I purchased a 50 Gal. Whirlpool gas water heater on Saturday, 12/31 to replace a 20-yr old unit that had failed. The unit was installed that day and it started right up but I noticed the burner had gone out about an hour later and the status light indicated FV Sensor Lockout. I tried calling Whirlpool but their customer service was closed. I tried troubleshooting myself using manuals and Internet forums without success. Everything I could find indicated that an FV Sensor failure could not be repaired and would require replacement parts. I called Lowes and was told they could not help me and I would need to talk to Whirlpool.I called Whirlpool again Sunday, 1/1, but they were closed again for the Holiday. I called two plumbers and both told me that the Whirlpool units were problematic and that if they did come out, there would be little they could do except charge me a lot of money and recommend parts to order as Whirlpool does not let them stock parts. Both plumbers also suggested that I consider buying another brand. So I went to Home Depot and purchased another brand with similar specs. I installed it that day and it fired up right away and has been running fine ever since.I talked to Whirlpool on Monday, 1/2, and they told me they would not issue an RMA for a unit that they considered usable. They also told me there was an FV Sensor reset procedure that they would have walked me through had I been able to talk to them that would have bypassed the sensor until a replacement could be installed. I told them that if they would publish this procedure in their manuals or on the Internet, I would have certainly done that. Im now fighting with both Whirlpool and Lowes to get a resolution to this problem. Im not sure about other Whirlpool products but their Water heaters seem to be very problematic.

I have purchased in the past all Whirlpool appliances all at the same time. Washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, microwave and I have had issues with every product after the first year, from plastic parts failing. That should have been made out of metal, to motherboard replacement. I work Hard for my Money, and when I need to buy a new appliance, I want truth in advertisement of what I am spending MY MONEY on. I would like a product that is built to last!!! If whirlpool cannot offer this we need to COMPLAIN all over the Internet until whirlpool changes their design and uses better parts for their products. I as a consumer deserve this.

I contacted Whirlpool in regard to one of their water heaters we purchased
I contacted Whirlpool in regard to one of their water heaters we purchased from Lowes. It came with a 5-year warranty. At the end of 3 years, the lower element went out. Our plumber took the part back to Lowes, where he stated they normally just do a part replacement with them. On ours, he was told the owner would have to contact the manufacturer. I contacted them and supplied them with the plumbers bill and copies of the front and back of our canceled check, along with all my contact info. Their website states theyll get back with you within two days. I contacted them on March 13, 2013. Today is April 7, 2013 and they havent emailed, called or snail mailed me. After reading these consumer reports, the air has been let out of my balloon. No more Whirlpool products for me! Integrity in our country used to be extremely high. Today it is extremely low as demonstrated by the complaints on this website and now mine. Hey Whirlpool, you suck!

We purchased our a model WTW7800XWO 7 years ago. Our lid kept falling down when loading and unloading. Very annoying. 3 years ago it failed to lock down which means the washer will not start. We learned to press down on the lid sides to get it to lock. Then it became loose where it connects to washer and we duct taped it to make it work. We put up for that for a year before having a repairman attach a new lid. 1 year later it did the same thing... And we put up with it hoping it wouldnt totally fail. Today it failed. Since the 1st repair cost 250.00 we decided that we will get a new washer rather than spend another 250.00. We will go with American made Speed Queen. We have had Whirlpool appliances since we were married 50 years ago.

This washing machine started giving us trouble just a few months after purchasing. Have had repairman to our home 5 times in 3 years. Last time repairman came he said future repairs would be very expensive & we should purchase another machine. Whirlpool will not have my confidence again unless they recall this machine & fix all problems.

Whirlpool Du1100xtpb3 dishwasher: The spring on the latch keeps coming off
Whirlpool Du1100xtpb3 dishwasher: The spring on the latch keeps coming off (3 times in two months). The service repair man charged me for replacing the latch when all that was wrong with it was the spring. That being said, now we are fixing it ourselves. For your information, there is a paper in the bottom of the dishwasher that tells you what is wrong by how the lights are flashing. So each time we replace the spring, we have to reprogram it by pushing a sequence of buttons. Still, I cant figure why the spring wont stay on. Help me if you can.

