I bought an “LG Microwave Smart Inverter Magnetron” at Lowe’s, the higher priced larger microwave. After a few short months it completely stopped working while I was using it to heat up food. Only use is frozen meals, or heat food / drink about once a day. The longest period of use is 8 minutes. I contacted LG and they asked for a receipt before they would refund. I sent the receipt via email as they requested. After 6 weeks, they called and said I would need to go buy another LG and THEN they would reimburse me after I sent them a proof of purchase. The problem with that is, I don’t want another LG because of the chance of breaking and going through all of this AGAIN! Also, what if I get stuck and I am then $600 down the drains. The customer service is in Hong Kong and I had a difficult time communicating. #NEVERLG!

I have a now ten-year old LMX25964 ST Refrigerator made by LG. It is a French door version with two pullout freezers underneath. It has worked flawlessly with one exception. The hinge wore out on the right side. Theres just a piece of Delrin plastic that rides on the hinge. I started seeing powder from the metal grinding for like two years before I realized what was going on. Maybe I put too much weight on that door. I now store the milk on the solid shelf off the door. It cost me about an hour looking at YouTube to figure out how to fix it and around $20 in parts. The fix process went surprisingly well. I had predicted a disaster. Door came off easily as did the old hinge. I draped a towel in front while the power was off to retain the cool. In the old days we used to put the old fridge out in the garage after the remodel where it cooled beer for 20 more years. Those days are gone. I have a LG washer dryer combo that was very high end at the time of purchase. They have performed perfectly for ten years now. My LG dishwasher went bad two months after the warranty ran out. I took it apart, took one look and put it back together. Whatever I did it must have reset the circuit board or something. Works fine now.

My husband and I purchased a range from Home Depot 2013 and I thought this was great and absolutely loved the stainless steel and blue inside oven. That was until problem after problem. Why purchase an extended warranty just to find out Home Depot does not have service people in the area to service their products. Why even sell the warranty if you cant fulfill the agreement. I am furious!!! Stuck with a range after a couple of years that burners will not work and oven temperature only reach 350 degrees. Then only to be offered a refund of half of what we paid!! Really!! I will never buy a LG product again!! I also question if I will make any major purchases as this from Home Depot again as well!!! LG consumers beware!!

I purchased a brand new LG refrigerator in 2016 from Home Depot. The compressor had to be replaced within a year, still didnt cool correctly. The evaporator coils were then replaced. Still doesnt cool. Now being told I need ANOTHER compressor and it is 3 years old. Also, black mold has developed in the gaskets of both freezer and refrigerator doors. Each time a service is needed, it takes 1-3 weeks without a refrigerator in Atlanta. READ THE OTHER REVIEWS- LG is selling an inferior product to consumers and something needs to be done.

I purchased my new LG washer and dryer in Sept. of 2016. Several months later we noticed the dryer not heating well. It would not even dry a load in 2 hours. I got use to hanging the clothes, and put towels outside to dry. I had to call LG service 3 different times over a 5 month period. They did everything to avoid sending a repairman over. All they would do was tell me to try something different each time. 1) dont use energy saver 2) lint in dryer 3) coil on back of dryer was too long. Last week I spent over 45 minutes on the phone demanding a repairman. FINALLY one came out. It was the heating element. It was not working. This type of service is unacceptable. This may be a great product. We were just unlucky to receive a defect. Customers are not to be treated as though we are idiots.

Bought a brand new LG Top Freezer Refrigerator in Nov 2012 at Home Depot. It was working well & ran quiet. It has pretty good style & is functional. However, a little after a year in early 2014 the refrigerator started to act up. It was getting very noisy, and I noticed some ice build up at the back of the freezer interior. I tried to troubleshoot the problem, and tried to adjust the setting to make it less cold, but it didnt work. The fridge was get so loud I had to unplug it once in a while. I was fed up with the noise & the ice buildup, & decided to remove all the foods & defrost the fridge for half a day. Once the ice melted away & I plugged the refrigerator back the noise disappeared. I thought that solved the problem... Was I wrong. The troubleshoot helped to eliminate the annoying loud noise for a week & the noisy starting to creep back. And I noticed the freezer and fridge temperature was not cold enough. I found ice cream in the freezer was soften. Weeks went by, I just continue to struggle with the fridge. I finally bought two thermometer to monitor the freezer & refrigerator temp. The freezer was in the 30s and the fridge was in the 40s to 50. I realized miracle would not happened by waiting & contacted LG.I contacted the local authorized repair service, and I spent $170 for the 2 hr diagnosis service. The tech told me the sealed system was leaking - that was why the freezer had ice buildup, & the fan built out due to the ice buildup. The back of the freezer was frozen solid with ice when the tech opened the panel. I contact LG about the results of the diagnosis and I insisted LG should cover the cost of the repair for the leak & the burned out fan. I had to went back and forth with LG and the repair service for more than a week to get them to agree that the repair should be covered by the warranty. And LG agreed to pay for the parts but not the labor. The repair service quote me $450 plus but could be more. At that time I was furious. I paid $800 something plus tax on this fridge, and they expected me to spend $600 to $700 to repair it. No way Jose!! It was painful to let go a good looking fridge that still look brand new, but I decided to cut the loss & went to Sears to get a Kenmore for less than $600 before tax. Interestingly at Sears, I saw a Kenmore model with the exact interior design of the LG fridge I bought... scary!! Customers, please watch out that you dont buy a Kenmore fridge that make by LG. I will have my Kenmore fridge deliver today. This time I bought a extended 5-year warranty just to be on the safe side.

In April 2015 I purchased an LG refrigerator model # LF S29766S from Bestbuy in Garden City, New York. On June 22, 2018 I noticed that everything in freezer was defrosted. Problem was reported to LG who referred me to Bestbuy who I had purchased 5 years warranty with. After waiting for nearly one week, serviceman assessed refrigerator and indicated that a new compressor was needed. After speaking to various people, I learned that there have been problems with LG refrigerators. If so many people are having problems, LG refrigerators should be banned.

Bought LG washer & dryer a little over 2 years ago at Lowes. The washer just failed. Hundreds of dollars for new electronics board / labor. I wrote polite complaint email to customer service. Got a prompt reply leading off with the phrase “Life is Good. Then, a poorly constructed email telling me off. Rude. No question about what failed, how it failures, where I bought it, how I could get it fixed, how often I used the washer (very little--btw). NADA! If you luck out your LG product will not fail! I purchased the LG Direct Drive washer model number WT1101CW a couple of years ago. It worked great the first six months. Now virtually every load you wash throws a U.E code meaning load is uneven while in the spin cycle. If you dont pull the load out and place it by weight around the tub it either shuts off until you do or fills back up with water over and over again. Rarely does it solve the problem itself. I would rather have a bottom of the line washer than this piece of junk. I dont understand how it received the Energy Star Rating when it waste gallons of water on every load not to mention the extra electricity. It makes you wonder if the Energy Star Rating means anything on products. Whoever is in charge of it obviously didnt do much testing on this unit. Companies like LG and Samsung make great electronics but when it comes to appliances not so much.

I bought my LG refrigerator in 2009. The door for the freezer jammed and the ball bearings fell out. None of the three doors shut well and often remain ajar unless you put your weight into it (small children cant close them). The icemaker does not shut off automatically when the ice tray is full. Now, two years later, the fridge literally stopped working on me and I’m feeding my two small children out of ice chests surrounding the kitchen floor. We bought a warranty (about to expire) and it takes 4 working days to repair as these are factory ordered parts not in inventory. The technician said any LG model (high or low-end) experience failures. You need 4 technician visits changing out parts to declare it a lemon. This is an expensive nuisance you can do without ($300 in lost food plus daily purchases of ice). Dont follow me!

