The Whirlpool Quiet Partner II is a horrible dishwasher and should have never made it to a store to be sold. We have had the dishwasher for 4 years and about 6 months ago it started shutting off minutes after it was started. We would have to press the Cancel Button and try it again several more times prior to it finally completing the wash. After contacting our home warranty for help the tech said it is not worth fixing and will only give us a SMALL amount towards a new dishwasher.

There seemed to be an issue with the Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Pump. If a button comes off from your clothing or snap, etc., it gets trapped in the washer pump, causing it to crack and leak. Whirlpool on warranty only allows for one free change and anything after that costs $300.00. This is going to be the third time we are having problems with this and it is becoming, economically, a struggle for us. We have checked every button and snap to make sure they are fastened tightly, as well as any other type of items that may fall off in the wash and become trapped in the pump causing it to crack and leak. These pumps were poorly made and Whirlpool needs to be more aware of this problem rather than telling the customer that they are not aware of the situation.

I bought the Whirlpool gas water heater less than 1 year ago from Home Depot. It does not work. The pilot light will not spark to ignite the gas. Customer service is never available when you call, you get a message machine. Going forward, I will never buy a Whirlpool product and I will recommend friends and family to boycott Whirlpool. The 6-year warranty is worthless. You cant rely on the warranty. You cant rely on the water heater. You cant rely on Whirlpool to stand behind their product. The water heater is junk.

Bought this machine June 23, 2016. First use, I called Lowes where I purchased it to say there is something wrong as it makes a grinding noise. I was informed that is normal for agitatorless machines. I asked if he could hear the noise, and he said yes, thats it. So I disconnected thinking, Wow, who makes a machine in todays technology that is so loud you think something or someone is in serious pain?! Now am at the point where I want this design in pain out of my house! Going to Lowes today to try and talk rationally for a complete refund so I can purchase an LG or Samsung which is what I should have done originally.

We purchased our 4 French door refrigerator on 1/22/15. It started making a loud noise, like an air compressor. It continue to get louder and louder over a period of a couple of days. Called the dealer where it was purchased and a repairman was not available for another week. When the repairman showed up and diagnosed the problem which was a leak in the freezer causing ice and the fan to hit the ice, they were not equipped to fix that type of problem. We were advised to call Whirlpool consumer dept. which we did, and was advised they would send out another repairman and would be another week. Have had to move food and freezer items out of refrigerator. Two and one half weeks and no solution. Five month old refrigerator that is not usable. Very disappointed in product and service.

I bought a front loading Whirlpool washer a few years ago after having my old top loading Kenmore for 25 years. It seemed okay, but I did always have to leave the front door open and it always smelled musty, which was of some concern. My clothes never smell totally fresh. The biggest current problem is that several months ago it started with a failure code, alternately would stop without draining, wouldnt fill, or wouldnt drain, and ultimately ended up flooding my basement. So we called for service and they replaced a sensor and said these machines seem to have a lot of service issues with sensors blowing and motors dying. So I paid them that time. Now its a month or two later, failure code again, calling for service one more time. But if it costs too much I will join the legions of dissatisfied Whirlpool customers and will switch to an upright competitors brand.

I bought a Whirlpool Gold refrigerator in 2010 from Lowes. Within months it had a Freon leak and Lowes had to replace it. I had bought the extended warranty. In 2011 a part had to be replaced twice due to excessive noise. Then the freezer got frost buildup on a coil in 2012 and again in 2014. I called Whirlpool and asked if they would pay for my next 3 year warranty. They said no, it was my responsibility after the first year. I would never buy a Whirlpool product . Do research, Whirlpool makes several brands.

After only 6 months of use, the cooktop light bulb burned out. When I tried to replace it, the glass part of the bulb separated from the base. The bulb is screwed in so that the base faces away from the front of the microwave. With the small cavity and the backward installation, it will be impossible to remove. Now I have no light and dread how much a service call will be. The unit was installed by a contractor prior to our purchase of the house and it is now out of warranty.

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer combo. Recently, I have learned that the washer has a very common problem with the water pump. I have read amazing amount of complaints about this problem and apparently the company has nothing to say about this. The cost for parts and labor for replacing this pump is about $400.00, almost half the cost of the unit. This is unreal!

We purchased this Whirlpool refrigerator at the end of July 2018. At the beginning of November 2019 all the interior lights went out at the same time. We called the store where it was purchased, and they instructed us to call Whirlpool. Because a year had passed, they were not willing to do anything other than put us in touch with someone who could service the refrigerator. We already know the repair will cost over $200. That does not include payment for the service call or the labor. At almost the same time we purchased a new Whirlpool microwave. We have also had problems with that. My advice is to stay away from Whirlpool products if you want something that will last longer than a year.

Whirlpool W8RXEGMWQ01 leaks - It looks like the seal is not tight around the freezer box. They blamed it on my floor but I think its because the door sags. The door needs to be lifted about 1/2 to fit snugly into the freezer box opening. They came out three times but couldnt fix it, then they said it was my fault. Then I finally gave up.

