When you first get the washer it looks like it can get the job done. Its the brand name and you trust to get the best clean from the washer. After a couple of months I dont see them clean. It washes with a couple of shakes back and forth and when my clothes are ready they seem like they were dipped in water. Not clean. It has all these fancy buttons for all different types of cycles and loads and they all seem to wash the same. As a mother of 3 kids I want my kids to put on CLEAN clothes. Not clothes that look like they have just been dipped in the water with detergent. I feel a good on cleaning board and my hands do a lot more than these high priced washers.

Bought it May 2019 and till now 3 times it failed and every time it takes 3 weeks to fix. As someone mentioned the Technician never sent with the possible parts and it takes another week to get the part. Whirlpool refuses to replace the bad product. I will never recommend this product to anyone whom I know want to buy a washer.

In May of 2010, my husband and I purchased a Cabrio washing machine. By the fall of 2010, I had put in a call to Whirlpool due to the washing machine chewing holes into clothing and not cleaning the clothes. Some of the clothes would come out of the washing machine with dry spots on them. Whirlpool sent out two different servicemen and even though one of them replaced the agitator we have still had problems with it. One of the servicemen even tried to tell me it wasnt the machine but it was my detergent (I use HE Purex dye free). I was told by a service rep at Whirlpool that there was nothing more they could do and I would just have to deal with it. I understand that products go faulty but with good customer service these issues could be resolved. Whirlpool obviously has little regard for their customers. I have contacted the Better Business Bureau. Hopefully they can get results.

My 1 year old Whirlpool top loader is an absolute nightmare. It does not complete cycles. Stops all the time with various error codes. My washing comes out soaking wet. The pipes on the inside comes loose and floods the house. The machine stops all the time with all the washing clogged on one side of the drum. It is a 16 kg capacity machine but you cannot even think of putting 8 kg laundry in there. I will never, ever buy any Whirlpool product again. Cheap scrap! Thats what it is.

I am pleased with the steel tub, the ability to do an extra rinse and spin and especially the choices of water level that it determines by the size of the load. Its ability save water use. I would repurchase the top loader again. My clothes come out looking wonderful especially the whites and I do not use bleach. It does not get the mold or mildew odor that my last machine would get due to the rubber or plastic made tub. I love it.

I just finished a call with Sears Repair. I informed them that this was the 5th service call since purchasing this Whirlpool Cabrio washer two years ago. The washer simply does not work. It fails to complete its cycle; fails to spin; fails to drain; fails to fill; leaves clothes streaked and dirty, smelly, and dripping wet for me to wring out by hand. I purchased it because of my faith in Sears and its Energy Saver label. I often have to wash the same load 2 or even 3 times to get it clean; no more than 6 towels at a time. (It is a large capacity washer, but acts up most often when washing towels or jeans.)Im a retired teacher; and in my best teacher voice – calm but serious – said that I would like Sears to come and take it away, issue me a credit or refund, or I would proceed to file with the Small Claims Court. His immediate response was, I dont appreciate the threat. I carefully (teacher voice) explained that it was not a threat... it was information. Yes, Im angry. But more than that, I am so disappointed in Sears, a company that I have always been loyal to – no more. Time to leave childhood behind and wake up to the reality that this is not the same Sears Ive dealt with for the last sixty years. Now, I’m to drive 25 miles of country roads to a Laundromat.

We purchased commercial washing machines for our building, we discovered that the clothes were coming out of the machines with dry spots and partials of soap. When we asked the dealer about this they sent a tech. to check the machines. It seems that these machines do not allow a adequate amount of water into the tub to wash the clothes. Only 6 or 7 inches of water is not enough water to wash a full load. When asked how this can be fixed I was told it cant be fixed. I was told this is a energy saving machine, which means you can only wash very small loads!What is the point of running a machine for twice the amount of time to do what you used to do in one load? Had we known this before purchasing what we felt was a quality machine, we are now stuck with machine not capable of doing what is required of them. When asked if they would take the machine back, no is all they say. I would never buy any product made by Whirlpool or Maytag because of the way this problem of ours has been handled. We purchased these machines from Prestige appliance, they have been good, but with no support from Whirlpool.

I have front loader, Ive left the door open after washes, run cleaning cycle once a month, never had any issues, like with anything. If you take care and service it regularly it will last a lifetime.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7340XW2 washer approx 2 years ago. The machine runs so loud on the spin cycle you cant have a phone conversation or hear the TV over it and is leaking grease from the bottom. My mistake to not purchase the extended warranty but you would think a machine would last more than 2 years. I contacted Whirlpool online and by mail and they do not stand behind their product. I did contact a local repair shop and by our phone conversation was told it would be approx 300-350 to fix it and Im not putting that kind of money into a repair. Just want to let consumers know this machine is junk and spend your money on quality appliances, not Whirljunkpool.

Purchased this Whirlpool Duet washer WFW920ww00 in 2011. 6 service calls while under 1 year warranty. The mother board was replaced..... after I smelled smoke and burning. Had trouble draining.... error codes F9E2 and F9E1 and SD (suds) and low flow were the usual. At times took 4-6 runs to get it through to point where I could open door. Often need to unplug for 20 minutes in order for it to progress. Clothes would not ring out... or be floating in water. Lately had to run on medium spin just to get it to work at all. The odor/smell was horrible and the rubber ring was black with mold after the 1st year. Completely stopped working this week, no power to panel. The repair shop said to not bother.... he has had customers replace 2 or 3 major parts in these and still keep getting the annoying error codes and difficulty making it through a complete wash. Moving on and buying something else.

