We purchased a dishwasher for $650 and within a very short period of time, the upper rack was so squeaky that it was intolerable. Service guys came and replaced the rack and wheels and all was well until a few months passed and it happened again. At that point, it was outside of the warranty, so we called upon our extended warranty we bought through Whirlpool. Guess what? That warranty doesnt cover the racks. So they referred us back to Whirlpool. They told us we had to pay for it ourselves. After being treated like a ping pong ball several times, we ended up paying about $150 for labor for another guy to come out and replace the racks again. Whirlpool agreed to pay for the parts. A few months later, we again have a squeaky upper rack that is so loud it wakes people up in our house and its less than two years old at this point. Weve been sold a LEMON!! Just got off the phone with a supervisor at Whirlpool who said they cant do anything about it and wont acknowledge we have a lemon. When I told her I was going to take this as far as I need to to resolve it, even if we have to go to court, she laughed out loud at me. We will never again buy a Whirlpool product. Our LG appliances have been great however.

Whirlpool Cabrio Model WTW6500WW1 - Have had good luck with previous Whirlpool Washers so thought I would purchase this one 2 years ago from Menards. Paid more than I normally would and thought it would be worth the extra money. Not so.......As many others, it has a foul odor that will not go away and now sounds like a freight train in the house. Called Whirlpool about this issue and parts are not covered. Total cost of parts including the tool that is needed for this repair is $187.00 not including shipping. Whirlpool has lost my business moving forward as like many others, Im sure. Very disappointed!

I have owned a Whirlpool Cabrio HE WTW6400SW3 for two years and have had nothing but issues from the start. Control panel was replaced twice under warranty. Also the clothes (socks underwear) were under the tub blocking the drain. This is not covered under the warranty. I was told by the repairman that this is the usual issue. He told me they took the front loader design and just stood it up with no protection from garments and coins getting under the tub, through the under tub filter often and into the drain pump. You are kidding me? Almost $1000 for this washer and its so ill designed. I have read forums that this has been an ongoing issue for several years yet Whirlpool continues to build these. I dont vent to forums often but just now I finished removing the tub to remove 2 socks and 7 cents. Also, I had to remove the drain pump and found another 16 cents inside it. So far the pump has not been ruined but this time water is coming out from the machine so will probably be ordering another pump for it as well. The wife wants it out of the house tomorrow and not another cent spent on it. But it is only two years old. What do you do? If you are reading this because you are searching for a new washer do not purchase a Whirlpool! I have gotten nothing but grief and was put off by their customer service dept as well. I guess after fielding so many calls about the same thing they have been told to just put all the calls off as no big deal. I am sure Whirlpool is making a killing off the sales on this unit. The claims made during the sale convinced me. What a joke. Look around the internet and you will find hundreds if not thousands of the same issues.

Having spent over RS 40000 on a so-called quality product one does not expect to spend nearly 20000 within the first two years of the purchase. 1. As soon as the warranty got over the PCB (costing 3000) broke down. 2. This replacement had a 3 MONTH warranty. Exactly after 9 months again the PCB breaks down along with leakage of gas. The service team asks us to buy a stabilizer to ensure that no such issues occur as they attribute these breakdowns to voltage fluctuations which are not of any precedence in Delhi. Also the product I am using was sold to me as a stabilizer-free working. 3. I made the suggested investments 4 months later the fan and motor of the freezer stop working. Imagine so much repair work on a new equipment. I have been writing to them yet all that they say in response is we are looking into the matter. NO ONE SHOULD BUY WHIRLPOOL REFRIGERATORS.

Whirlpool’s water heater coupler. Our plumber came to our home and explained how there was a problem with our type of water heater from Whirlpool that had been sold from Lowe’s between 2000 and 2006. We purchased ours in 2004. I have the receipt. Our plumber stated the underneath screen was clear and in good shape. He also said they had other water heaters with the same type of problem and those companies had provided the new part free and free shipping due to the suit. Whirlpool has not. We have been without hot water for a couple of days and we are hoping to have the piece by tomorrow. Since this suit has already been dealt with, then how do I get my money back from Whirlpool for being dishonest with requiring me to pay? Do I need to file something? I have followed the links and I have been researching it and our model number and serial match the product that was found faulty.

After 16 months the Whirlpool refrigerator Model number: #WRT311SZDW00 goes out. While trying to use extended warranty Whirlpool states it will be 4 to 6 week before a technician can come out. YES- Weeks not days. Now Whirlpool states they are unable to find a technician in my area and in order to get it fixed I will need to hire the tech and seek reimbursement from them for the repair. However prior to the repair they will need to approve the repair. In the mean time I am renting a refrigerator at my cost. They lost a customer for life!!! Question- What is the purpose of the warranty? Model number: #WRT311SZDW00

My Whirlpool washer broke down on July 06, 2014. I contacted the local supplier (Unicomer Trinidad) on July 07, 2014. Their technician came on July 10, 2014. He said that he will have to check and see if they have the part that is needed to repair the machine, they will contact me the next day. No one contacted me. I called on July 14, 2014. I was told that they do not have the part and it has to be order. It will take about 2 weeks for it to reach them, no one contacted me since. I contacted them (Unicomer Trinidad) on August 04, 2014. I was told that they do not have the part and it will take 2-3 weeks to reach them. I did filled out a form on the Whirlpool support site about 2 weeks ago but no one contacted me. I contacting Whirlpool US HQ by telephone, they gave me a number for Whirlpool Florida. I was told that they are responsible for my area but when I try calling the number, it was out of service. When I contacted back Whirlpool US HQ, I was told that they cannot help me check the website for the local representative which I could not find. This washing machine is 10 months old plus I took the extended warranty. It is a Duet WFW94HEXL2 washer.

If you are considering a Cabrio washing machine, save yourself the aggravation and buy something else. I purchased a Cabrio model WTW5640X from Lowes 2 years ago. It has been one disappointment after another. First, the clothes were coming out really wrinkled and not fully rinsed. I now routinely use the extra rinse cycle. I also started washing very small loads with hardly any soap (and yes, I use the HE detergent). That works for me, but its not practical for a household of more than 2.This machine is also not for anyone with kids or who expects to remove routine soils. It doesnt clean well. White socks start looking dingy after a few washes, and even the hot cycle with bleach doesnt get whites white. Now, the washer has started shutting off with the clothes still soaking wet. I can press the Drain & Spin cycle to get it finish the job, but that adds another 13 minutes to the 63 minutes it already takes for a regular cycle with the extra rinse. I so wish I had not replaced my 15 year old Kenmore.