Loved my French door refrigerator. Today, noticed freezer not too cold. Cleaned back of fridge, nothing changed. Went on website, said contact service. Put in zip code, gave me a service place 30 plus. Ike’s away. Called repair service under 5 miles away, only to be told I am the second customer TODAY with this fridge problem. “Very common problem with LG. They knew they had issues with the compressors.” Well, I am grateful my 2004 Kenmore fridge is still working fine, no repairs ever, because all my food is in there now. Told compressor will take a few days... Have an LG dishwasher have no issues. Guess what, no more LG appliances for me. If they knew there was a problem, step up and fix it. I think that’s all we would expect. Stand behind your product. Do the right thing. Fix the issue and pay for all expenses not just the compressor. Your fridge was not cheap!!!

We purchased the LG front loading washing machine four years ago. It does vibrate but not like a Bronco. It does smell sometimes but we bleach out the machine once a month or so. It does not clean our clothes very well. I have to soak my shirts and pants in a water/ammonia solution before putting them in the washer to get a start on cleaning them properly. I guess if we use high-powered stink detergent, we would not notice a not quite clean smell of freshly laundered clothes, but we dont want artificial stink on our clothes. When my mother sells her house, Im going to trade our inadequate machine for her 15-year old Maytag top loader with the suds saver. We would warn anyone about purchasing this washer. I had no idea that so many people had those amounts of problems with this product. Wish wed read here first. It figures that LG is a Republican supporter, lots of big stink to cover up even bigger stink.

I had purchased a Sears Kenmore Fridge model #795.74023.411 in August 2015. Sears had recently gone out of business here in Canada. This fridge had cost almost $3000.00 and was manufactured by LG. I had contacted LG who suggested a LG certified service person. Service person attended and I was told that the compressor was broken and that the cost to fix this fridge was $900.00. I had called LG several times and they keep telling me the same thing. We are not covering this part under warranty because this is the agreement we had with Sears. I had also tried escalating this within LG and each person I talk to theres no point of escalating it further because theyre going to tell you the same thing. I asked LG if its normal for a $3000 fridge to only last 2 1/2 years and they stated it must be defective. Yet LG manufactured this defective fridge and they keep using the demise of Sears as an excuse to not cover this. I feel that the customer service and policies at LG are pathetic. I have now been without a fridge for almost 6 weeks as I cannot afford to pay $900 to fix this, nor do I feel I should have to. LGs customer service is pathetic and their products are garbage. Stay clear of LG.

I purchased an LG dishwasher in 2018 and loved the concept. A third rack on the top and a large silverware basket on the lower bottom rack with plenty of room for dishes. In late 2020 I started experiencing times that it would stop running in mid cycle and as time went on it became more and more frequent and more difficult to restart. I had a technician come to look at it which cost $96.00 and was told it was a circuit board problem which would cost over $400.00 to replace. I was informed this was very common in LG and once that was fixed it was also very common for some other problem to occur. He advised purchasing another dishwasher.

Purchased a matching LG washer and dryer (Front load washer model WM3670HVA) including pedestal bases for both from JCPenney in July of 2017. All was well until; Dec. 7 when we heard a loud banging noise coming from our laundry room. The washing machine drum was hitting the back and front of the washer so violently that I thought it would break the door. I immediately shut down the washer and rebalance the load. The same thing happened when I restarted the washer. Every time the machine went into the spin cycle the drum would hit the front and back of the machine with such force that we thought it would crack the door. The load in question was towels and wash cloths. After we removed the towels we tried it with a lighter load, tee shirts and underwear, same thing happened again on the spin cycle.I called LG and reported the problem that day. They stated they would have their service vendor call me. Never received a call. Four days later I call again and get the same answer. Still no call. Called JCPenney to report the problem and they tried calling LG with no luck. The appliance manager told me that LG service actually hung up on her. Today is 12/18 and I placed my third or fourth phone call to LG. Guess what, I get the same answer stay by the phone someone will call. I ask to speak to a supervisor and she repeats what each of the service reps said, Youll get a call from the center tomorrow. Twelve days and I have a broken down washing machine and still no call from LG warranty service. Never again will I buy an LG product if this is the way they handle their warranties. What are my options???Updated on 03/17/2018: Today is March 17, 2018 and LG warranty service still has not repaired the washer described below. My advice to any consumer thinking of buying a LG appliance is DONT. If you dont believe this review simply read all the other reviews that have been submitted and you will be educated to the fact that when needed, LG Service and their warranties may not be there for you. In my opinion they are the worse of the worst. I am 76 years old and the process of seeking warranty support from LG has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Yesterday I spoke to LG for about the 15th time and they outright lied to me again saying they finally had a repair service to look at the washer. I immediately call the repair service and they tell me that they did not accept the work order and LG does this to them all the time. Shame on LG when they wont help consumers get what they are entitled to. Tells you something about their product and their Corporate attitudes. Ill keep fighting with LG but future consumers should heed the warning BUYER BEWARE.

We bought an LG French door refrigerator in late 2017 and it worked without too many major issues, until October of 2020. In October, it suddenly stopped cooling. We called LG to have repairs made under the 3 year warranty. After many delays, they found a repair company in our area to come out to do the repair. They said it was the compressor, ordered a new one and replaced it. The refrigerator still doesnt work. We have been without a refrigerator now for over two months (for a four person household). I have called LG nearly every day, for the past 6 weeks. I have been elevated to the Executive Service response team. What a joke. I receive a different answer every time I call. After about a month of trying to find an authorized repair person to look at the refrigerator again, LG finally agreed to simply submit a claim for Alternate resolution; i.e. replacing the refrigerator. The claim has been submitted now at least 4 times; there is still no decision on whether or not they will honor our warranty. Every time I call (nearly every day now) I am provided with another excuse as to why there is no decision. This has been the worst consumer experience of my life.

The control knobs cracked and became loose immediately. The customer service was a joke, just like the commercial on TV where the man (Peggy) from Siberia answers. Calls got dropped etc. New knobs with the same poor design cost $40.00 each! I did not replace them. I used glue and nylon ties to hold them on. The flames are all uneven and the metal covers are de-laminating. The knobs now are peeling from heat. I have decided not to buy any more LG products. It’s the only way to fight back obsolescence.

This review of LG washers is more a review of LG customer service and a war
This review of LG washers is more a review of LG customer service and a warning to prospective customers. I have owned my LG washer for about three years now. It has True Balance, a feature that consumes water in an attempt to balance the load. The washer is absolutely level. However it rarely completes a load because True Balance is unable to get the load balanced enough to get through the spin cycle. So I have to turn the water off. Balance it by hand. Then maybe it will get through the cycle. Often the items are too soaked to put in the 30-year old Kenmore dryer. So I have to hang them.My water bill has increased 25% since getting the washer. Have complained to LG. Initially they told me to level the washer. Now they just ignore me. Apparently because I (a person who has tested at a mechanical level in the upper 2% of the population) am unable to level a washer. I was however able to rebuild the Kenmore Dryer twice to keep that running. Thats not a recommendation of Kenmore because Kenmore isnt Kenmore anymore.

