Samsung Microwave Model OBX ME21DG6500MTAA
Ice continually forms around the cooling fan which results in the fan hitting the ice making a loud noise and then the fan freezing up completely. I have had to replace the fan twice and remove the fan access door and de-ice the fan four times. There are videos on YouTube that show how to fix this issue due to the number of times this happens with this happens. Neighbor has the same refrigerator and has the exact same problem. Has all the bells and whistles and looks nice, only problem is the cooling function, the entire purpose for a refrigerator, works intermittently.
Purchased the refrigerator less than two years ago and after about 18 months refrigerator stopped cooling. After we paid Samsung to fix the issue which was a faulty sensor, fridge froze up and stopped cooling again. Every time there was a loud noise coming from the fridge. Of course shuts off when you open the door. Had to replace sensor 2x. Now it looks like we have to have it replaced again. Loud fan noise coming from the fridge. Dont buy a Samsung Fridge ever. Bad design.
Ours was JUST out of warranty. It never cleaned the dishes with the recommended soap and our plumber also knew exactly what was wrong with it as soon as he heard the symptoms. He also told us it would keep happening. LOWES would do nothing for us nor would Samsung. Im 60 and have used MANY different washers in my home and others. I must say this one is THE rotten egg. It is broken once again and Im sure it will do no good to call either LOWES or SAMSUNG. GRADE F.
Bought fridge July 1, 2015. Bought extended plan. 9/13/2016 started making motor noise. Repair came 9/21/16, said it was motor. Part has not come in as of 10/31/16. On 10/28/16 freezer stopped working. Lost freezer contents. On 10/30/16, freezer motor and started running again & got cold. Still a loud running noise. Repair cant come out until 11/2/16. But they still have no part. I am very unhappy. I will NEVER purchase another Samsung appliance again. Am letting all my friends know to stay away from them too! Over a month to fix a year old fridge. Unacceptable.
Two year ago I purchased a Samsung $2100 refrigerator and a Samsung $599, 2.1 cu ft microwave and a Samsung $699 dishwasher from Lowes, top of the line on all but the refrigerator. To date the dishwasher never heated the water - my dishes are always dirty and I have to hand wash most right after I take them out. The only heat is when I push the sanitize button; otherwise the water is cold (yes, I checked to see if there is a line from the hot water side of my system). For the refrigerator, the water filter required replacement 2 months after I purchased it and the ice button gets stuck and continues to dispense ice, even after I remove the glass. THE MICROWAVE IS MY LATEST CASUALTY. Last night, it went to an E5 error code, basically indicating that steam from the stove had destroyed the membrane keypad. THEN WHY IS IT MADE TO BE INSTALLED OVER A STOVE? I would not buy Samsung again unless it was the only appliance in the world. I got no support from Lowe’s, since they were out of warranty. Now I will go and buy new appliances and they will be basic, simple ones. My Kenmore stuff lasted over 10 years. I just replaced them because I want top-of-the-line - well $3400 divided by 24 months means I paid $142 per month simply for the privilege of owning a Samsung. Never again.
I am having a week of nightmare with my Samsung refrigerator. My NEW refrigerator stopped cooling so I call this horrible company Samsung to help me and all they did was give me the number of a technician that could only come to my house and check the problem in 1 week. Finally when the technician came he told me that my NEW refrigerators compressor does not work and needs to be replaced, and the process takes from 3-5 business day. So I called Samsung to ask for help since all my good has spoiled and I need to keep ordering food for the entire family, including our 3 years old child and Samsung said just to keep the receipt. REALLY?! If you even consider to get a Samsung refrigerator just stop it... They will sell you a broken one and will not help with anything you need... REALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY.
We bought a Samsung gas stove about 2 years ago for about $1200. Today we found out that we will have a nearly $300 repair bill for a new igniter in the oven. It seems that because we used the oven every day one or two times, the igniter was burned out. This is just incomprehensible to us! I also dont like the burners on top of the stove. Two are large burners with lots of BTUs. Both, one more than the other, send flames around even the biggest pot I own. (Think huge stock pot and a large 12 frying pan.) What good are BTUs if you always have the burner on slightly over medium even to heat water for pasta. This stove is very attractive, BUT it is all show and no go!
Ive been so disappointed since I bought my Refrigerator at Lowes in 2011, paid over $1,000 and have had it serviced so many times. The ice bucket cracked, then the ice maker broke, it had a water leak. They had to remove the panel. It was FROZEN. Now, called again because I dont know if its the fan or motor, I hope my food doesnt go bad. Im upset because of all the problems I continue to have and have to get another service contract just so I can keep it as long as I can. The first refrigerator I had lasted 10 years and I didnt have as many service calls as I do with this Samsung. I dont think I will be buying another Samsung refrigerator again. Too many problems!!
The ice maker is a standard size and tends to produce ice adequately. HOWEVER, BE WARNED that Samsung ice makers are very poor quality. They tend to dispense crushed ice even when you dont want it. They definitely dispense broken bits of cubes constantly. I have contacted Samsung about this issue and their attitude is well, thats just the way it is, too bad. Its a shame that a $3,000 refrigerator comes with such an inferior ice maker and even a bigger shame that Samsung thinks its okay to sell you a fridge that spits ice in your floor every time you use it. Their customer service department said that if they send a technician out to look at it they will bill me because they dont consider this a defect. Huh?? Be informed before you buy a Samsung product.
My Samsung refrigerator (Stainless Steel Bottom Freezer) is less than a year old and the freezer stopped working this evening (12 Jun 2018). I am thoroughly convinced, after having read similar reviews published within the last few days and weeks, that the Samsung refrigerators were either immediately defective upon being manufactured or became defective while in transit. Though the product is currently under warranty, I do not look forward to having to deal with the retailer (Home Depot) and/or the manufacturer in order to repair it. I strongly advise the reader to not purchase a Samsung refrigerator.
I purchased a Samsung microwave model # SMH 9151S 1 year and 5 months ago. The unit has abruptly failed. The unit will not power on, nothing responds. I contacted Samsung and faxed them all of my purchase information. Samsung contacted me to say (what I had feared) that it was beyond the 1-yr. warranty and they would contact a repair person to come and diagnose the problem. I would have to cover all of the expense. Many consumers are in the same boat. We can either pay for a repair that will often exceed the value of the unit or buy a new unit.
My microwave has almost caught fire on two separate occasions. The panel heated up and smoke came out of the vents. Another time it turned itself on and it Wouldnt shut off. Had to unplug it. Piece. Of. Crap.
My Samsung refrigerator model RF323TEDBSR french door was the best Samsung had to offer. It is nearly 4 yrs old now. From about one year to present it has had freezing up issues in the refrigerator section. After numerous attempt to remedy this issue with Samsung, they just keep giving me the same runaround telling me to level the fridge and set the temperatures as they recommend. I have done this diligently every time, however it is not getting better but worse. They are willing to send out a technician at my cost most likely to do the same thing I have been doing and then tell me its working. One month later I will be defrosting my fridge much like people were doing in the 50s.After doing a little online searching I have found that my problem is not unique. Many other happy Samsung owners are experiencing the same issues across many different models. Apparently there is a bad design with the defrosting system. SAMSUNG does not want to own up to it. I can kinda understand their side considering all the troubles they have had with many of their products such as the washing machine blowing up (we have them as well) and the phones catching on fire. WARNING, dont buy SAMSUNG refrigerators.
Purchased my Samsung range from Lowes April 4, 2016. It was delivered on April 9, 2016 and installed that same day. April 9, 2017 - Exactly 1 year since install (but according to Samsung, out of warranty), I used the self-cleaning feature. Within 2 hrs (the cycle was set for 3), the front display panel went black, and oven stayed locked. After trying to submit a warranty claim, and finding out I was 5 days past the warranty, I called a repair company. The repairman told me never use the self-cleaning option as this happens all the time, it causes some temperature sensor to fail and can burn out control boards as well. Lucky for me he was able to disable the oven lock. Again something he says they cant always do and then the door has to be replaced as well.My previous range was a much more expensive DACOR and I used the self-cleaning feature all the time. The only reason I had to replace the range was because I dropped something on the glass top and the replacement glass was no longer available because the range was 16 YEARS old! According to the repairman its the way the newer ranges, like this Samsung, are now made and he told me again not to use this feature. Why buy a self-cleaning stove and cant use it??? I have had the repairman out twice (as he thought it may be the boards) and Im now waiting for the temperature sensor to come so he can install. I will never buy another Samsung product again (and should have learned when I replaced my Bosch dishwasher with a Samsung dishwasher and is also failed during the first year, replacing a 16-year-old dishwasher as well).
