I’ve had this washer since October 2018. Worst purchase ever. It does not clean the clothes nor does it put enough water in it. I’ve tried the deep water option too and it’s for sure still not enough. I don’t understand how they even thought that this was perfectly fine to sell. If I could’ve taken it back a month after having it, I for sure would. And no one will buy it because they’ve read reviews of how it’s terrible. I wasted $900 on this washer. I have the dryer also which works amazing. The washer just sucks something terrible. My husbands military uniforms always look dirty and a lot of the clothes aren’t ever wet. I’ve finally seen a picture of how you’re supposed to have clothes in there. Why in the world would you only allow barely a layer of clothes at the very bottom to be cleaned by the agitator? Why would you have this huge drum only to put not even a load in there? This was such a waste Whirlpool and I’m glad I’m not the only person who has the same issue. I will never purchase another Whirlpool washer, it’s upsetting I can’t currently get rid of this crap washer I have now.

My house was built 20 years ago, with all Whirlpool appliances; built-in microwave over the electric oven, gas cooktop, and under counter dishwasher. The oven just gave out. Everything else works fine! Let me repeat that. I have a 20 yr old Whirlpool microwave that works just fine! Well, since the oven broke, we thought, maybe its time to update all the appliances. We went to the large appliance store from which our original ones came, and were told that all microwaves are now made in China by Sharp, and are crap!! Wed be lucky to get 3 years out of one. My jaw hit the ground. I couldnt believe the appliance salesman was telling us this! In fact, the appliance repairman that diagnosed my oven to be unrepairable ($100 trip charge, thank you very much) didnt have much good to say about the newer refrigerators... They contain much less Freon and dont seem to hold up as well... So, I guess Ill just keep my old appliances going as long as possible! How can appliance manufacturers stay in business!

I am not pleased with my self-cleaning oven. I dont even use my oven that often and I cannot get off even the simplest of stains on the sides, top, and bottom. I have tried to clean the oven three times and the stains from pie drippings are still not coming clean. It should not be this hard to clean an oven because my last oven was so much better and it was not Aqualift. The top of the oven is also very hard to keep the burners clean and looking like new. I am very disappointed in this oven and believe that this is false advertisement to the consumers. I pride myself in keeping my kitchen looking clean but this just is not working for me!

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator (model number model ised5lvaxwq00) about 14 months ago. The icemaker would not work when delivered. I had it fixed. Several months later, it quit working. It cost $200.00 to have it repaired. The ice door stopped working. I called Alabama Power to repair the icemaker. He advised that it would cost around $300.00 to repair. We are on a fixed income and cannot afford to have it repaired. On investigation, I found hundreds of complaints about the same issue with the icemaker flap. I would appreciate you trying to eliminate this problem.

We own a Whirlpool microwave hood combination. The door started cracking where the handle attaches. Ordered a new door and installed in July 2017. 18 months in the door and the handle have both started to crack again. This seems to be a problem with Whirlpool microwaves but they wont stand behind their product. Theyll send someone out to replace it for $$$$ but they wont admit they have a flawed product. One year warranty - no exceptions. Will have to replace the microwave and it wont be Whirlpool!

We bought a new Whirlpool side by side refrigerator almost a year ago based on good reviews. There are many things that we love about it; however it has had ongoing problems and the the latest one cannot seem to be fixed despite multiple repair calls by two different repair services. The service center has been responsive and even extended our warranty but we are getting tired calling them and having repair people in our home. At what point does Whirlpool consider its appliances to be lemons and replace them?

Whirlpool® Gold® 5.8CuFt Capacity | GAS Stainless - This was not an inexpensive stove. The self cleaning oven function is a total failure. You are not supposed to use oven cleaner on the glass, it now has obscured the view into the oven. The top of the stove is very difficult or impossible to clean. The knobs are a dangerous issue. They will fall off at the slightest touch and the stainless markers around the knob are just a stick on label. The oven temperature is not accurate. The bottom drawer is completely rust spots on the inside. What more can I say. Oh I know. Whirlpool your quality is a disgrace and I want a refund.

We bought the Whirlpool refrigerator from Home Depot. The ice maker does not work. We get 2 cups of ice a day. Home Depot Told us we should get 8 to 10 pounds of ice a day. We call a repair service and they said we should get 2 pounds of ice a day. Still getting 2 cups a day. Call again and now they said we should get 64 cube of ice a day. So now Home Depot has us calling Whirlpool instead of them. Now we will have another repair company coming out. Waiting to see what they have to say.Very disappointed with Whirlpool for not backing their refrigerator. And don’t buy from Home Depot. You can’t return if you buy it. And I have a warranty on it and they have a lemon law 3 repair calls for the same thing and they will take it back. Not true. I will be calling once a week for 5 years until they get me some ice. They don’t deserve a 1 star.

I am very impressed with Whirlpool. After seeing my review, they contacted me and offered to send the parts to fix the problem with the LED lights. They sent a Whirlpool authorized repairman to my home with the understanding that since the refrigerator is out of warranty, I would have to pay him. Whirlpool also asked me to return the faulty part so they can research the problem. We are once again happy owners of Whirlpool products. Thank you Whirlpool!