My 15 year old front loader quit working and was going to cost more to repair than we thought was worth it. So, we went shopping at Home Depot and based on discussions with salespeople ended up with the Whirlpool cabrio toploader. What a mistake. I am so disgusted with this washer I dont even know where to start. If there was any way we could return it we would do so. The clothes come out wrinkled, twisted, absolutely covered in pet hair and detergent and fabric softener residue. Yes, Im using HE detergent, in the correct amounts. Yes, Ive read the manual front to back. Yes, Ive tried all the troubleshooting suggestions. No, they dont make a damn bit of difference.I would give anything to have my old front loader back. It was a great little machine that did a wonderful job of cleaning our laundry. Pet hair was washed off, I could lay things out to dry and they werent all wrinkly and did not require ironing. Just about everything that comes out of this cabrio machine that I lay to dry needs to be ironed before it can be worn. It is just a horrible, horrible machine and Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for foisting this off on unsuspecting consumers.

Purchased this refrigerator, Model # WRS965CIAH on October 3, 2014. Paid extra for counter depth. Initially the refrigerator worked fine. After about 9 months we noticed the food in the back of the refrigerator especially on the top shelf started freezing. This started getting worse over the next 2 months. When I called Whirlpool 10/19/2015, 800-253-1301, I was told by their representative that this was normal, that air from the freezer blows into the refrigerator through vents and to just re-arrange my food so that it is not pushed to the back of the refrigerator. I asked him if this was normal why wasnt this happening in the first few months but only developed later? He had no answer. I asked him if it made sense if this was normal then everyone who buys this refrigerator has to make sure their food is not pushed to the back of the unit, then why dont they state that in the directions for use??? Ok everyone make sure every day you push all your food to the front of the unit so it doesnt freeze ridiculous. He just said thats the best thing to do. I asked him if I could talk to a technician, if maybe there was a way to fix it manually and he said there were no technicians there. I asked him if he knew about the lemon law and he said they dont have that there... ok. The refrigerator is just days after the 1 year purchase so he basically said just to call where I purchased it that Whirlpool could do nothing for me. Is this how Whirlpool trains their employees??? Good job Whirlpool, way to go. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty. Will see how the repair goes and report back. Did not call sooner due to health issues. Its not like the refrigerator is years old and started to break down - this is within a year. Whirlpool doesnt care about quality. Will never buy Whirlpool again and will spread the word as often as I can.

Bought this washer in 2013 for close to $800. About a year and half old it got real loud sounds like a freight train. Asked whirlpool repairman about it, and was told it is a main bearing going out. He said it would cost over $500 to fix it. Whirlpool warranty sucks - only one year. Called whirlpool, told them the problem and asked if this is a problem with this washer. Got told no they have no problems with it. Found out later not only do they have this problem with it they change design because of it. Repairman said his own daughter had same problem and he had many service calls on this model all with same problem. WHIRLPOOL WILL NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE PRODUCT WHICH IS A MANUFACTURE DEFAULT. It sets in our house unusable. I will never buy a whirlpool product again. Sad because that use to be all I would buy.

Bought a Whirlpool hot water heater from Lowes 1/08/12. In May of 2013, it would not work. I had to replace the Gas Control for around $100.00. It was 4 months off warranty! The same thing happens 3/2014. They sent me a new Gas Control Valve free and shipped it overnight. This is no fun to fix. I cannot believe that I need to flush the tank out with cider vinegar every 6 months. That is why I was told it keeps breaking.

I currently rent, and so when our literally 30-yr. old GE dishwasher broke down, our landlords went out and installed us a new Whirlpool Dishwasher. I was excited because FINALLY I would have clean dishes and a dishwasher that didnt leak a bucket of water all over the floor. Well, weve had it for about 6-8 months now and I have to say that I am not impressed. It is not as great as I thought itd be. First of all, my dishes still look cloudy (despite using various brands - even homemade - detergent). Second, one out of every three washes gives me still-dirty dishes (food still on them, even though I rinse before loading the dishes). Now, Im not talking about tough stuck-on, need a jack-hammer to remove food. Just normal food. Mostly it is oil, like if I had a plate that I had eaten French fries on and there was grease left behind that normal rinsing didnt remove. A new dishwasher SHOULD be able to clean that! Third, it guzzles Jet Dry liquid (or whatever rinse aid you use) like an alcoholic in a bar. I have used a BIG bottle in one month. One month. With the old 30 yr. old dishwasher, it took me around 2 YEARS to use a big bottle. And lastly, it takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R to wash a load. My old dishwasher took an hour tops - to rinse, wash, rinse, and dry - and it was 30 years old. This new Whirlpool takes 3 HOURS!!! I can literally hand-wash all of my dishes (and with a family of 4 thats a lot of dirty dishes in one day), sit them out to air dry, and take a nap and it take LESS TIME than using the dishwasher. The dishwasher has all the bells and whistles to make it look good, but trust me, if I could have had the 30-year old dishwasher rebuilt to newness, I would have begged my landlord to do that instead. Dont waste your money on Whirlpool appliances. I left another less than friendly review for my Whirlpool Cabrio washer (only 5 years old), if you care to see it. Learned my lesson, dont buy Whirlpool. So disappointed because they used to be (USED TO BE) a reputable dependable brand.

