Whirlpool Washer Model WTW4300SW
Reading the many reviews of malfunctioning washers and other appliances, I wonder why organizations like Consumer Affairs and Consumer Reports do NOT help the many cheated customers form a class action lawsuit or boycott or some other means to effectively organize and force manufacturers to return the full cost of purchase, taxes, shipping, moving and repairs for 5 years for every product. The manufacturer have NO consequences for selling shoddy, malfunctioning but terribly expensive products. We are all being taken for fools by the corporations.I was stupidly brand loyal and bought a Whirlpool Duet front-load washer and dryer because we had to leave our perfectly good 28-yr-old Whirlpool washer when we sold our house. The first set of instruction is to pull the electric cord from a small hole in the back of the washer. No amount of pulling would budge the cord. Finally yanked with all my strength, heard a snapping sound and 12 of cord came out. Then no more pulling, yanking or tugging would produce another inch of cord. So I took off the top of the machine and found the cord tightly wedged in the fork of a plastic thing that looked like part of a stabilizer for the drum.A similar plastic thing on the other side was broken at the fork, the snapping sound I heard. Freed the cord with lots of effort, but it was still firmly stuck way down inside. Removed the back of the machine, found the cord stuck inside a circular thing with one tiny opening. Took lots of time and effort to free the cord from that, but it was still stuck. Finally managed to reach the plug, which was firmly anchored to the bottom of the frame with an orange lanyard. Cut the lanyard with a knife to finally free the cord. This had to be an act of sabotage by an assembly worker, as no way could the cord accidentally jam itself into 3 different places too small for the cord to slip in, and it certainly didnt tie itself to the bottom of the frame with a lanyard. The hour it took to free the cord was just the start of troubles with this machine. It did start and kind of tumbled clothes in an odd fashion, but when it went into spin cycle, it literally jumped all around the room, almost jumping out the door. The whole house shook and I feared the floor would collapse. That machine must weigh well over 100 lbs. even without water and clothes. Next load I tried delicate cycle which had a slow spin cycle.Same result, even worse. I had to wedge my body in the 10 space between washer and dryer and press down with all my 170 lbs. to keep the machine from doing serious damage to the dryer, walls and floor. I contacted seller, Lowes, and they said call Whirlpool. So I did, but no response. Before buying that machine, I read many horrible reviews of Whirlpool Duet machines, but I have only owned 2 washers since 1967, both Whirlpools, so I had strong but stupid brand loyalty.
I have the same pilot light problems as everybody else. I pulled the burner unit out, and cleaned, and blew everything out, and took a wire brush to the openings on the floor of the unit. I called customer service, and was asked about ventilation. I didnt mention that the heater still didnt work, even when the door to the tin water heater was removed, so venting is not the likely culprit. She authorized a repair that will likely do nothing from the comments I see.The real problem with their customer service, is the apparent stupidity of the computer system. She asked me for the model and ID number. I had to cut through the extra insulation blanked on the tank to get it. However, when I gave it to her, she then asked me if I was ** and if I live at **. If this information was already in the computer, why couldnt there be a search by my name and address, to get the model and serial number. Obviously, I had registered the water heater in the past. Isnt being able to get this information the reason to register in the first place? Now, I have to replace the extra insulation, all because of a stupid inability to create the necessary searches in their customer database. Yes, I could have written the numbers down, but why have the customer registration at all, if it isnt to be used for anything, other than data mining of the customer base.
Ive owned whirlpool appliances for forty years or more, and have been consistently pleased with them. My first washer and dryer lasted eighteen years while raising a family. Brand X lasted eight years with at least four repairs before we dumped the set. We moved and sold one set with the house, but my newest washer and dryer set is eleven years, and works fine. Ive had at least four ranges. We sold two of them with the houses, but theyve all been fine, just bought a snazzy new Whirlpool range as an upgrade. Im on my fourth Whirlpool refrigerator, but again we sold one with the house and we upgraded one perfectly good Whirlpool refrigerator to a bigger side by side with icemaker. Third whirlpool dishwasher. Weve moved a lot, leaving behind appliances and buying new ones. Sure, Whirlpool appliances break down, but they sell zillions of them, and you never hear about the zillions that never break down.
Just purchased Whirlpool top load large capacity washing machine with no agitator at Lowe’s three months ago. I sit at the kitchen table in my freshly washed exercise clothes and smell body odor. There were six exercise items in the load and supposedly enough soap. The load washed for 45 minutes last evening. Yard work clothes washed yesterday are not clean. I had to remove grass from the bottom of the tub. When I iron my smocks for work, since I work with animals, I pick pet hair off of them as I iron. Judging from other reviews, this torture won’t last long, before I need to replace this piece of junk. My last washer lasted 20 years. If it didnt leak water, it would still be running. Thanks Whirlpool, I guess the joke is on me!
My mom is 82. She purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator March 2013. Since her purchase, she has had to have numerous service calls. This was covered by her first yr. warranty. After the first yr., she purchased an extended warranty from Whirlpool. June 24th, 2014, her ice maker and freezer quit. My husband made numerous calls trying to get this fixed. He was switched back and forth from Whirlpool and Assurant. Assurant said it should be under Whirlpool and Whirlpool said Assurant. My mom felt that Whirlpool should have taken care of this problem. The refrigerator was a lemon. It was a French door style with bottom drawer freezer. We finally called the local dealer, whom she purchased it from, and he took it back. Gave her substantial credit toward another refrigerator, not Whirlpool! Very disappointed in Whirlpool... Will never purchase another appliance with this name!!!
Purchased a NEW Whirlpool side by side refrigerator (WRS965CIA) and it was delivered on 2-3-14 with a dent in the door. The retail store ordered a replacement door and this order was approved by Whirlpool. 4 months later, I still dont have the door. My 8 calls to the retail store say that Whirlpools Trade partner is not returning their calls or emails to get this resolved. My contact with Whirlpool was met with contact your Trade Partner. Vicious cycle and still no replacement door.
I purchased the French Door refrigerator only 7 months ago. It has been emitting a low pitched, loud, vibrating hum for days. I called the company and spoke with a well-trained representative who informed me that there needs to be a service call. When I mentioned that this did not indicate an acceptable situation for future dependability, I was pitched to purchase an extended warranty. Further… this company doesnt monitor Consumer Affairs. Quality and standing by a product are manufacturer qualities that were not evident during the call.
Cabrio washer - This was a huge disappointment, clothes not clean, sometimes still dry in middle even with small loads! Have had washer just over a year, second time it has quit working! This time it wont even give a code to why it wont spin out! Living on a budget, I cant afford such a shoddy product! Never again will I buy any product associated with whirlpool!
2010 upright Whirlpool freezer - Door is totally bubbled in rust. Warranty Plan not covered for this. Whirlpool Corp Serv. Dept said they are sorry but it is not a functional problem. Cost of repairs on 3-yr-old freezer that cost $600.00 would be $732.62. This freezer was rated CR Best Buy in Sept 2009 which was why I purchased it. I paid $81.00 for repair tech from Whirlpool today who could do nothing either. Whirlpool knows that this has been a problem as consumers have complained about this rust in Google, some saying they will never buy a Whirlpool product again. Same here!
I purchased my Whirlpool Double-Oven one year ago and couldnt wait to use my new oven. I was told it was so efficient because I could use the top oven for quick baking instead of heating the entire oven (plus I could set it at different temperature settings). About a month in, I cooked 2 pizzas side by side. The first one burnt to a crisp and the one right beside it was doughy on top and burnt on the bottom. Not thinking, I blamed the pizzas! I also blamed myself, thinking it was me not being used to the stove.A few weeks later, I baked cupcakes. About 15 minutes in, I smelled burning and the cupcakes were raw on top and burnt black on the bottom. I called Whirlpool and they sent a technician out and he replaced the circuit board/clock. Worked for a couple of weeks and then the burning began again. Called Whirlpool again - another technician came out and adjusted the temperature. Here I am again, had to call Whirlpool again. This stove has been so inconsistent and Im so tired of wasting food because of this stove. My 4-year old Whirlpool dryer also went out last week so needless to say, Im not very fond of Whirlpool right now! If you are planning on buying a Whirlpool product, buyer beware and I hope you have a lot of patience...
