I bought a Whirlpool fridge in 2014 and started having problems a year late
I bought a Whirlpool fridge in 2014 and started having problems a year later. It was making really loud noises and the fridge part wasnt working. All the food was warm. Of course there is no warranty on it after one year. I called a repairman and he said that the doors dont seal properly so the warm air is getting in causing condensation which freezes the engine/fan which is the cause of the loud noise. The reason why the upper fridge is warm is because the fan pushes the cold air up from the freezer, which of course wasnt working. Then I noticed that the frame at the bottom of the fridge is bending causing the freezer not to seal properly which would be the reason for warm air getting inside the fridge.

I have a two-year-old top of the line Whirlpool Duet Steam washer. Cleaning
I have a two-year-old top of the line Whirlpool Duet Steam washer. Cleaning performance is adequate at best, but my biggest complaint is about the visible mold buildup that collects on the water dispensing plate as well as on the detergent, bleach and softener dispenser and rubber lining of the washer opening. I have cleaned the removable detergent dispenser weekly since purchasing. The water dispensing plate has a continuous buildup of thick black mold that can only be removed with a tooth brush and bleach and only a small portion of those openings are reachable. I have cleaned the machine with Affresh as recommended and exactly as the manufacturer recommends. Nothing changes! I contacted Whirlpool and was told this was normal for all washers in which some moisture always remains and that I should continue to clean and leave the door and dispenser drawer open to allow the areas to air dry. So, I have done all of those things for the past year and nothing has changed! I received notification that a class action suit had been filed against Whirlpool for this mold issue but have not been contacted in any other way. Not only is this mold visibly disgusting but certainly is worrisome from a health perspective. When I contacted the company a second time, I was told there was nothing that could be done and it was in no way a design flaw on the part of Whirlpool.

We bought the Whirlpool duet washer & dryer in the winter 2011. The washer is absolutely awful. I have to keep it set on the Whitest White setting so every load gets a second rinse. In order for my clothes to smell CLEAN I use bleach in every load I can. With the loads I absolutely cant use bleach in, I have to be standing waiting to put the clothes in the dryer or I have to rewash the entire load because of the smell!! My towels are ruined from the bleach and my clothes are faded because of the multiple wash cycles. I have used the recommended Affresh numerous times and it does not help! Needless to say this washer was a total WASTE of money! We will be purchasing a new washer very soon! It will NOT be Whirlpool!!

I am having the very same problem with my french door stainless steel Whirlpool gold refrigerator. Water pooling in the bottom of freezer, freezing into a solid sheet and then leaking onto the floor. It is less than 2 years old. Apparently, this is a significant defect in this problem seeing how so many people are having the same problem with the same fridge. Has anyone reported to BBB? Im thinking class action lawsuit. Im getting ready to have to repair my kitchen floors as a result of this defect. I will be talking to my brother-in-law attorney about this and will post his response/recommendation. Whirlpool should stand behind their product and make this right.

We have ALL Whirlpool appliances in our home. This was our second home so we were not here to use these for a long time. We were preparing our other home and our parents home to sell. Our French door refrigerator is almost 2 years old and we live here now. My husband opened the icemaker door to see why we dont have ice. There was a wire in there. We called the local Whirlpool authorized service man and he said the wire is not hanging down to connect it. He tried to channel a new wire and said it must be crooked in there, he cant get through the insulation (no channel). He asked us if anyone had ever worked on it. We bought it brand new. Home Depot delivered, unboxed and set up. He said we need a new door. Whirlpool will not stand behind this! I am so disappointed! I thought I was doing the right thing. Good name, made in the USA. I was wrong! I definitely do NOT recommend Whirlpool!! I am so sorry that I spent so much money on 3 homes of Whirlpool appliances!!

Whirlpool wdf530plym4 - Bought this dishwasher 5/13. Sat for 3 months in the box while my kitchen was being built. 7/14 pump motor went out, called Whirlpool, they set me up with an appliance repair company, and I ended up paying $90. The technician was being nice, charging me less than he needed to since he said it was an easy fix. 1/26/2015 pump motor went out again. Called Whirlpool again. Lady on phone was very snooty with me, telling me it was out of warranty. Told them I was very dissatisfied, my dishwasher has broken 2x in 18 months and all she said was, I should have bought the extended warranty. Dishwasher is not even 2 years old and already needs to be fixed 2x. The most expensive part on the machine I may add. Going my average, I can keep dumping $130 every 9 months to have a working dishwasher by Whirlpool. I would understand if the thing broke after 2 or 3 years. I only run the thing 2 or 3x a week at the most.

Purchased a black Whirlpool refrigerator, Gold Series, Model GB2FHDX WB 22 cu ft. with bottom freezer from hhgregg. Within one month I had water on my floor, ice buildup on bottom freezer floor. I had previously reviewed fridge and noise was a concern but I thought I could live with that. I contacted hhgregg. They would do NOTHING, told me to contact Whirlpool. The 1st repairman said it was the ice-maker. I DO NOT have an ice maker. He fixed a duckbill. 2nd call 6 months later, same problem with water, serviceman replaced duckbill. Next year, 2011 same problem with water on floor and ice buildup on freezer bottom floor. After numerous repairmen I contacted Corporate Office of Whirlpool. They sent another repairman at their expense. We are now 6 years later and I am having the same problem. Dont buy a Whirlpool Gold & dont buy from hhgregg.

