Water heater was defective from the factory with a pinched wire between the thermostats. After replacing everything on the heater Whirlpool would not reimburse any parts or labor for the unit... Whirlpool is dead to me now, and forever and I love to tell my story to prospective buyers of their products!!! So far, to date I have cost them about 14 sales of major appliances (and still counting!!!). After reading some reviews… Im (sorry, I omitted the personal insults) in respect of your review guidelines.

Do not buy Whirlpool or Maytag appliances. They do not stand by their products. We have purchased 2 washing machines in the past 8 years. Both of them quit or broke almost as fast as we got them. The customer service agents were pleasant, but they would not help us at all. The machine we purchased has a design flaw that they will not acknowledge. They have been contacted by us several times and cant fix the problem. They need to correct a design flaw that is in all their machines. All of our clothes get encircled around the agitator and the machine gets off balance. We have to untangle our clothes from the agitator and pull them apart by hand. They make bad products, including a Whirlpool refrigerator that broke within a month of us buying it. They care about selling these crappy machines. Buy a GE, Bosch or LG. You will get a machine that works properly as soon as you hook it up. We have had their representative out several times to our house and they could not repair it. The repair techs have told us that Maytag and Whirlpool clothes washers are no good.

We purchased our home brand new in June 2010 and with it came all Whirlpool appliances. We started having cosmetic problems with our over the counter microwave about 2 years later (model WMH2175XVS-2). The plastic casing around the door handle started to crack on the top and the bottom and now both pieces are completely gone as they fell off. The handle is still attached and the microwave is usable; however, it looks shoddy. To replace it, we were told by a Whirlpool authorized repair person that you would have to replace the whole door at a cost of $300 or more if you include labor. I am disappointed that this happened and that we cant get it repaired. It makes me think again about purchasing more Whirlpool appliances.

We bought the set washer/ drier from Lowes in 2008. The first problem was that it wasnt rinsing well. After finishing the washing cycle, clothes were still dripping water. It took us to make several phones calls to get the problem solved. Also, the clothes were smelling bad and needed to be wash again. Now we are having another situation that it start the wash cycle but it wont finish and shows a code F35 or sud.

This washer was expensive, platinum line. Clothes never smelled fresh and clean like they should. There is not enough water to cover and clean. After 4 years it started smelling dank and unpleasant even after cleaning cycle is run. Now I discover it has been leaking for quite a while. It will be 6 years old in July. The top wont stay up. This happened months ago. The part alone is 250.00 according to several sites. I just prop it up. Very displeased with this poorly constructed, expensive rip off!

I will make this short. If there was a part that could break on my Whirlpool fridge, it broke. Whirlpools 3rd party repair company (Flamingo Appliance Services, who are awful themselves) was at my home countless times. This last time, they were replacing the same malfunctioning part for the THIRD TIME. The Flamingo technician (Nicholas) insured me that the issues were not related, despite the same exact part being replaced 3 times. I told him that I believed that was a dishonest statement, and he left the fridge un-repaired. Now Whirlpool nor Flamingo will help, and I am stuck with a non-functional fridge, and small children at home. Whirlpool and Flamingo represent everything I despise, have zero integrity, and are a reading on the barometer of where our country is headed.

I love the look and performance of my Whirlpool Dishwasher. It could be a bit quieter, but overall I have no complaints. My washer was already installed in my home when I purchased it and I must say, it helps when the family gets together and you don't feel like washing the dishes. The dual chamber pod holder is great if you need to use and the heat function works wonderful. I don't have the problem of the left over water that a lot of dishwashers leave behind and no spots!

Avoid Whirlpool refrigerators and dishwashers. Fridge sounds like someone’s trying to get out. Repair person said it’s icemaker and typical. Dishwasher has little friction gaskets that keeps the door from falling open. They’ve been replaced twice and found one on floor today. Plastic end of slider for upper shelf keeps falling off repairman replaced it showed me how to put it back on. This falls off regularly. Range has coils underliner of oven. Takes forever to preheat and self cleaner cycle is a joke. Million dollar condo with upgraded crap appliances.

We bought this Whirlpool Cabrio washer 2 years ago and have hated it since
We bought this Whirlpool Cabrio washer 2 years ago and have hated it since the first load. It does not clean clothes, and the so-called large capacity will barely clean 5 regular towels. And if you wash diapers, do not buy this washer. If a load is really dirty, you have to wash it 2 or 3 times for clothes to be clean. Then, there is the awful mildewy, moldy smell after a few washes. How can a washer that gets so bacteria-laden be allowed to be sold on the market. Ive been washing laundry for 45 years, and Ive never had this kind of wash-related problems. This washer is an overpriced nightmare. I cannot wait until I can save enough to replace it. And I am watching and hoping a class action suit comes out to force Whirlpool to take these washers back, refund the money spent, and apologize to all the people who purchased one.

Whirlpool Clothes Washer Model WTW4930XW1 - We have experienced tub overfilling on (2) separate occasions with this washer model in a period of time of less than (2) years. Through extended warranty service purchased, a technician came out the first time; declared nothing explainable to cause the malfunction, re-calibrated the control panel, and off he went. This second event occurred much the same as the first; happened to walk in to notice water on laundry room floor and witnessed overflow out the lid on top. We have carefully washed additional loads after this second event without a similar malfunction. From my online research, this sure sounds like a faulty pressure switch not sensing high water level in the tub. Any other thoughts?

We purchased a new Whirlpool dishwasher in June of 2014. By February 2015 the racks were rusting. I called loses warranty and they referred me to Whirlpool since it was still under a year old and covered by the manufacturer warranty. They said no problem and would have new ones sent out. Three months later I still did not get them. I called them back and they said that they were not covering them due to rust being normal. This is the absolute worst customer service and it says a lot about how Whirlpool stands behind their products.

I am so disappointed in my whirlpool W10431035A gold series dishwasher. I bought this 2 yrs and 2 months ago on black Friday at a lowes. I wanted to have a whirlpool and I thought they were a good brand. It has been a little over 2 years and my dishwasher no longer works. The start button no longer works. It is not even that old and appliances should at least last 4 years. I could understand if the plastic utensil holder or dishwasher rack breaks...fine, you use plastic. But this is an intricate part of the dishwasher....the start button and it does not work. I am so disappointed in whirlpool. It is the start button...how can this break. The only thing I do is press normal cycle and the start button...that is it. How can this machine break so easily. How can whirlpool build and sell such a faulty product. So disappointed.