We hate the matching Cabrio washer dryer bought in 2011: Dryer lower blower
We hate the matching Cabrio washer dryer bought in 2011: Dryer lower blower went out after 18 months in service. The day it went out whirlpool sent me the extended warranty offer. Warranty had expired 6 months prior. I renewed for 12 months and promptly called for a repair. Cost was approximately $450.00, all covered under the newly paid for warranty. I dodged a bullet there. Washer has the splintering fiberglass around the top. Lower bearing is out and sounds like a freight train coming out of the laundry room. Not going to have it repaired. Looking for new units not manufactured by whirlpool. Shameful ROI. No more whirlpool products in our house.

Our new Whirlpool Side-by-Side Refrigerator is very versatile as it serves the needs of a busy, family kitchen. It is heavily used storing cold foodstuffs to feed our family of four, plus two active grandsons. Being able to re-configure the shelving space enables us to adjust the main compartment accommodating items of different sizes (think a thawing turkey or a 24-can case of soft drinks!) to ensure our most functional usage. The same can be said of its freezer space - it too features built-in slots to reposition shelving for varied size packages and boxes. Convenient in-door water and ice dispensers round out the beneficial features of this attractive appliance.

Purchased this Whirlpool Duet washer WFW920ww00 in 2011. 6 service calls while under 1 year warranty. The mother board was replaced..... after I smelled smoke and burning. Had trouble draining.... error codes F9E2 and F9E1 and SD (suds) and low flow were the usual. At times took 4-6 runs to get it through to point where I could open door. Often need to unplug for 20 minutes in order for it to progress. Clothes would not ring out... or be floating in water. Lately had to run on medium spin just to get it to work at all. The odor/smell was horrible and the rubber ring was black with mold after the 1st year. Completely stopped working this week, no power to panel. The repair shop said to not bother.... he has had customers replace 2 or 3 major parts in these and still keep getting the annoying error codes and difficulty making it through a complete wash. Moving on and buying something else.

I purchased 3 appliances (microwave, stove, and dishwasher) on 10/22/10 when they were on sale at Sears for my soon to be remodeled kitchen. I did not have them delivered until 11/15/10 until contractor was getting ready for them. They still were not installed immediately. On 11/17/11, in the evening, the microwave stopped working. I called Whirlpool on 11/18/11 for service. Whirlpool will not honor the 1-year warranty since technically I bought them in October 2010 but did not even have them installed in my home for use until the end of November or beginning of December 2010. Common sense tells me the company should honor the warranty. Are products being made today to last less than a year before they go bad? To pay for a service call and parts, I can buy a new microwave (but you can bet it wont be Whirlpool).

I purchased a WP side by side refrigerator and made sure I purchased an extended warranty. I paid the extended warranties faithfully each year since the initial purchase. In the last few weeks we had to call the phone number on the last WP extended warranty invoice and they sent a repairman. He said the refrigerator was un-repairable. The repairman gave my husband SR#** and a Cust. Service telephone #800-253-1301. I called and they gave me another SR#** and phone #866-931-7390 to call the following Friday. I called the number (Team Resolution Specialists) Friday 6/26/20 and was offered an amount that wouldnt even pay half of a refrigerator like that. They did not even offer to replace the refrigerator. The company where I work (for 20 years) sells Whirlpool appliances. We have purchased thousands and thousands of dollars of WP appliances. I work in Accounts Payable. I print a check for the appliances to pay for them promptly. I am so disappointed in Whirlpool. What has happened to Whirlpools quality of product and quality of service. Brand new Whirlpool dishwasher from PC Richards. Model #WDT710PAYB2. Dont buy one of these! In the store, I was turned off by the panel being on top of the door and not visible when the door is closed. I dont understand why anyone would not want to see the cycles and operation but my husband insisted that was a good thing so I agreed to purchase. Well, its horrible! I pressed the panel buttons the first time I tried to use it, and the panel switch is erratic and all over the place. For example, if I press Normal, the Heavy cycle button light goes on. When I hit start, all the button lights shut off. I finally get all the lights to stay on and hit start (after about 10 tries) and when I shut the door, the start button blinks and beeps! The dishwasher does not start. After many attempts, I got it to run, miraculously, for about 10 minutes. It emptied the detergent dispenser and left everything inside wet and slimy. Nice. I cant believe Whirlpool would sell such an inferior product. I have always been a loyal Whirlpool customer, but after this experience, I think its time to switch appliance brands. Now I have to be inconvenienced without a dishwasher after spending over $500 and wait for a repairman. Thanks, Whirlpool!

