I purchased a $3,000 refrigerator from LG. It looks beautiful. From the first month, I have had nothing but problems. I was so glad I bought extended warranty. Unfortunately, the warranty is useless because even the replacements become problems within a few months. This company has extremely poor quality products and extremely poor customer service. I have had an ongoing issue with mold growing on the inside of a piece of plastic on the front of the shelves. The company, without even coming out, told me it was not their problem. The company repairman came out to repair the perpetually broken ice-maker and told me the black line was due to inferior quality Korean plastic. He said it would only come back so he couldnt replace it. Then came an odor which would not go away even though my fridge was immaculate. This odor then took over the ice and water and even with the replacement, the water and ice are unusable because of the taste. The mold has to be coming from within the plastic. I have broken this plastic front piece due to putting Clorox on it every few months. But it continues to grow back. This is a potential health risk. The company refuses to even replace the piece of plastic that had to be pried apart in order to put Clorox in the mold. This is not normal, especially since there is nothing in my fridge most of the time. Be very careful and check this company out before purchasing. I have spent so much time waiting for repairmen only to have them tell me that the problems are not under warranty or that it is something not repairable.

We purchased an entire kitchen of LG appliances in July 2010. Double oven, dishwasher, cooktop and fridge all have needed repairs within the first year. The LF25976 fridge has multiple issues, but the most pervasive is the ice maker not working. I usually research major purchases thoroughly, but I let my wife choose. These are the most unreliable appliances on the market. I will never by LG again. I have made a point to inform as many of our relatives and friends of our experience as possible.

I have a front load LG washing machine that I have only had for 18 months. It started making a loud noise during the spin cycle a few months ago. We called service and they told us to stop using the machine immediately and they would send a service technician. The tech said we need a new tub assembly and it is NOT covered under warranty. It will cost $1100 to get fixed!!! Are you kidding ME??? I paid less than that for the washer 18 months ago! This is absolute BS. How can they NOT back their products after only 18 months. I am putting this POS out on the street and I will NEVER buy another LG product. LG products are garbage!

I am enjoying my LG washer. Have had little problems with it. Only concern is hat there are not any repair companies local that deal with LG. The one time I did have to call for a problem, it was obvious that the person was reading from a script. They could not offer any help or answer my questions. I ended up finding an answer to my problem online.

I was on the market for a new fridge but I didnt do so with a specific brand in mind. The LG I have now just so happened to be what I preferred when wholly considered, monetarily included. Along with a lot of others Im sure, my favorite part was of course the ice/water section built into the door. It made life that much more convenient, which is something we as a species crave seemingly primarily, convenience. The side by side design was weird to me at first, I mean compared to the traditional top and bottom design which has the homey feeling of childhood, that felt more like staying the night at a buddies. But over time Ive grown to love it overall.

Our oven range of its own volition heats up to maximum heat, will not shut off and has to be totally unplugged from electricity. This happened to me 6th Sept 2019. LG has a recall with full in home service for many units exhibiting this potential catastrophic fault. When contacted LG informed me my model was not on the recall list. Their concern and help consisted of advising me to have a recognized LG technician at a cost up to $240 check to find the problem and get it fixed. Check the recall. Judge for yourself if you now want to risk your home, property, life and physical injury buying a LG electric oven range.

Warning!!! Do not ever buy a LG True Balance Washing Machine unless you dont mind waiting 2 - 3 hours for a wash to finish. Unless you are doing a small load with exactly the same type of clothing in it expect your machine to go out of balance and either take forever to balance or stop and wait for you to balance it manually. I will NEVER buy from LG again. They have done nothing to correct the problem but come in and replace the motherboard which does nothing. The problem is in the concept - direct drive/self-balancing doesnt work. I have actually stood and watched as the wash went from almost done (3 minute mark) to starting another rinse/spin cycle. Extremely frustrating and costly in electricity and water consumption.

Tried to find one that was rated good in Consumer Affairs. I have had this pair for about 5 years. I looked at consumer feedback to find one that was rated well. They seem to do ok. I dont like the odor coming from the washer when you have the door closed too long, so I always leave it open when not in use. I look for capacity, energy efficiency, discounts, brand, quality. How fast they will come out and repair if it breaks down. I look for quality and price has to enter in on it. Most expensive is not always what I want. It may not have the features I want. I want and need large size that keeps working.

LG model LFX2597ST - Had 3 companies change out mother boards, ice makers, board in back of the refrigerator! Bought refrigerator in Sept 2014, a week later shelf and plastic cracked, and plastic dispenser of ice broke. Was fixed and two months later it broke again along with the ice maker slowing down in making ice. Its taken three months of constant calling, waiting parts, trying to fix and issues are getting worse. Talked to supervisor. She sent letter to main office and I just keep getting the run around. Almost a year and fridge still not fixed. I think they just dont care about the irritation of people spending hard earned money and should cover the warranty when its not even a year. I am so upset now that when I hear LG or see it, I feel I became a victim. It hurts and feel sad that a company who I used to like could do this! ALL I ASK IS WHAT NOW. I hate what the company is doing and who can help us consumers? My year is almost up! We even sent copy of receipt from Home Depot on Windward parkway in Alpharetta Ga. They never solved anything for us!

We had our washer for about 6 or 7 years. It did not clean clothes very well. About two month ago I started a load of laundry whenever our children went out to complete their outside chores (we live in the country). We still have 6 children at home, one is only 2 so he was in the house with me and our 17 year old. We heard a sound like a shotgun going off in the house. Our 17 year old and myself ran to see what it was, the washing machine literally blew up. Thankfully the children were out doing chores or someones could have been seriously injured or killed...our babies high chair was thrown across the room and nearly broke the window. LG has done nothing! I called them immediately after we cleaned up the mess and all the water. They said I wouldnt hear back from them in two days...never heard a word back from them. Will not be purchasing any LG products again!

I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND LG PRODUCTS TO ANYONE EVER AGAIN. Within 2 years of purchase the handle of our microwave broke right off from natural wear and tear. When it fell off it also bent the metal piece from the cover. Now we have to open our microwave from the bottom and risk cutting our fingers each time we do. Appliances today are not made like they were back in the 80s.

