Whirlpool WRT351SFYW 21.1 cu.ft. White Top Freezer Refrigerator - Energy... Puts out a very irritating high pitch noise, unlike my previous Whirlpool Refrig. The old one was perfectly quiet. I believe Whirlpool is going down hill in every way. WP is buying refrigerators from 3rd world countries and slapping the name on them. The delivery people were very rude with me when I was unable to give them a tip, even though I had to supply my truck to shuttle the refrig. up to my house and help them unload it. I also had to go and find them when they would not follow my directions to my house. So, they kept the wrench I loaned them; they did not have their own tools for the installation. And they refused to return it when I asked them to do so. Denvers customer service refused to respond in any way to my requests for information or complaints about the noise and delivery. Finally, their head office contacted me a month or two later, and the customer service person had initiated the discussion in argumentative attitude despite my saying I did not care anymore. I gave up on them and dont expect anything from Whirlpool anymore. While she told me that there are standard levels of acceptable noise that come from their refrigerator, she refused to acknowledge that they are not my standards, and I am the customer. Besides, I had an older Whirlpool refrig. that did not make any noise. I am sorry trusted WP. When I tried to upgrade the old refrig. - it was an expensive downgrade! Buy LG or Amana - wished I did!

Do not buy a Whirlpool refrigerator. This is the 3rd time I have to call in repair for the ice maker in 4 years. Water poured out on my floor for the 3rd time ruining my floors. Called Whirlpool and said there is nothing they can do to help me. They don’t care about their Customers! I could have bought a new one by now based on repair costs. They don’t back their products. I’m really annoyed now!

If what everyone on here are saying is true then it looks like I too will have to purchase a new refrigerator and you can bet it wont be a Whirlpool.

About two months ago the washer starting stopping and the UL light continued to come on during every spin cycle. So I would adjust the clothes and start it again. So I decided that I should call a certified serviceman to come out and access the problem. Today a certified serviceman came out to access the problem. After about twenty minutes I was told the tub needed to be replaced and the cost and labor would be $600 or more. I do realize that the washer is about 8 years old but to completely need a repair like a new tub. I am very upset and have no idea what to do.

Add us to the list of those whose Whirlpool Cabrio washer has failed. First, it was the infamous circuit board at a cost of $475 installed. Now, the tub bearing is apparently beginning to fail given the machines new propensity to roar like a freight train during the spin cycle. A letter to Whirlpool resulted the too bad ** letter that everyone else has gotten. This really should be a class action suit money-maker for some attorney. So now the question: Throw good money after bad hoping to get an additional couple of years out of it or bite the bullet and buy some reliable brand?Never again a Whirlpool, thats for sure. I pointed out to them that in the age of the internet, they wont go unpunished for this but theyre nothing if not shortsighted. An $800 machine requiring $475 worth of repairs and apparently soon to need another $500 worth of repairs. Whats wrong with this picture?

Whirlpool Cabrio - good consumer rating. Ive had it for 2 years. It does not clean well and the clothes does not smell clean even though I often clean the washer and leave the top open when Im not using it. Ive also had it service 3 times because the rotator keeps going off and makes a lot of noise. I bought an LG dishwasher for $1300 and it lasted 7 months and completely broke down less than a year and had to be replaced. After I bought a $400 Whirlpool. It does the same job and Ive had it for 2 years without any repairs.

Overall, I am happy with my Cabrio BUT we purchased a Whirlpool WTW7000DW0 Cabrio top loading washer w/ electronic touch panel in May 2016. We experienced water hammer from day one. I finally had enough yesterday and knowing that the plumbing could be suffering (15 year old condo), purchased 2 Sioux Chief MiniRester, Model 660-H arresters (Lowes at $9.99 each) and had a plumber install them today. I could have but am nursing a fractured rib. Long story short, they work perfectly. There is NO indication elsewhere in the unit that water is even entering the tub unless youre standing right beside it.Ive been told that hammer problems exist in ALL high efficiency washers, all are prone to this problem. I was also told by a Whirlpool support person that the Cabrio is a Samsung design and the pulsing of supply water off and on, over and over is normal operation. If I had been informed when purchasing that hammer is a common problem, I would have installed arresters from the get-go. At the very least, manufacturers should include arresters as a part of the sale; installers should make sure that every new installation includes arresters. All told, I am out just under $200.00 for new technology that really could have been engineered out in the beginning.

I had bought from S C Shah & Co, Mylapore a Whirlpool ac 1 ton split magicool dlx cop in March 2016 and installed in March 29 2016 by Cool Control System, kodambakkam From the installation period we had a cooling issue and informed Shah & Co, Mylapore where we bought the ac. They came and checked and informed Whirlpool customer care. Within two months i.e. in May 2016 of installation Whirlpool again uploaded/charged the gas (the service engineers told us this is due to hot summer). Though again we had a cooling issue, we were under the impression as this is due to summer as explained by the technician. After that rainy season came and we didnt use the ac.As we are in December when we complained Whirlpool they said this is due to the copper wire gas is leaking and it has to be replaced and informed that though under WARRANTY, the customer has to pay for replacement (we have used only the 3 mtr copper wire which came with the ac only. we have not used any our own copper wire). Whether WHIRLPOOL GIVES SUCH A QUALITY COPPER WIRE which has to be replaced within 9 months. Now they are informing that you are calling us after 6 months of gas charging, so we cannot service. If you could have called within 3 months we could have serviced you. BUT WE ARE UNDER WARRANTY. NOT EVEN AN YEAR FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE.Not responding to calls, disconnecting to the calls even if we call their Delhi number 011-49308500. Though under warranty they are not ready to do service and very rude saying, we cant do anything. So, if we buy WHIRLPOOL ac we have to beg them even for their technicians to visit our place. Or we have to do our own service EVEN UNDER WARRANTY. Their local toll free customer care numbers/service executives always give a recorded message saying they cannot service. SUCH A PATHETIC SERVICE.

