My washer is nearly 7 yrs. old. It has almost been a full-time spectator sport. Good thing its in the kitchen! Twists sheets so badly - on sheets setting - that it stops and I must undo the balloon its formed and rearrange the wet, heavy 2 sheets and 2 pillow cases. Now, it cant even finish the clean washer cycle without stopping. It seems it doesnt use enough water to do the job of washing items thoroughly. And it balks at heavy loads - which is what we bought this washer to do - blankets, rugs, quilts, etc. Two people, now only one, and two small dogs. I should have at least 10 years of service from that purchase. Repairman says $300+, and he sees it as a very common code. Build them to last or give up. Im disgusted with Whirlpool now.

My boyfriend and I purchase a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer on November
My boyfriend and I purchase a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and Dryer on November 28, 2010 from Lowes in Shepherdsville, KY. Just after we purchased the set, I read some bad online reviews of the set. I called Lowes and talked to Chris ** in appliances and he assured me that this was a good set and that it was very popular with their customers. He assured me that if there were any problems that Lowes would make sure they did everything they could to fix and/or replace the appliance(s). My intention was to cancel the order when I called, but he convinced me not to, now I completely regret not canceling that order that day.In May of 2011 we called Lowes to report that the dryer was not working properly; they sent a repair person from Maytag Service Co, 1500 South Shelby, Louisville, KY 40217, phone number 502-637-6526. The name on the card that the repair person left is Steve **. The repair tech indicated that the problem was that the belt had come off and he put the belt back on the dryer. It has worked without issue until about 2 weeks ago, when it stopped drying again. I assume the belt is off again since it is performing exactly the same as it did in May when we had the repair company out.I called Maytag Service Co approximately 1 to 1 1/2 weeks ago to see when a tech could come back out and I was told they only work Monday - Friday. I told them both my boyfriend and I work and cant really take time off from work to be home for the repair. The male on the phone indicated that they could call 30 minutes before arriving if that would help. I told them that wouldnt really help since I work in Louisville (about 30 minutes from Shepherdsville where we live). He indicated that was the best they could do.Yesterday, November 7th sometime during business hours. I spoke with someone in their appliance department. He indicated that I would need to call Maytag Service Co at 502-637-6526. I called them and was advised that they could come out the next day (today), November 8th, but they could not give me a time window. I spoke to a female who did not identify herself. She specifically stated, If someone has not called you by 8:30 a.m., you can call us and we will give you a time window. Since I had just earned a vacation day at work, I so desperately need my dryer working that I took the day off to get the dryer fixed. I got up at 7:30 a.m. this morning to prepare for the service call. I have not left the house today. At 9:20 a.m. my boyfriend called and said that the service company had called and they were not coming out. I called them back and again spoke to an unidentified female. She indicated that they called my boyfriends phone at 9:00 a.m., he called them back at 9:20 a.m. I was on the phone with the female at 9:25 a.m. She indicated that I should have called at 8:30 a.m. and that they never call their customers because they dont have time to call them all. She said that when my boyfriend didnt answer the phone at 9:00 a.m., they had to send their tech on to the next call because, they cant have their tech waiting around 20 - 30 minutes on customers to answer their phone. When I told her that I took my only vacation day to be home for this call, she indicated that I would have to reschedule for another day because their tech was already on his way to another city. I then stated that I thought that was ** and she hung up on me.I called and spoke with the store manager at Lowes in Shepherdsville, KY. He called Maytag Service Co and was told that I used profanity and was rude and that I would not provide them with an alternate number. Most if not all of these are lies. I did say **, but I was not rude and I was never asked for an alternate number. I give out my number and my boyfriends number to almost any company we deal with. My boyfriend is also a service technician for Icee Corporation and he is not allowed to be on a cell phone in his work truck; therefore I always give both numbers since I can easily answer the phone throughout the day. The store manager made several attempts to try to find another company to come out and service our dryer, but cannot find anyone to come before tomorrow. Since I used my only vacation day today, I cannot be here for the technician and my boyfriend doesnt have any vacation or sick time to take to be home for the call.I cannot believe that after spending over $1300 on a Whirlpool Washer and Dryer set (including several hundred dollars for the extended warranty), that we cannot get our dryer serviced at our convenience. Since when did companies only repair or back up their products at their convenience? This in my opinion is the worst customer service I have ever seen. I thought Whirlpool/Maytag was a good company; now Im not so sure. I just wish I could return the set and do more research and find a quality appliance that wont break down 2 times in less than a year!!

Bought a French door whirlpool gold, wanted a good long lasting fridge. Bought in late 2011. After having it a couple of weeks we noticed the ice maker would take days to make ice. So we called to have it looked at. The repairman said if it is slow, switch it to fast ice. It made ice even slower, but the repair company said if it is making ice, and he comes out, we would be charged. So we lived with it. In 2014 it stopped making ice at all. We called they sent someone out and said it was a control board. They had to order it, and came back a week later to put it in. They left and said we would have ice soon. Never did!!!So we call again, they come out and said no power to ice maker. He called Whirlpool and they said wires in the freezer door were worn and broke. Well the door is non-serviceable and the cost of the door will exceed the price of the fridge! What kind of crap is that!! Long story short I will never buy another whirlpool again, and when I hear of someone buying new appliances I warn them to stay away from whirlpool!!! Run!!!

