Whirlpool cabrio top load washing machine sounded like a jet engine taking off on spin cycle then started spewing grease on the floor. Called hotline with make mod ser #. Repairman came out 5 days later. OOPS! Whirlpool made a mistake, repairs not covered. Please pay repairman $450. Should have had him make the repairs then threw him out of my house.

Soon as warranty expired issues with product. This should not happen. Made in America, washer making too much noise. Products cost more but poor quality. What is this company going to produce? This is the world we live in.

Four years old and only used by a 2 family home. No kids overloading it. Probably wash 3 loads a week on average. After 4 years, it has started the grease flying out of the bottom and now leaking water. My appliance repair man told me to scrap it and buy a new one. The repair and the parts are too expensive and in the end it is still junk. I realize things wont last 30 years like they used to but can I get 7 years out of a major appliance?

Whirpool Product VMW TL WASHER with impeller absolutely is crap. I have it almost a year and it smells, and it noisy like a dog was in the machine and someone started it. Its off balance constantly. I hate it and will place on every blog the worst review I can write. Its a nightmare. It has a fake bleach dispenser a door but no holder underneath. Even the repairman thought the bleach went in the dispenser. My clothes were ruined along with sheets, etc on numerous washes. The bleach partially dispensed on dark clothes at least 8 washes.The washer was purchased at BrandsMart 11 months ago and so theres no returns.

This washing machine started giving us trouble just a few months after purchasing. Have had repairman to our home 5 times in 3 years. Last time repairman came he said future repairs would be very expensive & we should purchase another machine. Whirlpool will not have my confidence again unless they recall this machine & fix all problems.

I bought a commercial coin operator washer (Whirlpool washer model CAE2743BQ) for $800 and after using it for 4 months the washer stop working. The main board panel lights turned all and the washer did not start. Called Whirlpool several times and nobody could help me and told me to look online for a distribution center to get parts. The customer service only knew about regular washers not coin operator. The washer had only 3 months warranty from Home Depot and I was supposed to pay for all the repairs and Whirlpool would pay for parts. So far I spend $400 in repairs and the certified technicians could not repair the washer. They replaced the actuator shift, the main board etc, etc and nothing. The technicians reset the washer at least 10 times, calling Whirlpool tech support and the washer worked for one load and the main board lights stayed on all over again, the start button did not work. I sent a letter to the warranty department that I got online and they told me to call the same 1800 that I had called at least 50 times in the past year. Now it has been more than one year and the machine is defective. Technician said could be the soap that my tenants are using, or overloading the washer or an electric problem that they cannot identify. I gave up... I will not buy a coin operator heavy duty washer from them again. I requested a return authorization for a defective product and I did not get anywhere. Thanks.

We bought a top loaded Whirlpool washer, model WTW5000DW2 last May from Lowe’s for a summer beach cottage. It has been a terrible experience. There was a 30 day warranty from Lowe’s which unfortunately we missed because we had not moved down for the summer till after the 30 days. Working through Whirlpool, they sent an independent contractor out 5 times over the summer. Control panel was replaced twice. It never worked properly. I’m now back for the summer, and it still does not work. Do not buy this washer.

Washer is not worth the cost. After 4th year of use in a two person household the washer bearings are gone and require replacement. The washer sounds like an airplane. I was told based on my description of the issue that the water has leaked due to washing and spinning into the bearing assembly and has caused it to have friction. The Whirlpool warranty is just as costly as the machine.

My 15 year old front loader quit working and was going to cost more to repair than we thought was worth it. So, we went shopping at Home Depot and based on discussions with salespeople ended up with the Whirlpool cabrio toploader. What a mistake. I am so disgusted with this washer I dont even know where to start. If there was any way we could return it we would do so. The clothes come out wrinkled, twisted, absolutely covered in pet hair and detergent and fabric softener residue. Yes, Im using HE detergent, in the correct amounts. Yes, Ive read the manual front to back. Yes, Ive tried all the troubleshooting suggestions. No, they dont make a damn bit of difference.I would give anything to have my old front loader back. It was a great little machine that did a wonderful job of cleaning our laundry. Pet hair was washed off, I could lay things out to dry and they werent all wrinkly and did not require ironing. Just about everything that comes out of this cabrio machine that I lay to dry needs to be ironed before it can be worn. It is just a horrible, horrible machine and Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for foisting this off on unsuspecting consumers.

Whirlpool Cabrio washer w103386894 - I have had nothing but problems with this piece of crap washing machine. Either the clothes come out soaked at the end of the spin cycle, or it gets stuck in a cycle and repeats. It makes so much noise you can hear it through the whole house. It is less than three years old and now it is leaking water. I had a base model Sears Kenmore that I had for over 12 years and it died from old age. This Whirlpool is pure crap, do not buy.

My old 25 yr old Whirlpool died and was shopping for a new one. I saw the Cabrio and was really impressed by the features and large capacity interior. I can say that I thought my clothes were getting clean until I looked closely. I have never been so disappointed with this washer. I wish I had my old one back! Clothes arent clean, they are so twisted when I take them out and theres a horrible smell, like oil burning when it runs. The machine would fill up and when it would start to wash, it wouldnt, it would stop. And a loud humming noise was coming from the back.I shut it off and turned it back on and it wouldnt clear. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to clear it and start over. The bearings are gone now and I was going to have a repairman come and look at it, but now I wont bother! After reading everyones comments this Cabrio is a piece of junk and Im sorry I ever bought it! So now Ill be shopping for a new one tomorrow with an agitator!!! Im not impressed with the HE appliances!!! Ive owned this POS for not quite 6 yrs. Expensive to purchase and I will not recommend Whirlpool to anyone! Its sad that companies today make cheap products!! Built to last... ha!! Well never see those again!!

My wife and I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio Washer / Dryer set approximately three years ago and have had nothing but problem after problem with these units. Weve had multiple service calls, multiple parts replaced, and after dumping hundreds of dollars into repairs and service calls (even called Whirlpool and asked for some help with parts cost but was given the cold shoulder and was told, We cant help you), we are dumping these machines where they belong - scrap heap. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and will tell anyone who will listen what garbage Whirlpool manufacturers are and absolutely pathetic excuse for customer service and the poorest of quality product. Whirlpool will never be in my familys home again and will never see another cent of my monies.

Purchased Whirlpool front load washer 2010. Had it repaired 2013. Paid $599 for washer & $648 for the repair. Mailed copy of sales and repair to Whirlpool customer service. Received call from customer service and was told to have a nice day.

The cabrio washer that we purchased in 2010 did a good job of cleaning the clothes but the case started rusting within 6 months. After service calls and e-mails and phone calls, there have been no helpful suggestions beyond buy a complete new case. I hesitate to do that because I am convinced there is a design flaw in the area where the soap dispenser is located which allows the soap to flow between the case and the drum and it eats away theinside of the case through the inadequate paint covering on the outside of the case. It is a mess. Now the instruction panel is bubbling and lifting. I carefully care for my equipment and have kept two washers over 15 years and they still were in good shape with cases still looking new. This is not something I am doing wrong. It is a piece of junk with a terrible paint job and it cost more than any washer I have ever had. I wish I had some recourse. I am on a fixed income and had hoped this would be the last washer I would have to buy. I have photos.

