Our refrigerator is only 18 months old, a Whirlpool Gold gx5htxvyo5. It was sold to us believing it was stainless steel. There is no way scratches come from nowhere. We have a Whirlpool dishwasher and stove in stainless steel. You cant compare how much better they are. Im very dissatisfied. Wed like to have new doors. Something is very wrong with the finish on these doors.

This Whirlpool, two door, refrigerator with ice maker & water, replaced a very poor quality 'LG' refrigerator which had stopped working. The company, "LG" was not interested in learning what the problem was but was only interested in making sure we understood the fee for an "LG" repair person to come out. The set fee was a minimal of $150.00 without any repairs. We decided to toss the LG and went to our local Home Depot and purchased our Whirlpool that same day, on sale! Our Whirlpool has been working great, without any problems and the fresh, filtered water is always refreshingly cool. We would very highly recommend Whirlpool! It seems their products always work very well!

Our Whirlpool 40-gallon electric hot water heater, purchased in 2008, has performed fine, until today when it flooded our basement and, of course, did not provide hot water. As the paperwork says, it has a 12-year warranty. What options do we have for repair or replacement, preferably replacement?I was unable to contact anyone on the 877-817-6750 number due to the bad weather. The model # is EE3J40RD045V, the serial # is 0742130246, and the product # is **.

I purchased my stove in June 2020. I had no idea it was to be connected to the internet, but no big deal. Had I known of all the other quirks I would have thought twice. 1: A red light comes on to tell you a burner is on but not which one. 2: A red light appears when a burner is hot but it doesnt show which one. 3: Only 3 burners out of 5 can be used for cooking the other 2 are warming and melting ONLY. 4: The stove updates its software whenever it feels like it and shuts off the oven and burners. 5: Periodically I have the oven on and it just turns itself off!6: The touch controls for the oven are in a bad spot because if you accidentally touch them when the oven is on the oven will shut off.Not sure if it has any serious problems just the inconveniences listed.

I just replaced a 4 year Cabiro washer with a Samsung. The washer was making terrible loud noise when spinning. It sounded like a jet plane. The repairman said it was a bearing that was going out and that it was a common problem in the Cabiro washers. Cost to repair it would be $500.00. Last week, it finally started spewing oil from underneath so had to buy a new washer. I will never, ever buy anything made by Whirlpool. Whirlpool said it was off the one year warranty (duh) and they wouldnt help with repairs.

I purchased my Whirlpool Double-Oven one year ago and couldnt wait to use my new oven. I was told it was so efficient because I could use the top oven for quick baking instead of heating the entire oven (plus I could set it at different temperature settings). About a month in, I cooked 2 pizzas side by side. The first one burnt to a crisp and the one right beside it was doughy on top and burnt on the bottom. Not thinking, I blamed the pizzas! I also blamed myself, thinking it was me not being used to the stove.A few weeks later, I baked cupcakes. About 15 minutes in, I smelled burning and the cupcakes were raw on top and burnt black on the bottom. I called Whirlpool and they sent a technician out and he replaced the circuit board/clock. Worked for a couple of weeks and then the burning began again. Called Whirlpool again - another technician came out and adjusted the temperature. Here I am again, had to call Whirlpool again. This stove has been so inconsistent and Im so tired of wasting food because of this stove. My 4-year old Whirlpool dryer also went out last week so needless to say, Im not very fond of Whirlpool right now! If you are planning on buying a Whirlpool product, buyer beware and I hope you have a lot of patience...

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 2 years ago and they are an absolute piece of junk!!! There is only 2 people in our family so its not like we are washing big loads. It doesnt get my clothes clean and the clothes stink. I have followed the directions on cleaning the washer and it does not good. Now my clothes are soaking wet at the end of the cycle so I have to put it on drain and spin just to get most (not all) the water out of them. And when I take my clothes out, they are just as dirty as when I put them in. Called a technician and its going to cost over $400.00 to fix. This is nothing short of robbery!!!! This machine is a piece of junk. I read over 500 reviews on this washer and they all had problems that cost as almost as much as the washer cost to repair. There really needs to be a recall or a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool.

Thirty minutes into running the oven self cleaning cycle for the first time, the middle pane of glass exploded! Weve had this range two years 4 months, and didnt buy the extended warranty. I contacted Whirlpool and they acted like this was the first theyve heard of this. I inquired on the class action law suit in New York from 2012, the year we bought ours, and they had no comment. They were willing to sell us an extended one year warranty and we pay for the service call for only $332! I declined and will never buy a Whirlpool product again.

Very similar experience with warranty issues as everyone else. I purchased a brand new $2k side by side stainless steel model in Dec of 2013. It began not cooling in August of 2014 and they have since had 8 repairs and still will not exchange the fridge/replace the fridge. We finally had to buy another fridge and put it in our garage in order to have food in our home (of 5 kids and 2 adults). Ridiculous customer service every phone call. Possibly the least educated, rudest individuals always. Never buy from Whirlpool - worst reputation ever.

Compressor needs to be replaced. I contacted Whirlpool and they said 6 years is old for an appliance. Seriously!?? What about 13 months when the compressor went? They obviously dont stand behind their products. They are unable to admit I got a dud. Im so disappointed and frustrated. Stay clear!!!