On 02/25/13 we purchased a Whirlpool Gold Series side by side (French door) refrigerator with an ice maker at the cost of $1,850.00. In April of 2014 the ice maker stopped working and the freezer at the bottom would not freeze food. Luckily for us it was still under warranty and was repaired. At the time of the repair, the repairman (associated with HHGregg) told us that the refrigerator should have been replaced since the cost of the repair was more than the fridge itself. Now July 20th, 2015, the same issue has surfaced. Again the ice maker will not work and the freezer wont freeze. I would not recommend this product or if you do pay the extended warranty.

Model no. WTW4950XW is a piece of pure junk. Bought this machine 2yrs, 4 months ago. I just replaced it and to be sure not with another Whirlpool. The machine went out. Just quit. Nothing on control panel (computer). Didnt call for service tech as this machine has been crap since I bought it. Tried to return it but couldnt after I first used it. It would only give hot water on 2 cycles and that was on bulk or delicate. The regular cycle would only give warm but actually it was cold. Not enough water for 6 pieces of small clothes on regular. More water on delicate. Didnt wash very well. Clothes were not really as clean as they should have been. I used to only buy Whirlpool appliances but have now switched. They are bilking the consumer with subpar machines.

We have owned the Whirlpool Quiet Partner II for about 2.5 years. We purchased this from our local Lowes store (on sale). For the first few months, everything was fine. Then, the dishwasher stopped completing a full cycle and left the dishes somewhat dirty. I found online that I could reset the controls by pressing heated dry-normal-heated dry-normal quickly. When the cycle starts, I press cancel and then set the cycle I want and it will do it correctly. I do this every time I wash the dishes since I dont know when it will decide to stop working (wasting water and soap to redo). Now, the dishes are not drying and water collects on the ceiling of the tub. I saw this after a smell was coming from the tub (like mold) and when I looked up at the top of the tub, I saw water droplets hanging there and mold forming around the sprayer and back of tub. I have to wipe the ceiling dry now or just run vinegar through it often. I cant see paying someone to come out since service calls start around $70 just to come to my home. I did look at reviews for the dishwasher before buying but I wished that I had seen this site first. I would not ever recommend this dishwasher to anyone!

In 2005, I purchased a Whirlpool front-loading automatic washer for $700 plus. The machine had to have repairs on it several times at my expense. Then in 2010, I had to replace it and spent another $700 plus on the same type of washing machine. Whirlpool would only discount $100 of the cost. The second machine three years later is now also needing repairs. I spent a total of over $1,400 in 7 years on two washing machines not including repairs and parts. It also took forever to find the parts, so I went without use of a washer for one month. I called customer service and said they couldnt do anything for me the second time around with them. I will never buy another Whirlpool ever! You would think a company would care about their customers but they dont. They make their stuff cheap and charge an outrageous price.

We've had a of Whirlpool washer and dryer for well over 8 years now. The only thing we've had done to it during that time was to give it a "tune up". That was done by a friend and only took a half hour or so. I don't know exactly what he did to it but the "tune up" didn't require any parts. In fact, when my friend was finished with his version of a tune up, it was as if it were turbo-charged and our clothes came out cleaner than ever. The washer runs quietly, as far as washers go, and the capacity, washing options, etc. are perfect for a washer that gets a ton of usage.

My elderly mother purchased a Whirlpool Washer Mode Number WTW4955HW1 in November 2020. The washer has had nothing but problems. It leaks, vibrates and moves on the floor. My mother called Home Depot to see what she needs to do, and they said once they deliver the product it is out of their hands. Had our first service call in May 2021 by an authorized service and he said they should sell this on eBay. It is a horrible product, he said there is nothing he can do. Had a second authorized service in June 2021 and they said we needed a new tub which they ordered, and he said this will take up to 2 months, they also said to do only small loads and only use the deep-water wash and deep water rinse. After the technician left the agitator now comes apart. Would not recommend this product to anyone and I would never buy anything at Home Depot because they do stand by the products they sell.

For many years, I have worked on and tested water heater thermocouples. I have a lot of experience with this. I have checked around many of the wholesale supply houses to find a simple part needed for this brand/manufacturer appliance. Johnstone Supply, a national wholesale distributor, Grainger, etc. cannot get these parts. You must call Whirlpool and wait on the phone and give the operator the full story about what you found and how you tested the water heater only to be told you dont know what you are talking about. I was told that if the pilot lights and stays lit for even several minutes, that it is not the thermocouple but the gas valve and they will not sell me the part and recommend either I purchase a whole gas valve assembly and revised thermocouple or they would not sell me anything. Then I got told that I am on a waiting list to be called for availability of the parts at some time within the next 24 hours. Or just buy a new water heater from us with a warranty. Really? This is why you should not even have wasted your time with these people and move on to a better future. I asked,Can I purchase a box of thermocouples for this type of water heater with a left hand thread? The answer to this was, No, we will need the serial # for each unit that has had any part put on it. Move on, I say. This was a big waste of time by me, the plumber, and my customers happiness.

