Whirlpool fridge still freezes water in the bottom of freezer... after five
Whirlpool fridge still freezes water in the bottom of freezer... after five service attempts. We purchased a five-year warranty and so far, they claim that as long as the warranty is good, they will continue to warranty it. We now have three and a half years left. We have currently owned our refrigerator for just over a year (approx. 18 months). During this time, it has had the same warranty repair issue that has been serviced five times so far. We now have an appointment for a sixth time since RC Willey does not want to fix a lemon the right way. The first three warranty repairs were under the manufacturers warranty. We are now under a warranty (extended) that was purchased from the place we bought the fridge from, RC Willey.I want my money back on the whole deal. I was going to be civilized about it because I thought they were common sense decent place to buy from. I thought they would, through common sense, realize that this unit is a lemon and allow credit towards another fridge. In just the past two years, we have bought from RC Willey over $10,000 worth of flooring, appliances, etc. and thats not counting previous years.

This refrigerator is less than 1 yr. Old and this repair will be the FOURTH. The severe lack of craftsmanship and customer service is shocking! Most states do not have lemon laws for appliances, however something needs to be done to compensate me for THE TIME and inconvenience this caused my family. I needed to purchase a second compact refrigerator because I knew that it would break down again!

Purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer a few years back... Started getting F1 error message and just proceeded thru it like most did initially, but now has become pain in the rear just to do one load of laundry as we get the error 2-3 times when we start each load - then on every load w/ 21 minutes left on the cycle. From the looks of things online this is a chronic problem and should be fixed by manufacturer. I called Whirlpool customer service and first person I talked with said they understand it is an issue but no longer are any recalls or reworks on that machine. I asked to speak w/ supervisor and sat on hold until I got one. Was then informed they do know it was a problem but was not something they could do anything about other than schedule a service company to come take a look. I specifically asked if there was at one time a recall or if they were fixing this issue for a while. She said Yes, they took care of some of their customers but are no longer doing that for this model. So basically because I didnt call in at the right time I need to fix my machine myself. I said it will be the last Whirlpool or Whirlpool associated appliance I ever purchase if this is the kind of customer service I can expect... The supervisor just said she was sorry to hear that and to have a nice day. Hopefully enough people read these reviews as I wish I would have before purchasing my Cabrio and dont buy Whirlpool.

We purchased this water heater (Whirlpool 50 gallon, 9-year warranty, Regular Electric Water Heater, Model Number ES50R92-45D) in July 2015 when Lowes had a special financing offer. Doing other remodeling in the house, we didnt have it installed until the beginning of November. A local licensed plumber installed this for us and we havent had a hot shower since. We have called Whirlpool at least five times. Theyve had us replace the elements, replace the electronic thermostat AND the regular thermostat, then they even had us call a warranty plumber they use to inspect the tank and authorize what needs to be done next. When he arrived, he said he hadnt ever even SEEN this model before. Being fed-up with cold showers, I called Lowes to see if we could just take the thing back to the store, but they said that since it was after the 90 days, I would have to get an authorization number from Whirlpool. I just spent another 20 minutes on the phone with Whirlpool explaining my situation and they said that they cant authorize the return of a tank that can be repaired. I then asked if we didnt have a money back guarantee and the guy said, Unfortunately NO. He then suggested I call the plumber they had recommended to come out and look at it again. The guy was from Tampa and when he was here, he just wanted to get home since it was nearly 5 PM AND hes the one who said he had never seen this model before. What would be the point of calling him AGAIN??? When I buy a BRAND NEW product still in the box from a reputable store, I do NOT expect to have to troubleshoot and fix it. IT SHOULD WORK. Well, I have learned another valuable lesson from the school of hard knocks (and cold showers)...Always read the comments on a product before purchasing.

After 48 years of marriage, I had never had a new, matching washer/dryer set. I had had several new washers, but only used dryers. These all were very good units and served me well for years. So I was excited to buy a new, matching set. I have never been soooo dissatisfied with anything in my life. As I have read from other reviews, the washer uses very little water, sometimes hardly enough to get the load of clothes wet, very little soap, and in my opinion, does hardly any agitating. I dont feel my clothes have ever appeared clean. The only ones that look clean were the ones that started out looking clean when I put them in. I know this is all an ecology thing, water saving, government guidelines, etc., but please give me my old washer back. It did enough agitation to get clothes clean. And the dryer usually will not get the jeans dry on the first attempt. I have tried various settings, and they just dont get dry. In short, I HATE THIS WASHER/DRYER SET. I have heard others talk about the same thing. No one likes them, but we are stuck with them. Would like to have the government step in and see how dissatisfied everyone is with them and force Whirlpool to give us our money back, trash these units, and buy something that actually works. PLEASE, IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR WASHERS AND DRYERS, DONT BUY THESE. I believe they are called Cabrio.