Ive spent more repairing this washer than what I paid for it new!!! Its really ridiculous that Whirlpool isnt more responsible for their equipment that doesnt stand up to their name! Ive replaced more things than I want to type but just to start the computer board, pump, bearings just to name a few. Each time I had my repairman out it was a minimum of $300 to repair. Ive had my repairman out 5 times to repair things. Thinking each time its cheaper to fix it than buy another which I surely didnt think I would be repairing it several time! At this point Im just sick to death that a washer that is for a home of myself and my daughter has broken down so much. I cant imagine what a family would go through. Even after all the repairs it still isnt right but Im done sinking money into this sinking ship of a washer! Its loud constantly stops due to un level so I have to move the clothes around usually having to repeat this several times before I can get the load to finish!!! Then they come out wrinkled more than they went in and I have to iron clothes. A person should NOT need to iron! May as well wash them in the river on a rock. It would be easier!!! SO DISAPPOINTED!!!

Absolutely terrible product. Have had nothing but problems with it since I got it. After 4 months the pilot started going out every couple of days. Would have to vacuum the filter just to get it to light. They eventually sent me a screen to wrap around the bottom, that would only extend the interval to maybe a week instead of going out every few days. Now tonight it wont even relight! So tomorrow Im buying another heater and throwing this piece of junk out, a waste of $750.00 for two years of headaches. Dont, trust me. Dont buy this garbage of a water heater. And like others I bought it a Lowes, done with both of these stores!

We purchased the washing machine on February 2, 2013 and initially noticed that some of the clothes were still dry when the complete load was over. Meaning that I am not saving water cost because I then have to rewash the clothes and pre-scrub the clothes. Then a little over a year later, the machine is making this extremely loud piercing noise when spinning. The cost to replace the part is $250.00+ the repairmans fee. Whirlpool says there is nothing they will do. From reading the other reviews, this is really sad because of the numerous people having the same issueS with a capital S. I definitely would support a class action suit.

I had my entire kitchen re-modeled in May of 2013 and purchase all new Whirlpool appliances. I work for Standard Pacific Homes and purchase the identical appliances we provide in our homes. I am so disappointed in the refrigerator. Two months ago it stopped making ice and I was told to replace the filter and it would be OK. I did that and still no ice. I bought ice trays. A couple of days ago, I came home to find water on my kitchen floor coming from under the refrigerator. I called Whirlpool again and no real help.... Told me to call Lowes. I called Lowes and they gave me 3 more numbers to call for service. None of those service providers had any available appointments and told me to call Whirlpool. Meanwhile my refrigerator is standing in the middle of my kitchen so I can keep the water mopped up. The refrigerator was so difficult to move. Getting the feet moved up so the wheels could touch the floor took an hour and I ended up with bruised hands. My lesson in this is to buy a better brand next time and go top of the line. I sell these to our buyers at Standard Pacific Homes everyday..... Wish I could believe in the product.

I purchased a Whirlpool front loading washer from PC Richards in January of 2010. The warranty was only for one year (the washer was new, not used). The model # is WFW9050XW. Anyway, the washer had to be repaired by PC Richards twice in the first year I had it. Once because the belt that makes the washer spin broke, then because the pump got clogged. Unfortunately, when you wash your clothes, your socks and underwear can get sucked into the pump. After that warranty expired, I purchased a warranty from my utilities company (PSE&G). I have had to contact them four times for repairs to this machine. The most recent problem is my clothes are still wet after the washer stops. I actually have to wring them out by hand to get the excess water out. When I contacted my utilities company about servicing the washer, I was informed that if the repair is more than the washer is worth they dont have to fix it. I canceled the repair and now got to the laundrymat. I figured if I wait until the end of the year, maybe the repairs wont seem excessive. I contacted Whirlpool about the problems and was informed that I should have been using a garment bag to wash my socks and underwear in. More or less the person I spoke with made it seem as though it was my fault the machine sucked up my underwear and socks. I, on the other hand, disagreed with her. I told her the washer should have been build so that it would not suck up these items. I was so totally pissed off I ended the conversation. I also informed her that I would not be purchasing any other appliances manufactured by Whirlpool or Maytag as they are affiliated. They obviously have no integrity when it comes to their product. However, I am totally baffled. Why do the Maytag machines work better and last longer than the Whirlpool machines? The washer I replaced was a Maytag. I had that machine for 17 years!!!!

I bought this piece of junk Whirlpool Cabrio washer two years ago and it’s been nothing but junk. Just like everyone else, this thing has never gotten my clothes clean no matter what I do. Anything with a drawstring or straps gets ripped up or stretched out. It’s loud and shakes, even though it’s leveled. Now, to top it off, it’s leaking water from the basket seal. I called Whirlpool and they couldnt give a damn. Since it’s out of warranty, it’s my problem, even though she said they know this machine has a lot of problems. So now Im stuck either fixing this thing or buying a new washer. Every appliance in my house is a Whirlpool and Ive had nothing but problems with several of them. I thought when I bought the brand it was a good brand and they stood behind their stuff. Boy, was I wrong! I will never buy Whirlpool again! They should recall this washer!

My WTW4900BWO failed after about 2 1/2 years. Out of warranty, but I called Whirlpool Customer Service and was initially delighted that they offered to sell me a repair warranty that would cover the repair of my broken transmission. Was told that through AIG Insurance, I would have a repairman at the house tomorrow to repair the washer. A few hours later, their contracted local repair service called to try to push appointment back a day but I refused since I was told my washer would be repaired tomorrow. They showed up the next day in a old faded van, diagnosed the problem and then told me they would have to get authorization and come back in 3-4 days. A couple of days later I received a voice mail from AIG saying that since the cost of repair was more than the cost of the premium, they were canceling my policy & would refund my money. So a week later I still had a broken machine and no solution other than buying a new one or paying the cost of a new one to repair. Moral of the story: Whirlpool builds unreliable washing machines (and water softeners) and their customer service will promise you a repair that may not happen. Dont buy Whirlpool, but if you feel compelled, you better buy an extended warranty and cross your fingers. That said, we always had purchased GE appliances and never had a problem.

