I purchased a Cabrio Washer and Dryer set last October from Sears. The washer had a damaged washer basket and then stopped working altogether. The service call to get the washer working again was a fiasco. The tech replaced a switch which failed in the first 5 minutes and had to be called back to replace that defective switch. We now have the same problem all over again and we are on our third service call and the warranty is expired. Whirlpool is useless and will probably be out of business if they continue as the middle man for Chinese manufactured garbage. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product again. Word of mouth can make or break a business, not advertising. This stuff is real junk and trash. Im sorry we bought it. Do not buy any Whirlpool products.

I have purchased Protton 3 door (Protton 20142, S.N **) fridge in Mar 2016 and since purchase of the fridge I have facing cooling issue. Its take around 24 hours to make ice. After sales service is also pathetic because after raised request the service person came about 6 or 7 days later, and he did not check anything and recommend me to go to the service center. I am not sure why Whirlpool kept this type service person and service. My concern is if Whirlpool is not ready to provide home service then should mentioned in service commitment we dont provide home service. I am using first time Whirlpool product and I realized Whirlpool product are very bad and service is also too bad. I strongly recommend to everyone please dont buy the Whirlpool product and I also want to know either Whirlpool will provide service or this fridge product is useless for me.

When we bought our house the Matching set of Whirlpool Cabrio Platinums came with it as they were new. I decided to keep them and sell my LG Troms.Absolutely the worst mistake was keeping these Whirlpools. Who in their right mind would consider a washer with no agitator a washing machine? The clothes just sit and do nothing. They don’t get clean at all. Its a complete pile of useless junk and the person or persons who engineered it shouldn’t even be in charge of designing birdhouses.Whirlpool themselves should be ashamed to put out such a pile of garbage to the consumer. Our house came with all new Whirlpool appliances and we are going to replace them all and never give Whirlpool a look again. Whatever you do don’t fall for the shiny unit, slick salesmen. Because all youre going to get with Whirlpools washer is all talk and zero action. Thanks for the not so clean clothes Whirlpool. The local laundry mat thanks you when I need to actually clean my clothes.

We bought the Whirlpool duet washer & dryer in the winter 2011. The washer is absolutely awful. I have to keep it set on the Whitest White setting so every load gets a second rinse. In order for my clothes to smell CLEAN I use bleach in every load I can. With the loads I absolutely cant use bleach in, I have to be standing waiting to put the clothes in the dryer or I have to rewash the entire load because of the smell!! My towels are ruined from the bleach and my clothes are faded because of the multiple wash cycles. I have used the recommended Affresh numerous times and it does not help! Needless to say this washer was a total WASTE of money! We will be purchasing a new washer very soon! It will NOT be Whirlpool!!

This washer was expensive, platinum line. Clothes never smelled fresh and clean like they should. There is not enough water to cover and clean. After 4 years it started smelling dank and unpleasant even after cleaning cycle is run. Now I discover it has been leaking for quite a while. It will be 6 years old in July. The top wont stay up. This happened months ago. The part alone is 250.00 according to several sites. I just prop it up. Very displeased with this poorly constructed, expensive rip off!

In 1994 we built a new home and we used only Whirlpool Appliances. In July 2006 we replaced all the appliances with another Whirlpool products, although they were still working including the microwave. After two years the microwave stop working, replaced it with another Whirlpool microwave and the second one stop working last night (July 2014). I noticed the quality of all their products went down including, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Refrigerator, etc. The dishwasher heating element start to decompose and I replaced it. The washing machine get stuck and the water never stop creating a major flood in the house. The refrigerator door seal torn apart. I decided not to buy any more Whirlpool products.

Ice maker kept freezing up. Im continually taking the ice tray out to unfreeze. The frequent removal of the tray eventually broke the tab off on the liner. Ive now been told this (liner) is not a replaceable part and since that is the case, the warranty will not cover. Im upset that the repair technician did not process the claim properly and state that the make had a problem freezing. What kind of company would manufacture a product that would have parts that are unrepairable? You spend close to $2,000 on a refrigerator, wouldnt you think you would have an ice maker that works? I know they hope to sell more appliances this way but you can bet I will not be purchasing another Whirlpool anything! I will also be retracting my recommendations to friends and family to purchase a Whirlpool. The company does not stand behind its products.

In 2008, I purchased the 40-gal. Whirlpool electric water heater to replace the original unit in my home that had lasted 14 years without issue until it died of old age. After about 2 1/5 years, it died and I was given authorization to return it to Lowes at my insistence. Now after another 2 1/5 years, this one has died. So far, I have replaced both elements, lost a days work, missed out on a date because I could not take a shower and now Im told I have to replace the electrical box on top which wont get here until Monday. Its Saturday and I havent been able to take a shower in my home for 5 days now.The first CSR (Crystal) I spoke with implied that since I had 2 consecutive failures, this was a site problem, not a product problem. Theres nothing special about my site, and my old unit made it 14 years with zero repairs. I would argue that since both of the units only lasted 2 1/5 years, that the product is substandard. I asked to speak to a manager but was told no because they were all busy (no doubt) and her demeanor was unapologetic and unsympathetic. The second CSR (Nick) I spoke with was very nice and at least sympathetic. That goes a long way in customer service, but I was still not allowed to speak with a manager.I am going to try and repair it one more time, but I have zero confidence in Whirlpool and would never buy another Whirlpool product of any sort again. If I get it working, and after all Ive read here I doubt that I will, I will only be using it for the time it takes to get a replacement of another brand. This was my first experience with a Whirlpool product and you can be sure it will absolutely be my last.