This dishwasher is the most quietest dishwasher we have ever bought. Cleans even the worst messes with ease. We love all the different modes for cleaning levels. Plus in addition the ability to adjust the racks for large capacity dishes. As well the adjustment to wash fine china and crystal. We just love it!
I have a refrigerator model WRT359SFYM00 that is 4 months old. It suddenly just stopped getting cold. Trying to contact Whirlpool warranty/service department has been a nightmare. Once I did get them they spent almost a week trying to locate someone in my area to service it. I was in constant contact with the phone support person, but they kept telling me its out of my hands a special unit was making calls to find a repair person. After almost a week they informed me they could not find anyone but if I could find someone to service it they would reimburse me (max $250 labor). I spent 5 minutes and 1 phone call and I found someone. They wasted a week bumbling around with wanton disregard for their customer. Their service after the sale is deplorable. They are staffed by people who answer calls but have no ability or authority to fix a problem. Worse yet, they kept telling me it was out of their hands. If not in their hands, then whose? I assure you I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance simply based on this warranty experience. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Shame on Whirlpool!
Refrigerator is only 4 years old and must be defrosted every 2 or 3 weeks as a thick sheet of ice forms in the bottom of the freezer. Also the appliance frequently emits loud cracking noises.
Whirlpool has a terrible customer service! I have an almost new washer broken and I had it repaired. The company is having the same issues in another model and yet, they would not offer to even refund the repair.
Purchased in Nov. 2013, by March 2014 noticed water leak on floor, after 8 service calls in 3 months it was deemed unrepairable By Whirlpool. Got a new fridge in June 2015, no cost to us, but have had 2 service calls already for the same problem. The first leak damaged our kitchen floor, and the ceramic tile that we have is no longer made so we have had to file an insurance claim on our homeowners to pay for repairs. I would never buy any Whirlpool product again, or buy from the local company we bought the original fridge from.
I have purchased many Whirlpool ranges for my apartment buildings that I own and operate. They never give me a problem with operation or length of service. I only have to replace them when a tenant does something dastardly to them. My husband and I remodeled our kitchen and we purchased one for our kitchen too!
I have a Cabrio washer and dryer and have had nothing but problems. The tub bearing is going out and the washer makes a horrible noise. Now I am getting error codes and the washer begins a cycle and just shuts down. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a Whirlpool appliance. The cost of the repair is not worth the hassle and I am going to have to replace it. They should be recalled by Whirlpool and replaced for free. I will never buy another Whirlpool.
I paid over $1,000.00 for a washer based upon previous experience with Whirlpool appliances. I am single, over 65, and use this machine infrequently, as compared to when I had children. The only thing Whirlpool is offering is another of their machines at a discounted price. I value principles more than dollars. I refuse to give them another $600+ as a reward for making junk which apparently should have been recalled. The part I need is not available any place Ive found online. And it completely controls the power to the machine. You cannot open the door, you cannot turn it on. I had two service calls to discover this part is not available.
16 months after purchase, the machine starts displaying F71 codes, 6 weeks later F70. After calling Whirlpool customer service number on the User Manual, we were told that the washer was out of warranty and there was nothing that Whirlpool was going to do for us. I have a reasonable expectation that a brand new $800 washing machine will operate for many, many, trouble free years, but finding an electronic failure that has been estimated at $400 to repair, 16 months after purchase, is simply and obviously unacceptable. This is clearly a defect in design and/or manufacturing.
My stove fits my needs as I’m looking to simplify my life and not have a behemoth with books and crannies to scrub and clean or polish. I’m looking to cook less, not more and this stove fits the bill just fine.
Amazing pice. Would recommend to anyone. The heat is great. The oven is amazing. I got this for my birthday and my kids were helping me to get it and I was so excited to receive it I was crying. Amazing machine, wish I had two. Would definitely buy again. I especially love how clean the oven top looks and how the knobs for the burners are easy to use.
We have a wtw5500xw2 washing machine we bought 03/2012. We can no longer use it. The machine would not spin or agitate so the clothes do not get clean or get the water out and after the cycle is done we have to wring them out after to be able to take them to the laundromat. So two repair companies and 3 months later we find out that it is the wiring harness that is the culprit. After a new motor and a shift actuator, we contacted Whirlpool only to be advised that the washing machine is out of warranty and that we are out of luck. If the company has a known issue about these wiring harness they should be looking into it and changing suppliers or offering to replace the wiring harness at a discount to its customers. I will not be buying a Whirlpool appliance ever again. I would recommend going with a Kenmore. I have had a Kenmore dryer that I got 19 yrs ago that we got used and only had to replace the heating element.
I bought a top of the line Whirlpool dryer that cost me over $1,000. Havent had it for a month and it requires a service call. Have to wait two weeks for service! Totally unacceptable. The dryer is JUNK and now I am stuck with it. Horrible company. Bought from Home Depot.
Purchased a Whirlpool Dishwasher in 2017 as part of a kitchen remodel. I have always had General Electric appliances, and shouldve never changed my brand. I had to have this dishwasher fixed a month after purchase (this shouldve been a clue that this was a lemon). Fast forward to two years, I know have to turn the power off to the dishwasher after 3 uses otherwise it stops running mid cycle and the re-set lights blinks. Ive had a repair person take the thing apart to try and find the problem (at the cost of $250) with no luck. The repair person contacted Whirlpool to see if they could help troubleshoot, the response he received was because it was no longer under warranty they wouldnt even answer his questions, hows that for customer service????
This piece of junk just broke down not even one year after the purchase. Every singe Whirlpool washing machine has broken one way or another. This one will set the wash time for 57 minutes, and exactly 24 minutes left in the cycler, you hear this big crash and then everything stops. Another dumb thing about this piece of crap is that when the problem happens, the POS keeps the lid locked so that you cant tell what the problem is. What morons would put a lock on the lid? Its not like someones going to take a jacuzzi bath!Restarted the POS again, and exactly 24 minutes left on the wash cycle, there was another crash. Both times, exactly 24 minutes. NEVER BUY FROM WHIRLPOOL!
WFW97HEDW, WGD95HEDW American made and equivalent to LG and Kenmore. Size fitted our space available. Price was a bit higher than the Korean models with similar or better features. We bought and returned three consecutive Whirlpool models from Sears. Though we never really got to put the dryers to the test, nor did they fail, the washers were of such a poor quality that they broke down within 1-2 weeks of installation. Eventually we switched to LG and have had no problems. When the Whirlpool fails it locks your clothes inside and to open and retrieve your clothes is just short of impossible. We really, really really wanted to buy the American made brand and we were willing to pay the premium to do so, but these washers were awful.
I purchased a whirlpool under counter oven - my main reason for not buying something cheap was the safety of my family - I chose the AKZM656 eye level oven. The stove is about two years old, but we do not use it that much. Two days ago my wife set the timer and placed a dish in for cooking; she then went outside to water the garden. About twenty minutes later she returned as something was burning- the oven reached a temperature of 350 degrees and would have burnt the whole kitchen down if she did not spot it. Now surely the oven should be designed to switch off if sensors fail? I reported this to Hirsch (Ballito) but they say they have no one servicing the Richards Bay area. I am not sure if this stove should be fixed as it is obviously not safe and makes me wonder how Whirlpool get safety standards passed on these items. Surely you expect better when buying a well-known whirlpool brand?