We bought 2 Whirlpool refrigerators for our new home 5 years ago. The first ice maker died 2 years ago at 3 years old. The second has now died this month. We called the repairman in who told us that Whirlpool knew there was a problem with their ice makers, but because they did not cause fires, they were not recalled. We paid $480 later for items that should last at least 10 years, not 3-5 years. We will never purchase another Whirlpool appliance and neither will any our family. A company with this level of ethical behavior that knows they have a faulty piece of equipment and just chooses to do nothing does not warrant my business.

I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio Top Loader High-Efficiency Machine on March 20, 2013. 14 months later, it failed. When I called customer service I was informed the 1 year warranty had expired (I knew this already) and that all they could offer me was a $319 extended warranty to fix machine and guarantee covered future repairs. Luckily, I had the machine repaired at no cost to me after complaining to the sales people I bought the machine from the year earlier. They contacted their Whirlpool representative who had the repair covered. Now, 3 years and 11 days after purchasing it, it failed again. This time the machine would no longer spin out the water. Whirlpool offered nothing more than to give the website and special code for a discount on a new machine. After some haggling, they agreed to pay for 50% of the parts only, no labor. I argued this machine must be a lemon, as they have told me theyve heard no prior issues with this machine and that it would be reasonable to replace this machine. They refused any further assistance. So I threw this piece of junk away and instead, for $185, bought a simple rebuilt 15 year old Maytag washer with agitator, direct drive. Just a couple of knobs. No computer, fancy bells and whistles. I can say with absolute certainty that I will never purchase a Whirlpool product ever again. I also believe these machines are no longer meant to last like old washers (and dryers) used to.

Strange bear like sound when it washes. We stopped it and on again, sound gone. Water on full water pump drain attitude ok. Big lid (grey) inside on. Ran some time water draining with tablets to make it clean and run better. Had someone to look for it, no sound. But when we now turned on, it sound like a mumbling high sound from inside machine or upper lid. We have some thermostat error a few times now. No hot water condition and no washing in high temperature. Håkon ** was the inspector of this strange thing happening. Could this be dangerous to let it run?

I purchased Whirlpool Slide-In 30 Gas SS Conventional Range. Terrible product quality. After about three years of use, the range shows an error message cooling fan is too low. I wasnt able to use the oven. Abt Services came in to do the repair. One month after the cooling fan was installed, the same message came up again. When Abt Services replaced the cooling fan again, the display was completely out. The cost of the repair parts is over $800. Are you kidding me! I paid $1500 for the range. Now I need to pay $800 to repair. Whirlpool didnt offer any discount for repairing the defective product but offered purchase similar product at a discount price. I will never ever pay a dime for Whirlpool product. It is a nightmare using the product. I learned my lesson. No Whirlpool product again in our house.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator for my condo in February of 2012. During the past six months it started to freeze everything in the food compartment, and then during this past month the freezer started to slowly die. Ice cream became soup. After calling repair and examination it appears the fridge has basically died and it would have cost me over $500 to fix a $570 refrigerator. That type of lifespan is unacceptable. Before energy efficiency demands from the government, refrigerators lasted much longer. In the 50s, 60s, the refrigerator my parents owed lasted nearly 30 years. Am I expecting too much? Apparently so. I went out and purchased a Frigidaire this time. Hopefully, Ill get a few more years out of that one (Not happy).

Washing bedding is a nightmare! They are sopping wet & I have to wring it out. Finally broke down today & the repairman quoted over $600 to fix (paid $800). Take this piece of junk away!!! The Clorox side is full of water, and the softener half of the time dont even drain all the way and not happy with that. The washer is beginning to rust on the inside by the dispensers, the lid area and the outside panels. I should have purchase GE. I would not recommend this brand to anyone.

WFW97HEDW, WGD95HEDW American made and equivalent to LG and Kenmore. Size fitted our space available. Price was a bit higher than the Korean models with similar or better features. We bought and returned three consecutive Whirlpool models from Sears. Though we never really got to put the dryers to the test, nor did they fail, the washers were of such a poor quality that they broke down within 1-2 weeks of installation. Eventually we switched to LG and have had no problems. When the Whirlpool fails it locks your clothes inside and to open and retrieve your clothes is just short of impossible. We really, really really wanted to buy the American made brand and we were willing to pay the premium to do so, but these washers were awful.