Bought the HE Whirlpool Cabrio in 2013 after having my old agitator Maytag
Bought the HE Whirlpool Cabrio in 2013 after having my old agitator Maytag for 19 years. After reading the other reviews I do not feel alone. An awful washer, a year after our purchase the spin cycle is so loud we have to close the laundry room door. Now it has been leaking into my basement. I called a repairman, explained my problem. He suggested to junk the washer, it will cost more to repair than buying a new washer. In addition my clothes did not clean properly, soap stains on clothes because it does not use enough water. This was about $1000 purchase that lasted less than 4 years! I am done with Whirlpool and suggest to anyone not purchase a HE washer, nothing like the old style agitator washers.

Bought a Whirlpool fridge (WRF560SFHZ) 3.5 years old not cheap! Suddenly one day, the freezer drawer cannot close properly. Since it broke down on a long weekend, I have to wait 3 days in order to contact Whirlpool customer services. And then wait for another 4 days for them to send a technician. The technician advised it is a screw on the rail fall down and he fixed it and charged as 115CAD repairing fee (for a loose screw). He said it is a product defect from Whirlpool and that we should call Whirlpool to ask for a refund.Of course after a long wait from the hotline, Whirlpool refused to refund, saying that, It is not within warranty period and it is perfectly normal that you paid for 17** CAD fridge and can only used for 3,5 years and that things happens (screw can get loose). The service rep. even said, You bought it, it is your property now... And they dont care you have to throw away food in the freezer since the door cannot be closed. And of course they refuse to admit that the product has an inherent defect... Will never buy this brand ever again!

So 2 weeks later pass I received no bracket No screws. I called whirlpool oh yes we got the address wrong. Resent it, just one screw no bracket and I needed 2 screws. I called again oh yes we did get the order for the bracket too but you have to pay $7. I said ok no problem. Can you do fast shipping? They said sure. I called Monday August 25th. They said I should receive it by Wednesday August 27th. I had to pay extra for the shipping. Here I am September 2nd w/ no bracket. Called again. They said it wasnt next day shipping, it was 2 day shipping and its at the post office. But the shipping number they gave me was for the one screw. I believe I should get my money back. I spoke to a supervisor, took her number down. Still waiting for a call because the mailman came and I didnt receive anything yet again.

If you are considering a Cabrio washing machine, save yourself the aggravation and buy something else. I purchased a Cabrio model WTW5640X from Lowes 2 years ago. It has been one disappointment after another. First, the clothes were coming out really wrinkled and not fully rinsed. I now routinely use the extra rinse cycle. I also started washing very small loads with hardly any soap (and yes, I use the HE detergent). That works for me, but its not practical for a household of more than 2.This machine is also not for anyone with kids or who expects to remove routine soils. It doesnt clean well. White socks start looking dingy after a few washes, and even the hot cycle with bleach doesnt get whites white. Now, the washer has started shutting off with the clothes still soaking wet. I can press the Drain & Spin cycle to get it finish the job, but that adds another 13 minutes to the 63 minutes it already takes for a regular cycle with the extra rinse. I so wish I had not replaced my 15 year old Kenmore.

I purchased a Whirlpool front loading washer from PC Richards in January of
I purchased a Whirlpool front loading washer from PC Richards in January of 2010. The warranty was only for one year (the washer was new, not used). The model # is WFW9050XW. Anyway, the washer had to be repaired by PC Richards twice in the first year I had it. Once because the belt that makes the washer spin broke, then because the pump got clogged. Unfortunately, when you wash your clothes, your socks and underwear can get sucked into the pump. After that warranty expired, I purchased a warranty from my utilities company (PSE&G). I have had to contact them four times for repairs to this machine. The most recent problem is my clothes are still wet after the washer stops. I actually have to wring them out by hand to get the excess water out. When I contacted my utilities company about servicing the washer, I was informed that if the repair is more than the washer is worth they dont have to fix it. I canceled the repair and now got to the laundrymat. I figured if I wait until the end of the year, maybe the repairs wont seem excessive. I contacted Whirlpool about the problems and was informed that I should have been using a garment bag to wash my socks and underwear in. More or less the person I spoke with made it seem as though it was my fault the machine sucked up my underwear and socks. I, on the other hand, disagreed with her. I told her the washer should have been build so that it would not suck up these items. I was so totally pissed off I ended the conversation. I also informed her that I would not be purchasing any other appliances manufactured by Whirlpool or Maytag as they are affiliated. They obviously have no integrity when it comes to their product. However, I am totally baffled. Why do the Maytag machines work better and last longer than the Whirlpool machines? The washer I replaced was a Maytag. I had that machine for 17 years!!!!