I am posting to help anyone else avoid the purchase of this machine! The lid has cracked and now warped into a position where it wont stay down. Obviously a washer will not work without being in the locked position, so we have to put several heavy things on top of it just to run a load of laundry. This is not what we expect out of a washer that we paid $900 for only two years ago!!!! We contacted Whirlpool and they offered to fix it for $350. REALLY??? I SHOULD NOT have to pour money into a washer this expensive after two years!!!! I am so disappointed in Whirlpool, this was the entire reason we purchased Whirlpool products, to avoid stress of broken appliances. We wanted reliability for our busy family and instead we bought into more stress.

Bought a Whirlpool refrigerator December 2011, it is now 3 yrs. old, keeps shutting itself off. There is nothing under the troubleshooting area of the instructions for this. I called Whirlpool, they said I have to pay a tech to come here and troubleshoot. The warranty is 1 years, so after paying over 1k for an appliance, that gets you 1 year! I try to support American made, but no more Whirlpools here! I have all Whirlpool appliances, but Im guessing they wont last either. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service.

I recently renovated my kitchen and was so excited to have a new range. Loved the looks of this one so I bought it. I’ve had it a little over a year now, and am so disappointed. The “stainless” trim around the knob area is peeling and the AquaLift self-clean DOES NOT WORK! After the AquaLift cycle, there was a watery mess in the bottom of the oven which was difficult to clean up. It would have been better if I had cleaned it the conventional way. I’m not sure what to do at this point. The area where the trim peeled off looks awful and is very noticeable. Take my advice and do not buy!

As soon as we bought our new microwave, I saw what appeared to be hair on the door. I tried to scratch it off but I could not so I wondered if it was a crack but I could not feel it. As time went by, many other lines appeared but I could not feel them, just see them. After a couple of months, I noticed the first crack could be felt and then soon after that I could feel the other cracks. The first crack goes from the glass to the edge of the door and is wide open and the door edge kind of just hangs there. There are now about 20 cracks and the door will most likely fall apart soon. I called Whirlpool and they lied and said there have been no complaints at all about their doors. I read them some of the names here on this site having the same problem and the best they can do is offer to sell me a new door for $180. I told them that their product was defective and need to be recalled or something and he again tried to send me to the parts department to sell me a $180 door. I told him if that is how Whirlpool treats their customers, I would no longer buy anything from them.

After yet another frustrating round of laundry I have to write this. This has been the worst purchase (Cabrio 6800 Washer and Dryer) Ive ever made. Like other reviewers, I thought I was buying a high-end (high priced) product that has performed miserably from day one. Clothes do NOT come clean and for some reason, towels and dishcloths get ripped and shredded. All cycles (except sheets/towels) do not dispense enough water. Of course the one that does, results in the ripped and shredded problem. A little more than a year after purchase, we got an error code indicating the computer board was bad. Code would come up during initial cycle start and again at the start of the rinse cycle. Whirlpool basically said tough luck but shortly after, we started receiving offers in the mail to purchase an extended warranty for $175. Out of principle, I did not do this. Instead we discovered that we could push pause/start/pause/start multiple times and it would eventually keep going. We are still doing that on EVERY load of laundry (start and rinse cycles). I am not far from just biting the bullet and buying a new washer. It will not be a Whirlpool. One positive note is that the dryer has performed well, unlike some of the other reviewer experiences!

The control panel is difficult to use. It’s much too easy to switch power from the top oven to the bottom oven without knowing it. In addition, the plastic cover over the control panel makes it difficult to use especially if your fingers have flour or oil on them. It would be much easier and more accurate if knobs were used to control the all the functions instead of a electronic screen. Also, the clock has never operated accurately. Always runs fast. Temperature of the ovens is pretty accurate. However, it does take a long time to reach chosen temperature. Both ovens are large and able to handle an 18 inch round pizza dish. Other than the control panel, I’m pleased with both the gas stove top and both electric ovens.

I bought the W04H02 SKU Number 13219771. I decided to wait to write this review until Trail Appliances hauled away this piece of junk, which was this morning. I bought this fridge July 2013. In June 2015 the freezer first konked out, so I started using my deep freezer. Then by October the fridge went. I called in my repair guy, who told me he sees this all the time with this fridge and carries many motors for these garbage fridges in his vehicle at all times. So $375.00 later it worked for about 3 1/2 months. Just long enough until the warranty again ran out. At this time I started to read the reviews about Whirlpool, and I was so mad at myself for not reading the reviews first. All I can say is I would never ever recommend this product. I am glad to see this junk out of my home. I never wasted TIME CONTACTING WHIRLPOOL, AS BY THE REVIEWS I READ, THEY DONT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. THEY ARENT WORTH THE TIME.

We bought our Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum top-loading high efficiency machine Model #WTW8000BWG in Feb. 2015. It cleans well, and is easy to select water temp, spin speed, etc. It's simple to load, but because I am short, I have difficulty reaching stuff at the bottom of the tub. A stool is needed. LOL. In the 5 years that I have owned it, I have not needed any kind of service to be done on it. Very reliable. Whirlpool is the manufacturer of most appliances including the Kenmore dishwasher. Your products are made horribly for the mother board to go out in 2 years is ridiculous. I purchased a stainless steel dishwasher from Sears in August of 2014. 2 weeks ago I received error codes E2 and F2. A technician came out and the mother board needs replaced because water got into it... its a dishwasher. The cost to fix $465. I paid $673. The sales person informed me that I should have purchased the extended warranty because the appliances now only last a few years. Seriously... fleecing of America. This is my last purchase from Sears. We have bought appliances for 30 years from Sears and this is the end. They could care less about customer service or their products. Apparently everything is now made by Whirlpool who will also be getting a review. Shame on you for making poor products.

I was under the impression Whirlpool washers were good. Mine always goes off balance and quits. I carefully redistribute the load several times to get it to finish (start over). Sometimes it works fine from the get-go, but not often enough. It is now 2 years old and if I were wealthy, Id shove it to the curb. There is little to like with an appliance that often must be adjusted and re-started. I will try Samsung next. It seems that American brands are not reliable. I have no special needs and will consider reliability above all. The name Whirlpool would be a deal breaker for me. I cannot abide my Whirlpool washing machine as it is more of an aggravation than something useful. Stay away from Whirlpool washing machines. They (at least mine) require the load to be balanced to a microgram. Appliances should just work and not require fiddling with.

