I purchased all new appliances from Lowe’s along with a extended warranty
I purchased all new appliances from Lowe’s along with a extended warranty. My stove around the burners started chipping paint: I called my warranty and they said it was cosmetic! I called KitchenAid and they did have someone come out that replaced the top. He said that the stovetop grate wasn’t tall enough for the stove and it would probably happen again, within no time it started chipping again! I called again but nothing has been done because they replaced it once. My very expensive black stainless stove looks like crap! Model KFGG500EBS2. We spent over 7000 dollars KitchenAid! Fix your stove grate!

The valve that allows water to shut off in the dishwasher freezes open causing the water to flow out of the front of door and flood your floor. The first time I was standing there and thought the door may not have closed. About 4 months later I was not there and it flood the kitchen, into the hall and living room. Called Sears. They sent a repair guy. He saw the water did not turn off even when you opened the door of the dishwasher, he said these valves have a problem and sometimes it is intermittent. Sears tested the valve and of course it worked, so they said the water damage was not from that. So lesson learned take a video. So where else did the water come from? Spent $800 for a turn off valve for dishwasher under sink and plumber said no leaks. Need this valve because I do not trust this dishwasher, will be looking at Bosch.

Purchased over stove microwave 3-4yrs ago. KHMC1857BSSO. The microwave was rarely used and there is a crack in the plastic seal around the door, KitchenAid refused to fix it even though I have warranty. Now the door wobbles and gets jammed. Still under warranty, called customer service and they will not fix - calling it cosmetic. Do NOT purchase their extended warranty, its a ripoff. Extremely dissatisfied with KitchenAid and their customer service.

How does KitchenAid have an overall 4 star review on this site? All the recent reviews I have read sound SO familiar. All are equally deserving of the 1 star scored. Our experience is no different. We made the mistake of buying based on reputation. KitchenAid had a good reputation (past tense); thats about the sum of it. Very much appears the KitchenAid brand and reputation got flushed down the toilet when they went under the Whirlpool umbrella - both in terms of product quality and customer service. So, here is our story. We furnished our entire kitchen with KitchenAid appliances. Though we have had our appliances about 4 years, the failures started within months. The scratch resistant cook-top easily scratched. KitchenAid wouldnt honor. The bottom handle on the refrigerator has never attached correctly. KitchenAid doesnt seem to care. The dishwasher, however, is the gem! We have had to replace the soap dispenser three (3!) times. We have had to have the entire motor replaced. The wheels on the bottom tray ALL fell off. And, then just this evening, the digital control panel failed. Failure is the operational word here. KitchenAid appliances are a fail. Would NOT recommend to an enemy.

We have a KitchenAid Range Hood Microwave model KHMS155LSS-2. It starts and stops on its own. Now, an F2 code is popping up and then PAN. I called Whirpool safety at 800-331-7456. It is a known issue and they are sending the part and someone to fix it free of charge even though I bought the microwave in September 2005. Way to go KitchenAid and Whirlpool!

I always wanted to own a KitchenAid appliances Because they’re supposed to be on a higher brand. We finally renovated my dream kitchen and I bought all KitchenAid appliances except for dishwasher which I got a Fisher & Paykel 2 drawer one. Anyway after 8 mos since I bought the Counter depth refrigerator KRFC704FSS It started having a problem with the ice maker. Called in for a service and said they will replace it and in a week the cooling system started to have problems. I called again for service and the guy said it’s a thermostat and they have to order the parts. I called customer service to follow up on the order and they said that it needs to be replaced because they been having problems with the cooling and that the model 704 Is being pulled out and being discontinued so I need to find another model. There’s so much inconvenience on this considering it’s a KitchenAid brand name. I was heartbroken because I really love the fridge and the platinum interiors and its counter depth feature.

After six years, our microwave stopped working. A service repairman said he could fix it for $375, something to do with the panel door message. I figured I could go without the microwave for a while. Then after cleaning the oven, the glass shattered in the microwave. Heat must have risen and too hot. The oven still works, but the glass is still getting into the oven and on the floor. Of course, this model is discontinued. Im looking at GE as a replacement. Too bad as everything else in our kitchen is KitchenAid. I would not recommend anyone doing their kitchen with this company.

Bought a KitchenAid fridge, French doors, freezer on bottom two years ago for total kitchen remodel - all Kitchenaid appliances. I have had multiple programs with numerous appliances. I now have WATER from the ice maker coming out on my gorgeous hardwood floor and ruining the cherry cabinet around the fridge. My side-by-side fridge/freezer I bought 22 yrs ago from Sears and moved to the basement is working fine... NEVER required a service call. I used to be a KitchenAid fan. NO MORE. I would NEVER buy another KitchenAid product. No wonder they try so hard to sell extended warranties. They are selling junk and its NOT cheap.

We purchased the top of the line in the KitchenAid dishwasher - KUDS301VBL3
We purchased the top of the line in the KitchenAid dishwasher - KUDS301VBL3. This was the second KitchenAid dishwasher that I had owned. The first one I purchased was a workhorse. No problems, just got old and wasnt worth fixing. So I updated my kitchen and bought the new top of the line model. I am now waiting for a repairman to show up to fix the door that keeps breaking. This is the second time. There is something in the door that keeps slipping off and causes the door to slam down hard when it opened. I have a 16-month-old granddaughter who could easily pull on the door and suffer an injury if this door fell on her. I have called KitchenAid and left messages and so far have not been contacted by anyone. I had no idea that the quality of the KitchenAid appliances had hit such a low standard. This is the second time that this door thing has happened, so there must be a problem and KitchenAid needs to take responsibility and fix it before they have a lawsuit on their hands where a child has gotten hurt by this door malfunction. I am going to complain to all the consumer and product safety organizations that I can find on the internet.

Purchased four KitchenAid appliances three years ago for a complete kitchen
Purchased four KitchenAid appliances three years ago for a complete kitchen remodel. Very disappointed. The exhaust fan on the microwave is extremely noisy. The handles on my fridge are always needing to be retightened. Happily the dishwasher is perfect. But my biggest complaint, if you slightly bump the knobs on the gas range (KSGB900ESS0) it lets out gas. You wont even know this until you start smelling it. So even cleaning it you have to be very aware to look at the knobs and make sure they are in the off position. This is a major safety issue. If I cant find a recall, Ill probably just throw it away and buy another brand. I bought all KitchenAid from its reputation/reviews but would not recommend to anyone...

