LG made us buy the extended warranty last year when our fridge needed service, something that would cover any necessary repairs in the future as they recommended. Now, our fridge needs service again but LG is not committing to any repair. Instead they want to refund us what we paid for the warranty minus $100 (which $298), even though it says in the contract that they would reimburse the value of the fridge if the repair to the unit is deemed not cost effective. Shame on you LG for not honoring the contract. Ill call my senator, and every phone numbers out there to bring this to light.

Until I replaced the thermostat, the oven was unable to maintain temperatures within 100 degrees. It now works fine. The center gas nozzle used for grilling has never worked and it’s really a pain in the butt trying to remove the top to gain access to it.

I purchased the Wave Force True Balance LG washer in March 2013. Thirteen months later it stopped working and needed a clutch and motor, a repair fiasco that took over three weeks. It has consistently displayed the uneven load sign, adding water and taking an eternity to finish while I stand there rebalancing the load. Today a 50 minute cycle took three hours. I have called LG many times with no resolution to the problem. This machine has big issues. I will never buy an LG product again, and next time this machine breaks, and it will, it goes out in the trash. LGs website and customer service department is sadly lacking.

We saw the LG refrigerator in the store and we were interested in it. It has the French door and the under freezer, and we had a normal purchasing experience when we got it. Its been working well so far but we had to have some work done on it because the compressor failed. They fixed it under warranty though.

Bought a Kenmore french door SS fridge for my son less than 4 years ago. Its made by LG. A week ago it stopped working. Had an ex-LG service rep, now an independent repairman, come out to fix it. He made 5 trips. Each time thinking it was a different circuit board after talking with the LG tech department. In the end, he determined it was the compressor that had failed. Most folks Ive talked to said its not worth fixing, just buy a new fridge. From this site, it seems that this is a fairly common problem, and that LG makes a deficient product. Every other fridge Ive owned (and I have 5 rental properties in addition to our own home) have lasted just about forever. Lesson: stay away from LG products!

I bought an LG front loader in December 2013. It went out in May of this year. I was told by LG I should have bought an extended warranty. The entire panel is out and it would be cheaper to buy a new machine. Ridiculous to say the least. Never again.

Over Thanksgiving, I noticed that the refrigerator lights were on and would not go out. By the time I noticed, the whole plastic light cover had melted and was sagging down. It finally fell off. The temp. reading on the door read 85 F! I had previously and the fridge replaced three times for other problems. The model of this one is LFD22860TT.

I purchased a brand new LG top loading washing machine and dryer a few months ago and have had nothing but problems with the washing machine. Not only does it NOT clean my clothes, but it actually causes yellow stains to appear on my white cottons. I have contacted LG a number of times and they have just given me the Royal runaround with absolutely NO satisfaction. They have had me do smart analyses and even sent a serviceman to my house twice when I have tried explaining to them multiple times that there is nothing mechanical wrong with the machine...its just a manufacturers design defect (that would be LG). They refuse to listen or agree. I have tried 5 different detergents and now they want me to try pods and even buy a water softener which I do not need because my water is not hard. I had a Kenmore for many years before this lemon, and it worked just fine with my water. I begged LG to exchange this washer for one that actually cleans since I have a warranty as well as an extended warranty and they refuse to do anything at all. They asked for images of the damaged clothes which I sent and cant even get a call back not to mention the fact that the call center is in the Philippines and communication is very difficult and frustrating. They have worn me down which Im sure has been their purpose. My husband and I went out today and had to purchase a new washer and dryer and pay a whole lot more money and take a beating. LG should be ashamed for giving us NO assistance with this faulty product. We did NOT purchase an LG product today nor will we ever purchase one again. They are NOT honorable with their guarantees. So, Buyer Beware! I am happy to lend further info or advice to anyone who wishes to contact me.

Purchased an LG refrigerator 5 years ago at a cost of approx 3000US from Brandsmart USA in South Florida. The unit was shipped to Trinidad and Tobago W.I. The compressor failed a week ago. LG boasted of a 10 yr warranty on the linear compressor. After reviewing on the internet, it would seem that LG has a major problem with this model compressor FC75LBNA. and instead of doing a recall or ensuring the problem with the compressors are fixed, they continue to sell the same compressor with the same fail issue. My local service tech who inspected the refrigerator said every other LG unit he attended to had this exact problem. (Yes there are more suckers like me here in our country who got fooled by LG) Long and short LG USA said my warranty is void because the unit was shipped out of the USA. This was not told to me by the sales rep at Brandsmart who were quite happy to take my money. So now I either throw out a 3000US unit or import a compressor and quite likely experience the same problem again.

Only got 6 years out of my $1,000 fridge. While we were on vacation for a few days the fridge went from cold to hot. I was told by the repairman that the freon all leaked out (probably due to a pipe issue) quickly and the compressor blew warm air into the fridge for a few days (at least the compressor is working). He also said that the $ to get to the pipes to repair them doesnt makes sense to keep the fridge. Not buying LG again.

I bought this machine in March, 2016. I got a 10 year warranty and that was a selling point. Ive followed the manual to the T. I clean the water filters, tub clean every month, etc. So I am doing my due diligence. However, since the day I got it it hasnt done a load the same way twice no matter the setting. It doesnt use enough water and ruins clothing. I have a very bad back so I had to put a short hose to connect to my slop sink because it was taking a toll on my arthritis. It cannot even begin to do a heavy duty load! I always have to add more water to every single load so that nothing gets ruined. My old machine was 20 years old and did an incredible job compared to this piece of junk. I bought rubber foot holders to make sure it didnt move around which did work but the machine itself is useless. My husband has to wear fire retardant clothing to work, which is extremely expensive, and even when I add water it continues to destroy these from clothes faster than Ive ever seen a washer abuse clothing. The load sensor is useless. Its just there for bells and whistles. There is supposed be an app to tag on to the machine to do smart diagnosis. There is no such app available anywhere. But it says there is and gives step by step instructions on how to do it which takes up more pages in the manual than anything else in there. But its just filler to make it look good. This was a selling point I liked too, but as I said, its non-existent. Ive tried contacting them a few times but I dont get any response. None. I need to either get them to replace this with something that actually works or return my money. I should have bought the Samsung like was going to initially. Every time I try to use the Bulky/Bedding cycle it fills the tub to the very top and Im always afraid its going to overflow. Even if its not a big load it fills to the top. Now, this is supposed to be a high efficiency machine but I hardly call that efficient at all. I need something that works. On top of it all, I bought at H.H. Gregg near me which isnt even there anymore and I refuse to let them come look at it just to tell me I need a new main board, which seems to be the reason for everyones problems, according to all the reviews Ive read. LIFE IS NOT GOOD WITH THIS MACHINE! I need real help here. If anyone can suggest something positive that might get me a new machine that actually works, Im all ears.

