We ran into the Viking Refrigerator and it was on sale. Plus, we liked it and it was counter depth, which was what we were looking for. Its quality is good. I like that it’s tall enough so that you can place the wine bottles right on the door where you can move the shelves. And I like the compartment for the wine bottles too. However, you cannot open one of the drawers without opening up both doors. We thought we needed some repairs a while back. When we came back, it wouldn’t make any ice. We replaced the filter and it seemed to work, but it has been taking too long to make ice.

Viking range is great. I love the way the stove boils the food and cooks it. It has a whole setup on it. You dont see the flame come up but can adjust the way it goes. Its also safer for children. But right now, its not working and it needs to be fixed. We called customer service about it and they called a contractor. Were still waiting on the parts to come back. The wires burned up so we had to replace the whole surface. Once I receive the parts, I should be doing great unless they need it to be replaced.

This house has a built-in Viking refrigerator and on the right is the all-freezer. The refrigerator is loud and the compressor was constantly running so the previous owner of this home had to have it replaced under warranty in 2016, which was only a year after he bought it. When we purchased the house in August 2017, and just before we closed escrow, he had to call Viking to get service because the temperature of the refrigerator was not keeping cold and there was a leak in the coil. The appliance is relatively new and that worries me but so far, the refrigerators been keeping cold so I’m thankful for that. But I am surprised at the compressor noise and we live in a development where the builder got Viking for all the units. I looked at several units when I was purchasing and I noticed the same noise in every kitchen because the floor plans are similar. It’s quite loud and it’s not infrequent. I even talked to the owner in one of the homes and she had changed out the Viking for a Wolf refrigerator. She said she did it because the Viking was so loud. Also, at first I was worried that there was a problem, but I looked at the freezer temperature and it’s constant at what it should be used. It just runs hard and it’s very sad to me because I’m going to end up having to replace it at some point. The refrigerators features are reasonable, but for that kind of investment, I would never buy one of this. I have an experience with a built-in Thermador and that has superior quality compared to this Viking.

Purchased about six months ago and I have been picking up ice off the floor several times a day since! It overproduced ice into the bucket and when you open freezer ice falls out. I contacted customer service and a technician came to house. After consulting Viking directly it was found that this is a known problem and there is no fix for our model. I was told I need to lift the ice handle to stop making ice and put it down again when I need more. Can’t believe I have to make my own ice for a fridge that cost close to $10,000! The rep I purchased the fridge from contacted Viking to see if I could return and the answer was NO! Very disappointed!

We had Viking Ranges in our previous home that we sold and my wife wanted another one so we bought one for this new home. We had phoned what we wanted to the Viking dealer we worked with. There are a little bit different ones he wanted us to buy but we told him we wanted what we saw online that they have for $4,999. Once we told him that he looked it up and that was what we got. Its quality is excellent and we really like it. They changed the top where the burners are so they’re a little bit easier to clean. We like the way the stove cooks and its oven. We are happy with it.

In the summer of 2018 we purchased a Viking range model VGR5606GQSS, serial number 081018C10297709. It is a 60” 6 burner, double oven, grill and griddle gas range. We purchased it from Fred’s Appliance in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for our all new kitchen remodel. We have a large family was and this was chosen to provide for our needs especially on holidays. This is where the nightmare begins. This is a short synopsis, as I am an aerospace engineer I have hundreds of pictures of the failures, parts replaced from service calls and lots of documentation, emails, Viking parts book, if anybody wants any of them I will be happy to provide it.1) Shortly after installation, October 2018, the first thing that was noticed was the smell of gas, not a huge leak but noticeable every time walking past the unit. Not long after that we discovered the right side broiler did not work. Now comes Thanksgiving with about 40 people assembled for a happy time. Well what do you know the left oven was not working and we had both ovens running with something in each. 2) On the subsequent service call form Fred’s the first tech did not even know how to work on the unit and had a terrible customer service attitude nor did he even bring a gas sniffer or a way to move a 750 lb stove. We were also told by somebody at Fred’s that some gas leak is normal. Also moving the 750 lb. stove alone he damaged the floor under it. Nothing was fixed on this call.3) The second service request was for the same 3 items, Gas leak inside someplace. Right broiler will not stay on. Left oven acts up sometimes. 4) We did not see any service personnel again until March 6th 2019. A whole team from Fred’s showed up and managed to verify there was in fact a gas leak. It was caused by an improperly installed ferrule on a gas fitting on a regulator on the right side of the oven from the factory. Two issues of concern here, the first the leak was fixed not by replacing the faulty tube but tightening it really tight, the second if you look at the end of the tube it has been cut and not deburred allowing small aluminum chips to possibly enter the regulator and jam it up.. The second is that workmanship at the factory is substandard. Not only was this not checked for leakage at the factory, this leak would have been easily detected at the factory. Pictures available on request.5) So now we have only one of three items repaired. We still have a right broiler issue and a left oven issue. A note here when the left oven stops working the LED by the control flashes 4 times then pause and repeat and nobody not even at Viking knows what that means. The temperature control is made by ELAN Industries, and I believe the part number is EC021006, again pictures are available on request. 6) Now along to the service call on 6-26-19 hopefully (but did not) solve the oven issue(s). Here we are one year later and the left oven is doing the same thing. On 6-26-19 a team from Fred’s arrived again in a convoy of service trucks. This time their goal was to replace the ignitor boards on each oven hoping that would work. The boards are made by Invensys Controls P/N 100-01720-00, (recently acquired by Schneider Electric). They are a microprocessor based board using the PIC16C58B microcontroller by Microchip. They are 120V powered and receive one of two command signals from the oven thermostat telling it to open the gas valve and ignite the gas on either the oven or the broiler on that oven. Each oven has one. Again pictures and schematic available on request. This has resolved the right broiler issue but NOT the left oven failing and not restarting again until it is cool and giving the unknown 4 flashes code.7) We were told by one of the service technicians on one of the visits from Fred’s that if we wanted quality we should have chosen a Wolf range. There is something telling about that statement and I have heard it from others. 8) Now it is getting close to Thanksgiving 2019 for another large family gathering. Brent from Viking and Freds appliance came out Mid November 2019 and replaced the oven controls and changed the orifice on the left oven to a smaller diameter. This did stop the four flashes of the LED but caused a natural gas smell whenever the left oven was on for an extended period of time, it took about 30 minutes and gradually got worse through the house. This triggered a service call from Brennan at Northern Appliance to come out and verify the gas smell, which he did and reported it to Viking. Later just before Christmas Brennan made another service call to change the gas orifice on the left oven, back to a larger one, (the right oven works great). This solved the gas smell, however Christmas dinner was a disaster as the left oven 4 flash issue was back and we could not use the left oven as it would not stay running. 9) Now we initiated another service call over a year and the left oven still will not work correctly while the right one does and the parts list shows them both having the same controlling parts. So I received this e-mail from Jeff the service manager at Fred’s Appliance. They can’t fix it so they are taking it back and refuse to sell us anything now or in the future no matter what brand. I’ve been tasked with informing you that the manufacturer, and Fred’s appliance are working together to refund your range and the 8” back-guard accessory purchased with it. We will make arrangements for an installation company to work with your schedule to remove the range, and we will credit you back the full purchase price for those items upon return. I’ve attached a copy of your invoice and the total to be reimbursed is $14,181.69. The manufacturer and Fred’s appliance management have concluded that it’s not within our best interest to ship out a replacement range because it’s likely that a replacement will not address your on-going concerns. We are initiating return documents and an independent installation company will be in contact soon. Thank you, Jeff

We had a minor service problem with our grill and gas broiler which was immediately taken care of without charge. The service department was by far the best Ive dealt with in my experiences with other companies. We are going to be moving soon and I will get another Viking - The Best Gas Range Ever!!!