I have owned a Whirlpool Cabrio HE WTW6400SW3 for two years and have had nothing but issues from the start. Control panel was replaced twice under warranty. Also the clothes (socks underwear) were under the tub blocking the drain. This is not covered under the warranty. I was told by the repairman that this is the usual issue. He told me they took the front loader design and just stood it up with no protection from garments and coins getting under the tub, through the under tub filter often and into the drain pump. You are kidding me? Almost $1000 for this washer and its so ill designed. I have read forums that this has been an ongoing issue for several years yet Whirlpool continues to build these. I dont vent to forums often but just now I finished removing the tub to remove 2 socks and 7 cents. Also, I had to remove the drain pump and found another 16 cents inside it. So far the pump has not been ruined but this time water is coming out from the machine so will probably be ordering another pump for it as well. The wife wants it out of the house tomorrow and not another cent spent on it. But it is only two years old. What do you do? If you are reading this because you are searching for a new washer do not purchase a Whirlpool! I have gotten nothing but grief and was put off by their customer service dept as well. I guess after fielding so many calls about the same thing they have been told to just put all the calls off as no big deal. I am sure Whirlpool is making a killing off the sales on this unit. The claims made during the sale convinced me. What a joke. Look around the internet and you will find hundreds if not thousands of the same issues.

This Whirlpool Gas oven with 5 burner top is very good and has given us 12 years of good service so far. The only issue is that the stovetop and oven are not easy to clean and keep clean. The finish is good and has no chips. I would expect the top to be easier to clean and keep clean with the finish technologies available. Same for the oven window glass - it is not easy to clean and keep clean.

I just bought a house that has one of these ranges, and it was getting the F2 message. I found the problem. There is NO ventilation behind the electronic control so when the oven heats up, the control board gets too hot and throws the F2 code. That would indicate a bad temp sensor or bad board, but really its the heat shield on the back. Ive removed the metal plate from behind the control panel and it works fine now. Im considering drilling some vent holes and adding some insulation behind the control.

Whirpool Part #WPW10564292 refrigerator handle - I am a property manager who has 264 units. We have only been open for 1.5 years and have had to replace 30-40 door handles because they crack at the top where screws are. We tried calling Whirlpool Customer Service because obviously this is a defect and she said they looked in the system and didnt see any recall or issues. We also asked for a representative from Whirlpool to stop out so we could show them the issues and she said we have nobody in the area. We have 9 service requests outstanding that need a new refrigerator handle. On July 19th, we ordered 3 handles from our distributor and we were told theyre on back order until September 6th. When I called at the end of August to make sure we were on schedule with delivery, I was informed they are now on back order until November 5th. I just called our part rep. this morning and now they said the current part number does not exists and gave me the new part # W11026870, and they are on back order until mid or end of November. I am not going to keep quiet about this issue. We have paid $79.89 per handle on a refrigerator that is only a 1 to 2 years old appliance. I am requesting a returned call or email on what you are going to be able to do for us. This is not right or fair to a company that spent a large amount of money to have your appliances in 264 units.

The exhaust fan for the gas range runs when using the microwave. The noise is loud and very aggravating and there is no way to turn it off. From what I can find the older models there was an option to turn it off. On the new models Whirlpool cut costs by not putting a small (QUIET) fan in the microwave but used the range fan for a dual purpose.

My Whirlpool Cabrio Washer is a bucket of junk. I bought the washer in about 2008. I was smart and bought the warranty for approximately 3 years. Since I bought it, I have had them replace 3 water pumps, the tub, the computer, and it still knocks and shakes. It also leaves small frayed holes in my beach towels. This machine should be recalled. It needed a warranty from day one. Washer cost $1,000 warranty every year $130.00 per year which covered the repairs at about $900.00 for repairs. I hate it. I just hate it. I can’t stand it anymore. I need a new washer, someone has got to listen.

I am on my second Cabrio. The first one only lasted a few years, but I stayed with the Cabrio line because I didnt want to replace the dryer. That was my first mistake. The second Cabrio washer constantly leaves a white residue on dark clothing. I used an HE detergent, reduced the detergent and put the dark clothes through an extra rinse and still find residue that has to be scraped off. I called Whirlpool on Dec. 19th, 2018 to complain about this and was told there was no history reported of this kind of problem. Then I went on the ConsumerAffairs website to learn that many others have the same residue issue, among many other products. I will not ever purchase a Whirlpool machine of any kind again.