I purchased my Whirlpool washer on June 28, 2011. Within 4 months, I had to call for a repair. It is now going to be a year and I am on my seventh repair call. The repairs have been everything from loose pulleys, new belts, and new valves. When I called to complain, they said there is nothing they could do and I should take out the extended warranty. I have had washing machines last up to 15 years. Needless to say, they werent Whirlpools. I really would like to have it replaced. I dont think its fair to me that I should have to wait for a repairman to come out and tell me he doesnt have the part and has to come back. I did take out the extended warranty, which cost approximately $150.00 and that should not have to be.

I will never buy another Whirlpool again or recommend them to anyone, and discourage anyone from buying one. I bought a Cabrio washing machine just over 2 years ago and yesterday I received an F51 error code. The manual says that this code requires a technician to come a check for repairs. Well, before I do anything I google the problem, and lo and behold there are thousands of complaints about this issue with the Cabrio models. Some saying that what needed to be replaced were a control board ($280) and a rotor (unknown amount), not including the price of labor. Some said that Whirlpool knows about this problem and they covered the parts and repair. This didnt get my hopes up, but I called customer service and of course they said that there were no reported issues with the model and that what I found on the internet was probably an older model. Of course! The lady on the phone told me that they would not cover the costs and it would be anywhere from $300 to $500 depending on the route I wanted to take. That is a 1/3 to 1/2 the price I paid for the machine. This is ridiculous! I am tempted to just get rid of the washer and go with a better company that actually cares about their customers. This error code was definitely something they know is a big deal if there was nothing I could do about it other than call a technician. I paid almost $1000 for a machine that has barely lasted 2 years before I have to pay money to have it fixed. Not a company I would ever purchase anything from again!

My comments are similar to all the other comments on here regarding the Whirlpool Cabrio washer: I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 5 years ago and have been sorry every wash day since. I have to wash my clothes twice because the machine doesnt fill the tub with enough water to get the clothes clean. I have tried using the bulky setting for all loads to try to get the water level high enough to at least cover the clothes. This is a terrible design and the worst piece of junk. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again...

We bought a Whirlpool washer in 2010. It started making a loud noise on the rinse cycle in 2012. We called Whirlpool. They sent out a repairman from A and E Repair. Was told tub bearing shot, repair over $700.00. Contacted Whirlpool, was told machine out of warranty. After talking to them, they agreed to send parts if we paid labor. Machine lasted less than a year making the same sound again. A and E sent out same thing, bearing gone. Repair cost $997.17, charged us $136.74 service call after 2 minutes to shake the drum and saying same problem. Was told by Whirlpool, no warranty, tough luck.

It’s the same thing as all other reviews. The Duet washer’s eating my clothes and shaking violently, even with small loads. Forget a service call from Whirlpool - they say nothing’s wrong and I have to pay for the call. The service guy talked to me like I have never done laundry before. This is my third Whirlpool and my last. The first two were great, but the new Duet is a nightmare. Buy Samsung or LG because the Sears brands are made by Whirlpool and they are just as bad from all reviews I have read.

In 2005, I purchased a Whirlpool front-loading automatic washer for $700 plus. The machine had to have repairs on it several times at my expense. Then in 2010, I had to replace it and spent another $700 plus on the same type of washing machine. Whirlpool would only discount $100 of the cost. The second machine three years later is now also needing repairs. I spent a total of over $1,400 in 7 years on two washing machines not including repairs and parts. It also took forever to find the parts, so I went without use of a washer for one month. I called customer service and said they couldnt do anything for me the second time around with them. I will never buy another Whirlpool ever! You would think a company would care about their customers but they dont. They make their stuff cheap and charge an outrageous price.

Had washers model # WTW8500DCO repaired after being install for 14 days. Have had washers repaired every 90 plus days because of constant electrical and mechanical failures. Would not ever buying another whirlpool appliance to my worst enemy. Customer service is a total failure. If you ask a question after talking with you for 5-8 minutes and they dont have an answer they start saying HELLO, HELLO? I have to hang up. I cant hear you. Just a really sad business. Stay away!

I purchased a Whirlpool washer in 2005. After the extended warranty expired, our washer broke. The Whirlpool manufacturer did not have parts in stock. It’s on backorder, so what does that tell you? So we have had to wait for over a month for the repair shop to receive parts from Whirlpool’s manufacturer. Service is very slow and the quality of product is very poor. After five weeks and no repair parts, we are going to have to purchase a new washer since we do not have our washing machine repaired yet. I promise to never purchase a Whirlpool product again.

Needed a washer right away and have had Whirlpool before. Simple & easy to use. Not confusing to the average person or teenager for that matter. Reliability from Whirlpool is excellent. I have had many products from them and have enjoyed them all. They have been quite reliable over the last 9 years. They are out of date but they work. Not a lot of bells and whistles but still nice. They are both full size and have enough options for me. I am still happy with the pair and would purchase again if needed in the future. Price was good at the time as I cannot see spending $1K on them. Not always the more expensive is a good idea either.

Whirlpool has a terrible customer service! I have an almost new washer broken and I had it repaired. The company is having the same issues in another model and yet, they would not offer to even refund the repair.

I purchased a Cabrio top-loading high efficiency low water washer thinking I was doing something for the environment by saving on water and electricity. After about a month, I noticed that my clothes especially those with stretchable fabric were getting larger. My husband kept telling me I was imagining it. Then the clothes would get all tangled especially the pants with ties on the waistband. At the end of the cycle, the clothes are stuck on the sides of the washer and I have to pull them apart. Even after drying, I have to iron everything even my pillowcases which look like they have shrunk they are so wrinkled. I recently bought some 100% cotton outfits and they are even more wrinkled and are starting to lose their shape. I am now noticing that the stains on the clothing are not coming out even when I use a spot remover and put them through a second time.Now I started to notice an odor coming from the machine and my towels and wash clothes have a sour smell. I paid $600 for this machine and after reading the reviews, I just want to replace it. I am now waiting for it to break down. My husband kept insisting I must be doing something wrong. When it goes into the spin cycle, it bounces all around and I have to push it back in place when it is done. I do not think the clothes are getting rinsed enough so now I put them through a second rinse and always put it on low spin. It doesnt see to matter, it sounds like a rocket ready to take off. Is it even worth it to go back to Lowes where I buy all my appliances?

I purchased an HIE washer one year ago this month. I have never been happy with the cleanliness of the clothes when they came out of the wash. The only way to get them moderately clean is to wash a few items at a time and even then the whites, especially socks, seem dingy. I noticed the new Whirlpool washers now have an extra setting to add more water to the machine, so the executives have realized there is a problem with the original model.I think Whirlpool should give all customers who previously purchased the models without this feature a trade-in option to get the newer model that fills with more water or for another model with the full spindle that has worked well for so many years. I have been very unhappy with the performance of this washer and would only hope the executives would do something to resolve this problem and satisfy previous customers.

Cabrio washer broken lid, asked WP to fix warranty. They offered $250 off $500 Amana washer. Said just send me the new lid that would cost me $210. They said no. Asked if they would send me metal lid with hinges less than $100 they said no. Told them I was not going to spend more money with WP, my turn to say no. If you are wise dont buy WP products...

Oh what a tangled mess you weave! Inappropriate water usage and bad agitator. The brain is not flexible. Most of all it locks me into a contract of this is it, do or die, you have no other options but to start again. It puts my clothes in abused mode! I say no more, taxes will bring me to buy your competitor. It is very large and way too heavy to move anywhere. No!!! I will never buy another. To the point with all required letters involved, No I will not recommend this (Cabrio washing machine) to anyone, or give it to a friend!