I purchased this Whirlpool Aqualift oven at now bankrupt HH Gregg so my recourse is limited. I loved the look of the slide in range and the salesman raved about the quality of this appliance. First the ceramic top is a nightmare to keep clean, not mentioned at purchase. The Aqualift feature is totally useless. I use my oven on a very limited basis. Putting water in the bottom of oven does absolutely nothing to clean oven and even less on sides and oven door. I spent a substantial amount of money on this so called self clean oven and I am so disappointed in results. It does not get off even a minimum of spots, I would hate to have something actually spill over. Aqualift does not work and then you are advised to not use anything else to clean it, so what now?

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in February 2016 from Lowes. Within 3 months the freezer started frosting up and eventually wasnt freezing. I made sure the back of the refrigerator was clean of debris and defrosted the freezer. This started occurring every 2 weeks. Upon a visit to Lowes, they indicated I would need to call the manufacturer. Well, after calling about 5 times and sitting on hold over 30 minutes each time, I gave up and decided I would just deal with having to defrost it every 2 weeks.Fast forward to September 2016. I wake up to $300 in food at 67 degrees in the fridge. Mind you, Im a caterer and have a wedding to cater in a few days. So here I sit on hold with Whirlpool. The man answered the phone after 40 minutes on hold. Then proceeds to tell me there are no technicians in my area and someone would get back to me in 24-48 business hours. Unacceptable, I say. I have now been on hold for another hour while he sees what he can do. Biggest load of crap ever. He didnt bother apologizing for the loss of food, and hasnt checked in with me once. I think the guy might have put me on hold and gone to lunch. I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool appliance - and zero stars to their customer service team. This is **!

We purchased our Whirlpool Front Loading HE Washing Machine a year and ten months ago from Future Shop, and now it has failed. After paying about $100 for a service call, we were told we need to order a motor control board that will cost an additional $397 plus tax, plus installation. Because it is off warranty, this means my $1030 washing machine that is less than two years old will cost me about $680 to repair! My parents old top loading washing machine still works after 30 years. And now I notice that so many other people have had the exact same problem. Why hasnt Whirlpool fixed this issue? This is criminal! What on earth is going on here? I was under the impression that Whirlpool was a top-notch brand.

I installed this oven to replace the original Whirlpool model when it died after about seven years. Im absolutely done with this thing. My review is not about Lowes, it is about the Whirlpool Range I purchased. I purchased a Whirlpool Range in 2013. In a matter of a few weeks the drawer at the bottom was giving problems. It was still under warranty and a repairman was sent to repair it at no cost to me. Something was broke about it. The drawer is so flimsy made it is not made to hold much of anything to start with. I have to take all sorts of effort to get it to close correctly. It is just shoddy made. Then a few weeks ago a piece of the side trim on the oven door fell off. My husband got it back on and then it fell off again last night. I am not happy with this stove, it is cheap made for $550.00. It is white with a smooth cooking surface. Drawer is so shallow and wont stay on the tracks, things fall out over the back. I am not satisfied with this stove, but I have got to keep it.

I called Whirlpool’s 800 customer service line to let them know I was having a problem with this loud humming and rattling noise coming from my refrigerator because of a manufacturing defect (according to the service tech that came to my house to fix it). Apparently, the metal grid is being held by a flat mental hook which vibrates. What a loud noise. We cannot eat in our kitchen: the noise it terrible. The repairmans solution was to put a piece of rubber between the two metal pieces. It worked until he left. I told him it would start again and it did! I even let the customer service rep hear the noise and she agreed. I am in the early stages of my problem, but from what I have read I am not very hopeful. I would like to have the names and phone numbers of the people at Whirlpool who refused to help. Maybe if we would all band together and call them, they would get tired of hearing from unhappy customers and fix the problems. I am game. Anyone else?

We bought an 80 gallon lifetime warranty electric water heater. We get about 20 minutes of hot water and then cold water. Weve had 2 plumbers out and checked our system and said it has to be the water heater, but they dont want to mess with it in case it voids the warranty. Fine. We called Whirlpool and since the alarm system isnt indicating an issue, they say its not the water heater. We now have to do a diagnostic ourselves to find out if it is the water heater. What? It has a warranty! We are not plumbers! How come Whirlpool doesnt think its their equipment? Weve already had ours checked and it isnt us! I purchased a top load Whirlpool Washer and Dryer in April 2021. When it was installed I commented about how noisy it was. I was told it was because it was empty, but it will be much quieter once you put in a load of laundry. That did not make any difference. I called Whirlpool customer service and explained I had just purchased it less than a week ago and it appeared to be very noisy. I was told they could send someone out, but if they determined there was not a problem I would be charged a service call. I said the machine is not even a week old why would I be charged a service call shouldnt this be a warranty issue. Again I was told there would be a service call charge.I am completely baffled at the customer service response. This is the first and only time I called. I contacted the store where I purchased both the washer and dryer and was told it should not be that loud, this is the first time anyone has complained about the noise level and there should not be charge. Whirlpool has terrible customer service and I will NEVER purchase another Whirlpool product again because of the customer service. I have purchased numerous appliances in my lifetime and have never been treated so poorly. If I could return both the washer and dryer I would not hesitate. I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone.

