I thought I was getting a good deal on a 3 year old machine (WT5001CW)... But now realize why it was so cheap. It wont complete any load w/o you having to manually balance the load - possibly multiple times. If you dont babysit the machine it will try??! Every single load ends with uE. Small load, big load, socks only, towels only, jeans only - none will spin!! The only thing this does well is knot tying - all your kids jeans/Stretchy pant will end up in one giant knot! Lg seriously needs to release a fix or recall all of these machines as they dont do the only job they have. Im going to burn the ** out of this machine and post it to youtube!! Ill get a million hits. These things are so broken and hated!!! My wife used to like LG, we have LG phone, TV, stereo headphones - but Im not letting her buy another friggin thing that has LG on it since they refuse to acknowledge the absolute failure of their top load washers!!!

Model Number LDCS24223 stopped working after 4 months! This refrigerator worked well for 4 months. Then the top refrigerator portion stopped cooling. It took over 2 weeks for LG warranty repair service to determine we needed a new fan motor and a new compressor, then another 2 weeks for these parts to be installed. A month without a refrigerator was difficult. The repair person who came was courteous. He said this model is known to have this problem. If you buy this model, I recommend you buy the extended warranty.

Updated on 07/26/2019: If you look at all the negative reviews youll see that LG has not closed any of the complaints. They all are listed as resolution in process including mine. After my refrigerator died for the second year in a row I wrote my first review here but since LG wont respond I have to write another review in order to finalize my original review.Heres the latest on my refrigerator. The company that I purchased it from (ABT Glenview IL.) came out first thing in the morning and replaced the freezer fan and main circuit board. The unit worked for a while but during the evening the freezer was not cooling and the unit temperatures started to climb. I monitored the temperatures and called the service manager (Ryan) at ABT back and we ran through some things to see what was happening. I unplugged the unit and after a few minutes plugged it back in. The freezer fans kicked back on and the unit started to cool. A few hours later I checked it again and the freezer temperature started rising again. At this point I once again removed everything from the unit and put it in the loaner unit they gave me in.I called the next day and spoke with Ryan about what happened and he scheduled to have another service technician come out the next day to look at the unit. When the technician came out the first thing he said was the freezer fan was not running and had no explanation why. He unplugged the unit and they plugged it back in and the fan started to work but he could not say how long it would last. I spoke with Ryan later that evening and fortunately ABT is a reputable company and they offered to buy back my unit. We talked about all the costs involved and what could be done on the new unit pricing. The next day I went to ABT and purchased (at no cost) a new GE unit similar to the one I had and it was delivered yesterday 7-15-2019. They took back the LG unit and from what I was told it was sent to the scrap yard.I have to say that at least ABT stood up to their end but I can not say the same for LG. When I called LG about the unit I was told someone could be out here to look at it July 20th. While I was going through all this with ABT, I received a call from a woman (through a company the LG had gave my information to) who could barely speak English wanting to know if I wanted a service call. I cant tell you the name of the company because I couldnt understand what she was saying. I told her that the unit was being replaced and I would not need a service call.Hopefully I will have better luck with my new unit and can put this mess behind me. As for LG products I have to say I am extremely disappointed at how this turned out. This unit cost $1800.00 and should have lasted a long time not a few years! Here is the unit information for your records. LFXS24623S S/N 505MRZLMQ173 purchased 7-6-2015.Today 7-26-2019 I received a call from LG asking how the repair was working on my refrigerator. I told the person that the unit was in the scrap yard and was not being repaired. I dont think she really understood what I said and wanted to know if I was happy with the unit. I again told her that the LG piece of junk was in the garbage because it couldnt be repaired. She asked if I purchased a new LG unit and after I stopped laughing I told her I would never buy anything from LG again. She said she was sorry for all my trouble and if I needed any more help I could contact LG. I again told her that I will never buy another LG product and personally I feel all their appliance are junk. SO LG WHY HAVENT YOU REPLIED TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW. I sent you the message you requested on July 17 2019 but yet to hear back from you!!!!Original review: I have an LG LFXS24623S 24Cuft French door refrigerator that was purchased in July 2015 and this is now the second year in a row where it has died. Last year August 2018 the unit needed a complete seal system repair which took two visits to complete and now less than a year later July 2019 the unit is dead again and needs a new freezer fan and main circuit board.Luckily I purchased an extended warranty when I purchased the unit so this years repairs are covered but now Im going into year 5 and will have to purchase another warranty to cover what will inevitably be another repair next summer. This year I lost over $300.00 in meat and other frozen items but my warranty from the store will only cover $200.00 of it, so now Im out $100 plus the trouble of having to deal with the mess of melted ice cream in the freezer. Anyone thinking of purchasing an LG product should be made aware to find another brand to purchase! Read the reviews people their products do not last and they even know about it but still are producing garbage and selling it.

We bought our first LG refrigerator three years ago after studying online reviews (not customer reviews, quality reviews) that convinced us LG was making the best appliances available. Those reviews were dead wrong. Our refrigerator made very loud vibrating noise immediately. We had a service person come out within the first two weeks. He ordered a replacement part and came out again several weeks later to install. That “fix” failed. It became increasingly difficult to get LG to respond to our concerns. After a year of complaining pointlessly to LG we went back to the retailer whose immediately agreed to replace the refrigerator, to our pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of accepting a new LG refrigerator on the assumption that our first LG was merely an unaccountable lemon.Wrong. The second LG has been nearly as loud as the first albeit the noise did not start immediately. The vibration built up over time and is now every bit as loud as the first. In reading the customer reviews now, it is apparent that our experience is similar to many others. Poor quality components, extremely poor service, no follow-up. I will never buy another LG appliance and will likely replace this one before we experience some of the leaking and lack of cooling that others have experience. Very disappointed.

My 80 yr old parents bought an LG high end fridge 2 1/2yrs ago with an extended 5yr warranty. Nothing but problems. First was a seal (I believe) than it became very noisy, so noisy my father could hear it without his hearing aids! Now the entire fridge/freezer won’t cool! Compressor was replaced with no improvement. Now they are completely without a fridge for 3 weeks!!! They were offered a temp fridge, but there is no room for one. 80 years old and no fridge - unacceptable!!!! This fridge is obviously a lemon - they just want a new fridge and no one will help them. Very disappointed in LG and Best Buy!!!!

I had to call 3x and each time I was put on hold for at least 20 minutes while they looked up information. The info is easily found on their site. Needless to say, the site says, Hazard: An unbalanced load can cause the washing machine to shake excessively and the drum to come loose during use, posing a risk of injury to consumers and property damage to the surrounding area. LG is telling me to wait until I have a problem then call. All 3 agents told me the same thing. I thought the point of a recall is to prevent a known issue. Not with LG. I will never buy another LG product, not after the time Ive spent trying to prevent me or my family from being possibly hurt.

Noticed rust around dispenser drawer and filter door. There has been no misuse or spillage, this seems to be happening due to over sloshing as dispenser is emptying during wash cycle. Also we saw on other reviews where this is happening to other washer brands as well and I would agree with one service man’s opinion that cutting corners on paint seems to be the problem as the paint is extremely thin on this machine. This is clearly obvious as the area where the problem occurred had to be sanded in order to stop the rust from running down the face of the machine and spreading rust all over my floor. I paid a huge amount of money for this machine and the matching dryer and pedestals when we remodeled our home, I wanted high-end look for the resale of our home. We have sold our home and personally I will not buy a new set for the home we are building even though I loved the performance of the machines, too bad they ruined their wonderful products by cutting corners on a simple thing like paint. News flash LG, a cheapskate in your company is going to ruin your product’s name! Shame on you for charging a high quality price for a great machine only just to ruin it and anger the consumers by screwing them over paint.

