Bought a model WRT318FZDW02 (top freezer) refrigerator (new) about 3 1/2 years ago and its already failing. The temperature regulation has failed and food in the lower compartment freezes while the temperature in the freezer compartment varies wildly. Unfortunately typical repair costs these days will probably make this a throw away item. Ive owned several different refrigerators over the years and theyve all lasted well beyond 10 years. I definitely cant recommend buying anything from Whirlpool these days.

Purchased a Whirlpool WTW7800XW a year and a half ago. The left top of the washers glass pops up, making it impossible to use the washer unless I weigh it down. Apparently a screw has popped out to hold the glass in place. Whirlpool used to make a decent product, but thought I should pay them $129 for their time, just to come out and then an additional part fee. How about the 30 minutes I spent on the phone with no satisfaction. My time is also valuable. I gave them the choice to come out and replace the screw (which shouldnt have fallen out in the first place) or lose a customer. Fortunately, I have a husband that can repair it, but I am extremely disappointed that Whirlpool is now making substandard products. We are a family of 3, so its not like Im doing laundry daily. Am I wrong to think I can get at least 3 years out of a product?

7 months ago we had a Whirlpool dishwasher installed into our home. While away on vacation the piece inside malfunctioned and caused major damage as water filled the home. Whirlpool claims, that because it’s a part that they contract out to another company, they “Whirlpool” are not responsible! If you purchase a product from Whirlpool and they put their name on that product, then Whirlpool should stand by its product. Well... beware, you’re not going to compensate from Whirlpool! We urge you, make sure of whom the parts of the product your buying from belong to, before you buy it FIRST! Never again!

We purchased a new home 6 weeks ago that was furnished with new Whirlpool appliances. The stove worked great however the oven never worked at any time. The appliance sales person advised that we had to go through Whirlpool for repair on a brand new appliance. To date we have had to stay home 2 days and the range is still not working and third service call is now scheduled. A call to Whirlpool ended with them advising that we do not qualify for a replacement range, even though it never worked. We have been without an oven for 6 weeks now which is totally unacceptable. I would never buy another Whirlpool product or recommend them based on this current experience. We paid for a new product that never worked and they will not replace it. Hopefully they can repair it on the third visit. Unfortunately I have lost faith in this product and this company.

The washer in this set is my biggest complaint. I have followed all instructions and tried different methods time and time again and the clothes never come out fully clean. I too experience all the other complaints on this site as well, stuff still left on clothes, dry spots, stains not removed after being pretreated etc. I did some research before buying this set and saw some good reviews, dont know who wrote them but obviously they were highly inaccurate. This is my biggest purchase regret ever, as this set cost about $2500, so disappointed.

I purchased a whirlpool duet washer & dryer several years ago. In the 3rd yr or so, the dryer kept shutting off with beeps prior to clothes dried or cycle completion. Whirlpool gave me an option for an extended warranty given that the orig one had long ended. I purchased it - a one year warranty. In that year I have had technicians to my house 6-7 times to diagnose or swap parts. They eventually swapped all 3 boards on the dryer. It still shuts down before clothes are dry. Whirlpool tells me that they outsource this service and take no responsibility for either their lemon of a machine nor their lemon service company; Alliance Repair. I would like the money back for the extended warranty so that I could buy a new dryer and all I get is a runaround from both the service company and whirlpool. I will never buy whirlpool again and advise anyone out there to also not buy their machines.

I own a Whirlpool Cabrio. I wanted a newer technology (no agitator) washer with top loading capabilities. I ended up with a four to five-year lifespan with this washer. The bearings are busted and it leaks water from the bottom. I have followed loading instructions specifically. It will cost about $1,000 to fix so of course, I am buying another washer and a matching dryer.

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7340XW2 washer approx 2 years ago. The machine runs so loud on the spin cycle you cant have a phone conversation or hear the TV over it and is leaking grease from the bottom. My mistake to not purchase the extended warranty but you would think a machine would last more than 2 years. I contacted Whirlpool online and by mail and they do not stand behind their product. I did contact a local repair shop and by our phone conversation was told it would be approx 300-350 to fix it and Im not putting that kind of money into a repair. Just want to let consumers know this machine is junk and spend your money on quality appliances, not Whirljunkpool.

Less than 1 year ago, I bought a washer and dryer. From the beginning, we have had a water problem and the water only comes cold... no warm water in the normal cycle. They came 6 times to service the machine and they cannot fix it. They said there is nothing is wrong with the machine but it does not wash with warm water in the normal wash cycle. I advise not to buy this product anymore. It is under a warranty so they should fix it or replace it. I am sick and tired of talking to them. They said if we send the service guy then I have to pay for it which is not acceptable because it is under a warranty. If anyone is thinking about buying this product, I advise not to get it and waste money on it.

Two years ago, I bought two Whirlpool Water Heaters. Like the others who have posted, after one year the first one went out. Last night the second one went out. I just wish that I had read the prior reviews before I bought these replacement water heaters. I also had to navigate a very unfriendly customer experience, first with Whirlpool and then the manufacturer. After that I had to wait a week to get a repair person out only to have to order the part and then be asked to pay for it and the express shipping. Totally amazing! I have decided to buy new water heaters next quarter because I just cannot put up with either the aggravation or the expense of constant repairs. I will returning these two water heaters to Lowes, where they were purchased. Perhaps if enough of us return them, Lowes will decide its not worth damaging their brand to sell a known inferior product. When this many people complain about a product and they all have the same experience its a lack of quality, plain and simple. And I would think that Lowes would not want to go on supporting a known inferior product when even Whirlpool is lukewarm in their response to our complaints.