Informed that because washer was 1 year out of warranty. It was 2 years old. Parts were not guaranteed. Cost to repair $400.00 including labor. Maytag Store came to my rescue and it only cost $200.00. 2 years later, washer is not filling with water correctly. Have mixed feelings about repairing or replacing. If replacing, how to select a reliable washer. How do you select, if when we purchased this washer it was rated very high. Whirlpool does not help with any issue. They were extremely rude. Felt helpless dealing with them. Need a new washer and have no idea which brand to go with.

This is new and replaced an old model that was not doing the job. This new one seems to be ever so much better. The dishes are clean and I no longer have a white residue on the dishes and utensils. It is easy to load. I miss having a silverware separator for the holder because the silverware tends to be too close to each other. I always rinse things well before putting them into the machine because I usually run the machine about once a week. Overall, this is a good machine for the price I paid. I am loyal to Whirlpool and this one on sale was a very good value. Very pleased.

Ive had it with Whirlpool products. I am now getting rid of my third Whirlpool microwave in just eight years. Every one of them had the same exact problem and Whirlpool continues to deny there is a manufacturing defect. Each of them developed a hairline crack extending through the bottom screw of the door handle to the glass on one side and the outside door frame on the other. The beat goes on. My Cabrio washer is still down. After working for a mere 14 months, the control board died, and the machine would not spin out water. The repairman ordered a new one. Though the part arrived several days earlier than predicted, the repair service said they could not send anyone out, until our scheduled appointment. At last, today, the repairman arrived. I am ready to start whittling down the mountains of laundry we have stuffed in every closet. Some areas of my house are starting to smell like a locker room. It is not convenient for us to haul everything to a laundromat, or impose on a relative who lives nearby. The repairman was in the laundry room for at least 45 minutes, and then very apologetically tells us that the part is bad. It will not work at all. He has ordered a new one, and requested rush service, which I think they will ignore. I cant help but think these parts are manufactured somewhere outside the USA. Well, listen to this Whirlpool, I would rather pay $25 more for this part, and have your washing machine work. Dirty laundry might seem unimportant to you. It is not unimportant to us! If you cant do better than this, make something else. I am furious, and will spread this news to everyone I know, and I will report on this situation again.

I have had my Whirlpool W10280546B HE washer for 1 1/2 years. For the last year, I have had constant problems with the washer leaving a large amount of residue (in spots) all over my laundry. I have always run my washer as instructed, and I only used HE detergent in the correct amount. This residue appears to be fine lint, but may be lint combined with detergent.I have used the washing machine cleaning tablets and powders, but this has not helped at all. No one seems to have ever heard of this problem. I have to clean off these spots which cover approximately 1/3 of each article with every washing. The dryer helps get some of it off, but not nearly all of it. Any suggestions besides buying another washer of another brand after only 1 1/2 years?!

My 3 year old Whirlpool refrigerator costing $1285.86, needs a new motor and fan. Of course it died right after a trip to the grocery store. On a week temperatures were well into the 90 degree range. Needless to say my groceries had to be thrown out at a cost of an additional $250. How convenient that the refrigerator died 2 months after the 3 year protection plan ran out. I just spent $182.94 to have a repair person come and check out the refrigerator. I will need to spend another $170.00-$200.00 for the motor and fan once the parts come in, which can take up to another 10 days. Had to go out and buy a backup refrigerator that cost $562.38. Also had an issue with this refrigerator after a year and half with ice building up in the bottom of the freezer. Luckily we had the protection plan at that time, otherwise that would have cost us $157.58. The refrigerator is stainless steel and I have a terrible time keeping the rust off the front of it. At this point l guess all I can do is warn everyone I know to never buy a Whirlpool appliance if this is an indication of how they manufacture their products. So very disgusted with this refrigerator! Sad my old Frigidaire was close to 30 years old when the freezer just wasnt freezing well anymore. Thats why my new backup refrigerator is a Frigidaire and not a Whirlpool.

We bought a new Whirlpool dishwasher with a kitchen reno. It cost over $1000. One month out of warranty the pump died. As this is apparently a common thing with these dishwashers the company sent a new pump, free of charge, but we still had to pay $150 for the install. I bought my Whirlpool Cabrio (washer and dryer) in August 2007 ($1800 for the pair). I love these machines. I have only had one problem with it (I had to have a valve replaced - about $380, the machine made a screeching noise when it filled with water). Otherwise, I have never experienced any of the problems listed above. I bought this machine because I was pregnant and chose to do cloth diapers. I was doing nearly 20 loads a week at one point. Now, I do about 4 loads a week (would be about 8 loads in a normal machine). I love that the tub is HUGE and I can fit 2 sets of double sheets plus towels in one load. My clothes always come out clean and near dry.I wash everything in it - even dry clean only using the hand wash cycle. Prior to this purchase, my clothes were not clean. I could still smell deodorant in all my t-shirts and blouses. Not any more. Its the best purchase I ever made. Although, Ive always wondered why you have to clean a washing machine monthly when... well, its cleaning clothes anyway.

WHIRLPOOL WTW5000DWO WASHING MACHINE TOP LOADING 2014 MODEL - I purchased this above model at Lowes of Hagerstown MD. The first problem I had with the washing machine was the spin cycle did not wring out the clothes. The second problem was the spin cycle caused the washer to start walking. The washer was leveled prior to washing the clothes also water was still running into the washer after it cycled off. I call Lowes the next day and told them my problems and they replaced the unit with the same model. The delivery came and I hooked up the washer and placed a few items in the washer and allowed it to cycle through. The washer did the same thing all over again. It did not spin the clothes out and the water continued to pour in the washer. And spun out of balance. I contacted Lowes and advised them I was having the same problem. I also told them my cousin had the same model and they were also having the same problem. Lowes offered to replace the unit with a different model so I selected Samsung washing machine and I have it scheduled for delivery tomorrow. Also I wanted to let you know that the price difference was 100 Dollars more for the Samsung and Lowes told me that I would have to pay the difference. I told them I have been inconvenienced twice and I will not pay the difference, they then call in the store manager and he override the difference. Lowes of Hagerstown will try their best to make it right, its sad that the mfg will not bring a product to the market that will do what it is advertised. The federal and state government should fine these companies and replace the defective models when reported. Do it right the first time and you wont have a repeat of the same problems. Also not use the consumer as a guinea pig to try out new products.