We bought a Whirlpool Cabrio 6300 washer based off the salesmans recommendation (not very happy about this). After the warranty ran out, every time in the spin cycle, it makes a sound similar to a piece of metal banging around inside the cylinder during the cycle. Our friends have told us they had a similar experience and for their machine, they found out the bearings were going out. Weve had this machine a total of 3 years. I doubt we ever buy another item from HH Gregg plus will do our investigation on Consumer Buyers digest before we toss any more money out for a washing machine.

My 1 year old Whirlpool top loader is an absolute nightmare. It does not complete cycles. Stops all the time with various error codes. My washing comes out soaking wet. The pipes on the inside comes loose and floods the house. The machine stops all the time with all the washing clogged on one side of the drum. It is a 16 kg capacity machine but you cannot even think of putting 8 kg laundry in there. I will never, ever buy any Whirlpool product again. Cheap scrap! Thats what it is.

My Whirlpool Cabrio cannot wash sheets, blankets or any of this size. It balls up in the middle and form a bubble and only part of the items is washed and washing powders are trapped. I have purchased more sheets in the past 4 years than I have in the past 45 years of doing laundry, because the washing powders are not washed out. I wash on second rinse also, never fails and it still does not get all of it out. The clothing gets off balance if it was more than 3 small items. I have a leveling tool that I put on it often to make sure it is level. It’s something within the machine. I will never, never, never purchase any more Sears’ product. If anyone has jury-rigged this machine to work, please let me know. Sears has refused to help me, even today.

Two days after the one year warranty ran out on our front load washer it started making a terrible noise. Of course the Whirlpool warranty was no longer in effect. The good news I was sold an extended warranty from Nebraska Furniture Mart. Called the Service Provider and was told they will only service the washer if it is not working. After several more calls they scheduled a service call in 10 days. We are a family of four, yes no washer is a problem. Finally the technician showed up and said the main bolt holding the drum assembly in place had broken off. He would have to order the bolt. It is now on backorder for 3 weeks. No washing machine for 4 people and now nearly a month is a pain. Not only did my calls to Whirlpool do nothing but the calls to the third party Warranty Company have been very frustrating. My call to the salesperson at NFM was very helpful, but didn’t help get our washer fixed. This is our second and last set of Whirlpool laundry pairs in less than four years.

Whirlpool Refrigerator 36 inch #WRF993FIF. We have owned refrigerator for 3 months and both ice makers went out. Worst customer service ever with Whirlpool and their appliance specialists. Ordered new ice maker, but still broken. Whirlpool is saying it needs a new door!!! I have asked for a new refrigerator, but cant get anyone to respond. I am completely dissatisfied with the competence and accountability that I have encountered while dealing with Whirlpool Canada. I ordered a Whirlpool Refrigerator in September of 2011. I opted to switch the door swing myself since it is a relatively simple task and of course they charge you extra if they do it for you. Once I had the door installed, the last step was to screw on the handle. The door was missing the threading which allowed the handle to be installed. I contacted Goehmans to set up a service call. They looked at the fridge only to tell me that they needed to order an entire door. A month and a half later I had not been contacted by anyone regarding the whereabouts of the replacement door.Long story short, over four months later and after hours of phone calls recounting the details of the events numerous times to numerous employees, all Whirlpool had to say over and over again was I understand, but unfortunately we do not provide any compensation.” They said that the warranty only covered repairs and not product replacement, which would be fine if it ever broke but they delivered a fridge that was not built correctly in the first place. They took no responsibility for the lack of quality control. After speaking with the supervisor Josh, and insisting that we be compensated for the inconveniences and frustration, he finally agreed to extend the warranty by 3 months. I told him that they should offer a year extension since if they stood behind their product that it wouldnt even cost them a cent. He politely told me that he understood and what email address did I want the extended warranty information to go to and that he would offer only the 3 month warranty. When I received the email, I found out that I had yet another phone call to make in order to engage the extra 3 month warranty.I am extremely frustrated with the level of service and I feel as though they school their employees to be therapists that offer no solutions. They were all very willing to listen and offer a sympathetic ear, tell you that they understand but not to take action or offer a solution. They seemed to think that it was acceptable that I pay them full price for a fridge but not deliver the full appliance for a projected 6-8 months. In my book and to most consumers, this is not acceptable. When I pay full price for a product, I feel that a full product should be delivered to me in working order. Whirlpool got their money and the special order door seems to be at the low end of their priority list. How else can they justify a 6-8 month wait for part replacement?Somebody please sell Josh a car with no stereo system, make him pay for the option and see if he if he thinks waiting 6-8 months for it is acceptable. Oh yeah, and waste 6-10 hours of his personal time trying find out where the heck his stereo system is then tell him how much you understand. I guess I can stroke Whirlpool off as a brand of appliance for any future purchases.

