Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDS301XBL7 - The plastic rollers on the top and bottom are cheap and break a couple of years. We have replaced 3 out of 4 roller assemblies and anticipate the 4th to go soon. Also, the controls on the front are very touchy. If you lean against the counter and accidentally touch the dishwasher/control board, it will turn on or start cycling. This forces you to lock the panel, but that is not convenient. Dishwasher works well and have no problems with it.

We bought a KitchenAid gas range in 2010. When I used the self cleaning mode my display went black and my oven was locked. We called manufacture while it was still under their warranty. They sent a repairman out and he replaced the circuit board. Now 2015 we have a reoccurring problem. Used self cleaning again. Oven locked. We bought an extended service plus warranty on Jan 9th 2015. Today on Jan 27th we are told that they will gladly refund us our money on the service plan even though it was stated in their warranty if its an electrical issue or mechanical they will replace it if it cant be fixed. Well they have stated its gonna cost more in parts for a 5 yr old stove. Well if they would of fixed the problem back in 2010 would I still be having this problem today in 2015. Seems to me there is a issue in the manufacturing of this range.

I have a KitchenAid Superba double wall oven (#KEBC208KSS) needing a new electronic panel. It no longer cleans and the oven light doesnt always turn off. I have been told it needs a new panel (again). This is my second KitchenAid Superba oven. I replaced the last oven because the panel had to be replaced three times but only twice under warranty. Then we moved and the house we bought had the same ovens. The cost of these panels installed is now nearly $500 with only a 90-day warranty! I also have a hard time believing KitchenAid continues to make a faulty product and sells it for nearly $3,000. Ive ordered new ovens of different brand. Its tough to believe they cant find a way to fix the issues with their electronic panels.

DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID PRODUCTS. They look nice in the store, but are actually poorly built and worse, performance is awful. I have dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator and all 3 have deteriorated in quality after just a year of use. Their customer service is the absolute worst. Ive seen other comments on this site and they are accurate. Customer service will not help in any way. Their only answer is Im sorry. Our refrigerator has a documented design flaw and they refuse to replace it. Their solution is to have someone come to our house and completely strip the inside out so we are left with a metal box. Then, the person is going to build one out of all new parts. I will have a frankenstein that will not be inspected by anyone, no quality control, and no idea if its being done properly. The model is KFIS29BBMS00 -- but dont worry, because of the known design flaw they dont make it anymore. Kitchenaid is horrible and their customer service is worse. Buy ANYTHING else.

I purchased a KitchenAid microwave model# KMCS3022GSS and trim kit in May, 2018 as we were in the process of remodeling our kitchen and the cabinet maker needed the dimensions of the unit to build the cabinets. I knew that I was taking a warranty risk as it was going to take 8 months to get my cabinets but I expected KitchenAid products to be high quality. However, in less than 8 months of actual operation the microwave has died and from what I’m reading on this site it can’t be repaired so I’m out over $500. I’ve been a loyal Whirlpool/KitchenAid customer but it’s time to look for another supplier.

Kitchenaid Dishwasher KUDC10IXWH8 purchased 06/14/13, have had problems right along, had pump problems, finally changed pump on 05/11/2015. Now, I smelled burning wires, could not find source. Opened dishwasher to empty and saw that the dirty water had not emptied out. Had someone check the plug and saw that it had burned and melted. Think it melted into the wall plug also. Will contact Kitchenaid today.

I purchased this french door refrigerator with a water dispenser inside the refrigerator 6 months ago. The first problem was the gasket around the freezer was not sealing so there was ice buildup in the freezer. The next problem was the door hinge was not installed correctly so the refrigerator doors were not sealing. Now there is water dripping between the 2 doors. Whirlpool purchased KitchenAid & I have heard the KitchenAid quality has since decreased. I believe the product should work. 3 problems with a brand new refrigerator tells me something else will most likely break. Im disgusted that Whirlpool wont just replace this defective refrigerator. If I wanted to take a chance on the refrigerator breaking, I would have bought used.

Our house (built in 2006) came with KitchenAid SS appliances. All of them have had issues. In 2010 our dishwashers thermal fuse burnt. We replaced it and it worked for a while. Then after about 6 months, it failed again. I had it replaced again and it worked for a while. I now have the flashing Normal and Cancel lights. Pulled the power plug and connected it back after 15 minutes. Still the same issue. Came to know that it is either a keypad or control board issue. So then we started using it to store manually washed vessels. Then one day, while opening the door, I heard a snap and then the door fell loose instead of going down gently. I noticed a cord sticking out of the bottom with frayed end. As I shone my flashlight through the bottom corner, I noticed a plastic piece which was probably attached to the cord/rope and I could also see a large spring lying on the floor underneath the dishwasher (on the side), which I am assuming this plastic was connected to. So the cord would pull on the spring and slow the opening of the door. It looks like the knot of the cord came undone and then the plastic fell off and came unattached from the spring. Such badly designed appliances. The torsion spring on my microwave broke twice and the door falls freely. Not fixing again. Never again will I buy an appliance of theirs or Whirlpool.

Purchased Kitchen Aid dishwasher model KDTM404KPS from Home Depot in Nov2020. The 1st dishwasher had a problem day 1. It was extremely loud. Like a jet plane crashing. Metal grinding weird burning smell. I called Home Depot & told them it wasn’t working. I refused repair & demanded a replacement. I then had to spend 10hrs dealing with Home Depot & Whirlpool customer service before they would agree to replace the unit. The 2nd unit had to be returned because it arrived with massive damage to the door. Huge dent. The 3rd unit was finally installed in Dec2020. However, it still makes a lot of noise. Nowhere near their 44dba rating they claim. It’s the loudest dishwasher I have ever owned. Also, the dishes come out with a white haze. They come out dirtier than when you put them in. I’m going to call customer service again. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever owned.

During a dinner party the week before Christmas, the oven door exploded in my 2 month old, second use of Superba model #KEB-277, which original cost is nearly $2,500. It took me being a proactive consumer, spending about 1/2 hour a day for 6 weeks for the final repair to take place. The first warranty repair company just did not show up for an appointment. Finally, it took to making two appointments with different companies just to make sure someone showed up to look at the problem. Second company was wonderful - however, it still took me being involved with KitchenAid Safety Division”, their customer service and HHGregg (who told me it wasnt their problem since the 30 day warranty had expired! ), to finally get pieces to repair the door.Since neither KitchenAid nor HHGregg saw any need to replace a defective product, I insisted on all 2 new pieces of glass, a new steel shell that had been dented with the explosion, and all new racks. The problem is behind me, but I will never purchase another KitchenAid appliance nor buy any product at HHGregg.

