After the 4th visit from the technician and over $400 wasted (in a month and a half) in an attempt to fix! I needed a 5th visit due to a detergent pod ON FIRE in my dishwasher! After 2 hours of being disregarded on the phone (in which I am too busy to be doing)! Laura and Barbara in the safety department (awful by the way) offered me free detergent pods for my inconvenience! The safety of my family and my home were and is still in jeopardy due to a bad dishwasher! The worst customer service!! Stay away!!

We have a kitchen aid refrigerator, and from the first year on have been having issues with the ice maker. It has been one thing after another, and each plumber/appliance repair person that has tackled the issues have said its the worst design they have encountered in appliances. It came to a head last week when water came pouring into the reservoir, and running all over the kitchen tile. Thankfully we were home, and able to turn off the water source, otherwise it would have been a disaster! We are done with it, would give zero stars if that was an option.

I had both fridge and stove replaced as we threatened to take them to court. Well, we should have asked for our money back. Our 9 year old KBRS22KMSS $3500 fridge died and though KAid will replace compressor, it will cost $500 in labor and will not guarantee it will fix issue. To top it all off, the service man snickered as he looked at our $5700 pro series oven as he was leaving and commented on how many issues they had and the parts are not available so off to the scrap yard. I will never buy KA, WHIRLPOOL, AMANA, MAYTAG OR JENNAIR products ever again.

The freezer works ok but no matter what the refrigerator setting is set to, it does not keep cool (about 50 degrees F). I have tried replacing the fan, thermostat, and even the control board without making any difference. This is one refrigerator to stay away from.

Dishwasher model kuds30lxblo: After 1-1/2 years, the dishwasher did not complete a wash cycle. Occasionally, it would. I had it repaired and within 6 months, the same thing was happening again. Kitchen Aid will only cover parts but not a service call or labor. I refuse to pay for service on an appliance that should last at least 5 years.

I have had my KitchenAid dishwasher for 3 years but have only had it working properly for 3 months. I had to replace the top basket parts TWICE, and the control panel is defective. I have 5 kids, work full time and have no time to beg and plead over warranties and complaint records. We have had nothing but problems, and KitchenAid Customer Service will not waive the service fee and parts cost to have it fixed. I have been calling and discussing this issue with them for over a year, and they wont help me resolve the issue. I was always under the impression that this company made durable products and stood by them, and it seems to be a BIG disappointment. It is now nothing but a fixture in our kitchen and hasnt been used since the summer of 2012. KitchenAid is NOT a company of customer service and product integrity. Buy at your own risk. I will not ever buy another product from them and refuse to give them any positive word of mouth. What a shame.

KFIS27CXWH2 - We purchased this French door style/bottom freezer style from ABT Electronics in July 2011. Within two years we had leaking under freezer under our wooden floors. We called one serviceman who couldnt detect the issue. Called ABT and they were out approximately 12 times to finally resolve the issue by installing a heater unit in ice maker which happens to be located in the upper left side of the ceiling inside refrigerator. Never again will I purchase a unit with an ice maker in unit vs. freezer. Just after a year and parts warranty expiration - it began leaking again and thankfully I was home to avoid a real disaster and could turn off water. Yet another serviceman was out 2 days again who left stating he couldnt find anything wrong with ice maker. As of today water is not running into ice maker although we do have water in the dispenser on outside door of unit. Has anyone else had this model who has experienced the same issue? Every time I decide to replace the unit - I want to try one more time to remedy this problem.

A really poor finish, the high level of engine noise is noticeable in the day!! And a bad customer service. On May 27, 2016 at Home Depot I bought a KitchenAid Refrigerator which at the time of the delivery was damage by the people who delivery it. I kept the refrigerator for a few days until the next delivery. The new equipment started making unusual noise. We contacted KitchenAid again who sent a technician who did not find any problem according to him The sound is normal. Another technician was contacted since the freezer started making ice on one side not the other. He came to fix the issue, but resulted in burning the appliance for which we have evidenced of in pictures. According to him, the problem was fixed but a bigger damage was created on the lateral side of the fridge. The problem was reported to KitchenAid, who told me that another technician would be sent from another company. The last technician came, saw the unit and said that the problem could be resolved with an add on kit based on what KitchenAid told him because those units had several recalls and complaints for the same issue. The technician came with the accessory and this kit is not for this unit 2016. The kit is a fan that is located in the ice maker which is located at the top, not in the freezer where is the biggest problem, and the tech found more problems, filtration and dripping water in the drawers of vegetables. That waste of time and lack of knowledge and effectiveness by the representative of KitchenAid. I want a new unit or my full monetary refund. Ive had the unit only for three months and it is unacceptable. I have pictures of how I received the unit and the damages made by the technicians. I have contacted on several occasions 4 time technical visits and still have the same problem. I still waiting for any answer.

We bought a whole suite of KitchenAid large appliances (from Fergusons) for our new home build. We have been very satisfied with the performance of all - UNTIL the dishwasher tore up. It was still under the factory warranty. We called the issue in and there was a local company (American Appliance) that arrived 3 weeks later to repair. They discovered that the heating element of the dishwasher was broken and needed to be replaced. They ordered the part. They said it should arrive in 7-10 business days. After that amount of time, I called to be told that it was on backorder. They didnt have any clue of when the part would be back in stock. Therefore, we started reaching out to KitchenAid directly. We have spent over 6+ hours trying to reach KitchenAid and to speak to their technical department, parts department, warranty group, and finally complaint group. We have been told multiple things - there was a recall on the part (cant confirm that one), the part was out of stock and would not be in stock until after December 30 (totally unacceptable), and that the part was finally now in stock. We were told on July 8 that the part would go out to us on a truck the next day. Apparently that didnt happen. We have been on the phone with KitchenAid complaints again today for over 1.5 hours (more time) to be told that the part has been ordered but has not been pulled and shipped yet and that it would take another 2-3 weeks for that to happen. We made the choice to buy Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) appliances for our new house because they are American made and felt that they would stand behind their products. We are so dissapointed in how this has been handled. We are going to be without our dishwasher for at least 2+ months (and we are a family of 6 people). Our disappointment comes from both the quality of the part but even more importantly the way we have been treated and the repair handled once it tore up. I would not recommend them today. I would be cautious because if you have issues it is not an easy road to travel! Our warranty has not been very effective up to this point.