My $800 Whirlpool Duet Sport Electric Dryer quit working less than 4 years from purchase and needs a new electronic control board. My service tech called Whirlpool to confirm that this is the problem because replacing the thermal fuse did not solve the fact that my dryer wasnt working: Code F01. Diagnosing and repairing the dryer will cost me $375! I am deeply disappointed. I will definitely explore other brands before ever trusting a Whirlpool appliance because I know the company could have done more such as offering to cover or discount the $210 control board, because everyone I have talked with (friends, family, my appliance service company manager, Whirlpool customer service rep) agreed that this is a rare problem and that your dryers are engineered to work 10-12 years. However, as a company, Whirlpool gets an ** for customer service.
My fridge is less than a year old. Ive had issues with the part where the ice comes out to fill the trays. Now, I have no ice at all!! My product is less than a year old and this will be the third time Ive had to have someone out to fix it. I called corporate to ask them to stand by their product and ask them at what point they would just replace the whole fridge! The girl I spoke to never once said, Im sorry for your inconvenience! I now have to go without ice for a whole weekend and again wait around from 1-5 p.m. in Arizona with four kids to have ice!!! NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!!
Whirlpool Double wall-mounted Oven model#WOD51EC7AW05. Have had nothing but problems (at least 7 problems). The 1st one is a potential fire hazard. Porcelain/enamel shattered on bottom interior panel of BOTH ovens in less than 60 days (exposing underlying metal to rust). Cracked in an odd stress-pattern that indicates the metal expanded during heating, and the porcelain finish did not tolerate the expansion. The lower oven had only been used 2X before I noticed the fracture pattern. Obviously faulty design; a manufacturers defect. Whirlpool claims it is cosmetic damage and when porcelain eventually flakes off, they will send me touch-up paint. (If I dent the outside of an appliance with my wheelchair, thats cosmetic damage. Its a manufacturers defect if the damage happens during normal operation. The appliance damaged itself, not the user.)The preheat function does not work on either oven. The oven indicates it is 350-degrees, when it is actually 125-degrees. Repairman says this is normal; ignore the indicator and navigate by store-bought thermometers”. The temperature can vary 50 degrees on either side of the actual setting (thats a 100 degree range!). Between the faulty preheat and the wide range in temperature, it makes it very hard to bake bread or cake. The rest are annoying problems: The timer is a single “beep” (not even very loud), followed by another single beep every minute. This is not much help if you are folding laundry while the cookies bake. The windows have so many dots on them theyre not clear enough to see how the food is cooking (or read the store-bought thermometers) without opening the doors. The oven produces a lot of steam that fogs up the windows (Ive never had this happen, and Im past the half century point). The exhaust fan is loud and it blows hot air into the drawer under the oven (another potential fire hazard). Dont buy this oven. It has several design flaws and Whirlpool does not stand behind their product.
I bought it a year ago and the warranty is not even up and only in about a month the freezer door handle keeps falling off then the stainless steel which probably is fake is rusting too. They replace the handle and the door and the handle still keeps falling off and the doors are rusting again. My GE stainless steel dishwasher and stove are five years old and there is no rust on them. Whirlpool says it is cosmetic and that its not covered under the year warranty. I will never buy Whirlpool again. Awful customer service!
August 26th 2014 purchased a NG (NO GOOD actually natural gas) Whirlpool water heater from Lowes. Model No. N40561-403. Installed it and everything was fine until this morning August 29th 2014. The indicator light was out and so was the pilot. Tried to light it without success. Called Whirlpool and they are sending me a new controller that now needs to be installed. Called Lowes and they will not take it back. Wish I would have found this site prior to this costly fiasco. Waiting on part now and I will keep you informed as to my progress. I have a feeling this is going to be 2 days wasted and $367.00.
We purchased the Whirlpool Gold Series smooth top stove from Lowes in December of 2013. The stove is not even 2 years old and it doesnt work. Last September, I noticed a few times that while baking food in the oven, it was burnt after only 10 minutes, due to a runaway temperature. After that, the oven wouldnt heat up properly, it would take too long to bake anything because the temperature wouldnt reach the reading on the display. Then it just stopped baking or broiling all together with the error Feature unavailable. Weve had a serviceman out at least 3 times. Of course, the warrantys run out and its cost us close to $500 to keep fixing it, and two motherboards and a bottom element later, its still not fixed. They wanted to order 2 more parts at our expense, but we cant continue trying to fix this lemon. I will be shopping for another oven, and will never recommend Whirlpool to anyone.
This is the worst washing machine we have ever owned. We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set at Lowe’s in Loganville, GA on 04/11/2010. Today is 02/22/2013 and the transmission is shot in the washer. It began making an extremely loud and terrible noise during the rinse and spin cycle. We called a local and trusted appliance repairman, and after his diagnosis including estimate to repair the washer, it totaled over $525.00. This is a terrible washer. I will never ever buy a Whirlpool appliance again. Oh, forgot to mention we have purchased four (4) major appliances from Lowes over the past 2 1/2 years in addition to purchases for our plumbing business and wont do it again! Also, Whirlpool couldn’t care less and there is just one complaint after another for the exact same problem online.
Purchased this washer new 2015 for use in our cabin. Now 4 years later with very little use the motor has seized. Washer is useless. What happened to 20 years of almost daily use and still runs great. This washer is a very poor quality washer and has now failed. Please save your money and buy a different brand.
Weve owned this refrigerator for about 6 weeks now. It is a 23 cu. ft. model with a bottom freezer. It is working great, and we have no problems with temperature control in either the refrigerator or freezer sections.
We bought the refrigerator end of November 2017 but didnt start using till February 2018. March/April stopped working completely. Since it was on warranty, we got repaired. End of December stopped working completely again. Few days after the warranty expired. We got few Whirlpool products with our order in November. Washer was already repaired too. We will never buy Whirlpool again!
It took several delivery attempts to get a refrigerator without cosmetic flaw and it only lasted four years before Freon leak in evaporative system occurred. It would have cost more to repair than replace. Needless to say, I replaced it with another brand.
I have a Whirlpool Duet front loader. Sick of it since I bought it! Not enough water to wash & rinse clothes. After consulting sites on internet, husband decided to try adjusting part. He just took off the 3 screws & lifted top off. On the outside part that has a white plastic housing, he turned the longer screw 2 1/4 times clockwise. EUREKA! We have more water! You may need to start out adjusting 1 turn & work up till you see a water level you like. Just dont let the water come over the wide rubber water guard.
Whirlpool has been an absolute nightmare from day 1. We bought a brand new 50-gallon water heater from Lowes. It did not work. We went back to Lowes and were told to contact whirlpool. We contacted Whirlpool and were told to conduct a number of test and all test passed, so they said we needed a plumber to come look at it. Remind you that this water heater is brand new and has not worked since day 1. They said the plumber would cost $130 and they would pay for parts. Why am I having to pay when my water heater has never worked. Paid the money. Had them come. They replaced a part, did not work, replaced another and it did not work, so the plumber requested a new water heater. Whirlpool refused. What is the point of paying and they are not going to fix it.Whirlpool insisted it was our ventilation even though all test proved that was not the problem. So out of pocket again to fix the ventilation and it did not work. After 2 months of no hot water with a two-year old at home we had someone we know come look at it and fixed the main pipe. Whirlpool took my money and didnt fix my problem. HORRIBLE SERVICE.
In 2099, I purchased a Whirlpool Gold from Lowes. It has never cleaned my dishes, especially the pots and pans. My dishes also have a powder coating on them after various cleaning cycles that I have tried. I have tried every detergent available. The repairman suggested a detergent, which I already tried. He told me that the dishwasher uses only 1.9 gallons of water in total. That confirmed what I thought the problem was, not enough water! It is a design problem that cannot be fixed. I have bought Whirlpool for years but not in the future.