2 years ago, we remodeled our kitchen. We replaced with all Whirlpool appliances. WHAT A MISTAKE! Our ice maker went crazy 1 month ago and now our dishwasher almost caught fire Memorial Day weekend while we were away! Thermal Fuse and stainless interior prevented us from losing our house to fire but really Whirlpool, you spend that kind of money and all appliances are breaking before theyre even 3 yrs old! My husband is very good at fixing things but when he diagnosed dishwasher, he said he has to find a way to fix wires in control panel because melted insulation. Now I am afraid of it. We have had this Refrigerator for 3 years in December of 2016. To date, we have had to call a repairman (in February 2016) to replace a circuit board on the back of the refrigerator. That took 4 days, as the company sent the repairman the wrong parts. After that $300 repair, which we got at a discount because, the repairman felt bad that the company actually sent the wrong part. Since then we have taken it apart ourselves for several reasons: The freezer compartment filled up with a layer of ice and started to melt all over the floor, shutting the refrigerator off, (which then forced us to borrow coolers to store the food) until it could be repaired. The drain tube was completely blocked and in order to fix this problem, the tube had to be taken out and modified, according to the Internet videos we then watched. In order to make all of these repairs, the door, the shelves and baskets have to be removed, which is definitely not an easy thing to do at all. There are so many hidden screws and tabs that must be manipulated with tools and by hand to remove the doors, shelves and trays just to get where you need to be in order to make these repairs. With each repair, the ice maker and water dispenser started having problems, because, each time the refrigerator has to be shut down, it takes hours for it to re-set itself. Luckily my husband had the tools necessary, with videos on the Internet to assist us. However, once the first problem started, it was a snowball effect, literally. ALL of these problems have been identified by the manufacturer, however, nothing has been done. VERY POOR DESIGN!

Whirlpool Cabrio platinum washer (JUNK. DO NOT BUY). As mentioned in other complaints, the Cabrio top loading washer is garbage. Sound during the spin cycle is VERY LOUD because of a bearing noise. The clothes dont even get clean, lint all over dark clothes. I am the only person in the household so the machine did not get used as much as a family would use it. DO NOT BUY THE CABRIO WASHERS.

Whirlpool Refrigerator model #GI6FARXXY0 - Bought this refrigerator at Las Vegas Store #3305 Home Depot, 12/07/2012. July 2014, the ice maker stops working. I replace it with another Whirlpool ice maker and that one stops and leaks water from the dispenser all over my floor. Im on my 3rd ice maker and its not working! I have no warranty but still...a refrigerator should last longer than this at these prices. Im trying to research problems with this refrigerator and it looks like now the refrigerator model has been discontinued! Cant find anything on it. I paid close to $1,800.00 and it lasted 1 year 1/2? Its turning into a money pit. My question is... after looking at all of the complaints concerning ice makers and water leaks on Whirlpool refrigerators... why hasnt Whirlpool addressed this problem with a recall?? Obviously, these ice makers are faulty even the ones you replace them with. The repairman told me there are no warranties and they would not take returns on them. Whirlpool knows there is a problem and doesnt address it. Consumers should be protected from businesses that know of problems and refuse to take care of them with customers. They are still selling faulty Whirlpool ice makers??? I paid extra to have a working ice maker and expected it to last more than a year and half for the price of this French Door, bottom freezer, refrigerator did. The doors look terrible as they do not clean nicely and leave streaks. From the looks of some of these complaints, this may only be a beginning of problems with this appliance. Totally disappointed in this product. I know I wont be looking at any more Whirlpool products. Im disgusted with their faulty products and no accountability. If theres a recall, count me in!

We thought we were going to love it. It has two bottom freezers so the capacity is fabulous, but the ice maker location subtracts shelf space. Love the French doors, but we can never find anything quickly. The biggest issue is the popping noises it makes that are sleep stealing in the night.

We purchased a Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher about 8 months ago. Immediately called for service as dishes did not clean after running over 3 hrs. Was told it is operating as designed. I followed all the tips and it still continues to not clean. Plastic wear and cups stay wet, plates arent clean. We have changed detergents pods as well. We may junk it and buy something else. Recently purchased clothes washer and did not buy Whirlpool. Very, very disappointed. I should have kept my 12 yr. old GE Dishwasher that wasted water... But cleaned my dishes. Not happy with Whirlpool!

Whirlpool Dishwasher is 5 years old. Used in a one-person household where dishes are washed approx.. every four days (rinsed before placing in d/washer.) Recently at completion of cycle, 2 of water remained on the bottom (still there.) Whirlpool told me it sounds like I need a new pump, the cost of which would be approx. $300 (tech visit and evaluation, parts and labor.) I understand appliances dont last forever but I expected more than five years.

I purchased a range and refrigerator from Whirlpool and have had nothing but problems with them ever since. Ive only had the range for years and (2) of the top burners are no longer working. Again, the refrigerator is only 5 years old and its handle has broken 5 times. I have needed to replace the handle every year that Ive owned the refrigerator. Whirlpool only offered a (1) years warranty for these faulty appliances and then immediately started to bug me about purchasing an extended warranty. I guess they knew that their junk would hold up, so they started pushing a warranty. Finally, their customer service while apologetic, are very robotic and appeared to have heard my complaint before. So, SAVE YOURSELF SOME AGGRAVATION AND PURCHASE ANOTHER BRAND. For if you dont heed my warning just know that youve been warned.

My girlfriend lives in Europe and bought a Whirlpool stove and countertop burner. She was washing dishes and heard a sound like a crack and she looked around the kitchen to find out where it came from. She looked at her stove top and there was a vertical crack down the center of it. It was turned on, no one was using it but it cracked. She tried to get a replacement glass top and the store told her they were not available. I sent an email to Whirlpool to find another one and never heard back from them. I sent a second email and that was left unanswered. After this I would never buy another stove or stove top made by Whirlpool again. Knowing that KitchenAid was bought out by Whirlpool these comments dont surprise me one bit. Whirlpool is another name for poor quality and no service.

