I bought 2 Cabrio washing machines for my two homes along with the matching dryers. They worked for about 3 months, then the washers displayed OL Error during any wash cycle. I tried to contact manufacturer and have not been able to get service without charge. After reading the many posts I am not sure if I should dump both or start investing $$$ in service calls.

I bought a complete kitchen set of the Whirlpool Gold Series Appliance from Brand-Smart in 2/2013. The first problem I had was the compressor on the refrigerator. It started making a noise & stopped cooling in 04/2014. I called Whirlpool and they said there was only a year warranty on parts and service. I was not notified that I could get an ext. warranty. Therefore I will have to pay for the repair. I called a service tech out and he said I needed a new compressor, total cost 255.00. Then in 11/2014 it started making the same noise & stopped cooling another $255.00. Now its doing the same thing. It needs another compressor, will cost me $255.00 more! A total of $765.00!! And I have only had the refrigerator 2 years 2/2015.

I purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer about 5 years ago. I wanted to pay for a good pair to last a long time for the money. We have had a repair man out twice for the washer. They ended up replacing the computer board. It worked fine for a few years. Now, it keeps getting the unbalanced error code for almost every load of clothes that we start. Sometimes, it takes 20-30 minutes of rearranging the clothes to get it to finally work. I have had to manually set it to finish the loads on a number of occasions. It is so time consuming to do laundry due to having to play with the clothes to get the loads to finish. Plus, I dont know how many times it has woken up my grandkids because of the loud thumping noise it makes when it gets unbalanced. I have never had a washer do this. I would expect when you pay big bucks for an appliance that it should last a long long time. One usually gets what they pay for. I should have bought a cheaper pair. Then, they probably would have lasted 15 to 20 years.

Whirlpool Microwave WMH1164XWS-1 - Well, Im sure surprised that my almost five year old Whirlpool microwave failed to heat this evening. One minute it worked, next it didnt. Watched countless repair videos, but it seems more aggravation taking the unit out and trying to diagnose the issue than its worth. Probably the same with enlisting the services of a repair tech. Ill probably think twice about purchasing another Whirlpool microwave. I purchased a Whirlpool French Door Refrigerator a few months ago and now Im concerned Ill have the same issues. All my appliances were Whirlpool and purchased ten years ago and replaced with newer models, even though I never had any repair issues. Guess they dont make them like they used to!

I am a senior who has not used the Whirlpool Range installed by the builder
I am a senior who has not used the Whirlpool Range installed by the builder in 2007 very much. First of all, I did not like the way the covered jets hid the lighted jets when they were turned on low. Then about 8 months ago, I smelled gas and no one had used the range. I checked the knobs and one was turned slightly without any gas lit. I know that for years the companies were required to have push-in knob before you could turn them for safety reasons (especially children). These knobs barely push in before turning so that they can easily be accidentally brushed against and leak gas, which is exactly what happened to me again today. My daughter was visiting. Neither of us had used the range and when she left, I sat in my living room and smelled gas. I immediately checked the range and the small front jet was turned slightly on. The odor was so strong that I know it had to have been on for some time. Its been an hour and Im still airing out the house. I have used gas ranges for over fifty years and never had a problem such as this. Im thankful that I do not have issues with my sense of smell. Otherwise, I would not be sitting here writing this.

I purchased the refrigerator/freezer, Whirlpool model GX5SHDXVQ02, 2 years 10 months ago. It is now not keeping the refrigerator portion of the unit cold or even cool. It is 70 inside the refrigerator although the freezer portion is doing a fine job. This unit is not even 3 years old yet! To top it off, the unit only has one year warranty on any part. The repair person is now here and replacing the control board. This piece alone is costing me $184.12. Then the labor hours and service call. I should have trashed it and bought a new, different brand. Not even three years old. My last refrigerator/freezer lasted 13+ years with no problems.

Cabrio washing machine WTW8600YW0 - Had this washer for 3 years. Its been repaired a few times, but this last time theyve replaced the bearings 3 times and it only lasts less than 1 week. This $1000 washer is now going on the trash. I tried to get help from WP, to no avail. There is a reason these are only warranted 1 year. One thing I liked about it: the fast spin speed gets clothes drier. Every other aspect is crap. Cleans very poorly. You cant make it use enough water. The tub looks huge because it doesnt have a conventional agitator. But if you put much in there you will end up rewashing in small loads because then it REALLY cleans poorly. I bought this because my trusted appliance store owner buddy said he owned one. When I asked him lately he doesnt talk much except admits that yes they have had a LOT of trouble with these machines. The life is very short on them. The wonderful fast spin speed destroys the light bearings quickly. And it gets worse the more its worked on. Its a disposable $1000 piece of trash. Im an engineer, and whoever designed this should have his degree revoked. The type of agitator it has and the extreme low water is very hard on your clothes. One zipper left loose will shred your clothes. I wanted to love the thing, but I have to hate it because it is unrepairable. If you could control the water and if it lasted at least 5 years without having to rebuild it several times at greater cost than it was purchased for, I might be less than rabidly angry at WP. They know they are junk but dont care. You have few choices as they now own most brands, and they know this. I have a Speed Queen on order. Just a plain old simple washer.