Im on Whirlpool Cabrio washer top number 4. Well over $300.00 each, and washer doesnt work with a broken top. I sent a letter to Whirlpool telling them, NEVER again Whirlpool and my reason is the 4th top in 6 years. I purchased the Whirlpool Duet Steam Washer and Dryer in the spring of 2010. Washer bearings just broke. I was told that the bearings in these machines are not strong enough to support the spin cycles. It is very disappointing to think that a company like Whirlpool would have their customers pay $1000 for a machine they know is not going to last. I agree with Julie. Maybe a class action lawsuit needs to be filed. Is there a lemon law for washing machines?

My Whirlpool Cabrio washer (WTW6600SG2) is a money pit! After reading all of the nightmare stories concerning this washer one would think Whirlpool would offer a recall and try to correct their wrong doing. Do not buy a Whirlpool Cabrio. It was the worst decision I have ever made! Whirlpool does not stand behind their products. I cant believe they can get away with treating their customers so unfairly, taking their hard earned money for crap like this, then not offering to help after so many have had issues. Whirlpool ADP100 wh. A few programs, washes well, dries ok, not great but ok. Standard free standing size, 60 x 85 x 59 cm. The washer itself is fine, but oh the cheap moulded plastic parts, utensil basket, water arms etc, so poorly made. Its amazing that a company would use such poor quality and design to save what can be a few cents on the overall product, personally I was disgusted at the cheap crappy plastic bits.

Whirlpool Cabrio Model WTW6500WW1 - Have had good luck with previous Whirlpool Washers so thought I would purchase this one 2 years ago from Menards. Paid more than I normally would and thought it would be worth the extra money. Not so.......As many others, it has a foul odor that will not go away and now sounds like a freight train in the house. Called Whirlpool about this issue and parts are not covered. Total cost of parts including the tool that is needed for this repair is $187.00 not including shipping. Whirlpool has lost my business moving forward as like many others, Im sure. Very disappointed!

After three visits from a repair company, they couldnt fix it and said we need to buy a new one. It seems like an electronic problem, but we have to replace the whole machine. Consumer Reports says a machine should last 10-14 years. Numerous people online have stated the same issue with the same model. More than one person stated there is already a class action lawsuit on this machine? Please help. Who can afford a new expensive machine after a few years of service?

Cabrio washing machine - I have had the exact same problems as all of the above... lid locks occasionally ... after many frustrating tries. I am ready to pick up this stupid washing machine and pitch it in the junk pile! Soap on clothes so I have to redo ... except many times it takes forever to get the stupid machine to restart... Most times I end up rinsing things by hand in the sink. We are constantly itchy from soap residue. My clothes do not come out clean. Especially the towels. Clothes are not spun out as much as they should be... Have been doing it over again by hand many times... which is not good because They still have way too much water in them and it takes 2 -3 Times longer to dry them! I am so disappointed in this set. I always thought Whirlpool was a great brand but, sadly, I was terribly mistaken. Never again. Finally got someone to say they have to replace all the controls. They say they will send parts but I have to pay someone to change it out... sounds like they admit there is a problem but will not accept full responsibility for it. I did not make the item so why do I have to pay to have it fixed? I believe they should issue a recall and make all of us believers in them again. I guess its my fault for buying their product? I purchased my whirlpool washer on 01/24/2011 and I purchased a 5 yr extended warranty at the time of purchase. My washer broke down. I called the whirlpool co. After 5 mins getting through the phone prompts and another 30 mins on hold I finally spoke with a rep name Ashley who state that there was no account or record of my warranty. She connected me to another department where I spoke with Eva. I was advised that since the company that sold me the warranty was out of business whirlpool would set up an account for me if I faxed the information documenting my original purchase. I faxed the information, waited three days without a response. I called today went through the phone prompts and could not reach the reps I spoke with before. The reps today were not helpful and refused to even try to get me to the reps I spoke with before. I was advised that the previous reps provided inaccurate information.If an appliance comes with a one year warranty and a consumer purchases a 5 yr extended warranty should it be added to the 1 yr or is the first year included in the 5yrs? Wouldnt it only be a 4 yr extended warranty if that were the case? I am very disappointed in the lack of quality of my washer and misrepresentation that was communicated by whirlpool reps. At the very least they should answer the phone promptly and honor the commitment to repair products. This is the case number (**) I was provided the first time I called, but it is not recognized by the reps I spoke with the 2nd time. I was provided 866.368.6478 as a contact# and a fax#. I faxed my receipts to that number as instructed.

I purchased my Whirlpool washer on June 28, 2011. Within 4 months, I had to call for a repair. It is now going to be a year and I am on my seventh repair call. The repairs have been everything from loose pulleys, new belts, and new valves. When I called to complain, they said there is nothing they could do and I should take out the extended warranty. I have had washing machines last up to 15 years. Needless to say, they werent Whirlpools. I really would like to have it replaced. I dont think its fair to me that I should have to wait for a repairman to come out and tell me he doesnt have the part and has to come back. I did take out the extended warranty, which cost approximately $150.00 and that should not have to be.

Its a great machine but the temperature control button is easily moved at times. The machine does a great job in washing clothes. Ive had mine for 10 years now and hope that I never have to replace it.

The repair technician just left telling us that our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine is fine. It is a little over a year old, makes LOUD noises as it runs, doesnt get the clothes clean and often doesnt even get them wet. The clothing sits above the water and comes out with pet hair, soap and dry spots. We use it the way the manual directs but it seems to be a totally defective machine. We sure wouldnt sell it to anyone nor give it away to some poor unsuspecting soul. Guess it needs to go to the dump. Shame on you Whirlpool for taking advantage of so many of us.