I bought a LG electric dryer DLEX3250W Dec 21/14, and on Dec 30/16, the motor that turns the drum. If it hadnt been for the observant person placing the clothes in the dryer, it would have caused a fire. The element was working on high heat. The dryer cost was over $700 and had to be replaced or fixed. Not impressed with this short life span of an LG dryer.

This WT5075CW washer is completely useless. I am going to have to replace it, and I have only had it a little over a year, but I cant take it anymore. It gets unbalanced on the spin cycle for no apparent reason. I only was like weight and size clothes together. I rearrange the clothes when it gets unbalanced and then restart. It starts filling with water again and stops unbalanced again. I try the Spin Only cycle. Same thing. I was the same loads every week and it is completely random as to which load will have this problem. Last week, it was the delicates – how can they cause an unbalance???!!! I am left with an entire load of sopping wet clothes that I have to drain over the top of the washer, hang out on the patio until the dripping stops and then dry in the dryer for over an hour. I called my BrandsMart extended warranty repair team out and they said that is how the washer was designed and charged me $60.

We recently purchased the LG front loading washing machine. After three months it flooded our floor. We spent thousands of dollars in water removal. Upon looking online we saw that many other LG customers had the same problem with this washer. LG customer support was horrid, rude and of no help at all. They could hardly care less about their customers. After being on hold for hours I was told that someone would contact us in 5 business days. We are basically out thousands of dollars and will just recycle the machine as we dont want to sell it and have this happen to someone else. It is essentially unworkable and still under warranty. Go figure... My score on this washer is a -5.

I bought my kitchen appliances less than 3 years ago, all LG brand, brand new from Home Depot. My dishwasher has given us some issues over the last year and come to find out the electronics are not covered under the 10 year warranty that is plastered on front of the appliance. No big deal, my husband was able to fix it. However, our refrigerator is a different story. It stopped cooling. We called LG. We waited a week for a repairman who was not qualified to fix refrigerators. He stated, I dont fix refrigerators. I work on washers and dryers. But with the help of the tech support he was able to determine it was the compressor. I was instructed to call LG with a case number and they would send out a qualified person to fix the problem. This was on a Friday. I called back late Monday afternoon to check on the progress and told they still havent found anyone to fix the issue. I was denied the privilege to speak with upper management and sent into the queue so long that it kicked me out. I called back 2 more times with the same result. I called back a 4th time and spoke with a different rep. He continues to tell me more of the same stuff. Not one rep was able to give me a time frame that I would have to wait for a service repair man because the truth is they dont have one in my area. He was unable to give me a number to upper management or connect me with someone higher up. He said when they send customers into the queue to be sent to the next level they keep being kicked back to them. So in other words LG does not back their products nor care about their customersThey believe it is acceptable for a product to last less than 3 years and a customer to be without a refrigerator for 2 weeks with no recourse. May I add this is during the quarantine, so I had more food in the fridge than normal and yes I lost a lot of food. But no worries for LG. They are not worried about the customer. Do NOT buy LG products. I have NEVER been so upset or dissatisfied with a product before. I am 44 years old and this is the first BAD product review I have written on any product.

I cannot wait to buy a new dishwasher. This LG inverter direct drive DOES NOT dry dishes, glasses, utensils, nothing really. Water is often left standing on the top of dishes and glasses. The smell coming from the dishwasher is something Ive been working hard to get rid of to no avail. Bleach, vinegar, you name it, doesnt fix it. As of lately, my dishes are not coming out clean either. I always rinse my dishes/utensils before placing them in the dishwasher. I actually questioned myself if I even ran the dishwasher because of how dirty they came out-and it did run! At this point, Id rather just hand wash my dishes to know they are actually clean and dont come out smelling terrible. The only plus to this dishwasher, is that it is quiet. Id take a louder dishwasher that actually does its job over this quiet one!

In July 2017 we bought an LG electric/convection double oven stove. Almost as soon as we installed the appliance our first incident with the stove happened. I barely brushed the stove knob and the burner turned on. My husband happened to have his hand on the burner and he felt the heat. That should have been our first warning. Jumped forward to December 27, 2017 @ 6:29 pm. Shortly after my husband had heated up his dinner in the microwave, which is above the stove, I smelled something like plastic burning. I said to my husband I bet you bumped a knob on the stove. He proceeded to the kitchen and when he opened up the door flames and smoke billowed into our living room. Between the two of us we contained the fire and help was on the way.My review regarding this stove cannot be put in stars because they don’t have a negative value. As far as cooking on the stove we had no issues. I loved the double oven. But from our first experience shortly after installation to the night our house caught fire, the knobs were a concern. We have grandchildren who use the microwave... I shudder with the thoughts of what could have happened to them. There were no push then turn knobs, which is a common safety on most stoves, Or the knobs could have been on the back of the stove like some stoves. Now we are facing a total remodel on the kitchen, new cabinets, multiple appliances... etc.Yes, we have insurance but that’s not the issue. This fire could have been prevented if the knobs had a safety feature. I feel for the individuals who have the gas stove. I understand their concern. Gas leak vs fire makes for a bad day. With as many reviews I have read regarding this particular problem, LG should have a recall on this model stoves. Look into rectifying the situation so this does not happen to someone else and turn their world upside down. So as far as LG products are concerned, I’m boycotting them. We even have several other household products but when the stop working, no more LG products in my house. LG needs to step up their quality control on the designs of their kitchen appliances. You should never live in fear of ACCIDENTALLY turning on an appliance.