Do not bother purchasing Whirlpool refrigerators. Bought mine new in November. The paint on the exterior has been chipping. They inform me that its a cosmetic issue and that they are not going to repair it. They told me to use touch up paint. The paint has chipped more than once and Im afraid this is going to be an ongoing issue. Its obviously a product defect (my last fridge lasted 27 years without incident). I dont do business with companies who dont stand behind the products they manufacture. These days its all about get their money and the hell with them once we do. Whirlpool warranty department (AIG) did not bother to do a complete repair and offer buy out at a 75% of my purchase price. My five year warranty premium cost was not refunded. I do not recommend this model be purchased by anyone. Whirlpool washes its hands on the quality and reliability of its product in US and that is a shame! A service life the unit should be at least 9 years with affordable maintenance cost.

We owned a Whirlpool Duet washer that went out in late December 2011. We bought another Whirlpool Duet washer on January 8, 2012. On July 31, 2012, it stopped working with the error message F24. In WV, Whirlpool contracts their insurance/warranty through ACE Appliance. We scheduled with ACE the next day. They came out on August 6, 2012. The repairman told me it would be 7-10 days for the part. The part was on back-order, so in reality it took 17 days before they returned. It was repaired on August 23, 2012. Today, September 17, 2012, the washer stopped working again with the same error: F24. Whirlpool will do nothing to replace the washer, even though it is less than a year old and we paid $900 for the washer. This is the second Whirlpool we have owned that has crashed. I have two small children (4 and 2) and I am due with number 3 in 3 weeks. While the washer was broken, I spent nearly $80 at the laundromat for washing only - I carried baskets of wet laundry home to dry. And now I get to repeat the same exact struggle less than a month after it was fixed. When asked, the customer service rep told me that no matter how many times it broke, all they would do is send a repairman. They never ever replace appliances regardless of the problem. I am unbelievably frustrated and I want to tell everyone that I possibly can to stay away from Whirlpool appliances! Do not buy them new! Their manufacturers warranty is a joke!

First of all, Whirlpool is fully aware of the problems with water heaters and intentionally places requirements on the consumer until they give up. This info from a distributor. I bought 30 gal. gas water heater 7 months ago. Six days ago the pilot light went out. Went to Lowes (purchased there) and bought a replacement. Wrong one. Returned to store and was told they dont stock repair parts, call factory. Monday called warranty number. They offers to send thermopile, it would arrive in 5 days. I paid $30 for overnight. Plumber installed new part. Still doesnt work. Whirlpool says have the plumber call them theyll walk him through troubleshooting. I ask, Whos paying the plumber? They reply, You are. Plumber calls Whirlpool. They tell him to clean the screen. He does. They tell him to disassemble the burner. I stop plumber. I ask Whirlpool, What if its not the burner? They reply, Then well troubleshoot something else. Meanwhile Im 5 days without hot water. I go to Lowes where heater was purchased. The manager thought it funny Im another victim. I ask, Why doesnt Lowes stock heater parts? He says because Whirlpool doesnt let them carry parts. Im beat. I surrender. Parts from Whirlpool would take another 5 days and theres no assurance itll work. Lowes refuses to assist.I go to Sutherlands and buy a $450 Rheem on recommendation from plumber. Manager from Sutherlands hears my sad story and writes on receipt: Any warranty failure and Sutherlands will replace water heater free. He signs his name on receipt. I pay plumber to swap out heaters. Anybody want a 7 month old Whirlpool water heater. Like new. Cheap! By the way... I originally went to a major appliance parts store asking for a thermocouple for a Whirlpool. The three guys at the counter started laughing Hey we got another one looking for Whirlpool parts. They didnt have them either. Lesson learned.

Four years ago, I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator - French doors (ice and water in the door) and freezer bottom drawer. Against everyone but the HH Greggs salesmans advice, I purchased the extended warranty as I had paid a large sum of money for the refrigerator. Within a year, I began experiencing problems with the ice maker. Over the next few years, I had to have it repaired/replaced an additional three times. Add to the whole mess the incompetency of the A & E Repairmen that required at least two visits each time to complete a repair and their inability to arrive during a 9 hour window, I stayed livid about my refrigerator for three long years. Finally, I demanded a replacement refrigerator under the lemon portion of my warranty. After numerous arguments, the warranty company offered me several different makes and models to pick to replace my hunk of junk. Stupidly thinking that my problems were related to one bad unit, I selected another Whirlpool only to have it completely crash a little over one year after acquiring it. I lost the food in it and am having to wait almost a month for the parts to arrive and the repairman to return. According to him, it will have to be completely rebuilt. I will never, never buy another Whirlpool!

Not the quality I expected with the purchase of a Whirlpool product. I want this door repaired or replaced at the expense of Whirlpool. Having paid over $600.00 for the product, I didnt expect no problems like this at all, poor design. The weight of the door is too heavy to support a hinge mount in plastic, its ridiculous. Now cooling is being wasted, runs constantly, and just not the quality I expected nor received.