Whirlpool washing machine has always been reliable for me. I have owned 2 and they lasted me many many years. Its easy to use, and cleans clothes perfectly. My family is also a fan of Whirlpool appliances.

Bought this Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine 4 years ago not knowing it was a low level water washing machine. A man would have had to design this piece of crap. Not only does it not clean the clothes because the agitation on it is as slow as sloth. On top of that the clothes tie themselves in a knot when finished. If you don’t want the frustration of clothes washing, I would highly recommend you not buy this type, if you enjoy cussing then this machine is for you.

Whirlpool ADP100 wh. A few programs, washes well, dries ok, not great but ok. Standard free standing size, 60 x 85 x 59 cm. The washer itself is fine, but oh the cheap moulded plastic parts, utensil basket, water arms etc, so poorly made. Its amazing that a company would use such poor quality and design to save what can be a few cents on the overall product, personally I was disgusted at the cheap crappy plastic bits.

Well, I read most of the complaints with the failures in the machine. I guess most of them didnt last long enough to rate their performance so here we go. I bought a Cabrio top loader, high-E washer a couple of years ago. This one had a different kind of agitator - it was just a couple of inches or so off the bottom. I specifically bought this to wash comforters and it seemed like it was good for that (rousing agreement from the salesperson). So after a couple of years of working with it, here are my observations:Pros: There are absolutely none!Cons: Okay, other than not having control over the settings (cannot override any of the preprogrammed wash settings), it simply doesnt get loads clean (yes, I use expensive HE detergent). Except for the bulky setting, there is never enough water to wash and rinse the loads properly. Next, it makes a mess of the clothes. At the end of the cycle, and this is true no matter what I wash or how large or small the load is or which cycle I pick - even light and slow spin, it just makes a tangled mess of the load. Stuff gets stuck inside of other stuff, wrapped around other stuff or are balled up. Never have I seen this type of issue. I constantly get the unbalanced load notice and have to manually redistribute the clothes most of the time.To address the too little water level, there are two options. I have discovered that the bulky setting has the highest water level, so I use that most of the time. From time to time (when I need different water temps or just want more water), I have developed a work-around by putting a Y adapter on the hot water inlet and a short hose. Once the washer starts the wash cycle, I stop it and add a bit of hot water to bring the level up enough to do a decent wash job - same for the rinse cycle. So much for Whirlpools water efficiency.Next, the hot isnt hot. Its barely lukewarm. So I turn the cold down to a trickle and I get a bit hotter water. It takes forever to rinse though. Its a good thing Im semi-retired. Next is the inflexible cycle/water selector. I have never had a washer I couldnt override to tell it what to do in unusual circumstances. Boy, what rocket scientist at Whirlpool dreamed that up!But above all, this just doesnt get loads clean. I have experimented with all the variables, load size, cycle selection, detergents, etc. Most of the time, I have to do two cycles with my loads and these are not unusual or extremely dirty loads. They are just normal, everyday laundry for an adult couple. Really, Whirlpool! Who was the conceptual designer on this? Thank goodness they werent working on the space shuttle or some disease research.Bottom line, I am so soured on the design and performance of this product that I will never buy another Whirlpool product, either brand name or generic (Sears). I just cant understand how a company would let something like this out the door.

I was excited to have an energy efficient washing machine and chose the Whirlpool Cabrio top loader. I truly wish I had read reviews rather than trust the salespersons advice. It does not clean clothes properly at all. They come out smelling dirty and are covered in white goo, even when the machine has just been cleaned. Stains never come out despite all of my efforts. Now I have water leaking out of the bottom as it fills. Not impressed at all. What a giant waste of money.

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8500DW0. Like: Top loading, Handsome appearance, clear glass lid, easy access soap dispenser plus separate Oxi dispenser. Dislike: Does not have a soak cycle. We didnt realize until after we replaced our old Sears Calypso what a really poor job it was doing. It damaged the clothes and never really got them clean. Also, the small capacity made it nearly impossible to wash large items such as bedspreads or comforters. The Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8500 has be a delight.

Whirlpool Duet 3.9 cu ft High-Efficiency WFW9451XW00 - Hear my first experience with Whirlpool. I purchased a washer machine 30 April 2014. Guess what - machine stop working suddenly on July 30th, just about three months later. I had a lot of guest from overseas. While they visit me, I did not have my washer machine. How embarrassing. It was big mistake to buy Whirlpool. It is all made plastic inside and they uses cheap Chinese material. Anyway, technician came house to check what the problem was... all control system was burned. He ordered almost 10 parts from Whirlpool on 04 August. Whirlpool scheduled delivery for 20 of August. I called them for them to send the parts faster so my guests could wash their clothes. They send them little faster for August 16. After a day, technician was in the house again. I waited about 3 hours for him to fix my machine. He was really nice guy. He put install all new parts. Just in front of me, new parts broke after 5 minute. Whirlpool still did not contact me about their decision. Today is August 26th... I called them 5 time already - Nobody give me useful info. NO Whirlpool, guys - bad service.

Bought this machine in Feb 2007 as a pair Whirlpool Cabrio. I loved it for almost two years. The control board went out, Whirlpool replaced it. A couple of weeks later, the F-1 codes started then the F-51 codes. On July of 10, it was code after code. It sounded like a jet taking off and constant unbalanced load. I called repairman and was told to go buy new machine as repairs would start at $500 and since I live in a rural area, no one wanted to waste their time. Two repair techs told me point blank they wouldnt even touch it. We paid $1000 for this machine and we live pay check to pay check. I spent four months trying to get Whirlpool to do something. I kept getting told I should have bought extended warranty. Machine has been sitting under stairs for over year waiting to see if class action or recall can be done. Also when control board was replaced, the repair man told me it was rusting away from the inside out. My husband had to find us a used washer and this thing has done nothing but cost us money. So much for efficiency. Everyone posting here also needs to go to Whirlpools Facebook page and post there.

The washer constantly binds clothes around agitator. Truly a design flaw and it does not get clothes clean. So with a washer like this, I am forced to go to laundromat. Wished I would have paid 230.00 or so to have transmission fixed on old Kenmore. Truly dislike this substandard appliance.