The customer service is horrific. The people are rude and do not honor the warranty. The temperature numbers on our stove started disappearing within the first year of owning the stove. They said it was cosmetic and not covered under the warranty but how could that be since you need the numbers to know what temperature to cook at. Not only is this not cosmetic, it is dangerous as it can cause a fire. A claim has been filed with the Better Business Bureau.
We bought a Samsung dishwasher (Model # DW80K705045) in March 2017 from Lowes, after 15 years with a Bosch. Looking back now we should have done our research. We would have seen all the bad reviews. Christmas Eve the dishwasher went into failure mode. “Leak in System”. Within a few days the dishwasher worked again but 3 days later the same thing happened. It took 12 days for a repairman to come and determine the problem. We were told it would be a huge job that required a full day, the dishwasher motor would have to be rebuilt on my kitchen floor, and no guarantees that the repair would work. This repair will require my husband to take a day off from work. Fast forward to 3/20 and we still do not have the part. According to Lowe’s the part has been in for 2 weeks now and we have not been able to schedule a repair. We are unable to use a different repair company because this is the one Lowe’s contracts out to. The dishwasher can only be run with few dishes and on short cycle. We don’t know when it will go out again. Numerous calls to Lowe’s and Samsung have gone nowhere. Neither company will back up the product. Samsung will not replace the dishwasher until 2 attempts to fix it have been made. Lowes won’t offer a refund because we have to go through Warranty service for the first year of owning the product. The Warranty is through Samsung. Totally disgusted and frustrated.
My husband and I purchased this Samsung clunker in 2011. It is bottom freezer type as I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and could no longer manage bending to reach contents. About four months ago, I noticed that the milk was not cold enough to suit me and thus began our ordeal. I can cut out a lot of detail, as it is so very similar to all the other cases, but it concerns the freezing up of the motor and fan in the back. This does not affect the freezer, in our case. The end result so far, (we have another part and new repair company coming in three days), is, after many repair calls, the thing sounds like a B29, but does nothing. I believe, with all my heart, that nothing will come of the new part, and we will be back in the same mess within a few weeks. The ringerreally was something that happened early on. I found a guy on YouTube who made a video showing how to take off the back and defrost the darn thing with a hair dryer! I dont understand, though I know nothing about how to proceed with this myself, why this problem is not cause for a class action lawsuit. Samsung seems to be getting away with murder.
Do not consider buying Samsung ranges. We bought an expensive induction range and had 10 repair visits within the first year. Nothing changed and there are still many problems with the unit. Despite many attempts to get the unit fixed, Samsung refuses to repair this unit. Stay away!!!
My most recent item is a fridge freezer 600 liter. Just out of warranty my fridge temperature kept going up. I rang Samsung and they were very good and helpful. The mechanic came out to fix the problem. He said that he had come across this problem before and that they have fixed the problem with newer models. 10 months later my power safety switch kept tripping out after the electrician and I spent hours trying to find the source of the problem and found it to be the fridge. I have had other Samsung products and have had problems. I would never buy or have another Samsung product.
I have a Samsung oven that should be recalled due to fire hazard. I guess Samsung is waiting for people to die house fires before they do anything about it. Money or profits should not be more important than lives.
Bought a Samsung RC 23 French door refrigerator about 2 years ago. I attempted to replace the water filter which I have done several time. The new filter was about 1/4 larger than the old filter and had the same part number, DA29. Contacted Samsung. They said the filter manufacturer changed the filter and that I would have to replace the filter housing at my expense as the unit was out of warranty. Neither the dealer or the service center had seen any notification of this. Samsung says since the unit is out of warranty its my problem. So now I have a $250 repair bill on a unit that Samsung knowing put out with defective/obsolete parts. Will not buy Samsung in the future.
I own a Samsung black stainless steel refrigerator. The ice maker stopped working a few months later. Never made a big deal about it but after calling Samsung they wanted to charge me for a tech to take a look. I did buy the extended warranty. Samsung has a class action lawsuit against them for this problem. They never made the American public aware of this problem. They insist there is no recall but acknowledge via bulletins there is a problem. I asked both chat technician and customer support why are we not being told and asked to speak to someone who could answer me. I was told no one could call me by Kit the chat tech and customer support hung up on me.I own about 12 different Samsung appliances. Disgusting how they take our money and then turn their backs. I am a hard working American citizen and I refuse to put another dime in Samsungs pocket. Their employees take joy on seeing fellow Americans used and I would never recommend buying Samsung again. I wasted 4 plus hours to be lied to then to be hung up on. I would recommend never to buy Samsung and I will make it my duty to rid my house of all Samsung products. This company is all about defrauding hard working Americans.
I bought the NE58K9500SG, slide in range in Nov., I would like to report a safety issue. The knobs on the front are too easy to turn. My husband and I are constantly turning the stove top on by accident with our body while reaching to the back burners or the cabinet above the stove or the microwave. We have young grandchildren in the house from time to time and I am worried about it. While we were hanging a backsplash the stove top came on and we werent aware of it. I really dont know what to do about it and Im trying to adapt to it. I love the range but Im worried about the safety of it. I cant give this a higher rating because I feel its just a matter of time before something worse happens. I have contacted Samsung support to let them be aware of the design flaws and I will update my review when or if I hear back from them.
DMT300 Dishwasher - Low water level error. Over and over since the machine was just over a year old. Most problematic appliance I have ever owned. Can fix it by cleaning out the level switch assembly. I have done this 3 times. Had to pay for a manual to learn to press HEAVY, DELICATE, and POWER together to get into the diagnostic mode. The manual supplied with the dishwasher is pretty much useless.
I have a Samsung Model RFG297HDPN French door refrigerator. Six weeks ago the ice maker stopped working. I removed the ice maker and brought it to a repair shop. They checked the ice maker and it was working properly. I contacted Samsung and they gave me the name of an authorized Samsung repair center. The service man came out, checked the ice maker and said it was fine. He then checked the water valve going to the ice maker and said it was bad. He tried ordering just the valve, but Samsung stopped selling just the valve due to water leaking problems occurring by just changing the valve. He had to order an entire valve assembly. The service man stated Samsung had upgraded the valve assembly four times in the past 3 to 4 years, due to problems. The new valve assembly arrived yesterday after being delayed for over 4 weeks. Eighteen hours after the new valve assembly was installed the ice maker has not produced one cube of ice. Contacted the service man again this morning and he is coming out on Monday and will try installing a new ice maker. Like so many other articles I read, Samsung does not stand by their products. There are page, after page, after page of complaints regarding Samsung refrigerators. A $3,000.00 refrigerator and the company has the worse service in the industry. Im now contacting my State government consumer affairs agency, and filing a complaint. Im also contacting law firms and hopefully will find one that will file a class action suit against Samsung.
Since purchasing my refrigerator, weve had to replace the shelving on both doors a total of 10 times at a cost of $41.00 per shelf. The plastic around the interior shelf and drawer systems has also broken. I researched the product and found the shelving was determined to be defective. I contacted Samsung to see if they provided alternative replacement shelving to replace the defective shelving. First off I attempted to chat with a Samsung representative, they could not understand English and I was asked to to simplify my words. I then called Samsung and was told they did not have an alternative replacement, they would not provide replacement shelving, they would not discount the cost of the replacement shelving, and basically notify me there was nothing they could or would do. I am a long time Samsung customer, and I will never purchase another Samsung phone, computer, television, or appliance from this corporation. The original cost of this refrigerator was $1,300 and I was told it had it should last an estimated 10 years, which is a joke. The problems started when 3 months after it was purchased. I work with manufacturers of appliances on a daily basis as a regional manager in the multi-family housing industry and have never had a company care less than the Samsung customer service agent I spoke with. To not even offer the known defective replacements parts at a discount is unheard of.
Called Samsung, would not replace. Had 18 techs out to try and fix the problems. 4 times we have replaced the auger, motor, ice maker, sealers, epoxy, defrost sensor and evaporator cover. It is getting ridiculous. Bought brand new July 2016 and it has not stopped having problems. Water leaking out of ice maker filling up canal leaking all over fridge build up corrosion and all over floor, lost lots of food. Top shelf freezing. Crackling, popping or clicking sound. Ice build up. Slushy ice comes out. Ice spews out all over. Leak in bins and under bins and on and in freezer.
We purchased this refrigerator less than two years ago. It worked OK for maybe a year and then the dispensing ice maker started making horrible noises, dispensing wet ice, cubes freezing together in the ice bin. I ended up simply turning it off and just using the ice maker located in the freezer compartment.Around the end of the first year, we began hearing an annoying clicking sound, which was caused by the cooling fan inside the back panel being COMPLETELY encased in ice.I research this model refrigerator on the internet and found a myriad of Folks having the same issues. For the next 3 years, I periodically had to either use a hairdryer for a quick fix or remove the entire back panel to de-ice the entire bank of cooling coils per instructions on YouTube from dozens of unfortunate Consumers who purchased this piece of junk.ALSO, there are MANY Class Action Lawsuits listed on the internet related to Samsung poor engineering of the automatic defrost function(s) of this particular model. In 50+ years of marriage, we have purchased 8 - 10 refrigerators for our homes and have NEVER had an experience such as this. Today, we took delivery of a new refrigerator. Suffice it to say, it was NOT a Samsung. Samsung should be ashamed to have placed such a poorly engineered product on the market. I would STRONGLY recommend that anyone reading this NEVER purchase a Samsung refrigerator....They did not stand behind this product.