The refrigerator worked fine for the first 2 1/2years. Since then we have had repair out 4 times in the last 4 months. The cooling system keeps going out. Condenser, fan, you name it. I have lost food 4 times. My husband has called the 1-800 number numerous times. They just keep sending out a repair person to no avail. Last time, after going through 2 supervisors, LG agreed to send us a $200 check for food and said to give the repair person one more chance to fix the problem and if it did not work LG would consider doing something more. The repair person came out and my fridge has been working for 4 days now. I await the next outage. I have no confidence that the problem is fixed and I am sure I will be calling them again. LG makes a lot of great products but refrigerators are not included and I will NEVER buy another one.

I purchased an LG gas range at our local Sears store thinking that it looked great in the photos. What a disappointment to spend over $1300 on this poorly engineered product! The control knobs cracked and became loose immediately. The customer service was a joke, just like the commercial on TV where the man (Peggy) from Siberia answers. Calls got dropped etc. New knobs with the same poor design cost $40.00 each! I did not replace them. I used glue and nylon ties to hold them on. The flames are all uneven and the metal covers are de-laminating. The knobs now are peeling from heat. I have decided not to buy any more LG products. It’s the only way to fight back obsolescence.

Lg top load model # WT1101CW - I have had this washer for 1 1/2 years. It takes all day to do a load of clothes. Every time you call for repair they just want to replace electronic board. That does nothing. Right now it is 6pm and I have been doing the same load of clothes since 7am. Constantly says uneven load, constantly refills and adds time when it says 13 minutes. I go back in about 15 minutes later it is filling up with water and now has more minutes. Just random amounts of time. Filling, draining, filling, draining, never spinning. It is so frustrating to try to get laundry done. There is a small 15 yr old Maytag in my basement that works better. Do not buy this washer. It is a top loader with no agitator. I Hate it!!!!!

I purchased an LG refrigerator from ABC Warehouse on 5/24/15. On 6/3/16 my refrigerator stopped keeping things cold and the blower fan stopped working. We purchased an extended warranty for this item and was referred to an appliance repair company that ABC dealt with. On 6/7/16 the company finally came out and they determined what parts they needed to order. It is 6/19/16 and my refrigerator is still not repaired. Its ridiculous that I spent over $3000 on this refrigerator just to have it stop operating one week after the manufactures warranty. To matters worst I purchased an LG washer and dryer 10/15/15 only to have the washer and dryer both need repair work done. I am currently waiting on parts for the washer and since the repair man was out the dryer is now making a noise and is need of service. I will never purchase an LG appliance again. When you spend thousand of dollars on an appliance you expect it to last longer than 6 months.

Indoor ice bin freezes every two weeks and I have to use a hair dryer, Ice pick and and a hammer to get the ice bin out to get a solid block of ice that has formed out so it can start dispensing ice....All LG consumer affairs tells you is just let it defrost....will never, ever, ever own a LG product. We contacted LG and the first repairmen they sent thought it was the slides that needed to be replaced and put in a order for that. This last one came and told us that wasnt the problem, and that the whole door and bracket assembly needed to be replaced. We asked for a new unit and they said no, we had to see if the replacement door and assembly worked. And it may take up to 5 weeks to get it them. This is a brand new unit. I have put up with this, clean clothes that stink, for 2 or 3 years now! I am a fanatic about fresh smelling clothes, and clean clothes. When my older kids were in school, they received compliments about how clean and fresh their clothes smelled. Now I take the clothes out of the dryer and throw them in the re wash pile. Not only do they smell dirty, they smell musty! I am throwing money away on energy to rewash, which is senseless since the musty smell is still there! I use Tide laundry detergent, I use liquid Downy, and I use two scented Bounce sheets, sometimes with the Bounce bar in the dryer, as well, to no avail! The only time there is no smell is when I wash with bleach. Obviously I cant wash all my clothes in bleach. The drum doesnt smell. I dont leave them sitting in the washer, but they come out of the dryer, which is also Lg, a lovely matching set. The drum doesnt smell either. How can I explain this smell? My new Adidas jogging pants, for example, for some reason, the crotch has this musty smell, and now, guess what, my underwear now have the smell? How embarrassing is that?! I used to complain about my old, used top loader washer and dream of a front loader washer and a matching dryer. Now I just wish I had my old set back. My dream turned into a nightmare! Theres not much Im fussy about, but my laundry I am, and Im sorry, Im pissed!

We purchased an LG LDF8072ST PREMIUM dishwasher from Best Buy on Dec. 12, 2012. Since it has been installed, the performance of this product has been terrible. The drying cycle is terrible and when I contacted LG, I was informed that this was the way it was supposed to work because it is a new advanced HYBRID drying system?? Even when we put it on extra dry, it still did not dry the dishes. With the performance still terrible, 4 weeks ago, the dishwasher quit working completely. When I contacted the LG online chat service feature, it was a joke. I spent more time verifying that I had bought a dishwasher than anything else. He finally determined that my dishwasher was Shot and he ordered a technician to come out. 10 tens later, a technician from a local repair facility came out, and he verified my dishwasher was not working??? He brought no replacement parts, but verified the unit had crapped out.Two weeks later, he returned with a main board and got the dishwasher running. He tested a few cycles and declared it ready to go. I was out of town and my wife was leaving that afternoon, so she loaded up the dishwasher and started it before she left. When I got home three days later and opened the dishwasher, the dishes were still wet????? This is the first dishwasher that I have owned that drying dishes as part of the cycle is part of the dishwasher!I have gone on LGs website and written to them and have not heard back! For what they charge for their products, I would expect a better support/service system in place. Dealing with LG is as bad as dealing with Sears in the past. If this is not resolved, I will do my research and make sure my replacement dishwasher dries dishes and is not an LG.