LG Frontloader Washing Machine WM4270H has a cycle that intermittently open
LG Frontloader Washing Machine WM4270H has a cycle that intermittently opens and closes the water valve that causes severe water hammer in the plumbing system. This is very bad for your plumbing and will cause damage. There is not a complete solution for this. Options to avoid the water hammer are: install a water hammer arrestor or use rubber hoses. Neither one of those options worked for me and LG was unable to find a solution. Do not buy the LG frontloader until they acknowledge and fix the problem with the water valve.

Back in January of 2015, the so called quiet Dishwasher started making a lot of noises and had to have the dishwasher serviced. Now, the LG dishwasher will not drain. We have cleaned out the filter and the drain and nothing works and now have to have it serviced yet again. Three times in six months on an $800 dishwasher? Will never purchase an LG dishwasher again.

PLEASE DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!! I dont even know where to begin. This is the second LG refrigerator I bought to replace the first one that could never be fixed properly. I splurged on a 3-door French Door with an ice maker and water in the door. It was purchased in 2009 and had problems right away. Within the first few months, the gaskets on the French doors ripped. I had a private company come out to fix them. When the company indicated to me that I might want to inform LG directly of my problem, I did. A lengthy, almost year-long process ensued. To this day, I have a 3-door French Door refrigerator that does not work properly. The ice maker flap in the door does not close, causing the ice to melt. It has permanently damaged my hardwood flooring. The gaskets have been replaced no less than three times and they still tear. LG customer service representatives, Garrett and Kuzi ** have told me that they will no longer pay to service the refrigerator and unless I pay for another service call, they will not pro-rate a new refrigerator. How sad and disappointing that I feel as though they lied to me and promised a pro-rate that they never followed through with. I truly hope this makes you think twice before buying an LG French door refrigerator. I have lost all confidence in this manufacturers ability to provide customer service. Their representatives can easily quote ridiculous policies that they must follow but they have absolutely no sense of a customers frustration over spending $2500 on a refrigerator that has NEVER worked properly.

Purchased and LG LFXS32726S a year and a half ago. 6 months after the warranty expiration (of course) it breaks down. Refrigerator stopped cooling but the freezer still works. If I paid for an extended service plan, ($500 or so per year) I could have a tech come out the next day. I called a local repair company who came out and said that the compressor had a small leak and that I should call LG since the part would still be under warranty. I contacted LG who then scheduled an appointment for 4 days later even though with a service plan I could of gotten service the next day. Service tech texted he was on his way, my daughter was home and did not hear him knocking. He never texted me to state he was outside. Just left. I texted him numerous times to see what his progress of arrival was and no response, I called various times and left messages and no response.I contacted LG customer service who said my ticket was still open (at 10:00 am, tech we found out had come over at 8:34 in the morning). Waited longer and then was told at noon that the call was cancelled because he could not reach me. Funny his first text came in just fine to let me know he was on his way and when I had not heard from him and contacted him numerous times there were only crickets to be heard. Called LG customer service and was given the runaround. First I was given a number to follow up with that was supposed to be where the LG tech was being dispatched from. Called the company, this was a one man show with no employees who did not have a work order sent to him for our repair. Waste of time and aggravation there. Then with 20+ minute wait times on additional calls to customer service to just be told, call this company and see if they can help, we have no appointments available this week to reschedule you and when I asked for a supervisor... 40 minutes later I finally got one. My daughter in the mean time Contacted LG on Twitter and was given phone numbers of repair companies to call. Great customer service right? Here we are a week later with no diagnosis still and now as I am reading many more people are having the same problems. Finally got the repairman to contact me after speaking to the supervisor which was promising and he apologized and stated it must of been a problem with his phone and that he would be there first thing before 8:00 am the next morning. I personally waited for him and called him when he was late. He returned the call after 9:00 am to state he had family problems but was on his way.He then shows up just to tell me that the fan was frozen and we needed to disconnect the refrigerator and let it defrost. Hmmm when I checked online someone had the same errors and mentioned that it was a refrigerator fan that needed to be replaced so I spoke to my husband and daughter who had by then made a secondary appointment with another LG tech because we were not sure this one was going to show up after yesterdays fiasco. Lo and behold we got a third opinion, they agree with our diagnosis and changed the fan and now it is working again. One week and $429.63 out of pocket later so far (btw found fan only cost $80.00 online but we did not know how to install) hopefully this fan will last another year and a half so we can get money to buy a new NON LG refrigerator to replace this one! NEVER again will we purchase an LG product. I really thought I was getting quality and value for my money and now we have learned to do even more research before buying pricey appliances like this in our future.