My 3 year old Whirlpool refrigerator costing $1285.86, needs a new motor and fan. Of course it died right after a trip to the grocery store. On a week temperatures were well into the 90 degree range. Needless to say my groceries had to be thrown out at a cost of an additional $250. How convenient that the refrigerator died 2 months after the 3 year protection plan ran out. I just spent $182.94 to have a repair person come and check out the refrigerator. I will need to spend another $170.00-$200.00 for the motor and fan once the parts come in, which can take up to another 10 days. Had to go out and buy a backup refrigerator that cost $562.38. Also had an issue with this refrigerator after a year and half with ice building up in the bottom of the freezer. Luckily we had the protection plan at that time, otherwise that would have cost us $157.58. The refrigerator is stainless steel and I have a terrible time keeping the rust off the front of it. At this point l guess all I can do is warn everyone I know to never buy a Whirlpool appliance if this is an indication of how they manufacture their products. So very disgusted with this refrigerator! Sad my old Frigidaire was close to 30 years old when the freezer just wasnt freezing well anymore. Thats why my new backup refrigerator is a Frigidaire and not a Whirlpool.
The machine Will Not Clean the Clothes. Had to Buy A Maytag Washer.
AquaLift Self-cleaning does not do the job as advertised. It does very little to clean the oven. Sitting-on-the-floor-in-front-of-the-oven scrubbing is what is needed to clean the oven.
I have automatic Whirlpool washing machine since 3 1/2 years I am using. Now 2 times electronic board came problem so how many times can change like this? Why they are manufacturing if they cannot solve this problems? Should not sell in the market. This all not coming free and need to struggle. Whirlpool products all very bad appliances.
Whirlpool Gold Series - I bought this dishwasher less than 2.5 years ago. The thing already broke. The motor needs to be replaced at a cost of about $250. The thing never did a good job anyway and often had to run it more than once to get dishes clean. I paid about $650 for the machine so I guess its just a throw-away appliance. Whirlpool makes complete junk. I will buy a different brand that is known to have long-lasting dishwashers. I guess you get what you pay for.
I bought model #W4TXNWFWQ at Lowes in February 2013. It had a one-year warranty. Five months after the warranty expired, the defrost timer went out. It cost $100 to fix the $400 refrigerator. Planned obsolescence or coincidence? Either way, its poor quality.
I bought a Whirlpool top load washer. In less than a month it had to be serviced by their recommended service repair. It has never worked properly. It malfunctions almost everytime it is used and takes at least an hour to wash even a small load. At first I thought I may have acquired an odd lemon. After talking with several friends who had bought the same Whirlpool model I found we all had the same complaints. My old machine could wash a king size comforter in 36 minutes... that was energy efficient.
A 12 year old built in double convection oven that has a retail cost of $4500.00 has its control pad discontinued. I cannot repair my investment. I spoke to the executive offices & they arrogantly told me that they only have to make parts for the length of the warranty. Suppose you had a 12 year old Honda that they discontinued a critical part would you feel swindled, I asked. We dont make cars was the response from the executive customer care agent. ARROGANCE How to destroy a company one customer at a time.
We bought this product and had only had it for a couple of weeks when I spilled soup on the open microwave door. My mistake, but I would think that might happen to other people once in a while. The soup leaked around the window gasket of the microwave and streaked the interior of the door. It also ran down into the door of the oven and streaked the interior of that door. No way to clean this up that I know of without taking the door apart. I think these gaskets should not allow liquid they leak into the inside of these doors. Whirlpool says its my problem. They call it a use and care issue. I think its a design issue.
We have had a Whirlpool hot water heater for 6 years and 14 days. Note the 14 days. It has been nothing but trouble and we have called the company repeatedly for help. It finally stopped working altogether 14 days after the warranty ran out. Thank you Whirlpool for nothing! It had a filter on the bottom of the heater that constantly had to be cleaned which was next to impossible. We had to buy a special brush to try to reach it. My husband had to take it apart several times a year and clean it to keep it running. Whirlpool should have replaced it within the first year but instead offered many suggestions about cleaning and etc. so they would not have to replace. Today it is out of my house for good and I would advise anyone reading this to beware! Horrible product!!!
Gas control not working. I have replaced the thermostat twice in three years. Now, the hot water tank pilot will not light. The igniter works; a new thermostat has been properly installed, and the pilot will not light. The gas is on, and the tank has functioned. I just want a new gas control.
I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine from Lowes 3 short years ago. Within the first year, it needed a new main board. Now just 2 years later, it needs another main board. It has never worked correctly. I have purchased another washer from another manufacturer and will never buy a Whirlpool product again and neither will anyone I talk with about this. Dont buy Whirlpool products!!
I have called Whirlpool six times to request a replacement for a broken deli drawer in my refrigerator. I was told to throw everything away from the unit, since the whole assembly would come complete in the mail. First call: Ordered the replacement: what came was a glass shelf without a drawer or gliders and hardware. Second call: requested the drawer and remaining parts. Third call: only received the plastic drawer without any means of installing it. Fourth call: received only one side glider, again without hardware to install. Fifth call: requested a supervisor (Kimberly) who took the order for the remaining glider and all hardware. Received second glider and (1) screw when two are needed.Sixth call: asked rep Brigitte for a supervisor and was not connected. Given the run around and told that the rep spoke with a supervisor for me and would send out a repairman to assemble the unit. I just need the missing screw. I have spent a lot of time on the phone trying to get what I need from Whirlpool and do not have time to wait for a service repairman to come out. I just cannot fathom how that many calls - with me being patient and calm - cannot produce the required items. Horrible.
I purchased all new Whirlpool appliances for my kitchen from Lowes about 5 years ago. The dishwasher was leaking water onto my hardwood floors after about a year. I figured out that the seal was pulling away on the lower left corner. I fixed that myself. It cleaned pretty well for about 3 years. Now its not cleaning at all. I took the lower spray arm off to try to clean it. Almost all of the holes are clogged with debris. (I clean the filter at least once a week.) I went ahead and ordered a new sprayer arm, maybe that will help.As for the rest of the appliances... After about 6 months, the freezer started filling up with water that then froze on the bottom and allowed water to pour onto the floor. The microwave handled broke after about a month. (They did send me a replacement handle.) The knobs on the stove are starting to peel. One of the knobs wont stay on, so I keep it in the drawer next to the stove. Overall, I am very disappointed in all of the appliances. This will be the last time I buy Whirlpool.
This Whirlpool refrigerator/freezer Model W10314956B was purchased from Lowes on June 29, 2012. Recently noticed rust appearing under ice/water dispenser tray. Requested warranty service, but was told the problem was considered DUE TO WEAR & TEAR! TOTAL COP-OUT! There are NO MOVING PARTS in this area; how can there be WEAR and TEAR? To my mind, this can only be charged as SHODDY MANUFACTURING or INADEQUATE QUALITY CONTROL by the manufacturer. This appliance is only 6 1/2 years old! Consumers expect refrigerators to last much longer than that. The only possible cause for this problem is as stated above: poor quality control by the manufacturing plant, and I completely discount being told the problem was due to WEAR and TEAR! I will think long and hard before I ever even CONSIDER purchasing another Whirlpool product, and maybe YOU SHOULD TOO!One issue that keeps gnawing at me is HOW, since this is supposed to be a STAINLESS STEEL refrigerator, can it rust? The best answer I found on Google was that its likely due to insufficient chromium in the mixture of metals used to make stainless steel. To me this continues to point to shoddy workmanship at the manufacturing plant. I have pictures of the problem, but for some reason Im unable to copy them to this complaint. Probably because Whirlpool is afraid of pictures that confirm their shoddy craftsmanship!