It doesn’t seem to matter if the load is big, medium or small in size. The result is still the same. The clothes do not seem to come out clean and the machine takes forever to finish a load. I spent a lot more than I had expected for this washing machine because of the great reviews that I read about it and have been highly dissatisfied since I purchased this piece of junk. I will never buy an LG washing machine ever again and I am writing this review to help others save their money to put towards their hard earned money towards a washing machine that’s well worth the big purchase. Clearly this one was a huge purchasing mistake. I HATE this machine!!!As if doing laundry wasn’t enough of a chore, babysitting this machine and CONSTANTLY readjusting the clothes is a busy woman’s nightmare!!! I’ve talked to many people and the consensus is the people love their washer if they purchased a Speed Queen. I’ll be looking into that type of washer soon. I would’ve thrown the LG washer out my second floor window by now if I could!!

Purchased LG washer, dryer, stove & refrig about 5 yrs ago. Very expensive, but was very happy when I got them. Dryer have replaced 2 - drums, last one has lasted 2 mos, paper thin drum, stove, unit went out that I rarely use and i.m. - rarely works. Never would I spend that kind of money for appliances that are worthless.

Cheap Plastic part. I have a three year old LFXS29766S LG Refrigerator. About 90 days ago we scheduled a service call with LG to replace the water and ice dispenser assembly ACQ85430259 which had cracks and other damage to the plastic. This was not warranty, we paid for the part and the service. About a week and a half ago we noticed that some of the plastic had crumbled away again for no reason we know of. We are an older couple with no children or teenagers that might be destructive. We called the infamous LG support number and at first were told that the part would be covered by the warranty on the part, not the warranty on the refrigerator. Since then we have been getting the run around. Phone calls and explanation in each call. Three days ago we got a customer service rep in Ohio and not Bangladesh. She said she understood and would expedite the situation and someone would call us. Never happened. I called again and got Bangladesh again and after painful explanation she said the part was out of the 90 day warranty by 5 days so we would have to pay for the replacement. I explained that I would never pay for anything from LG again. Instead I will post pictures of the problem all over the internet to make people aware of doing business with LG.

I recently purchases a Model # LSE4611ST slide in glass top range. I was very happy with it in the beginning. This past summer I was canning, the process was done, I laid a cloth on the unused side of the range and put my jars on it from the canner. I went out for 20 minutes, came in and found the front burner on and the cloth burned to the stove top. What I discovered was that when you leaned forward into the stove, the controls on the front of the stove are extremely flexible and it takes nothing at all to turn on the burner. I had a similar experience this afternoon and apparently touched a dial with my body and it turn it on while I was cleaning another section of the glass top. I almost set my hand on it and realized in time that the burner was on. I still like the range, just do NOT like that the control knobs are so easily manipulated. Thank goodness we dont have children in the house, it would be dangerous. My experience with LG has not led to a resolution. My issue that the knobs on the front of the range were very susceptible to touch and that it was easy to turn the burners on without being aware of it. I had a fire on my stove that burned thru a mat and damaged my burner. When the repairman came out he told me that was the way it was, there was no way to make the knobs more resistant to light touch. That this was the way it was. It makes bothers me that something so easy to fix to prevent accidents is deemed not viable by the company.

My LG refrigerator has failed for the 4th time in less than 4 years; 2 compressors and 2 evaporators. I paid $2,999 for the refrigerator from Sears. On August 21st my refrigerator failed and I called to schedule service. The agent on the phone asked me a few questions and confirmed that it was a sealed system issue. The next available service was Sept 5. I live in a large city so it should not be this difficult to get service. The next day I spoke to the local LG servicer. After I explained that the sealed system has failed 3 other times they told me they could not service the refrigerator since they did not do the prior work. They went on to say that it was LGs policy to replace a refrigerator on the 4th sealed system issue. On Aug 22, I finally I spoke to someone in LG Consumer Relations and was told that my refrigerator qualifies for a buy back. The last sealed system issue was less than a year ago and I could request a buy back. I was told It would take 3-4 days for the final dollar amount to be determined and another 4 weeks to receive a check. As requested I sent in my Proof of Purchase using the web link emailed to me. On Aug 24th I called LG service for an update and was told I had not sent my Proof of Purchase, I sent it a second time and verified that it was received. Again I was told 3-4 days to receive the final offer details. I called today, Aug 30th, and was transferred 4 times. I am now told that someone had not followed through on the case and it would be another 3-4 working days before a decision would be made. What recourse do I have?

I bought an LG front loading washer and dryer and have nothing but problems from the beginning with both. The washer will not use and flush the laundry detergent, hence the clothes smell as dirty as when I began. The dryer shows incorrect time, ie: 26 mins left but the time goes off in 4 mins, drying time takes a lot longer than my old one. Clearly disgusted with both.

Bought a top of the line LG washer. Washes regular loads of clothing well -- HOWEVER -- do NOT plan to wash sheets or mattress pads! No matter how I balanced the load, the machine cannot get through the spin cycle. This morning, I have taken some out (that didnt help) -- added the removed blanket back (that didnt work - no matter how I repositioned the items) -- put the first piece back and added additional sheets, hoping that would enable the machine to spin (nope - still wont spin!) I replaced my older Maytag front loader with this LG one and am SOOOO sorry we did! Please pay attention to the other reviewers advising against purchasing one of these LG washing machines! They are not exaggerating! This is a nightmare! LG serviceman could not help -- told me to only place items that fill the washer 2/3s full. Doing with this with bedding only makes the unbalance worse. Not sure what Im going to do with the wet mess I have in my laundry room at this point! YOUVE BEEN WARNED!

Doesnt clean clothes, doesnt fill with enough water, drains to empty when soaking clothes, has to be filled on bulky setting to cover clothes with water then changed to proper setting when clothes are covered with water, with bulky clothes they usually arent balanced properly after wash cycle and if you arent there to balance the machine it will refill, spin and refill endlessly until the machine thinks its balanced. Smart machine?...hah! I have wasted so much time and water on this piece of garbage. I wish I had my 1954 Frigidaire.

