My wife and I purchased our new home in November 2014. The house was a foreclosure and therefore owned by a title company who gutted the home and installed all new appliances. Less than a year of ownership, the ice maker on the side by side fridge broke after normal use. Not having proof of purchase, I appealed to Whirlpool given the nature of my situation. They did NOTHING but try and sell me a new service agreement they offer to have it fixed. They cared little about my brand loyalty, situation or circumstances - all they wanted was to make more money off of the consumer. What ever happened to companies being accountable for the products they produce? What ever happened to companies wanting to do the right thing in order to retain loyal customers and increase satisfied word of mouth? Stay clear of Whirlpool... Theyre only out for themselves.

I am so thankful that there are others who are having the same problems with their washers. Since 2006, my husband and I have had words regarding who is not loading the washer right, why are the clothes still dirty, and why does the dryer have so much lint. The excessive amount of lint ruined my dryer. I get UL codes all the time! Before the UL flashes, it sounds like someones trying to break in. It is 2011. Despite the problems, it has not died yet. I am selling it and will never purchase another from them again. I have the dryer and it went out 2 years ago. It has problems with the motor. You can guess I did not buy a Whirlpool.

Oct 14th I walked down to our basement to find it flooded. Turns out the leak came from the solenoid that controls the water feed to our Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator. Now, some $28,000 in damages later - floors/cabinets/walls/electronics - you name it. The repair company said that they replace these units a lot as it is simply a faulty design and Whirlpool knows this as this part is very difficult to obtain - too much demand. Well aside from the cost, the inconvenience, and the rise in our insurance rates the repair person said there was a good chance of the new part failing as well - it just cant take the water pressure as it is just cheap plastic. My advice - stay away from Whirlpool!

I purchased a Whirlpool washer 7 months ago, and a month ago, it broke. I have been without my washer for 1 month, and it has been repaired 4 times in that month. It is still not working. All I get is that, its under warranty, and there isnt anything they can do, but to keep trying to fix it. I have been having to take my clothes to a laundromat, and pay to have them washed. I have asked for them to deem it defective, but they refuse.

I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio just over a year ago. The washing machine does not clean clothes! While under warranty, a service tech came out to look at it. After hearing the problem, he replied that it was a common complaint and that he could not fix the machine because the problem was that it is so poorly made that it simply does not work. His recommendation was to come to terms with the loss of a thousand dollars as Whirlpool would not rectify the problem.Whirlpool really showed their true colors when they refused to cover the repair tech visit. Whirlpool supervisor Kitty explained to me that customer advice was not covered under warranty and that we would have to pay the bill. Highlights of her argument were that we should just rinse the clothes multiple times and they would eventually get clean. She also mentioned that if the machine really did not work as described, we should have complained sooner even though it was still under the one-year warranty. Whirlpool will sell you junk backed with horrible customer service. Beware!

We purchased a stackable electric washer/dryer unit and received in October. Had issues from the start. Called Whirlpool in Dec 2018 and they sent out their contracted service company. Told us they were ordering parts. Never heard from anyone. Called service contractor and they said never received parts. Called January. WP told us that because it was a new model, they didnt have the parts. We asked them to replace the unit. WP called us and said they would replace the unit and it would arrive in late January. NO CALL. Called 2/22 and said, no similar units available. Ask them to upgrade me if there were units available. Said they would and the inventory of the upgraded unit was promising. Would get a call from delivery company for a 3/6 delivery and install. 3/2: Called because hadnt heard from anyone and called WP. Today Katrina ID # ** tells me they are making the new upgraded unit with an anticipated delivery of MID MARCH. I just about flipped my lid. I asked for a supervisor of which she said she was a SR support specialist. I asked that this be escalated and I get a call regarding status. She advised that she would inquire and call me back. Likely shouldnt hold my breath or try to call back because you are on hold for up to 1-2 hours. Just to clarify, have never had an issue with Whirlpool. Every appliance we have in our home is Whirlpool. I just cant believe this experience. I am going to the media on my next stop.

I have a Cabrio washer and dryer and have had nothing but problems. The tub bearing is going out and the washer makes a horrible noise. Now I am getting error codes and the washer begins a cycle and just shuts down. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a Whirlpool appliance. The cost of the repair is not worth the hassle and I am going to have to replace it. They should be recalled by Whirlpool and replaced for free. I will never buy another Whirlpool.

I just purchased a new Whirlpool 6th Sense hot water tank #333570. This unit is a piece of garbage. Whirlpool should be ashamed at the quality of product they make. This unit came with a bent temperature and pressure relief valve, which required a piece of copper tubing to be bent awkwardly just to remedy the situation. Also, the control box is set at 12 (most other brands are 14, which is common), forcing the gas lines to be re-piped (very expensive). This unit also is extremely noisy, runs really, really hot and is not energy-efficient at all. Shame on me for not researching this product more closely. If youre buying a new hot water tank, steer clear of Whirlpool products.

Whirlpool Cabrio drain problem - I never had a washing machine that lets so much through to the drain pump. I replaced pump three times already. First of all, if you put anything with buttons in this machine, you can kiss it goodbye. This machine destroys clothes then lets buttons and coins and whatever through to destroy the fins on the discharge pump. When is the BBB going to do something about this consumer ripoff?

I purchased a Top load Whirlpool washing machine, replacing my old Whirlpool. I am so unhappy with this new one. I noticed that the water level are low...I had the tech here twice and they said that if here isnt any lights on the dash that the machine is working. I called the head tech, same answer. When I put the clothes in the washer I make sure that the clothes are evenly placed in the tub. The clothes comes out tangled and some not clean. Tonight I noticed that a pair of pant at the bottom of the load had white smudges/ I am so unhappy with this piece of junk/ I cant afford to buy another washer, so I am stuck with this.. I have tried all the different controls, still bad. I know the new machine are different than the old ones. I still believe that the water levels controls are not working. I have used my sister new washers and the clothes are not tangled and they are all clean.