I purchased Duet washer 3 years ago, but it wasnt installed until a little over a year and a half ago. Machine started making loud noise during spin cycle, and eventually would not spin the water out of the machine. I contacted Whirlpool and was told there was a defect in that particular WP model and if it was confirmed by a provided tech, WP would provide the parts for the repair. The tech confirmed the problem, and I was told the repair would still cost over $450, even with the free parts. When I approached WP and asked them to fix the machine since it was a known defect, it was denied that there was a defect.

I have a refrigerator model wrs325fdam. Its not a year old and I cant believe the runaround that I am getting from Whirlpool customer service. Come one day everything in freezer melting. Call a repair person. He come out, diagnose the problems, orders $825 worth of parts for a $899 refrigerator, puts the parts in. On the temperature in the freezer reads 80 degrees. No its order $200 more parts for this scrap metal pile. At what point do the people give a damn at the consumer, its not like anybody has common sense. Im going on two weeks without a ten-month-old refrigerator and four days waiting for them to figure this out. Would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone who cares about fair treatment.

I have made a conscious choice to remove baked food from my diet back in ea
I have made a conscious choice to remove baked food from my diet back in early 2013. That has not stopped my wife from pursuing her passion for baking from time to time. It goes without saying that baking requires a well functioning baking oven. The one that came with our home was a Whirlpool Wall Oven/Microwave combination. Sometime in early 2014 the Oven broke down. I had no choice but to replace the combination. After doing some online research and a couple of trips to stores like Sears, Home Depot and Lowes, we decided to drop $2700 of our hard earned dollars on a brand new Whirlpool WOC95EC0AS wall oven microwave combo to replace the old one. Lowes sent someone home to take measurement to make sure that we ordered the right size for the slot in our kitchen. 2 weeks after the purchase, around March 27th or 28th, we had the Microwave/oven combo installed in our kitchen by some Lowes provided installation contractor. After installing the appliance, the technician demoed both the microwave and the oven part of the combo. Everything looked good and we were happy to see the shiny new appliance adorning our kitchen. Little did we know then that this would start a seemingly unending horror story. For the first 3-4 weeks we used only the microwave and it worked as expected. Then one weekend, my wife decided to do some baking. The dough was prepared meticulously and then came the first surprise, the oven refused to turn on. Feature not available - the message scrolled across the LED display. And horror of horrors, the microwave started giving the same message immediately after. We looked online for solutions, and we found one that suggested that we try breaking the circuit for 1 minute and turn on again we tried it to no avail. And now we went from having a working microwave/broken oven to no microwave/no oven.We waited till the next day or so before placing a call to the customer service number provided in our warranty receipt. By now the 30 day return guarantee had expired and it was the end of April, 2014. Product was now under manufacturers warranty. Whirlpool/Lowes customer service scheduled a technician to come take a look at the oven.My wife took a day off from work and waited for the technician. The technician from J&H appliance repair of SJ came home, took a look and then tried breaking the circuit and turning it on again after a minute; of course, it did not work. After consulting with someone on the phone, he decided to order some parts the main circuit board. He promised to come back after the part arrived. We did receive a call from J&H to schedule an appointment to install the part and schedule a time we did. J&H decided to no-show us on the appointment and my wife wasted another day of her time-off from work.We called customer-service again and this time they decided to send in a technician from a Sears owned company called A&E Factory Service. A technician came home and he went through the same steps as the earlier technician from J&H. This time, it was my turn to stay home and welcome the visitor. Finally when there was no trick up his sleeves to left to try, he decided he is going to order the main board. A&E technician did something different, he ordered the part to my home. I called him as soon as it arrived. We scheduled a time and he arrived to install the part. I stayed home again. Well, result was no different and the appliance was in no mood to oblige to our coaxing and cajoling. Feature not available, it continued to bleep out. He ordered 2 more boards to my home. I stayed home again to welcome the technician and he arrived again to install the 2 new boards but the result was no different than the last time. Feature not available - the zombie appliance screamed. He told me that there is only one that remains to be done which is to replace the front panel circuitry so he ordered it. By now it was end of June. We hadnt used the oven for 3 full months and the microwave for 2 months.First week of July, a new technician from A&E showed up early in the morning to install the newly ordered front panel. Surprise, Surprise - Feature not available screamed the shiny lemon sitting in my kitchen wall. The technician asked me if I will be home the whole day and I said yes. Another technician, a supposedly senior expert came by that afternoon. He tinkered with it for a couple of hours and like all who came before him, he surrendered. He said there is nothing left to do with the oven and that he is going to recommend that the oven be replaced. He left me a voice mail next morning saying that I need to call Whirlpool myself and apprise them of my experience and ask for a replacement. So I called the customer service after a long 1 hour talk with customer service rep, followed by a conversation with his rude supervisor. I was told that Whirlpool no longer deals with A&E that they broke their relationship with them as of June 31st, 2014. I failed to understand why that was my fault. I was told they need to send technician from another company, can you guess the company whirlpool recommended? It would be funny, if it wasnt incredibly painful to deal with horrible customer support representatives yes, it was the the no-show company J&H. I told him Id have nothing to do with J&H. So they recommended their only other option, a company called AGO.AGO technicians started showing up at my house since early July and I waited with baited breath for them to suggest a way forward to a resolution. Well good thing that I didnt hold my breath for that to happen. AGO technicians have made 8-9 visits to my home during July and August with the last visit being on Aug 20th. They replaced all the boards that A&E guys had already replaced the previous month. On August 21st, I received a call from AGO rep saying that they have given up that the product is irreparable. They gave me a reference number and asked me to call Whirlpool for a final resolution.I called Whirlpool customer service on August 22, 2014 and Spoke to Jennifer and her supervisor for 32 minutes. They wanted to restart the whole process of sending technicians to my home. It would be funny if they hadnt stolen $2700 of my hard earned money + all the lost hours and productivity + vacation time lost + headache they caused + the pain of not having a working Oven/Microwave in our kitchen + dealing with rude customer service reps, I lost it. I threatened to put the whole recorded conversation on YouTube. The rude inconsiderate supervisor hung up on me.I called back after a few minutes and spoke with a tad bit more reasonable rep named Ashley. At least, she had the patience to hear me out without barking at me about what my rights are as a customer. Well she had no better solution than to suggest another technician appointment what was the excuse this time? That the last technician from AGO didnt call Whirlpools tech support line while he was at my house. As if that is my fault. I agreed and we setup an appointment for Wednesday, August 27, 2014 between 8AM and 12PM with the same old company J&H who no showed me once. Goes to show you who Whirlpools associates in business are. They had only two companies providing repair services in San Jose AGO and J&H.I took the morning off from work on Aug 27, 2014 and waited till 12 noon and there was no sign of technician. So I called Whirlpool customer service number one more time. As you would expect by now, a rude customer service person named Eva from Michigan picked up my call. It was reasonably clear to me during that conversation that the J&H technician no-showed because appointment was not communicated to them. She emphatically claimed that my warranty is not a product replacement warranty but a repair warranty and that she needs to send me a technician to take a look at the product. Can anyone believe it? She told me I have only one option either to accept the perpetual technician visits or she will note that I have rejected their offer to service the product. I told her I am not rejecting anything, just exploring all my options. She assured me I had no other options. The arrogance of these people! So here I am, several thousand of my hard earned money stolen by Whirlpool and I still have no working product. Adding insult to injury, 2 weeks ago I received a letter from Whirlpool pitching me to extend my 3 year extended warranty to 5 years. They want to inflict more pain and charge you for the privilege.I have more options than Eva would want me to know. Luckily I have legal coverage under my benefit plans at work. Even more importantly there is social media and internet. I am pursuing those options at the moment. Heres the summary: Lowes takes my $2700 on March 13th. I get the Wall Oven delivered and installed on March 27th. A total of at least 15 repair visits are made to my home between first week of March May and August 21 (I have started losing count). Time since product purchase: > 5 months. # of times the oven has worked : 0. Hours spent talking to rude customer service reps: 4-6 hours. Time spent at home baby sitting repair technicians : > 100 hours. Lowes, Inc washed their hand stating 30 day money back guarantee is over. Its customer service people were not of any help either. UPDATE 9/15/14:Within a few hours of publishing this post (on 9/2/14), I was contacted by both Lowes and Whirlpool via Twitter. Both the companies seemed genuinely interested in resolving this issue. After I DMed my appliance and contact information via twitter, Melissa from Whirlpool called me and left me a voice mail on Wednesday, Sept 3rd, 2014 informing that they have decided to replace the oven. I was told in that voice mail that I should expect a call from Whirlpool on the details of the exchange before end of day on Friday (Sept 5th). I was contacted by Lowes and I informed the Lowes rep that Whirlpool has agreed to replace my oven.I thought I would really be able to make a single update to the post informing the world that Whirlpool really made amends and tried to hard to correct the failures of the past. It is 9/15/14 today and I havent received any updates from Whirlpool about the how/when of the exchange. I made 2 customer service calls to Whirlpool last week. I was unable to speak to Melissa the first time, but did speak with another rep. She told me she will pass the information on to Melissa and ask her to contact me. She connected me to Melissas voice mail and I left her a voice mail. Melissas voice mail greetings suggested that I also contact her via Whirlpools customer service email for faster response. So I did that too.On Thursday 12:37PM pacific, I received a call from Melissa. She had no useful information to share with me. She is waiting for some paper pusher to do his/her job and could not make any promises as to when it will be resolved. My file is stuck in one of Whirlpools many bureaucratic bottlenecks. This is no personal indictment of Melissa it is just evidence that Whirlpools is not serious about customer satisfaction. My experience is not isolated as evidenced not just by this event but also by the number of people ranting on their social media handles. Here was an opportunity to rectify its mistake and win the confidence of a customer back and so far Whirlpool seems to be uninterested in any such thing.IMPORTANT UPDATE (9/16/14): Please share this story via your social media handles. It is important to hold these people accountable for their actions. It is also important that we inform consumer about the perils of doing business with these organizations. Thank you very much. UPDATE (9/17/14): Whirlpools customer supports twitter moniker is @WhirlpoolCare. LOL. They could have demonstrated care by resolving customer issues, instead they removed my permission to post to their Facebook Page. WhirlpoolCare indeed.:) I will be handling this mostly through Twitter follow me at **. I will be using hashtag #whirlpoolsux going forward. I would request that you do the same. Our Whirlpool gas hot water heater was purchased and installed (through Lowes) in April 2008. In February 2009, the thermostat failed. Because the failure happened less than a year after purchase, Whirlpool replaced the part and paid for labor. The hot water heater failed again three weeks ago, and we contacted Whirlpool. We were once again provided with another thermostat, and were charged $135.00 by a plumber to install it (even though the customer service rep stated that there were known issues with this tank model). The tank is still not working properly. We (with our tenants) have tried troubleshooting according to their instructions, to no avail. It has been three weeks now, and no resolution. The heater has a six-year warranty. Not sure what this means if the product is defective to begin with. We pay to attempt to repair it?We will not be spending any more money on labor to install parts that may or may not work and have demanded that Whirlpool replace the heater. Whirlpool has refused to pay for any labor costs and told us that we must take the heater back to Lowes. So I suppose that means we have to pay to have a 3 1/2 year old heater removed from the gas and water lines, transported to Lowes, and a new one installed. What a deal.Stay away from Whirlpool.