A new washer, kept in pristine condition, indoors in an upstairs laundry room, used by 1 person for 4 years should NOT rust out. I took pictures and sent them to Julia ** a company representative after she offered me a discount on a new washer but would not send me an email with directions like it was some kind of secret until I insisted several times. The email simply had her phone number. I was to let her know the models I would be interested in and she would tell me if those were available for the discount. Then the company would charge me, deliver the new one and charge me to install and remove the old one. How is this for a great company. I sent her the models I might consider. No word back. Whirlpool, not looking like a stand-up company to be proud of. Shame on this company.I like the machine, but seeing it rust out before my very eyes has changed my mind. How will they address a 4 year old washer rusting from the inside out? How will they address a 1 year warranty? I found a copy of Whirlpool Washer Warranty that used to have up to five years for issues such as poor workmanship. It takes more than a year to find these things out. Dont make them if you cant guarantee that they will last. My last Maytag lasted 18 years and was still in good shape. I just wanted a model without the agitator in the middle and on that would conserve water. Should have kept the old one.

This machine was my dream machine for about two years. Then the noise started during the spin cycle. It gradually got louder and louder, until it got so loud that it sounded like a jet engine taking off. You could not be near the wash room and hear each other talk. Then it began to aggravate me with the UL flashing. I know how to load a washing machine. It was just a defect. Then it started making a grinding sound to add to the roaring spin noise. We were told that it would take over $500.00 to fix, so we just sat back and waited for it to die. Well, the other day it began to leak some water out of the bottom of the machine. Whirlpool top loader washing machine Model CAE2743BQ0 - Highly regret buying this washing machine. It was expensive and it doesnt actually wash clothes. Clothes come out with streaks of dirt and detergent since the machine barely has an agitator and whats worse it doesnt load enough water. I called Sears for repair three times and the technicians say thats the way this machine is. Its terrible! So frustrating. Since we were over the 30 day return period when we noticed the issue wasnt going away, Sears wont do anything. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!

I purchased this piece of crap excuse for a washing machine, the Whirlpool Cabrio, almost 2 years ago, in September, 2015. Since that time I have had nothing but dissatisfaction about how it washes, and the extremely poor results. I contacted my sales associate early on, I was told, just like others who have purchased this machine, that it was a water-saving machine, and I needed to read the manual closely and just do what it said to do. I did that. Long story short, I am sick and tired of this machine, stopped using it, bought another machine that lets me choose how much water for each and every cycle, it washes extremely well, my clothes come out clean, it HAS AN AGITATOR, DIFFERENT BRAND, and I am very HAPPY with it! I will never ever buy a Whirlpool product again. I am well-known, have an extremely large number of friends, and I will be spreading the word that Whirlpool built a piece of crap. Never mind that piece of crap washing machine was mandated per government regulations to cut down on water, thats a bunch of crap. Users should not have to buy expensive cleaners, tote extra water to a washing machine that uses so little water that it barely covers the clothes, and no person should have to use a product like this. Never. Washed clothes from this machine stink, the odors will not leave my clothes, whites are now yellow, stained, and colors have white spots on them. Whirlpool, you have built this piece of crap, I hope you have large heapings of Karma! What a joke. What a useless company now, sell out and go play on the beach. Ordered this two days after my son came home from college. He had to be out of his apartment July 31 2016 and brought 4 years worth of laundry with him. Monday my machine breaks, Tuesday I order this thing from Lowes Arrives at 2:30 on Thursday and as it is being installed I ask why the water fill is so slow. It is trickling out like a childs toy. Delivery man tells me the water is completely turned on. He hears this remark a lot from people who buy this model. I put in my first load of laundry, a small load of about 6 things that I am washing for my mother who is in a nursing home. They have that nursing home smell. I push pause as the machine is cleaning to unlock the lid and peek inside. Oh my God the clothes are sitting on top of each other not even covered in water. I then shut the lid and listen to the tiny slush of the machine agitating. At the end of the cycle they smell exactly the same. Dirty.I had read to use the deep fill so I rewash them on deep fill. Look inside halfway through and what do I see? Wet clothes piled on top of each other, still not floating in water. How are these clothes getting clean when they are in a wet pile on the bottom of the machine? I take them out. Still not clean. Not smelling quite as bad, but not smelling like soap. I then washed sheets, a blanket, and some clothing of my sons. Nothing smelled particularly dirty but NOTHING smelled like soap. The quilt was covered in hairs (my son and roommates had a dog) and soap residue. I had read this in reviews online also. I am wasting time since each load takes from 50 to 130 minutes (yes). I am wasting soap, oh but I am saving water - not really.Well Lowes has a 30 day return policy so I went down there and am expecting a GE machine with an agitator tomorrow, Saturday! Cant wait. The only one saving money are these manufacturers They no longer are spending cash on producing the agitator out of plastic, attaching it with nuts and bolts, or using gaskets between the parts. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK, do not even look at it. I question all the HE machines at this point. You need to use HE soap cause you cant wash away suds in a machine with no water. What a con - the whole thing is.

Whirlpool Duet Sport W & D purchased from Costco in mid 2007 for $1600. Costco gives an additional one year warranty, totaling three years. Both have worked exceptionally, I must say -- clothes come much much cleaner, keep their color, and last much longer vs. top loaders (Im sure the water softener helps). Two separate techs just confirmed the circuit boards went on the washer ($450 with labor) to replace. Washer looks brand new, but now will be going to the curb.

Whirlpool washing machine model WCW4950XW2 - We have a barely two year washing machine that we purchased at Best Buy and it no longer drains or spins. After $100 repair call we were told that this is a common problem with this model. It is a transmission problem, and with the way the machine is built a repair person cannot get into the transmission to fix it. He suggested we buy a new washing machine. This is a travesty on so many levels! If whirlpool know it has a problem it should offer a partial refund for the purchase of a newer better machine. I keep thinking about what our landfill in this world look like with the proliferation of appliances that are engineered to last a year or two. I can guarantee you I will never purchase any Whirlpool produce again, and I will research whether other brands are associated with the whirlpool brand before I buy it. Sad that a once good company has gone to hell.