I have a Whirlpool 33 inch wide Side by Side refrigerator. WRS311SDHM. This is the worst refrigerator I have ever had. Temperatures are inconsistent. It is less than a year old. Initially, I stored the big container of spring mix lettuce on the bottom shelf of the refrig as it wouldnt fit in the crisper draw. The temp setting in the refrigerator was set to ideal. Oddly though, in the freezer, ice cubes were melting and refreezing creating a massive frozen block. So, I raised the temperature in the refrigerator, but kept the freezer at coldest. However, I noticed that when I set the refrigerator to a warmer setting, ice cream became cold soup despite the coldest setting.I called Whirlpool and a service technician from Georges Appliance in New Providence, NJ came to my home (of course I had to take half a day off from work). He stuck a thermometer in the freezer and said, its working fine. While at my home he called Whirlpool who said that if lettuce isnt kept in the crisper drawer it will freeze (silly woman, dont you know that?) and ice cream will get soft in the freezer if the temp in the refridge is warmer than ideal. So, it seems I can have lettuce or ice cream, but not both. Okay, so I put the temp back to ideal, bought smaller packs of lettuce that would fit in the crisper draw and called it a day. Nope....lettuce and anything else in the crisper draw freezes too. Wilted, soggy lettuce is so nice in a salad and frozen baby carrots can break your teeth.I have been on the phone with Whirlpool executive dept several times. They offered to have another service company come out to look at the refrigerator. This repair company would not give me a 4 hr time frame until the day before the actual service call. This might be okay if you work from home or are retired, but this is not my case. I opted to not have them come. This is my last Whirlpool product. Since KitchenAid and Jenn Air are owned by Maytag/whirlpool, my other options are LG, Samsung, GE or Sub Zero.

I am very disappointed in my purchase of Whirlpool High-Efficiency washer and dryer. It does not clean my clothes! I have white towels in my bathrooms, I have them for years. They have always come out perfectly white with the regular washer I had for years. Not any more! They now come out with yellow spots all over them. Dark clothes come out with a white residue on them that looks like there has been a napkin in the wash. I feel like Whirlpool should at least send out free replacement bearings and the $85.00 bearing press tool that you will need if youre handy enough to fix the problem yourself. PS to all of the poor victims of Whirlpool bearings, go to Amazon and you can buy the bearings and the tool for about $150.00. In 2008 I bought a Whirlpool range from Lowes. About a year ago I began to notice an electrical smell when I would use the oven. I called the repairman in October and he had to replace wires that had melted. The first time using the oven blew a fuse. Repairman came back replaced everything for free and it has worked fine since October. 2 days ago the fuse blew again. When I flipped the breaker in order to use the cooktop there was an arc flash which blew a hole through the back of the panel on the stove where the cord is hooked to the stove and a hole burned in my wall. After reading Whirlpools fan mail I see that there are severe issues with the quality of Whirlpool products. It is a sad day when the names we have come to trust are more concerned with the bottom dollar than with customer satisfaction with their product.

I had a perfectly good Kenmore range, but I didnt like the color. I purchased a Whirlpool 30-inch gas range at Lowes. I had problems immediately! The repairmen were at my house 6 times within the first year. My warranty expired and they wanted me to pay for an extended warranty. I refused to pay any more for this piece of junk! I fought with Whirlpool and demanded they either replace the range or reimburse me the full cost. They finally agreed, after many heated conversations, to replace or reimburse me as long as I promised not to purchase a Whirlpool product again. What kind of company would say that? A company that knows their product is defective and has poor customer service. I opted to take the new range that they promised wouldnt have the same problems. It is having the same issues as the original one. It shuts off in the middle of cooking and it is infuriating to say the least. I can promise Whirlpool I will never purchase a product from them ever again!

I purchased a Whirlpool electric range 18 months ago. Recently, the oven started overheating. The display reads Fault detected. Press start to clear. Pressing start did nothing and the oven door was locked as though it was in the self-clean cycle. We had to trip the circuit breaker to turn the oven off and allow the door to open. The food inside was ruined. After three episodes in one week, I scheduled a service call through the Whirlpool website. When the repairman came, he determined the electronic circuit board was faulty. His suggestion was that I buy a new stove since the repair would cost $425 (the part itself was $280). Not wanting to replace a stove that wasnt 2 years old, I went ahead with the repair. I called Whirlpool to lodge a complaint and although the customer service rep was polite, he basically told me that all electronic appliances fail sooner or later and the company will not stand behind this appliance because its out of its 12-month warranty and I didnt buy the extended warranty. He also told me the company doesnt have any record of this being a common problem or excessive complaints about these ranges. But I see many people on this site with the same problem. I wish I had read this site before I bought this stove. Since I cant afford to replace my appliances every year and a half, this will certainly be my last Whirlpool.

I purchased my range, model #WEG730H0DW0 in April 2016. I am extremely dissatisfied with the product and the Whirlpool service. I guess its comforting to know that Im not alone. Ive had two problems so far. The first is with the broiler that clicks on and off. It took several visits and a new electrical board for the service person and me to figure out that the door has to be closed to broil. Not sure about all of you but I am used to keeping the door cracked open to be able to keep an eye on the food being broiled. Apparently there is a thermostat at the front of the oven designed to keep the electrical controls from getting overheated or from melting so when the door is cracked open the heat from the broiler hits that thermostat and the broiler is shut off.The people at Whirlpool are awful and rude. I made so many calls and described the problem in so many ways and not one person knew about this newly placed thermostat or thought to ask about keeping the door closed. It took me and my service tech over an hour of troubleshooting on his SECOND visit to figure it out. He looked up the specs and we figured it out. I wonder how many new electrical boards have been replaced when the solution is as simple as keeping the door closed. A stupid design. Also having the same problems with the knobs. They turn so easily that twice I have smelled gas and realized one of the knobs was turned ever so slightly (before the clicking sound to ignite the stove). Then the third time could have been deadly. I had friends come pick me up and we stood in the kitchen for a bit before we left for the entire day. When we returned the whole house smelled of gas. Someone inadvertently must have brushed up against the stove and the knob turned. My dog, thankfully is still alive and so are we. THIS IS NOT ONLY A STUPID DESIGN BUT A POTENTIALLY DEADLY ONE!! I am forwarding this message directly to Whirlpool in the hopes of getting my money back. I am replacing the range immediately and will never purchase a Whirlpool product again!