We had our kitchen remodeled 5 years ago and none of the appliances (several different brands) have been stellar. However, I will never purchase another LG product again because of our LG refrigerator.Within months, the ice maker hose failed causing a leak every time we accessed the in-door water dispenser. When our wood floor started to bubble up, we then realized something was leaking. The hose was replaced but within a few months, another leak started. This has been a constant problem for the entire 5 years we have had it. We just discovered a new leak but this time it is coming from underneath and on the opposite side of the refrigerator so we are not certain if this has anything to do with the ice maker.LG and Home Depot, where we purchased it as well as an extended warranty plan, have been a huge disappointment and we will never purchase an appliance from either again. The extended warranty only covered major parts after the first 18-24 months, so it was of no help after this time frame. Also, the process of getting someone out here to repair it, was inferior. I had to call the main headquarters of Home Depot. They in turn would have to set up a repair order with one of their contracted LG repair companies.Home Depot would then contact me back and give me the number to call. I would then have to arrange a time for the repairman to come to the house which always took a week or more. Once they came, no matter how clear I was about the problem and where the leak was in the hose, etc., they would always have to order the part which would take several weeks. They would then call me once the part came in to set up a time to return to repair the refrigerator.Consequently we would be without our ice maker working for up to 8 weeks. I share this because even the LG repairmen are inferior or they are overworked. I would love an attorney to contact me since our hardwood floors have been ruined over the years due to the repeated leaking.

I bought an LG over the stove exhaust hood microwave in September 2009. Less than a year later, the door cracked along the frame. This hood was covered under warranty. Again, in 9 months, the second door did the same thing. I was referred to Warner Stellians headquarters customer service. Susan ** dealt with LG, who said too much time had lapsed since the original warranty expired. She then contacted their sales rep who came back with the same response. Therefore, Warners Stellian will do nothing about the door. I think the second door should have been under warranty because it was a new door. Otherwise, the microwave should be replaced. The plastic construction of the microwave door is defective; its failed twice, both times within 9 months of installation.

We recently purchased an LG gas range. We paid more and got the higher-end model. Like other people have reviewed is very dangerous. You bump into the knobs and the gas leaks out you dont know it happens unless you smell it or you hear the clicking. LG needs to do something about this Dangerous gas oven.I turn the oven on with my pocketbook. I reach up into the microwave. The oven turns on. Its crazy. If you have little children around its very dangerous and you have to remove the knobs. That looks great. Not when you have spent close to $1,500 on the oven. Yesterday I baked cookies with the grandchildren and the cookies in the front were not as cooked as the ones in the back. Thats another problem. I added a photo with three of the knobs off, doesnt that look like **.

DO NOT BUY LG!!! We purchased an LG French door refrigerator in early 2016. This was a $2500.00 model but we thought we were getting a quality product. The cooling system completely died in Dec. of 2018. Less than 2 years out of this refrigerator! We immediately called LG for service. 3 weeks later and 5 canceled service appointments later we have yet to see a repair technician or have any resolution to this matter. I have spent countless hours on the phone with both LG and their service company AE. Both have given me endless runaround and not been able to tell me why all of our appointments were canceled nor find a technician to service us. BUY ANYTHING BUT LG. HORRIBLE PRODUCT. We purchased an LG French door with freezer drawer in bottom. Have had problems with mold developing along the door gaskets as doors do not closed properly. Yesterday, there was an odor that smelled like burning plastic. It smelled like some electrical insulation was burning. The smell diminished, but this morning we discovered that the electrical cord was burning at the outlet. I called the service contract people and was told that the electric cord was not covered, that if they sent someone out it would cost $100.00+. Drove to the local HHGregg store where we purchased it originally and spoke with the manager, which was as helpful as talking to the service provider. In my opinion, both Gregg and the service provider are dishonest about their policy coverage. It appears that I am not alone with this problem.

LG said they could schedule a service in EIGHT DAYS, even though its 95 degrees, and we have a house full of kids who cant go to school due to COVID. I asked for something sooner and they kept me on hold for almost 2 hours with a pair of two-minute convos before HANGING UP ON ME. Bought a $2000.00 refrigerator in 2014, three repairmen came out to look at it and said it is a leak in the cabinet and cant be fixed. They said to call LG and tell them its a lemon. Its been almost 3 weeks and a lot of money for repairmen, loss of food, no fridge and still no satisfaction from LG. They keep pushing me around from one person to another. Even though these were authorized repairmen from them, they tell me to call someone else and I have to pay labor again. My repairmen said this happens a lot to LG fridges and LG knows it. This company is making inferior products, scamming consumers and making more money on repairs. If anyone has any ideas for my situation, please help me. LG never has called me once with so much as an apology. I want this FIXED! For any new consumers looking for an appliance...dont buy LG.

I purchased a LG Counter Measured Stainless Steel Refrigerator on August 2014 from Home Depot. Into 10 months of having this product (June 2015), I found a large amount of icing behind the produce draw and I could barely open the draw. Apparently the compressor was going and needed to be replaced. LG came out and promptly fixed the problem. They replaced the two boards - internally and externally at no cost to me.Then around early August 2015, I found several rust marks on the right and bottom drawers of the refrigerator. I promptly called LG especially since I had not owned the refrigerator an entire year. They asked me to upload pictures and the representative stated she would present this to senior management to see what they could do to remedy this. She called back the next day and said senior management felt that the damage was caused by me in some way. I told them that I had purchased a dishwasher and a range at the same time, clean them with the same stainless steel product, and the items did not have rust marks. They said that their decision was final.Surprisingly I received a call in late October 2015 from LG inquiring about the rust spots complaint on the fridge. I explained that there were actually additionally rust spots appearing every day and that I was very unhappy with this situation. He sent an LG service person to view the rust spots and take pictures as well. The service man called the warehouse to immediately order me the right and bottom freezer doors and to have them installed the following day. At this point, I am a little concerned that the new doors will have the same problem and if it happens again, will they cover the damage? I have purchased many products from LG and was generally very happy with the products and service.

LG model no. WT4870CW dropped off this morning brand new. After delivery, delivery guy set up and did the programmed test run. This checks if water is supplied, if it vibrates excessively or drains. All looked fine until I did a small load of laundry which came out unclean. Then on second try, I noticed tub basin filled up all the way to the top and agitator didnt work properly. I even made comment that it was so quiet...well when agitator is not doing its job, its super quiet. After trying different cycles and settings and after motor started to smell like it was burning rubber, I called home depot. The sales man gave me a lesson in how much detergent to put in, reasons why clothes arent getting clean, and told me to unplug it, wait 3 minutes, then try again. After explaining Im 30 and know how to do laundry, I explained again about water filling up in wash cycle and agitator not working. He said he would call LG and have a new one out to us IN A WEEK. After already waiting a week and half for first new washer, still blows my mind when a sales person does not apologize for the inconvenience or broken machine THEY sold.Im under no impression LG will stop making worthless machines for a ton of money, but listen up all the peeps in customer service, KINDNESS GOES A LONG WAY. SAY YOURE SORRY. DONT MAKE EXCUSES OR GET DEFENSIVE. Does the machine not working say something about you? Or is it your ego that needs to blame the customer by default? Some customers are rude but others are just like you trying to do their best to figure out a solution to the small and big obstacles they face. If you cant at least say sorry or be respectful...think about finding another job that fits you better. LG fail and Home Depot fail. Pretty disappointed.