Ive known about Viking for many years and they are of upper level quality in the market. In fact, I just remodeled the whole kitchen with Viking products. However, the refrigerator’s got a couple of problems that we need to have fixed but I can’t get service here in our area. Vikings is working on trying to get service set up but Ive been waiting about two weeks now for it. The same goes with the dishwasher. It had a little leak in it and they’ve got a service call set up for that but the people are not responding. The three repair people who were doing the Viking warranty work do not do it anymore and the closest ones in the Cincinnati area are about 30 miles away but they got a 20-mile limit. Vikings will probably come through with the warranty but it’s a slow process right now. And having bought the refrigerator, the dishwasher, the cooktop, the vent system, etc., I am expecting a little more. Nevertheless, I would recommend the products.

Moved into our current house and replaced most of the appliances. The Viking French door refrigerator was a splurge. Soon after it was installed problems began. The refrigerator section began freezing all food. A tech was sent out several times. The problem persisted. They replaced the unit twice before one worked properly. It will freeze everything about twice a year. The second problem began about two years after installation. Water leaks out of the unit and the freezer section is constantly filling with water on the bottom. A tech said it was a common issue with the ice maker and that even if he replaced it the problem would return in a year. Once a month we break up the ice and remove it. No more water on the floor. Now the freezer door will not shut. When you close it and let go of the handle the door sags down and does not close. I have a tech scheduled but am fed up with the Viking brand. Never again.

We special ordered our Viking range in white on May 13, 2017 and were told it would be 6-8 weeks for delivery. Our range was delivered August 5th with no explanation of the delay. When our range was removed from its pallet and packing material removed, we discovered the door and lower cover panel were both dented. Our selling dealer quickly noted the damage, but installed the range with the promise to have both pieces replaced. It is now November 10th and we are finally scheduled to have the damaged pieces replaced on 11/18. We are patient people, but the delay in the original delivery date and the long wait for replacement parts seems unreasonable. No reason was ever given for either delay and that makes our experience with Viking only satisfactory. We were fortunate that the operation of our range was not compromised and have been using it since delivery in August. It performs flawlessly and does meet our cooking needs. However, the center burner doesnt seem to work correctly (it never goes to high) but we are hopeful that when the service tech comes to replace the dented pieces, he/she can make a simple adjustment. My husband and I do wish that there was direct communication from Viking beginning at the original order date. To date, we have never heard directly from Viking until this. Knowing the status of our order would have been much appreciated, given the substantial cost of our Viking.

We were in the middle of a remodel and after getting feedback from friends who have a Viking range, we ordered and paid for a unit in November of last year. They took the order in and had it delivered in March, but we had a little trouble with the people we bought it from because they sent us a propane range and they had to reorder a natural gas model. Other than that, once I was able to use the range, I love it. I like its performance, look and durability. It works great and the temperature is on point.

The repair person advise me that the oven and broiler are operated by two different circuit boards. After troubleshooting for about 40 min. he still could not locate the problem. Tried contacting Viking online and by phone. Viking has the worst support that I have ever seen. Even the Viking Official website has no reliable support. I dont think I will ever purchase a Viking product again. It’s simply not worth it for the money they charge.

I like to cook and I liked the look and feel of an industrial kitchen. Ive seen Viking ranges in other apartments. I read that they are quality stoves and ranges so I purchased one. Ive only had mine for a month and I like certain things about it. The stovetop is great. The heat and the flames are instantaneous and the igniters are quick. The temperature levels are really high. In that regard, its been good to cook on. But the oven is a big down point since its not working. Its a big part of the unit. Theres somethings wrong with the igniter. Its clicking a lot and its not getting to temperature. I spoke with somebody yesterday and the interaction was fine. I felt like I achieved what I was trying to do. But I havent heard back from anybody about making the appointment so somebody can come and look at the oven. They hire out locally. The range is under warranty but I didnt expect that a month in, I would have any work on it. I feel like I got a machine that isnt functioning. You could buy a way less expensive stove and probably have a more reliable oven. Overall, I have a beautiful looking range that performs well on the top but in regard to the oven not working, its not good for cooking.

The Viking Range fit all of the requirements that I had. Its a professional range and has a 36-inch all-gas oven. But Ive had a lot of issues with the range. I had to have the ignition switch replaced about a week after it was installed because the oven would not light. And now Im waiting for them to come and replace the burner in the oven because it wont stay lit. It was installed in the middle of September and it hasnt functioned properly since. But the dealer has been helpful as far as sending someone out to repair it. The Viking rep called and was very pleasant. He offered to come out and do a free demonstration whenever the unit is functioning properly. Theyre supposed to come out and replace the burner. Hopefully after that he can come out and show me some features of the oven.

I bought a Viking refrigerator due to the warranty on it. It works fine and I like its aesthetic features. However, I dont like the filters since they need to be replaced more often than I would like. Also, I made superficial dents in the bottom freezer drawer. It’s not noticeable, but I have to replace that single front panel so that I could get rid of it. The panel costs $1,650, which is more than half the cost of the entire refrigerator. Viking uses an outside manufacturer for that piece, and they’re ripping anybody who needs to replace that because they figured they need it. Its absolutely absurd and highly annoying that it’d cost that much money to fix the little dent.

My brother bought a Viking range. His wife is a really great cook and they loved the range. We had a range that worked off one of those panels and it broke down so we had to replace it twice. We wanted to get something that was totally manual and looked sturdy. the Viking range looked like the real thing. And it was a special with the dishwasher. We needed one of those so it all kind of worked out together. The qualitys great and its a real pleasure. I like the grill on top and you can slide everything across. However, I would never go back to the Viking dealer, P.C. Richards, again. Their guys came and I made the mistake of letting them install the unit instead of calling the plumber. They wound up cutting the heat shield at the back of the stove and they had to replace it. It was two weeks of back and forth and it wasn’t fun. That aside, we talked to Viking Ranges and they gave us a list of dealers since we wanted to get their runners. Our kitchen countertop is Butcher Block and the stove is sitting in the middle of the Butcher Block. I like the same stainless steel edging that I could put on the Butcher Block that would be alongside the side of the stove, like an angle iron. It would be attached between the countertop and the stove.