I bought a Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer in September 2013 and washer is already broken. It leaks out the front of the front loading door (yes, I clean it as advised, including leaving door open to air dry etc). I am a retired senior citizen and my wife and I spend 6 months of the year in Florida so the washer has barely been used since we are barely home and its not like we are trying to wash load after load of heavily soiled items daily. I would not recommend this product at all!! The repair people said it would cost approximately $300 to fix and offered a plan to fix it for $350 with a 1 year warranty. Why should I bother to do either if I will have to do same after 1 year? This machine is barely used and broke?! The customer service people were not helpful and seemed only interested selling me the repair plan to fix what should not need fixing. So, to recap - I bought the machine in 9/13 then went to Florida from 10/13 to 4/14 (so it was used 1 month). Then, it was used from 4/14 until 10/14 (6 months). I returned from Florida this year in April 2015 and it started leaking in June 2015 (2 months). So, my machine has been used for a grand total of 9 months and it is already broken!!! Stay far away. Whirlpool should come and replace this machine for us for free if they care anything about customer service and senior citizens but clearly they do not. In Florida we have an old Sears Kenmore machine that has lasted for over 20 years!!

I purchased a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator in Jan 2014. The first thing I noticed was the installers bought the appliance in without a box. The next thing I noticed was the door would not close unless you gave it a big push. While looking around at the hinges, I found 2 hairline cracks at the base of the refrigerator and 2 dents. I called Service and they sent a technician out. The technician told me they are going to want to epoxy this and you will see it. They asked did it get delivered in the box, I said no. I asked why, she said it should have been delivered in the container so you would know that it is new and not a rejected one from a customer. I called Whirlpool to voice my issue with having this epoxied. Kecia was the CSR...she said that is the normal repair for a crack. I told her I had a Kenmore refrigerator for 23 years and it was still functional when I bought this. I replaced it to get the energy savings. I told her I wanted the refrigerator replaced. I told her that the cracks tells a story about the quality of the appliance. I asked her what happens if these cracks expand after the year warranty expires. She said you can buy the extended warranty. I said but the existing warranty will not cover the cracks...what will the the extended warranty do? I asked if there were any recalls...she said no. I asked have there been similar complaints about cracks and dings (not that I thought she would answer yes). She said no unless someone had stepped on the base of it. I told her I lived alone and I definitely did not step on the base of the refrigerator. She got aggravated (almost to the point of being rude) and said Mam, no one said you stood on the base. I asked her repeatedly if there was someone else I could speak with. Her repeated answer was I am authorized to speak with you. She wouldnt let me to speak with anyone else. I am done with Whirlpool and stuck with this substandard refrigerator. Not happy at all in Va.

We recently bought a home and our dishwasher came with the home. We saw our basement leaking and got 2 plumbers come over and check the pipes out, paying almost $600, only to realize that the leak was actually from the broken plastic in our dishwasher, and not any pipe. When we called the Customer Service to get it replaced as it comes with a 20 year warranty on the plastic body, they said they would replace the part, but I would have to pay $81 for the first 15 min & $19 every additional 15 min. for labor, which means I would end up paying at least close to $400 or more, depending on how long the technician takes to replace the fiber body. Neither their policy nor warranty make any sense to me. Its frustrating to see that in spite of being covered, I would be the one paying money out of my pocket.

We purchased Whirlpool Cabrio 8.8 cubic ft Electric Dryer with Steam Cycles (Chrome Shadow) Energy Star Model WED8500DC and Whirlpool Cabrio 5.3 cubic ft High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer with Steam Cycle Model WTW8500DC and have had no issues at all, only personal issues, such as me being 54 tall and cant reach the bottom of the washer tub to take out all my clothes, so my husband helps, he is 5 9 tall and can reach in it fine, so we do laundry together now! We have washed very small loads to large loads such as, bedding sets without any issues at all. We love the gorgeous look as well. We have only owned these since November 2015... so about 4 months now, but we are completely satisfied! We have always owned Whirlpool, our old set we bought in 1998 and they finally gave out in 2015! Whirlpool for life for us!

This has progressively become worse, it now becomes un-level during the rinse cycle. We spoke with the appliance store where we purchased it, ;hey said the repairs could cost $400 or more. Thats nearly half of what it cost new. Like other complaints Ive read, cheaper washers have lasted years longer than the Whirlpool. Our last washer, a Kenmore, lasted 15 years.

I have a Cabrio washing machine that is just barely two years old. I have already spent over $500 on repairs/service calls. The first repair was the drum which cost $300 + to repair. Typically, my experience with washing machines is I buy a new one after years of service simply because I want a more updated model. I just bought a different brand to replace the Cabrio as it has another broken hinge (one rusted out. How bizarre is that?) And it wont work on some of the choices for cycles. The first time I called whirlpool, they were totally unresponsive and told me there was not any problems with the machine even though the part I needed was on backorder for three weeks. I have never been so frustrated with a product I thought was a reliable brand, not!