KSSCA 42QMS03 built-in refrigerator-freezer - Builder Centex (now a Pulte division) installed this optional upgrade appliance in March 2007 for $7000. Now, appliance is not cooling enough in freezer and almost no cooling in refrigerator; has flashing indicator lights; and has intermittent low fan noise. Repair tech said KitchenAid does not carry replacement for defective Main Circuit Board because Japanese factory for the board was damaged by the tsunami during the large earthquake that destroyed nearby nuclear plant, so customers have to wait till 2020, per KitchenAid, for KA to have replacement circuit board again. That tsunami was in March 2011 -- more than 4 years ago; how long does it take to have another company make that circuit board? Or does KitchenAid not care about its obligations to its customers for prompt availability of replacement parts? In reading the other damning reviews on this website, I am getting a clearer picture of the poor accountability of this manufacturer. What I do not understand is that Whirlpool, a highly regarded brand in appliances, is apparently allowing their upscale KitchenAid brand to languish in poor management practices.

Im a building contractor. Ive installed many different brands of appliances, from the very expensive to the low end disposable ones. About twenty years ago KitchenAid made a good, reliable, and well priced fridge. It was easily installed with well thought-out and user friendly adjustments for installation. For years I felt confident in recommending KitchenAid as a well-balanced alternative to higher end appliances or European appliances. In 2009 I purchased the full KitchenAid kitchen. Everything about my KitchenAid kitchen has been nothing less than disappointing, from the supplier, to the service, to the parts supplier. KitchenAid is now the disposable appliance at a rich price. I WILL spend the extra, and buy European and will verify it is NOT made in China/PRC!

In storage for a month till house was ready. 30 days later Ice maker quit working, repairman from 1-800 appliances came out, said getting readings all over the place, will order a couple parts 3-5 days and will call when they come in. Top fridge quit 11 hours after he left. Called, they said parts on order, call KitchenAid, ZERO HELP. CALLED...WHIRLPOOL, ZERO HELP. CALL 1-800 APPLIANCES, ZERO HELP. 12 DAYS IN NEVADA HEAT AND NO FRIDGE AND SPOILED FOOD. Freezer froze up and fan was hitting ice chunks, had to totally unplug...Next going to Television news for help!! Bought 5 year extended warranty but must use manufacturers first??? For such an expensive dishwasher, it does not clean dishes well. Also, the unit is less than 5 years old and the door balance parts break? They are made of nylon cord and plastic, attached to a metal door and metal spring. Why in the world would you use such flimsy materials for such a heavy door? I nearly injured myself when the door came crashing down, just missing my foot (the repair parts were in shipment). And after reading all the complaints here I am not impressed.

I purchased a stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher from Lowes a few years ago to replace my 14-year-old perfect Whirlpool. The KitchenAid worked well for awhile, but suddenly the entire inside tub had a film on it, and now every glass, every utensil, every plate, etc., has a white film all over. I have tried everything - changing detergents, washing every dish thoroughly before loading into dishwasher, etc. Nothing has worked. I cant even clean the film off once it is on. After reading the reviews on this site, I feel like calling KitchenAid will only frustrate and upset me. This dishwasher was expensive and it is a huge disappointment. I would advise anyone to look at other brands first.

We have had 5 service calls to try and fix the cooling in the refrigerator and the ice maker. This stainless steel side by side unit is barely a year old. Having this issue repaired has been such a headache. Whirlpool/KitchenAid has many hoops to jump through and documentation needed. A month later, this issue is still unresolved. I am about to purchase a new refrigerator and just consider this a loss. I will never purchase another KitchenAid appliance again.

Purchased a KitchenAid Dishwasher 4 years ago and have had trouble with it
Purchased a KitchenAid Dishwasher 4 years ago and have had trouble with it beginning 2 months after purchase. It flooded my kitchen due to a faulty water valve. With it under warranty the repairman states, I have seen this on all of these and they know it is happening and continue to put the faulty valves on these dishwashers. Then within a year the bottom rack wheels came off and did this on 2 occasions. Then all the front panel light went out about 6 months later. 6 months ago the top rack fell off (wheels & welds broke and were rusty) onto the bottom rack full of dishes with several glasses. Last night I started up the machine with no water intake and nothing occurred except the smell of wires burning. I will be purchasing a new dishwasher and it will not be a KitchenAid nor Whirlpool! Totally giving KitchenAid and Whirlpool a 0 rating.

We bought the Kitchenaid combination microwave/convection oven in 2017. Our problem with the unit is a faulty door latch, that apparently is a manufacturing flaw which Kitchenaid is not addressing. Sometimes as we attempt to use the microwave, we get a message that says open/close door. This is an indication that the latch portion that is in the unit (not the door) recedes back into the unit. We have had a repair man come twice to fix the problem, with a standard $89 fee that Kitchenaid does not recognize as covered under warranty. The second time he came, he told us he gets many calls for this problem, and showed us how to fix it ourselves to avoid the service call. It is a 30 minute nuisance to get into the panel for a temporary fix. We are disappointed that Kitchenaid would sell a product that is destined to malfunction repeatedly. We are hopeful they will stand behind their good reputation and fix this manufacturers error.

KitchenAid® Superba® Series EQ Built-In Dishwasher - KUDE40FXBL1 - Like many others in this column, we spent a bit more money to buy a Kitchenaid dishwasher, thinking that the quality was better. The delivery date for our dishwasher was April 26, 2011. As many have noted, the wheel system on the upper racks continues to fail. The plastic tabs that hold the wheels onto the dishwasher rack adjuster breaks, allowing the wheels to come off and ultimately leading to the upper rack dropping down on top of the dishes in the lower rack. On April 7, 2012, a few weeks shy of one year, and just before the end of the full coverage warranty, we had the dishwasher rack adjuster replaced for the first time by Sears technicians (since the machine was purchased from Sears). In January 2013, two of the four wheels were falling off again and allowing the rack to unexpectedly drop from the upper rails. After much complaining to Kitchenaid, they agreed to send replacement parts (2 dishwasher rack adjusters, one for each side, part number W10350376). The new parts are exactly the same as the two sets of dishwasher rack adjusters that failed in the past. I had hoped that Kitchenaid would have made a design change to the parts by this point in time, but it appears as though they have not addressed the issue. I will be replacing the parts by myself, and if there is no change in design, it looks like this may be an annual task. If anyone knows of a solution, kindly advise.