I’m very disappointed in my LG refrigerator. I only had it 3 years and it broke down twice. Both times we had no refrigerator for almost two weeks. The second time was a compressor which between the repair company and LG suppliers it did not make our Life Good. The new compressor is report-ably an improved version of the original compressor, which begs the question why the cheap one first and what other parts do LG appliances have that are inferior and unreliable. I will never buy an LG product again. I also had medicine that needed to be refrigerated and LG didn’t even care, I was so inconvenienced for almost 2 weeks I had to throw out food and again they didn’t care. Lee and Mary Lou.

I purchased the stackable washer and dryer 2/2014. Never again. I have had the technicians here because the dryer does not dry. I was told that the clothes are dry according to foreign standards, but In the US we want the clothes dry. At 61 years old I thought I heard it all but to my surprise that was the silliest ever. If I did not want to dry clothes then I would not have bought a dryer. The clothes take about 90 minutes to dry, not very energy efficient. Also, the machines are not made for 50 tall people. I use a step stool to start and empty the dryer. This machine was a very costly mistake. I asked Lowes to pro-rate the machines because I only had them since February but they said no. Updated on 03/11/2019: This is a follow up to my January 2019 post. I lowered my rating to one star since the dryer (DLEX5680) was repaired only to break again within 6 weeks. The dryer was serviced and our house dryer vent was cleaned as recommended before using the dryer. It worked wonderfully for 6 weeks and now have the same symptoms. There should be a recall on this dryer. Very frustrating.Original Review: I purchased the dryer in mid-2014. Worked well first 4 years... Broke with a common issue. The dryer stopped working without warning. It thinks its drying but the machine is not running or drum rotating. Evidently this is a common problem since the repair company knew the problem and the part to order without a visit. Its been 3 weeks so far dealing with the warranty company and now we have to wait for the part. I will follow up this review with the wait and repair time.

They will delay, they will put you through hell and still get you nowhere even if they sent you a filter for the dryer it still will not fit. They know its a problem. They are not really helping people because it would cost them way too much to redesign each dryer thats out there and there is no class action suit then Im aware of currently. If this website ConsumerAffairs.com is willing to step in and really help people they should see who sent this and passed my contact information which you have my permission to do so to those class action attorneys that will get something done about this. I have spent too much time getting nowhere with LG support. They dont even have the decency to follow up and actually help in a real way. Again anyone who has any connection with LG that thinks theyre going to make headway on this they could not afford the amount of expense to either recall or redesign those dryers that are out there that are ruining clothes everyday.

I never received any notification. LG is sending someone out tomorrow. Well see how this turns out. But dont think Ill buy LG products.

I purchased an LG front loading stackable washer (Model #WM3270CW) in April 2018. I contacted Lowes (place of purchase) in May 2018 due to washer banging and shaking when spinning. Service rep came and adjusted front right leg and said problem was due to being unbalanced and issue now fixed. Washer still having same issues. Contacted Lowes again and was advised to contact LG as they were unable to fix the problem. LG service rep came in August and advised would do nothing since I had not removed the attached stackable dryer. Shortly thereafter 2 boxes containing parts was received from LG with no explanation. LG now tells me to contact Lowes to fix the problem since I will not remove the dryer. Explained to them that I am 61 yr old female unable to remove the dryer which made no difference to customer service rep. Will NEVER purchase LG product again!

I purchased an LG just under 3 years ago. At the end of May 2014, the freezer stopped working. On June 2nd, I had an LG certified company come out to repair it. As it turned out the heating element at the bottom of the freezer melted the plastic back panel on the inside. THEREIN is where all the torment has ensued!!!! They would have to ORDER the panel and as of Today August 11th, 2014 even after contacting LG directly, I still DO NOT have a panel or a fridge that works. IT CONTINUES TO BE ON BACK ORDER and LG did not know if they could help me unless I purchased the fridge from an AUTHORIZED DEALER, who cares where I purchased the fridge? I paid for it, it is THEIR product. If Im willing to pay to get the 65.00 part who cares where I purchased the fridge? LG has been of NO help whatsoever!!!!!! I cant believe it truly matters where an item is purchased. IT is their product and they should care about taking care of the customer... Maybe because I work in retail and I believe in taking care of the customer. I expect the same treatment when I myself am the paying customer... Dont you agree?????

The is a hazard and this product should have been recalled as when I called they knew all about it. Ive been trying to work with LG Customer Support to get a service provider to fix it as they will not replace it. Its been about a month now. Very incapable Customer Support. I will never buy another LG product. And I will also tell everyone not to buy their products.

Brought a LG dryer DLEX3370W on 04/22/2017. Worked fine until 08/21/2017, called Lowes since I also purchased the extended warranty, Lowes stated that it was still under manufacture warranty and my troubles began. LG did not send a repair guy until 9/11/2017, he diagnosed as needed the heating element. He ordered the part, came back out on 09/18/2017, replaced the entire heating unit (assemble, thermo and element). The tech called service since it didnt work. At first they went through the diagnosis system still not working, he had to call different times. At one point they said it was my electricity not working correctly lol.The house is only 8 years old but he tested it no problem there. 4th call to them he tested the something in the back. It started to work so thinking it was resolved the tech put all back together again and left. Washed some clothes and here we are again DRYER NOT HEATING, called LG back and they are telling me the tech has to come out again. SMH. Called Lowes. They are putting it on them, and LG simply just do not care that their product is crap, they have poor customer service, so here I sit with a 700 dryer that does not work waiting for the tech to come back out. LG never again will I purchase one of your products.

Let me say first, I always like to give anybody a chance to resolve issues
Let me say first, I always like to give anybody a chance to resolve issues and I am really patient with giving multiple chances to do so! After four years of horrible service and a machine which is unusable with heavy laundry I finally had it, I feel everybody should know! This washer is unable to spin heavy loads! Washing half a load is impossible, it cannot balance a half load! If you fill the washer up with towels and bed linens it sometimes spins, but often it does not!! It will display in the screen that the load is unbalanced. THE ONLY THING I CAN DO IS TAKING THE TOTALLY WET LOAD OUT OF THE MACHINE, PUT A PART OF THE LOAD BACK IN THE MACHINE AND THEN IT CAN SPIN TWO OR THREE SMALL LOADS, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!The problem exists already from the beginning, its stupid from me that I have dealt with it for so long. I am just too busy! I started to take action after the warranty was expired. So LG was nice and extended the warranty. But before someone came to our house I had to listen to their UNBELIEVABLE ADVICE: I was only supposed to put 4 towels in the washer, I was supposed to put jeans on one side and t-shirts on the other in the same load??? And then a tech told me this machine was not made for heavy loads! On top of that I was told that I should only use the towel program for towels and other programs were not made for it! But I wanted to use the hygiene program that gives hot steam as well! Later I was told that this was all not true and that the machine should be able to do it all! They eventually decided that the drum was warped and that it needed to be replaced. So a tech came, but the poor man barely could do the work. He was sweating profusely had trouble to sit on his knees and it took him many hours. Then he noticed a screw was not working well from the new outer drum so he decided to put the new inner drum inside of the old outer drum. He convinced me the problem was solved, BUT THAT WAS NOT TRUE, THE PROBLEM WAS STILL THERE!!!!Now THE PROBLEM WAS EVEN WORSE, after the repair THE MACHINE DID NOT SPIN AND DID NOT DRAIN ANYMORE!! I was beyond myself! It took forever before the next tech came, a very nice man, but he said he had no time to fix it and that another tech would come instead. Weeks went by and a totally arrogant man showed up on the wrong day, when only my husband was home. He said he was going to fix it his way and it was up to him to decide what he was going to do. The fact that a manager of LG had decided to replace the full drum this time, he totally ignored!! He repaired a few things and decided it was now really fixed.Lots of email correspondence later with a manager from LG, to my utmost frustration the problem is still there!! Appointments were cancelled due to weather and scheduling problems and one tech just did not show up! I can hardly believe it but THE WASHER IS STILL NOT SPINNING WITH HEAVY LOADS AND EVEN WITH SMALLER LOADS IT BANGS AND IT MADE EVEN MY KIDS WONDER WHERE THE NOISE IS COMING FROM!! I am so frustrated and dont know what to do!! I approached another department to seek for real help but they came back to me with a few ridiculous statements, like changing my laundry detergent to he what I always have done even with the much better washer I had before from kitchenaid.I AM SEEKING FOR HELP, THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE WASHER $1199!! I have saved every e-mail correspondence I had with them. So I have proof that my story is true! I am so done with this machine and want to make sure that other people never have to go through the same issues I have! THEREFORE THIS WARNING: NEVER EVER BUY AN LG!!