SAMSUNG RS22HDHPNSR Counter-Depth Side by Side Refrigerator - Do yourself a favor, when researching what brand of refrigerator to buy, EXCLUDE Samsung from your list. After a year of purchasing this fridge from Best Buy, the unit stopped working. Fortunately my husband registered the fridge on Samsungs website and got an extended warranty of 3 addl months. After dealing with the terrible customer service and finally got the right repairman in, the repairman couldnt exactly tell us what was wrong with it. He said I think there is a leak so Ill repair that, but it could break down again today, tomorrow, next week, next month. That did not leave us with much comfort. So, here we are a few weeks later, and the fridge stopped cooling, AGAIN. Yet again, we are wasting our time explaining the situation to Samsung, then to have another service guy come out again which is scheduled a week from now because theyre all booked probably because they are trying to fix other lemons from Samsung. I dont know whats going to happen with this fridge, but my advice for those looking to buy a fridge or any appliances is DO NOT BUY SAMSUNG! Youll waste your precious time and money. Not worth it.
WE purchased a Samsung oven/range, refrigerator, dishwasher, and microwave 5 years ago. We have now been told, that the heating element part for our oven has been discontinued and not available. I called Samsungs recommended parts supplier and the part was not in stock. I called two reputable appliance repairs shops and they informed me that the part was discontinued by Samsung and not available. So after only 5 years, we need to purchase a new oven/range. It will not be a Samsung.
We have had our refrigerator for only a couple of years. First the ice maker broke. Then it started making this loud noise that would stop when we opened the door. We had a technician come out and fix these problems. This was only a few months ago. Recently, I had noticed our milk didnt seem that cold even though the temp read 38 degrees. The problem started getting worse so we reset the fridge by unplugging it. This made the temp gauge work again and the true temperature was 66 degrees! After having already spent over $300 to repair this new refrigerator, I am reluctant to spend more to get this new problem fixed, especially after reading these complaints.
I bought the Samsung RF267AEBP Refrigerator about 3 years ago and we constantly have water filling the space below the drawers freezing up and creating a mess. The ice maker clogs and then unleashes ice when the door is open all over the floor. We are disappointed in the quality of this product. We will not buy another Samsung.
I work for a Big Box Home Improvement Store. A customer purchased a Samsung dishwasher from our store with installation. Our installers installed the dishwasher on Christmas Eve, 2014. On December 26, the customer called and said the dishwasher was not rinsing the dishes. The dishes had a soap film, food particles and spots on them. The dishes were a mess. Our installer went to her house to see if it had anything to do with the install. No, the dishwasher was installed correctly.I then called Samsung and got the famous ticket # for my client. In the meantime she also called Samsung and they agreed to send someone out. He came out and just looked at the machine, not opened it or repaired it, just looked and said she was using too much soap. She called Samsung and they told her to purchase a special soap, she did, didnt help. They told her to use vinegar in her rinse cycle, she did, didnt help. They told her to rinse three times for every one wash, she did, didnt help. In the meantime I continued to call Samsung to get a repair person out to her house to fix the dishwasher. I have so many ticket # by now it is comical. Never again did they send a repair person to her house. Now her LE light is remaining on.The hours I spent on the line with the call center from mumble mouth world was terrible. The representatives speak in such heavily accented English you cant understand them, and you know they are laughing at you. I had spoken with everyone in the call center since they dont really elevate you to a manager but just pass you off to the rep sitting next to them. With each rep you have to repeat the entire story again. I got mad one time and yelled Dont you people know how to use a computer? I really offended them and from then on I didnt have to repeat the story. They read the notes in the computer. Each 45 minute call ended with a promise to send a repairman out. They NEVER EVER DID!Then when you call to tell them the repair person never called to set up a repair date, you get the famous ticket # again. Then I told them I wanted a return authorization #. Our store was going to take the piece of junk back and give her a new one. They refused stating She hasnt had three attempts at a repair! What? She should have had about six repairs but the repair person never comes. No RA# until three attempts had been made to repair the dishwasher by the Samsung repair person. Constant loop. Fortunately our store manager stepped up to the plate. She is to come into the store and pick out any dishwasher she wants as long as it is not a Samsung. Our installers will install the dishwasher and remove the defective one, no cost to her.
Over the last couple of weeks, I noticed tiny amounts of water at the bottom corner edge of my refrigerator (RF28HFEDTSR), right underneath the pull out drawer for the freezer. Thought it was just an ice cube that had found its way under the refrigerator and melted. This morning, I noticed the edges of my hardwood floors buckling up. Discovered water leaking from the top of the refrigerator that must have been seeping into the floor. Turned off ice maker and turned off water to refrigerator. Water still leaking from the top. Ive had to replace the towel twice within a two hour period. From what Ive read online, this is a very common problem with no real fix. Samsung, step up and do the right thing. Your product is defective. This refrigerator is less than 2 years old!
We purchased a new Samsung range just over 1 year ago. We loved it, easy to use and with the removable tray. It seemed like the perfect oven for our needs. I wish I had seen some of these reviews prior to our purchase. I have an error message E-27. The oven shuts down when this message comes up and it struggles to reach temperature. The manual tells us to throw the breaker or pull the plug to reset the oven. We did this and it worked for almost a week, however the problem is back and from the reviews I fear the worst. I thought this was a good product, but Im now wondering what my fate will be.
Terrible customer service. 7E report but no blockage. Service techs came to replace the motor. Didnt wait to see if it worked when they left. Still have 7E problem. This is after 3 weeks!! of washing dishes - thats how long it took for them to come.
We have had this range for 4 years and it has operated well. The coating on the bottom of the oven appears to have cracked and rust is forming which I suspect is from self cleaning. Samsung considers this cosmetic and will not cover this. The range still looks like it is new, including the racks. I cant seem to find anything online where this has been an issue with ranges.
I have a model RF24FSEDBSR/AA. The ice maker repeatedly freezes up, requiring me to take a hair dryer and melt the block of ice thats formed around the internal dispenser. I usually have to do this about every month. Then, I usually have difficulty getting the ice bucket aligned so I can reinsert it. The owners manual says if it doesnt line up to turn the helix on the back of the bucket 90 degrees and try again. Ive tried repeatedly (and not just 90 degree turns) and havent had any luck. I feel like Im trying to crack the combination on a safe! The bucket sits on our kitchen counter until I calm down and regain my patience to try again. Would not get a Samsung fridge again.
Broke down not even 2 years. Had to replace the pump. I researched and there are many complaints for the same reason. Spent a lot of money to replace parts. I would never again purchase Samsung appliances. Same problem with my Samsung stove.
I have a Samsung RF 217 French door bottom freezer model. It is only 5 years old. 3 months ago water accumulated in the vegetable bins. The repair guy came and hair-dried the frozen water pipe. Now, the freezer has frozen-up. I called the repair guy. He just came but said he could not find a parking space so would not be available!!!!! He said he would call and come back. Well... no way. Electricians, plumbers etc find parking. This is A&E Repair for Samsung. Really bad Samsung so I will not buy anything Samsung. I am trashing this piece of junk and ordering a new fridge.
The door in door refrigerator I purchased had multiple icemaker problems so after multiple calls to the service center they arranged to pickup that unit and replaced it with a brand new unit. Thank you.
This thing has leaked water for 2 years. Now there is ice coming through all of the air vents. The digital temperature control doesnt work. I called a repairman this morning and gave him the make and model. He calmly advised me to take it outside and throw it into the street. He said if I had a gun, I should shoot it. He couldnt in good conscience take my money in a vain attempt to repair what he called the biggest piece of crap refrigerator ever manufactured. I took his advice and bought a Frigidaire.
I purchased the Samsung French Door Refrigerator model RFG297HDRS in January 2014 from Home Depot for around $2,000. Since the first day the refrigerator arrived at my home it is very loud. The noise is so loud you have to leave the room. After several service calls, they replaced it with the Samsung French Door Refrigerator model RF28HFEDBSR, which was a smaller model and nowhere as nice as the other model. This model as well is loud. For over 1 year, 54 telephone phone calls, many emails, several service calls and unpaid days off; I am stuck with this refrigerator. The Samsung refrigerators are VERY LOUD and Samsung does not stand behind this product line.