We purchased this combo from Lowes; checked my account and saw we were double charged! Got the charge adjusted; jeez. Bought this size to do comforters and large loads, but nothing large gets completely wet. Our clothes started to mildew as Affresh does not work. Im allergic to mildew and got headaches. The mechanic said this mildew is because all the action is under the basin and you dont want to see how black it is under there. It began to leak as buildup went into the bleach dispenser, and it turned black. He said to run a gallon of white vinegar in the clean cycle once a month, and this did work. I did a clean out with Castile peppermint soap, several white vinegar treatments, and got rid of the mildew and the (clog related) leak. I now use Mollys Suds powder. I was shocked to read on the Mollys site that mfg does not have to list all the terrible ingredients in commercial detergent, which is not helping you or the machine.

I purchased a Whirlpool CABRIO H2Low top load washing machine approximately 12-15 months ago from Lowes in Columbus, GA. I have been very dissatisfied with it from the beginning. I contacted Lowes and discussed the machine and expressed my complaints. I realize that it has a sensor and fills the machine with the amount of water according to the weight of the clothes but have found that regardless of what cycle I place the machine in, it doesnt place over 2 inches of water in the machine. It does not clean the linens, under garments or any type clothes. In fact, it has ruined my designer clothes. It is impossible to get the wrinkles out with an iron. Im very disappointed in the service we have received with this washer.

After 48 years of marriage, I had never had a new, matching washer/dryer set. I had had several new washers, but only used dryers. These all were very good units and served me well for years. So I was excited to buy a new, matching set. I have never been soooo dissatisfied with anything in my life. As I have read from other reviews, the washer uses very little water, sometimes hardly enough to get the load of clothes wet, very little soap, and in my opinion, does hardly any agitating. I dont feel my clothes have ever appeared clean. The only ones that look clean were the ones that started out looking clean when I put them in. I know this is all an ecology thing, water saving, government guidelines, etc., but please give me my old washer back. It did enough agitation to get clothes clean. And the dryer usually will not get the jeans dry on the first attempt. I have tried various settings, and they just dont get dry. In short, I HATE THIS WASHER/DRYER SET. I have heard others talk about the same thing. No one likes them, but we are stuck with them. Would like to have the government step in and see how dissatisfied everyone is with them and force Whirlpool to give us our money back, trash these units, and buy something that actually works. PLEASE, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR WASHERS AND DRYERS, DONT BUY THESE. I believe they are called Cabrio.

I bought a Whirlpool washing machine from Home Depot 4 years ago. It immediately started to grow mold in the seal even though I wiped it clean after usage. I called a certified technician to replace the seal. As he was removing one screw on the lock the Washing machine shorted out essentially destroying the panel and rendering the machine broken. I called Whirlpool and told them that the machine was defective otherwise, why would it do that? My technician has worked on hundreds of machines and this is the first time this has happened. The two managers I talked to refused to help me because I didnt have an extended warranty. It is true that I dont have an extended warranty but also, I had faith that Whirlpool had sold me a good product. There is no other explanation for the washing machine to do that other than it was defective. I asked the managers to send me replacement parts, but they refused to do that. The last machine I had was a Maytag that lasted 20 years and when I gave it away, it was still working. I expected no less from the Whirlpool I purchased at Home Depot.

I purchased a Whirlpool range from Lowes for $750.00. After 13 months, the digital circuit board went out and cost $580.00 to repair. I thought this was odd since the range was fairly new. The service tech said the boards are a common problem. Two years later, when using the self-cleaning mode, the door was locked and the board was out again. So this must be the issue because that is the same problem that happened the first time. This must be a design flaw! The board cannot handle the heat generated in self-clean mode. Way to go Whirlpool, put the board near the oven door where it is subjected to extreme heat and melts!

A couple of years ago I replaced my Whirlpool gas range because after seven years, the house was growing a gas smell that was becoming stronger. I called the gas company and they determined that it was the oven and not their problem. I called an appliance person who could not find the leak but charged me for the service call. Before I had him leave though, I called the gas company back and had the two talk. There was a conflict with their assessments. The service guy left frustrated. The gas company guy came back and again checked and told me that the oven is definitely leaking. He told me they use instruments, not soap, to determine leaks. With this, I was mad at the appliance company. After voicing my frustration, they were going to allow me to purchase a similar new Whirlpool freestanding gas range at a discount and deliver it for free. I relented and spent close to $600 for the new range. After installation, I realized that the quality was cheaper than my old one. The metal rods in the oven racks are thinner and less of them so they are further apart. The cooktop grates are already wearing and chipping. But the thing that has irked me the most is the burners. You cant adjust them to low for a long simmer because the flame goes out, not immediately, but when youre not around to watch it; and the whole house smells of gas fumes! I called the appliance store and they said that because I didnt buy an extended warranty and that a year has already passed, I would have to pay for the service charge. I called Whirlpool and they said that they have not encountered this problem with their stoves yet. Even while on the phone, I could turn every burner on separately and the flame would go out in a circular motion as I turned the knob to low. The only suggestion they had was to call my appliance company and have them look at it. I got nowhere and I was quite frustrated! These Whirlpool stoves should be recalled! Gas leaks are dangerous! I will never buy a Whirlpool again!

A few weeks after we bought it, the washer was already having issues spinning out, and the clothes would have to go through another rinse and spin cycle. A bout a year and a half in and I had to replace the pump because it stopped draining. Even carefully loading the machine, and at least two or three times a week it would not spin out. Two weeks ago it stopped agitating actually performing washing action and spinning out all together. Last night I replaced the actuator which controls the speed or lack thereof in the spin. Still nothing. Ive reset it multiple times, still nothing. At least the clothes are getting wet. At tax return time I am replacing this piece if garbage and I will never get another whirlpool, or Maytag washer again because from what I have been told by dealers and repair men; they are all garbage.