Purchased a matching set, Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washing Machine and Dry
Purchased a matching set, Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum Washing Machine and Dryer in November of 2012. After just over 2 years, Im stuck replacing the Washing Machine at my expense! The washing machine began leaking water out of the bottom of the unit and became extremely loud when operating it. The repair technician said it was a seal and bearing that needed replaced and the cost of repairing the unit would be cost prohibitive versus replacing the unit all together ($800+)! Originally paid over 2K to purchase these units and have them installed. I do not want to trust or rely on the Whirlpool brand again. I would appreciate any recommendation for a better quality, high capacity, HE washing machine brand to replace the Whirlpool unit with (Samsung, GE, LG)??

I bought my Whirlpool top loading washing machine 07-22-14. I so dislike the locking mechanism and will be certain to never, ever buy a machine with that feature again. It is so irritating to try to add something but cant because its locked so have to hold the button 3 seconds to unlock and start all over. If there was any way to get around it I would. I will stay away from Whirlpool products in the future and will be sure to check the next time I buy that the lid of the washer can be lifted when not spinning. Also, I do not like that it sticks on rinse sometimes and the only way to end a cycle is to hold the button and then start over with much wasted water.

Three years ago I bought a Whirlpool 22 cf bottom freezer (GB2FHDXWB02) & within 2 weeks it developed its first problem. Ive had service men out 3 times (on an extended warranty) for ice buildup and leakage, presumably from the icemaker, and the problem hasnt been solved yet. I tried to open the freezer tonight and the handle pulled off in my hands, nearly sending me head over heels. This thing is a major lemon!!! Dont get me wrong: I love the design! It looks good, keeps everything at the right temps & the bottom freezer is a great idea. Id buy the same design again if I could guarantee no leakage and a handle that wont separate from the door. Now Im having problems getting the repair service to come out here again, despite the warranty. Meanwhile, the fridge is leaking onto the wood laminate floor causing damage. I just replaced an ancient dishwasher & my old Whirlpool glasstop stove after its oven failed. I cant afford a new fridge too.

Same as others, We purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio Washer and there is a bearing problem (which seems to be the common issue reported). The washer is unusable at less than 5 years of age. The repairman told us its a bearing problem and its common for this to happen to the Cabrio. How can an Whirlpool get away with selling a defective product?

I purchased this washer (Whirlpool Cabrio HE) 2 years ago against the advise of many people including my husband due to the cost, $850 for what is now no more than a large paper weight! It had never really done a good job at cleaning our clothes. About 6 months ago, it started not spinning enough to remove all the water from the load. I thought, no big deal, I will just use the extra spin cycle. It became the normal thing - wash, spin, extra spin. Well, then it became wash, spin, extra spin, extra spin. I noticed 3 months ago that it was not even agitating. It fills up, sounds like it is agitating and then drains. There was no movement from inside at all. All along I am getting from my husband. told you not to buy it! I gave in and called the repairman - $185 for a console, $26 for a sensor and $55 for a couple of drum clips and then the $35/hour for the repairs. I would rather spend a couple hundred dollars and buy a washer with an agitator that really works. I would never recommend this washer to anyone!

I have a two year old Whirlpool dishwasher. The soap dispenser cover broke
I have a two year old Whirlpool dishwasher. The soap dispenser cover broke shortly after the warranty ran out. It cost 100.00 for repairs. A year later, it broke again. I sent a letter and the part to the CEO of Whirlpool. They sent a repairmen to fix it free of charge. When you have a problem with a Whirlpool product go to the head of the company. If they get enough calls they will make better parts. Call 1-269-759-6919. Write a letter, return request receipt. It takes a little effort, but it helps a lot of people.

I have a two-year-old top of the line Whirlpool Duet Steam washer. Cleaning
I have a two-year-old top of the line Whirlpool Duet Steam washer. Cleaning performance is adequate at best, but my biggest complaint is about the visible mold buildup that collects on the water dispensing plate as well as on the detergent, bleach and softener dispenser and rubber lining of the washer opening. I have cleaned the removable detergent dispenser weekly since purchasing. The water dispensing plate has a continuous buildup of thick black mold that can only be removed with a tooth brush and bleach and only a small portion of those openings are reachable. I have cleaned the machine with Affresh as recommended and exactly as the manufacturer recommends. Nothing changes! I contacted Whirlpool and was told this was normal for all washers in which some moisture always remains and that I should continue to clean and leave the door and dispenser drawer open to allow the areas to air dry. So, I have done all of those things for the past year and nothing has changed! I received notification that a class action suit had been filed against Whirlpool for this mold issue but have not been contacted in any other way. Not only is this mold visibly disgusting but certainly is worrisome from a health perspective. When I contacted the company a second time, I was told there was nothing that could be done and it was in no way a design flaw on the part of Whirlpool.

I purchased this refrigerator, approximately 3 yrs. ago. Right away the top crisper broke. I have put up with this broken crisper only to have broken the PLASTIC lips that hold the crisper to the top shelf. Piece of junk. I looked to order a new crisper but way to expensive so I just suffered thru. I cant even use it anymore as I cannot open or close it without it falling onto the bottom crisper. Would like to throw the thing out, but cannot afford another one. IT WILL NOT BE A WHIRLPOOL!!!