I bought the stackable Whirlpool Duet. Piece of garbage (model # WFW9150WW). From day one the washer never worked. Error lights/bells kept going on before the second spin cycle. First repair guy couldnt figure it out. And the manual says just unplug and plug the power cable back in. Sure--every time I use it? I called Whirlpool service and they said a new control board was needed without even seeing the machine, which tells me this is a manufacturing flaw. I waited 2 months for the board. When it came, the repair guy put it in and then the machine would not stop filling. So another switch and hose are being ordered. Whirlpool customer service is completely useless. And no one will even discuss replacement. Now Im stuck. $700 out on the first machine and $200 on the extended warranty, which will be useless because Im going to dump the machine. And additional $800 on another new machine which probably wont work either. Oh, yeah, and you have to use special soap, which Ive tried, and got down to using only 1/2 a teaspoon because the suds never cleared. Please tell all your customers never to buy Whirlpool!

I bought the Cabrio Platinum Set approximately 3 yrs ago. These is the worst products I have bought ever. The dryer didnt dry properly since day 1 w/the energy saver setting. I have always had to run a time dry in order to get properly dried clothing. Sometimes things still come out damp. The washer well the washer as I said the WORST product EVER. Approximately 3 yrs old and it leaks all over my laundry room unless surrounded by towels to suck up the water. During the wash it has the worst smell ever. And while spinning it jumps around and is so loud, you can hear it all through my 3 story home. We have complained we have written, emailed, called and have been offered nothing. I can honestly say I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again ever. The least they could do is stand by their product. For the price of this set it should have lasted much much longer. I had a Kenmore washer and dryer set that we bought it was not even top of the line I would say probably a cheaper model of theirs that lasted 10+ yrs we bought it brand new and my friend bought it when I changed to a front loader which by the way was one of the cheaper ones but was still better than this piece of **. It started breaking about 1 yr after we bought it. We have already fixed a few things but will not spend another dime on it. Now its not even cleaning. I now have to buy yet another washer. From what I have read either Whirlpool needs to up their game or just go out of business.

Mind you, Whirlpool products that we have purchased in the past have been satisfactory, but gas hot water heaters, no! About four years ago we purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater that went out in a little over a year. After spending many calls and time, we found out that the HWH was on soft recall. Whirlpool credited our account, but this was to purchase another Whirlpool, which we did. We paid for installation. About 2 years later, it has gone out. Same problem. Lowes says not their problem. Whirlpool says it will pay for the part only. Plumber will cost 150-200 dollars. All the plumbers I have talked to will not repair them, then they are held responsible when it goes out! As a disabled Vet I cannot afford to throw 400-600 dollars away. And, Whirlpool tells me that if they give me an RA number to replace the HWH, it will have to be a Whirlpool from Lowes. Great! Whirlpool quarterly report looks very good. Mine doesnt look as good. What can be done about a poor working product? Or is this too big to fail? Let me know.

They assured me I would be pleased with the results. I have never disliked an oven as much as I do this one. The tech came to the house and checked the temperature of the oven as I also complained it was baking uneven (the back was overcooked while the front was underbaked) but the temperature was right on so nothing can be done. I ordered a washer dryer combination through Whirlpool. I was given a delivery date 2 weeks out. Whirlpool employees must be doing their laundry very sparingly if they think that this would not put a strain on a household. But I was willing to wait. I asked the date and they wouldnt give it to me. A week later they called with the date and I asked the time. Again they wouldnt give it to me. However they said they would give me the time the night before. They then called with the time, which was during work hours. I told them I would be unable to do this during work hours and they gave me the only other optional date, also during work hours. I finally agreed and took a 1/2 personal day. When I arrived home. I received a phone call from Whirlpool that they will not be delivering my washer/dryer unit at all and to pick a different date. I canceled altogether.UPDATED ON 02/24/2016: I have worked hard to not get upset at companies. However I feel that this is an especially poor company and I cant remain silent anymore. I bought a Duet Washer and dryer over the phone with Whirlpool. It took 3.5 weeks for it to get delivered because Whirlpool kept cancelling. Each time, I took a 1/2 personal day so that I could meet the delivery people within their 4-hour window frame. On the 3rd attempt, they were finally delivered and set up by the delivery men.During the 2nd time I ever used the product, it stopped working, making a horrible grinding noise. I had a friend in the repair business come the next day and he was unable to repair it. I called Whirlpool again and they said theyd have a repairman out the next day. They outsourced the job to a local company and Whirlpool sent me a confirmation email with a time and date. Again I took a 1/2 personal day. After hearing from no one, I called the repair company. They said they had no record of me in the system. I cried.I called Whirlpool and was put on hold for 3 hours. I hung up and called again. They said my department closed 8 minutes ago and they couldnt take my call. I asked how that could happen considering you began the call 3 hours before that time and would have stayed on hold until I died had I not decided to hang up and try again. Every time previous to this I had been on hold for a minimum of 1 hour.I have been trying to return the product. They tell me that Im unable to because my product is functional. I told them it was in fact not functional, which was about the 3rd time I said this, and they said Ill have to call back 1st thing in the morning. I told them I cant risk any more work time to deal with this poor company. So they put me on hold again and thats where I remain. I am currently going on 27 minutes.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7340XW sounds like a small jet during spin cycle
Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7340XW sounds like a small jet during spin cycle. The Whirlpool Cabrio Washers have a very well known and well documented problem with the tub bearings failing. Many many disgruntled owners have posted their complaints online, and there are many videos showing the issue on youtube. This issue is so prevalent that the manufacturer has created a tub bearing failure repair kit for $350. The repair is so expensive and labor intensive that many of the certified Whirlpool repair shops no longer work on the Cabrio washer stating that a better washer can be purchased for the cost of this repair. That said, the manufacturers customer service group denies that the Cabrio tub bearing failures is a common problem and are quick to state that Whirlpool holds no liability for this problem. Ramping the complaint up to a customer service supervisor is met with the same canned response. Regardless of the thousands of complaints Whirlpool is claiming that it is normal wear and tear for the tub bearings to fail. The manufacturer should recall the units for this manufacturing defect in the Cabrio design.