The problem started with an error code F3F1 on dryer. Called A & E Factory Service who is company that are certified Whirlpool technicians. They have been out 7 times, March 26, April 1, April 8, April 13, April 27, May 5 and May 12. During those times they ordered and replaced the main control board 3 times and a thermistor for which we paid for parts and labor. The company now says they think we have a lemon and we are supposed to hear back within 48 hours whether we are going to be refunded a total of $504.48 we have advanced for repairs less the service call. They referred us back to Whirlpool and said they would no longer come out as the dryer cannot be repaired! Talked to Whirlpool customer service that says we didnt have an extended warranty and there is nothing they can or will do. This dryer was purchased on 12/31/11. They took the position that because there is no recall for defective parts for this model, there is nothing they will do. Attached is our purchase receipt and all service invoices regarding this matter.

Purchased my Whirlpool WRF989SDAH00 White Ice fridge late September of 2014, received the fridge Early October, todays date is Dec 17, 2015. The freezer is not freezing food properly the last couple of days, all food is unfrozen in the freezer. Have lowered the temp settings has not helped, the fridge section is temperately fine. There is a noise coming from the fridge that sounds like a noisy fan or motor. Phoned Whirlpool Canada, they said they could send someone out. They will charge $100 for call out and over $20/15 min after. I asked whod theyd be calling to service. Said that Id try unplugging the fridge for a couple of days and seeing if that helps, and that Ill call the refrigeration company myself if I need them. Not satisfied with their short term warranties. Especially on such expensive products.

I purchased a 50 Gal. Whirlpool gas water heater on Saturday, 12/31 to replace a 20-yr old unit that had failed. The unit was installed that day and it started right up but I noticed the burner had gone out about an hour later and the status light indicated FV Sensor Lockout. I tried calling Whirlpool but their customer service was closed. I tried troubleshooting myself using manuals and Internet forums without success. Everything I could find indicated that an FV Sensor failure could not be repaired and would require replacement parts. I called Lowes and was told they could not help me and I would need to talk to Whirlpool.I called Whirlpool again Sunday, 1/1, but they were closed again for the Holiday. I called two plumbers and both told me that the Whirlpool units were problematic and that if they did come out, there would be little they could do except charge me a lot of money and recommend parts to order as Whirlpool does not let them stock parts. Both plumbers also suggested that I consider buying another brand. So I went to Home Depot and purchased another brand with similar specs. I installed it that day and it fired up right away and has been running fine ever since.I talked to Whirlpool on Monday, 1/2, and they told me they would not issue an RMA for a unit that they considered usable. They also told me there was an FV Sensor reset procedure that they would have walked me through had I been able to talk to them that would have bypassed the sensor until a replacement could be installed. I told them that if they would publish this procedure in their manuals or on the Internet, I would have certainly done that. Im now fighting with both Whirlpool and Lowes to get a resolution to this problem. Im not sure about other Whirlpool products but their Water heaters seem to be very problematic.

I called a service tech and they said it was a common problem, but to find a service tech to come and look at it. The cost for that was $250.00 and still no fix. Now it quit working completely. I was always told by my dad that Whirlpool was the best - maybe true, 30 years ago. I know one thing if I have to buy another refrigerator - it wont be a Whirlpool. You do stand up to your name Whirlpool of trouble. If anyone reads this, please take my advice and do not buy a Whirlpool. I have a washer and dryer thats Whirlpool too. They work but I wont have anything in my house that says Whirlpool on it. Its too bad that they were a great product at one time. Consumer Reports should do something about this company or the BBB. Whirlpool/Ikea Renlig dishwasher - Since installing this integrated dishwasher it has continuously destroyed the decorative panel door. On my model (they have recently changed in 2014) the steam exits at the top, this damages whatever it comes into contact with it. Today they are saying that it has not been installed correctly and that it should actually sit out from the countertop, i.e. jut out from the rest of the kitchen so that the steam can vent into the room. The panel should also be lower than the other doors of the kitchen cabinetry too. Hardly integrated and would be a bloody eyesore. I am about to call them back again and inform them that I will be making a scene about this in my local Ikea and with anyone else who cares to listen.

Certain brands of dishwashers made by Whirlpool, including Whirlpool, Kitchenaid and Kenmore, are a fire hazard. Most appeared to be made in the mid-00s. My Kenmore Elite, model# 665.16293400, bought in March 2006, started emitting a burning plastic smell. I removed the door panel and found where the control board wires have been overheating and melting the plastic liner inside the door.Further investigation led me to kitchenaidfire.com, which details the models involved and includes hundreds of reports of fires from these models. I also searched saferproducts.gov and also found over 100 reports of fires from these models. The report logs are growing rapidly as it appears most of the control boards start to malfunction about five years in.I called Sears and they said that Whirlpool needs to do a recall. I called Whirlpool and I was told that they do not make Kenmore dishwashers, only some parts. This is completely false. I couldnt believe the representative was told to tell me that besides the part that is failing is stamped Whirlpool. These Whirpool-made dishwashers are a documented fire hazard and need to be recalled. I do not know what it takes, hundreds of fire reports have been logged and they are rapidly growing, but I hope that it doesnt take someone to be killed before they are recalled.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold side-by-side Refrigerator on June 15, 2013. The freezer works fine but the refrigerator does not feel that cold and when I put a thermometer in there, it reads 42-43 deg although the refrigerator is set at 37 deg. The tech was just here and told me to put a thermometer in a glass of water and read it again. His thermometer read 46 deg when reading a bottle in the door although he explained that he had had the door opened for a while during his visit. He said his reading of the bottle upon opening the door was 36 deg. I do not believe that. I just measured some bottled water temperature and it was 48 deg. I have a hard time believing the temp went up 12 degrees and he has been gone for a half hour. My food is cold but not like you expect from a refrigerator. My bottled water and soda, etc., are not very cold. The worst is the water dispenser. That water is barely cooler than tap water. There is almost no difference. The water temperature has been in the 60s when Ive measured it. The tech says the first glass wont be cold (have never had that with any other refrigerator) but even if you get the second and third glasses of water, they arent any colder... maybe a couple of degrees. If anyone else is having this problem and Whirlpool will do nothing, then Im interested in legal action.