We replaced our old dishwasher with a KitchenAid one hoping to have a long-lasting efficient one that would really clean our dishes well. We have had several repairs from Best Buy where the dishwasher was purchased. Our problems started six months after purchase and are as follows: First, the heated dry function does not come on with normal cycle. Second, the on-hour wash cycle does not clean well at all, so we can only use the longer cycles which are more time-consuming. We have replaced the racks three times. KitchenAid was contacted and they feel Best Buy should take responsibility for the machine while Best Buy held Whirlpool responsible. We did not purchase the extended warranty on the faith that KitchenAid is a good brand with a quality product. We will not purchase a Whirlpool or KitchenAid product in the future.

Dont let the high price and nice design of this refrigerator fool you. The interior lights on this model work about 1% of the time. The ice maker produces ice (maybe!) 2 times a month if were lucky. We actually have to buy our ice now.... The water dispenser operates 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time the water dispenses on its own and floods our kitchen floor. The water dispensing by itself happens at all hours of the day. The door handles have all fallen off multiple times. The failures of this product have happened at different times so they arent connected to one another whatsoever. This refrigerator model worked as expected for the first 7 months. We have performed all troubleshooting suggestions. A refrigeration expert has inspected this refrigerator numerous times and and has not been able to fix anything except tighten the door handles (which are still loose and ready to fall off AGAIN). Our friends purchased this exact model and within 9 months their ice machine quit producing ice. If this model hadnt cost us $4,000.00 we would happily dispose of it in the city landfill and replace it with a different MAKE and model. This refrigerator has been a nightmare and we look forward to the day that it actually quits refrigerating our food.

We have had this range for 6 years. If you check the service calls, 3 have been for the oven not reaching maximum temperature. Each service call is close to or more than $200.00. The temperature works for a while and then returns to 259 degrees. Never been fixed properly. Now we have an error F2E1, service call $125.00. The repairman said we have an error F2E1 and we would have to order a new keyboard. Really $125.00 to tell us what we already knew. Now, to make matters worse he said this part, estimated cost $500.00, may not correct the problem and further work/parts would be needed and he wouldnt know until he tried the new part. The most frustrating part is he said the keyboard part could not be returned if further work was necessary thus increasing the price and that couldnt be determined until he started the work! So, we have decided to buy a new gas range and a new fridge and obviously neither one will be a KitchenAid.

I just came in the house after spending about an hour and a half mowing the lawn. To my surprise, the KitchenAid Microwave (Model KHMS155LSS-3 Oct 2005) was running by itself. I tried to turn it off using the buttons, but none of them worked. I ended up opening the door and unplugging the unit to get it to stop running. The inside of the microwave was absolutely smoking hot! Before unplugging it, the digital display was indicating PAN. I plugged the microwave back into the outlet, and PAN again appeared. Seconds later, the microwave started to run by itself again so I unplugged it again. I called Whirlpool (800/331-7456) and they said it was most likely a control board problem, and that they would be mailing a new one to my house. They also scheduled a service call which is a week and a half from today. Thank God I was at home or we might not have a home (and pets) to come back to. This unit should have been recalled! Do I really want this unit in my house even if it has been repaired?

We purchased the KUDS201XBL1 in April. To this day, we have only seen the clean light 6 times. We have been through 2 different repair companies, 9 emails to KitchenAid, too many phone calls to count, a new control board, being told to turn up our water heater, being told to run the hot water in the sink every time the machine drains and refills, telling us our pipes are bad, maybe it is the motor, the heating element, the control panel again, etc. What we have determined on our own is that the Pro-Wash & Heavy Duty Cycles will not complete. Normal wash and 1 hour wash will complete occasionally as long as the heat dry option is not on. Currently the latest repairman (an outside vendor who in his defense has really tried to work with the company) is waiting for KitchenAid to get back to him. KitchenAid has already told us our warranty does not include replacement, only repair. Well, at this point, I dont expect we will be getting even the repair had. We have basically paid over $700 for a dish rinser.

My question is, why have they not recalled the plastic piece that is supposed to put the ice in the glass? If I had been able to try it out in the store, I certainly would not have bought this model. It stops working after about 10 min., then you have to push a few buttons and then it works for about 10 more min. until it stops again, and then finally you have to start the whole cycle over and then it will complete. Its like washing dishes twice! It takes about 2-3 hours for a complete cycle. Also there is a smell that is terrible and after trying dishwashing cleaners, it still smells. Finally, every few months Ive had to take the whole thing apart to clean out the filter area to try to rid the smell. Ive never had so much trouble with a dishwasher!!!! I purchased a KitchenAid refrigerator. I could never get the ice maker out. Later found out it was stuck shut. At about 11 months I notices residue on the bottom of my glass after my drink sat. The volume of the powdery substance was quite substantial and noticeable. I really worked on the ice maker and forced it open. There was a pile of white powder inside the ice maker and on the sides of the interior. I cleaned it thoroughly removing all white power and thought the problem was solved. They just forgot to clean it before shipping it. After cleaning it the water/ice was clear. Within 3 months I noticed the white powder was back in my drinks. I cant believe how much of this powder I must have ingested. I called KitchenAid. Sorry you are out of warranty. I suggested they come out and get a sample of this white powder and identify it as harmless or toxic, if not for me then other who may have not noticed it. Sorry your out of warranty. Can I send you a sample of this powder and you can tell me what it is and if it is normal to be in my drinks. No. CAUTION!! LOOK in the bottom of your glass after the ice has melted. Dont let your children drink this substance. Write me if you have had similar experience.

For what should be the top of the line for the Whirlpool Corporation, you should run not walk away from any KitchenAid dishwasher you see in the showroom. We purchased a new home less than 3 years ago which had a brand new Kitchenaid dishwasher. We are a family of 6 who cooks at home most nights so the dishwasher gets a lot of use. In the less than 3 years we have had the control panel motherboard replaced 2 times (thankfully under warranty) and last week the dishwasher started to leak significant amounts of water ruining part of our kitchen floor. We had a technician come out and he knew right away it was the sump. He openly said this thing is a lemon which Whirlpool has known about for years and refuses to fix. We asked if we could fix it and his response was Sure, these are one of the parts I carry with me to all jobs because they fail so much. However the repair cost was almost $500 so we have decided to send this piece of junk to the curb and purchase another brand. Whirlpool has lost a customer for life.

