Owned a RF28HFEDTSR Samsung French Door for about 2 years and suddenly the fan in the back of the fridge started making a horrid noise as if it was broken. Opened the back panel to find that the awful design allows for ice to build up back there and clogs the fan and element. I thawed it with a hairdryer, and it was fine again. This repeats every 2 months for about a year. Fan wakes up us in the middle of the night (yeah, that loud). Take out all the food, remove all the shelves, unscrew the frozen-solid screws on the back panel, break the cheaply-made Styrofoam case, sit holding a hairdryer for 45 minutes in the middle of the night. Rinse and repeat. Absolutely maddening. Repair guys cant do anything to remedy this. Then the top icemaker started frosting over constantly and had to have a similar treatment every month or so. After a year of this nonsense, the fridge just stopped cooling altogether. Threw it on the tip.

I bought my fridge on February 2013, less than a year it made noisy sound and he got frost and stop cooling. They change the parts after I made many calls and living on hold for hours and let me without fridge for one week now. Same problem happened a month ago, the technician came and broke the ice and change the parts. It is OK for one week and I called again and he said I will send request to replace it. Then I called they said we will send another technician and he didnt know how to fix it and I am still waiting without fridge and I have to eat every day outside. And I have baby, I need to put the milk and its summer time. So I paid 2000$ for this fridge for nothing.

I had purchased a Samsung French Door fridge 5 years ago as it was the only model at the time that would fit in my small kitchen (17 cu ft model). As many reported, from the start, the ice maker freezes ice cubes together in the bin and cleanups are frequent. Secondly, the finish on the door handles (mine are white) just flakes off. I was told they would be over $80 to replace each one. I could live with those issues, however, my fridge developed the same water issue others noted. It collects under the crispers, freezes and makes a mess. I noted online this is a common issue and there are YouTube videos on how to repair yourself. Why must I do that??? Samsung knows of the major DEFECT in their products and one would think a recall would have been issued but basically tough luck.To others reading this, a cheap temporary fix for the water issue: Head to a local Dollar Store and purchase plenty of those drying cloths for cars in their auto section (they resemble camos). I placed one under each crisper and they absorb the water which freezes in them (and keeps out of your crispers). After a few days just remove, run under hot water, ring out and replace. Prepare to do that often until you fix this excuse of an appliance or replace it. I am going to junk this thing soon and replace with a Kenmore.

Very unhappy with Samsung dishwasher that lasted 18 months and 3 repair persons. All said it needed a new circuit board, which we ordered and the dishwasher still did not work. We trashed it and bought Kitchenaid and are very happy. We have other Samsung appliances and I am holding my breath. They are not great and not worth the money no matter what the sale price is. For your wallet and sanity, do not buy Samsung appliances.

Im envious of the other reviewer who had to wait for major problems after 4 years. Weve owned our French Door model costing approx. $2,600 for 2 years. Repaired ice maker 3 times and now it just gave up, spewing metal parts into the ice tray. The attached photo shows what you can expect to find in your ice. Samsungs Indian Service Dept. just says were so sorry, please upload photos and we will contact you. 4 weeks in, no response despite many phone calls. Do not waste your time calling Samsung service. Buy an appliance from a company that at least pretends to care e.g GE or Kitchen Aid. Too bad, it looks beautiful and has all the features we wanted, but its garbage.

We bought our Samsung French Door refrigerator with ice maker about two years ago. All was great until two weeks ago when the ice maker started leaking. The ice coming out was wet and just made a mess. There was no ice being produced in the freezer drawer tray either. Husband took it apart, found the tubing was frozen so he fixed that. We have ice in the freezer tray again but the ice maker still isnt working (despite resetting it and lower the freezer temps). We havent attempted to contact Samsung based on other peoples experience (that it was a waste of time). Disappointing since we too paid a ridiculous amount of money for the refrigerator. We also owned a Samsung plasma TV that bit the dust after two years. Done with Samsung. Also going to contact Consumer Reports as this refrigerator (and many other Samsung products) appear as top picks (which is what prompted us to buy this particular model).

I purchased model NE59J7850WS/AA. It was not heating properly and I called to have it serviced. When the service tech came out he stated that they had several problems with this unit and thats just the way it was. He didnt even have a thermometer with him to check if the oven was heating properly. After using my own thermometer he made a few calls and replaced the entire board in the back. Its working better but does not heat evenly. The newest issue is that the glass top is really hard to keep clean. Ive had glass top stoves before and never had a problem like this. We called service and was told if it isnt a manufacturer defect we would have to pay for the service call. I think the most insulting thing was she was trying to tell us we didnt know how to clean the cooktop. I will never purchase another Samsung product. I dont believe they are a quality product.

We bought Samsung microwave, to go along with all other Samsung appliances. We paid several hundred dollars for unit, and have been highly disappointed. Without warning, microwave stopped working entirely. We had all breakers tested to ensure the issue was in fact the microwave. Then, called Samsung Support. When we were told this wouldnt be covered by warranty *though they werent sure what the problem was, and advised we would need to schedule service. An appliance that you pay good money for, should continue working - and if it doesnt, it should be considered faulty by the manufacturer. Forgive me for not wanting to pay Samsung any more money for selling a bad product, being less than helpful, and no guarantee that even if they fix the unit, that we wont continue to have problems.Additional side notes: We used this microwave minimally, always kept it clean, and even advised Samsung Support that we just needed them to provide us a website - in order for us to refer to make the repair ourselves. Avoid the hours of wasted time if youve had your microwave over a year. And, in hopes you havent already bought a Samsung unit, read reviews of other manufacturers and the way they handle complaints, before making an investment. Had we done that, we wouldnt be shelling out hundreds of dollars for a replacement - our savings for Christmas gifts will now be covering malfunctions of something that is less than 2.5 years old. Thank you for your time.