I thought I would research Google to see if others were having the same problem. I was VERY disappointed to see all of the same issues others were having with this high end washer. I bought a Cabrio Washer and Dryer around January 2015 at Lowes. After going through the worse service imaginable, the washer was like pouring salt in the wound. I like the dryer fine, but months later, Im still unhappy with the washer. While it washes OK, it takes forever to wash a load. Most of the time, it does not spin the clothes out enough. There is no way to just spin again. You have to go through a rinse/spin cycle and you may or may not get lucky with a sufficient spinning. Why cant they just have a spin cycle and why does it have to take so long to wash a simple load of clothes? I have bought many Whirlpool appliances, but this is my last ever.

I bought a Whirlpool water heater in 2009. I paid $588.46 at Lowes. Turns out it is in a class action lawsuit for faulty thermocouple. I was given a coupon from Whirlpool for 2 new thermocouples as part of the class action lawsuit. The thermocouple goes out on it every 1-3 months. You never know when youre going to have a cold shower getting ready for work in the morning. I literally could have bought a new water heater for what Ive spent on thermocouples the last few years. The last two times it went out, I had to replace it twice within 1 day. Im sick of replacing it and have decided to install a new hot water heater. We had the unfortunate experience of purchasing a Whirlpool product from Lowes. During Memorial Day weekend we came home to a freezer full of defrosted meat. After having to throw away 1/3 of a steer that we purchased from a local 4-H students project due to the temperature of the meat and not knowing how long it had been at that temperature. I called Lowes and they said there was nothing they could do for me since the freezer was over 1 month old. It was right at 2 months. (Purchase date - failure date). They advised me to call Whirlpool directly and gave me a number to the warranty technician. The warranty technician came and immediately found the problem. The defrosting connector was not plugged in when it was manufactured. Clearly a manufacturer issue. I called Whirlpool to find out how much of my over $1500 of meat they would cover. They told me they would not cover any of the loss. Then they offered me a 1 year extended warranty for free for my Inconvenience. What a slap in the face. Why would I need a warranty or even a freezer for that matter since I no longer have anything to put in it. Needless to say I will no longer purchase any products from Lowes or Whirlpool.

I feel that at the end of the day I do owe Whirlpool a good feedback. Our top load washer stopped rinsing so I checked the clutch, agitator dogs and coupler which all looked brand new. So I thought Id take the trans apart and after pulling the plastic agitator out I noticed the tub had completely rusted in half! The tub dropped down about an inch. The agitator would spin but the tub just sat there. Now came the difficult part. I told them I was quite sure about my diagnostic that it needed a new tub and told them I could send them a video (I even posted a video on Facebook and Twitter). But they said they would have to send a man out at $180 to make sure! After several days of back and forth conversations, someone at Whirlpool finally saw the video and agreed to send us a new tub. I havent gotten it yet but have heard through the grapevine that these tubs were supposed to be replaced if rusted because of the quality of metal used? So other than pulling a few teeth and needing to replace the tub, our washer has been a pretty good machine.

I purchased this Whirlpool Gold Series Refrigerator WRF990SLAMCO in 2012 and it cost me $2400.00 from Lowes. Worst purchase I ever made!!! I will never again purchase or recommend a Whirlpool product. I paid for extended service agreement from Lowes. Before the first year was over, ice was forming on the inside roof of the refrigerator and the whole cooling system/grid needed to be replaced. Then the cooling system went out, followed by the ice maker (PS the ice bucket container was rusted within the first year), then the whole electrical panel on the front of the refrigerator where the ice/water dispenser is.For the last three weeks I have had water leaking out of the top of the refrigerator adjacent to the water filter. My home warranty wont cover. It is a $400.00 repair to replace the circuit that attaches from the water filter. I called Whirlpool 2/14/2017 to complain about the product. She tells me that there havent been any complaints logged about the refrigerator. Seriously??? Read your reviews! The gal on the phone offered a discount to purchase a NEW PRODUCT! Are you serious??? I installed my new water heater in 2012. Within 3 months, it was not producing hot water. When I called, a helpful person at the Whirlpool warranty line told me it was because there was too much cold water being mixed into the hot water coming from the tank. I hung up... Called again and was told that they would be able to get someone in 2 weeks out to my house to check it. I told them that was not acceptable. I hung up... I called Lowes, where I bought it. The person on the other line finally, after more than 1 hour, was able to get a repair person out there within 2 days. I had to pay the fee to have the guy come look at my hot water tank, and tell me that he hated Whirlpools. He called Whirlpool, 3 times; he was hung up on 2 times. He explained what had happened was I had a hot water leak, that it probably it was overloaded, the thermostat control everything else was fine. However, that I had installed the heater myself not a professional. Therefore it was not up to NATIONAL code; therefore, Whirlpool refused to honor the warranty. So, short version, in order to get the tank repaired, I was supposed to spend an additional $300-$400 to bring the heater up to code for them to honor the warranty. What you ask made my heater out of code? It is outside in my utility room, and the flue was cut to fit and the OUTSIDE vent pipe was not above the roofline. It didnt matter that it is not in an enclosed space, that this was nothing to do with the reasoning the thermocouple went out.I simply turned up the heat, so far so good. Will I ever buy another Whirlpool? No. I have a Whirlpool fridge bought before the hot water tank situation. The ice maker went out within 6 months of purchase. When I called to have it repaired, the service guy stated he hates Whirlpool. The piece he had to replace was plastic that was replaced with a metal piece that should have been metal to begin with.

