the person who is suffering and ultimately our situation is like Wait or Go and as we got an expensive TV from you and fortunately or unfortunately I have got all LG brands in my house (TV, FRIDGE, WASHING MACHINE etc.,) and I am a promoter for LG product. But now am just afraid that how about future of the products I got. How the support and services for these products, am panicked. And after struggling a lot we didnt get any help from LG but we at the receiver end have to get our TV repaired and took that TV personally and went to the other city that is Hospet from Gangavathi for getting it serviced. After submitting that TV they told that it has to be diagnose and it will take a couple of days and we left our TV there and returned. After couple of days, they told that there is a motherboard issue and it will charge you around 7k to 9k.I told them to go ahead and service it. I want the TV to be Fixed. But trust me I have doubt on those technicians over there, I am having an impression that I am in safe hands or someone trying to loot us. But still, I told them to go ahead and service it. Later after a couple of days, I get a call saying that it will take a month to replace it. I told, Okay. Fix it as soon as possible. And later I get one more story that, We need bill sir as this motherboard is not available as of now, if you provide bill then we will look for depreciation and you can go for another model. Now am really frustrated and just cant control myself for simple issue, I am okay with taking TV personally to the service center, I am okay with replacing a motherboard, I am okay with money, I am okay with time. Now its a new phase. They are asking me to go for depreciation. But I managed my self to get the bill and submitted to them but until today am in the same situation and TV is in the same condition. Today 23/12/2017 morning when I called to the customer care, I get these type of responses ie., Sir you need to visit the dealer where you have submitted your TV, and, We cant help you in this, what the hell is this response from LG customer care, I made him realise that he is working for LG then he told that he will arrange call back. Later I called once again and narrated all the story to that lady, she told she will arrange a call back. Thank God that I got a call from LG but now they started with new story which clearly shows that they are cheating openly to the people. When I called in the morning and asked regarding the status of my TV, LG customer care people they told part is not available so it will take some more time. But after an hour I get a call saying that sir your LCD has problem as we are testing on your TV but there is problem in display. Now here we can see clearly, that from main office they are saying part is pending, and from Hospet dealer they are telling that, Sir motherboard we received and testing on it but there is a problem in LCD and it will be fixed with a charge of Rs: 24,000/- extra. If they tell us that its going to cost you more in which we can go for other options by dropping the idea of getting this tv repaired. This is so cheap activity done by you people to grab money or to drop the issue. If you people really need money/dont want to support then try to get it by earning with trust but not by cheating the innocent people, its our hard-earned money we spend on buy expensive gadgets by trusting giant companies. Now I am requesting you again to the experienced/some qualified engineer to look into the issue and solve it. Really LG is stepping back from giving services. Its really gonna affect the brand. I was promoter for the company but you people are making me to go for worst condition... If this is condition for few more customers then soon it is gonna be in helpless situation. I dont know what kind of engineers LG is hiring not capable to repair a simple issue then what for they hire a so-called qualified developers.
Thank God we got extended warranty. Freezer not defrosting, so much frost it stops ice maker, and completely stopped cooling. Repairman blamed us for not shutting it tight and opening too often. I dont believe he is right. This is our first LG. But Not our first freezer on bottom. Would not buy LG ever again.
Our LG refrigerator (LFW31925SW) has stopped cooling/freezing. After reading the MANY reviews, I am very concerned. I do not want to put $500 - $1000 in repairs (even though it is still under warranty) just for it to happen again. It appears that there is a Class Action Lawsuit about this problem but my model is one of the excluded models - Also excluded are consumers who bought LG refrigerator models of which fewer than 1,000 units were sold “or for which the service rate for No-Cooling Events was less than 1% of sales,” the settlement says.. Is there a way to get this repaired without having to do a repair again in the near future?
Cools food well, ice maker made a lot of ice quickly, matches my kitchen, easy open door. Easy temperature settings. Plenty of storage space on the door. Easy to open drawers. Need a big freezer though. I have a large family and was never able to store enough meat. Still, it was a good price and fit in my kitchen well. Love the drawers and the door shelves.
I bought an LG refrigerator and it was a horrible purchase. I had to have it fixed and I had to pay for a repair guy to come out six times. The last man to come out told me that the previous technician that came out didnt know what he was doing, and he was terminated because he was caught lying to customers. I was also promised by LG a voucher for thousands of dollars worth of food I had to throw out because of all the times my refrigerator broke down. I sent in the receipt and I have a copy of the email but I never heard from them again. I never received the voucher for the food. I am a single mom of four kids and for me to lose thousands of dollars worth of food is completely disgusting. I would never buy an LG product ever again. It was a fail on their part to do what they were supposed to do and its taking everything inside of me not to go to the Better Business Bureau or to contact my lawyer regarding this.
I bought a LG refrigerator for $2500 from Best Buy on Route 1 Iselin, New Jersey. Within 5 years the refrigerator stopped working and the customer service provided a local LG Dealership numbers, where I had to call and schedule a service repair at my expense and the technician came in checked and advised that the compressor was broken, and I had replace the compressor at my OWN expense even though the compressor was still under warranty. LG did not take any responsibility for the warranty coverage they owed. Now, its been 4 years. Again the LG compressor is broken. Having such bad experience with LG, I am afraid to call the LG customer service again. Same story repeats again.... SHAME SHAME SHAME ON LG customer service... I would not even give one star if I has choice.
Puchased LG Washer (top loader) in May 2018, had it delivered & set up, and got NO instruction on how to use the item. It tears rugs, uses too little water, wastes water, does not clean clothes, and I am told to not wash heavy items, then again not to wash light items. No response from LG even after unknowledgeable repair visit, and Home Depot (Seller) will not return calls. Worst washer on the marked, for sure.
I bought an LG fridge (LSC27914ST/00) at Sears. Just after the warranty expired (one year after purchase), the ice-maker started dumping the ice tray to the box and then pouring the water straight to the box and then to the kitchens floor. Of course, the water situation repeats until somebody realizes and turns the ice-maker off. For the first two or three months, just putting back on position the tray was enough for a couple of weeks of good performance. Now, it is enough only for a couple of ice-making cycles. Never in my life will I buy an LG appliance.
Our LG Washer product WT1501CW, that was loaded with only a bed sheet flipped over into our dryer, spilled water onto our floor and put a hole in our wall. We have contacted LG several times and despite having a warranty, the RA department has said they will only cover a buy back at a reduced cost. After two technicians have come out, LG has stated they lost our paperwork and would need to set up a new claim and have another technician come out. The claim has been open now for 26 days with no resolution.
We bought this fridge in 2013. Had repair in 2015 control panel. Now its not cooling. Its still under warranty but guess what? No one works on them in my area. When you call they say, We dont work on LG refrigerators! Then why have the warranty. Its junk. I paid over $2 grand for a piece of junk. I called them. They give you numbers to service places. Then I call. They then tell me do work on them. I have told Lowes and they dont care. So I will. Never buy LG again.
Do not ever buy LG. The drawers have been replaced multiple times as well as shelving. Handle has been replaced twice and is broken again. Parts discontinue so now Im buying a new fridge. NEVER AGAIN LG.