For many years, I have worked on and tested water heater thermocouples. I have a lot of experience with this. I have checked around many of the wholesale supply houses to find a simple part needed for this brand/manufacturer appliance. Johnstone Supply, a national wholesale distributor, Grainger, etc. cannot get these parts. You must call Whirlpool and wait on the phone and give the operator the full story about what you found and how you tested the water heater only to be told you dont know what you are talking about. I was told that if the pilot lights and stays lit for even several minutes, that it is not the thermocouple but the gas valve and they will not sell me the part and recommend either I purchase a whole gas valve assembly and revised thermocouple or they would not sell me anything. Then I got told that I am on a waiting list to be called for availability of the parts at some time within the next 24 hours. Or just buy a new water heater from us with a warranty. Really? This is why you should not even have wasted your time with these people and move on to a better future. I asked,Can I purchase a box of thermocouples for this type of water heater with a left hand thread? The answer to this was, No, we will need the serial # for each unit that has had any part put on it. Move on, I say. This was a big waste of time by me, the plumber, and my customers happiness.

It stopped spinning and rinsing clothes. I called for service. No luck with that. So in order to wash, I had to drag the washer to the back door (which ripped up my new floors) hang hose outside for it to finish the load. On 02/25/13 we purchased a Whirlpool Gold Series side by side (French door) refrigerator with an ice maker at the cost of $1,850.00. In April of 2014 the ice maker stopped working and the freezer at the bottom would not freeze food. Luckily for us it was still under warranty and was repaired. At the time of the repair, the repairman (associated with HHGregg) told us that the refrigerator should have been replaced since the cost of the repair was more than the fridge itself. I have owned a Whirlpool Cabrio HE WTW6400SW3 for two years and have had nothing but issues from the start. Control panel was replaced twice under warranty. Also the clothes (socks underwear) were under the tub blocking the drain. This is not covered under the warranty. I was told by the repairman that this is the usual issue. He told me they took the front loader design and just stood it up with no protection from garments and coins getting under the tub, through the under tub filter often and into the drain pump. You are kidding me? Almost $1000 for this washer and its so ill designed. I have read forums that this has been an ongoing issue for several years yet Whirlpool continues to build these. I dont vent to forums often but just now I finished removing the tub to remove 2 socks and 7 cents. Also, I had to remove the drain pump and found another 16 cents inside it. So far the pump has not been ruined but this time water is coming out from the machine so will probably be ordering another pump for it as well. The wife wants it out of the house tomorrow and not another cent spent on it. But it is only two years old. What do you do? If you are reading this because you are searching for a new washer do not purchase a Whirlpool! I have gotten nothing but grief and was put off by their customer service dept as well. I guess after fielding so many calls about the same thing they have been told to just put all the calls off as no big deal. I am sure Whirlpool is making a killing off the sales on this unit. The claims made during the sale convinced me. What a joke. Look around the internet and you will find hundreds if not thousands of the same issues.

We purchased a new home April 2013. All our appliances were new Whirlpool stainless. Looked nice. After almost a year our microwave started acting improperly. Beeping, changing screens, not working when buttons pushed. Then the micro wave had a melt down and caused the glass try to break, parts to melt and caught fire internally melting plastic. Notified Whirlpool and they sent out individuals to repair. After several weeks the repair was completed and we were advised that they did not understand why this would or could happen. We should be fine now. Well we are now again having this unit beeping, changing screens, not working when tried, and when entering numbers, number and time are not what was trying to be entered. Near the beginning of September I started having trouble with my dishwasher. I called for service to be informed it would be a week before someone would be able to see to my broken dishwasher - which of course is a long wait just for a diagnosis call so decided to call another provider to get my dishwasher fixed in a more timely manner. The repair person informed me that it was the control panel but he suggested we call Whirlpool in order to have it fixed as the part should be covered under warranty. Much to my sadness I had to call again for an appointment with Whirlpool to find out I would wait for a week for a repair person to come out even though I already knew it was the control panel and asked them to order the part right away.Sept. 13 repair man from Whirlpool affiliate comes to my house for about 10 minutes to tell me what I already knew - it was control panel and maybe 1 other part. Cost $99.00 for just 10 minutes - Wow! Then the repair person said he would order the part right away /estimated to be back Monday September 19th great! Two weeks go by we have heard nothing about our part or possible repair of our dishwasher. Call Hurst appliance to see what is happening to be informed the panel is on back order - and they have no clue when it will be available. I should call the manufacturer. Call manufacturer to be told part might possibly be available - Oct 5th - from the United States from somewhere out east in Canada. Who knows? Oct 5th comes and goes as of Monday October 11 have heard nothing about my dishwasher and when it will be repaired - phone manufacturer - by the way which is in Tennessee. What a joke! She says the part is still on backorder but that a replacement part for the back ordered part is miraculously available - she couldnt tell me when that came about, so still have no clue when my dishwasher will be fixed. They have offered to reimburse me the $99.00 service call, but seriously should it take over 6 weeks to have your dishwasher fixed. I still have no clue how long it will take for the part to get here and installed. For 2 cents I would return all my KitchenAid appliances but especially my dishwasher. $99.00 does not appease me. I would like them to cover the labour to fix my dishwasher or a new dishwasher. What garbage and asked to talk to someone higher than the supervisor Gabby of the customer service dept. and was told she is the highest person in Whirlpool I could talk to - thats a joke. Shame on Whirlpool!