I purchased a LG refrigerator Lfc25760st from Home Depot. Within 1st year the plastic parts inside were cracking and falling apart. It started with the wheels popping off the drawers like they were nothing. I called only to have them accuse me of being extremely rough with my new refrigerator. Then said I had to get someone out there to look at it. Guess what? I live 2 hours from the nearest service dept. So Id have to pay for that, mind you its still under warranty at that point. I call and find out Ill have to pay the 50.00 and 0.35 per mile of which LG will not reimburse me. So, I just skip it because at that point the drawers still side out without the elcheapo made wheels. Then everything else begins to crack and break. So I call again.Im so mad because they will not help me and its now 100% clear that its LGs fault this is happening. I have my old GE side by side that is 20 years old, been through teenagers, young kids and moving 3 times. Its still running and the insides are great. Not the LG!! My drawers all falling in! The rails have cracked and the drawers fronts are even cracking off. Never has there been such a completely uncaring company that is unwilling to rectify problems that are obviously their fault. Its time for a class action law suit. They went cheap on production for these refrigerators and we the consumer trusted this company to produce a quality appliance. I now walk away from everything LG and Im not the only one.So much for wanting a nice stainless french door refrigerator for my kitchen. I have contacted the company over 6 times and get nothing but run around. I even tried to get them to at least give me some type of discount on all the parts that are broken that should not be. It will be well over 400.00 to replace all the broken parts not including shipping. I have talked to other people that the exact same thing happened with them. LG also told them they have never heard of these problems before. Gave them the exact same run around. They replace their insides only to have them all break again. Im done. Its lawyer time.

We purchased our matching washer dryer combo from Sears as part of our remodel on our bathroom when our prior set died for the 10th time in 6 years. However had I known that $20-$70 repairs would amount to less than the headaches I would now be dealing with, I would have kept those workhorses any day of the week. Not only does our washer smell like everyone elses no matter what remedy we try, but it leaks, and leaks, and LEAKS! Weve had it serviced 3 times in the last 6 mos. trying to replace things that were wrong from the motor to hoses to outlets and now find out theres lawsuits because of these issues. Because of cutting corners and faulty mechanisms I have to do more laundry, which causes more leaks, which causes more laundry, crazy cyclic cycle. When are we the consumers going to say ENOUGH and when is anyone going to have our backs to compensate and make this right for us? Im tired of paying and paying and paying while these companies continue to manufacture GARBAGE!!! My washer still leaks after dumping thousands of dollars down the drain! Thanks LG!!! (SARCASTIC TONE, in case there was any doubt).

We have had the washer and dryer several years. Both units give the worse performance of any washer - dryer combo we have ever owned. The washer has three issues; one, it does not get the clothes clean; two, if you run a load with bleach you have to run an empty load to clean all of the bleach out; three, after every wash you must wipe the door ring out to prevent any odor. The dryer has two issues; one, it does not dry clothes well; two, More lint goes outside than the lint screen catches (we had representative over to look at it and he stated that this is just the way it is with the new dryers). The Customer support responses treat us like children when we get a response. Bottom line, we despise the units and do not recommend to any of our friends.

Our old washer keeps on breaking down, so we bought an inverter washing machine from LG for around 305USD. The features are awesome. It calculates how much water is needed based on the weight of clothes that you put in the tub. You can set what kind of wash you want it to do depending on the type of clothes you want to wash (heavy, furry, light, undies, etc). You just put your clothes, turn it on, press a few buttons and wait for it to finish.

LG WaveForce TrueBalance anti-vibration system Model #WT5101HV, Product Cod
LG WaveForce TrueBalance anti-vibration system Model #WT5101HV, Product Code #T1309ADFH6.ASSEEUS. Bought washer & matching dryer 11/27/2010 with 5 year extra warranty on both. Three years of hell! Large-capacity washer that simply WILL NOT BALANCE, but will instead of sounding a buzzer that it is OFF BALANCE, will just restart the countdown timer as it REFILLS with WATER and starts the rinse cycle... again and again and again. Found out the hard way one time 5 hours later that it was still restarting the rinse cycle because it could not balance itself, yet it had never once sounded with the buzzer. Yes, the buzzer can work on occasion, but the load has to be very off balance. When I first got it and the countdown timer reset and the rinse cycle started again, I mistook that it was just part of the machines normal operation, but there is nothing normal for the waste of water and the amount of time I spend standing in front of the washer trying to catch it before it resets AND the amount of time I spend rearranging the load to try and balance it in the tub to the machine balance sensors satisfaction... up to 30 minutes at a time moving heavy wet clothes around or removing them by hand to place one on this side and one on that side... endless aggravation. Even if I use the lowest spin and step it up to the highest spin, it will not balance. If you dont use the highest spin cycle (or step up from low to high) it takes nearly 2 hours to dry clothes on the 2nd highest spin cycle. The factory recall notice that I received was merely an insult to the problem because it does not address the ACTUAL issue -- which is that it will not balance. Instead, the recall wants to tell me not to wash raincoats or such nonsensical how to or not to use the machine properly. It will not balance with: ONLY pants or ONLY shirts or ONLY towels or ONLY pajamas. The bigger the load in this large-capacity washer, the bigger the balance problem. If I wash a tiny load like socks, it might actually finish the load all by itself once-in-a-while, but why have a LARGE-CAPACITY washer if it is useless? If you mix shirts and pants, be prepared to untangle the biggest wet knots you have ever seen! I stopped using the low-water features a long time ago when my clothes did not clean properly, so I now use the Bulky/Bedding setting, which fills the tub with water. When I used the low-water features, the balance problem was exactly the same. I always keep the door open when not in use, so it does not stink itself up and requires special tub cleaning. I have only had to clean it once. Since the normal way this company has responded to the myriad of consumer complaints is even more impossible than dealing with the product, I see no reason to play their game of endless service calls when NO SERVICEMAN CAN POSSIBLY REDESIGN A FLAWED APPLIANCE. I have not heard of any service call fixing this models problems. I bought a 5-year service policy with 2 years left. This machines design is a lemon, so where is the companys restitution to us consumers? I dont want the upgraded software because it takes away wash settings and spin RPMs that I bought in the first place. A recall that is stone-cold useless and removes some original wash (gentle) and spin (extra high) variations is their restitution, so consumer take heed.