I purchased a washing centre at Canadian Appliance Source. I paid to have it delivered, installed and for them to take away my old appliances. I had several issues and when I called the store, they sent me to Whirlpool warranty who dispatched a repair technician a few days later. With nothing solved to my satisfaction, I called Whirlpool again. I spoke to a customer service rep who gave these responses, she put me through to a manager who gave me the same responses. When I asked to speak with someone above her, she said she could put me through to another person at her level but noone at a higher level.I want to hear the same response again? Really? Her only other answer was to email the Whirlpool Executive, which will be my next step. This is a summary only of my experience of the first few days after the purchase.Problem: The first load I washed was 1 set of blue sheets with 2 pillow cases. The water didnt seem to cover the load but I thought when it started to wash, they would get wet. When I took the sheets out of the washer, there were several dry spots and some kind of residue on several areas, so not washed or cleaned as expected. I tried washing one sheet, same thing. Tech solution: Put in some wet items to the load so the washer thinks the load is heavier and will add more water, or add a bucket of water to the load, Really? Whirlpool response: The washer is working as expected. Really? Problem: I did a warm water wash, expecting the machine to dispense a mix of hot and cold AT THE SAME TIME making it warm water. The washer starts with cold water then stops and puts in hot water. I dont want cold water or hot water on this load I want warm as recommended by the manufacturer! Tech solution:Dont use warm water wash. Really? Whirlpool response: Works as expected. Really?Problem: Dryer is way too hot on the delicate cycle, not good for delicates! Tech solution: Use the air dry cycle. Really? Whirlpool response: Dryer is working as expected. Really?Problems I didnt even discuss: The load is really really wrinkled when it comes out of the washer. Who wants to have to go back to ironing everything they own? The washer tub and dryer are really really small! I should have read more reviews and headed the warnings! Comments: I purchased online, biggest mistake. The store will not take it back. Whirlpool will not take it back. Hindsight is 2020! If I could have given negative stars, I would have.

I bought a new non-frost 14 cubic Whirlpool fridge Model # W4TXNWFWQ in 2013 from PC Richards. The freezer keeps getting busted. It actually produces a lot of frost which stops the entire fridge from running properly. The tech said this is a common problem with Whirlpool. I am lucky to have bought the 3 years warranty. But when I call to fix the problem it always takes them a few days and I have to miss work for this non-sense.

I bought a Whirpool side by side model GSF26C5EXW00 on 4/24 from Lowes in Buford, It was delivered the next day.We followed all the start up directions. You know what a mildewy moldy towel smells like...Well that is what the water and ice smells and taste like coming out of the dispenser. I have had the technician to my house 6 times. the tap water taste good, the water coming out of the line leading to the refrigerator is good. Gee is must be something in the refrigerator! How many times do they have to come out before they actually do something about it? Like replace it or give me my money back.

Purchased Whirlpool Cabrio model WTW6400SW washer and dryer 1/7/2007. The matching dryer was dead on arrival and the second dryer motor died within a year. Washer: 1year 2 month the washer motor died. Whirlpool paid for the part and I paid the labor. The following year, the bearing went out and the outer tub was replaced (the bearing is inside the plastic outer tub - bad design. Whirlpool paid for the part and I paid the labor. Feb. 2011 had one of the F errors. Whirlpool repair tech came out as the tub would not drain and it was a wire that had come loose underneath washer - another service call charge. Dec. 20, 2011, I had an error F50. The Whirlpool repair tech came out, verified no clothes or money stuck in the machine. All clear. He called higher level whirlpool tech and they paid parts and labor to replace the main control board and the RPS Sensor. Im single and am not abusing this machine. Like everyone else who posted. I paid close to $1,000 for this washer (not including the dryer) and I have been a faithful Whirlpool customer for 3 generations, but if Whirlpool doesnt offer some kind of compensation/trade in credit to customers who purchased this (knowing that the design is bad/faulty) washer and discontinue this model. This will be my last Whirlpool. I will have lost all faith in Whirlpool. The Whirlpool service tech that I found is op notch. I will miss him if I have to switch brands. Im putting 1 star as I know this machine will not be operational for 9 years which is the minimum that I would expect. If it makes it to 6 years without another service call, it will be a miracle.

I purchased dishwasher model #GU2800XTVT0 in May of 2009. Today, it leaked water all over and damaged my floor. My husband pulled the dishwasher out of the cabinet and found that the motor had fallen off. It did not have a bracket to hold it in place and worked loose, which then disconnected a hose. I called the customer service but they wont do anything because it is beyond the 12 month warranty. It only lasted slightly more than two years. This is obviously a manufacturing defect and we were just unlucky enough that it failed after the warranty had expired. The most ironic thing is that my husband worked for Whirlpool for 20 years. There is no loyalty here.