We purchased our new Whirlpool Cabrio washer on November 1, 2013. From the start this machines performance has been a disappointment. We bought the machine at The Brick (I should have known better) where we had made several purchases over the years ( I guess Im a slow learner). Right off the hop, my wife and I noticed that the clothes were not coming out clean. Even though the machine is Eco and therefore advertises that it uses less water, there should be enough water that the clothes at least get evenly wet. That may be a problem with the agitator not seeming to have the guts required to pull the clothing down to the bottom of the drum. We went back to The Brick and told them that we were not happy with the machine they had sold us and quite predictably they told us that we should call Whirlpool (This was less than a week after we had it delivered. Did I mention that I may be a slow learner?). We called Whirlpool and they told us they would have a tech out to take a look at it on November 11th. Wow, I thought. Hows that for service. A repair guy coming out on a statutory holiday. Of course it didnt happen. When we called them back to ask if their repair guy had made it home okay, they claimed that we werent there when the repairman tried to call to confirm his arrival time at our home. We hadnt left the nest the entire day. They then told us to go back to The Brick. We went back once again and told them, yet again, that we were not satisfied. This time they agreed to send their own man over to take a look. He came over yesterday and watched the machine go through an entire wash cycle and then said that there really wasnt anything he could do, as even though it may do a crappy job of washing the clothes, it at least appeared that mechanically speaking there didnt seem to be anything wrong with it. We called Whirlpool back today and they said that there isnt anything wrong with it mechanically so from their end, at least, the story is over. What kind of customer service is that????? Maybe Whirlpool and The Brick deserve each other, but I think we should get better treatment than that

Whirlpool washer Model WGD4815EW1. Bought this washer just about 4 months ago and right away I hated it but was told by people that all the machines had gone to the lid lock and that the government had mandated the energy saving devices on the machines so the machine will only put just a little water in the machine. I have been VERY VERY unhappy with this machine. My husband figured out a way to bypass the lid lock mechanism. Then after washing clothes many times I found out in order to get my clothes clean I had to just set the dial to Bulky every time OR I had to wash the clothes 2 times to get clean if I didnt. Once we bypassed the lid lock and then I figured out where to put the knob so the clothes would come clean I was fine until last week the machine just would NOT wash or do anything... it filled with water and just sat there until my husband got the water out. I located a Speed Queen from an appliance store and I am much happier. It does not have the CRAZY lid lock on it. I realize that some children are apt to mess with the washers. But I dont have children anymore and when I did I had a laundry room with a lock up high on the door so they could not play in the laundry room. I dont understand why this so called mandate could not have been done in a way as to allow those with kids to have the option on the machine with a built in code device to set the machine so the lid will lock and those of us without children in the house to opt out of the code to set the lid lock. NO REASON why we cant have a CHOICE. As far as I see it is a way for the government to try control more where they need to keep out. The cars have been designed with safety locks for children to keep them safe, but it is up to you to choose to use them. Same principle! Now for the mechanism to make it so the machine will only put so much water in the machine to wash. Youre NOT SAVING any ENERGY or WATER if you have to wash the loads twice!! This whole mandated business with the newer washer machines is a huge JOKE on everyone. I will be searching out used machines and having them rebuilt because I dont EVER plan on buying another one of these newer machines. If enough people stop buying them the manufacturing companies can raise some cane with the government to get the mandate lifted. NO I will not buy another Whirlpool washer. I encourage some of you out there who LOVE a challenge to figure a way to change the stupid motherboards on the newer machines and create a great business for yourself because if someone else can create it you can recreate it.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio about five years ago. Last year, the motherboard had to be replaced. This year, it started load balance issues on the spin cycle; in other words, it wont spin without sounding like its going to tear itself apart. It cost $100 to have someone look at it, and was going to cost almost $400 to repair, and whats next? I spent a lot of money for this machine, and Whirlpools answer was to offer me a discount to purchase a new Whirlpool. Do I have Stupid tattooed on my forehead? I will never buy a Whirlpool again!!!

Im happy with my 9 year old purchase. They are front loaders and they sit too low for my comfort. The available pedestals cost hundreds of dollars for a pair...that I do not want to spend. I have not had any repairs needed.

We bought a Cabrio washer four years ago for over 1,000 dollars. It lasted two years. The cost to repair was too high. We bought a low-end simple machine two years ago from Whirlpool. Now we are told it needs a new control panel, which again is going to make it not worth fixing. Two machines in four years. I called their customer service and there was nothing they could for me. The person they recommended to fix it told me it wasnt worth fixing and didnt even come out. I am done with Whirlpool.

Whirlpool top loading piece of junk! I would give it a zero star review if I could! Do not buy this machine!!! I agree with many other reviews. It doesn’t get the clothes cleaned and now a completely doesn’t work. We reset it, we’ve had the service guy come in and replace a bunch of parts on it. It’s past its one year warranty and doesn’t work anymore. Piece of junk! Junk, junk, junk!!! Waste of money. Do you not buy the Whirlpool tub loading washing machine!

Whirlpool Cabrio - We bought this washer in June 2013. The gearbox just went out (17 Nov 2015). Terrible product. We had to buy a new washer; and it wasnt a Whirlpool.

I have a new Duet Washer and it is a nightmare. It keeps throwing the same F8 E1 code. The repair people have replaced five parts and been out four times. I feel like I have been scammed out of $900. I will never purchase a Whirlpool again ever!

We replaced older GE with the giant front load model that can do king size sheets and comforters. It has worked like a champ. It was a bit more but worth it for us. In a year and a half no issues no problems and I like the control lock feature so I dont keep hitting it off when I go thru the laundry room to the garage.

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum WTW8500BWO - It doesnt wash anything very well. I hate it. Dont want it. Wish I didnt buy it. I do all kinds and sizes of loads. My clothes come out dirty - I have to wash my clothes 2 or 3 times.

We bought our Whirlpool washer (WTW5700XWO) in April 2011. This machine has so many issues. Lets start with it not getting our clothes clean. Some clothes never even get wet. Then on the other hand, there are times when the clothes come out soaking wet, like it never went through the spin cycle. (We know it did because its super loud!) Recently, it started shutting off during the wash cycle. Sometimes, it doesnt release the soap or the fabric softener. I am so frustrated with this machine. There should be a recall. We paid $700 and now well need to go and shell out more of our hard earned money to buy something that actually works. I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance.

After having an expensive front loader (ugh) we purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio top loader (wow)! Best washer ever owned, wouldn’t trade it for any on the market! It has been as great and problem free as the front loader was terrible with cleaning and smell.

First off, took five weeks to get the damned thing delivered after buying it at Lowes Home Improvement. Have problems with the drain overflowing when the washer tries to empty. Major plumbing work to rectify that. My complaint with Whirlpool is the washer doesnt work. It will partially fill and then stops. The wash light then lights up and nothing happens. I let it sit for three hours and the clothes never washed. It took an act of God to get the washer to empty. It never did spin the clothes. The washer refuses to work through the cycles. $1500 wasted on this POS! Trying to get an appointment scheduled is equally frustrating on Whirlpools website. Never again will I buy Whirlpool!

We bought the Whirlpool Duet set for $1,000 18 months ago. About four months ago, it started shredding our clothes. I would get them out with holes in them, but there was nothing sharp in the washer. Then the grey outside seal started deteriorating and getting tiny balls of rubber all over my clothes, ruining several white shirts. It always smells like mold. I just went to get my clothes out of it to find out it leaked water all over with that disintegrated rubber from the seal. The seal had completely ripped from the top to the bottom drain for no apparent reason. Now we are replacing the below. We JUST paid it off this month. It is crazy, it is already breaking!

As a consumer, Im very disappointed in this Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer. It does NOT clean your clothes. Many times Im washing my clothes twice, only loading a 1/3 of a load of laundry in it because of this problem. No matter what you do, it just doesnt clean your clothes. Has anyone considered putting a law-suit against the company. They will NOT stand behind this issue, NOR replace your washer with something that works. Maybe that is what it will take. DO NOT ever ever ever ever ever ever buy this piece of crap washing machine. You will waste your money, your time, your extra detergent it takes to wash your clothes AND the cost of the machine too! The MILDEW SMELL is horrible and no matter what you do you CANT GET IT OUT! Ive tried it all. Im just angry because I had to save money to purchase this set and it is a piece of crap! The customer service is just a runaround, they wont help you! They will just give excuse after excuse. They need to replace EVERY ONE of our washers with something that works!!! For the cost of this machine alone, they should do something to resolve this issue!