We bought a LG gas conventional oven (model or serial # LG LRG3095ST) from Frys on March 13 2015. We did not open the box until today march 27 2015 and found that the door of the oven got one hinge loose... that mean the door is only connected to stove by one hinge and the other side is hanging when open. And there is a big dent on the stove... We rushed back to Frys in the city of industry to exchange it or return it... but we were told they wont accept our return or exchange. The return department at frys gave us the number 1800 243 0000 to contact LG to settle the problem... so we called LG and the LG operator told us that there is nothing they can do. I felt like it is not fair to us. We paid for a brand new oven and got a defective one and no one seemed to be willing take a responsibility for that. We are stuck with a defective stove. The service was very bad. We were actually told by the manager step out of my store, the exit is that way! twice. We would like them to exchange the oven or refund my money.. Thank you very much for your kind help.
LG French Door Refrigerator Error Code ER FF - I unplug my refrigerator at least once a day for 3-4 hours to prevent error code from coming on. I would have it repaired except changing the fan is only a temporary repair. Changing the fan will cost a couple of hundred dollars. That repair will only last at best a few months. LG needs to solve the fan freezing problem for a permanent repair.
Bought the WT110C top load with the front panel. Had it for a year now. Beautiful machine. Too bad it takes days to do a load because the machine wont stay balanced. You can babysit this thing for hours trying to get it through a spin cycle. Doesnt matter how you load it, small loads, big ones, mixed clothes, bulky bedding, on and on. I have tried every mode, trick, time, spin mode combination there is and still the dreaded UE code comes on. Occasionally it will make it through a load and when it does the heavens part and the angels sing and I feel like a winner. If you like to spend hours doing laundry and praying over a washer, this is the machine for you. LG needs to stick to cell phones.
Newer LG stainless steel dishwasher came with home we purchased 2011. Had to fix after two months of move in. It wasnt draining. Fixed then it had to be fixed. A few months after that, it wouldnt turn on. It has constant mold problem. I ran with bleach, I wipe between rubber molding inside where mold is with bleach, run vinegar cycle clean. Find mold on cups and mold grew all over wood handle item. Some rust on inside sides, 2 hour run time. Power button is way too sensitive, starts on own as bumping against it starts it. Also the tines on bottom rack are so close that front part bottom rack is unusable and top rack doesnt hold glasses well, had several glasses break. Bad design all around, bottom rack is very low to floor. I would never buy an LG dishwasher.
My LG refrigerator went out after 1.5 years. Got it from Home Depot Evansville Indiana. Called them first. They gave me the LG number. Called LG. They gave me a case number and approval number?? for no charge to fix its parts. Repairman they sent just looked at the model and serial numbers and said these cant be fix. He said LG has a lawsuit against them because they cant be repaired. He left and was to call us back. No call ever came from him. Called LG back. Told Richard (same person I spoke with the first time). He again said as before no repair person in our local area. He will notify their scheduling department again. Would take 1 to 2 days to get back with us. Still No Call Back. NEVER BUY LG PRODUCTS. Attorney time!!!
My 2.5 years old LG fridge stopped working 2 days ago. No warning. The front panel said the fridge was working at optimal temperatures, but everything defrosted. Vacuumed dust from vents around compressor, during the initial troubleshoot with no result...just came from a month of grocery shopping, as we usually do, a day earlier, before this headache. This is terrible for an appliance just a few years old. Very disappointed. I have a KitchenAid refrigerator that was replaced by this new product because of its space. It is still working after 13 years.
LG Refrigerator owned about 6 years trouble free. Woke up one morning to a freezer and refrigerator full of ruined food. Call LG and with smart diagnostic feature are told it is not cooling properly (Figured that out with spoiled food). Told need to be serviced by LG authorized service and was given a number to call. 155 for 5 minutes to diagnose bad compressor. LG is aware and has several class action lawsuits against them. Guy need to order part. LG warranty does not cover very expensive labor - 320+ to install. From all the reviews online - They install the same defective part and failure rate of the new one is very high- most fail within the next 12 months.
The dryer is efficient however, the front loader filter that is located inside the door, requires constant monitoring for tears and dismemberment of the felted seal. This prevents the dryer from either being more efficient or rendering a timely and efficient manner in drying the clothes. We have noticed that when we attempt to fix the felt, and a proper seal is achieved inside the dryer, the clothes dry quicker and more thorough.
I purchased the LG washer in 2013 using recommendations from Consumer Reports. The washer ran constantly until I had to control the cycles. It reminded me of the wringer washer that my mother used in the 1950’s. I had to set a timer to remind me to reset the machine. I was not satisfied with the cleaning quality of the machine. Finally, in 2016, I gave up, gave the LG away and bought a Whirlpool, which has met my expectations for a quality machine.
We purchased our refrigerator in Dec 2018, and it decided to quit on us this week; suspect it is the compressor. We called LG 2 days ago and finally got a return call from the repair company stating they can’t get to us until June 1st. LG only has 1 company in the entire area of Phoenix that does the repairs. How insane is that!So now, all of the freezer and fridge food we purchased to hold us off during this stay at home crisis is spoiling and thawing - into the garbage it goes. LG’s solution is to give us a $200 allowance to buy a mini fridge until the repair can be made. What’s up with that? That won’t cover the dollar amount for the food we have in the fridge/freezer and the mini fridge certainly won’t be able to store all that we have in the fridge/freezer. Then we’ll have the hassle of getting rid of a mini fridge after the refrigerator is fixed. There is a class action lawsuit. I guess LG figures what’s the point of fixing fridges quickly or compensating folks for spoiled food when they’ll just have to pay out later...probably less to the consumers, right? **
Bought the LG French Door refrigerator in July 2013 after researching and review customer reviews. Last week, we noticed the bottom freezer was working and the food was thawing. The next day, we called a local repair company to come take a look at the refrigerator who came over a day later. At that point, the freezer was not working and the refrigerator was barely cool. All the food stored in both sections had to be thrown away. We were told it was the compressor and immediately called LG helpline. We were advised that LG would replace the compressor but we would have to pay the service charge. The LG representatives tried to make an appointment but got errors. They gave us 3 service companies to call and make an appointment to repair our refrigerator. None of the 3 will come to our area (we are outside of Las Vegas, NV). The only exception was 1 company but we would have to pay travel time back and forth. This would amount to around 900.00 which included parts. We declined their offer. It is totally unacceptable that a refrigerator that we paid around 2200.00 is now unusable. We now have to buy another refrigerator, wait at least a week for delivery while in the mean time use a cooler filled with ice to keep essential cold and usable.
We purchased this product from a big box store around 2007. The ice maker failed after 4 years and flooded our kitchen. I was disappointed in LGs response, and elected to not replace the icemaker due to out of pocket cost and fear of future failure. I figured Id keep the refrigerator anyway, since it was relatively expensive. This past weekend, I went into the kitchen in the morning and smelled burning plastic. I opened the fridge only to find that the temperature control and lights had melted to the point of dropping from the ceiling of the fridge. It was hot inside the fridge to the point where the butter had melted and dripped out of the compartment and down the door. There were visible scorch/melting marks on the light compartment. I think if I had not been home this weekend, it would likely have caught fire. I think this fridge is a fire hazard, and caution anyone with this unit.Being a consumer who doesnt want to waste money, I wanted to rig the machine so that its not a total waste. I screwed the control panel back into the ceiling, and replaced the bulbs with low wattage (and low temperature) LED lights. It seems to be okay for now. I will be replacing this fridge in the near future, and will not buy another LG product.