Samsung was and still is Shelly known defective refrigerator. I paid 2500 for a refrigerator that started having problems right after the one year warranty expired. Now 3 years later still owe money on a non working refrigerator. Research and news stories show Samsung continues to sell these even after known issues.
I purchased the entire black stainless kitchen set Refrigerator, Stove, Dishwasher, and Microwave. After 3 week of use on the stove my wife made corn on the cob, she did her normal way of making the corn of a large pot to boil the corn in. Well some of the water boiled over which is a normal thing that happens when cooking. We didnt think too much of it since we have been cooking on a glass top stove for over ten years with our old Ignis Stove. My wife went to clean the top the next morn and she found where the water boiled over the glass pitted or pop little holes in the top.Samsung is denying our claim say it is do to Wear and Tear. Are you kidding me!!! Wear and Tear. When the appliances came in we found that the freezer pull out door has a small crease in it and had to have this order from the company we purchased the appliances from. Well five weeks later still no replacement door. It is really sad because I have always enjoyed using my other Samsung products and have been buy Samsung for over 36 years now. Well they (Samsung) just lost one of their best customers!!!
This dishwasher rack adjuster plastic pieces broke off. Doesnt clean and leaves food particles on items washed. Tried multiple wash aides with no luck, rinsing before loading, and small loads with no improvement.
We bought the range about a year ago. The convection oven quit working 3 months after we bought it. We just used the regular bake. Now it doesnt work. It heat up 175 and doesnt get any hotter. Its a lemon. That is the last Samsung Ill ever buy.
I purchased a Samsung dishwasher, model DD81-01549A_EN a little over a year and a half ago. It is the worst purchase I have ever made. The dishes do not come clean unless you wash them prior to putting them in the dishwasher (kind of defeats the purpose). If you have cereal bowls, forget about finding a good way to load them. The bottom rack tines are at an odd angle and hold some plates too close together. The silverware must be rinsed and loaded working end up, and dont put 2 spoons in the same bin. I followed all of the manufacturer recommendations for loading and running the piece of crap. It is the worst dishwasher I have ever used. A total waste of money. I should have spent a little more for a different brand. Will never buy Samsung again. Customer service said sorry, you must be loading it wrong. Dont waste your money.
My Samsung RSG257AARS (purchased 2013) counter depth refrigerator completely turns off (front display, interior lights - both sides, and compressors) when outside temps start to warm up. This happened 1 time approx. after a year of ownership, already out of warranty by that point by the way. During the cool months it never shuts off. Again a little more frequently the following year. Now the first warm day in April its already started again.I have tried contacting their Samsung customer service line, which they told me it was out of warranty of course, I would be responsible for all charges. The Authorized Service center would have to Diagnose the problem, I will have to miss a day of work $$. Then order part, reschedule repair, miss another day of work $$. Pay for all of this and pray it fixes problem. The ice maker has never been sufficient during the months when you need ice the most, this has been a constant complaint on many forums. Totally dissatisfied with this product and will never purchase a Samsung product.
After 1 year the microwave (Samsung microwave SMH19187ST) started beeping in the middle of the night, error code SE. Now the micro only beeps and does not work. This is Samsung Crap... I will never buy another Samsung anything, First time the plastic latch broke on the door (fixed it by drilling new hole in the plastic hinge area. This time its a SE code (like so many others). It needs to be recalled. I will never buy another Samsung.
We purchased our Samsung refrigerator 4 years ago as new homeowners. Towards the beginning of July this year, we started having issues with the freezer not keeping things frozen - ice cream melting, meat thawing, etc. After trying the recommendations in the manual and unplugging it to reset it per Samsung, it seemed like our problem was fixed... for about a week. So I called Samsung again. On July 21, a technician from one of their service centers, MidAmerica, came out and discovered our sealed refrigeration system was leaking (evaporator & compressor - attached is a picture of the evaporator; all the coils are supposed to be covered in ice and only the top one of ours is due to the loss of coolant)... he also informed us that the sealed refrigeration system was still under warranty (5 year warranty stated in manual). However, he couldnt fix it because he supposedly just moved to our state and didnt have the insurance/licensure to carry the parts... a little fishy, but he said we should be able to call Samsung and they will find a trained technician to fix it. Turns out - Samsung has no trained technicians for sealed refrigeration systems in our area, so they told us to find our own and they will reimburse us but only if the technician we found diagnosed the same problem... okay? So we call Mr. Appliance and they were fantastic! They came out on 7/30. They diagnosed the SAME problem but stated it would be over $2000 to fix it. They also informed us it was probably only a matter of time until our fresh food side stopped keeping things cool too. We were shocked. The refrigerator did not even cost that much to begin with and we also dont have $2000 lying around. So I contact Samsung again, spoke with a girl named Brady. I offered to email her the quote as well as our proof of purchase to show that it seemed ridiculous that we were going to repair a refrigerator under a manufacturers warranty for more than it was worth when we bought it. She put me on hold for a brief moment and came back to say we just needed to pay it and Samsung would reimburse us (mind you, there has never been anything in writing stating they would reimburse us... theyre expecting us to just go on their word). Refused to let me email the quote to them and also refused to let me speak to a supervisor about the issue. She stated a supervisor would email me... which never happened. In the meantime, we called Mr. Appliance about ordering the parts and they stated it would probably take over a month to get the compressor from Samsung... so my fiance calls Samsung to inform them of this. In our minds, it should not take a month (possibly longer) to get a warranty issue fixed! Asks to speak to a supervisor, on the phone for over an hour and talks to three separate people who are not supervisors and just keep saying its their policy to have us pay this exorbitant amount of money and expect them to reimburse us. We suggested that they just replace the refrigerator - they keep indirectly saying they will find a way to get the issue resolved. They say a supervisor will call us back in 24-48 hours... we wait 3 business days and havent heard anything, so I call them on 8/6. I spoke with Michael, who was very nice and genuinely seemed shocked that it was taking this long to get this fixed. He actually wanted me to email him the receipts and proof of purchase unlike Brady and stated they would be calling Mr. Appliance since they were the only people who said they could truly fix it. We were relieved. This was short-lived however because the next day they assign our ticket to MidAmerica AGAIN and some other local company (J&D) who had already told us they dont have someone trained in sealed refrigeration systems. By this time, I am irate. I call again and tell them to refer to the images of the receipts I sent, associated with the ticket number from my phone call on 8/6 with Michael. Gregory tells me there are no images with that ticket number. I felt like I was going crazy! These people are ridiculous. They are like robots every time you call - there is no history of ongoing issues, they close ticket numbers before the problem is resolved and just open a new one every time. They give you the run-around and obviously no one truly cares about resolving your problem. I submitted the images again and am still waiting on another phone call. If this product wasnt still under a manufacturers warranty, I wouldve been done weeks ago. It has affected our quality of life from the stress and time weve put into this and weve spent more money than anticipated on going out to eat and frequent grocery trips for fresh food. I feel defeated. I wish there was a no star option. It is somewhat comforting to see that so many other people have had issues with their Samsung refrigerators, as well as their customer service department, but also so unfortunate. I would NOT recommend any of their products to anyone at this point. I would never want anyone else to go through this like we have. Please consider this review (I know its long - sorry! ), as well as all the others, before purchasing a Samsung product.
I purchased a Samsung dishwasher in 9/2012 model # DMT400RHW/XAA from Sears. From day 1 the dishwasher would not wash my dishes very good. It would leave spots on glasses, utensils, & a white substance on plates, bowls, etc. I contacted Sears after the tub in the dishwasher was holding water & the dishwasher would shut off with the delicate blue light flashing. Sears advised me to contact Samsung Repair. This is when the dissatisfied consumer turned into Angry Consumer. I contacted Samsung Repair & they told me that I was assigned to a repair company to come out & fix the dishwasher (under warranty) at No Charge, but when I contacted repair appliance company, she advised me that I would have to pay for it to be repair. Then I contacted Samsung repair & told them what the repair company said so she then assigned me to another repair appliance company, but they wanted me to pay for the mileage for them to come out & fix the dishwasher. Again, I had to contact Samsung Repair about the mileage problem. After several calls to Samsung Repair, she put me on hold & came back & said her manager said they would pay for the mileage. The repair appliance coming assigned would never answer my phone calls or messages I left more than 4 times. They would call me at inconvenient times when I was driving & could not pick up the phone, but I would pull over & call back & the repair company again would not pickup my calls or return my messages I had left & the next day Samsung Repair department closed the repair order, without contacting me to let me know they were going to close out the repair order or to find out why from me that I could not get in touch with the repair company. I called the Executive Customer Relations department spoke to Keya & she advised me that the dishwasher would be repaired at No Charge. I sent several Emails to corporate office & Samsung repair several times & several days ago & I have not received any correspondence from Samsung either by Email or Phone Call. Please help me in getting my money back from Samsung. I have never owned a Samsung dishwasher before or do not ever want to own a Samsung dishwasher again. This is the First & Last time I will purchase a Samsung appliance, electronic, or Any other product ever again from Samsung. I have never ever had a problem with any dishwasher I have purchased before, Only This Samsung Dishwasher. Please, Please, Please Help Me!!! I dont have the money for an Attorney.