My Whirlpool range, was purchased 14 years ago. It was fine until 2 months ago. I was preparing a meal for a dinner party and the oven went from low baking into Clean mode. (This cant be done by accident, it is many step process to go into clean mode) Locking the door! When I realized what was happening I immediately turned the breaker off but we still could not open the range door. Since the oven had my potato casserole and my Teflon coated cookie sheets inside it started to emit a toxic smell choking all of us inside the house. The unit was too hot to touch so my husband and brother-in-law finally donned gloves and got the range outside. I called Whirlpool the next morning and got the run around as to what type of range it was Kenmore/Whirlpool. Whirlpool finally sent someone out to look at the range and their determination was it caught on fire and melted! The company will not do anything about the unit or all the damage it cause because the range is over 10 years old. But they did not tell me this until I had spent weeks getting estimates and gathering information for them. I TOLD THEM DURING THE INITIAL CALL THE RANGE WAS 14 YEARS OLD. I TOLD THEM THE EXACT DATE IT WAS PURCHASED. Whirlpool sent me a letter from their Claims Resolution Department saying my DISHWASHER will not be covered and misspelling my last name. I have tried to call the person ** at least 25 times and she never answers the phone, only get her voicemail. I just wanted to tell them I was a little concerned about their accuracy with the typing of the name and product..... How complete could the investigation have been if they didnt even get the product correct. The smoke/smell ruined my microwave and ceiling fan. We had to paint the ceiling, redo wallpaper and professionally clean all the carpets and drapes on my first floor (we had just remodeled our kitchen last May so this was an expensive redo not in the budget. Not to mention the cost of a new range). I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool again. And I want to spread the word about the possibility of your range having the same problem.
Whirlpool Corp. stands behind its products. Bought the Cabrio Washer in June 2011. Lid cracked in October 2012 and was not covered under the Lowes extended warranty because they called it a wear item. However, our local Lowes store in Avondale, PA replaced it for us. In December 2013, the lid cracked again. I called Whirlpool customer service and they couldnt do anything. I called the Whirlpool corporate headquarters and was directed to a member of their executive staff. After explaining my situation, Whirlpool agreed to send me a new door free of charge and even pay to have it installed (which I told them I can do myself). Aside from the cracking of two doors, this washer is an exceptional unit. Its good to see Whirlpool stands behind its products this way, outside of the warranty period. I would guess that they always hear a lot of whining and complaining, but it seems if you explain things logically, people listen and are willing to help.
I lodged a complaint of Microwave problem on 05/11/2011, and up to this date (18/11/2011), I am still waiting for the problem to be solved. I have a 1 year old baby. We cook food for him in it. Due to the microwave not working, he is suffering.
After seven long years of one issue after another, about once a year replacing one part after another, draining the unit to replace parts, waking up to cold water, I finally gave up and replaced this Whirlpool water heater, model model # FD1H4040T3ENOV unit. Never to buy a Whirlpool unit again. Thanks for the memories.
We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 washer based off the salesmans recommendation (not very happy about this). After the warranty ran out, every time in the spin cycle, it makes a sound similar to a piece of metal banging around inside the cylinder during the cycle. Our friends have told us they had a similar experience and for their machine, they found out the bearings were going out. Weve had this machine a total of 3 years. I doubt we ever buy another item from HH Gregg plus will do our investigation on Consumer Buyers digest before we toss any more money out for a washing machine.
Purchased a house and old owners left an almost new one with house. Thing does not clean even minor soiled cloths. Plan on buying new machine directly and it will not be a GE or Whirlpool. I can see why they were willing to leave the new washer. I left a 15-year old Maytag at my old residence (wish I had it back).
GB2SHDXTS02 - Bought the Unit and an additional 4 yr protection plan. Shortly after the plan expired the plastic drip pan cracked and spilled water all over the laminate floor. It is still bucked from the water. Repairman came out and confirmed the crack, but we were without the refrig for a couple of weeks. Now the top doesnt cool, but the freezer does. Problem probably the defrost system, the fan, the control assy, or the thermistor, but I am too old to fix it myself. My fault for not checking ratings before I bought, but built in obsolescence is obvious here. Whirlpool used to be a good company, but I will never or will my family ever buy another appliance from them.
I purchased this washer from Lowes 5 months ago. I did not purchase a store warranty. Started having problems 60 days later. I have to deal with a Whirlpool rep. The company is 150 miles away. They have been to my home 3 times to resolve the issue. They replaced an air trap. The problem... my clothes still wont spin dry!!!
Whirlpool is not what it was before. I got this set with new house... They are very poor construction. They are not even close what I have before the LG. After 6 months I begin to have problems with the dryer... Technician come two time to fix the problems. Quality of washing is OK though... That going to be the last time I got Whirlpool products. For sure.
I purchased a #Whirlpool; 4.3 cu. ft. Mini Refrigerator Stainless Steel BC-127B from @Target. There was a delay putting it into service (6 mos), so the Target store warranty was expired. The unit remained in its factory shipped packaging until put in service, so nothing out of the ordinary there. After barely two weeks of use, the compressor died. I followed all instructions (including waiting 8-10 weeks) from Whirlpool, but still have not received a refund or been given any information beyond we escalated it to our warranty team but havent heard back yet. The unit was a poorly made piece of junk in other respects as well. There are dozens of complaints about precisely this - defective units - on any site. Do not be fooled by the dishonest way that #Targets website lists reviews. Dig deeper.
Hot water heater goes out. Try to relight it as instructed. Pilot light goes out as soon as I release pressure. Call tech support. After a 10min hold time, I was instructed to rest unit, wait 10 to 15 min and try again. Did not work. Called back and was told it was the thermopile. Had it shipped and replaced at $45.00. Still did not work. Was instructed to go thru the same process of lighting it, still did not work. Then I was given a ref# and was told that my PARTS was warranty and not labor. Okay now one time I was told I WILL BE CHARGED WITH A DIAGNOSTIC FEE OF $99.00 and still no hot water. Next step LAWYER.
Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load Washer Model: WTW7800XWO purchased at Lowes 8/26/2010. The lid was broken at the hinge in less than a year and was replaced under factory warranty. Lid falls down and pinches fingers. The second lid broke in the same location in less than a year. Lid falls down and strikes the eye. I’m speaking with repair technicians and researching complaints on this product. It appears to be a design defect that is not being addressed by the manufacturer.
I updated appliances in new house, but didnt realize the builder would choose the smaller side by side frigidaire. Could use a larger freezer space, also would like a ice maker that cut off when bucket is full. Overall I love Whirlpool appliances.
Wife and I bought a WRF990SLAM00 fridge in 5/2013. Seemed like the nicest model Lowes had at the time. The first one delivered had problems: it wouldnt stand level or seal properly, and had to be replaced. Another unit was delivered a few days later. This one - the same model - worked very nicely, for a year and a half. A few days ago, it got loud. My wife noticed in the freezer, some things were beginning to thaw. We called Whirlpool, who said, Oh, its over a year, and youre out of warranty. Sorry! Ok, so they suck. After we had a technician examine the freezer, he suggested, This is something Whirlpool needs to address. It wasnt the first (or fourth) problem with this fridge that hes seen. Called Whirlpool again, this time to gripe. Sorry, youre more than a year, so no warranty BUT, well sell you a service contract for $330! Hows that sound? It sounds like Whirlpool just disqualified themselves from ever getting their hands on another dollar from my family. Theres too many other companies who DONT treat their customers like garbage.
I have just had one of the worst experiences with any appliance warranty repair service of my life. I rarely complain but strongly feel the company needs to make some changes. They have no repair folks less than 50 miles away from the dealer (and my home). Their refrigerator was sold to me with the understanding that such a service was available as part of the purchase price. Ha! The repairman referred wiggled out of the time assigned to him. Another repair referral will take weeks. The unit is a piece of junk and is malfunctioning in less than a year. When, and if, any repair person comes to my home they will find it in the garage with the rest of my junk.
Ive always had a Whirlpool washing machine and it has been extremely dependable. I have not had any problems with my Whirlpool washer. A Whirlpool has came a long ways with their pricing. It was very affordable for somebody like me and I cant afford a lot but I could afford this. I was very pleased with my purchase and with the product. They havent let me down so far.