I purchased my new Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load washer to replace a Maytag that had finally given out in the summer of 2012. I wish I did more due diligence, but with a toddler and a newborn, I needed a washer asap. I severely regret my $800 purchase from Sears. It is now February 2013 and the machine basically only runs on two cycles - Casual and Normal. All the others stop in mid-cycle. Sometimes, the items are still dry or partially wet so I need to switch to another cycle to complete the wash. This is not good for Delicates or when I wash Whites, Heavy Duty or Bulky items which is one of the reasons I purchased the model. The cycle stops when the items are soaked with massive amounts of water. So I then have to turn it to the Drain cycle and start over. After a day of washing one load, I couldve done it the old-fashioned way in my utility basin sink and hung it out to dry ... I dont have the time for this. I am going to make a formal complaint to Whirlpool and to Sears. I cannot keep spending nearly $1,000 for items that break within a year. These companies should be ashamed of their lack of quality. I shouldve gone with the Electrolux and just dealt with the price tag - I wouldve been much happier.

Do not waste your valuable dollars on this refrigerator. Not even 5 years old and have had nothing but issues with this fridge. The ice maker quit a few months ago, started leaking water from somewhere behind the wall panels and now the freezer door is frozen shut and the refrigerator section is warmer than the outside air. Did I mention that this refrigerator isnt even 5 years old yet? A piece of junk is a piece of junk and this fridge is a piece of junk!!!

We purchased a new Whirlpool Cooker (Model Number YWFE745HOFH2) in June 202
We purchased a new Whirlpool Cooker (Model Number YWFE745HOFH2) in June 2021. Our first disappointment came when we used the Self Clean function to clean the oven. Unlike our previous Whirlpool cooker (which we were very pleased with) this required us to put water into the bottom section of the oven. After the advised time the oven was exactly the same as at the start of the process. For readers of this review I would like to stress that the oven was not excessively soiled. We just wanted to try out the feature. In August my wife dropped a ceramic cup onto the cooker top and the top shattered completely. This, of course, was not the fault of Whirlpool, but we were shocked that the damage was so extensive. A new cooker top was ordered and arrived at the beginning of October (dispatch problems). After each use of the cooker top it has been cleaned with a recommended cleaning product. Today I accidentally allowed a pot of rice to boil over and, although I immediately removed the pot from the cooker top and wiped both the bottom of the pot and the top before continuing, the residue will not come off of the surface. It looks awful! We had our last cooker for over 10 years - if I could afford to I would get rid of this product tomorrow!

This is about my Whirlpool washing machine that has abruptly stopped workin
This is about my Whirlpool washing machine that has abruptly stopped working. My Whirlpool washing machine was bought in 2013 and was running [absolutely] great until Tuesday October 3, 2017. I called customer service and they said it was out of warranty. My Whirlpool washing machine model number is: WTW48008Q0. Serial number is: C34923747. I do not have the money to get this machine fixed. I am already a struggling mom, working hard to pay bills and I am already falling behind on most of them. I just had death in my family and now the machine dies - well there seems to be no end to all of this. I would really appreciate Whirlpools help in getting my machine up and running again. I have been a loyal Whirlpool customer over the span of more than two decades. I am a Whirlpool fan. My past machines have lasted 12 plus years on upwards to 15 years each.Let me share exactly what my washing machine is doing: I went to wash clothes as usual the other day; the machine filled up and stopped abruptly - that was it! It did not spin but instead emptied the water without washing the clothes and made some loud chitty chitty bang bang noises before it was all over. I unplugged it after wasting a lot more water thinking that it might just suddenly start working. It did not start working again, it just continued its non-working status. My family has bought Whirlpool washing machines and dryers for years from Sears; we were totally satisfied with the products we purchased, however, this washing machine did not make the five year mark. I really do not know what is going on with the machine; what I do know is this - it stopped working and I would like to get it working again. Hopefully it is not defective by design. #WhirlpoolWasherDefectiveByDesign. I found Whirlpool washing machines to be very reliable and would love to continue my great relationship with Whirlpool.

Was baking a pie when suddenly noticed the electric range had caught fire underneath the bottom of the oven. I could see partially through the slits inside that the heating element was on fire. Could not get to heating element as it covered. Shut the door and turned the oven off so the fire would die out. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. I was baking pecan pie. Whirlpool is no longer a quality brand. Washing machine bought at the same time has been repaired twice since owning. Also, Aqualift technology is a joke. It doesnt remove any messes burned during cooking. I wish Id stayed away from this complaint. Bought a stove, washer, and dryer. Dryer has been the only appliance we havent had a problem with. We saved over a year to ripped off by Whirlpool. I expected a washer and stove to last far longer than 3 years. Actually would be 3 yrs come December. So disappointed.

This stove is a joke. The range gets too hot even when you have the setting on low. The oven now has started becoming hot when its not turned on. Goes up to 245 and its scary. I have small children and Im scared my house will catch fire or have a unnecessary increase in my electric bill.

Within 5 years, this is my experience: A broken brand new Whirlpool fridge after 6 months of purchase; a broken oven that needed repair after 1 year, and today, the oven door just shattered in pieces after I heard a loud noise from the kitchen, almost injured the kids. And guess what, I just returned a new Tilt-Head Stand Mixer KitchenAid that wouldnt stay in place; the head keeps on tilting and would not stay locked. After being on hold on the phone for almost 3 weeks for a return, I found out it was a Whirlpool brand family. This is horrible, I would suggest to never buy the Whirlpool brand; their products are a real nightmare and their customer service is not reliable. If you do buy from them, expect unreliable products and very long long wait periods on the phone.

Thank God for this website and Frank of Dover (postings on Feb. 11, 2013 and Jan. 7, 2011). We just had exactly the same horrid experience with the lid on our Whirlpool Cabrio Washer WTW7800XW. Just as with Frank, our home warranty provider first accused us of abusing the machine. I merely printed out Franks comments and description, whereupon the home warranty provider reluctantly agreed to replace the lid. We also bought an extra lid and are keeping it in our attic for the next failure. Do not purchase this washer!