Our refrigerator (model LFXC24726S) was bought at Best Buy Pacific Sales in 2/15. First there was a recall issue in the flat drawer and it kept freezing. It was fixed at no charge. Two weeks ago I went to get ice and all I got was water. My entire freezer was defrosted and the fridge part was getting increasingly warm. After calling the Geek Squad for repair and finding out that my extended warranty was applied to a Samsung fridge I had returned (did not fit properly in my kitchen) and never credited or transferred to the LG. So no warranty, even though it was not our fault. Now nearly 2 weeks later, I find out that the problem is a Freon leak and they cannot fix it. When the Geek Squad came to see about the reason for the failure of this very expensive fridge, he stated that he had 3 LGs have the same thing in the last few weeks. He noted that all the fridges were ALL approximately the same age (3 years or less). After going to corporate since I had gotten nowhere with anyone else at Best Buy, they are finally replacing it. Im hoping this wont happen again in the near future. Fridges are supposed to last more than 3 years.

My refrigerator has been repaired as of this date. After the May 15, 2020 service the freezer worked but not completely. It would not freeze ice cream and with a couple of weeks stopped working again. The follow up repair which was 06/23/20 appears to have finally resolved the issues with this freezer/refrigerator not cooling and freezing properly. I must say it has been a frustrating few years since the original incident in 2018 thru 2020. LG has resolved the issue finally and I hope this products keep functioning properly. Overall I am satisfied with the last repair done around June 2020. I have not had any problems with the refrigerator since. The repairman was very nice I must say and the 2nd time he was out appears to have fixed the problem.

I purchased the LG Smart Drum top-loading washing machine a few years ago. The clothes come out very wrinkled. I now put almost all my laundry in the dryer; it helps remove the severe wrinkling. I used to just hang clothes up after washing them. Now it takes more energy: my own, and the electricity. I just finished ironing a top which I have had for well over a decade, used to just remove it, nice and clean, from my beloved Kenmore front loader, and hang it up. This was the case with all my clothes. I purchased my machine at The Brick, had to leave the country for a few months, and when I returned it was too late to have the unit replaced. Cant really fault The Brick, but they should know these machines are not-so-great. I have read the other reviews on this site, and my experience is not as truly awful as many others. But I will stay well away from LG in the future, and do more homework before purchasing.

I was out of country for business when my wife tells me our 5 year old LG refrigerator stopped working. I had her call LG customer service department (India). They provided her with an authorized LG Service Center 50 miles from our house. The cost for the service center to make the service call to my home was $215 which included 1 hour of labor that would be applied to the service call and anything left over applied to the repair. It took the service center 1 week to make the service call. At 5 years my refrigerator has only a 7 year warranty on the compressor with no labor covered. The service call by the service center determined the compressor and motherboard were bad. The repairman only assessed the call for 15 minutes leaving 45 minutes toward repair. I was also told that I would have to get the parts from LG. Contacted LG for the parts and they said the service center would have to order the parts.I went back and forth for about a week between the service center and LG. Got an LG Case Number that was offered after about the 15th call to LG. I asked for a US based LG customer service rep and was told that does not exist. Today LG offered to send the Service Center a Part Authorization # so that they could order the parts. I am going on 3 weeks without a refrigerator functioning in my home. I was told the Part Authorization # will take at least 3 days. The service center says once they have the Part Authorization # it will take about a week to get the part. Then another week to come out for the service repair call. If you are thinking of purchasing an LG product you are out of your freakn mind.

Soon after we bought this model on 7/28/09, we had to replace the circuit board as a result of what the repairman said was a design flaw, whereby using the self-cleaning mode will burn the circuit boards out if you use them more than once a year. Now, our oven will not heat. The oven indicator says both elements are on, but they are only warm to the touch. Evaporator defrost cycle and drain hole freeze up: LG design flaw allows ice build-up, which in turn leads to fan damage or stoppage that stops cold air from reaching the upper section. If this condition is not corrected by unplugging the drain hole, the water that normally goes down into the catch pan to be evaporated away ends up dripping through the bottom freezer cooling vents and freezing to the bottom freezer floor. The only way to correct this is to remove the back plastic cover and expose the evaporator coil where the ice build-up must be melted and removed, along with defrosting the drain hole so that water is allowed to flow freely again. Attach a small copper wire to the heating line, which is just under the evaporator coil, and thread it down into the drain hole. This will help to keep the hole open by transferring some heat to the drain hole during the defrost cycle, thus melting any ice that has built up during the cooling cycle. There are some excellent YouTube instructions online on how to remove all the plastic parts without doing damage. Good luck.

After a few weeks, I contacted the tech to find out what we were going to do about getting this issue resolved. I was told that he was waiting for LG to give him a direction to go. I waited another week then called back only to get a voice message telling me to contact the manufacturer. I contacted LG customer service and was told that their notes stated that the issue was resolved!!! I told them that the issue was never resolved and they told me that there was nothing they could do until the local tech updated his notes. I placed another request for an update on the LG customer service site and received a return email stating that they would contact the local repair rep and get back to me. Ever since we purchased the machine (a birthday present that was supposed to make life easier) we have suffered from clothes that stink, even right out of the washer. We tried changing detergents. No good. We purchased cleaning solvents from the store and ran cleaning cycles, good for one wash. Then the stink is back. The company says to leave the door open and wipe the inside rubber gasket dry after each use. Leaving the door open is not really an option and it blocks the hallway. I read that there are multiple complaints concerning the rubber gasket and stink from LG, and their overall response is the same as what they told me. I am more than willing to group together and go after the company for these machines. What a hunk of junk.

Purchased an LG side by side refrigerator from Home Depot 3/2018 with a 5-yr protection plan. 7/2/2019 the ice dispenser wouldnt stop running after crushing ice. Couldnt get it to stop. Had to disconnect refrigerator while waiting for service. Called both LG & Home Depot to report the problem. LG claimed the repair service was scheduled for July 4th which I questioned because it is a Holiday. Called again next day 7/3 to be sure and was told it was scheduled for 7/4 between noon & 5:00pm waiting for ordered part. I asked about ordering a part if no one was out yet to see what the problem was. No one came. Repair company (very rude) said they werent scheduled until 7/11. Lost $600 in food plus cost of purchasing ice. LG will only reimburse $200. No resolution yet.

I purchased LG washer June 2015. After the first couple of washes the detergent dispenser would be filled with water some of the time. Now it happens after every wash. I have to pull out the dispenser every time to dump the water. I called customer service yesterday. I was told to try powder detergent. I was also told that it was normal for water to be in the dispenser. No. Its not normal as it didnt do it the first couple of washes.

I also had a front load LG dryer which stopped drying the clothes. I had a tech come out only at 5pm on a Friday to tell me my dryer vent needs cleaning! The dryer vent did not need cleaning... the tech just wanted to go home. The dryer actually went on fire and is now out at the curb where all LG appliances should be. I also had an LG French door fridge... that was also another POC that broke and went to the curb. I do NOT recommend LG products.