Will research and as with everything else stay away from the USA/Chinese rusty, corroded junk.

I bought a Whirlpool top load washer. In less than a month it had to be serviced by their recommended service repair. It has never worked properly. It malfunctions almost everytime it is used and takes at least an hour to wash even a small load. At first I thought I may have acquired an odd lemon. After talking with several friends who had bought the same Whirlpool model I found we all had the same complaints. My old machine could wash a king size comforter in 36 minutes... that was energy efficient.

I bought a Whirlpool refrigerator side by-side model #ED2PHEXMQ00, made in 01/04. As I was letting my dog out at 4 am, I heard a sizzling noise and I immediately smelled an electrical burning odor. I lost all of my food, but thankfully I caught it before it caused a fire. Had this happened during the day, I would have lost my 3 dogs and my home. I had to borrow a mini fridge for the time being because I dont have the money for the repairs or replacement. Since this is an ongoing problem, Im not sure replacing the part will make me feel confident in trusting that it wont happen again. I may not be as lucky to be standing next to it if it does happen again. Whether its under warranty or not, Whirlpool should take responsibility and issue a recall and replace the parts. I would never suggest buying a Whirlpool product in the future.

As soon as we bought our new microwave, I saw what appeared to be hair on the door. I tried to scratch it off but I could not so I wondered if it was a crack but I could not feel it. As time went by, many other lines appeared but I could not feel them, just see them. After a couple of months, I noticed the first crack could be felt and then soon after that I could feel the other cracks. The first crack goes from the glass to the edge of the door and is wide open and the door edge kind of just hangs there. There are now about 20 cracks and the door will most likely fall apart soon. I called Whirlpool and they lied and said there have been no complaints at all about their doors. I read them some of the names here on this site having the same problem and the best they can do is offer to sell me a new door for $180. I told them that their product was defective and need to be recalled or something and he again tried to send me to the parts department to sell me a $180 door. I told him if that is how Whirlpool treats their customers, I would no longer buy anything from them.

After insisting to my husband that I wanted an HE washer with a large capacity so I could wash comforters and such and be ready for a house full of grandkids and visitors (we recently moved and had to leave my washer and dryer in the old house); I have been very disappointed with the washer. It leaves lint residue all over my clothes! Some of them I just cant get off. I live in Colorado and the sun shines almost everyday! I love to hang my clothes outside to dry and get brightened by the sun. Being a mile high makes the clothes even brighter I think!Anyways... back to washer... I have been doing laundry for 40 years. I have 4 grown children and know how to sort, etc... When I wash my darks, the lint that ends up on the shirts and pants... its just ridiculous! I end up scraping it off for about 25 minutes before I can hang them up to dry. On some of the clothes, there are marks where all the lint was and has stayed! Ive tried using less detergent, less fabric softener and always use the extra rinse. Tried setting it on the lowest spin cycle and the highest... Nothing helps. How do I tell my husband I would like to get rid of this and get an good old fashioned washer? I was a maniac for two months doing research and making a great cause to buy these machines! It seems to be a little better if I dry the clothes in the dryer, as the lint is pulled off somewhat, but the marks remain. If anyone has had the same experience and knows what Im doing wrong, or has a solution (other than going back to the basic machine) I would appreciate it so much. Disappointed in Denver.

Stay away from all Whirlpool products. The appliances are terrible (broke twice for different reasons within 14 months of purchase). Customer service wait times are over 90 mins and the technicians take over 3 weeks to get to the house and they dont fix it, they order the part and that takes another 3 weeks for it to arrive and the technician comes back. We bought an extended warranty and when the fridge broke a second time, they canceled the warranty and said they had the right to cancel it as it was in the contract. Terrible, terrible company. I bought a Whirlpool Cambrio washer/dryer set last year. I hate them. They dont get the clothes clean, let alone wet! I couldnt believe it! I put my grandsons bib in the wash and it came out completely dry with the stuck on food still there. My husbands shirts still smell like the cologne he put on! I asked a Home Depot sales person about this and he says, yeah, we hear that a lot. !!!!!!! Im going back to a washer with an agitator so that I know my clothes are being cleaned. This whole water control business is insane. Whats the point if you have to wash the clothes several times to feel like they are marginally clean? The problem is that the industry has decreased the amount of models that still have an agitator so my selection is very slim. First and LAST time I ever buy Whirlpool.