They had to order parts. Repairman came back - replaced parts. Now not 6 months later same thing happening. Whirlpool said we have to pay for labor to repair again. We went online after this happened the first time and saw where others had same problem - this washer should be recalled. The repairman said this part was corroding. This should not be happening on a new washer. We will never buy another Whirlpool product again!!!! I purchased an HIE washer one year ago this month. I have never been happy with the cleanliness of the clothes when they came out of the wash. The only way to get them moderately clean is to wash a few items at a time and even then the whites, especially socks, seem dingy. I noticed the new Whirlpool washers now have an extra setting to add more water to the machine, so the executives have realized there is a problem with the original model.I think Whirlpool should give all customers who previously purchased the models without this feature a trade-in option to get the newer model that fills with more water or for another model with the full spindle that has worked well for so many years. I have been very unhappy with the performance of this washer and would only hope the executives would do something to resolve this problem and satisfy previous customers.

It will only get about an inch of water in it causing buttons to be torn off... just beating up wet clothes. HH Gregg told us to try a few things. When we went back to HH Gregg with the same complaints they told us it was too late and call Whirlpool. Serviceman came out and said everything was fine with the machine, we just need to load more clothes! We are only 2 people, one of us wear a uniform and needs washed when we may not have a full load. Called Whirlpool to complain again and they said there wasnt anything they would do except send out another service person for a second opinion, which just means taking more time off of work. HH Gregg talked us in to this type of low level washer. We are still making payments on it!!!!

We had the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer [WWT5640xw0] for approximately six months and it began to behave strangely, very much like the other complaints I have read on this site. It works poorly, does not clean the clothes, there is a smell that is coming from the machine and it makes loud, inappropriate noises. It stops spinning and washing in the middle of a cycle. Before I become aware of the issue, I would find loads of clothes sitting in the water and the machine indicated the cycle was completed. What a piece of junk! We cannot afford to go out and get another washer at this time and based on what everyone else is saying, the cost of repairs is very costly. I too called the company and was greeted with indifference. I too will not purchase another Whirlpool product and have spread the news to my friends about this worthless product and manufacturer! My message to this company: Whirlpool, the right thing to do is recall the machine and provide us with a voucher so we might go and purchase another machine from any manufacturer we wish. But we all know that will not happen as the company is clearly saying to its customer base, Our sales and profits are more important to us than you and your satisfaction!

Though the product is under warranty, it’s been more than 6 months that nobody has rectified the complaint. Even now my complaint is still pending. If I call customer support, they just provide some number and ask me to call them. Service representatives take their own time and not at all Serious about complaints. Our home came with an Asko dishwasher, theoretically a premium device though the experience was not the best. Anyways, had to replace it after a few years and decided to buy a Whirlpool under the assumption that if an Asko kind of sucks, being so expensive, it was not worth the money to spend big bucks on an expensive dishwasher. I could not have been more wrong! Bought a middle of the pack Whirlpool, I think we spend around $500. Complete junk. I had to use our Sears home warranty like 6 times. They replaced two times the computer board, all the sensors another couple of times, motor, you name it! Worst part is that all of the non essentials part that also broke off (wheels, and plastic pieces of the door) were not covered by Sears warranty so I had to end up using glue and all kind of contraptions to keep them together. Finally, when we decided to put our house in the market we replaced this junk with a Bosch. So far so good. Whirlpool actually never even washed properly, now with the Bosch we finally know what it means to have a dishwasher that really washes for real!

My Whirlpool range, was purchased 14 years ago. It was fine until 2 months ago. I was preparing a meal for a dinner party and the oven went from low baking into Clean mode. (This cant be done by accident, it is many step process to go into clean mode) Locking the door! When I realized what was happening I immediately turned the breaker off but we still could not open the range door. Since the oven had my potato casserole and my Teflon coated cookie sheets inside it started to emit a toxic smell choking all of us inside the house. The unit was too hot to touch so my husband and brother-in-law finally donned gloves and got the range outside. I called Whirlpool the next morning and got the run around as to what type of range it was Kenmore/Whirlpool. Whirlpool finally sent someone out to look at the range and their determination was it caught on fire and melted! The company will not do anything about the unit or all the damage it cause because the range is over 10 years old. But they did not tell me this until I had spent weeks getting estimates and gathering information for them. I TOLD THEM DURING THE INITIAL CALL THE RANGE WAS 14 YEARS OLD. I TOLD THEM THE EXACT DATE IT WAS PURCHASED. Whirlpool sent me a letter from their Claims Resolution Department saying my DISHWASHER will not be covered and misspelling my last name. I have tried to call the person ** at least 25 times and she never answers the phone, only get her voicemail. I just wanted to tell them I was a little concerned about their accuracy with the typing of the name and product..... How complete could the investigation have been if they didnt even get the product correct. The smoke/smell ruined my microwave and ceiling fan. We had to paint the ceiling, redo wallpaper and professionally clean all the carpets and drapes on my first floor (we had just remodeled our kitchen last May so this was an expensive redo not in the budget. Not to mention the cost of a new range). I will NEVER buy a Whirlpool again. And I want to spread the word about the possibility of your range having the same problem.