I purchased a Whirlpool 4.3-cu ft top load washer with a stain steel basket, in March 2020. Machine is able accommodate comforters, automatic water level adjust to loads. Washer has an extra rinse and spin feature. Low noise when operating. I would purchase washer again.

I purchased this model 2 years ago. I absolutely hate the fact that there is not enough water dispensed to clean my clothes. Part of my clothes dont even get wet, therefore, I have to press pause and add 2 to 3 gallons of water during the wash and rinse cycles. I do like the spin cycle as long as it does not get unbalanced.Wished I had never purchased it.

Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine: The washer was purchased in March of 2012 and malfunctioned in December 2014. After phoning Whirlpool, the machine was scheduled for repair with a factory-authorized company. The first repair attempt was unsuccessful due to a lack of parts. It took 10 days for the parts to arrive, and another unsuccessful repair attempt was made. The verdict is that a new motor control board, costing $350 plus labor, is necessary. With the delay in service and cost of repairs, I may as well buy a new machine.

I purchased the Amana washer # NTW4560YQO 10 months ago - when I put on the warn setting I would get an alternate cold warm but a warm wash. At the beginning of July suddenly all I got was cold water. The machine is still under warranty so I called and I got an authorized repair person who came out and replaced the mixing valve.. then I went to wash clothes and yes all I got was cold water. The authorized repair person came out and could not figure why. He called Whirlpool tech dept and they told him it was working the way it was supposed to. Now it does not give any warm water so I do not know how the tech person can make that statement.They then sent yet another authorized repair person from a different repair company and yet again the tech person said it is working the way it is supposed to. IT IS NOT WORKING THE WAY IT WORKED WHEN I PURCHASED IT AND THE WAY IT WORKED FOR 9 MONTHS. When I called customer disservice they kept repeating, our tech people say it is working the way it is supposed to. Then they tried to tell me it was the ground water. I want to know how many others out here have had the same problem. I really feel this is a defective machine and I want my money back or I want compensation and an acknowledgement that there is a problem with their crappy machine.

First off, took five weeks to get the damned thing delivered after buying it at Lowes Home Improvement. Have problems with the drain overflowing when the washer tries to empty. Major plumbing work to rectify that. My complaint with Whirlpool is the washer doesnt work. It will partially fill and then stops. The wash light then lights up and nothing happens. I let it sit for three hours and the clothes never washed. It took an act of God to get the washer to empty. It never did spin the clothes. The washer refuses to work through the cycles. $1500 wasted on this POS! Trying to get an appointment scheduled is equally frustrating on Whirlpools website. Never again will I buy Whirlpool!

Bought this washer 3 months ago. Absolutely hate it! Leaves white film on my clothes. Have to run all washes through a quick wash to get the film off. Hammers the water through the pipes, causing the fittings to come lose and leak! The spin cycle practically dries the clothes leaving them so wrinkled that I have to dry them longer to get the wrinkles out. Waste of my time and MONEY!

We purchased the Whirlpool washer less than a year ago and are now having the 4th transmission put into it. We are also having the 3rd timer put into it. We purchased this from Sears and bought the extended warranty (thank God). One of the times the technician ordered the parts to repair the machine. The service center sent the wrong parts and we had to wait an additional week for the correct parts to arrive. The 3rd transmission they installed lasted a week before it leaked gear oil all over our floor. When you do get a service call scheduled it will get rescheduled to a later date. This happened twice. They also cancelled the service call once before they fixed the machine. If I could give a zero star for this I would. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL WASHER AND DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO SEARS FOR ANYTHING. Worst company to business with. I will say this that the service guy that comes out to do the work is a good guy. He stayed until almost 9:00 pm on one of the service calls. Hes been here so many times our dog knows him and doesnt bark at him anymore.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7800XW2 - After buying my American made washer..... at nearly $900 with extended warranty about 2 years ago. This week noticed small cracks in plastic that surrounds and holds glass lid. Now lid will not sit flat and glass is emerging from encasement. Called extended warranty claim center and was told it was a cosmetic issue. Called Whirlpool, and was told they were unaware of this flaw, even though countless websites, chat sites, and Youtube. My frustration is how they claim to be unaware of this flaw and refusal address it, after countless consumers have called. I would be willing to start a class action on this matter!

I owned a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine for 3 years (a two person household). The repairman just quoted $700 to repair a faulty center hub seal and bearing. This machine was not inexpensive. I expect more from a quality machine. A telephone call to Whirlpool resulted in two ten minute holds while being shuffled between representatives and each representative tried to sell me an extended warranty for another $289. Whirlpool should take full responsibility for this faulty product and not act like a telephone support center located in Eastern Europe. I am not pleased with this (lack of) resolution and do not plan to purchase another Whirlpool product.

Last year, our clothes started coming out too wrinkled. And until recently, its making a loud noise like an airplane. I called Whirlpool, and the only help they can give me is finding a company that would do service and would charge a lot.

I was not impressed with the new HE washers but could not find any traditional ones anymore. I bought a Amana and am disgusted that it is only 3 years old and needs to be replaced because of a transmission problem with it not agitating. It costs more to repair than it is worth. As a consumer, I should be given a choice whether I want to upscale or be satisfied with older model features. I will never buy or recommend a Amana HE washer to anyone. My mother also has one, has had it for a year and it is already giving her problems. Shame on you Whirlpool.