We bought a house without a fridge and went looking. I loved the French doors and the basic layout of the fridge. Looked up the reviews on it and saw all the complaints about the ice maker. Thought that maybe the issue had been fixed. It hadn’t. Barely had it a year and had to get the ice maker replaced. Could only find 1 company that would even work on them. Took him a month trying to get the thing working again. Now here I am again 8 months later and it’s broke again. It has all the updates on it, less than a year old ice maker on it and when talking to the repairman he said that it’s a Samsung. It’s what they do. Tried contacting Samsung when it first went out and they told me that they were aware of the problem but it was past their warranty. They got their money so don’t care much if it works after they aren’t responsible for it. Do yourself a favor and keep looking.

On October 1, 2014 my daughter and I purchased a Samsung Dishwasher from Home Depot (Nanuet, NY) along with a 5 year extended warranty and installation. The installers took almost 3 hours to install, and just before leaving, told us that there is a slight leak under the sink - the leak was the dishwasher. This was a housewarming gift for my son. The dishwasher shuts off before completing cycle, continues to leak. He has gone personally on 3 occasions into Home Depot who absolutely refuse to help, says it is Samsungs problem. He has spoken with Samsung who refuse to replace and is surprised that Home Depot has brushed him off as they have. Samsung says they have to come to service a NEW dishwasher 3 times before replacing. They were supposed to arrive today between 9-11, and at 8:55 called to say they would be there 1-3, which meant he had to lose a day at work. When the technician came, he wasnt sure what the problem and spoke very little English, so had difficulty explaining himself - both Samsung and Home Depot continue to ignore the situation.

I bought a Samsung flat top range... $800... Huge mistake. I have had nothing but problems with the oven part of this range. It takes 30 minutes for this oven to heat up. (This is NOT right.) I have had it less than a year and when I called Samsung oh my God it is a nightmare. They tried to blame it on everything but themselves. When they came out the first time they brought the wrong part and they were suppose to replace the brain of the oven. That never happened. When I started looking at the reviews for this oven they are all the same. Many many issues for such a high price item that we pay for. I do not recommend buying this brand of oven. The warranty is a joke. I have images and receipts if this will help anyone for the future.

We have a Samsung refrigerator Model# RF266AERS/xaa that stopped cooling at 3 1/2 years. A certified Samsung tech (only one in SE Wisconsin) was unable to repair. The problem was in the sealed system which has a five year warranty. He contacted Samsung and took all the necessary documentation as he was directed and sent it to Samsung. That was 4 weeks ago during which time I have called and been connected to executive customer service seven times, each phone call a minimum of 40 minutes on hold. I have sent my sales receipt twice. They always have problems locating some piece of information but always give a new transaction number and a very polite vague excuse. I have called the certified dealer twice. They resubmitted info and the second time even had the regional manager for Samsung send it in. That was one week ago. At my last call on Oct 2, 2014... This is ongoing and I am now waiting again for 2-3 days. Mind you these calls are all 40-60 minutes long and it has been 6 1/2 weeks without a working refrigerator! It also appears from other submissions, this is a big problem with Samsung and others.

Despite the bad reviews for the Samsung slide in stove, I was smitten by the good design. Moreover, online specifications (since changed by Samsung, but I still have the original) offered a broad range of heights to fit a higher counter top than average. For the last 10 months since its purchase, I kept the stove top like-new, wiping carefully with baking soda if necessary, after every use. With no apparent reason, the stove cracked in the middle and NOT EVEN when in use. It happened literally overnight. A straight crack, it was deemed a heat crack (isnt this a stove?) and the warranty covered its replacement. Still, there should be NO excuse for any product to be so shoddy. I have read about multiple cases of other cracks, some considered the consumers fault, but I doubt it. This and other appliances with absurdly short planned obsolecence should be regulated and the consumers should be better protected.

I purchased a Samsung range a little over a year ago and also purchased an extended warranty for this appliance. It has a drip going down the front of the glass. I contacted Samsung and they suggested doing a steam clean. Obviously that would not work. Two technicians told me not to have the glass replaced that it would only happen again as the seal was broken. Samsung will do nothing as it is cosmetic and now Home Depot Extended warranty will also do nothing because of same reason. If this is an ongoing problem, we should have been made aware of this before purchasing. Also should have been told this problem would not be covered under the extended warranty. This is not a happy customer although I do like the stove. But for the amount of money I paid for this, it should not look like it does after a year. And how many times is this going to have to be done? Probably would not buy another - ever.

The repair man came and said just unplug it and let it all the water from freezer flow out for at least 24 hours; then, let it dry and plug it again. Its been the third summer with the same stupid thing. I was cleaning the shelf with the thin glass, the vegetables and fruit compartment with 2 drawers, and the glass exploded! Yes, it exploded! Purchased a Samsung French door black stainless steel refrigerator on Sunda
Purchased a Samsung French door black stainless steel refrigerator on Sunday (8/5/2018). From the moment we plugged it in the display flashes an PC ER code. After some searching online found a fix for it that didn’t fix it (shocker) so Monday morning called Samsung to schedule a service, because I really wasn’t trying to load it back and return to store although in hindsight should’ve done that, tech arrived Tuesday and did the same thing I had already done to try and resolve the problem which I explained to the customer service representatives I spoke with when making the service appointment. One would think since the refrigerator model and serial number plus the problem was told to the representatives the tech they send out would come prepared with what would be needed to fix it... sadly not the case. So 2 days after purchase and a service visit I’m stuck waiting an additional 2-3 for the part that should (but not completely sure) fix the issue. I’ll be calling customer service to cancel everything and just load the piece of junk back up and return it and spend a little more for a more reliable brand. I will definitely not be purchasing any other Samsung home appliances. If you like the hassle of purchasing something and not having it work properly by all means spend the money on Samsung appliances and enjoy the stress and hassle of having to go through a service call on a new product.