I have a 120 year old Queen Anne with a beautiful Chefs Kitchen filled with all Viking Appliances. I have 500 to 600 people visit and touring this historic Victorian house on an annual basis. The 36 Viking Refrigerator stopped cooling both the refrigeration and freezer sections. I contacted the local high-end appliance center, and was told by them, that they no longer work with Viking because of their very poor service of there appliances, especially their refrigerators. I spoke with all other neighbors in our mansion district and was told the same thing. So, this was shocking because I own a complete set of Viking appliances in my beautiful kitchen.Nevertheless, I decided to find out myself, what experience of service I would get by contacting Viking. Well... the person on their (1866) toll free number, kind of summed it up as exactly like I was warned. The unhelpful person referred me to the closest authorized service company 75 minutes away, which after calling twice and not hearing back, lead me to believe I was dealing with a truly amateur company. I am highly thinking of changing-out ALL the Viking appliances to a more professional manufactures.

We thought that Viking was a high-quality product so we bought the refrigerator and dishwasher. Surprisingly, there were minor problems all along so we kept calling the service. We were a little disappointed because our old kitchen had a custom built-in refrigerator work 23 years and never had a problem before it broke down. The Viking refrigerator door could not close properly because a mullion glide did not fit. I have their range, the hood, and the dishwasher cause thats pretty much the only appliances that they offer. The range is good, but its burner tends to leave a lot of watermarks which is like a darkening stain. And for whatever price Im paying for them, it shouldnt be something like that. The appearance on the burner of a Viking should have been a little cleaner. The main effect that just blows me off. No matter how much I do, it looks like its dirty but its not. From my experience, I have heard of lots of people telling its gonna do that, and I already knew about it before I bought the product. I even asked the person where I picked it if there was any way to prevent it. I was told Ive got to replace it. I called Viking up and replaced the little lid. But the main thing is that it heats up all my food and I love that its flame. Its so powerful that everything just heats up twice as fast compared to a regular Sears product that I would have bought. I have a close relative that owns the Wolf line of the same exact products that I have from Viking, and I have used their products before I bought the Viking products. The Viking does everything like a commercial grade appliance would do but its not commercial grade so it does the effect for our household, in general. And it does work 20% faster with me cooking on a Viking than on a Wolf. But at the same time, the Wolf that I used was three years older than the newer series that most probably came out with the changes that they have. As for the dishwasher, its great and it matches all my appliances but I wish it was more fancy enough. If I have to pick a dishwasher all over again, I would have gone with Sub-Zero. Even though I didnt like the interior much, it is a little bit nicer in the features that Ive seen on the newer ones. Other than that, everything else seems fine and well-warrantied.

Im from Mississippi so its not hard to hear about Viking Ranges here. I wanted to support a homegrown company and I cook a lot and have heard good reviews about it. I also had some friends that had them and enjoyed them. I appreciate the way if I spilled something on the top of the stove or something overflows that has a lid on it, the cleanup on that is not bad. Its pretty easy for me to clean up compared to the last stove combination I had. However, I have not been very pleased. I have a gas top and oven and the gas oven has been very difficult to regulate. It takes forever to heat up, way longer than ever expected for the oven to pre-heat. I have to turn it on a good 30 minutes prior to and sometimes longer. I put my own room thermometer in there because I dont trust the temperature setting. I hate the way the gas comes on and off. Early on, I was having struggles with everything being too dark on the bottom and light on the top. My appliance man said, Youre not waiting long enough to pre-heat. Youre gonna have to wait. Im also frustrated with the oven size. I have a big oven and a little oven side-by-side. The little oven is half an inch to an inch too small. And the big oven, when I try to get something in there like two pans or skillets, they dont fit well either. I cook all the time and I prefer large groups. We have work entertainment that I do all the time. I tried to do two big pork shoulder roasts at the same time. It was in there for hours and difficult to get both of them in there the way the pans were. I wouldve taken an inch out of the big one because its not helping and put the inch in the other one. Theres also the fact that its hard to clean on the inside. Viking makes a big deal about not scratching anything and not using anything harsh on it so Ive been very careful. I have to heat it up just a little bit and then have a wet rag and muscle it to get it off. When I spill something over, grease gets on the aisles of the stove and I havent gotten those off. I cant get those off without having to use something harsher than they recommend. We bought the vent that goes over it and Ive been hugely disappointed in that too. Its really difficult to get the grates out to wash them. I cant talk to anybody if I turn it on since it is obnoxiously loud. I also bought a warming drawer and thats been okay but theres a little spring-like lever that goes on it to make it click into place, and it broke for some reason. The appliance guy said, Well have to order that part. And then he went to order the part and Viking had stopped producing those parts for a while. He worked on getting a part to help with the regulation of the temperature in the oven and called me to come out and put that one in. But I dont think its going to help and I dont see what its going to do. Overall Im dissatisfied and if I could get rid of it, I would. If I hadnt spent so money, I wouldnt be quite as dissatisfied. But when you spend that much money, you expect a lot.

Ive had Viking in a previous home 15 years ago. At that time, I liked it better than anything else that was comparable of the professional series. However, theres one thing that some of the other ranges have that Viking didn’t and maybe still doesn’t have, and that’s different sized burners. My wife makes espresso every morning with the little Italian coffee pot, and all of the flame diameters are bigger than the actual espresso pot that were using. So we have to put it on the side and it uses about a third of the flame and two-thirds that has nothing. I know that some other brands have ones where the back burners are small. It’s the only thing that I wish was different. But I like that Viking is sturdy and uses gas.

I was in San Francisco and our home builder had Viking as all of our appliances. I have my whole kitchen, as well as the dishwasher, the refrigerator, the stove, the microwave, and the oven with the Viking line. The refrigerator is great and I like the look of the French double doors. Ive had the refrigerator for two months but its not working at its optimal level. The ice maker doesnt work. But it was a good experience when I called Viking about it. They were able to set me up with a local provider. However, the local provider just came out a week ago. And it had taken them almost two weeks to come out to fix it. And they still had to order a part and its gonna take a little bit longer so I had to go to Starbucks to get ice.

I walked into the store looking for a Sunshine or Vikings traditional gas range. Ive heard of Viking but I didnt know about their products. Their sales reps were not really educated. They showed me the Viking range and were not too technical about it. But when I saw the Viking, I said Wow. Its like a restaurant style range and I loved the way it looked as well as the capacity inside. So, I got it. Its also marked up at a reasonable price and so far, I had a good experience using it at home. I love how it heats up everything so fast and the knobs are good to work with. But I get confused once I use the conventional or the bake. I dont know what the difference is or how it works. Im not chef type person and Ive been Googling that to try to figure out whats the difference between that and the regular bake. The grills are heavy duty, too, which is good. We got to be careful when we take them off and clean them so we dont hit the actual stove with them. My wife cleans them daily and she scratched the front on top of it on the shiny part. It was stainless steel and she said it was heavy so she dropped it.

I purchased an entire kitchen of Viking appliances minus the fridge. The appliances were installed approximately 3 months ago, but have never been used because we are just moving back into the house. So far, we have had a repairman out for the stove, the microwave and most recently was told that the wine cooler has to have the control panel replaced. Are you kidding me? I haven’t had the first glass of chilled wine. I called corporate and was told that sometimes it happens. Not much concern was shown. They made sure that I knew that the cooler has a 2-year warranty. There are 3 reasons that I bought Viking products: first, they are beautiful; second, they are made in America; and third, I thought they were a good company with a very good product. I was wrong on everything except the beautiful part. Who protects us from these predators?