Bought this Whirlpool washer (WTW5000DW0) to save energy and water consumption. It has been awful from day 1. Clothes come out with detergent (white marks) all over them. Clothes aren’t spun out enough to dry them. It takes FOREVER for a load to finish, I can’t imagine that this is saving me anything on electric. Waste of money. Do not buy this!

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator for my condo in February of 2012. During the past six months it started to freeze everything in the food compartment, and then during this past month the freezer started to slowly die. Ice cream became soup. After calling repair and examination it appears the fridge has basically died and it would have cost me over $500 to fix a $570 refrigerator. That type of lifespan is unacceptable. Before energy efficiency demands from the government, refrigerators lasted much longer. In the 50s, 60s, the refrigerator my parents owed lasted nearly 30 years. Am I expecting too much? Apparently so. I went out and purchased a Frigidaire this time. Hopefully, Ill get a few more years out of that one (Not happy).

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum washer and dryer from HH Gregg and have had continuous issues with the washer. We have had the lid springs replaced two times since we purchased it and they are out again. I called our service company to ask why we have to continue to replace the springs very 6 months and they said it was a problem Whirlpool was having with this unit. I called Whirlpool and after being on the phone for 45 minutes, they told me there was not a recall, but I could buy the parts directly from them for 1/2 price. This amounts to about $20. The repair cost me about $200 every 6 months because it is a difficult installation. Whirlpool is a terrible company to deal with when you have a problem and they do not stand behind their products. I will never buy another Whirlpool product and will tell everyone I know the same.

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and dryer in May and it was the worst purchase we have ever made. We have had a technician out to our home three times. Whirlpool said that the next time the technician comes out to your house, you will have to pay for it and we have the extended warranty! The problems with the washing machine are many. 1. Leaves white streaks on dark clothes. 2. Not enough water covers the clothes, so clothes do not get clean. 3. The spin cycle is so violent that clothes are damaged. 4. The soak cycle is a joke. Soaking means to sit in water and soak. This machine drains the water so there is no soaking.5. With this very expensive machine, we can use only one cycle; bulky items on the low spin with a repeat rinse. The dryer is equally terrible. As I write this, I have two pairs of jeans going through the dryer for the third time. According to the technician, a heat sensor determines whether the clothes are dry. We have not had one load of laundry, big or small, that has dried in one cycle. But the technician said that this is how this machine works. We have tried all the cycles. According to Customer Service, the technicians found nothing wrong with the machines hence, we will have to pay for the next repair call. If you are looking at this machine and dryer, dont! Do not waste your money or your time. Washing laundry is a nightmare because the machines do not do what they are supposed to do --wash and dry the clothes.

When the fridge is running and there is a power loss of about a second or so, the fridge shuts down and will not restart (even after hours). I have to unplug it for a minute or so then plug it back in; it runs fine until the next very short power failure. When we are out of town for a few days and that happens, we come home to a fridge of ruined food and a mess. I have contacted Whirlpool (2 times) and they were no help at all. It seems to me a software change could solve the problem, but they are unwilling to listen.

Whirlpool model WRF560SMYB04 - We purchased this model Whirlpool in Dec 201
Whirlpool model WRF560SMYB04 - We purchased this model Whirlpool in Dec 2015 after having a refrigerator for 18 years with no problems. We started having cooling issues in late 2017 and finally an intolerable fan noise in April 2018. Researched it and purchased a fan. Opened up the freezer panel and found that the unit was completely frosted up to the point where ice had formed around the freezer fan and was hitting the blades. Contacted a repairman who came out and called in the issue to the Whirlpool tech line. He was told that he should check continuity on a couple of wires. If these checked out, the problem was the user interface board at the top of the refrigerator. We purchased a new board for about $100 and installed same. No change. I was now $250 into repairs and no further. We became aware of Whirlpool Service Pointer W10875533A which described conditions that we were experiencing. The issue was a coil thermistor that would corrode (apparently within 2 years) and would not provide accurate signals. Whirlpool also issued an instruction sheet W10902213 Rev A describing how to relocate the thermistor and protect it with foil and tape. My repairman came out, confirmed the thermistor ($54) was bad, replaced same following the Instruction Sheet. We were now out over $300 on a $1000 refrigerator purchased 2 years earlier.Whirlpool issued the Service Pointer (not to consumers, but to repair shops) in Sept 2016 (within our warranty period). We received no notifications from Whirlpool of the defective design. Nor did we receive a recall notice. Moreover, Whirlpool tech group must have known about this issue, but instructed my repairman to replace the interface board. Whirlpool knows they have a defective product out there but are doing nothing to inform the consumer or stepping up to correct the problem. We have contacted Whirlpool to recover our expenses...will let you all know how that goes. Anybody interested in pursuing a class action?

I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine (model: AW01D8810 S silver color) and a Whirlpool refrigerator (model: WBM329 TI) together from United Arab Emirates for Dhs 1999/- & Dhs 1199 /- respectively on 28 Jan. 2011. I sent this machine to my hometown (India) in the same packing and I used the washing machine only for three months and found a complaint. I informed this to service center in Trivandrum, Kerala. Their team came to my home and told me that warranty cannot be given as I purchased machine overseas. They added that the PCB for the machine is having complaint and they dont have stock in India. Also, the machine is no longer available in the factory. The Whirlpool company completely stopped manufacturing the abovementioned model. Again, I came to UAE and contacted GEC group of companies for the PCB part. I got a quotation for PCB Dhs 425/- but the items is ex-stock with them. The machine cost only Dhs 1999/- and if I spend Dh425/- only for PCB, and the machine is with me for the parts since one and half years. I dont know what to do. If I spend another Dhs 600 + this PCB cost then Id rather go for another new branded washing machine. The model of machine is AWO1D8810S and serial no. is 12 nc 859247463000 003. Please advise what to do or if I can find the PCB in Kerala. What will be the cost? I am ready to pay the money for PCB but not for the above rates. Please advise, sir.