But I need a washer that will clean farm clothes. My husband works hard and his clothes show it. This washer does not clean them. I even tried putting very few items in at a time. They still arent clean. I have to take my heavily soiled laundry to the laundromat. My other main complaint is the baffling feature of a lock mode. I purchased this washers predecessor, the WTW6200 in May of 09, along with the matching dryer. The bearings gave out after 36 months of use, and our household comprises two adults in their mid-fifties. Estimated cost of the repair? $650! Why am I posting this here? Because two weeks ago, my daughter-in-law called to say that shed so liked my machine when she visited in 09 - Id had the thing for two weeks at that time - that shed bought the WTW8500B and... the bearings were already giving out. I suggested she get the thing repaired, sell it immediately and replace it with an LG product, which is what Ive done. She has been put on a three-month waiting list for the repair, confirming my feeling that Whirlpool, as a whole, has gone down the tubes. Their service record is dreadful, with an excess of 20K complaints existing at various consumer agencies regarding ALL the Cabrio line, and their warranty, Ive learned, is considered the worst in the industry. All in all, the single worst purchase of my fifty-odd years.

Major plumbing work to rectify that. My complaint with Whirlpool is the washer doesnt work. It will partially fill and then stops. The wash light then lights up and nothing happens. Whirlpool Cabrio drain problem - I never had a washing machine that lets so much through to the drain pump. I replaced pump three times already. First of all, if you put anything with buttons in this machine, you can kiss it goodbye. This machine destroys clothes then lets buttons and coins and whatever through to destroy the fins on the discharge pump. When is the BBB going to do something about this consumer ripoff?

Purchased Whirlpool Duet wfw9550ww00 in 2012 from PC Rich, who purchased machines in 5/11. Product stopped being made 5 yrs prior. Of course I did not know until my washer went and had service come to my house. He explained prior information, looked at my machine for 2 seconds and said someone put in a heavy load that machine was not able to handle and 2 belts broke and guts of machine are destroyed. Its a $799 fix, not including labor, youre better off buying a new machine. How does he know thats the reason for breaking??? The machine is 2 years old, not a scratch on it!!! Unbelievable!!!! Then states thats $114 for the service call. $114 for 2 seconds!!! Im absolutely furious!!! Whirlpool has a new program (if it helps anyone), if your machine is fairly new they will give you a invoice for 1/2 off a new Whirlpool... Take it from there. There should be a tremendous action lawsuit, look at all these complaints...

We purchased the Whirlpool model# BFG1J4040T3NOV 40 gallon natural gas hot water tank in the spring of 2010. The pilot light went out this weekend, 2011. And it will re-light but does not stay lit. This was bought at Lowes, rated as a 9-year warranty on the tank and parts. This is premature failure of a product that is listed as 9 years. Due to all the other similar complaints of this Whirlpool hot water tank, I would like my money back plus installation. I do not want the Whirlpool replacement as obviously it does not work. I will use a different brand and vet it much better in the future. We almost purchased at Home Depot but decided it would be a better bet to go with the Whirlpool reputation and name and Lowes than with the only Home Depot option, which is the self branded water heaters. It was a big mistake!

The stove is only 5 years old. The oven would not ignite. The gas was getting through, but theres no flame. Sears repaired it and put a complete flame and ignitor piece at a cost for a part of $132.00. I feel the stove is too new to have to replace anything. I am retired, so I do not use the oven often. I have only cleaned the oven one time in five years. It is very clean. I picked this stove out and paid $900.00, because I liked the style and everything about it. I feel you should look into this, and I should not have to pay for repairs in such a short time of ownership. The repair person said this stove already had an upgrade in it. Please respond. Does the whole heating element need replacing or just the ignitor?

When we moved into our home this past year there was a Whirlpool gas stove model number W10406473A. We have the plastic knobs on the front of the stove which need to be pushed and turned in order to turn on the gas. I recently ran into a serious problem where my cat walked across the knob area and pushed and turned the knob causing the gas to come on the stove. This is a problem due to the fact that a child could have also have easily turned on this stove. This is a definite fire hazard as well as a carbon dioxide problem. I warn anyone with this stove to replace it with another make or model immediately. Im in the beginning mode of looking to see if a recall has ever been made on this model.

I am very unhappy with this Whirlpool refrigerator model# GX5FHDXVQ 04. I bought this model in October 2011. You have to push the left door to close it and if you dont then the fridge will stay open. I had a Whirlpool tech come to fix this door problem so this is what he told me: 1) You have to push the door in order to close it properly; 2) Before closing the left door, I should first open the right door (losing energy); 3) The gasket will break very fast; 4) Buy a three-year protection plan because you will have to use it; 5) The freezer is very uncomfortable. In the bottom drawer, you have to fit your stuff. If you put your freezer stuff in a drop higher, then you cant close the drawer, so I am losing space; 6) Sometimes when I fill up the fridge, I move the temperature to #5. After a day, the top shelf back stuff will freeze and the front stuff will stay on fridge temperature. Yesterday, 4-18-2012, for the second time, the freezer gets a sheet of ice. Repairman will repair it but who knows. This fridge looks to me like a lemon. The height is 70 but listed as. I rate this fridge with a CCC.