I bought an adapter that I added to the kitchen pipe, drilled a few holes in my cabinets to route the hose and voila! It is small but big enough so it's perfect for me. I didn't realize it had an internal heater so I was moving the hose between hot & cold under the sink but now that I know. I will try the heater. The settings are complicated so you have to read the instructions fully. Before I read them I thought every load took 2-3 hours but they don't. I do like to use the heavy soil setting and that does take a couple hours, but if I'm in a hurry or the load is not that bad I use a shorter 50 min setting. For the drain hose I either put it out the window or put a screen in the sink & tie it to the faucet. You have to tie it down wherever you aim it because the water comes out with enough force to throw the hose. I had a couple incidents of kitchen flood before this stuck in my head, now that sucker is secured well. I intend to make a permanent drain to the pipe eventually but for now I just use window/ sink. This required a longer drain hose. For apartment use, I am very happy.

I purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer and paid for the extended warranty
I purchased the Cabrio washer and dryer and paid for the extended warranty from Lowes about 5 years ago. After about a year, the washer had problems with excessive vibration and noise. Under Lowes warranty, a repairman came and adjusted the level. He came out several more times and made other adjustments, replaced the drum, then bearings and raised the level again. He said he could not declare the washer a lemon, even though it was because they were told this was taboo. They were instructed to do whatever they could to keep the washer going throughout the life of the warranty. Now the washer stops mid-cycle and an fl or f1 error code appears on the control board. I contacted Customer Service who said I can purchase another extended warranty for over $300 or pay their repairman for the visit including parts and labor. What I paid for the extended warranty and to purchase a new one would pay for a new washer.

Purchased the fridge from hhregg in August/September 2012. Model G16FARXX. After less than three years of owning it, found out today that the compressor is shot and will have to be replaced. Replacement/repair costs are ~$900, almost as much as the fridge brand new. Chatted with customer support and then would/could not do anything. I feel ripped off. We had the refrigerator delivered in March, 2013. We noticed a leak in February 2014, only because we smelled a musty smell in our garage, and removed the rug outside the door, from the garage to the kitchen. Then we started noticing water in the garage. It was shortly after we determined it was the refrigerator. We bought this at Lowes and they use A&E, and they did not show up for the first appt. They did replace the pan a few days later while we had to replace dry wall behind the fridge. This time around (month later) we noticed the fridge/freezer was not cooling. So A&E came out and determined its the compressor. So now we threw out hundreds of dollars of groceries, and water was leaking all over the floor again from ice thawing. I believe the refrigerator has had problems all along. We have had it for one year. I think we should be reimbursed for the compressor! Thats the least Whirlpool can do after losing so much food and money spent on the wall, and all the water mess etc. I will never buy Whirlpool again, and I will never purchase from Lowes again. We always bought at Lowes, but this was a bad experience, and I get told one thing on the phone with reps and another by A&E.

Called customer (no) service and they advised that we needed to call a service tech because he has a special tool to unlock the door. I stopped by our local appliance store and the counter person told me how to open the door. Had the tech come out for $70 and it could be the lock mechanism or the control panel. It turns out to be the control panel, which costs $250 + labor and would total to around $500, give or take a little. We are in our 60s, my wife does not take in laundry and the ice dispenser was seldom used because I can sneeze ice faster than this can dispense it so I open the freezer door to get my ice.The tech and the store clerk said that these were common problems with these machines. This was a major expense when purchased. So far, the dish washer has not had any problems, but tonight might be the night. The reason we bought Whirlpool is because of the Maytag connection, now that is in the same toilet.

Whirlpool Energy Saver Dishwasher Model DU850SWPS3 was placed in our new ho
Whirlpool Energy Saver Dishwasher Model DU850SWPS3 was placed in our new home purchased in May of 2010. We just found that this dishwasher had a slow leak in the seal to the motor which has ruined our hardwood floor, subflooring and part of a laminate beam on the floor directly below the washer, plus molding from the water. The leak has been going on sometime it was not noticed until the floor became so soaked from use over a long period of time that we finally saw the leak, by accident, in the basement which we hardly access. The Whirlpool costumer service was no help and would not entertain repairing the dishwasher unless we paid due to the fact it is over the year warranty. This is clearly a defective part in their product and poor workmanship on their part. We should not have to check underneath our new appliances to determine if we have leaking problems because we cannot trust them from failing. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product and will not recommend their products to anyone.

Do not bother purchasing Whirlpool refrigerators. Bought mine new in November. The paint on the exterior has been chipping. They inform me that its a cosmetic issue and that they are not going to repair it. They told me to use touch up paint. The paint has chipped more than once and Im afraid this is going to be an ongoing issue. Its obviously a product defect (my last fridge lasted 27 years without incident). I dont do business with companies who dont stand behind the products they manufacture. These days its all about get their money and the hell with them once we do. Last time I purchase anything Whirlpool.