Aqua clean does not work. I purchased this range this year not knowing aqua clean was different than a standard self cleaning. I had not use the range since its delivery in June until Thanksgiving. One meal in the oven and the turkey had created staining on the sides and the bottom. I have run the self clean cycle so far four times and scrubbed till I’m blue in the face. The greasy stuff does not lift off and the warranty voids if you use anything else. Have already contacted the dealer to see if I can return this!

I would have bought a different brand at that time, but didnt want it to look ridiculous, as it is mounted in the cabinet above the Whirlpool oven I was shocked to get a text from my wife a couple days ago, saying the same thing had happened to our oven. I thought that it must be a circuit breaker. My parents had Whirlpool appliances in my home growing up and we never had a problem with our oven. Well... I was wrong not a circuit breaker. The thing is just dead. Nice... Thanks Whirlpool! Thanks Century Communities for installing the absolute cheapest products in my home! Wonder what will be next? Probably the range top... Weve had our Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer just over a year. I like them both but then we are having problems with our lid. The first one cracked after 9 months and they replaced the lid. Two months later, the new one cracked and they replaced the hinges and lid again. I assure you we are very careful when lowering and lifting the lid. I do 80% and my husband does 20%, and we are very cautious of it especially after the second one broke. Now, I was just putting laundry in and the third one cracked while lifting the lid. I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator in February 2016 from Lowes. Within 3 months the freezer started frosting up and eventually wasnt freezing. I made sure the back of the refrigerator was clean of debris and defrosted the freezer. This started occurring every 2 weeks. Upon a visit to Lowes, they indicated I would need to call the manufacturer. Well, after calling about 5 times and sitting on hold over 30 minutes each time, I gave up and decided I would just deal with having to defrost it every 2 weeks.Fast forward to September 2016. I wake up to $300 in food at 67 degrees in the fridge. Mind you, Im a caterer and have a wedding to cater in a few days. So here I sit on hold with Whirlpool. The man answered the phone after 40 minutes on hold. Then proceeds to tell me there are no technicians in my area and someone would get back to me in 24-48 business hours. Unacceptable, I say. I have now been on hold for another hour while he sees what he can do. Biggest load of crap ever. He didnt bother apologizing for the loss of food, and hasnt checked in with me once. Do NOT buy the Whirlpool Cabrio washer...it doesnt actually wash your clothes! Most clothing still half dry after the wash (didnt get any water on them) and they are still smelling sweat after the wash! Also doesnt clean basic stains that others washers clean. Even if you add water manually to the washer to soak your clothes, the clothes on top wont be agitated at all, hence the reason the clothes are still dirty after a wash. Poorly engineered washer... its a lemon as it doesnt do what it is supposed to do (wash clothes). Biggest scam ever from Whirlpool and shouldnt be allowed to be sold to consumers anymore!

I have an oven hood Whirlpool Microwave. Even though its more of a basic model it has worked terrific so far at about 5 years old. Only draw back is the extremely loud 4 beep alarm upon completion of warming up food. I actually cringe when it is about to go off especially early in the morning. Ours doesnt have the handy options button to turn it off. I have tried other combos with the buttons to see if they have it set up different but to no avail. Does anyone know if you can shut it off. The people who design these things must not have babies because they would think of this at nap time Im sure. Truly the sound this thing emits could wake the dead! I also had the fancy Whirlpool before like some folks mentioned about the handle and door frame cracking and disintegrating. Guess what, so did my parents, sisters, aunts and my neighbors. Definitely a major design flaw or faulty materials. My sister, mom got new doors and they began cracking again within a year!

A couple of years ago I replaced my Whirlpool gas range because after seven years, the house was growing a gas smell that was becoming stronger. I called the gas company and they determined that it was the oven and not their problem. I called an appliance person who could not find the leak but charged me for the service call. Before I had him leave though, I called the gas company back and had the two talk. There was a conflict with their assessments. The service guy left frustrated. The gas company guy came back and again checked and told me that the oven is definitely leaking. He told me they use instruments, not soap, to determine leaks. With this, I was mad at the appliance company. After voicing my frustration, they were going to allow me to purchase a similar new Whirlpool freestanding gas range at a discount and deliver it for free. I relented and spent close to $600 for the new range. After installation, I realized that the quality was cheaper than my old one. The metal rods in the oven racks are thinner and less of them so they are further apart. The cooktop grates are already wearing and chipping. But the thing that has irked me the most is the burners. You cant adjust them to low for a long simmer because the flame goes out, not immediately, but when youre not around to watch it; and the whole house smells of gas fumes! I called the appliance store and they said that because I didnt buy an extended warranty and that a year has already passed, I would have to pay for the service charge. I called Whirlpool and they said that they have not encountered this problem with their stoves yet. Even while on the phone, I could turn every burner on separately and the flame would go out in a circular motion as I turned the knob to low. The only suggestion they had was to call my appliance company and have them look at it. I got nowhere and I was quite frustrated! These Whirlpool stoves should be recalled! Gas leaks are dangerous! I will never buy a Whirlpool again!