I will keep this brief because many of our issues on our 18-month-old washer are in other reviews. The anger I feel towards Whirlpool Customer Service and the logic they use in providing repairs on a “goodwill” basis are unbelievable. After a Whirlpool certified appliance repair person diagnosed our fairly new washer as requiring the entire guts to be replaced... transmission, bucket, etc., we were told the repair bill would be over $1,300! Are you kidding me... the washer only cost in the mid $500 range, and now Whirlpool is going to do us a big favor and cover that outrageous bill! I told the customer service supervisor to please give us a new washer and take away our broken washer and use it for parts (if there any good parts left in this miserable machine). His reply “thats not going to happen”. He used this phrase to us at least 20 times during our service call until I finally told him I thought his attitude was aggressive and demeaning. I refuse to be bullied by a major manufacturer for a substandard product.I can only warn you when considering Whirlpool (and every major appliance in our two homes are Whirlpool) that you should use due diligence in your selection. We paid extra to upgrade all our Whirlpool appliances in our homes and I will never make that mistake again. And don’t get me started on the white film that covers my dark clothes. They say I use too much detergent... not true. I am not stupid and understand the HE requirement to cut way back on soap.

We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine on 3-18-16. In February of 2017 the washer died. I was bleaching my whites at the time so most of the clothes, whites fell apart because they sat in bleach and water for 2 days. I had to figure out how to get them out without getting bleach and water all over my clothes. I called whirlpool and they got someone to come fix it. The tech came and said we needed a new control panel. We waited 3 weeks for the panel. He came on 3-24-17. He put the part in. Took less than 10 min and said, All set. I went downstairs and put a few things in. I was a bit leery and the machine started. I went back upstairs and I hear beeping. I go back down and the machine is flashing again. I called the repair people they said, Unplug it for 10 min. It may reset itself. If it doesnt, call back. It didnt. I called back and wanted me to wait till the following week. I told her I had clothes in there.Someone came the next morning and said it needed a harness and they would order it. Well its the 28th and I havent heard anything. I have called whirlpool several times with no satisfaction. We had the machine less than a year and its been dead for 2 months. I am disabled. I have multiple sclerosis so every day is a new issue. I hate to put that in here but I want you to know what Im dealing with along with a dead washer. Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

The dishwasher racks in Whirlpool/Amana/Kitchen Aid/Maytag dishwashers do not last as long as the dishwasher does. The vinyl coating on the cheap metal tines wears off causing the metal underneath to corrode and rust. This rust will deposit on your flatware, stainless or otherwise. When the vinyl coating wears away at the base of the tines, the tines will break off, creating more opportunity for rust to deposit onto flatware. You can purchase new tips for the end of the tines, and more vinyl to paint onto the tines, but you cannot replace the tines themselves or paint the vinyl onto any rusty surfaces.Another option would be to buy a new rack. A new bottom rack costs almost half of what a new dishwasher costs and if you need both top and bottom racks, you will pay almost $400 for the pair. Whirlpool was not amenable to negotiating a better price on the racks, but they would sell me a new model at a price that was close to what it would cost to replace both racks! Now does that make sense? Does it make sense for appliance companies to cause consumers to have to throw out an entire appliance rather than fix it? No, and it is creating more waste and filling more landfills. My dishwasher has run great for 7 years and I refuse to buy into the rack racket! No more Whirlpool for me!