My agitator-free washer began tearing small holes in my clothing and sheets
My agitator-free washer began tearing small holes in my clothing and sheets about one year after purchase. I contacted Whirlpool and they sent out a service person, who ran a diagnostic test on the washer and said it was fine and I should learn how to wash clothes and load the washer, etc. The barrel of this washer has little holes and I believe that when it spins the clothing, some pieces may stick in one of those holes causing tearing. The service person also told me that my clothes were old. I guess that means this washer is not for washing old clothing. The tears in my clothing are in places that are very unlikely to tear, like the back of my jeans behind the calf of a leg, about half way up from the ankle. There are holes in my tee shirts at the bottom of the back. Even if I were a smoker, which I am not, I would not likely burn holes in those areas. Whirlpool obviously does not want to accept responsibility for this problem, even though there are many other people having the same problem with this type of washer.

We purchased 2 Whirlpool Cabrio washing machines in 2011. Both required service calls in June 2015. After 3.5 years, the repair company diagnosed that the Whirlpool Cabrio model number WTW7800XW2 bearing needed to be replaced for an estimated $650.00 and recommended that we purchase a new machine. The other machine was spewing water out of the side of the machine. The repair person took the machine apart and could not duplicate the problem.

Ive never considered writing a complaint before, but feel it is necessary in this situation. I have had my Whirlpool refrigerator since November, 2007. It has worked great until this past April when the freezer began to overfreeze, cause frost and ice to build up. I have had Whirlpool Factory Service out to repair the unit twice a month since April with still no resolution and the appointments are getting harder and harder to get someone to come out in a timely fashion. I called on September 1st and the closet appointment is September 15th. They werent even able to book the appointment when I called. I was told someone would call back within 3/4 days. When I didnt hear back today, I called to find out an appointment was set.Ive called the Resolution Team to obtain back records of service but havent been successful in receiving a phone call or email. I havent received all of the follow up emails after service which is frustrating since there have been two technicians that have come out for repair and were not provided any history on the unit. If I had the follow up emails, I would be able to share that information with them.I contacted Customer Service to find out what I can do in regards to the issue I am having and was told its best to stay with the service provider that I began with since they are familiar with the issue. I would imagine if they are familiar with the issue that it should have been fixed by now. Ive also sent a response card back to Whirlpool Home Appliances at the Survey Response Center and havent heard anything from them either. When I called to follow up there wasnt anyone that could point me in the right direction to obtain answers. They were able to provide me with the mailing address for Consumer Affairs though. Ive been told numerous times that if it gets to a point it costs too much to fix they will replace the unit. Im not sure when that decision is made. I have an extended contract and will extend it again in October when it expires. I just want the unit fixed or replaced. Its been since April with the same issue. Very disappointed consumer.

We purchased a KitchenAid KFIS29PBMS00 in August of 2013. By March of 2014 it had stopped freezing and producing ice. Sent out a technician (mind you each technician has to come twice, once to diagnose and then to repair). They determined that all of the panels and ice maker needed replaced. Did so with no resolution. Placed another call. This technician determined that the compressor was bad. Installed a new one on April 10th. The fridge worked for 30 days. Stopped freezing and producing ice. Placed the 3rd service call. Was told that the new compressor was bad. Technician showed up on June 5th to replace it but did not have one with him. He was told by Whirlpool that they had discovered a wiring problem and that if the Serial number begins with K322 -K335 yours is one of them. We are K324. He ran a serious tests and contacted Whirlpool. I was told it is not in Whirpools hands. LUCKY ME NOT. It is now June 19th, I have made 2 additional calls to KitchenAid after not hearing anything back was told that I was in the process of receiving a new fridge and that I would get a phone call. After nothing I called back again. After 47 minutes I was transferred to a Supervisor. According to her while we were on the phone, she ordered a new refrigerator. No upgrade, compensation or a care in the world for the consumer. I will NEVER purchase a Whirlpool appliance again. I expect to have to call back again.

After only 14 months of light use, the magnetron in my over-the-range Whirlpool stainless steel microwave failed. The cost to repair was $350. I paid $450 for the whole unit upon purchase. I wrote to Whirlpool with documentation and got a voicemail that they were sorry, but the 12-month warranty had expired. The independent repair person said it is the Korean manufacturer of the magnetron that is the problem. He is replacing units all over town on all kinds of models Whirlpool is involved with, including KitchenAid. Whirlpool needs to get their money back from Korea! I will never buy another Whirlpool product and have told them so.