Where do we start. We purchased all new appliances for our home within the last 6 months. Within the first couple months a tech came to look at ice maker as wasnt working. Then we went away for Easter long weekend came home open fridge and it was filled with water and water dripping out. I opened the freezer at the bottom and all meat fish etc were all defrosted (frozen bananas were mush). Everything went straight into the garbage including items such as mayonnaise, etc with all the thawed out items also. What a waste of money. We called the brick were we purchased and they were sending a tech. They said wouldnt be for about 2 days but then they were able to schedule on next morning. (Tuesday). I called Samsung also Tuesday morning, advised of what has happened as was told they do not have a replacement policy, only a repair policy. I advised fridge now smells and a Eileen advised not their problem!!! And no one will come in and clean it. She was very rude. Asked to speak to someone higher and was advised she is the highest I could go. Head office does not take calls. Advised has kids and needs a fridge asap. Again she said I would have to wait. Very rude again as I am a paying customer and when large expensive items are purchased they should last longer than 6 months. When tech came he advised the compressor has gone. Part would need to be ordered and it looks like possibly next week before they can fix it. Unacceptable!!! Called Samsung again today. Again received very rude customer service and advised to bad. The fridge will not replaced and I will have to wait for someone to come repair it whenever they are available. No idea when. So I have a new broken down fridge and living out of a cooler with 3 kids trying to keep everything cold. What a joke... and also out over 300 in what was good food. I was passed around to 4 different people at Samsung customer service this morning. When you buy a product there should be a policy when it breaks down. Why should I be inconvenient and have to not have a working fridge. Think twice with Samsung. I have done recent searching and was surprised of previous lawsuits against them with fridges and other appliances. People will continue to purchase these items. They get your money then you are not a customer anymore. You are a number.
Purchased fridge new in 2015. Beginning in October of 2018 we came home to find the freezer was not staying cool and all the items in the freezer had thawed. Contacted a local company to come out and look which was very hard since no company wants to work on Samsung appliances. They found it was a seal system failure and quoted me $1093.00 to fix the issue I paid the man $100 for the service call. The repairman looked in the manual and found it was under warranty. I contacted Samsung and scheduled service. I waited a week and never got a phone call back to schedule a repairman to come out and look. I called back and was told the request ticket had been dropped and I would have to start over.So I again had to wait 24-48 hours for a call back and email receipt showing proof of purchase and invoice from company stating it was the sealed system failure. I waited yet again for a return phone call and had to call them 72 hours later. They requested one of their warranty technicians needs to come out and diagnose the issue before they took liability and could schedule warranty repairs and I would be responsible to pay the $99 diagnosing fee. I told them I would not pay that again. I had already paid a company to diagnose. Finally after having to be hateful and argumentative they found a company to come out and do repairs. They called me and requested someone to be at the house a week later between the hours of 8am-5pm. I paid someone to be at my house since I had to work. The repairman called me that morning and said he would be at my home between 1-3pm. The person waited at my house and the repairman never showed. When I got home and found out no one had came I called Samsung and they contacted the company. The company said they had sent a repairman out but no one answered the door. Which was a lie. I requested them to send someone out again and was told in order to do that I had to start the entire process over and get a new ticket number. At 6:30 pm an appliance repairman showed up at my house and said he was there to look at my fridge I asked him if he had came earlier and he said no. He was ran behind. So that company lied. The man was very curious when my warranty was up and kept saying I only had 4 months left. He connected the freezer to a system and added Freon to it. He started packing up his equipment and said he was finished. I said, You didn’t fix the problem. It has to have a leak if the Freon leaked out previously. He had no answers and left. I contacted Samsung again and told them the issue, how their repair company only put a band-aid on an issue and never replaced the parts or fixed the problem. Again I had to go through all the hoops only to not get a phone call back. I called them today and was told the reason I was not getting a phone call back is because they do not have a repair company who works under their warranty that can replace a seal system in this fridge. That I would have to find a company willing to fix it, pay them myself and they would issue a refund for my expenses to get it repaired. I asked for that in writing and they refused. I also was told I would be getting a refund for all the food lost but have yet to hear about that either. Do not buy from Samsung. Horrible company. Horrible product.
My husband and I purchased a white Samsung French door refrigerator (RF26XAEWP) about four years ago. Recently we are noticing that the porcelain beneath the water/ice dispenser has begun to rust. When I contacted Samsung customer service, I was told that the warranty had expired and that this was cosmetic damage and we would be responsible for the repair. I was given the phone number for the Samsung Repair Service for my area and that was it. When I expressed concern that this refrigerator was rusting after such a short period of time and that possibly the porcelain coating was improperly or inadequately applied, I was told there was nothing they could do as the appliance was no longer under warranty. So now I am going to have to pay $502.90 to replace the door. Apparently it is of no concern to them that I have to pay this, given the fact that we feel the problem was inadequate porcelain coverage in the first place. After 47 years of marriage and many refrigerator purchases (various brands), we have never experienced rust on the refrigerator. That being said, we will fix this appliance as we cannot afford to purchase a new refrigerator, but we will never purchase another Samsung appliance again. This refrigerator was purchased at Lowes in Kissimmee.
5 year old fridge. Ice maker cracking, popping, icing up underneath. Hundreds of dollars to repair. Forget THAT! No more Samsung products for me. I learned my lesson. Stick to names that are associated with refrigerators and other major appliances like Whirlpool or Maytag. Customer service means something. As many people having problems with the ice makers and Samsung isnt taking any action, I would think a lawsuit would be initiated. I want in if there is a class action suit.
We have had two awful experiences with Samsung. We bought our first Samsung French door fridge in 2016 and sometime while it was still under warranty I noticed the bottom of the left door was not sealing when it shut. Samsung didnt have any authorized service technicians in our area so they couldnt fix it. They told us we had to literally cut the cord and send them a picture of it so that we wouldnt be able to sell it or give it to someone else to keep using it. I told them I couldnt cut the cord as its the only fridge we have and we gotta store food somewhere. They finally gave in and paid us the value of the fridge. Which we then took and per the agreement with Samsung, we had to buy another Samsung fridge, went to an authorized Samsung dealer that said he serves our area and bought a different model: RF28JBEDBSG/AA/08. It worked great for a year or so until the warranty ran out and thats when we started having issues with the ice maker. It completely froze over, started leaking water out the hole when we tried getting ice and just completely stopped making ice. We called the dealer we had bought it from, they sent out their technicians to repair it and they like just some kids off the street who didnt have any training on such repairs. They took apart the ice maker and used a hair dryer to melt the iced over ice auger motor and ice maker assembly. While they were in the process of melting the ice inside the ice maker cabinet they heated it up too much, buckling the inside of the cabinet and melting a plastic tab up top at the back end of where the ice maker sits when its installed. So now the ice maker doesnt fit correctly. The technicians said they caulked the inside of the cabinet all the way around to seal it, but I could still see light coming through all along the left side. Couldnt really feel or see any caulk along the edge anywhere. They charged around $100 for this #repair! This only lasted for about 3-4 weeks and then started freezing up again. I called them again and they said theyd order us a replacement auger motor and ice maker for around $211. I brought it home and took apart my ice maker to replace it with the new parts they had just sold me. After all that hassle of taking it apart I find that they gave me the wrong ice maker! It was completely wrong. Way too short. I took it back and they gave me the right model ice maker. I then took apart my ice maker a second time and was able to replace it. This again only worked for a few weeks and then also started freezing over and doing what the original ice maker had done. Ever since Ive had to shut off the fridge, take the ice maker apart and thaw the whole ice maker and auger about every month and a half or two months. Ive contacted Samsung multiple times and they only tell me that its out of warranty, try to send out the same Samsung authorized shops technicians to #repair it (which I refuse to let this shop ever touch my appliances again since they screwed me over every time Ive dealt with them) or they give me a phone number to call Samsung to order parts to fix the ice maker. I am not spending any more of my own money on this piece of garbage and will never buy another Samsung refrigerator.
We have had our French door, bottom freezer refrigerator for about 4 years. The ice maker has never worked more than a few weeks at a time (I have to use a blow dryer to melt the ice build up to get it working again). Finally called Samsung for service. Repairman said Samsung should cover the cost because it is so widespread (class action lawsuit pending). I called to ask, Customer service agent said he had no record of there being being problems with their ice makers. We will NOT buy any Samsung product again. Less about the cost, which isnt small, but companys lack of concern or integrity.