Im a building contractor. Ive installed many different brands of appliances, from the very expensive to the low end disposable ones. About twenty years ago KitchenAid made a good, reliable, and well priced fridge. It was easily installed with well thought-out and user friendly adjustments for installation. For years I felt confident in recommending KitchenAid as a well-balanced alternative to higher end appliances or European appliances. In 2009 I purchased the full KitchenAid kitchen. Everything about my KitchenAid kitchen has been nothing less than disappointing, from the supplier, to the service, to the parts supplier. KitchenAid is now the disposable appliance at a rich price. I WILL spend the extra, and buy European and will verify it is NOT made in China/PRC!

Bought Kitchen Aid mod-kuds35fxssi dishwasher. The control board failed 10 months after bought along with the top rack wheels and the jet spot dispenser leaked. Good thing I bought it from a local appliance store. They are authorized repair for what they sell, very good to deal with. Fixed the 3 issues .100 days later the control board failed again its only covered 90days after a repair so we called Kitchen Aid. They wouldnt do anything so we bought service plan. Meantime the top rack wheels broke. 90 days after bought service plan, we got control board repaired. The rack not covered we paid for rack repair. Now about 16 months after buying the dishwasher 4th set of rack wheels broke. We called Kitchen Aid, argued for some help. A free replacement part only was offered, we accepted. I installed it. Now the bottom wheel on right of the bottom rack falls off. Not what you expect from a Kitchen Aid dishwasher.

We remodeled our kitchen 2 years ago and purchased a KitchenAid Refrigerator, Microwave, oven range, and dishwasher. About a year ago we started having issues with our refrigerator. First the ice maker then the water dispenser and then the circuit board. We have had repairmen come out 6 different times trying to fix the problems. Finally after the 6th attempt the repairman said it was unrepairable and notified our warranty company...What a flipping joke!!We contacted Sears where we bought the appliances from - useless. They did not care even though the warranty company is Sears Home Warranty, every time we tried to contact them we could not get through and when we did there was never a Supervisor available and they would pass us along to their main office and all we would get was a voice mail box. They finally called us back to say all they can do for us is offer us $247.00 for replacement (of a $3500 refrigerator that is 2 years old). DO NOT PURCHASE KITCHENAID REFRIGERATORS! Have a side by side since 2012 and have lost refrigerant multiple times. They cannot seem to fix the problem and insist their service techs come out. Service tech was useless and the problem that was fixed is broken yet again. They are now telling me I will be responsible for the diagnostic visit and depending on what is wrong, may have to pay to get it fixed. I have had technicians out more times than I can count. Also the drawers broke the first year I had it and I tried to fix them. After a while, I bought new ones, which broke again after 2 months. I am done with this company not only because the appliance is junk, but they wont stand behind their product.

3000.00 KitchenAid (purchased in 2014) refrigerator truly a loud disappointment. The buzzing sound from this fridge is so loud we can hardly hear each other talk. I have to crank the volume up on my tv to hear it. I can not afford to buy another refrigerator. This one is only just over a year old. I purchased a refrigerator from HH Gregg. My one year KitchenAid refrigerator broke down right before the warranty was up. They had to put in a new compressor - after one year the fridge was toast. It took me many calls to KitchenAid/Whirlpool to have them provide a reputable servicer. The first one, provided by HH Gregg (A&E Factory Service) took my fridge apart and left, never to return. The second, VIA Services came and fixed the fridge, but now after one month is it not working again. KitchenAid said it is no longer under warranty even though it is the same problem. NEVER buy a KitchenAid Whirlpool product. The company has no integrity and their products STINK! Stay far away.

KitchenAid Model KDFE304DWH0 Dishwasher - We purchased this new dishwasher
KitchenAid Model KDFE304DWH0 Dishwasher - We purchased this new dishwasher 3 months ago. Its very quiet and appears to clean dishes reasonably well, although we rinse our dishes thoroughly before putting them in the dishwasher. The problem is that it doesnt dry dishes well, even when the Heat Dry option is selected. The flatware basket and its contents are especially wet, as are the sides and door of the dishwasher itself.Weve had a service technician out 3 times, and he doesnt seem to know what to do to fix this problem. The second time he came out he replaced the controller. That change didnt help the problem at all. The last time he had a KitchenAid engineer on the phone trying to come up with a solution. Still no solution. We suspect this is a design flaw rather than defective manufacturing problem. Has anyone else encountered this problem on this model?

My built-in microwave (KBMS1454SSS) stopped working properly while still under warranty. On advice from the KitchenAid customer service department, I took the microwave to the local factory authorized service center where I spent $234.85. I took the microwave back home and reinstalled it, but it still didnt work. I took it back to the local factory authorized service center and, after eight days, he told me there was nothing more he could do.I called the KitchenAid customer service department again, and they said my only option was to get a second opinion which, of course, I had to pay for. They sent A&E factory Service to my house ($128 for a service call) and the technician ordered a part, came out two weeks later to install it, and that part did not fix the problem. After six visits (each of which I had to take off work and wait at my home for the repairman), the technician finally deemed my microwave unrepairable. He put that in writing and instructed me to contact KitchenAid for a replacement unit. One month, twenty phone calls, numerous promises of call-backs, and several supervisors later, KitchenAid offered to replace my microwave (they called it a pro-rated exchange) for $990. I explained that I had already spent $400 to repair the $1100 unit that I had, and that an additional $990 hardly seemed fair to replace a high-end unit that did not work. They agreed to drop the pro-rated exchange price to $468. I told them that us unacceptable and they said, Were sorry, thats all we are prepared to do.This is a very attractive unit and I thought I was getting the best when I bought KitchenAid, but after this five month-long process of trying to get my problem solved, I could not be more dissatisfied with the KitchenAid customer service department.