Purchased new microwave (KMHS120ESS-2) in April 2016. Heating element failed in March 2017 and was repaired under warranty. Heating element failed again in May 2017. Element was under warranty but labor (greater cost of the two) was not. Believe problem not the element but something else that triggers the failure. Consumer beware of both poor quality of product and failure of the company to properly diagnose the root cause of the problem.

Superba Selectra Oven Glass explosion - While we were at the bedroom, my daughter heard a noise coming from the kitchen. It was like a loud crack. Then, we muted the TV and we heard a second loud noise and went to see. The glass from the oven was scattered all over the floor and even reached the living room and adjacent rooms. We all were saying we are lucky nobody was at the kitchen at the moment it happened, but now I think there are many similar cases and want to do something. This event happened yesterday night, 10-19-12. Today, we will contact KitchenAid about it but as we read from the other complaints, it looks like Kitchen Aid is not going to cooperate. Please, does anyone know if there is a class action suit or a recall?

We built our house 3 years ago. We chose a KitchenAid kude48fxss6 for our dishwasher. We chose the higher end model thinking it would be better. The dishwashers 1st issue was in our 2nd year of having it. A gasket of some kind went on the inside. The water during the cycle found the path of least resistance out, and cause a fair bit of water damage to our floor by the time we came home and saw. My husband repaired the dishwasher with a $5 part. The parts store commented that it was a very frequently breakdown on these dishwashers. Next came the plastic nub that connected the top basket to the roller. Each basket has 4 of these nubs. Plastic becomes brittle over time especially when exposed to hot Temps and water. So not surprisingly one broke. And now mother recently the entire connection piece that the baskets roll on has broke.Fortunately my husband has been able to fix these items but its extremely disappointing that we spent good money on such garbage and also have to still repair a damaged section of floor. There isnt any accountability for the disposable garbage these manufacturers make. The use the cheapest components designed to last just long enough though standard warranty so that you are stuck repairing and or replacing. It should be criminal. They should take notes from the Toyota production systems and learn about continuous improvement. Then people would be fistful to the brand and their businesses would thrive rather than their current model of cheat and deceit. Sincerely, a mom of 3 little kids who has better things to do than wash extra dishes.

I bought a higher end KitchenAid Dishwasher model W10502124A. It is almost 2 years old. I started having trouble with it after I used it for about a year. I took out the racks and got a flashlight inside the tub. It was covered with mold, grease and food residue. I took the spinner and cover off and cleaned the filter. It was somewhat dirty, so I cleaned out everything. I disinfected everything and put it back together. About 3 months later, I took out the racks again. The inside was covered in filth, grease and mold. I took it apart again and took out the food chopper assembly.First of all the food chopper was jammed into the opening, so it would have been impossible for it to even turn the blades. When I disassembled the unit, it appeared (I am not a professional repair person) that one of the arms that hold the shaft in the plastic assembly was broken off. I put the unit back together as well as I could. At least the blade could turn now. Its been about 2 months and there is powder residue left in my top rack, the dishes are not getting clean and I have finally summoned a repairman. I did contact KitchenAid and their cheerful reply was you need to call a professional repairman.

This will be the 2nd time that I have had to call a repairman out to replace the thermostat in my Superba wall oven. Like so many other complaints Ive seen posted, there is something wrong if you cannot use the self clean function of your self-cleaning oven. To pay this kind of price (over $3,000) for a convection oven/microwave combo is a lot and you would expect a better product. First off, you pay extra for a self cleaning function but if you cant ever use it without it disabling your entire oven, then whats the point? So far on my oven combo unit, I have had to replace the glass in the door panel of the microwave, the glass in the door panel of my oven (no they were never hit by anything) and am now replacing my thermostat for the second time all because I wanted to use an option that I paid for: a self-cleaning option. Never again will I buy a product from KitchenAid or one of their related subsidiaries.

I give this zero stars for my safety nothing can compromise that. I had a Kitchenaid stove up until yesterday. It was a stand alone range and for some reason it was putting out a abnormal amount of heat in the kitchen. Also it seemed like I was nauseous some time just standing close to the unit. I put the unit on self clean didnt seem like it worked at all. Had the unit tested by the gas company and they tagged it off as a hazard. The reading on preheat alone was high in carbon monoxide coming out the oven vent. I do not know why these products are so expensive when the quality isnt there. I just replaced the stove with a better brand and my kitchen isnt hot at all...and was tested no readings whatsoever. Stay away from this brand if you value your safety.

We have owned a KitchenAid Dishwasher, Model KUDS35FXSS8 for 16 months. The wheels on the upper dish rack have already come off, rendering it unusable. This happened because the plastic tabs that hold the wheels in place have become brittle and cracked off in this short time. Kitchen Aids warranty states that the dish rack is warranted for 5 years. However, Kitchen Aid customer service tells us that the wheel assembly on the dish rack is not covered by this warranty. Wheel assembly W10350376 is poorly designed and quickly fails. I am extremely dissatisfied and could kick myself for purchasing KitchenAid appliances. We bought a suite of six KitchenAid appliances for our newly remodeled kitchen six months ago. We installed them four months ago. Last night, I turned on the self-cleaning cycle for the very first time and woke to a kitchen full of tiny pieces of glass. A repairman will come in five days. If this is anything like the experience we had with the new dishwasher. We installed the dishwasher and I ran a load of dishes. All of a sudden, I noticed water gushing (damaged new hardwood floor), faulty part. It was three weeks before it was fixed. I ran two loads of dishes and the door latch stuck. A repairman came out two weeks later and used a tool to pick out the latch. He told my husband to pick out the latch if it did it again. I did not feel so good about that. One load and the same thing happened again. We called for repair, and it is two weeks before they can come out. We didnt hear from them in two weeks, so my husband called the service department and then the salesman. The third week, the part came in and they said the part was faulty. Now we have to wait for another two weeks before they come out and replace the faulty part. The dishwasher is working now and the oven glass exploded during the cleaning cycle. I feel like I lit a match to $10,300. I have read the comments listed and feel this exploding glass is an extreme safety issue. And to think I was so proud of my Kitchen Aid appliances. Why does this company not care about their reputation and customer satisfaction? What a headache and heartache. I wish I could turn back the clock and that money would have gone to another manufacturer that stands behind their product and cares about customer satisfaction.