We bought a Whirlpool side by side refrigerator in September 2009 for $898, which was a lot then. Last fall the ice maker jammed and started dumping ice in the floor. Yesterday, we noticed that things in the freezer werent solid. After checking, we found our frozen food had thawed and things in our fridge werent very cold either. We called Whirlpool which was no help. Then we called a repair man who told us, “There was a leak in the seal system and it was low on freon. Would have to replace a compressor, evaporator and it would be better and cheaper to just buy a new refrigerator. It has just turned 4 years old. I called Whirlpool again and they said they didnt know why it went bad. I said is it a recall or just a bad refrigerator. The girl was no help at all; I kept asking to talk to a tech and finally asked for their corporate office address which she said was 553 Benson Rd., Benson Harbor, Mich. 49022. I now have to buy a new refrigerator and it will not be a Whirlpool.

This is the worst washing machine we have ever owned. We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set at Lowe’s in Loganville, GA on 04/11/2010. Today is 02/22/2013 and the transmission is shot in the washer. It began making an extremely loud and terrible noise during the rinse and spin cycle. We called a local and trusted appliance repairman, and after his diagnosis including estimate to repair the washer, it totaled over $525.00. This is a terrible washer. I will never ever buy a Whirlpool appliance again. Oh, forgot to mention we have purchased four (4) major appliances from Lowes over the past 2 1/2 years in addition to purchases for our plumbing business and wont do it again! Also, Whirlpool couldn’t care less and there is just one complaint after another for the exact same problem online.

This refrigerator is a disaster. You will never be able to leave your home for any length of time for fear of a storm putting your electricity out which turns it off and if it DOES NOT TURN BACK ON WHEN THE POWER IS RESTORED. If you happen to be away for several days you will come back to a freezer that has defrosted all over your floor and your food in the refrigerator spoiled.

I have tried setting it to heavy loads, added water, stopped the machine and redistributed the clothes, it was a total waste of money. Dark colors come out looking worse than when they went in. If I save money on water I spend twice as much on electricity because I have to wash everything twice. The store where I bought it went out of business so I have no recourse.

I purchased a Whirlpool Refrigerator in January 2014. When it was delivered it had a dent in the left side door (the door with the controls and ice-maker). I reported the problem to Whirlpool and they told me that they would send a new door and would have a third-party technician install it. About a month later, February 2014, the door arrived, after calling the technician; he came out and attempted to install the door. The door would not fit! Called Whirlpool and they told me that the refrigerators were produced one at a time and that they would have to manufacture a new door. They promised the new door sometime in May. In the meantime, I have a damaged unit and I need to store this huge box for months. The refrigerator works fine to keep the food cool and the ice and water features work well. The ice-maker is a bit noisy but it only operates occasionally.