I have a similar problem with my stainless steel Whirlpool bottom freezer refrigerator, model EB9FVHRWS01, purchased in May 2011 from Sears Canada. Exactly a year later, right after the warranty expired, I started getting ice forming on the floor under the bottom freezer. I have been cleaning it out on a weekly basis for the past just over a year. If I dont clean it out, then water seeps out onto the floor. I purchased an extended warranty for my new stove but didnt for my fridge.A co-worker had the exact same problem, with ice forming on the bottom freezer exactly a year later. He purchased the extended warranty and had the Sears repairman come in and replace a $50 part (box in back) ($150 labour). The repairman said this is a manufacturers defect in these fridges and theyve had many such cases. Apparently, the box in the back freezes up and water cant drain to where its supposed to go to be evaporated so it drips to the bottom of the freezer. I contacted Whirlpool and inquired, and they said there was no defect or noted problems with my model. Now Im contemplating whether or not I should spend the $200 and get the defective part replaced. Sigh.

Hi. We purchased a french doors 32 cubic feet refrigerator from Home Depot in January 2017. Since day one it has not worked correctly. We have dual ice makers and neither one works. The fridge doesnt cool at all! Whirlpool sent out an appliance repair company who said they ordered the parts. Its been 2 months and guess what still no parts on order and still have no refrigerator. So after 45 or more minutes on the phone with them for the millionth time we came to the conclusion that we are stuck with a POS refrigerator! They refuse to swap the fridge out. They said Home Depot would have to swap it and its against their policy. (Thats another complaint department.) We will never recommend a Whirlpool product again. Never buy Whirlpool. They love taking our money and thats where they stop.

We moved into a new house in May 2013 and there was a new Whirlpool Gas Range installed. We have experienced an intermittent problem where the oven will not ignite since day one. We have reported it to Whirlpool and different technicians have attempted to repair it but it is still faulty. When the standard warranty ran out I purchased the Extended Warranty Protection from Whirlpool but it is WORTHLESS and they cannot fix it! The last technician from Philips Appliance in San Diego was terrible. He said he would order a new control board but never did and he closed the case without telling us.When I called Whirlpool to check on the status of the problem I was told that they will not look at or change parts for intermittent problems so what did I pay the extended warranty money for? When the oven does not ignite there is a smell of gas and we are now concerned that it may be dangerous so we are about to dump this useless Whirlpool gas range to a purchase a LG model! Bottom line is NEVER BUY Whirlpool and NEVER WASTE your money on a Whirlpool Extended Warranty Plan!

Bought brand new, Whirlpool front load washer and dryer, from Corbeil. Got both items home and connected and levelled (yes I took out the shipping bolts). Did my first washing and watched my new washer dance across the floor. Called Corbeil and they told me no refunds. Best they could do was to send out a Tech to check it. Tech came, changed the shock absorbers, a token act because the machine danced as much as it did before. Please for your own well being DO NOT buy this product and DO NOT buy from Corbeil. There are other products on the market that advertise items that dont shake.

The space could be laid out a little better. The flimsy shelf is not real stable for foods or ice tray. Where the shelf locks into the side wall is not deep enough to stabilize the shelf itself. The flat indentations in the bottom, where they meet the front, have an edge that makes properly cleaning the freezer a bit difficult.

Bought the washer from HH Gregg for over $560 12/2012. Turned on power 4/2014 and just heard clicking noises then nothing. Had to get technician. Paid for $75 service charge and waiting for cost of labor and part for the lid lock/latch assembly. I see a lot of complaints with this new machine. I bought a new one BECAUSE I did not want any problems with repairs. Whirlpool is ripping off the consumer passing out this piece of discombobulated metal, wires and electronics. An appliance like this should last AT LEAST 7 years without a problem. I wish there was a class action lawsuit and will be waiting to the day it surely comes.

I purchased a washer, dryer and refrigerator from Sears and it has been a terrible experience! The fridge broke twice, the dryer broke twice, and the washer broke around four times! I was told that since they fixed it last time for free, this repair was on me! If all the items didnt break numerous times, I would not be upset. But for all the items to break so many times, thats telling me that I shopped at the wrong store! The Whirlpool Cabrio sucks! So, I was told by Sears on 8/1/11 to ** it up!

I have purchased Whirlpool refrigerator 2 years back. Suddenly my refrigerator stop working. When I filled complaint against this in customer service care. They sent technician. He told its compressor not working and asked 2800 rs for gas filling. Then he said hell come tomorrow for this. For 4 days he didnt come. After 20 calls, to customer service centre they said, Your refrigerator has to sent to the center. For that they asked 1000 rs... We were so disturbed by their slow service. We immediately said yes. Now when our refrigerator arrived at their center. Now they are again asking for 3400 rs for other part. Im so frustrated by this service. What type of warranty you are giving.. The warranty is of just the box.... So bad products. Such a bad experience... Never gonna buy Whirlpool product again or recommend anyone.

My Whirlpool refrigerator needed a $400 mechanical repair shortly after the 1 year warranty expired. Its only been 13 months since repair, and the refrigerator is experiencing the same problems again! Whirlpool is plagued by negative reviews across the internet... hundreds of complaints on Yelp.ca forums, and consumeraffairs.com. There also used to be hundreds of negative Google reviews, but mysteriously all of those reviews have disappeared, and you can no longer leave a Google review for Whirlpool Corporation.