The cabrio washer that we purchased in 2010 did a good job of cleaning the clothes but the case started rusting within 6 months. After service calls and e-mails and phone calls, there have been no helpful suggestions beyond buy a complete new case. I hesitate to do that because I am convinced there is a design flaw in the area where the soap dispenser is located which allows the soap to flow between the case and the drum and it eats away theinside of the case through the inadequate paint covering on the outside of the case. It is a mess. Now the instruction panel is bubbling and lifting. I carefully care for my equipment and have kept two washers over 15 years and they still were in good shape with cases still looking new. This is not something I am doing wrong. It is a piece of junk with a terrible paint job and it cost more than any washer I have ever had. I wish I had some recourse. I am on a fixed income and had hoped this would be the last washer I would have to buy. I have photos.

I bought a fridge from this company not even 14 months ago. Went away for a week and came home to a fridge and freezer of rotten food. The fridge had died - Im guessing not long after I had gone away by the look and smell of the food and house. I have had nothing but the run around ever since that day. Spoke to this person and then that person. The electrician confirmed that my fridge is completely dead because of the compressor. So they sent a report to Whirlpool and they have now confirmed that I will get a new fridge. Now Im being told that will take 7-14 days. So I have been left with no food whatsoever as well as no fridge. I have two kids and cant even buy shopping for my son to take to school. And now Im being told that I had 9 months left on the warranty for the fridge that died and that’s all I will get on a new fridge. Should I not receive a new warranty for a new fridge? And should they replace my food? Could really do with some feedback on this matter. Please help me.

The lower door closing cam has been replaced at least twice. The door continues to make a very loud noise when opening and closing. The refrigerator, a 2007 model came with the house I purchased in 2012. The refrigerator works very good, but the loud noise from opening and closing will wake a hibernating bear. The last repairman (from Sears) told me that the doors had been recalled, but I dont know who to contact or how to go about getting the replacement doors and getting them installed.I have a Home Warranty, and they sent Sears out twice to repair them, but after opening and closing 2-3 times, they go back to the loud noise. I have no idea where the refrigerator was purchased. I dont really want to rate my experience since I think the repairmen did all they could. I bought my Whirlpool refrigerator model #ed5fvgxws07 in Oct. 2011. One year seven months later, I am experiencing my 1st breakdown. The refrigerator side is failing to cool. I have replaced the temp control thermostat and I am waiting to see if this fixes the problem. I have researched and checked the other possible problems and it is unlikely that it is a defrost fail as there is no frost build-up in the freezer section. And, I checked the heater element and there is continuity through the element. If this does not fix the problem, I believe that there is one other possible solution. I dont have $300.00 to give to an appliance repairman. Maybe I should give it a rap on the side as one other customer said a repair person did to make it work for a few more weeks.

Finally the repairman notified Whirlpool it could not be fixed and I was told by Whirlpool that it would be replaced under the warranty and I should wait for a call back, which never came. I called back after a few days to speak with the Exchange department and Mindy told me that I had to pay $1600 to get the exchange! When I asked to have the call escalated she flatly refused! You can only control it via touchscreen Which, when the software runs into blocks, it is impossible to troubleshoot efficiently, you just have to wait until it completes its rebooting. It is very frustrating to spend hundreds of euros in a device you just cant control when it crashes. Horrible programming made for a horrible user experience. You have the feeling of not being able to use it or fix, it is like having a mobile phone or computer Which only works on what appears to be a random logic. The errors displayed on the screen are often vague and the user troubleshooting manual is just plain short. We will return it without doubt and dont recommended ever buying this device.

I have a whirlpool water heater. This is the third or 4th time that the upper sensor failure code has come on. Our water heater turns off all the time and we have to fire it back up. In the past few months, it has started pouring water out from the long tube on the side of it anytime we turn it on for more then 10 minutes. The last time we called a plumber, I was trying to get a quote on a tankless water heater. Ive been so fed up with ours and I thought that would be a better route to go. The plumber explained the negative sides to a tankless water heater and explained that our water heater was a really nice, really expensive and fairly newer model. I told him that I had just gotten it about four years ago. He said he could just fix that one. So after looking at it, he acted as if he didnt know what an upper sensor was and told me it was under warranty and that I should call for the parts. Every time we have called for the parts, they send the same box thing on the front of the heater and every time, it doesnt fix it for long before it says the same thing. And now, like I said, the water heater has now added the problem of pouring water out of it. I need help. I dont know what to do. Im tired of not knowing if Ill have hot water or if the water heater is going to pour out water. Im pregnant and worried that if we cant get this fixed Ill continue to have this problem along with having a baby to take care of. Please help.

There has to be a design flaw for this to continually happen. I paid for a repair man one time but he did nothing different from what I am doing. I cant afford the prices they charge. Shame on Whirlpool for making inferior products.

I had a Whirlpool oven for 14 years. It worked great and the control board burned up during the cleaning cycle. I purchased a new whirlpool oven that did not have an exposed bottom heating element. It takes way too long to preheat and if during baking, you need to change the temperature, it starts preheating again and the displayed temperature is lower than the original temperature that was set at the beginning; and it takes too long for the oven to reach the new temperature. This appears to be the result of the bottom heating element being hidden. Heating and maintaining a consistent temperature is far more important than being able to clean the bottom of the oven especially when this is a self-cleaning oven.Updated on October 20, 2015: This is an update on my last review. I was cooking a cake at 350 degrees and when the designated time was up, I opened the door to check for doneness. The cake needed to cook a little longer, so I closed the door and the temperature immediately went to 300 degrees and started preheating again which of course caused the oven to get too hot for the cake I was baking. Who is designing these ovens??? Certainly not a person that cooks on a day-to-day basis. I will never buy a Whirlpool oven again.