My washer worked less than a year. I finally called Whirlpool and they basically said, were a big company and you must for the rusty, broken drive shaft, pay for all new computer face plate, and service repair. I contacted the FTC and they told me they needed more complaints in order to make them do a recall on Cabrios. Good luck!

The washing machine (WFS10055CD) was working fine until two months after the warranty period...It worked the night before, but in the morning, there were no lights. I emailed Whirlpool, but I received no reply. So, I called their number to ask if they would honor their faulty product JUST out of warranty...They wouldnt accept this...I live in an area with no service agents for them so I would also require freight costs of 1,000 km away...I have had an electrician examine the unit to find it may be the control panel/mother board...seems funny many issues with Whirlpool machines JUST out of warranty!!!

I purchased this Cabrio top loader washing machine (model #WTW5640XW3) after I had a Kenmore front loader for 14 years with not one problem. I bought the Cabrio thinking it was good for the price. Well, let me tell you first of all, I dont like the no agitator. The salesman said it was a big seller. I started doing wash and it was smelling like dirty socks when it was done. I own the machine for two months. I cleaned the machine with Afresh thinking the smell on my clean clothes was from being a new machine. Imagine that I have to use extra fabric softener, vinegar. I dont know what to do. This machine stinks. I am going to try to return it. Wish me luck. I dont think it washes right.

We have the Cabrio model and are thoroughly pleased with the performance. My only issue is the amount of sounds during the spin cycle. Otherwise, the machine is quiet. I like having the automatic dispensers for soap, bleach and fabric softener. Not having the classic tub makes loading a little different as the clothes need to be distributed around the side of the tub and avoid the center.

Installers left and Home Depot Cabrio washer stopped with water left in tub. I reset GFIC outlet, tried again and it stopped. Did some research and tried different outlets. Same result. I discovered that if you shut off machine as soon as the GFIC is reset, then the washer will drain no matter what. I have been on the phone with Home Depot and they have no solution but to wait one week for a repairman. Very dissatisfying service. Now I am running a 20 foot, 3 prong, heavy duty extension cord into living area where there are no GFIC outlets and it has been running. I believe there is a fault in the washer, but they must not care if we get electrocuted from the faulty grounding of their Whirlpool product.

I bought a Whirlpool washer in Aug. 2015. At the end of September I had to call and get a repair man to come out twice because my clothes got stuck way down under the agitator. Not only that, but it does not clean my clothes well at all. I am really dissatisfied with this washer!!

I am writing this review because I have been working with Whirlpool regarding our Cabrio washer for the last 9 months. Ever since we got this washer, it leaves a stain on our clothes, especially dark cottons. It looks like a grease stain. The machine is still under warranty (though we did purchase the 5 year warranty), and we have had the technicians out 3 times to figure out the problem and fix it. They even had another company come out to do a second opinion. They are stating that the machine is functioning and therefore there is nothing they can do for me. All of the tests the technicians do come out normal, and therefore the machine is functioning, never mind that it still leaves stains on many of our clothes on a regular basis.I spoke with someone yesterday who was unable to help, stating there was nothing they could do. So, I asked for her superior, he stated that it is functioning properly, and that I should take the advice of one of the technicians who suggested I mix the soap with water beforehand because he is pretty certain it is soap residue (though he admitted I dont use too much when I showed him how much I use). Never mind the fact that if I have to do something more than the directions state, it isnt working properly, we have already done this and it doesnt stop the residue from happening. He still just continued to say that is what the technician said would help so that is what Im supposed to do.So, I asked for his manager. I am currently waiting for them to call me back. I am hoping they will do the right thing and just exchange it for a different washing machine, one that will work. I dont care what kind, whether its brand new or not, I just want a washing machine that actually cleans my clothes instead of leaving a residue on them.We do agree with the technician that said it was soap residue. We have a picture of a pile of dry soap in the dispenser (which the first technician told me to switch to) after the washer had finished its cycle. The washer doesnt have enough water mix with the soap to keep it from leaving a residue on the clothes. And, the residue doesnt just wash off if I wash it again (which shouldnt need to be done with a washer that is less than a year old anyway). It is a permanent stain unless we scrub it with Lestoil - an oil remover. But, that takes time and it needs to be washed twice to get the Lestoil scent out, which then gives it the chance to get new stains from the washer! Its an endless cycle. Needless to say, I have NOT been impressed with this washer.

We purchased this washer in 2017, its the top loading Cabrio washer and it has been nothing but junk since day one. Purchased from RC Wiley in Boise and unfortunately did not buy the extended warranty because we trusted that this American company would make a washer that would last longer than 3 yrs. This washer barely washes clothes, leaves a residue on them since there is no agitator, also constantly gets unbalanced or gives and error of LF which means water supply issue when there isnt one. My 15 yr old about has a heart attack when he uses the quick setting and his clothes arent done in an hour and a half. Ive even resorted to turning the thing on to just rinse and spin so things get done sooner, still the stupid washer just sits. I would sell it but I dont want to pass on the pain, so its going to the dump to or to Goodwill cause its not worth the headache. Too bad you cant trust an American company to make a good product. Sad I really wanted to like this washer.

We purchased 2 whirlpool commercial coin operated washer machines and both computer boards had to be replaced twice each - model CAE2743bqo and CAE27438qd.

This washer is 5 years old and the top is rusting out on the inner rim. I have city water that has been tested and found to be totally safe to use and drink. Neighbors using the same water and owning different brand washers have no rust problems. Does anyone else have the same problem with their Cabrio washer?