Our kitchen aid refrigerator, which is just about 5 years old, has an offensive odor when the door is ajar. We have thoroughly cleaned it with baking soda, have 2 baking soda canisters in the refrigerator. Two different repair people (factory authorized) have come, but done nothing to resolve the issue. I am completely surprised that after spending $2500.00 on a refrigerator, that functions well and initially looked great, am now, after less than a year into owning this refrigerator, now has rust spots all over the refrigerator doors. These rust spots initially started as pin-head size but now are growing larger and more numerous. After I was able to get hold of customer service who finally routed me to the correct person (after quite a bit of time on hold), I shared with this person what my issues were. He explained to me that this happens and that there was nothing he could do about it. I continually pushed him on this issue explaining that it made no sense for a top/high end brand to have issues like this. He eventually conceded and said that he would ship all three doors and that I should schedule a time with my local KitchenAid service techs. He then said that if this occurred again that he would not be sending a new set of doors and that, this was it, no more. When the service tech showed up he explained that this always happens with this refrigerator and to be prepared for it to happen again. This is ridiculous. I would be fine if this was a one time thing, but to told by not only the local service technician but the KitchenAid customer service rep. as well, that this is something that, just happens is absurd. In addition to this, it took 90 days for the doors to arrive and after they did, it was found that they sent in two left doors! I have now been informed that I will have to wait 60 days for the right door. The local service rep that KitchenAid directed me to, did a poor job of installing the doors that I did receive, they were not aligned, the gasket was stuffed into the door so that there was heat exchange from the outside causing an improper seal so that moisture began to collect along the seams. ALSO, the door that they did send had a torn (or cut) gasket. Again, this is ridiculous that such a high end brand would affiliate with poor field techs, and send damaged product. Im beside myself and at a loss.Id say, if you are thinking of purchasing this product, STEER CLEAR. Due to my experience with KitchenAids customer service and the my experience with this particular product, I will NOT be purchasing any product from KitchenAid, and will do my best to dissuade others from doing the same. Let me add that I am using the manufactures suggested cleaning product. The KitchenAid rep initially tried to suggest that the rust spots were due to me and improper care and cleaning.

Do I have to give even one star? I would rather have neon or negative stars. I purchased the full range of KitchenAid equipment (microwave, dishwasher KUDS02VR and gas range, architect II). Fortunately for us, we also purchased the extended warranty even though I thought with top end equipment we probably would not need it.The microwave has had multiple call outs over the 4 years of owning the piece: F2 errors, cooling fans that dont just turn on but partially start then stop then start for a second then stop and start for 10 minutes or so at a time. Its driving me nuts! The dishwasher has trouble cleaning anything. It leaves dishes dirty and the glasses have developed white film on them. Dishwasher has gotten clogged and according to the technician because we have the audacity to use it . We now use dishwasher magic every month.Range oven: First of all, the door lock keeps locking with an error when you use the oven above 400F and you cannot open the oven door until it has cooled down and you reboot the system by removing power, this you have to do multiple time before the door complies. We replaced locking mechanism, now it seems to work at last. Secondly, every time you use the clean oven function, the electronics go on the frizz. Now, we are without an oven again for a week while we get a technician to come again to look and hopefully fix the electronic issue.Through all this (including digital movies of the issues, pictures etc., sent to KitchenAid), the general response has been that all equipment works as designed. Works as designed! They should fire the designers and send the specs to some elementary school kids who could do a better job!I, for one, hate KitchenAid and will never buy another product from them again and will tell as many people as I can how lousy their products are.

I purchased a suite of appliances after a home renovation and recently took delivery. The refrigerator (Model KRFC704FBS00) has not worked properly since it was installed on January 10, 2018. The water on the door does not work at all, the door for the filter does not snap closed. The water was leaking so badly at one point I had to shut the water line off. I am on the my second service company and they still cant get it right. And that is just the refrigerator!!! Two of knobs on the stove were bent. The vented microwave above the stove has a handle that gets so hot you risk third degree burns if God forbid you forget to cover your hand before you pull the door open! I rarely use the dishwasher so I cant comment on that. PLEASE stay away from KitchenAid especially the Bella series!! I have learned that KitchenAid stopped making this series because of so many problems but that does not stop stores selling this garbage. I am really upset with Whirlpool, the service companies , the salesman and the store on Route 35 in Middletown, NJ that sold me this mess!

This will be the 2nd time that I have had to call a repairman out to replace the thermostat in my Superba wall oven. Like so many other complaints Ive seen posted, there is something wrong if you cannot use the self clean function of your self-cleaning oven. To pay this kind of price (over $3,000) for a convection oven/microwave combo is a lot and you would expect a better product. First off, you pay extra for a self cleaning function but if you cant ever use it without it disabling your entire oven, then whats the point? So far on my oven combo unit, I have had to replace the glass in the door panel of the microwave, the glass in the door panel of my oven (no they were never hit by anything) and am now replacing my thermostat for the second time all because I wanted to use an option that I paid for: a self-cleaning option. Never again will I buy a product from KitchenAid or one of their related subsidiaries.

This Kitchen Aid gas range was less than a month old when the first stuck and shorted key message popped up. The oven would spontaneously try to turn itself on at random times. I had to keep it unplugged when not in use. Then it got so I couldnt turn it on. After four repair sessions (thank God I had protection plan), they replaced it. My biggest mistake was getting the same oven!! How could I have been so stupid. Less than a month after getting it, the oven timer would try to go on and it would keep beeping. Then when I tried to start baking temp, it would only go to 6 degrees and I couldnt push any other buttons. The thing is a piece of crap. We purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher (model # KUDS30IXSS4) about 3 1/2 years ago when we remodeled the kitchen. The plastic clips that held the upper rack in place broke 2 different times... This was shortly after the warranty expired so I paid both times for the repair. KitchenAid did finally replace this plastic clip with a metal clip on all of their dishwashers but they called it an upgrade and not a recall so they did not reimburse me for the almost $300.00 I had spent on previously repairing the faulty clips. Shortly after the plastic clips had broken the second time the dishwasher made a funny noise. I shut the washer off and then restarted it... Upon restarting it...it seemed fine... However, shortly after this it stopped cleaning the dishes...This was right in the interim when KitchenAid replaced the plastic clip and went to the metal. What we did not realize is that pieces of the broken plastic went down into the chopper/grinder and broke that section of the dishwasher. When the repair man finally realized what had happened we called KitchenAid. I asked KitchenAid to step up and take responsibility for the faulty design and they declined saying that there was not enough evidence/proof that it was faulty design. Needless to say I will never purchase another KitchenAid/Whirlpool product only because they will not step up and take responsibility for their product. Final note...this new repair will cost another $300.00.