I bought my Whirlpool Cabrio Top Loading HE washing machine and dryer duo in February 2009. I carried an additional extra extended warranty for an extra 3 years. Now, at the dispenser where you add the bleach, it has rusted. The rust has gotten so bad the lid has detached from the body of the machine. I cant understand how a machine less than 4 years old could rust so badly. I called Whirlpool to complain and they suggested I get it repaired and my cost. A car that sits outside in rain, sun, snow and hail does not rust in 3 years. I bought the machines from Home Depot. The way Whirlpool has handled this, I will never buy another Whirlpool.

I purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer and paid for the extended warranty
I purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer and paid for the extended warranty from Lowes about 5 years ago. After about a year, the washer had problems with excessive vibration and noise. Under Lowes warranty, a repairman came and adjusted the level. He came out several more times and made other adjustments, replaced the drum, then bearings and raised the level again. He said he could not declare the washer a lemon, even though it was because they were told this was taboo. They were instructed to do whatever they could to keep the washer going throughout the life of the warranty. Now the washer stops mid-cycle and an fl or f1 error code appears on the control board. I contacted Customer Service who said I can purchase another extended warranty for over $300 or pay their repairman for the visit including parts and labor. What I paid for the extended warranty and to purchase a new one would pay for a new washer.

After 6 years, Our $2500 Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling and would not dispense ice. Since we had purchased a Whirlpool extended warranty, a Whirlpool authorized technician replaced the compressor and informed Whirlpool it also required a new door that included an ice dispenser. A door was not available so Whirlpool refused additional repair and refunded the $400 purchase price of the warranty. Meanwhile the refrigerator stopped cooling again and Whirlpool refused any additional obligation. The refrigerator was now non-functional and we had to spend $3500 to get a comparable refrigerator. The moral: 1) Whirlpool makes very expensive refrigerators that have about 30% of the life-span compared to earlier vintage refrigerators. 2) They know this and will promptly refuse to warrant their product if it is to their benefit. Shame on you Whirlpool for using your corporate leverage and shady business practices to manipulate your customers.

All I ever wanted was a nice refrigerator with the ability to get crushed ice from the door. We bought our refrigerator from Lowes several years ago and have had problems with the ice dispenser ever since. Lowes sent repairmen many times and even replaced the one we purchased with a newer model. Whirlpool refused to replace. The problem persisted and we had to continue calling repairmen. The last straw was when the repairman asked to borrow my hair dryer to help him melt the ice that continuously builds up in the door chute. I stopped going through Lowes and went directly to whirlpool for repairs. Since then I have been told that I should remove the ice box and clean out weekly, be nicer in order to get better help and that my husband should do the talking so that Whirlpool will be more helpful. I am so disappointed. Its been a couple of years since I last called for repairs even though we had the extended warranty. I have to clean the chute daily in order to get crushed ice from the door. Whirlpool knows that their engineers developed an ice dispenser with problems but will not admit it. Their customer service is the worst ever. I will never buy a whirlpool refrigerator again.

We purchased the extended warranty (service plan number **). The washing machine has been giving trouble. It locks out during every wash cycle and each time, we have to unplug the machine to reset it. Sometimes it makes it through the next cycle and sometimes, not. The first couple of calls we made, we were told to make sure it was cleaned, to make sure it was leveled. All this was done and we still have the same problem. Finally, a technician was sent out. He could not duplicate the problem and left. Thirty minutes after he left, the machine locked out again. We put in for another call, we were told it would be two more days. In the meantime, we actually video taped the next three times it locked up. This time, when the technician came out, he was able to see our video as well as saw the machine lock up. He stated, It did not give me a code so I do not know what else to do. He left and ten minutes after he left, it locked out again. We immediately called back and they informed us they could not get anyone out again until next week. This is very frustrating to have an obvious problem and have an extended warranty and the problem cannot be solved. We feel as if we are being blown off. Is there anything you can do to help us and/or give us advise of how to get this problem resolved?

I kept calling and finally they sent someone again in May 2011. They said they where going to order the parts because the new company was not going to replace the machine, even though it was already damaged. They said I would get the parts between three-five business days. I only got one part. A and E sent a repair guy again on the 22nd of June. This one said they needed the entire machine in parts and that he would order the parts. I called A and E one week later and they said they were waiting for the on manufacturer to send the parts (Whirlpool). The 26th and the 27th of July, I got the parts. On the 22nd of July, another repairman came and said we needed more parts. Today, August 16, 2011, I called Whirlpool and A and E and now they said the parts wont be here till after October 26, which by then I would have to pay for the parts and labor if I wanted it fixed because by then the one-year warranty would have expired. So here I am with a $700 washer, which was never used and they refused to fix/replace. They sold me a lemon!

We purchased Whirlpool sports model on 2/1/2011. We faced a problem with the motor in a month’s time. The service man told that there are fluctuations in the power so it went wrong. They replaced it after 15-20 days’ time. We also complained that it’s making noise and then he told that we should keep it on the stand. We did so, even then, it’s still noisy. Now about 3 weeks back, suddenly it stopped working during the wash. I never overloaded the washing machine. We complained to the dealer. The mechanic came and told that we had to replace some parts and he will get in a couple of days, but he never turned up. When we contacted the dealer, he said that the parts were unavailable and he will send them in a couple of days. I am fed up of that answer. We could have purchased IFB instead of this.