I have never experienced a more frustrating customer experience. Our proble
I have never experienced a more frustrating customer experience. Our problem started last summer when our $4,000 LG French Door refrigerator failed, and would not maintain temperature. Our refrigerator was a little more than four years old, and I called LG to arrange a warranty repair. I was told that I would be charged $129 for the service call by one agent, and two other agents told me that there was no charge. However, it was going to be SIX WEEKS before they could get a technician out. We had no other options, so we scheduled the repair. Based on troubleshooting, it was the well-known compressor issue.I dont remember all the details, but I somehow figured out that the call six weeks later was a DIAGNOSTIC call, and that the tech would have to look at our unit, order parts, and that those parts were on backorder, so it might be another month before we could get them scheduled for the repair. I fought like hell, but got them to preorder the parts and have them shipped to the tech before he came. Even then, there was some problem with getting the parts, and LG had to overnight them. The linear compressor was indeed the problem, and it was replaced.Within a month or so, the refrigerator started making a loud KNOCK or POP noise that sounds like a gunshot about every 20-30 minutes. Its loud enough that it wakes me up at night because our bedroom is next to the kitchen. I dreaded dealing with LG, but eventually called and told them this was unacceptable. I finally got hold of someone who would send the tech out again. On April 13th of 2020, the same tech who had installed the compressor came to check out the unit. He heard the noise and told me that according to LGs product manual, this is a normal noise. I can assure you it is NOT. Our refrigerator was quiet for the first four years we had it, then all of a sudden started making this horrible noise AFTER the compressor is replaced? He asked if I had the manual, and said I should read it... that LG claims that refrigerators can make noises. Not a GUNSHOT noise!I got a followup call from LG a week or so later from an actual person to see if the service call addressed my issue. I told them it did not, and that I was upset and angry and frustrated. The woman told me that she would have a member of LG management contact me about our issue. That call never happened, and I never heard from LG.I finally called LG again about a week ago, at the end of June 2020. I worked my way up the chain to someone in Executive Customer Relations, who was very nice. She arranged for a second opinion and a tech to come to our house. There was no mention of any cost, because it should be within the 90-day followup period to the last service call that did not address the problem. I got a text message that said Star Tech Appliance Services has accepted my service request, then I got a message on July 5th (yesterday) that said A technician will arrive on 07/07/20 between All Day to service your product. But this evening at 5:15 pm, the day before the appointment, I get a call from the technician asking for a $160 payment, but telling me that the repair may cost between $350 and $400!I tried using the chat function, but I have now been on hold with LG customer service phone support for 55 minutes and have yet to talk with an agent. I rescheduled the appointment to Friday, July 10th while I sort this out with LG, but I am exhausted by this problem. I have spent hours and hours and hours on the phone with LG, and Im tired of it.Stay away from LG refrigerators unless you like dealing with customer service that has its hands tied when it comes to actually fixing your refrigerator. The agents are truly nice, but LG has some major customer service issues. I read on an LG class action lawsuit page that refrigerators usually last on average about 13 years. LG refrigerators are failing around 3 years. I guess we got lucky that ours lasted 4. Thats not too bad, right? $1000 a year? It was a beautiful unit. We bought a very beautiful refrigerator. Too bad it hasnt performed. I just got off the phone with LG after an hour wait on hold. Ends up that executive customer service was closed for the day, and I have to call back tomorrow. Yay.

I purchased a supposedly very nice LG Refrigerator, but after 3 years the compressor failed. After two more years, the new compressor failed again. Now I know the these units have a faulty linear compressor design that make them fail like clockwork every 2/3 years. The worse part? LG does not make it any easier to fix the product. Unless they are LG certified contractors, they require a letter of authorization that only the owner of the unit can ask for, so they can order the parts. Furthermore, when we called LG with the problem, they sent out a repair person the next day with no way to fix it. This seems to be a common problem with these refrigerators and the techs have no replacement parts in stock. They said 7-10 business days without a refrigerator until the part comes in. The first person we contacted spoke with sure had a thick accent that it was impossible to understand, let alone reply to her questions. Speaking with her supervisor really allowed LG to shine. She had mastered the highest level of being patronizing that I have ever experienced. In essence, I was told how badly they felt about my predicament and flat out that it was my problem. Now it is theirs. I will try to discourage anyone who asks about purchasing any LG product.

After 4 years of no issues with our LG refrigerator, it died one day after we hosted our daughters bridal shower. Needless to say, we lost all the food. Called a repairman, came out and informed us it was the compressor and it was under warranty. He also warned us that LG has been having issues with the compressors. We called LG and they told us that their repair service (through A&E) couldnt come out until 2 weeks later. I waited ALL day and no one ever came. We received a call and email to call back the next day to reschedule. Naturally I assumed they would come asap. Well to my dismay, they couldnt come out until 2 WEEKS later. Are you kidding me!! We had been without a fridge all this time and they expect you to wait even longer and its their negligence! We were so frustrated and disgusted we just gave up and bought a new refrigerator, a Frigidaire, since it seems price doesnt guarantee it will last!

Its a terrible design flaw. Rust is on the hinges where no chlorine or detergent goes. I have pictures... Paint will not help. The entire under part of the area above the bin but connected to the place where you put detergent or bleach is completely rusted out and the metal is so bad. I can stick my finger through it. They sent me an email... that the rust in your washing machine bleach dispenser is a result of the detergent or other additives being spilled that have not been wiped clean. Chlorine bleach is corrosive and will erode the finish if not cleaned immediately. If any spills should happen make sure to wipe it up immediately and the area cleaned with warm water and a soft cloth. Touch-up paint maybe use to cover the area, if not service may be necessary. How could LG design a washing machine that uses bleach and detergent knowing full well that it might get on areas besides the stainless bin and get under this area and all around the entire top of the machine and rust out. That is what happened.

This LG manufacturer has to be the worst experience of customer service I have ever had in my life. I have been trying to contact customer service, the supervisor of LG and all they kept doing is lying to me and promised me a courtesy refrigerator bin and told me I would get a call from the supervisor. In 3 days they havent called. I called them back and told them what happened. They gave me confirmation numbers 3 times and kept me on hold for 40 minutes just to get through a supervisor, the customer service agent told me she will just email me a order # to my email. I checked my email and there is no email from LG. I called again and told me, We cannot send you the bin cause your warranty expired. There you go more lies from LG.Thats after they told me they had no problem sending me one courtesy bin to my home. Still nothing. They wasted my time on the phone and lying to me. Some of their product are cheap. They are plastic and break so easily and are very fragile. They treat their customers bad and they really dont care from the way their employees treat the consumers. From my experience do not buy from LG. They treat you horribly and they lie to their customers. They are people you wouldnt want to do service with and they need to improve their products. I am serious!!! Stay away from my horrible experience with LG!

Year 2 the door is rusting inside behind the glass, again not covered, told it was a maintenance problem, the door is getting wet!! Inside!! Also the knobs have melted again, If the oven is in use and I take the knobs off the temperature of the front panel is more than 200 degrees. If you bump the knobs they turn the gas on. Purchased a brand new microwave with the new black chrome, very expensive for a microwave. Unfortunately we had a kitchen remodel so we wanted everything to be brand new. We called the store and they said that they had to call LG because their store warranty was only 7 days (ridiculous). LG said they would replace the part if it has no power. However when the service technician told LG that it had no power, they decided to repair it??? We havent even had the microwave a month. The new parts cost almost more than the microwave itself. I think this company is a piece of **. I will never purchase LG products again.