I’m writing about my disgusting experience with LG in regards to my washer WM4370HKA. I’ve had issues that started only within months of the purchase of this brand new washer. And the first technician that showed up was in DEC of last year, replaced parts and several weeks later the issue occurred once again. Repeatedly my washer doesn’t complete cycles and gets stuck with soaked laundry. It doesn’t clean properly and the clothes never come out smelling fresh. December, January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, I’ve had more than 3 technicians come to diagnose and attempts to fix the issue. They say they will be calling me back to replace parts but no one does. The issue is still ongoing and LG is denying me any service and has not agreed to my request for a replacement. I’m now ashamed to say that almost all my home appliances are LG because this type of service or lack of, shouldn’t happen. They don’t make you feel like a person, and they will do anything to deny you service. They don’t want to acknowledge that the machine is faulty. 1500 dollars and not even 6 months and it’s giving me hell.

Bought top load washer & dryer. Very first load ripped almost new $85 shirt and washcloth half. Called LG and they sent repair person out to view shirt and washcloth. Told to return it to HH Gregg and get a new washer, did so and contacted LG to pay for shirt. After sending tons of pictures, many calls, they refused to pay since I no longer had the original machine (go figure??? Their LG repair person said to return it). Often have to rewash clothes, not enough water, loud, major wrinkles, etc. Then a recall for the machine comes and schedule appointment with LG for repair person to handle recall. They come out, update software to the machine??? and then tell me not to wash anything in the machine that sheds water (waterproof? like mattress covers, etc.). Hmmm. Then he tells me my dryer doesnt dry because there are sensors in the dryer that get coated with dryer sheet film and it confuses the dryer. Oh and the replaced machine ripped another shirt, even though you have to button shirts, pants, and turn inside out!!!! LG washers/dryers dont wash and dry like regular washers and dryers we have all been used to in the past. The new save water costs more water and electricity by having to rewash and dry so many times. LG COULDNT CARE LESS EITHER AFTER YOU HAVE BOUGHT IT! We will never buy LG again and if you can hang onto your regular washer, do so. Its better for the environment and your state of mind.

The customer service was horrible and they damaged our woodwork and cabinets during install and tried to leave it - when it was repaired it was a botch job. However this review is about the dryer itself. Due to a sensor it constantly turns off and does not leave clothes dry, I have to restart it almost three times to get clothes dry. The water is pouring out of the bottom of machine. So back to repair person. He told me LG had by now paid more for repairs, than the machine is worth, so now LG finally agree to relapse my machine, but I had to drive 225km to pick it up myself. But died that, and now, only 1/1/2 years later this LG is also stuffed. So for me LG never again. Worst machine I ever had, and I am 76 years old, so have had a few machines. Shall go back to ASKO.

I purchased this from Sears. Its made by LG for Sears. Its a side-by-side since it was the only refrigerator that would fit within the dimensions of the opening of our cabinets. It was only a few months after purchasing that I found my kitchen floor flooded with water. The ice maker water feed line was installed by Sears. There was a defect in the refrigerator that caused the ice maker to freeze and blow water out of the water line from the back of the refrigerator causing flooding. I have a wood floor in the kitchen and the wood became warped and lifted both under and in front of the refrigerator. Sears came to repair and the repairman caused a short circuit in the electronics board and the whole refrigerator went dark. We had to wait for that part to be ordered. So we had no refrigerator for days and a wood floor that was destroyed. To make a long story short, the correct part was installed and the refrigerator in working condition again but it took weeks and a lot of documentation and correspondence between myself, Sears and the LG headquarters in order to determine who was at fault and who would be responsible for replacement of the floor. It was a very frustrating and maddening time. One other thing about the LG refrigerator, I noticed a few months ago that the paint on the handles is peeling off and soft. Theres a lot peeled already and a lot with long scratches from fingernails reaching for the handle. I dont know how to fix it to make it look less ugly and dont want to have to deal with either Sears or LG over this.

This microwave has a 10 year warranty on the inverter. I’ve had this microwave for less than two years and the inverter has stopped working. I contacted LG and was given three LG approved companies to contact for the warranty work. Each company told me the labor cost would be more than the microwave was worth. I contacted LG again and was told there was nothing they could do, and I should buy a new microwave at my own cost. I purchased this microwave because of the advertised warranty. I purchased an LG microwave for nearly $250.00 and its been replaced twice
I purchased an LG microwave for nearly $250.00 and its been replaced twice by Home Depot, making this the third unit to electrically fail with smoke coming from its internals after only a 45 second operating cycle. LG was contacted and initially stated that I would be responsible for taking the faulty unit to their authorized repair center in Chino Hills, Ca. - about 15 or 20 miles from my home - and pay for the repair.I informed them that I had taken the liberty of visiting this website and discovered that there appears to be some sort of electrical defect in their microwave considering the number of failures, the description of the failures and the short period of time between its purchase and the apparent electrical collapse of their product. In my experience, an item with a record this poor should be on some sort of safety recall list before it causes an injury or fire, but Ive not been advised of any such recall by either of the two customer service personnel I contacted during the course of our conversations on August 21, 2015.After being placed on hold for an eternity, and refusing to be blown off with what I can only describe as double speak, I informed the initial customer service person and the subsequent one that here in California there are regulations in place to protect consumers against abuses by big corporations with a bait and switch approach to consumer sales. According to this customer service contact, LG boasts their Magnetron has a 10 year warranty but to capitalize on this claim, the consumer must first pay for the labor involved which usually is a large portion of the initial cost of the unit!I have opened a claim or case # of ** with the assisting personnel who now report that there will be either a refund/credit or replacement within 6-8 weeks but they could not elaborate on which. In the interim, Im left without a microwave for the duration. If LG does the right thing, Ill report it, if not Ill provide that information as well.