I have waited over three months for my order to be filled by LG, I placed my order through an reputable online Dealer. The Dealer was very responsive at first, after the order was filled by LG and I paid in FULL they stopped returning my emails. The order was for a Multi F MAX LGRED System w/ four indoor units. The order was drop shipped by LG but I have not received ANY information from LG, all I have is a product shipped confirmation from the Dealer. So this sale is now in the hands of LG and I have no idea where my product is? Where it shipped from? Or how long I will wait for it? The Holidays approach and that may interfere with accepting any freight without prior arrangement for obvious reasons. I have no idea how to contact LG, or how I would reference my order even if I could contact them.Customer Care with this Company is ridiculously poor, I spent a bunch of money and I am in the Dark on my end. I cant review the product until I get my hands on it. But I can review the Manufacturer and their complete lack of customer Care and communication. I could have purchased something else, I should have, it would be installed by now and I wouldnt be wasting my time writing this out of sheer frustration with LG.
I was disappointed to find my refrig was aluminum instead of the stated stainless steel. To check yours apply a magnetic to it. If it sticks, it is steel. If it doesnt, it is probably aluminum. It is so hard to keep clean and I can no longer keep my recipes or keepsakes or photos on it. Although the sides are not aluminum they are too closed in to use. As far as the workings go, it seems to be working fine. However it is only a few months old. I have only one complaint so far. It cost 50$ to replace the water filter every 6 mo. Whats with that? I never had to replace it on my old one and had no problems. Of course it wasnt an LG. Then I read that you have to have a LG repair man only to repair it. Not very customer friendly. I wish I had read the reviews before buying. Ill know better next time...
Im writing this letter in regards to my refrigerator. Ive been having problems with my refrigerator since last October after several repairs done to the refrigerator. I had contacted the LG company regarding the fault that I have with my refrigerator. A technician came to check the refrigerator and placed the monitor, and because that they had already replaced the part in the refrigerator previously, they said there was no fault found. So, I asked for a copy of the report, and they refused to send me a copy. They sent me another technician to install another monitor, and the technician was so ore gent man. He said to me I must have bad luck to have the same problem with the refrigerator. I said, Do not say that. Dont mix my luck with a faulty LG product.I called LG and Jackson company. I told them about what the technician said to me and told them I dont appreciate any one, no matter who you are, to come to my house and accuse me of having a bad luck. So, they told me that the manager is away to make the final decision. I kept calling LG, and they said the manager was on holiday that went for a couple of months. Then finally, when I called back in May, they said the manager was back and there were no faults found and that your warranty has expired; you have to get your own technician. When I was going back and forward with LG, I was dealing with Rod. I had mentioned to him if there were no fault found, if I could get a second opinion and compare the results with their report. He refused, and he said, If you get any one to check the refrigerator, it will be no longer covered by warranty. Finally, I called last 14/8/2012 and complained how its not fair that I have been treated like it. It is not my fault for having a faulty LG refrigerator. Im still waiting for Jackson to call me again, going through what we have been through for the past almost 10 months. Thank you for your time.
Purchased LDF6920ST from Pacific Sales in 2011. Major leak and since dishwasher was moving from under cabinet, we called the installation company. The guys came out and replaced the water hose, and reinstalled the dishwasher. They turned the dishwasher back on and the water continued to leak from the bottom. Since they are installers, they checked the best they could for additional hose leaks but could find none. They recommended we get a new dishwasher! Shouldnt a $639 dishwasher last more than 4 years?! Im not happy.
RUST! Rust around bleach tray, lid lock, cabinet top edge, top at every penetration, and leaking, brown rust water from the lid hinges, then along back edge of lid. Rust began appearing less than three years after purchase but that is only when we noticed it erupting on outer surface. Opening the lid shows that it was probably rusting after first use. Besides all the cabinet parts and pieces rusting, it appears that most, if not all the internal screws, nuts, and washer holding it together are also severely rusted and especially concerning, the arms that the tub hang on are well rusted and three of four mounting washers for these arms (they support the wash tub, liner, and motor) are so severely rusted that I expect the supports to fail any day. It looked pretty when new and it was expensive but now, in less than three years, its junk! A warning to everyone to beware of ALL LG appliances.
I bought my LG Top Load Washer 5101 in March. Within a few days, I noticed scratches on the lid. I have no kids, no cats, nothing rough that I put on the lid. I called LG and they acted surprised that such a thing could happen. I asked for a new lid but they refused. So I returned the machine to Best Buy and got another one (I really liked how it cleaned). Its now August and even though Ive been super careful and have only put a plastic laundry basket on the lid, the strip closest to the glass has scratches all over it (and no, I dont have any mice).I was going to buy the matching dryer but now hesitate. I would love to be in contact with the woman who said her problems were cosmetic, too.
After two years of purchasing, the units (LG Tromm) started giving error codes with the door. Several parts replaced, cant fix a washer that cost $ 800.00. It has to be a way at least to fix and not to deceive customers like this.
LG True Balance washing machine - We purchased this machine brand new and was told it was top of the line in terms of quality and capacity. It was also at the top end of pricing. We have been dissatisfied in every way. It takes hours to complete a wash cycle and the only chance you stand of getting through a wash cycle without machine stopping every 10 minutes and showing an error code is if you wash like items, ie only towels or only jeans... and then you still often times have to reposition at least once. Many times I cant get the load to finish and have had to remove and wring out by hand soaked and dripping items from machine. We have balanced it every way possible and done all recommended troubleshooting. Techs say just wash like items... not realistic to wash that many separate loads. Would love to hear if anyone has figured out how to fix this issue.
Updated on 11/29/2021: LG kitchen appliance buyer please beware. Again, based on my experience, any potential buyer should do research on the dependability of the product and any posted customer experience comments before purchasing any LG kitchen appliance. I made a post 2 months ago on the unreliable refrigerator I purchased and the lack of customer service from LG. Shortly after that post I got action, but it has turned out to be just lip service. I have provided everything LG requested to get a prorated reimbursement for the refrigerator. I have been told on several occasions the reimbursement is approved and the check has been mailed. To this date, 11/29/21, I still have not received the check and I still have an unreliable LG refrigerator. The “promises” of me receiving a reimbursement, which come from as high up of the “liaison of the president”, apparently are meaningless. Bottom line is if you are planning to purchase kitchen appliances please, please consider my situation in order to avoid hours and hours of wasted time and frustration as well as money if you go with LG.Original Review: LG kitchen appliance buyer please beware. Based on my experience, any potential buyer should do research on the dependability of the product and the customer experience comments when something does not work like it should. We purchased the French door refrigerator in November 2019. We started having a problem with the freezer compartment getting too warm in April 2021. This is October 2, 2021 and the problem still exists. The customer service department scheduled repairs. Nine technicians from two different companies have worked on the refrigerator. Many components have been replaced including thermostats, rear cover panel and the mother board that controls everything. The problem revolves around the defrost cycle and the unit not being able to recover from defrosting. The compartment gets too warm, 41 degrees. The refrigerator compartment also gets to 41 degrees. Multiple times everything in the freezer has thawed and turned to liquid. Ice melts in the ice dispenser and runs on the floor. The issue has been escalated 4 times now. Three of those have been to the Defective Returns Department. They rejected the claim first due to “improper submission of the claim by their representative” and a second time because “the person handling the claim no longer works for the company”. I have emailed the President twice without a response even though his webpage says he will respond. My experience has been extremely poor and I still have a defective refrigerator. For $3,100 I expected a unit that would perform and last for a number of years. The company has no doubt spent near that amount of failed repair attempts. I’ve been told that my unit qualifies for either replacement or refund due to the number of repairs and due to the failure of the company to schedule repair within 14 days. This problem is a nightmare and has no resolution within sight. Life’s Not So Good with this kind of customer service and a company that does not stand behind its product. Buyer beware!