My Whirlpool oven (Model WFG505M0BS0) stopped working - the bottom oven part (the top burners were OK), the display on top functioned normally, but no fire came on. I called Whirlpool, and then I accessed Whirlpool online and scheduled service with their official service representative - Flamingo Appliance Service ** for September 9, 2020. When the repairman arrived on 09-09-2020, he opened up the stove and checked it, and he told me that a computer part needs to be replaced, as well as the igniter, and the cost would be between $400.00 and $600.00 (I dont remember the exact amount), I told SEVERAL times, maybe its just the igniter (for which the cost would less than $100.00 AND already included in the $134.95), but he insisted that the computer needed to be replaced, I did not like the way he explained it to me, it did not make sense. After that I was planning to buy a new stove, as the repair was too high. But, I decided to try to change the igniter myself before getting rid of the stove (the igniter cost was $21.00). I just got the igniter recently, and installed it, with help from YouTube, and what do you? THE STOVE IS WORKING!!! This is fraud!!! FLAMINGO APPLIANCE SERVICE ARE THIEVES, AND BY ASSOCIATION, WHIRLPOOL, WHOM THEY REPRESENT ARE THIEVES ALSO. I shall publicize to the best of my abilities: NOT TO BUY WHIRLPOOL PRODUCTS!!! This was not a mistake!!! This is the way they rip people off!! Either by paying exorbitant amounts for unnecessary repairs, or by buying new appliances when the old ones are still good. Whirlpool Cabrio Washer Model WTW6400SW2 Serial CU0272414: I replaced my wonderful 25+ year old Kenmore washer with the Cabrio, 4 years ago. Within the first year I had to have a computer board replaced that was covered under the warranty. This last 6 months I replaced the suspension rods, was constantly showing that the load was unbalanced. Also have a LD error, long drain, probably because a sensor is bad. Today, restarted a load several times and could never complete the entire cycle. I resorted to unplugging, and starting a drain spin cycle and the washer just flooded my house. So Im done with this unit. Waiting for a class action suit. Lets get started. What type of unit should I buy now. I guess Im going to subscribe to Consumer Report before I buy another. I agree with the comments already made. My crisper drawer plastic rectangular piece just literally decomposed! It shredded into little pieces and cracked and broke, dropping one side of the draw set. I called about it - nope, not under warranty - replacement cost? Merely $150 so my drawers could be in the refrigerator. Also, because of the stress of the angle the drawer holder was when it broke, it cracked the drawer at the back - and the drawer had one grapefruit in it at the time. (Not considering replacing - cant imagine what that would cost when the little brace piece approx 14 was so expensive.) The flap - yeah, it split. I am a single person, no kids EVER in my refrigerator and I travel so much that I am barely home 20% of my days. The refrigerator gets very little activity opening and closing the doors yet the flap sliced. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN??? With any break in the seal as they called it, the refrigerator starts collecting moisture inside (and I live in the desert so we have very little moisture in our air) and drips or starts causing frost build up on the icemaker. Yesterday, once again, the icemaker stopped working. When I asked about replacing the flap I was told the entire seal needed to be replaced @ the cost of $232 PER DOOR!! Right now with just the plastic rectangular piece and the bar between the two drawers (BTW the rollers on the frame are not included with the frame purchase they announced) I have $614 in repair parts WITHOUT fixing the icemaker! Last night water was running in my refrigerator from the icemaker. I WILL NEVER BUY OR RECOMMEND WHIRLPOOL TO ANYONE EVER AGAIN. I have been a Whirlpool ONLY customer for over 45 years!!!! They told me that I had to schedule an appointment with a service person at a minimum of $100 cost to me - JUST TO FILE A COMPLAINT with Whirlpool! They only take complaints from service people submissions. I advised the Whirlpool representative to start looking for another job because if this was the way they treated lifelong customers, her job may be eliminated due to No Customers! Bought expensive fridge 2009. Now (2015) random very loud rat-tat-tat sounds lasting 5-10 seconds. Very loud. Paid for repairman to evaluate. He said it was probably compressor spring and other springs would probably soon break and would shut down fridge. Said it is very expensive to repair and it would be best to dump the fridge and buy a new one. I called the 800 number located inside the fridge. Jacob at Whirlpool listened to my story and said, Yep, it sounds like the compressor spring and the other springs will likely break. He said he can make me a one-time offer of a full repair of the compressor for only $359.65. We pay Whirlpool and they will have a local guy here come and fix it. We paid by visa. And, via email we get a document that shows we just bought a service contract. This is a surprise to us as we were told were paying to have the compressor repaired. In a few days, a call comes from local repair shop. Guy says, he will come out and check out the noise and see if he can repair our unit. We tell him the noise is intermittent and we cant predict when the noise will occur. We also tell him Jacob from Whirlpool said it was the compressor and that we paid to have it repaired. He says it doesnt sound like it is the compressor and that he cant diagnose the problem if he cant hear the noise. We tell Maytag/Whirlpool via phone we are faxing formal request for refund of our $359.65. Lady from Whirlpool says we, should get a refund in 4-6 weeks. Well, we will see.We are very disappointed in the the short life of our very expensive fridge and we are disgusted with the false and misleading comments made by Jacob of Whirlpool. He told us we were paying for the repair of our compressor and instead we get a stupid service contract. We are in the process of buying a new fridge. And no... It will NOT be a Maytag/Whirlpool!

I purchased a Whirlpool top load 8500 washing machine from LOWEs two years
I purchased a Whirlpool top load 8500 washing machine from LOWEs two years ago. I noticed that the clothes were not getting wet, clean, were coming out covered in lint, soap film and stained. It is misleading to call it a HE washer since I have to wash each load 3 - 4.5 hours. It is NOT energy efficient if you have to wash each load of clothes 3 times with a rinse. I have tried all of the tricks - changing soaps, labeling the wash as bulky, wetting the clothes to add weight... Washing clothes should not be this complicated. The clothes are sorted appropriately and washed in the right temperature. I do not understand what is staining the clothes. I put new white towels in and they come out stained (see photo)? Lowes sent out a repairman who said the machine would never clean the clothes since there was not enough water in the washing machine to wash the clothes. I tried to return the washer to Lowes but they said it was past the 30 days. Unfortunately, I purchased the appliances on a Lowes credit card so there was no recourse. I then contacted Whirlpool and was put on hold and transferred to various people before I gave up.

Updated on 02/13/2021: Company fails on customer service. My stove’s trim is rubbing off on my Whirlpool stove only 6 months old. No chemicals were ever used to clean the surface. This trim piece surrounds the controls and is not covered under warranty. An expensive cheaply made stove. Multiple attempts to have the piece replaced got nowhere. A letter sent to the head office was deferred back to customer service. Whirlpool has lost credibility and I will no longer buy their products.Original Review: So disappointed to find the paint finish coming off the trim on my 8 month old Whirlpool range. No harsh cleaning chemicals were used. Only mild dish soap and a microfiber towel. The trim, attached to the control panel on the front of the stove, is not actually stainless steel, but painted to look like stainless steel. Whirlpool warranty doesnt cover esthetics and refused to replace the trim, stating replacement would include the entire control panel and it is not covered under warranty. So be prepared to have your new expensive stove look old in a matter of months.