Please read if youre thinking about buying from Whirlpool - the Whirlpool front loading washing machine. Hmm, where do I start? Oh yeah, its a colossal piece of garbage. Four years ago my wife and I went shopping for a washer and dryer. We looked at quite a few and then we came across the Whirlpool front loading washer. Ah, the wave of the future. The end all solution to your washing needs. The best the market has to offer and at over $1,100, they should be. The salesman completely sold us on why we should spend a little extra for such a superior product. I thought, I work hard. I dont make a ton of money, but this sounds like a long term, worthwhile investment. Wrap it up, the washer and dryer combo. Fast forward 4 years later. Whats that awful clunking sound the washer is making? Oh, its the drum. Maybe its off center. I opened it up to find that the spider arm is broken. Isnt it only 4 years old? Surely they (Whirlpool) will fix this at no charge to the consumer because as I was told 4 years ago, this is the best technology. Now mind you, its just my wife and me. She doesnt have to do laundry for 50 people or even 4 for that matter. Calling Whirlpool (ring, ring, ring. Hello, this is Whirlpool), I explained to them what the problem is and that we have only had this magnificent piece of gold for 4 years. What can you do for me? Sorry sir, the machine is only warrantied for a year. Youll have to buy the $350 part to fix it. Reading between the lines, Youre screwed sucker. Thanks for the cash. Really, youre telling me that I spent almost $2,000 of my very hard earned money for a washer and dryer set, and after only 4 years of use you will not fix it? Allow me to paraphrase the reply in laymans terms. Nope, youre ** and thanks for the green. Here are my thoughts on Whirlpool. They are one of the worst companies out there for customer service. The front loading washing machine is a horrible product that should be pulled off the market and never be sold again. My experience with this company will never happen again because I will never ever buy another one of their products. So please, before you think about giving them your business by buying a front loading washing machine, think again. And remember this - I now have a $1,100 paperweight.

I have always loved the Whirlpool washer and dryer, namely because it is made in the USA, but the newer model Whirlpool is disappointing. The low water machines are not as effective as the older models. Even set on a 2 cycle rinse I get suds in the clothing. The spin cycle bunches up the clothing you can hardly shake them out before adding to the dryer.

Whirlpool makes a beautiful product that does not last. I bought model WRX988SIBM in April 2015. Two years later the compressor is bad and no warranty coverage. Do not buy this model. It does not carry the Whirlpool 2-5 year sealed refrigeration warranty. Its amazing that an appliance that retails over $3K only comes with a 1 year sealed refrigeration warranty when Whirlpool offers it on other models. Be sure you know what your warranty coverage is before you buy any Whirlpool product.

I have been TRYING replace a damaged panel on a $10,000.00 Jenn-Air refrigerator for over 10 months now!! Whirlpool is the supplier of Jenn-Air - I have probably spent at least 3 HOURS on the phone talking with one rep after another who ASSURES me they will deal with my problem!! Last week I gave my credit card # to the rep - who told me my part was sitting there, waiting for my # to be shipped. When I asked why no one had called me to let me know, especially considering the amount of time I have been waiting - she said she didnt know. One week later, I call AGAIN to find out why my credit card does not show the payment. Only this time to talk to a fellow who says my part is still on backorder, and they used my card # to put a $1.00 charge against it - to hold it for when my part arrives.. BUT has NO IDEA when that may be! I feel Angry, totally discouraged, lied to, and used! I will NEVER purchase any appliances under the Whirlpool affiliate. This is abhorrent customer service - a $10,000.00 appliance and this is how it is dealt with!!! Bad, very bad!!

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio for $1,100 because it was the largest capacity washer in our price range at the time. It has had very little use as I typically take my clothes to the laundry mat since it is anything but large capacity. I have always had problems with the buttons malfunctioning but I went to empty a load and the water was still standing in it - I got code ld and realized that the entire tub had broke off and dropped into the bottom of the machine. Where is the class-action law suit? I want to be the first name on it. I dont have $1,100 to waste on junk. Whirlpool should be ashamed.

I have a Cabrio washer displaying the F-1 error code. I called on Thursday, the 15th of Sept. I spoke to Vicky in the Cleveland, TN division. She told me that the F-1 code on my machine (model no. WTW6600SW2 and serial no. **) was covered under a recall at no cost, parts or labor (I specifically asked this question). She set up a service repair ticket with Freds Appliance at 888-453-7337 and gave me the date. I was home waiting when they called. The driver drove in the drive and asked if he was there for my Jenn-Air cook top! I said no, the F-1 error code on the washer. He explained that he had just used the last control board last week and he changes them frequently. I called Whirlpool. A very snotty Ashley proceeded to tell me that nothing was covered and I would have to pay. I asked for a supervisor and Ratna answered after a hold of 45 minutes on my cell. I explained the situation. After begging, she proceeded to tell me that she would pay for parts only. I explained that the tech did not have the parts, didnt even know the correct appliance, and now I have to take another day off work to meet him to have my washer fixed. I have not used the washer in two weeks. I used to only buy Whirlpool products. After reading all the complaints about the same error code from other consumers, I believe there are enough complaints that we as consumers should be protected.

The knob on the Gas Cook top stove from Whirlpool (Part no: W10594481) is very poorly designed. It is very flimsy and breaks easily inside. Outside it still looks intact, but if you examine it on the reverse side, where it actually fits into the cooktops metal rod to turn the gas up or down, we can see it breaks there, as it is made of very cheap plastic. Although it is supposed to be a Stainless steel knob, it is actually all plastic where it matters most. I bought the new cook top from Whirlpool in 2014 and within a year have replaced all the knobs as they were breaking once every couple of months. I am still having this problem after 2 years now. I have contacted Whirlpool and have asked for a solution to this problem. They dont have any, other than offering a new version of the knob which costs $10 more and it is not easily available anywhere. I feel very cheated that I got a poor quality product and no help from them on fixing the problem.

After we took the door off, the drawers out, and the back panel off, then we started thawing the drain. Finally, I got it cleared out. Here I am, a month later, there’s water on the floor again.