Whirlpool sent me an email after I vented and it was a cookie cutter reply. They dont care that the appliance was manufactured with a faulty pad. I have a refrigerator model WRT359SFYM00 that is 4 months old. It suddenly just stopped getting cold. Trying to contact Whirlpool warranty/service department has been a nightmare. Once I did get them they spent almost a week trying to locate someone in my area to service it. I was in constant contact with the phone support person, but they kept telling me its out of my hands a special unit was making calls to find a repair person. After almost a week they informed me they could not find anyone but if I could find someone to service it they would reimburse me (max $250 labor). I spent 5 minutes and 1 phone call and I found someone. They wasted a week bumbling around with wanton disregard for their customer. Their service after the sale is deplorable. They are staffed by people who answer calls but have no ability or authority to fix a problem. Worse yet, they kept telling me it was out of their hands. If not in their hands, then whose? I assure you I will never buy another Whirlpool appliance simply based on this warranty experience. What a horrible way to treat your customers. Shame on Whirlpool!

We purchased a Whirlpool Duet Sport Front-Loading washing machine December 5, 2006. Approximately six months later, the machine would not come on! Service determined the motherboard was faulty. Since it was under warranty, they replaced it. We continued to have the same issue with turning the machine on. The technician instructed us to hold the start button down for a minute or unplug the machine to reset it. The problem persisted. Now, we are told it needs yet another motherboard. Cost - $500! We paid about $650 for the machine! (The manufacturer only offers a one year warranty on the motherboard) What incentive do I have to purchase this part? After all, Whirlpool only warranties it for a year! That in itself, tells me they cant guarantee the quality of their product.

We purchased our a model WTW7800XWO 7 years ago. Our lid kept falling down when loading and unloading. Very annoying. 3 years ago it failed to lock down which means the washer will not start. We learned to press down on the lid sides to get it to lock. Then it became loose where it connects to washer and we duct taped it to make it work. We put up for that for a year before having a repairman attach a new lid. 1 year later it did the same thing... And we put up with it hoping it wouldnt totally fail. Today it failed. Since the 1st repair cost 250.00 we decided that we will get a new washer rather than spend another 250.00. We will go with American made Speed Queen. We have had Whirlpool appliances since we were married 50 years ago.

I bought a Whirlpool fridge in 2014 and started having problems a year late
I bought a Whirlpool fridge in 2014 and started having problems a year later. It was making really loud noises and the fridge part wasnt working. All the food was warm. Of course there is no warranty on it after one year. I called a repairman and he said that the doors dont seal properly so the warm air is getting in causing condensation which freezes the engine/fan which is the cause of the loud noise. The reason why the upper fridge is warm is because the fan pushes the cold air up from the freezer, which of course wasnt working. Then I noticed that the frame at the bottom of the fridge is bending causing the freezer not to seal properly which would be the reason for warm air getting inside the fridge.

I bought a new Whirlpool French Door bottom-freezer refrigerator at Lowes in September 2010. I started seeing ice form in the bottom of the freezer compartment in July 2011. I cleaned it out, thought maybe the door had not sealed good. In a few weeks, it had formed again. I checked for leaks at ice maker. I noticed a condensate was also freezing on the back wall. I called Whirlpool in October 2011 to see what could be done, since the problem began before warranty had expired. (The warranty expired in September.) I was told by 3 different Whirlpool reps that they would not cover any of the costs of repair, but they suspected it was the auto defrost system and they would be glad to line up a repair person. Most of my appliances over the last twenty years have been Whirlpool, and I have had good service out of them other than a microwave that had a recall and that Whirlpool repaired. I was shocked that Whirlpool would not back up their product any better than this, especially since it is one of their higher-end models. Im not sure why Whirlpool has a customer service (or disservice) line to call. They were very uninterested in helping me. I can call my own repair person. I was insulted by the manner that the helpline personnel spoke to me. My experience has convinced me to try a different brand other than Whirlpool for all my future purchases.

I purchased a built in black stainless-steel Whirlpool refrigerator in June and took delivery in September 2017. It quit making ice in December and I was told to replace the water filter. So, I did - still no ice. Fast forward to May 2018 still not making ice so finally got repair person out under warranty. He could not figure it out so reset it and said to wait 24 hours and see if there is ice. There was no ice. AND in the morning the whole unit was not working - lost all my food in the fridge and freezer - NOT covered by warranty. A few days later a different guy comes and says the guy that was there is an idiot and no longer with the company. Again, this guy can’t figure out what the issue is between himself and the Whirlpool tech on the phone so he does his thing and gets the fridge on again. Still no ice. Fast forward to 6/20/18 repair guy has been out 3 times and not been able to figure out the issue between his knowledge and Whirlpools team on the phone with him. At one point it worked for a few days and then died again and AGAIN lost all food in fridge and freezer - NOT covered under warranty. As of today even though I have not had a fridge since 5/10/18 and they won’t be back until 6/28/18 and they are just shooting in the dark on the repair cause they never have figured out what the problem is Whirlpool will not replace the unit until this attempt fails. If this attempt fails then they will review/recommend replacement of the unit which will take 2 weeks. That means that Whirlpool is OK with the consumer being out of a refrigerator for almost 3 months or more, losing time and money at work to meet with the repair person multiple times, having spent thousands of dollars on the unit and losing hundreds of dollars’ worth of food. Not to mention the inconvenience and cost of not having refrigerator for a family with a working mother, 2 teenagers and a 90 year old grandmother/great grandmother. But, hey it’s the way the warranty works right?!