Just reached the 6th year of owning our Samsung Side by Side Refrigerator RM257ABSH which we paid nearly $3000. A&E (Sears) is the only repair option... I called every repair place and also asked for referrals to repair people they knew. The A&E repairman that found the leak in our coil was very knowledgeable, but the coil I paid for never came in. The appointment date came and went with no phone call. I called A&E, three or four times before I found out that their parts source no longer carries the coil and they had move my appoint from the 6th to the 20th of February. I called Samsung, since my fridge at this point has been down for 4 weeks and was given Customer Relations... after four business days of going back and forth between A&E and Samsung, I was told that the coil is no longer available and they would have to buy back my fridge. The A&E repairman during the service call told me coils are the most common problem with refrigerators... which means that when you buy an expensive refrigerator from Samsung, you cant count on them keeping parts past the 5 year warranty. The Customer Relations person told me it was past its 5 year warranty point that they carry parts. They offered me a buy back that is reduced by 10% per year. I could have fixed the fridge for $495, instead I trash a $3000 unit for a few hundred dollars... What a deal!!!!!The total repair cost by A&E was $495.00. I paid $185.00 down for parts and the service call. Now I am out of $1500-2500 for a new fridge and Samsung may give me a small buy back amount! My advice... Never, Never, Never buy a Samsung refrigerator because they may not carry your parts after the warranty. Their fix is to give you a few hundred bucks and send you on your way to your next purchase... which in my case will never be a Samsung!!!

We have had a Samsung refrigerator with French doors and all the bells and whistles for 4 years. During that time we have had 3 major issues, first with a lead into the bottom of the refrigerator and now the ice compartment freezes up and has to be unfrozen with a hair dryers, AND, worse, the fan motor freezes up and the refrigerator makes a horrible unbearably sound until I thaw out the ice in the back of the refrigerator again with a hair dryer. Only then does it decide whether or not the refrigerator part will keep cooling--usually it takes a few hours. We have had it with Samsung. Each time we called Samsung and it took a week for them even to call back, and then to tell us they didnt have a service person in our area. We are getting rid of this refrigerator. We had it for four years at our second home, so that we only used it 6 months each year. We did not get the extended warranty because we were warned by locals that we would have to wait weeks for service by Samsung even with a warranty. Looks like they were right. David in Ohio, I had the same exact situation occur with my microwave. It was made in Feb of 2010. But I did not take possession of it until Sept of 2010. I was storing a freshly made chocolate cake in the microwave when I came home from work to smell a horrible odor of something burnt in my home. I freaked out and began searching for the cause. It wasnt until later that I noticed the code for a short on my microwave. I unplugged it and cleaned the horrible mess out of it. Then I re-plugged it in and reset the clock and tried to warm up a cup of water. Everything worked fine. So I thought, ok, that was weird, how did it turn on by itself? Then as I was going about other business, I heard the microwave turn on.... When I got to it the message screen said it was cooking in Baked Potato mode. Now that was crazy! So I have been without use of my microwave for a few days. I began looking online for any recalls. I did find a similar issue recalled back in early part of the 2000 decade. But nothing recently. Then I saw Davids post. My situation almost EXACTLY!!!! I did also post a complaint on Samsung Supports Facebook page. They replied with a link for me to go to and complete with info for them to get back in contact with me. We will see. I hope this company will stand up and make good on some type of faulty problem with their product. I would hate to have to buy another brand. I already have a Samsung range and was looking at replacing my current Kenmore dishwasher with a Samsung. All depends on how they handle this situation. Obviously it is a mfgs defect. Not caused by anything I did.

Tried to cook a frozen lasagna that was supposed to take 1 hour at 350 and after 2.5 hours was still cold in the middle. If you cook something like cookies or a pizza it is OK because they have so little mass they dont soak up the heat but anything that weighs more than a couple of pounds simply overwhelms the ovens ability to reheat.Samsung made 2 service calls under warranty and the replaced everything but the problem persists to this day. I noticed they have discontinued this model and taken down all of the negative reviews but the issue of their ovens not holding temperature is not limited just to this model. There are countless other reviews mentioning the exact same issue. Samsung even tries to disclaim the warranty of merchantability in their paperwork, which is a joke since it basically says they can make an oven that doesnt work and theres nothing you can do about it.I would urge anyone to avoid SAMSUNG products. There is a reason they are rated 23rd out of 23 brands on this site for ranges and stoves. It is because their products are junk. I have filed suit in small claims court (fortunately my state has limits on the warranty disclaimers which invalidate it) and will be getting my money back one way or another. Then I will buy another brand of range. This one costs $2500 and doesnt cook food!

I am being fair and accurate. I bought a Samsung electric stove at Lowes in Henderson, KY about 5/6 years ago. I know you are thinking this has been a long time ago but the oven only lasted about 6 months and I cant afford to have it worked on it any more. I paid for it with a credit card so the original price of $850.00 was probably more like $1200.00. When it first quit working Lowes told me they had no records of me buying it there. I paid for it with a credit card and I find that hard to believe they had no records. Lowes has never been at my home to work on the piece of junk. I say junk and that is exactly what it is. I would not advise anyone to buy a Samsung and to make sure you keep all your records on what you buy at Lowes. Today is Thanksgiving and another year of not being able to cook my own turkey. Christmas is coming up soon and it will be the same way. I wish I had an oven for everyday use. I am like most people these days. I dont have the money to run out and buy another new one. HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone!

I purchased a Samsung refrigerator 9 months ago from the Sears home appliance store. Just over 3 weeks ago, I noticed the freezer wasnt cooling. When I called Sears, they informed me that a technician would not be able to come out for 10 days. If I wanted someone sooner, I would have to call Samsung. Samsung sent out a tech within 3 days who said there was a leak and more than likely it would break down again until they can find the source of the leak. Just over a week ago, the freezer stopped cooling again. I called Samsung and they told me that I had to get in touch with someone to repair and I would be compensated, but they had to be certified to work on Samsung. I called the same company that came out before, who, as of 2 days ago, no longer deals with Samsung and 2 other companies who wont work on Samsung at all. Im stuck with a $3000 refrigerator that was purchased less than a year ago with an extended warranty that no one, including Sears or Samsung, is willing to fix!!