LG Washer WT1101CW - Terrible washing machine. If you buy this washer, dont expect to wash a small, medium, or large size load in a reasonable time period. Constant uE errors, tub fills with more water to try to adjust, etc. Or, we just get the uE error and have to run down the stairs to rearrange the clothes. Regardless of how careful we are with loading/arranging the wash, what type of wash we put in, etc, we have constant uE errors. It can take up to 4 hours to do one medium size load. Ive since read that the control panel may be faulty? We have a tech coming this week. There may be a software update needed? Who knew? (How would I know this! I didnt get any kind of message saying that the software was out of date! ) This will be the 4th tech visit this year. In addition, just for ** and giggles, we decided to do a tub clean cycle. You guessed it. uE error! So, obviously, if the washer cant even function to do a tub clean with JUST WATER in it, theres something wrong with this product. Dont buy it. You WILL be sorry. Im sorry that I cant give zero stars in this review!
I bought a front loading LG washer. It was one of the more pricey washers. Ive had it for 3 years and now it sounds like a 747 airplane is landing in the laundry room - LOUD grinding in spin cycle. The cost to replace this out of warranty is astronomical as it is a tub and bearing replacement. I posted this to the LG website for reviews and they sent me back an email saying the review did not meet their standards. I guess that is because it was a poor rating?? I will not do business with this company again. My previous washer lasted 10 years and this one only three - think I will skip LG in the future. It would be interesting to know how much LG earns on their repair side of the business.
I really like LG products. Ive never had any bad experiences with them. They are dependable and reason I priced and Ive owned several appliances and electronics made by LG. Of course more room on the inside or make the best of the size with shelves and drawers is always good. I chose LG because of the color and the interior of the cooler part and of the freezer part and Ive been very satisfied. I am very pleased with my LG.
Please learn from my mistake. In January 2018 I purchase over $6200 worth of LG products (Stove, Microwave, Refrigerator, Washer & Dryer). Within the first month, the stove started to smell like it had a gas leak. We called their repairman and he couldnt find anything. We kept smelling gas and called him back and he still couldnt find the problem. We had to turn off the gas after each use because we felt leaving it on was such a hazard. After 12 months, the microwave stove working. Now the refrigerator. We just purchased a different brand stove which works great! We have a LG graveyard started, its just a matter of time before the rest of the appliances end up there.
Im not sure what one more negative review will do for LGs image problem with its refrigerators. However you would think that as the reviews pile up and pile up that at some point the company might start dealing with the fallout and consumer dissatisfaction. My model is (rather was) a french door type with bottom freezer. While Ive had it the interior light bulb melted its plastic cover, Ive had the ice maker replaced twice, and the thermostat assembly has gone twice. Some on warranty and some not. The second time I decided to cut my losses (tons of food lost) and no comfort that the problems would end and replace my fridge. In these days of sustainability thinking however I remain upset with this company and the crappy product I bought. Thing is the glitzy outer casing looks brand new. What a shame.
Very unhappy with LG dryer. I bought the most expensive pair of LG washer and dryer. The dryer was fixed after 6 months of been purchased. Now it is broken again. Someone came to my house and said that he doesnt fix that this LG machine anymore. He called someone else that came a week later. Also didnt solved the problem. I have 5 years warranty. I dont know what to do. I cant close the dryer door. It keeps working non stop but takes 10 hours to dry a load.
I purchased an over the range microwave in June 2019 but unfortunately it has already stopped working twice. Both times the microwave turns on and counts down the time but does not heat up. I would like to think it just a faulty microwave but our brand new LG refrigerator has leaked twice and caused thousands of dollars of damage to our neighbor below our condo. LG refuses to replace either appliance and insists on making the same repairs over and over again until it is deemed a unfixable manufacturing defect. I will never buy LG appliances again.
On October 21st, our LG Model LMXS30776S/00 Refrigerator that was less than 2 years old stopped working. When I called LG Consumer Relations at 800-243-000 they took down our information. They then discussed their LG Premium Care Service Plan with us and provided us two options to get our fridge fixed. Option # 1, $450, Option # 2 $350. Option # 1 covers you for 1 year and the Option # 2 is for 3 months. We go with Option # 2. It is supposed to cover the labor and because the compressor broke that is covered by warranty by LG for 10 years from date of purchase. They set us up with one service repair company in our city, then call us a few days later to say they assigned it to another service repair company in our city. Turns out the second one is the only authorized LG repair in our city. They schedule an appointment, the earliest date, November 14th.On 11/14 the owner comes out and says the compressor is broke and the seal system has been contaminated and he will need 6 parts to fix this. On 11/15 the repair place calls me and says the LG warranty department will not authorize the fridge to be fixed. They are going to get another repair place to come fix it. On 11/16 after not hearing from the warranty division of LG (which is outsourced), I call them. It took 34 minutes before someone answered. They explain to me and say the repair company told us they cannot fix the fridge. I say that is a total lie. The guy then paused. I said I have spoken with them multiple times and they told me you would not authorize them to repair it because you now do not want to pay the labor cost. So LG sells us on the warranty program, but then when they find out the labor cost almost 3 weeks later, they refuse to pay it and tell us we will reimburse the $350 to you.So not only did our less than 2 year old fridge break, they do not honor their warranty programs that they sell to the consumer. I was transferred back to LG Customer Care and waited on hold 45 minutes. I never spoke to anyone again. I tried calling on 11/17 and they say wait times are too long, call back. I then proceed to do a live chat. They push me back to their 800. Long story short, DO NOT buy LG. However, you have to be careful, because LG makes refrigerators for Kenmore and others that are sold in Home Depot, Lowes, and Sears to name a few.LG does not stand behind their products. One local repair place in my city said they dropped LG because LG did not honor the warranties. They said do not buy LG and Samsung Appliances. So our options are to buy a new fridge, or pay someone over $800 to repair our less than 2 year old LG refrigerator. So, we paid $2900 for the LG fridge and now it will cost an additional $800 to get it fixed or we have to spend in the $1,000s to get a new one. I have never in 40 + years experienced such bad customer service with a product. I will never buy anything that LG makes or has made for another company. They do not stand behind their products. Their customer care representatives are terrible. Thanks LG. You lost a customer and hope many more after they read this for life.
I am so fed up with my two LG front load washers which I purchased in August, 2006. 1 1/2 years ago the cold water valve had to be replaced in #1 washer. Six months ago, the hot water valve had to be replaced in #2 washer. Today the cold water valve had to be replaced in #1 washer again. I paid over $2,000.00 for these washers. Doesnt anything last more than 4 years? Next time Im buying top loading, cheap washers so when they break, I will just throw them out and buy new ones.