I bought a Whirlpool dishwasher in 2008 from Best Buy and purchased the extended warranty through Best Buy. First of all, my complaint is not with Best Buy (model # DU1145XTPBA). I have had nothing but trouble with the unit not filling with water, being noisy, and other problems. And then, my intelligence is insulted by these independent contractors, who are supposed to be appliance repair specialists. I found that far from the truth in most cases. They have a list of patented things that the consumer is doing wrong: not having a hot water heater next to the unit, using too much detergent, not loading it properly, and on and on. They must think we are idiots. I always would run the water from the sink till it got hot before filling. And I am a miser so I use less detergent than what the manufacturer or the detergent package says. Anyway to make a long tale short, it started leaking last week, so I assumed the door seal or some other such thing. But lo and behold, the door is rotted out at the bottom. The black finish has bubbled up and the metal is actually rotting away. I am from up north and it looks like my old Chevy 2 Nova rotted out. I called Whirlpool and spoke with several people and supposedly someone in management. They were, of course, sympathetic but offered no assistance or explanation. They offered to send a factory authorized repairman to replace the door at more than the cost of a new dishwasher. Are we that stupid? They never offered me a voucher for a discount on a new unit, which I am going to have to buy. I would not have accepted it anyway, as my last few experiences with Whirlpool have been dreadful. I will never buy another Whirlpool anything. The name used to stand for a quality product that you could depend on. But now it is like most things are offered to the consumer in this throw away society. And as long as we keep buying inferior products and only expecting them to last a few years, I am afraid that is what we will continue to get. Be vocal and let them know how you feel, even though they are probably yawning on the other side of the phone. They are without compassion and could not care any less. They are just looking for a paycheck and have probably heard a hundred complaints like mine, so its water off the proverbial ducks back. But when its their own job in jeopardy, perhaps they will start passing on these complaints to someone who will be willing to listen. Its a very bad experience and I will never buy Whirlpool again.

I bought a Whirlpool fridge in June of 2014 and the plastic part of the stainless steel handle that attaches it to the fridge broke about a month or so later. After replacing the fridge because the company said they no longer made the part they gave me a new fridge and with that one the door would not close without leaving a gap of about 1/3rd of an inch open at the hinge side. They took that fridge back and sent me a new fridge. A week later I got in the mail a handle for the first fridge which I no longer had. About a week after that I noticed that the latest and third fridges handle had a crack in the same place. Whirlpool sent me 5 replacement parts and they were all defective with the same crack visible in the replacements. Finally I got a replacement handle that looked good and it broke today, Feb 6th 2016, in the same place as the first one. I should mention that each time the company replaced the fridge it was with a different and better model and each with a slightly different handle. There are other design flaws with the fridge. The door is in a corner and there are cabinets on the wall so the door can only open slightly more than 90 degrees which makes it impossible to open the crisper drawer enough to get a cabbage in it and if I want to clean the crisper drawer I must move and turn the fridge in the kitchen. Also if the crisper drawer is not closed completely it causes the guard rail on the bottom door shelf to fly off sending everything on the bottom shelf to fall to the floor. Fun when some are made of glass and filled with liquid. You would think I would have learned my lesson about this company but no! I went to Lowes and bought a Whirlpool dishwasher and when I saw that the automatic door would not open enough to dispense the soap, powder or packet I called a certified Whirlpool repairman who told me after receiving a duplicate that of course would not work either, that there was no solution to the problem and I went back to Lowes and bought a Samsung and my problems were solved. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER Whirlpool or as I now call it, Whirledpoo, product, EVER.

We purchased this machine new and took delivery on 5/21/11. We did not start using this until late August of 2011. In late November we noticed a loud noise from the washer. When we contacted the sales company that sent out a repair person who informed us the bearings were defective. We have been told the parts are on back order for another 2-4 weeks. It has already been 4 weeks since they were out. Whirlpool was no help. They first claim we must have overloaded the machine, then relented saying that things happen. Either way I am without a washing machine we paid $1000.00 for another month; yet they will not extend my warranty at least for the time my machine is down. I am now worried about the damage that this unit may have caused to my new home due to water leakage, let alone the added expense to due my laundry since I must now use a service to provide for a washing machine I own.

I bought a 50 Gallon Whirlpool Gas Water Heater with an extended warranty from Lowes, it has not been delivering hot water as it should. I checked with Lowes and they told me I needed to call Whirlpool first and get a number from them before they could do anything. I called Whirlpool and they had me do a water volume and a hot water time test. By their own time test guide, my water temperature fell 30 degrees in 13 minutes and 52 seconds, when it should not have dropped 30 degrees until 18 minutes. When I reported this to Whirlpool I was told that there was nothing wrong with the water heater. I then lodged a complaint with the representative but it sounds as if nothing was going to be done.So I am out $999 for a faulty water heater and an extended warranty. Will update if anything changes. One of the reasons we bought this product was it said: MADE IN AMERICA. We wont buy any product made by Whirlpool again, We feel they dont stand behind their product.

I am completely dissatisfied with the Whirlpool Cabrio top loading machine. Our washing machine is less than one-year-old. It doesnt get the clothes clean, especially the darks, and it is so rough on the clothes that they come out twisted tied into knots. The dark clothes come out dirtier than they went into machine. Even though we use the dark detergent on the dark clothes and program for an extra rinse cycle, the clothes come out with white powder all over them. They need to be washed again and sometimes again. And sometimes they still dont come out clean. That is not very energy efficient. The clothes come out of the machine so wrinkled that everything needs to be ironed. I can imagine making washing machine that doesnt do its primary function, which is to get clothes clean. Todays families do not have time for this extra work.

Oct 14th I walked down to our basement to find it flooded. Turns out the leak came from the solenoid that controls the water feed to our Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator. Now, some $28,000 in damages later - floors/cabinets/walls/electronics - you name it. The repair company said that they replace these units a lot as it is simply a faulty design and Whirlpool knows this as this part is very difficult to obtain - too much demand. Well aside from the cost, the inconvenience, and the rise in our insurance rates the repair person said there was a good chance of the new part failing as well - it just cant take the water pressure as it is just cheap plastic. My advice - stay away from Whirlpool!