I have a Whirlpool dryer for about 8 years. The lint catcher has some holes so I called the 1800 phone no. that I got from the dryer and order the part. That happened in May 18 - I pay for it. I have been told that I will receive the part in 5-7 days. Today, Aug. 27, I called see what really happen with my part. Well I have been transferred from a department to another. I waited over an hour on the phone. No employee can find my order in the system and hey keep on telling me that I did not order! In the end, the order have been found. They told me that the part has been in the back order and I will receive it on 9/12/2014 - 3 weeks away adding up to 4 mo since I order and my credit card was charged. I cancelled the order> I really do not want to deal with Whirlpool ever again. I am happy to pay for a new dryer - some other brand and put in the garbage the Whirlpool - for a lint catcher and bad customer service.

I bought this washer on 2-28-09. By 3-12 the thing took a crap. The whole counter balance broke off away from the drum. This washer lasted 3 years and 1 month. What a piece of garbage. I expected this front loader to last a lot longer than 3 years! Of course when I called Whirlpool they said, “Well its not under warranty so you can buy the 1-yr warranty for $300.00,” and theyll come out and fix it for me. If Im going to pay $300, I might as well buy a new machine! I only paid $600 for it and to last 3 years is pitiful. This is defect in workmanship if the machine breaks in only 3 years. I told her that something should be covered because it should last longer than that. She basically said “oh well”. Oh well, I guess I wont be buying another Whirlpool again. Steer clear of this Duet Sport machine!

Oct 14th I walked down to our basement to find it flooded. Turns out the leak came from the solenoid that controls the water feed to our Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator. Now, some $28,000 in damages later - floors/cabinets/walls/electronics - you name it. The repair company said that they replace these units a lot as it is simply a faulty design and Whirlpool knows this as this part is very difficult to obtain - too much demand. Well aside from the cost, the inconvenience, and the rise in our insurance rates the repair person said there was a good chance of the new part failing as well - it just cant take the water pressure as it is just cheap plastic. My advice - stay away from Whirlpool!

We purchase the Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher GU2400XTPB7 with our new home. This dishwasher has a plastic tub. For some unknown reason the dishwasher started to leak, I checked every hose connection and could not find the leak until I noticed four small burn marks in the plastic tub underneath the heating element. It actually looks like someone took a cigarette to the plastic. One of the burns went through the plastic tub, and this is where the leak is. Note: at no time did any of our dishes touch the heating element.I called Whirlpool customer service and they said they would send a technician out for $81 and in addition I would be charged $19 for every 15 minutes of service. I had asked to speak to a supervisor and he recommended that a technician come to my house at my expense and all the supervisor could say was that he was sorry, which became even more frustrating. No remuneration was offered. I have had other issues with our Whirlpool washing machine (holes in clothes), gas range stove (ignitron issues), and fridge. l will never purchase any Whirlpool product again including Jenn-Air. I made this quite clear to the supervisor. Whirlpools products and customer service are inferior based on my experience with our four appliances. It would be great if they actually practiced what their mission statement suggests, because as a customer I truly feel defeated.

After 50+ years of doing laundry, I had to purchase my 3rd washer. I bought the new top loader without an agitator. I very quickly learned that it has no lint filter. My first load was towels and mats. The lint clogged up my tub and drain pouring water all over the floor. Since then it has ruined many of my clothes which are mostly sweaters and sweater-knits. Without a lint filter, it deposits the lint right back on the clothes where it stays forever unless I shave or pick it off, even though Ive turned them inside-out. (Time consuming waste!) Even my socks have little balls of lint. It seems the only safe fabrics are new, smooth woven cottons, cotton-blends and slippery nylon providing there is no lace or brushed elastic. Now to the no fabric-softener dispenser... The Downy ball simply doesnt work, and theres no other way to add it. Waiting to use dryer sheets is too late; the damage is done. My clothes are dingy. In my 50+ years of ownership, I have never had to purchase a separate product to wash my washer so that it doesnt stink... and it does. Why does it lock after starting? If I could afford to replace it, I would... but I cant.

I blamed my wife for using bleach or splashing it accidentally. So today it happened again, and no bleach was used or even open near the machine. I bought a Whirlpool washing machine on 16 Feb 2011. I started having problems with it in June. It was making very loud noises when it was agitating and the clothes were still wet after the spin cycle. I called Nebraska Furniture Mart where I purchased it and they said that after 30 days, I had to call the manufacturer. I called Whirlpool and they sent A&E out to fix it. The technician that came out spent an hour trying to figure out what was wrong with it. When he was gone, I was left with two inches of water on my washroom floor and I had to pull the washer and dryer out myself to wipe it up. He ordered a part that came the next week and a different technician came out to put it in. After looking at the washer, the second technician said that the first technician diagnosed it wrong and he ordered a new transmission for it. About a week later, the transmission arrived at my house and a third technician came to install it. The washer worked for a few days and started acting up again and leaking water. I once again called Whirlpool and they sent yet another technician out. I told Whirlpool that I had lost faith in A&E so they sent All Appliances out. The technician from All Appliances said that it needed a transmission and he would have to order it in. A few days later, he came back to install it. It worked for a few loads. The leaking had stopped but now, it does not spin out the clothes. To make matters worse, it now releases the Downy at the wrong time and I now have blue spots all over my clothes. I have made repeated calls to Whirlpool and talked to two different managers. I asked the first manager for her direct number so I wouldnt have to go through the whole explanation again if I needed to call back. But she gave me her number without her 4-digit extension so, there was no way of finding her again. When I talked to the second manager (by this time, I have lost my patience), I told him my whole story and I told him that Whirlpool has spent $1,000.00 between parts and technician service on a $460.00 machine and it still doesnt work. It is a lemon and I deserve a voucher for the full price to purchase something different. After one and a half hours on the phone, Lukas informed me that the only thing he could do was to send yet another technician to my home. I have lost all faith in Whirlpool and I believe that they do not stand behind their product. They only push you until the warranty has expired! I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance again!