We have an LG Refrigerator that sells currently at Home Depot 2016 for $3,500 that came with our home when we purchased it. We have owned many different name brand refrigerators during our 40 years of marriage and I can confidently state that LG Refrigerators are the worst weve ever owned. LG technicians cannot fix the constant sweating from the ice-maker that appears on the door and where the water and ice are dispensed. There is a known product defect in the ice maker that LG refuses to warranty so you need to purchase a replacement part with an LG Service Call for approximately $300 each time it blows out. Their 800# Tech Support is a joke since no understands or cares about your product difficulties. In short, nothing sucks like an LG. DONT BUY LG PRODUCTS!

Do not waste your time trying to get LG to help you. They have a lint filter that will not fit unless they redesigned your dryer. They will delay, they will put you through hell and still get you nowhere even if they sent you a filter for the dryer it still will not fit. They know its a problem. They are not really helping people because it would cost them way too much to redesign each dryer thats out there and there is no class action suit then Im aware of currently. If this website ConsumerAffairs.com is willing to step in and really help people they should see who sent this and passed my contact information which you have my permission to do so to those class action attorneys that will get something done about this. I have spent too much time getting nowhere with LG support. They dont even have the decency to follow up and actually help in a real way. I will continue to tell my story until something is done to repair my fridge!

I purchase an LG over the range microwave MEZ239996701 3 years ago from Home Depot. It was over $600 with installation. A year after installing it stopped heating. I called LG and was told it was no longer under warranty and they couldnt help me. I unplugged it and lo & behold it began heating again. This happened many times over the next few months and finally in May of this year it stopped working completely. What a disappointment this has been. Never again will I purchase an LG product. Their customer service and warranty really stinks.

We bought this unit in OCT 2017 since then it has failed twice and cost 198.00 in diagnostics and 1000.00 on lost food! In May of 2020 in the middle of the pandemic food shortage it quit cooling for four days, then magically started working again then in JAN 2021 it stopped cooling again and today Im told that it has a gas leak and that has leak are common on these LG units and to avoid all LG and Samsung refrigerators. Not at all what I was expecting from a very expensive fridge from a top name brand company. Never again. The was not my first but will be my last LG product unless they do something for me. Ill be contacting them tomorrow.

I purchased an LG top load washing machine and have been completely unsatisfied since the day I bought it. My clothes suddenly smell. I was told that is because on newer machines the drain is closer to the clothes, if that makes sense. The drain pump has broken twice. It is not a part that is in stock, so we often have to wait for the part to get it before the machine can be fixed. It also has the off balance problem that many have already mentioned. It is hard to get it balanced. Obviously, this washing machine has a defect with the drain. They should take responsibility and replace it, but are not willing. I would echo what others have said already--do not buy LG.

After reading on the energy savings we bought an LG HE front loader in 2010. Well, after reading my booklet and other information, I understood that have to keep the door open to not have odors in the washer. We have terrible build-up of mold inside the rubber gasket. I am allergic to mold. I have to get in there and clean with bleach but still comes back. I will say it cleans my clothes. You only need a tablespoon of detergent. But my problem now is the terrible LOUD noise it makes every time it empties the water out. Goes off-balance all the time with small loads. CANNOT wash a small throw rug. Its IMPOSSIBLE to find a reputable repairman. My mom bought the same washer 2011 and now her motor went after others issues with leaking. Shes going out and buying another name brand. I would never buy another LG appliance again.

We have only had our LG stove for 6 years and it now has a large, jagged crack across the entire top. We have not dropped anything on it and have taken very good care of it, so it had to be the heat from the burners. We also have an LG dishwasher which we have had to have repaired NUMEROUS times. AND we have an LG refrigerator that, all of the sudden, the light bulb inside wouldnt turn off and it was heating up all of our food and we had to have that repaired. I will never buy another LG product again. We bought all three at once so they would match when we moved into our house 6 years ago and we have had problems with ALL of them.

Gas Range LSSG3016ST - I have owned this range only 3 months, but I am very frustrated with the moaning whistle noise that comes from the unit the entire time the oven is in use and for 15 minutes or so after the oven shuts off. I thought maybe when it was used a few times it would stop but it hasnt. It is not horribly loud but loud enough I can hear it throughout the kitchen and it really gets on my nerves. I would think for a $2000.00 oven it should be quiet. I am talking with customer service and will write another review per their response. As of this time I am not a happy camper and think this will be my last LG purchase.

We purchased a brand new LG french door refrigerator (bottom drawer freezer and 2 door refrigerator with ice and water in the door). We purchased it through Home Depot for $2200 in April 2016. We researched and shopped around and felt good about the purchase. Didnt buy extended warranty - why would we... its a brand new fridge with manufacturers warranty and solid company right?? WRONG!!!I NEVER write online reviews. This experience is so shockingly horrible I had to submit a review. The ice in the door constantly melts and refreezes. When it refreezes it bonds the giant chunk of ice from the ice maker to the door. You need an icepick or a crowbar to then remove the ice maker from the door. Of course, as soon as you pry it apart, the entire bin of ice and melted water drops onto the floor and all around your feet. The melted ice block fills every nook 6 inches deep into the ice maker. Again, using an icepick you can chop up the ice and use your vacuum or spoons to extract all the ice.Home Depot wont touch this. Refer you to LG Customer Service. Took multiple calls and LG over the phone told us it was our fault and we must be leaving refrigerator door open too long and were melting the ice. They told us to open the refrigerator door NO MORE THAN 1-2 TIMES PER DAY??? Finally, they sent a technician. The technician reviewed the fridge and told me LG is terrible and he sees this all the time. However, his report back to LG indicated he found no issues. LG issued report to us that we need to TURN OFF THE ICEMAKER every night before bed and empty the bin. In the morning we can turn the ice maker back on but that we MUST USE ALL THE ICE EACH DAY OR TURN IT OFF. They claim the ice maker is so efficient and meant to make more ice than we can use because they were getting complaints it wouldnt make enough ice. So weve been turning the ice maker on and off each day - which makes us open the refrigerator doors twice a day by the way. And the problem is still there. Thanks LG!! What a waste of $2200. A waste of many peoples time in your games and a ridiculous strategy. Buyers are savvy and expect more than stupid answers. A very unsatisfied customer who is also a realtor and refers people to buy new appliances all the time! Will make sure people dont buy LG for sure!

I purchased an LG refrigerator (LSXS26326S-00) in 2015. This year January 11 it stopped cooling. I had a repair man come out to check it. We were told it was the compressor, which would run about $550 labor and $350 for the new compressor (also $145 diagnostic fee). The compressor was ordered and the repairs were done. It was repaired on a Thursday afternoon and stopped working by Friday evening. The repair man came out again and notified us the the BRAND NEW compressor was faulty. He told us this was common with LG parts and this was part of a class action lawsuit. At the time of this review, I am still without a refrigerator and just over $1000 in the negative for repairs that did not solve my problem!! I will never purchase another LG anything!! I am very upset that with this known problem LG as a company did nothing to notify consumers who purchased these faulty models of this problem that is beyond repair. So I did go online to see if the claims were true about a class action lawsuit and they were. The last day to file a claim was February 5, 2021. I was already past that date by the time I was notified there was such a thing. I wasted time and lots money on this situation and couldve just purchased a new refrigerator. I will tell everyone I know to never by LG appliances and go through this horrible experience!!LG this is for you...Consumers like myself work really hard to make sure they purchase quality products. You are doing them a disservice by not being open and honest about your products if they have problems. A company of your magnitude should make good with consumers who purchased these FAULTY models. Reimburse them or offer them a replacement model (equivalent or greater) with at least a 10 year warranty for all the pain and frustration that your product caused!!