After a thunderstorm and lightning storm our power went off. When the power came back on we had no control board lights - none. Oven not working. Called repair man - waited 2 days for new power board and replaced it. Same thing - no control board. Now he says he needs to change the control panel boards because he gets no power out from the power board he changed out that supplies power to the control panel on top. Well about $200 for a board he changed and they want another $400 for the control panel if we decide to order it. Those prices are w/out labor costs. Min $85 just for call out. Even if I replace this part that is no guarantee that the oven will work again. I could spend as much money as it cost me originally to buy it. It was not cheap for the Kitchen-Aide Superb gas range when I bought it. I can remember when people would replace ovens/ranges just because they wanted a newer bigger one. Not that anything was wrong with the one they had, they just wanted to replace something that had already given over 25 years of service and was given to someone else just starting out in life. Where is the quality of workmanship that used to be in the things that we build and buy? It seems like today the young people have been brainwashed into thinking that when something breaks it is to be thrown away and replaced. I guess the manufacturers have succeeded in instilling a real throw away society in our youth. It dont work, throw it away because it will cost you more to fix it than its worth. Rule of thumb should be if something is going to cost you about 50% of what it originally cost to buy it --- then throw it away. They dont make anything like they use to.

They sent a repairman that stated it was our fault for not having air conditioning in our house. Nothing he can do. I called Lowes again and a new repairman said he replaced a faulty hose. We have had this dishwasher (KDFE204E) for less than a year. Within five months the dishwasher motor went out. The company was prompt and came out and replaced the motor. However now with the new motor, the dishwasher will not dry anything (not even regular dishes and pot and pans) and leaves soap residue on everything. The dishes seldom get clean, even with the soap residue left behind. I cannot recommend this company/product to anyone. Their newest solution with our appliance being only eight months old... use rinse aid or well be charged for a service call.

We purchased a stainless freezer at the bottom model in January of 2013 from a local appliance store. Within a couple of months we had a freezer that stopped getting cold and lost all the food in it. A repairman came quickly and said it was working fine and it continued for a year. Then the freezer stopped working for a day, but came back on. In October of 2015 the freezer stopped completely. We have had a series of repairmen out and we still have no freezer. I have called KitchenAid and they said they would only fix and repair what is in the sealed unit, but that often the control panels fail and that they wont fix or replace the control panel. We paid top dollar for a fridge that lasted two years. There is no way I would ever buy a KitchenAid product again for any reason. This has been a nightmare. We were without a fridge during the hottest two months on record and now we are going into the holidays without a fridge/freezer. I would never recommend buying a KitchenAid appliance and would warn anyone to avoid this company.

In mid February I wrote a complaint about all the problems I had with my # kfis29 French door fridge. I contacted whirlpool who makes the unit and told them that when I call kitchen aid they wouldn`t do nothing for me! After a week the place that sold the unit to me who had nothing to do with the problem also called whirlpool and told them the story. Guess what? He told me to come in and pick out a new fridge of equal value and that whirlpool corp. was giving me a full refund. So the store rep, told me that he had very little problems with GE and that if he did GE backed him 100% so I bought a GE French door, super quiet and they also threw in a 5-year extended warranty! PS DON`T GIVE UP! KEEP CALLING UNTIL THEY SATISFY YOU. WE PAID A LOT OF MONEY FOR THESE AND JUST WANT WHAT WE PAY FOR! THE STORE I USED WAS RICHMOND APPLIANCE, STATEN ISLAND NEW YORK! THEY’RE THE BEST FAMILY BUSINESS around.

In a nutshell, the same part on my fridge (the thermistor assembly) has broken down 5 times since I bought it (roughly every three months) causing the fridge to simultaneously ice over yet not keep the food cold. I have a warranty on it, and per CAs Lemon Law, they should have replaced the fridge by now. But every time I call, they keep coming up with reasons why that it doesnt qualify for a Lemon replacement. (This latest time was that the latest repair had the same claim number because it was technically within 90 days of the last time a technician came out. By this logic, they could give me the same claim number till the end of time and never replace the fridge).I can afford a new fridge, but at this point its a matter of principle. I have wasted thousands of dollars in food, not to mention days of my life dealing with this issue -- and have become convinced (based on my research of other consumer complaints) that this is an issue KitchenAid is aware of and that they have knowingly foisted a faulty product & loophole-ridden warranty onto their consumers and EXPECT us to give up when they give us the run-around. I have researched lawsuits against KitchenAid and their warranty company and have been contacted by lawyers who are interested in pursuing a class action lawsuit. If you are interested in getting more information/participating in a class action lawsuit against KitchenAid, please email me.

Freezer is ridiculously small and v-shaped. Fridge parts started deteriorating a few years after purchase—after warranty had run. Deli drawer lid broke, door stripping ripped and continues to do so, mold grows in the stripping in the refrigerator, the doors don’t close well/easily, especially left door, water drips from doors, the water filter is difficult to change. I do not recommend this refrigerator at all. Looking forward to it breaking down completely so I can buy a new one!

I purchased six appliances when I upgraded my kitchen: refrigerator, range, microwave oven, trash compactor, and beverage center to the tune of $10,000. At this point, I would never recommend KitchenAid to anyone. The microwave broke and the part was never available. After months of arguing, I had to get a new one. The refrigerator’s thermostat went out and they did not make the part. I had to get a new refrigerator/freezer. Now, I ran the clean cycle on the oven and the oven overheated and locked up for the second time. The oven is now not operable and I will have to pay a service man to put in another new thermostat. My research shows over 400 complaints. These ovens are a poor design and the self-cleaning feature cannot be used. In addition, I have had to have the trash compactor repaired. The appliances are 36 months old. And when I call KitchenAid, they really dont care to resolve the issues. Very frustrating!

Its only eight yrs old and I’ve only had problems since I got it from self-cleaning (which I decided not use this future anymore) because I was just wasting my money every time I use I had the same black down and paid for repairs, oven that doesn’t heat up or is inconsistent to cheap top insert elements the brick easily (i.e. insert for large left burner) it just fell apart while cleaning... I would not recommend anyone to buy this model thinking you are getting top of line. PLEASE STAY AWAY!When I contact Whirlpool for help or tip on how to replace parts myself they rudely offer me to contact their tech repair person to come to my place and basically ** me financially with high prices to repair my unit that is all I’m left with. I feel I paid high price for this unit and I expect to get better response from Manufacture since they are aware of the issues with this range. I’ve come across many complaints about this model As I searched for solution on web. Again, stay away from KitchenAid/Whirlpool ranges.

Unfortunately we have several KitchenAid appliances that came with our new house. They are all crap. In our previous house, we had a Samsung refrigerator (which cost a lot less than the KitchenAid) that was well made and worked perfectly. Even though we have a luxury KitchenAid model, the drawers dont fit, the ice maker freezes up regularly and the whole unit just feels cheap. Even our builder does not use KitchenAid anymore. In addition, because they are so poorly made, the company cannot afford to (or chooses not to) fix real issues when they occur. Avoid KitchenAid at all costs.