In Nov 2004, I purchased whirlpool oven GW395LPQ-00 from Sears. Let me preface this by saying I rarely use the oven usually just the stove top. In July 2007 after baking in the oven for a couple of hours and cooking on the stove top the oven went out of control. The temperature rose and burned the food in the oven. Whirlpool dispatched a technician and said nothing was wrong. Dec 2007 during a dinner party the oven again went out of control, raised the temperature on its own and burned the dinner. By this time I have used the oven maybe 25 times. Jan 2008 Whirlpool sent a technician to replace the circuit board. Dec 2011 Stove was on for 3 hrs at 375 - a batch of cookies in the oven for 6 minutes torched on fire, smoked up the house. I have had it with this stove! The oven displays error codes every time and the only way to shut it down was to throw the circuit breaker. I checked the internet to see if there was a recall on this stove - none. I cant believe it. I contacted Whirlpools Safety Department and once again got the run around that they want to send a technician to inspect the oven. I just want the oven out of my house and for Whirlpool to take responsibility to recall this oven & to protect their consumer. There are endless complaints from customers on the internet regarding this make and model. Consistently, Whirlpool takes no responsibility for their faulty products.

Purchased my Whirlpool Duet front load washer WFW9150WW00 new in 2010. Also purchased extended warranty. After four years, just before my extended warranty was up, the entire inside needed replacing (drums, bearings). Now at only five years old, it keeps making a beeping noise in middle of wash cycle and wont continue working. Serviceman was told by a Whirlpool tech. that it could be two things, one being the door jamb, the other being the control panel. Door jamb was fine. Ordered new control panel ($240), had it installed and yet the washing machine still keeps beeping and doing the same thing. The serviceman doesnt know what else it could be. So, I am forced to return the part and purchase a new washing machine. I would never recommend Whirlpool to anyone!

I bought the most deluxe and expensive washer and dryer I have ever owned. It is a Whirlpool Cabrio. The clothes come out of the washer dry, and all tangled up. I bought it new from Sears on July 2009. Now only two years old, and the washer sounds like a jet plane. I paid a repairman $90.00 only to be told this is common in this machine. The repair is expensive, and I would be better off buying a new one! I owned a cheap, little GE washer, which cost me $300; ten years, and never had a problem. Now my dream machine turned out to be a piece of crap. I will never buy a Whirlpool again!

Cabrio washer bought 5 or 6 years ago. Started a whining noise when spinning, so loud we close the washroom door to hear the TV. My Whirlpool gas range was installed in December 2008. The control panel for the oven has now died for the third time! Push the buttons to set the temperature and nothing happens. The first time the control panel died, Whirlpool replaced the parts. The second time it happened (6 months later), they didnt want to hear from me. The oven worked satisfactorily for about three years and here we are again. It will be about $500 to fix the problem which clearly is not an isolated issue as I have seen this same complaint raised a number of times. Looks like its time for a new gas range. My dilemma is that I have the greatest serviceman who exists... and he only sells and services Whirlpool. But...thanks to Whirlpool, hes probably losing some business.

Our original dishwasher lasted many years and did a good job until it didnt. We replaced it with this one that we found at Home Depot. It is not the one we wanted but the delivery was months away and this one was in stock. It does a good job in cleaning the dishes. The only issue I have is that the top rack is not designed for large mugs or glasses. The wine glass holder has 3 slots, but we can only get two in based on the spacing. Also, our mugs dont fit, well on the other side, inside the fingers. Maybe our dishes are on the larger side...I dont think so but like I said earlier, it does a good job cleaning the dishes.

Purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator the last week of January 2014 with promised delivery date of February 6, 2015. Received call Feb. 2 that the earliest they could deliver would be February 13th. Received call Feb. 3 that the earliest they could deliver would be February 19, almost 2 months after purchase of refrigerator. Sears, where we purchased the refrigerator, told me that they have been dealing with this for 10 years with Whirlpool. Why would Sears sell products to their customers with this kind of delivery problem? They only communicate with Whirlpool via email, so there is no resolution with a person to get issue taken care of. We will never buy a Whirlpool product again & will never buy anything from Sears again.