My parents bought a Whirlpool refrigerator that makes a strange noise, an intermittent clicking. Sometimes it goes on for hours. It is neither the ice maker, nor the compressor. I have had the machine pair (Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum) for almost 4 years and up until a few months ago I LOVED the washer. I was advised when I bought the machine to make sure to read the manual, which was very helpful in learning to use it properly. I have never had residue on my dark clothing or ever had the clothes come out partially dry. I use liquid HE detergent nothing powder goes in the machine. I also read many reviews before buying it and a got some advice from them. I have washed king size comforters with no problems. Everything has always cleaned very well. The only issues I have are that when bleach was used in a previous cycle. Ive had a problem with the bleach not being fully dispensed and ending up in the next load. Fortunately it was just towels and not darks!!! Although, I had just bought the towels and now they look tie died which was very upsetting to me. I learned to add water to the bleach dispenser to dilute it and that issue seemed to dissipate. BUT NOW... I COULD THROW A TANTRUM. I PAID 1800+ FOR THE PAIR AND THE WASHER IS SHOT!!! A pretty common problem with the Cabrio from what Ive read. It started by making a very loud noise when spinning, like a helicopter was landing in my laundry room! I continued using it, I even thought the sound was getting better after I did the clean cycle. The last load I did would not complete the cycle because it kept reading that it was unbalanced and unfortunately it was a load of heavy wet towels. I was far from happy when I had to remove them and go to a Laundromat. Needless to say its the bearings and to fix its very costly. I cant even fathom that a less than 4 year old machine needs to be repaired and the cost is roughly half of what I paid for it!!! I do know I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool. What happened to making things to last??? Next machine I will definitely get extended warranty. I can honestly agree with all the other reviews... THIS MACHINE IS HORRIBLE!!!

I purchased this range/electric (ygfe461lvq0) two years ago. It worked fine, but once about a year ago, the oven overheated and the breaker had to be turned off to stop it. No error codes were displayed. Year two, the oven broiler element stays on regardless if using bake or broil. Oven will go into runaway mode and breaker or cancel button has to be pushed to stop it from over heating. This range is a fire hazard and should be recalled regardless of what age it is. I called Whirlpool at Sears which recommended a tech who arrived to tell me that the control board is shot and for a price of around $400.00, it could be replaced. What is up with that? I had to pay for the expensive tech, also for 15 minutes of work. Sears says that I should have taken the extended warranty plan for around $160. Do I have to pay for an extended plan to have my house burned down due to a defect in manufacturing from Whirlpool? This is disgusting that a company can get away with crap like this. How do you people sleep at night?

I guess I am in the lucky group because my washer lasted about 3 years before the problems started. The latest is the lid lock light flashing, the machine doesnt go through full cycle but stops in the middle, doesnt spin and drain. Even before that the clothes didnt come out clean. The repairman said that this product is basically disposable and it makes more sense to buy a new washer than to invest in fixing this one because something else will break next.My old White Westinghouse lasted 18 years without one problem, Im sorry I wanted something new. What a pity that companies nowadays sell junk and the consumer has nowhere to go with a complaint. Im wondering if someone has the name and the address of the CEO of Whirlpool, I would like to ship that piece of junk to where it came from... it would be funny if other customers did the same. And I agree with other posts that class action suit would be in order... too bad nobody started it yet. I wish I had read the reviews before I made the purchase but at least I know now to stay away from all Whirlpool products and do whatever I can to prevent other people from making the same mistake I did.

If you are considering a Cabrio washing machine, save yourself the aggravation and buy something else. I purchased a Cabrio model WTW5640X from Lowes 2 years ago. It has been one disappointment after another. First, the clothes were coming out really wrinkled and not fully rinsed. I now routinely use the extra rinse cycle. I also started washing very small loads with hardly any soap (and yes, I use the HE detergent). That works for me, but its not practical for a household of more than 2.This machine is also not for anyone with kids or who expects to remove routine soils. It doesnt clean well. White socks start looking dingy after a few washes, and even the hot cycle with bleach doesnt get whites white. Now, the washer has started shutting off with the clothes still soaking wet. I can press the Drain & Spin cycle to get it finish the job, but that adds another 13 minutes to the 63 minutes it already takes for a regular cycle with the extra rinse. I so wish I had not replaced my 15 year old Kenmore.

My Whirlpool refrigerator does well overall to maintain food items. However, even at the lowest freeze settings, some of the food items that are stored towards the rear of the refrigerator shelf have a tendency to freeze. This oftentimes results in food items having to be wasted. Other than that, the overall appearance and performance of the Whirlpool refrigerator is great.

We purchased a number of Whirlpool appliances (dishwasher, double door refrigerator, Duet stackable washer and dryer). After 14 months, the ice maker broke. $200 later, it was repaired with an upgraded kit.Last week, the washer error coded and the door locked so we could not get out the wet clothes. Called customer (no) service and they advised that we needed to call a service tech because he has a special tool to unlock the door. I stopped by our local appliance store and the counter person told me how to open the door. Had the tech come out for $70 and it could be the lock mechanism or the control panel. It turns out to be the control panel, which costs $250 + labor and would total to around $500, give or take a little. We are in our 60s, my wife does not take in laundry and the ice dispenser was seldom used because I can sneeze ice faster than this can dispense it so I open the freezer door to get my ice.The tech and the store clerk said that these were common problems with these machines. This was a major expense when purchased. So far, the dish washer has not had any problems, but tonight might be the night. The reason we bought Whirlpool is because of the Maytag connection, now that is in the same toilet.