I own an LG LFC25760sb French Door refrigerator. Unknown to me the interior lights stayed on inside the refrigerator and actually cooked or partially cooked my ribeye steaks that were on the top shelf. It looks like there is a lawsuit against LG for this but my model number was not mentioned in the article I read. Perhaps LG should install an indicator light that will show if the interior lights are staying on. I have unscrewed the light bulbs but the interior of the refrigerator is dark w/o lights. We are looking at new refrigerators and hope to find one that is problem free.

Ours has the freezer on the bottom with a single door for the refrigerator on top. We love this layout as it is easy to see what is in both. The clear glass shelves also help in this. It is easily big enough for us and will hold the large amounts of food when we cook in advance. The door shelves are big enough to hold 2 liter bottles as well as many smaller bottles.

Bought a Lg Refrigerator model #LMXS30776S. Production date 4-2015. Linear compressor failed and neither section will cool. All food went bad and I’m disabled on a fixed income. This is the second time this has failed on this exact refrigerator. Customer should not be responsible for any charges including labor because it is a flaw in the design and LG knows this and continues to manufacture “linear” compressors that they know have issues and have several lawsuits for. My refrigerator should be fixed free of any charges as it is their design flaw. I can not afford labor charges to fix this overpriced paperweight or sealed cupboard because that’s all it is good for now. Didn’t last more than 5 years with an already replaced compressor. Shame on LG not taking responsibility for their design flaws and putting the stress and costs on customers.

Purchased a WM2801HLA Direct Drive front load washer & matching gas dry
Purchased a WM2801HLA Direct Drive front load washer & matching gas dryer (new) in April of 2010. In the 7 years of ownership, the LG Washer has had 2 drain pump failures, 1 circuit control board failure, and a Spider Arm assembly failure (due to preventable corrosion). The 1st drain pump failed under extended 5-year warranty, as did the circuit control board. Everything else has failed on my dime and my time. The failed spider arm also took out the Balance Assembly Ring by tilting the tub, thus making contact with a fixed component and rubbing a hole in the liquid filled assembly ring - which drained the ring, rendering it noisy as a tank & useless. Our machine started making some warning sounds in the spring of 2017... Which I thought were the bearings. Being as the seal & bearings are a regular fail point, I ordered seals and bearings and pulled the machine apart. Turns out it was the Spider Arm assembly which had corroded to the point that only 1 of the 3 arms was still intact holding the drum to the support assembly. The bearing seal and bearings were still fine (although replacing the seal when you are in there is a MINIMUM to prevent future bearing failure).Just for good measure, the 2nd circuit board is now also behaving in a similar manner as the 1st one did on its way out (you cannot power up the machine without unplugging it - wait 30 seconds - and plugging it back in). This circuit board problem comes and goes, but it is not uncommon for the LG brand (do a YouTube search for LG washers failing to power up). The Spider Arm failure was due solely to using an unpainted aluminum part (spider arm), bolting it to a dissimilar metal (stainless steel drum) and exposing it to both electrolyte (soapy water, baking soda) and acids (vinegar, bleach, cleansing tablets, etc). Shiny piece of crap is how I would describe this LG washing machine. In the 15 years since Front Loaders became fashion statements, I am not aware of a single Front Load manufacturer that has corrected this spider arm fail point (its a guaranteed certainty it will fail with any sort of regular use) by either painting it in enamel, making it out of stainless steel, or abandoning the stainless steel tub for an enamel coated one. Its clear to me that this is a purpose-driven engineered failure of the washing machine. I was able to fix the machine myself (and new bearings/seals for good measure... As youre already in there) but most people cannot. Even so, it was $400 with bearings, seals, balance ring, spider arm, and enamel paint for the new spider arm to prevent corrosion thereof. When the spider arm fails, it is generally the death knell for the machine. To hire someone to fix is usually in the neighborhood of $800 (and several days to get parts/fix). Thats right around the price point of a new washer... And therein lies the motivation to junk a 6 to 8-year-old washer. Compare that to my 1996 Maytag Dependable care top load washer and gas dryer. 13 years of ZERO problems, and probably still going strong at my former house (left as part of the house sale). These front loaders could last just as long by making the terminal failures less frequent. I.E. Eliminate the Spider arm corrosion. Use higher grade bearings. Use a higher grade bearing seal. I will accept the circuit board failure, as its easy to replace. Although, there should be no need for that either if the circuits are rated for automotive use (high vibration).Ditto the drain pump failure (its downright delicate looking) but its $50 and I can change it rather quickly. Unfortunately, given that all the manufacturers are using price as the lowest common denominator, its unlikely that any single manufacturer will step up their game. If manufacturers build a better machine, theyll have to raise the price as turnover falls.A couple of takeaways Ive learned: Dont stack your washer/dryer - It makes them a nightmare to service (and these new machines demand servicing). Front load washers are crap. I believe you can eliminate the spider arm by going back to a top loader. Become handy - You need to be able to diagnose, disassemble, & repair these crappy products yourself to extend the life thereof.

We purchased an LG refrigerator (model: Lfx28968ST) about a year ago so it is a new appliance. It stopped cooling so we called LG customer service to have a technician come out with no resolution. This problem has persisted since April 9, and we have had 3 technicians come to try to fix the problem...all have failed. To make matters worst, the first technician scratched our wood floors pulling the refrigerator out so now there is damage to our floors. LG promised us that after the third attempt, they would replace the entire refrigerator unit for us. However, I spoke to them again today and they are trying to send out another technician... this will be the fourth attempt to fix it! The most recent technician that came out even called LG himself and recommended a brand new appliance as he felt this one could not be fixed! I spoke to a manager today who was very rude and basically informed me that I needed to provide more receipts and information and that this would be a long drawn out process because we are now claiming damages for our floors. She did not even apologize for the fact that we have been without a working refrigerator since the beginning of April (today is May 15, 2014) and had a rude attitude!! Not to mention all of our food spoiled, and we have not been able to buy groceries during this time coupled with the fact that our hardwood floors are now substantially scratched/damaged, and LG has broken their promise of replacing the refrigerator as they are insisting to send out more technicians and order more parts...and to top if off rude, and unhelpful customer service/management. I am not one to complain and have been very understanding up to this point. I will never ever buy another LG product EVER AGAIN! I cant believe a company like this is still in business!

After 4 1/2 years, after buying 4 matching stainless steel appliances for the new home, my refrigerator started making loud noises, like an airplane landing. We knew it was a problem, but didnt have a real sense of urgency because the fridge was still cooling; figured wed attend to it when we had time. Then it began cooling inconsistently. Then it finally crapped out. We called customer service and they had us contact the approved list of repair companies. I took the day off, had the repairman look at the fridge (and I do mean LOOK AT it, as he didnt have the parts on hand), and was told it was the compressor that failed and the work would cost over $1000! The part was covered under our 5 yr warranty, but the work was about the cost of a new fridge and wasnt covered. So, the $200-300 part is covered but the $1000 work to install isnt? Gee, thanks, LG!After looking at what a new comparable one would cost, we couldnt find one and came to the disappointing decision to just go with the repair. The repairman was very nice and said this isnt the first hes seen and doubts itll be the last. So VERY disappointed in LG for making such a flimsy, unreliable product! I was a big fan of LG previously - having had a TV, Blu-ray disc player, etc. - and had NO problems, so I thought that competency would apply to all their products. Very wrong and very disappointed.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator 3 to 4 years ago with Model Number LFC21760ST and Serial Number **. Within 6 months time, the plastic shelves in the top refrigerator broke. The company replaced them with the same shelves after I called to complain. Within 6 more months or so, the same shelves broke again, then the long tray shelf cracked completely in two pieces. I did not call to complain as there was no point in asking for more junk replacement parts. This morning, when I opened the refrigerator, the light box had fallen and the contents of my refrigerator were hot from the two hanging light bulbs. I called the company service number above and was told this is a common problem and theyll come out to fix the light bulb box only, not all the broken flimsy plastic shelves. How can I warn consumers not to buy this product? It is just my husband and I who use this refrigerator, and it has not been abused. This was not an inexpensive product, yet it was constructed with junk materials. Please advise buyers to beware of this LG product line. Thank You,Jeanne