Despite my claim being submitted within the first 4 months of purchase, Whirlpool would not assist in solving our issue. We purchased all major appliances from Whirlpool, to furnish our new home in August 2021. All appliances were white. The top of our gas range began discolouring immediately following the first use. The inside of the four corners immediately began to ware due to heat. I figured Id have time to put my claim in, and thought to see if it got worse. Once I finally had time to deal with the issue, I contacted them only to find out that we only had 30 days from the date of purchase (of which included 3 months of waiting for the products to arrive) to claim the issue, given that it was considered Cosmetic. Easy fix, since theyd simply have to change the top of the stove, but Whirlpool denied our claim. Do not purchase this product, unless youre looking for a sub-standard product and customer service.

Weve had this microwave (WMH31017AW-2) for 2 1/2 yrs and the door is falling apart. It started with one crack and now the middle glass of the door is falling out! I took the door off so the the glass wouldnt fall on the stove and the plastic around the door literally crumbled apart. So disappointed since that was the same reason we took the other one back that was in this house when we bought it. The microwave is now discontinued and when I did find a door online it costs as much as the microwave! Whirlpool doesnt distribute the dependable products that were, back in the day, associated with the name WHIRLPOOL. Washer MOD WTW4800XQ2 - I purchased this washer about 2 years ago after my 15 year old washer died. I have always used Whirlpool appliances as well as my Mother that recommended Whirlpool to me some 40 years ago. I knew when this machine was delivered and set up that I was in for change. It locks down to where you cant get in it for too long of a period of time. I am a really busy person, and HATE this, but if that were the only issue, I could accept that. We live on a farm and our clothes get really soiled especially in the warmer months. I like to pre-soak white clothes, NOT happening with this machine!!! It ends the cycle after about 30 minutes so I have to start over, wasting water. But the main issue is the machine tries to level the clothes, or whatever it is doing on its own before filling with water. I wash a lot of clothes!!! I am going to say that 90% of the loads of clothes that I have washed with this machine have been off balance, banging around bad. I then have to wait for it to unlock so that I can pull out the dripping wet clothes and replace to try and get it balanced. I am 59 years old, I got married at 14. So Ive been washing clothes for a LONG time... This machine is junk to say the least. I recently house sat for family. They purchased a new GE washer and dryer a little bit before I got these, wonderful machines!!! I washed dog beds, sheets, blankets and tons of clothes during this time. WOW, I had forgot that washing clothes didnt have to be torture. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product. This washer has exhausted me. I purchased it at Lowes on tunnel rd in Asheville, NC. Please, if you havent already, junk this design... Its gonna lose your loyal customers. This complaint has nothing to do with where I purchased it. I did not contact the store as they did not design the machine. I did NOT want to pay for service on a poorly designed product...

Have had the Cabrio for 5 years. Seems like a bearings issue. Expensive machine. We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine and dryer in May and it was the worst purchase we have ever made. We have had a technician out to our home three times. Whirlpool said that the next time the technician comes out to your house, you will have to pay for it and we have the extended warranty! The problems with the washing machine are many. 1. Leaves white streaks on dark clothes. 2. Not enough water covers the clothes, so clothes do not get clean. 3. The spin cycle is so violent that clothes are damaged. 4. The soak cycle is a joke. Soaking means to sit in water and soak. This machine drains the water so there is no soaking.5. With this very expensive machine, we can use only one cycle; bulky items on the low spin with a repeat rinse. The dryer is equally terrible. As I write this, I have two pairs of jeans going through the dryer for the third time. According to the technician, a heat sensor determines whether the clothes are dry. We have not had one load of laundry, big or small, that has dried in one cycle. But the technician said that this is how this machine works. We have tried all the cycles. According to Customer Service, the technicians found nothing wrong with the machines hence, we will have to pay for the next repair call. If you are looking at this machine and dryer, dont! Do not waste your money or your time. Washing laundry is a nightmare because the machines do not do what they are supposed to do --wash and dry the clothes.

This washer is an extremely poor choice if you wash clothes. It has so little water it does not dissolve HE detergent, Clorox 2, or OXI Clean. After even one wash it does not clean your laundry. If you choose to wash your sheets (even though there is a sheets and deep washer setting) its a joke. I could do better by washing things in the tub. I realize its a low usage water washer but you cannot even add more water unless you put it in with a bucket.

We bought a Whirlpool washing machine, and what a mistake! I just got off the phone with their customer we dont care department. It spins everything into a tight ball so when the clothes come out of the washing machine everything needs ironed, even permanent press. It also changes the water temperature. I like to wash some clothes in cold water, but the representative at Whirlpool told me it will sometimes add hot water to make the water warm. I am hoping this review will save others from purchasing a Whirlpool washing machine. We will stay clear of all of Whirlpool appliances due to the problem with this washer and Whirlpools lack of concern of an inferior product!

In 2006, I paid $1,300 for above fridge and bought extended warranty. Within a year, I had four service calls for condensation in bins that causes freezing of lunchmeat, veggies, etc. and anything put in them. The A&E service company said to use plastic bags and then said I should keep the bin drawers open at an inch so air could flow. Next call said vacuuming underneath would solve it. Final call said again to use bags and suggested modifying the fridge by making a hole in the sidewall (which would nullify the warranty).Since I declined modifying the fridge, he contacted Whirlpool saying I declined service. I still have this problem, was going to call for service because I could really use the space the drawer provides but I have a feeling I will just be throwing money away. I was going to contact Whirlpool but Ive done that too. I feel totally ripped off on an item that should have quite a few years of service left.