French Door Refrigerator RF217ACRS/XAA - After 1 year of purchase from Home Depot, it started having issues with water standing in the crisper drawers. Well, I read the manual and thought I fixed the problem. OH NO THATS BECAUSE THE BACK OF THE FRIDGE HAD COMPLETELY ICED OVER! Every month I have to take it apart, after I notice my food gets spoiled, to get the ice off the coils and flush the line again! NO RECALLS ON THIS CRAP!!?? Everything has been replaced and it STILL freezes up solid!!! I am calling Samsung tomorrow because I have had it with the expensive junk they sell!!!
I just moved into a new house late last year and it had a fairly new Samsung Over-the-Range Microwave Oven installed. This was working fine for the last few months until one day, it started giving us an SE error on the display and none of the other buttons would work. Initially, this would go off on its own but would then come back and until one day, it came back and just wouldnt go off. We browsed the internet and found that there was a whole sea of people that have reported this issue and turns out that it is a quite common problem. The microwave has just passed its warranty and Samsung now expects us to pay for the service and parts if they fix it. Considering this is a common problem faced by so many people, I think they should do a recall and get these fixed for everyone. The model I have is SMH9207ST. I would not recommend anyone buying these Over-the-Range microwaves from Samsung.
Samsung is not what it used to be! Junk! And they refuse to do recalls on their items. Mostly refrigerators! Especially the ice makers! Garbage! Dont take my word. Just go to YouTube - put in your model number!! Over 3 grand later!! ** Samsung! Time to move on!
Bought an expensive Samsung fridge! What a piece of crap! One year old - told the noises are normal! DON’T BUY SAMSUNG.
We have had our Samsung appliances for a little over 2 months now. The appliances were installed by qualified tradesmen, and today me le light came on the dishwasher. We are not happy with our appliances and just watched market place and they got a lousy rating. I am going to try and get my money back. Never would I recommend a Samsung appliance.
Samsung continues to sell refrigerators with defective ice makers. The ice makers freeze up and get clogged frequently. This is a known issue by Samsung yet they continue to manufacture refrigerators with this issue. I wish I would have never bought my Samsung 4-door Flex refrigerator.
Since purchasing this fridge RF197ACRS from Sears Canada we have had problems. The ice maker needed to be replaced in the first three months. We have had repeated visits by the service technician because of water in the crisper drawers and ice build up under the crispers. We have followed directions in the manual and those of the technician to fix these issues without success. Samsung will not replace this appliance. It is now 3 years old.
I purchased two Samsung ranges in 2012 for my small cafe. I just wanted them for baking. I know any commercial use would void the warranty, but I believed I would get several good years out of the ovens for a 1200 dollar range. One night that winter 2012/2013 I was sitting at the counter late at night doing bookkeeping. I was baking at about 400-425 degrees, when I heard a loud pop and saw one of the ranges on fire in the rear. I grabbed the fire extinguisher and started putting out the flames when I realized these being electric just pulling the plug would probably solve the problem… I did, and the fire went out (I did have an awful mess of chemicals to clean up). I researched the problem on the internet and found this to be a common problem with Samsung ranges. I was and still am mad. For a large corporation to put such junk for sale, I am incredulous. Ive let the thing sit for almost a year, and am going to finally call someone to give me an estimate to fix, so I can fix or junk. I tell everyone I come in contact with not to buy Samsung anything. The other range is still used never over 350 degrees.
I bought this Samsung refrigerator RSG5FUPN three years ago and today I can testify that it was one of the worst shopping in my life (and I have over 40 years of experience with other refrigerators). It has many defects related to the quality of materials: A long crack (about 40 cm in length) was created in the inner wall of the freezer. At the bottom of the kiosk door, rust (corrosion) was spreading. The doors color faded and yellowed. Internal shelves and covers are broken for no reason (during normal use). Drawers have places where dirt accumulates and cannot be cleaned.
I bought a Samsung refrigerator back in Dec. 2009. For the last year it has been having issues with the freezer quitting and me having to hit reset and shake the tray. But it also has been getting louder and louder! It vibrates like crazy and now is making a squeaking vibrating noise! We have tried to figure it out, but nothing! I have never owned a new fridge and never had this kind of issues with old ones! I cant afford to call someone out and the noise is driving me nuts!! I looked online for other complaints and found plenty about Samsung fridges. I will never buy one again!
If I could give zero stars I would! Samsung customer service is jerking me around. I am have all of the issues the previous reviewers mentioned, ice maker freezing, leaking in drawer & leaking water at the top of fridge in back at the seam. I have to keep water line turned off & hope I don’t come home to a flooded floor. I called for service. They came out, said they couldn’t fix it & Samsung rep said they would exchange/replace it. I then paid $80 for the service call for nothing. That was almost 2 months ago. I have called Samsung 6-7 times. I am still waiting for their call which I am sure will be never. Each time I call I am reassured they will call me & it’s been about 2 mos. I am getting blown off & strung along. It’s a 3yr old $2000.00 fridge. There must be some kind of class action suit that could be brought against Samsung. This is so shameful that this huge company can rip people off continuously. Never will I ever again buy anything Samsung. If I happen to see someone in a store in the future looking at Samsung appliances or products I will definitely share my experience & dissuade them from buying anything Samsung.
In 2012, I purchased a Samsung microwave, electric stove/range, and refrigerator. During the first year, the control panel on the refrigerator stopped working three times. Fortunately, the refrigerator was under the one-year warranty, and Samsung paid to have the panel replaced each time. So far, I have had no further problems with the refrigerator. Within five years, the handle on the microwave pulled off. Within two years of purchasing the stove, the oven completely stopped working. The cost to repair was nearly as much as a new stove plus the repairman could not guarantee when the parts would arrive from overseas. I decided to purchase another stove and stuck with the same Samsung model as it matched the other appliances in my kitchen. Who could imagine (not me!) that within two years, the ceramic stove-top, for absolutely no reason, would crack and shatter. I can understand occasional problems with manufactured products, but to have all four appliances perform so poorly within five years is indicative of gross incompetence and poor workmanship on the part of Samsung.
My Samsung French door 28 cu. ft. refrigerator was purchased in April 2011 from Lowes. It cost $2,800.00; that’s a lot of money. I had a Samsung washer and dryer and a big screen TV that I was happy with, and was not aware of any problems with their refrigerators. The other day, I tried to get ice from the dispenser and no ice came out; just water. I called Samsung and they told me to reset the icemaker. I told them we had ice but none would come out of the dispenser. We cleaned out the old ice, reset the icemaker, and waited 24 hours like they said. The ice maker made ice but none would come out of the dispenser. I called them back, and they said they would send out someone to look at it, but could not tell me how much it would cost. For some reason, I did not purchase an extended warranty; I have it on everything else. About a few days after purchasing fridge, my brother-in-law died and my husband had a heart attack at the funeral so I did not think about the warranty about a week later. I called Lowes trying to get one, and they could not as it was a week later. Then I called Samsung, and they would not give me an extended warranty; so I have none. Now I am left with a $2,800.00 fridge with no ice or pay the high price for a service man to fix it. We are seniors, and you would think that the icemaker would work longer that than 2 years. I have never had an icemaker go out on much cheaper fridges. Sorry, but this sucks.
We have had our french door refrigerator serviced 3 times and need service again. First time was the ice maker. They have to replace the whole unit. Then the computer board went, not once but twice. Now the top half is not staying cool. For the price we had paid, this should not have happened in only 5 years. The repair cost so far has been over $1,000.00. If there is a class action against Samsung, I would love to know. I would love to get my repair cost and the cost of the unit reimbursed.
RSG257AARS/XAA - I purchased my Samsung side by side refrigerator in 2012 and the ice maker has given me trouble numerous times over that period. This last time, it would only make a tray of ice if I hit the reset button. I was told I would need to call a repairman. The service call was $79 and the part will cost $207 and will not be available for a week. I will not buy another Samsung product.
Three years ago we purchased brand new Samsung appliances for our remodeled kitchen. BIG MISTAKE! Within 2 1/2 years both ice makers in the refrigerator (model RF323TEDDBSR) stopped working. After 3 repair visits and a 6 week wait for parts to arrive, we paid nearly $400 to have the bottom freezer repaired. It would cost several hundred dollars more to repair the top freezer so we declined to do this. Today, our Samsung electric range (model NE59J7850) overheated and broke. We are going tomorrow to purchase a new range and it WILL NOT BE A SAMSUNG! We will never purchase any Samsung products again.