I bought the french door refrigerator Sept 2014. Recently the change filter light came on so I bought the filter. I read the instructions and then when I went to install it, the filter door would only open about 10%. I called Whirlpool and explained it was obviously a manufacturing error. They didnt care. Out of warranty. Everyone can make a mistake but when you wont own up to it and take care of it, that defines your character or lack of it. I think I will video the whole thing and put it on YouTube.
Has multiple wash Cycles. Big enough to wash a comforter. Has a delay setting so I can set it 8 hours in advance. Easy to load, easy to add the wash ingredients. Its a top load so its easy to get everything in and out.
We made a major appliance purchases on July 1, 2010 of a Front Loading Washer and Stackable Dryer. The dryer required servicing at 11 months with was was covered but it required a major service for a broken motor control board. This has nothing to do with regular usage. The cost to repair is over half the total cost of the appliance. This is unacceptable on a 15-month old washer. Whirlpool would not stand behind their product or service. I had to purchase their Repair Plus 1 program to get it fixed. What a racket!
I am a senior who has not used the Whirlpool Range installed by the builder in 2007 very much. First of all, I did not like the way the covered jets hid the lighted jets when they were turned on low. Then about 8 months ago, I smelled gas and no one had used the range. I checked the knobs and one was turned slightly without any gas lit. I know that for years the companies were required to have push-in knob before you could turn them for safety reasons (especially children). These knobs barely push in before turning so that they can easily be accidentally brushed against and leak gas, which is exactly what happened to me again today. My daughter was visiting. Neither of us had used the range and when she left, I sat in my living room and smelled gas. I immediately checked the range and the small front jet was turned slightly on. The odor was so strong that I know it had to have been on for some time. Its been an hour and Im still airing out the house. I have used gas ranges for over fifty years and never had a problem such as this. Im thankful that I do not have issues with my sense of smell. Otherwise, I would not be sitting here writing this.
This Whirlpool is great with a side by side refrigerator and freezer. I love the ice maker and water on the freezer side door. The refrigerator keeps my veggies and fruit fresh and crisp. Has a water filter purification that makes the water taste like mountain spring water.
After 1 year, my fridges plastic interior wall/liner started cracking everywhere. One crack is right across the entire back wall; other smaller cracks are on the sides and back. Three fridge shelves literally fell apart: pieces fell off! The glue came undone on the sides of the shelf that hold the glass in. Pieces of the shelf itself were falling out of the fridge. The microwave door has plastic trim around the glass on the door, and it is cracking also. It seems that anything that was made Whirlpool and is plastic is cracking and/or disintegrating. Sears caulked the cracks in the fridge and is replacing the shelves, but nothing is being done about the microwave. Whirlpool said, Too bad. Go to Sears. We may have made the product, but Sears is responsible. And Sears is saying Too bad; weve done all we can.
Whirlpool Cabrio 4.3-cu ft High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer - I wanted to buy American. My Sears front loader (I had for 13 years) died and I couldnt get someone from Sears here to fix it. So I bought this Whirlpool from Lowes 4/20/15. I want to be able to wash sheets, towels, clothing and sometimes a blanket or a sleeping bag. I re-use my washer water for the garden and use no chemicals or fragrance in my washer soap. When I bought this, my washer had died. I was kinda desperate to buy a new washer. I went to Best Buy and Home Depot. There were ads all over Lowes advertising: Same Day Free Delivery + Installation. While there was no one in the Appliance department, I went to track someone down so I could pay and get out of there. I was told that it would take 10 days to get any of the washers I was interested. I didnt have 10 days, so I called my appliance repairman and he came to get the washer and install it. The deal breaker is that this machine vibrates the clothes clean - not water, so the fabrics are trashed and the sheets get all tied up. I had the factory repairman come and he told me you cant do comforters, more than a sheet or towels in this washer because its energy efficient! I should take my towels and sheets to a commercial place!! I called Whirlpool and wanted to exchange for another and they were not at all agreeable. No one else complains. Even after I looked on the internet for reviews on this machine 250 out of 350 had the same complaints as I did. I cant even donate this to a homeless or animal shelter if they dont suggest you wash sheets and towels in it!!! This rule was nowhere in the literature and the info on the top door doesnt say that either! Imagine my dissatisfaction!!! What homeowner doesnt wash towels and sheets???
This new Whirlpool washer hasnt worked from day one and the company wont do anything, they wont even answer me, I will never buy one again, all the same problems everyone else is having, Im just waiting for a lawsuit.
When I first bought this machine I loved the big tub, but I was concerned that there was no agitator. It confuses me how clothes can get clean if there is nothing to rub them again. Even in the olden days they rub clothes against a board. Well my concern is valid and I believe the washing machine industry needs to go back to the old model, as this new version does not work. Here are all the problems: 1) The machine judges how much water to put in. This doesnt work. I follow the directions and outline the perimeter and dont overload, yet still it just barely puts in enough water to make the clothes wet. Im all for conserving the environment, but enough water needs to be provided to actually get the clothes clean. I would like to be the judge of how much water should be used, so I would like to be able to tell the machine if it is a small, medium or large load. I do believe that the lack of enough water is why the clothes do not come out as clean as they should and why they end up smelling (see #4). 2) There is no agitator, so there is really nothing available to help clean the clothes. Spinning them around like a maniac is not enough, which leads me to the next problem. 3) The clothes come out twisted terribly and then many times come out of the dryer wrinkled because of how hard they were twisted. I tried to select a less harsh spin cycle, but then the clothes are too wet to put in the dryer. There is no happy medium.4) Biggest problem to date: Our clothes/towels have all started smelling. You know that smell when you leave your clothes in the washer too long (like two days) and then put them in the dryer? Its that smell. The clothes/towels dont smell when you immediately take them out, but they do smell at any bit of moisture. When I dry myself off after the shower, I notice the newly washed bath towel smells like a wet dog. I have used the pods, liquid detergent and powder. I dont remember having the smell problem when I first bought the machine and used powder, so I just returned to using powder today. (Ive even tried doubling up on the pods, but the clothes still smell.)This leads me to problem number 5: When using powder in this machine, the machine does not empty the powder container completely, and so the clothes do not get the required amount of detergent. Often there are clumps left over in the powder dispenser, but not always. (This is what led me to go to the pods and liquid detergent in the first place.) But at least with powder (I use Gain) my towels dont stink after the first time I used them.I wouldnt recommend this machine. I really researched machines before I purchased this one, but they all had bad reviews, so how do you pick? And I never look at the good reviews because we all know so many people are paid to rave about products they know nothing about, or it is a company employee writing the review. This machine is a huge disappointment. I am going to try adding a rinse cycle like a previous reviewer suggested. Maybe the extra water will help with the smell. Of course this is not good for the environment though, so this whole way of making washing machines with no agitator and limiting water defeats the energy efficient goal.
Needed a washer right away and have had Whirlpool before. Simple & easy to use. Not confusing to the average person or teenager for that matter. Reliability from Whirlpool is excellent. I have had many products from them and have enjoyed them all. They have been quite reliable over the last 9 years. They are out of date but they work. Not a lot of bells and whistles but still nice. They are both full size and have enough options for me. I am still happy with the pair and would purchase again if needed in the future. Price was good at the time as I cannot see spending $1K on them. Not always the more expensive is a good idea either.