I purchased a #Whirlpool; 4.3 cu. ft. Mini Refrigerator Stainless Steel BC-127B from @Target. There was a delay putting it into service (6 mos), so the Target store warranty was expired. The unit remained in its factory shipped packaging until put in service, so nothing out of the ordinary there. After barely two weeks of use, the compressor died. I followed all instructions (including waiting 8-10 weeks) from Whirlpool, but still have not received a refund or been given any information beyond we escalated it to our warranty team but havent heard back yet. The unit was a poorly made piece of junk in other respects as well. There are dozens of complaints about precisely this - defective units - on any site. On the 27th March 2012 I bought a new Whirlpool 6th Sense washing machine S/N 411048002028 AWOE 9210 - 30 9Kg for E499.00. I brought it home and plumbed it adding in a lime filter on the water line to protect it from limescale. On the 14th September 2016 a service technician replaced the entire drum as the old one made so much noise and the ball bearings are part of the drum. On the 7th June 2013 a technician replaced the drive belt claiming that it moved if a light load was put into the machine. On the same day I added an extension of 3 years Guarantee at Euro 89.00. On the 14th October 2013 a technician examined the machine for a water leak but found nothing and charged me for the call. Out E25.00. I lived with the noise of the spin cycle ever since. The noise got steadily worse until 27th September 2016 when the machine finally packed in. I stripped the machine down to find the ball bearings on the drum completely rusted over so the drum was rotating without the cushioning. On the same day I bought a Bosch machine and decided to forget about the extra guarantee as the offending parts had already been replaced once and did not even last 4 years. I will bring it to the recycling yard later today as that is all it is good for. It was bought in Media World, Orio Center, Bergamo. It was paid for by Gianni ** who is my father-in-law and had a loyalty card for the shop.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer approximately 4 years ago thinking we were purchasing a top-of-the-line washer. The first year went great. I was very impressed with how it washed. My clothes came out cleaner than ever before; I loved it. But shortly after the warranty expired, one of the water pumps began leaking out all over the floor. We found out that a coin had passed through the barrel down into the pump and caused the plastic pump to crack with the high speed spin. We replaced that pump at a cost of over $100. We shopped around to find the part as reasonable as possible. The machine worked fine for about another 10 months, then it happened again. The new pump began spitting out water all over the floor. So again, we found another coin, another crack in the pump and again replaced it, another $100+. Finally, a third time, it was the same thing; the pump cracked due to a coin. This time, it was the pump on the opposite side, but still, water was all over the floor. This time, we ordered the part through Whirlpool and complained about this happening for a third time. My husband asked them about the Lemon Law and he was told that he would have had to purchase all of the pumps through Whirlpool. What does that have to do with it? We bought the pumps where we could afford them! The washer cost about $700 to begin with, and within 4 years, weve spent approx. $400 more? Thats not the end of it though. Now we are hearing loud noises and there is water all over the floor again every time you wash. This time, its not the pumps though. It appears that it has something to do with the bearings and maybe a seal somewhere around the barrel itself. But you can hear something knocking around - it sounds almost like a nut. We are going to call a local repairman to come and look at it tomorrow. This is just ridiculous. I feel like weve been completely duped over this purchase. The salesman talked this up like it was the cream of the crop and weve had nothing but problems. My last washing machine was a Kenmore and it lasted nearly 15 years and not once did I have to call a repairman or buy parts for it! Guess what Im going to buy again? If Whirlpool would just acknowledge these problems and fix them for people, it might renew faith in your company. I know I dont know the inner workings of a washing machine, but it seems to me that a screen prior to the pumps to keep coins from entering the pumps wouldve been a very cheap fix to a huge problem. I also own the Cabrio dryer and have hated it since the day I got it. It never dry things with one cycle. I always have to run it a second time. Knock on wood though, I have never had any breakdowns with that. I can guarantee my next buy will not be Whirlpool, nor will I pick expensive models again. I bought the cheap stuff years ago and it lasted forever! Im very nervous because I bought a Whirlpool fridge last year and I am praying I have no problems with that!

We bought a Whirlpool microwave model # GH7208XRY4 at the Habitat For Humanity store. It was brand new still in the unopened box with the warranty card in the box. The box was undamaged and in perfect shape. We loved this microwave until six months later, it started to throw a code F6 and wouldnt work - it wouldnt turn on or off and we couldnt use it at all. Since this is an under the cabinet model, it was a little hard to uninstall it as its a built-in. I called the customer service center and they dont cover it because the ordinal purchase date was 2012, we bought it in Oct 2014. I guess someone bought it in 2012. They say that since the ordinal purchase date was 2012, they dont warranty. They also said because I had bought it from the ReStore, it was a donated item and would cover it. I told them the box was unopened and it worked for several months, so their stand was it might have been damaged when I bought it. Again I told them it worked for 6 months, so how could it have been damaged when I bought it? They were very unhelpful.