Every single person in our development is having the same problems with their ice makers. Kitchen Aid is owned by Whirlpool. They put you on hold for 45 minutes before they pick up the phone to schedule a warranty person to come out. The service company that they used had to ask me how to turn the ice maker on and off. They are completely inept, its been over a month with a broken product and Whirlpool could care less. I have had this fridge for three years. We have been seeing issues with every feature on it. The lights won’t come on, the ice maker is malfunctioning, it won’t dispense water or ice. The fridge will turn off completely for hours and sometime days. My only saving grace is to unplug the fridge, wait ten minutes and plug it in. When I do this, the fridge goes back to normal for about a week.I reached out to Kitchenaid and they sent a tech to my house. The technician told me that there is a common error with the circuitry stemming from the deli drawer. If you read all the negative reviews you will see I am not the only one experiencing the issue. The technician did all his diagnostics and found nothing. He called the tech hotline for Kitchenaid and they told him this is a common issue with this model. The deli circuit and wiring needs to be replaced. They have done it to hundreds of this model. (READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.) The technician told me that even though there are many models that have gone through this, it is not covered under warranty. The parts start at $600 not including labour. When I called Kitchenaid back and told them of the issues and how this is a common issue, they did not deny this. They did say that yes there are a lot of negative reviews on here about this problem, as there are a lot of negative reviews about any product on the internet. They advised that even though it could be a manufacturer defect, the warranty is one year on this and they will do nothing for me. Marie from the Whirlpool Hotline was very adamant that regardless how many people are experiencing this issue, the warranty is one year. Kitchenaid will not repair the fridge, and I am on the hook for what should be considered a recall due to manufacturer defect.I have since reported the issue to the consumer protection act, and advised them that Kitchenaid is aware of the defect, even acknowledges it, but won’t repair or replace. I am not asking for cash back for the food that was spoiled, nor am I asking for a new fridge. I just want the defect repaired, but that is too much to ask outside of one year.

We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher 22 12552 last November. We are two seniors and we dont use the machine daily. So to our surprise, on Oct. 2, the machine went completely dead. No power. I called Sears and a technician came out and ordered the whole new board. We are waiting for it to arrive, but so far hasnt. Sears says its up to me to trace it and to call them tomorrow before 3 to tell them if the part is coming. This shouldnt be my job. I dont trust this machine, I want it replaced, to which Sears says no. It would be fine, but purchase the insurance for $150. This is a heck of a way to run a business. The machine is a lemon and should be replaced. Years past, I had a KitchenAid for 15 years without a service call, and now this unit isnt a year old and is having problems. Its up to the consumer to purchase insurance to keep it running. What a rip-off. This guy at Sears, Carlos, isnt working for the company--only Sears. Where do we have a consumer right? It doesnt wash completely and a huge residue is left on all the dishes. You cant look through the glasses.

Cannot vouch for the other ones. At delivery the unit looked great. No problems were visible. Suddenly three months later blemishes/spots/watermarks mysteriously appeared on the white front panel. I purchased six appliances when I upgraded my kitchen: refrigerator, range, microwave oven, trash compactor, and beverage center to the tune of $10,000. At this point, I would never recommend KitchenAid to anyone. The microwave broke and the part was never available. After months of arguing, I had to get a new one. The refrigerator’s thermostat went out and they did not make the part. I had to get a new refrigerator/freezer. Now, I ran the clean cycle on the oven and the oven overheated and locked up for the second time. The oven is now not operable and I will have to pay a service man to put in another new thermostat. My research shows over 400 complaints. These ovens are a poor design and the self-cleaning feature cannot be used. In addition, I have had to have the trash compactor repaired. The appliances are 36 months old. And when I call KitchenAid, they really dont care to resolve the issues. Very frustrating!

My husband and I purchased all KitchenAid products for use in a new home we were building in late December 1997. In the first cleaning of the double-wall oven, it locked up; and we had to have the service man from Sears come out and fix it. Since that time, I have had some trouble with the touch pad working and then not working. About 2 weeks ago, I called Sears; and they sent a repair man out to fix this problem. He informed me that the part for my Superba KitchenAid double-wall oven had been discontinued and that I had probably paid $2,700.00 for this oven. Much to my amazement, because we purchased so many kitchen appliances, I had no idea we had paid this price. Nonetheless, he informed me he had other customers whom he had tried to get parts for and gave me very little hope of ever finding the part to repair this oven. So I called KitchenAid and was told it had been discontinued and hopes of finding part number 4451292 was going to be very unlikely. I proceeded to get onto the internet on Ask.com and found a repair site. I did some research and found it has been discontinued and that they dont have any idea of anywhere to get this control pad fixed or purchased. I feel that, after reading all the other complaints on these same malfunctions, there should be some kind of enforcement that KitchenAid or Sears should have warned the public at the time of purchase as to the approximate time you have to get parts for such expensive items. My oven is almost new inside and out. I and my husband (who is now deceased) worked out on the road for many years, and use of this oven was very limited due to us always being gone out on the road. The bottom oven has been used maybe 3 times, and the top oven has not been used hardly at all, compared to my KitchenAid microwave, which we both used all the time.when we were home. My guess would be that it would about compare a thousand or more to one. The touch pad on my microwave is still doing super. After viewing all the complaints on this model number KEBS277DWH1, part number 4451292, and the issues all of us are having with these ovens, I would hope that someone would stand up for us in a class action lawsuit. These products are very expensive, and nobody is helping the consumers on this product problem. Please someone stick up for all of us who need someone who can make this company responsible for such inadequate products. As of today, I have no ovens to cook Easter dinner in, because nobody has a part to repair this. And I am a widow and havent the money ($3,500.00) to buy another one. This is what repair.com wants for another one. Im very dissatisfied and angry with the outcome of all the work and research done and to get nowhere. Help!