I have been reading many of the disturbing complaints in this forum regarding the LG washer recall and can only add to the frustration expressed here. My parents purchased one of the models that has been recalled (WT5101HV Serial No. 007KWYP02018), about 18 months ago. The machine was acting up, and they just got the letter about 2 months ago. We called LG and scheduled to have a technician come out, and they did the software patch download. This was a joke! It did not fix the problem, instead it only perpetuated it. Now, instead of the wash load spinning rapidly out of balance.... it spins much more slowly and still out of balance! In addition, the wash and rinse cycles still do not work properly. The machine starts the normal wash cycle, and never drains any of the soapy water! Instead, it keeps adding more and more water (just like before). It only drains all of the dirty soapy water (very slowly) at the end of the Full wash/rinse/and softener cycle. And it never properly spins the wet clothes to remove excess dirty water. This process takes 3 times as long as before, and the clothes never come out totally clean. A simple load can take all day to complete! They are ready to Dump the unit in the ocean! Does anyone know if there is any kind of class action or formal legal group that is trying to get LG to make customers whole?

About 2 months ago, as the upgrading of the building had come to a completion, I spoke to LG and for 2 months, I have been lied to and deceived by the executives of this company - very ethical indeed. They want to give me a prorated $700.00 for me to buy another stove. Today, I find out, that the reason why they don’t want to come over to fix my stove, the reason is that this model LSB5682SW/01 was made in Canada and this model is now discontinued. In other words... (TOO BAD, TOO BAD… Revelation chapter 18) for me. That is while I was speaking to a representative. He assured me that the unit was “unrepairable”. I then asked him what F1 means. He said it meant “AN OVEN ISSUE”. Another Executive told my sister “that there is now a SAFETY issue” with the stove. What I mean is that they have conjured up for themselves a code of silence and mutated the truth. It is difficult when there is so much silence for so long - this makes it more unbearable. Now they want me to buy another LG stove. What they should do is refund me the money or fix the control panel - neither of these they want to oversee. Why are there not more videos uploaded to YouTube on this CURSED practice?? I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS WAS MADE IN CANADA.

Our Lg electric range knobs Model number LTE4815BD are on the front of the range and if you barely bump or brush by them they turn on. We’ve had pizza boxes burn, our wooden oven top cover and other items. My son is scared to death (he is a firefighter) and said this range is going to burn our house down. We literally can have nothing on top because if there is it will catch on fire with the slightest bump of the knob.

The control knobs turn to the on position very easily. Our unit has the controls on the front and would allow children, or someone leaning against the stove to turn the burners on. This stove control system is very, very dangerous!! We have already melted multiple plastic containers which had been sitting on the top of our stove when the burners were accidentally turned on. LG, please fix this problems before a house fire occurs and people die!!!

Originally, I purchased the front load LG but realized that I couldnt soak clothes. I gave it to someone in need and purchased the LG WaveForce top loading. Wish I would have read reviews before buying. I cant get through one load without the machine being UE. Water will fill the machine as it tries to self-correct - what a waste of water! I cant leave the house and more specifically, I cant leave the laundry room (Im typing from the laundry room). It takes a couple of hours to wash one load of clothes. Water is never hot.The sink right next to the washer has hot water but I can barely get lukewarm for washing sheets and towels. Soaking clothes - well once I set it on soak and as soon as the machine filled, I turned it off, thinking it would soak until I restarted the washer. Wrong! The water slowly drains out. Next machine will be a top loading inexpensive washer like i use to have. GIVE ME BACK A SIMPLE MACHINE THAT ACTUALLY WASHES WITH MORE THAN A GALLON OF WATER!

Ive had issues with the front loader getting off balanced and causing error messages. The website states to unplug and washer will reset, which seems to work. Now it seems to off balance with every load and I find Im resetting a few times each wash. Not only that, but now my clothes are getting a moldy smell and I am rewashing to get the odor out. Very disappointed in this expensive product. I was thinking of purchasing a refridge from this company, but will look at other brands instead.

Within a month of moving into a house that had brand new LG appliances the oven stopped heating properly. We called LG and paid a fixed rate for them to fix the problem. They replaced something in it and it wasnt even two weeks later when the same issue happened again. Shortly after that the LG dryer stopped producing heat. We had an independent repair person come out and $400 later he had replaced the heating element. Apparently LG appliances are very difficult to repair and time consuming to access. We will NEVER buy another LG product. Totally a waste of money!

About 4 years ago, my wife and I purchased a top load LG washer/dryer set from Lowes for~ $1400 after our MAYTAG washer died after 20 YEARS. They worked fine for about 2 years. After that time, the washer started to get the UE error more frequently, and started to growl and squeal. For weeks, I tried to get a service appointment from LG under warranty. None of the listed repair shops would touch this thing for less than $90 service call. In talking to the tech, evidently, this is a common issue with these products and costs around $450-$500 to repair. I considered fixing it myself, but the expense of the part(s) and special tools required made it not viable. As a mechanical engineer, there is no way this device should fail so quickly. We do maybe 6 loads of wash/week of normal clothes and towels. Bottom line, I will NEVER buy LG again!!! That includes phones and electronics. We just purchased and old school agitator machine from a domestic manufacturer. AND when in the market for a flat screen TV and phone, didnt even consider LG!