I bought my home four years ago with a Whirlpool 50-gallon water heater in it. It was installed in December 2002. Well, my hot water went out. The guy at Lowes was very nice but said I was the fifth person to come in this week.I called Whirlpool and was told because I was not the homeowner that had purchased the item that there was no warranty on the product and that I would have to pay for the part. It cost $34.98 plus shipping, which was another $30.00 because I had it shipped overnight. Two days with no hot water was enough. Well, I got the part and hopefully there is nothing wrong with it as it was shipped in a box twice as big as needed with no packing what so ever.I just got off the phone with them again but this time spoke with a supervisor that told me there was no need for packing. There was no part of the entire assembly that could have been damaged. Will I ever buy anything with the Whirlpool name on it? Not only no, but ** no! Will I tell everyone I know about this? You bet. I am also going to write to Lowes and ask why they are continuing to sell inferior appliances such as these. I have to tell one realtor friend about this and just placed a call to another to tell him. The first had no idea that appliances that were marked still under warranty did in fact have no warranty at all if its a Whirlpool. I may write a letter to the editor of our local newspaper and hope that they will publish it to inform anyone reading the paper about these inferior products.

BEWARE THE TEMP CAN BE 25 degrees off high and 25 deg lower and Whirlpool says that is within specifications. My oven temp was set at 350 and nothing was cooked... After 7 repair calls with their certified repair companies (the 2 worst repair companies that I have ever used) I was told that if you set your oven at 350 that if it stays in between 325 and 375 that Whirlpool claims that it is working fine and will not do anything. I called and talked to customer service and asked the lady that if you set your oven at 350 should it stay within a few degrees of that and she said YES.The people that work at Whirlpool do not even know what kind of junk that their company is selling. I asked to return it and get a more expensive model hoping that it would work better but they said that they sell ovens and do not buy them. Be sure to get in writing from your sales person that your oven will constantly hold the temp within a few degrees. I tried to do the Whirlpool survey but after 11 attempts they said that there was errors in receiving and they did not get it. If you buy Whirlpool then you did not ask the right questions. I WILL NEVER BUY Whirlpool again (unfortunately I have a Whirlpool dishwasher and refrigerator that are not much better) and if you do you will say the same things and be out Thousands like I am.

I bought my first Cabrio set in 2008 to replace Maytags that lasted forever but looked their age on the outside. No problem with cleaning and drying, just wanted something new. What a mistake! I looked in Consumer Report Guide to pick and found the Cabrio set. Had problems after the first 4 months - UL uneven load codes flashing up, and had to replace suspensions and bearings, boards, etc. Unfortunately within that 4 months I bought another Cabrio set to put in my vacation home. Started with the same issues and really hard to get a service technician to come out because of where we were located. Customer service with Whirlpool sucks as well as Sears service. It is AMAZING to me that Whirlpool will NOT stand behind this product. I am writing this as I see an F1 code flashing on my washer here at my second home. I have a load of towels in it and house guests arriving in the morning! I will be trashing this washer and dryer and finding something old school and reliable. I want no bells and whistles, just clean and dry clothes. Whirlpool, you should be ashamed.

My old 25 yr old Whirlpool died and was shopping for a new one. I saw the Cabrio and was really impressed by the features and large capacity interior. I can say that I thought my clothes were getting clean until I looked closely. I have never been so disappointed with this washer. I wish I had my old one back! Clothes arent clean, they are so twisted when I take them out and theres a horrible smell, like oil burning when it runs. The machine would fill up and when it would start to wash, it wouldnt, it would stop. And a loud humming noise was coming from the back.I shut it off and turned it back on and it wouldnt clear. I had to unplug it and plug it back in to clear it and start over. The bearings are gone now and I was going to have a repairman come and look at it, but now I wont bother! After reading everyones comments this Cabrio is a piece of junk and Im sorry I ever bought it! So now Ill be shopping for a new one tomorrow with an agitator!!! Im not impressed with the HE appliances!!! Ive owned this POS for not quite 6 yrs. Expensive to purchase and I will not recommend Whirlpool to anyone! Its sad that companies today make cheap products!! Built to last... ha!! Well never see those again!!

This washer is poorly designed. Less then one year old and always has problems. I dont feel it cleans the closes. Does not always spin them. The load and go is a joke - had a service call because it would lock up - was told load and go does not work and not to use it - the washer was only a few months old. Now it will not even turn on!!!! - All other appliances work in the outlet - it does not respond. I will not even wash by good clothes in it - I take them to my daughters Samsung. I am in my sixtys and this is the worse washer I have ever owned, DO NOT PURCHASE.

A couple of years ago, we had 2 natural gas hot water heaters installed. We immediately had a service call to replace the thermostat on one of them. Then recently, the other one had to be replaced because of the leaky tank. It was still in warranty, and we had to pay $425 for the old one to be removed and the new one installed. Now, this one has a bad thermostat and the A & E Factory Service is coming tomorrow to install the new thermostat. We have been inconvenienced by this for a couple of weeks as we have no hot water in the master bath. We were just lucky that we had one hot water heater working in the other part of the house. I think that Whirlpool should have paid the $425 for the installation as the original hot water heater was in warranty. Now, I hope that tomorrows visit will be covered by the warranty. Next time we need an appliance, we will not be purchasing a Whirlpool.

Whirlpool Gold Series gas oven with Aqua Lift. Very unhappy with this oven. Cons: Aqua Lift technology doesnt work AT ALL (manual cleaning required); stove top hard to clean; 2 front gas burners are super burners which is fine for boiling water, but too hot for regular cooking. Would be better to have one super burner in the middle or back but two upfront is way too hot for regular cooking, even on lowest setting. Was going to use spray cleaner but cannot on convection ovens. In a bind what to do except scrub with Brillo. Anyone used Brillo?