My husband and I purchased a Whirlpool over the range microwave in 2005, model number MIX155XHPT-1 and serial number TR S 30 32419. At first the top vent broke then the opening side broke off. Then the whole side of the closing door broke off. Now the whole door wants to fall off. I would have never expected this from Whirlpool, but it happened.

Bought the model before this just over 2 years. Conveniently it broke just after the warranty expired. I chose not to buy a extended warranty as my last fridge from KitchenAid is over 20 years old and never had a single problem with and still operates like NEW. I can’t say that for my Whirlpool which was very expensive. It has been with an issue within the ice maker for over 8 months. Every computer board has been replaced twice with no fix. Then tried to replace the cooling fan within the ice maker unit seven times. Whirlpool could not find the right part, as the wiring had changed mid model and have no record of when it was changed and what models affected.Certified Whirlpool technician was great and so apologetic. I had taken 7 Mondays off to meet him to only have the wrong part time and time again. Whirlpool support tech line basically said he was wrong, yet I witnessed all visits and my 3 plug fan unit did not match Whirlpools newer part that was 2 plugs. I was not happy missing so much work because Whirlpool is incompetent. Finally my tech ordered a whole new ice maker, including the cooling fan. Lo and behold, Eighth time, parts did not match. He again called Whirlpool tech support and reordered another set one final time. Another Monday to find that this time the parts did fit, but cooling fan still did not work. He called Whirlpool tech support again. They started to trace wires one by one.Whirlpool tech support said it was a bad or broken wire somewhere in the cavity of the fridge buried in insulation and was not replaceable. In other words I have a $3000+ refrigerator that is useless. Whirlpool said they would replace the unit. But when I called, they said since I didnt have an extended warranty, they would prorate it and it’s going to cost me over $1000 of my money to to replace due to a manufacturer wiring defect after only 2 years. What the Heck, I was willing to pay to fix it, but Whirlpool can’t fix it. Don’t buy a Whirlpool product as they are Junk and do not stand behind their BRAND!!! No matter who I talked to, they kept falling back to their word track of it’s my fault I didn’t get an expensive extended warranty, yet they can’t fix a wire they installed incorrectly.Wires don’t just break after 2 years. You get longer warranties for cars for the Love of God. I asked them to just send me the money they were willing to put towards a new Whirlpool fridge, so I could buy a Real Brand that stands behind their products like KitchenAid. Of course the answer was NO. Buyer Beware, don’t buy a Whirlpool anything. Did I mention my Whirlpool certified technician was having a Whirlpool dishwasher issue that Whirlpool can’t fix and that’s his profession. Same type of response. Don’t Buy Whirlpool Products, they are Junk and you will get No support from Whirlpool!!!

We bought all new appliances, and within a year, the range and microwave are not working correctly and the refrigerator has rust on the doors. We called about the rust on the doors and were told that it is not stainless steel as advertised and rust is not covered. Fortunately, we purchased an extended warranty, which will cover the repairs to the oven and microwave. Well see how it goes. Stainless steel appliances really arent stainless steel, so they are misrepresenting their products to many people.

Perhaps I am fortunate, but when I read complaints regarding products on the Consumer Affairs site, it makes me wonder because I never have any problems whatsoever with anything I buy. The only time was with a cheap $20 dvd player which lasted just a year. I was given a 10 year old whirlpool fridge 7 years ago. It still works great. Very cold freezer and great features such as frost free freezer. Also Whirlpool Estate budget line dishwasher, washer and dryer ten years ago. No problems! Why do people spend thousands on refrigerators, washers, dryers, and dishwashers? Just buy the basics. It is not important to buy french door refrigerators, dishwashers with stainless-steel interiors, washers/dryers on pedestals and the like. You are only impressing shallow people. All in all, I will always purchase no-frills Whirlpool appliances. They are the best! And you can be like me and have no credit card bills and plenty of money in the bank with the result of low stress.

I was doing a routine refrigerator cleaning and the glass I was cleaning absolutely shattered all over my kitchen. Shards of glass are everywhere including my disposal. I called Whirlpool and talked to a customer service rep. Of course, this is not under warranty. So I asked to speak with a supervisor. All I could get from her is Sorry, youre disappointed. We can replace that part for $87.71. It has taken me over two hours to clean up all the glass. I wouldnt be upset if I had mishandled the glass, but it broke when I was drying it with a towel! I’m wondering if anyone elses glass shattered in the same fashion.

Purchased a new Whirlpool washer and it has the sensor-- like I am too stupid to decide on the level of water to match my load-- not sure why I got an agitator because I am the only thing it agitates. The clothes just sit there in its own filth and then go in the dryer. Actually put a stained item in the wash to remove the stain and instead it just spread to other clothing and has stained and possibly damaged them. Washing the same clothes 3 times is not saving energy, water and time for me.