The Viking door hinge spring broke, maybe $ 1000 to replace a $ 10 spring. Warranty coverage was denied. Now, the door bins are falling apart. In addition to that, it took them forever to get the parts in. The house that I bought had the Viking range in it. Im really happy with my experience with it. I love the center stove. Its huge and it helps me put my plate in there and then make pancakes for the whole house which is very convenient. However, in terms of difficulty, its just very hard to know what temperature the oven reached and how long that would take. Because it doesnt have the setting to say, Okay, pre-heat it. I have to go at least 400 degrees Fahrenheit. And theres no way that tells me that its ready at 400. One time I had one knob that my son broke so I had to call them. But it was out of warranty, so they just said it was out of warranty. I said, Okay, no problem. But they provided me information in terms of who can help me fix it. So I just called an external agency and then set it up with them. Id definitely recommend Viking to a friend.

We went through an open house and we saw one with Viking as one of the stuff they put in their kitchen. My parents really love Sub-Zero and we were wondering if we’d go with Sub-Zero or Viking, and we picked Viking out of price. I like how cold it is and I like the fact that food doesn’t go spoiled as easily as with my traditional $2,000-range fridge. I bought a floor model and I called Viking ‘cause it had an installation issue. They sent a third-party company fast, which is good in terms of their customer service. However, the company who did the repair was not as good as I would like them to be because they couldn’t do it right and they put on the report that it might be a different issue. They scheduled it for another three to four weeks ‘cause of the parts. Overall Viking is pretty solid, but from the design point-of-view, it’s a bit outdated compared to others. Sub-Zero is better but it’s a little bit pricier and it’s harder to find a floor model than Viking.

They said the drawer that I wanted was back stocked. Theyd shipped it to me as soon as they had it in stock but it took about a month and a half. I’m also having problems with the controls. The usual temperature for a refrigerator is 30 degrees and they recommended zero for the freezer. But when I do that, the top shelf which is the refrigerator side gets frozen. We also found out that our icemaker was making noises because there was no water supply, so I had people come out in maintenance. One of my friends bought a house that had a Viking Range and I was out of a range for three months because I couldn’t find anything I wanted, so I researched Viking. The people that installed the stove was fantastic and it’s a rarity now to find that anywhere. They were Justin and John and it was called Bald Eagle Delivery & Home Service. They were a father-son team and they were incredible. They worked together very well. I live up in the mountains of Colorado and I can’t get anybody out here to do anything. I got the stoves that are 410 pounds, the smallest one, and they took their time, installed it correctly and showed us how to use it. The overall experience was amazing. As opposed to going to Sears, Lowe’s and Home Depot, I won’t go to any other place but Mountain High Appliance in Colorado Springs because the service was good. We’ve had four ranges in the 20 years that we’ve lived in this house and they keep going out. My husband did not want me to get a Viking Range because of the expense, but I told him that I was getting it. The roll-out trays inside the oven are great. I love the cooking experience, having a propane range and the fact that the oven is electric. I got the dual range and I just cooked the most beautiful rhubarb strawberry pie yesterday. It was wonderful. I love Viking Ranges.

We looked around at different places when we needed to buy another built-in refrigerator. Vikings reputation wasnt that great, but I thought I would take a gamble on it because I was told that they improved the product a lot. But what really sold me was that I liked the space on the refrigerator door - the little stuff on the door for condiments. Some of the other refrigerators did not have that. With the refrigerator, you dont have to change the filter. It has some kind of purification system on it. Weve had the refrigerator for about six months now and so far so good. It fits my needs. I havent had any complaints and Im hoping it continues that way. But I dont think I would be going back to the dealership. At first, they were nice then they kept on saying that the refrigerator was delivered then it wasnt delivered then it was delivered. I got a little bit angry at the gentleman on the phone. I have a double electric built-in oven approximately 11 months old. The temperature has never worked properly, and in August, I had a technician come out to regulate the temperature. In the process, we realized the convection feature did not work properly in the top oven (and later also in the bottom oven). After two trips to regulate the temperature, the technician also ordered a new fan for the convection portion. Shortly after that, we told him to order a bottom fan as well, as that was not properly working either. He called and told me the fan would take three weeks to arrive from the factory. I asked if it was in China, and he said no, he got parts faster from China than he did from Viking in the Midwest!!I had bought the oven from Albert Lee Appliance in Bellevue, WA. I called their service department initially to complain about the temperature, and they put me in touch with the local technician, who is excellent! I never had any follow-up call from Albert Lee to see if I was being taken care of. As time progressed, and the parts had not arrived, I again called Albert Lee service, and later the salesman I bought the oven from to ask for their help. The salesman referred me to to his service department, and they said they would look into it. After three weeks, and another call to the service department, I have never heard from Albert Lee.I finally called Viking, and after three re-routings of my call, was connected to the rep in Southern California, who told me to call the Northwest rep. He returned my call the next day, and promised to get the parts overnight so my oven would work. After a week and a half, and no parts forthcoming, he called and said he would replace the oven with a new one. He did mention receiving an email notification about bad convention fans in wall-mounted ovens (which I knew from three weeks prior from the technician!). At any rate, I am now awaiting a new oven (no delivery date yet). I would NOT recommend Viking to anyone based on my experience with their sloppy, untimely repair issues. I do have a Viking cooktop, and am happy with it, but hold my breath if something goes wrong with it after this experience. Also, I would not recommend Albert Lee Appliance to anyone, for their lack of customer care, and general lack of any follow-through on customer complaints. They sell and forget, it seems, so I will buy there no more.

Viking VMOS200 died after 7 years of very little use - repairs quoted in the $200-$250 range... not worth it. So now had to find exact same size replacement because of its existing Viking Trim Kit ($400+ by itself) and which matches other trim kits in kitchen. Anyway, only new Viking unit that fits our trim kit is the VMOS201 unit - at a fixed price of $689 plus local tax. Took old unit apart and discovered its basically a Sharp 2.0 cubic foot R530ES model... also obsolete. Note that the current Viking VMOS201 is also Sharp inside.Did some research and found that Frigidaire uses the same Sharp box, model FGMO205KF - and its half the cost of the Viking/Sharp VMOS201. All you give up is the heavier Viking stainless steel door and the Viking emblem. And if you must have the Viking emblem to match other appliances, just remove it from your old unit (use a hot hair dryer and saw the adhesive away with dental floss) and swap with the Frigidaire label. Hope this help other folks that dont want to pay $400. Too much for a commodity Sharp microwave.

The knobs that turn the gas on and off don’t pop out as they should. Some of them are maybe defective and even the ones that appear to work well really aren’t very good. The other day I was walking by it and I had a shoulder bag and it swung and just bumped against the range. And the gas went on full blast and flames were coming up about a few inches. So it literally turned on the whole stove by just swinging against it, which is concerning for everyone. My beautiful Viking refrigerator with freezer on the bottom was not quite three years old when the freezer section starting to build up ice to the point where I could not open the freezer door. Luckily it was still under warranty and the repairman installed a heater probe kit to keep ice from forming. Not quite one year later the problem occurred again. The repairman came and repaired it. Now we are 35 days later and the problem has occurred again. Viking’s solution is to install a new heater kit. That’s a total of three times in 14 months. I asked Viking if they could help with this latest service charge but they said ‘no’ because it is no longer under warranty. I think if people are having this problem repeatedly they should either find a remedy or replace the refrigerators. I think Viking should stick to ranges.

