My wife and I bought a Maytag Bravos at the suggestion of a store employee at Lowe's. Since we have owned it, I have seen the reviews and the washer has been a total let down. We have experienced all the same complaints. Loud noise, door lock not working, not enough water in the drum to wash clothes, and the bearings going out and it doesn't work. NEVER will we buy a MAYTAG again. To the scrap yard I go today. Thanks MAYTAG for wasting my money. Thanks LOWE'S for recommending this garbage.

My Maytag Series 300 Dishwasher would not start. I read the reviews and took the door off (easy if you have the right tool), removed the control panel box (one screw), and cleaned the ribbon with electronic cleaner as per someone's suggestion. It started right up. This is a bad design. Would I buy another Maytag? - No way! We will see how long this lasts. There is no seal on the door to keep out humidity. Do we really need a new control panel? When this is done...I am done with Maytag!

All the washers I've had before made me choose between getting stains out or not having my colors fade. With my new Asko washer, I can buy new clothes without worrying!

Bought the xl about 14 months ago. NO LIE! Exactly 2 days after the 1-year warranty was up, the xl went down. Drive shaft and bearings. Did Maytag honor the warranty since it was only 48 hours past the expiration? Not just a no but a "why are you bothering" attitude. My brother and I are above average machine builders. We'll fix it ourselves because we could buy a new one to have it repaired. After many hours scouring the web we found the parts. Maytag didn't make a repair kit available to the public. 7 hours plus over $200 to tear it down and to clean the muck trapped at the drain. Then sand-smooth the burnt on metal where the bearings sit. All for a washing machine that sucks at washing clothes in the first place. Never ever again will I buy a Maytag.

There's nothing fancy about the appearance but I didn't buy it for display in the living room. It's a perfect fit for a laundry room and that's what's important. It's been a very reliable washer. I've had it for over a decade now and have had no repair expenses. Also, the laundry is always clean and well rinsed. I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of it. What more could one ask!

Bought a Bravos, large capacity, top load washing machine few years ago. (Purchased at a Lowe's.) Been nothing, but one problem after the other!! I hate it! NO MORE MAYTAGS FOR ME. Has required several repairs of various parts. Now again, after being repaired few months ago, something else has gone wrong. Would have been cheaper to replace a 3-4 year old machine than keep having repairs.

Have an old Estate by Whirlpool, still going, no problems, washes well. I can control the wash by adding more water, stopping it and restarting it. There is nothing like the old washing machines. I have seen and used the latest and greatest, but they cannot compete.

High end Whirlpool dual front loader washing machine model number WFW94HEXW2 died after 5+ years of less than moderate use. Used no more than once a week. Paid for a top end model. Had 2 mechanics look at it. Mechanically it is fine. The CCU is not working correctly and won't allow it to start. We replaced it, but to no avail. It is barely out of warranty at 5+ years old. Called Whirlpool and they said they would do nothing. Asked for a manager and she was rude to add insult to injury. Can't get to the serial number because the door is locked shut as part of the shutdown problem. Can't find original receipt so including a picture of the credit card purchase. Trying to contact retailer but so far have not heard back from them.

We have had our LG 2301HR Direct Drive Front Loading washer going on two years. First of all, when the washer starts its water loading process, the valves close so forcefully and quickly that the water pipes throughout the house clang, bang and shake. You can not only hear them but you can feel them. To make matters worse, the closing of the valves are frequent and many throughout a wash cycle. This is a major design flaw.Secondly, I am replacing today the cold water inlet tri-valve system due to a water leak that developed in one of the valves (most likely due to the water loading process). I believe this will fix the water leak but unfortunately it will not affect the rapid shutoff process that created it. Hence, the part is only 35 bucks but that is with me doing the work and finding the problem. Too soon to be having problems with repair or replacement and I feel this solution to be only palliative.Third, yes I, too, have the same problems with all clothing having a moldy, musky odor. This has been since day one. We have tried and are still trying ways mentioned by the other reviewers with little to no resolution. The clothes do not smell clean because of the mold problem and it is obvious some soil is remaining in the clothing. Overall, the initial price tag of the washer made it a big decision for our family. It, too, was a replacement for our older top loader that worked just fine.We were sold on the idea that it was much more energy efficient and would pay for itself in time with the energy and water savings. LG is making inferior washing machines at the cost of our ignorance or belief that we are buying a better product. They are deemed defective presented by the problematic facts as testified by the reviewers/owners. The health issue alone (mold and mildew) should be enough for the Federal Health Dept to intervene. What about the BBB (Better Business Bureau)? Someone getting paid off?! What happened to our rights as consumers? Our forefathers are turning over in their graves. My "seasonal allergies" have become year-round chronic and come to think of it...it has been for the last two years. Go figure.

Maytag Top-loading washer MVWP475EWO - I just want to comment on how engineers have made our washing machines worse instead of better. I had to replace my Whirlpool Cabrio washing machine - and did try a new one of that brand, but had the dealer take it back. It had so little water when it ran and was a piece of junk. Anyway, replaced it with the Maytag and it too has the water saving feature (which I understand all of them do) but I have to put it on the bulky setting all the time to even get the water to at least cover the clothes. The clothes just barely, if at all, actually move! They sort of rotate a little at a very slow speed. Boy, maybe this was the time to try a front loader so the clothes at least moved a little in the machine! I am so disappointed in how all the machines are manufactured now. One dealer told me I would like the Speed Queen, but it would take five weeks to get one. Thought this Maytag might do the trick, but now I'm stuck with it anyway. It does not spin the clothes out nearly so well as my old Cabrio did. The clothes are pretty wet! So, another fine "engineering" feature. I wish the engineers would be the ones that actually did some laundry so they would see how bad the machines are. My daughter has three young boys and there's no way this would clean the clothes for her. I told her she should be glad her machine is still working. The dealer was very nice about it when I returned the other one, but it seems all the machines aren't really made to clean clothes anymore.