I purchased GMH6185XVS microwave in Dec. 2011. It was installed in January 2012. This was for a remodel kitchen with all Whirlpool appliances. In August 2014, we discovered the micro would not heat. I called Whirlpool as directed by Sears. I am told I have to call a repair service and pay for it. I have a 14 year old Whirlpool in my home. We have never had a problem with it. I had a Whirlpool micro in my previous home; never a problem. This is a second home that we hardly ever use. We are two adults. My daughter had the same problem with the same microwave. I am very upset with Sears as well as Whirlpool. Even if I used this machine everyday, it should not break in 2.5 years. Shame on both Whirlpool and Sears. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again. I will be telling everyone I know.

We bought a Gold Series dishwasher on 2/12/2013. It stopped working properly and we had a service call on August 6, 2013. Since then, we have had 3 companies come out 5 different times to try to fix the machine. Nothing on the top rack gets clean. In fact ,they come out dirtier than when they go in. The last service call was on October 7, 2013. I was told by a Whirlpool representative that the repairman would call technical services and that if the problem was not solved, that the machine would be deemed unrepairable and that Whirlpool would replace the machine since it was within the warranty. I was also told that their standard is that if a machine has to have 3 service repairs to be deemed unrepairable. So 7 days after the last repair, the machine was still not washing correctly. Once again everything on the top rack was dirty. The machine has had the motor, the pump, and the hoses replaced. Still doesnt work. So I called again to get the ball rolling on replacing the machine and was told that they would not replace the machine and that I needed to have another repairman come out and sit in front of the machine and call technical service. Apparently, the previous repairman didnt follow their instructions. I called and complained twice, I guess Whirlpool thinks that as consumers we have the ability to change work schedules, school schedules, take vacation time, etc. to wait around for the 6th service call, and wait through the 5-hour window that we are given for the repairman to get there. Well we dont. Obviously I have given Whirlpool plenty of opportunities to fix this problem. They havent been able to do so with 3 different companies. There comes a time when you just stop kicking the dead horse. Now is that time. If they cant figure out whats wrong the first time, and not the second time, and not the third time, why do they think the 6th time is the charm? Because I got so upset with them, they referred me to a customer care manager. She called and left me a message, and I have been calling her now for 2 days with no success on her DIRECT line nonetheless. My phone calls are not returned. I wont even go into how many customer service reps told me a different story every time I called. Whirlpools customer service doesnt care about their consumers. They dont care about our complaints. Now I have a $600 piece of junk. I will never buy another Whirlpool product. I will make sure that every person I know that is looking at appliances knows about what a horrible company Whirlpool is. They just put crap in a shiny package!

This is a good customer service (CS) review. Whirlpool knows about the defect and continues to distribute the fridge this way. We have a Whirlpool model #WRF757SDEM01 we purchased this year (2017). We love the size and the fact that the ice bin is in the door and takes up very little room. Our only complaint prior to this issue was the ice and water do not always come out gracefully. So we were happy overall till a large block of ice formed in the back of the fridge. My original call to CS was great. They did not ask me a bunch of stupid questions, just said that should not be happening and scheduled a service call.Service guy knew exactly what it was because he had repaired the same model with the same issue several times. It is a defect in the dual cooling/defrost system that Whirlpool knows about, but continues to produce. Two parts need to be replaced and one part had to be ordered. Which was not a big deal since two days were needed to thaw out the mini glacier. We lost food so I made a second call to CS and again there were no stupid questions or arguments. They got a $75 debit card in the mail to us. So I thank Whirlpools CS reps, but sure wish the manufacturing side of things were a little more diligent in production. Certainly this cost them money on all accounts.

In March 04 2014, I purchased a Whirlpool washing machine. After having had a Whirlpool for 17 years without any problems with it, I purchased another one. This last one is a piece of junk. I dont even want to talk about the noise, I think it is expiring or on its last leg. They should fire the engineers that invented this model and bring back the other engineers that invented the one I had for such a long time, they far surpassed these space scientists that they now have. On August 8, I called Whirlpool, they sent me someone from Dinos appliances. This man tells me that there is nothing wrong with this machine and that he re-calibrated it. Whatever that means, it is still not wringing the clothes properly. There are only 2 people in my household, so my loads are not very large. I even tried this Drain & Spin cycle after the wash was completed and the clothes still came out too wet. I also have a Whirlpool Dryer and I will not replace it with the same brand. I also will never buy a Whirlpool product again and will make sure that I will share my experience with everyone I know.