Where to start? Purchased in 2003. First time it was used temp went from 0 to 600 degrees. Damaged racks which they replaced. Nothing but problems. They kept sending Frick and Frack out to repair and they did more damage. I complained to Viking. I have all documentation. Last straw was when I did the self-cleaning on Super Bowl Sunday. It blew the circuit breakers and damaged the main control panel which we had to replace and we were without electricity for 14 hours. We have contacted Viking and they were going to review our case and get back to us--so far we havent heard from them. My husband faxed a long letter listing all the problems plus all the work orders. We want this oven out of our home. My husband said it is too dangerous to have in the house. I wish I had read reviews before purchasing our Viking Appliances. Do not buy Viking. Once they have your money--good bye.

A friend of ours purchased a range from Viking, and I heard a testimony of the people who told us about them so I went with them. The sales rep was good, but I didnt love the delivery team. The subcontract company from the store was a little bit on the unprofessional side and basically didnt have a rate plan for installation. They just winged it, quoted me a price and we had to do the whole Tijuana dealing. Then, they ended up not doing some good finish work on installation of the hood. They did a partial job. However, they didnt damage anything.

My husband is from Mississippi and everybody there has a Viking range. His mom had a Viking range and its just a family thing. I used to have a Thermador and I switched over to a Viking when my Thermador went out. I bought it online. The delivery was fine and it showed up on time. I had a professional come and install it. Ive had my Viking for about three months and I love it. Its a convection and its dual fuel. It is heavy duty and it is very easy to clean compared to my Thermador.

Im happy so far with the quality of my Viking refrigerator. I like the style. Ive got a Viking cooktop, hood, dual oven, and dishwasher. Ive had two repair guys out, one for the beverage center and one for the cooktop. They were both very lovely. I ran into a warranty issue with the beverage center though and that was a nightmare. I just gave up and paid for it. It wasnt expensive, but it was a waste of time. Other than that, Im happy with everything.

Ive known about Viking forever and I chose them because of the aesthetics of their pieces, their higher quality and that they would last longer. I like the height of the refrigerator I got and the size of the shelf because its easy to reach everything. However, I had a frustrating incident with their product which I never had with my old crap refrigerator. It appeared that somehow ice had formed in the circulation system between the freezer and the refrigerator, which caused the refrigerator to not be able to cool down. It took many weeks and two different people to come out to try to fix it. There was no sense of urgency. Viking was recommending the first repair company that didnt work on weekends, which was unheard of. Viking also didnt have enough time slots open to serve everyone. The fridge was fixed but there was a runaround in terms of payment and the Viking people didnt seem to know what they were doing. Viking needs to up its customer service game. They cant charge what they do for a refrigerator and not have 24/7 phone support and people who know what theyre doing on the other end. In this day and age, they cant meet the expectations. Thats not acceptable for this kind refrigerator at this cost. I could have gotten a better service with Sears or GE. I wont be buying a Viking again and I would go with somebody else just on the customer service experience Ive had with them. Overall, the refrigerator is a beautiful product but there is no support for it.

I remodeled my kitchen in 2018 and purchased all Viking appliances. Less than 2 years later I already have problems with the dishwasher (the detergent door doesnt open during the wash cycle), the freezer stopped making ice and the door to my steam oven spontaneously shattered when I opened it. I know this sounds crazy but it is absolutely true. I was opening the door, heard a pop and all of a sudden the glass started shattering. When I contacted Viking I was told my appliances were out of warranty. They only warranty them a year but who expects these expensive, high end appliances to start having problems so soon? My old (non-high end) appliances lasted 20 years! I never once had a problem. Whats most upsetting is Vikings attitude. I thought I was purchasing high quality appliances from a reputable company but thats not the way I feel anymore. Their customer service is terrible. They are slow to respond to emails and phone calls and truly dont seem interested in helping their customers or standing by their product.I had one service company they recommended come and leave with out fixing anything. The service tech said I should just put the detergent pod in the utensil holder and he glanced at the ice maker, said there was an ice cube stuck and declared it fixed. So here I am, a month later with nothing resolved. My biggest regret is not researching. Before you buy: research, get recommendations from friends, visit different appliance stores and talk to the sales people. And read reviews on web sites other than the brands site. I noticed Viking has no negative reviews on their site.

I’ve known of the Viking brand off and on for years. We were getting ready to renovate our kitchen and I like Vikings brand reputation. Plus there was a really good package deal that the store offered, in which we would get either a microwave or a dishwasher for free. The reps at this store were also knowledgeable overall and very accommodating. We’ve only had the range installed and working for about two and a half weeks and we really love it so far. It’s fast and very powerful. If you can afford Viking and are considering it, you should definitely get it.

We got a nice Viking oven and my wife wanted a Viking fridge next to it. Ive had many fridges in my life. But with this fridge, they’re coming out the sixth time to try to repair it and they’re kind of slow to get it. I threw out two batches of food. I had ruined my cabinet and my floor since it leaked water all over it. I have asked Viking if they can fix that or if I have to pay for myself. The whole kitchen is brand new. This fridge came in a year ago with the whole brand new kitchen, new floors and new cabinets. I have never had a product this bad in my life. I thought I would be paying for quality but either I got really unlucky or something else is wrong.

This is my third time having a Viking fridge. This one is a little better. I spent a lot of money to get it right on the third time. Thats a little disappointing, but we are happy with it this time. On the first house, the ice maker was always broken. It cost me $300 a month on an average for many years. Got here to my second house, and the ice maker frozen in the bottom. It cost me $300 a month. An ice maker shouldnt be that expensive. Its a very inexpensive part. So, hopefully, we got it right this time. We got our new refrigerator at the first of the year and everything has been going pretty good. I really like the space. The Viking dealer was excellent. They really knew the product and what they were talking about. We had such a bad taste in our mouth that if it had not been for the vendor, we would have not purchased Viking. I would recommend Viking. But if it had not been for this new refrigerator and the new vendor, I would have said, Im sorry. Im purchasing somewhere else. Im purchasing something else. A Sub-Zero is what we were looking at and the new vendor made a difference.

I love my Viking range. What I don’t like about it is when the knobs get a little bit older, the numbers rub off of them, and you cant use it. I never would have bought a Viking because of that reason at all. All my friends that have Viking, once their stove is a couple of years old, you can’t read anything on it. Wherein the Wolf stove, the numbers are embedded into the knobs so even if the paint wears off on them, you still have the numbers. The install of the Viking range was easy. But once it was installed, when I ran the convection fan, it was rubbing into something behind the stove. But the technician tried to come out and fix it to me. The other problem that I noticed with the Viking that Im gonna have to modify was I ordered the extended backsplash for it, and it doesnt fit. It was the proper extended backsplash for it so what I have to do is the stove has to be cut in order to accommodate the bigger backsplash. The backsplash is sitting at my house, unused, because Im going to wait for the factory warranty to expire on this, then Im going to cut the back of the stove and fit it.