I had a KitchenAid Dishwasher KITCHENAID CLASSIC SERIES KUDC10IXSS installed in February of 2012. I live alone. I run the dishwasher two or three times a week. This unit has failed on me repeatedly. It failed while it was under warranty, then it failed again right after the warranty expired. KitchenAid took care of that repair, but that repair failed again today. This units control system is faulty. I dont know if it is a design or manufacturing issue, all I know is that if you are going to spend your money on a major appliance, KitchenAid is not the brand to spend it on. I doubt I am alone with this problem. Purchased brand new stove, fridge and dishwasher (all Kitchenaid). Fridge and dishwasher so far are fine (its been a month) but the stove...MAJOR DESIGN FLAW! (model # KGRS303BSS1) Gas range will cause injury during normal use! I was using the top burners and oven at the same time to cook dinner (because people use stoves to eat) and after having it on for about 15 minutes or so, the knobs get SO HOT you BURN YOUR HANDS! This lesson was learned after my 20-month old son decided touching the knobs was a good idea and burnt both his hands. They stupidly put the venting for the oven in the FRONT of the stove just under the knobs for the burners instead of at the back of the range like most companies do. WHY? THIS IS STUPID! So, after being on hold and on the phone for almost AN HOUR, WAITING for the rep to schedule a technician to come out to look at the range to see there indeed is a design flaw when he can just look at a picture of it online as its THE SAME THING. So I hung up and decided to advise anyone and everyone NOT to purchase this stove unless youd like to burn yourself and your children every time you want to use the stove. Not to mention the RIDICULOUS wait times for the phone reps to do anything. Do not waste your money on this stove... and it wasnt cheap to begin with. Shame on you Kitchenaid!

KGRS505XSS30 - We are now on our SECOND KitchenAid stove (identical model) because we bought from a very reputable dealer and he had sent his service department out several times and finally just ordered us a new stove. So far, the oven is working okay but the knobs are definitely a safety hazard!!! When I go to clean the back of the stove, the safety knob, yeah right, will turn and flame up. I have burned paper towels, etc.Saturday, my son just reached to pick up a pot holder on the back of the microwave and a few minutes later we all smelled a foul odor. I went into the kitchen and the knob had simply moved enough to turn the gas on, but not the flame!!! Glad we had no smokers in the house. We had to raise windows and use fans to remove the gas fumes. DANGEROUS and should be recalled but after reading the reviews, it is obvious that KitchenAid could care less about safety. I have a aid mixer and am happy with that but will NEVER buy any of their products again.

I purchased a KitchenAid stove in 2006. In 2008, the electrical panel needed to be replaced. The electrical panel again has once again failed me, and the company says Im on my own because the warranty for electric has expired and it’s not a quality issue. First off, this is an ongoing problem with the electrical panel which is an obvious quality issue. Also, there is a slight bend on the front of the stove which causes water to seep in and destroy the panel over time. KitchenAid customer service could care less and left me hanging out to dry. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again and I highly advice anyone interested in this product to stay as far away as possible. Bought a complete line of KitchenAid products for a remodel job on my kitchen a year ago. Purchased the products in April 2017 but did not install them until the first part of June. The KRSC503ESS side by side, counter depth refrigerator does not cool properly. In December 2017 I notice the refrigerator was warm and the bottom drawer was not going in all the way. There was an ice build up at the back of the refrigerator. Also, the freezer was not cooling properly. Call for service and they replace a fan motor and thermistor. The unit seem to be working fine until this week. Same problem. Pulled everything out and turned the refrigerator off for 24 hours to let it thaw out. Turned it back on and everything is working fine again. I personally feel there is a bad design in this unit. The bottom doors are against the cooling unit in the back of the refrigerator. I feel this will continue forever.I call for service again and now KitchenAid and the extended warranty company are saying its not their problem. The KitchenAid service said that I might be responsible for the service call if they come out and find it is not a warranty issue for them. Additionally, the ice maker makes loud noises when it dumps the ice in the ice container. It does wake me up at night. I thought KitchenAid was suppose to be the higher end of appliances, but boy, was I wrong. Hindsight being 20/20, I should have done my homework a lot more. Never again.

I put a small potato in microwave and set the automatic feature. Within a few minutes the smoke detector in the dining room went off and I noticed that the microwave was on fire. About 3/4 of the potato was completely burned to a black crisp while about 1/4 of the same potato was burned but no black. The fire was so hot that the microwave plate was burned. This was my second experience with a fire in a Kitchenaid microwave. The first time was during the warranty period 2 years ago. The company was supposed to have fixed the problem.

My mother-in-law, like many people of her generation, swore by the quality
My mother-in-law, like many people of her generation, swore by the quality of KitchenAid dishwashers. We have always bought them until now. Reading the complaints on the internet it is apparent that these dishwashers were once of high quality, but that this is no longer so. We bought one a little over a year ago to replace a 20 year old trouble free model (without doing any research). As predicted by the complaints on the internet, the top shelf failed within a year. We have had several service calls for other reasons and today we decided to simply pull out the KitchenAid, throw it away, and install a Miele (without great hopes). So, why has KitchenAid become so bad. The first thing to note is that Whirlpool now owns Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana and many other brands due to a purchase in 2008. They are all one company and, in a published peer-reviewed study (you can find it at the National Bureau of Economic Research website), it has been established that prices for dishwashers made by this mega-company increased and the number of models declined. In other words, Whirlpool has virtually no domestic competitors. Your only choice is foreign or domestic. Get used to it. The practical effect is that prices for dishwashers of the same quality have actually increased more than the above study indicates. It is a sad comment on an old American brand.

I purchased a new KitchenAid dishwasher 1 year ago! Model #KDTE104ESS. It’s a piece of garbage. I was taken by KItchenAid. The dishwasher has tore up 2 times and had to have the repairman. Before it was a year old. It still doesn’t work correctly! It doesn’t clean the dishes. I prewash the dishes before I put them in. I paid almost $1,000.00 for this dishwasher and it doesn’t clean the dishes at all. I have to rewash the dishes by hand. It was a waste of money. I will never buy another Kitchen Aid product. Buyer beware.