This seems to be a very common complaint with Whirlpool French door especially after reading other reviews. Bought a WRF560SMY in 2/2014, from Lowes who installed it and promised good service for that first year. Whatever went wrong, they would take care of it, replace if needed, pay for lost food, etc. So far, so good. Now in 7/2015, warranty is up of course!!! And we are selling our home, so thought I would get an extended warranty as another selling point that would transfer to new owners. Well, of course, right after I purchased the warranty, the day after actually, the freezer started buzzing. Took a look and the whole back wall of freezer was covered in frosty ice. So defrosted it, seemed to run okay... For a few hours, same problem. It sounds like the compressor fan is scraping on ice, and it runs continuously. Defrosted again, same problem. So now it is time to break down and get on the phone, which I hated to do since I went through this with Samsung in late 2013, took me 3 months to resolve. Anyway, called Whirlpool Michigan office, which I recommend. They claimed they would cover repairs, and to call their warranty repair dept. to schedule service. THEY told me I was out of luck, as my just purchased warranty would not be good for 60 days. Back to Michigan, they told me it WOULD be covered, and to try again. No go, and this time someone with a middle eastern accent told me not only would it not be covered, but even after the 60 days, it still would not be covered as it was a, GET THIS!!! pre-existing condition! Excuse me, this is not a brain tumor, and Obama did away with that anyway. So tried to call Lowes, who sympathized, but could not help since the warranty I purchased was from Whirlpool, but they would repair if I paid. And be aware that most chain stores require you purchase an extended warranty within 30 days of installation, so out of luck there, but they were nice about it, told me go back to Whirlpool. So another call to Michigan, and FINALLY got a gal at their call center in Tennessee, who resolved my problem in about three minutes. All in all, 12 phone calls. This is a manufacturer issue. she said, not a repair problem. which is what the others were apparently not educated about. It appears, although she did not say so in so many words, that this is a very, very common problem, and Whirlpool will indeed cover condenser or defrost heater assemblies for 3-5 years depending on the model. So she is supposedly calling a local repair and someone will be out in a day or two, but will call us first. No call yet, so still nail biting. I would recommend to all of you with this or other issues to read the manufacturer warranty very, very carefully. There are some things in there that go beyond the standard year, and I KNEW I had read that this problem was covered beyond the one year, and indeed, it is. And also to call, call. Call their Customer Experience Center in Michigan (1-800-253-1301) and if your freezer is icing up, you will most likely get them to fix, depending on the age of your unit. If you dont get satisfaction with the first person, keep calling back again and again, and get the NAME of the person you have spoken with and tell them to document your call. This saved me, as every call I made came up on their screen so they knew I was getting frustrated. But, she assured me, this particular problem is ABSOLUTELY COVERED BY WHIRLPOOL, so obviously it is a defect they know about. Why they dont fix it at factory, dont know but will continue to look for that answer. They got especially cooperative when I told them I was purchasing a home that would need all new appliances in the near future, which is true. Use the Michigan number and keep calling and calling until you get satisfaction. This is a covered repair beyond the one year. By the way, I do not have my ice cube maker hooked up and never did, but still had this issue. With this being said, I am very unhappy that yet another refrigerator failed on me. The Samsung after only 3 months, and the Whirlpool after only 17 months. But I will follow up on this report when and if these repairs are made in a day or two ;-] we shall see, and let you all know. The repair service is Whirlpool certified, so will grill the guy they send and see how many of these he has to fix, and whether it really is fixed So stay tuned. Just dont take your time and get frustrated talking with people who turn you down right off. Be persistent, and plan on about a dozen calls and two hours of your time. Remember to take notes of times, names, what was said, etc. This is the only thing that saved me with Samsung by the way. After 3 months they told me they HAD NO REPAIR PEOPLE in my area, and sent me a check for the purchase price to buy whatever replacement I wanted, but they also made me jump through many hoops, send pictures, docs, all kinds of stuff. Think I can almost speak a mid-eastern language now as well. Not so with Whirlpool though. It seems most if not all of their call centers are in the USA. Good luck to all of you. On my way to defrost again so we can get some sleep tonight without the chainsaw noise, and will update as soon as something occurs here. Hope I helped a little. As a PS, the last gal I spoke with was so very nice and knowledgeable. I told her she should not be taking calls, but promoted to training the call takers, and did take the time to call her supervisors and leave a message at how very good she was, which we should all do if we ever get a nice, educated person on the other end.Updated on 07/29/2015: I promised an update, so here it is. After thoroughly explaining my issue, they promised and delivered a repair person who arrived within the time they gave. He was very nice, but even tho they knew what my problem was, the guy did not have the parts onboard. He said it may take a week or two. So I am defrosting my freezer about every 48 hours to keep it from totally destroying itself. To the guy who exchanged his Whirlpool for a Samsung, I wish you a whole lot of luck if something goes wrong, and it will for sure. You wont get anyone who speaks English, but if you have a Lowes warranty, you may fare better. I can give you details on what will go wrong and how they deal with it if you want. I would advise you to have the Lowes warranty, and not a Samsung warranty, and make sure you get one within 30 days, or you are out of luck with Lowes. Good luck to you. Will update more on my Whirlpool, will say the repairman was very, very nice and gave me his card to call if I had more problems I could not solve myself until the part comes in. By the way, I do not use the icemaker and never did connect it, nor with the Samsung. I pity anyone who has to deal with Samsung directly and strongly advise you to get the warranty thru the store.

After yet another frustrating round of laundry I have to write this. This has been the worst purchase (Cabrio 6800 Washer and Dryer) Ive ever made. Like other reviewers, I thought I was buying a high-end (high priced) product that has performed miserably from day one. Clothes do NOT come clean and for some reason, towels and dishcloths get ripped and shredded. All cycles (except sheets/towels) do not dispense enough water. Of course the one that does, results in the ripped and shredded problem. A little more than a year after purchase, we got an error code indicating the computer board was bad. Code would come up during initial cycle start and again at the start of the rinse cycle. Whirlpool basically said tough luck but shortly after, we started receiving offers in the mail to purchase an extended warranty for $175. Out of principle, I did not do this. Instead we discovered that we could push pause/start/pause/start multiple times and it would eventually keep going. We are still doing that on EVERY load of laundry (start and rinse cycles). I am not far from just biting the bullet and buying a new washer. It will not be a Whirlpool. One positive note is that the dryer has performed well, unlike some of the other reviewer experiences!