Bought a Whirlpool Cabrio. Noticed it was getting really loud less than a year into owning it. Called while it was under warranty. The tech said it was fine. Within the next year and a half it got so loud, you cant hear anything else in the house while it is running. Now it is leaking from the tub seals and the bearings are going out according to two service techs I have had come look at it. They say it is more expensive to fix than the washer is even worth. This is due to the parts that would be used to fix it are the same cheap Whirlpool parts that were put in it in the first place. They both said that these are not good washers and commonly go out about a year and half to three years old. I have never noticed a reduction in my water bill and have had this piece of junk since 4-25-13. There is NO short cycle on this junk machine. There is an odor to my towels - like they are musty - after I dry them and use them. I use Tide HE detergent and clean the washer with Affresh (you shouldnt have to clean a washer). I had a Whirlpool oven for 14 years. It worked great and the control board burned up during the cleaning cycle. I purchased a new whirlpool oven that did not have an exposed bottom heating element. It takes way too long to preheat and if during baking, you need to change the temperature, it starts preheating again and the displayed temperature is lower than the original temperature that was set at the beginning; and it takes too long for the oven to reach the new temperature. This appears to be the result of the bottom heating element being hidden. Heating and maintaining a consistent temperature is far more important than being able to clean the bottom of the oven especially when this is a self-cleaning oven.Updated on October 20, 2015: This is an update on my last review. I was cooking a cake at 350 degrees and when the designated time was up, I opened the door to check for doneness. The cake needed to cook a little longer, so I closed the door and the temperature immediately went to 300 degrees and started preheating again which of course caused the oven to get too hot for the cake I was baking. Who is designing these ovens??? Certainly not a person that cooks on a day-to-day basis. I will never buy a Whirlpool oven again.

I purchased the machine December of 2010 from Lowes along with the matching dryer. I also purchased an extended warranty. A year ago July the lid on the washer broke at the hinges. I contacted the warranty provider and was told that the repair would not be covered under warranty and the damage was operator error. I purchased a new lid for approx. $250. One year later the replacement lid broke in the same location. I have tried to get a response from Whirlpool no response. I contacted Parts Select and inquired about changes that should have been made to correct the lids. He was not aware of any changes but did advise that the part had a new number which he indicated probably meant a design change. I ordered a new lid just under $250. New machines have a metal frame around the glass instead of the plastic frame which keeps failing. The springs that hold the lid in the upright position are so stiff I can hardly move them by hand. I am very disappointed in Whirlpool quality and consumer support. I will not purchase any more Whirlpool products.

WOW!!! After reading all of these reviews Im wondering why I didnt see these sooner before I bought my POS Whirlpool fridge! Had our fridge a little less than 2 years and the freezer just does not keep anything cold anymore. Stopped making ice and everything in the freezer started to defrost. We noticed this one day when our ice cream was runny... Yuck! So we looked around online for troubleshooting. We took out the drawers and the back panel... There was a huge chunk of ice right before the coils. The coils themselves were not frosty and we thought that might be a problem, but we didnt know. So we thought this might be the problem. So we took a hairdryer and melted the big chunk of ice. After we did that we then noticed the coils started getting frosty again but not consistently or evenly across all of the coils. I dont know if this is good or not??? So now Im going to purchase a thermometer and see if the actual inside of the freezer is getting up to the correct temp. After reading all of these reviews on here Im thinking Im screwed!!! We also called Whirlpool and they basically said... oh well not our problem. WHAT A ** COMPANY! I will never buy another Whirlpool product again... Even if they offered me a free one I dont think I would take it.

I am having the very same problem with my french door stainless steel Whirlpool gold refrigerator. Water pooling in the bottom of freezer, freezing into a solid sheet and then leaking onto the floor. It is less than 2 years old. Apparently, this is a significant defect in this problem seeing how so many people are having the same problem with the same fridge. Has anyone reported to BBB? Im thinking class action lawsuit. Im getting ready to have to repair my kitchen floors as a result of this defect. I will be talking to my brother-in-law attorney about this and will post his response/recommendation. Whirlpool should stand behind their product and make this right.