In April, I unfortunately spent $9,000.00 on KitchenAid/Whirlpool appliances. Since then, I have had problems with the refrigerator. 3 service calls! Now it is Christmas Eve and the refrigerator is not cooling. I am having 22 people to dinner on Christmas. The repair man came and told me that it needs a new compressor. To make matters worse... it needs to be ordered. A 6 month old refrigerator should not need a new compressor! Obviously, it is a lemon. Called Customer Service. Apparently, KitchenAid has no customer service. I requested a new refrigerator because I do not want to keep fixing a defective product. What happens when the warranty runs out? Spoke to a CSR and her supervisor. Just kept reciting the script. Under my warranty... the compressor is a replaceable part so I can not get a new refrigerator. I know that the CEO Jeff Fettic wouldnt want the repaired defective refrigerator either! So then I asked KitchenAid to find a compressor and install it so I can host the XMAS dinner. I was told that is not possible. Best they could do was overnight it and since tomorrow is Christmas, the part would not be shipped until Thursday. KitchenAid is not only ruining my Christmas dinner but it sounds like I wont have a working refrigerator for a while. Not even sure if they really are having the part overnighted. Bottom line.... KitchenAid does not care about a customer once you buy their products. No effort on their part, no matter what the circumstances! I am up the creek regarding my Christmas Dinner and they dont give a damn. Additionally, KitchenAid doesnt want to replace the refrigerator because they will get more money for all the parts the defective unit will need in the future. Or maybe I will buy an extended warranty! Do not buy KitchenAid. It is now December 27th and I still do not have a working refrigerator!

The dishwasher cleans the dishes reliably without worry! It was purchased in 1993 and it is still running great! It is a standard size dishwasher with a place separate for utensils. It is the top of the KitchenAid line at that time. It is the standard KitchenAid Superba from 1993. It has a black, shiny front with chrome control buttons. I have owned this dishwasher for a very long time. I have had one service call on it. I hope it lasts forever! The newer units are said to be less reliable and not as good at cleaning. I love this dishwasher. I am very pleased with it!

Assurance is extended warranty company? Started sending AAA appliance out, theyve replaced everything inside at least once, some twice. Still doesnt make ice and leaks. Now refrigerator completely stopped working. Service just left after stating that the main control board is fried. The servicer said he wouldnt even touch it until I spoke with KitchenAid because they no longer make the part and they will have to decide what will be done. Our Kitchen Aid Model KFIS29PBMS00 is about 16 months old. We purchased a higher end appliance thinking it would last. It is the loudest (grinding noises) refrigerator I have ever had/heard, but we have dealt with that. When the unit recently stopped cooling we found it was under warranty. When the service technician saw which model it was, he said I knew what the problem would be. It needs a new compressor and evaporation unit. Unfortunately, the fastest it can be repaired is 5 days. Having children and no refrigerator is quite a problem when it comes to eating. Everything in the unit is a total loss. And despite being under warranty, there is nothing Kitchen Aid does to help you during this time with no way to cool food. No loaner and they wont just replace this faulty unit. This is really not customer service. Do not buy this model and if you can help it, do not purchase from KitchenAid because if you have a problem, despite a warranty, it will be a loss.

We bought the KitchenAid refrigerator on Sept. 15, 2015 and it arrived with a non-working ice maker. We purchased it from a local Eugene, OR company rather than a big box store. My wife wanted to support a local business. When called about the non-working ice maker that dealer said wait 72 hours to see if it comes on because sometimes it takes that long. Had we known that we could not have made the purchase. Other manufacturers provide ice makers that begin work immediately (e.g., GE or LP). When it did not work 72 hours later we called the dealer again and he said he would call KitchenAid (KA) about warranty service. KA called a couple days later to say the parts were on order and would be ready in about 5 days. Nothing happen after 5 days and our dealer has not been any further help (Appliance and TV Center, Eugene, OR). Given the fact that the refrigerator arrived broken and there appears to be no KA service, we regret this purchase. Others in the market would be well-advised to avoid KitchenAid and look to GE or LP whose appliances have worked well for us.

This unit did not work particularly well from the start. Lightly soiled dishes were not clean, even after the excruciating 3.5 hour cycle. A foul smell developed as old water would not clear the system despite regular cleaning of the filters. A pump broke after only 2 months. It was fixed under warranty, but the performance was still poor. Just after a year, the end of the warranty, the pump broke again. We decided to junk it. Why throw good money after bad? Our previous dishwasher (Kenmore) lasted 18 years without a repair. The gaskets went and it was looking tired, but still cleaned well. The KitchenAid did not work well from the start and was nothing but trouble. KitchenAid customer service was no help as well.

BUYER BEWARE...DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID. I have read the comments made by many people regarding the refrigerators but I have another issue with KitchenAid/Whirlpool. The Plate on the bottom of my electric oven states that the Country of Origin is Canada..I provided the appliance pamphlet and layout information to my service repairman and he noted that that pamphlet said that only US-made models have a fuse so after his inspection determined that the reason the oven was not working was because of the Circuit Board and subsequently ordered. When the part was received and put in, the oven still did not work. The repairman did another detailed inspection and found a fuse and it was blown. The pamphlet specifically states that only US models have a fuse. I will take this matter further to determine what agency regulates mislabeling of Country of Origin. With all the deception detailed by the many complaints by homeowners, there must be a reason why KitchenAid/Whirlpool mislabels the electric ovens and I suspect mislabeling may give some sort of money advantage. In addition, as most of the complaints state, KitchenAid customer service is horrible and when I furnished them with supporting documentation, they would not even try to justify why the Country of Origin was misrepresented or direct me to anyone that could address the problem. The age-old adage, keep on stalling and the complainant will probably give up and go away. If not for the mislabeling, the repair cost me $600 instead of $2 to replace the fuse.

I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher a year and a half ago. When I moved in the house, there was a perfectly good working dishwasher in the kitchen, only problem was it was from the 1970s. I replaced it with a sleek stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher. It worked flawlessly until just after the warranty expired. First, the top shelf did not get very clean despite my efforts to clean the jets. Then the rollers of the top tray broke making it very difficult to operate the tray. I suspect this is why it is not cleaning well because the tray is misaligned. Now, the dishwasher often does not work at all. It beeps and nothing else. It even beeps if both trays are removed. KitchenAid was not helpful at all when I contacted them. Avoid!!!