Purchased a Whirlpool WTW7800XW a year and a half ago. The left top of the washers glass pops up, making it impossible to use the washer unless I weigh it down. Apparently a screw has popped out to hold the glass in place. Whirlpool used to make a decent product, but thought I should pay them $129 for their time, just to come out and then an additional part fee. How about the 30 minutes I spent on the phone with no satisfaction. My time is also valuable. I gave them the choice to come out and replace the screw (which shouldnt have fallen out in the first place) or lose a customer. Fortunately, I have a husband that can repair it, but I am extremely disappointed that Whirlpool is now making substandard products. We are a family of 3, so its not like Im doing laundry daily. Am I wrong to think I can get at least 3 years out of a product?

The aqualift cleaning function is a joke, so be prepared to be down on your hands and knees scrubbing. Im careful, and Ive not spilled anything yet, but the oven still gets splatters from roasting meats, etc. Id hate to see what Ill have to deal with when I actually let something spill. Today, as I was down on my hands and knees trying to clean it, I noticed that the enamel is chipping off where the oven racks slide in. Great. After multiple washings, including the extra rinse, my dark clothing still come out with lint, dog hair, dirt and white residue all over them. I have already checked to see if the hot/cold hoses might have been crossed. I also checked for water pressure to see if water is exiting the machine properly. It is still under warranty, and I have scheduled for a repairman. However, I will most likely return the washer to Lowes.

Weve had our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine for about 3 1/2 to 4 years. At first, it left our clothes wrinkled, so I purchased a steamer to help remove the wrinkles. After a few months, it started making a terrible clanging noise. My husband was able to repair and it ran okay for a while. Over a few months, it got louder and louder. It does not get our clothes completely clean. Some even come out dry on one side. Now, we are getting an F50 code and it shuts down after 1 minute. We bought the Cabrio less than 5 years ago. First of all, a high-efficiency washer should not require an extra rinse after each wash, but this one does. I cant see how thats being efficient. The washer, even for a small load, can take up to 54 minutes, and then when you tack on an extra rinse, its well over an hour, so what you may be saving in water, youre spending in electric and wait time. And then, there is still a soap/water scum left on the clothes, which is only evident on the darker clothing. Now, just recently, the washer is stopping, and NOT unlocking after about a minute into the start cycle. I will have to cancel the wash, turn it off and unplug it before I can get it opened. Im sure its something to do with the electric panel, which after reading the reviews, we are not going to fix, and we are headed out to buy the traditional top loader, NOT high efficiency, which I suspect will still be more efficient than the Cabrio.

Whirlpool Dryer Model WED4815EWO and Whirlpool Washer W10682799 - I have always had great results with Whirlpool products. Both are energy efficient and save on operating costs. I purchased them three (3) months ago. The washer locks during the wash cycle. That took a little getting used to. I have always been able to rely on Whirlpool products. The top loading washer (W10682799) is energy efficient and high capacity. It regulates the water level so you dont have to worry about wasting water. The matching Dryer (WED4815EWO) has a sensor to regulate your drying time or it can be manually set. I appreciate the worry free, self-regulating functions on both the washer and the dryer.

Cabrio Whirlpool Washer - Bought this washer from HHGregg in Orange Park, Florida. This washing machine is horrible!! It does not fill the tub with water enough to even cover the clothes. Some of the clothes are not even wet. They just sit in dirty water, no agitation. Then it refills with water and the rinse water is dirty, there is no agitation or movement during the wash cycle. My clothes are stained and dried food and dirt are still on the clothes. My white clothes are now gray. This is the worst machine. I have tried everything. I am now hand washing the clothes and trying to add water to at least cover the clothes but the sensor just drains the extra water out. This machine is less than a year old. On July 19, I was forced to buy a new washer. Bought a Frigidaire which, when connected to the water supply, started immediately dumping water into the drum. Sent this defective washer back to the retailer and chose a new Whirlpool. O-M-I-G-O-S-H! It was delivered on 25 July and despite having 4 temperature settings, it only worked on either hot or cold AND you could never tell what temperature was going to be chosen by this computerized wonder. I repeatedly called Customer Support and received three different answers on what temperature was considered warm. The answers ranged from 65 to 102 degrees. Also, you could open the lid when the water was running in, which washers are no longer supposed to do. Whirlpool then arranged for A & D Service to come and repair my NEW washer and scheduled an appointment for a week later. I was forced to call that company to find out if they were even coming. When they did not show as promised, I cancelled the appointment and called Whirlpool to ask for another service company. They then scheduled me for two weeks later (now August 30th). The guy did come and told me there was user error - I had used too much soap as this was an HE washer. I asked him to show me where on the appliance and in the owners manual that it stated the washer was an HE. He couldnt find it either and said he would replace the computer and the door lock because his computer found that the washer was hit and miss on anything it was set on. At any rate, it is a little over a week later and I have heard nothing from the repairman and, of course, no follow-up from Whirlpool. Do not make the mistake of buying any Whirlpool product, and that now encompasses names such as Maytag, Amana, Jenn-Air, Kitchen-Aid and many more if you want to be assured of a quality product and excellent customer service. What if this had been a refrigerator? The whole debacle has been a nightmare. Wish I had bought a GE!

All burners would light intermittently. Every time I had trouble, I called the service tech from Homestead Lumber, where I purchased the product from and he could never find anything wrong. Product would work fine whenever he came out. Finally, it acted up in May of this year while the product was still under warranty and while the service tech was here. The tech replaced the circuit board. One month later, Im still having trouble replacing igniter. Four days ago, Im still having trouble. This stove stinks. We purchased 4.0 cu. ft. Cabrio Top Load Washer with 6th Sense Technology MODEL WTW7340XW2 on 11/20/2011. We are a small family of 3 so use of the machine is light. We noticed a strange sound and some leaks a week ago and called in a technician recommended on the Whirlpool website. To our horror he informed us that we need to replace the tub bearing assembly, rotor and stator - to a cost of $1095! This machine is not even 3 years old. Did we buy a lemon? I called Whirlpool. They were simply not interested. The online chat person sent me to the Whirlpool Customer Experience Team where I was told that I should buy an insurance plan to cover the costs of repairs. They then sent me on to the insurance department who want me to pay $338 to buy a repair plan to have the machine fixed. And then referred me to the Manufacturing division when I wanted to know how to escalate the problem - and if you call that number - there is no option to deal with problems - seriously?!? Is this what I should expect when buying the Whirlpool brand?