Extremely dissatisfied with the KitchenAid product, warranty and customer service. I contacted them Feb. 5th 2015 to inquire as to the procedure to resolve an issue with the door of my microwave not opening. After a considerable time of answering questions, I was told that my unit was no longer covered under warranty. I then expressed the following info to the KitchenAid representative and offered copies of documentation:1/31/2014: Ordered 1/31/2014: Deposit $5412.50 4/22/2014: $3252.91 final pay 5/15/2014: Appliances delivered 1/16/2015: Moved in 1/19/2015: Microwave installed by Vassar Electric 2/05/2015: Door would not openYour representative stated that it did not matter, KitchenAid’s warranty is based on date of purchase (1/31/2014), not date of deliver (May 15, 2014) or the date of installation (1/19/2015). We were told by C&D Appliance that we had a deadline to order or the price would go up. We explained to them that we would not need the appliances for several months as the house was under total remodel. They said no problem as they would store them until we were ready so all the appliances were ordered at the same time and stored at C&D Appliance warehouse. We get a call one day that they needed to deliver the appliances as they need more room in their warehouse so we stored them in our shop area. Little did we know at the time of purchase that the warranties started on the day we ordered them which was also the date of invoice. It cost me $660.33 to use the microwave for 21 days. I also have no warranty on the KitchenAid dishwasher, the Jenn-Air cook stove and the Jenn-Air refrigerator, all of which are product lines of the Whirlpool Corporation. Adding insult to injury, I filed a product review with KitchenAid that they REFUSED to post!

As 32 others here have described, my KHMS155LSS-4 KitchenAid microwave turns on in PAN mode randomly after only 1 year of use. I left the door open to prevent it from recurring, but it beeps insistently. I ended up unplugging it. I called KitchenAid and they said it’s a known issue and will dispatch a no cost repairman. Having read the list of complaints here, I think I will start shopping for its replacement anyway. It sounds like this was a very bad model for KitchenAid. We also had the dishwasher door spring break just like others had described.

I am so glad I came here to read the reviews as I have a decision to make. I purchased this model Kitchenaid dishwasher which was to be installed today. It didnt work. The installer said it was either the washer motor or the CPU. Im not technically inclined enough to know the difference. He took it back to the store and brought out another one. It didnt work either. The suggestion was made that there was a problem with my power and/or water supply. My Kenmore dishwasher worked for 20 years on those resources.Store tested the machines and found that they were both defective. I was offered the opportunity to have them replace the defective part or get full credit and choose a different dishwasher. My confidence level was very low and it seemed akin to buying a new car, but let us put a new engine in it first. After reading these very helpful reviews, I shall select a different brand of dishwasher. Thank you all.

Last night our KitchenAid oven locked at the end of an hour long chicken bake at 350 degrees. I turned the bake knob off immediately. Within 15 minutes, the inside of the oven was on fire. Firemen arrived and by then, the glass front was broken and they put out the flames. Luckily, it was contained within the oven but of course, time for a new range now. Approx 10 years of use was fine for many years but this computer problem of locking and the very hot self cleaning feature just coming on by itself is ridiculously unsafe! Who knew a product could be so poorly designed that it would do this, start a fire by self locking and then heating up to serious temperatures!

We recently bought a used KitchenAid stainless steel stove. The control knobs are at the front of the oven and we discovered that they are easily turned on with even the slightest touch or bump. Unfortunately, when working in the kitchen, I did not notice that I had lightly touched the control knob which turned on the High setting. Within minutes the high setting ignited the oil in the pan on a front burner and flames were shooting up hitting the over-the-stove microwave oven. The flames covered the bottom edge of the microwave and the plastic edge melted.Luckily I was able to extinguish the fire, but my house has extensive smoke damage and could have completely gone up in flames. As well, the microwave oven is no longer useable. The stove knobs are a serious safety hazard as they can too easily be turned on with a light touch, a childs hand or even a dog sniffing the front of the stove. We are going to throw the stove out and never buy a KitchenAid appliance again.

An unusual problem occurred with my 1999 refrigerator. A screw broke inside one of the back wall brackets that hold the shelves. I called KitchenAid for an authorized factory dealer thinking their experience would know how to resolve the problem. KitchenAid informed me the cost to send someone would be $129 plus parts, and if the tech stated it could not be repaired, they would offer something towards the purchase of a new refrigerator. The tech was not able to get the broken screw out of the bracket. I called KitchenAid in his presence, and they refused to stand by their original statement. The tech called his employer, A&E Service Co. and was told to do the best he could. He claims he inserted another screw near the broken one and put tape across the top and bottom of the bracket to hold it. He said this is a temporary repair that might last 3 months and then I would have to buy a new refrigerator. A&E charged me $166.20. I complained stating that wasnt the quote I received, and the tech was not able to fix the problem. They said they will reimburse me $26. I feel because the refrigerator was not able to be repaired, I should be reimbursed the full amount (A&E Factory Service, 35 Melville Park Rd, Melville, NY 11747, tel.# 800-905-9605). The tech arrived on January 7. I spoke to KitchenAids repair department, customer service, and the sales department stating what I was initially told about partial compensation towards a new refrigerator. Each department refused based on the year of the appliance. This is a very unusual matter. The tech noticed only very light items are placed on the 2 shelves involved. He said he never saw anything like this in all his time as a repair person. He noted it wasnt weight that caused the bracket to separate from the back wall. Am I entitled to a full reimbursement from A&E since they could not fix the refrigerator and I will eventually have to buy a new one? Is KitchenAid responsible in any way?

Refrigerator Model KSC23C8EYY03 just a year old. Problem with ice forming behind bottom drawer in refrigerator section. Needs a new fan and thermistor. After waiting for parts and then put on the service schedule, the repairman came but had the wrong part. Now, again waiting for the part and to be put on the service schedule. Without a refrigerator for three weeks. Also, the fan is encased in styrofoam held together by tape. No wonder there is a problem. Also the reviews for the repair company sent by KitchenAid were not favorable. I found this out firsthand.Updated on 03/10/2016: In August I had ice built up behind the drawers in the bottom of the refrigerator. KitchenAid replaced the fan and thermistor. Seven months later, same problem. KitchenAid denied any problems with these parts.