We bought a 29 cu. ft. French Door stainless refrigerator model KFIV29PCMS
We bought a 29 cu. ft. French Door stainless refrigerator model KFIV29PCMS in 2013. We had repairmen out three years in a row. Each time required several visits. The air tower, ice maker evaporator fan, two fresh food evaporators, valves, a compressor, and a UIn were all replaced. We were out of a refrigerator for 18 days one time and over a week this last time. On one visit they sent a repairman out only to say that he couldnt fix it as it is a closed system. Every time its something different. We have had frost on the top left shelves with water leaking into them, water coming out of the ice dispenser, ice building up on the freezer drawers, water on the floor, and it just quit working. Although we had insurance, it only paid $300 for spoiled food. We have lost more than that. It is always so inconvenient to schedule time for them to come, then reschedule when the part finally comes in. I have complained to Good Deals where we bought it. I dont think they should sell appliances with so many problems. I complained to KitchenAid but all they did was take my complaint. Needless to say I have complained to the repair place,Gulf Appliance. My old Sears refrigerator lasted 26 years without even a service call, and it was a fifth of the cost. I cant believe a company cannot do a better job making an appliance. Did they even test them before putting them on the market? Apparently not. I will never buy another KA fridge again. Our microwave, stove, and oven are all ok but I wonder if they too will go out soon.

Email to Trail Appliance: I meant to email you earlier but weve been away. All appliances are in and look great. Were just wondering though if a support might be missing from the fridge. Ive attached a couple of pictures to show what I mean. The shelf above the two crisper drawers seems to be missing a middle support? Because as soon as you put any items on it, it really sags in the middle. You can see the glass shelf separating from its white plastic rim and then gap between two crisper drawers getting wider at the bottom. Are we missing a piece or is there anyway to fix this? It seems such an obvious flaw. Trails response: I have checked both units on the floor and neither have a little support... so sorry... It does seem odd that it does not though. My last email to Trail: So what are our options? I must say every time I open the fridge door - what I see (that sagging shelf) is unacceptable. I thought we were upgrading our 17 year old appliances - but it appears not, and Im sure that anyone else who has bought this fridge would be experiencing the same issue. So just wondering what my options are? Does KtichenAid stand behind the supposed quality (or lack thereof) of their products or are we on our own? And what about Trail Appliances? Where do they stand on selling crap (pardon the harsh language) like this? Suggestions? Waiting on response to this last email - but would NOT recommend buying this fridge for this reason.

We purchased a KitchenAid SuperBa double oven KEBC207KSS05 a couple of years ago and have had it repaired 4 times already. Two times because the control panel went out because it got too hot the repair person said. The fan became very loud and we had to replace that and the fourth time was because the upper oven stopped working but the lower oven still worked. Since the fan was replaced, the oven still makes the control panel get too hot and everything totally shuts off. After it cools down, the panel comes back on. Cant bake anything over 375 degrees it appears, or it shuts off. One piece of advice from the repairman, besides not using the self clean is to cut a large rectangle out of the side of the cabinet and put a steel vent cover over the hole. I shouldnt have to cut a part my cabinet in order to have this crappy oven work better. The double oven we had in before the KitchenAid was a Kenmore from 1992 and still worked perfectly and never gave us a lick of trouble. Now we need to scrap this one and look to spend money that we shouldnt have to. Its so hard to believe that the workmanship at KitchenAid is so bad. Where is their pride?

We have other Whirlpool and KitchenAid products, and the process is always the same. Our Whirlpool dishwasher is designed with too small of a draincock, and it constantly blocks up. I am a repairman, and I am tired of coming home and fixing these ** things. However, in the past 8 months the control panel has gone out THREE times! At $150 for the part, and another $150 for service call and labor to replace it, it has reached the point of absurdity. Background: Purchased $6500 of appliances in November of 2010. Refrigerator, Oven/Cooktop combo, Dishwasher, and cabinet mounted Microwave. The only one weve not had issues with is the Microwave. Lets work in the order they are listed: 1> Refrigerator, YEAR 2 >> Freezer door would not properly close. 2 service calls later issue fixed. YEAR 5 >> Out of Warranty. Defroster drain line plugged with ice leaving the interior of the freezer coated in ice and the automatic defroster in operable. Went online, researched the issue and cleared the blockage after two hours of work. Year 6 >> Louder than usual noise when compressor running. Called my Appliance Technician, of thirty Years. Diagnosis issue as one or more bad springs in the compressor, allowing compressor rotor to contact the compressor housing. Contacted KitchenAid, explained the issue. Set up an appointment for the AM, two days later. Next day received phone call from the assigned Appliance Repair service saying they had an appointment scheduled for the PM next day. I explained I was told the appointment was for AM. They said no. They made it for the PM. Okay, right hand doesnt know what the left hands doing. Was also informed there would be a $109.00 service fee for coming out to diagnose the problem. Told them what my Technician had diagnosed. Said they would have to look at it. I asked how much the repair would be if it was compressor. They told me it would be a flat fee and wouldnt be able to quote me an estimate until THEY diagnosed the problem. I asked if the service call fee would be applied to the cost of the labor. They said no, it would be in addition to the labor. Called KitchenAid again. Asked if the parts could be sent to my Appliance Repair Technician? They said no, they could only be sent to a certified Appliance repair shop. KitchenAids definition of a certified shop is one that has a contract with them. Anyway. No other options, called Payless Appliance back and kept the appointment. Technician arrives, listens for the noise, He said the compressor was running and the only noise he could hear was coming from flap/door that allowed Freezer air into the Refrigerator to keep the Refrigerator at the correct temperature. I told him that the noise he was hearing was not the same rattling I would hear when the compressor was running. He said the compressor was running and that was the only noise coming from the unit. During the diagnosis process the Technician opens the Freezer drawer and says its not adjusted properly, and thats most likely whats causing the ice build up in the freezer. He adjusted the drawer. $109.00 later, Freezer drawer is more difficult to open and close and the noise is still there. I inquired if there would be another service call fee when the noise returned. He said, yes, there probably would be since the only thing he could hear was that door/flap noise.Dishwasher: Year 4 > Out Of Warranty. Control Panel starts flashing codes. Called my usual Appliance Tech. He diagnosed the issue as a defective heating coil. Ordered the part and called me when it arrived and was able install it the same. When I ask for a bill, He quoted me the cost and told me to use the Dishwasher for few days to make sure that took care of the issue.Oven: Year 1 >> Under Warranty. Cooking dinner, and the oven starting flashing an over heat error message. Attempted to the oven off, but no controls worked. Checked the trouble shooting section of the owners manual and still nothing worked. Not sure if the oven was still on, I shut off the power at the circuit breaker, waited an hour and turned the power back on. Unknown what the issue was but it has not happened again. Bottom line: $6500.00 worth of Appliances and only one of four has been without issues. Will never purchase another KitchenAid, Whirlpool or any other Appliance made by that group.