In 2006, we remodeled our kitchen, and in that process invested in Kitchen Aid appliances, including a side by side built-in stainless steel refrigerator. On August 11, 2014, the refrigerator stopped cooling, and we were told that the main control board needed to be replaced, and so the odyssey began. At the beginning of this ordeal, we were told that the part in question was ordered, was then on back-order, and would be shipped to our home in about three weeks. After three weeks, however, we were then told that the part was no longer manufactured because the factory was destroyed by a Tsunami two years ago! We acted on the corporations advice to send the defective board to Core Centric, which until very recently, Whirlpool was recommending to its customers in our same situation. Core Centric could not repair it, and we then sent the board to a company in Texas, also to no avail. The appliance repairman that we have been dealing with then ordered the part from Amazon/Sears, paid for it, waited two weeks for delivery, and when he contacted Sears, was told that the order was cancelled. After calling Whirlpool again, I was told that my file would be referred to a special department for possible inclusion in their pro-rated exchange program. I was told today that such a program would be offered to us because the company is supposed to provide parts for their appliances for ten years, and our appliance is less than ten years old. How lucky I feel to find out that I can exchange my eight-year-old built-in, which we purchased because it was marketed as an appliance that you repair, not replace, for the sum of $7,204.15!!! I was told that the new purchase price for my model would be $8,299.00. After further discussion, I was then told that the lowest price I could be offered to exchange my refrigerator, that cannot be repaired because the corporation has breached their obligation to provide parts for ten years for, would be $6,000.00. I was also told by the representative that I spoke with that she hears this same story all day long from other customers. SHAME ON YOU KITCHEN AID/WHIRLPOOL!!! (As an aside, thank God that my 20 year old Kenmore refrigerator in our garage still works perfectly, because we have now been without a kitchen refrigerator for 14 weeks).

We bought a very high end Architect series very expensive side by side. Just moved into new house. Awful smell in fridge soaks through food and food then tastes bad. Exceptions are if food is in glass, aluminum, or heavy plastic (not plastic wrap/bags). Water undrinkable. Ice not usable. Smells terrible when opening the door. Purchased through very reputable large distributor who verified on two separate service calls this was fact and made sure not due to other issues. We are using a small backup fridge.Distributor has been calling frequently to KitchenAid rep/service to resolve. KitchenAid has not responded for 13 days since filed complaint. Since installed during building process, not simple to return. Have had other KitchenAid appliances in the past that we were very satisfied, but this is completely unacceptable. We have bought high end appliances from other companies several times and experience is completely different.

Bought a Kitchen Aid stainless steel, counter depth, side by side refrigerator seven years ago. Evidently, this is the max years I could get. The refrigerator is sitting in our front room needing a control board part 2307037 since October. We keep getting the run around pushing the back order date further and further into the future. We will probably end up getting a new refrigerator, and I guarantee you it will not be a Whirlpool or any other product that they make. They are very deceptive. I noticed Sunday morning that my 3 month old KitchenAid refrigerator was not cooling properly in the freezer compartment. I waited until Monday to call Whirlpool to report this. They informed me someone would be out the next day to look at it. The serviceman replaced the thermistor and left. When I returned home from work the freezer was even warmer and the refrigerator was now moot cooling properly. I called Whirlpool again and they sent another serviceman Thursday. He said this thermistor is also faulty. He did not have one on hand some would have to order it and could possibly come back in a week.I called Whirlpool and explained that I am without a refrigerator/freezer and that I didnt think this was right. They stated this was the best they could do. I asked what if they dont fix it the next trip. She stated they would come back until it was fixed. I reminded them that I would still be without a refrigerator. They said they felt bad but they could do nothing else. I am frustrated and feel that Whirlpool likes to sell appliances but theyre not so good at fixing them and keeping the customer satisfied; probably my last whirlpool appliance. After purchasing our KitchenAid French door refrigerator, a grinding noise
After purchasing our KitchenAid French door refrigerator, a grinding noise started coming from the refrigerator within the first couple of months, and there were giant icicles (over 3 wide) hanging down from various parts of the freezer. I would break off the icicles and the next day there would be more. I shot several videos of the problems, and went down to show them to the salesperson where we purchased it. He said that he wasnt sure if they would go through the Kitchen Aid warranty, or the store warranty, but that he would take care if it, order a replacement refrigerator, and call me when it came in.Months passed, and we went into the Christmas season, then New Years, and I was too preoccupied to deal with it. The grinding noise went away, but the ice build-up became so great that it created two problems: On the one hand, it prevented the freezer drawer from closing because there was so much ice behind the drawers--it would break off and fall on the freezer floor, creating a blockage--this has incidentally resulted in our freezer defrosting countless times, and having to throw away endless amounts of food. When that happens, the system stops making ice as well, so theres that. Additionally, the refrigerator warms to about 45 degrees. This has happened more times than I can count, and we ultimately have to get on the ground and scrape all of the ice out with an ice-pick and yardstick. The other issue with the ice is that it prevented the freezer drawers from sliding, so when I pulled one of the drawers forward, the front panel literally pulled off in my hand. So now we have a drawer with no front, on a newish refrigerator. The ice maker makes a tub of ice, then because it must be melting slightly and refreezing, it all forms into one giant ice cube, so the ice dispenser never works either, and I have to chip all of the ice out with an ice-pick.When I had finally had enough, I went down and spoke with the same salesperson (by this time, over a year had passed), and he said that he didnt remember the conversation, and that there was nothing that they could do about it. We called the manager over, and he laughed saying that so much time had passed, of course they couldnt do anything. We have documented proof from the first 60 days (in the form of videos with dates) that this refrigerator is a $3,100 lemon. This refrigerator needs to be recalled.

The KitchenAid refrigerator we recently installed (1 week ago on 08/06/2020) model KBFN502ESS02 - a built-in model (at about $9,000.) does not hold -5 degrees F in the freezer. Some of the foods we use like that temperature. The documentation about the model in the User Manual says the set point for the freezer is -5 degrees F to 3 degrees F. We set -5 F into the system. We today 8/12/2020 had a service tech (factory authorized) check the freezer and he found that the average temp in the freezer from the diagnostic panel showed 0 degrees F over the last 10 hours. The factory rep he talked to said that was within specs. There are no specs in any document other than the set point can be as stated above. DO NOT BUY KITCHENAID. Their products look good but don’t believe any documentation or specs.