We purchased our Duet in July 2010. It worked great until two weeks ago when the washer sounded like a 40-year-old washer. The bearing sounds like an extremely high-pitched “wrr”. We can hear it in the back of the house. I looked online to get parts and noticed that you cannot replace the bearing. You must replace the entire rear drum ($358.00). This does not include the labor. I talked with a technician, and they said the whole drum must be removed, not a one-man job, and to take the whole thing apart. Now, theres no price for installation. Lets go low ($200.00). Probably more. I cannot get a price nailed down without a visit. Now add those together ($558.00), I could put almost $600.00 into a washer that this could happen to in another 2 years. Wow.We had a washer that lasted us 15 years without any parts. Is there anything that you can do to help me? This is totally outrageous. Please help. Thank you. This was part of my chat to Whirlpool. Whirlpools response was I understand your problem but cannot help you. It is out of warranty. No help, no discount, nothing. I will and have all my friends never to purchase Whirlpool. The washer began to start making noises as if coins were in it or plastic breaking every time I wash. Also, it does not wring clothes out good and clean well. I have Whirlpool Cabrio.

Whirlpool Cabrio HE washer - Purchased my set in 2007. Has not worked properly most of the time we have owned. Lid locks our clothes in when the machine malfunctions and we have to barter with the machine for hours of Google suggestions to get the clothes back out. Still dirty. Or still soaking wet, not spun. Ive never seen so many error codes from one machine. I would never purchase this brand again. The only pro is the load size, which trust me - we have spent more time, water, energy & $$$ with the washer not properly working than the large capacity has saved us.

I bought it 1 week 1/2 ago and cannot wash correctly the clothes in it, have to rewash 2 or 3 times and bedding? Forget it. Still is dirty. Water does not go over the clothes, it suck for the price I paid.

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washing machine: You wont believe this until you call a parts replacement place for tiny part. The plastic (or vinyl) lid hinge bearings are located at hinge corners of lid. Hinge pin passes through them, one on each side. Half the size of a penny, UNCONSCIONABLE greed at the price of $32-$33 dollars EACH when ordered from a parts place. IMHO, design by INTENTIONAL failure to fail after three or four years. As a result, the lid will not stay up on its own. Then you find out the horrible news which is an insult to intelligence. Id have expected to pay maybe two or three dollars each, but NEVER the price they are demanding. Theyve got you and there is NOTHING you can do about it. At that rate, parts would run tens of thousands of dollars to replace the entire machine, part by part. These greedy clowns make car dealers look like reasonable people! The LAST Whirlpool machine of ANY kind we will EVER own!

My 5-year-old Cabrio started coming up with error codes, and not draining and spinning the clothes. I called a week ago, they offered me 2 options, one being put $339 on a credit card and that would cover all parts, labor, and a 1 year extended warranty. They charged the credit card immediately for the biggest piece of crap washing machine. Someone came out 2 days later and told me he has worked on a lot of Cabrios but never one in quite that condition. I was led to believe that after charging the credit card, boxes would be arriving with parts to fix it. I called 2 days later to find out the status of when it would be repaired and they told me they already put a credit thru on the credit card because to fix it would be equal to the price of 2 brand new washing machines, and they will do nothing to honor that agreement. So I now have a piece of ** in my laundry room and takes me two days to do a load of laundry. DO NOT BUY THE CABRIO! In fact Im not going with a Whirlpool ever again!

Whirlpool has been a well known brand for many years producing well made appliances. With strong customer support and appreciation. I myself have owned many appliances made by Whirlpool from Fridges to Washers and Dryers with no problems.

We purchased a new Cabrio top loading washer in June of 2011 to replace a Maytag Neptune (thinking at the time that wed gone as low as possible). We didnt abuse the machine. In fact, because it had a tempered glass lid (in a plastic frame), we were careful with the lid on the machine. It broke during a wash cycle. Because its heavy, the lid has spring supports on both sides; these are stronger than the plastic frame and over time the frame will break, rendering the machine inoperable. The discounted price for a new lid is over $200, and Maytag (I mean Whirlpool) tells us that it lasted through the 365 day warranty, so the bill is on us. It may be green when it works, but taking 18 month appliances to the landfill is not very green. And others on the web report say that the lid only lasts a year or so. The ratings scale needs to have negative values. Id give this appliance a -5.

We have just built a new home and have spent a ton of money on appliances. I so wish I had looked up the reviews on this Whirlpool Cabrio Washer before we bought it. It makes a very loud annoying sound through at least a third of the cycle (which I was just told by Whirlpool is the normal agitating sound). We have also had to have service out here twice in the first few months because some of the clothes come out dirty in areas that were folded over because of lack of water even on the high water setting. It also, ripped my favorite white blouse right in half. Trust me DONT buy it, you will be sorry.

I have the original (gak!) Whirlpool Calypso Washer and Senseon Dryer pair. They have given great service, and I find them easy to use. I wanted a top-loader but I didnt want an agitator. These fit the bill. How long have I had them? Gosh, must be 12+ years. A recent service call indicated that other folks havent had the same luck - apparently the knee-action is troublesome - and I found the Whirlpool-trained service techs werent very knowledgeable and was able to fix the thing myself with parts off eBay! All in all, I would definitely look at Whirlpool for my next pair.

Purchased Whirlpool Duet wfw9550ww00 in 2012 from PC Rich, who purchased machines in 5/11. Product stopped being made 5 yrs prior. Of course I did not know until my washer went and had service come to my house. He explained prior information, looked at my machine for 2 seconds and said someone put in a heavy load that machine was not able to handle and 2 belts broke and guts of machine are destroyed. Its a $799 fix, not including labor, youre better off buying a new machine. How does he know thats the reason for breaking??? The machine is 2 years old, not a scratch on it!!! Unbelievable!!!! Then states thats $114 for the service call. $114 for 2 seconds!!! Im absolutely furious!!! Whirlpool has a new program (if it helps anyone), if your machine is fairly new they will give you a invoice for 1/2 off a new Whirlpool... Take it from there. There should be a tremendous action lawsuit, look at all these complaints...