I have many rentals, and for over 39 years have always bought Whirlpool dishwashers for them and my own home. I have noticed over the last 15 years or so they are getting more and more poorly made. First I quit buying the plastic tub ones because they collected mold on the back. Then putting one in a rental, we went through 3 brand new ones that all leaked before we got a good one. Now, I bought the very best for my home 2 years ago, had the pump replaced under warranty due to leaks. Now, the plastic upper rack wheel has snapped off its plastic base. For under 30 dollars you get a replacement kit for it, that is all metal. So why didnt Whirlpool just put in the metal ones and charge a little more. So this will be my last Whirlpool, and all the brands they make. Do your research, many of the name brands you know are all made by Whirlpool.

My husband and I purchased this washer in August of 2011. Within 2 years the lid broke because of it a cheap plastic frame on a heavy glass lid. At that time I researched it and found many people with the same complaint. Whirlpool would not do anything for us but the company that we purchased it from did agree to supply the part if we paid the labor. We did this and replaced the lid. Well here it is just right at 2 years again and the lid is completely broken and the washer is unusable. There is no way to bypass the lid issue which makes the washer completely useless.I called Whirlpool again and was told there was nothing that could be done and that because there was not a recall on the product, they would not be able to do anything for me. We have purchased a new Samsung washer that received excellent reviews from Consumer reports and we will NEVER buy another Whirlpool product again. I love my washer and dryer but am a little disappointed in a few areas. First, my washer stopped spinning normally after a few years, I forget exactly why. Then my clothes were too wet when it was done. My dryer then did not get my clothes dry in one cycle. Also, it was going to cost $500 to fix my washer which wasnt worth it. But Whirlpool did send us a new tub and all the parts for free. Thankfully my husband is handy and after finding a YouTube video, replaced it all and now it works again. My dryer still doesnt always dry everything all the way. I often have to do 2-3 cycles in the dryer to get my clothes dry. I thought there was supposed to be a sensor that would keep the dryer going until there was no more moisture. Maybe that is broken too.

Our Whirlpool gas hot water heater was purchased and installed (through Lowes) in April 2008. In February 2009, the thermostat failed. Because the failure happened less than a year after purchase, Whirlpool replaced the part and paid for labor. The hot water heater failed again three weeks ago, and we contacted Whirlpool. We were once again provided with another thermostat, and were charged $135.00 by a plumber to install it (even though the customer service rep stated that there were known issues with this tank model). The tank is still not working properly. We (with our tenants) have tried troubleshooting according to their instructions, to no avail. It has been three weeks now, and no resolution. The heater has a six-year warranty. Not sure what this means if the product is defective to begin with. We pay to attempt to repair it?We will not be spending any more money on labor to install parts that may or may not work and have demanded that Whirlpool replace the heater. Whirlpool has refused to pay for any labor costs and told us that we must take the heater back to Lowes. So I suppose that means we have to pay to have a 3 1/2 year old heater removed from the gas and water lines, transported to Lowes, and a new one installed. What a deal.Stay away from Whirlpool.

I would have been stuck if it were not for Home Depot finally agreeing to exchange it for an LG.I have never been so upset with any companies customer service in my 45 yrs. The only reason that I am writing this is because my Sony 65 TV died the other day. It was 6 months old and I called Sony. They answered within four minutes and quickly decided to exchange it for a new one and extend my warranty for 2 additional years. There are still decent companies out there. I will never buy another Whirlpool product again.

Whirlpool Duet washing machine model WFW9500TW03 - Just after the first year of owning this machine, the metal hinge to the door cracked and the door didnt shut properly. It was replaced. After a couple of years, the bearings and drum of this machine failed. The cost for parts and repair were as much as the machine new. After repairs, the machine never ran quietly again. I have called for repair a second time for the same issue and he has confirmed that its the bearings again causing the drum to dislocate and hence, break the belt that I now need to replace. My problem is with Whirlpool for its defective metal in its machines (many complaints on the internet will confirm this). I believe there are enough consumers out there to file a class action lawsuit.