I contacted customer service about my freezer dying, they told me that the earliest it could send a technician was 3 days. Ok they’re busy I can accept that. Oh but nobody shows up to repair my freezer after my wife took a vacation day so she could be home when he showed up. I returned a call back to customer support and the gentleman said to hold on he was going to call the technician. Then he comes back and tells me that he can’t get in contact with the technician but here is his number you can call them. After calling for the last 4 days still nobody to repair freezer! But oh does it get better because this morning now the refrigerator part is not cold. So again I contact customer support and the guy tells me he can’t get in contact with the technician. We have tried all week long what makes you think you could contact them today. Then customer support told me that he is going to change repair technicians and the earliest they could come out to repair would be 2 weeks. I said I can’t go 2 weeks without a refrigerator, could they reimburse me with another refrigerator. The answer is no we can’t do that till the technician says it’s un-repairable. So okay geniuses what do you do for 2 weeks with medication that needs to stay cold and not being able to afford eating out every day for 2 weeks. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT AND ONE MORE TIME DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM LG BECAUSE YOU CANNOT GET IT REPAIRED!!
Lg is a trustworthy company and provides reliable products. They always meet my expectations with their products and reliability. Lg can be trusted in your home and the purchase never disappoints. Lg products last a long time and have exceeded my expectations. Anything lg I try to buy for my home. I need a newer model of refrigerator but they are expensive. I need a new one but lg does not offer financing.
I bought a front load LG Washer almost 8 years ago. Amazing how much you can put in it! Never had any trouble with it. Amazing how much water it saves! Just proves that LG is exceptional. All my appliances will be LG-if I find them on sale. Theyre just a bit pricy for my budget. But worth it!
This LG WT5001CW top load wash machine is extremely awful! It would not get the clothes clean, is rusting out tremendously, and goes unbalance all the time. Plus it leaks water! I would not recommend LG for anything.
This microwave caught fire while steaming vegetables. We heard a snapping sound followed by the entire inside space bursting into flames. I was able to extinguish with no damage except to the microwave. Since the unit was only 10 months old and still under warranty I called LG. Their response was immediate and a technician (tech) was at our home the next day. Upon arrival and inspection he made a few comments: (1) Why did we clean up the damages inside the unit? (2) What happened? (3) I need to call home office to talk to inside Tech.He made the call as we stood there and a Tech on the phone asked him to send a video from his phone with instructions from the Tech on the phone. Once completed he hung up and said this unit is fried and needs to be replaced but two Techs from home office had to review. Ten minutes later they called back saying it was customer error due to GREASE FIRE and they would not repair or replace. My only choice was to escalate the claim to LG management which I did. After sending them store receipt I asked for the denial and reason in writing which they absolutely refused to give me. The next day they emailed me to say they set up a Return Authorization Review and I should hear from them within 2-3 business days. It is now five business days with no response!I went to the store where I purchased the LG microwave, gave them my notes and asked for help. Once reviewed by store and they seen what LG was putting me through they said they would replace the unit. Would you buy another LG product after reading about this runaround? I would not but I certainly will purchase again from Best Buy as they stood behind a product that the manufacturer, LG in this case, would not.
Ive owned the LG washer for over a year and I absolutely hate it. It washes for over an hour and clothes do not smell fresh. I have taken my clothes to a laundromat several time just to get clothes clean and smelling fresh. Washer does only moistens clothes. No water visible. It fails to clean so much I had battled bed bugs recently. I HATE THE WASHER. WORSE PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE IN MY LIFE. Now Im stuck. Biggest regret ever!! I will soon purchase an old-style washer. THIS SUCKS!!! I wish I could return washer and get my money back!!! PLEASE!!!
The refrigerator is nice looking and functional. It met our needs and there are no repair issues. Thats why were repeat customers with the brand. LGs quality, features, pricing, and reliability has made them our choice for kitchen and laundry appliances.
Although LG might make quality products, the dryer unit is too small and not tall enough, no pedestal, which requires bending down. Washer drum is huge, but too deep for my short stature. Instructions for liquid & powder use are not clear. Keeping units clean is a challenge.
The ice maker on this LG refrigerator is cheaply built. It stopped working correctly about 5 years after purchase. Generally we are happy with the performance of this refrigerator. The only issue we see is freezing of items in the refrigerator section even when the temperature is set on one of the lower settings.
We purchased an LG large capacity washer and dryer set 4 years ago. A few months ago, we noticed the so common thump, thump, thump. I looked inside the dryer and noticed the crack in the rear weld of the drum. I contacted LG. It took numerous calls over 3 weeks before I finally got someone who admitted that the drum had a 5 year warranty because of all the broken welds. Why wasnt this recalled? Why in the hell did it take me 3 weeks before someone owned up to this P.O.S. They put me in touch with Tanstel electronics for the repair. Tanstel tells me they will have to order the drum and will call me when it gets in. They say it should be in in about 2 weeks. 3 weeks later, I call Tanstel and am told, Yeah, the drum is sitting here, been here for a while, when do you want us to come out? Are you kidding me, why didnt they call me when it came in???? Tanstel comes out to do the repair, costs $150. The next load we put in, we notice that if the machine says it is finished in 5 minutes. It keeps on doing this. Apparently, when they replaced the drum, they damaged the sensor that tells the machine when the load is dry. Tanstel comes out again, repairs the sensor and leaves. The sensor still isnt quite right but is better than before. It is now a month later, and my drum doesnt turn anymore. I can hear the motor turning and can smell the rubber band that is supposed to turn the drum burning. I have had it!! I will never purchase another LG item again. Please learn from all the complaints on this board. LG doesnt care about customer service! LG doesnt care about repeat business!
I recently purchased over 10k in appliances from Home Depot and the Studio line of LG ranges is an engineering nightmare. As others have expressed on their reviews, this range (LG Studio 6.3) presents a very risky and dangerous fire hazard. We did a complete remodel on a new beach house and used all studio LG products, we do not even as yet occupy the house and have never cooked on the stove, nonetheless, mere bumping of the knobs will cause them to turn on unbeknownst to the passerby... Our new 150k custom kitchen would have been set alight if my husband had not smelled the smoke from another room. This has already happened 3 times in the month the range has been installed with no one actually occupying the residence! In disbelieve I did a google search and lo and behold this seems to be a common denominator for all LG range owners. I have contacted Home Depot and LG (Blah blah... We will send a tech. Lol.) however my brother who is a NASA engineer had a look and determined it is an engineering design flaw. It appears LG is closing this model out however if they had any credibility they will recall this immediately before there is serious injury or death... If there has not been already. I am speaking with a law firm next week about a possible class action suit and will post on this site with any information. If you are considering this product, you should do this with the utmost caution, it is a dangerous design.
I bought an LG front-loading washing machine. Within 2 years, the cycle stopped repeatedly in the middle of a wash. An internal part had broken. I had to replace it at cost. The same replacement broke the next year. I replaced it at cost. That same replacement broke. Same story. I asked myself if it was part of LGs plan to make faulty parts so the consumer would have to pay every year to replace them. After 6 years, the programming motherboard broke (dont ask me what it is called -- it manages all the settings on the machine) completely broke down. The wash stopped repeatedly during a cycle so I had to restart again and again and a 30-minute wash would take 2 hours. Many times it never finishing the final spin. LG said the replacement part would be $150.BUT then they called back and said since the machine is 6 years old, they wont supply the part anymore. They wanted me to buy a new washing machine after 6 years! I told them I would never buy another LG product. Instead I found the part from a third party supplier, and I hope my machine will last another 10 years so I dont have to spend on a completely new machine. My advice: NEVER BUY from LG unless you plan to replace parts every year and replace your entire expensive appliance every 5-6 years. Since they stop supplying parts, you will need a new machine.