It was on sale and the price was good for comparable refrigerators. The biggest problem is that instead of a simple dial to control temperature, you have to be a computer genius to figure out how to turn it to a different temp. even by the instructions. And the ice maker throws ice all over the floor even if you hold the glass up against the top. When I first got it, it made a very loud noise when it run, but that changed with time to a bearable volume. Everything seems to work well other than those few little things.

My Side-by-Side Whirlpool fridge which I bought very expensive in Colombia
My Side-by-Side Whirlpool fridge which I bought very expensive in Colombia one year ago had the glass shelves totally cloudy and foggy. You could hardly see what was inside. 8 technicians were sent through the authorized center to meet warranties to check the fridge. The first 7 technicians(!) did not have a clue of what the problem was. After many calls, they sent a supervisor who discovered the problem and finally, after 10 months of this battle, they changed the fridge for a new one. But guess what?! I received the new fridge 2 weeks ago and the new one has exactly the same problem. I am very disappointed and I do not know what to do at this point. Going through the same process again makes me sick but losing my money and all the time invested in this product makes me furious. Is there any way that Whirlpool can help me through this forum?

Two years ago, we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine from Sears. All of a sudden, it was making sounds in the spin cycle that sounded like a jet airplane taking off. It was terribly loud. We called repair technician, which cost $90, only to find out that the bearing is gone and its going to cost over $500 to fix it. This is absolutely ridiculous! We expected it to last several years, only to find out that we would have to spend almost as much as the washer originally cost in order to fix it. We paid $700 for this machine, two years ago, and I can say that Ive never been more disappointed with a product in my life. My previous washer lasted thirteen years, not to mention my dryer and stove fifteen years, with minimal repairs. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again. I have read some other complaints on this consumer affairs website, as well as other sites, regarding this same washer with the same problem on the bearing and cost to repair. If anything, I think Whirlpool should make good on this product and offer something regarding a recall or payment for repair in some form. As far as Im concerned, I will alert everyone I know about Whirlpool appliances and advise them not to purchase it. Now, I either have to pay over $500 to repair my washer or go buy another one. I do not even want this Whirlpool appliance in my house when I can get a washer for cheaper than the cost to repair it.

I purchased a 40 gallon water heater at Lowes and installed about 3 years ago. A couple of weeks ago, it got an upper sensor failure code on the gas valve. It would heat by resetting (turning valve off, waiting a minute and then lighting) but after a few minutes, it would fail again. I called the customer service and they mailed out a new upper sensor. When it came a few days later (I paid for shipping), I installed it but the same failure code. Again, the only heat I could get was by resetting the valve several times before a shower. I called customer service again, told them what I did and they said, Oh, the problem is the gas valve then. So they mailed out a new gas valve unit. It then came a few days later and I installed it according to the enclosed directions to the letter. Still got the failure code and still had to keep resetting it to get any warm water before a shower.I called customer service again, told them what I did and he said, Well, did you flush the water heater with apple cider vinegar before you installed the new gas valve? I said, No, it wasnt in the enclosed directions to do so. He said, You should have done that and it would have worked. I will send out a new gas valve. At this point, I blew up. Two weeks with no reliable hot water. I told him I want a new water heater and he refused. I asked to speak to his superior. He said no. Dont ever get a Whirlpool product. Some other crappy company builds these turds.

I have had a terrible experience with fridge Whirlpool. Two fridges have been delivered to me in bad condition. The first one was aesthetically awful (looked old and used) and the freezer didnt work so it was exchanged. The second one works and it looks ok but it makes very loud noises all day every day. I live in an open concept condo and this fridge sounds like a train for more than an hour more than 5 times a day, it is terrible. I have been calling customer support for a solution and first of all, there are no technicians in my area, and since the fridge works as designed there is nothing to fix so Im stuck with a terrible noisy fridge that I hate and destroys my day which I paid a lot of money for thinking that the brand meant quality but it doesnt. Customer support doesnt respect the customer and their answer that the first works as designed makes me understand that Whirpool designs bad quality fridges. I have never heard a fridge making these noises, not even brands that are less named than Whirlpool. For your inner peace, I recommend you to stay away from Whirlpool-Maytag fridges... If the fridge is in bad condition (but working) youre going to be stuck with it. The brand doesnt really mean quality and support... it just means more expensive.

Our microwave is less than 8 months old, hardly used and only for heating items. Besides the point, being under a year old. It began to make noise and pop, spark sounds with the smell of burning wires and promptly stopped working. We called the customer service line and began the long frustrating circle of completely bizarre conversation. Maintaining our belief this is a fire hazard and not wanting it in our home they insist on a repair person coming after trying to sell us Extended warranty, Why would we want Extended warranty when the warranty is NO warranty, it seems, whatsoever. After requesting to speak to a supervisor 3 times. A overly bubbly person comes on the repeat same spiel and to make an appointment for 1 week away from 8am to 4pm to be available for a phone call to make an appointment to see about repair on said fire hazard microwave that is less than a year old. This appointment is made with repair place and they too are confused and noted Whirlpool said this is not covered under warranty, and they too would contact them.Today Whirlpool Canada calls and gives number to repair place to book appointment, Hello we already have one and the frustrating verbal dance continues. 5 minutes after this call the repair place calls, as whirlpool contacted them as well to book appointment, which we both could agree this is the bizarrest situation since we already have an appointment, from their appointment. We keep saying we feel unsafe, this is a fire hazard. Which they completely ignore. This is unacceptable and extremely poor service.