The glass on my KitchenAid lower wall oven shattered (it was not on at the time). When I called KitchenAid they gave me the name of their local approved repair vendor. I ordered the part and paid the high price for a replacement. When the repair technician came to replace the defective part HE COULD NOT DO SO! The replacement part had not been manufactured properly. It was defective. The subject part was the outside glass pane attached to the stainless front panel. The glass was not centered and there was a 1/8 gap on one side and the other side was attached so that the part was twice as thick as it should have been. The thickness prevented the attachment screws from connecting. Obviously, Whirlpool is not familiar with the concept of quality control. The technician took the defective part back to their shop and ordered a new replacement. That part has the same defect! I am told that the vendor has tried several other suppliers and have not been able to find a non-defective replacement part.I never had trouble with replacement parts when Hobart owned KitchenAid! The Whirlpool organization negotiated the lowest price possible with their replacement parts vendor--probably in China--who gives Whirlpool their moneys worth and KitchenAid owners now suffer with the result. IT HAS BEEN SIX WEEKS and there is not a properly manufactured replacement part in sight!!!! This oven is almost twelve years old but for the price KitchenAid charges it should last one hell of a lot longer than that! Model: KEBC208KSSO, SN: XM4400465. Sadly, the approved Whirlpool vendor who is suppose to be repairing my oven door has not bothered to call me back since the first week this fiasco began.

We have a KitchenAid refrigerator. This refrigerator is less than 5 years old. It started having problems keeping the correct temperature. Called my service guy, he comes out, checks it out and states it has a freon leak. This involves the sealed system, a repair he does not do. Whirlpool was called and this issue was discussed. An authorized service provider from Whirlpool was sent out and yes it is a sealed system leak but he does not do sealed system repairs. I pay him his diagnostic fee. Called Whirlpool again and another provider is sent out to ascertain that yes it is a sealed system problem and guess what I get to pay another diagnostic fee. Whirlpool stated they sent out the first provider because they are on the List. Somehow this appears to be my problem that they sent out a company that doesnt do the repair that was clearly the issue per my appliance guy. I called to see if Whirlpool would cover one of these fees but nope. I wasted one hour and five minutes on the phone and got zero satisfaction. I also want to add that this repair parts and labor are covered under warranty so it seems doubly ridiculous that I have to pay two service fees. There will never be another Whirlpool, KitchenAid appliance in this house again.

From the very start it only cleans the dishes if you put them in clean. Salesmen said I could put dirty dishes in. Not unless you want them coming out dirty. Everything has to be thoroughly rinsed before they go in, the regular cycles takes hours to run. So disappointed. I had my first KitchenAid for 15 years and it was quick and cleaned like it should. Repair man said everyone is complaining about the same thing. He had to fix the runners on the upper shelf because they were plastic and cracked. I would replace this in a second if I could afford to throw out the expensive piece of trash that it is. Kitchen Aid Refrigerators Model KBFC42FTSOO - Shame on you KitchenAid. I ha
Kitchen Aid Refrigerators Model KBFC42FTSOO - Shame on you KitchenAid. I have several media contacts and once they report on all this I am hopeful that consumers will boycott your product. I also bought a 6300.00 refrigerator from the Great Outdoors in 2011. They were closing and since Sears owned them I purchased a floor model that was on display in a cabinet but had no power on to it. So I figured I saved 1100.00 between the brand new one. Wrong, I was told by the salesperson that it was a new model but when it was delivered and I tried to register it, it was manufactured in 2007. I called the store and Sears but since my receipt was stamped no refunds or exchanges they got me good. So now 3 years later the damn thing never worked right from the start and I have called it a piece of ** from the beginning. Guess what, my control panel out!! They do not have the part, tsunami story told and then broken contract with other company. I immediately called KitchenAid because I could not believe what this Tech was saying. Either I find an outside company with a rebuilt Control Panel or I can wheel the refrigerator to the side of the and basically its junk. KitchenAid confirm that they did not have the part and that the manufacturer was destroyed in the tsunami and the other company that has been listed several of these others complain are no longer is willing to make the control panels for them. I might have a chance of them rebuilding one for me directly and proceeded to provide the phone number for me which was wrong having to call them back and spend another 30 minutes on the phone. Another woman gave me two different phone numbers, none of them worked as well. After the third phone call I was provided with a company name and phone number they gave me that will certainly sell me a rebuilt one. I just paid $1200 for a rebuilt board. Interesting enough this company is offering a 10 year warranty on a rebuild control panel however KitchenAid only offers a one year warranty. I am sure kitchen Aid knew there was problems with this board for years. They should have recalled that or extend the warranty. I have never heard of a company not having a part in to be able to fix these refrigerator when people have paid so much money for them. Unless you have a money tree in your backyard and are able to pick enough for a new $8500-$10,000 refrigerator which I do not. They should stock the part and be able to control the market from other outside companies hiking it up prices to their desperate customers that just need their refrigerators fixed, realistically the part probably cost about $2.00 to make. I called KitchenAid as well, they said theyre putting in my case up for review to do the prorated. Its changed. From what Ive heard $1500 doesnt equal $6000 and these parts are not that expensive to obtain. This is absolutely the most hideous thing Ive ever seen a company do. This is the United States. This is a huge corporation. I hope everyone never buys a KitchenAid product again. Why would anyone in their right mind take $1500 for refrigerator thats worth more so we have no choice but to go to outside venues for these parts? Again outrageous, ridiculous and the most disgusting thing a manufacturing company can do. If they’re so willing to cough up the prorated amount why dont they do the right thing and at least split the cost of the part with the consumer if theyre giving them willy nilly numbers of outside companies and not controlling the market. Why would a company offer a 10 year warranty and not the manufacturer? I have purchased KitchenAid products for years. My whole kitchen is full of this top-of-the-line series. I will be slowly changing every single KitchenAid product out of my kitchen and if I am going to spend the money on that type of product itll certainly be Sub-Zero that offers a 12 year warranty from top to bottom on the refrigerators. There are hardly any bad reviews about Sub-Zero. KitchenAids competitors seems like they at least know how to stand behind their consumer. Shame on you KitchenAid. This is disgusting. Oh by the way, the tech Whirlpool factory care that KitchenAid called for me cause if I used someone else, my what little of a piece of junk warranty is left would be void. Charged me $145.00 for call and removal of board and oh by the way I have to have him reinstall the board for another $145.00. Cause warranty on motor and compressor will be voided if I reinstall. Pissed off!!