Wednesday 25th of May my refrigerator stopped working. Both refrigerator and freezer part. I called the 800 number on owners manual that came with the refrigerator and was told I had to either pay over $200 or $399 for 1 year extra insurance because they could not find my registration card and could not tell me when I bought it. So I paid the $399 thinking someone would come out and look at the fridge. I was informed that no one could come until the following Wednesday because it was a holiday weekend. The repairman came on Tuesday and informed my husband that the freon system was not properly cleaned before installation causing the freon to leak or evaporate from the system, causing the entire coolant system to malfunction. According the repairman this was done during the assembly process. He had to order a part and would take a few days to get. We waited a week and had to call LG back to get the repairmans number and find out what was taking so long. We were informed that the part is on back order and will not be available until after the 15th of June. At no time did the repairman call and inform us of this development. I have two small children in my home and cannot keep fresh foods available for them. I will not recommend an LG appliance to anyone. The customer service sucks and the phone center could give a damn. They could not tell me when we purchased the refrigerator but when my husband called they told him it was purchased in December 2014. This will be 18+/- days without a refrigerator and the weather so far has been in the high 80s.

On June 28, 2020 I noticed my fridge was not keeping things cold. I called a refrigerator repair company and it turns out my compressor went bad. I have only had the fridge for 5 yrs and 3 months. I called LG customer service on June 29, 2020, and was told they would replace the part but wouldnt pay for the service. It is going to cost over $600 to have the compressor replaced. I did some additional research and it appears LG has a problem with defective compressors. In fact, there was a lawsuit filed against them for this very reason. I asked to speak to a manager about the repair cost and Vergie refused to transfer me to one. She also would not provide the name of the manager that said they would not cover the repair costs. Its not like I asked for a new fridge, I just want them to pay for a problem they know they have. This will be the last time I purchase a LG product!

I also have emailed LG a letter and let them know I wont be spending anymore of my hard earned money on their products. At least they dont make any life saving devices I hope. We purchased an open box LG washing machine from Best Buy; first they changed the delivery date without notice; fast forward five months, this washing machine flooded our brand new house THREE TIMES. LG sent a technician out one week later because they only have limited amount of service for this area; the technician couldnt find the problem and after the third visit, and us videotaping the washing machine during the wash to see where the water was coming from, the technician said it was fixed. Well, we requested him to stay and watch and finally, he see the problem that LG never heard of. After one month, LG finally decide to issue a request to Best Buy to issue a refund since the washing machine was under warranty. After I go to Best Buy, I am told that their store policy is not to issue a credit back to the credit card, but to issue a store credit. In other words, they force you to purchase something from their store rather than shop at a store that has a better return policy. Warning: Dont EVER purchase a major item from Best Buy.

I hate my LG washing machine... it smells and there is water that accumulates in the rubber gasket and black mold! I think the problem is the horizontal drum... The water does not drain properly. I never heard of buying a product to clean your wash machine... That pretty much saying there are issues! The dryer also sucks! It shuts off before clothes are dry... So if youre not home to restart.. They smell! The dryer also seems to take a long time to dry. Who would think that products would decline in quality... With all this technology we have today!!! For the past 40+ years, we have purchased all but 2 of all major appliances
For the past 40+ years, we have purchased all but 2 of all major appliances from Sears. The single-door Kenmore fridge with freezer on bottom was working well, but no ice and water in door. So, after using it for 5 years, we decided to purchase a new fridge with the missing extras. Sears had a great sale going in Oct. 2007, but single-doors werent available anymore. The LG LFX25950W was very attractive. Within 11 months, the icemaker needed replacing under warranty. It has since died again and were still using the icemaker in the old Kenmore. In 2010, I discovered that there was a recall on the energy star rating that had been posted 4 months after my purchase. I filled out the application on the LG website. Six months went by and a nagging voice in my head reminded me that I hadnt heard anything. I went back online and filled out the application again. This time I was acknowledged and was soon contacted by Allen & Sons. The fix was to replace the motherboard. LG was to send a check to make up for the additional cost of operation for the time we had owned the fridge, plus an annual check for the operation costs. The motherboard was fixed within 2 weeks and the annual check amounts to $3.95. I havent had the nightmare problems of other models, but this one is nowhere close to being of the quality I expected. From the beginning of the recall work, the panel has displayed error code Er IF, which indicated a problem with the freezer fan. When the motherboard was first replaced, the error code went away. When it came back, they came back and the serviceman called LC engineering and it was decided that another motherboard was needed. The funny thing is that if the fridge is unplugged and then plugged back in, the display panel works fine for about 30 seconds and then the error code returns. Luckily, the temps, drawers and lights are all fine, but we have to pay labor for the repairs, so far only $135. If youre in southern California, call Allen & Sons in Canoga Park. They are efficient and travel.

We purchased an LG fridge August 2015. June 18, 2018 our fridge was not cooling or making ice. Compressor and fans all seem to be running. I have called and emailed LG customer service every single day since today being July 8 2018. I have submitted proof or purchase from our Lowe’s Synchrony credit card I was able to obtain. Submitted email directly from Lowes along with sticker on back of fridge. LG states this is not appropriate documentation and they have provided me numbers for service repairmen. Since reading everyone else review I have decided to just take this piece of crap unit to the dump and buy a unit that doesn’t cost $1,300. Because I am not paying a service repairman $600 Labor plus another $400 for a part that seems like will quit again in 2 more years. Don’t buy LG anything as their company sucks and they do not stand behind their products even though they stated compressor has a 10 year warranty. If you have one take it to the trash now and save you stress level. Thanks to this crappy product I’ve lost $400 in groceries and my newborns breast milk supply.