I shall never purchase another item made by Whirlpool or any of its affiliates. That leaves me with Samsung or Bosch, I think. Pilot was out and Gas control valve signal light was off. Lit the pilot and it appeared to be functioning normally. My first thought was the thermopile had failed but seeing the pilot stayed lit this proved to not be the case. I was extremely relieved at that point. Turned the temperature control knob to high and the burner kicked on. At first it appeared to be functioning fine. But within about 20 seconds I began to hear detonations within the sealed combustion chamber.

We purchased a new Whirlpool Cabrio washer, model #WTW6340WW0, and dryer unit 2 1/2 years ago. We did our research online; Consumer Reports got great reviews everywhere. We went to Lowes and was told that this set (washer/dryer) was the top of the line in top load washers, so we purchased it. Now 2 1/2 years later, our washer is out of service, bad power board is the suspect and maybe the pump. I have heard that there may be a class action lawsuit coming down the pipe against Whirlpool and would like to know more info if it is. We paid nearly $1,000.00 for the washer and like other complaints, we were led to believe that we would get 10-14 years service out of the unit. But that did not happen. I think Whirlpool, Consumer Reports and Lowes should all be held accountable for misrepresentation. I can assure you that all of their executives received attractive bonuses for misleading the consumer. I would not recommend Whirlpool to anyone, Consumer Reports nor Lowes.