I purchased a brand new LG Range, Model #LDE3031ST that was delivered from Best Buy on February 8, 2014. I am only at this residence on Saturday and Sunday where the Range is, so it gets minimal use. On April 8, 2014, the bottom oven of the range stopped working. I contacted Best Buy who referred me to LG. I jumped through hoops with LG. They insisted I send them a receipt documenting that the unit was new and still under warranty. I did this the same day. No response. Two days later, I call again. I am given the number of the local repair company who is suppose to fix it. Fine, it was a Saturday so I was told by LG that I should hear from them on Monday. I did not. On Tuesday, I receive an email with a repair date of Tuesday. I call LG to find out what time and they tell me that it has been cancelled because the repairman said I wasnt available. I never received a call and I actually have someone sitting at the residence all day this day. I am told that they can come out Friday (today). Fine, I have someone sitting there waiting. I call LG this morning. They are closed for the holiday. I call the repairman. This is my third call to the repairman who has not returned my calls. He is rude and states that they have no repairs scheduled for today. That maybe Monday or Tuesday he will call me. Easter is Sunday. I have 20 people coming over that I have to feed cold cereal because the oven doesnt work.I am getting a run around for a lemon. I have been waiting 20 years for a new range that works. I am not happy with this one. LG does not stand behind their product. When I continually call, I am confronted each time with a, what seems to be the problem. Evidence they do not keep records. Do NOT buy from LG. Its the worst experience I have ever had with an appliance. I plan on opening a claim with the BBB and my local Attorney General.UPDATED ON 01/23/2015: I had written a previous review regarding the horrible service I received from LG. Since my original review, a service tech has come out to my home 4 more times to fix the same issue. LG refused to give me a new range. For the year I owned the range, 15 days was the waiting period I had to wait for the stove to be delivered. The first service call I did not have a working range for 6 weeks. The second service call, no range for 3 weeks. The third, no range for two weeks and the last service call, no range for 4 weeks. So out of the 12 month warranty, my range only worked less then 8 months. Buyer BEWARE. Every holiday last year was ruined because of this stupid range. Every holiday, I was without a range that worked and LG responded with, We are very busy with it being the holidays. The service tech, which was very nice and not working directly for LG but an independent that I made them send because the LG tech never showed up and never called. The tech told me that these stoves constantly have trouble because its a smart stove and the motherboard can break from a brown out or the simplest things. Run from LG.

Purchased our LG refrigerator in November of 2014. Compressor went out in July 2019. Two weeks before someone was able to come out to replace the compressor. The Technician shared with me he has replaced about 400 LG Linear Compressors in just the past 12 months. Told us it likely would happen again and to purchase a Whirlpool next. Was so disappointed after a quick google search on LG Linear Compressors to learn just how bad the problem is. Calling LG was useless. They offered no help and of course never mentioned this was a major problem. Never again will I own a LG product. Please do your homework before purchasing LG. We bought a LG TrueBalance washer/dryer set 4 years ago and have several issues with the washer. The first was when the motherboard went out in the middle of a cycle, locking clothes and standing water inside. After almost 3 weeks of waiting, the board was replaced and our stinky clothes were free. Now 2 years later every single load has issues spinning. It will spin for a minute or two and then flash UE. I rearrange and it does the same thing 2 minutes later. After a few weeks of this I shut it off and let the dryer do more of the work with a complete load of wet clothes. I strongly dont recommend this set to anyone unless do not have anything better to do but sit in the laundry room and watch the washer. Horrible set for the price!!!

I purchased a fridge from Home Depot on July 18th 2020, May 20th 2021 it started making noises and read an ERROR CODE, I called LG the first available day, I was sent thru the warranty service company and dealt with them scheduling a tech that didnt come prepared with the correct equipment to even work on the thing, then was told the wrong parts were ordered, waited on new parts and then the warranty company kept scheduling a tech that wasnt certified to work on the fridge so the system was cancelling the appointment. Finally on June 15th I spoke with a case manager at LG who assured me she was the one dealing with my case and would have it taken care of in 7-10 business days.On June 29th I received a text message asking for yet another picture of the product tag located inside. Which I immediately returned.. I lost over $500 dollars in food and was refunded $200 for that.. Now here we are July 9th. I called today to see what was going on, the rep would NOT give me her name, she called me a liar and hung up on me, when I called back to ask for a supervisor I was told there were NONE available and it would take 72 hours for one to get in contact with me. At this point I will be contacting a lawyer to see what the next steps are that can be taken, this has been the worst experience EVER. I have children and going almost 2 months without a fridge is UNCALLED FOR.. I would not recommend buying any LG PRODUCTS because the customer service and the warranty company they deal with are terrible!!!!

My husbands a mailman and he uses a lot of ice. We wanted a second ice maker and we wanted it in the bottom. LG was one of the only brands that carried that, so we purchased from them. We have the refrigerator for almost a year now and its been fine. But we had to have it serviced because the second ice maker was leaking water, the tubing hadnt been pushed in far enough. And when we told them about the issue, they did not handle the matter well because when the servicemen were supposed to be there, apparently, someone didnt get our entire address. So when they said they were gonna be there, they never showed up. When I called back, they had to put it a week and a half back further, even though it wasnt our fault that they didnt get the address. They said they called but nobody ever called us. It was an absolute fiasco and one of the worst service experiences Ive ever had. In the end, they sent a different guy to do the repair and when he came, it took him 15 minutes to assess the problem and fix it and we were back in business. Other than that, we have more than one appliance with LG and were very pleased with it.

We purchased and LG refrigerator and dishwasher about 2 years ago. Have had nothing but problems with the refrigerator, but it is working for now. The dishwasher will not clean the dishes. Because it is out of warranty, I called to get a service appointment set up only to be told that the price which I had been quoted by two of their representatives had gone up over $100 when I finally got to the department which could schedule the service. $100 in less than three minutes? I was told that it was due to sales tax. Total nonsense as nobody charges over 60% tax and we dont even pay tax on service calls in this state! After calling back, I managed to get the price back down to what was promised and secured an appointment for the next afternoon. The next morning I received an overnight-mail package. It was the pump for my dishwasher which had arrived before the technician could even look at the machine. Obviously LG has had this problem many times before if they know the problem before they can even look at the appliance! Why was there no recall of the defective part if the problem is that common? This company is to be avoided at all costs. They will lie to you and will do absolutely anything to avoid accepting responsibility for their worthless products! If there were a negative number of stars with which I could rate them, I would.