We were a Whirlpool family, and have been using a Whirlpool front loader – Duet Steam Model # WFW9500TW - for the past nine years without any issues until recently when it started to vibrate. Technician sent by Whirlpool blamed it on failing bearing and that it was cheaper to replace than to repair (In hindsight, I wish we had tried repairing). Naturally, we decided to replace with a new front loader from Whirlpool - Model # WFW6620HW. Our previous version had a max spin speed of 1000 RPM and a capacity of 3.5 cu. ft. This new one has a top spin speed of 1160 RPM and a capacity of 4.5 cu. ft. The main problem with our old one was vibration, and this was being caused by the washer going into high spin while the clothes were not evenly distributed throughout the drum. In one spin, the clothes would spin perfectly without any vibration, but in another spin of the same cycle, the washer would not allocate that same clothes properly throughout the drum, which leads the drum to cause vibration from unbalanced high spin. Vibration is a problem, because like most Americans, we live in a wood frame house, and have a basement underneath with the washer located on the main floor. Vibration from unbalanced high RPM spin gets sent down to other areas of the house, causing damage, drywall cracks, separation in trims, etc. And these are all only the damages one can see with their eyes.One point about vibration and some myth busting. Provided that all your washer legs are meeting the floor and not on a saggy floor, your washer should not vibrate more than it does during an empty spin. If it does, then it is due to faulty, poor design/engineering. What happens is when the steel drum becomes unbalanced with laundry in high spin, it starts to shake as more of the weight is on one side, which one can notice looking inside the washer window. There are concrete weights fastened to the top and bottom of drum to keep the drum in place and to reduce its shaking tendencies. However, this weight also causes the washer cabinet to wobble if the drum itself is shaking. This wobble in turn causes the washer legs, which may be firmly grasping the floor, to very slightly come off the floor, which one can feel if touching both the washer feet and floor with their finger at the high spin of an unbalanced spin. And that motion of legs coming off the floor and hitting back at high RPM is what causes vibration to be felt on the floor and to be seen on the cabinet. Of course, this effect is amplified with washers that decide to go into an unbalanced spin with an even higher max spin. When our old washer perfectly balanced the clothes, it behaved like it was running high spin while the drum was empty. This is how all washers should behave, especially in America where the vast majority of homes are wood frame based. However, that was not what we experienced with this new Whirlpool. If a washer is not capable of balancing out the clothes, extra function or feature should be deployed in containing the drum shake to within the drum, and not allow it to escape.First, our old front load Duet Steam Whirlpool was Made in Germany. This new one is ‘assembled’ in America. The door window of the new one is plastic and feels cheap and flimsy, but I expect all the darker color door windows of newer front loaders to be plastic. Consider it cost cutting. We did not look for additional anti-vibration technology because our old Duet didn’t have anti-vibration features aside from its two springs and four suspensions. We decided not to use Load & Go because I have personally seen liquid HE detergents gum up over time, so I didn’t want to risk it gumming up inside the washer.After the installers left, I spend an hour cleaning the outside of the washer to perfection. Sadly, time wasted. Once I was done, I first did a wash without clothes, and then with clothes in Normal, fast spin cycle with drum about 2/3rds full. Just pants and t-shirts. There is a recirculating pump at the top of the drum to distribute the water, and to also distribute soap mixed water. But I am not sure if this is without problems. These pumps can collect soap residue with time, and you will eventually end up rinsing the laundry with soap mixed water even in rinse cycle.In getting to the first spin in wash cycle, I was flabbergasted to see how, just how rudimentary, I want to reiterate the word rudimentary, the load detection was before entering high spin. Our nine-year-old washer had a more comprehensive one. The new washer would spin the clothes at very, very low spin and simply see if the drum is most evenly spinning. That’s all. Compared it to our old washer which would also shake the drum to see if there was movement from side to side, because clothes can change their position when entering high spin. This rudimentary load detection causes the new washer to create an even worse uneven load distribution around the drum before spin, even though it may seem even at very low RPM. So, why is the new washer’s load detection so basic? I believe it is due to ball bearings.Front load washer models from other companies employ ball bearings to reduce vibrations from uneven loads. Whirlpool does not employ such feature, at least, they do not advertise them. However, to my surprise, I hear metal balls hitting each other every time the drum direction changes during the wash cycle. I inquired Whirlpool about this and I received contradictory responses. My theory is that the basic load detection before spin speed is used because Whirlpool assumes any changes to load distribution will be taken care of or reduced by the ball bearings of the washer. But this ultimately allows the washer to go into more uneven spins. The bearings may also be used to increase the tolerance of what is considered an ‘unbalanced load’ in order to get the washer to go into spin cycle faster, decreasing the time involved of the washer to go into spin cycle. Sadly, to my dismay, the new washer ended up causing a worse vibration than our old one with failing bearing.I called up the retailer the same day of delivery and complained of vibration. He first sent an installer to see if it was installed properly, and upon showing the installer of the vibration issues, the retailer sent me a new washer couple of days later thinking the first one was a lemon, and even though it has less noisy draining noise, it too exhibited the same issues with it going into significantly uneven spin. In the end, we decided to return the Whirlpool washer all together, at a loss of $200 because the retailer did not hold up to their spoken return policy.We have done many loads in this washer to see if our loading is an issue, loads of varying sizes, loads of varying types, loads of weights, and we maybe only had an evenly distributed load around the drum about once or twice. Once it was a King comforter. But, like our old washer, this too ended up not distributing properly around the drum in the final spin cycle and started vibrating, even though it was vibration-free in the previous high spin cycle. This proves that the problem exists directly within the washer, not the floor, leveling, load, etc.Some other problems with the washer: - The washer door, Load & Go dispenser at bottom, and single load dispenser at top are all plastic parts which all vibrate significantly during fast spin cycle. Especially the Load & Go dispenser which keeps hitting the cabinet to make banging noise. - Drain sounds are much, much louder than our previous Duet. It was even louder in the first one we received. Combine this to uneven spins and this washer can perhaps compete with an engine in terms of the sound it generates. - Single use dispenser at top left will hit the washer door if washer door is opened when the dispenser is also in open position. - Buttons are sometimes unresponsive, to which I have to power off and try again. But this has only happened a couple of times.- There is a small ¼ in. opening where the steel drum meets the rubber gasket, opening in which items like coins, etc., may fall through and are irretrievable. Don’t think small socks would be affected.To potential buyers, I suggest you proceed with caution when it comes to this washer. Understand the retailer’s appliance return policy and make sure it is shown in paper. It can save you a lot of headache. Get the extended warranty of three years because manufacturers only give you one-year warranty for a reason. I would also suggest that you avoid this washer at all costs if you have any floor level below where this washer is to be installed, especially if the level below is a basement. Your house is more important and more valuable than a $1000 washer.In the end, I am very disappointed in Whirlpool, an American company. Perhaps Whirlpool focuses their attention on top loaders, not front loaders. But Whirlpool had nine years to improve their washers, and it is sad that we may now have to go outside of America for a quality product to be used in American homes. P.S. My NEW Machine Top loader HUGE drum. Have problems with clothes not looking like they’ve even been washed, Spun so hard they are twisted all to heck. And white stuff - my oxy powder maybe? Not dissolved. My old machine was a Kenmore 30 yrs old. Thought I’d be able to trust whirlpool but not sure. Am I missing something in the loading process. Seems to read something bout not Covering the knob on the bottom. Is this true?

Whirlpool Cabrio washer - Absolute piece of garbage! Doesnt clean clothes at all. Too bad there isnt a glass top to this machine where you can witness the inefficient operations as it goes through a cycle. How can a machine be energy efficient when a cycle takes an hour and a half? What a sad situation that this is made in America. I feel like such a sucker when I read all of these posts.

They really dont make them like they use to, do they? This Whirlpool Cabrio aka Caprio has given us problems for the past 3 years, weve owned it for 5 years. It doesnt matter how much, or how little clothing you put in this washer machine. It will start going NUTS, Thudding, Banging against the inside of itself, completely out of whack, and then it will show a UL where the time is shown. Every time we do laundry this happens, and we have to stick our hands in the hot water and reorganize the clothes, and pull more and more clothes out till theres only about 3 items of clothing left! This washer is GARBAGE! I advise people to keep away from it. The washer we had in the past lasted us years upon years. These washers of now in days are Crap Garbage. Keep the fancy tech look, and give me the old fashion Knobs ANY DAY! Whirlpool brand is Not what it once was.