Recently bought a 19-cubic ft French Door Whirlpool refrigerator. Seems to work fine at this point, but the compressor/cooling system has a fairly loud swishing noise it makes off and on during the cooling cycle. According to the owners manual, this is normal. If I had known this, I would not have bought this brand. Believe me, it is loud and you can hear it from all parts of my apartment. Also, once you examine the fridge up close, it really is cheaply made. Low-grade plastics for shelves and compartments. And this was not an inexpensive product to buy. We are talking out the door paying $2,000. Sad it is American made. My parents bought a Samsung last year and it is of much higher quality than the Whirlpool I have. But so far, it is keeping the food cold. Just wish it was quiet.

We built a new home at the beach to enjoy our retirement and the builder installed new Whirlpool appliances. As far as we are concerned this was the BIGGEST WASTE OF MONEY WE HAD. Our appliances were under warranty for 1 year as usual and after 14 months things began to break. The latest is the ice maker in the French door fridge. After finding the diagnostics test online I ran the test and determined that the whole ice maker needs replaced. This ridiculous since the fridge is only a little over a year old. We even upgraded the fridge to avoid any problems. After talking to the people in our neighborhood we have come to find out that most people here have had trouble with whirlpool appliances.. I am ready to send these to the junkyard and replace them with a reputable brand (LG) that we owned before and were very happy with.. I dont understand if there is all these problems with Whirlpool products why the technical team doesnt fix the problem... Get parts from the USA NOT CHINA!!! My neighbor just told me he had the repairman at his house 7 times to fix his fridge and finally got a new one. Just got tired of the hassle and expense....

Also in less than a year the paint under the knobs totally fell off. We contacted them about that and the reply was paint wasnt covered under warranty. Obviously they used heat resistant paint on the range top because that is perfect condition even with the constant cleaning, but the angled front where the knobs are I had to sand and repaint, not a good look for the stove. They really couldnt have just used the heat resistant paint for 2 1/2 farther? Just horrible quality and worse service. On May 15, 2017, I purchased a new Whirlpool Water Heater, unknowingly made by American Water Heater Co., from Lowes (receipt attached). Model Number ES40R10-55 with a 10 year warranty. The water heater was installed using the directions in the owners manual. Upon turning on the current to the water heater after it was filled with water and all air removed from the plumbing, the module gave a code stating the top element was not working. Called the Technician Assistance Hotline and they gave me a RA number to get a new top element from Lowes. Got that on May 16 and had to call the plumber that is contracted by American Water Heater Co. to come to the house and inspect the heater to make sure it was installed correctly. The water heater worked once the new element was installed. On Oct. 3, 2017, had more issues with the module stating the top element was not working. Called the Tech. Assistance Hotline and they gave me another RA number to get another top element. On Oct. 4, got the top element and installed it. The water heater started working again. On Oct. 6, the module stated the bottom element was not working. Called the Tech. Assistant Hotline and had the plumber come out. He determined that he could not find out why it was doing this and also said that both elements were good along with the element that I removed on Oct. 4, which I still had. Since then, the module has been giving codes stating that both elements are bad and I have not had any hot water since Oct. 7. American Water Heater Co., Whirlpool, and Lowes all refuse to give me a refund for this piece of junk! All blame the other for the problems and none will take any responsibility for the water heater not working. I will never buy another appliance with the Whirlpool name and definitely will not buy anything made by American Water Heater Co. I also will never buy another appliance from Lowes as they are not willing to help me in this matter. If you do not want to experience the headache and frustration of owning a new appliance that does not work, I would suggest that you do the same!!!

We bought the Whirlpool NU50T122-403 50 Gal water heater from Lowe’s and very disappointed that after 3 years it will cost more to repair it than replace it. The Whirlpool gas water heater and our Whirlpool refrigerator have been the worst purchases ever made. Whirlpool has been unreliable in our house and the repairs and downtime have been extraordinary. We have replaced with a Rheem from Home Depot.

My dishwasher is 4 months old and is having some electrical issues. I have had to call into customer service 3 time to try to get a service call. Two of the service calls did not show up. To this Whirlpool said it was not their responsibility. From my experience Whirlpool does not care that the service calls are weeks out, or that the dishwasher does not work.

I bought my Whirlpool 50-gallon gas water heater from Lowe’s 10 years ago. After the first year, it was nothing but problem. The thermocouple was replaced so many times and there’s the inconvenience of not having hot water. Customer service sucks and they continue to send you to Lowe’s to pick up the part for free. I have 2 more years on the warranty and Im replacing it after its over! 3 days ago my water heater stopped working and now again I will replace the thermocouple. Dont buy Whirlpool products: they are junk!

We purchased an electric range model WFE371LVQ O in June 2010. This range is only used during the winter months in our vacation home. In January 2016 the oven turned on by itself. The control panel was replace. It happened again on 1/25/19. IT IS A FIRE HAZARD!! Thankfully we were home both times. The only way we got it to turn off was to flip the circuit breaker. If this would have happened when we werent home and a fire started and it killed our dogs I have no idea what I would do. Im not even attempting to have the control panel replaced again. Well be buying another brand. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. The company must have known about the issue because when we called the first time it happened, which was several years PAST the warranty period, they didnt hesitate to do the repair free of charge.