I bought a Maytag front load washer on October 24, 2010. I have not been able to use it because it came damaged by the manufacturers. I contacted them by phone several times and it took them three months to send someone (A and E sears repair). Two months passed and I did not get the parts necessary or a replacement washer. I kept calling and finally they sent someone again in May 2011. They said they where going to order the parts because the new company was not going to replace the machine, even though it was already damaged. They said I would get the parts between three-five business days. I only got one part. A and E sent a repair guy again on the 22nd of June. This one said they needed the entire machine in parts and that he would order the parts. I called A and E one week later and they said they were waiting for the on manufacturer to send the parts (Whirlpool). The 26th and the 27th of July, I got the parts. On the 22nd of July, another repairman came and said we needed more parts. Today, August 16, 2011, I called Whirlpool and A and E and now they said the parts wont be here till after October 26, which by then I would have to pay for the parts and labor if I wanted it fixed because by then the one-year warranty would have expired. So here I am with a $700 washer, which was never used and they refused to fix/replace. They sold me a lemon!

I am somewhat satisfied with my induction range. We ordered it just before Thanksgiving from Lowe’s a year and a half ago. We were told that we would have it before Christmas, which was fine with me. I don’t cook for Thanksgiving. Just a lot of Christmas baking. It turned out that Whirlpool had not started making our range until January and it wasn’t delivered until mid-January. It had been really good until about a month ago, when it blew the circuit breaker. My husband was cooking dinner while I was at work and it just blew the circuit breaker. No power surge in the rest of the house. No other circuit breakers affected. When the power was turned back on, two burners were out. As it turns out, the main circuit board is dead. So now the one large burner, a small burner and the ovens don’t work. There are two circuit boards for each oven. When it is working, it is a great stove. However when it doesn’t work, it is costly and takes a while to get repaired.

We purchased an electric range model WFE371LVQ O in June 2010. This range is only used during the winter months in our vacation home. In January 2016 the oven turned on by itself. The control panel was replace. It happened again on 1/25/19. IT IS A FIRE HAZARD!! Thankfully we were home both times. The only way we got it to turn off was to flip the circuit breaker. If this would have happened when we werent home and a fire started and it killed our dogs I have no idea what I would do. Im not even attempting to have the control panel replaced again. Well be buying another brand. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. The company must have known about the issue because when we called the first time it happened, which was several years PAST the warranty period, they didnt hesitate to do the repair free of charge.

Whirlpool Gas Range model GW397LXUB1 is a lemon. We bought our house new in 2008, and it came with Whirlpool Gold package appliances. Within a year, the console buttons quit working for the oven, and we had our warranty fix the console. Within another year, it happened again, and then again last November and now again this week. This range is obviously defective, yet the only solution was to buy for $350, a one-year warranty from Whirlpool. I asked if they had any sort of redress or rebate if we bought another unit, which they reported no. So I looked online for other people who have had similar issues, and counted at least 75. So this company knows they sold defective units, but wont stand behind them without substantial cost. All this simply assures me is that Whirlpool is NOT a stand-up company, and I can assure you that Ill never purchase any product from them again.

We have a Whirlpool range that was produced for Kenmore (Sears brand). It’s a glass top with electronic controls. Over the 13 years we have had this range we’ve had to replace the controls 3 times at a cost of over $300 each time. Each time we were under severe lightning storms and got hit with a surge. It would burn out the Control board. We finally got a whole house surge suppressor since a large device is required for 240 volt appliances. Also the glass top has gotten scored over the years. We would not recommend this oven and will likely replace it with an industrial gas stove with manual controls when this one dies or gets too expensive to repair.

Ive owned whirlpool appliances for forty years or more, and have been consistently pleased with them. My first washer and dryer lasted eighteen years while raising a family. Brand X lasted eight years with at least four repairs before we dumped the set. We moved and sold one set with the house, but my newest washer and dryer set is eleven years, and works fine. Ive had at least four ranges. We sold two of them with the houses, but theyve all been fine, just bought a snazzy new Whirlpool range as an upgrade. Im on my fourth Whirlpool refrigerator, but again we sold one with the house and we upgraded one perfectly good Whirlpool refrigerator to a bigger side by side with icemaker. Third whirlpool dishwasher. Weve moved a lot, leaving behind appliances and buying new ones. The size is big enough to hold what I buy every week. The appearance is decent. Only two people use it every day. I havent had any problems with the refrigerator in the four years I have had it. I get frustrated sometimes when opening up the bottom storage container. If I pull it out too far, it falls to the floor. This happens especially when the container is full of fruits and vegetables. I guess bottom storage container was designed that way for easy removal to be cleaned. I really like the adjustable shelves. I can adjust them perfectly to store food containers and jugs of milk and other drinks. I like the door shelves in the freezer compartment. It is great for small packages of vegetables.