The control panel cracked right through the power button within 2 months of it being brand new. Every time you close the door to start a cycle, it flashes its lights and then shuts off. Ive learned to shimmy the door side to side just right before closing it in order to get the cycle to start otherwise it just beeps at you and then shuts off. If it does start the cycle, it only actually finishes it about 50% of the time. You have to clean the trap every single wash - it seems like the screen is too fine and it catches so much itty bitty debris that it clogs it completely. I cant say how much I truly hate this dishwasher! I paid for 3 year warranty and am so annoyed that I have to use it so soon. Cmon LG you bloody crooks make a product that works.

I purchased a Blast Chill LG refrigerator/freezer in March 2013, paid $3,70
I purchased a Blast Chill LG refrigerator/freezer in March 2013, paid $3,700 for it. Of course the warranty has expired. A week ago, my ice maker stopped working & the refrigerator started freezing my produce. I called LG & was told to adjust the settings. The ice maker still did not work but the freezing stopped. Over the weekend (on a Saturday), my refrigerator was not cooling properly & the food in the top drawer of the freezer was melting. I called LG repair & was told that someone would come to my home on Monday between 1-5 pm but would call with a 2 hour window. They assured me that they had diagnosed the problem (my refrigerator has a system that they can use to diagnose using my cell phone). They assured me that the repairman would have all the parts with him and the cost would be $225 flat rate for parts and service. At 3:34 pm, I called LG to let them know I had not heard from anyone and they told me that they would text their repairman. An hour later, I still had not heard & called back. They again texted the repairman. Within 5 minutes, I received a call & was told that he was 20 minutes from my home. The repairman arrived and spent less than 10 minutes, all the while speaking to someone on the phone who was directing him on the review of the refrigerator. He told me that he had to order a part, a Grill Fan Assembly, and that he did not have the part available on the truck. He told me that the customer service operators were overseas and had no idea what they were doing. He told me he would squeeze me in the following day for the repair between 1-5 pm.At 3:45 pm, I sent him a text using the number he called me with the day before. No callback. I texted the number again at 4:45 pm. No return. I called LG who told me they would text him. I got a call within 5 minutes & the tech told me he would be at my home in 18 minutes. He arrived and changed the Grill Fan Assembly (while in and out of his truck talking on the phone) and left about 6:30 pm telling me that the refrigerator should start cooling. Needless to say, I woke up this morning and the food in the freezer is all defrosted, and the refrigerator/freezer is warmer today than yesterday, and the defrosted food is leaking all over the floor.I called LG repair this morning & spoke to someone in India (same as the first two times I called), who told me that the best they could do would be to send someone out on Friday or Saturday, 3 days from now. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was told that no one was available & that I could check the website for new available times for repair. I have now called a local repair tech and they have assured me that they will be out this morning to assist me with this problem. I would rather pay more to have the problem fixed correctly than to deal with LG. My entire kitchen is KitchenAid except for the refrigerator, I liked the LG better when I was looking for new appliances. WHAT A MISTAKE!

Purchased LG refrigerator in Nov. 2014. Jan. 2018 and my fridge and freezer are both at room temperature. All food is now garbage. Today repairman said this is very common for LG. Now waiting for a part to be available so repairman can come back to do the repairs. I paid $2400.00 for this fridge and it only lasted just over 3 years!!! My first fridge was $800.00 and I had it for 28 years. I would think not just twice, but more like 100 times before buying an LG refrigerator again. LG needs to step up the quality or get out of the business!!!

Weve had this LG refrigerator for the best part of 5 years and it is still going strong. There is minor rusting at the bottom part but that is probably our fault. The freezer also started to form ice which we do not like one bit but we consider it a minor thing. It has not broken down so were kind of happy with that. The light indicator became an issue back then as it was not working as it should have, but we made a minor tweak in the wiring so that its back up running good again. I wouldnt say we are particularly careful with our appliances but this fridge has managed to make it through up to this day which is very much fine. It looks like we did not make a mistake in choosing an LG product. I expect it to last another decade or so, which is how it should be with stuff like this. If it does, I will write an update on this review ten years from now and will give a 5-star rating.

I purchased a LG French Door Refrigerator through Costco in December of 2015. The refrigerator completely stopped working, it has a completely closed system so very hard to see anything. Called for help on March 11th, 2017, 15 months after purchase and still in two year warranty period. After much BS they finally agreed I was still under warranty and sent out a service request. I live in a county of 500,000 people. They had ONE service person for this entire area. That person called late that night to say they were not doing this anymore, could I call LG? I did, I am now waiting for someone from out of this area to come work on Refrig. Its been 5 days, no call. Will call Costco tomorrow and see what happens next. LG clearly has NO interest in caring for its products if they have ZERO technicians in a community of 500,000 people. DONT PURCHASE LG!!!

Bought an LG fridge a year and a half ago for over $2000.00. Suppose to be top of the line. It started making a terrible sound and the cooling started to fail. By morning the fridge completely shut down. Called HhGregg who stated, Your warranty expired. What do you expect us to do? Found out no one works on LG fridges in my area. Got a hold of HHGreggs service center who said they would be out. They have come out 5 times in the last 10 weeks and left each time knowing the fridge is not fixed. White, plain. The brackets supporting the dishwasher broke within a year so my dishwasher is without the side supports that hold it in place. NEVER buy any LG appliances! After going back and forth with them for 4 months about our fridge, theyve yet to send anyone out to fix it or replace it. The closest technician lived in Bolton, MS. He drove down one day and was here 5 mins and only checked the temperature of the fridge and left. He supposedly had to order a control board that hasnt come in after 2 months. Then I was told to email a copy of the receipt from when it was purchased so that the rep could send it to someone in higher authority to decide whether or not theyd refund us. That was 2 weeks ago that it was sent to the rep and still no answer back. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and no one to service their HORRIBLE products! We bought 5 LG appliances in April of 2010 and had them installed in August same year. So far we have had to have the wall oven repaired twice after only 3 years. After the first repair it broke down again within 7 months and we were told the warranty for the new part was only 6 months! Trying to get a second repair took over a month of angry phone calls just to try to get a LG certified repair shop to even book an appointment! When contacting customer service they will not let you speak with any sort of management/supervisory personnel and there is no way to receive an address for a letter of complaint. Our convection microwave also stopped working after less than 3 years and had to be replaced at the same time as the second oven repair. Should have been done with the first oven repair but could not get the part from LG in time and they were going to charge for another service call!Side by side double drawer bottom mount freezer refrigerator hasnt had the water dispenser work for a couple years. Their top of the line dishwasher has been having grinding sounds for over a year and this week is now on a continual run cycle no matter which cycle you request, just does not stop as well as having the loud grinding sound the whole time it runs whether 2 minutes or 20 hours! Just waiting for our induction cooktop to be the last of the appliances to quit, should be coming any time now! It astounds me that consumers can pay top dollar for products and get lower than average results with the products and customer service. Trying to speak to anyone within the customer service center is a lesson in how not to conduct business, and not being able to have a contact address or email or phone number for customer complaint is infuriating.

Purchased a LG 1.5 ft.³ smart inverter microwave oven in August 2019. Three weeks later the unit quit heating. I called LG customer support and was eventually told the magnetron was defective. I was told I could send the microwave back to LG and they would replace me with a brand new one. Not wanting to wait, I decided to return the microwave to Home Depot where it was purchased and was given a full refund. Because Home Depot‘s return policy includes a 90 day exchange or refund, I decided to purchase a different brand. The moral to this story is don’t wait on LG to refund, replace, or repair your appliance if it is newer than three months. Take it back to the store you bought it from instead. Far less stressful.