This is an ongoing problem. I have had to thaw the refrigerator (which takes over 24 hours). Then I blow out the drain with my air compressor, run water through, etc. The drain freezes up a good way down. It is a big pain in the **. There has to be a design flaw for this to continually happen. I paid for a repair man one time but he did nothing different from what I am doing. I cant afford the prices they charge. Shame on Whirlpool for making inferior products.

The refrigerator is 7 years old and I have already replace parts. The appliance is not made as well as they were made in the past. The inside of the Whirlpool refrigerator is small. The design of putting the soda can dispenser on the door was not a good one. Due to the weight of of the soda in the dispenser is breaking the hinge on the right door or the french door. The rubber gasket is shredding as well.

We have had this Whirlpool Duet WFW9150 washer for 7 years, doing 2-4 loads a week. Overall we are quite satisfied with it. A few complaints: We are on a well, and so get the odd bit of crud in the water. The machine has filters on the inlet lines, but you must pull it out from the wall to get at them. The filters are hard to remove. If something goes wrong--power blip, or sensor something, you have to restart the cycle. There is no way to continue from where you left off. There are features I wish it had: Rinse with warm or hot water, a spin only cycle, And Im in a hurry and it isnt very dirty cycle (Shortest cycle is almost 2 hours). Whirlpool doesnt have a service center for our area. If we need repair we need to take it into town. This is inconvenient.

Whirlpool tells its technicians that the front molding piece on their dryers is a disposable part . Basically, it has to be removed to examine the console and removing it will break it 90% of the time. Therefore, the customer will have to replace a $100.00 part simply to diagnose any problems. I now have a dryer with no front panel simply because I wanted to know why a button was sticking.

We purchased the Whirlpool model# BFG1J4040T3NOV 40 gallon natural gas hot water tank in the spring of 2010. The pilot light went out this weekend, 2011. And it will re-light but does not stay lit. This was bought at Lowes, rated as a 9-year warranty on the tank and parts. This is premature failure of a product that is listed as 9 years. Due to all the other similar complaints of this Whirlpool hot water tank, I would like my money back plus installation. I do not want the Whirlpool replacement as obviously it does not work. I will use a different brand and vet it much better in the future. We almost purchased at Home Depot but decided it would be a better bet to go with the Whirlpool reputation and name and Lowes than with the only Home Depot option, which is the self branded water heaters. It was a big mistake!

A week later he arrived with the part (August 12, 2016). As of now the refrigerator is working. Now this was two (2) weeks without a refrigerator. This has been a bad experience. I purchased a new water heater in August 2013. The pilot light started going out in October/November of 2013. After calling the Tech Support phone number, (877) 817-6750, I was advised to clean the burner screen. First this is very difficult to do because the burner screen is underneath the water heater and almost impossible to access. Second the closet the water heater is in did not show any signs of debris that could clog the burner screen. I did as they recommended. Several calls, and several weeks later, they finally authorized a technician to come and service water heater. He performed a cleaning even though he couldnt find anything to clean; and he replaced the control module. The new control module worked through the spring and summer seasons and then I started having issues again in the fall, late October. Started calling the same phone number and was told again to clean the burner screen. I convinced them to send out the technician again. The A and E Factory technician came out and only cleaned the burner screen and left before I had a chance to get home. This happened several times and I called Whirlpool every time. The next A and E technician told me to try changing out the draft vent chimney to a different size, which I did. Problem happened Again! I finally asked for another plumber and they sent me 3 names of their authorized plumbers. I called Phil, Philco Plumbing. He told me that I needed to have more ventilation, so I added more ventilation, even though I later found documentation stating I already had more than what was required by the manufacturer. Again, a week later, started having problems. Call back and asked to have my personal plumber come out. This time the rep told me that I have always been free to choose any plumber I wish (why wasnt I given that option the first 10 times I called?). My plumber came out and replaced the control module and the thermocouple, but wasnt convinced that these were faulty parts, he honestly couldnt figure out why I am having this problem, but it was worth a try. That lasted about 1 week and now I am having the problem again!!Whirlpool will FINALLY authorize a new water heater, but they will not authorize installation for the new water heater. I have already spent money on recommended repairs that have not worked. I have taken 15+ hours off of work to watch plumbers do nothing that has rectified my problems. And now Whirlpool wants me to deal with installing the unit myself, OR pay to have it installed! They say they wont cover installation because I purchased it more than 1 year ago. They seem to be missing the fact that I have had trouble with it the ENTIRE time I have owned it!This Flame lock system is garbage. I found on Consumer Affairs that a few years ago a class-action lawsuit settled, dealing with the same issues. I think it is time for another round! I KNOW that I am not the only one dealing with this problem because the plumbers I had out all had similar complaints from many of their clients. Whirlpool wont fess up to the problem, but the problem is real.