I was very disappointed with their poor customer service, but above all, their warranty. They emailed instructions to run a test, which did not resolve my issue since I still run out of hot water halfway through my shower. Mind you, its only one person in the house for a 40-gallon Whirlpool water heater. I have replaced the heating elements and thermostat, and it is still not heating. I contacted Whirlpool customer service, and they are refusing to replace it, stating that the water heater is working. I will never buy any Whirlpool appliances again. I purchased this washer 3 years ago. At year 2, I had to replace the RPS part. The codes that appear represent 2 different issues as well: one being the RPS part and also for the control panel. In less than 1 year since this replacement, it is broken again! The clothes do not get very clean. You cant soak whites in hot water and bleach (it drains after 5 minutes if you stop it). You have to use the bulky setting to get enough water to actually wash your clothes. If you get too much detergent, your clothes comes out crunchy feeling even with the extra rinse.I thought this Whirlpool product would be great since my 22 year old dishwasher is a Whirlpool and still works but as the old saying goes... They dont make them to last like they used to. To say this washer is a POS Lemon is an understatement! We purchased a Whirlpool 5 top burner gas range in 2008. The oven stopped working. It would click 2-3 times, heat to 100 degrees then stop. Luckily, the range was still in the 1 year warranty. WP sent a tech out who eventually deemed it non-repairable. WP replaced the range. We were sent a letter offering an extended warranty plan May/June 2012. We took advantage considering our troubles with the first range. In October 2012, we noticed the oven started the same problem (2-3 clicks and would not ignite). In addition, the top burner clicks on its own to the point to having to unplug it. Since then, we have not plugged it back in for we feel it’s not safe! We have been working with WP Extended Service Plan (ESP). The obligor is the Federal Warranty Service Corp. for 2 months, ruining our Thanksgiving and now a few weeks till Christmas, our family is still without a range/oven. The ESP claims the damage is from chewed wiring from rodents. We live near fields that have just been cut; mice are coming into our home. However, when the tech came out, finally, he claims there are no chewed wires and the part he has to fix the oven is not worth putting in and will contact the ESP claims department to deem the range/oven non-repairable. This is the second range/oven - its doing the exact same problem as the first but ESP refuses to help us. The last supervisor would not do anything. We requested his ID# and he hung up on us. I contacted WP directly and waiting to if they can help.

If you leave change in your pocket as everyone does then it will end up in the bottom below the basket and get trapped. I called Whirlpool’s 800 customer service line to let them know I was having a problem with this loud humming and rattling noise coming from my refrigerator because of a manufacturing defect (according to the service tech that came to my house to fix it). Apparently, the metal grid is being held by a flat mental hook which vibrates. What a loud noise. We cannot eat in our kitchen: the noise it terrible. The repairmans solution was to put a piece of rubber between the two metal pieces. It worked until he left. I told him it would start again and it did! On December 24, I was planning my annual Christmas Eve dinner when my oven just decided to quit working completely. This was the third time my oven broke down on me. I called Whirlpool and they pretty much told me theyll get to me when they can but it was the holiday. So I understood that it would be a few days. I had a technician come out to my house on December 27 and tell me that he needed to order a fuse. He called all over the state to find one but no one had one so he put it as an emergency. The technician did everything he could to accommodate me but could only do so much. So I waited and waited but heard nothing.Today, January 3, I called the department to see when my part was going to be here and they tell me January 10 - unacceptable. I called the management team and spoke with Tiffany who pretty much just told me, Sorry. You have to wait five business days to find out if the part is available. If not, then we can discuss sending new ovens. Why would we have to wait five business days from January 3 when it was ordered on December 27? Look, Im a very reasonable woman and this is the first time I have ever complained online about a company. But I have gone 10 days without an oven and I have a family that I cook for daily. My ovens are four months old so this should not be happening. And when it does, there should be parts to fix it or a replacement on hand because no family should have to go without an oven when they just paid a ** load of money for it. Customer Service should be a little more sympathetic and a little less about business because at the end of the day, theyre not the ones suffering, we are. Also if this part is on back order, that tells me that this probably happens often. Maybe Whirlpool should recall this oven model because whoever heard of an oven overheating? Get it together. I will spread the word of mouth about my experience!

Each time the repair person has come out it costs me a day of work due to having to wait all day for the repair service that Whirlpool hires out, well be there between 9am and 4pm. No parts are being replaced... no one knows how to fix it. I dont understand why a large company like Whirlpool would want people to write bad reviews for their products and customer service. Im extremely irritated with how I have been treated. I just want a refrigerator that works!! DO NOT BUY A WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATOR!!

I purchased the extended warranty for my refrigerator and the warranty company sent a technician out to repair my refrigerator. It has been six weeks and 4 attempts and no one can do anything to fix it. The warranty wont refund my money without deductions from the company coming out and fixing nothing and says itll take 2 weeks before I can get that. After mailing in writing that I want to cancel 500 dollars wasted and no one wants to help. Thanks Whirlpool. Ill definitely let all my family and friends know of my experience.

Because the Korean appliances are a problem for repairmen, were stuck with a Whirlpool choice. Seems to be a good fridge. Noisier than my Kenmore (Korean). I got instructions from repairman on opening right door first and closing it last. Otherwise rubber wears out too soon. If I put anything on left door opposite ice maker, it freezes, making that shelf useless! We had ordered a Kitchenaid but the installers damaged it.