After two years, our LG dishwasher stopped pumping out the water after washing. Upon calling LG customer service, after having to pre-pay an expensive repair bill, they sent a technician to our home to repair the machine. We are now on our fifth visit and the machine is still not repaired. The repair person just took the new parts, put them in the machine, slid the machine back into the cabinet and left, never to return to complete the job.The machines quality is poor, parts difficult to get, and service totally incompetent. Avoid this companys products at all costs. They are over priced, do not last, and are difficult to get repaired. We also own an LG refrigerator and after one year, the ice maker/water dispenser system totally failed. We are talking about a two thousand five hundred dollar refrigerator. Again, avoid LG appliances, they are junk! Their repair service is just as bad, if not worse.

The repair company said they would contact us as soon as the part arrived. We are now in our 4th week without refrigeration!!! Yes, we had to go through the holidays using coolers and have lost so much costly food! I rarely give bad reviews but my experience has not been so good dealing with LG. On 2016 I purchased a gas double oven range for $1,600.00 and also purchased a 5 year warranty with it. Well a few weeks ago my stove top kept shutting off on its own while I am using it and would make a sound as if it was about to explode to the point it shook my oven twice in the process while I was standing in front of it. It scared me, I called the Home Depot protection plan and explained to them what was happening. I filed a claim on August 6, 2020. They sent me an email stating that my service appointment has been accepted, I received a text on August 14, 2020 stating that the technician will be there between 9am/4:pm.The day that they were supposed to come we get a call from the company that was supposed to come out to fix it that they are not coming because they do not service our area and that I need to call the Home Depot protection plan back. I called them the same day and told them what I was told and they told me they would look into it and let me know once they find someone that can service my area. When they didn’t call me I decided to call, Almost two weeks went by nothing so I called again and they had the nerve to tell me that it’s showing that I canceled the job, which was a lie. I was not happy but I kept my cool and they finally found someone to service my area and told me that they would be there on August 25th, 2020 between 9am/5:pm.Once the technician arrived he looked at it and told me he had to order the part and I will get a call when they will come to replace the part. Two or three days after the technician came both of my oven stopped working so I called them and told them that and asked them if they were going to send someone out to look at it since it is a different issue, they told me no and that the parts that the technician is going to replace should fix the problem. Mind you they didn’t even know what the issue was, anyway On September 11, 2020 the technician came to replace the part, I told him, Well the oven is not working and I was told that the part you are about to replace should fix that issue. He replied, I am not quite sure if it will because I don’t know what the issue is but I will take a look at it after I install this part. Guess what? It did not fix the oven part of it so now he had to order another part. On September 18,2020 the technician came to replace the part for the oven, once he replaced it the oven was still not working, the technician told me the oven cannot be fix and that there is no parts to replace that he will go to his truck, call the office and let them know that so they can move on to the next step and he will let me know what they said. I waited inside my house and the technician never came back in. I noticed he left without letting me know what was said.I immediately called the company and they told me they will submit the report to home depot protection plan and let them know. I decided right after I got off the phone with them to call me Home Depot protection plan and let them know what I was told and they told me, Ok we will wait for them to submit it and it should take 24 to 72 hours for them to make a decision and get back to me. On September 22, 2020 I called Home Depot protection plan to find out the status. I explained the situation and I was transferred to a supervisor and I waited an hour on the phone before I finally reached a supervisor. I also explained the situation and he told me he would contact LG to escalate this for a buy out review and told me to look out for an email tomorrow.About two hours later I get a call telling us that a technician will be coming on September 23rd, 2020 to fix the oven. I was confused so I called Home Depot protection plan again to ask them what was going on and why were they sending the same company to fix something that they already deemed could not be fixed, they transferred me to a supervisor again and I waited another hour for a supervisor to come on the phone. The supervisor tells me that there was never a report sent to them stating that they could not fix the oven and that LG is sending a technician out to service my oven.It is going on almost two months going back and forth with Home Depot protection plan and LG and I am still with an oven that is not working and they have been bouncing me back and forth and I am been told something different every time I call. I operate a business from home that requires me to use my stove top and oven on the regular and not having a working oven has affected my business and my ability to cook for my 6 children and husband. This has been one of the worst experience, the range is only 4 years old. It was very expensive and it is a shame that it had gone bad in such a short time.Home Depot protection plan and LG are the absolute worst to deal with. It is unfair and very unprofessional what they are doing because when I purchase the protection plan I was told if they could not fix the product after they attempt to fix the problem they would replace the product or provide me with the money that I purchased it for to get another one. Now they are playing game and going around the bushes. I am very disappointed, unsatisfied and frustrated with both Home Depot protection plan and LG.

I purchased an LG washer 21/2 years ago from Home Depot and last weekend it failed during a load. I could not get my clothes out. The main PCB board failed. This washer was only used for a couple of loads a week. What really bothered me was the treatment I got from LG. The service people kept hanging up on me and they would not do anything for me even though they had a service bulletin out identifying the board as a problem and had developed an updated replacement board. Stay away from LG equipment. Their equipment is not reliable and they do not stand by their equipment.

Let’s see. So my French door fridge (model # LFC25770SB) is only 2 years old. Weve had it since May 2010. It was bought brand new from Home Depot for our new home. It has worked fine until 11/14/2012. I came home from work and the entire bottom cavity (freezer) was thawed out and everything completely ruined (my Thanksgiving meal, since we went shopping a few days prior)! The freezer isn’t keeping anything cold, so therefore neither is the fridge! The fridge was 47 degrees when I got home! I called LG on their emergency line the night it happened and was told that the food that I lost would be covered in part. Not the case! They refused to cover anything. I have to wait up to 3 weeks for a new part, which I have to pay out of pocket for, and the labor that is included in fixing this part! Needless to say, a 2-year-old fridge was obviously a piece of **! I lost over $500 in groceries, not to mention the insulin that I had in the fridge because I’m a diabetic! LG lost this customer! And I doubt they will care to do anything! All they say is they are sorry! Must not really be sorry, because I should have gotten a reimbursement for some of the product lost because of their ** appliance that broke after, seriously, only 2 years! Do something LG!

We purchased our LG electric range in 2016 for remodel. It worked great for approximately 3 years & then the heating would not work properly, I have to set the heating at 425 to reach 350 temperature. Of course at this point it is out of warranty. I’ve had a LG service repair man out to fix & he could not figure out what it could be. I paid for his service & it actually worked properly for about 2 weeks then back to low heat. I’ve never had any problems with ovens. We bought all new LG appliances in the black stainless & no problems with them but the electric range is a fail. Will never buy anything LG ever again.

LG DLE5977SM dryer built to last 5 years or less. Like most people with stainless steel LG dryers, the drum cracked near the front of the weld seam. It is not thumping and scraping on every turn. This is a chronic problem that LG should address. That is why they have a 5 year warranty on their drums for both the dryers and washers...they dont expect them to last more than 5 years. Im going back to german built appliances. Thanks LG, youve just lost another customer who will never buy LG again.!!