We purchased a French Door Samsung Refrigerator - model number RF4287HARS/XAA 2.5 years ago. We paid nearly $3000 for it at Best Buy. A little over two weeks ago the ice maker went out and soon to follow was the freezer and fridge. We called Samsung and after three phone calls of escalation they finally agreed to cover the diagnostic as an accommodation since we did not purchase the extended warranty. The repair guy has been here twice and has finally deemed it as non repairable. Each visit was over two hours and most of the time was spent with him on the phone with Samsung tech support. They replaced the CFAN and the main PCB but it still will not work. The repair company has sent 11 pictures to Samsung showing the error codes still coming up despite the repairs. Samsung is giving us the run around saying that they want the repair company to come back out. Not only are we out a very expensive appliance, $100s of food plus having to eat out mostly, we have lost countless hours on the phone back and forth as well as waiting on the repair guy. At what point does a company stand behind their product and actually take care of their customers? Samsung should be ashamed.
13 months ago we bought a Samsung Dishwasher: DW80F800UWS. Within the first 4 months it stopped working, displaying an error code 1E and 3E. Samsung sent a repair service, they had to order a part, which was on backorder (as a number of these parts were in demand) and we waited 3 weeks to get our dishwasher fixed.m Last night it fails again. Same error codes. Samsung says it is off warranty so they wont fix it. The service company, Totem Appliances in Burnaby, BC, says they only warranty the parts for 90 days. They wont fix it either, unless I pay for it. Likely about $300. So the $1,000 dishwasher that is only 13 months old will cost me $300 to repair, and no guarantee that this time the part will last more than 6 months. Wont ever buy a Samsung product again.
Do not buy Samsung Range/Oven. After a little over a year the top glass exploded. It damaged one of the burners. It never did heat properly from the beginning. Not only will Samsung not to do anything because it’s out of warranty but they can’t because they don’t make the parts for it anymore. The burners are no longer available and the glass top is on at least 25 day backorder. We bought a four appliance package from RC Willey’s. Microwave, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher. Microwave turns on when you when you shut the door. You have to push the stop button where it will just run all day long no matter what. Dishwasher smells foul no matter what we do. Samsung will not answer emails and their live chat stops working as soon as you describe your problem and they ignore you. Don’t buy Samsung appliances.
We purchased this product on July 27 2017. Months after we purchased it the ice maker started icing up and water started dripping inside the fridge. When you would hit the ice button you would first get water then ice would drop. The ice would not be totally frozen. Then water would drip out after you were finished. Three different times they have replaced the whole ice maker. On Nov 8 2018 they told our repair man they were going to do an exchange. Then on Nov 29 they had another company come in and fix it (3 time). On Jan 24 it started doing the same thing. When we contacted Samsung they told us it is now our problem. They are not going to fix it again. They totally lied to us about exchanging it. This fridge is nothing but junk and headaches. We ended up going to Sams Club and purchased an ice maker. You spend nearly $3000.00 for a refrigerator and you cant even have it make ice. Buy from a different company. They know they have problems with this refrigerator and they wont stand behind them. We will never have another Samsung in our house. Read other reviews on this. I know others have the same issue. We read them but we thought they had the issues resolved. Boy did we find out the hard way.
The good part of this fridge is it looks very nice but. I love the design inside. If you buy this make sure you take the 5 year warranty. You will need it. I bought this fridge 2/17 to replace a Kenmore I had for 20 years. The ice maker froze you all the time, right from the beginning. I had to get a hair dryer to melt the ice build up. In 11/19 the circulating fan started making noise for about a week then finally stopped. I lost all the food that I had. I called where I had warranty and they said fan went out and had to order a new one which took a week, now Im without a fridge. I got it repaid and thought things happen, no problem. Now 4/20, 4 months later same problem. The fan went out again.. Im 71 years old I had 3 weeks of food in the fridge I had delivered because of Covid 19 virus. I lost $250.00 worth of food. I cant go out because of quarantine. I have no way of keep anything cold.. I called where I have warranty. They came out next day and had to order the part. Its been 10 days and still no part and no fridge and no food!!!I went online just to see if maybe there was a recall on this fridge and found out there is a class action suit against Samsung for this exact unit.. I called Samsung and explained the problem. Not sure what to do. I called W.A.M.G channel 6 news to the reporter that did a story about this unit on 11/19 and how it was plagued with problems.. They want to come out to interview me and do a story on this fridge but with Covid-19 they cant at this time and told me to call Samsung. At this time Samsung has done nothing. Im still without a fridge and food. On Social Security, 71 years old and totally frustrated with this unit.. I would not recommend this fridge. Buy another brand.
The Samsung stove has a lot of temperature controls for different cooking. The convection oven performance is great, food comes out perfectly, and evenly, browned. There is a griddle which grills, also great for pancakes, bacon, eggs. Large enough to hold all at the same time. Yes I love my Samsung range.
The ice maker is poorly engineered as it stopped working within 3 years. (Froze up and jammed). We had a refrigerator repairman from a local reputable appliance store come to our home. It was $400 to replace the ice maker plus labor; we didn’t do it because the repairman said there was no guarantee the new one would work for long. Next the alcove where the drinking water station is located was not lined with stainless steel, so we have rust stains on the front of our white refrigerator!! Lastly, after calling Samsung customer service several times, they just said, “Sorry. Your warranty is up.” The refrigerator was $2,300.
I really like the style and the size if the refrigerator, the ice maker sucks. It puts out very small ice and it is wet ice, a lot of it gets broke up, dont take long to melt!
I remodeled my entire kitchen and wanted the best appliances. Samsung came highly recommended at the time. I purchased the stainless steel refrigerator, range, dishwasher and microwave. I purchased an additional warranty on everything except the microwave because I have had cheap microwaves in the past that last more than 15 years. Who would have known, 16 months later, the microwave would be the first to give me problems. I started receiving this error code SE and the manual states to unplug it and plug it back in. Well, I tried that several times and it did not resolve the issue. Finally, I called Samsung and was told that a service repair person would need to come out. Never once told I would have to pay for someone to come out and check it. When I received my call back, I was told there is a $90+ charge just for someone to come out and if parts are needed, I would have to pay for the parts and repair. I am so frustrated right now for a microwave, not just any microwave but a Samsung microwave to break down after just 16 months. Well, when I asked approximately how much would it cost to repair the microwave, I was told it depends on if they had to order a part and if so, what part. I am sure that this is not the first time anyone received this error code and surely someone from Samsung (the maker) can tell me what the problem is and approximate cost, right? I feel it is very unfair to pay and have someone come out to tell you that it will cost hundreds to repair, potentially paying more than I paid for the microwave. All I want to know is for other repairs related to this error code, what is the approximate cost and I will never refer anyone to purchase a Samsung appliance.
We bought our 1st Samsung side-by-side fridge in late-2006. Just after the 1-yr warranty expired, the twin cooling system froze in the refrigerator side. Recommended appliance repairman literally took a knife to chip ice off of the equipment. Had to call a 2nd repairman who completed it but discovered the touch screen didnt work properly (again not covered by warranty). In 2014, bought a 2nd Samsung (4-door model). Had problem with touch screen but when repairman came, couldnt duplicate problem. Of course, after warranty expired, housing for water filter started leaving debris (white substance) in the filter & ice & water stopped. Repairman said housing was a faulty design & Samsung was working to correct the design. Then he said the touch screen wasnt working either. After repeated calls to Samsung by me, the repairman & even my husband, the final conclusion from the manager was that they didnt have a record of the touch screen malfunctioning prior to warranty ending! So, like our 1st fridge (which we moved downstairs), we opted not to repair the touchscreen but did pay to replace the housing. This week I had repairman out for both fridges with identical problems as before. When filter housing was changed out in Sept-2015, it had not been redesigned. So... now $325 cost to repair housing & at least have confirmation it will be with redesigned part. Still leaving compromised touchscreen untouched. Cost to replace damaged parts on downstairs fridge = $505!Now if I wasnt smart enough to learn my lesson, when our washer went out we read consumer reports that highly recommended the Samsung appliances. Purchased them, immediately had problems - fought with Samsung for weeks and finally went to Lowes to let them know that their reputation was at stake because they sell Samsung products. Lowes went above and beyond and graciously took care of my problems with my dryer. Since that time I have received a recall about the problem with the washer. Sorry for this long. Review but Ive had more experience than I would like with Samsung and I do not believe in the quality nor their integrity. My advice to you - dont buy Samsung!
We put the oven, not even a year old on self clean mode and went to bed. There was a huge explosion and the outer glass shattered and blew 20 feet in all directions. Two weeks later we are still getting up glass and also have had small slivers in our feet and hands. There is a company tag inside the oven draw that states it was sold in Feb. 2013. The Model number is: JOVO7DDD201222A and the SN NE595ROABSR. The report transaction number is: **. The last one was: **. They first said it was out of warranty and then the last call they said it was from exterior blows. No service person has inspected the door or the thermostat.