You cannot do decent canning on the thing because you only have one burner. This is a mess from the get go. Why in the hell do companies think everything has to have a computer attached to it? Ive spent more repairing this washer than what I paid for it new!!! Its really ridiculous that Whirlpool isnt more responsible for their equipment that doesnt stand up to their name! Ive replaced more things than I want to type but just to start the computer board, pump, bearings just to name a few. Each time I had my repairman out it was a minimum of $300 to repair. Ive had my repairman out 5 times to repair things. Thinking each time its cheaper to fix it than buy another which I surely didnt think I would be repairing it several time! At this point Im just sick to death that a washer that is for a home of myself and my daughter has broken down so much. I cant imagine what a family would go through. Even after all the repairs it still isnt right but Im done sinking money into this sinking ship of a washer! Its loud constantly stops due to un level so I have to move the clothes around usually having to repeat this several times before I can get the load to finish!!! Then they come out wrinkled more than they went in and I have to iron clothes. A person should NOT need to iron! May as well wash them in the river on a rock. It would be easier!!! SO DISAPPOINTED!!!

I have had this machine (Indesit IWDE126 Washer/Dryer) for a very short time; the washer is great. It does a 20 minute daily wash which is good however the dryer part screws up everything you put into it and ironing, even with steam, makes no difference at all. The WORST part is the organisation DONT CARE. I wrote to the Chief Executive, Jeff Fettig, who neither acknowledged my complaint or responded to it. I made this complaint in October 2016 and STILL do not know what the outcome is. If you are reading this review I honestly would look elsewhere for a better machine. Try MIELE. We bought Whirlpool Frontloader Washing Machine not over 1 month ago and it started to malfunction showing Ed1 error on its display. We contacted the service center and it was taking too long to have a visit from a technician. Then the technician, who also installed the unit came and checked the unit. He called someone from corporate office or from support team to ask what is error code Ed1 and overheard over the phone that this is a known issue on the brand. The technician said it is possible that unit will be replaced or only the motor. I contacted the brand support thru Messenger and requested to have the unit replaced, because again, the unit is not over 1mo old.I was advised it is not possible as replacement of unit is only applicable when the issue happened within seven days of delivery. STUPID ISNT? Policy is something unworthy for a product that is over 30k. And again, unit started to malfunction not over a month after it was first used. I would say we pretty much took care of the unit, we only use it twice a week. Placed it where it was perfect to put. Followed every advice given to us by the technician who installed it but still, it malfunctioned a few weeks after we started to use it. I am ashamed of the brand itself, we should have chosen Panasonic or Samsung instead not a dumb brand like Whirlpool. I certainly do not recommend the brand for a washing machine unit. Frontloader is a crap.

I owned a Kenmore washer for approx. 20 yrs that endured 6 kids for most of that time period. When time came for a new one, I had to have the latest model, and settled on a Maytag Bravos approx 3 yrs ago. The repairmen here yesterday explained to me that Maytag and Whirlpool are now the same company, and also that all these machines are now made overseas because of cheap labor. In a nutshell, I was given an estimate of at least 300 to repair this piece of crap - he explained that they are only made to last a few yrs -where is the justice in this situation? I really dont get how these big companies get away with selling crap, knowing all the while that the consumer is getting screwed - yet people continue to buy them..

I purchased a Whirlpool electric stove WFE540HOES 3 weeks ago from Best Buy. 2 Main complaints: Extended cooking time when using the oven. Food that should bake in 14 minutes was taking 25. Food that should bake in 30 minutes was taking 50, etc. The big issue was that the exterior of the stove was getting extremely HOT when using the oven. The area behind the handle and the storage drawer were so hot I had to use a towel to open it w/o getting burned. Thought it was a faulty stove so I exchanged it for the same model. Just got the replacement and its worse than the 1st one! The heat permeates from the bottom of the door and heats up the storage drawer below. The area behind the handle and the enamel edge of the stove get so hot. Its definitely a safety hazard if not fire hazard. Anyone else experience this??? Its going back!

We owned our Whirlpool Gold refrigerator GS6SHEXNL00 for 23 months when our electronic control board went out resulting in the light and interior temp display to go out. I called Whirlpool and they told me the control board was not under warranty. I subsequently replaced the board at cost of $156. This morning, 7 years from when I bought the fridge, the control board went bad again. Amazon now has a replacement board W10135090 for $67. There are thousands of complaints regarding the Whirlpool electronic control board, which Whirlpool just ignores. This should be a recall item. I will not buy another Whirlpool product.

Despite always using the designated (he) detergents and trying many different brands in appropriate amounts, this washer always leaves an ugly white residue on clothes. This happens all the time, requiring whole loads of clothes to be rewashed, sometimes more than once. This defeats the whole purpose of conserving water, which is reflected in our water bill. We also placed the laundry room on the second floor to make it easier for me with my disabilities. I am constantly having to climb the stairs when the machine gets unbalanced in addition to the extra loads from the residue. I was very excited to purchase this machine. Unfortunately, these feelings didnt last long.

16 months after purchase, the machine starts displaying F71 codes, 6 weeks later F70. After calling Whirlpool customer service number on the User Manual, we were told that the washer was out of warranty and there was nothing that Whirlpool was going to do for us. I have a reasonable expectation that a brand new $800 washing machine will operate for many, many, trouble free years, but finding an electronic failure that has been estimated at $400 to repair, 16 months after purchase, is simply and obviously unacceptable. This is clearly a defect in design and/or manufacturing.

I bought a whirlpool 40g gas heater with the Honeywell gas valve. In 5 years Ive had to replace the valve two times. Thankfully the valve was under warranty both times. Our old water heater was Twentynine years old before it started to leak, this new electrical diagnostic high tech gas valve keeps breaking showing a overheated error and the only way to fix it is a new valve that only Honeywell sells thats well over 100$. Talk about a scam!!

This washer is going back. It simply will not spin the water out of the clothes. It says it gets clothes drier than a conventional washer, but I have not found that to be true. I have to use the drain/spin cycle over and over and still the clothes are wet. I had the repair crew out and they were able to get it to spin out a very small load consisting of two sheets and two towels. Other than that, it does not spin out water. It is also very difficult to load if you attempt to leave the center open as they recommend. The cycles are very long. Not being able to look inside without pausing it and waiting for it to unlock is also a huge hassle. I am getting one with a glass top so I can see what is going on. If you leave it open for too long, it cancels the cycle and drains all the water, and you have to start over which is another problem because all your detergent just got drained out before the load gets going. It uses so little water on most of the cycles that the clothes get totally tangled up with one another. I think you should be able to choose the water level manually. I am all for saving water but if I want more water from time to time, this does not allow you to do that. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I have a 3 1/2 year old 9400WFW WP washer with a 70 error code. After viewing complaints on various websites, it appears this is a large scale problem with Whirlpool Duet owners. I just got off the phone with WP customer service and explained how many complaints are out there for F70 code error, yet they do not have a recall on this part! How can this be justified? This is a non-mechanical part of the washing machine. The life expectancy should be more than 3 years. My washer is not overused as there are only 2 people in the household. I do not want to pay the cost to repair this. I think WP should issue a part recall on this model. Does anyone know how to find out how many replacement CCU or CPUs have been purchased in relation to the number of 9400 WFW sold or if there may be a chance that WP needs to reconsider a recall?