I wish I could rate this refrigerator LG French Door Bottom Freezer LFXS289685 with negative stars. We had this fridge for 2 years. It made vibrating noise and failed June 29, 2018. We have had 7 repair visits including 3 that included parts. They replaced the compressor, motherboard and evaporator 3X, they replaced the freezer sensor 2X, and the dryer 1X. Now 8/30, yes over 2 months later they (Sears Master Protection Warranty) are finally admitting defeat and opening a case for a replacement. Avoid this and the Sears Elite French door bottom freezer as they are also LG.

I purchased the LG WM0642H from Home Depot on Feb. 12, 2007. We were told it was the best and most efficient energy and water saving machine. It has left the towels dirty and musty/moldy odor. The towels can only be used one time and they have to be washed again. I use all the right HE products. I quit using liquid Downy, thinking that was the cause of the build up.I use the washer cleaner that Tide makes and it does no good. All these products just cost more to operate the machine. We have the vibration in the adjoining rooms that shake the walls, during the spin cycle. We paid for an extended warranty that ended 2010, but when I had them out during that time, they couldnt find any problems. They just reprimanded me to use the HE products; although that is all I use.Truly, when is this product going to be taken off the market and the truth be told? I will certainly use the word of mouth to all that will listen. This is a blight on America to sell something this inferior. The next machine I buy will be the tried and true top loading with plenty of water and it will surely clean the clothes.

I have owned an LG refrigerator with a bottom freezer for the past eight years. Besides the beautiful design of my refrigerator, I don’t have many good things to say about LG as a company. As a matter of fact, as a free trade supporter, I would limit access of this company into the US market because it does not uphold US product and service standards. The internal organs my refrigerator, made out of plastic, began breaking in the first two years. Two years ago when my refrigerator stopped cooling just before a big holiday for each I had to cook for and store food, it took LG four days to send appropriate serviceman to take care of the problem. The first repairman did not even have the appropriate equipment to fix the refrigerator and passed the buck on to someone else. When I called LG again and insisted on an LG certified repairman they had sent one. At that point I was out of warranty my refrigerator needed a new compressor which was installed two years ago in 2016, and for which I paid full price out of my own pocket. Recently I’ve had a problem where my freezer is not working but the refrigerator is still cooling. When the question of replacing the two-year-old compressor with a new one came up, LG stated that it’s company‘s policy is that if a compressor has been replaced and the refrigerator is out of warranty, the standard manufacturer warranty for compressors which is typically for most appliances 5 to 10 years does not hold water any longer. When you call for service you have to threaten and move up the ladder to speak to a few supervisors before you can get an adequate service. I will never own any LG product again and I would gladly share this recommendation warmly with any person I know. Who needs you LG? Go back home and stay there!!!

Purchased a LG washing machine on Nov. 17, 2016. Broke on Dec. 2. Had the repair man from LG out to fix it. Lasted 2 1/2 loads. Broke again. LG customer service gave me the runaround, but finally got the repairman out again. Replaced 3 parts. Machine failed again after 1 1/2 loads. Contacted LG. Got the runaround again, could not get LGs own repair man to come look at it. Finally have a 3rd appt. for Dec. 12. Dont have ANY confidence in LGs repair staff. Hoping after 3 fails they will replace the unit. Communication between customer service and their repair staff is TERRIBLE! Would I buy another LG machine? Probably not. All the their customer service can manage to do promptly and correctly is say Im sorry for your inconvenience. Even then, Im pretty sure they dont mean it.

I have been loading home dishwashers for over sixty years and my LGF7774 is the worst, and I must say, nearly impossible to load effectively. Because it doesn’t seem to be designed for actual dishes, it takes longer to load, as I have to move things around constantly to get them where they will actually get clean. The top rack areas for glasses seems to be slanted wrong and are the wrong width. As a result the glasses often fall over and break as I’m closing the tray. The bottom rack is even more frustrating. Those prongs that flop down to accommodate (what?), pans perhaps, may have seemed like a good idea to some engineer, but in use they plop down whether you want them to or not. The bottom of the lower rack could also use some redesigning. I have many square dishes and have to be over-cautious about seeing that the corners don’t extend downward where they will interfere with the spray arm.The dishes washed appear to be clean, but don’t smell clean. I’m asking the world of manufacturers, “If the user has to rewash things, or wash them before using a machine, how much water and electricity is that saving? And if I cover the food-left-on smell with a scented rinse does that make the dishes cleaner?” In fairness I must add that I just discovered that it has an extra rinse cycle and am at the moment trying that one out.

We purchased an LG front loading washer, WM2101H, almost 3 years ago. I thought the bad smells from the washer was our water (we have hard public well water). Reading the reviews, I can see I was mistaken. Just recently our washer stopped spinning. We called out a repairman who told us that is would cost $850 to repair and oh, by the way, only $205 is covered under warranty. It wasnt just one thing. It was the seal that broke which caused the motor to get wet? I dont remember exactly the chain of events. I was in stun mode when I talked to the repairman. He said that the washer does really bad with hard water and water softener. Funny, they never told us that when we bought the thing. Im pretty upset! We only paid less than $800 for the washer to begin with. I will never buy anything LG again!

I started noticing small holes in my clothes, which baffled me. I’m worried that maybe we had moths, so I took out all of my clothes, emptied the closets, re-washed, and dried them. Now, all of my clothes had holes in it. I did some research online to discover that cracked drums in LG are fairly common :( I looked inside my dryer, and lo and behold, there was in fact a crack, and the crack was what was ripping all my clothes. LG was bought at Home Depot. I had to wait over a week to get someone in to fix it. All my clothes are ruined. I will never buy LG again. Also, the washer gets stuck on 9 minutes any time you wash towels, and it routinely overflows with soap even if I use HE detergent and fill it to well below the normal level indicated in the soap receptacle.

PSA: DO NOT buy an LG refrigerator. Both they, and the service company they contract with, A&E are absolutely horrible. Back story: I purchased an LG fridge 2.5 years ago to replace an aging one which was keeping food in the 56º range. The new fridge worked fine with the exception of the black satin stainless finish on it which had started peeling off. About a month ago I called to report that. They sent out a service tech who said it was a manufacturers defect and it was covered. They would replace the doors in approximately two weeks.About a week after that, the fridge quit working. I checked all the stuff a non technical person like myself knows to check: had the door been left open; was the air intake clogged. Nope and nope. I busted out the manual. They said to call LG if it was failing to cool so I got on the horn with their service. Shortly into the phone call, the customer service person says, touch the inside of the fridge, does it have any condensation on it? It did not. He told me it was the compressor and promptly scheduled a service call which was about a week out. So I threw out stuff which would perish soon, got freezer stuff to my friends and cleaned the fridge so that it would not get stanky sitting closed up without power. The tech shows up as scheduled, confirms it is the compressor and also the motherboard and orders parts. The parts arrive a few days later, they are the wrong parts. We are now a week and a half in. He blames it on LG (who knows if it was LG or A&E at this point) and says he is going to order the parts and they will be overnighted. Had this been the case they would have arrived on a Thursday, come the next Tuesday, there are still no parts, so we call again. Now the story is that they will be ordering the parts and they will be here tomorrow. LG ships the parts to the consumers home, and A&E will not schedule until the parts arrive so first you get to wait for the parts, then you get to wait for them to have availability in their schedule. The parts arrive, three days later they schedule the tech yet again. They call the day that the repair is to be scheduled and say that the tech called in that day and they will need to reschedule. At this point another friend gets on the horn and basically tells them, oh hell no! and they miraculously find someone from Cape Girardeau and send him up. The guy puts the parts in, says to leave the fridge for 24 hours before putting anything into it. This was yesterday. Wake up this morning and the fridge is yet again a balmy 65º.Call LG AGAIN .... and A&E is closed and wont be able to schedule anything until Monday. Which will then of course be another service call scheduled days out, another tech coming out saying, yes the fridge is not working, ordering additional parts, waiting for parts, waiting to schedule said parts to be told that the fridge cannot be repaired. The fridge is under manufacturers warranty. The failed compressor has a 10 year warranty. I have the extended 5 year store warranty. There are so many 1 ⭐️ reviews on the LG fridge and A&E with people who are having the exact same issues as I am with both companies on Consumer Affairs, this entire debacle is being repeated all over the place. We are now three weeks into this, the doors never did arrive, the fridge still doesnt work and we are waiting on service yet again. If I can save any of you the headache, I wanted to put this out there.