I called Whirlpool, and was told by Yvonne that Whirlpool would replace the part only, with no labor, but Mr. Bobs was closed, and to call back in the morning, so this authorization could be set up with Mr. Bobs. I called back and there was no record of my call with Yvonne. I talked to a supervisor Rachel in Tennessee. She put me on hold for a while and finally said she found Yvonnes note to authorize the part. I explained to each person I talked to that I was dissatisfied with Whirlpool. I believe I have a defective microwave. I would like my money back, or a new microwave. I believe the defective mica board is related to the defective transformer. I am a very dissatisfied customer. I have used Whirlpool most of my adult life. I have used them since the 1970s. I currently have a Whirlpool refrigerator, washer, and dryer. A similar situation like this occurred when I bought a Samsung washer. I was dissatisfied, and Samsung refunded my money, and I bought a Whirlpool washer to replace Samsung. I will not be satisfied with this situation, until the microwave is replaced. Thank you for your concern and attention to this matter.

We bought a nice stainless dishwasher from them and got the three year extended warranty. Parts of the racks have slowly been breaking off, and now its started leaking from the bottom at the end of its cycle. We called Home Depot only to find out we were 3 days over the warranty, and basically out of luck! We will never buy another Whirlpool again, or shop at Home Depot.

We bought a Whirlpool washer in 2010. It started making a loud noise on the rinse cycle in 2012. We called Whirlpool. They sent out a repairman from A and E Repair. Was told tub bearing shot, repair over $700.00. Contacted Whirlpool, was told machine out of warranty. After talking to them, they agreed to send parts if we paid labor. Machine lasted less than a year making the same sound again. A and E sent out same thing, bearing gone. Repair cost $997.17, charged us $136.74 service call after 2 minutes to shake the drum and saying same problem. Was told by Whirlpool, no warranty, tough luck.

Oct 14th I walked down to our basement to find it flooded. Turns out the leak came from the solenoid that controls the water feed to our Whirlpool Gold Series refrigerator. Now, some $28,000 in damages later - floors/cabinets/walls/electronics - you name it. The repair company said that they replace these units a lot as it is simply a faulty design and Whirlpool knows this as this part is very difficult to obtain - too much demand. Well aside from the cost, the inconvenience, and the rise in our insurance rates the repair person said there was a good chance of the new part failing as well - it just cant take the water pressure as it is just cheap plastic. My advice - stay away from Whirlpool!

Ordered this two days after my son came home from college. He had to be out of his apartment July 31 2016 and brought 4 years worth of laundry with him. Monday my machine breaks, Tuesday I order this thing from Lowes Arrives at 2:30 on Thursday and as it is being installed I ask why the water fill is so slow. It is trickling out like a childs toy. Delivery man tells me the water is completely turned on. He hears this remark a lot from people who buy this model. I put in my first load of laundry, a small load of about 6 things that I am washing for my mother who is in a nursing home. They have that nursing home smell. I push pause as the machine is cleaning to unlock the lid and peek inside. Oh my God the clothes are sitting on top of each other not even covered in water. I then shut the lid and listen to the tiny slush of the machine agitating. At the end of the cycle they smell exactly the same. Dirty.I had read to use the deep fill so I rewash them on deep fill. Look inside halfway through and what do I see? Wet clothes piled on top of each other, still not floating in water. How are these clothes getting clean when they are in a wet pile on the bottom of the machine? I take them out. Still not clean. Not smelling quite as bad, but not smelling like soap. I then washed sheets, a blanket, and some clothing of my sons. Nothing smelled particularly dirty but NOTHING smelled like soap. The quilt was covered in hairs (my son and roommates had a dog) and soap residue. I had read this in reviews online also. I am wasting time since each load takes from 50 to 130 minutes (yes). I am wasting soap, oh but I am saving water - not really.Well Lowes has a 30 day return policy so I went down there and am expecting a GE machine with an agitator tomorrow, Saturday! Cant wait. The only one saving money are these manufacturers They no longer are spending cash on producing the agitator out of plastic, attaching it with nuts and bolts, or using gaskets between the parts. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK, do not even look at it. I question all the HE machines at this point. You need to use HE soap cause you cant wash away suds in a machine with no water. What a con - the whole thing is.

I bought a Whirlpool french door refrigerator, model # ED5LVAXWS about five years ago. I didnt have any problems until last month, on August 25, 2016. The ice dispenser stopped working, and the refrigerator went off. I had to throw out a lot of food. I got a new extended warranty that day, and a serviceman came out the following day, 8/26. It turned out he wasnt a repairman, just someone to diagnosis the problem and order the parts. The part was ordered, and the fridge would be repaired within 5 days, but the part was delayed because of a Hurricane Hermine, which completely understandable. On 9/8 the repairman arrived, but he realized that the original guy who diagnosed the problem was in error. He had ordered a compressor, and what needed to be replaced was the thermostat. As of today, 9/29, the part is still not in -- I was told its on backorder with no ETA. If I didnt have a mini fridge, Id be at a complete loss. I called what I thought was Whirlpool to complain about the part taking so long to arrive, but was told they can do nothing. It turns out that a company called AIG U.S. Warranty Division handles Whirlpools guarantees. I am not a happy camper.

Purchased a Whirlpool microwave for new home in December 2013. Model WHM31017AW-1. This is the second time the heater element has to be replaced. Im starting to learn the warning signals: open door and then a short time later the microwave would die a sudden death. In my 20s I purchased for my house in Boca Raton Fl all Whirlpool products... they worked forever. Now not so much. In order to get this one fixed again, I had to get a service contract for $300 which would be cheaper than getting it fixed again, heating element $400 and service call another $100. Serious $300 service contract money too much for a senior citizen. Never will I buy another Whirlpool product as a result.