I found the top of the Electric stove could be easily scratched and the refrigerator was noisy. The stainless steel seemed not as heavy as our other ones. The Whirlpool insignia on the refrigerator came lose and I needed to glue it back on. I’ve always had good luck with Whirlpool and we’ll see how this goes. Just to be safe we bought an extended warranty on the fridge.

I purchased the Front-Loader Duet in June of 2008. Like many of the consumers here, my machine began making a thunderous sound during the spin cycle. I contacted Whirlpool and arranged for service. The service call was $129, the estimate was over $1100 to repair (bad bearing). The machine originally cost $899 plus tax. I called customer service to complain. I had owned two top-loader Whirlpool machines; one for 15 years, the other for 12 years with no service calls ever needed. How can Whirlpool possibly justify what is obviously a design defect by telling me that I should have bought an extended warranty? I replied that in my experience, an extended warranty is an unnecessary expense for a Whirlpool product.

I purchased the glass top Cabrio a couple of years ago. Without an agitator; it is amazing how nice thick towels come out with holes or rips! Clothes get so twisted. My sister needed a new washer and after telling her the problems with the Whirlpool; she purchased an LG. I have told many people that have purchased an agitator free machine to stock up on Affresh or one of the other tub cleaners... you need them to keep the odor from getting into your clean? clothes. I cannot wait to sell this washer or give it away!!

I purchased a brand new fridge in July of 2014 (model wrf990slam00) hoping refrigeration repairs were now behind me. They were not. The ice machine did not work from day one and they knew it was defective when I called so they had someone come out to replace it. Just over a year later it is not working again and my freezer will not freeze either. They tell me I am now out of warranty and any repairs going forward will be out of pocket. Congratulations Whirlpool. You make products that last a whole year. Do not buy Whirlpool. They could care less about you or the quality of their products.

Appliance repairman is coming tomorrow. Washer is less than 2 years old and will stop mid-cycle more than once (I re-start it)... At first when I thought the cycle was done I would get ready to move the clothes to the dryer and realize they were all soapy and sometimes they were just massively soaked so something is not working right. Sensor?? Hopefully not the computer panel as that will be too expensive to repair.

Whirlpool Dishwasher Model WDT7820PADMO was installed last October. Small parts began detaching themselves from the first day. Then machine leaked onto floor two weeks ago and I shut it down. As it was purchased from Sears, they and Whirlpool have batted responsibility for repairs back and forth until proof of extended warranty was supplied to Whirlpool. They then scheduled a repair job for a week later with an unqualified technician, who naturally refused the job. Upon callback, I was rescheduled for a day two weeks hence. As it turned out, the repairman would not be near my home on the appointment date. Luckily, I tried to move the appointment up, as the repair service said Whirlpool did not supply proof of the extended warranty. I saved five days waiting time by rescheduling, but have to supply proof of extended warranty yet again. All this for a dishwasher that takes three hours per load, and doesnt do a particularly good job of cleaning.

I stumbled across this page on another mission and had to stop to add my exp. Perhaps I got lucky and got a good set but Im on my 3rd year and my washer and dryer are my friends. I dont have hot water connected to my washer and my husband is a shingle roofer so I often have to wash his clothes twice but my dogs beds come out beautiful and the sanitizer on the dryer removes odors very well. My water bill went down, I can wash my rugs and large comforters at home now. Plus they are so pretty. Im sorry you are all having so much trouble but I love mine sooo much I just had to stop a moment to throw in a little positive.

My wife and I bought my mom a Whirlpool Cabrio. It worked fine but after a while it stopped working properly. It would take forever to start washing. We called Lowes and they said it was fine. Second time they came out, they replaced a part that was the problem. Again it didnt work. Would start to wash two to three hours after you hit start. My mom had nothing but problems with it. My wife and I had a Samsung washer and dryer which worked excellent. We sold them when we moved and our apartment had no washer/dryer connection. I should have given them to my mom. So she was tired of her washer and we set out to buy a new one.So since I had a Samsung, I convinced to get one also. We went to the Sears outlet and found a really nice Samsung washer for around $500. So far, the machine has worked well. No complaints and gets the clothes clean. So for anyone that has had problems buying appliances and is looking for a new one, well, Samsung is doing a great job so far.

Whirlpool sent rusty parts out to my home and that was the second excuse for not fixing the washer. The poor service guy must have been 70 years old. Halfway through the cycle the control panel went blank. Basically both ovens died, and the bottom oven door is locked. After researching online I learned that this has been an issue with the self-cleaning feature on Whirlpool ovens for some time now. We purchased our Duet in July 2010. It worked great until two weeks ago when the washer sounded like a 40-year-old washer. The bearing sounds like an extremely high-pitched “wrr”. We can hear it in the back of the house. I looked online to get parts and noticed that you cannot replace the bearing. You must replace the entire rear drum ($358.00). This does not include the labor. I talked with a technician, and they said the whole drum must be removed, not a one-man job, and to take the whole thing apart. Now, theres no price for installation. Lets go low ($200.00). Probably more. I cannot get a price nailed down without a visit. Now add those together ($558.00), I could put almost $600.00 into a washer that this could happen to in another 2 years. Wow.We had a washer that lasted us 15 years without any parts. Is there anything that you can do to help me? This is totally outrageous. Please help. Thank you. This was part of my chat to Whirlpool. Whirlpools response was I understand your problem but cannot help you. It is out of warranty. No help, no discount, nothing. I will and have all my friends never to purchase Whirlpool. This is from a so-called American company. Im very disappointed.