Purchased our Double Oven July 29/11 from a local appliance shop (Herbs Appliances), authorized dealer for kitchen aid. From day one it did not work properly, convection fan made noise, in all fairness Herbs came back and fixed that. Then the electronics board failed. Had to turn breaker off and on, to reset it constantly. Well, now Herbs Appliances was not so eager to return and did not return at all. Excuse after excuse why he could not come. Then the upper oven failed totally. Called Kitchen Aid said it was no longer under warranty. Absolute nightmare from Retailer to manufacturer. To add insult to injury, we purchase a new cook top from Ikea. Nutid Induction cook top. It lasted 6 months, half the burners failed. To my surprise it was another kitchen aid product. To nobody else fault but my own, I have misplaced the receipt. No warranty. Big Box to supporting your local retailer, dont buy Kitchen Aid.

I bought all KitchenAid appliances at the beginning of 2013 and I have had to have the freezer fixed 3 times and now the cook top is broken. I have an extended warranty that I bought through KitchenAid. It is Dan Marc Appliance Repair in New Jersey and they are horrible. They either order the wrong part or the part comes broken. I always have to go 2 weeks without a refrigerator or freezer. And I also lose a freezer-full of food. KitchenAid, who is owned by Whirlpool, is horrible to deal with and I would not recommend them to anyone. And to me these appliances are new and to have them fixed 3 times in 2 years is not acceptable. They are also overpriced.

I purchased the KitchenAid refrigerator KFIS29PBMS00 2 years ago. My refrigerator has not been keeping things frozen since before Thanksgiving of 2015... It’s now the end of January 2016. It is also leaking water from the water dispenser. I think it is a shame you spend a good amount of money on a new appliance and within 2 years you have 4 problems with it. It has iced up. There was a problem with the door. The ice maker / water dispenser problem... but this freezer problem is the worst. (Thank goodness I have an old refrigerator, you know one that was produced when quality with appliances was great!)But what has become the even worst problem is the warranty company, Consumer Priority Service. You call in your problem. They call someone in your area... they come out to check the problem... leave, order parts and then come back. The first time I called to get someone out they told me they could get someone out in 3 weeks... 3 weeks!!! Come on... 3 weeks! So I bypassed the warranty company the 1st time the freezer had a problem. When they came out they noticed the water leak and said to call the warranty company on it. I did. It was 12/2/2015... They came out 1/21/2016 with the WRONG part. Now Im waiting again. In the meantime, the freezer is broken again. The warranty company notified a repair company... I hadnt heard a response from them so I called them. They said they could not fix my problem and they contacted the warranty company again. Needless to say, this is very frustrating. My beautiful, KitchenAid refrigerator has been no working since before Thanksgiving of last year! I will never buy another KitchenAid product again or warranty service from Consumer Priority Service.

I purchased a KitchenAid microwave for $784.00 and $102.00 for the extended warranty and both of those were my problem. The microwave went out and I have had to make over 10 different calls and waste over 5 hours on the phone with KitchenAid extended warranty company. At first they refused to cover the oven because they said it was heat related damage. I have to admit that I am not very smart but I do know that a microwave oven has to get hot in order to work! After I called the store I purchased it from and after the repair company called them on my behalf, they want me to accept only 75% of replacement value. I can never recommend anyone to buy KitchenAid or Whirlpool products because with my experience, they do not stand behind their products or care about their customers. I have spoken to 3 supervisors; all of them follow the company line. The difference in dollars to keep a satisfied customer is $236.00. That is not much for a multi-billion dollar company. I will continue to contact as many information outlets as possible including TV, radio and newspapers, as well as spending time in appliance stores to inform others of my experience. All I can say is purchase KitchenAid/Whirlpool at your own risk!

I have had this fridge for three years. We have been seeing issues with every feature on it. The lights won’t come on, the ice maker is malfunctioning, it won’t dispense water or ice. The fridge will turn off completely for hours and sometime days. My only saving grace is to unplug the fridge, wait ten minutes and plug it in. When I do this, the fridge goes back to normal for about a week.I reached out to Kitchenaid and they sent a tech to my house. The technician told me that there is a common error with the circuitry stemming from the deli drawer. If you read all the negative reviews you will see I am not the only one experiencing the issue. The technician did all his diagnostics and found nothing. He called the tech hotline for Kitchenaid and they told him this is a common issue with this model. The deli circuit and wiring needs to be replaced. They have done it to hundreds of this model. (READ ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.) The technician told me that even though there are many models that have gone through this, it is not covered under warranty. The parts start at $600 not including labour. When I called Kitchenaid back and told them of the issues and how this is a common issue, they did not deny this. They did say that yes there are a lot of negative reviews on here about this problem, as there are a lot of negative reviews about any product on the internet. They advised that even though it could be a manufacturer defect, the warranty is one year on this and they will do nothing for me. Marie from the Whirlpool Hotline was very adamant that regardless how many people are experiencing this issue, the warranty is one year. Kitchenaid will not repair the fridge, and I am on the hook for what should be considered a recall due to manufacturer defect.I have since reported the issue to the consumer protection act, and advised them that Kitchenaid is aware of the defect, even acknowledges it, but won’t repair or replace. I am not asking for cash back for the food that was spoiled, nor am I asking for a new fridge. I just want the defect repaired, but that is too much to ask outside of one year.

We bought this Convection Oven/Microwave at the same time as our oven, KEBS
We bought this Convection Oven/Microwave at the same time as our oven, KEBS107SS, and cooktop, KFGS 206VSS. After buying it at Sears and coming home and reading the reviews here, I was ready to cancel the purchase. Decided instead to purchase the 5 year extended warranty. Buying warranties is something we dont do. However, we were spending so much on these 3 appliances and after reading the complaints on the oven and microwave, we did purchase the 5 year warranty on the oven and the microwave. Less than 18 months later, the microwave went out. The service guy has been out twice with a 3rd trip scheduled. I have been without my microwave for 13 days and it will be another 10 waiting for the parts. The worst part was being without it while needing to cook for 25 during Christmas, which is not something Id expect to do with a microwave weve had less than 18 months. Next time we buy appliances, I will read reviews before we purchase and I will not purchase from KitchenAid. KitchenAid doesnt care about their consumers who buy their products. (That is a story Ill need to write on our cooktop that we didnt purchase the warranty on.) There are other appliances out there with better reviews. The KitchenAid appliances look nice, but the quality is not there. Our last microwave that was over the oven was not even broken when we replaced it and it was 15 years old without ever having a service call. It was GE and was the microwave that came with the house. It wasnt even an upgraded appliance! I dont write reviews, but I learned so much from reading these, and now that we are having problems with a relatively new appliance, I decided to write this for others.