I bought a Samsung side by side refrigerator from Costco 4 years ago. A week ago there was this loud motor noise coming off it. Then a few days later the digital display of the fridge started blinking and the refrigerator side was warm. Called Samsung, customer service very rude and just told out of warranty so no help from them. Thank God I bought it from Costco. Called them and explained my problem. Sure enough Costco just said return the item and they will refund me the cost. I will never buy a Samsung product ever again!!!!! I should have checked this site first.

I purchased a new Samsung refrigerator for my wife for her birthday. Without pulling out the paperwork I think it was in November of 2008. Purchased at Lowes. Had a repairman come out to fix it twice within the first year. It was icing up and sounded like a food processor inside due to ice build up around the fan. The coils were solid ice and the drain was frozen. There was water underneath the platter drawer and so much it would leak out and across the floor. Well seven years later Im still going through the same things. As I write this at 1:48 in the morning I cant sleep due to the noise the fan is making due to ice buildup. This is ** for what I paid. Ive found out about a class action lawsuit against Samsung but cant find any info on how to join. I cant afford a new fridge right now so Im stuck until the lawsuit is settled I guess.

I called on the service station, the person who was dealing said that you dont have to pay visiting charges but yes if something will be changed inside you will have to pay extra charges. Can anybody help me by telling the diff. between warranty and guarantee. He said that Samsung people are giving warranty, not guarantee.

We purchased the Samsung 3 door refrigerator in June of 2015. It started leaking water in July of 2016. Samsungs recommended repair company in our area has been to our home three times. Nothing theyve done has fixed the problem. The water has been turned off and disconnected and the line drained. After three water (or something) is still leaking into the deli drawer and onto the floor. We filed a formal complaint with Samsung last week, the only response weve gotten is that it was received. The guy who left the message said, You know, were a little busy right now. I will never buy another Samsung product. Looking for a class action suit to join, and found this. This gas range fails within a year!!! PLUS it has been a total nightmare getting service for Samsung products. I finally realize from other reviews their products for the home are subpar. Only 1/2 the oven has worked the full oven has not. Now I have a brand new range with only a 1/2 oven!!! It is my understanding from reading other reviews if you use the self cleaning feature it MELTS the buttons and the circuit board. Purchase a Samsung electric range May 2014, used the steam clean option on the stove - the blue surface in the bottom of the stove started chipping. When I called Samsung about the problem I was told if was cosmetic damage and its not covered by Samsung warranty. I asked to speak to a supervisor - was told someone would call me back within 24 hours. I have not received that call as of March 16 2015. I also purchased the entire kitchen package - started hearing a lot noise coming from the back of my French door refrigerator. I was told that they could not set up an appointment for a repair man to come out to check the refrigerator. The noise started 4 months after I purchased the refrigerator. Samsung does not want to fix or take back their defected products. Im going to get my attorney involved with this situation to see if he can put a fire under Samsung.

First and foremost, Samsung does not have a clue when it comes to customer service. Theyre blinded by their policies. As a matter of fact, they have a department that goes by the name of Executive Customer Relations (ECR) which is intended to be there to help with escalated issues and even the manager of this department who goes by the name of Prosper, admitted to me that there is nobody in the company that we, as customers, can speak to that has the ability to determine if a replacement product or refund should be made. You may let this be a warning, if you are reading this, that Samsung truly does not have customer service support if you come across any major issues with your products. We have had our Samsung refrigerator for only 3 months and within the first 3 days we had our first service call for a defective water system. Then 2 months later the same issue and another major issue occurred and they plan to take our entire unit apart, and rebuild a brand new unit. I bought a brand new unit and do not wish to have a rebuilt unit as anyone in my shoes would feel. Unfortunately because they do not have a person who can help, I want to be sure that you, the consumer, has the chance to be forewarned about the reality of the customer service in this company. At the end of the day, there are multiple reviews about Samsung quality issues and service issues. Trust what you read as I wish I did when I was shopping for this. I love their TVs as I have a few and have not had issues, but their appliances are not their strong point. Just be careful with Samsung and really think about if you want to deal with this. They have only 1 star on this Consumer Affairs page, which should speak for itself.

I have a Samsung flat screen TV (46in) that stopped working as soon as the warranty was up. A Samsung washer that cost close to $900 and it works but 1 month after purchase the door lock broke, fortunately my husband is very handy and improvised a lock with Velcro tape because the service people would charge us $75.00 just to come out and finally my refrigerator a side by side Samsung is now not cooling, while the freezer is working but the thing is only 18 months old. I thought that this was a competitive brand, but I wont be buying anything Samsung again. I should have stayed with Maytag and Sony.

My husband and I needed a new refrigerator, after our Kenmore finally bit the dust. We opted to try a different brand, Just because, I guess we wanted a change. We went to the big-box appliance store, hoping to find something fabulous! The salesman was pleasant enough, and he seemed to be knowledgeable about all of the brands they carried. We really seemed impressed with the Samsung. It was super bright, as it was really well lit on the inside. He touted the greatness of the Cooling Door feature, telling us it would keep our milk, OJ, etc nice and cold, and offer easy access so we wouldnt have to open the whole door to get our most-used items. Its never an easy task figuring out how an empty refrigerator will work when you load it up at home.It wasnt a good thing, when the repairmen had to order a new door the day it got delivered, as it was non-functioning for the water/ice. It also was damaged, so I should have known we were in for it! Ive had the repair techs out 4 more times in 2 years. The thermostat will not keep a steady temp. It either freezes everything, or it gets dangerously warm! We lost an entire refrigerator/freezers worth of food to excessive warmth. I spoke with Samsung directly, and the rep told me to take all of the spoiled food out of the garbage, photograph it and send the photos to them! WHAT??!! It was right in the middle of the summer! No way were we going trash-picking! I purchased 2 thermometers specifically for refrigerators/freezers to monitor the temp. Never consistent... The ice dispenser leaks water down the front of the fridge, so I have to keep a washcloth on the cup holder shelf. The front of the refrigerator is stained from the water on the stainless steel all the time. The inside has a crack right where you open the door. The freezer is horrible to utilize. The top drawer doesnt pull all the way out, so you cannot reach things easily. Because of the ice maker/dispenser, the inside shelves of the door hardly hold anything! Im betting I am forgetting even more of the items that have been plaguing us since this unit was delivered. One repair tech even told me I should consider putting it out in the driveway for a garage sale, hoping someone would unload it from me! Please dont consider Samsung! They make great electronics, but appliances? NO WAY! I have a stove from Samsung that I shall also submit a review for as well.