So I had a problem with the water heater after 2 years and had the sensor fix by my heating people. Now the water heater is 3 years old and started leaking from the top of the water heater. Called my heating people and they fix the pipe and coupling on top but he told me the water was still bubbling up at the top. He told me it could stop and 70% it would be ok. Went to check on it and it continues to leak so I called Whirlpool because it was still under warranty. They are the most horrible people to deal with. First of all I told the guy it was leaking from the top but he asked me if it was leaking out of the side pipe. Didnt know what he was talking about and he kept sighing on the phone. If I knew about water heaters I wouldnt be calling them. After all the questions it came down to it was leaking where I told him at the top. He gave me a number and told me to take the water heater back to Lowes and get a new one and then call them and they would move the warranty over to the new heater. Really???? We are not talking about clothes you want to bring back to a store. Asked him how I should do this and he told me to call a heating contractor. So does he think that the heating contractor and going to run the water heater back for a new one??? In the end I just called my heating people and they are going to send somebody out to install a new heater. So much for Whirlpools warranty. If this is under warranty and it is exclusive to Lowes then they should be having Lowes bring a new one and install it.

19 gallon Electric Whirlpool water heater Model #e1f20us015v - Purchased this water heater from Lowes to provide hot water to small apartment with no kitchen for my son, built in my garage. Had unit professionally installed within 1 foot of bath to provide hot water for shower and sink in bath only. Hot water lasts only 5 to 6 minutes and takes approx. 2 hours to recover. My son cannot even take a normal shower! ntacted Lowes who was unable to help and told me to contact Whirlpool. Contacted Whirlpool after my model number would not even come up on their website. I asked tech what was the normal expected amount of time before hot water depleted. She did not know. I asked what was the normal recovery rate. She did not know. I asked for information on the energy rating. She said there was no information available. I asked how I could receive a refund. She said that they could only send a plumber to check unit and that nothing would be done if it was heating water. I asked to speak with a supervisor. She said none were available and said one would call me. I never received a return call. VERY DISSATISFIED with Whirlpool on this issue. It appears my only recourse is to purchase a new water heater and scrap the present one.

We recently purchased a refrigerator from a reputable local appliance store
We recently purchased a refrigerator from a reputable local appliance store after months of shopping and comparing and research. As an opinion, Whirlpool seemed to set the standard for a quality appliance. Unfortunately, we failed miserably by buying this side-by-side fridge. Two unsolvable problems. First, the cold side door is extremely difficult to open. Ive tried ALL gasket lube methods and failed. Second, the stainless steel used on the front of the machine is obviously low grade that accepts magnets and is almost impossible to clean weekly without streaking. They were kind enough to provide us with their special cleaner {free} but it takes about an hour and a half to use for moderate success. The lady on the help desk listened but seemed rather cold and uninterested in the problems. At this point, we would be willing to pay the extra and go to a Kitchen Aid instead. Our advise is beware of these types of issues and get some kind of guarantee from your store when buying a WHIRLPOOL refrigerator. This is simply terrible.

On 3/31/2012, we purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator (model #ED5FVGXWS07, serial #HR14602963) from the electronic appliance store called SuperCo, located at 17523 Colima Road, City of Industry, CA. Within around a month, we noticed that things kept in the refrigerator all showed weird phenomena; raw eggs were frozen inside the shells and ice is frozen on food and utensils stored, not in the freezer, but on the fridge side. At the same time, all food kept in the refrigerator turned bad easily, especially during summer time. Cooked food went bad and had a bad smell within just three days of being kept in the fridge. Also, the ventilator-like part on top of the fridge (the part which released cold air) had ice frozen around it from time to time.Obviously, the fridge was not working, as the freezer was not cold enough and the side was either making food turn bad or causing ice to freeze on stuff kept inside. The temperature seemed to be extremely uneven inside. We then asked SuperCo for repairs or a replacement, but they refused and referred us back to the manufacturer, Whirlpool. Repair services have been called three times on 2012, according to the paperwork records I have: a) on 5/31/2012, bad damper was broken and replaced; b) on 6/7/2012, (according to paper records from SuperCo), replaced parts; and c) on 6/20/2012, turned ice maker off and cleaned (the hand writing was hard to read). Then, around December of 2012, after the services, we experienced another great problem with this fridge again. When ice cream was kept in the freezer, they appear to have melted and my brother suffered from diarrhea after eating the ice cream. The ventilator-like part on top of the fridge still had ice frozen around it. We then took pictures as fresh vegetables kept at the bottom drawer of the fridge had ice frozen on it, too. I finally emailed Whirlpool through their official website on 2/7/2013 and asked for a new fridge replacement based on the Lemon Rule. An e-solutions specialist, Judy, replied that the product was warranted for a specified time period for repairs, not the replacement of the product, and Whirlpool declined my request for a replacement.Repair service was then requested by me for the fourth time, through email. On 2/21/2013, this fourth repair company came and checked the fridge. After a detailed inspection, the technician concluded that some parts of the fridge needed to be replaced, one of the parts called the thermostat. Strangely, after he called his company, he changed all that he said before and claimed that the fridge was 100% working and that no repairs were needed at all. Even when we showed him the frozen vegetables from the fridge side that we got recently, he insisted that the fridge had no problems at all and left. The way Whirlpool responded to my request was extremely disappointing, with their refusal to replace the fridge after three complete repair visits, and the fourth visit changing the inspection conclusion with no reason. Of course, the disappointment is greatest with the extremely bad quality of this electronic appliance. As of this moment, my fridge could still not keep food well and is causing us bad health. I think the only way I could go to now is to take action against the company for the lemon refrigerator, for breach of warranty, and maybe fraud.