I waited four months for this refrigerator to be delivered from Lowes which is ridiculous to begin with. This refrigerator is so obnoxiously noisy. The compressor runs virtually non stop with a high pitch fan noise. I called LG and complained and first the rep acknowledged that the compressor should cycle down but when I said it doesnt then he said that was normal. I held the phone up to back of frig and he couldnt hear or said he couldnt hear it so theres nothing wrong. His tone was rude. This thing is torturing us with constant noise and we had a tech out who raised the front legs and now on top of high pitched compressor noise theres a loud low vibration humming. This frig is so loud it drives everyone out of the house, out of 3 rooms adjacent to refrigerator. Now we have to call Lowes to return it and we have no back up because we had them remove the old refrigerator when this new one came. WARNING: DO NOT BUY A LG REFRIGERATOR ESPECIALLY WITH LINEAR COMPRESSION!!! Its a nightmare to try and live with.
After reading review after review on this site detailing the same issues I have had with my $3000 LG French door refrigerator, I will not waste time with detailing the issues I have had with this trash LG product. Same no-customer-service response from LG; the service company they gave us hasn’t worked for them for 2 years! We finally had to go directly to Home Depot to get a service repair person to come and look at our refrigerator. It has been two weeks without my refrigerator and hopefully it will get fixed today. But according to the other reviews that I read that may not be the last of my problems with this refrigerator. I am not hopeful. This is the second LG refrigerator that has had this problem; Home Depot, who has pretty decent Customer Service, replaced this same exact refrigerator one year ago. That refrigerator was only a year old when this exact same problems of the compressor going out occurred. The repairmen who are here today said they have been extremely busy lately repairing LG refrigerators with this problem! I am SO frustrated! I feel like someone has stolen thousands of dollars from me! DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!!
Bought LG french door refrigerator one year ago and died on me 2 days ago. Called LG customer service and asked to come out asap but they scheduled me 2 days after. More than half of my foods worth $300 had to be thrown away. I live in Valencia weather over 105 degrees and was very frustrated had to wait for them at this weather. They schedule me on time frame from 10-5 pm to wait for them. Still waiting and cant get out of the house all day since it was a emergency matter of food being melted and rotten. I called local tech to see what is wrong and charged me $70. When I called LG support to reimburse money I had to spend they said they cannot give money back. I was very disappointed how they deal with issue. This is brand new LG refrigerator paid $2700 and main compressor dies in a year doesnt make sense whatsoever. I will not be buying LG Appliance anymore.
LG French refrigerator is only 4 years old and it just stopped cooling, causing all of the food to spoil. Customer service is a complete joke. Most appliance repair companies will not even attempt to work on LG since customer support is a total farce. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT PURCHASE ANY LG APPLIANCES.
We purchased an LG refrigerator in Feb 2019. Since purchase we have had service out over 3 times. For issues the primary is noise... We were told by the technician the newer models are cheaply made and not as insulated that is why you hear the noise. Cannot be fixed. Dealing will LG warranty company is another issue. Long hold time and issues getting a service company to come out. I would never recommend a LG product. We also have an LG microwave purchased at same time is now out. Have to wait a week to get someone out. I wish I had my old refrigerator back. Worked fine. Just decided to upgrade appliance. Big mistake.
First Im 5 ft 2 in, I need a stepladder to reach my close in bottom of washer, pain in the butt, then only 4 yrs old, a valve stuck on filling my washer to overflowing, it flooded my home, ruined my floors and they wont cover anything but fix the washer 2 weeks later, so I would not recommend this product. If I would have left and came back, my home would have been totally gone and my insurance I would have had to use and put out a deductible, and my rates would have went up or dropped because of the malfunction. It was a nightmare trying to get through to the number for your warranty, thank goodness Allen at Home Depot got the ball rolling for me, but would not recommend product or warranty. Next time Im buying the cheapest washer out there for the money in spent.
I bought my washer 2007, and have been disappointed because my clothes are not getting clean. The washer does not have a lot of water in it and the only way I can get any in it is with Water Plus. Sometime my clothes come out not even clean. I tried everything to get more water in it. I always had a top loaders that filled the tub. I thought that one of my hot or cold water valves was not working but, they do. I know somehow I am saving on water, but I would rather have clean clothes. Thought I was the only one until I seen these reviews. I am putting up with machine for now, but when I buy another one I will try to find one that is not he and probably not a LG.
This is a letter I sent to the President and CEO of the Co. I am writing in regards to a repair problem Im having with my LG refrigerator model #LFX31025ST. At the beginning of May 2017 I noticed that it was not cooling properly and making a strange sound. Within a few days the temperature was well above normal range 45 degrees plus and continued to rise in the both the refrigerator and freezer. At that point I made a call to LG, (May 8) and was told my extended warranty was expired but I was still covered with my manufacturer warranty for the compressor. I then purchased a warranty from Assurance as suggested by LG customer service for the cost of $358. Had an appointment set up, then waited 16 days for the first appt. The first technician that came out said it was the condenser and he needed to order a part. (Service date May 19.) The second tech came out on (service date June 5) to install condenser and said the compressor was bad as well and that apparently the first tech missed it. He then proceeded to order parts but never bothered to call when they came in, until I called 4 or 5 times to inquire. My next service date was on June 21. Repairs made, but still did not cool! He also made a total of 3 cuts to my new kitchen floor which I have pictures of and never mentioned it to us! We didnt notice until the Authorized LG Tech saw upon pulling out the fridge for the 3rd repair. Our next service date was June 27, but the tech was a no-show. Called LG and they apologized and said it was their fault for not confirming. At that time I was set up for another appt. on July 5. When they didnt show again I was told by LG that when they called G&A Appliance (the co. that had been servicing us) G&A stated there was nothing more they could do. I still dont understand why they would make me wait another 8 days before saying something. So LG set me up with a Authorized Service Tech who came out on July 19. He examined the fridge and found the subsequent work to be inferior and not complete. More parts needed to be ordered and installed.Next repair date July 25, work was done, system seemed to be cooling before tech left. Was advised not to put anything in it for a couple days just to be sure. Over the next 48 hrs the fridge got down to a temp of 45 but no lower and the freezer got to 20 but no lower. Called LG back to sched. tech to come back out and was told there was no openings. I asked to speak with a supervisor and got a nice woman named Brenda, who said she was putting me on a anytime/anyday timeframe. She was also marking it as a reclaim.Waited 6 days and never heard from anyone so called back on Aug 2 and spoke to Jewel who said I was on the sched. for Aug 8. Well Aug 8th arrived and no service tech!!! Called and spoke to Jason this time and was told I needed to sched. my appt. through Assurant because my original warranty was up. Well my compressor is warrantied for 10 yrs so no, my warranty is not up and the repairs thus far have not worked. Well I complied and called Assurant and was told they have no available appointments... Really?? He said to call back in a few days to see if theres an opening. I have never heard of such a thing. So in summary Ive been without my refrigerator for over 3 months with apparently no fix in sight. Spent countless hours, yes HOURS on the phone explaining my problem and setting up appts. I bought my LG refrigerator only 5 yrs ago along with a stove, microwave, and dishwasher all LG. The fact that the fridge had a 10 yr compressor warranty was a big part of our decision to purchase, not mention the roomy interior as opposed to other manufacturers models and the excellent LED lighting! At this time Im asking for a replacement or refund of this product which you have been unable to repair under the warranty. I feel that I have been more than patient in this matter. I really cant continue to live out of a cooler. I appreciate you taking the time to read my email, I look forward to speaking with someone to resolve this matter.