My washer is nearly 7 yrs. old. It has almost been a full-time spectator sport. Good thing its in the kitchen! Twists sheets so badly - on sheets setting - that it stops and I must undo the balloon its formed and rearrange the wet, heavy 2 sheets and 2 pillow cases. Now, it cant even finish the clean washer cycle without stopping. It seems it doesnt use enough water to do the job of washing items thoroughly. And it balks at heavy loads - which is what we bought this washer to do - blankets, rugs, quilts, etc. Two people, now only one, and two small dogs. I should have at least 10 years of service from that purchase. Repairman says $300+, and he sees it as a very common code. Build them to last or give up. Im disgusted with Whirlpool now.

This ref model # wrf736Sdam13 is less than 6 months old. The doors have never lined up. At the top is a 3/4 gap and it is 1/4 at the bottom. This is a side by side. Sometimes the left door will open on its own. If you stand to the side and look across the front, the left door sets out about 1/2. My wife and I have contacted whirlpool many times and they will not do anything. I am ready to get another ref and get what I can for this piece of JUNK. We built a new home and purchased all whirlpool appliances and do not like any of them. Will never buy whirlpool again. Very dissatisfied with all – RANGE, DISHWASHER AND THE VENT HOOD. PS, the vent hood sounds like it is crushing ice when you cut it on. Very, very DISSATISFIED with all of them.

Late on the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014, after springing a leak in
Late on the evening of Monday, January 27, 2014, after springing a leak in my 8-year-old water heater, I purchased a new Whirlpool model N50T61 replacement from Lowes. Installation went smoothly and the unit lit off fine the first time. It heated the initial tank of water rather quickly, but the next morning, I noticed the status light on the control unit was not blinking, which indicated the pilot light had gone out. I relit the pilot light, the water heater fired off and appeared to be working properly. 12 hours later, the status light was out again. I relit the pilot, but within 20 minutes, it went out again. On Wednesday, the 29th, I called Whirlpool customer service and explained to the representative what had been happening. He stated that since the status light was not blinking a code, the problem was either an air supply or venting problem, and he couldnt help me. I relit the water heater again and performed the match smoke test described in the owners manual on the vent connection. It did exactly what the manual said it should do, so I assumed that was not the problem. However, while performing this test, the water heater went out again. This time, being right there when it shut off, I saw the status light blink twice about 5 or 6 times before it quit blinking all together. The two blink error code indicated low millivolt signal from thermopile.I called customer service again and explained to the representative what the first person had told me and also told him the results of my test and that this time, I had observed the two blink error code. He asked if I had a multimeter (which I do), so he had me disconnect the wires for the thermopile, connect the meter to the wires, light the pilot and read the voltage. My meter is an old analog unit, and not capable of reading millivolts (which is what the thermopile output is), and I informed the rep of this, but he had me do it anyway. As I suspected, I saw absolutely no reading on the meter. The service rep stated that he believed the error code and decided to send me a new thermopile assembly. However, their shipping department was closed for the day and I should not expect to see the new part until Friday. This was unacceptable, but he stated that this was the only option available to me.After thinking about this situation for a while, I again called Whirlpool customer service and told the representative that I was not satisfied with the solution previously presented to me and that I wanted a return authorization to take the water heater back to Lowes for replacement. The rep stated he couldnt do that, but said that there were a couple other things I could try. He attempted to explain these procedures to me, but wasnt able to do so clearly. He stated he would email the instructions to me. As of this writing, I still have not received the instructions. In the meantime, I did some internet research and found that Whirlpool water heaters have numerous chronic problems, including the issues I was experiencing. I decided this was not a product I cared to own. I called the Lowes store where I purchased the water heater and spoke with the manager. I explained the entire sequence of events to him, and he told me to bring the water heater back for a full refund. Since my local Lowes store only sells the Whirlpool brand, I took the money and purchased a different brand of water heater from another home improvement store. Needless to say, it will be a cold day in hell before I ever purchase another Whirlpool product.

2 years ago, I bought my fridge from Home Depot and the delivery people did not leave a manual. I call to see if they could provide me one because I don’t know how to operate some parts of it. They told me they don’t send manuals anymore. She referred me to a website to download it from an online site. I told her I don’t have a computer. It would be easier if they can send me something in writing and this lady told me that they don’t. She asked- “and you come to us after two years? What have you been doing in the meantime? “And from then on she was very rude and she transferred me to another lady that was worse! I do not need this! And the fridge is very noisy. I’ll never buy Whirlpool again.

I purchased their washer, dryer, refrigerator, freezer, oven, and dishwasher. All were brand new when my home was built in 2006. Whirpool is the absolute worst home appliance company in both customer service and product. I would save my money and purchase any product other than a Whirlpool or Maytag. All of my appliances are a little over 5 years old and all have had multiple problems. Corporate takes the attitude of oh well, pay for the multiple repairs or buy new after 5 years or less. Ive never heard of disposable appliances, but Whirlpool has a full line of them! I would rate them less than 1 and just plain **!