We have had this pair for about 2 years now (Lowe’s). It still doesnt clean the clothes and it continually goes off balance when doing sheets, comforters etc. Myself I feel since they have taken the middle agitator out of the machine - it no longer performs the way a washer should and that its main function is to get the clothes clean! Purchased a Whirpool Cabrio washer. We bought this on sale at a Lowes and paid half the original price. Get it delivered and set up no issues. After about a week of washing clothes, there is a God awful smell coming from the washer because the water does not drain completely! I have used refresh washer cleaner to try and get it to go away. Most of the time there is no smell, but about once every other week, the smell is so bad it permeates through my home and makes it smell of rotten garbage. I do not recommend this washer. The cycle times jump around from the original time it tells you and the smell is just so bad. The little tray where you put liquid detergent doesnt even have a way to drain the detergent into the laundry properly and after every wash I have to dump the tray out because it stays filled with water where the water comes in and causes the detergent to rise out of the tiny hole on top. You might as well just add the detergent directly onto your clothes. I use an excellent brand of detergent that has top reviews and my clothes still dont come out smelling good from this washer. I have tried other detergents too to make sure it wasnt that one. I wish my hubby and I wouldve never paid for this thing and gone with a different one.

Apparently, Whirlpool selling all their rejected faulty washing machine in the market. The trick they are playing is the machine being sold with one year parts-labor warranty; They wont replace these machines with a new one because they know that these machine will never work, consumer will buy the faulty machine, obviously it wont work so consumer will call for service. The service guy will say that “oh! Machine needs a part and then the customer service will say “the part is being ordered”, “wait”, then the service guy will come with the part and after wasting some time he will say “Oh! The machine needs another part, and again customer service will tell the consumer that “you keep calling us”. One year will be gone! Bottom line – faulty machine is sold, Whirlpool made profit, buyer is robbed. Three years ago I bought a Whirlpool 22 cf bottom freezer (GB2FHDXWB02) & within 2 weeks it developed its first problem. Ive had service men out 3 times (on an extended warranty) for ice buildup and leakage, presumably from the icemaker, and the problem hasnt been solved yet. I tried to open the freezer tonight and the handle pulled off in my hands, nearly sending me head over heels. This thing is a major lemon!!! Dont get me wrong: I love the design! It looks good, keeps everything at the right temps & the bottom freezer is a great idea. Id buy the same design again if I could guarantee no leakage and a handle that wont separate from the door. Now Im having problems getting the repair service to come out here again, despite the warranty. Meanwhile, the fridge is leaking onto the wood laminate floor causing damage. I just replaced an ancient dishwasher & my old Whirlpool glasstop stove after its oven failed. I cant afford a new fridge too.

This time the angle that supports the drum broke and Whirlpool says drum needs to be replaced. HOWEVER, after waiting a month company says DRUM IS UNAVAILABLE. Which means my machine has become absolutely useless just because Whirlpool does not have the spare. Whirlpool has a ridiculous track record with poor service and poor product quality. In 2014, we redesigned our kitchen for two side kick gorgeous looking white fridge and freezer (Fridge was $1099 & Freezer was $1099, plus extended warranty $436.19 CDN.) Within 2 years the evaporator blew. $1000 dollar repair that Whirlpool covered, yay!. BUT 3.5 years later the compressor blew...another $1000. Whirlpools response...Sorry Sears went under and the fridge is 5.5 years old. Whirlpool discontinued the model so no new fridge for us unless we re-do a whole bank of cabinets. Forewarned is forearmed. Stay away from whirlpool. There are better brands. Do your homework! Sue from Edmonton, Alberta

On May 15, 2017, I purchased a new Whirlpool Water Heater, unknowingly made by American Water Heater Co., from Lowes (receipt attached). Model Number ES40R10-55 with a 10 year warranty. The water heater was installed using the directions in the owners manual. Upon turning on the current to the water heater after it was filled with water and all air removed from the plumbing, the module gave a code stating the top element was not working. Called the Technician Assistance Hotline and they gave me a RA number to get a new top element from Lowes. Got that on May 16 and had to call the plumber that is contracted by American Water Heater Co. to come to the house and inspect the heater to make sure it was installed correctly. The water heater worked once the new element was installed. On Oct. 3, 2017, had more issues with the module stating the top element was not working. Called the Tech. Assistance Hotline and they gave me another RA number to get another top element. On Oct. 4, got the top element and installed it. The water heater started working again. On Oct. 6, the module stated the bottom element was not working. Called the Tech. Assistant Hotline and had the plumber come out. He determined that he could not find out why it was doing this and also said that both elements were good along with the element that I removed on Oct. 4, which I still had. Since then, the module has been giving codes stating that both elements are bad and I have not had any hot water since Oct. 7. American Water Heater Co., Whirlpool, and Lowes all refuse to give me a refund for this piece of junk! All blame the other for the problems and none will take any responsibility for the water heater not working. I will never buy another appliance with the Whirlpool name and definitely will not buy anything made by American Water Heater Co. I also will never buy another appliance from Lowes as they are not willing to help me in this matter. If you do not want to experience the headache and frustration of owning a new appliance that does not work, I would suggest that you do the same!!!

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer - I have had my washer for about 4 years, paid $1,000.00 for the unit and now I am being told that the control board needs to be replaced and it will cost me anywhere between $300-$600 to fix it. My point is, a washer should last longer than 4 years especially if you paid good money for what I thought was a reputable brand.