I have been buying refurbished appliances and this one we bought it brand new. Its a great buy and it will last a while. It does a good job washing and the clothes come clean and almost dry to the touch.

I dont know how anybody could write a good review on this machine. It always requires deep water wash and sometimes two cycles to get clothes clean. On regular cycle, it doesnt get water on all clothes. Oh yes, it does save water... Ive pulled things out with dry areas on them.

All of these awful reviews and you continue to sell the Made in China JUNK!!! And shame on the stores that advertise and sell Whirlpool JUNK!! They should put a warning on these machines stating Will not last, gets off balance and does not clean your clothes. Yes we bought the Cabrio like the others, our clothes would not get clean, because like sheets, would end up looking like a doughnut without a hole and all of the dirty water would drain through the middle and make a spot. Then you have to wash them over and over. But that is not the worse part! It only lasted 13 months, YES I said 13 months just past the warranty LOL!!When the man came to make repairs, it was the gear box and was going to cost almost $600. Almost as much as we paid for the machine. He recommended getting a Speed Queen, we did and I LOVE it!! I think it is the BEST MACHINE I have ever had. They are a little hard to find though, but I found where they were sold on the internet and the dealer had to order it. Well worth the time and trouble, (trouble) which I dont expect to have with this machine. Like I said it is a wonderful beast. And I will never buy another product made by Whirlpool. Before my husband retired he made prototypes for autos so he knows about testing and Whirlpool had to know this product had bad flaws before they put it on the market, I call that fraud. Bad taste in my wallet, Michigan.

I cant even tell you how disappointed I am. This washer has destroyed my clothes and towels. Ive tried to reach out to company but they want me to call for service. What would I call for? Washer works, it just makes holes in clothes, in towels. There are so many complaints about this. If anyone know how to begin a process like this, please let me know. Trust me, when I write a review about something, its got to be either really good or really bad. I dont have time to write things like this.

After 2-1/2 years we started having trouble with the spin cycle on our Maytag washer. We live in an area with no repairman. Whirlpool want us to pay just to talk to us. Now the timings off. It will not spin out.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer about 1 1/2 years ago. It has been in the shop 2 times and is doing the same thing again of not completing a wash cycle and draining. I WILL NEVER BUY Whirlpool appliance again. If I could sue I would.

I bought this washing machine in May 5, 2012 and delivered in July from Paddys Market. We do not use the machine that much because me and my wife and two kids living in the house. Yesterday I put my clothes in the machine and left it to wash it. When I went to get my clothes, water was all over the place in the basement and the machine was beeping and reading code LF. I turn off the machine and turned on back. Water started to fill and then suddenly water started to coming from the bottom of the machine. I removed the bottom panel and I could see the water was coming very fast from the bottom of the basket (the drum shape). I called the private company to repair it and waiting to find out.

It is a very reliable and efficient washing machine. I enjoy the energy saving features as well as how clean my laundry is, no matter how soiled they may be. I would definitely recommend a Whirlpool washing machine to a friend.

It will constantly go off balance. I usually have to wash the cloths twice before they come clean and I have to unload washer and re-load it to get it to possibly spin without going off balance again. It will twist the quilts and fold them under themselves and tear them from the pressure. I have called after 6 months of owning this product and explained to the Lowe’s employee and they said it cannot be returned unless it was broken mechanically. This is the worst piece of crap I have ever own. The last Whirlpool product lasted 12 to 20 years. I hated this thing after the first few washings. I generally have to stop the washer and let it soak and then turn it back on if I want the damn thing to get the dirt out. I am using the required detergent as well. I will never own another top load machine like this. I am trying to unload it. Now, I have to buy another washer because I might as well take the clothes out and beat them on a rock at a creek with this thing.

Agreeing with many. How disturbing to buy a Cabrio Whirlpool washing machine about 5 years ago. I might as well go down to the river and wash my clothes. The bearings went out which means I have to be the spin cycle. I am hanging out my clothes on the line - very wet - until my husband buys the part and fixes it himself. I had my maytag for 25 years. An awesome, dependable machine that we laid to rest because of rust. We should have gotten another drum instead of buying this machine. Where are the engineers that are making dependable appliances to last a LONG time? We have not gotten smarter. Or we only care about the all mighty dollar. Make something to last a short time so that you have to buy again. We will do some extensive research the next time we buy a washing machine. Do not buy this machine!

We have had this washer for a year and the longest it has run before breaking down is 3 weeks. Since it takes longer than that to get a repairman out to look at it and another 2 to 4 weeks to get parts, it has run less than half of the time we have owned it. This thing is a hunk of junk. Dont ever consider purchasing one of these lemons.

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio in 3/09 from Lowes for $1000. Like many of you, we thought we were purchasing a quality product that we would use for many years. I never thought my clothes were getting clean, but I thought it was just because I wanted to see them floating in water. Its been 3.2 years and now were plagued with the code F51. Whirlpool is definitely aware of the many problems with these machines. They are also, obviously, unconcerned about the problems we are experiencing. Whirlpool will never stand behind their products if they dont have to. Please go online and write reviews everywhere you can. If we warn people and cause Whirlpool to lose a few dollars, they just might decide to stop selling junk. I plan on starting with all the stores in my area.

Bought washer just under three years ago and the tub bearing started to sound like a jet airplane. Whirlpool seems to have an ongoing issue with the tub seal which goes bad and then allows water to enter the bearing which then fails. Whirlpool will not make it right, I guess I will have to plan on a $350 repair every two to three years if I keep this machine. I am very disappointed with whirlpool for not standing behind what is a known problem. They should replace these seals under warranty so that the Bearing does not fail. Thats my opinion, recall the seals and fix a bad design problem. I would not recommend ANY whirlpool products to anyone at this point. What other problems do they have with their other products?

Whirlpool Platinum Cabrio Washer wtw8240 - Ive owned this washer for two years. Worst two years of my life. Its leaked since day one. They have attempted to repair the leaking on 5 different repair visits (told me the nozzle that puts the water in the tub doesnt stop in time and it overflows on my floor). Finally it seemed to be somewhat fixed and then it started to sound like a freight train coming through my house. They determined the bearings were worn on my tub and had to replace the whole tub unit. Seven visits. I got one month out of it and it’s leaking again. I am now out of the extended warranty I purchased. This is ridiculous. Isnt there a lemon law on appliances? I know if a dealer attempts 4 or more repairs on your car for the same problem unsuccessfully, it qualifies for the lemon law. $800 for a washing machine that dumps water all over my floor and no one can seem to fix it. Well Im done, Whirlpool. Next time I will purchase a plain washer with no bells or whistles and it wont be made by Whirlpool!

The repairman said the shaft, which of course is one piece with the outer drum, is corroded. Really? Did we not expect water in our washing machine? The repair is $500. After reading all the bazillion complaints on this model (on the internet), I have decided not to repair the piece of junk!

I purchased this Cabrio top loader washing machine (model #WTW5640XW3) after I had a Kenmore front loader for 14 years with not one problem. I bought the Cabrio thinking it was good for the price. Well, let me tell you first of all, I dont like the no agitator. The salesman said it was a big seller. I started doing wash and it was smelling like dirty socks when it was done. I own the machine for two months. I cleaned the machine with Afresh thinking the smell on my clean clothes was from being a new machine. Imagine that I have to use extra fabric softener, vinegar. I dont know what to do. This machine stinks. I am going to try to return it. Wish me luck. I dont think it washes right.