Avoid Whirlpool refrigerators and dishwashers. Fridge sounds like someone’s trying to get out. Repair person said it’s icemaker and typical. Dishwasher has little friction gaskets that keeps the door from falling open. They’ve been replaced twice and found one on floor today. Plastic end of slider for upper shelf keeps falling off repairman replaced it showed me how to put it back on. This falls off regularly. Range has coils underliner of oven. Takes forever to preheat and self cleaner cycle is a joke. Million dollar condo with upgraded crap appliances.

We recently bought a home and our dishwasher came with the home. We saw our basement leaking and got 2 plumbers come over and check the pipes out, paying almost $600, only to realize that the leak was actually from the broken plastic in our dishwasher, and not any pipe. When we called the Customer Service to get it replaced as it comes with a 20 year warranty on the plastic body, they said they would replace the part, but I would have to pay $81 for the first 15 min & $19 every additional 15 min. for labor, which means I would end up paying at least close to $400 or more, depending on how long the technician takes to replace the fiber body. Neither their policy nor warranty make any sense to me. Its frustrating to see that in spite of being covered, I would be the one paying money out of my pocket.

Whirlpool Duet Washing Machine model WFW9150WW02 - This machine was purchased new in Sept. 2011 along with a brand new dryer. We started noticing a rumbling sound within the first year, but both machines did a fantastic job on the laundry. Then last week, the washing machine didnt spin out a load of laundry. We called the company and they scheduled a service visit through A&E Factory Service. The technician immediately diagnosed the problem as a bad bearing and said that he had seen the problem frequently with this model and put it down to a design defect. The bearing is housed in a stainless sheath protected by a rubber seal, but the seal lets water in, which rusts the bearing. The cost to repair it was over $700. He suggested I call WP and ask for a concession, whereby the company would at least pick up all or part of the cost of parts. The service representative summarily dismissed the request, saying the company had no obligation to stand behind the product as the machine was out of warranty. I said that this was unacceptable. She was pleasant, but kept asking questions and putting me on hold. Ultimately, she said the same thing. Whirlpool was once a dependable name, no more.

Bought in October 2014. Died December 2015. The previous Whirlpool microwave this unit replaced was 10 years old and carried a 5 year warranty on the magnetron. Imagine my dismay to find out this unit carried only a 1 year warranty on the magnetron. So 2 months past warranty expiration Im left with a dead unit. I performed elementary troubleshooting. The unit has a fuse on the 120 Volt input. But the unit must be disassembled to gain access to the fuse. So what SHOULD be a five minute job turned into an hour and a half. The fuse wasnt the problem - replacement fuses blew like popcorn. Fuse placement within the unit without regard for service considerations is a poor design. To their credit, Whirlpool agreed to cover the cost of repairs if I would pay for labor. I agreed. A tech came out and looked at the unit. He said that he would have to order a bunch of parts and that he would be back in contact by the end of the week. Three weeks went by. There was no call from the tech; my messages on his voicemail generated no response. So a couple of days later I purchased a replacement from a competing manufacturer.

I went from an HE front loader to an HE top loader (Whirlpool Cabrio WTW7000DW0) due to the risk of mildew with the front loader. Im not the only one doing laundry and if someone else does it, it always seems that they shut the door when empty, contributing to moisture and mold that needed to be cleaned out of the gaskets. I am so unhappy with my top loader HE washer. When I stop the machine and look, I always see my laundry half covered with dingy water, sometimes part of it still dry at the top and it is disgusting. I frequently have to rewash loads due to detergent getting trapped in folds or pockets created that hold on to dirt and lint, even being careful with the detergent amount. I run the washer now every time with settings of deep water, extra rinse, heavy load and presoak with instructions, with settings taped to the top for others. At almost 1 1/2 hours each load, we just cant keep up. The laundry still forms pockets and sheets form a giant tent over the entire load that has to be unraveled at the end of the cycle and wound so tight it had no chance of rinsing. I had to get a repair person out because it got out of balance and he had a small hand-held computer to enter a code to rebalance it. When we discussed the issues I was having, he was ready for everything I was doing wrong. He told me I can not wash blankets or large items (I thought I was buying large capacity with such an enormous drum). He told me they have caught people adding water with a bucket during cycles and that the washer software can tell them if people are trying to work around the system which voids the warranty.Apparently, this is a common complaint he blames on the government wanting high efficiency so they make the numbers look good, sacrificing the ability of the washer to perform at what a consumer expects. I have never seen the water in my drum higher than a couple inches and the drum is HUGE, but never used to capacity. He told me his wife demanded they get a commercial washer because she was so angry about how poorly it cleaned. I feel so scammed and I wish I could have my old agitator back. $100 for the repair call, $150 for the code to be put in and Im on warning that they will see if I try to add water, run out of balance or dont comply with any reason they can void the warranty by just checking the data the washer is collecting on us.

I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio topload washer (WTW7800XW2) in April 2011. In May 2012, I noticed the door was broken on both sides. It has now popped up and is broken so bad that it can barely be used without replacing it. I called Lowes, where it was purchased, to quickly be told that there was nothing they could do because it is out of the years warranty. This is just such a copy out to have an excuse, so that they would not even offer any assistance. Also, I paid $2,000.00 for the set; I bought the dryer as well. I just could not imagine an expensive machine like this having such a problem. Prior to buying this machine, I had my washer for 10 years. It has no problem; it was just time to buy a newer model, so I thought! After the store (Lowes) would not help, I decided to call Whirlpool; and the woman I spoke with was even less help. Andrea said there was nothing they could do since it was outside the year of manufacturers warranty. She seemed glad to have this as an excuse. I told her this is too much money to have something like this to happen. I told her it is obvious the door was defective. She said again sorry but that theres nothing she could do. She did offer to sell me a warranty for a year for $327.52. This was too expensive. I asked her what else could she do, and she told me nothing. I asked how much the door was, and she told me $212.00. I feel like I have been royally and deliberately ripped off, and Whirlpool knows it. I say to anyone reading this to please be aware if you are purchasing this product. You will most likely be sorry you invested all this money for it. You will get a companys brand that does not care and will not stand by their product.

DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER (Whirlpool Gold Series dishwasher)!!! We bought a camp with this dishwasher in it brand new. It has been serviced three times in the past year because the dishes (especially utensils) do not dry. The service company first said it was because I needed to use jet dry. What a joke! I told them I was using jet dry so they sent a service man out. He had to read a manual in order to try and figure out what was wrong with it. He then decided the entire motherboard needed replacing and he would order the part. He came back, replaced the part and it still did not fix the problem.I called again to complain so they sent another service man out and he said the drying air vent may not be working. They came back out to replace it weeks later because the part was on back order. Wonder Why??? I still have to dry the utensils every time I run the dishwasher. The interior walls of the dishwasher are wet even after running through the drying cycle. Either this dishwasher is a lemon or Whirlpool is selling a dishwasher that does not dry to the consumers!!! So BEWARE!!!

Soon after light control circuit board had to be replaced. Next light control had to be recalibrated. Now, with the unit being approx. 1 yr old, rust spots are appearing on freezer door. I purchased a 29 cu ft Whirlpool French Door refrigerator (WRF990SLAM) Feb, of 2013 from Lowes and have had nothing but problems since I purchased it. First, I noticed that the fridge sounded louder than normal. Then a few months later, ice started building up in back of the fridge. Then the most craziest thing ever started happening, the water dispenser started randomly shooting out water. Lastly, the ice maker takes forever to make ice. Still to this day, Whirlpool has yet to fix the problem. Funny that the technician said that theyve received a lot of complaints regarding the same issue for this model...so, I say you should be able to fix it then or replace my fridge. I have a 2yr extended warranty which states if they cannot fix my fridge after 3 attempts then they have to replace it. They refuse to honor that. Whirlpool and Lowes are full of crap!!! Whirlpool doesnt care at all that their products are crappy and their service is bad. They sent me a survey asking how do I like my product and I informed them of my issues and they sent me a response to purchase an extended warranty. Now, if they really reviewed the surveys, they would see that I have an extended warranty for 2yrs but regardless of that what about the issues Im having with my fridge? Do you not see my comments? If you didnt care you shouldnt even bother asking. Lowes pretended to care and made me believe they were going to replace my fridge but then sided with Whirlpool and said that they have to make 3 unsuccessful attempts to fix the fridge but each attempt has to be 30 days apart. Thats a bunch of crap because its been 6 months and my fridge still has not been fixed or replaced!! I have a Samsung side by side that I bought a year before Whirlpool and never had a problem with it. I bought it from Home Depot also, along with a stove microwave and dishwasher. I will be sticking with Samsung and Home Depot from now on!

In 2007, I purchased two 30 gal. Whirlpool Flame Lock water heaters (Model: FG1F3030T3NOV) from Lowes for two different homes that I own. I started having trouble with one of them after about two months. I replaced the thermocouple several times, with each one working only about a month. After that, Lowes replaced the complete burner assembly and that, so far, fixed the problem. Now, the second one has (1 Oct 11) gone out. The local Lowes told me that they are out of the burner assembly for this water heater. I called them this evening and was told that they didnt know when they would have the part, but to call back about every other day to see if they had received the burner assembly for this water heater. About five years ago, I purchased a top load Whirlpool Cabrio washer and matching dryer. For the past couple of years or so, this washer gets out of balance every spin cycle. It sounds like a mac truck running through my house. At this time, I do not have $300-$400 to buy a warranty when I feel that this problem is so widespread (via internet complaints) that Whirlpool should fix this problem. I replaced a perfectly working 13-year old Maytag washer simply because my dryer went out. I have contacted customer service with no results. I recommended this washer to my neighbor about a couple of years ago and now I am sorry I did. Little did I know that three years in there would have to be a repair. As you know, this isnt a bottom of the line cheap washer, therefore, I wouldnt expect it would be acting like one after this period of time. I asked Dave who at Whirlpool cared and basically, he had no answer. I told him that I would expect a company as large as Whirlpool to have people who have the job of searching the internet to see what people are saying about the company and if they did, they would know this was a problem with these washers and would initiate some sort of recall. This is such a bone of contention at my house that I wish the thing would just die so I had to go buy another (and trust me it wont be a Whirlpool). But rather, I get to listen to my washer thrust throughout my house every load I do.

On November 1, 2011, I purchased the Whirlpool Estate washer (model # ETW4400XQ) from Wholesale Appliance in Charleston, SC. The first time I used it I knew something wasnt right when both the regular and so-called gentle cycle agitated at an incredibly fast speed. It is damaging my clothes. I would have to stand by the machine and stop it after a couple of minutes so it wouldnt ruin the clothes. The more I thought about it, I decided that the repairman wasnt right. I called Whirlpool customer service and they sent a different repair service. He also said that he couldnt do anything to make it slow down as it was programmed by a computer inside and he could not change it. I went to the dealer, Wholesale Appliances, and they said there was nothing they could do as far as giving me a refund or a discount on a better machine. The setting on the washer clearly says gentle cycle.” Well, the whole world knows that does not mean beat the clothes to death as fast as possible. Can you make any suggestions? Thanks.