We bought a KitchenAid dishwasher in 2019, and while it is very quiet (nice!), plastic parts on the interior assembly have started to disintegrate to the point that they are breaking off. And we dont run it often as a household of two. Why is it that manufacturers cheap out on parts so much these days? Maybe plastic isnt meant to be washed and baked at high temperatures. Can we please go back to the old school appliances that last for 30 years?

I purchased this dishwasher after reading reviews of lower priced units that were rated as cleaning as good as a KitchenAid. I have owned at least a half dozen dishwashers in the last 35 years and this is the ABSOLUTE WORST I have ever used. It is quiet, it is good looking, but it can spread dirt where none existed before. I have tried everything and to get clean dishes it must be set to MAX and HALF loaded to get your half dirty dishes clean, AND thats only if you remember not to put anything at the corners of the trays and they will come out clean and WET! The vent is so small on these units it is nearly impossible for the vapour to escape. This unit original price was $1,999 and it doesnt work 1/2 as good as a $350 Kenmore. Dont waste your money on this model KDTE704DSS0.

The last one needed a new control board - no longer made. So the machine is obsolete by company failure to provide necessary parts over a longer period of time. Wont touch this product again. Trying to contact the manufacturer a big run around. Customer service is about as bad as it gets. Bought a new Sub-Zero. We purchased KitchenAid model # KDFE204EWH1, paid $145.00 to have it installed, bought extended warranty and it has never cleaned a dish. We had two technicians out who gave us hints to help, i.e. put more soap in, run your faucet until the water is so hot that you cant touch it because the first rinse in the machine is cold water, use Jet Dry. Ive been using dishwashers for a long time and have never needed technicians to come to the house and instruct me on how to use it. KitchenAid has officially chalked the problem up to owner misuse. This is highly insulting and ridiculous. We even paid our plumber to come and see if the problem could be caused by our plumbing - negative on that. I called the company and was told that if I try another dishwasher detergent, that it might help. Other customers have found it to be very helpful.Give me a break! The machine is a piece of garbage and has never, ever worked. $1,000. of our money has been thrown out the window and we have been treated poorly by this company to say the least. Save your money, do your research and buy something other than a KitchenAid/Whirlpool. We now have to clean our dishes by hand. Horrible machine, horrible company to deal with. They will not send anyone else out to look at the dishwasher unless we pay for it. They have done all they are going to do and dont care that the machine doesnt work. They are finished with us as we are with them.

Purchased range KSEG950E in January 2016. The oven never has worked properly. I have had service out at least a dozen times. Purchased the extended warranty out of necessity and have regularly had technicians out for service. I’m told each time that there is nothing wrong. My oven does not hold temperature. I set it and it will vary up or down 50-75 degrees during baking time. This is totally unacceptable to me as a baker. I am very disappointed in KitchenAid, I usually love their products. We are about to trash this very expensive range and buy another brand!

We purchased a nearly $4000 KitchenAid refrigerator on May 22, 2019 (KPFC704FSS). Within a year (June 17, 2020, the ice maker stopped working and the refrigerator stopped cooling. During the course of the next two and a half months, a new compressor was installed. The fridge began to cool again, but no ice was being made. A new ice maker was ordered, but Whirlpool initially refused to provide it at no charge. Eventually, the company relented and a new ice maker was installed on July 16. Within days of installation of the ice maker, there was still no ice being made. After more phone calls, we were offered a voucher for a new refrigerator of any kind or a new KitchenAid fridge identical to the one we had. We agreed to a new KitchenAid refrigerator be delivered. BIG MISTAKE!After no delivery or delivery notice for three weeks, on August 17, 2020, a call was made to the appliance store to determine the delivery status of our new replacement refrigerator and we were told to call back on September 16 —perhaps by then a there would be an answer to our question of ‘when?’ Presently, there is no known delivery date; not even a known month of possible delivery. Throughout the past three months, and who knows how much longer, the appliance store has continued to do its best; however, KitchenAid/Whirlpool has failed all ‘reasonable standards’ of good corporate consumer service. Never again will a Whirlpool product be purchased by us.

I had a KitchenAid dishwasher for 20 years and finally, I decided to replace it only because it was not dispensing the soap completely. I wish I had my old one back. The new model (KUDC10FXWH) I purchased in May 2011 and cost $940 including installation, warranty and tax is a big disappointment. So far, the repairman has been out 3 times. The last diagnosis was a control panel malfunction, which causes the dishwasher to shut itself off. It is almost useless to me because I have to run a cycle twice and/or a separate rinse to be sure the dishes are clean. Mostly, I have reverted to washing dishes by hand to save water and frustration. So far, I have not had to pay anything out of pocket due to the regular warranty. But thank goodness I got the extended warranty because I think I will need it. Buyer beware!

I purchased this stove because it had a very large oven and I bake. Two weeks after installation I realized when I leaned up to get something from the cabinet above the stove I turned on burners, sometimes just enough for a gas leak and sometimes enough to burn my arm. First problem with design. A month later at Thanksgiving the turkey was in the oven and my grandson touched a knob with his arm and actually burned it. Thats how hot the knob. I see were due to a vent directly below them. Second design flaw.Later that afternoon. We realized the turkey wasnt getting done. Oven turned off by itself. Luckily I have a second oven. Very nice competent repairman (outsourced) checked the temperature of the knobs and they came in two degrees under government top number. He replaced an oven valve. This valve was replaced three times before the oven would function without failing. I took these safety and oven problems up with KitchenAid only to be told they were within government standards and be glad I bought a warrant for the oven. Cold, disrespectful and dismissive people. What a piece of junk! When did KitchenAid allow their products to become inferior to the point of totally frustrating the consumer. KitchenAid used to be a quality product. Ive only had this for 3 years - in the first year the plastic clips broke on the back of the thing and I had to contact a supervisor to get them in time for the holiday. Basically the top rack is worthless - totally and completely worthless. All the plastic pieces snap off and break - clips, rollers, etc. When you try to adjust them to get the rack to go back in so you can close the door the plastic things break. I ordered extra plastic clips when I got them the first time and those have broken. By the second year the bottom rack was falling apart and would not roll back in. The wheels are broken. Furthermore, the electronics is crap. I will use a setting and come back 3 or 4 hours later and it is still running - or trying to run. Half the time the dishes dont even get clean. Im so angry. Im a single parent and spent my tax refund check getting this and it works worse than the 10 year old thing that I had before this junk. At least the 10 year old dishwasher didnt have plastic pieces breaking. Stop making this crap in China and make it in the U.S. with quality parts and quit making it cheaply so that you can blame the Chinese for your own design flaws. Quit paying your CEO a fortune and making crap. Concentrate on making something that lasts. Since KitchenAid is owned by Whirlpool I assume the same will be true of Whirlpools quality.