11 months into the purchase of our KitchenAid French Door Bottom Freezer, water started leaking onto our NEW hardwood floor, from the bottom of the freezer. Because of how new this was and no VISIBLE problem, we assumed it was an ice cube that dropped out, or something from the filtered water spout on the fridge. At 12 months, we investigated further and noticed the ice build up on the bottom of the freezer. The water was coming from here. The warranty on this had expired, of course. But, who could imagine that a pricey refrigerator such as this would only last 1 year? We got this repaired at our expense thru a certified dealer, so any other warranty would still be valid.Well after keeping careful watch on the bottom of the freezer, and scraping ice when we could, we have the very same problem again, a little more than 1 year later. Thick ice now, and of course water coming from the bottom. It seems this problem is systemic to the design of this product. This is not satisfactory to the consumer!!!

This is the second review I am writing about this oven. The first review I wrote was a couple weeks after it was installed and I gave it 5 stars. Its a beautiful oven. The stovetop/burners work great. The top oven is the one I use the most and at first it was fine, but after about a month, I noticed the blue interior is peeling off the base plate on the top oven and black splotches started appearing. I removed the base plate and tried to clean it but there wasnt anything on it. The blue was just disappearing in places. I took the oven plate back to the store I bought it at and they ordered a new one.The second plate started doing the same thing after only a couple of weeks. The blue coating is clearly not perfected and I really wonder if it is releasing chemicals or flaking off into the food. I cannot recommend this to anyone. KitchenAid - you need to do more testing before you release products into the market. I am a product developer - I know when something hasnt been tested appropriately. Im waiting for my third base plate to arrive but I am likely going back to the store to tell them to replace the oven. My preference would be to replace it with a different brand, but the over the oven microwave that a purchased at the same time is also KitchenAid brand (ut-oh).

Purchased in April 2013 in BrandSmart USA, model as per attached photo (french door) began showing signs of ice in the back upper left corner. A continuous noise (zzzz) non stopping, louder by the day until I called BrandSmartUSA service. One technician came and, after taking out the lower big drawer and removing the interior back cover, found a ball of ice covering the upper part of the evaporator. He removed the ice and said the evaporator needed to be changed. A few days after, he came back with a fan. Looks like his service experts didnt agree with his assessment and changed it to change the fan.He came back, upset when he realized instead of an evaporator, he got a fan. He removed again the lower drawer, the internal back cover to find out a perfectly functioning fan but an evaporator that is already forming ice again. Im the mean time, another technician came and his diagnostic was that the assembly behind the ice maker/water disposal (see picture, located on top, left inside corner) needed to be replaced. According to him this is the assembly that controls the cool air distribution and its malfunction causes the problems I am experiencing. According to him, it is a common problem of this model. So, after three visits of the technicians a less than two years old refrigerator still doesnt work properly. One theory: change the evaporator, Second theory: change the upper assembly. One thing is certain, I wont buy ever again a KitchenAid refrigerator and will think three times before buying appliances from BrandSmartUSA.

Purchased KitchenAid dishwasher about two years ago thinking we were paying more to get a quality product. It has been instead inferior and troublesome. Leaks from some undefined location that require we use and empty a drip pan. Plastic wheels breaking and not staying on track (dumping the full tray into the well) when sliding in full trays of dishes. Poor cleaning compared or prior cheapo washers. For many month after the purchase, we dealt with a bottom freezer door that would freeze shut and could not be opened without using tools. After four different repairs, the door was finally fixed. Just this month the freezer and ice-maker completely failed. Initially we were told it was a control board. Luckily, we had a second opinion (which we paid for) to find out what was really wrong. She said her husband had experience with soldering and circuit boards and was able to repair their refrigerator with a $5 capacitor, purchased at Radio Shack. Our $9,000 KitchenAid built-in fridge is 10 years old and required $1,500 in repairs for a faulty control board. The original control board is discontinued (my guess is because they found that it was faulty) and it will now cost even more for the repairman to rebuild the current board. I am not sure why this appliance costs so much when there is no noticeable difference between this fridge and our last homes fridge (except for the fact that it is built in) and clearly you are not paying for quality. For this price I expect better quality control and longer lasting products. When we replace this fridge I will definitely buy another brand. Apparently the fridge has had lots of previous maintenance as well. The company told us that they have been out to our house with the previous owners multiple times. Its shocking to me that a $8,0000-$9,000 appliance could require so much maintenance in the first ten years of its life. Dont waste your money - go with a company that is known for high quality, not just high prices.

We purchased our KitchenAid dishwasher in April 2012. During the 1st year, we had to replace the right upper dish assembly (the wheels), the door switch and control panel. Today we replaced the motor and pump assembly which was not covered by warranty! This cost us a dear $440.00 with the labour. We are just in the process of replacing the left upper rack assembly (warranty item). We replaced our original dishwasher (Kenmore) because of the colour and decided to get a KitchenAid because our other appliances are KitchenAid. This was a huge mistake. Our Kenmore never had a service call. We would never buy another KitchenAid product!! The next repair needed will see the dishwasher at the dump!!

We bought all new KitchenAid appliances for our renovated kitchen about three years ago. The refrigerator has gone out numerous times - we have to unplug it and plug it back in to make it come back on. Ice maker has stopped working at least 5 or 6 times. We’ve had a repairman out here at least four time who told us KitchenAid knows about the problems but doesn’t have a permanent fix. Our freezer quit working today for the third or fourth time. This is a crappy refrigerator. I’ll never buy KitchenAid products again.

I purchased a stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher from Lowes a few years ago to replace my 14-year-old perfect Whirlpool. The KitchenAid worked well for awhile, but suddenly the entire inside tub had a film on it, and now every glass, every utensil, every plate, etc., has a white film all over. I have tried everything - changing detergents, washing every dish thoroughly before loading into dishwasher, etc. Nothing has worked. I cant even clean the film off once it is on. After reading the reviews on this site, I feel like calling KitchenAid will only frustrate and upset me. This dishwasher was expensive and it is a huge disappointment. I would advise anyone to look at other brands first.