I just want to say that this washer is indeed a colossal waste of money. I bought an HE machine thinking Id be environmentally responsible, but the amount of times I have to re-rinse clothes negates that. Whats worse is that clothes come out dirtier than when they go in. Thats right--just put a brand new set of sheets in the washer and when they came out, there were dissolved detergent marks and gray, linty patches all over them (this using warm water and a soft gel detergent)--resembling dirt you might get from hanging clothes on a mildew clothes line. I cant tell you how many times I need to re-run the drain and spin cycle. This wastes time, water and quality of life. Id try to re-sell it on Craigslist but wouldnt want to subject anyone else to it--not fair even at $100!Updated on 02/23/2015I wrote a review in September 2014 on the Whirlpool cabrio model WTW5600XWO. To update the community on my recent customer service experience with Whirlpool: I wrote them a letter a few weeks ago stating that I dont expect them to follow up but wanted to let them know I would be buying Bosh products from now on and reiterating my anger at needing to miracle brush any dark piece of clothing after it goes through the cabrio. My letter specifically said I did not expect customer resolution but wanted to express what a rotten product they produced and marketed. They called back leaving a message to the effect: We apologize want to help you but need to speak in person. Please call [toll free number] and have your make and serial numbers available. I called back, and after waiting on hold for 10 mins., the rep took my model and serial numbers, said, Oh I see your letter. Please give me a moment to review it. Then I was told there was nothing she could do. I do apologize for your frustration. I couldnt BELIEVE they would bother contacting me only to make me go through that charade-- They are PATHETIC! I say boycott the company! Well, I certainly will.

It began leaving sediment on my clothes immediately, even though I followed the specific washing instructions. Whirlpool sent 3 different repairmen to fix the problem, each indicated there had been problems with this machine. None were able to fix the problem. When I called Customer Service for the 4th time, they refused to discuss the problem. They said there was nothing wrong with the machine, it was my problem, I must have too much “lint” in my clothes. Haven’t had that problem for 69 years, but this was their way of handling the problem. They refused any further help. I would discourage everyone from buying a Whirlpool product. I absolutely do not back their products. You are on your own!!

Whirlpool WRF 990SLAM00 - Im 62, I have owned, and my family has owned a number of refrigerators and never have had any problems. I have been used to my refrigerators and major appliances lasting 15 plus years without any problems. I mostly bought Maytag washers and GE kitchen appliances. I had trouble with a GE dishwasher, out of warranty, but GE was very nice about it and came out and fixed it at no charge, then replaced it for free when it failed again. (No new problems in 4 yrs.). Then I made the big mistake of going with Whirlpool products in my new house in Florida, where I live half the year. What a mistake. First there was the Cabrio washer. After 1 yr and a week, It would not go to the spin cycle. I called Whirlpool, they said, Sorry, out of warranty. I told them, I only live in this place for half the year, so I have hardly used the machine. The Whirlpool person said, Sorry out of warranty. I asked for a supervisor and they were worse than the first person. The attitude was screw you, you should have bought the extended warranty. I called a repairman who fixed it for 150 dollars. During the spin cycle it gets really loud, but at least it works. Then the refrigerator. I arrived back in FL and the 1.5 year old refrigerator was not cooling. I called Whirlpool and said I needed a repairman. They said, Out of warranty, you can buy an extended warranty for 345 dollars. I said, No, a refrigerator should not fail at 1.5 years, send a repair man. He was great, but said the unit had a Freon leak somewhere in the box that was un-repairable. He told me, You need a new refrigerator. I will now call Whirlpool and see what they will do for me, but I expect little based on my experience with the washer, and others comments above. I will go back to all GE products after this as at least they seem to stand behind their products. Oh, and since Whirlpool now owns Maytag, as Whirlpool owns them now. Sad.

Eleven months after purchasing a Whirlpool refrigerator for our office lunch room it stopped working. While the refrigerator was still under warranty, I called Whirlpool for a service call. I was informed that the warranty is voided because the unit is located at a business and not a residential property. I explained to the customer service agent that there is no mention of this policy until after the appliance is purchased. After a considerable amount of time on the phone speaking with several supervisors, I was connected to a Resolution Specialist. She informed me that this policy is available online for consumers to view prior to purchasing Whirlpool appliances and it is the consumers Due Diligence to research warranty policies before purchasing. Consumers beware! Warranties are voided on all Whirlpool appliances that are located at a business address.

These machines are designed to clean your clothes by rubbing them together which they attempt to do in a minute amount of water. They destroy the fabric, pull the seam out of shape, wrinkle them beyond the point of wearable, do not get them clean and do not get all the detergent out. I have had clothes come out partially dry. They also do not dilute the fabric softener, leaving unremovable stains on your clothes. In addition, they take forever to do a load of clothes even without the extra rinse you need if you want any hope of getting the clothes rinsed. The dryer is the slowest dryer I have ever had. The steam refresh that is supposed to get the hideous wrinkles out of your clothes does not put steam into the dryer. Instead, it sets the dryer to the highest heat so that those clothes you did not want on high heat are now getting it; then it shoots bursts, yes large bursts, of water on them. Your clothes come out a combination of still wrinkles and wet. If you hear of a class action suit, please contact me. These machines should be recalled.