I contacted the warranty provider and was told that the repair would not be covered under warranty and the damage was operator error. I purchased a new lid for approx. $250. One year later the replacement lid broke in the same location. I have tried to get a response from Whirlpool no response. I contacted Parts Select and inquired about changes that should have been made to correct the lids. He was not aware of any changes but did advise that the part had a new number which he indicated probably meant a design change. I ordered a new lid just under $250. New machines have a metal frame around the glass instead of the plastic frame which keeps failing. The springs that hold the lid in the upright position are so stiff I can hardly move them by hand. I bought a Whirlpool gas hot water heater in 2005. In the first 12 months I replaced either 4 or 5 thermocouples and a total of between 15 and 20 from the time I bought it in 2006 and 2012. Only 1 time did the company replace one of them. When I would call them the rep would say things like, There may not be enough ventilation or Was it installed by a licensed technician? The 1 time they did take care of a problem the technician they sent out said NOTHING was wrong with the ventilation or the way it was installed. Oh yea, Customer Service told me that they did me a FAVOR (exact word) when they did that.In 2012 the hot water heater went out for good. The company would NOT do anything about it. I took it back to Lowes where I got it and they replaced it for me since the manufacturer wouldnt. The new hot water heater went out after only 3 years. I turned the hot water on and it was not getting hot so I checked the hot water heater to see what was going in. I found the pilot was burning, but the burner was not burning. We have also had many problems with 3 year old convection oven. After about 2 months the broiler would just come on in the bake mode. I called Whirlpool about this problem and they were a bit ignorant on the matter. They said they could arrange a service call, but if they did not find the same problem mentioned that I could be charged a service call, even though it is under warranty. I denied at the time and the problem did not happen again for about another 1-1/2 years or so. In the last few months it has happened a number of times and the one time my wife leaves the room, the potpie burns up. She also lost a pan of brownies. Now we make sure that someone is in the kitchen when the oven is in use. Today the broiler comes on while pre-heating and for the 1st time we receive a message TURN OFF POWER TO RESET in which I did thru the breaker. It took forever to cool down, then she is going to try again. I also am going to contact Whirlpool and see what they have to say. Last I checked there was no recall for this model (#GFE461LVS), but there should be after reading all of the complaints or they are bound to have a lawsuit on their hands or maybe even a class action lawsuit.

My brother bought my 80-year-old mom this range so that she could bake all her delicious desserts with ease in a new beautiful oven. I was at her house visiting and saw that she was down on her hands and knees cleaning her SELF-CLEANING OVEN. She tried several times using the useless AQUALIFT FEATURE but to no avail. In this day and age with self-cleaning technology, WHY would Whirlpool install this unbelievable bad AQUALIFT cleaning feature? To see my poor mother scrubbing the inside of the oven like she did back in the 50s & 60s just completely appalling!! PLUS the top surface enamel is bubbling up with rust and the oven is only 2-3 years old. So we are trying to contact Best Buy to see if we can get a refund on this HORRIBLE appliance.

If you want clean clothes dont buy this machine(Cabrio Washer)! First of all I find that my clothes have dry spot on them when I pull them out of the machine. Whirlpools response is that the machine spins at such a high rate that the cloth will actually seem dry. Doesnt make sense to me that a shirt that has another garment on top of it gets dry in an unexposed area. I have also been told to always use the high water setting. This helps but the clothes still are not clean. Also my dark slacks come out with residue lines on them - Whirlpools solution; never wash anything in cold water. In addition the machine is very noisy. It sounds like the water pipes are being kicked out of the wall. And forget about washing a king size comforter as advertised, a twin comforter doesnt get clean or even thoroughly wet and residue lines are left behind. Hate this machine! So glad I didnt buy the extended warranty since my attempts to have them stand behind this product have failed. I feel the money would be better used towards a different brand.

I purchased a Whirlpool over the range microwave (model #YWMH31017AS-1) in April 2013, and had it installed in August of same year. It worked fine up until November 2014 - just over one year later. Everything on it works, except for the most important feature - IT DOESNT HEAT ANYTHING UP. Doesnt matter how long you set the timer for - the contents come out stone cold! I called Whirlpools 1-800 number and was told that because I did not purchase the extended warranty, I was responsible for all parts and labor costs. I find this completely unacceptable! I have had cheap $70 microwaves that have lasted 15-20 years. I will never buy another Whirlpool product, and am telling everyone I know to do the same!

Whirlpool anode rod went bad in 2 months. Called Whirlpool, would not stand behind warranty. Had previous hot water tank (not a Whirlpool) in for 10 years with same well and water conditions. Also noticed Whirlpool hot water tank is not nearly as efficient on energy use. Overall, this is a very poor water heater and even worse customer service to not replace a part that was under warranty.

Good News!! Finally a permanent fix & possible recall. My Whirlpool Gold bottom freezer was 18 months old and Out of Warranty. It leaked water on my floor like all the rest. I called and was told I had to pay the service charge. Speak with a SUPERVISOR!!! They sent a repairman who said a Kit had just come out to fix this. I had to defrost the unit for a day and he returned with the kit. Part number is W10309238. The repairman believes they will be doing a recall and fix these drains. Insist on speaking with a Supervisor!!! Get results, they will do it as it is a design flaw. The repair took about twenty minutes. Here in Ottawa, Ontario call Youngs Appliance for more info.

The stove is okay except it scratches on its glass surface fairly easy with the non-stick pans. Also wished it had a self-cleaning oven. Its not the easiest to clean on the inside of the oven. The knobs are easy to use but its hard to navigate knobs to low to keep food warm rather than cooking at a low temperature. It has strong exhaust fan that really does its job.

We purchased a Whirlpool 5 top burner gas range in 2008. The oven stopped working. It would click 2-3 times, heat to 100 degrees then stop. Luckily, the range was still in the 1 year warranty. WP sent a tech out who eventually deemed it non-repairable. WP replaced the range. We were sent a letter offering an extended warranty plan May/June 2012. We took advantage considering our troubles with the first range. In October 2012, we noticed the oven started the same problem (2-3 clicks and would not ignite). In addition, the top burner clicks on its own to the point to having to unplug it. Since then, we have not plugged it back in for we feel it’s not safe! We have been working with WP Extended Service Plan (ESP). The obligor is the Federal Warranty Service Corp. for 2 months, ruining our Thanksgiving and now a few weeks till Christmas, our family is still without a range/oven. The ESP claims the damage is from chewed wiring from rodents. We live near fields that have just been cut; mice are coming into our home. However, when the tech came out, finally, he claims there are no chewed wires and the part he has to fix the oven is not worth putting in and will contact the ESP claims department to deem the range/oven non-repairable. This is the second range/oven - its doing the exact same problem as the first but ESP refuses to help us. The last supervisor would not do anything. We requested his ID# and he hung up on us. I contacted WP directly and waiting to if they can help.