Machine sounded as if it was gearing up for take off. LG ran a smart diagnosis over the phone and said everything was normal. I then ran a spin cycle and had the service tech listen over the phone and he said No way was that sound normal. As we live farther than 20 miles from an authorized repair service, our case had to be evaluated for repair or replacement. They replaced it and it sounds much different and improved. With the new machine, the liquid HE soap is not totally dispensing leaving gummy residue in the tray. The manual is not very clear on how much to use for what size load. I was told to use 1 Tablespoon for medium and 2 Tablespoons for bulky loads and that a small amount of water remaining after the load finishes is normal and to wipe it out of the dispenser trays after each load. Definitely not user friendly.

On May 9, 2016, our five-year-old LG French Door Refrigerator had a failure on the Linear Compressor. Working with our maintenance agreement (American Homebuyers Protection Corp), LG agreed to send the Linear Compressor part (under warranty) to a contractor (Appliance Wizard) working with American Home Buyers who would then install the part under our maintenance agreement. To this date, June 2, 2016 - 24 days later, the part has not arrived. Numerous calls have been made by us, American Homebuyers Corp, and Appliance Wizard. LG Customer Service consistently refuses to answer questions regarding the parts arrival or to allow tracking. LG Customer Service flat out refuses to let us speak to a manager. After more than a week of living out of an ice cooler, we purchased a less expensive refrigerator (certainly NOT LG) in order to live life at home without eating out or living out of ice cooler.LG has shown they do not care about their customers. Allowing a customer to go nearly a month without facilitating possible repairs is negligent beyond words and fraudulent under a warranty. Refusal to allow the customer or others who are working with that customer to determine the status of the repair (in this case - has the part been ordered as stated and if so, where is the part?) indicated LG should not be in the business requiring customer service. To say we are frustrated is just a pebble thrown into a large lake. Where is our recourse? At this point, we are not confident we will ever receive this warranted part! Posting on Facebook - writing this review - we will NEVER buy another LG Product. LG is a disreputable company. Be Aware!

I was so frustrated with my LG Front load Dryer we purchased in 2016 as after about 1.5 years use, the dryer started DESTROYING our clothing. Clothing would catch off the edge of the lint filter ending up in a twisted knot, shredded. I checked online for other people with a similar problem and found someone else experienced what I had. I had my husband take a look and he found a collection of lint stopping the filter going in all the way. He added a cardboard extension to the long narrow vacuum cleaner attachment. My 4.5 yr old side by side LG stopped cooling sometime Sunday. I had purchased an extended warranty. (Customer service is not what it used to be.) Called the warranty company and left a message Sunday night. Waited all day Monday for a call back. Can you hear the crickets. Short story, didnt get anyone on the phone till Tuesday and was told an appt. was set for Wednesday morning. But I should call the service provider to confirm. Three phone calls and an email later I get a response. Tech arrived Wednesday afternoon. Then tells me, after checking my fridge that I need a new compressor. And that the reason he was late is because he just replaced a compressor on another LG fridge. I thought he might have one in his truck, but no. I would have to be ordered and another appt. would have to be made. I have owned 2 other brands in the past and only replaced them after 15 or more years and I have never had a compressor replaced. Now that the kids are long gone and we decide to buy more expensive appliances, we find that expensive is not synonymous with reliable. BTW LG dishwasher repaired twice in 5 years.Going back to the old yet faithful brands.

We purchased this fridge about 4 years ago. From the start it had a manufacturing defect on the water hose that supplies water for drinking. It would drip down the front of the fridge after you got water out of it. They came out and replaced the whole door, but would not replace the stainless steel lever that had gotten stained from their defect. Then it started to give us ice with what looked like dandruff, I have not been the 1st person to complain about this. All it needs is a new ice tray but have to buy the whole assembly. The door since day one has had moisture collecting on it, bad door seals I am suspecting. You close the left door and the right one pops open. This thing is a piece of garbage, and I got the same dont care attitude with their customer service as others have noted on here. We also have an above stove microwave, 2 went out right out of warranty, not even a month past. LG means life is good for them, cause by time you find out you bought a piece of crap it is too late. I also wish I could post a picture of what the ice tray looks like, it grew some yellow hard something or other on it. Very gross to say the least. It seems to me all they care about is making a sale, but not taking care of the customer after purchase. I will never ever ever ever buy LG again.

We have a 5 year old LG oven that began experiencing issues with the cooktop 1-2 months ago. The burners will work, but only rarely. They will turn on and heat for maybe 5 seconds and then turn off. Sometimes they will work for a few minutes, and then turn off. Never on long enough to cook a meal, or if you are in the middle of cooking it will power down to barely on and you are stuck. The front larger burners work way less than the rear burners, and the left burners are way more problematic than the right. There is a heat vent to release excess heat from the oven and glass cooktop located under the control panel on the left hand side that is frying the computer components in the control panel causing malfunction. This is a known design and engineering issue.I have tried calling LG, and they tell me there is nothing they can do. I tried communicating with them on Facebook and they tell me there is nothing they can do. There are many people documenting the same issue on places like Youtube and even here. Everyone one of them, right around the five year mark this starts happening to them. There are many replies from people saying LG did the right thing and fixed this for them. New computers. New control panels. The entire back replaced. Nothing for me. Super disappointed that our $900+ oven only lasted 5 years before its going to need a repair call and expense for me.We replaced our entire kitchen with Consumer Reports top-rated LG appliances five years ago. The dishwasher is already gone; too expensive to repair that compared to the cost of a new model. Still have microwave, and refrigerator. Oven is failing as mentioned. We also have two 65 LG TVs and an LG washer in our house. Doesnt matter how long we have been a customer, LG is making this difficult.

After using my hand me down washer that was 23 years old, we decided to purchase a brand new LG front loader. We purchased it at a Best Buy with the matching dryer in October 2011. Now February 2012, I had to have a service technician come out to repair the washer. When the washer tried to turn clockwise, it made a grinding sound not be able to spin. It did spin counterclockwise. Of course, the warranty ended three and a half months prior to this problem. The technician told me he reconnected the bolt on the inside and it should be good for a few days. He told me that he assumed that I washed large loads. Why wouldnt I wash large loads? That is why I bought a large capacity washer. Stupid assumption! Anyway, he told me it would cost $350 to replace and repair the part. As for it lasting a few more days, I put in a load of three pairs of socks and one t-shirt. It still grinds! So much for a few days. Also, Mr. technician, is three pairs of socks and one t-shirt a large load to you?

So I asked for a list of authorized service companies and had someone at our house the next day. It was determined that I needed a part and that I would have to defrost the entire fridge/freezer. One week later, the tech came back with a new redesigned panel, however our motor was still full of ice, so he installed the new back panel and said to let it sit unplugged for another 12 hours. We left it unplugged for a total of 60+ hours to make certain. We turned it on last night and after about two hours got an ER f error. We called LG and they told us to unplug and restart the refrig. We unplugged again and let it sit overnight. We started it up again this morning and after two hours, same error. I have to wait until Monday to even get in touch with anyone to make another appointment. That will mean 3 service calls & 3 days away from work. Its incredibly frustrating for a 7-month-old refrig.