Whirlpool WRS965CIAM - Consumer beware is what weve learned. Whirlpool has apparently not monitored the hundreds of complaints about this particular refrigerator model. Its sleek and pretty and has a ton of features and I was very excited about purchasing it. We havent moved into our home yet, but turned the refrig on the next weekend after closing, started painting rooms, even had some nice ice water. I came back next day to a very large amount of water all over my hardwood floors. We are talking bath towels. Who would know you are supposed to call Whirlpool directly? We sure didnt. We called Hart Appliances, where we purchased it from. They gave us a number to call for service on Monday. The repair guy came, didnt have what he needed, so he came back later in the afternoon and fixed it, until we came back next morning and the floor was again flooded... Again, we are talking bath towels. I called them back and was told it needed a part, that took 4 days to come. Its here today but they are not coming until Monday to fix. Customer service at Whirlpool has no record of calling out a serviceman. They wont have info until problem is fixed. According to folks on the internet sites, that could be months or never! Okay, ladies... am I ever going to trust that this refrig will ever be fixed? I wont dare go away for a weekend without fear it will leak all over my floors and ruin them. We were going to purchase a chest freezer and small full fridge for drinks and overflow to keep in the garage. Instead, thats where this fridge will end up. Expensive lesson learned. Whirlpool doesnt replace brand new, out of the box, defective refrigerator. Whirlpool also doesnt admit there are complaints out there... Customer service person told me she had no record of complaints... I said when we get off the phone... GOOGLE WRS965CIAM and you will be amazed. My next complaint is going to Consumer Reports. We bought the magazine and followed the advice. Id like to think we just got a lemon, but there are too many complaints out there for that to be the case!
We purchased a top loader Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washer and within a few short months noticed a mildew-like smell emanating from it. This is DESPITE the fact that we leave the top up the entire time that the machine is not in use, we use hydrogen peroxide and ammonia in our loads of laundry in order to kill any mold present and my husband painstakingly hand dries the interior of the drum after each load of laundry. He also puts hydrogen peroxide in the fabric softener dispenser in an effort to kill the mold/mildew. None of this has helped to mitigate the ongoing mildew/mold odor. We have run across other online reviews which suggest that the Cabrio does not fully drain the water in the washer leading to the potential for the development of mold and mildew. This is very upsetting as we paid a lot of money for the Cabrio and had high hopes for it.
I purchased a 29 cu ft Whirlpool French Door refrigerator (WRF990SLAM) Feb, of 2013 from Lowes and have had nothing but problems since I purchased it. First, I noticed that the fridge sounded louder than normal. Then a few months later, ice started building up in back of the fridge. Then the most craziest thing ever started happening, the water dispenser started randomly shooting out water. Lastly, the ice maker takes forever to make ice. Still to this day, Whirlpool has yet to fix the problem. Funny that the technician said that theyve received a lot of complaints regarding the same issue for this model...so, I say you should be able to fix it then or replace my fridge. I have a 2yr extended warranty which states if they cannot fix my fridge after 3 attempts then they have to replace it. They refuse to honor that. Whirlpool and Lowes are full of crap!!! Whirlpool doesnt care at all that their products are crappy and their service is bad. They sent me a survey asking how do I like my product and I informed them of my issues and they sent me a response to purchase an extended warranty. Now, if they really reviewed the surveys, they would see that I have an extended warranty for 2yrs but regardless of that what about the issues Im having with my fridge? Do you not see my comments? If you didnt care you shouldnt even bother asking. Lowes pretended to care and made me believe they were going to replace my fridge but then sided with Whirlpool and said that they have to make 3 unsuccessful attempts to fix the fridge but each attempt has to be 30 days apart. Thats a bunch of crap because its been 6 months and my fridge still has not been fixed or replaced!! I have a Samsung side by side that I bought a year before Whirlpool and never had a problem with it. I bought it from Home Depot also, along with a stove microwave and dishwasher. I will be sticking with Samsung and Home Depot from now on!
The electric Whirlpool double oven range seemed like a good choice for a single person. I bought it in 2016 around the same time I had some personal setbacks. After finding my emotional equilibrium I decided to return to my much loved baking. While I have no other complaints on this range the ovens are a problem for baking. The digital oven temperature readout doesnt reflect temperature fluctuations in the ovens. Once you enter your desired baking temp the readout never changes even after you open and close the oven door say to take out cookies. Given some of my poor results I suspect even when Im not opening and closing the oven door the temperature is not maintained. I was going to get an oven thermometer but the user manual says it wont reflect an accurate temperature due to way the elements cycle to provide a consistent temperature. Ha! If you want to bake this is not the range for you. My inconsistent results and too often wasted ingredients frustrate me no end.
Very unhappy all the way around with Whirlpool. The first refrigerator shipped had to be replaced, I do not remember the original problem, just the ordeal involved. The replacement had to have the computer board replaced twice, the icemaker stopped working after a few months, the freezer door does not seal properly. And now, after less than 3 years, the drain is clogged. After researching, come to find out this is a common problem and has resulted in many water damaged wood floors, including my own. Never Whirlpool again. There are much better brands on the market today with better price points. I highly recommend staying away from Whirlpool.
In July 2018 I purchased a coin operated commercial front load 27 in washer and dryer. It was placed in and used in a six unit apartment building occupied by 8 long term adults. Prior washers and dryers had been operational for years with minor repairs at times. In June of 2019 the interior cement center balance on the top of the washer drum broke with resulting damage to screws securing the center balance and potentially other unknown parts. This was reported to Whirlpool customer Care service and they referred me to one of their a repair services. The repair service in about early August repaired the washer. In late September 2019 the cement balance broke a second time and this was again reported to Whirlpool service who requested I notify their recommended repair service. On inspecting the washer the repair service stated the entire washer was required to be rebuilt. The labor for installation of would cost me $1,125 with Whirlpool providing the parts under their warranty. The $1,125 labor cost was just under what I paid for a new coin operated front load washer. I reported this to Whirlpool whose supervising staff, without any inspection of damaged washer as to determine whether the washer was fit for its purpose when sold as a commercial washer, rejected any replacement of the less one year old washer and insisted they would only pay for the parts and I would have to pay for the labor, particularly when the both the cost of the replacement parts and the labor would be substantially in excess of a new machine. Due to time and effort constraints the problem was resolved by simply dumping the defective washer and purchasing a new commercial front load washer from a more responsible company.
I purchased a high-end Whirlpool dishwasher (WDT710PAYM) a few months ago thinking I was making a wise upgrade. Poor design and it wont dry dishes or properly wash utensils when theyre placed in the utensil rack on the door panel. The unit heavily condenses after using heat dry mode and large water droplets completely cover the top of the inside cabinet. Eventually, they all fall down into the dishes and you now have wet dishes again. The Whirlpool tech’s response was to scratch the cabinet plastic with a scratchy pad, smear rinse aid over the plastic cabinet and that should stop droplets from forming. Whirlpool’s customer service told me they shouldve never told me that and what I should do is be there during the drying cycle and open the cabinet door to let the steam out. This is completely ludicrous. Dont walk but run away from Whirlpool products.
My wife and I purchased the Whirlpool calypso washer and dryers and have been regretting ever purchasing a Whirlpool product. Not more than a year and a half after spending thousands of dollars on their products the troubles started. I called the company and they sent someone out to look at it for repair. He vacuumed out the lines and kept restarting it over and over and eventually it started working again and they charged a hundred dollars and something and said there most likely be more problems since they have many calls on this issue. Sure enough it started again and just kept retrying it over and over to get it to work again as well as vacuumed the lines again like he did. Now its at the point it will not work no matter what. It just keeps flashing LD and shuts down. So I did a online search for other consumers having the same problem and was shocked by the amount of the same problem with others (search this model flashing LD and you will see for yourself). When I contacted Whirlpool they played dumb and lied right thru their teeth saying they have no issues with this model and refused to do anything. I have since learned there has been court cases where the courts ruled against them saying that it was defective and had to notify consumers which they never did. Even when the repairman came out nothing was said. I have since learned that all they did was changed the name to a different model which is having the same problem (no kidding!!) and continued to rip the public off in the name of CORPORATE Greed!!!!! I advise everybody never to purchase a Whirlpool product ever again and maybe we can bankrupt them and put them out of business where they belong. All the customer service agents deserve to be unemployed and suffering after long waits on the phone and then lying straight face to the consumers. Pure evil!!!! We all have to stick together and bring these criminals down. How can they say we have no issues when a simple search of Whirlpool Calypso problems with draining and flashing LD and shutting down. There are thousands of people complaining and no action is done. Shame on these people and their souls are lost forever. Never buy a Whirlpool product and tell everybody you know to stay away! They should have their ** and/or ** cut off and have to suffer the same way the struggling consumers are after scrounging up thousands of dollars for a 200-pound metal paper weight that aint worth a damn!!!!