I called Whirlpool and was told I could get no help with the cost of parts because of the age of the machine! A simple Google search of the F51 error code that I am getting will show you that these machines are $800 pieces of junk! I am not repairing this machine. Cabrio washer - What a piece of junk! My washer is 2 years old, it now does its own thing - stopping when it wants, doesnt finish cycle, beeps finished and the clothes are so wet and the washer is not emptied. Then, I put it on drain and spin. One time, it kept going for almost an hour of off and on. My clothes were so out of shape and that was on low spin. I finally took them out and put them outside. The clothes from day one have always come out so wrinkled and that too is on low spin. Im afraid to use high spin. I know you have to for towels, but it still does not drain. It shuts off and on when it feels like it. My first contact with Whirlpool was, Well, did you buy the extended warranty? I hate it when asked that when purchasing any product. Its like saying, This is a piece of crap. Im warning you now so buy the extended. So right there, I felt Whirlpool isnt willing to help. What else can we all do here? Please advise.

Whirlpool finally said they would refund my purchase and I should see the money in about three weeks. That would be about a week longer than the refrigerator worked. I dont have the money to just get another one so I guess the family will be without a refrigerator for another month. That means shopping every day for perishable for a family of 10. I would not recommend another Whirlpool product. This is no joke, every time I called them one of the first things asked was Did you get the extended warranty? I moved into an apartment in July 2010 after closing in May 2010. My microwave by Whirlpool stopped heating a few days after the one year warranty was over. This appliance was of April 2009 series. My builder doesnt take responsibility and Whirlpool asks for huge service visits and repair costs that leaves me with no choice but to replace, and that too with the same product. This will cost me about $600-700 including installation and warranty, etc. I strongly believe that consumers should be protected against such liabilities. I have to pay for the product, the removal of the faulty one, installation of the new one plus taxes, plus transportation etc., only because Whirlpool sold it and the builder bought it (they are also hand in hand with these suppliers and dont bother after occupancy). God save us from such eventualities and undesirable expenses which hurt. No one should buy such items.

Two weeks ago, a mere five years after purchase and shortly after our warranty expired, it broke. It kept showing the UL code and took multiple cycles to wash the clothes. Unacceptable. We called the technician; he came out; told us it was the bearing that busted; and quoted us $800 to fix it (I noticed below another customer was quoted $400 for the same issue). We purchased our brand new home ten years ago and we were thrilled it had a double wall oven unit that I had always dreamed of owning. Well, the first time I used the self-cleaning mode that dream became a nightmare! The oven was in cleaning mode and I was so happy as I had never had a self-cleaner before! When the cleaning was done, the door remained locked and the control panel was not working. After making sure it was cooled the next day, I called for warranty repair. They came out and fixed it and apologized for the inconvenience. I was thinking it was just a glitch and went on with life. Due to my husband’s business, we only live in the house part time as we do extensive traveling. My children are grown, so my cooking is mainly holidays and birthdays when we all get together. Since it is used so seldom, the need to clean is not as often as others might be. The next two times I cleaned it the same thing happened. The third time they came out they informed me that it was getting too hot in the cleaning mode and the steam was going into the computer panel and melting the electrical wire. They also said I would no longer be under warranty and from now on it would be my issue. The next two times I cleaned the oven, I did so the old fashioned way and skipped the self-cleaning. This week my oven started beeping and giving me a code and will not work. I called my trusted repair man and this is what I learned. The computer board is probably toasted. They no longer make the board, so he will have to send it out to be rebuilt. This will take 10 to 14 days and the cost will be somewhere in the neighborhood of $650.00! Are you kidding me?! How is this my issue? I have checked faithfully every few months, assuming that others are having the same issues, and that Whirlpool would be doing the right thing and recalling these ovens. Stupid me! This last time I had not even used the oven in three days and it still went out? I am old enough to remember when the first place you went to look for appliances was Whirlpool because they were good, they lasted and the company stood behind them. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. From now on they will be the last place I look! I’m not sure what is going to happen, but I can assure you I am not spending $650 to repair this piece of crap!

I have a two-year-old top of the line Whirlpool Duet Steam washer. Cleaning performance is adequate at best, but my biggest complaint is about the visible mold buildup that collects on the water dispensing plate as well as on the detergent, bleach and softener dispenser and rubber lining of the washer opening. I have cleaned the removable detergent dispenser weekly since purchasing. The water dispensing plate has a continuous buildup of thick black mold that can only be removed with a tooth brush and bleach and only a small portion of those openings are reachable. I have cleaned the machine with Affresh as recommended and exactly as the manufacturer recommends. Nothing changes! I contacted Whirlpool and was told this was normal for all washers in which some moisture always remains and that I should continue to clean and leave the door and dispenser drawer open to allow the areas to air dry. So, I have done all of those things for the past year and nothing has changed! I received notification that a class action suit had been filed against Whirlpool for this mold issue but have not been contacted in any other way. Not only is this mold visibly disgusting but certainly is worrisome from a health perspective. When I contacted the company a second time, I was told there was nothing that could be done and it was in no way a design flaw on the part of Whirlpool.

We had to reschedule another tech on the following Monday 6/24/19 to replace the part. 8 days after the refrigerator stopped cooling. Now fast forward 2 weeks and now we have the exact same issue, whatever was fixed did not correct the issue. We had to call back into Whirlpool to make a setup another service call. We have to wait 5 more days until a service tech can come out to recheck the issue. Whirlpool offered no other assistance. If I could I would return this defective unit and buy a different brand of refrigerator. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER WHIRLPOOL PRODUCT IN MY LIFETIME!!!! I will make sure that I let everyone I know that I would never recommend a Whirlpool product!!