I have a washing machine that is 3 years old that needed a repair covered under the 7-year warranty. Because I cannot find my receipt after 3 years, you will not honor the warranty, even though the serial number shows its not close to 7 years. Because its a premium product, a receipt is required. I spent $1,000 on a premium machine that LG will not honor warranty on due to a 10-cent piece of paper. This is not how you treat your customers who purchase premium products. And premium products should not break after 3 years.

My 2 year 10 month old LG 32 cubic foot fridge stopped cooling on Saturday.
My 2 year 10 month old LG 32 cubic foot fridge stopped cooling on Saturday. No codes on the display, the entire fridge just stopped cooling. Had service person out where I purchased it, part covered, labor is not. Then he said it will take about 10 days to get the part. Must be taking a slow boat from Korea? I have come to the conclusion that there is no quality in anything manufactured these days - they are built to break down within a couple of years. The fact you have to buy extended warranties on such high priced appliances is a sad statement about the manufacturing industry!

The refrigerator is nice looking and functional. It met our needs and there are no repair issues. Thats why were repeat customers with the brand. LGs quality, features, pricing, and reliability has made them our choice for kitchen and laundry appliances.

We purchased an LG washer and dryer set at Home Depot and within two weeks and only a few washes the washer leaks from the front. We had to pay an LG technical person $145 to come to our house and tell us it was because we have a dog and he said even a single dog hair in the door seal will make the front door leak. If you own a dog - this is a really terrible option for a washer. Apparently you need to clean the rubber seals and door after every wash and its virtually impossible to clean dog hair off of the rubber gasket in the front. Its still leaking and neither Home Depot or LG will take the product back. Too bad they cant at least pay for my water damaged floors. I can also add that the dryer is the noisiest I have ever owned. Also not recommending it. Maybe a Maytag from Sears next time?

My 22-month old LG refrigerator has experienced TOTAL failure - both refrigerator and freezer sections. That was 10 days ago. I have spent hours on the phone with customer service. I had purchased the 5-year extended warranty. No repairman has come. I waited two days for repairmen to come. None have come. I have not received an calls from technician or from LG customer service. I have made all calls and been on hold for hours over these past 10 days. Also, when I call 1-800-243-0000, I reached multiple service technicians that I could not understand. I am beyond frustrated and angry! To have NO refrigerator for 10 days is unacceptable! I would not recommend LG! Debbie ** Sarasota, FL

The most awesome refrigerator ever. I like the side by design. The look is very clean and attractive. It is great to have ice and not need to fill an ice tray. The slim style holds a lot of food like to get water from the door. This makes me thing to drink more water every time I pass by. The last several refrigerators ended with a wet mess on the food or frozen drinks. This fridge has done none of that. I like the organization of the food. There is ample room for all the items include milk in the door. We purchased the fridge because of the inner volume.

Had the fridge for 2 years and apparently the inverter linear compressor has gone out on it. It is sitting in our living room getting ready to dismantle and throw out. It is outside the warranty and we cant even get our hands on purchasing a compressor to fix it ourselves. Waste of money. Its too bad that LG has gone downhill because we previously had an LG fridge that is over 13 years old and is still working just fine in our garage. LG never again.

I purchased an LG kitchen suite from Costco because of the ratings and reputation of both companies. After less than 2 years we started having issues with the food not being cold. We ran all diagnostics and it said nothing was wrong. Now, a little over 3 years later, the freezer and fridge do not work. The repairman gave us a quote that was higher than the price of a new fridge, which I can’t afford. I just don’t understand how the compressor died so quickly. And according to the repairman, the unit will never be the same even after repairing this part. With all the issues with COVID-19, the loss of all the food is difficult since it’s hit or miss if I’ll be able to get the stuff I need for my family of 6. What am I supposed to do now?!?!

I purchased my range in 2009. Near the end of the warranty, my oven stopped working. I called to have it repaired and it was repaired under the warranty. February of 2013, the oven stopped working again! I bake a lot so was upset I had to get it repaired again. We live in a small town and it is hard to get repairs done. After phoning around, I found out that the range had a recall on it in 2012! Why were letters not sent out? It took three months to finally get it repaired. Yesterday, November 6th, the oven doesnt work again! I called the recall line and had to fax the bill of sale to them. As of now, I havent heard back. I told them I would just like to get a new range so I dont keep having problems with this range because I bake a lot. The person I talked with said I probably wouldnt get the full value for the range, if they dont repair it again. I cant go without an oven for another 3 months. After the third breakdown, they should just replace the stove.

LG DIRECT DRIVE 7 KG F1292QDP25 - I bought the washing machine in Dubai and shipped to India. It worked hardly 50 hrs and started malfunctioning. A service request was logged thru a Dealer in Kerala and the Mechanic attended the case promptly. He confirmed the Electronic Control Board was damaged and it was why the program were not running properly. I spoke to the local service manager and he confirmed that warranty could not be given for the machines purchased outside India. However, asked him to order the part but, he could not get “any response from LG for the last two months. As the machine stopped working I contacted the local Distributor in Dubai last week but, they also did not keep stock. For getting the Part from Korea they wanted me to pay Dh.650 which is almost half the cost of a new machine.

I guess that judging by the other microwave reviews, I shouldnt be surprised that my first-ever LG product wasnt any good. We purchased a new house in May, which included a new LG microwave that was purchased/installed in April when the kitchen was remodeled. Last week, the microwave just completely stopped working, and when I called LG, none of the troubleshooting solutions worked. Their response was that they needed a receipt to look at it and repair it. However, the previous owner did not have the receipt. I told them that I knew for a fact that it was purchased in April. Regardless of that, its manufactured date was May 2011, so shouldnt they be ashamed that their product only lasted 1.5 years from its manufactured date? Instead, I now have to contact the people we bought our house from and ask them to call the store they purchased the unit from and find the receipt - wasting everyones time. Products break, I get that. But its the fact that it broke within 1.5 years of its manufactured date and that customer service was awful. I will never buy an LG appliance again, and Ill pass the word along to my friends.

I purchased a $3,000 refrigerator from LG. It looks beautiful. From the first month, I have had nothing but problems. I was so glad I bought extended warranty. Unfortunately, the warranty is useless because even the replacements become problems within a few months. This company has extremely poor quality products and extremely poor customer service. I have had an ongoing issue with mold growing on the inside of a piece of plastic on the front of the shelves. The company, without even coming out, told me it was not their problem. The company repairman came out to repair the perpetually broken ice-maker and told me the black line was due to inferior quality Korean plastic. He said it would only come back so he couldnt replace it. Then came an odor which would not go away even though my fridge was immaculate. This odor then took over the ice and water and even with the replacement, the water and ice are unusable because of the taste. The mold has to be coming from within the plastic. I have broken this plastic front piece due to putting Clorox on it every few months. But it continues to grow back. This is a potential health risk. The company refuses to even replace the piece of plastic that had to be pried apart in order to put Clorox in the mold. This is not normal, especially since there is nothing in my fridge most of the time. Be very careful and check this company out before purchasing. I have spent so much time waiting for repairmen only to have them tell me that the problems are not under warranty or that it is something not repairable.