Bought LP model LFX25978ST /00 1/28/2012. Lasted 7 Years. The repairman said we fortunate because in LG training classes the instructor, when asked about the life of the LG fridges, he said 5 yrs avg. Stay away from Samsung and LG Fridges. We were without for 2 wks waiting for part after part till it came down to being the compressor. It was under warranty however LG told me that I should and have to have a certified LG repair person make the diagnosis and fix.Gentleman came and was very courteous. LG sent us a compressor overnight but it took 4 days to receive it. Then come to find out not only was the compressor shot but it leaked freon out into the inner casing and all that would have be replaced. He said go get a new fridge because the repairs would be way more than the cost of a new one. Still have the compressor. Tried to return it to LG, since it will only fit that model, they said would issue an RMA. Its been a month now and I still have not received it. Called they said it would come when it comes. Never again will I buy an LG Appliance.

Purchased in Spring of 2015, and just before the year warranty went out, the ice maker quit working. After a week or two we got that fixed, and while waiting on that repair, my sons LG refrigerator stopped cooling and he was having major issues with getting it repaired b/c it was out of the year warranty (purchased Fall of 2014). Because he was having so many issues, we decided to buy the LG Extended Warranty, just in case, and it was over $500. So now were in for over $3000 for this refrigerator. FYI, my son junked his after several months b/c he could not find anyone who could/would work in it or even figure out what was wrong with it!!! THEN just this past month, July 18th we returned home from a weeks vacation and the refrigerator had stopped working, so we were up until late throwing out over $500 worth of food and cleaning a nasty refrigerator. My husband called them immediately and started the process of getting the repairs made using the LG Extended Warranty. It took him three calls to just get to the right people that might could help us, and they said it would be the end of the week before anyone could JUST look at it! Well, those folks never called the day before, as promised, so my husband starts calling again. Finally someone showed up on July 28th, but guess what? Its a sealed system and LG wouldnt let them work on it. My husband has spent hours on the phone going from person after person up the chain, and finally on August 2nd he got a supervisor that admitted that they had no one in the State of Louisiana that could even work on our refrigerator!!!We are waiting for a call by 2:00 today to see what they are going to do about the situation, to fix or replace... oh, and the LG Extended Warranty will only reimburse us for $250 of our food, not to mention weve had to eat out much more and buy a smaller refrigerator just to keep a few cold food items in! LG is a JOKE, both their refrigerators and their LG Extended Warranties!!! STEER CLEAR OF LG REFRIGERATORS!!! Ill let you know what happen when we hear back from LG.

Three years ago I purchased the LG WT4870C washer -- a He top loader with stainless tub. Its been less than a satisfying experience owning it. The unit flashes the IE error code on virtually every load of laundry. Since my washer is in the basement, Im blissfully unaware of the error code. So, the wash cycle practically never finished when I expect; Ive come to count on it taking twice as long to do laundry as it should. The IE error code indicates a dirty water filter, and I wonder how I ever existed for years with my old washer -- it never gave me a bit of trouble related to water quality. This unit is so sophisticated. It can actually sync to your smart phone. Who gives a damn!! Can I start a wash cycle and add clothes as the tub is filling with water? Nope! I like to do that to save time, but LG thinks its a good idea to lock the lid so you must get all your dirty clothes inside the tub before you start. You cannot open that sucker while its working. Not happening. And, in this great freedom-loving country of ours, do I get to choose how much water to use to wash my clothes? Nope! I should be able to wash one sock with 10 gallons of water if I choose. Whether or not I have my own well (which I do), it should be my choice. Sometimes I just want to soak -- I mean truly SOAK -- something in water. The control freaks at LG decided to be clever and prevent the user from exercising this right. You will use exactly the amount of water THEY want you to use. Seems very un-American to me. In short, simple is usually better, and the LG WT4870C is not simple. Dont be drawn in by all the bright lights and fancy chimes. This unit is overpriced and the product of Big Brothers crack team of controllers. I wish I had not bought it.

I bought an LG dishwasher based on the positive reviews, however, 18 months in, it quit and the faulty part is not covered under any warranty. So my $700 dishwasher (got it on sale so that was good) is now a $1200 dishwasher. Its large and cool, but in my opinion not worth $1200. LG knows this part fails, the repair tech showed us how the panel fails due to the heat and moisture that gets in it, and the replacement part has an epoxy coating that keeps it from doing that. But instead of recalling and replacing the part they KNOW will fail, they make you get the repair BY A LICENSED LG REPAIR PERSON ONLY, and pay for it. Pretty shoddy workmanship and poor customer service. We will NEVER buy ANY LG product again.

LG REFRIGERATOR MODEL: GSJ761PZXV. I have purchased the above LG refrigerator from LG in May 2019, and I figured out that LG technology has far exceeded their current capability. This refrigerator has a space shuttle technology. Back in January the sensor malfunction and it makes beeping sound every few minutes for 24/7 non stop. Reported to LG and arrange for the technician to come over to fix, however on the 1st visit unable to fix it and need to order the parts and arrange for next appointment in Feb but during this time the appointment has been rescheduled due to parts did not arrive. Then the technician came and find out the LG has sent him the wrong parts and need to arrange for another appointment and wait for the parts to arrive. Yesterday (9 April) the technician informed us that he has received the wrong parts from LG again and need to reschedule the appointment.Very very disappointed with LG, they only know how to manufacture refrigerators but dont know how to fix it, they have no knowledge about their product, (got the model no.) and still cannot figure out the correct parts to fix the problem. Customer service will put you through different people over the phone but with no solution. This beeping sound has been going on non stop 24/7 for 4 months. I did this but the flakes come back every 2-3 weeks and I must run the tub clean cycle and use the product, then rewash my clothes! What a waste of time, money and water! After running tub clean, the tub still needs to be wiped out. At 5’1” I cannot reach the bottom of the tub. I use a step stool which throws off my center of gravity. I chose this fridge because it got good ratings with Consumer Reports. They must not read these reviews! Our experience was similar to others here. The fridge worked great for 18 months and then the freezer quit. First local authorized agent was not up to the task and walked away after wasting three weeks of our time. Second agent, an hour distant, did get the compressor replaced (bravo!), but by then we had been down for 38 days. It took many phone calls. Although the young people who answer at LG were friendly and tried to help, it was frustrating to hear the life is good recording with each call as the days kept passing. LG did cover the repair cost.It has now been five months and so far everything is fine. But I wonder if this compressor, which Im told is the same model as the defective one, is likely to fail in another year or so. And will they cover the cost again? And will it take a month again? Another concern is the cost to the environment of these new high efficiency appliances which apparently have a much shorter service life than the old models.