Bought a Whirlpool refrigerator from Lowes 5 months ago. Already had a repairman out two times. The refrigerator is defrosting out on the floor. We are constantly having to change towels to catch the water. The last repairman said it could be fixed and started the procedure to get an exchange since it was still under warranty, but now Whirlpool is saying they still want to fix it even after we were told we were getting an exchange. These people are crooks and put out low quality merchandise, then dont back it up. I have seen complaint after complaint on the reviews. Whirlpool needs to be put out of business.

The problem is the freezer stays cold and the refrigerator does not. The vent from the freezer gets frozen, and the refrigerator part stops working. Its only 3 years old . We were told it would cost 700 bucks to fix it, and that a power surge could make it happen again. The capitol of power surges, Florida, what a complete waste of money. Four years ago, I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator - French doors (ice and water in the door) and freezer bottom drawer. Against everyone but the HH Greggs salesmans advice, I purchased the extended warranty as I had paid a large sum of money for the refrigerator. Within a year, I began experiencing problems with the ice maker. Over the next few years, I had to have it repaired/replaced an additional three times. Add to the whole mess the incompetency of the A & E Repairmen that required at least two visits each time to complete a repair and their inability to arrive during a 9 hour window, I stayed livid about my refrigerator for three long years. Finally, I demanded a replacement refrigerator under the lemon portion of my warranty. After numerous arguments, the warranty company offered me several different makes and models to pick to replace my hunk of junk. Stupidly thinking that my problems were related to one bad unit, I selected another Whirlpool only to have it completely crash a little over one year after acquiring it. I lost the food in it and am having to wait almost a month for the parts to arrive and the repairman to return. According to him, it will have to be completely rebuilt. I will never, never buy another Whirlpool!

After reading many of the 1,500 +/- complaints about this inferior product, I guess I should consider myself lucky. Ours didnt fail until this past Saturday, March 22, 2014. We purchased this Whirlpool (American Water Heater Company) water heater FG1H4040T3NOV at Lowes, and had it professionally installed, in October 2004, and we have had no issues until this past Saturday when we woke up to no hot water. After checking for the obvious, and finding no apparent cause for the failure, I considered it a fluke and relighted the pilot. The pilot took a few attempts to light, but it lit, and the burners came on.Three days later, we woke to no hot water again. This time, we placed a service call to the company that did the initial install. The technician came out, and after his inspection he informed me that the thermocouple/burner assembly needed to be replaced. He also informed me that this is a well-known issue, and Whirlpool has been sending out free updated replacement parts. He called Whirlpool, only to be told that they are no longer offering free, updated parts. Whirlpool also cited that the water heater was out of warranty (by less than 5 months). He gave me Whirlpools number, so I could contact them myself. As I smelled a rat, I began to do some online research about this issue, and, to my chagrin, I found out that I was far from alone with this issue. As of this writing, 1,500+ consumer and professional complaints, a settled class-action lawsuit, etc., etc. I contacted Whirlpool, explained my situation to the support rep, and, he proceeded to tell me that he couldnt help me with free replacement parts, due to the warranty being expired (less than 5 months). I argued with him, stating that this is not a warranty issue, but is in-fact a design/manufacturing defect issue, that has resulted in a redesign/re-manufacture. I cited the myriad of online data and negative testimonials, and I reminded him about the settled class-action lawsuit on this very topic. He acknowledged all of the above, was unimpressed, and offered to sell me the parts. After 15 minutes of back and forth, I asked to be escalated to the next level. But, of course the supervisor was unavailable, and If Id care to leave my name and number... yeah, right. Bottom line, Im very angry! I paid good money to Lowes for Whirlpools product, with a nine-year warranty. I had it professionally installed, and we have no hot water due to poorly designed parts. And... I am being forced to purchase the redesigned parts. Its truly unsatisfying to be an American consumer these days!

We purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator on January 18th. It has never worked since it was delivered. A service call was place the next day. It is now 2 and half months and 6 technician visits later and the fridge is still not working. Whirlpool customer service has been contacted and they want to continue sending technicians out rather than replace the fridge. The customer service manager, Demetrius, stated the additional service calls are not costing Whirlpool more money because the repair company has 90 days to fix the problem so they are not going to replace the fridge. While this may be fine for Whirlpool it is certainly not good customer service. We were told they cant call the service company to get the details of prior visits and that we need to call the service company as there is nothing Whirlpool customer service can do but schedule technician visits. After a lot of aggravation, losing hundreds of dollars of food and hours on the phone here we are without a working fridge. Buyer beware!