I contacted Whirlpool on 3 separate occasions. Each time they told me to have the plumber call them so that they could determine what the problem was. Each time he was able to get the water heater going again, but it would only operate for about 3 months and then it would go out again. To date, I have incurred $245.00 in plumbers service fees. My last call to Whirlpool was on 5/14/2013. This water heater was purchased on 1/25/2010 at Lowes in Evans, GA. It went out over the weekend, but the plumber was able to relight it. When I called Whirlpool on the 14th of May, I was told since it was working now, there was nothing they could do. I am tired of dealing with this issue. They wont stand behind their product.

We purchased a Whirlpool French Door Refrigerator in December 2016. About 3 months later the back panel was frozen preventing it to cool. We unplugged it and called customer service. They sent out a repairman, but by then it had thawed out. He told me he couldnt fix what he couldnt see, but he didnt even check it out. Two months later it did the same thing. Then he said I must have left the door open. He made me look stupid. During that year he came out 4 times until he finally changed all parts. We kept telling customer service we wanted a new one. After going back and forth with them they finally are reimbursing us, but they charged us $300.00 because we didnt want another Whirlpool product... now we found out they have the worst ratings and we certainly had a very bad experience not to mention all the food I had to throw out because of it. They did not care at all. So please do not purchase any Whirlpool products. I would not recommend that product to anyone.

In August 2012 I purchased a side-by-side fridge with indoor water/ice dispenser. The appliance was purchased from Sears and delivered and installed by their employees or contractors. In November 2014 the refrigerator abruptly stopped making ice and began continuously cycling through the ice making process without creating ice cubes. Repairman told me the ice maker needs to be replaced for $300. He stated the control board went bad and the only recourse is an out of pocket replacement of the entire ice maker. A two year old fridge. The fridge has never been moved, abused, misused or dirty. It has only been used in a two adult home under normal household conditions. I would have thought an item that cost $1000 would last longer than two years!

I bought a whirlpool washer from Whirlpool on February 27, 2011. Since then, they have come out and repaired the washer for 5 times. They have even taken the whole motor out, and replaced it. The last time they came, they said I would have to pay for the next time. Now, it has broken again, and I have to pay for a washer repair that is less than a year old. We bought the Whirlpool washer at Sears, and neither Sears, nor Whirlpool will stick by their product. We cannot afford another new washer, and to pay for repairs is a stretch too. A disaster from start to finish. I would give it zero stars if possible. Purchased from Home Depot online in September, 2020. The first delivery was scheduled for October 11, 2020 at 7am on a Sunday. I spent hours on the phone trying to get the time changed. I was assured it would take place later. That didnt happen. The delivery service Temco called at 6:30a and refused to come back later. I had to make a new appointment. A week later they delivered the dishwasher, left it on the porch, refused to uncrate it or bring it inside the house, refused to haul away the old machine and stole the Dishwasher parts kit that I had paid for which delayed installing the dishwasher. After the machine was installed I discovered the machine did not come with a manual. I was told I had to download and print the manual. When I complained that I should not have to use my paper and ink to print a users manual after paying $800 for a dishwasher. I was promised a check to offset my costs. I was supposed to get a credit for my inconvenience but that never happened either. The first time I ran the machine using the one hour cycle water was all over the machine and I had to dry inside. I was told that I had to use a longer wash cycle so I did the second time. After 4 hours of washing, the glasses had a film on them, even though I rinse the dishes before putting them in the machine the dishes had some debris on them and water had still collected on the top of the glasses.Whirlpool sent a repair company out and the technician said motor pump and display control were faulty and it would probably be cheaper to replace the dishwasher rather than repair it. I was told I would get an email the next day telling me what would happen. I never got the email. During the week I called Whirlpool and Home Depot many times to complain about the faulty dishwasher, stolen parts and the promised refunds for my inconvenience as well as having to print the manual. Calling Whirlpool or Home Depot customer care will take hours and gets you nowhere. A week after the repair person came out I called the repair company to request a report as to what had been done and was told that they were coming back out the following Monday to fix the machine again. Monday, The repair technician came out and replaced the control panel but not the pump. The machine wont heat up to dry the dishes--the heating coil wasnt even warm after being on for 8 min. I am supposed to be contacted again for a 3rd visit!! I have a dishwasher that is faulty (read lemon) and Home Depot wont allow me to return it because their return policy is 48 hours after delivery. Whirlpool refuses to replace it unless the technician says it cant be fixed. Obviously, that will never happen. I should have repaired my old dishwasher rather than waste my money on this horrible machine. Whirlpool used to make fine products but those days are over. How does running a dishwasher for four hours saving energy? My old over 10 year old Whirlpool dishwasher was perfect until the pump broke. The dishes were always clean, dry and came out of the machine hot and sanitized. I am so disappointed in both Whirlpool and Home Depot.