I like the top and the stainless steel finish - its electric and so the inside is a pain to clean. Flat top - burners heat well/oven gets up to temp fast. Cleaning the outside isnt difficult, I use Bar Keepers Friend on the SS and Wegmans on the flat top - for the back black splash Mrs. Meyers - so its 3 products but its also 3 minutes. I live alone and so use is minimal as well. Im not sure Id like it in a busy house with kids.
This washing machine (Whirlpool Cabrio) is the worst piece of machinery I have ever purchased. We have had to make numerous expensive repairs and now its broken again. Rather than pay $400.00 to repair it yet again we have decided to buy a new one. Definitely not a Whirlpool.
We purchased this dishwasher (Gold Dishwasher WDF60SADB) because of its low 49-decibel rating. It goes over 60 decibels regularly and occasionally up to 70 during operation (not including drain noises which cannot be controlled by the dishwasher). We used a tablet app to confirm. Decibels are not linear, they are exponential. 70 decibels is what your average shower or dishwasher sounds like. 50 is about as quiet as a refrigerator. You have to talk over this dishwasher. And yes there was a big price difference between it and Whirlpools next loudest rated washer.Whirlpools customer service says they will not replace or repair based on sound ever, only for functional failure. Bottom line, dont pay any attention to Whirlpool sound ratings. They dont stand by them and do not consider gross overages a defect. Fortunately the retailer (Lowes) does stand by what they sell and will trade for any other machine by any other manufacturer. We have only good things to say about Lowes in this process. This machine arrived Wednesday, and we pick a replacement Sunday. It will not be a Whirlpool. I will never buy a Whirlpool anything again. We said it will do X but we dont care if a brand new one wont is no way to do business.
Our refrigerator is only 18 months old, a Whirlpool Gold gx5htxvyo5. It was sold to us believing it was stainless steel. There is no way scratches come from nowhere. We have a Whirlpool dishwasher and stove in stainless steel. You cant compare how much better they are. Im very dissatisfied. Wed like to have new doors. Something is very wrong with the finish on these doors.
My husband and I purchased a Gold Series, French Door refrigerator/freezer in 2012. Everything was fine until our icemaker took a dump a few weeks ago. It had to be replaced. Taking time off from work to meet the repairman with that repair was an inconvenience but it was only magnified when we were told he would call us an hour before the repair, which never happened. We were given the usual 4 to 5 hour window in which we could expect a service call, which is the standard these days. But I had to rush home when he called because we never got that courtesy call an hour before. The repair, as frustrating as the situation was, was made and we thought that would be end of that for a while.Things were fine until today when I discovered puddles of water on our wood floor as I was leaving for work. While mopping things up with a paper towel and trying to determine what the problem was, I discovered a frozen puddle of ice on the floor of the freezer when I pulled it out. This situation, obviously, was more urgent than the last one we had a few weeks prior so we were hoping for a bit more than the Well have someone come out on the 20th response I was given. It was only after jumping through hoops like a trained monkey at the circus and raising my voice a few times out of frustration, did we get a call from the actual repairman who said he would be out within a couple of hours.By his own admission, the small rubber seal the repairman replaced somewhere in the refrigerator, was known by the manufacturer to be an inferior part. He told us they are well aware of the problems caused by this inferior seal and that they eventually need to be replaced with one that is of better quality. Apparently, its cheaper for them to use the inferior one, and they choose to disregard the inconvenience, not to mention the potential damage that could be caused to a persons home because of it.We have a great many concerns on a great many levels surrounding this product and the way we were treated as paying, extended warranty consumers. This refrigerator was a major purchase for us. We placed our confidence in a company and a product we thought we could trust; not to mention making the assumption that if we paid good money for an extended warranty, a problem like this most recent one would meet with more of an eager attempt at getting us the help we needed without having to become as insistent and frustrated as we were forced to be.How disappointing to discover that spending over $2,000 on a major purchase like this and then being told we would have to wait 3 to 5 days for a repair. Having to take time off from work, or being told to wait for up to 5 days for any sort of help to replace a small rubber seal, known to be of inferior quality, that was replaced in 10 minutes is absurd. Think twice before spending hard-earned money on this product!! The tragic lesson, however, in all of this is the verbal confirmation by the repairman that just about all manufacturers are the same when it comes to corporations trying to save $$$ and blowing off the inconvenience and expense of their customers.
The space could be laid out a little better. The flimsy shelf is not real stable for foods or ice tray. Where the shelf locks into the side wall is not deep enough to stabilize the shelf itself. The flat indentations in the bottom, where they meet the front, have an edge that makes properly cleaning the freezer a bit difficult.
I have been married for 43 years and started my marriage with a Kenmore Washer and Dryer. That was because my mother, aunt, and grandmother all had Kenmore Washers and Dryers. Kenmore was made by Whirlpool. In 43 years I have gone through two sets of Kenmore Washers and Dryers, and one set of Whirlpool Washer and Dryer. I have always been very pleased with your product and have never considered buying anything else. However, last year we bought a new Whirlpool washer and dryer. I have no complaints about the dryer, but this washer is a piece of **! It is a cabrio top-loading high efficiency low-water washer. What idiot came up with this idea? Tonight I am once again having to divide my washer load and run them for at least a second time. This is not cost effective!!! This sprinkling with water and sucking it out doesnt work. Not to mention that since we have gotten these wonderful energy saving appliances our electric bill has increased instead of decreasing. You need to make a washing machine with a wash tub and agitator like you use too.
We purchased a Whirlpool (gas) range with double oven, in April of this year. We found that the upper oven over heats, on the right side, and therefore burns or bakes unevenly. The repair company will be out for the fourth time tomorrow. They have been very nice to deal with, but really have not been able to repair or come up with any definitive plan of repair action.
Whirlpool Gas Water heater purchased from Lowes in 2012. Have replaced two thermal couples and three gas control valves. Will not stay lit! Problems began within six months of purchase. Third gas control valve quit functioning today and Im on my way to Home Depot to purchase a Rheem...Im done with Whirlpool!
I purchased the Whirlpool Duet washing machine October 2010. When I first got the washing machine, it shook the house (new stick built house) when it was on the spin cycle. They had a repair man come out to tell me that there was nothing wrong with it, it was fine as it was. We thought it was ridiculous, but we are young and didnt know better. He also told us we should fill up the washing machine more than what we where because the clothes wash better when its packed. Big mistake on our behalf! The washing machine has ate thousands of dollars worth of clothing. We did what we where told, so we thought we were doing something wrong. Little did we know we were doing nothing wrong. It was the machine. Then a sock found its way to the drainage field which let water pour out of the washing machine throughout the laundry room and going to the rest of the house. What a mess. We called and they found the problem and removed the sock. Still didnt fix the damaged clothing issue. I called them 1 year and 7 days after we got it and Whirlpool still wont cover their product. They said they where sorry they couldnt help. Well couldnt and wont are two separate things. Its a shame they wont stand behind their product after I bought over $6,000 appliances from them. You think theyd be a little more compassionate to their customers after spending that much money? Now you know how they treat their customers. Dont buy Whirlpool. They (Whirlpool, Maytag, etc. ) are maybe cheaper than their competitors, but its probably worth the extra money if you know theyll stand behind their product. Very unhappy customer!