We purchased our Whirlpool dishwasher/Model no. WDT780SAEM in July 2016 and it was installed on August 3, 2016. Right away we noticed 2 problems. The top tray squeaks very loudly when being pulled out for loading and unloading. The usual temporary fix for this would be using a product like WD-40. Of course as soon as you run the dishwasher all of the product is washed away. This was our first complaint about this dishwasher. The more important problem was the white cloudy residue being left on all of our clear plastic cups and glasses. Weve always had hard water but our previous dishwashers were able to remove the residue if we used the high-temperature wash. After looking at all of the manuals and user guides that are included with the purchase we read that we should be using a rinse agent and a product such as Lemi Shine to deal with hard water deposits. We tried these items and nothing worked.Using the All Fresh tabs didnt help and our filter was clear and clean. So we made an appointment to have the Whirlpool factory serviceman come out to look into our problems. First of all the customer service representative I spoke with was rude and impatient. She kept cutting me off and asking me about hard water and suggesting that I use all of the products mentioned above before finding out that I already had used them to no avail. Because we had the dishwasher for just over 30 days I asked her about the Clean and Quiet Guarantee that I found out about by going to Whirlpools site. Her exact words were The clean and quiet what?? So I didnt have much hope for our service appointment. Our serviceman was asking all of the same questions about hard water and if we had tried all of the products I mentioned above. After his visit we found out and now (too late) know that because our new dishwasher does not have a heat booster or the ability to get the water temperature high enough to remove the hard water residue theres nothing Whirlpool will do for us. This is the case with all newer technology dishwashers UNLESS you purchase one with a heat booster. I sure wish this wouldve been made clear to us, the consumer before making our purchase. If we had known beforehand that new dishwashers no longer get the water up to 140 degrees which is what would be needed to remove the residue, we wouldve made sure our model included a heat booster. Now were stuck handwashing our plastic items if we want clear dishes. Its not the end of the world but its not good customer service or honest to the consumer in any way, shape or form.

My microwave is a Whirlpool WMC10511AW purchased in Jan 2014 for $150. It is very light weight and moves around when opening and closing the door. I have to use something behind it on the counter top to keep from moving backward and causing problems getting things in and out. In the first year we had problems with the door latch, but after a while it stopped being a problem. I am used to the stability of Amana Radarange so these very lightweight microwaves seem really cheap to me. It works fine at this point but it seems that these really inexpensive countertop microwaves have to be replaced about every 2-3 years where an Amana which costs a lot more lasts for around 20 years and are very stable not moving around all the time.

A couple years ago we purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8000 top-load, high-capacity, washing machine based upon good claims of the salesman at Lowes - Appliance Dept. This was not an inexpensive machine. However, this washing machine failed to live up to representations and performance is poor. However, biggest complaint is that clothes are able to get stuck between drum and the unique agitating device which results in holes and tears in material. This is a significant design flaw and were not sure why more people dont complain about this rather significant design flaw. Of course, there are other shortcomings... but destruction of clothes is a serious problem. While this machine is in excellent condition, it will be replaced with a more traditional washing machine with vertical agitator ASAP.

I have had too many problems with the thermocouple beginning about two year
I have had too many problems with the thermocouple beginning about two years after I purchased the water heater in 2003. Whirlpool keeps replacing the thermocouple, but I have to pay for the plumber to come out and repair the unit. This runs me about $180 each time. The thermocouple has burned out three times since September of this year. The plumber didnt charge me anything the second time it went out. But it went out for the 3rd time today and he recommended that I replace the unit. Of course, it is out of warranty and Whirlpool was happy to tell me that I could purchase a new thermocouple at my own expense from them. I have paid for this water heater three times over with repairs. Whirlpool knows that there is a defect with the design of the water heater. There is no way that a regular consumer can get inside the water heater to clean it. I will never purchase any Whirlpool products ever! I advise anyone reading this to follow suit.

Bought this set for its basic functions. We dont need a lot of bells and whistles. The washer is rated as a water saver but it seems to use more water than our 10-year-old model. The only issue we had was with the electronics. Even though it has few features, it one day decided to not function at all. A call to support recommended just unplugging it for a few minutes so it could reset itself. For once this seemingly crazy idea worked and the unit has been normal ever since. I recommend buying from the outlet store as a scratch and dent. This saves lots of money and if the unit is not on display, who cares about the minor dent.

I bought a high-efficiency Whirlpool washing machine in August 2011. One week after the warranty ran out, it stopped working. I called Whirlpool who, of course, would not fix my problem because I no longer had a warranty but did put me in touch with a repair company in my area. They came out and fixed it for 100 bucks, service and parts (service, of course, cost more than the part/labor). I didnt mind the hundred bucks, whatever. My washer was working again. Two weeks ago, I experienced yet another problem with my washing machine. Now, I understand machines getting used a lot over the years and eventually burning out, but this machine is a little more than a year old. I should not be experiencing problems with such a new machine. The problem was when the machine reached the spin cycle, it would just stop working and then lights would start blinking, blah, blah, blah. I called the repairman again who came out and reset my machine, hoping that that would work. He then told me if it happened again to let him know and he would have to replace the motherboard. Okay, I can live with that. Another 73 bucks, thats fine. Of course, this didnt work, and we ended up replacing the motherboard. Another 178 bucks - thats $324 that I have now invested in a washing machine, half of what it cost to begin with. But its an investment, right? And I need clean clothes so whatever.I was a little wary when the repairman told me that a problem with the motherboard may be related to a problem with the motor, that it can send signals to the motherboard if its not working and is just a symptom of the actual diagnosis. I guess he was right because 3 loads into using my newly repaired washing machine and the same problem has arisen, yet again. I refuse to invest any more money into what is obviously a lemon. Rest assured I will never again purchase a Whirlpool product, regardless of what type of appliance it is.