I recently bought a Samsung refrigerator not because I needed a refrigerator, but because my wife wanted a Samsung refrigerator. Immediately after getting the refrigerator it started making an irritating noise. A serviceman was sent out, after calling Samsung twice. The service man said the refrigerator needed replaced. Fast forward to two months later. Samsung never calls you back. Four times after many calls each time Samsung approved an exchange. Four times someone called - the only calls Samsung made, to inform us the exchange was being cancelled. Really? It seems their plan is to wear you down. Now I am in the process of filing a complaint to the BBC and the state of California. Save yourself a ton of grief. Buy an LG.

Samsung has created a line of refrigerators that are defective and wont create a permanent fix for them. When I called to speak with a service tech they sub out to technicians local to consumers who dont work for Samsung but contract with them to repair their defective appliances. So, they couldnt offer me any guidance or reassurance the problem would be fixed. They told me not to go anywhere for two days because they would put in my service request. Apparently, their service company dropped the ball, never called so when I called on the second day, they said they had called me? They said to come out was 90.00, the repair was 100.00 and the parts were separate but they couldnt tell me what that would cost. I asked if this patch (repair) would permanently fix the problem, and they said they put a 90-day warranty on it and that is the best they can offer and they wouldnt allow me to speak to a service technician to have my questions answered.

This refrigerator has been nothing but a problem. After 3 years, we had to entirely replace the ice maker for over $200 in repairs (not covered by warranty). After 5 years, we had to repair the water dispenser. At exactly, 5 years and 4 months, the freezer died, 1 week later, the refrigerator died. It is out of warranty and Samsung does not provide any support. In our county, there is no longer a Samsung certified repair shop. No one will even touch it. Samsung finally referred us to A&E factory service, more than 40 miles away. They came out to do the diagnostic today (2 weeks after the freezer failed). The repairs for the broken evaporator are over $700. This was a $1,500 fridge purchased at Best Buy. Samsung has been very disappointing. They are not willing to cover anything or provide product support. Will not buy from them again.

Then get handed off to someone who will get to the bottom of this and never calls back. Get through to same number, guess what... No record of my call but they will get right on it... Keep asking me to use my extended warranty vs admitting it is a defect. Ice maker completely freezes up, stop working leaks... shorts out the board on the deli drawer... replaced 3 times wont stop making alarm sounds from door... 3 ice makers later still same issue... Repair man said, this fridge keeps us in business. Seal is a joke and repair parts already more than a new fridge but Samsung has paid $0.00 so they dont care. We bought the fridge for the ice maker as our son has severe medical condition and his meds/foods need icing at all times. This just sucks for over $3000.00 refrigerator. About one year after I purchased my Samsung dishwasher (DMT800RHS), we began getting error messages and problems with dishes. We had a Samsung authorized tech come out at $250 expense to ourselves and he found a bunch of plastic pieces the color of the racks in the pump impeller. Nearly 6 months later, we had the same issue and had a local tech come out. For another $75, he retrieved the same rack colored pieces of plastic out of the pump. Tonight, we had a third tech come out and retrieve more rack pieces out of the pump. I have attached photos of the rack adjuster, where every plastic attachment is broken on both sides. These have broken during operation. I hope this review helps someone choose carefully when purchasing a dishwasher, and avoid the headache that we have been dealing with.

I bought a Samsung dishwasher at Home Depot last year. It was on sale, all stainless inside and seemed like a great deal. It worked a couple of times then quit... lights flashing and stinky water remaining in the basin. Home Depot responded quickly and sent someone out twice to repair it then finally sent me an email saying it was not fixable. They gave me a full refund. But, I am stubborn and was determined to fix it. Sometimes it worked thru a full cycle and sometimes it did not. I would have to push a couple of buttons to get it to drain afterward. After months of troubleshooting it finally works for me every time. The key is a balanced load. When you put a dinner plate on one side of the rack you must put the next dinner plate on the other side. Same with the top rack. Equal weight on both sides of the carriages is the trick. It sounds like a pain in the you-know-what but it works for me and I feel like a winner! :)

We purchased this dishwasher in April 2015, but did not have it delivered to us until June when our kitchen was completed. The first dishwasher to arrive was damaged. Had a bent door frame so the door would not close. The company we purchased these from (PC Richards) replaced the dishwasher and a new one was sent. In December 2015 and exactly 6 months from when dishwasher was installed it is no longer cleaning the dishes or drying them. We had a tech come out and it was determined that the heating element was bad. We also showed him a broken wheel on the lower rack. Tech said he would order parts. The parts came in and the tech was here to fix the issue. However, the wrong wheels were sent. To this day we are still without the proper wheels. Also, we have had 3 service calls since the new heat element was installed and still dealing with the dishwasher not cleaning or drying the dishes. The tech made a call to Samsung and they did some tests and it showed the dishwasher is functionally normal with no issues. So here we are with a dishwasher that is only 6 months old not working!! This dishwasher is garbage.