I bought a portable Whirlpool dishwasher on Jan.16 2016. We didnt buy extended warranty. After all, it was suppose to be new, should outlive us. It wont drain, my husband took the top off to see if he could fix it since I was told by Sears that no repair person is available in our area. I am only 10 Km from Saint John N.B. He found he couldnt take the front or back off, its all one piece, he is 84 years old. Under the top, it shows different colored screws, which tells us it was a used one or had been re-conditioned. I am very disappointed in Sears, have been a customer for many years. Everything in my house is Kenmore except for the dishwasher, only because they had no Kenmore. I might add that it wasnt used much. Its just two elderly people and only used when we have company. I cant afford another one. I bought this one from 1,000.00 I won on Lotto Max. I am so upset about this. Appliances should last longer. My Kenmores have.

Whirlpool Gold Series Dishwasher - I wish I had discovered this website BEFORE I bought this piece of trash last year to replace our antique Maytag that ran like a champ for 10 years. But after 10 year the gaskets wore out and it started leaking. Even at ten years old that Maytag cleaned and dried better than this brand new Whirlpool. My complaints are the same as everybody else here. Doesnt clean even slightly soiled dishes and then it doesnt dry any of the silverware, or plastic pieces like measuring cups and tupperware. All are totally wet and need to be hand dried. So, why am I cleaning the dishes beforehand and drying them after??? The only good thing I can say about this unit, is that it is quiet. But, as my husband said, so is a brick, and a brick would be just about as good at washing and drying our dishes. Buyers Beware!!! This is a terrible product. Turned me against Whirlpool appliances forever.

I purchased a new home and then purchased 4 appliances, all Whirlpool Gold. In less than a year, the stoves electronic ignition and the microwave hood keypad went out. Since they were under warranty, a repairman replaced a bunch of parts and now they are working fine. One month after the refrigerator was out of warranty, the water line to the ice cube maker split about an inch and a half and water would spew out onto the hardwood floor under the unit. We were on vacation for all that month and didnt see any damage until one day there was a puddle in front of the refrigerator. When we pulled it out, we saw that the floor was ruined under the unit, the cabinet next to it black with mold and of course, the line had to be replaced. Whirlpool wasnt interested in the fact that the refrigerator had probably still been under warranty when the split occurred, only that we hadnt reported it before the warranty expired. Next to go was the water seal that goes on the inside of the door of the dishwasher. I was running it about a month after the refrigerator debacle and water came spewing out of the side. The seal had come out and nothing was stopping the water from exiting out the side of the door. Thats 4 for 4 in less than 15 months. I will never buy a Whirlpool product. They couldnt be any worse.

I purchased this monster in 2012 and after six years of enduring not enough water to actually wash the clothes for years, now the bearings have gone out making it sound like a jet engine is in my family room when it spins. After researching the bearing issue, I find it will cost $250 to $300 to have them replaced. Its also a common problem in this model even when the washer isnt at all worn out and old. That combined with the fact that my clothes dont smell clean and some blankets come out not even wet at all, Im done. I wont ever buy a water efficient washer again. Churning the dirty underwear around with a few cups of water isnt acceptable. NOTE: The bearings left months after the extended warranty expired. Just like clockwork. It is now junk and I have to buy a new one. I will never purchase Whirlpool anything ever again and I will also tell anyone who will listen about my experience. My house was built 20 years ago, with all Whirlpool appliances; built-in microwave over the electric oven, gas cooktop, and under counter dishwasher. The oven just gave out. Everything else works fine! Let me repeat that. I have a 20 yr old Whirlpool microwave that works just fine! Well, since the oven broke, we thought, maybe its time to update all the appliances. We went to the large appliance store from which our original ones came, and were told that all microwaves are now made in China by Sharp, and are crap!! Wed be lucky to get 3 years out of one. My jaw hit the ground. I couldnt believe the appliance salesman was telling us this! In fact, the appliance repairman that diagnosed my oven to be unrepairable ($100 trip charge, thank you very much) didnt have much good to say about the newer refrigerators... They contain much less Freon and dont seem to hold up as well... So, I guess Ill just keep my old appliances going as long as possible! How can appliance manufacturers stay in business!

I purchased a new Whirlpool range and had it fitted for propane. I used the stove daily and within two weeks, the temperature started fluctuated constantly. Several things I tried to cook ended up burned. I called Whirlpool to ask them for a possible solution. They wanted to send a repair person. I live on an island and knew it would take forever to get someone here. My appliance person said it could be only two things - the temperature probe or the computer board. I purchased both things and had them shipped to my address at my expense. It cost $257.00 to get the items. My appliance man on the island installed the two new items. I was hoping that would fix the problem. I am sad to say it did not! The oven still fluctuates wildly. I set the temp for 350 degrees and it shoots up to 450 degrees. I turn the temp down to 325 and it settles in at 350 for a period of time. Then, without any warning, it will shoot back up to 500 degrees. I have to open the door and let the temp back down to 350. This is how I have to bake and cook with this disaster. Wish I never purchased a Whirlpool appliance!