I cannot adequately express my dissatisfaction with the Cabrio washer and dryer that I purchased couple years ago. I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. That includes Maytag; Kenmore; or Amana products. I have had nothing but problems from the start. The washer sounds like jet engine taking off in the spin cycle. I found out the washer needs new tub bearings ~ $200. The washer is tearing up towels during the wash cycle not sure what the cause is.My washer will only wash clothes in certain cycles (bulk). I keep getting error codes in normal or other cycles. The washer takes long time to fill so it times out during fill cycle. I replaced fill lines and checked for blockage, everything was clear. The washer probably needs either new motherboard or water inlet valve. Not sure which, maybe both? It is impossible to wash a load of clothes without getting the UL unbalanced load indicator. I also have problems balancing the load. I have taken wet clothes out and put them back in with no luck. It takes hours for a load to finally wash. The dryer has had its problems. I just replaced the belt tensioner on the dryer because it was making a terrible screeching sound. The noise was very annoying. I am very disappointed with quality of Whirlpool products. However, don’t worry about improving customer relations because I will never buy a Whirlpool product again. P. S. How come you have not issued product recall? There are 1,000s of similar complaints concerning the Cabrio washer. Frustrated customer.

My wife and I bought a Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer set in 2011 and now the washer has an error code of F7 E5. I spoke with an appliance guy and he says that it is going to cost up to $450 to repair it. The wash cycle does nothing, it just sits there and then it goes to the next cycle. I have grown up in a household that had washing machines that lasted many years. This is a joke. Why am I having to buy a new washer in 3 years? I dont understand. Whirlpool knows that this is a problem and they should step up and do a recall or some kind of discount towards a new machine. This is ridiculous.

Our Samsung self cleaning oven burned out. The wires in the back were burnt and brittle and its a miracle our house did not burn down. While shopping we were told the new self cleaners were so much better, not the high heat, odor etc. This Whirlpool stove does not self clean, its a joke. I have scrubbed for hours on it. It does not get any kind of grease etc. off. You need to scrub and work hours. It may take a small spill off the bottom of the stove but thats it. There is no way to get all the grease splatters off the walls etc. I hate this stove and see there was a class action law suit on it. If I would have known then what I know how it would have gone back as soon as it arrived. I plan to go looking for another stove and it will not be a Whirlpool Aqualift self cleaning.

My dishwasher was only 18 months old when the rack adjuster broke causing the top rack to collapse. I researched and was able to order the replacement part which now comes only in metal. (The original Whirlpool piece was cheap plastic.) I spent $40 for the new part and spent several hours installing it without any help from Whirlpool. Then when I tried to use my dishwasher it wouldn’t run. Repair person came out and diagnosed it with a pump assembly failure. Part alone was $222 and it was on back order. Extremely disappointed. Bought this from Lowes in 2010 with the 12 yr extended warranty. Have not been able to keep it lit. Takes 4-10 days for repairman just to LOOK AT IT and then he usually has to order a new control valve, taking another 2-4 days (have had the control valve replace 3xs). This means, my husband has to get down at eye level to try to get it to light (hes 63) & if it doesnt light on the 40th try or the cramp in his hand stops him sooner, we have to heat water on the stove, carry it through the house to the bathtub, try to get the temp not too hot or too cool, then hope that our 70 yr old bodies can get down into the tub plus get back out without falling (showers are preferable). My husband bought The best hot water heater $ could buy at our local Lowes store. Because we are getting up there in years, we hoped that this would be the best answer by also getting the extended warranty. They have had numerous repairmen out to our house (6 or 7 last count)... two different men told my husband that they would only be here a couple of minutes knowing it was not going to light for them either. Time wasted. Patience gone. Still they wont replace it because if anyone can get it to light up again, no matter how long that may take, then theres no need to replace it! They have already put more money into parts, labor & repairs than it originally cost. I was told today by the ex. warranty representative that its not considered a lemon! So how do those LOWES/WHIRLPOOL people sleep at night????

I paid $1246 for a Whirlpool glass top range. This was not a cheap model, but I wanted it as the starting point of my new kitchen. After only about a year, we noticed that the area surrounding the operation controls was turning a funny color. On closer inspection, we noticed what appeared to be something peeling off, it was paint! The area surrounding the controls, which appeared to be brushed metal, was actually painted plastic! I was furious that an appliance at this cost level was made of plastic....really, a stove top made of painted plastic? I complained and after a huge fuss they agreed to come out and replace it ONCE. Well its been just over a year since they replaced it, and guess what? It is peeling off again!I dont know what to do, as Whirlpool obviously has gone the cheap end and doesnt want to fix problems. As others have mentioned, they say that it is JUST cosmetic, and they wont cover it under warranty...now my first new appliance for my first new kitchen since 1972 looks like crap! I should have kept my old avocado green appliances - they lasted over 40 years, still worked, and still looked good (except they were green). I wont ever buy another Whirlpool appliance. For those who mentioned that their appliance would turn on unexpectedly, please check recalls....this is one of the major problems on recall. Buyer beware!!!!