I got a Whirlpool washer front loader model number wfw9151yw. Every time I wash sheets, they go into a ball. I called Whirlpool. They sent out a service guy. He said do not wash sheets in a front loader. I called the store. They said call Whirlpool again. Then the second service guy moved the legs down about 1 in. The machine still not right. I feel Whirlpool should replace the machine or give me my money back.

In 2008 bought cheaper Whirlpool washer, had to return it to Lowes. ELLL DUMOH (me) buys yet another Whirlpool Washer from Lowes; a Cabrio. The Cabrio ONLY worked 3 years, and started having problems with not emptying or just continuing to drain and beep. The Whirlpool Customer Service lady is pitiful. Yeah... I can SELL you another set of shock absorbers... that might help. I can SELL you a recirculating pump or a drain pump... Pitiful, sorry attitude. Goodbye Whirlpool.

I bought a Cabrio washer in 2009. I started receiving the infamous F51 code. When I called Whirlpool, they refused to even acknowledge that there is a problem with this washer. I purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio washer 3 years ago. It is the worst washer I have ever owned. During the first year it had to be repaired. It continuously flashes F51 when I try to wash a load of towels or bedding. I am beyond fed up with this machine and will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product. If you are considering purchasing one of these I would tell you not to waste your money.

I bought my Whirlpool Cabrio Washing Machine in 2010. I hate it 100%. I have never used bleach in the machine. I use liquid detergent only. 2 things happen every day: #1: When I wash a load of colors, I take them out when complete and there is dry white powder like substance over the black clothes. It looks dirty but it just got washed. #2 About once a week, I will pull something out of the washer and there is a bleach spot on it. The last item that this happened to was a $200 sweater. It went in the garbage. This should never of happened with an $800 washing machine.

Whirlpool Cabrio Elite Top Loading Washer Model WTW8240YW - I add my complaint to the roughly 2000 others about this machine and Whirlpool. Two months after the warranty expired the machine started making a loud noise on the spin cycle. I called a repairman and he said it was the main bearing going bad and this was a common problem with this model. He recommended buying a new washer rather than repairing the unit because the cost to repair was greater than what I paid for the washer. I called Whirlpool and all they offered was to send a repairman at my cost. This is terrible service for a documented problem that they have. I will buy a new washer but it will not be a Whirlpool!

We purchased an Estate Washer for my 89-year-old mother in 2008. The paint has been peeling down to bare metal on the left top quarter from the corner down to the lid hinge for the past 2 years. I contacted customer service and was given probable causes, one of which was the washer might have gotten dusty! He said that could cause chipping. I reminded him the problem is peeling chunks, no chips, layers of paint. The warranty expired of course. The solution he offered was for me to buy paint from Whirlpool or Lowe’s, and paint it. I have had a Kenmore washer for 24 years. The paint is perfect, and it still runs great. I would never buy another Whirlpool product. The quality is atrocious.

Ive always had a Whirlpool washing machine and it has been extremely dependable. I have not had any problems with my Whirlpool washer. A Whirlpool has came a long ways with their pricing. It was very affordable for somebody like me and I cant afford a lot but I could afford this. I was very pleased with my purchase and with the product. They havent let me down so far.

My washing machine ruined clothes with tiny rips. Small rubber pieces appeared in clothes. This happened during warranty but Whirlpool would do nothing. Finally, the bellow completely broke apart after 13 months. Repairman could not determine problem until this time. Whirlpool would do nothing.

On November 1, 2011, I purchased the Whirlpool Estate washer (model # ETW4400XQ) from Wholesale Appliance in Charleston, SC. The first time I used it I knew something wasnt right when both the regular and so-called gentle cycle agitated at an incredibly fast speed. It is damaging my clothes. I called the dealer and they sent out a service person. He said that was just the way it was and he couldnt do anything. So, I keep trying to use the gentle cycle, but it was the same thing. I would have to stand by the machine and stop it after a couple of minutes so it wouldnt ruin the clothes. The more I thought about it, I decided that the repairman wasnt right. I called Whirlpool customer service and they sent a different repair service. He also said that he couldnt do anything to make it slow down as it was programmed by a computer inside and he could not change it. I went to the dealer, Wholesale Appliances, and they said there was nothing they could do as far as giving me a refund or a discount on a better machine. The setting on the washer clearly says gentle cycle.” Well, the whole world knows that does not mean beat the clothes to death as fast as possible. Can you make any suggestions? Thanks.

I purchased the Cabrio washer about 2 years ago. This summer, I began to hear a roar in my washer when it was spinning. I called a repairman and in order to fix it, the tub has to be replaced and it will cost $258 plus service call. My sister purchased her Cabrio 3 years ago and her washer has the same problem. This sounds like a recall issue to me. I think Whirlpool needs to recall this washer or pay my bill.

I purchased a washer model# wtw560xw, serial# c04830040 on 1/11/11. This product has never properly washed clothes. I have had 3 technicians come out and press buttons on my machine. The most recent supervisor I spoke w is Niki id# **. She said that the machine washes but is not supposed to clean clothes. I am getting blown off and aggravated. I filed a complaint with BBB that went nowhere. Someone from the corporate office named Amanda called me and told me she would look into it and a week and a half later, not return my call. Whirlpool Cabrio Washer-Dryer - Bought a set a few years ago at Lowes. They are a very attractive set and I was pleased at first. Now, I have had to have repairmen out for these units 3 times. The bearings keep going out on the washer because it spins so fast, it wears them out. Now the thing is leaking. Whatever happened to the days when appliances lasted 15-20 years. For the high cost of these things, they are junk. I am very disappointed. I will never buy one of these again.