Technician come on the service day and told me that it is $120.00 for the service call and Labor and parts are extra, first of all $120.00 to come to my house is first rip off, that is the reason Whirlpool on their website do not give any estimates on the service call. After checking the appliance he said main assembly is bad and needs to replace and that will cost more than the original purchase price - what a ripoff. He asked me to contact Whirlpool, they may help since this is the known issue with this model. Called Whirlpool and mentioned and they said it is too old to continue to operate so they cannot help. Ended up trashing the 2.5 year old dishwasher for the new GE dishwasher. Never buy a Whirlpool ever again even on sale. I purchased my Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator from Lowe’s in Rockledge, FL. This was my third purchase after returning an LG Refrigerator as well as a Samsung refrigerator for having multiple defects! My Whirlpool Refrigerator purchased June 2014 has motherboard replaced that showed obvious evidence of factory board flaws when boards were manufactured. Top mounted ice maker drips so much water it fills my veggie draws with water ruining my food. Mold is present inside my ref now from constant leaks. Drawers were replaced by tech also due to ill-fitting design during first few months. Water will not dispense in door after one year, gave up using it. This is a horrible and very expensive appliance wrought with POOR DESIGN FLAWS. WHIRLPOOL does not care about its consumers. Their engineers must be some of the worst in the world. Our old 70-year-old kerosene powered refer in the Bahamas is still making ice, yet most modern day refs are like buying cheap home computers that constantly need service to keep them running. It’s a lifetime investment with $89 first service visit to determine problems then weeks of waiting for parts and second visit for the repair to be completed until next electronic malfunction. Ive read the reviews on this appliance. First of all the all of the washing machine being manufactured are designed to save energy and water. The water is loaded in the machine based on the WEIGHT of the clothes. the washing machines no longer have the features to (small, medium, large load) so the consumer can fill the machine. Having said that, most sales representatives will tell you appliances manufactured today are no longer designed to last 15-20 years, although they are way more expensive than the workhorses made in the past.I got rid of my fancy Samsung washing machine because it broke down at least 4 times within the first year of purchase and decided to go with the whirlpool because Ive had a workhorse in the past that was worked excellent. I love the fact the washers no longer have the agitator in the middle which allow me to wash my king sized bedding without the machine becoming unbalanced or making a lot of noise. So far the Whirlpool Cabrio washer and dryer is working very well. Id rather give the Whirlpool a chance any day over the new johnny come latelys, which are more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes but are failing miserably in performance. I also love my Cabrio 8.8 dryer. They both work better than the Samsung models I got rid of.

I bought what I thought was a great washing machine. It is a top loading Cabrio from Whirlpool. The machine leaves white residue on all my dark clothing. It is a disaster. I am following washing instructions exactly, using HE detergent, loading the right amount, I even tried using PODS. I tried different temperature water, different cycles of washing and spinning and the same thing happens. I had an old Maytag that broke that cleaned beautifully. This thing is a piece of garbage and I would love to send it back if they would let me. DO NOT BUY IT. I AM BEGGING YOU, YOU WILL BE VERY UPSET.

To Whirlpool Headquarters, Our message to those whom wish to listen is that your product is only as good as the service company you employ to handle service and repairs. Our most recent experience with A&E Factory Service has us convinced we will never buy Whirlpool appliances again. After a two week wait for our scheduled appointment we were dealt a most unprofessional diagnosis as to what may be the problem and then told that to service our appliance would result in overtime and that simply wouldnt be happening at this visit. The appointment time was 12 to 4 PM the repairmen was here at 2:30 pm only for five minutes. We have spoken with a Michael ** with your company who advised us to wait for a call from A&E which no call was ever received. We will be sharing our disgust with Home Depot where we purchased our refrigerator and alerting them to avoid further customer dissatisfaction by no longer promoting Whirlpool in our area. We are level headed and fair people just not able to grasp that a company as big as yours cant do better than this.

We purchased a Whirlpool upright frost-less freezer (model # EVL201NXRQ05)
We purchased a Whirlpool upright frost-less freezer (model # EVL201NXRQ05) in October of 2008. So, you see, it is not even four years old. A few months ago I noticed that some things in the freezer were very soft. I looked at the back of the freezer and there was some ice buildup around the area where the coils are located. I took everything out of the freezer and removed the panel over the coils. There was major ice buildup on the coils. I completely defrosted it and dried it out. I restarted it and it seemed to be working okay. But a few days ago, when I got something from the top shelf of the freezer, it was not even frozen. So, here I go again. I removed everything from the freezer and have defrosted it again. However, this time, as soon as I turned it back on, the ice started building up on the coils immediately. It is impossible to contact anyone at Whirlpool that gives a crap. We have also been having problems with our Whirlpool Gold refrigerator. We have spent over $250 on it and it still is not working properly. I would love to just throw them in a ravine, but we have spent a lot of money on these appliances. We thought that Whirlpool was supposed to be number one in appliances. What a huge mistake we have made and it is costing us dearly.

This is the information I tried to send to Whirlpool only to get a message
This is the information I tried to send to Whirlpool only to get a message that it was undeliverable: I purchased a set of whirlpool cabrio washer and dryer on 10-23-2013 (model numbers WTW8540BW, and WED8500BW). On 01-25-15 the washing machine failed to power up just over 2 months out of the standard warranty. This wasnt the low end cheap models. With cash discounts we paid over $1600.00 for the set. After a $70.00 dollar charge to the repairman we are told that the unit has a bad electric control board (part # W10761026). And unfortunately the part is on back order until March 1st, 2015 as of right now. So if and when the repairman gets the part and installs it, I get to pay him an additional $260.00. My family has always been such a dedicated Whirlpool appliance purchaser but this is wrong.Oh I almost forget, now I have to rent a washing machine at a cost of $55.00 per month until mine is repaired. I believed I was purchasing Whirlpool quality. The type of quality that doesnt need an extended warranty because Whirlpool is made to last correct? Please assist me in making this situation right and restore my faith in the quality I was raised with in Whirlpool products.