I have had a bosch ventless dryer for over 10 years. I know they can be finicky, and my Bosch definitely had its issues. When it came time to replace I thought I was going to be stepping up in terms of technology and quality with LG. The washer has been fine. The dryer started leaking on the second day I used it. The repair guy said it was leaking from the drum, rust had already started so he suggested I call and have LG bring a new unit. Second unit came and it started leaking immediately too. The leaking is about 1-2 cups of water that comes out of the bottom somewhere.A second issue is the dryer is constantly stopping on its own. Just about 10 minutes in the cycle it will stop and beep. To finish a whole cycle, the button has to be pushed about 4 times.I am in the process of having Home Depot switch this one out. Im tempted to just have them return it and take my money to Best Buy to buy a Bosch dryer, but then Ill have a mismatched set for the next ten years. Im so furious at this point because I did my homework and these dryers have been such a bust.

I chose to purchase an LG refrigerator over other brands because this brand had what I was looking for at the time. LG has met my expectations. I would still consider purchasing an LG brand, but I would consider getting a different style. The features that I like most about the refrigerator is that it has a built in freezer, as well as an ice dispenser and water dispenser. I like to be able to have my fridge produce ice rather than going to buy ice or having to make it with a tray. The features that I dislike about the refrigerator is that after a while, the freezer component becomes very noisy when you open it. Another feature that I dislike would be that the ice dispenser becomes very frozen and the ice gets stuck together and I have to break off the ice pieces individually.

I’ve owned this stove for approx 1 1/2 years and in this time my roommate and I have nearly burned the house down TWICE. The knobs are SO easy to accidentally bump and turn on. The first time I had a bag on top of the stove and luckily noticed before it started flaming, but my roommate started an actual full on fire last night with a basket of laundry. I’ve since taken the knobs off, but have read other reviews of people who have done the same, but that bumping the stems actually turns the burners on easier than if the knobs were in place???‍♀️ Ordered some child proofing so we’ll see how that works. No issues with cooking, but it’s NOT worth the risk!

Weve had this LG refrigerator for the best part of 5 years and it is still going strong. There is minor rusting at the bottom part but that is probably our fault. The freezer also started to form ice which we do not like one bit but we consider it a minor thing. It has not broken down so were kind of happy with that. The light indicator became an issue back then as it was not working as it should have, but we made a minor tweak in the wiring so that its back up running good again. I wouldnt say we are particularly careful with our appliances but this fridge has managed to make it through up to this day which is very much fine. It looks like we did not make a mistake in choosing an LG product. I expect it to last another decade or so, which is how it should be with stuff like this. If it does, I will write an update on this review ten years from now and will give a 5-star rating.

If I could give this washer 0 stars out of 5 I would. I bought the washer in January of 2018. I used it for about 2 weeks when it started banging and sounded like it was going to come through the floor. I called LG and they sent out a service tech to come look at it. The balance bar was broken and numerous other parts had to be replaced, and of course one was on back order. We finally got it fixed after almost 3 weeks of it being broken. Now we are in April of 2018. The washer starts to shake again & make the same noises as before, only this time I have leaking all over my floor. I call LG again to see what can be done. I talked to 3 different people, was on hold for almost 2 hours, the last person being a manager who was rude, and very unhelpful. I ended up scheduling another person to come out to diagnose the washer, of course a week and a half out. The technician comes to diagnose the washer on a Monday, I dont hear anything back from them and on Wednesday I get a text from LG saying I have a repair order for yet ANOTHER appliance repair company. I call to see what is going on and LG states that the first appliance company said the job was too big for them and their company is not able to do it (this was a company that LG hired). They hired another appliance company and again, they are more than a week out with scheduling. After talking again to LG they are not scheduled to come FIX it, but to diagnose it. This is after I talked to the first appliance repair company and having them tell me that the washer needs to be completely rebuilt and that the LG engineering department told them that there is over $500 worth of just parts. At the end of my phone call I asked to speak with someone higher up, and they stated someone would call me in 24 to 48 hours, and of course 24-48 hours later, no phone call. I am BEYOND frustrated with LG. I have been without a washer for longer than I have actually used mine. I would NEVER buy this washer again, let alone another appliance from LG. Their customer service is terrible and it has been a highly disappointing experience dealing with LG.

I contacted LG on 8/21/2020 and they confirmed the unit was under warranty and dispatched a local technician to come on 8/27/2020. I followed up weekly but the parts were on backorder. On 9/11/2020 I received a call stating they could return to fix the unit on 9/17/2020. On 9/17/2020 technician arrived and stated the issue was not the compressor but the tank which holds the coolant. He said he should have the part in 2-3 days. After 5 days of not hearing from them I spoke to LG headquarters who confirmed the local technician did not know the issue so they dispatched a different local technician to arrive on 9/25/2020. The technician did not arrive on 9/25/2020 so I called LG HQ again and they stated the technician cancelled the appointment but did not know why I was not made known of this. They stated corporate approved a defective return number for my home also known as a DNR number but I had to call 888-412-8357 to follow-up. I called that number and waited 2 hours but nobody ever came to the phone. I tried again today, and no luck. I would stay away from LG appliances in all as this has been a nightmare for my family.

I called up LG, and after about 10 minutes they had scheduled a repairman to fix the fridge in two days. LG overnighted the replacement part and paid for the repair. The fridge is now humming along and everyone is happy. Thank you LG for the excellent service!

Installed the refrigerator last August, now it is not working. We have to wait 4 days for a repairman. Luckily I still had my older refrigerator in the garage so that I would not have to throw out all of my food. I wont purchase a LG product again, especially after reading the other customer reviews.

We purchased this refrigerator from Home Depot in April of 2016. One year in, we started to hear a loud rattling sound. The repairman said it was build up of ice around the fan. Fan had to be replaced and fridge defrosted and told me to keep all the seals maintained with vaseline to keep it from happening again. Now, another year later, the unit has stopped cooling. All the food in the freezer had defrosted and fridge was warm. LGs website listed two service companies in our area. First one doesnt do fridges anymore. Second one had terrible reviews so I didnt call them. Had the same repairman come out that did the fan and he says the compressor has failed. This really needs to be a class action suit against LG... So many people have the same issues and we paid close to $4000 for this refrigerator.