We had it fixed and again. We had to pay to repair the leak a second time and again water on my wood floors. Today, I came upstairs to find water all over the floors again! Plus, it hasnt really cleaned the dishes well in a long time. I am going out today and shop for a new dishwasher and will not even consider KitchenAid. And I had a KitchenAid stove for a very short time and had to go out and buy a GE because at Thanksgiving, the oven stopped working. You have to raise the rack up every time you put something in the 2nd rack. If you lower the 2nd rack so it doesnt hit the 3rd then you cant put plates on the 3rd or lowest rack. What a mess. We have had this range since March and it is a huge disappointment! On four different occasions the control panel has blown and shut down the power to the range. In order to restart it we had to reset the circuit breaker. After the second call to service we were told that we should put the stove on a separate circuit by itself. We hired an electrician and had a separate circuit put in for the stove. After the third outage KitchenAid replaced the control panel, but last week it went out again.Next problem is that the knobs and front panel get extremely hot when you run the oven for more than 30 minutes. You need a potholder to turn the knobs. Reported this concern to safety dept. who sent the serviceman again to test the temperature. It was 140 degrees at the knobs, but 160 is the legal heat level. A child could easily burn their hands. Lastly, the AquaClean does not work very well. The edges dont come clean and the large glass door is impossible to clean. There is heavy grease stains all on the glass that cant be removed. This range is not acceptable and is not recommended. There doesnt seem to be any resolution.

KitchenAid® 27-Inch Single Wall Oven, Architect® Series II - I purchased this Oven October 5, 2013. It was installed October 24, 2013. On December 31, 2013 it stopped working. I called for service and they could not get to me until January 6, 2014. The serviceman came out that morning and took a look at the oven and found that the fuse had blown in it. Lucky me they did not have one in stock and they had to order one. The fuse came in on January 8, 2014 and they came out and installed it. I did not use the oven again until January 14, 2014 because of some other issues in my kitchen. January 14, 2014 I turned it on and used it to bake something. It worked fine. I walked away from it after I was done baking and came back about 45 minutes later and it had died again. It will not come back on. My guess is that it is the fuse again. I would not recommend this oven to anyone!!!!! At this rate I will have a serviceman at my house every week to repair this oven. I called a supervisor at Kitchen Aid January 16, 2014 and they want me to keep the oven and they want to extend the warranty. This will happen when some place freezes over!!!!

We purchased new Kitchen Aid Appliances for a total kitchen remodel 3 1/2 years ago. We also purchased the extended warranty from the people who sold us the fridge (Kitchen Aid Counter Depth Refrigerator with French Doors), range, and dishwasher. Both the range and the fridge have had problems within 2-3 years of use. The range had warranty (from the extended warranty coverage) repairs 3 separate times! Now, the fridges water valve stuck open and flooded the kitchen floor which is 3/4 inch tongue and groove maple hardwood. The extended warranty people (Repair Master) will only cover fridge repairs. (They deny they will cover any collateral damage.) We still have another year and a few months on the fridges extended warranty which would take it to the appliance being 5 years old. The extended warranty people said we have to go to Kitchen Aid for help with the floor damage. Just got off the phone with Kitchen Aid and they denied any obligation since their 1-year warranty was up. So, with what could be several thousand dollars of damage to the kitchen floor, we are forced to place a claim with our homeowners insurance! We have never paid more for appliances in our lifetimes (married 35 years) than we did for what was supposed to the top end appliances such as Kitchen Aid. And then, once Kitchen Aid has your money and a year out of you - you are on your own! We will never purchase Kitchen Aid again. They are simply not Worth IT! And the extended warranties are baloney too! You might as well save your money. Its too bad that big companies dont care about the little guy anymore! Think long and hard before you buy Kitchen Aid!

They spent a lot of money and the customer service is terrible. They have had to buy coolers and countless bags of ice to keep food in the house. I asked the customer service rep what they needed to do to have a new unit sent out. I was told, Nothing, your parents signed the extended warranty which states repair, it doesnt say replacement. Ok, here we go! I am writing this review in the midst of having to repair an only 2-year old KitchenAid KRFF507ESS01 refrigerator. I wish I had seen these consumer report reviews prior to purchase!! Please take my review seriously so that I can prevent someone else from making the same mistake!! The major issues started about 3 months ago!! First, we noticed a noise (maybe fan) coming from back of fridge... louder at some times than others. I also didn’t realize at time that water leaking from ice dispenser when in use had preceded the noise! I just previously ‘chalked’ that issue up because it didn’t occur all the time! After about a couple of weeks of the noise getting louder and softer, it went away! The bigger issue a couple of weeks later became that the fridge was not cooling properly... Supposed to be 37* in fridge. And at this point the ice maker was not working well; making a handful of ice cubes that were not fully formed! My husband and I ran through the manuals extensive list of troubleshooting advice but could not find the issue! We cleaned the front vent from dust thinking this may be the cause... This seemed to resolved issue or so we thought!! 2 days later the fridge and ice maker were malfunctioning again with same issues except the noise!! I also purchased a thermometer for fridge and freezer to see what internal temps were... 50* in fridge and 30* in freezer! I purchased these because there is no other way that fridge indicates internal temps??? Only set temperature is accessible from LCD panel!I called a repairman who walked in and immediately knowing the (common) issue from a bottom freezer fridge, pulled out the deli drawer which revealed ice formed completely covering condenser cover. He proceeded to tell me these are the worst refrigerators (bottom freezer) and also that they are not built to last more than a year before needing repairs! He said he recommends anybody purchasing one to get the extended warranty because the manufacturer warranty is EXTREMELY limited beyond 1 year as stated in manual. He then ordered a fan, wire and harness and cover (I imagine because he may break existing cover removing it). Boom! $169. For service call. He wasn’t sure what parts will cost yet because his iPad was not working and had to place order on phone through his employer. He then gave me instruction to empty fridge and freezer and leave doors open to defrost ice for 2 days! Thanks KitchenAid once again!! I had to throw out over $500 worth of food from fridge and freezer!! He then said that it will get down to proper temps and that I could use again but that buildup of ice will start again but hopefully be resolved with replacement parts. Hopefully doesn’t sound promising!!Unfortunately, I didn’t purchase an extended warranty but that isn’t the point I’m trying to make! The fact of the matter is that KitchenAid builds a crappy fridge!! Unfortunately, I purchased matching dishwasher and wall oven/microwave combo at same time so now I’m just waiting for issues with these (As a side note, the handle on freezer drawer loosens all the time for which I have to tighten with allen wrench every few days!)!! Well that’s my story as I wait for replacement parts and looking forward to that bill! Sincerely FRUSTRATED KitchenAid customer!