We have a Whirlpool Gold fridge that was manufactured in 2009. MOD: GS2KVAXS01. SER: HRY0570897 and it has not been cooling properly for the last few weeks. Some days it is fine, the next day not and we have had to throw our a lot of rotting food. We got the fridge checked out and were told the Electronic Control Box for the fridge was not working. My question is, why would a Whirlpool Gold fridge that costs $1800 or so have such a large issue with 3 years? Its practically a brand new fridge and Im outraged that a large part of the fridge is not working. I understand parts break and there is warranty but its pretty bad that after the warranty expires the control box would become defective. I have been a loyal Whirlpool customer and solely buy the brand and this break upsets me very much. Especially since replacing the part will cost me $400 plus labor, we are talking about a part costing 30% of the total fridge cost! That is ridiculous. I am hoping there is something you can do to rectify this, as a fridge manufactured by what I thought was a great company should not cause such an issue and I would like to continue to buy Whirlpool products but not if this is the case.We have called Whirlpool customer service many times to be ignored, berated, told I cannot speak to a supervisor and nothing will be done. Never in my entire life have I ever known a company so horrible to exist. I have had bad service before but this takes the cake. Plus, no company that I have ever dealt with would ignore you and not provide any discount or remedy. I cant believe this is a big brand with the way they carry on. You would assume they would be some one person owned company who doesn’t have a penny to spare. I don’t respect this company at all and expect a resolution because they are truly insulting in all the channels.

I bought the Whirlpool Cabrio 5.3 cubic foot washing machine to replace a Samsung equivalent machine. I am so extremely disappointed with it. As a mother of nine (seven of them boys) I need a quality machine. Unfortunately this is not one. The clothes come out of the machine just as dirty as they went in. The pants still have dirt on the knees. I think a rinse in the sink would yield better results. I use the highest soil setting, warmest water fabric will allow, and exclusively Tide detergent. I only fill the tub with half a load (completely voiding the value of large capacity) and yet still have to run clothes through twice.I really don’t have time for this. All the kids clothes have to be inspected before drying. I wish I could go back in time and keep my Samsung which was recalled. I would rather take the risk of an exploding machine than deal with this one any longer. Unfortunately, after spending over $1000 on the washer (and buying the matching dryer) I’m stuck with this useless machine. I hope others don’t make the same mistake I did.

We purchased our 5 door/drawer frig in April. We have experienced two glitches when it failed to make ice for 24-48 hour periods. Now the freezer has stopped cooling. The first time the repairman came out he refused to move the refrigerator because the wheels would not roll properly. We had to purchase a sheet of thin plywood to put under the wheels so he could roll it. (We have vinyl flooring - the wheels just dont lift the unit enough to clear the floor.) When he returned 6 days later, he said the compressor was leaking and was not able to send enough Freon to the freezer section to cool it. The compressor is on back order and we have not been given a timeframe for its availability.

I have replaced the damper control unit three times the last three years. The part begins to fail after nine months in used. The temperature becomes too cold in the refrigerator and the food started frozen because the damper door wont closed as cold air flows from freezer to the refrigerator. It adds to the displeasure that Whirlpool is not taking care of the shipping cost even the part is under warranty.

2010 upright Whirlpool freezer - Door is totally bubbled in rust. Warranty Plan not covered for this. Whirlpool Corp Serv. Dept said they are sorry but it is not a functional problem. Cost of repairs on 3-yr-old freezer that cost $600.00 would be $732.62. This freezer was rated CR Best Buy in Sept 2009 which was why I purchased it. I paid $81.00 for repair tech from Whirlpool today who could do nothing either. Whirlpool knows that this has been a problem as consumers have complained about this rust in Google, some saying they will never buy a Whirlpool product again. Same here!

French Door model WRF989SEAE01 - Fridge runs very loud after 3 weeks. Ice build up inside of fridge - back left. After numerous repairs, dealer replaced unit with new. Three weeks, loud noise again. After 7 months, the ice maker has quit, the freezer is thawing items, the fridge part is not cold enough (all settings have been boosted). Now Im concerned it is going to completely fail or burn our new house down. All new Whirlpool appliances in new home and this thing is proving to be extremely unreliable. Dealer is now out of loop (gave up) and told us to deal directly with Whirlpool. After 2 units and same issues, it has to be a design flaw. Can anyone start to move on a class action lawsuit or do I wait until it blows up or burns down the house? We are of retirement age, no kids, and our appliances have had NO ABUSE. Another acquaintance has same fridge about 2 years old and it has completely quit.

I bought the Whirlpool WTW 5000DW1 washer and dryer to go with it. Within the first 2 weeks the plastic handle broke on the dryer. Ive been using the corner of the plastic handle ever since to open the dryer. The washer is the worst washer I have ever purchased in my life. The tub doesnt fill up over the clothes half the time. It is perfectly balanced on the floor but it always bounces around and you cannot open it to rearrange the clothes because they lock the lid. The only option is to try to hold it and wait for it to finish or start over by pressing the button for at least 3 seconds. I have had a few items get shredded by it and a lot of times the clothes dont get cleaned and rinsed properly. Even on 2 rinse option. Just the fact that it has a 2 rinse option is a big red flag. It is supposed to be a energy saver and water saver but that isnt true. If you have to wash and rinse the clothes twice because it has spots from the detergent still on the sheets, something just isnt right. Whirlpool shouldnt even put a product like this on the market. I have owned many Whirlpool products before this but this is the last Whirlpool product I will ever buy. Obviously Whirlpool doesnt test its products or care about quality.