We have owned the KERS306BSS range since March of 2013. On balance, we like the design of the range and its features (except the AquaLift cleaning feature which, like others have reported, does not clean well). During this time, we have had five instances of a repetitive problem of the range unexpectedly turning itself completely off. This has happened both while using the range and while it is not in use. KitchenAid FAQ advises customers to turn the power off, wait a minute, and turn the power back on in an effort to reboot the system. After doing this, however, only one of the features (oven or surface units) starts working again. The range has been serviced after each of these instances and works correctly for another few weeks, or maybe a month, and the problem repeats.KitchenAid initially would not refund our money and only offered a replacement unit. When we did not receive delivery confirmation, we attempted to follow up. We were told delivery had been delayed to February. Then, we were told replacement units were not available and given instructions on how to fax in an application for a refund. We told we would receive a confirmation. We did not. We will post our additional progress at resolving this complaint.Overall, our experience with KitchenAid Customer Service personnel has been very poor. Each time you call you get a different person who has a hard time locating your previous calls. The first time we called the Product Exchange Group we were assigned a contact person who said we should call her for any questions. Unfortunately, we could never reach her again and other customer personnel did not seem to know her.

Im a commercial dishwasher repairman. My 10-month old dishwasher failed, dead, no lights, nothing. I checked the power and performed troubleshooting steps, determined the problem was a bad control board. I called the folks who sold it to me. They did not have a control board in stock. I asked that they bring a board with them so they could fix it with one visit. They said no, they could not be sure the board was the problem. I was going to have to wait 5 days (including Saturday & Sunday) for them to show up between 1 and 4, and then have to go through another wait until they were able to get the part. I am not very fond of washing dishes by hand, so I called around and found a parts place that could have the part by the next day (Saturday). The part came in and I installed the part, which fixed the problem. I called the dealer and canceled the service call and asked if it was possible to get any credit on the part. They said no, but I could call KitchenAid. I called KitchenAid this morning. No luck, it did not matter that Id saved them two service calls. It did not matter that I had taken the risk for the cost of the part if my diagnosis had been incorrect (with electronic parts, once the box is open, you own it). After speaking with Shari and David (a supervisor), KitchenAids policy is inflexible. If a customer touches it, they dont warranty it. In addition, they refused to send someone out to inspect my work or to confirm the board was bad. Im very disappointed! Heck, if they had offered to split the cost of the part or even to give me credit towards my next KitchenAid Appliance, Id have been thrilled. Instead, I was left with a bitter taste in my mouth.

Totally ridiculous that this company will not stand by their faulty product!!! I cant believe a dishwasher doesnt last more than 3 years!!!! Worthless piece of junk is what I purchased. Wish I would have read all the reviews BEFORE I purchased a Kitchen Aid!!! NEVER again! I will never recommend or purchase another Kitchen aid product!!

I had an old KitchenAid microwave that Sears could not fix, so they offered a $575 credit replacement for it. I went to Sears and the one they stated was the same one was on sale for total of $484.49, so I ordered it and a week later it was installed. With just the two of us, we barely used it. Three weeks later while doing a baked potato in it on sense position, it caught on fire melting the plastic inside. They came out and stated it wasnt repairable so now they would only give a replacement value of the $484.49, so I had to add money to it just to get another microwave. Only this time I bought a GE. It should be here on Saturday and I hope it lasts longer then the KitchenAid did. Do not buy KitchenAid KHMS 2040, it will catch on fire.

In September 2013, we remodeled our kitchen. I looked forward to having 30 double electric wall ovens, but over the years have been VERY disappointed! Preparing last evenings dinner really made me want to write & share my frustrations! The ovens take an inordinately long time to come up to temperature. Once it might be reached, it does NOT remain! The fan is noisy and sometimes seems to vibrate. Cookies become very browned in the back right corner. Last evening I started using the top oven to bake a pork tenderloin. Gave it a long time to pre-heat & it never really reached 325 degrees. I reset it for 350 which again, it did not attain. I finally tried the lower oven, using the convection Rapid heat to bring it up to temperature more quickly. Once it neared 350 degrees, I turned off the convection & used the regular bake. I had to rotate the pan several times to keep it from browning in the back. I have wasted too much mental time being frustrated with these! We did have a repairman visit, he adjusted the temperature & could offer no comments/suggestions re the fan, etc. Am looking for new ovens, but needed to vent.

I purchased a full suite of KitchenAid higher end appliances for a kitchen remodel 04/2020. Since we received the appliances in 06/2020 the microwave has failed to heat. Called Whirlpool/KitchenAid, who sent out a local repair service. The repair guy says the microwave is a total loss. Whirlpool/kitchen aid says its repairable; however, all of the parts are on backorder. After waiting for 2 months I have called to request replacement of a 6 month old $1200 microwave, and told by Megan a supervisor at Whirlpool that the warranty does not cover replacement since it can be fixed. However, they do not currently have the parts to make the repair, and no timetable for the repair. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product including all brands they manufacture. Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Amana, and Maytag, buyer beware of these products. The manufacturer does not stand behind their products.