My refrigerator went out 7 weeks ago. I called LG. They gave me a number to call to do the repairs. The compressor was out and LG covered it but we had to pay $500 in labor. LG sent the wrong compressor not realizing till the wrong one was installed. Called them. They sent a second wrong compressor. Call them. Was told it was dcd and is unfixable. I said my fridge is only 6 years old. They said I had to have my bill of sale. I can not find it. They told me they would figure out some other way to help and would call me in 3-5 business days. They did not call me so I called them. It was like starting all over again telling me to call the same people to come and look at it to service. After explaining several times he was short with me and rude and told me they will not help me without the receipt. What do they think? I walked out of Lowes carrying a refrigerator and stole it. I will never buy a LG product again.

We bought our fridge about 7 years ago. The drawer on the upper part of the frig broke about 1 year ago, and today a giant chunk of the freezer door shelf fell off. I looked at how much replacement parts cost and the price is not justifiable. Hope LG sees this review!

Even though it says dont rinse the dishes, just scrape them, this DW doesnt get the job done. Ive tried all kinds of soaps and rinses and I often have to hand scrape food off the plates and from inside glasses. I had a Sears Kenmore for its lifespan and they dont make anything like it. Disappointed, wont buy LG again.

Everything about this stove is fine except for the front burner grids. Some fancy designer who has never cooked on a stove in his life decided that it would LOOK GOOD if the front burner grates curved in to match the shape of the griddle. It leaves a big gap on the outer corner of the stove and I ran into the frying pan handle and the pan and all of its hot bacon grease contents went flying across my kitchen. I thought I was being more careful when I hit the handle of a pot of hot stew and it went flying across the kitchen. You must keep your children out of the kitchen when using these front burners. THIS IS A HUGE HAZARD! DO NOT BUY AN LG STOVE WITH GRIDDLE IN THE MIDDLE.

I have my double door (side by side) LG refrigerator got cooling issues and registered a complaint (Ref. **) with LG customer care toll free number. They promised to attend the case within 24 hours. Unfortunately nobody attended the case even after 36 hours and and I had all my frozen and refrigerated food items spoiled. When I contacted LG customer care again and again, they were saying silly excuses and not helpful at all, I feel LG have appointed dumb ** in customer care and service. I understands it is a persisting issue with LG and many issues with their after sales and service. We, Indians welcomed them with both hands and made them leading brand in India!!! Now that we have to regret and run after them to get service! Looks too many customers and too many complaints! Lets help them NOT buying more LG products so that they can concentrate on existing customer service...

I have LG brand washer and dryer as well so it was a brand I could trust. It helped that I got a discount from buying from the same company and they rewarded me for being a frequent shopper. I love the brand and have had no issues with them so far. The smart electronic option where I can see my shopping list is really helpful for mom who forgets so much with everything going on. Being able to jot it down and have it connected to my phone is such a wonderful and neat option. But I hate not being able to organize my fridge the way I want it and the freezer doesnt have as much space as I would like. I bargain shop and want to be able to stock up on much needed items for my family.

We bought a new LG Washing Machine from Lowes in March 2015. We have already had problems with the machine. Now we are getting the message E6 which means we have a clutch problem. We have had to wait a week for the service call. Very disappointed with Lowes and LG.Updated on 08/14/2015: It seems as if we are nothing to Lowes or LG. The repairman showed up Tuesday and now has to order parts. These parts are a clutch and PC board. Lowes and LG has no idea when the repair company will receive the parts. We have now been without a washing machine for over 2 weeks. I will not buy another LG product nor do business at Lowes unless it is an emergency. Thank God we do have a 5 year warranty on the washer and dryer.

I want everyone to know how LG handles their two year warranties. My unit was in use for 9 months before dying. Oh and this is not the first problem I have had with other LG products. So, HERE is the email they sent me today after spending a tremendous amount of time on the phone with them already. This reimbursement certificate is valid for ninety (90) days from the above date. In order to receive your reimbursement, please carefully follow the below instructions. 1. Purchase a new LG Microwave product from an authorized retailer within the next ninety (90) days. 2. Remove all of the manufacturers model/serial number label(s) from the back of the old unit, tear/cut in half, and affix each half separately to this letter below. 3. Please upload a copy of this signed letter along with torn labels to the link provided.Once we have received your letter with the copy of the new units receipt and attached label(s), we will validate/process your claim and issue a check. We purchased an LG front-load washer online. It was delivered on 12/3/13. It quit working after 2 loads, showing a dE error message (supposedly a door/latch problem of some sort). The appliance serviceman sent to our house by LG made 4 unsuccessful attempts to fix it, over a span of about 4 weeks. He tried replacing both the latch (twice) and the door (twice). After this, LG wanted the service company to order still more parts for more repair attempts, but the service company finally called and told us to call LG and tell them you want a new machine. We did, last week. After several days I called LG again. Nothing had happened, since they required an official receipt (proof of purchase), which wasnt mentioned in the previous call. The LG rep then said to allow 4-5 days for a resolution. Today I called back and was told it takes 7 days for the claim investigation to be completed. So its been 5 1/2 weeks since weve had a working washer, and only God knows when well have one again. Instead, were treated to multiple trips to distant laundromats and picturesque, sky-high piles of unwashed clothes. And many fun hours on the phone, sending emails, and awaiting the repairman, who by now seems like a member of the family.

I purchased the LG LFX31925SW/04 in May of 2013. Within a very short period of time the compressor went and it stopped cooling. The part was replaced and covered by warranty. The ice maker had problems freezing up from the very get-go. I just learned to take a spoon and open the compartment in the door to break it up. The door must not keep it cool enough to remain frozen. There are only two of us who live in this house so its not being opened and closed frequently. At about year 2 1/2 the area under directly the ice make maker started rusting and became very unsightly. My husband tried to fix it and of course you can not get a professional finish at home. I called the warranty dept. of LG and they informed me it was not covered under warranty because its considered cosmetic! I would not agree, given that the poor design it what is causing this issue. The metal obviously on the front of the fridge is not rust resistant. It now looks like it came from the local thrift shop. We live in an air-conditioned home with low humidity. UGH! The refrigerator door on the right side is now not closing and it must be another design flaw because it is mentioned repeatedly online as an issue. The cost of the French door refrigerator was $2400. And that was 5 years ago. I bought the microwave and the dishwasher at the same time. They have functioned ok, but I would never buy LG again given my experience with the product and the customer service!

Purchased this refrigerator with high hopes due to the design and features but thats where it stopped. We have had numerous service issues about cooling and freezing over past 2 years and now they cannot repair. After calling for supervisor he tells me 2-3 more weeks for an approval to replace...we have been without this appliance working for 11 weeks with 8 repair visits. I will never buy anything LG builds ever again, horrible experience.

I purchased an LG Top loading washing machine from PC Richards in Levittown
I purchased an LG Top loading washing machine from PC Richards in Levittown NY. I purchased the Machine in June 2020 and the machine has broke twice already! I called PC Richards to repair the machine as I bought the extended warranty. The machine is leaking from the bottom and it sounds like a lawn mower!! PC Richards was horrible. I have an elderly mother I care for who is on Hospice. When I asked how long until a repair operator can come out to fix they said a week or 2!!! That is ridiculous. I have water in my house and I cant use the washer. I have 6 people with no clean laundry. I spent over a $1000.00 for this machine and the best PC Richards can do is say it is what it is. I feel like a prisoner. How am I supposed to care for my dying parent who needs clean sheets and laundry daily!!!