The wife and I are retired and when it came time to purchase a new washer, we thought we would spend the money and buy top of the line so it would possibly outlast us. So we went to Lowes and spent $1000.00 plus on a Cabrio. Within the first year, the control board went bad, replaced under warranty, now no matter how little or much of a load the wife puts in this piece of crap, it goes off balance!!!Of course as previously stated, customer service doesnt give a crap because we also saw no need for an extended warranty having made such a large investment in a washing machine that we thought was built with a high standard of quality, SHAME ON US, SHAME ON YOU, WHIRLPOOL!!! You have lost a customer who has been buying your products for a long time but will never buy another and will be warning everyone we can to do the same.

As a busy mom with 11 children, I needed a refrigerator that could stand up to the demands of my family. This refrigerator is great and meets my needs, but could use a few improvements. The side refrigerator shelves are not on very sturdy. When my daughter removed a jar of mustard, the shelf came off the door, fell onto the floor and broke. This could be solved by improving the gripping strength (increase depth) of the refrigerator door shelf holders. Additionally, the sliding freezer shelf is always crooked and has to be manipulated into place. This is most problematic when the freezer shelf is full. The freezer is not smudge-proof, but clean up is easy with a damp towel.

Whirlpool Refrigerator model #GI6FARXXY0 - Bought this refrigerator at Las Vegas Store #3305 Home Depot, 12/07/2012. July 2014, the ice maker stops working. I replace it with another Whirlpool ice maker and that one stops and leaks water from the dispenser all over my floor. Im on my 3rd ice maker and its not working! I have no warranty but still...a refrigerator should last longer than this at these prices. Im trying to research problems with this refrigerator and it looks like now the refrigerator model has been discontinued! Cant find anything on it. I paid close to $1,800.00 and it lasted 1 year 1/2? Its turning into a money pit. My question is... after looking at all of the complaints concerning ice makers and water leaks on Whirlpool refrigerators... why hasnt Whirlpool addressed this problem with a recall?? Obviously, these ice makers are faulty even the ones you replace them with. The repairman told me there are no warranties and they would not take returns on them. Whirlpool knows there is a problem and doesnt address it. Consumers should be protected from businesses that know of problems and refuse to take care of them with customers. They are still selling faulty Whirlpool ice makers??? I paid extra to have a working ice maker and expected it to last more than a year and half for the price of this French Door, bottom freezer, refrigerator did. The doors look terrible as they do not clean nicely and leave streaks. From the looks of some of these complaints, this may only be a beginning of problems with this appliance. Totally disappointed in this product. I know I wont be looking at any more Whirlpool products. Im disgusted with their faulty products and no accountability. If theres a recall, count me in!

I bought a Whirlpool front loading washing machine 5 years ago, which has given me constant trouble. The computer on the machine is not working. When it is fixed, the machines makes extremely loud grinding noises and frequently the spinner does not work properly, leaving you with heavy sodden wet clothes. Whirlpools guarantee is very limited and customer service is unhelpful except to apologize for your horrible experience. You will have to pay for a technician to diagnose the problem. I will have to replace this costly machine after just 5 years of unreliable service. I would never buy a Whirlpool product again.

I purchased my water heater from Lowes about 11 months ago. The heater worked just fine for about 3-4 months then a popping noise started like a drum. I called Whirlpool and got this song and dance story with several email telling what is needed to do. Whirlpool said it was a water knock and I needed to install some devices on my water line or a tanks which cost a few hundred dollars. I called the plumber and he replace the main control valve. Same problem again so I called several other times and a plumber came and said it was my water pressure in which his gauge was incorrect. I went Lowe’s to complain and they said they would check into the situation and call me. It’s been several days and no results. Still the same problem. The Heater is a piece of trash and would not suggest anyone purchase one. It a total piece of trash and will replace with a premier heater very soon. Requesting Lowe’s replace or will take to Small Claims Court along with reviews pointed here. By the way, they want $450 to install the items on my water line - almost half the price I paid for the heater.

This year, it started load balance issues on the spin cycle; in other words, it wont spin without sounding like its going to tear itself apart. It cost $100 to have someone look at it, and was going to cost almost $400 to repair, and whats next? Update on a report filed last 4/19/2012 regarding a Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator. I originally described the issue as a fire in the relay/compressor which destroyed the compressor and relay. I eventually called Whirlpool and they agreed to send out a technician to perform a repair free of charge. The Whirlpool authorized repair person replaced the compressor and relay, recharged the system and all is working as it should be. Whirlpool covered the repair even though the refrigerator was manufactured in 2003 and I purchased it in 2004.

Our home came with an Asko dishwasher, theoretically a premium device though the experience was not the best. Anyways, had to replace it after a few years and decided to buy a Whirlpool under the assumption that if an Asko kind of sucks, being so expensive, it was not worth the money to spend big bucks on an expensive dishwasher. I could not have been more wrong! Bought a middle of the pack Whirlpool, I think we spend around $500. Complete junk. I had to use our Sears home warranty like 6 times. They replaced two times the computer board, all the sensors another couple of times, motor, you name it! Worst part is that all of the non essentials part that also broke off (wheels, and plastic pieces of the door) were not covered by Sears warranty so I had to end up using glue and all kind of contraptions to keep them together. Finally, when we decided to put our house in the market we replaced this junk with a Bosch. So far so good. Whirlpool actually never even washed properly, now with the Bosch we finally know what it means to have a dishwasher that really washes for real!