Im with the rest of the people on here... The only mistake I made was not checking the reviews before purchasing a Whirlpool product. My washing machine is horrible... I dont recommend anyone purchase any Whirlpool products. Its cheap and has already stopped working twice in the last 6 months... I have had a repair man come out twice to replace the door locking mechanism... Not to mention the buttons dont work, they just slide back into the machine... Plus, you have to jump through hoops just to get the machine started the way you like it... If you make a mistake, there goes your whole ** load of laundry, not to mention the water wasted. Hell with Whirlpool - Dont ever buy a whirlpool product as long as you live.

If I could give no stars I would. I own the Whirlpool Cabrio, which I bought only 2 years ago. Im on my 3rd service call. They replaced my board after only 1 year of owning it and now 2years later its the same error message (F6E2), the board again. Besides this problem the machine is horrible! Every load has to be done on the deep water mode or else your clothes will come out with dry areas. Forget about darks - they come out with lint and soap residue all over them. So for darks you have to use extra rinse cycle but still the clothes come out with lint all over them. Laundry has turned into a nightmare for me. And the clothes arent clean. If I dont spray and scrub any stains, the clothes come out with the stain still on them. Dirty white socks come out dirty, even with bleachI dont use warm water on my clothes because it shrinks them and I dont put all of my clothes in the dryer because it shrinks them. So I am constantly using lint rolls, like crazy on all my darks. And even though the machine is very large I was told to never put a lot of laundry in it because nothing will get clean. So now I have to do more loads of wash. Doing laundry has turned into a job, a horrible job that takes hours. So now I have to use deep water, extra rinse and smaller loads so how is this energy efficient - its NOT, its the opposite of efficient. I am doing more wash and using more water. I use liquid HE detergent like they said. I clean my washer when it lights up to clean it. I dont know what else to do. I just called whirlpool about all of this and my second board being broke within 2 yrs and they dont stand by their products. I have to just keep getting it fixed through my extended warranty company. Thank goodness I bought an extended warranty.I would never ever buy anything whirlpool again! Dont buy this washer if its still available, it is the worst. Even if cabrio isnt available (which I dont see on their site) I still wouldnt buy whirlpool. They should replace my machine with a different one at this point. Not that I want another whirlpool but at least I would have a machine that works. This machine completely stopped working after the error code so I have no machine for 4 days now. I waiting for my extended warranty to get back to me and then I have to make an appointment for the appliance company to come and fix it. This is crazy. All these days and I cant do laundry. This is not acceptable!

Our Whirlpool oven was on fire two different times. The first 10/1/2021 flames inside oven right side. When Flamingo Appliances came to fix the coal was fried underneath. He changed it. Almost 4 months later my stove is on fire again and had to call 911 this time! The back control panel caught fire and is fried. This model has too many malfunctions and is faulty. Whirlpool said they are going to send Flamingo Appliances out to diagnose the problem and see if they can fix it. What next, gonna blow up on me. Earliest they can come out is 2 1/2 weeks. This is unacceptable at all cost. I never had a problem with a stove like this. This stove is faulty. Flamingo appliances/Whirlpool need to realize that the oven is faulty needs to be taken seriously.

I live in Florida and in December 2012, purchased a Whirlpool upright freez
I live in Florida and in December 2012, purchased a Whirlpool upright freezer from my local Badcocks. About two months after the purchase it started making this weird loud sound. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent a local appliance company technician out to check it. The technician ripped my brand new Linoleum floor when pulling out the freezer. The result was, in his opinion, nothing was wrong with it, that the loud sound was normal. As it continued, another tech came out and his opinion was it needed a new compressor. So, it was replaced and lasted about a month. I was getting something out for dinner and noticed everything in my freezer was unthawed... all that money wasted a freezer full of food gone. So, Whirlpool once again sent the same appliance company out but a different technician. This one said it that he needed to order parts which he did, a different tech came out to install the parts and told us he didnt know what they were for and our freezer didnt need the parts the previous tech ordered. So this tech put dye in the lines and left. The dye leaked out from under my freezer all over the floor which is now stained because of the dye that leaked. This is the brand new floor they had already ripped during the first service call. So, now not only is my floor ripped but stained as well.Once again, about a month later, I find my freezer full of meat unthawed a third time. Once again I called and find out they have dropped the contract with the company that came out the first two times. So they refer me to another local appliance repair, and this new tech says that it needs a new compressor. This will be the second new one in less than 6 months. They order that part and repair the freezer; this fix lasted for about three months this time. On my fourth call to Whirlpool, I expressed my frustration with losing my food and the hassle of an inferior product purchased brand new under warranty. I definitely was not satisfied with the service and the customer service representative could not find my warranty record. He was also very rude and when he finally found my record, he told me I was no longer under Whirlpool warranty. This was wrong as I have my paperwork showing date of purchase AND the four-year extended warranty we purchased as well. I asked him what they would do for me since their inferior appliance and incompetent repair technicians cost me hundreds of dollars of ruined meat and other frozen food. He said they would do nothing except have another repair tech come out. Until the freezer is determined to be unrepairable that is all they can do.So I scheduled the tech to come out the fourth time and he found that some untrained tech had put oil in the line and the lines and compressor has to be replaced and flushed. I have already not had a freezer for a week waiting for tech to come out and now the parts are put on back order for another three weeks. The fourth repair tech called Whirlpool from my home, while I was standing there, and told them that it basically is beyond repair because of the price of parts and labor. He told Whirlpool it would be cheaper to replace the freezer but Whirlpool told the tech to replace the lines and compressor and flush everything out. So three weeks later, he comes back out on 10/13/2013 to make the repairs. I bought this freezer in December 2012 for $1200 and have been dealing with issues on and off since Feb. 2013 and now its 11/29/13 and once again my freezer has stopped working. I have lost all my food because Whirlpool sold me a defective appliance and would not make it right. I have asked them to replace it and they wouldnt. My husband and I have just purchased our second house and we were very excited about the remodel coming up in the kitchen. We were going to purchase stainless steel Whirlpool appliances, but after this company has treated me so badly, I will not buy anything with the Whirlpool name for our stove, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. We probably would have spent about $3500 on appliances, but we will purchase a different brand and give our $3500 to a company that will treat me better as a customer .I used to have trust in this company because it is well known for quality products, but I dont trust them anymore. I will advise any of my loved ones and friends not to purchase any Whirlpool appliance because of the inferior quality and lack of interest in making this situation right. I tried for almost a year and gave them 5 opportunities to do the right thing and now Im done. They dont care about the customer and that is a shame because they have lost a valued customer. As of now I have another tech coming Tuesday b/c my freezer is sitting not running again. Model #EV201NZTQ02.