Does not clean clothes as well as I was told it would. Very dissatisfied with the price and performance and would not recommend this brand to family members as well as friends. With the way the current economy is, companies like Whirlpool should reduce their prices!

I had bought from S C Shah & Co, Mylapore a Whirlpool ac 1 ton split magicool dlx cop in March 2016 and installed in March 29 2016 by Cool Control System, kodambakkam From the installation period we had a cooling issue and informed Shah & Co, Mylapore where we bought the ac. They came and checked and informed Whirlpool customer care. Within two months i.e. in May 2016 of installation Whirlpool again uploaded/charged the gas (the service engineers told us this is due to hot summer). Though again we had a cooling issue, we were under the impression as this is due to summer as explained by the technician. After that rainy season came and we didnt use the ac.As we are in December when we complained Whirlpool they said this is due to the copper wire gas is leaking and it has to be replaced and informed that though under WARRANTY, the customer has to pay for replacement (we have used only the 3 mtr copper wire which came with the ac only. we have not used any our own copper wire). Whether WHIRLPOOL GIVES SUCH A QUALITY COPPER WIRE which has to be replaced within 9 months. Now they are informing that you are calling us after 6 months of gas charging, so we cannot service. If you could have called within 3 months we could have serviced you. BUT WE ARE UNDER WARRANTY. NOT EVEN AN YEAR FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE.Not responding to calls, disconnecting to the calls even if we call their Delhi number 011-49308500. Though under warranty they are not ready to do service and very rude saying, we cant do anything. So, if we buy WHIRLPOOL ac we have to beg them even for their technicians to visit our place. Or we have to do our own service EVEN UNDER WARRANTY. Their local toll free customer care numbers/service executives always give a recorded message saying they cannot service. SUCH A PATHETIC SERVICE.

Purchased a Cabrio large capacity washer. It NEVER seemed to get the clothes clean enough, and after the sensors and bearings went bad within three years (out of warranty of course) I gladly kicked it to the curb. I bought a Samsung that has been great. Id like to support USA made, but not when it is AWFUL.

Why would I, and others buy Whirlpool made washers, with all of these service problems? Now I understand why they have profit/loss statement problems, and stock prices in the pits.

The salesperson was great but we are not happy with our washer. We already had it swapped out once because of white spots showing up on our clothes. The only thing they could think of was that the bleach I used wasnt rinsing out completely so it showed up on our clothes. Recently, I washed a table runner by itself and it had some red in it. Now there are red spots on a couple of items that I washed after the runner. My husband just now asked why there were red spots on a shirt that he wears all the time. I explained. Also, we have had some white spots on clothes and I could scratch it out without leaving a permanent mark. Were no longer using bleach and we use only liquid detergent and all of it is HE. So I dont understand the machine. I hate it.

Purchased new 2013. The washer doesnt wash well and the spin cycle is malfunctioned - loud and the nut comes off and must be replaced often. The worst system ever purchased. DO NOT buy this washer!!!

It doesn’t drain and ties clothes in knots. Spots appear on clothes after washing completes. Clothes never get clean and always have an odor. This is the worst washing machine on the market.

Bought a Duet Whirlpool washer a couple of years ago. After about 6 months, it started to make a lot of noise like a jet taking off. Where we live there isnt a repairman thats able to come and fix it. So we would be required to have it shipped away to have this done. The washer was purchased at The Brick when we bought our new home. When we told The Brick of our problem we were directed to call Whirlpool directly - this we did and like everyone else we were given the runaround with no compensation to come. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again.

The Cabrio top load washing machine is a piece of junk, an expensive piece of junk. The only way someone could give this machine a good review is if they work for Whirlpool or they think beating clothes up against a rock in the filthy Ganges River makes them clean.We purchased the HE top loader because we were told that all the problems of the front loaders had been worked out in the new top loaders. What a joke. At least the front loader I had, cleaned the clothes. Since we got the glass top model, I made a movie that shows several items of clothes just sitting on top, not getting wet, not getting moved around, not getting rinsed; therefore, not getting clean.After the wash cycle spins down, the clothes are pinned up against the side and the rinse barely touches them before its final spin. We have several items that had stains left from the soap - yes, we used HE soap, Im not stupid. Never again will I waste my money on a Whirlpool product or anything from Best Buy.

This is the worst washer Ive ever owned. It consistently gets off balance, doesnt clean the clothes, and is a perfect example of poor design. I have owned the washer for approximately 9 months, and hate it. Im getting rid of it as soon as possible.

Whirlpool Washer Front Loader - Ripped off! It cost $250.00 to repair; the serviceman was at my home all of 15 minutes. The below or otherwise known as the rubber seal was ripped up and caused my washer to leak water all over the floor. I washed a load of laundry, 1 item being my 2-year-old granddaughter’s pants that had a 4 zipper in the pant leg. The serviceman suspected the damage was done by the zipper. So how many of us wash clothes with zippers?!I called and ordered the part from Sears thinking this was possibly something we could fix ourselves, only the part was on back order and would take a month before it was in. Therefore I looked online and could purchase the part, delivered for $91.00. I called for repair service to ask them about it. He said they could be difficult. It would take him about an hour to put it on. Guess what, it was on in 5 minutes. Now, Im even madder because I know I could have done this myself. Whirlpool! Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this was 1 and a half years old; we’re a family of two, no warranty. Think people, we’re getting ripped off.

I got a Whirlpool washer front loader model number wfw9151yw. Every time I wash sheets, they go into a ball. I called Whirlpool. They sent out a service guy. He said do not wash sheets in a front loader. I called the store. They said call Whirlpool again. Then the second service guy moved the legs down about 1 in. The machine still not right. I feel Whirlpool should replace the machine or give me my money back.

I have a Cabrio washer displaying the F-1 error code. I called on Thursday, the 15th of Sept. I spoke to Vicky in the Cleveland, TN division. She told me that the F-1 code on my machine (model no. WTW6600SW2 and serial no. **) was covered under a recall at no cost, parts or labor (I specifically asked this question). She set up a service repair ticket with Freds Appliance at 888-453-7337 and gave me the date. I was home waiting when they called. The driver drove in the drive and asked if he was there for my Jenn-Air cook top! I said no, the F-1 error code on the washer. He explained that he had just used the last control board last week and he changes them frequently. I called Whirlpool. A very snotty Ashley proceeded to tell me that nothing was covered and I would have to pay. I asked for a supervisor and Ratna answered after a hold of 45 minutes on my cell. I explained the situation. After begging, she proceeded to tell me that she would pay for parts only. I explained that the tech did not have the parts, didnt even know the correct appliance, and now I have to take another day off work to meet him to have my washer fixed. I have not used the washer in two weeks. I used to only buy Whirlpool products. After reading all the complaints about the same error code from other consumers, I believe there are enough complaints that we as consumers should be protected.

I purchased Whirlpool only front load compact washer in June 2015 and lasted only a year before the door lock broke and getting F6 error that means mother board to be replaced. Whirlpool warranty department (AIG) did not bother to do a complete repair and offer buy out at a 75% of my purchase price. My five year warranty premium cost was not refunded. I do not recommend this model be purchased by anyone. Whirlpool washes its hands on the quality and reliability of its product in US and that is a shame! A service life the unit should be at least 9 years with affordable maintenance cost.