Our Whirlpool Duet Washer pair is 2.5 yrs old. The washer didnt work at first, but a repairman found the problem and fixed it right up. They have not broken. The dryer has been fine and we have had them stacked for most of the time without any issues. My problem sounds minor compared to those others listed here, but this thing is ruining all our white or light colored clothes. They go in white, and come out covered with splotchy, dirty looking spots literally all over them! They werent that kind of dirty when they went in. It’s the oddest thing, like it makes dirt. Reading some of these concerns makes me wonder if it has a mold problem inside somewhere, and that is what is ruining our clothes. Tax return is coming and it is going. End of story.

I dont see any reason to replace the refrigerator, but I cannot stand the deteriorating condition of the doors. If I replace it, I will not buy a Whirlpool or any brand made by Whirlpool. The rust is not just a discoloration, it is actually rough to the touch and is getting worse day by day. Product: Whirlpool Gold Series, Model WRX988SIBM01: Purchased 2014 at Lowes. 2nd day after delivery, called Whirlpool, refrigerator not working properly, freezer drawer will not close, condensation on outside. Sent person that delivered the refrigerator to fix problem, freezer had frozen ice behind each drawer approximately 2 inches that would not allow drawers to close. Delivery person used hair dryer to melt ice and adjusted drawers. Still periodically have to physically remove ice build up to allow drawers in freezer to seal properly. Ice maker stopped working, makes no ice at all, ice comes from inside refrigerator not from freezer, bad design.Today woke up to freezer drawers completely thawed and had to throw away all food, panel shows temperature at -2*. All food thawed and unable to be cooked/used. Called Whirlpool could not send someone until next Tuesday (4 days). We are a family of 5 and cannot wait that long. Unfortunately have called 3 other appliance companies only to find that refrigerator has to be repaired by special technicians! This is our first Whirlpool, bought because made in America, have been very disappointed with our $2500.00 purchase. Not sure that we will ever purchase another Whirlpool product, our inclination will be to buy less expensive product and choose to replace as opposed to paying recurring service calls + parts and labor.

I was under the impression Whirlpool washers were good. Mine always goes off balance and quits. I carefully redistribute the load several times to get it to finish (start over). Sometimes it works fine from the get-go, but not often enough. It is now 2 years old and if I were wealthy, Id shove it to the curb. There is little to like with an appliance that often must be adjusted and re-started. I will try Samsung next. It seems that American brands are not reliable. I have no special needs and will consider reliability above all. The name Whirlpool would be a deal breaker for me. I cannot abide my Whirlpool washing machine as it is more of an aggravation than something useful. Stay away from Whirlpool washing machines. They (at least mine) require the load to be balanced to a microgram. Appliances should just work and not require fiddling with.

We are on our 3rd washer and second dryer in 10 years. Our latest replacement (Whirlpool Duet Washer and Dryer) was purchased 3 months ago and is already broken and now we have been without a washer for a whole month. Not only do they have issues with the control panel and latch, but they smell. The dryer also had a control panel issue. Trying to get our units fixed presented even more problems and wrong parts would come in, with weeks going by without parts/service. Apologies and sympathies expressed on the phone are not enough. When you buy a matching set and only one breaks, you tend to replace the matching unit, which we regret and we went back and forth with our washer and dryer. I would never recommend a Whirlpool product after this. We finally got a replacement today and due to more poor communication on their end, they could not hook up. My new washer sits in the laundry room, and I hate it before I even get it hooked up.

We purchased this machine new and took delivery on 5/21/11. We did not start using this until late August of 2011. In late November we noticed a loud noise from the washer. When we contacted the sales company that sent out a repair person who informed us the bearings were defective. We have been told the parts are on back order for another 2-4 weeks. It has already been 4 weeks since they were out. Whirlpool was no help. They first claim we must have overloaded the machine, then relented saying that things happen. Either way I am without a washing machine we paid $1000.00 for another month; yet they will not extend my warranty at least for the time my machine is down. I am now worried about the damage that this unit may have caused to my new home due to water leakage, let alone the added expense to due my laundry since I must now use a service to provide for a washing machine I own.

Before a year was up after purchasing 4 Whirlpool appliances for our kitchen, our refrigerator needed a new compressor. Of course, they covered the cost because it wasnt a year old yet. After much complaining, they gave me a whopping extra 3 months coverage, until Jan. 2014. Now we have water leaking on the floor and ice collecting on the bottom of the freezer drawer. What a piece of junk! I had sent an e-mail to Whirlpool after the compressor situation telling them that I would never buy from them again and would have nothing good to say about them. No one responded. Goes to show that Whirlpool could care less about their customers satisfaction. Never again will I buy anything Whirlpool makes. 2 years ago, we remodeled our kitchen. We replaced with all Whirlpool appliances. WHAT A MISTAKE! Our ice maker went crazy 1 month ago and now our dishwasher almost caught fire Memorial Day weekend while we were away! Thermal Fuse and stainless interior prevented us from losing our house to fire but really Whirlpool, you spend that kind of money and all appliances are breaking before theyre even 3 yrs old! My husband is very good at fixing things but when he diagnosed dishwasher, he said he has to find a way to fix wires in control panel because melted insulation. Now I am afraid of it. So if you purchase Whirlpool, expect maybe 2.5 to 3 yrs service and think of them like a disposable lighter, use it and throw away.