First of all, I did not want to give a rating of one. Your system forced me
First of all, I did not want to give a rating of one. Your system forced me to. They do not even rate one star.In summary of the below, I did not fail to communicate from the moment we received our appliance and Whirlpool in short intentionally wasted time to let the warranty run out to avoid replacing a lemon of a dryer. Please read details below. We bought our new dryer (model WED9400SZ) on 10/24/10 with a one year service & parts warranty from Appliance Smart in Apple Valley, MN. In March 2010, we called in to Whirlpool customer service to relay our issues & to arrange for service & repair after a few months of noticing holes in our clothing (at first thinking it was the new Whirlpool washer making the holes).Although we purchased the unit in late October, we didnt use it for the first time until late November (1 month later) as we just bought our home & took four weeks to paint the entire home before moving in. Then on December 29, 2010, we left for a three week vacation to Mexico & again hadnt used the dryer during that time. Returning home, we started to use the new washer & dryer (in late January 2011) but had thought it was perhaps the washer making the holes & it took us until to March for Whirlpools preferred service repair providers to determine that the holes were coming from the dryer. I do not have a reference number to refer to for the complaints to Whirlpool as I was not provided one. They only always asked for our delivery address which is: xxxxx ****, Lakeville, MN.The issue of the dryer making noticeable holes in our clothing and in one instance chopped a sock completely in half (both pieces found within the dryer drum not stuck behind the drum or sucked into another area of the dryer) has been consistently ongoing and to date has not been fixed. On several occasions, I expressed my concern to Whirlpool customer service as well as to managers (because the case had been elevated to where they had managers and review boards looking at the problem more closely) as we were getting closer and closer to the warranty expiration and the dryer had not been fixed. Routinely, I was told that regardless of the warranty expiring, if its the same issue that persists and had not been resolved while within the warranty date, they would continue to honor the warranty by continuing to try to fix the problem or replace the unit at no additional cost to me if necessary.Whirlpool had escalated this repair issue (multiple times) to their review board and determined that the dryer was indeed repairable and continued to send out Twin City Appliance to repair it. Finally, just 23 days out of warranty, Whirlpool deemed the dryer should be replaced, but at the cost of a new machine $370 to us (which they somehow prorated to get that figure). We paid $399.98 plus tax for our supposedly new dryer so clearly this is an unexcitable resolution. In speaking to Rhonda this morning, she further prorated the new dryer replacement cost to $260 to include installation and another one year warranty and gave us until December 21, 2011 to take advantage of.This product never worked from day one (a lemon) and has caused roughly $400 in damage to our clothing (all photographed for proof). This has further resulted in me missing work to let in repairmen & and taking great amount of time to lay out out wet clothing around our house to air dry (again, all photographed. ) This has caused extreme stress for me in spending hours and hours on the phone with Whirlpool and repair people (cell phone records of dates & conversation length as proof). I have also developed great anxiety attacks in using our dryer, scared at the outcome of which of our clothing will be ruined. After having two different service repair companies (A&E Factory Service and Twin City Appliance, both in MN) at Whirlpools insistence come to our home on more than 10 occasions within the year warranty to determine the cause & try and repair the faulty machine, this proposed resolution by Whirlpool is absolutely unacceptable. It is important to me as a consumer the this issue is formally filed with a reputable institution (BBB). I feel we have no choice at this point but to contact our lawyer and take this issue up in the courts. Resolution proposed:I am seeking a replacement of our dryer at the equivalent or greater value than the model we purchased and a letter of apology from the CEO or equivalent position in their corporation as I want to know that this poor level of customer service provided by their company was indeed brought to their attention. I am also asking for $400 to replace our damaged clothing. When this goes to court if not resolved via the BBB, I will ask for pain and suffering damages as well. This has been an unbearable chapter for our family this year, one that has weighed heavy on us and caused great stress, anxiety and loss of money and time. I am in shock that a worldwide corporation with the longevity and commercial history and quality service that Whirlpool was known for cannot admit that this lemon we purchased is a (most likely) rare instance and step up to the plate and demonstrate integrity and show value for their customers by doing the right thing. Time after time their customer service reps promised I had nothing to worry about and that if the machine could not be fixed even if it fell out of warranty, they would take care of the replacement of fixing it at no additional cost to me.

On 11-29-2014 we were washing our laundry and our whirlpool washing machine started making a really loud noise so I went to investigate the problem. On May 15, 2017, I purchased a new Whirlpool Water Heater, unknowingly made by American Water Heater Co., from Lowes (receipt attached). Model Number ES40R10-55 with a 10 year warranty. The water heater was installed using the directions in the owners manual. Upon turning on the current to the water heater after it was filled with water and all air removed from the plumbing, the module gave a code stating the top element was not working. Called the Technician Assistance Hotline and they gave me a RA number to get a new top element from Lowes. Got that on May 16 and had to call the plumber that is contracted by American Water Heater Co. to come to the house and inspect the heater to make sure it was installed correctly. The water heater worked once the new element was installed. On Oct. 3, 2017, had more issues with the module stating the top element was not working. Called the Tech. Assistance Hotline and they gave me another RA number to get another top element. On Oct. 4, got the top element and installed it. The water heater started working again. On Oct. 6, the module stated the bottom element was not working. Called the Tech. Assistant Hotline and had the plumber come out. He determined that he could not find out why it was doing this and also said that both elements were good along with the element that I removed on Oct. 4, which I still had. Since then, the module has been giving codes stating that both elements are bad and I have not had any hot water since Oct. 7. American Water Heater Co., Whirlpool, and Lowes all refuse to give me a refund for this piece of junk! All blame the other for the problems and none will take any responsibility for the water heater not working. I will never buy another appliance with the Whirlpool name and definitely will not buy anything made by American Water Heater Co. I also will never buy another appliance from Lowes as they are not willing to help me in this matter. If you do not want to experience the headache and frustration of owning a new appliance that does not work, I would suggest that you do the same!!!