The salesperson was great but we are not happy with our washer. We already had it swapped out once because of white spots showing up on our clothes. The only thing they could think of was that the bleach I used wasnt rinsing out completely so it showed up on our clothes. Recently, I washed a table runner by itself and it had some red in it. Now there are red spots on a couple of items that I washed after the runner. My husband just now asked why there were red spots on a shirt that he wears all the time. I explained. Also, we have had some white spots on clothes and I could scratch it out without leaving a permanent mark. Were no longer using bleach and we use only liquid detergent and all of it is HE. So I dont understand the machine. I hate it.

I purchased this Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer on 12/1/12. I started getting an F1 fault and all the lights on the machine light up like a Christmas tree during cycles now. I thought I would research Google to see if others were having the same problem. I was VERY disappointed to see all of the same issues others were having with this high end washer. Without even calling a repairman, I know that this motherboard fix is $400+ based on all of the negative feedback. We have a large Whirlpool plant in my hometown, and I hate to see the lack of resolve by Whirlpool.

Whirlpool cabrio wtw7800xwo - During the 12th month of the use of this washer, the lid broke. I called Whirlpool to schedule a repair on it. I got someone here to repair it, and it was 7 days over the 1 year warranty. I don’t think this is fair when they sent the repair guy out too late when I scheduled this right before the 1 year was up. I came about looking this up online, and I find I’m not the only one with a 1 year lid. My next washer will be a 1980s built to last. This was the worst $1,100 I ever spent. I had to choose 1 star. I love the large capacity of the washer. But something is turning my whites YELLOW! I have never had this problem in 40 years of washing clothes. All of my whites come out yellowish and I am getting what could be rust stains on heavier cloth (white denim). Also, I regularly used the soak setting on my old Whirlpool. That setting is not available in the Cabrio. I have tried catching between cycles and the drum is constantly emptied. I wish Id read these reviews before I bought.

Do NOT buy this machine. This has been the worst washer I have ever owned. There are times when my clothes come out of the washer and parts of them are STILL DRY! I pulled out a pair of pants I had worn while cleaning my attic and the cobwebs were still attached to the legs! I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio about five years ago. Last year, the motherboard had to be replaced. This year, it started load balance issues on the spin cycle; in other words, it wont spin without sounding like its going to tear itself apart. Cabrio washer bought 5 or 6 years ago. Started a whining noise when spinning, so loud we close the washroom door to hear the TV. Called service, they immediately knew that the main bearing was going out & quoted the two parts needed to fix THAT COSTS MORE THAN THE MACHINE DID NEW! Labor was not included. Was also told that it will eventually start leaking. Piece of junk. What happened to simple washers that did a good job washing in half the time that lasted 15 to 20 years???

This machine does not clean the clothes well, keeps an odor even after using Clorox (probably due to water inside that never leaves), and does not spin the clothes well. Every washing is longer than traditional washers and then I must use the spin-only cycle twice (adding another 30 minutes). I must also shake the inside of the tub to get the spin to work at all. The tech came out and re-calibrated, but to no advantage. Terrible machine and should be, as one viewer said, under recall, in my opinion. NOT WORTH THE MONEY -- and I am very disappointed in Whirlpool.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer thinking I was purchasing a quality product. Unfortunately it was one of the worst decision my wife and I have made. The bearings (lower) only last about 2 years. We purchased the extended warranty and the first time it was covered. The second set were not covered and now we will have to change them again. We will not ever purchase another Whirlpool product. I contacted them several times with no positive results. I still saved the last worn out bearings to show the CEO. The engineers do not have a very good idea to make the lower bearing last. Where I purchased the machine they told me after the first change that it would happen again and they were correct. If anyone needs to contact me about this product feel free. NEVER EVER BUY A WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT.

I purchased a Whirlpool Duet washer from a local appliance store in May 2009. I also purchased a 60-month extended warranty covering the washer until May 2015. I was shocked when I tried to use the washer today (May 16, 2012) and it would not turn on. I called the repair facility the appliance store supplied as the warranty repair facility, only to be shocked again. I was told the appliance store suddenly went out of business and my ($130) extended warranty was no longer in effect and I would have to pay for repair out of my pocket. I then called Whirlpool knowing they would stand behind their faulty $740, 3-year old washer. They told me there was nothing they could do because the one year warranty they offered was over. I had a repair person look at the washer and he told me a control board had to be replaced and the repair would cost at least $550. I told him I was just going to buy a new washer. I had not been happy with the washer from day one and was very sorry I had purchased it. It did not wash the clothes very well. Also, I had a musty/moldy smell in my basement that would not go away no matter how much I cleaned. The repairman told me today that the smell is coming from the washer. I just cant believe I am out almost $1,000 and there is nothing I can do about it. After reading the many reviews on this website about Whirlpool appliances, I am sure they will not be in business much longer. They should be ashamed of themselves for what they are doing to consumers like myself especially in todays economy. Is there anything that can be done about this?

Bearing on washer drum began getting louder at two years. Service man stated that Tide and a few other detergents were destroying the washer bearing seal. He told us that neither Tide nor Whirlpool will admit the problem exists. The cost of repairing the washer is close to the purchase price. Whirlpool should be subject to a class action lawsuit!

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine April 2016. I was so excited to have a new washing machine. I thought the 1st couple times I used it I just didnt have settings right. It uses so little water it doesnt get all clothes wet. If they are not wet they cant be clean. So I started doing very small loads. Then clothes were not clean. They stink. So I have tried every detergent out there. Nothing helps. Another thing it takes an hour or longer per wash to get not so dirty clothes. Not to mention it puts holes in my towels. I tried reaching out to Lowes where we bought it only less than 4 months ago only to be told they would contact Whirlpool. Whirlpool wanted to send tech that I would have to pay for just to tell me that the piece of crap washing machine is doing everything the manufacturer made it to do. I told him I was not going to pay so. I think with all the problems people there should be a class action lawsuit. DO NOT BUY CABRIO!!!