I called KitchenAid customer service and was told that there was nothing they could do about it because, according to them, the dishwasher was functioning properly. I called the store where I purchased it from and they sent out a couple of installers who looked at the damage and said,I knew this was going to happen when I saw the side air vent design. I echo what others have posted about Kitchenaids KFIS29 french door refrigerator - a total disappointment, buyers remorse, and Whirlpool must spend a lot of time and money making sure the people who answer the phone at their Customer experience Center are extremely polite while offering no solutions. From date of installation, Aug. 2013, the fridge never kept beverages and food in the upper unit cold, regardless of temp setting, the freezer simply could not keep items frozen, and the unit is loud. I chalked this off to the ill effects of being energy efficient. In the summer of 2014 I placed my first service call because the ice maker stopped making ice (never made much to begin with), the already high noise levels had increased, and the upper unit would not get below 43 degrees. When the repairman arrived, there was nothing I could tell him about the unit that he was not already very aware of. I was told I needed the kit and naturally the kit had to be ordered and I was told I had to call a special number at Whirlpool and order the kit. What an ordeal that was. In the mean time, the fridge started making a very loud sound like an impact hammer. Repairman can back out and found a huge amount of ice build up on the evaporator. The fan blades were hitting the ice causing the noise. Ice removed, problem solved, at least for a while. A few days later the the freezer was frosting up so another call to the repairman. The freezer door gasket was faulty and had to be corrected. Finally, the parts needed to fix the ice maker situation arrived. The kit was to correct the issue with low ice production, frost build up between ice maker and rear of the fridge, and to correct the problem with water dripping down and onto the evaporator coils and freezing. The control panel and a couple of other parts were also replaced. All good? Not exactly. The fridge still was not cooling, water was leaking from ice bin, and the noise level was still very high. Trying to get this thing fixed within warranty period, I call for service once again. The repairman and Whirlpool tech center ran tests and determined I needed a new evaporator and several other parts related to the cooling system. I called the Customer experience Center and requested a new unit. I was politely told that I had not had enough problems to warrant a replacement and that as long as the unit was + or - 5 degrees of the recommended temp settings (37 upper / 0 freezer) it was considered acceptable. Do not know about you but 43 or higher degree milk is not good and ice cream is suppose to melt after you take it out of the freezer. I was told by a Supervisor that since I had experienced some problems with the unit they would extend my factory warranty for six months. I was told if the parts on order did not correct the issues we could talk about a replacement then. OK, all the parts came in and were installed. Things appeared to be good for about two months except for the fact that around 37 degrees is as cold as the upper unit appears to be able to do, 34 would be my preference. In mid Oct 2014 I noticed low ice production, the noise level increasing, water dripping from the ice bin again, and there is frost building up again between the ice maker and back of the fridge again. I called the Customer experience Center to discuss replacement. I was told that since it had been more than 30 days since the repairs I would have to have a repairmen come out and and get on a call with tech support and diagnose the problem and oh, by the way, the unit is no longer under factory warranty. I advised that I had been told and assured that my factory warranty had been extended for 6 months. I was basically told that I was not told that and it would be impossible for that to occur. When I provided the name and date that I was told the warranty was extended I was told there was no one there by that name. It should be noted that only two people live in the house and thus it is not like the fridge is in a constant state of opening and closing and so on. To sum up, I have had to take off work 7 times for the fridge to be looked at and actual repairs to be made. I have absolutely no confidence that any further repairs will produce long lasting results. Looking at the dates of comments about the KFIS29, it appears no changes have been made to the fridge since people are reporting the same problems on units recently purchased as people who purchased them a year or more ago have experienced. If you are looking for a french door fridge you might want to not have this one on your short list.

We purchased the Range along with a Fridge, over range Microwave, Dishwashe
We purchased the Range along with a Fridge, over range Microwave, Dishwasher and even a toaster at the same time as we were redoing our kitchen. Right off the bat the fridge, Model KBLS22KVSS1 leaked water. This was traced to a cracked evaporation pan. The repairman said we should just use a glue gun on it. We refused his suggestion since the fridge was only a week old. A new pan was ordered and installed three weeks later. Took the repairman two hours and a lot of grief to replace the pan. No wonder he hoped we would just glue it.With the range, Model YKERS807SS01 we had it go completely dead 1 hour into the first time we tried the self clean feature. Reading about other peoples failures with KitchenAids eager to help service department we will not even bother to try to get any support for an obvious known issue. Having a look at the internet we were provided with numerous incidents describing the same problem. Apparently there is a one time thermal switch attached to the rear wall of the oven that fails to open when the temperature gets too hot and kills the power to the rest of the Range including the door lock. I sourced out the part (75 dollars) at a local Appliance Parts store and installed it. Needless to say with the new part installed, an hour into the self clean cycle it blew again. I am not about to buy a third one. I guess we will never be able to use the self clean feature on this oven. The Dishwasher, Model KUDS40CVSSO had the pump motor go after a year. Cost us 400 dollars for a new one. Service man said that the design was poor and we could expect the pump to fail again. He also noted that our Range had a Keypad/Display that would probably fail as he had replaced several in the last while. More good news.To add insult to injury, the toaster, Model KMT211OB0 gave it up shortly after the dishwasher did. The rack would no longer stay down when the side handle was depressed. We just threw it out and bought a different brand instead and it works just fine. Yeah, Im upset. So is my wife as KitchenAid was her preference for our new kitchen and she wanted our appliances to match. I guess they do to some extent, they are all pieces of crap, aside from the microwave Model YKHMS1850SS-2 that still seems to be fine. Buyer beware, do your research before spending your money. Im doing plenty of that now looking for new appliances and KitchenAid would never even have been a contender had we known what we do now.

In my quest to contact Whirlpool (US), with perseverance, creativity, luck and detective work I received a telephone call from Whirlpool (U.S.) shortly after my initial review. A Whirlpool Executive (Mr. Chastain) was apologetic and took control and personal responsibility of my problem. Mr. Chastain arranged for a technician to service my microwave to my satisfaction and provided me with a full refund for all Whirlpool service charges (parts and labour). While I am grateful to Mr. Chastain for resolving my problem, it would be helpful if Whirlpool included direct telephone #s (not a call center) and legit email addresses on their website for consumer SOS.

You cannot use the self-clean function because if you do, your oven quits working. Something burns out. I suspect that it may be a temp high limit switch - unable to get straight answers from Whirlpool who sell KA appliances. Our local dealer was unable or couldnt be bothered to help. Whirlpool said that this was the first time they heard of this problem!! What a bunch of malarkey. I spent $8,000.00 on a wall oven, fridge, gas countertop stove, dishwasher and microwave. From the day we received our fridge we had problems: the doors wouldnt stay closed. If the right door only was open, then shut, the left door would pop open. There was condensation running down the flange between the doors constantly. In the morning wed come down to the kitchen and find a door slightly open even though it was closed when we went to bed. We had about 10 service calls for the fridge with the door issue in the first year and nothing ever was solved. Hinges were replaced, the fridge was re-leveled, moisture setting adjusted and so on, over and over again. What is the definition of insanity...doing the same thing over and over again know the results will be the same. This was what was happening because all the servicemen did the same thing over and over again without any different results. How much time can a person take out of their day to deal with such nonsense?I started asking for an exchange about half way into the process of service calls and was refused. I kept arguing we have a food safety issue here and this didnt seem to mean anything to anyone. I also tried getting to speak with a supervisor. Denied. Finally, just as the fridge was 1 year in my kitchen I managed to speak with someone who made an exchange finally happen. This refrigerator actually has doors that close, stay closed so therefore we dont have the condensation issue. The bottom line is that I had a lemon and everyone passed the buck to try and avoid exchanging the fridge. I will never purchase another KitchenAid product again. Look for my oven review next.