Our original dishwasher lasted many years and did a good job until it didnt. We replaced it with this one that we found at Home Depot. It is not the one we wanted but the delivery was months away and this one was in stock. It does a good job in cleaning the dishes. The only issue I have is that the top rack is not designed for large mugs or glasses. The wine glass holder has 3 slots, but we can only get two in based on the spacing. Also, our mugs dont fit, well on the other side, inside the fingers. Maybe our dishes are on the larger side...I dont think so but like I said earlier, it does a good job cleaning the dishes.

We purchased our Whirlpool Water Heater about 2 years ago. Three weeks after we bought it, it stopped working; the pilot light would not light. They sent a tech out to replace the thermostat and the thermocouple. Now, it has stopped working again. My husband and I have spent nearly 20 hours on the phone with the WP customer service girls and replaced nearly every part but the tank it self. We have not had hot water for over a week and are at wits end! My husband finally got them to authorize us to get a new water heater from Lowes after they told him there was nothing else they could do to help us. Ive read pages and pages of complaints from other people having this same problem. Why do they put you through all the torture if they know its not going to work? Its very frustrating! We are almost to a point of ripping out all the gas lines and going electric! Will the new one we picked up today have the same problems? Only time will tell!

The washer has rust under the rim in the inside - also the paint is bubbling and peeling under the rim of the washer. I contacted Whirlpool and was told that is a cosmetic problem. There is no warranty for rust or peeling paint. I will never buy another Whirlpool washer. I paid over $700.00 for this washer and I dont think I should have a rust problem after 5 years.

I have had problems with my electric range (Whirlpool) since day one. It always ran hot. I wrote letters to Whirlpool and received one very condescending phone call. Now two days before Thanksgiving it is running terribly hot from 350 to 500 degrees. When I called Whirlpool they said the best they could do was offer me a maintenance plan for 293.00.

Whirlpool refrigerator model GX5F-IDXVB07; S/N K23918029; 24.8 cu ft purchased for almost $2,000 on 1/7/2014. Before it was four months old I had spoken with store about it frosting up the freezer drawer several times. Finally found it wasnt level and drawer was hanging. Ok figured it was ok, even though I had other issues with it. I took the cosmetic issue of false height on door, which made it seem larger and drastically size reduced produce drawers which made it necessary it actually cut off celery two inches to fit in drawer and door nooks being so narrow that they only fit 3 small condiments in them on the left door and its a trick to fit thing in the right, but since they are deeper can fit a little more. Ok thats my fault for not actually measuring. But who takes condiment jars shopping? The killer is that a leak in the ice maker, lets water/ice to build up under the ice maker on floor of freezer drawer. It then freezes there and if we dont take out the drawer and remove the ice chunks by hand it thaws and runs out in the floor about once a week. The leak began to be worse in August 2014. I understand it will need repair. What makes me really upset is the refrigerator is supposedly a very good brand and I have had so many issues with it that I curse it regularly. A two thousand dollar fridge with this many issues and I am stuck with it. I guess I should have contacted company before warranty went out, but we would get it past a problem for a while, then it would come back. I am just sick that I ever bought it in the first place! I hate it and will never buy or advise anyone else to buy from Whirlpool again. Quality is awful. Looks good on surface, stinks for quality.

First of all, Whirlpool is fully aware of the problems with water heaters and intentionally places requirements on the consumer until they give up. This info from a distributor. I bought 30 gal. gas water heater 7 months ago. Six days ago the pilot light went out. Went to Lowes (purchased there) and bought a replacement. Wrong one. Returned to store and was told they dont stock repair parts, call factory. Monday called warranty number. They offers to send thermopile, it would arrive in 5 days. I paid $30 for overnight. Plumber installed new part. Still doesnt work. Whirlpool says have the plumber call them theyll walk him through troubleshooting. I ask, Whos paying the plumber? They reply, You are. Plumber calls Whirlpool. They tell him to clean the screen. He does. They tell him to disassemble the burner. I stop plumber. I ask Whirlpool, What if its not the burner? They reply, Then well troubleshoot something else. Meanwhile Im 5 days without hot water. I go to Lowes where heater was purchased. The manager thought it funny Im another victim. I ask, Why doesnt Lowes stock heater parts? He says because Whirlpool doesnt let them carry parts. Im beat. I surrender. Parts from Whirlpool would take another 5 days and theres no assurance itll work. Lowes refuses to assist.I go to Sutherlands and buy a $450 Rheem on recommendation from plumber. Manager from Sutherlands hears my sad story and writes on receipt: Any warranty failure and Sutherlands will replace water heater free. He signs his name on receipt. I pay plumber to swap out heaters. Anybody want a 7 month old Whirlpool water heater. Like new. Cheap! By the way... I originally went to a major appliance parts store asking for a thermocouple for a Whirlpool. The three guys at the counter started laughing Hey we got another one looking for Whirlpool parts. They didnt have them either. Lesson learned.