Two days after the one year warranty ran out on our front load washer it started making a terrible noise. Of course the Whirlpool warranty was no longer in effect. The good news I was sold an extended warranty from Nebraska Furniture Mart. Called the Service Provider and was told they will only service the washer if it is not working. After several more calls they scheduled a service call in 10 days. We are a family of four, yes no washer is a problem. Finally the technician showed up and said the main bolt holding the drum assembly in place had broken off. He would have to order the bolt. It is now on backorder for 3 weeks. No washing machine for 4 people and now nearly a month is a pain. Not only did my calls to Whirlpool do nothing but the calls to the third party Warranty Company have been very frustrating. My call to the salesperson at NFM was very helpful, but didn’t help get our washer fixed. This is our second and last set of Whirlpool laundry pairs in less than four years.

Approximately 2 years after purchasing a Whirlpool Gold side-by-side/counter depth refrigerator, I noticed cracks on the interior walls. This was in 2011. First, I contacted the service contract people. They told me this was not covered under the policy. Next, I wrote & called the company. They told me they could send someone out to EPOXY the walls. I told them this was not at all acceptable to me and that I believe this is a defective product. I have never heard of this happening to a refrigerator. I am also quite concerned that there are toxins emitted through these cracks. After a time with no response, I wrote them again. This time, they referred me to Ms. Alicia ** at the Exec. Offices. She wrote asking me to call her. After making several calls & leaving messages to no avail, I wrote her asking that she kindly write back to inform me what the company was going to do about this defective product. I cant help thinking they did not want to commit to anything in a letter because I never heard from her or anyone else at Whirlpool. Small Claims Court cannot help as the company does not have an office in New York. I am very worried about the possible health hazard this possesses. I am very careful to completely cover all food inside the refrigerator. At this point, the cracks have increased in size and new ones have appeared. I am very upset over the lack of concern and lack of response from Whirlpool.Ive owned many Whirlpool appliances through the years and trusted the brand. This is not a cheap appliance. Consumers dont expect to spend a few thousand dollars on a product just to dump it in a year or two. Given the size of the Whirlpool Corp., anyone would think they would simply replace their defective product to keep their reputation if not for the health concern of their customers, which should be a priority. Over the past few years, I have had increased respiratory problems and so have other family members. I believe its due to the emissions from the cracks. I will have to dump this defective refrigerator before it gives me cancer! Thanks Whirlpool, great doing business with you.

I have owned the machine for 1yr and 6 months, bought new from reputable company. The washer always had kind of a clunk sound which the manual says is normal. Clothes would have white marks and streaks after was but disappear when dry. Clothes would seem damp, never like they were completely washed. Went to do a load last night and thats when it stopped working. Powered on, cycle selection was fine, lid locked, typical clunk noise, then nothing, no water. Paused the cycle, lock lid light flashed but didnt unlock. Machine powered off on its own and unlocked. I powered it back on after 30 minutes and it wouldnt let me change the cycle, panel selection was frozen. So I powered it off and contacted repair. They think its the water inlet? Pending repair to see for sure. This is not OK! I had an older machine from the 90s that was still working before I bought this one. So sad to have this type of product from this company.

I bought my new Whirlpool Duet washer in April 2011 and the gas steam dryer
I bought my new Whirlpool Duet washer in April 2011 and the gas steam dryer in May 2011. In October 2011, the washer started to make a loud banging noise when starting the spin cycle. I contacted Whirlpool, and they scheduled a service call and stated that the washer was out of service. I told them it was and that I just bought it in April 2011. They said that the repair guy would need to see the receipt. Well, the A&E Factory service guy came out and said it was the bearings. Whirlpool only replaced the bearings with the whole tube unit and a few other parts. I was never told that all these parts would be mailed to my home, until I got a call from A&E about the tube being on back order. I was told that the part wouldnt be in until November 21, 2011, and it would take another week or more to schedule for a repair guy to come out. I called Whirlpool Executive Office (269-923-5000) and complained about all this. They said thats how it works--they ship everything to the customer and that there was nothing she could do about the back-ordered part. So I called Lowes corporate office and told them what was going on and asked if they could push Whirlpool into fixing my washer faster. About 4 1/2 hours later, I got a call from the assistant store manager; and they said that they would replace my washer with a brand-new one and would have it delivered in 2 days. Now, that was going above and beyond what I thought they would do. Just another reason why Ill continue to be a Lowes customer. Now, here it is, April 2012; and my dryer is leaking water into the drum. On Saturday, I went online and scheduled a service repair for Wednesday, April 25. Today, the 24th, I got a call from VIA that they would be out tomorrow and that I would owe them $120.00 for the service call as my dryer was out of warranty. Here we go once again, having to battle Whirlpool! I really dont give a dang what their dang system tells them about when I bought their product! I know when I bought it. And why did they keep telling me that Im wrong? They did almost to the point of calling me a liar!I called the Executive Office again and had to leave a message. Mark my words, I will never ever buy another Whirlpool product again! I will make sure that I tell everyone who I know at work and at home about the way Whirlpool handles their good customers!

Now in February of 2016 the ice maker and water dispenser are leaking. Because the warranty is one year, Im basically stuck with a refrigerator that sucks. This refrigerator is in a vacation home and has barely been used. I have purchased many Whirlpool appliances on the past and have never seen such poor quality in an appliance. We purchased this refrigerator towards the end of 2008. The entire interior of the refrigerator is imploding. The plastic Whirlpool used to frame the glass shelves is cracking and shards are falling off. There are 3 drawers; one has already fallen because the plastic sliders the drawer moves along has disintegrated. We noticed the small hairline cracks appearing some time ago but never thought they would go to this extreme. Apparently the plastic used cannot stand up to cold temperatures.I contacted Whirlpools chat and was told that the product is out of warranty and I need to place a service call to get new parts. I proceeded to email the CEO of Whirlpool, Mr. Fettig because I dont believe I should have to pay for a service call when its a manufacturing problem. I received a call the day after and was told the same thing; that they are sorry we are experiencing a problem but the warranty only covers the first year. I was told that if there was a problem with the plastic being inferior that they should have cracked in the first year. I responded that the cracks may have been occurring early on in the back of the refrigerator which is the coldest part but were noticeable. Its very frustrating because a refrigerator purchase is expensive and not something that I planned on doing a mere 5 years later. I believe that Whirlpool at the very least could have shown goodwill towards their customers and given at least some discount on the replacement parts or at the very least a certificate with an amount off toward the purchase of a new refrigerator. Its a win-win situation for everyone because the customer is still happy with their Whirlpool refrigerator and/or it guarantees repeat business for Whirlpool. Apparently Whirlpool doesnt care about keeping customers happy and want and/or need repeat business. Its the last Whirlpool I will ever purchase!!!