Ive owned whirlpool appliances for forty years or more, and have been consistently pleased with them. My first washer and dryer lasted eighteen years while raising a family. Brand X lasted eight years with at least four repairs before we dumped the set. We moved and sold one set with the house, but my newest washer and dryer set is eleven years, and works fine. Ive had at least four ranges. We sold two of them with the houses, but theyve all been fine, just bought a snazzy new Whirlpool range as an upgrade. Im on my fourth Whirlpool refrigerator, but again we sold one with the house and we upgraded one perfectly good Whirlpool refrigerator to a bigger side by side with icemaker. Third whirlpool dishwasher. Weve moved a lot, leaving behind appliances and buying new ones. Sure, Whirlpool appliances break down, but they sell zillions of them, and you never hear about the zillions that never break down.

I purchased this Whirlpool washer (model WTW7600XW2) on October 2011. Fabric softener dispenser is full of water at end of cycle. Repairman has replaced parts three times, but the problem is still not corrected. Today, I talked with a Whirlpool supervisor. She says this is normal. She told me to take the cup out and empty it. The cup is not removable, so she said I could blot it out with a cloth or sponge. I paid $800.00 for a washer with an automatic fabric dispenser that I must empty manually. I have used whirlpool appliances for 50 years of marriage, but this is my last one. I am very disappointed with customer service.

Needed a washer right away and have had Whirlpool before. Simple & easy to use. Not confusing to the average person or teenager for that matter. Reliability from Whirlpool is excellent. I have had many products from them and have enjoyed them all. They have been quite reliable over the last 9 years. They are out of date but they work. Not a lot of bells and whistles but still nice. They are both full size and have enough options for me. I am still happy with the pair and would purchase again if needed in the future. Price was good at the time as I cannot see spending $1K on them. Not always the more expensive is a good idea either.

They replaced on Mar. 19 and we had the same Door code problem. Called Whirlpool and they sent out a Tucson repair tech and he ended up coming out at least six times changing 3 switches, 2 cams, 2 brackets, control board, and line filter. Still had problems and Whirlpool requested he call their tech and he did and they told him to make the same changes and he told them he already did all that and there still was a problem. Then Whirlpool told him to switch some wires on control board which did not solve anything. Then second thing they told him was to file and clean door brackets which also did not solve the problem. We called back to Whirlpool to tell them we did not want this defective microwave any longer as all these repair trips were not solving anything. They wouldnt give us a answer right then and said they would call us back 24 to 48 hrs and we are still waiting. We will never recommend Whirlpool to anyone nor ever buy from them again.

We purchased Model WTW81920758200YW0 on September 8, 2012. Its performance has been unsatisfactory, not cleaning the clothes as advertised. Not long after the warranty expired the main bearing failed, bringing a local service technician and we were left with a bill of over $300.00. Yesterday, the machine stopped in mid-cycle. The display went blank and the lid lock would not release. I called a local service company for a visit and the soonest a repairman could show up was next week.A call to a service we had used for the bearing surmised that without knowing the cause of the failure they could only guess that a circuit board was at fault. That visit would be over $300.00 with labor and materials. That was the last straw. We broke the lid lock to retrieve the contents and took a ride to buy another brand of washer. We went back to the appliance store where we purchased this machine to buy a Samsung front loader. The salesman apologized for selling the Cabrio in the first place. Good money after a bad product.

Product: Whirlpool Gold Series, Model WRX988SIBM01: Purchased 2014 at Lowes. 2nd day after delivery, called Whirlpool, refrigerator not working properly, freezer drawer will not close, condensation on outside. Sent person that delivered the refrigerator to fix problem, freezer had frozen ice behind each drawer approximately 2 inches that would not allow drawers to close. Delivery person used hair dryer to melt ice and adjusted drawers. Still periodically have to physically remove ice build up to allow drawers in freezer to seal properly. Ice maker stopped working, makes no ice at all, ice comes from inside refrigerator not from freezer, bad design.Today woke up to freezer drawers completely thawed and had to throw away all food, panel shows temperature at -2*. All food thawed and unable to be cooked/used. Called Whirlpool could not send someone until next Tuesday (4 days). We are a family of 5 and cannot wait that long. Unfortunately have called 3 other appliance companies only to find that refrigerator has to be repaired by special technicians! This is our first Whirlpool, bought because made in America, have been very disappointed with our $2500.00 purchase. Not sure that we will ever purchase another Whirlpool product, our inclination will be to buy less expensive product and choose to replace as opposed to paying recurring service calls + parts and labor.

Retail price, $3100. Purchased from Sears Outlet for 2/3 of that amount due to dings on a side panel, back and some blemishes on the front. Still sold as new with a new warranty (Good thing!). Ive had full use of the unit for 1 month out of 3 that Ive had it. Freezer stays at a temperature in the mid-20s and, after 4 repair visits, it turns out the compressor is faulty and now Im waiting for the 2nd part to arrive and be installed to see if that corrects the problem. Sears stepped away from the problem saying it will be repaired. Whirlpool has wonderful telephone support that is totally committed to me staying with a faulty appliance until its fixed. My view is that a unit that expensive, should be no problem to replace allowing Whirlpool to take as long as they want to make repairs and re-sell it. But no; their commitment is to keeping the refrigerator in my house and running a service tech back and forth while I continue tossing food that cannot be used.