We bought our LG front load model WM2487HRM in 2008 and about 6 months after, it started shaking so bad that our whole house would shake. My husband put some vibration pads under the feet and these seem to help for a long time. However, the mold and regular cleaning has been terrible. In the last year, we have been using only the low spin with only using light loads. This seems to elevate the washer moving a foot, however, it now moves about a foot with all three. The low spin, only putting in half load or less with the pads under the feet as well. There are other problems too. The washer will leak from the front. The washer will sometimes not get the soap into the drum. We have tried all of these options because the set cost $3,200.00, which is ridiculous considering our problems. It will cost $800.00 to $1,200.00 to fix and at this point, we will wait and buy another. But not the same brand.

We bought 27.6 cu ft french door refrigerator in June of 2013. LG should be disappointed at the quality of workmanship. The compressor on our unit just failed, and it will cost us hundreds of dollars to replace. The kicker is not the cost of the repair, or the poorly made unit we spent thousands of dollars on, it is the time we have been without a refrigerator, and all of the stuff we have to throw away and replace. LG set up a preferred vendor last Friday, it is now Tuesday, to come look at it. We are still without a refrigerator, and LG continues to tack on additional charges to fix their poorly made product that is under warranty. The inconvenience on a family of 4 with 2 small children heavily outweighs the damage to the pocket book.

My refrigerator is 4 months old. Recently we came home to a strong acetone smell in the house and noticed that appliance was not cooling. Called LG for warranty repair and they set up a service visit for 2 days later. I called the service company 3 times that day to confirm, left messages without hearing back. Missed one day of work. Called LG that same Friday and was told to a service company would come out the next Monday (3 more days with no fridge). They arrived Monday and determined that there was a Freon leak in one of the coils. They ordered parts. I then called LG and requested that they replace the 4-month old appliance and they refused. They said that the repair service would have to label the unit unrepairable. The parts then arrived on Wed. I called the service company and they came out in Thursday to complete the repair (3 days of missing work). After the repair in Friday, (9 days without fridge) the acetone smell continued for several hours. The freezer never really kicked in. I am now attempting to set up another service call. DO NOT BUY LG APPLIANCES!!!

This is the first step on my mission to educate my friends before anyone buys a new dishwasher. Do Not buy LG brand dishwasher. If you do, do yourself a favor and buy the extended warranty, you will need it. I started having an issue right after mine went out of warranty. I paid for one repair, about $150, and that didnt fix the problem. Then I had a different repair person come out, factory authorized mind you, and he replaced some parts. He was here 3 times for another $350 and the problem persisted. I didnt bother to call him back, just thought I could live with the noise that was coming out because the machine was cleaning my dishes just fine. However, last night the same error code that started the whole thing happened again. So today I called to speak to LG Consumer services. I once again got the runaround, with the technician telling me I had to perform something on the machine and see if it worked. I gave him hell and reminded him how much I spent on the high end dishwasher and how much I have spent in repairs already and I think its BS to expect the consumer to do anything to try and fix it. The first time I called, he had me running around looking for screwdrivers so I could level a dishwasher that didnt need leveling! So, I told him I wouldnt do what he wanted me to and I didnt expect to have to pay for yet another service call for this crappy machine. I wanted to speak to his supervisor. When she got on the phone, I went through the whole thing again and of course the parts that were replaced are now not under warranty, so the only thing they could do is suggest I call the repairman again and have him call them to assist in figuring out what the problem. Of course I would need to pay for all of this, since there is no warranty left. I told the supervisor that I dont think that I will. I will go and buy a different dishwasher of another brand before I put more good money after bad. I have already spent more than half in repairs on what I paid for the stupid thing in the first place.

The LG ice maker design is flawed (LG Refrigerator LFX25975ST103). I purchased the item new from Home Depot in 2010 and luckily with an extended service contract. Initially, the problem was the water dispenser. The dispensing button stuck and flooded the kitchen before I could get an LG representative on the phone. The ice maker would not function and was replaced after numerous service calls between September 2010 and January 2011. It has never functioned properly, always crushing most of the ice. This leads to a crushed ice dam that forms in the door. Eventually, one must clean out this mess. After being a slave to service calls in 2010, I decided to utilize my Home Depot extended warranty and attempt once more to have ice from this very expensive investment.A crack existed in the ice hopper and a very talented serviceman came to my home, analyzed the problem, and ordered a new ice hopper. The part arrived last week and since then, the same problem has existed. Now, I am unable to remove the ice hopper due to the ice dam in the door. This entire problem is due to the design. We keep the temperature in our home at just under seventy degrees year-round. When the left door is opened, the vents between the main refrigerator body and the door allow warmer air to enter the ice maker. The flap door that opens to allow ice to eject also allows warm air to enter due to the long length of the trap door opening, 5 seconds. This allows some melting of the ice that is trapped and crushed in the hopper to melt then re-freeze in the blades. Then the damming cycle begins once again.

I am on with LG now to cancel that shady company they set up appointment with. I was told maybe a week an LG tech could come on-site. Purchased LG Model LFXS29626B because of good reviews and it had features we desired like 2 ice makers. Worked fine for 3 years then stopped without any signs of problems. Research discovered common failures of the compressors in these LG refrigerators. Contacted LG by phone and using Smart Diagnosis was informed by the technician that the compressor had failed. My worse fear with no extended warranty. LG offered to repair my unit without cost to me. It was repaired the same day, in short time as the repairman came with required parts on hand. I applaud LG for owning this problem, but feel cautious wondering if the new compressor will fail after a short time period. We hope not because up to this point, it has served us well and we like the looks, and features. Previous refrigerator was a Kenmore, which lasted 16 years and cost one fourth of the LG.