We purchased the pair a year ago and its been nothing but headaches. First of all, half the clothes dont even get wet. They say its high efficiency but I dont think theres any efficiency when it doesnt even wash them. Second, when it actually does wash them, it leaves detergent all over the clothes. Imagine your black dress pants with white bleach like streaks all over them. We called because we were under warranty and a repair man came out. Totally useless. He said because its high efficiency, its supposed to do that. Not clean my clothes?? Why would I have purchased a WASHING machine that doesnt clean clothes?? Is there some other use for it Im unaware of?? He told us to try using deep water setting and extra rinse. So now we can wash 3 pair of socks at a time instead of one. Yippee.Do NOT BUY THIS CABRIO WASHER, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. Youd be better off with a plastic bucket from the dollar store. If you get it as a gift, the person who bought it for you may secretly hate you. I wish wed had the benefit of these reviews. Now were out $1500. Will NEVER, EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT AGAIN. Not only does it not work, they refuse to recall it or refund it. Off to the laundromat to WASH my clothes.

I purchased a 29 cu ft Whirlpool French Door refrigerator (WRF990SLAM) Feb, of 2013 from Lowes and have had nothing but problems since I purchased it. First, I noticed that the fridge sounded louder than normal. Then a few months later, ice started building up in back of the fridge. Then the most craziest thing ever started happening, the water dispenser started randomly shooting out water. Lastly, the ice maker takes forever to make ice. Still to this day, Whirlpool has yet to fix the problem. Funny that the technician said that theyve received a lot of complaints regarding the same issue for this model...so, I say you should be able to fix it then or replace my fridge. I have a 2yr extended warranty which states if they cannot fix my fridge after 3 attempts then they have to replace it. They refuse to honor that. Whirlpool and Lowes are full of crap!!! Whirlpool doesnt care at all that their products are crappy and their service is bad. They sent me a survey asking how do I like my product and I informed them of my issues and they sent me a response to purchase an extended warranty. Now, if they really reviewed the surveys, they would see that I have an extended warranty for 2yrs but regardless of that what about the issues Im having with my fridge? Do you not see my comments? If you didnt care you shouldnt even bother asking. Lowes pretended to care and made me believe they were going to replace my fridge but then sided with Whirlpool and said that they have to make 3 unsuccessful attempts to fix the fridge but each attempt has to be 30 days apart. Thats a bunch of crap because its been 6 months and my fridge still has not been fixed or replaced!! I have a Samsung side by side that I bought a year before Whirlpool and never had a problem with it. I bought it from Home Depot also, along with a stove microwave and dishwasher. I will be sticking with Samsung and Home Depot from now on!

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine in September 2006, and have had nothing, but problems. I constantly have to get online to check error codes. Several months ago, the washer just stopped working. We called Whirlpool technical support. They said wed have to pay for a repair. After several calls to Whirlpool for help, I found online references to a recall for the same problem. Whirlpool NEVER mentioned that the washer was recalled for the very same problem. I called them back with the recall information, and they politely sent someone out to rebuild the washer. Less than a year later it is no longer working, again. I went online first this time, to check for further recalls and complaints about the current problem (faulty control panel). I found many complaints about the same problem--even a reference to a class action law suit. Whirlpool said they were unaware of the problem, didnt have many complaints, and are unwilling to help. I asked for a supervisor, Benjamin, and he said there was NO means by which I could further escalate my complaint.

Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # GI6SARXXF 04 Ice Maker - About nine months after purchasing this unit the ice maker began to stop working. I researched what the issue might be. During this time, the ice maker decided to begin working again. This occurred again about 15 months into ownership. At 19 months into ownership, the ice maker no longer works after approximately 5 weeks. Whirlpool will not allow me to purchase an extended warranty. I was told by a CR on the phone. However, she did offer a Repair +1 service contract that cost $345.55. I advised the CR that on the Whirlpool website, I was offered an extended warranty for 2 years for approximately $165.00. After waiting for her to check into my claim of being offered the extended warranty for about 10 minutes, she came back to advise me that no existing issues would be covered. In other words, my $2000.00+ Whirlpool refrigerator is so crappy that Whirlpool only offers a 1 year warranty. And unless I pay $345.55 and/or a service tech charging $129 for a trip charge only, I will not have a working ice maker. Additionally, the capacity for ice storage is extremely small, even for my 2 person household. At times, the ice comes out crushed even though the setting is for cubed ice. The ice shoot is great for taller glasses, but if trying to use a shorter glass, watch out! You will have ice all over your floor every time!

Model #RF262LXSQ Serial #RT2031953 - I purchased this appliance from Lowes approximately 6 years ago. Last week, I was heating soup and about 5 minutes after I placed the pot on the stove on medium, I heard a large pop and then several cracking noises. When I entered my kitchen, I found the burner flaming red, and when I tried to remove the pot, it was stuck. I immediately turned the burner off and after a few minutes, when it began to cool, was able to remove the pot. What I found was the glass top had melted and blistered and was cracked from front to the back of the stove. Although Lowes was not able to help me, they suggested that I contact you as they had never heard of this happening before. Not only am I dissatisfied that a stove should last many years past this purchase, I am inconvenienced until another stove can be delivered. In the last two years, the inner glass door of the oven has exploded. The last time was Tuesday, 14th January. The oven door was ajar because we had just finished cooking dinner. The noise was deafening but the worst thing about it was the large pieces of glass thrown all over the kitchen. Most of which were large enough and sharp enough to kill a child and seriously wound an adult. I phoned Whirlpool to report this. The operative I spoke to was very polite but told me these things happen and I could have banged it a while ago and left a weak spot! She also said a Supervisor or similar person would telephone me that day. It is now Saturday 18th January and NO phone call. MY concern is there is no mention of this being a possible problem in their literature and their obvious lack of concern under a Health and Safety situation. Not to mention the cost of replacement door glass.