Its awful! We paid over $600 for our Whirlpool Gold Series convection/microwave clean release oven (model GMH 6185XVQ1). It worked fine for 12.5 months at which time it started clicking and, after a final zapping sound, would not heat anything at all. I called Customer Service, Oh, so sorry, its past its one year warranty. I was finally transferred to Escalations then to the supervisor of the Escalation specialist. Finally, we negotiated that I would pay for the service call ($129) and they would pay for parts (which were around $300 for a fried magnetron, diode, and something else). That repair was 6 months ago. Today while heating a glass of water in our microwave, I heard the familiar zap and no matter what, the microwave will not heat anything. I called Customer Service again, figuring the newer parts were still under warranty. Wrong. The newer parts were only covered for 90 days. This time, they tried to sell me a service plus package. For only $289, they will re-warranty my microwave for 1 year after they come out and fix it again (cost on me). My other option is to pay $129 again for another service call plus any parts (which Im sure will be about the same as last time. I will never buy Whirlpool again! Buyer beware!

Whirlpool wrf560seyw00 refrigerator plastic tasting water - Purchased 22 months ago. Did not think a warranty was necessary. Even if I had a warranty, they say they wouldnt have paid on the claim. I called Whirlpool asking for a one time goodwill policy adjustment considering Ive outfitted my home in all new Maytag/Whirlpool appliances over the past 3 years. In a nutshell, their plastic water lines to the dispenser in my fridge are deteriorating. There are plastic floaters and a horrible plastic smell and taste. You cannot drink it. First, they blame the filter mixing with the chlorine from my city water (go ahead and laugh... because thats just nuts) and when I told them I removed the filter two weeks ago and there are floaters in the water, they said my water still was to blame. Heres a thought... Dont use cheap plastic lines when you sell someone an expensive appliance! Is it really that difficult to offer a quality product? This is a smaller three-door unit (French on top w/ bottom freezer). There is no water holding tank because its small and we have a copper supply line. My neighbors dont have trouble with theirs either. I may be female but Im not an idiot. Maytag/Whirlpool corporation has lost a loyal 20 plus year customer.

We bought this dishwasher new from the Brick 2 or 3 years ago. It was bought not because old dishwasher wasnt working, but we needed a new fridge and stove so we also bought a dishwasher to match the new stainless steel fridge/stove. If I could give 0 stars I would. Biggest complaints: It doesnt matter what soap, what setting or how much your rinse/scrape your dishes THIS DISHWASHER WILL NOT CLEAN THEM. Its very rare it actually cleans a dish or utensil properly. If your plate had ketchup on it, it wont clean it. But if you had a sandwich on the plate and managed to not get ANYTHING from your sandwich on the plate, it would come out clean. The drain constantly clogs. We rinse everything, but the drain hose constantly clogs to the point the unit wont drain. Have to remove the unit, take off hoses and blow them out. It clogs because the strainer at the bottom of the dishwasher which is supposed to stop stuff from going down the drain hose doesnt work. If you look at the strainer and the system they use to stop stuff from going down the drain hose. Its no surprise it doesnt work. By design it cant work. My brother in law is a licensed appliance repair man. Sears actually paid for his schooling. He installed and hes fixed the clogged drain numerous times. He agrees. Worst dishwasher ever.

2016 Cabrio Washer - I had an 11 year old Maytag washer that finally gave up so rather than go through the repair I decided to upgrade to a new washer dryer and went with the Whirlpool Cabrio W/D pair. I am shocked at the washers inability to clean even the most basic of stains. I have to pre-treat clothes like never before, have tried every type of wash cycle offered and cant believe the amount of time it takes to clean clothes. Over one hour??? My Maytag may have agitated the heck out of a load but in less than 30 minutes everything was clean. Ive had to re-wash load after load of the most basic everyday stains. I was hoping the larger drum would allow me to cut my laundry time down but that is not the case, and find myself putting a few things in at a time so they get washed. Im stuck with this piece of crap and have only had it for one month... Cant wait for it to start breaking down and dealing with repairs as so many of these comments mention. I miss my Maytag!!!

We purchased the Whirlpool Duet Sport matching washer and dryer new in 2006
We purchased the Whirlpool Duet Sport matching washer and dryer new in 2006 from a local appliance store. The washer was around $1,000. The salesman sold us on the load capacity, telling us it can wash 15 pairs of jeans. We dont overload it, mostly because its a high-efficiency washer and doesnt use much water (Im still trying to figure out the concept of how can you clean a whole load of laundry with a little bit of water). Its very quiet, but the cycles take longer than standard washers. Also, you must use very little soap (too much soap will cause the washer to stop and display an error code, which youll have to call a technician to come and reset). It is now 2013, and the washer started thumping during a cycle and there was a burning rubber smell. We called an appliance repairman who gave us an estimate for repair of $800 to $900 (for a bad bearing/bearing casing and inner basket). Im sure that there was quite a markup on those parts! It seems to me that the older non-efficient washers lasted longer than 7 years, and certainly didnt cost $1,000 when new.

This refrigerator (Model #wrf560seymoo, Serial # VS31343718) was new in April 2013. In the last 3 years it has required 3 service repairs. Two under the extended warranty, one recent one 3 months out of warranty. All repairs came up in the last 3 years. The first repair addressed frost build up in the freezer. The second required replacement of the water filter compartment and the third will be addressing water dripping from the freezer door when I open it. Even after turning off the ice maker and removing the frozen puddle from the bottom of the freezer, it still drips water when I open the door. I have a call into service on this right now. I would like the company to fix the current issue even though it is outside of warranty. This product is too new to have so many problems and be just over 5 years old.