So, we’re trying not to use it until it’s fixed. They had a guy out a week ago who said that they needed to order parts. And there’s been no ETA on when the parts are gonna be available or when the range is gonna be fixed. The Viking reps have been okay, but the problem’s been with the contracted service. We heard good things about the quality of Viking Refrigerators as we have friends that have the product. Also, Im the type that wants everything to match and be all from the same manufacturer. When we were redoing the kitchen and updating everything, we wanted to check out all of Vikings appliances. The team at the Viking dealer was very helpful and accommodating. We found a great bundle wherein if we got the refrigerator and the range, we would get a dishwasher that was deeply discounted or free. Since getting our Viking Refrigerator, Ive liked the control panel where I can separate my temperatures. However, there was a piece that wasnt allowing the bottom drawer to close. Within a day of calling to schedule the repair, someone was out to look at the refrigerator but then the part took over a month. Their guy came this morning and was repairing the piece. He said that the piece was not even necessary and it was a piece that could create the same problem later on. It feels like theres some flaw in that design. Nevertheless, the refrigerator is amazing and were happy.

We had Sub-Zero in our previous house and we were thinking about buying Sub-Zero again but Viking had a promotion, which was if you bought so many appliances, for every dollar over $10,000 that you spent, you get a 10% rebate. It pushed the cost in our favor so we got their unit. The first fridge that they sent had some damages on it and was making a loud noise. The damages were in the white parts on the inside of the unit, and it was something they could not repair. ApppliancesConnection.com, the place where I bought the unit, asked me to send pictures, and I did all that. Then, they sorted all that to the Viking rep. Viking made me an offer, but it was not a large enough discount to make me want and take it. I told them that if they want to make a more substantial financial offer, I would consider taking the damaged one. However, they never got back to me. I had to chase them down for weeks. I called again and again and they told me that the woman who was working on it doesnt do that anymore. Finally, I was like, “You know what, forget it, I’m not taking the offer. Just come out and replace it.” So they came out and took care of its replacement and the new one they sent has been fantastic. Overall, Im satisfied with my experience. Everything got handled pretty quickly and got fixed. However, if there was any way that Vikings could make a refrigerator that has filtered water, that would be a bonus. That was the only feature that we could not get in the Viking fridge and we really miss having it.

I knew of Viking 30 years ago. I live near the North Shore which is a pretty area and Viking was all they had in their houses. Thats what they got and that’s what I wanted. It was either Viking or Wolf stoves we were looking at. Wolf only had built-in refrigerators but when we designed our kitchen, we didnt do a built-in area for the refrigerators. Viking had the range, the microwave, and the refrigerator so we went with them. We used Grand Appliances in Libertyville and they were phenomenal. I was a pretty savvy consumer so I went about and did my research before I went in. We had a saleswoman who was fantastic too.We like the Viking range. It works and I like the blue light. The only thing we dont like about it is it doesnt have a timer on there, like a digital display. It has the knob on it that tells the temperature, though. When Im cooking something in the oven, I have to set the timer. Other than that, every appliance in our kitchen is all Viking. We bought a Viking microwave, so we set the timer on that. Our dishwasher is Viking too. When we had one little problem with our refrigerator, they came out to fix it. Now, its making a knocking noise but hopefully, it will go away before we call back. Overall, Id recommend Viking.

My husband and I purchased a BRAND NEW Viking VDOF730 professional series double wall ovens with the french door. It was installed on December 21st 2015. It worked beautifully for 10 days. The bottom oven stopped working on December 31st 2015. Turning the bottom broiler or convection on and the oven still doesnt get over 150F. When I finally got through to Viking customer service this morning after a 30 minute wait on hold, they authorized appliance service to come out and fix it on Wednesday, the day after we can no longer return the product. Let us hope that it keeps working afterwards.Updated on 03/10/2016: I first posted in the beginning of January 2016 regarding brand new french door stainless steel double wall ovens. It took several days for a serviceman to come out and verify that indeed the bottom ovens are not working. He ordered the replacement relay board and bottom element that day. Then the service department did not know when the replacement parts would ship. After almost a month of daily telephone calls to the customer service and to Pacific Sales, Viking finally agreed to replace the whole unit. The second unit was going to be sent to another city as there was an error on geography. Another two weeks pass. The replacement was damaged -- enamel cracked and scuffed off, oven webbing ripped, spiral machine marks on the racks and off-center doors. They were notified and we were told another new oven would be sent out. This time, 11 different signatures were on the inspection paperwork and it was installed. Then the installer damaged the doors. A different service is finally sent out -- without the french doors, or bottom hinges as the bottom oven is not closing properly. But it is okay to cook with -- so I am told.Within 2 days of it being installed, the ovens are running hot. You set it for 325 and it goes to 450. I am greatly annoyed. Yesterday, we are not notified that the service guy would be here to replace the inside of the french doors and the bottom oven hinges -- on a brand new oven. It was a fluke that he pulled up as I was coming home. He installed everything but still doesnt like the replacement hinges. I am giving it another try for a month; otherwise, goodbye Viking ovens. The gas cooktop appears to work fine although our downdraft pulls the flame out. I would NOT purchase their products again.

We wanted a commercial range. We looked at Thermadors but we liked the way Viking Range looked and the price was okay. Viking had a tough track record but we understand they were bought out by another corporation and they supposedly turned things around. The team at the dealer wasn’t great when we went to buy the range. They handle a lot of different lines. They were very nice but not extremely knowledgeable. I would think anybody who represents the commercial people like that would be very well trained. They provided all the information I needed as I asked it, but most of the time, they had to look it up. I think this particular dealer was more into GE, LG and the lower-end or middle-end stuff. They werent impressive by any means. Also, once you pay for them, you would almost think that when they install them, they would run through a tutorial. But the delivery was okay.We like it a lot and have cooked and maked tea on it. Yesterday, we just baked with it and it was making a few popping noises. Were not accustomed to a gas oven and hopefully, its a learning curve but Im assuming that was some of the stuff burning off because its new. Thats a question I have for the technician whos coming to look at the knobs in the front that are rubbing when I turn them and the front kick plate on the bottom that is crooked. But we like that were being able to control the heat on the burners and its appearance as well. It looks very commercial, industrial and it’s well designed. Right now, we’re satisfied.