I purchased an LG Washing machine with the pedestal back in April of 2010 for $1,309.95 from P.C. Richards. After 3-years and 4-months, my machine stopped spinning and had a loud squeaking noise. I paid about $400.00 in repairs at that time for a power cord and the computer control panel which completely burnt out. After the P.C. Richards Repair Man left, I washed exactly 2-loads of clothes before the washer stopped spinning and I had to call the Repair man back from P.C. Richards to find out what the problem was. Well after the 4th visit from P.C. Richards Repair Men, I was told that a Ball Barren was missing and it would be a very expensive job to do. With that being said, I went for a second opinion and was told that was indeed the problem which would cost me $500.00 to repair. You know when people purchase expensive appliances like washers and dryers from Manufacturers like LG, they expect the product to last at least 10 to 15 years. I am deeply disgusted and appalled. What can I do to seek punitive damages? I am a working mother of 3 and am at a hardship to make ends meet and cannot afford a new washer right now which I was told by the repairman I should purchase a new machine. To whom it may concern, I am very disappoint of your service for my refrigerator. My refrigerator is not cooling since 05/20/2019. The technician came out 5 times and fixed for 3 times. The last fixing was last for a week and it was not cooling on July 4 of 2019. I had 18 people in my home on that day and we had to trash a lot of food. There is another technician comes out tomorrow to take a look at my refrigerator, I have 2 young children who need food and milk. This is very frustrated for them because they keep asking when my refrigerator is fixed so they can have some food as before. When I talked to customer service she said that 3 times are the last chance if it does not work, they will replace or refund me money so I can have a new refrigerator. This is not true because LG still wants to come out and look at it again. The schedule is really taking so long (7 days or 10 days ahead). Another customer service told me that the policy is fixing from 1-2 weeks. However, it is almost 2 months for this. Therefore, this is also a problem and I dont know what is your policy. You can just keep doing this and do not care about the customer as for how long this has been going on. I can tell you that we will not buy any LG product in the future because of your service likes this. I have told my co-works, friends and my relatives regarding of your service.

Sitting here waiting on a call wondering if we will be waiting another two weeks to have it fixed.Thinking if this is going to become another lawsuit issue as they had with the first LG model? Water saving, that is a joke. Takes almost two hours to clean clothes adequately as you need extra rinse to get them rinsed properly. Then wrings them so tight you have to try too untangle them before you can put in dryer. Hope that by end of day something is resolved. Only good thing to say is the extended warranty people have been excellent trying to help, but dont think they are connected to LG.

This washer has many problems. The timer gets stuck. It will say it has 30 minutes until finished, but 20 minutes later, it still says it has 30 minutes to go. It does not get clothes clean. Clothes get tangled in a ball, then the machine gets unbalanced. But, worst of all, I have had many things ruined - they come out with what looks like bleach spots and I dont use bleach. I dont know what causes that problem. I wish I had never bought this machine.

It had a leaking Tromm front loader. This ruined my 180 sq. ft. of ash hardwood flooring costing approximately $2000.00. After the floor was replaced and a pan placed under the machine, I have noticed that it fills up about once a week. This leak is coming from the dispenser tray! I noticed water and soap residue on the inside of the front panel that had also caused the door hinge to start rusting. After closer inspection of the dispenser during operation, I can see water hitting the angled section of the tray and running over the side. LG said a repair tech would have to fix this, but without a newly designed part, it will just do the same thing again. This is not caused by too much soap as some might suggest because it does this with or without adding soap! The only solution I see is to buy another brand after spending over $1000.00 a year for a poorly designed product.

Something with the mechanical of my LG refrigerator wasnt cooling. And when the tech came he also found out that the freezer was almost about to not work. The temperature was still keeping it cool, but it wasnt working. Another problem I had was the submission. Some guy there did not know the rule and he was telling me that it was just the refrigerator, and if the freezer was still working, that it was not covered under the warranty. So, when I was talking to my warranty people, they said, No. Theyre supposed to cover it. But after back and forth for like two weeks I finally spoke to somebody that know what they were doing and then, they got the parts sent out. That contractor repaired it, and he left me his number in case I had any issues. But when I need ice, my refrigerator doesnt make enough ice for me. I was unhappy that it broke down. The front loading washer and dryer have a tendency to pull threads and tatter clothes. Have been unable to find any snags or loose parts in the machines, but it continues to tear up our clothes and linens. The machines are a year old and have just started doing this. May need to switch back to our old brands of machines. Went back to place of purchase and they shrugged their shoulders and said this is a recurring problem. Their suggestion was to call a tech and spend $250 for a service call.

Bought LG appliances for our new home a year ago; love the refrigerator & stove, but hate the dishwasher! I too, wish I had researched this website before purchasing. The dishwasher does get bad odors occasionally, & my husband checked the filter in it, but it was clean. I put a cup of vinegar in a wash cycle of dishes & it went away. The reason there was no food in the filter is because we thoroughly rinse, almost wash, the dishes before we run it 1-2 times a week! Very disappointed in the cleansing of the dishes! If a knife had mayo on it when put into the dishwasher, even a small amount, its still on there when it comes out! Doesnt clean coffee stains out of cups, either. I would never buy another LG Dishwasher or recommend it! It is very quiet, but I would trade the noise, for clean dishes! No other problems so far!

Both my son and I bought LG washers. Bearings out on mine and cost to repair was equal to buying new washer. He had the extended warranty. Called the help line. Someone just kept repeating with a foreign accent, Only the drum (stainless will be around forever) and the motor are covered. My model had mold and mildew problems from the beginning. Now we both have nice dryers and will have mismatched washers. Beware! Bearings are not covered and you will have a flood, no washer, mismatched appliances, ruined flooring. Of course our State is not in the class action against LG. Guess where we would like to stick the stainless drum!

Approx 13 months after purchasing this nice LG French Door Refrigerator, Model LFXS30726S, the door display panel had a strange looking black leakage appearing at the bottom. This continues to get worse. It was outside of Mfg warranty (of course), purchased from HHGregg. Took pictures, tried to work with HHGregg, LG, and the service contract company---all said this was a cosmetic issue. No harsh cleaners have been used, no misuse or abuse. Now a year later its even worse. LG customer service is horrible, no help whatsoever. Warranty company continues to say cosmetic. So after spending over $2000 for this refrigerator, its my problem. I will not buy an LG product ever again, and I tell everyone I know to stay away from them. This is why I am writing this review, so other consumers wont be caught in a similar situation.