We purchased this washer on 2008-04-27. It ran okay until a few months ago when it began making strange intermittent noises. This is now happening more and more often. I reviewed a lot of websites and see that this is a common occurrence for Whirlpool Cabrio washers, and Whirlpool will not stand behind it and make it right. Im going to write them a letter mirroring what Im saying here, and remind them that other appliances in my house are coming due for replacements or upgrades. Whirlpool and its affiliates will not be part of those upgrades going forward. I have no patience or tolerance for expensive **, which is what they put out here. I will have to purchase a replacement washer since this seems to have two major areas of failure, both extremely expensive to repair. I might check out Roper and see what they have--its apparently very well rated by the folks that work on these things.

I purchased a 40-gal Whirlpool water heater model 40t91-403 last week and paid a plumber to have it installed. The old one (GE 40 gal) worked fine except for a leak. The new one used all of the old connections except the 2-inch in and out pipes. Same connections, hot, cold and gas. At first I got about a quart of hot water and then all cold. Whirlpool changed the valve and cold water pipe (inside the tank) and still the same. They are trying to tell me that the tank is fine - I have a plumbing problem. Two plumbers have told me different, but still they insist. Yes, I am upset. The old GE, even with a leak, performed better!

If you are on this website, keep reading. You will definitely find many people that have your same problem. We purchased our refrigerator 5 years ago. Since then we have had a leak inside of it which is gradually forming mold that I have to cleanup. The ice maker and water dispenser do not function for months at a time. I just purchased 2 drawers for the same reason as the review on May 5, 2016. The tabs break off of the front panels and the panel falls off of the drawers. Theres no way to pull them out. We paid over $200.00 for two drawers!I spoke with customer service at Whirlpool and read them the 2016 review. Their answer was that you should not believe everything you read. My answer was, How cant I? Its happening to the refrigerator I own. They just kept giving robotic answers. The conversation was that of someone that is in denial of having a problem. They dont care. Instead of at least offering a discount on the drawers, she offered me an over $400.00 one year warranty. Pathetic! Whirlpool has just lost another customer.

We bought a gas hot water heater from Lowes on Dec. 31, 2010. In July 2011, there was no hot water. After much yelling and headaches, Whirlpool agreed to send out a technician to look at it, since I refuse to go in the attic and I will not work on gas appliances. After 7 days with no hot water, they replaced a valve that failed, they said, because our attic was too hot. The old unit never complained. Eight months later out, the unit went again (and we had an attic fan put in). This time, Whirlpool sent out a local plumber (and I paid for the call) though we had a warranty and extended plan with Lowes?! This time I was told no problem it was too windy and it blew out the pilot. Its funny we never noticed the attic being windy even during the hurricanes. Four to 5 months later, well, you guessed it but this time my husband just re-lit it. Then the next time, 5 months later, my brother-in-law did it. That was August to September 2012. See, this morning, there is no hot water. I had to fight with Lowes since we have the 5-year extended plan. I cannot get anyone to explain why it makes sense to them that a 2 1/2 year old hot water heater has to be re-lit every 4-6 months. Then I went online. Now I know why Lowes and Whirlpool are ignoring the issue. So, anyone know a good lawyer or what are they doing to get satisfaction?

Purchased a whirlpool water heater 04/08/2005 and it worked for a short time. It had a 6 year warranty. I had to replace the thermocoupler assembly 1 time and it worked fine until last week. 09/02/1011, 4 months after warranty ran out, the unit started leaking severely from the top ? (Could of understood the bottom) here. After investigating further and being told to basically pound salt by the warranty number I called, I removed the top cove r(glued on by spray in insulation) and carved away the spray in insulation. All the bosses/threaded fittings for the inlet outlet and anode rod were all leaking under the insulation where it could not be seen! I know for a fact this unit was leaking long before the warranty expired! But because of the way it is built it is impossible to see it!. I strongly feel this was a manufacturing defect and there are hundreds if not thousands of these units in people houses all over the country!

Handle needs smarter design. I purchased model #WRT311FZDM00 in November of 2015, didnt install in my new home till December. I am a single senior female, so there is little wear on the fridge, unlike a family of several people and with kids. The door handle actually broke just behind the screws that hold it in place, the plastic part of it broke into a couple of pieces. The cost to replace this handle is approximately $80, which is ridiculous in my opinion. Please start making things of quality materials instead of cheap plastic, especially at a stress point of a part. Even I know better than that. All 4 of my major kitchen appliances are Whirlpool, as well as my washer/dryer. I thought I was buying quality products. Hopefully things will hold up better with the other ones.

My Duet washer is just 3 years old and has had light use as there are only two people in the household. After just 3 short years the machine stopped working. We were told it needed a controller board and new valves. The cost of the repair was quoted at $733.00. This is far more than we paid for the machine. So we called customer service and at first they thought they could sell us a plan for $350.00 that would cover the repair but it was denied by the supervisor. So zero help, absolutely nothing. Now the backdrop here is that our last Whirlpool (same type) is still in use with our son no repairs in 15 years. Does anyone reading this think we should buy another Whirlpool or recommend it to our Friends and family? I think a Maytag is in our future. Whatever happened to companies standing behind their reputation in America?