As many of us do I bought my Samsung four door refrigerator on sale at Lowes. I paid $1,800 for a nearly $3,500 unit. I thought I was getting an awesome deal. I started having odor issues with this dishwasher (Model DW80F600) not even a month after purchasing it on 5/25/14. Ive had 6 techs out to look at it and they recommend things like changing the detergent, running the hot water, using Jet Dry, etc. to re-plumbing through the garbage disposal. Ive complied with all of their suggestions. No parts were ever replaced on the unit and the one part that the 6th tech is saying should be replaced Samsung is stating that its a customer maintenance issue and claiming that Ive never cleaned the dishwasher and damaged it. To make a really long story short - its now 5/6/15 and Im being denied service on it because its in Samsungs system that Ive damaged it and its a customer maintenance issue. Never mind the fact that its been an ongoing issue for nearly a year.Ive provided Samsung with the bill of sale, all the receipts of service with tech notes on them, etc. The service notes that I received from Lowes were different than the physical receipts that I have. The techs are claiming to have replaced two parts on the unit & also making statements that are untrue - like Ive never cleaned it. I bought Dishwasher Magic on 12/24/14, which is in both my receipts & the notes I received from Lowes (who handled my first 5 service calls). Every time I talked to a Samsung rep its another story all with the same ending - they cant/wont help me.I received the technician notes (from Lowes) from the service requests that I starting in July 2014. I have attached those notes, along with the service receipts as well as a scanned image of the seal sump part & packing that it came in. This SHOULD be proof that either the technicians or someone at Samsung is LYING about what they have done to service our dishwasher. This is all due to a foul odor that has been going on beginning less than two months after purchase. I would like for Samsung to replace the bottom door gasket under warranty, replace the dishwasher (if its not fixable), OR at the very least authorize another service technician to come out, preferably a manager, to assess the dishwasher AGAIN under warranty. Samsung is claiming that Ive damaged my dishwasher & never cleaned it and therefore are unwilling to replace the bottom door gasket or allow for another service tech to come inspect our dishwasher. Here are the things that Id like to point out. The service appointment from Brand Source states that they put in parts. Id like to know what part they are claiming to have ordered and installed and ask how, since this is our first service, did they know to order that part and have it ready for installation? This is a complete lie - no part(s) were purchased or replaced on the dishwasher. I was told that we should re-plumb through the garbage disposal, try Jet Dry, and run it every couple days. Both of those suggestions were taken. We also ran the dishwasher empty with a cup of vinegar. Those suggestions and CLEANING from July (not 2 months into owning it) didnt work so we placed another service call. The initial tech from A&E came and decided that the tub/sump gasket needed to be replaced so he ordered the part. I have attached (Seal Sump) which is an actual scan of the packaging which was shipped 12/18/14 as well as the scanned image of the seal sump (product #DD62-00050A) still in the bag which I STILL have because it was never replaced as the tech notes are claiming to have replaced on 12/24/14 when in all actuality that tech (who was a different one than the one that ordered the part) said the gasket wasnt bad and that I should try Dishwasher Magic. I bought Dishwasher Magic and the tech put it in and ran started the dishwasher - therefore this was the second cleaning. It was recommended to us to try pod style detergent vs. liquid and to run the hot water in the sink, make sure its good-n-hot, then start the dishwasher. Both of those suggestions were taken and it still hasnt solved the issue. The last service on 4/8/14 performed by One Stop Appliance is completely off base. The tech notes (attached) stated that we need the bottom door gasket replaced and that he would get in touch with Samsung to order the part. I received a phone call from ** on 4/9/14 letting me know that Samsung wont authorize replacement of the part claiming its a customer maintenance issue. The tech notes indicate that I called Samsung and use the words food build up. How can the tech notes reflect something that hasnt even happened yet - my calling didnt occur until 4/9 - service was performed on 4/8. They also state that this is an issue due to never cleaning. Given that Ive provided at least 2 examples, one with a receipt, of times that Ive cleaned the dishwasher - this is just a false statement. In calling Samsung to try to get this issue resolved this has escalated from we have food particles in the dishwasher to we have damaged the dishwasher. The Samsung user manual states: CLEANING THE INTERIOR. Clean the interior of your dishwasher periodically to remove any dirt or food particles. Wipe the inside of the dishwasher and the inner part of the door with a wet dishcloth. We recommend filling the detergent dispenser with dish detergent, and then running the dishwasher empty periodically using either the Normal or Quick cycle with the sanitize option. This will keep your dishwasher clean. If white spots and odor are still present in your dishwasher, run the Normal cycle with the dishwasher empty and without detergent until it ushes. Then, interrupt the cycle and put an 8 ounce cup of white vinegar into the lower basket. Close the dishwasher and let the cycle finish. Do not remove the tub front seal (the long rubber seal enclosing the opening of the dishwasher).I HAVE performed periodic cleanings of the dishwasher and it still has a foul odor. I also rinse ALL my dishes before putting them in the dishwasher, and I wipe down excess water that gets on the door before closing it. This odor can begin within 24 hours of running a cleaning cycle. How is that a customer maintenance issue? Also, some of the phone reps have told me that notes indicate that there are food particles left in the dishwasher. If this is true then why? Shouldnt the dishwasher be rinsing, cleaning, and drying the dishes and therefore the tub? A particle is: From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: A particle is a minute fragment or quantity of matter. [1] In the physical sciences, the word is used to describe a small localized object to which can be ascribed several physical or chemical properties such as volume or mass; subatomic particles such as protons or neutrons; and other elementary particles. [2] The word is rather general in meaning, and is refined as needed by various scientific fields. Something that is composed of particles may be referred to as being particulate. [3] However, the term particulate is most frequently used to refer to pollutants in the Earths atmosphere, which are a suspension of unconnected particles, rather than a connected particle aggregation.IF I have food particles in the dishwasher how is a minute fragment causing such an odor that I have been calling for service on the dishwasher since 7/18/14? In addition if this were a customer maintenance issue then why has it been an issue since a month after the purchase date? And in performing all the technician suggestions it still hasnt resolved the issue? I have filed with the BBB and here is their second response after I contested their first response. Still clearly not paying attention to the facts and still not willing to help. Heres Samsungs official response: Ms. **, Thank you for providing the additional information regarding your claim. Samsungs product team has evaluated all new and existing documentation available on your claim. The warranty coverage remains unchanged. Although Samsung cannot pinpoint the cause, a few examples for the odor are: infrequent cleanings, excessive food residue, the drain hose is connect to the garbage disposer, from which food can get backup into the drain hose. What would not be contributing to the odor is mechanical or part failure and the Limited Warranty only covers product malfunction or defect. There is no such evidence.I understand there were was added concerns about the part that was order but not installed. This was noted but this part nor changing it would address the symptom. With our apologizes, warranty will not be covering the cost of any further repair requests to address the odor symptom. Thank you.