We purchased an LG washer. I love the fact that without the middle paddle you can wash large items like king size spreads and comforters and all the clothes actually are treated more gently. I do not like buying new if the old is still working. Being able to get parts and having really good people who can and will work to keep the old model going. Regular repairs is a nightmare. Been there and done that, days without your appliance and you have to wash most days to keep the family in clean clothes and towels etc. Also low quality construction, which usually means noise pollution and the appliance walking all over the floor or pulling loose from the connections and the room being flooded. This LG washer that I bought was the same price as for the Maytag that I had purchased 20 years before. It is high quality construction, stays where it is supposed to when it spins. Large size drum that washes very small loads with much less soap and water, or very large items like winter coats, king size bedding, comforters, etc. One thing I do not like is that everything rinses in cold water no matter which setting you use, and I like to be able to decide what temperature I want for the wash cycle and the temperature I want for the rinse. But all in all, that is the only thing I do not like about these computer controlled washers.

I purchased a brand new LG linear compressor French Door with the glass sneak peek feature on July 23, 2021 from Best Buy for $3500! In early December – Just 5 months later – the refrigerator stopped cooling. It is now Jan 11, 2022 and I have had 5 LG technicians come to my home with 5 different possible causes from – You must have left your refrigerator open- to – Maybe YOU spilled something down into the ducts causing the compressor to die – to – The doors are not level, the front cross strip is not balanced, and the compressor was installed wrong and is now leaking Freon! STILL, they don’t return calls and just continue to send technicians every 7 days. They have ordered at least 5 parts and still – the fridge does not get below 46 degrees!!! The freezer frosts, the ice maker drips and I am fed up. I keep calling and making complaints – I think they are due for another class action lawsuit! LG means Losing Game! DO NOT BUY THEIR REFRIGERATORS. ONE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME HE HAS NEVER SEEN THEM REPLACE A FRIDGE IN HIS CAREER! A refund is a unicorn. LG, I’ll keep calling for my $3500 hunk of metal. I’ve had to buy backup deep freezers and form refrigerators to keep milk in the house! LG – stick to washers and terrible cell phones. I was last told that they cannot replace until I’ve had 4 repairs. I have now had 5! No calls back. I PURSUE ALL CALLS AND REPAIRS.

LG Waveforce Top Load Washer - I have not been happy with this product since day 1. After careful and close observation, I have come to the conclusion that this machine corrects for its inefficiencies by doubling and tripling some of the rinse and spin cycles, thereby making it MORE inefficient than the center-agitator style washing machine. I mean, really, it tells you a load will be 53 minutes and it ends up taking an hour and 53 minutes because of the extra cycles it runs itself thru just to balance and re-balance. When this thing dies (hurry, hurry) Im going back to the center-agitator style washer if theyre still on the market. So much for energy and water efficient washing machines. Geez, just clean my clothes without all this computer controlled inefficiency - paleeze.

I recently purchased over 10k in appliances from Home Depot and the Studio
I recently purchased over 10k in appliances from Home Depot and the Studio line of LG ranges is an engineering nightmare. As others have expressed on their reviews, this range (LG Studio 6.3) presents a very risky and dangerous fire hazard. We did a complete remodel on a new beach house and used all studio LG products, we do not even as yet occupy the house and have never cooked on the stove, nonetheless, mere bumping of the knobs will cause them to turn on unbeknownst to the passerby... Our new 150k custom kitchen would have been set alight if my husband had not smelled the smoke from another room. This has already happened 3 times in the month the range has been installed with no one actually occupying the residence! In disbelieve I did a google search and lo and behold this seems to be a common denominator for all LG range owners. I have contacted Home Depot and LG (Blah blah... We will send a tech. Lol.) however my brother who is a NASA engineer had a look and determined it is an engineering design flaw. It appears LG is closing this model out however if they had any credibility they will recall this immediately before there is serious injury or death... If there has not been already. I am speaking with a law firm next week about a possible class action suit and will post on this site with any information. If you are considering this product, you should do this with the utmost caution, it is a dangerous design.

I have done everything you are supposed to do plus more. I actually dry the whole tub and gasket after each wash and the smell is still horrible. I purchased a new LG High Efficiency top load washer, model WT1101CW, on August 12, 2013, for a total of $659.98. On January 19th 2014, 5 months after my purchase the water would not drain from my machine. I had to pull a full load of laundry out and squeeze each dripping piece of laundry in my laundry tub. I called LG and was told that I would have to use a local third party service company to provide warranty service. They put me in touch with a dispatch center to set up a service date of Saturday January 22nd. I remembered that I had purchased an extended service agreement from Best Buy when I purchased the washer, so I then called into Best Buy Geek Squad. They were able to get someone out on Monday January 24th which worked better for me due to my work schedule. Best Buy also assured me that they are authorized to provide warranty service so I decided to use the service from Best Buy.When the technician arrived he discovered that the pump on the machine was not operating at all. He called dispatch and ordered the part, we set up the service for the following Monday, February 3rd. He also told me that if the part did get to me sooner I should call and let dispatch know because it might then be possible to get someone to install the new pump sooner. As of Thursday evening I had not yet received the part. I called to check on the status but was told that the part is on back order and there is no indication of when it will arrive.I am entirely disgusted with this situation. There is absolutely no reason that a 5-month-old machine should malfunction. It is also a new LG model so one would think that parts should be readily available. Unless the pump on this model is defective across the board and that is why they do not have any in stock. Up to this point I have loved everything about this machine. Now I am entirely dissatisfied with the LG product. I have two weeks worth of laundry in a household of four people and there is no indication of when I will be able to do my laundry. I might also add that I live in the Chicago area and we have been having absolutely nasty weather, which is not at all conducive to loading up a car with 5 to 7 loads of laundry to tote back and forth through several feet of snow.I am however satisfied with the help that we have received from Best Buy. They have even offered to reimburse us for our cost to use a laundromat. The Best Buy policy will replace this machine with a new one if it takes 30 or more days to receive the part. While this is wonderful on the part of Best Buy agreement, it is completely unacceptable to me that I will have to be further inconvenienced by LG and have no idea as to how much longer this will take.