I have had my washer dryer set for only 3 years and have all the problems that have already been posted. Whirlpool has no recall on this washer (Cabrio) and does not plan on helping out anybody in any way. Their solution is pay for everything out of pocket or buy their one year warranty for ironically the price of what a new motor, and any of the other common items that are breaking would cost. And this is only good for ONE year. With the history of this company I would expect this to last at least ten years or longer before we start discussing replacing anything. I also had a Maytag that I had a problem with and did not get anywhere with that either. Whirlpool/Maytag, you need to stand behind your product. Your name is not going to get you anywhere nowadays. This blog has a spot about legal representation. If you can help me, please contact me.

This is a freezer on top unit. Purchased in 2015, unit quit cooling, started making a roaring noise. Called local technician, he added 2 oz of Freon, said he has seen many of these same unit losing Freon. Technician said line that goes to compressor is copper and hooks up to aluminum line before attaching to compressor. This is leak point for freon; no way to know when the leak started, but freon almost gone and cost to pressure check for source of leak is costly and probably would not repair problem. Got 6 yrs out of it and I am replacing with another brand. Will never buy Whirlpool again. Should have got 10-12 yrs of use. Do not buy this unit. Wrote Whirlpool first, but no help. Indicated this could be a problem with these units but no recall so I am on my own. Out $900 for a new refrigerator. Big hassle. Unit no good.

On the 27th March 2012 I bought a new Whirlpool 6th Sense washing machine S/N 411048002028 AWOE 9210 - 30 9Kg for E499.00. I brought it home and plumbed it adding in a lime filter on the water line to protect it from limescale. On the 14th September 2016 a service technician replaced the entire drum as the old one made so much noise and the ball bearings are part of the drum. On the 7th June 2013 a technician replaced the drive belt claiming that it moved if a light load was put into the machine. On the same day I added an extension of 3 years Guarantee at Euro 89.00. On the 14th October 2013 a technician examined the machine for a water leak but found nothing and charged me for the call. Out E25.00. I lived with the noise of the spin cycle ever since. The noise got steadily worse until 27th September 2016 when the machine finally packed in. I stripped the machine down to find the ball bearings on the drum completely rusted over so the drum was rotating without the cushioning. On the same day I bought a Bosch machine and decided to forget about the extra guarantee as the offending parts had already been replaced once and did not even last 4 years. I will bring it to the recycling yard later today as that is all it is good for. It was bought in Media World, Orio Center, Bergamo. It was paid for by Gianni ** who is my father-in-law and had a loyalty card for the shop.

I rinse and dry the machine when I am done using it. The repair man said it was because manufacturers are not using primer and just one coat of cheap paint. What now? I Wish I had reviewed this refrigerator sooner. I bought a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser in the door in 2016. Problem #1: Water leaks from the water dispenser and dribbles down the front of the door. I am as vigilant as I can be about wiping up the spills, but over time it has left a water stain. Stainless steel is not stainless! Problem #2: The freezer is too narrow. Too many frozen items that come packaged in boxes have to be wedged into it or stood on end. Problem #3: Ice cubes sometimes randomly drop out of the dispenser and melt on my hardwood floor. Problem #4: Even though the water is filtered, mineral deposits have built upon the well that collects the drips and I have yet to find any product that cleans it. It looks horrible and filthy. If Id had any idea how awful this appliance would look after just a couple of years, I would have been in contact with Whirlpool immediately.

My oven had been temperamental since day one, then got worse over time. I do not use my oven that much so was not really worried or alarmed until a tray of cookies caught fire. It was set at 350 and jumped to 525 on its own. (I bought an oven thermometer to monitor) Minor burn taking tray out but all okay :-). Contacted Lowe’s where we bought it and they would do nothing (note: at this point the oven is 15-months old and out of warranty). Advised me to contact Whirlpool. Did that - they sent out a repair service and they determined it was the temp. sensor. It is now April 2014 and I am still waiting for the part (this all started Sept 2013). I have since talked and wrote to Whirlpool for this to be resolved and also asked that the range be recalled due to fire hazard at the least! When I spoke to them in December, they said they could give me ‘50% off the part’. Remember I am still waiting for that part, lol! After writing corp h/q, they said “Sorry, since we cant get the part why not have someone come in and take the old part out and have it rebuilt.” I ask you Whirlpool w/q would you be happy with that??? Will post any follow-ups... would love to hear from anyone else with this problem - model # GFE461LVS. Great day everyone. :-)

Cabrio WTW8200YWO - We purchased this washer five years ago. About a year ago it started getting noisier and noisier on spin cycle. Now it sounds like a jumbo jet taking off. A Google search quickly revealed this is a ubiquitous problem with these washers. As we are in our 70s and dont have kids at home, we are very light users of the washer. First, I would suggest that no one buy this washer. Second, I suggest that Whirlpool should recall these washers. I called Whirlpool and it turns out they clearly know about this issue. The good news is they will offer you a discount on repairs or even on a new machine. The bad news is it will still cost you several hundred dollars to fix their design defect. I suggest that you avoid purchasing Whirlpool products both because of their defective design and because of Whirlpools unwillingness to take responsibility for these problems.