I had my Whirlpool electric stove for about fifteen years, I have had a couple minor problems with it. The oven temperature sensor went out, I bought a new one online and replaced it. The stove top eyes get warped from uses. Really no big deal. Ive had good luck with it over the years. Its the standard 30 inch white. I paid over $400. It will probably last me another 15 years, I dont see why it wouldnt. But then I know how to fix appliances. I think the only reason why anyone would replace a stove is because of the color or it caught fire or wont come clean. The mechanical isnt a problem because you can rebuild them so easy.

Are there negative numbers for ratings? Horrible, to say the least. Whirlpool is the parent name for KitchenAid ovens. I have an electric oven and the glass on the front door exploded! Whats worse is that I have been given the complete run-around! I have called, wrote, waited, and tried ordering through other companies--still no luck! How does Whirlpool get away with this? It seems that Whirlpool no longer makes the part!! Do they really expect consumers just to replace an oven every few years? Poorest customer satisfaction I have ever experienced! This should be a consumer fraud grand suit, as there are numerous complaints about the same issue with Whirlpool appliances! Stay away from this company by all means!

In 2008 I bought a Whirlpool range from Lowes. About a year ago I began to notice an electrical smell when I would use the oven. I called the repairman in October and he had to replace wires that had melted. The first time using the oven blew a fuse. Repairman came back replaced everything for free and it has worked fine since October. 2 days ago the fuse blew again. When I flipped the breaker in order to use the cooktop there was an arc flash which blew a hole through the back of the panel on the stove where the cord is hooked to the stove and a hole burned in my wall. After reading Whirlpools fan mail I see that there are severe issues with the quality of Whirlpool products. It is a sad day when the names we have come to trust are more concerned with the bottom dollar than with customer satisfaction with their product.

Not the quality I expected with the purchase of a Whirlpool product. I want this door repaired or replaced at the expense of Whirlpool. Having paid over $600.00 for the product, I didnt expect no problems like this at all, poor design. The weight of the door is too heavy to support a hinge mount in plastic, its ridiculous. I bought my home four years ago with a Whirlpool 50-gallon water heater in it. It was installed in December 2002. Well, my hot water went out. After being told I could go to Lowe’s because they would supply the part free of charge because there was a recall on the thermocouple unit. I went to Lowes. No luck there. They told me they didnt carry the whole replacement unit and I would need a number from Whirlpool. The guy at Lowes was very nice but said I was the fifth person to come in this week.I called Whirlpool and was told because I was not the homeowner that had purchased the item that there was no warranty on the product and that I would have to pay for the part. It cost $34.98 plus shipping, which was another $30.00 because I had it shipped overnight. Two days with no hot water was enough. Well, I got the part and hopefully there is nothing wrong with it as it was shipped in a box twice as big as needed with no packing what so ever.I just got off the phone with them again but this time spoke with a supervisor that told me there was no need for packing. There was no part of the entire assembly that could have been damaged. Will I ever buy anything with the Whirlpool name on it? Not only no, but ** no! Will I tell everyone I know about this? You bet. I am also going to write to Lowes and ask why they are continuing to sell inferior appliances such as these. I have to tell one realtor friend about this and just placed a call to another to tell him. The first had no idea that appliances that were marked still under warranty did in fact have no warranty at all if its a Whirlpool. I may write a letter to the editor of our local newspaper and hope that they will publish it to inform anyone reading the paper about these inferior products.

Whirlpool is an absolutely terrible company. I bought a stove and a microwave. The stoves lower drawer would fall off its track every time I opened it because it only had a single track at the front instead of one that went to the back to keep it stable. It scratched my baseboards horribly and was a huge pain. When I called to complain, they said they had no record of such a problem and were completely useless, despite the fact that the store I got it from acknowledged having the same problem and said that Whirlpool came out to fix it for them. Maybe Whirlpool only helps corporate customers so they can keep fooling people into buying their unbelievably ** products. The plastic casing around the microwave door handles started cracking (first the bottom cracked and a large piece fell off and now the second is cracking). I called to complain and was informed that because this was happening over a year after purchase (the microwave is 1 year and 2 months old) they couldnt do anything about it. The last time I checked, appliances are meant to last longer than a year before they literally fall apart. What a joke. I will never buy Whirlpool again and I will make a point of telling every single person I ever know whos buying a home to avoid their products as well. What an epic fail.

Whirlpool Gold (Model No. GX5FHDXVY04), expensive French-Door style refrigerator , with bottom freezer pull-out drawer, purchased in 2010, has drain line that repeatedly blocks, causing frozen sheet of water on bottom of freezer and consequent leaking of water onto wood flooring (ruining said flooring). To add insult to injury, 5-year extended repair warranty I purchased specifically EXCLUDES drain lines, leading me to believe that this is a well-known problem that is costly to repair which is true because the drain line and pan on this particular model is nigh impossible to access without upending the unit (two people required) and accessing the bottom panel of the unit. This appears to me to be a design defect that Whirlpool should correct -- at its expense, not mine. I am currently reviewing possible courses of action, to include, but not limited to, BBB complaint and litigation.