Out of warranty, slab of ice forms every few weeks in bottom of freezer. I have to take a butter knife and chisel it out to prevent having to defrost the entire freezer. This is clearly not isolated as after reading online and this forum, it is a manufacturing DEFECT that should be fixed at no charge to the consumer. It was delivered and installed by the retailer that sold the brand - however it sounds that Whirlpool would rather lose customers to other brands - trust me I just bought a stove and bet your sweet behind it was NOT a Whirlpool. My double ovens were locked and I could not open them. A repair man came, undid the latch, but did not have the replacement part. He ordered it and came back two weeks later to replace the latch. I paid the required $159.00 for the service call. In the meantime, I could use the bottom oven without any problem. He replaced the latch and discovered it was defective. In removing it, he damaged the ribbon in the control panel. He came back and put in a new latch, but now neither of the ovens would work because the control panel was inoperative. An attempt was made to order the control panel, but the control panel is no longer made. Instead, an attempt was made to repair the control panel. This took 4 weeks, and meant that I did not have an oven for Thanksgiving and had to totally rearrange my plans. Now I am told that the panel is not fixable and the best they can do is offer me a prorate on a new oven in which I would be charged $1374.00. I find this outrageous. Except for the latch, an easily repaired mechanical problem, the ovens were in excellent working order. Now I am being told that due to the problem caused by their repair person, I must pay $1374.00. He services this problem on a weekly basis and Whirlpool will not do a recall because unless it is a safety hazard, it is not a concern to them if consumers have to pay out the nose for cheaply made parts. This repairman informed us that during training at a Whirlpool class, he learned that on the main board of the washers, they could put a 2 cent lamp that would indicate a bad board which would simplify diagnosis, expedite repair and reduce service time, but Whirlpool wont do it because it isnt cost effective. Just bought this washer, its making a lot of noise, sounds like something is grinding (metal, gears, etc). I thought Whirlpool was suppose to be good. I just had my Maytag go out after 18 years of service, thought about getting another Maytag but found out Whirlpool makes those. As many complaint as I see, seems there needs to be a class action lawsuit against Whirlpool for shoddy work.

I am done with Whirlpool. Everything I have bought is failing. I bought all new appliances when moving into my home. Dishwasher, 2.5 years old, quit. Cost is going to be as much as a new one. Refrigerator quit at 5 years old, what a mess that was. Paint is peeling off my clothes washer. I am not going to buy or recommend any more of this junk.

I bought an whirlpool stove from conn store in 2007. The oven hasnt work right since day one. They send different people out to service it - still dont work the right. We smell gas when we try to light it. It wont come on 90 percent of the time, sometime we have wait a while to start it. They refuse to exchange from day one, we cant afford to throw our money away so we do more top cooking than bottom.

I bought a Whirlpool Gold refrigerator in 2010 from Lowes. Within months it had a Freon leak and Lowes had to replace it. I had bought the extended warranty. In 2011 a part had to be replaced twice due to excessive noise. Then the freezer got frost buildup on a coil in 2012 and again in 2014. I called Whirlpool and asked if they would pay for my next 3 year warranty. They said no, it was my responsibility after the first year. I would never buy a Whirlpool product . Do research, Whirlpool makes several brands.

I bought a Whirlpool washing machine from Home Depot 4 years ago. It immediately started to grow mold in the seal even though I wiped it clean after usage. I called a certified technician to replace the seal. As he was removing one screw on the lock the Washing machine shorted out essentially destroying the panel and rendering the machine broken. I called Whirlpool and told them that the machine was defective otherwise, why would it do that? My technician has worked on hundreds of machines and this is the first time this has happened. The two managers I talked to refused to help me because I didnt have an extended warranty. It is true that I dont have an extended warranty but also, I had faith that Whirlpool had sold me a good product. There is no other explanation for the washing machine to do that other than it was defective. I asked the managers to send me replacement parts, but they refused to do that. The last machine I had was a Maytag that lasted 20 years and when I gave it away, it was still working. I expected no less from the Whirlpool I purchased at Home Depot.

My model - GB9FHDXWD06 - is one of only a very few that fits our space. However, it has failed three times in 5 years: 1) A faulty defrost drain tube that was replaced under warranty, 2) A jammed vent flap that caused the freezer to fail, and 3) a burned-out control panel (an expensive repair). It is also annoyingly noisy and middling at energy efficiency. The coils are in a very narrow space below the refrigerator, which makes them a bear to clean. And, the plastic front plate that must be removed for cleaning breaks far too easily. On the good side, it is a bottom freezer model (which is far better for convenience), the space-wasting ice maker was very easy to remove, the glass shelves, removable baskets, and drawers are easy to clean, and the auto-defrost works very well (after the recall update, number one, above). Temperature uniformity is good and the freezer maintains below 0° very well. Overall, it is a good looking appliance with mediocre efficiency and poor reliability. Not recommended.