I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (WWT5640xw0) at Lowes in East Orland
I purchased my Whirlpool Cabrio Washer (WWT5640xw0) at Lowes in East Orlando in 2009. It has worked without issue (other than a slight odor) from then until today, 5-1-12. It has now refused to agitate or spin any clothing, it emits a slight burning smell from the basket, and the basket, when it does decide to spin, spins about as fast as a merry-go-round, banging into the sides of the washer (causing the metal on the sides to bulge out every time it strikes them). It is self-destructing.I called Whirlpool, and they simply refused to address any questions, once I told them that I did not have an extended service plan and that my unit was older than 12 months. I informed them that I refused to pay for an ESP, because I refuse to pay additional monies in order for the product to perform as advertised. They were rude. I said bad words. The call ended.$600 was gone. And I now have to run out and buy another washer, and I can promise you it will not be a Whirlpool. I am a local law enforcement officer. I would love to speak with an attorney about this if a class action suit is pending. I am beyond pissed. My moms chartreuse-colored Maytag still works after almost 30 years of service to our family. It required a new drive belt at somewhere around year 17. The belt cost $45.The Whirlpool CS rep informed me in a surprisingly snarky fashion that it would probably cost over $360 for the total cost of repair and that the only way to know exactly how much is to schedule a service call. I was also told that I would be on the hook for $100 for the service call even if I declined the repair.

Whirlpool’s customer service is one of the worst I have encountered. They consider a 6-7 year old $1500.00 range to be old! I said to her, “Wow, if the population was to throw their Whirlpool appliances into the landfills after 7 years, this would be quite a horrendous situation.” I think its disgusting for a company to build appliances with a shelf life of 6-7 years and with only a 1-year warranty! What a horrible brand! I will never buy another Whirlpool brand product ever again. You spend $1500.00 on a range oven and then around 5 to 7 years the control board blows out and costs another $500.00 to replace plus a service agents fee to remove and install.I asked the Whirlpool agent if I could get the control board discounted and she refused and said, “I am sorry, we are unable to help you.” Pathetic! Their cost on these boards is around $120.00 or so. I was told by an appliance service rep they could discount that $500.00 board even half and still make a decent profit. Do not ever buy Whirlpool. Go with other brands instead. Their customer service policies are horrible. Your hard-earned money will be buying an appliance with a 6 to 7-year shelf life before major repairs.

My whirlpool duet was extremely quiet the first few times I used it and seemed to work well. Then I noticed that it randomly drained the clothes but didnt spin them, it did it on different cycles, and I would have to run the load again on spin and drain, another 19 minutes of run time. After a week it began to make metal scrapping sounds on the spin cycle and vibrated to the point that it moved the pictures on my walls. I called Whirlpool customer service and they authorized a service call. In short, the service man was very confrontational told me there was nothing wrong and charged me $72. It still vibrates and randomly doesnt spin. But now after he took it apart it sounds like a jet engine when it does spin. Whirlpoolss response after repeated calls? I saw on the Today Show that my Whirlpool Duet washer, purchased in 2008 was a mold-producing nightmare. We are now part of a class action lawsuit that seeks redress. When I called Whirlpool Customer Service, I was fed the company line that the problem is that we dont clean the machine regularly. I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in 2014. It is a side by side with ice maker in the door. About 8 month ago the ice machine stopped working. I called an appliance repair center and they diagnosed the problem as being the control board for the ice machine. After only 3 years this stopped working? I gave them to OK to fix it. A few days later I was informed that the part is on backorder for a few months. Well a few months has become 6 months and no part is available. I contacted Whirlpool and they called me and promised a solution, but then they never contacted me again. So it is almost 7 months later and I still have no ice. How can a relatively newer product break down and then not have a part available? Whirlpool absolutely does NOT care about their customers and does NOT back their products. Stay away at all costs.

WFW97HEDW, WGD95HEDW American made and equivalent to LG and Kenmore. Size fitted our space available. Price was a bit higher than the Korean models with similar or better features. We bought and returned three consecutive Whirlpool models from Sears. Though we never really got to put the dryers to the test, nor did they fail, the washers were of such a poor quality that they broke down within 1-2 weeks of installation. Eventually we switched to LG and have had no problems. When the Whirlpool fails it locks your clothes inside and to open and retrieve your clothes is just short of impossible. WHIRLPOOL WASHER FOR SALE! Your clothes will come out just a bit dirty, but thats OK isnt it? (You can see for yourself.) Oh yeah the Smell. OMG, its a heavenly Wet Dog smell. I know youll be as happy as I am with this WHIRLPOOL CABRIO WASHER. I almost forgot to mention, that most clothes will come out dry (not because of the high power spinning cycle) so youll save on your power bill, since you’re not using the dryer... This is a must have WHIRLPOOL CABRIO WASHER - NEW, ENERGY EFFICIENT. Youll use little to no water, another savings! But youll spend a wee bit more for the HE detergent, sorry! Oh yeah I forgot to mention its still under WHIRLPOOL 1 YEAR WARRANTY. Youll BE GLAD YOU PURCHASED THIS WONDERFUL MACHINE... Just as I am! :-)Back ground & Information about problems: A) We purchased the Cabrio Model# WTW5840BW0 washer 8 months ago and it has been nothing but trouble. And yes Im very busy in the summer - always on the go with school, kids, vacation, homework, finals, and work, etc. For the past 2.5 months. Started off by not spinning out, first problem. Does not fill up on deep washer cycle. Clothes come out as dirty as when I put them in. I have pictures. Some clothes never get wet; no water touches them (Small/Large loads). Now whites are coming out with yellow blotches on them. The clothes smell like Wet Dog - yes wet dog. Ive used the Powerball cleaner three times in 8 months. Yes, a service man has been out. He recalibrated everything. Now it’s worse. He is/has ordered ALL new computer parts, and I do mean ALL. If you need to replace every computer part on a brand new machine, I feel as if this alone, is a red flag… Wouldnt you agree?Im not happy with your Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and no longer want this washer. Maybe a different one, but not this one! It has been nothing but a headache. What can be done? Ive called Whirlpool USA 4-5 time being on endless hold @ the 800-253-1301 number and finally today is the first time talking to a rep. The young man was nice; however Im still no closer to getting this machine fixed today! Ugh. I would not recommend the CABRIO WASHER to anyone at this point. You can understand, cant you? B) Sad ;-( I had to tell my husband he was right and I was wrong about the new washer, and not to mention the smell he has been complaining about. Yuck...Explanation: I had washed towels in the new WHIRLPOOL and did not get around to folding them. Then after washing last night outside (yes outside) in the ole GE. I was folding the towels and happened to pick up the first set washed (Whirlpool); put them to my face and sniffed, yuck! WET DOG came to mind. Then sniffed the ones washed in the GE and he was right. I was wrong! Ugh... A $800+ Whirlpool is in the laundry room yet, Im outside on the deck - again yes Im hanging out with the mosquitoes on our deck washing clothes with the good ole GE. (It’s outside because it need a shutoff switch, or something like that.) Lesson learned the expensive way, dont buy a computerized Whirlpool washer. Its money down the drain... Needless to say Im not happy at all with this product.