The many repair people we have met since we bought this Viking Dishwasher i
The many repair people we have met since we bought this Viking Dishwasher in 2014 love to tell us how its impossible to troubleshoot, and breaks all the time. We replaced our old and very good Viking Dishwasher- that dated back to 2005 or so with one from 2014 when it needed a new pump at the urging of a sketchy repair guy. For this newer one we needed to rinse thoroughly the dishes prior and use all kinds of boosting products. (Lemi Shine). We had frequent service calls. It now needs $800 worth of repair for possibly 1) Moisture sensors, 2) drain pump or a 3) new panel, maybe. If its all three then its more than 1,400 dollars. These are repairs no reputable company can do within 3 -4 weeks. But we did have one guy come, charge us $125 (less than the going rate so we were thrilled, for a moment) and ask for stop tips. But he didnt fix it. And then he left to go on a cruise. Literally. We use this place as a part-time house so this is the second vacation we have spent doing dishes for the whole household + guests by hand. That and calling Dishwasher repair people. Sometimes they come and fix it and it breaks again, a few moments after they drive away and lose cell service, conveniently. The consultations in our area with reputable companies a minimum of $150 without a repair -- just to look--even if you have had someone else diagnose. They still refuse to bring anything on the truck to help fix it in one shot. The old one was great. It was loud and sounded like a hurricane but it really washed dishes. Its 20/20 hindsight but I bet the repair guy knew all this as he counseled us so hard to take it off our hands. The new ones are not good.I heard Viking switched to a new manufacturer (I hear its Asko now, but I do not know), or to a lesser quality from that manufacturer. Once they are (expensively) repaired they can last a while--but this is all rumor. In the meantime they are impossible to troubleshoot and you can analyze the manual all you want, nothing works. You cannot even manually drain it. So I recommend only buying this if you are actually an appliance repair person yourself or have one in the family. Kind of like owning a vintage automobile. But not nearly as fun. Not exactly a wind in your hair kind of experience. More like a dishpan hands one. While you look outside thinking of all the things youd rather be doing. So in short, park your ego and do not buy this machine. Unless you really love to do dishes by hand while you look at a Viking label in your kitchen. You can thank me. We finally decided to buy a Sears Kenmore with a stainless steel front and a 5-year service warranty. I added that to never pay that $150 dollar service fee for no work for a long time. Including installation, delivery and the 5-year warranty it cost less than the estimated repair cost of this one. Oh and there were no guarantees on the repair. And I did tell you the repair guy is on a cruise until after we leave. This review was based on Viking Model 032715-0000. PS. Its hard to tell from the images I posted but the bottom is flooded. Drain is cleaned, as are pipes checked. You cannot reset it to get it to drain following instructions in the manual. Note huge pile-up of dishes on counter. This has been our life this vacation. Hurray for Sears. Thank you! We cannot wait.

Weve only had the Viking Range for a couple of weeks. In another home in North Carolina, we’ve got a Wolf stove in there. The same company makes Wolf and Vikings but we wanted the Viking Range as it was the best fit for our kitchen in our new house. The dealer was great. On the day that we were supposed to get the range, they pulled the old one out and my husband realized that he had told them the wrong kind of gas fittings that we needed. The dealer, Cummins, told my husband that the one they had fittings on the floor, the one he had looked at, had actually the right ones. So they went ahead and connected that one instead. In the end, they were able to make sure were getting the right thing. So far, Ive been loving the Viking Range. Everything about it is great. I like the way the burners come off. It’s quiet and seamless. Its oven takes the “tsk, tsk, tsk’’ then winks a couple of seconds for it to come on. Everything’s instantaneous. The dials, the knobs and everything’s easy to figure out. Overall, the range is really well done.

The Viking is the first built-in refrigerator I have ever had. I am very happy with the way the interior is designed. Everything functions well in the refrigerator portion. I do however find it is a bit difficult to take apart and clean. The exterior door does not open wide enough to remove the bins and shelves easily. It is hard to maneuver. I am also happy having the freezer on the bottom. It makes it very easy to use.I have had no problems with the refrigerator however I had a very severe problem with the freezer. For some reason the small drain where the defrost water cycles got clogged up. This I think is quite difficult to do as it is behind a whole plastic wall. But it happened and the freezer froze full of ice and the door would not open. It was a total mess. The service man who repaired the freezer said that the Viking factory does not install a small part in the drains that would have alleviated this problem because of the fact that then the refrigerator would no longer have the economy rating it has. I do not know if this is a true statement or not but it was what I was told. I want to say that fortunately this occurred three days before the three-year warranty expired as it was an extremely expensive repair.

The quality of the Viking Range is fine. However, the oven doesn’t cook evenly. It’s also very small. The square footage inside of the oven is very small compared to my old GE, in my old apartment that I loved. It’s cooking thoroughly but its not even. So, if I’m going to bake cookies, I have to turn the tray around to get the back. Moreover, the knobs to turn on the oven and the stove get very, very, very hot when the oven is on. But the door closes fine. There’s nothing wrong with the unit. But I probably wouldnt buy it again. On the other hand, I had to call and have the Viking people come out a couple of weeks ago and they were really helpful. And then, the check was even lovelier, so their customer service is great.

Both our built-in freezer and refrigerator were purchased brand new with extended warranties. Freezer constantly breaks down and the technician cannot fix it right away and they have to keep coming back to change parts and still it take 3 to 4 weeks sometimes to fix it. That is why I purchased a spare Kenmore freezer used for $200.00 and it works better than my $5000.00 dollars Viking freezer, it does not break down. The refrigerator is falling apart. All the drawers are all broken or cracked from change in temperature and the warranty does not cover bad quality products. In short my recommendation to all Americans is dont buy Viking, it is a very bad company with a big line of bad products and bad customer service. We went to a dealer called Builders Supply that sells high-end appliances since the contractor sent us out there to go look at ranges. We looked at Viking, Wolf, KitchenAid, and GE. But my wife picked the Viking 48-inch range with two ovens because they had an extremely good reputation and my wife liked its appearance and the way it operated. It was delivered in October, but I found out that an installer had to set it up so we paid some people to do that. Then it turned out that the hinges on the larger oven were bent or broken and had been that way when it was shipped to us. We were told over and over that they were moving their parts supply deal from Mississippi to Atlanta. That was what was holding it up and it was just a matter of a few days before it would be done then we would get the hinges. But it took forever to get them to the point where the people at Mr. Appliance, their warranty contractor here, called me repeatedly to apologize. So it took a little over four months to get the hinges. Consequently, the stove is right now a little over a year old and for the first four months, we didn’t use one side of the stove. But because this is a $13,000 stove, we thought it would have been a better deal than that. But when we finally got the hinges, everything seemed to be fine. We only had a problem with leveling it, but when we had some people come out to level it, it worked fine for a while.Another problem was the indicator lights didn’t come on anymore. We also noticed that things were cooking too fast so I bought a thermometer and put it in the oven. But when I set the oven on 350, it came up at about 425. It clearly needed to be redone from the standpoint of recalibration. This has now been the week before Christmas. Mr. Appliance sent a man out and he looked at it. He was really good and knew what he’s doing. He figured out that a part has gone bad and its not doing what it’s supposed to do to regulate the temperature in the oven. Also, there were fans in the back that didnt work anymore. So if it’s supposed to cook at 350, we set it on about 250-275 and regulate to see if we can get it there using the thermometer that I put in. The technician came out the week before Christmas and I was told that it was no big deal. We just order the part and have it in. Since its been 2 weeks, I called Mr. Appliance. Their rep said that they might have a delivery on Thursday or Monday of next week and she would call me if my part was in that order. I now have a $13,000 doorstop, sitting in there, not able to cook in the major oven anymore. So were disappointed at the quality of our purchase. And when I call, I don’t seem to be able to get anybody on the phone over there. I hated the dealer too. They sold me some parts for the range, one of them being a $250 skirt that goes across the front, which hides the legs. It turned out that when we got it in the house, it wouldn’t fit. Somebody had taken it out of the box and the box was thrown away. When I attempted to return it because I couldn’t use it, they told me they don’t take anything back if it’s not in the box. This is despite having just bought close to $40,000 worth of appliances from them. This is the worst experience I’ve had so I would never go in there again. This stove has been a freaking nightmare and this experience stinks! Viking doesnt do what they say they’re going to do. I’ve spent nearly 50 years in business and customer service is the most important thing you can do. But you get nothing from Viking. If somebody asks me about buying a stove from them, I’m going to tell them to not walk but run in the other direction. If it doesn’t get better quickly, I’m going to have my attorney sue Viking for deceptive trade practices under Texas DTPA, which gets you triple damages. I’m going to take the $39,000, buy a Wolf stove and use the rest of it to take ads in the paper stating not to buy a Viking.