This is a good customer service (CS) review. Whirlpool knows about the defect and continues to distribute the fridge this way. We have a Whirlpool model #WRF757SDEM01 we purchased this year (2017). We love the size and the fact that the ice bin is in the door and takes up very little room. Our only complaint prior to this issue was the ice and water do not always come out gracefully. So we were happy overall till a large block of ice formed in the back of the fridge. My original call to CS was great. They did not ask me a bunch of stupid questions, just said that should not be happening and scheduled a service call.Service guy knew exactly what it was because he had repaired the same model with the same issue several times. It is a defect in the dual cooling/defrost system that Whirlpool knows about, but continues to produce. Two parts need to be replaced and one part had to be ordered. Which was not a big deal since two days were needed to thaw out the mini glacier. We lost food so I made a second call to CS and again there were no stupid questions or arguments. They got a $75 debit card in the mail to us. So I thank Whirlpools CS reps, but sure wish the manufacturing side of things were a little more diligent in production. Certainly this cost them money on all accounts.

As far as reliability it has done pretty well but I did have to replace the tub bellow and it is only 5 years old. It also makes a lot of noise so it is not a quiet machine at all. I had to turn the gas off my water heater and when I tried to turn it back on, it refused. I called the number on the heater and somebody answered. The guy told me to take the pilot gas hose off to make sure there was gas in the line. I did this but after spending 1/2 hour putting the pipe back in, the pilot light did not go on. I called them back and they told me to push a white switch and hold it down for 10 seconds and retry. That didnt work either so they told me to call a repair man and gave me the phone number of a local plumber. Trying not to give up, I removed the pilot light pipe off and tried blowing and sucking on it. I couldnt get air through the pipe so I figure that somehow it was clogged. I tried taking the whole assembly off (there are 2 screws to remove) but couldnt get that out. Purchased this washer in 2009 from Lowes, believing the hype that it was efficient. Since we only needed a Washer at the time, we overpaid (it is more cost effective when you buy both washer and dryer). So we paid $1000.00 for this machine (we purchased the stand as well). After the 1st year, there seemed to be a significant decrease in how fast the washer spun, as the clothes were coming out wetter. I didnt pay much attention, but 2 years later, the machine has a weird problem where it couldnt complete the cycle, and by this time, every time it Spun, the noise was louder and louder.I contact Whirlpool, placed a service call and the Technician came out. $225.00 later, there was a hose that was pinched that was sending a wrong signal to the washer. He fixed that and told me I should get a contract on the machine through Whirlpool since I seemed to be having problems. I purchased the contract, for $300.00, and 2 1/2 weeks later placed another service call, as the noise from the machine was happening every time I did laundry. The service guy came out, indicated that it seemed to be the Agitator, and that he would need to order parts, and that they had a SPECIALIST who only does this type of repair, since they have many! He also indicated that the hose may have crimped due to the movement of the entire agitator!Well, after not hearing from ANYONE for 2 weeks, I called the repair company who told me WHIRLPOOL was supposed to call and let me know that they would NOT fix the machine, as the parts cost more than the Washer, which is now valued at $500.00! No one from WHIRLPOOL EVER CALLED, and I cant understand how a $1000.00 Washing machine touted to be so efficient and environmentally friendly has been THROWN OUT after 3 years!!! And now I am out the $225.00 repair, have no washing machine, $1000.00 down the drain (and I forgot to mention a year later we bought the matching WHIRLPOOL DRYER and OVERPAID) and now have to purchase another machine, which I assure you WONT BE WHIRLPOOL! As most of us have experienced, WASHING MACHINES last for many years! The washer I had before this was over 20 years!!!! So much for efficient and environmentally friendly... The only thing GREEN about this machine is how much of my $$$ has gone to Whirlpool!

I bought a 50-gal. Whirlpool electric hot water heater about 6 years ago from Lowes. About every two years, something goes bad. So far, I had to replace electronic control board that sits on top of heater twice. Then the heating element went bad. Well, this time, the electronic control board started to smoke and melt. I was home so I smelled something melting and found it. What would have happened if I was not at home? I have dogs that are like my kids; they could have been killed. Whirlpool wants to send the replacement parts knowing this part is no good. Do not buy a Whirlpool electric water heater! Now, Im scared the next time I wont be at home to find the thing smoking. I dont have money to buy a new one. How many other people have the same problem?

I have had my water heater for 5 years and the repair is going to be close to $300.00! Whirlpool offered to send me the part and if I want hot water tomorrow I can pay $30.00 for shipping! $10.00 for standard ground! My other water heater was builder grade and lasted 12 years! Go figure.

Got a Whirlpool hot water heater 5 years ago has 9 year warranty. The threads on the nipple are rusted out and it’s leaking. It has rusted out so badly that it’s leaking. They are refusing to replace it saying it’s a plumbing issue even though the nipples that they installed are what’s leaking.

I bought a Maytag front load washer on October 24, 2010. I have not been able to use it because it came damaged by the manufacturers. I contacted them by phone several times and it took them three months to send someone (A and E sears repair). Two months passed and I did not get the parts necessary or a replacement washer. I kept calling and finally they sent someone again in May 2011. They said they where going to order the parts because the new company was not going to replace the machine, even though it was already damaged. They said I would get the parts between three-five business days. I only got one part. A and E sent a repair guy again on the 22nd of June. This one said they needed the entire machine in parts and that he would order the parts. I called A and E one week later and they said they were waiting for the on manufacturer to send the parts (Whirlpool). The 26th and the 27th of July, I got the parts. On the 22nd of July, another repairman came and said we needed more parts. Today, August 16, 2011, I called Whirlpool and A and E and now they said the parts wont be here till after October 26, which by then I would have to pay for the parts and labor if I wanted it fixed because by then the one-year warranty would have expired. So here I am with a $700 washer, which was never used and they refused to fix/replace. They sold me a lemon!

Sounding like a broken record, this washer is such a disappointment! I had high hopes for this top loader and thought I did enough research. Bought a Cabrio in Oct 2016 and have never liked it. They will have you believe it’s your fault... the wrinkly clothes, the clothes not clean enough, the white marks over all your clothes... you can’t change your detergent or softener enough and change the amount enough... it will still be there. So disappointed??? Want my front loader back!
