I will NEVER purchase nor will I recommend Kenmore Elite "Stainless Steel" appliances. First, the only "stainless steel" which exists is in the handles on all appliances, everything else is cheap metal. I bought in 2016 the Side-by-Side (both doors developed rust spots within one month), Dishwasher (outside door) developed rust spots, Microwave/Oven combo (both doors) developed rust spots, and Gourmet Hood, which developed rust spots and the lights no longer work. All I did was use the cleaner, which came with the appliances. I built a brand new house and everything within one month had rust. I called Sears, well, guess what, I was over my 30 days so NO WARRANTY on the rust. I called the store and "We're sorry to hear that." No discount on my full purchase price either. My husband, who is a builder, said they are more than likely storing the appliances in a damp warehouse and it's cheap metal, as steel doesn't rust. Electrolux is not living up to the "no lemon clause" of their service contract which states that if the same part on an appliance is replaced three times the customer is entitled to a cash settlement or another comparable appliance. This contract is not followed by Electrolux for my washer because they do not maintain the records. I have an email from them which states this. Furthermore, the local service companies they use also have no accurate records. They reuse the same service tickets and do not record the part numbers so it is impossible for the customer to make a claim. I have proof of this as well. My transmission was replaced at least four times. They lie about fixing the machine which is still broken. According to them the washer moving away from the wall and damaging components is normal and operating according to factory specifications. I have had "commercial" front loading washers since they came out (first was a Whirlpool Duet); although I like the capacity they have for large quilts and sleeping bags, they just don't seem to clean as well as the agitate-in-tub style, and they can take a ridiculous amount of time for a cycle -- where's the energy savings there that they advertise? I'm going to go back to the agitate-in-tub of water style when a replacement is needed. A lot of hype and expense, and plenty of experience with these on my part, but I'm going to grade them a C, at best, compared to the agitator style washing machines I use to own.C of Shavertown, PA

I have to rewash many load of dark clothing because pale white smears appear on the clothing most times. I've tried various "cleaning" methods to try to remove any residue that might be in the walls of the tub. Bought machine 03/23/15 exactly 2 yrs ago & machine will not work. It looks like the electric panel and which there are a lot of complaints about the panel, and the lid. It seems as it's about the extended warranty now. The quality that Maytag advertises is lies. You buy the product and you have no choice but to purchase a warranty on your machine. Simple is better when it last 20 yrs over 2 yrs on a fancy machine. First electric panel machine washer with a horrible experience. It will cost 98 just to look at, that is not including parts and labor. It's 339.15 for a year warranty which equals over 300 per year for 3 years. Overpriced in all ways. This is the second FP washer owned but this time, we bought the new high efficiency one! Clothes often come out with black, greasy, soapy streaks on them, sometimes permanent staining. We use the recommended HE detergent and barely reach line 1 on the cap (any more causes loads of foam and machine to complain). Agren Appliances, from whom we bought the machine, sent out a technician to take a look but no remedy found. We have taken the damaged clothing to them and shown them what happens. They kindly gave us some powder detergent but the FP booklet recommends HE liquid detergent only. On calling FP customer service, we were told we were probably using too much detergent. Ha, if we use any less, we wonder whether our clothes will actually be cleaned! So what do we do? This machine is less than 1 year old and it's a disaster. There is no support from the store we bought it from (despite having taken out extra service warranty) and FP doesn't want to help either. Surely, a machine cannot be HE if after washing it leaves clothes with dark streaks on them, hence needing a second wash! I don't see the efficiency in that! There seems to be little option other than to take it to the scrap heap and buy a new machine, different brand naturally. Hunk of junk, never to be recommended to anyone.Emma of Cape Elizabeth, ME

I bought this machine in September of 2014. Six months later I HATE IT!! It does NOT get the clothes clean and don't even try to bleach white towels or socks, it doesn't pump the correct amount of hot water and things come out just as dirty as when they went in. It tangles everything together and frequently stops working because it unbalances the load with its lack of water. I've always been proud of how my family's laundry looked and now I'm just embarrassed. I'm considering donating this to a human society for dog towels. Stay away from this washer, it's horrible. This washer is excessively noisy. It makes many different noises and is totally annoying! The washer does not fill up with enough water even when you select "Deep Fill". You must put the detergent in before you load your clothes and this completely stained a new shirt. The fill rate is slow. If you need to stop the washer it does not cancel out properly.