I own an LG dryer (Model: DLG5988W) just over five years now. This past summer, I noticed a noise and the felt along the rim inside the drum was coming out. I notified the service company and they ridiculously removed the felt--had to scrape glue from the unit. This took about three hours--the service person was outside in heat applying the new glue and the new felt to the drum. Keep in the mind that the entire unit needs to be taken apart to do this. When he was finished, he said that they could have ordered an entirely new drum and not have to remove and reapply the felt--but they chose to do it this way.Three months later, I noticed some markings on my clothing, sheets, blankets, and white clothing. The felt is coming out again and the noise has returned. We have contacted the service company who says that our warranty was just up about two months ago. They originally charged us approximately $300+ and now, they say that the drum needs to be replaced and it would cost about $600+.We want it replaced and the original cost be deducted, since the problem was a temporary fix. Now, they wont even return our calls. So I continue to put aside all the ruined clothing, blankets, etc. I will never ever give LG my business. I also own the frontload washer, which, by the way, smells all the time. I remember growing up and the washer and dryer lasted 15+ years. LG sucks!

Three weeks ago, I discovered my LG refrigerator was failing to keep foods cold and frozen. A repairman from Stover, Evey, and Jackson came, brought a loaner, and took the model to diagnose the problem in their local shop. It is not repairable because the capillary tube is blocked and no part can be ordered from the company to complete the repair, per Bob, technician. This model has a 7 year sealed system warranty.I have tried to contact LG via email, with little success. The phone customer service is very poor and time consuming. A supervisor gave me a bad email address after calling us at 6am (no apology). Does anyone have any suggestions to remedy this problem? I would like them to repair the unit or replace it, or at least refund a portion of our purchase price.

I have top load LG smart drum - worst washer ever. UE ERROR CODE unbalanced load. Takes all day to do 2 loads because machine has to be babysat - it continually fills with water to balance load. Also it does not clean clothes well. The technician said it does not clean clothes well because I have well water (it is filtered and very clean water) and said that this washer would not work unless I did very large loads. He said 5 towels at one time not enough. Also LG will not do anything about it unless it is deemed un-repairable. Their technicians are trained with a list of excuses not to deem un-repairable as you can see above. PSA: DO NOT buy an LG refrigerator. Both they, and the service company they contract with, A&E are absolutely horrible. Back story: I purchased an LG fridge 2.5 years ago to replace an aging one which was keeping food in the 56º range. The new fridge worked fine with the exception of the black satin stainless finish on it which had started peeling off. About a month ago I called to report that. They sent out a service tech who said it was a manufacturers defect and it was covered. They would replace the doors in approximately two weeks.About a week after that, the fridge quit working. I checked all the stuff a non technical person like myself knows to check: had the door been left open; was the air intake clogged. Nope and nope. I busted out the manual. They said to call LG if it was failing to cool so I got on the horn with their service. Shortly into the phone call, the customer service person says, touch the inside of the fridge, does it have any condensation on it? It did not. He told me it was the compressor and promptly scheduled a service call which was about a week out. So I threw out stuff which would perish soon, got freezer stuff to my friends and cleaned the fridge so that it would not get stanky sitting closed up without power. The tech shows up as scheduled, confirms it is the compressor and also the motherboard and orders parts. The parts arrive a few days later, they are the wrong parts. We are now a week and a half in. He blames it on LG (who knows if it was LG or A&E at this point) and says he is going to order the parts and they will be overnighted. Had this been the case they would have arrived on a Thursday, come the next Tuesday, there are still no parts, so we call again. Now the story is that they will be ordering the parts and they will be here tomorrow. LG ships the parts to the consumers home, and A&E will not schedule until the parts arrive so first you get to wait for the parts, then you get to wait for them to have availability in their schedule. The parts arrive, three days later they schedule the tech yet again. They call the day that the repair is to be scheduled and say that the tech called in that day and they will need to reschedule. At this point another friend gets on the horn and basically tells them, oh hell no! and they miraculously find someone from Cape Girardeau and send him up. The guy puts the parts in, says to leave the fridge for 24 hours before putting anything into it. This was yesterday. Wake up this morning and the fridge is yet again a balmy 65º.Call LG AGAIN .... and A&E is closed and wont be able to schedule anything until Monday. Which will then of course be another service call scheduled days out, another tech coming out saying, yes the fridge is not working, ordering additional parts, waiting for parts, waiting to schedule said parts to be told that the fridge cannot be repaired. The fridge is under manufacturers warranty. The failed compressor has a 10 year warranty. I have the extended 5 year store warranty. There are so many 1 ⭐️ reviews on the LG fridge and A&E with people who are having the exact same issues as I am with both companies on Consumer Affairs, this entire debacle is being repeated all over the place. We are now three weeks into this, the doors never did arrive, the fridge still doesnt work and we are waiting on service yet again. If I can save any of you the headache, I wanted to put this out there.

It mostly gets unbalanced at 34 minutes remaining and at 11 minutes remaining. Unless you use the bulky setting, you get next to NO water in the tub. And the very WORST PART is that it has RUINED countless shirts, pants, and shorts. It will put dark, short streaks (stains) ON YOUR CLOTHES THAT YOU CANNOT GET OUT. We have washed the Maxine-stained items up to six times using a wide variety of stain removers and NOTHING works. We wound up throwing items away after this machine stained them. Now we turn everything inside out. We hope to be moving soon and will GLADLY leave this machine behind. What a HORRIBLE appliance!!!

We purchased an top of the line all stainless steel LG Washer and Dryer from Home Depot in 2009 and from day 1 had nothing but trouble with both of them. The washer was constantly out of balance even though the washer had the true balance system, then the computer board went bad, then the door switch and drain pump quit. The dryer has never dried correctly, it always takes about double the normal time to thoroughly dry. It has cost me over $500.00 to keep them running for less than 5 years, LG should be in the junk business as they excel at it.