We purchased a Kitchenaid refrigerator 29 CF model KFIS29bbms (french doors upper/ freezer below) for $2500 exactly 1 year and 2 days ago. The ice maker began to operate sporadically 3-4 days ago. Then 2 days ago the freezer quit (although we didnt realize it till last night). Today, we called Kitchenaid - they said warranty ran out two days ago!! They said too bad you are out of warranty! After getting a supervisor on the phone the best we could get was Kitchenaid would pay for parts but we are stuck paying for service call and labor. They said a service man would be out in 3 days.So in the meantime we have moved all of our food to our 13 year old General Electric beer fridge in the garage. The GE still works fine, we paid about $800 for it new back then - so it now has to carry the load for our $2500 Kitchenaid piece of junk. I wish I had read these reviews before making this purchase as it appears many other people are having the problems as us.

Our KitchenAid built-in electric/convection oven started a fire and burnt a turkey to a crisp because I made the oh-so-unthinkable mistake of basting it during cooking. The repairman came out and said its normal for the broiler to come on during the cooking cycle if the oven temperature falls, but I cant see how any appliance manufacturer can think this is a good idea. Aside from the fact that this feature makes conventional roasting and other types of cooking impossible, more critically, it represents a serious design flaw that makes the oven a fire hazard. I have contacted the CEO of Whirlpool about this hazard but I do not expect any satisfaction given the response KitchenAid had when a cheap relay on our 13-month-old refrigerator failed causing the temperature to rise and all the food within to spoil. They simply told us that since the fridge was one month past the warranty, it wasnt their problem. How can they justify making appliances that have the potential to harm people?

The customer service rep got a supervisor but they refused to even help on the part cost. So now after spending $800 we must pay another $400 to fix. I could have bought another Bosch to last another 11 years (the last dishwasher in this house) but went with a domestic piece of garbage instead. Im appalled that they wouldnt even give a discount on the part - instead tried to sell me a NEW dishwasher at a discount! I will never ever ever buy KitchenAid again. Our $9,000 KitchenAid built-in fridge is 10 years old and required $1,500 in repairs for a faulty control board. The original control board is discontinued (my guess is because they found that it was faulty) and it will now cost even more for the repairman to rebuild the current board. I am not sure why this appliance costs so much when there is no noticeable difference between this fridge and our last homes fridge (except for the fact that it is built in) and clearly you are not paying for quality. For this price I expect better quality control and longer lasting products. When we replace this fridge I will definitely buy another brand. Apparently the fridge has had lots of previous maintenance as well. The company told us that they have been out to our house with the previous owners multiple times. Its shocking to me that a $8,0000-$9,000 appliance could require so much maintenance in the first ten years of its life. I have had appliances for many, many years and never had paint bubble and come off as this has, especially a brand new appliance. Great looking 30 inch range with double oven and four burners and center hot plate. Bottom oven a little too low, tough bending over to pull up a 22 lb. turkey. Other than that its a beautiful thing.

One year and two months after purchase the refrigerator needed a new compressor, evaporator, etc. It was not cooling the freezer drawer. Certified repair required two visits to diagnose and then make the replacements. We were treated very poorly by the tech. Who refused to state if the repair was successful only saying lets wait and see. Over two hundred dollars’ worth of food spoiled. Compressor runs non-stop. Not sure if problem was solved and concerned that more problems to come. Disappointing experience that was a huge inconvenience.

I remodeled my kitchen in June of 2012 and installed all KitchenAid appliances. Two weeks after the warranty was up on my dishwasher, it stopped working. I decided to get a contract, in case something happened again. Well it did. In 2014, the panel needed to be replaced, and today I just had a service person in to fix it again because its not cleaning the dishes. So to date, I have spent another $600 on this dishwasher, in addition to its original cost. The next time it breaks, Im just going to buy a new one -- and it will not be a KitchenAid! One other thing to note. I complained and complained to KitchenAid about the problems, thinking that they would do something to make up for the issues. But all I received was a form letter that basically said, too bad!

Expensive KitchenAid dishwasher (model # KUDPO1FLBL5) is building up of hazardous black mold on interior monthly. KitchenAid would only refer me to A&E appliances for repair at my expense as dishwasher was past one-year warranty. After taking a day off work technician never showed. After speaking with two KitchenAid supervisors in Cleveland, Tn., Wanda and Benjamin, who were unapologetic and wasting over three hours on hold with both companies, I received no satisfaction other than the option of taking yet another day off work and rescheduling with A&E. If you are thinking about buying any KitchenAid appliances, you should think twice. And incidentally, according to Forbes, CEO Jeff Fettig made $45 million in the last 5 years.

My KitchenAid dishwasher stopped working, no power to machine, after 18 months. I had a family plumber look at it and he said the machine was getting power to all parts, but front panel must be broken. I called KitchenAid and they gave me a number of a local certified repair place and said all parts are under warranty. The repair place came in 2 days and didnt even look at the machine. The man took the front panel off and fixed it in 5 minutes by replacing the thermal cutout, he said. He said it is a common problem with this model, that this part overheats and blows out and the company knew about this but did not recall these models. He replaced it with a newer version now made to not let this happen. I feel KitchenAid should pay for the service repair since it was a part they knew was defective. I called KitchenAid customer service and they said they wont pay because there was no recall on this model. Great customer service. I will never buy a KitchenAid product again and will tell all friends and family to do the same.

After 2 years my KitchenAid Dishwasher model #KUDC10IXBL2 needed a new circuit board replacement. We had an extended service contract - great you would think, but not so. After replacement, we had water leaking from the dishwasher. Now my hardwood floors are lifting and I have bowls under the door to catch leaking water. This is after numerous repairs of the gasket. KitchenAid does not take responsibility for damage done to your personal property. KitchenAid also contracts with a repair company called A&E. A&E gives you a time frame for repair between 8 am and 5 pm, so to say the least we have lost out on vacation time as we need to take a day off for repair. Each time the repair guy comes additional damage is done - most times they forget to have ordered the necessary parts, so need to reschedule to come back out. This last time I phone KitchenAid who told me the service guy could deem the appliance a lemon, however the service guy told us they would not allow him to do this. A&E has put into repairs on this dishwasher over $800 and we paid $535 for the item. Last week A&E came out again, it ran well before they left. The next day I went to run the dishwasher and bolts popped off and the unit gushed water. Seriously! My recommendation would be research your product well, not purchase a service contract through KitchenAID and ask if the service repair company contracted with is A&E. Bad experience and the poorest customer service ever!