Bought this RF261 French door/bottom drawer fridge and dishwasher in same style in Sept 2012. Within a month or so we found accumulated water in the drip pan under at the bottom of the fridge. Now the ice maker has failed and consumer service fix (reset button) did not work. Dishwasher does not clean well even with pre-rinse and accumulates sludge under door. No more Samsung products for me!Updated on 12/28/2015: We found only two appliance technicians in our area who would work on a Samsung; one had to come 70 mi. one-way, and the other was Sears. The Sears technician quoted a price of nearly $900 to repair these two problems. We also bought a matching Samsung dishwasher, and although it works, it doesnt clean well, and the door gasket collects food debris and stinks. Since both are out of the warranty period, Samsung wont do anything. I will, though: Ill never buy a Samsung product again.

I cannot believe our expensive French door refrigerator (purchased from Home Depot in November 2014) has disappointed me so much. In common with so many of the reviews, we have no ice maker. It took over a month to get an official Samsung repair person to come and his verdict is that he knew exactly what the problem was, had seen it in so many other of the same model refrigerators and quoted me $800 to repair, and said I might as well get to know him, because it would break again. The back of the unit is frozen and the fans cannot work properly. I thought this was a reputable company with quality products. I will never buy a Samsung again. Save yourself much time and frustration and stay away from this product!

The warranty is up in our fridge and the light bulb has gone out. Im unhappy with Samsung appliances, and do not recommend buying any of their products. As soon as the warranty expires, the appliance falls apart. And they will not fix it. They want more money from you, after spending $2,000.00 on a fridge! The first day I bought it, the handle fell off!! It was still under warranty, but they wanted to charge me $150.00 for a service repair. I called Home Depot, where I purchased it, and they showed up the same day. Home Depot fixed it with no additional fee. Hooray for #HomeDepot! They stand for their service.

We purchased the Samsung Dishwasher to match our other Samsung appliances, both of which we have never had an issue with. The washer has broken once on month for the year we have had it. We have had innumerable service calls. They have replaced the main board twice. Everything from the pump to the latch have been replaced. Multiple error codes, the machine never works. We are always hand washing dishes, either because we are waiting in service, or if the machine is working you have to wash them before you put them in the dishwasher, per our service man, our dishes were too dirty. Or you have to wash them when they come out of the dishwasher because they are dirtier than they were when you put them in. The dishwasher recirculates the nasty water, evenly distributes it around to all your dishes and then bakes the dirt on in the heated dry cycle. Our friends have a 1990 broke down dishwasher. The door wont shut on. It sound like street sweeper, but it gets the dishes cleaner than our Samsung. What a shame! Our factory warranty is a service warranty, they will just keep fixing it till the service tech deems in unrepairable. You would think someone would have the sense to replace the machine and cut costs. Sounds like even if they did I would still have issues.

I purchased a Samsung convection range/oven on 5/30/2014 from Best Buy for $770. I dont do a great deal of baking, but mostly casseroles, meats, etc. I believe baking cakes or cookies would have tipped me off earlier that the oven wasnt heating right. Over the last few months I noticed that it was taking much longer than usual for the food to cook. One evening when I opened the door to pull out a chicken casserole, the chicken was raw inside and the rice was crunchy. The oven was set at 400 degrees but I could hold my hand in the oven and it only felt warm. I am going to buy a new oven and you can be sure it wont be a Samsung. As a note, I also purchased a Samsung dishwasher which is 3-years old and Ive already replaced the pump and it looks like it needs to be replaced again.

Originally posted earlier this month. Followed Samsungs advice and defrosted refrigerator for 36 hours, with fan blowing on it. Checked to make sure all ice buildup had cleared. Turned on, ran fine, icemaker even working again. Now several days later, ice maker is stopping and probably means another complete defrost. Do not buy Samsung Refrigerators, ITS ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT HOW PEOPLE ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEM WITH ICING UP AND NOISE. They dont seem to have a fix. Terrible, 5 years old $2000+ refrigerator and nothing but problems.Updated on 06/16/2018: I have contacted Samsung and searched the web. My 5 yr old refrigerator keeps freezing up and the fan starts making a loud noise. Only resolution Samsung has offered is to defrost the refrigerator. Really, its a self defrosting, yet now we have to unload and let it thaw out 2-3 times a year. This problem with their refrigerators is noted by numerous people on the internet, yet Samsung offers no remedy and it appears this problem occurs with many of their refrigerators going back several years. This company is selling numerous refrigerators and should fix the problem or offer real solution.

This was the first time I purchased an appliance online without actually seeing the product. It will also be the last. I was disappointed with the inside organization of this fridge. There could have been much better use of the door spaces. They are underutilized. The size of the auto fill pitcher is deceiving, the freezer is small. I looked at the distentions prior to purchase but they sure do look smaller in person. The size of this refrigerator is larger than the one it replaced but it holds far less because of the design. After several calls to Samsung, a service technician came to our house to repair the machine. At this time, the technician reported back to Samsung that the washer needed to be replaced. I realized at that point that our situation was looking like the beginning of a nightmare. After several conversations between the service technician and Samsung, our machine was finally replaced. Without the center cylinder things like this can tangle, but not so in this setting. The spin cycle does a great job. Much less dryer time is needed. The water jet inside the washer is super handy to touch up items with a stain before the load. I wondered if I would use the deep fill water option since my old machine used a lot more water. But I have not felt the need to use it yet, this washer gets clothes nice and clean without all the extra water. I love that it reminds me when it is time to clean the machine. We purchased a Samsung fridge 5 years ago. It had issues with the ice maker a few times, which were repaired. Most recently, the fan was making a REALLY loud noise, Samsung came out and we were told there is now corrosion in the plug of the fan and it is not repairable. Upon contacting Samsung we have been told we need to buy a new fridge and they offered us a 20% discount. The fridge is only 5 years old, we paid over $2.5k for it and now have no option to repair it other than to replace it. I wanted to warn others, as we had choices when we were buying and chose Samsung - we are now paying for that decision, literally. Looking online and doing some research Ive now found that there is a class action for THE EXACT SAME THING in the US - the ice maker breaking causing the fan to make a loud noise and eventually stop working. Im in shock that Samsung find it acceptable to tell me to buy a new fridge after only 5 years and only give me a 25% discount... I will never buy another Samsung fridge again and I hope this warns others to do the same. So disappointed. Here is the link to some summary details of the class action: **.