I purchased a Whirlpool classic range model number rf263LXTS0 on January 2010. We had some hang-ups on the kitchen renovation and were not able to install the appliances until May of 2011.I used the cooktop that evening and was very pleased. I then went to use the oven 2 weeks later and it did not heat up. I asked the contractor to check things out (maybe it was something minor that he could fix). He checked the things that he installed and everything on his end was working fine, so he told me to call Whirlpool.A service technician came out and, within 10 minutes, said that the oven controls were defective.I paid $450.00 for the oven originally. The service technician charged me $136.74 for 10 minutes to tell me that the oven control needed to be replaced (that is the major part of the oven) and that it would cost me $318.41 to replace the part.I called Whirlpool and explained my circumstance and Paula, the supervisor from Tennessee, said that there was nothing she could do. I told her that even if I installed the oven back in January of 2010, the major part of the oven should last more than 1 and 1/2 years. What terrible craftsmanship and crappy customer service. It is sad that customer service cant stand by their product and Whirlpool has to rely on making their money on repairing defectives products. I now have to go out and buy a new oven. I also buy a lot of appliances in my business and I will never buy a Whirlpool again.

Im so disappointed with this product. Its only a couple of years old, which seems fairly new as my old washer was over 20 years old when I finally got rid of it because of the noise it was making! First, the Cabrio stopped draining and spinning, even though the display showed that the cycle was done. Phoned Whirlpool, and the best they could do was send out a repairman - at our cost, of course! We refused, and kept using the machine - put it on for an extra drain and spin. Then, it stopped working completely! My husband hauled it out to a repair shop and was told it needs a new motherboard at a cost of $400 plus labor! This was an expensive washing machine, and I feel Whirlpool should offer its customers better service! I guess we need to buy a new machine - definitely not Whirlpool!!

I went to work and got a call that my kids are dizzy and throwing up. The house had filled with carbon monoxide. The only thing that saved us was the fact that my AC unit for the downstairs was broken, so it could spread the carbon monoxide to where we slept. I have a whirlpool water heater. This is the third or 4th time that the upper sensor failure code has come on. Our water heater turns off all the time and we have to fire it back up. In the past few months, it has started pouring water out from the long tube on the side of it anytime we turn it on for more then 10 minutes. The last time we called a plumber, I was trying to get a quote on a tankless water heater. Ive been so fed up with ours and I thought that would be a better route to go. The plumber explained the negative sides to a tankless water heater and explained that our water heater was a really nice, really expensive and fairly newer model. I told him that I had just gotten it about four years ago. He said he could just fix that one. So after looking at it, he acted as if he didnt know what an upper sensor was and told me it was under warranty and that I should call for the parts. Every time we have called for the parts, they send the same box thing on the front of the heater and every time, it doesnt fix it for long before it says the same thing. And now, like I said, the water heater has now added the problem of pouring water out of it. I need help. I dont know what to do. Im tired of not knowing if Ill have hot water or if the water heater is going to pour out water. Im pregnant and worried that if we cant get this fixed Ill continue to have this problem along with having a baby to take care of. Please help.

Then they failed to quickly provide needed repair or replacement in a timely manner. They also refuse to reimburse me for the food loss, which would not have ever occurred had they handled the issue appropriately from the beginning. TERRIBLE company. Regarding a Whirlpool Refrigerator (model ET8CHMXKQ04) purchased in 05. I dont remember exactly when the problem began but the freezer starts its defrost cycle, water drips down through the refrigerator compartment (soaking all paper/cardboard covered products), collects under the crisper trays and eventually spills out onto the floor. Its a river of water that requires a towel to collect.I believe whats missing is some sort of collection funnel and tube that catches this dripping water and delivers it to the evaporation tray behind the base cover plate under the refrigerator. Obviously, Whirlpool has no quality control nor does it do any field tests to ensure their products are designed and operate properly.

Wife and I bought a WRF990SLAM00 fridge in 5/2013. Seemed like the nicest model Lowes had at the time. The first one delivered had problems: it wouldnt stand level or seal properly, and had to be replaced. Another unit was delivered a few days later. This one - the same model - worked very nicely, for a year and a half. A few days ago, it got loud. My wife noticed in the freezer, some things were beginning to thaw. We called Whirlpool, who said, Oh, its over a year, and youre out of warranty. Sorry! Ok, so they suck. After we had a technician examine the freezer, he suggested, This is something Whirlpool needs to address. It wasnt the first (or fourth) problem with this fridge that hes seen. Called Whirlpool again, this time to gripe. Sorry, youre more than a year, so no warranty BUT, well sell you a service contract for $330! Hows that sound? It sounds like Whirlpool just disqualified themselves from ever getting their hands on another dollar from my family. Theres too many other companies who DONT treat their customers like garbage.

The bottom of the drawer collects water and freezes and then overflows onto the floor. There is no drain pan under the refrigerator. Then the freezer collects frost over the food, and walls of the freezer. I have to unplug the refrigerator and let it thaw and then plug it back in. This process is repeated every week. I have had it less than 2 years!

In less than a year my gas range required a new knob because it froze in place. They covered that but not the 4 new knobs since. I must clarify, its not actually the knobs but the thing underneath that my husband has had to replace ever since to our expense and time. Also in less than a year the paint under the knobs totally fell off. We contacted them about that and the reply was paint wasnt covered under warranty. Obviously they used heat resistant paint on the range top because that is perfect condition even with the constant cleaning, but the angled front where the knobs are I had to sand and repaint, not a good look for the stove. They really couldnt have just used the heat resistant paint for 2 1/2 farther? Just horrible quality and worse service. I used to be devoted to Whirlpool but since buying my new refrigerator - Samsung 100 percent from now on!