My Whirlpool refrigerator model #ED5FHEXV001, serial #HR0248 - I have spoken to a couple of reps on the phone. I am very dissatisfied because it was like one rep I spoke with on the telephone advised me to buy an extended warranty and at that time, the company would consider alternative ways to deal with this complaint and perhaps replace the refrigerator. I did not want to pay an additional $100 for a warranty, unless the company would guarantee me a solution, preferably my money back. I did not really believe the warranty would help me after the warranty was expired. I would still have the same problem and I feel that in the event after the extra warranty expired, the company would tell me I should have kept the coils clean, which is my complaint. There is no way to keep the coils clean. I guess blowing out the residue, then all that residue material would end up all in my house. Also, very important, there have been 3-4 technicians to my house the first year. I was told various things to do, such as adjust the refrigerator to a lower setting and freezer to a little higher setting. One tech actually replaced a part? The second tech said he would clean the coils. The last tech told me the problem was my coils had to stay clean. My question is, how the heck is that possible with the coils on the bottom of the fridge and susceptible to a lot of dust and dirt, unless I move my fridge everyday? Most people do not expect to have to clean under the fridge each day and the coils would still be dirty anyway. It is very dumb that the coils are not on the back of the fridge. With the fridge coils on the back, I have never experienced this problem. Please advise what my next step would be. Thank you.

I got the Cabrio Washer and Dryer set in December of 2015. By March of 2016, the heating element and dryer door latch had broken. Had to have those repaired. By June of 2016 and since, Ive had several repairman out to the house trying to figure out whats wrong with my washer. 9 times out of 10, it will not spin the excess water out and the clothes are soaked. Sometimes it takes me an hour to get the washer to go through a spin cycle. Sometimes the washer wont go into a cycle at all, it just makes a horrible noise (like its draining) and never does anything. It doesnt put out enough water in larger loads, so Ive had to cut my load size in half. It wont work on half the cycle options on the screen, only working on bulky or heavy. Wont wash on normal or quick wash or any of the others. It will make that same horrible sound and do nothing. Nobody can tell me whats wrong with the stupid washer and the repairman said he sees issues with Whirlpool all the time. He said save myself money and buy something else. But I remember a time when a washer and dryer would last for 20 years. What happened to quality products and craftsmanship. I am so tired of the new and fancy appliances that dont last and these companies that dont stand behind their products. Whirlpool you should be ashamed. I will never buy another one of your products. There should be a recall on these particular Cabrio units especially after all the horrible reviews I just read.

We purchased a Whirlpool front loading washer about three years ago. During our first year the machine worked OK, but three months after warranty expiration (12 month warranty), the sensors seems to go wonky and it no longer worked (at 15 months of age). We paid about $95 in the Minneapolis area for a service call. The repairman had to call Whirlpool from our home to inquire about the sequence of flashing lights on the sensor. After getting off the phone he told us he thought he knew the problem, but could not guarantee that the $200+ part he suggested ordering would solve the problem. The installation would require additional labor charges, of course. I reported the incident to the manager of the repair service and was told the repairman was expert in Whirlpools but this did not further inspire confidence. We were not willing to sink this amount into the machine, so ditched it and bought a top-loading inexpensive Roeper. The top-loading machine definitely appears harder on the clothes than the front loading Whirlpool, but it gets the clothes cleaner and has been problem-free so far.

Purchased a brand new Whirlpool hot water heater, but it has never worked properly. The 1-800 help line has been no help at all. Every call results in another step we have to complete before they can fix the problem. Bottom line - never, ever, ever buy a Whirlpool product. They dont know the meaning of customer service.

We purchased a brand new Whirlpool fridge & electric range. Tried the oven on 3/22/14. Turned it on at 350 for 30 minutes. Waited for the new smell to go away. Then turned the temp up to 375. My husband put a frozen lasagna dinner in. 25 minutes later the inside oven door window exploded into the oven and the dinner. Found out the outside window usually explodes. We were lucky. The dealer we bought it from let us exchange it right away. Filed a report with the CSPC and am trying to find out how to file a complaint with Whirlpool.