Right after the end of the warranty both the refrigerator and freezer parts stopped cooling. I woke up one morning and the temperature was 75 degrees inside the unit resulting in food spoilage. Samsung wants $147 to come and look at it. I see that a lot of reviewers are complaining about the same problem, along with complaints about cheap plastic parts which we have experienced as well. Same thing, different person. Fridge Model RF217ACRS, manufactured in 2011. Problem started in 2014. Samsung refuses to pay for repair even though original chat transcript with Samsung Support inferred they will stand behind their product, after creating a ticket for me even though the fridge was out of warranty. Problem Description: Fridge coils freezing up, causing fan to rub on ice making a loud noise. Defrosted it multiple times, problem comes back within a week or 2. A&E Services wanting to charge $361 for the repair of what they claim is a $12 sensor. A&E Factory Services tech also told me that this is the cause of 90% of the problems reported regarding Samsung refrigerators. My guess... A&E and any other Samsung Authorized Service Center is being paid off by Samsung to cover-up the actual fault, which may lie with the evaporator, as if the water is drained/evaporated correctly, should not build up as ice on the coils, in my unprofessional opinion. Keep in mind, the evaporator is covered under the Samsung 5-year warranty, but the $12 sensor is not, and their repair techs will charge you out the *you know what* ($360) to replace it. I will never buy another Samsung device as long as I live, and I will steer all my friends and family away from them.

The problem with water in the drawers and on floor of refrigerator section
The problem with water in the drawers and on floor of refrigerator section is quite common. The drain tube gets iced up. You need to replace the evaporator cover in the refrigerator section. You also need to add a drain probe to carry heat from the defrost heater into the drain tube. Before you can remove the cover, you must defrost ref for 24 hours with doors open, unplugged. To remove rear cover in ref section remove 2 screws along bottom edge and then remove plug in center near top and remove screw under it. Start prying from each side from the bottom. Release 2 plugs at top left. Make sure drain hole in tray under evaporator is clear of ice by pouring hot water down it. Install new probe and install new cover. I think that if you go to searsparts.com and enter your model number you should be able find the correct parts.

We purchased a Samsung RF24FSEDBSR in 2016, built April 2015. 4 door model so that the cold cuts and handy things are in a middle drawer. Great features, and electronic controls provide good feedback that all is working. Bright interior LEDs. Ice maker and water dispenser. The functions and features sold it for us. Within months, the door shelves were cracking. We are not abusive, just placing milk. The plastic is brittle. The shelf bottom will crack and the tabs that hold the door can come apart, which drops it on the floor. Had to buy two new shelves. I bought Styrene plastic sheets from a hobby store, cut and sandwiched them to the drawers in weak areas (using MEK), for reinforcement which solved that issue. Never experienced such poor plastic (HIPS) in a $2000 appliance... or even a $500 unit.At about 3 years old, the fridge starts to buzz inside, and ice is visible in the interior back panel. Ice is encroaching on the evaporator fan. I removed the back panel to access the evaporator coil. Solid ice in the upper half of the coil. As if the defrost heater doesnt work. In fact, the defrost heater does work. Could not find any fault in the defrost thermo-disk, and all temperature sensors measured OK. Heater works too (120 Ohms). Changed the defrost thermo-disk anyway and really defrosted and dried out the cover using a hair dryer. Fridge ran fine for 8 months. Repeat. Turns out the defroster only takes care of the lower half of the evaporator coil! Design flaw. Once you start hearing the fan buzzing, the ice is building in the upper half of the evaporator coil. Once the fan gets stopped, everything including the styrofoam turns into a block of ice. You can thaw out the styrofoam and remove the ice. Or replace that back cover and styrofoam until another humid time when it will freeze up again (design flaw). Ive now defrosted it manually about 6 or 7 times, using every opportunity to measure and determine why this is happening. Ive checked all on-line videos and advice to solve these freeze up issues and attempted those that make sense (cause-effect). I have a power datalogger monitoring the fridge electrical consumption so I can evaluate how often and for how long it defrosts. Taken it on as a riddle.I did contact Samsung early in this process. They sounded concerned, but when the customer service rep check with their manager, they stated I must have been abusive to cause plastic to crack. No warranty. Yeah right. Im gluing everything together. Today, another roller wheel broke off... glued it back on. The freeze issues started right after warranty. Glad I can trouble shoot and fix myself, else the cost would be crazy. Now Im looking at modifications to prevent the evap coil from freezing up again. Whether you are a technical person or not... its not worth the trouble.... Dont let Samsung glitz sucker you in! It is a lemon. Wife hates it too.

WARNING!!! DO NOT PURCHASE A SAMSUNG PRODUCT!!! I purchased an electric range, side by side fridge and a dishwasher from Lowes in 2009. I have had problems with all of them! I have had to go rounds with customer service (they are horrible) with still no resolution. EVEN WORSE my stove caught fire from a faulty switchboard the day of my daughters open house! My stove no longer works and there was damage done to my wall and floor... My husband and I have been trying to get Samsung to take responsibility for the damages that their review board admitted was caused by their faulty product! WHY is there no recall on the stove??? It is a safety hazard and Im not the only one who has had a Samsung stove/ product catch fire!