Design is made so you will need a repair man to clean filter. The machine has to be taken apart to get to filter. About one hour of your time. If youre not handy its a paid repair About $250 to $300. Also the valves that control the water into the washer failed after about 5 years. An easy fix part costs about $60. All appliances are designed to fail after the purchased extended warranty expires. More features more repairs. So if you arent going to use a feature get a simpler machine. More money does not mean better machine. Or that it will last longer. The days of an appliance lasting 10 to 20 years are over.

I bought this washing machine in May 5, 2012 and delivered in July from Paddys Market. We do not use the machine that much because me and my wife and two kids living in the house. Yesterday I put my clothes in the machine and left it to wash it. When I went to get my clothes, water was all over the place in the basement and the machine was beeping and reading code LF. I turn off the machine and turned on back. Water started to fill and then suddenly water started to coming from the bottom of the machine. I removed the bottom panel and I could see the water was coming very fast from the bottom of the basket (the drum shape). I called the private company to repair it and waiting to find out.

After happily using Maytag washers at my old address for 30 some years, I moved to my current address and in 2006 I purchased a new Maytag. In 2010 I needed service. I was advised it had a bad bearing and was not advised to repair as it would cost well over $600.00. I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio top loading HE appliance.The Cabrio worked well until one day it made a horrible noise. Although it still worked, I called for service and was told it had a bad bearing and would cost $670.00 to fix and they advised against it. After the service call, it never worked again. I know things dont last like they used to but 4 years is ridiculous. I have been advised that Whirlpool bought Maytag. Is this what to expect from so called reputable companies?

I am a working single man. I needed a used washer. I shopped the new washers but they were a lotta money. I seen many of them were without agitators. Well heck... who am I to judge the progress in technology?? So, going around to the used appliance store I run across this Whirlpool Cabrio. OK, Whirlpool meant quality my entire life. So, I bought it. MASSIVE MISTAKE!!! This POS is no washing machine. I dont know what it is, but it is NO washing machine! It is a machine that runs a very few gallons of water into a load of clothes and makes them wet, and that is about it!!All I know is the federal government is dropping the ball on this situation BIG TIME!! To allow a company to foist off on consumers such a PILE OF JUNK!! The pile of crap is PURE junk as far as simply doing its job... washing clothes!! It is a DISGRACE of an American product, and I will NEVER buy anything made by Whirlpool the rest of my life!!I took the device off the lid that tells it when the lid is closed, and just stuck it in its receptacle in the body... so I could raise the lid while it is running and watch this POS in action and try and figure out what the hell is going on. First big problem is it NEEDS an agitator!! Obviously Whirlpool had not figured out how to make the clothes circulate without one. Second is the water level (no matter what cycle setting) is obscenely LOW!! The clothes do not circulate AT ALL, and about 1/3 of them do not even get below water level for the entire cycle!! What I am forced to do is use a water hose and run a lot more water off into the tub just to get the clothes in the damn water!! And ever at that, the clothes still do not circulate AT ALL!! They just rub up against each other!! And I have to use twice as much soap than called for!!

Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum WTW8500BWO - It doesnt wash anything very well. I hate it. Dont want it. Wish I didnt buy it. I do all kinds and sizes of loads. My clothes come out dirty - I have to wash my clothes 2 or 3 times.

I bought this washing machine after having my Kenmore for 20 years. This washing machine is a nightmare. I have to wash my clothes 2 or 3 times, to get them clean. Everything has residue on them. Once a month, I do use a cleaning tablet, and between loads, I wipe the washer out too! This is the biggest piece of junk! Save your money. Buy an old school washing machine.

My issue is I believe that Whirlpool should pay for my tub and bearing part because the washing is only 16 months old. Because it went over the one-year warranty by four months, I shouldnt have to buy this part considering it is such a big break for such a young washer. Please advise if Whirlpool will assist me with this issue.

Purchased a house and old owners left an almost new one with house. Thing does not clean even minor soiled cloths. Plan on buying new machine directly and it will not be a GE or Whirlpool. I can see why they were willing to leave the new washer. I left a 15-year old Maytag at my old residence (wish I had it back).

My washer is at least 15 years old. When we bought it we had two school aged children at home. My husband and I now have an empty-nest and we have not had any service calls or break downs since we purchased this machine. It still cleans our laundry very well and we are getting our moneys worth from this washer.

I purchased this washer model WTW4950XW0 new. Within 6 months, it stopped spinning and was repaired under warranty. The spin actuator was defective. Great. A few months later, it stopped spinning, repaired under warranty and the spin actuator was bad. A few months later it stopped spinning, repaired under warranty, and the actuator was bad. Great. Another few months it stopped spinning again. This time, Whirlpool sent someone to repair it, another bad spin actuator. This time we had to pay for the part. So now that we are completely on our own, it stopped spinning yet again. Let me guess. The spin actuator is bad!!! Incredible. What a piece of crap. This washer was never used heavily.

I owned a Kenmore washer for approx. 20 yrs that endured 6 kids for most of that time period. When time came for a new one, I had to have the latest model, and settled on a Maytag Bravos approx 3 yrs ago. This was a huge mistake - I paid between 600-800 for this machine, and it is a piece of garbage. The repairmen here yesterday explained to me that Maytag and Whirlpool are now the same company, and also that all these machines are now made overseas because of cheap labor. In a nutshell, I was given an estimate of at least 300 to repair this piece of crap - he explained that they are only made to last a few yrs -where is the justice in this situation? I really dont get how these big companies get away with selling crap, knowing all the while that the consumer is getting screwed - yet people continue to buy them..