I have bought knobs from Whirlpool 7 times already then got PSEG home service and they are tired with the quality itself. Save your money and buy another make! We purchased a WRF989SDAM03 model French door refrigerator in September. A month later it began to make grinding noises when running. The noises got louder until it sounded like a car idling. We called for service, and the technician diagnosed a failing compressor. They replaced the compressor with some difficulty. Three days later we lost cooling. They replaced the compressor again. Now the refrigerator cools, but it runs 100% of the time. I dont mean frequently, I mean it NEVER. SHUTS. OFF. Its never not running. Today a technician came out, and after 1.5 hrs of diagnostics on the phone with a Whirlpool engineer, theyve declared that it works. Whirlpool refuses to honor their warranty and says that because the unit cools, I should accept that it runs 100% of the time. I can get no resolution from Whirlpool.

It is a disaster. The slots are so tiny that most of them are unusable. I called Whirlpool thinking that surely there was another basket I could substitute, but no, there isnt. I will never touch the premier Whirlpool Brand Again. This is the two door fridge + drawer freezer, model GI7FVCXWY0After about a year, and I think it lasted this long because the ice maker was off during winter (because unless you use it constantly you have a solid block of ice), after a year it stopped making ice and poured water out from the top of the fridge. Expensive extended warranty came and replaced the Ice Maker, which (about a year later) has just started leaking all over the floor (again). This I suspect was a protest against using all of the ice one day. It froze up, which causes the leak, froze solid items that were in the fridge compartment (and spoiled some items). The other design fault is while the right hand door will stay open, the left will not, it closes. But it does not close properly - just enough to make you think it is closed.Dangle beers in a nearby stream, keep your food in the cellar, dig a deep hole in the backyard, learn to eat all your food the day you buy it, but do not buy this fridge!

We have had this range in our new home and in use since May, 2019. The first range had to be returned after its first use due to flaking of the interior walls; a problem the company acknowledged. Since then we have been so unhappy with its ability to maintain the oven temperature. Contrary to the instructions, we calibrated the oven temp and found that it would vary up to 20 degrees lower than the set temp. When set to 350, it would come up to that temp and then cut off until it fell to 330 when it would come back up to 350. That is a great differential noticeable in the time it takes to heat an item and which greatly affects baked goods. A similar lack of consistency in control in the range elements is apparent as well. Now those are major defects. Minor defects are: it is NOT a rapid preheat at all, both lights are on when the switch is engaged even though only one oven is in use, there is no clock function when the timer is in use and the range surface is difficult to clean as it streaks which is visible with the black finish.

Standing in my kitchen yesterday and heard a pinging noise, noticed chips of the finish all over my floor, it was chipping inside the top of the oven door, overnight the exterior top of the door was also chipping, bits of finish flying all over my kitchen! Have been on hold with Home a depot Cust. Serv. for almost 60 min. Will attempt to return to a Home Depot. Not sure what to do short of complaining about lousy Whirlpool product. AVOID Whirlpool water heaters - Bought two 12 year warranty water heaters from Lowe’s in 2014. Model NU50T121-403 from Whirlpool. Thermocouple went out within the first 4 months. Called WP, they gave me a number to call for an authorized contractor to come out. Made certain to tell me that PARTS were covered, but not labor. $300 for the labor and two days later, hot water is back on. SAME THING happens again 6 months later, then AGAIN in Sept of this year. So 3 guys have been out to all replace the same part. This morning, hot water is out. Both tanks. Can’t keep pilot light lit. Called WP. They gave me more numbers of authorized contractors. No hot water and now I’ve got another $300 I owe to fix the SAME BROKEN PART. I wonder if this is how their last class action lawsuit got started?

Just about three years old our washing machine started making a horrible noise and soon after a horrible smell. Won’t complete spin and dry. The bearing inside the drum has failed. The pump is making an unusual noise. I see a lot of reviews about this product. Shame on Whirlpool for our landfills, dumps and recycle bins with absolute garbage plastic and metal Has to be recycled. We have only disposable garbage for appliances.

We have always bought whirlpool appliances, and trusted the name. We can put a man on the moon but we cant build a reliable bottom freezer refrigerator. My previous refrigerator was whirlpool. 19 yrs old when it went out for a new whirlpool bottom freezer fridge, 2014 Jan. 14 months after purchase, no warranty. The temp in freezer and upper compartment would increase and stop making ice. At first, we thought it was the icemaker. Repairman NOT FACTORY TRAINED, THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.. Came and looked at it said, yep, icemaker. Plugged it in after 4 days. Just like brand new - making ice, not the icemaker. About 4 days later same problem - temp increasing. Called the store where we purchased it, sent the same repairman. He said it was a cooling fan. This went on for 2 months trying to figure the problem. Well, we cant rebuild a refrigerator out of parts it doesnt need, so we called a FACTORY TRAINED TECH who diagnosed the thermostat and defroster in the bottom of fridge taking two screws out and pulling bottom freezer out. It was iced up. Cost to fix it - 522.00. So I called whirlpool corp., explained problem. They agreed to pay for parts if we paid labor, 100.00. This is doable. However, if we continue to have problems after this, we will purchase a top freezer fridge, no ice maker because they constantly break down.