Bought this item new in September and feel good if we get 3 washes out of 10 attempts. It constantly blinks in the heavy cycle and is basically stuck there. The unit will start up like its going to wash and gets stuck in a drain cycle. Theres no water in the tub - it just runs like its trying to drain. The problem is intermittent which drives me crazy as weve had service people out and the unit worked fine. 2 days later it was back to its old self - stuck in a drain cycle. Aside from this, it does not get the dishes dry and many times the soap dispenser doesnt open - therein the dishes only get rinsed. If I could only go back - I would buy the Bosch any day over this POC.
My dishwasher has a lot of features with options that come in handy. A heavy scrub at high temperature is very good with greasy pans. A regular wash is also very good for just dishes, glasses and flatware. So far I have no complaints, it seems to do the job well.
My refrigerator is 4 years old. Worked well for 2 years and since then I must defrost ice maker with hairdryer every 2 weeks and the defrost water accumulates under the meat tray and must be soaked up with towels. I will never buy another Samsung appliance again.
I cannot even begin to tell you about the awful experience Ive had. Ice maker stopped working on my french door fridge. Spent hours on hold and speaking with their cs line. Samsung sent 2 replacements that were damaged! So, I had to start all over with this company. I have yet to have a resolution. Do NOT buy a Samsung product! By far the worst customer experience ever!
I bought a Samsung refrigerator in 2011 and a washing machine/dryer in 2012. The refrigerator leaked all over the floor and the washing machine wont drain the water. Samsung wont fix, it is out of warranty. I want to know about class action lawsuits.
I just had delivered a Samsung side-by-side counter depth fridge. The ice maker took 3 days to make ice to fill the holder on the door. Water drips from the spout when you fill a glass with water. I have only had this fridge 3 days. The ice maker seems to be an issue with every model Samsung makes. I called customer service three times. I talked to even a supervisor that was not able to resolve my issue. Customer service does not know the operation of their products and had me on hold forever. I was told by a friend that owns the same model that the ice maker produces 7 ice cubes every 90 minutes, which explains why it took 3 days to fill. I also read the same information on a website. I took out the service plan after the 1-year warranty is over. Having to deal with Samsung has been nothing but a waste of time and a huge headache. I am still scratching my head wondering why they are rated the number one fridge on the market. I had an 18-year-old GE that I would gladly take back. It never had one issue. I just wanted to update my kitchen with stainless steel. I would never buy another Samsung appliance.
We purchased a Samsung SMH9187ST microwave from Lowe’s on 5/04/2010. Fifteen months later, we started getting the SE code and beeping as others have mentioned. We unplugged the unit and re-plugged and it worked for another 24 hours then started beeping again and showing the code again. My husband is attempting to go a little further and take off the control panel. Well see what happens. We are just so disappointed that you cannot expect an appliance with a cost of almost $300.00 to last at least 5 years!
I bought my fridge almost two years ago. And are nightmare start when are two doors fridge start mess it up. We call the support they told I have to call a repairmen. And the repairmen explain the problem is from manufacturer. So he explain the every time my freezer froze we have to unplug and let thaw and plug it again and it works, but we have to do it every two months which is headed we still saving up for another fridge but totally different brand. Now start making so many sound but I still dont know where it comes from exactly. So regret these brand. Should just stick to phones and not for appliances.
In the four years, since our Samsung refrigerator (Model RF261BEAESR) went out of its ONE YEAR warranty, FOUR of the six plastic door bins have broken, dropping the contents to the floor. We were NOT loading them up with heavy contents. The plastic is/was clearly not up to the task. I have contacted Samsung customer support, and spoken with floor supervisors and managers. They are adamant that Samsung has no responsibility in this matter. BUYER BEWARE. Samsung apparently does not care about its reputation.
Purchased our first Samsung fridge Feb 2012. 20 minutes after delivery, we noticed a cracked shelf. It took numerous calls and 3 months to get the correct shelf. In the meantime, they had sent 2 wrong shelves and a freezer door handle as a replacement part. In the spring of 2014, our fridge started to freeze up. It took almost 3 months to get it repaired. Again in November of 2014, the same issue arose about freeze up and the temperature settings were no longer readable. They (our retailer, Future Shop) finally replaced the unit. Two weeks in, yes you guessed it, water under the crisper drawers and freezing again. The unit was replaced (by Future Shop?) and a new one shipped to us. Two weeks later with the new one, the same issue has come again! Can this company not get it right?Through all of this, Future Shop has been a stand up company. They have looked after us wonderfully! We contacted Samsung and they said via email: we are not aware of any issues with our refrigerators. Perhaps they should read their online reviews??? We went back to our retailer today and they are replacing it yet again. This time however, we selected a Frigidaire! Enough with the Samsung product.
On February 4, 2017 we visited P.C. Richard and Son and we replaced all of our kitchen appliances with brand new Samsung appliances. In July while I was cleaning the glass cooktop on the range, which we purchased for $800, I noticed it was cracked. The crack appears to have started on the Rapid Boil burner and extended in all four directions to the edges of the top. I immediately contacted Samsung support, fully expecting that the damage would be repaired as the range was under warranty. With just two of us in the home, the range is lightly used and well cared for.The customer service agent asked that I send in pictures which I did that afternoon. I received a call from Samsung support looking for the photographs 3 days later – at that point I was told that the pictures would be reviewed and that they would get back to me. Three days later, I received a call from Williston TV and Radio Repair to arrange a time to come out to look at the stove. I expected that Samsung’s agent would be coming to repair the stove, however, when the representative arrived he took more pictures and told me to expect to hear back from Samsung in a few days.A few days went by and I was contacted by Williston and told that Samsung deemed the damage to be physical and as a result would not be covered under the warranty. I asked what the definition of physical damage entailed, and the definition I was provided was basically everything under the sun – cleaning solutions, inappropriate cookware, abuse, etc. In fact it seems that the definition is setup to protect Samsung even in the event of defect.Still in shock, I started to research to see if others experienced the same issue and I was surprised to find many complaints posted to sites online all had a similar story. I’ve attached some of the complaints along with our receipt to this letter. After finding that other consumers had a similar experience, I contacted Samsung to ask for a second opinion, I was told that would not possible so I asked to speak to a supervisor who told me that he would put in a work order for another opinion.Three days later I received a call back from Williston to setup a repair call – I explained that I was looking for a second opinion and was told by the representative that they were the only local Samsung agent and there would be no second opinions. Exasperated I inquired as to the cost to repair the cooktop thinking that a couple of hundred dollars out of pocket would be worth putting an end to this issue. I was informed that the cost to repair the range would be $400 - which is half the cost of range. Even if I pay for the repair, I have no guarantee that the replacement top would not have the same problem because I am convinced that product is defective. My husband and I have used glass cooktops since the 1980s and have never had a problem. The cookware we use has not changed, how we cook and care for the cooktop including cleaning fluids we use have not changed – and yet within 6 months this cooktop is completely ruined and is unusable and here we are in August and we can only cook using the oven and our microwave. I believe that Samsung has an obligation to stand behind its product and the warranty. I expect Samsung to fix the stove top or replace the range.
We purchased our Samsung Fridge in 2013 for $2,700. It was considered to be top of the line product. 2 year we had it the trays in the fridge started cracking. Very cheaply made. Shortly after that our ice maker started freezing up and ice would not come out. We called the repair man, he came out and defrosted it and replaced some parts. Within a month it was frozen over again. The more we talked to the repair man we started to understand this was a very common issue and the fridge would of been recalled if it was from another company. SO THERE IS NO FIX FOR OUR FRIDGE. So out of frustration I contacted Samsung and they kept pushing me off and telling me it was out of warranty. SO THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT! VERY INTERESTED IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.
I purchased a refrigerator cooling fan on Lowes Hardware. My Samsung refrigerator has had problems with its ice maker and cooling fan. The model is a bottom freezer with double doors.
I have Samsung Dishwasher. It was having problems of not completing the wash cycle during warranty period. It took couple of visits for technician to repair the problem. But it was fixed temporarily. After 3-4 months dishwasher has again same problem. Now they are telling warranty is over and they cannot repair under warranty. This is faulty product and have seen many customers complaining about same problem. Hope they had replaced the unit while had the issue during warranty or repaired it properly. Very disappointed with Samsungs customer service???
We purchased a Samsung Refrigerator side by side 4 years ago. In the last 6 months it has stopped getting cold, temp goes up to 59 degrees. The first time a local appliance repairman came out, told me that the fan freezes up. He unplugged it and thawed it out. Worked fine for a couple of months. Later it has happened again. I tried unplugging it and thawing it out. Did not work so I called a Samsung repairman and 1 week later he will be here. I will not ever buy Samsung again. Customer Service Rep from Samsung told me things dont last very long anymore.