Purchased the Refrigerator in October-2016 after we flooded. The refrigerator stayed in its box that it was delivered in until December 2016 when it was installed. In April-2019 the refrigerator quit cooling and we lost all of the food that was in the refrigerator. We called and reported it to the company and made an appointment for someone to come and look at it. No one showed up for the day we set the appointment in which my wife stayed home the entire day waiting on.We called that evening or the next day and was told it would be the next week before someone came out because the part wasn’t in. The question at that time was what part was ordered because no one had been out yet to see what was wrong with it. Someone did show up the next week and changed the compressor out. Since then the refrigerator makes a loud noise when the compressor kicks on. We have called back about the noise and someone came back and looked at it and thought he fixed it. It still makes the loud noise and we have called again but no one has come out to look at it again.
We have owned our refrigerator for 2 years exactly & the compressor went out. LG has a 5 year warranty however the repair company they use continues to cancel & reschedule the appointment. We have now been without a refrigerator for 3.5 weeks. And will be waiting even longer. With no end in sight. I really wish I never have bought an LG refrigerator!
I have purchased an LG washer dryer model FH4U1JBH2N for £839.00, and I have received the appliance with a manufacturer defect. The washer dryer does not have the right control panel (no Drying option available on screen). No other option was offered apart from keeping the washer dryer and sending a technician to fix the defect. Imagine you purchase a cabrio car after checking the photos, the store and reviews. But you receive a regular family car... the manufacturer states that they can only come to you and cut the car open to transform it into a cabrio. In other word, you purchase a new machine, and it comes with a defect, and the manufacturer are not dependable for not meeting the specifications. What sort of company is LG? Would you like to do business with a company that does not care of the consumer/customer? Feels like, that what they see are just numbers... making profit out of people who trust a brand. DO NOT PURCHASE AN LG PRODUCT unless you want to face poor customer care, poor after sales care, poor manners over the phone, poor quality of the product and most importantly 0 dependability. I had the washer-fake-dryer since the end of August 2016 and its useless as it does not do the job I purchased it for. The retailer does not want to recollect the product as they state it is LG which has to approve the recollection. LG states it is not their issue.
After reading on the energy savings we bought an LG HE front loader in 2010. Well, after reading my booklet and other information, I understood that have to keep the door open to not have odors in the washer. We have terrible build-up of mold inside the rubber gasket. I am allergic to mold. I have to get in there and clean with bleach but still comes back. I will say it cleans my clothes. You only need a tablespoon of detergent. But my problem now is the terrible LOUD noise it makes every time it empties the water out. Goes off-balance all the time with small loads. CANNOT wash a small throw rug. Its IMPOSSIBLE to find a reputable repairman. My mom bought the same washer 2011 and now her motor went after others issues with leaking. Shes going out and buying another name brand. I would never buy another LG appliance again.
I had the refrigerator for approximately without any problems. Style, price and capacity were the primary reasons I chose this particular refrigerator brand. In addition, the refrigerator was an appropriate items for the decor theme in the kitchen. Accessible water and ice from the door of the refrigerator, ample storage space for items placed in the refrigerator, blending of the refrigerator with the kitchen decor, ease of cleaning the inside and exterior surfaces and the quietness in the operation of the mechanical parts represent features I liked about the refrigerator. Shortly thereafter, issues developed with the ice maker that included water dripping from the ice container into the dispensing tray that eventually caused severe damage to the wood floor. In addition, maintaining an appropriate cooling temperature fluctuated, requiring a service technician attention.
It was virtually impossible to get a repair service for LG refrigerator warranty work. It seemed to me that LG was making it difficult just so I would give up and not request the service. I could fill pages of text with all the frustration this service caused me. Two stars because of my determination I finally was able to get a warranty service to repair the LG refrigerator.
Refrigerator: Model No. LFX31945ST 3-door LG Ice & Water Stainless Steel 28 Serial No. 207KRWZ0A593 purchased on 09/16/2012 from hhgregg 1321 Huguenot Rd. Midlothian, VA 23112. Contacted LG Service Department on 07-01-13 Ref: Ice Maker. 07-03-13 Service Technician came out and ran a diagnostic on unit, determined that compressor was bad and had to order one. 07-06-13 9:20 PM Contacted service center and was advised that technician was due on Monday 07-08-13 between 8:00 AM and 12 Noon to replace compressor. 07-09-14 Contacted service center about noise coming from back of refrigerator. They advised that this was normal. 08-15-14 Contacted service center about noise coming from back of refrigerator. They advised that this was normal. Unknown date contacted service center concerning error codes “er rf” on display unit. Technician scheduled to come out on 10-01-14.10-01-14 Service technician arrived to check on noise and cooling issues. Coil and fan motor frozen with ice. As technician was removing inside grille to get to fan he broke the grille. He defrosted the ice from the fan motor and replaced the grille with one he had in his truck. Set temperature for refrigerator to +34 degrees and temperature for freezer to -1 degree. He wrote up the service ticked and charged $81.98 for the “Duct Assembly, Multi (item number: **)” that he broke plus the $120 for service call plus $4.34 tax on the replacement grille part. 10-06-14 Sent Fax to a ** in the Alabama location concerning telephone conversation in which he advised LG would reimburse me for the cost of the repair part plus the tax. Fax included cover sheet, two page service ticket and copy of purchase order from hhgregg.10-22-14 Called service center and after a 20 minute hold to verify my status, was advised that I should hear from Alabama around November 3rd. 07-10-15 Around 4:52 PM Eastern Time, called service center and advised them that freezer was not freezing (temperature was 62 degrees and rising) and that all food in freezer had spoiled. Furthermore, the refrigerator temperature was almost 70 degrees and food had spoiled. Additionally the unit was making a loud motor noise in the rear of the unit. After trying to explain the issue over and over again I requested to speak to a supervisor. I was placed on hold for 38 minutes and 26 seconds until I disconnected the call from my cell phone, but not before I had called the service center again from my house phone. It was only after I explained everything again that I was informed that the executive staff (supervisors) department closed at 5:00 PM and that I could not run the “Smart Diagnostic” over the telephone because all of the service technicians in their department had also gone at 5:00 PM, that I would have to call back tomorrow on 7-11-15. The service center advised me that the service warranty had expired and any service call would be $120.00 plus parts. This was mentioned on three different times during the call. I did manage to schedule an appointment for a technician to come to the house on Monday, 7-13-15 between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Total time on the telephone service call was 58 minutes and 44 seconds.7-11-15 Called the service center again and had to explain everything that I explained twice the night before. After requesting to run the “Smart Diagnostic” I was placed on hold then performed the diagnostic. After a delay they informed me that the diagnostic did not come through and we had to do it again. Once that went through I asked what it showed and was told that they did not know, that someone from the technical staff had to review it. They told me that they could schedule a technician to come out to the house on Tuesday afternoon on 7-/14/15 but there would be a $120.00 service call charge plus the cost of any parts. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and they asked me what that was about. Finally after going back and forth with them I was placed on hold for about 12 minutes before a supervisor identified as ** came on the line. She asked what the problem was and then placed me on hold while she brought up my file on her computer. That took another 5 plus minutes. Finally after explaining everything to her about the previous night and current call she placed a one-time extended warranty on the unit and gave me an authorization number of: **. She advised that she could get a technician out on Tuesday afternoon 7/14/15 and when I told her that I had one already scheduled for 7/13/15 she confirmed it. This call was then terminated after 58 minutes and 11 seconds.7-13-15 Contacted by service technician at 3:12 PM who advised that he would be arriving in about 20 minutes. He asked what I thought was wrong with the unit and I replied that I thought that the compressor had gone bad. I explained the temperature readings and the noise it was making. He stated that if it was in fact a bad compressor that he could not fix it today as he did not have one with him and would have to order one. He arrived at 3:38 PM, removed the lower back grill panel to access the compressor and noticed a lot of dust on the evaporator coils. I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils. He went back out to his truck to get his gauges and checked the compressor which he determined was bad. He advised that he was fully booked for tomorrow, Tuesday, 7/14/15 but would press his schedule and plug me in on the end of the day. He departed at 4:04 PM advising that he would call when he was on his way out to replace the compressor. 7-14-15 Around 1:23 PM service technician ** called to advise he was on his way. Compressor delivered via FEDEX this afternoon and left at the garage door. Technician arrived at 1:30 PM, completed compressor swap and departed at 3:30 PM.06-04-16 Noticed that items inside the refrigerator were not as cold and normal that that on several occasions milk and dairy products were spoiling before the “Best if Used By” dates. The inside temperature of unit felt cool and not cold. Placed thermometer inside the refrigerator portion of the unit and began taking readings. Also noticed that freezer unit was not as cold as it should be also. Placed thermometer inside the freezer unit and began taking readings as well. Temperature settings on the panel are set the same as the technician left them on his last visit on 7/14/15. Refrigerator set to 34 degrees and freezer set to -1 degrees.06-05-16 At 9:00 AM took temperature readings. Performed self-diagnostic as per link and advised to contact LG repair at (866-558-2559). Refrigerator was showing 50 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 6 degrees on a digital thermometer.06-06-16 At 12:10 PM called LG toll free number and automated system advised they would call back within the next two hours. At 12:15 PM was connected to a Customer Service Rep in the Philippines. I requested several times to be connected to an American Customer Service Rep in the United States but was told three times that there were no US representative at their location. After my fourth attempt I was placed on hold. At 12:18 PM the Philippine rep came back on the line and advised that they did not have a US contact number. I requested to speak to a supervisor and when queried as to why I explained that I wanted to speak to a US rep and that her service center should have a number. She put me on hold again. At 12:21 PM she came back on the line to advise she will transfer me to a supervisor. At 12:27 transferred to ** in the Alabama office. After trying to explain my issues with her she placed me on hold several times explaining they are using new software programs and have glitches. She is trying to plug in the extended warranty on the unit. She returned on the line to advise that she had scheduled the technician ** to come out between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM under Authorization Number **. She further advised that this authorization included the service call plus parts and labor. ** also provided a direct number to the Alabama Service Center at **. The telephone contact was terminated after 50 minutes and 47 seconds at 1:00 PM.06-07-16 At 11:15 AM received call from Service Tech who advised that he would be out within the next 15 – 30 minutes. He arrived at 11:35 and performed a refrigeration pressure check on the system. He stated that it appeared there is a leak at one of the coil joints where the copper joins the aluminum. He indicated that the High Side pressure dropped 30 psi with no movement on the Low Side and that indicates a leak somewhere in the system. He further stated that much drop could indicate only a ½ charge or less of coolant presently in the system. He explained that there was a company issue with ordering parts to have them overnighted to the customer. Lately the parts have been shipped to him which delays service. He stated that the parts he needs will be overnighted to me and should be here NLT 10:30 AM tomorrow, Wednesday, June 8th. He has scheduled an appointment for Thursday at 1:00 PM just to be safe and at present he only has one appointment for tomorrow. If I receive the parts tomorrow morning I am to give him a call and he will work me into his Wednesday schedule. He indicated that the job would take several hours to complete (Of note: He asked me if I was removing the rear access panel to blow out dust and vacuum the coil area. I told him that on 7-13-15 I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils. He told me that he did not say that, that he highly recommends the customer remove the rear access grille and try to blow out the dust and debris, then vacuum the debris up, just being careful not to get near the vanes or coils.). After placing the order for the parts to be shipped/overnighted here he departed at 12:05PM.06-08-16 At unknown time, received call from Service Technician to advise that the FedEx tracking indicated that the parts he had ordered had arrived. I confirmed that and he indicated that he would be arriving sometime around 11:00 AM. He had ordered both a refrigerator coil and the freezer coil which had arrived and be commenced disassembling the inside of the refrigerator to swap out the refrigerator coil which he felt had a small leak on one of the connections. After steaming ice off of the end or the coil he replaced it with the new one. He then checked the pressurization on the lines and said that he was satisfied with the as it did not appear there were any leaks. After checking other things in the unit he packed up and departed advising that he would check back to see how the unit was performing.06-09-16 At 8:52 AM received a call from Service Technician, who was checking on the performance of the unit. I advised him that it did not appear to be cooling as he had predicted, that the freezer was in the teens and the refrigerator in the lower 40’s. He advised me to keep a check on it and he would schedule me for the first of the week. 06-12-16 At 3:14 PM received a call on answering machine from Service Technician who advised that he has me scheduled for Tuesday, 6-13-16 between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.06-13-16 At 2:07 PM received a call from Service Tech who advised he would be here within the next 10 - 15 minutes to check on the unit again. He arrived at approximately 2:25 PM and proceeded to first blow out the dust that had accumulated under the unit and on the coils which was minimal. He then began to test the system refrigerant and determined that it was not up to capacity. He then vacuumed the lines and added some additional Freon. He advised that it appeared that there was a little water in the line which he was able to purge. He indicated that the unit should work fine at this point with the cooling in the refrigerator set to 34 degrees and the freezer set to 0 degrees. I told him that I would continue to take temperature readings in both the refrigerator and freezer and if I noticed them not performing I would call him and let him know. After about 1 ½ hours of work he departed.06-14-16 At 8:53 AM received a call from Service Technician asking how the unit was performing. I texted him back at 11:39 AM advising that the refrigerator was at 37 degrees and the freezer was at 9 degrees. At 12:15 PM Service Technician called again to advise that he had mistakenly had a parts order sent to our house and wanted to know if was OK for him to come by and pick it up. I advised that it was not a problem. He asked about the refrigerator and I advised him that I would continue to monitor the temperatures several times during the day and evening for the next few days to see if the system performs as expected and would advise him of results. He advised that he will continue to check up on it and would be calling periodically. On 05-24-17 we returned home from an extended vacation to discover that the ice maker was not producing ice. Door was dispensing water but there was no ice in the door-side ice maker and therefore nothing to dispense. On 06-05-17 At 12:18 PM I contacted the Executive Offices in Alabama at ** to explain the issue I was having with the ice maker not working. The person I spoke with, whose name I failed to get, advised me that she would give me the number of the local service center to schedule an appointment for a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. There would be charges for the technician to come out, charges for the diagnostic, charges for parts and labor since the unit was past its one year warranty and had already been given a one- time courtesy and she was not going to issue another one. I was basically out of luck but could get it fixed through the technician with service call charges plus parts and labor. While the service technician was very personable and professional, that is the only thing good I can say about me experience with this company. The technician even told me on several occasions during his visits that the parts i.e. compressors, etc were inferior and the technicians were having all kinds of problems with them. With the experience that I have had in dealing with this company, I doubt that I will every purchase anything else with the LG label.