Its now Nov 8 and Ive been officially dealing with this issue since Sept 26. This washer was installed in a new home. After less than 10 loads, my washer stopped draining and I was left with a load of towel soup for over a week while waiting for a service call. I still have the same defective non functioning washer sitting in my home and have been unable to do laundry at home in all that time. So far Ive spoken with 2 customer service representatives. The first was incapable of scheduling a service call. She clearly did not understand how to operate the database used for scheduling. I was finally able to schedule appointment on my own but had to wait a week before the technician was able to come by. It was determined that either the latch mechanism or the mother board or both are defective from the factory. The second was just plain dismissive and completely unhelpful. I sat on hold for about an hour each time before getting to speak to a person. Ive also received two canned emails in response to my poor review of this washer on the Whirlpool website. They basically blame COVID for the delays and state the parts delivery should take 3-4 weeks. I was originally told 14 working days for delivery of the parts. We are already past both deadline with no end in sight. At this point, Id like the defective washer replaced rather than repaired. And for the record, this was a new washer (less that one month old) installed in a new house that now stinks to high heaven because slimy, scummy water that will not drain out has been there since September 26. Id really just like for someone at Whirlpool to honestly care about this and take a moment to address this issue.

We purchased the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer duet exclusive to Lowe’s in June 2011. I was immediately dissatisfied and went to Lowe’s. They told me I only had 7 days to return it. They dispatched a service man and he said it was working as it was intended to but I would never be satisfied. If I had dirty clothes from farming, construction, or mining, I should forget about it.” The washer is an eco-friendly model and all the clothes do not get wet. It wrings them out very tight and everything needs to be dried or ironed to get rid of the wrinkles. After 6 visits and lots of stress, I am returning the washer to Lowe’s and they will replace it with a different model. It definitely will not be a Whirlpool. I am very disappointed in the service and response I received from Lowes.

I purchased this washer and at the same time had gotten a puppy, I only mention the puppy because she is the one who kept getting blamed for what was happening to my clothes. I NEVER thought that it was my washing machine that was ruining my clothing, until I finally opened the door one day and my shirt was hanging from the top of the washer opening, and suddenly it all made sense! I kept thinking that the puppy was chewing my clothes but it is actually the washer that is sucking my clothing into the opening of the washer and when it gets stuck and the rest of the garment keeps spinning, it creates a burn in the clothing. I found out the hard way that Whirlpool will just blame the consumer for not knowing how to properly follow washing instructions, or their instructions, and will not take any sort of responsibility for it being the washer itself! I wrote to them after my father passed away and I washed his sweater in the washer and it got caught in the washer and ruined it. They blamed me for it and basically said I did not follow the proper washing instructions. I have been washing clothes for over 20 years and I know how to do laundry. I have read every inch of the owners manual and NOTHING tells you that during the wash cycle, your clothes may become sucked into the opening and ruined! So I went online to see if this was happening to anyone else and I was amazed at how many people this is actually happening to! There should have been a recall on these washers and I am amazed there has not been some sort of class action lawsuit.

I hope the CEO posts this on a giant screen in front of all their employees. The first thing I did after moving into our new home is brag about the American made Whirlpool appliances. Being from the Midwest I take pride in made in the USA product and go out of my way to support homegrown companies. I know that a number of the components in my fridge include the fan that failed after 11 month were most likely sourced and manufactured in China... but that no excuse!! Whirlpool needs to do a better job of QC. You need to be passionate and rigorous with your testing. Dont reduce cost at the cost of your customer base. It is amazing were to the point where we can no longer compete with China in quality.Second is customer service, if you know you cant compete in quality you need to be able to make up for that with customer support. I called Whirlpool and scheduled an appointment the day the fridge quit working. I was upset that it would take three days to have a working fridge but I was understanding. Lucky for me I had an understanding neighbor too. Anyways, when the day came for my scheduled warranty repair I was told that Whirlpool was mistaken and that I wouldnt be able to get it serviced for another week! This is just unacceptable.Right away I called the Whirlpool customer service representative and manager to express my frustration with this error. They were polite and both agreed with my frustration. It also sounded as if they also didnt understand why their own company was doing such a poor job addressing repair issues. They made it sound like this was a common problem of people getting overbook at repair service providers. Again another fumble. Bottom line, due to my position, I dont really have a choice but to wait another week for a repair. Take note: Every time you lose a customer like me this you lose 10! I will now go out of my way to tell people about my negative experience rather than my positive. So disappointed.

We got a french door Whirlpool refrigerator about 15 months ago. Model Wrf757sdem01. There were problems from day one. Serviced about 6 times by 3 different companies... Died again less than 2 weeks ago. Finally the store decided to replace it. Was under an extended warranty. We have been without a fridge for over 10 days. It has caused multiple problems for us as we are out in the country. We have to haul ice to 4 coolers... Wait on the new one (a Whirlpool). Plumber had to be called in and he has had 3 of this same model replaced! Years ago you could trust Whirlpool. Now apparently not. I hope we do not have to regret our replacement one which still is not installed! By the way the water filters have to be replaced to the tune of 100.00 a year. We are not going to use an icemaker or get water from the new one.