Whirlpool makes a beautiful product that does not last. I bought model WRX988SIBM in April 2015. Two years later the compressor is bad and no warranty coverage. Do not buy this model. It does not carry the Whirlpool 2-5 year sealed refrigeration warranty. Its amazing that an appliance that retails over $3K only comes with a 1 year sealed refrigeration warranty when Whirlpool offers it on other models. Be sure you know what your warranty coverage is before you buy any Whirlpool product.

We purchased a Whirlpool side by side from Lowes and an extended warranty. Immediately maybe a month the ice maker froze. Ice container in the door. Repairman said design is notorious for this problem. This was an ongoing problem. They replaced icemaker and it continued. Finally the warranty people told me it could be deemed a lemon if repaired for the same issue 4 times in a year. They deemed it a LEMON and I received a store credit for the purchase price less the warranty amount. I purchased a new LG French door. No issues and its been 5 years. If you have an extended warranty do some checking on the lemon.

We had our microwave and stove delivered in October, 2015. We had 4 deliveries of the microwave. The first two were damaged, the third needed a new fan motor and the door was not straight. They wanted to send parts to fix but we could not see spending all that money for a brand new microwave to have parts put in. I complained a lot to both Whirlpool who would not replace it and ABC Warehouse who finally agreed to replace it with a brand new one. The 4th is good. (so far). Our stove has a flaw in the glass top, the drawer doesnt close properly, and there is a piece of metal sticking out from the lower right side of the oven door. ABC says they cannot do anything about it and Whirlpool says it is under a parts warranty so it has to be repaired. I even spoke to supervisor Kimberly at Whirlpool. Got same answer. We are very angry and disappointed. As I told the Kimberly, Whirlpool got every penny they asked for. We paid for brand new in perfect condition and got a stove that needs fixing. We will never recommend Whirlpool as a Company for appliances and based on all the negative reviews Ive read, neither will a lot of other people.

I currently rent, and so when our literally 30-yr. old GE dishwasher broke down, our landlords went out and installed us a new Whirlpool Dishwasher. I was excited because FINALLY I would have clean dishes and a dishwasher that didnt leak a bucket of water all over the floor. Well, weve had it for about 6-8 months now and I have to say that I am not impressed. It is not as great as I thought itd be. First of all, my dishes still look cloudy (despite using various brands - even homemade - detergent). Second, one out of every three washes gives me still-dirty dishes (food still on them, even though I rinse before loading the dishes). Now, Im not talking about tough stuck-on, need a jack-hammer to remove food. Just normal food. Mostly it is oil, like if I had a plate that I had eaten French fries on and there was grease left behind that normal rinsing didnt remove. A new dishwasher SHOULD be able to clean that! Third, it guzzles Jet Dry liquid (or whatever rinse aid you use) like an alcoholic in a bar. I have used a BIG bottle in one month. One month. With the old 30 yr. old dishwasher, it took me around 2 YEARS to use a big bottle. And lastly, it takes F-O-R-E-V-E-R to wash a load. My old dishwasher took an hour tops - to rinse, wash, rinse, and dry - and it was 30 years old. This new Whirlpool takes 3 HOURS!!! I can literally hand-wash all of my dishes (and with a family of 4 thats a lot of dirty dishes in one day), sit them out to air dry, and take a nap and it take LESS TIME than using the dishwasher. The dishwasher has all the bells and whistles to make it look good, but trust me, if I could have had the 30-year old dishwasher rebuilt to newness, I would have begged my landlord to do that instead. Dont waste your money on Whirlpool appliances. I left another less than friendly review for my Whirlpool Cabrio washer (only 5 years old), if you care to see it. Learned my lesson, dont buy Whirlpool. So disappointed because they used to be (USED TO BE) a reputable dependable brand.

Bought in October 2014. Died December 2015. The previous Whirlpool microwave this unit replaced was 10 years old and carried a 5 year warranty on the magnetron. Imagine my dismay to find out this unit carried only a 1 year warranty on the magnetron. So 2 months past warranty expiration Im left with a dead unit. I performed elementary troubleshooting. The unit has a fuse on the 120 Volt input. But the unit must be disassembled to gain access to the fuse. So what SHOULD be a five minute job turned into an hour and a half. The fuse wasnt the problem - replacement fuses blew like popcorn. Fuse placement within the unit without regard for service considerations is a poor design. To their credit, Whirlpool agreed to cover the cost of repairs if I would pay for labor. I agreed. A tech came out and looked at the unit. He said that he would have to order a bunch of parts and that he would be back in contact by the end of the week. Three weeks went by. There was no call from the tech; my messages on his voicemail generated no response. So a couple of days later I purchased a replacement from a competing manufacturer.