Bought all new matching stainless steel KitchenAid appliances (dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, microwave/convection oven) about one year ago and have been very disappointed with the lack of quality and performance in the stove and refrigerator from the start. Thought KitchenAid was a top brand but obviously not any longer. The pieces look sharp in the showroom but buyer beware! The stove - glass top scratches easily, requires extensive cleaning/buffing after every use, the self cleaning oven feature really does not work at all, takes forever to preheat the oven. The refrigerator - cheaply made vegetable bins that fall apart (front panel comes off), water filter needs to be replaced almost monthly. The dishwasher is the only appliance I have no major complaints for. Very quiet and does a good job on plates, glasses, and silverware (wash pots by hand). I regret not updating the GE Profile appliances I replaced with this purchase.

In the past 8 year I have built 2 new homes on the upscale side of the housing market. In both situations I used higher appliances from KitchenAid. For the investment made, I am very dissatisfied with quality of the produce drawers. On both drawers, the chrome deco on the drawer handle has come loose dueto faulty adhesive and both drawers have cracked in the center of the drawer handles. This is something I would expect from a 300.00 refrigerator, not one over 2000 dollars @ builders cost. In addition, I had the ice maker replaced in 6 months due to a faulty board, which is something you as manufacturers are aware of, but failed to advise the consumer. We have replaced the ice maker board and now will address replacing both produce drawers. I must say that after less than one year of ownership and facing the fact that all the other series of appliances are also KitchenAid products, I am waiting for the next problem to occur. I come from a family of builders, both residential and commercial and intend to advise them to consider other upscale appliance manufacturers on future projects. If this letter never goes up the management ladder I am sure I will receive the same reply as my last e-mail, indicating that your Customer Service Department also needs repair. Being an owner of several national companies myself, I am very aware of the damage that can be done by not reacting to a problem, where consumers are involved. Thank you.

KBFS22EWMS4 bought this refrig in late 2012. All seemed fine till 5/2014. Water started leaking from the freezer door. Water had been leaking into the bottom of the freezer and eventually started spilling out on the floor when the defrost cycle ran. I called a tech and he took apart the freezer, cleared the defrost drain, unfroze it and all seemed fine. 1 year 4 months later the same thing again.I called the same tech and when he got here, he pulled out the refrig and took off the bottom back panel and then removed the little rubber drain plug/funnel. He said this was the problem and now he just removed them when he sees this issue. Hes seen this before. It was very sticky (he said) because of the heat. The rubber funnel is about an inch long and about 1/2 inch wide. It has a slit in the bottom of it for the water to pass through. Not a hole, a slit! No wonder the thing leaked, it would get so easily gunked up and with the rubber being so sticky Im sure the slit would stick together and probably make it much easier to freeze. Id call this an engineering issue.Who in their right mind would use a pliable rubber funnel with a small slit in the bottom, it defies logic. There probably should have been no funnel to begin with or at least a hard plastic one with a hole big enough to drain without getting gunked up. Well see if this fix takes. If not, Im buying another (non-Kitchenaid) refrig. Im not putting $100+ each year on the same fridge for something that should have been designed properly.

Beautiful fridge but, in just over a month it got really warm and we lost most of the food. Their warranty does not cover food spoilage. Service man comes, its the motherboard, of course. Its faulty and they know it. Not too impressed, you would think that in 2016 they could build a fridge that works.Updated om 10/14/2016: Fridge was good for the next two months and it died again. Another service call and the repair man said they do not have a fix at the moment. After a big fight the appliance store gave me another fridge. Inserts get hard, breakoff and ball bearing fall out. After 30 months the top rack fell off due the roller assembly breaking. Bottom rack has same issue. Cost for replacement of upper and lower assemblies parts alone were over $350 with discount. Dishwasher must be completely un-installed to replace assemblies. After having a KitchenAid dishwasher that ran well for 11 years, we purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Sears on 6/11. This was model KUDS30FSSX2. In November of 12, wheels came off the upper rack and soon after, the motor wouldnt start. It would hum and then not go further in cycle. We had a repairman look at it. He said the motor was bad and that KitchenAid would not replace it. We paid for a replacement (about $400). The wheels on the upper rack were replaced after we complained to Whirlpool. There was never one trip here. They had to call for parts which were sent in about a week. Now, the motor will again not start and we are waiting to get help again. We never talk to the same person twice. The reports above match our experience. This is the same experience we had many years ago with our SAAB auto. They of course are now out of business and their employees lost their jobs. Im sure the execs were well compensated. KitchenAid and their owner, Whirlpool, are headed for the same future. I feel sorry for the employees, but this is what will happen when quality and buyer satisfaction no longer counts. Needless to say, we will never purchase another KitchenAid product or a Whirlpool made product which are marketed under names like Kenmore, etc. Sears too has been no help.

We have had our KitchenAid KGRS505X oven for less than 3 years and it has broken down twice. First time only after a month which was under warranty. The 2nd was a couple weeks shy of three years. It is costing us $300 for a one year service warranty so we can get it repaired. Reasonable expectation for an oven of this cost would be 10 years of trouble-free service. So, at this rate I will have purchased this appliance twice in the expected 15 years of service. I cant tell you how much I regret buying this piece of garbage.

Its terrible! I bought this because I didnt want to clean a filter. The dishwasher worked at first and then it started acting up. Issues we thought were with the door not being completely closed but that wasnt it. I bought the top KitchenAid at Sears and we are hand washing our dishes. Wish we kept the old Bosch.

I purchased an all new KitchenAid appliances in 2006 and have had major problems with them. The microwave was a fire hazard because it would randomly start on its own with nothing in it. A service technician was out several times to repair it (three trips in all). Now, the electric range (Model: KESA907PSS02) is not working again! We had the electronic range control and the touch pad replaced within the first year. They were covered under warranty. The same problem occurred this month and KitchenAid (Shari) will do nothing to remedy the problem. The cost to repair the range will be well over $450.00 if we have a technician do the work. I spoke with Shari from KitchenAid and she was not the least bit supportive or apologetic. She kept saying that it was no longer under warranty and there was nothing she could do. They have very poor customer service given my ongoing appliance issues. She was well aware of my appliance issues but was not at all concerned or helpful in providing assistance. We paid more money for the KitchenAid appliances than what we could have spent on other brands because we thought that we were getting premium appliances (definitely not so). Paying more does not mean that they are better! I will never purchase another KitchenAid product and will share my experience with others. They have horrible customer service and poor overpriced products. Shame on them for taking advantage of consumers and not providing a product that stands the test of time. I have paid for this range twice due to the repair costs over the years and I cannot afford to do so especially in these economic times. KitchenAid needs to address consumer satisfaction and produce a better product that warrants the high price tag.