We will never, I repeat, never buy another Whirlpool, Kitchen Aid or Maytag (other than the Maytag dishwasher) product again. After just two years on the Cabrio washing machine, the bearing on the wash tub began to go out. As it was out of warranty, the cost to fix was greater than just buying a new machine. This was a known problem and Whirlpool failed to remedy the problem. Based on this experience, we went with an LG as a replacement. Before you buy anything, research it.

We purchased a new stainless steel Whirlpool refrigerator in February 2015. Within the first few days the fridge door handle broke off. Not that we have super human strength in our 60s but the handle connection is a very thin plastic. We put it down to the possibility that the warehouse or shippers may have banged it and perhaps we just didnt notice the initial crack. The handle was out of stock so it took 8 weeks before the new one arrived. This week the freezer door handle cracked! Same problem - cheap plastic handle connector doesnt withstand the vacuum seal. Whirlpools handle connection to the door is comprised of a 1/8th inch thick by 1/4 inch square piece of brittle plastic. This is screwed onto the door. In reality this needs to be metal. Enough said… Check out the handle connection before you buy this appliance. You will wait months for replacement parts as they cannot seem to keep enough of them in stock.

Today, after five years of washing items in the Whirlpool Cabrio top-loading, HE washer; I am taking the time to express just how poorly this machines operates. Clothes do not get clean, dish towels with dried food still have food on them, and towels get holes. If I wash items with sand after going to the beach, the dryer vent has to catch all of the sand that was never washed out. Rust has developed on the inside and drips down to ruin clothes. I would take back my previous washer with the agitator that was over twenty years old in a heartbeat. When we needed a new dryer, we went ahead and bought a matching washer. Painful decision!

I had a 6 year warranty on the new Water heater and about only 4 years into it the tank began leaking. Whirlpool replaced it but of course I was responsible for Parts and labor to replace it. The replacement only lasted just over only 2 years and just outside the total of 6 years from original purchase date on the first. Whirlpool refused to discuss it since it was a few months out of warranty. If someone else has purchased this heater it would have failed at 2 years and they would have had to warranty it anyway. I will never own another Whirlpool appliance because of their substandard products and warranty. Bought this from Lowes in 2010 with the 12 yr extended warranty. Have not been able to keep it lit. Takes 4-10 days for repairman just to LOOK AT IT and then he usually has to order a new control valve, taking another 2-4 days (have had the control valve replace 3xs). This means, my husband has to get down at eye level to try to get it to light (hes 63) & if it doesnt light on the 40th try or the cramp in his hand stops him sooner, we have to heat water on the stove, carry it through the house to the bathtub, try to get the temp not too hot or too cool, then hope that our 70 yr old bodies can get down into the tub plus get back out without falling (showers are preferable). My husband bought The best hot water heater $ could buy at our local Lowes store. Because we are getting up there in years, we hoped that this would be the best answer by also getting the extended warranty. They have had numerous repairmen out to our house (6 or 7 last count)... two different men told my husband that they would only be here a couple of minutes knowing it was not going to light for them either. Time wasted. Patience gone. Still they wont replace it because if anyone can get it to light up again, no matter how long that may take, then theres no need to replace it! They have already put more money into parts, labor & repairs than it originally cost. I was told today by the ex. warranty representative that its not considered a lemon! So how do those LOWES/WHIRLPOOL people sleep at night????

The dishwasher never cleaned the dishes, always left a film on everything, cant clean out the drain area, the screens don’t come off and less a year later the dishwasher top rack literally fell off and broke all the glasses that were loaded in it and the fridge keeps freezing all my food!!! I keep having to adjust the thermostat up down up down just to make it doesn’t freeze. Now that the warranty is no good on any of the crap I will no doubt be charged an arm and a leg to get it fixed, which definitely won’t be worth it!!! Whirlpool is such crap!!! Made in America no wonder!!! Don’t buy any whirlpool anything!!! You will be very VERY disappointed!!! I’ve bought plenty of brand new appliances. Bosch is by far the best dishwasher even the cheaper ones. Now I have to pay to dispose the whirlpool crap!!! I am sure whirlpool doesn’t give a crap though!!! Troubleshooting is a joke. It just doesnt heat. Waiting on the 3 plumbers to call me back. They are busy. Water heater went out Sat morning and Whirlpool doesnt open until Monday. Its Monday at 5pm and Im still waiting on a call back.

I feel that at the end of the day I do owe Whirlpool a good feedback. Our top load washer stopped rinsing so I checked the clutch, agitator dogs and coupler which all looked brand new. So I thought Id take the trans apart and after pulling the plastic agitator out I noticed the tub had completely rusted in half! The tub dropped down about an inch. The agitator would spin but the tub just sat there. Now came the difficult part. I told them I was quite sure about my diagnostic that it needed a new tub and told them I could send them a video (I even posted a video on Facebook and Twitter). But they said they would have to send a man out at $180 to make sure! After several days of back and forth conversations, someone at Whirlpool finally saw the video and agreed to send us a new tub. I havent gotten it yet but have heard through the grapevine that these tubs were supposed to be replaced if rusted because of the quality of metal used? So other than pulling a few teeth and needing to replace the tub, our washer has been a pretty good machine.

I have a refrigerator model WRT359SFYM00 that is 4 months old. It suddenly just stopped getting cold. Trying to contact Whirlpool warranty/service department has been a nightmare. Once I did get them they spent almost a week trying to locate someone in my area to service it. I was in constant contact with the phone support person, but they kept telling me its out of my hands a special unit was making calls to find a repair person. After almost a week they informed me they could not find anyone but if I could find someone to service it they would reimburse me (max $250 labor). I spent 5 minutes and 1 phone call and I found someone. They wasted a week bumbling around with wanton disregard for their customer. Their service after the sale is deplorable. They are staffed by people who answer calls but have no ability or authority to fix a problem. Worse yet, they kept telling me it was out of their hands. If not in their hands, then whose? I assure you I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance simply based on this warranty experience. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Shame on Whirlpool!