I was looking for a pro series refrigerator to match my professional appliances. The Viking Refrigerator met my requirements plus it was around my budget. The person from the store has been helping me with the appliances and choosing the right ones, and thought highly about the Viking Refrigerator. It’s very well lit with the LED lighting and it’s nice being able to open it and see everything. I like the number of shelves and the fact that I can reconfigure them. I have one that folds in half, so thats also neat because I may not need a full shelf. I could fold one of the shelves in half to fit a gallon of milk or orange juice, but if I dont have that, maybe I want to have the shelves instead. Also, the control panel lights up and temperature cool zone can be adjusted to cool whatever food you’re storing and it will keep it at that temperature plus the dial setting can be easily accessed because it’s in the inside of the door. Thats very helpful because with other refrigerators, they have it in places where someone cant even reach. The only issue that I had was that I had to have the refrigerator replaced 3 times because of the doors being not aligned and even. They tried to align the doors but the top part was wider open than the bottom. The store said that they couldnt do anything with it because the wheels in the back were not adjustable and they could not also adjust the doors. They could only do operating on adjustments. I called Viking service and they sent a repairman who said that it was actually defective and I need it to have it replaced. The reason it happened twice is because the store said, Well order a replacement, but when it came, one of the doors was dented. Theyve had the same issue, and they were not going to leave it with me. Theyre going to take it back. The store said, If youre not happy with the Viking maybe you could choose a different model or a different refrigerator. But even though the Viking refrigerator has those issues, I liked it and was already in love with it. I couldnt find that different selection. So then they delivered a new one and it was better than the other one. It wasnt wobbly but it still had an issue with the doors. However, when the repairman came and told me that it was defective, he said the doors could be fixed but not the wobbly part. They called the service again and I said, I got the replacement refrigerator. Can you come fix the door? They did, so now its good.At least, they let me keep the refrigerator until I got the replacement so I was not without a refrigerator. But because it was a special order it would take long time, like in a month. I wasnt happy because of everything else, but regarding the unit itself and how it operates, I would definitely recommend it. For the price, its great because it competes with the professional refrigerators.

We have had Viking Ranges since they pretty much came out. We are on our third Viking Range. When we remodeled our house, my husband wanted to get me something high quality because I’m a baker and I cook a lot. So we’ve researched and thats what came up. I like the way the Viking Range looks. We also renovate houses since the 80s and we always put a Viking Range in there. We flip higher end houses and people wanted Viking look or Wolf. We bought one Wolf and I hated the Wolf. I was like, Forget it. I don’t have to buy another Wolf. Weve bought plenty of Viking Ranges. The first one I had was a gas range and I loved it. And then we traded that for a dual fuel electric oven which I hated. The oven was much smaller and I couldnt fit all my baking pans. I couldnt even fit a turkey in it. I was really disappointed in that. It also started arching, spitting and shooting flames out the vent and the top. Wed called Viking to find out if there was any root cause. And they said not that they are aware of. So we ended up going through our insurance company in getting a new one. I got the Dual Fuel Viking Range. Its the four-burner. They did change the oven so its much bigger. Ive baked four cakes already with it and its only been a month. I wish they would have had one on the floor so I could have looked at it. But most people arent caring them because theyre so expensive. The people that I talked to at Viking have been very nice. But I wish we could have gotten more information about the other one that had started the fire. They didnt seem very interested and we still have that oven. They werent also going to take the oven so we figured we just hang on to it and see. Were thinking of making an outside kitchen and just tearing the oven apart and turning it into an outside stove. They also have people who came to hook a Viking Range up but hooked up the electric cord wrong. So then we didnt have an oven for a week cause it wouldnt work. Somebody came to fix it. They replaced the cord and took it right one on and that works great.

We purchased a Viking microwave, range/oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator in February 2008. The appliances were beautiful. Unfortunately, they did not last. Between February 2008 and November 2012, the oven had to be repaired twice. There was an issue with the temperature gauge both times. In addition, the microwave/range hood required multiple service visits, and at one point Lakeview (the authorized repair facility) took the microwave back to the shop and replaced every working part in the appliance in order to get it to function again, according to the repair person who worked with us. The microwave completely stopped working in 2010, and we purchased a temporary countertop microwave to use. In 2012, the dishwasher completely broke down and was irreparable. In 2011-2012, I repeatedly contacted Viking Customer Service and attempted to get our microwave repaired again. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to get any sort of information or resolution (multiple emails went unanswered after I provided the information requested by the customer service agent), I contacted the Better Business Bureau. After Viking was contacted by the BBB, a representative contacted me relatively quickly. But Viking would only offer to cover the cost of the parts needed for the repair and would not cover the cost of repair, although we had already paid for the microwave to be repaired more than once. Lakeview, the only authorized repair group in our area, charges $180 for the first hour of service and $90 per hour after that for repairs. In the end, we ended up sending the appliances to the junk yard and paid $1000 for a temporary microwave and dishwasher from GE, both of which function just as well or better as the Viking appliances when they still worked. We are now waiting for our Viking refrigerator to stop working. The water and ice dispenser in the door has already stopped functioning very well, so we do not use them any longer. In addition, the temperature in the freezer occasionally fluctuates for absolutely no reason. Sometimes it is 5 degrees, sometimes it is 0 degrees, or some other random temperature.Additionally, when we purchased the appliances from a licensed vendor, we were informed that we were eligible for a small rebate for the appliances. We verified that we were eligible with the manager of the vendor, who confirmed that we would be able to obtain the rebate. Viking refused to honor the rebate. We will never purchase Viking appliances again, and we make sure that we advise our friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances to avoid the companys products as well. When we redo our kitchen in a year or two, we are planning on purchasing our appliances from Wolf and Subzero.

We just moved into a new house with a Viking refrigerator. This model has a pull-out freezer drawer on the bottom and today, when my daughter had a friend over, they opened the door to the refrigerator while the freezer drawer was ajar and the unit was so top and front heavy that it fell forward, nearly crushing both girls. Luckily, we have a kitchen island that is about 2 feet from the fridge that stopped its free fall. We only lost most of the contents of the refrigerator and spent an hour cleaning up broken glass and spilled food instead of rushing to the ER or calling 911. This isnt the first problem weve had with this fridge despite the fact that weve only had it for about a month. The freezer leaks almost constantly into an overflowing drip tray and is ruining the hardwood floor beneath it. After todays incident, I went to the basement to discover that water was pouring from the ceiling light fixture directly beneath the fridge. Ill be replacing this unit ASAP as Im afraid to let my children open the door by themselves.