I bought 40 gallon gas water heater in June 2004 and had to have it worked on twice, costing more than I paid for it. I am replacing it now because pilot light will not stay on, and it is currently out of warranty, and I have no faith that simple repair will hold more than 1 year stint. Customer service was attentive but product itself failed to meet expectations.

Ive had it with Whirlpool products. I am now getting rid of my third Whirlpool microwave in just eight years. Every one of them had the same exact problem and Whirlpool continues to deny there is a manufacturing defect. Each of them developed a hairline crack extending through the bottom screw of the door handle to the glass on one side and the outside door frame on the other. They will do nothing about it and claim it is just a coincidence. No more Whirlpool ever!

I purchased my first Whirlpool washer in 1959 and have been true to the brand since. This was a big mistake when I bought the WTW4950XW0. At first I thought it was the learning curve on my part with the new technology. The very first wash load was dry on the top layer....never got wet. Then there was the blinking red light .....you could never leave the room and expect it to continue to do anything. One solution I found was to unplug the washer....wait 30 seconds and plug in and follow with lifting the lid and then close the lid followed by holding the start button down for several seconds. This worked sometimes.Very noisy....sounds like a plane taking off after the gears shift and lots of clicking and a long pause to have the water to enter the washer. I have run out of patience. I am going to buy another washer today. I called Whirlpool twice for advice and they offered none but a high dollar repair and no compensation for the lemon I had in my home. Enough is enough.

However, my second water heater did the same exact thing in a different location on the tank after 2 1/2 years. We bought a Whirlpool dishwasher (Ser# F21102027MOD, Model# WDF730PAYB2) after reading some of the reports that it was just as good as a Bosch. Wrong! We bought this washer March 17. On May 17, the selector switch and sub control broke down. We had bought this item at the HH Gregg store here, and also purchased a 5-year warranty which they said we cannot use because the dishwasher is only 2 months old. Is there a lemon law? And what makes this worse is that we called Whirlpool on May 18th. They could not get anyone out here until May 25th to look at it. As of this time, they still could not fix it because the two parts had to be ordered. Today is June 1st and the part is still not in? Makes me think, does this part always go down because its on back order? So you are fully warned, do not purchase a Whirlpool. If I can get some extra money, I am throwing it out and buy a Bosch because I dont think it will ever be fixed.

I am so disappointed, angry and tired! Unfortunately, I listened to the salesperson regarding this feature and bought it hook, line and sinker! The Aqualift self clean system is a joke! It only cleans the bottom of the oven and that is after you mop up the water left in the bottom and scrub it. No amount of scrubbing even touches the sides, back or window, even after using the Aqualift feature 3 times! I spent hundreds of dollars only to be down on my hands and knees scrubbing to no avail. I have not seen 1 good review regarding this system. Shame on me for believing a salesperson and shame on me for not researching first. I will not make this mistake again!

Nice looking, prices very fair for quality product. Options are always good. My mom used Whirlpool. That thing that goes in the middle of the old time washer is now gone. That thing would rip or stretch out clothing bras. Anything that was nice it would make it look horrible. Ive had my washer and dryer for 6 years and they still work like new. When shopping for a washer and dryer I do look for capacity, energy efficient and the brand. I prefer to stick to the old school brands just like my mother did. I must admit that I do love the fact that it is an HD high efficiency washer. The deal-breaker would be a low quality construction made a washer or dryer nobody needs to have problems with it. If youre spending that type of money you need to get good quality items.I love my washer and dryer. Theyre both and white color. Its a Whirlpool Cabrio with HD High efficient load energy saver and H2 wash system. The washer has a lid with a see-through glass which I love. My dryer is also a Whirlpool Cabrio steam with a resource saver that gives me a lot of different options as far as my clothing is concerned on how I need it dry.

Before a year was up after purchasing 4 Whirlpool appliances for our kitchen, our refrigerator needed a new compressor. Of course, they covered the cost because it wasnt a year old yet. After much complaining, they gave me a whopping extra 3 months coverage, until Jan. 2014. Now we have water leaking on the floor and ice collecting on the bottom of the freezer drawer. What a piece of junk! I had sent an e-mail to Whirlpool after the compressor situation telling them that I would never buy from them again and would have nothing good to say about them. No one responded. Goes to show that Whirlpool could care less about their customers satisfaction. Never again will I buy anything Whirlpool makes.
